Very modern retail centre filled with all the big names and more , the central arcade is very open and airy lined either side with various shops spread over two levels . The central area has bench seating and kiosks . Very nice place to visit and have some retail therapy.

Pin wheel display is amazing 🤩 perfectly matched. This mall has a lot of clothing stores. Tourist can find free toilet here.

What a delight to find and discover this wonderful unique town It has everything old and new with stunning canals along with beaches that's are just 10 minutes drive away

I enjoyed my day trip stopping by different towns on the way from Portugal to Madrid. We stopped in Aveiro, where we took pictures, ate, and enjoyed the history.

It is a surprising voluminous museum of princess Santa Joana. The rich collection of religious artifacts is a feast to the faithful. Even though I don't subscribe to Catholic teaching, the life of Princess Santa Joana must have been a story of devotion that moved and loved by many.

Beautiful museum. Very affordable. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Not too busy. Parking was a small challenge because it is located in a popular part of Aveiro but it only took ten minutes to find a spot. Highly recommend.

The museum has a large number of beautiful religious artifacts and it is located on a feminine Dominican convent built in 1458. The ticket to the museum allows the visitor to get access to multiple historic sites in Aveiro.

The permanent exhibition of the museo is a must see. The location an it's history a very interesting. It takes you to another time and life style. Imagining living amongst the nuns and there strict daily routine. The rooms are breath taking, the Church of Jesus, the high choir and the paintings and other art pieces are all qorth seeing. Bring some time for this museo, as takes some time to explore.

A delightfull place to visit, combining both the old architecture of the monastery and the more recent museum area. There are stunning areas of worship where objects are displayed and a large collection of paintings reserved for the more modern area. Only a few euros to enter a great place to spend time. Photography is permitted (no flash).

Perfect!!! I have never ever in my life eaten such a delicious fish. Sea bass was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. Prices are really cheap. Highly recommend.

Amazing meal! The mixed platter for 2 (110€) was plenty for my very hungry family of 4, next time we would also order 4 seafood soups (best in the world, dairy free). Freshly weighed before cooking, I wouldn’t mind heading there from Porto to sit at the bar in the back. Our total was 140€, including wine, a steak, 2 soups, moules. We could barely eat dinner, this meal was so good and plentiful.

Great place with amazing sea food. I do advise to book for dinner in advance. Preferably go for dinner around 20:00. Service personnel were very accommodating, active in reservation (called us the moment the space freed up for us earlier than original reservation time).

The soup, stir-fried vegetables, and grilled fish were truly memorable. The stir-fried vegetables, in particular, were the best I had in Portugal. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.

Possibly the best seafood rice I’ve ever had. Rice was ‘Al dente’ and had the perfect texture and no shortage of seafood (clams, shrimps, half a lobster). Great vinho verde options as well, and friendly service. I can’t recommend this dish enough. Dish for 2 cost 56 euros plus wine starting at 8 the bottle.

We came here for dinner as we wanted to try sapateira (crab). For the starters we had some bread with butter and vegetable soup. Soup was nice, nothing too special. Crab was good, one was enough for 2 people. I wouldn't say that sapateira was something wow, it was ok. It had some crab shell in the mix, not sure if it's supposed to be like this or not, but not the best experience.

Great food, one of the best we tried in Portugal. Everything is melting in your mouth. But the most amazing thing about this place is service. Claudio is a waiter or rather host who you very rarely meet. Friendly and knowledgeable, with great sense of humor, he anticipated our questions and needs. Fantastic! Thank you, Claudio!

This bridge is the heart of Aveiro — from here, you can easily hop on a boat tour or start a peaceful walk through the historic center. We joined a boat ride right next to this spot, gliding under old bridges and learning about the town's history. After that, we strolled through the nearby square and admired the tiled buildings and quiet churches. It's calm, scenic, and charming — one of the most relaxing parts of our Portugal trip. Highly recommended.

Very charming place which reminds me a little bit of the Amsterdam canals. There is also a market every Sunday where locals sell 2nd hand items and antiques.

It’s a beautiful ponte, surrounded by shopping malls, street markets (depending on the day and time), coffee shops and bars. The coffee shops along the river offer the best view, I totally recommend it. It is just a peaceful place to walk alongside of the river.

