Beaches
Psili Ammos Beach is a family-friendly destination located in the southern part of Thassos. It offers a mix of fine yellow sand, pine trees along the coastline, and shallow emerald-green waters, making it great for kids. The beach provides both comfort and captivating vibes with its cozy dunes and tamarisk thickets.
Beautiful beach with fine sand and clear water. Sunbeds range from €30 to €50 with food and drink included. If you’re planning to visit this beach, make sure to come early as it gets very crowded. There is plenty of parking space above the beach.
Milos — Google review
One of the best beaches I’ve been to in years. Staff were great and eager to help. Family friendly with shallow water stretching for good 100ft/30m. It was clean and calm at the time we visited. The parking is across the street, not organized, first come first serve basis (dirt and rocks, not paved). As long as you are not blocking the road, you won’t be bothered.
Srdjan B — Google review
The beach is absolutely amazing – very peaceful and relaxing, with soft fine sand that feels wonderful under your feet. The water is crystal clear and full of colorful fish, making it perfect for swimming and snorkeling. A true hidden gem and definitely a must-visit spot when you’re in Thassos!
Anna D — Google review
Sure! Here’s a polished and enthusiastic review you can use for Psili Ammos Beach in Thassos: ⸻ We recently visited Psili Ammos Beach with a big group of friends, and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the crystal-clear water, the vibrant yet relaxed beach vibe, and the overall organization of the place. The frappes and smoothies, also the fruit salad were refreshing and delicious, perfect for cooling down under the Greek sun. The food was fantastic, with a variety of choices that pleased everyone in our group. What stood out the most was the excellent service - friendly, fast, and always with a smile. The staff truly made our experience even more enjoyable. The beach itself is one of the most beautiful on the island - fine sand, turquoise waters, and great energy. If you want to chill, Psili Ammos strikes the perfect balance. If we had to point out one downside, it would be the wasps during dinner - a bit annoying, but honestly, it didn’t spoil the overall experience. Everything else was so good that it’s easy to overlook. Highly recommended - Psili Ammos is definitely one of the top beaches in Thassos, and we’re already planning to come back!
Ral S — Google review
Sandy and shallow beach, has space for your own sunbeds but beach bars are also okay. After 18h the there is no crowd but the sun sets around 19:30. Good for taking pictures west of beach on the rocks.
Nikola P — Google review
Beautiful and clean water. Soft sand. Some rocks here and there but mostly soft golden sand. The sun-beds we stayed on had a minimum consumption of 50€/2 beds. It gets quite crowded throughout the day but in the morning it was ok.
Ionela M — Google review

Potos Beach

4.3
(2274)
Beach
Potos Beach is a standard Greek beach located about 50m from the port. It offers organized water sports and has a clean shoreline with some areas of small rocks near the sea. The beach gradually transitions from shallow to deep waters, making it suitable for both kids and adults. While the seafloor is sandy, there are sunbeds available for rent at various bars and tavernas along the beach. Visitors can enjoy drinks and food at affordable prices while lounging on the beach.
The beach itself is not the best actually, but I liked it. What I wanted to share is the cruises. I went to one this morning and it was the best experience. The staff were so nice - they gave me the best alcohol and food. The places we visited were incredible. There are a lot of stops where we were swimming. Totally recommending.
Даниел В — Google review
Potos Beach is a lovely spot with a mix of sunbed areas and free space to lay your towel. The sea is calm and great for swimming, and there are a few bars nearby if you want a drink or snack. Water sports are also available if you're feeling active. The beach has a relaxed vibe and is mostly visited by families — perfect for a peaceful day by the sea.
Andrijana A — Google review
Potos is amazing. It is the ultimate touristic place. There are hundreds of Slavic countries and a few Greeks. The place is full of tourists' acommodation, supermarkets, bars, coffee shops, restaurants, entertaining activities, medical centre and the marvelous beach. The beach is perfect for little kids and families. The bars are located on the beach, so the atmospere is wonderful in the evening. The prices in most places are expensive but this is a common problem in most Greek islands.
Ellh C — Google review
We liked Potos very much here on this island. It is a great place central located to everywhere. You will find a lot of restaurants, shops, markets and bars here during your stay. So when you don't come with a car you will find everything you need here. You can visit the neighbourhood as well via walk. Bty we didnt swim in this beach but at night we walked around to enjoy the view or have drinks or dinner.
Sibel D — Google review
Potos is a nice little village, where you can meet a lots of nice people. Beautiful place with clean, long beach and delicious food.
Stefan M — Google review
Depending on where you are setup on the beach is how much crowd there is. The sun beds are 15€ for two and you can order drinks for that amount. The water is clear, the beginning is pebbles with algae but then is sandy and the water is shallow a long way.
Makedonka V — Google review
Very crowded beach with lot of kids. Sea and sand is great. There is planty of sunbeds and great bars. Not so expensive.
Miloš D — Google review
The water gradually goes from shallow to deep which makes it great for both kids and adults. The seafloor is sandy, however, the whole beach has sunbeds so if you prefer your own umbrella, chairs, etc. you have to go past all the beach bars. On that part of the beach, there is still sand, but there are rocks in the sea.

One of the most popular restaurants is Taverna Irene, owned by Kostas and his family since 2002. Known for its renowned reputation as an ambassador of the island, this taverna attracts a large number of customers who are drawn to its friendly and pleasant atmosphere. The staff is well-informed about the island, providing valuable recommendations for sightseeing. Moreover, their exceptional generosity and warm hospitality make visitors' experience even more memorable.
Absolutely stunning! The food is very good, perfectly cooked. The portions are huge and pricing is very cheap. Their house wine is great! It can get very crowded, but definitely worth it.
Alexandru P — Google review
A solid 3.5/5 The food is absolutely fine, nothing fancy but hearty. The staff welcomes you like an old relative and instantly make you feel at home. You’re practically on the beach which enhances the whole experience. Even though it’s touristy, it’s still a great place to grab some lunch/dinner. Don’t forget to throw