Nice canal that runs through Aveiro , easy to walk along, there is a market that is near this bridge and it’s not to far to walk from the main train station. The main bus station is very close to the train station

This modest pedestrian bridge, built with wood or metal, blends seamlessly into the traditional canal setting of Aveiro. In 2014, two university students in Aveiro began tying ribbons to the bridge, turning it into a symbolic place to celebrate friendship and love. Today, the railings are covered with thousands of colorful ribbons, creating a vibrant and heartfelt display. Many visitors continue the tradition, leaving behind their own ribbon as a token of connection and memory.

Enjoy a wonder walk along the canal in Aveiro. This is a fun quiet place to hang around for couple of hours. I like the view in the afternoon, such a beautiful sunset. Then went to a coffee shop and tried some local sweets, which were extremely high in sugar but delicious.

Nice place to be and see little boats floating by. It is easily accessible the inner city. Especially nice to get out of the masses of people in the shopping mall.

One of the greatest experiences I’ve had recently! From the moment we arrived, all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with my 3 yo son who was a bit unsettled at the beginning. The atmosphere is unique and the food is fantastic!! They accommodate all the dietary requirements, including for pregnant women 🤩 We will definitely be Back!!

We visited around midday and the food was excellent overall – only one of the rolls in the combo wasn’t to our taste. However, I wanted to point out something that left a negative impression: we noticed that the hostess at the reception was offering a complimentary glass of wine to most guests as a welcome gesture. My husband and I are relaxed people and currently on vacation, so we were quite surprised that we were not offered the same, especially when it seemed that everyone else around us was. I don’t know if it was because of how we were dressed or just a biased attitude, but it came across as quite classist. We’ve dined at some of the best sushi restaurants and for us, this kind of gesture is not a luxury – it’s about feeling welcomed and respected as a guest. We don’t believe we should have to look a certain way to be treated equally. Experiences like this leave a bad taste, no matter how good the food is

Services and atmosphere were top notch. The digital menu was hard to use, too much switching back and forth and trying to remember what we wanted to order. They should just try to digitize the ordering process too to make the experience smoother. Sushi was good but nothing special.

One of our favorite in Porto. The chef never disappoints. 3 of us had miso soup, the fourth enjoyed the crepes. We order ceviche, udon pasta( thick pasta)for one,chef’s choice for 3 of us. We had Sangria, Coke Zero and water. All were delicious and we enjoyed it to the last piece. Our kids from Canada, admired the beauty of the building also.

You pay here (quite a lot) for the design, service and Instagram posts. The food is ok, not more. It is served with all sorts of effects like smoke and big decorative plates which are very instagrami. Because of these so many decorations and effects the sushi is overshadowed. Beautiful design of the place, very good service though. If you dont make a reservation you get a free glass of sparkling wine for the wait, so perhaps I would recommend not to reserve a table if you want this perk.

While passing through Aveiro, we thought we'd grab something to eat. After a short walk through the city streets, we found this restaurant where we decided to stop for a bite to eat.We didn't have high expectations but we were pleasantly surprised ordering something basic from their menu of the day. Overall it was very tasty and cheap, worth trying if you're in a hurry and you don't have enough time to explore the city in search of the perfect restaurant

It is in the center and the right next to my hotel , the waiter was very nice and welcoming , the food did not take long and it was really nice . The octopus salad was really good , and the shrimp was delicious as well , the only comment i have is that the shrimp was not deveined and i had to clean it. But otherwise , satisfied with the service and the quality. Would visit again.

We stopped by this place by chance without checking any reviews, and that was our mistake. We ordered grilled shrimp and squid, and they arrived completely burned. The waiter just said that's how it's supposed to be. Very disappointing. The wine was good, though.

We went there at 19h sharp, and there was no need for a reservation. We took the platter of presunto and cheese, the seafood mix, and the chocolate mouse/pavlova desert. The food was amazing with correct proportions, but I haven't been there enough to know if it's consistent. I recommend our order due to the quality, quantity, and price... Super quaint but also a bit like Venice beach or the Jersey shore - lighthouses and mini-golf! Had some great food including right on the beach.

Not much to see here apart from the somewhat unique and colourful houses. There's also a meat market and a few cafes. This is more like an interesting rest stop on the journey to Aviero. Toilet facilities are available here.

These striped houses are absolutely charming and give a special character to Costa Nova. The original idea behind their colorful design dates back to when they were fishermen’s houses — the bright colors helped the fishermen spot their homes from afar while out at sea. It’s a truly picturesque and unique place that captures the authentic spirit of coastal Portugal.

Really cute, colourful houses. You can take a walk in the promenade near water or near the colourful houses. All the routes are pretty flat. Lots of parking spaces to leave your car. Would not go out the way to visit, but it was nice walk

Suuuuuper pretty houses! Some are very well maintained and some are not in a good shape, some are painted very colorful and some are not. All in all it’s around 500m of cute houses. Absolutely worth a visit!

Beautiful spot to take photos and walk along the street. Highly recommend this spot and hitting up the market as well for some baked treats.

Not much to see or do here. The quaint striped homes are good for a drive-by but that’s about it. Markets were not big or varied. Our guide didn’t know much about the area either which didn’t help.

Oh wow if you like a bit of fish this pkace is definitely not to be missed . From early in the morning the fish comes into this busy market , literally just of the boats , the place is so busy with stall holders shouting the price of the fish thier selling to attract you , along with the smell of the fish and the sheer buzz of all the goings on , it’s not be missed . There is also fresh bread and bakeries in the same complex along with a butchers . The fish for sale looks absolutely amazing. We didn’t buy fish this day but I’ll definitely be back soon to buy some.

Vivisted in February. Wide beach( can't imagine how busy it is getting in the summer). Was warm enough for a walk, nice to admire nature in action when waves struck the stone made up shore. Few restaurants are open and serve food and drink.

There is a wooden path that stretches a long way next to the dunes and the beach. It is much easier to walk on the path than on sand, but both feel nice 😁

Just a lovely beach so close to the town, there are bars restaurants along the long wood deck path overlooking this soft white sand beach with the calm waves and good for paddling, swimming and surfboards. The beach is very big with loads of space for all to enjoy and have fun . The town and main shops are only a short stroll away .

This is a wide, sandy beach known for its long stretch of shoreline and well-maintained coastal promenade. It offers excellent conditions for water sports such as surfing, kayaking, and kite surfing, making it a popular destination for active beachgoers. During the winter months, the beach sees strong, consistent waves that attract surfers despite the low water temperatures—typically around 14°C. Even in summer, the water rarely exceeds 20°C. Outside the winter season, the shallow and calmer waters make it ideal for families and leisure swimmers. The beach is also visually striking, with the iconic Farol de Aveiro and a backdrop of gently curving dunes creating perfect photo opportunities—especially at sunset, when the entire scene is bathed in golden light.

This is my favorite beach. Lots to do and see. Great for fishing, walking on the extensive board walks, spending thd day at the beach or at many beach bars. There is always something to do or just do nothing. Enjoy.

Fantastic beach and close to the town (within east walking distance) and a parque de Autovannas (campervan area) very close by the beach has life guards on duty during the summer months and has bars/restaurants along the long boardwalk that goes all the way along from the beach up past the next beach (however there is a part of the boardwalk that is impassable (June 2025 ) the beach is good to swim at and loads of space .

I stopped into this place on my way driving from Porto to Lisbon. Like many beach towns it also was a bit quiet because only a small number of people live year-round in the small coastal towns. I loved the lighthouse on the beach very cool. I can imagine that during July and August these towns are brimming with tourists. It’s nice to take a walk on the beach without all of the noise and crowds

Standing at 62 meters in height (66 meters above sea level), this is the tallest lighthouse in Portugal and the second tallest in the Iberian Peninsula. It was designed in 1879 and completed in 1893. Since the automation of its operations in 1990, the lighthouse has been unmanned. The exterior features a distinctive pattern of red and white horizontal stripes. Inside, there are 271 stone spiral steps followed by 20 steel steps and an elevator. Visitors can access the interior during designated hours on Wednesdays. From the top, you can view the actual lighthouse beacon and enjoy sweeping panoramas of Praia da Barra, the Atlantic coastline, the Aveiro Lagoon, and nearby towns. Note: Visitors are required to use the staircase to reach the top; the elevator is not available for public use. In addition, there is no online reservation system. A staff member is present on site, but entry is informal—visitors must either call ahead or knock at the lighthouse door to speak directly with the staff for access.

It was a moment, I haven't entered, I just visited the area in the mid September, the area is amazing. There is long side of the beach with several places around to have a drink. IT'S A COMBINATION of art nouveau in the down town with peaceful Beach time just 10 min away, car drive. I AM NOT FAMILIAR whether public transportation could be used to reach the place, BUT IF YOU WANT PEACEFUL ESCAPE AND SUNSET OR SUNRISE, IT IS YOUR PLACE TO GO.

It stands 62 meters (203 feet) tall, making it the tallest lighthouse in Portugal (but not the tallest one in Europe). The stone lighthouse was completed in 1893 to mark the entry to the Aveiro Lagoon. It is only open for a very short period of time- for a few hours on wednesday... so if you want to clikb it, you have to really plan it. Lots of parking spots available nearby

Very cool walkable area. I was unfortunately there during the forest fires so everything was a bit cloudy and shops were closed. However, this is a wonderful area to hang with family. There's a walking path alongside the water and plenty of restaurants to choose from.

I really liked the museum but the best part was the temporary exhibition at the beginning of the walking tour. The entire museum shows a lot of porcelain pieces but only in the beginning temporary exhibition was I given an explanation of the craft with proper detail and objects as examples.

Such a bizarre concept I’ve never seen before as a Portuguese person. “Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.” Matthew 21:12-17 Vista Alegre should be ashamed that they’re attempting to profit off worshippers who want to look at this amazing church.

4.6 I recommend eating at Dori and making a reservation in advance. The food was great with generous portions. I would recommend the Lenguado and the octopus salad. The atmosphere was good and the waiter was nice. We were celebrating a birthday so we requested a special dessert but they forgot about it. They also switched up the meat doneness. Besides that everything was great.

Was expecting better since I have heard so many good things about this place by my local family. We had a variety of local fish and some was overcooked and others were just ok. The fruit platter wasn’t great but the service was pleasant. I don’t think I’d return as there is no value and much better places along this little stretch of street

One of the best seafood places I have ever been. Everything was incredible. Services was magnificent and food, food was delicious. Special mention to the rice with octopus and prawns. We recommend this 100% for everyone who’s visiting that area.

My wife and I had a great experience at Zazzaro yesterday. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The food was very tasty and well priced. Recommend the vinho tinto de casa, Arancini, bruschetta and pizza. Not pictured but equally tasty, was their affogato!

Zazzaro Pizzaria Restaurante – A Top-Class Experience We visited Zazzaro without a reservation and were warmly welcomed – clearly a popular place, but the staff still made room for us with great hospitality. We both had pizza followed by tiramisu for dessert. The quality of both the food and dessert was absolutely top-notch. The pizza was perfectly baked with a delicious crust and high-quality ingredients, and the tiramisu was one of the best we've ever had. There is honestly nothing to criticize. Highly recommended!

Awesome pizze in a very nice place, and very good service! Perfect tiramisu! By the way... we forgot a box of unfinished food on the table when leaving... and the waiter came running after us to give it. Very nice.

I went here with coworkers and it was a great lunch! The waiters were fantastic and cozy atmosphere. We all ordered pizza and mine was the Diavola, spicy pepperoni. They were delicious, thin crust, as I like! The wine list is great with good options and at a great price.

Had a lovely meal here during our stay July 2025 . I had a very juicy burger with homemade chips , the burger had a fantastic taste to it but I’d have thought it could have been a bit bigger but excellent all the same, the pizzas are very good value and extremely tasty , the service is the best you can expect , very mannerly and obliging staff , the cost is good for the quality of the restuarent. I would definitely recommend this place to all .

The restaurant is cozy and the food is OK. We went there for dinner during the week but it is obvious they have staff that are not trained/new and only one Brazilian waiter was giving an outstanding service. The seafood rice was OK and we ordered for 2 people however, the portion it was big. So take that in mind when you order, perhaps for 2 people that are used to eat a lot it might be worth it. We took the leftovers home because it was still rice for 2 people 😅 I would come back here for the food but something that really annoyed me is that for some reason all the 3 waiters disappeared for long periods at the same time and the desserts took a long long time to be served.

Best Seafood restaurant we've been to in Praia da Barra and Costa Nova. Service is amazing. Food absolutely delicious. The cataplana is to die for and their marisqueira just as good. Their stripped bass was so tender and moist. Don't forget the house white wine... spectacular!

Burger would benefit from a little effort like melting the chease and putting some sauce or dressing in it. The fries didn't come with a dipping sauce either. Rather bland, nothing homemade. One burger, one soda, one Magnum icecream 15.10 euro.

Enjoy seaview while you eat, their indoor seating has scenic view towards the beach and sea, quiet atmosphere, not crowded (but probably due to low season), simple lunch with different selections including vegan, vegetarian, seafood, poultry...and quite some choices of drinks and desserts, friendly staff too!

Very nice and cosy place directly by the beach. I had the risotto with gambas and veggies, an iced tea and a hot chocolate. The risotto was really delicious and the service was great and attentive. I spent the whole afternoon there, the environment was really nice.

Beautiful park with huge potential — but terribly neglected. Parque Infante Dom Pedro in Aveiro is a truly beautiful and charming space. It has everything you could want in an urban park: a peaceful lake with ducks, lovely old buildings, shaded areas, picnic spots, a playground, sports facilities, and even public bathrooms. It could easily be one of the best parks in Portugal — but there’s a huge "but." The park is extremely neglected. Many areas are damaged, dirty, and poorly maintained. Trash is often visible, structures are in bad shape, and it’s clear that regular cleaning and upkeep are lacking. It’s honestly very sad and disappointing to see such a wonderful space falling apart like this. I really don’t understand why the Câmara Municipal doesn’t take better care of this park. It has incredible potential to be a true gem for locals and tourists alike, but it desperately needs attention and investment.

Its a very lovely park, maybe even a hidden pearl of Aveiro that needs just a little bit of love and care. There is a pond, in which there are a lot of ducks. Bamboo forest reslly surprised us 😁 The park is very nice to ride a bike, jog, walk around and relax, enjoy the views . It really has a potential.

Its a beautifully cute park situated not far way frOm the city center. It has a good location to take some photos as souvenir. There is a small water pool too. Its really great to spend sOme quiet moments. The playground for children is also available, plus washrooms. And if you are visiting it in a warm day, there is a small cafe to provide you drinks. It was nice to visit this park while our visit in Aveiro.

We enjoyed walking around this park so much! The serenity of the place is unbelievable! It really calms you just by appreciating it’s beauty. A great way to escape the busyness of Aveiro’s city center. The place is very pretty as well to take photos.

One of the most charming and beautiful parks in Portugal, for damn sure. I absolutely fell in love with the bohemian vibe that it has to offer. It’s an amazing place for bird-watching lovers. There’s a variety of life forms living here that is kind of rare these days. It’s also great for small picnics but please, there are trash bins around in every corner of the park, don’t leave any traces of your personal trash there. Be attentive! It’s a great place to just chill out and read a book as well. Enjoy it!

My favorite room to perform in! This place is so dang cool, and the staff are the best! Definitely a great place for comedy and so many other shenanigans.

This place is affordable and open late. The only negative aspects is that there are many foreigners and tourists there. The benefit however is that you can still smoke inside. This is the only place I've found that still allows smoking inside legally. There is no food I think this is the reason you are allowed to smoke inside. The place is a bit old and smelly and you must walk along distance to pick up your drinks, but overall it's a good value for the money, if you don't mind sitting next to strange and dirty people from northern Europe.

It is a formidable space for a nice break, alone or with friends. Usually very calm during the day, and that allows one to best enjoy the building and its rooms. But it is also a good option for night time fun.

Really interesting venue - the bar and staff are pretty attentive. You feel you're at someone's house. It's a great place to chat and have a coffee or really good care cocktails. They have a limited but very good beer selection from local brewers, aside from the usual mainstream ones.

We recently visited with the gate one tour. The restaurant had nice decor and the staff were friendly. I wasn’t very impressed with the food though. We had the vegetarian entry which was beet rice. Our friends had a pescatarian option which was a seafood rice and our travel companions had beef. No one finished their meals. I suspect the quality may be better when they are not cooking for a large group though.

The food was exceptional. There were a couple of niggles I had in general but perhaps I'm just old fashioned. Firstly bread for the cover should always be served warm. Never serve beer in glasses with a brand name as this is for coffee shops and and cheap snack houses and finally I still believe that red and white wines should be served in different glasses. Apart from those observations my wife and I had a lovely evening savouring the 6 course tasting menu. It was a real treat except for the aforementioned observations. Thank you.

Good food, terrible service — left a bad taste overall No doubt the food is good and portions are fair, but the service was so awful it ruined the experience. My family of five went for an 8pm Sunday dinner. The restaurant was very quiet — about seven tables in use, mostly couples — and at least five servers were working. Three of us arrived first and were seated with three menus. When the remaining two arrived less than 10 minutes later, we asked for two more menus and were told there was only one available — in a mostly empty restaurant. Couvert: Server 1 offered the €3.50 couvert (a small assortment of bread with regular butter, black garlic butter, and hummus). Bread was cold and then never offered again, yet the condiments sat on the table through starters and mains before finally being cleared — was the hummus meant for my fish? Ordering: Server 2 appeared without introducing himself and abruptly asked if we were ready to order. His tone, pace, and body language were cold and unfriendly. We asked about the set menu, got the info we needed, and requested a few more moments. When we went to order wine, he pointed at a QR code and walked away. Server 3 then appeared to ask what wine we wanted. Three of us ordered a bottle, and the other two asked for cocktails. Drinks: The wine arrived and was poured, but after 10 minutes we had to flag down yet another server (Server 4 — the only friendly one) to ask about the cocktails. They arrived much later and then the food followed, which was delicious and well-portioned. After the initial wine pour, water was topped up by two different servers, and plates were cleared, but our wine glasses sat empty for 15 minutes with no refill. I eventually stood up and poured it myself. Server 3 topped it up only once more the entire night. Dessert & Coffee: Once mains were cleared, we were offered dessert. One dessert and three coffees were ordered. We were asked if we wanted the coffee with the dessert, and we said yes. Dessert came out and was finished before the coffee arrived — about a 15-minute gap. Why ask if you can’t serve them together? Having worked in high-end restaurants for 15+ years, I was honestly done at this point and just wanted to leave. Bill: I went to the counter to request the bill. I had booked via The Fork and thought a discount was applied — it wasn’t. When I asked, two servers tried to sort it out and Server 3 rather rudely pointed out it was my mistake. Fine — I had no issue paying the €300 bill. Server 3 insisted I return to the table to pay there and walked back with me. None of the staff had introduced themselves all night, and not once did anyone attempt to upsell, check in, or even ask for a tip — which would have been a firm zero. Final thoughts: Shocking service from start to finish. Cold attitudes, zero hospitality, no basic table awareness, and absolutely no professionalism. These people should not be in customer-facing roles. This is also apprently a Michelan Star restaurant? - Ha! Food alone isn’t enough — I do not recommend this place to anyone who values service.

This is a five out of five-star restaurant. The dishes were simply amazing and deliciously prepared. The pork with truffle was well-balanced, tasty, and juicy. The fish of the day was perfectly cooked and bursting with fresh flavor. The dessert was perfect as well. Every bite reflected the chef’s attention to detail and passion for fine cuisine. Absolutely lovely restaurant in Aveiro. Wonderful service. That would be enough to recommend, but I must add that they have the very best risottos we have ever enjoyed. They have at least 5 different risottos to match their varied dishes, and I suspect they are all just as delicious. Frankly, their prices are too low for the quality of the restaurant overall. You will need to make a reservation. I was able to do this via Facebook, I think, with an email confirmation. A don’t miss choice if visiting Aveiro.

We did a walk through this area yesterday as part of an AllTrails walk. It is a lovely spot to see some wildlife as well as the salt production in various stages. Well worth a visit if you are in Aveiro.

Free entry salt flats with some boards explaining the role of salt production in the Aveiro area historically and how it is continued by a select few to this date. It seems that March to mid-September is the season when they 'harvest' salt and the rest of the time it is flooded by the water from the canal.

Aveiro is home to several traditional salt pans that still use age-old manual techniques for harvesting salt. The practice of salt extraction in this region dates back to pre-Roman times, with early records referencing salt production even before the formation of the Portuguese nation. In 1808, the opening of the Boca Nova (New Inlet) allowed for better salinity control in the canals, revitalizing the local salt industry. These salt pans are also ecologically important, serving as vital wetlands and bird habitats. Beyond producing natural sea salt, the area is now also valued as a destination for eco-tourism and environmental education.

Ostraveiro – Unique Location, Mixed Experience Ostraveiro is definitely a special place with a wonderful atmosphere. Getting there by boat ride makes the experience unique and sets the mood for something memorable. The staff was polite, but unfortunately also quite distracted—several times I had to go and place my order myself, which took away from the overall enjoyment. As for the food, the oysters were very good and fresh, but the rest of the seafood was disappointing. The calamari were tough and difficult to chew, and the other dishes didn’t quite meet expectations. Overall, Ostraveiro is worth visiting for the location and ambiance, but the service and quality of seafood need improvement to match the uniqueness of the setting.

We had such a lovely dinner at Ostraveiro! We arranged a small boat transfer with the restaurant and they picked us up from a nearby marina. We went for dinner but I’d love to have lunch there, in the relaxed outdoor setting by the water, with a trampoline and grassed area that the kids could run around. (I wish I’d taken some photos!) We sat in the beautiful dining room, by the window, overlooking the water and enjoyed a variety of the freshest oysters, mussels (green lipped) and a razor clam & shrimp stew that was absolutely more-ish. The wine list is great and the staff are so friendly. I absolutely recommend popping here for lunch or dinner if you are nearby!

I wouldn't risk my health eating oysters at this place again. Actually, I will never eat raw oysters any time in the future as I have been traumatized for life. We went to this place on Saturday 23 of March, a group of 4 people. We all had to suffer from severe stomach pain, dirreah, nausea, and vomiting for an entire week after eating oysters. The staff are very friendly and the place is unique too. But that doesn't add any value when the food is the most important, and in this case, it has failed to a point where one can only question what is happening behind the scenes at this place? Take care out there, and don't fool yourselves into something this risky.

Great museum to learn about the culture and history of cod fishing in Portugal. The museum is well laid out and accessible for all ages. We really enjoyed the exhibits and the live fish aquarium was a great end to the visit.

A very good museum about the first Portuguese porcelain manufacturer established in 1824. The museum features a wide array of pieces from the brand's inception up to today. Magnificent pieces to be admired and to showcase the quality and evolution the brand. The museum also tells the story of the factory workers, their lives, their activities and how the founder Pinto Basto created an immense infrastructure so they could have good quality, living and working. We have a guided tour by Ana, who did an excellent job at accompanying us through the museum's several sections. There are also 3 shops at the grounds, a cafeteria and a church steeped in History.

We go there regularly. It has the feel of a little village, beautiful and so serene. Love their artful porcelain. Missed the cafe last time as they were on their holidays. So check for that. Just nice to have a coffee there.

Nice university facilities. I was there as a participant in ICC 2025 (International Camp on Communication and Computers), which this year took place in Aveiro, Portugal. In my opinion, the level of accessibility was average. Still, the buildings are beautiful. The dormitory rooms were very basic, and unfortunately, there were ants inside. They also have shared restrooms, which may not feel particularly safe if you are a woman. You need a card to enter and exit the building, which at least provides security against external risks. The distances are huge, and in winter it probably gets very windy here. If you don’t want to walk a lot, make sure to get a bicycle, otherwise, good luck with all the exercise you’ll need to do!

If I could rate a ZERO I certainly would! Visiting Porto in Portugal & took a 1/2 day bus tour to Aveiro & Costa Nova. Before leaving Aveiro & an hour ride back to Porto, our tour guide informed us the public restroom was unavailable. Museu Arte Nova was just down the street.The tour guide accompanied my sister & I there to ask if we could use the restroom given the circumstance. They refused though the tour guide sternly reminded them by law it’s required. After using their facility both of us politely said “Obrigada” (thank you) to the ticket person who FROWNED at both of us & looked downward. As a result, I’m giving this review to inform them they should be more tolerant of potential customers who could potentially provide 5 star ratings for their kindness & generosity. Not good Museu Arte Nova!😟

We came across the restaurant by chance. Don’t be put off by the downstairs bar. Upstairs is a gem and a really great value restaurant. Fresh fish, rice with beans and tomato rice were all excellent. Desserts looked great too but we were too full!

Lovely restaurant run by a young Brazilian couple: Maiara is at the front of the house and her husband in the kitchen. The menu is exiting and has single and sharing options. We shared olives, bread, butter and a plate of ham, all lovely. My octopus rice was so delicious that we would come back for more immediately. My husband had an excellent steak. Service is charming, relaxed, we seemed to laugh a lot while talking to our lovely hostess. Good wine.

Some unique dishes stand out from the void of common favourites. They still use Aluminium pots to prepare some dishes, for some reason I forget why I felt it important to mention this? 5/5!!!! Fantastic little place. The grilled bacalhau was the best we ever had (as a local) paired with migas and roasted potatoes. The Samos was exquisite! What a delicacy! A gem of a place. We will definitely come back Great service

Staff went above and beyond for service, very accommodating and friendly! Food was amazing, particularly loved octopus and monkfish (pictured below).
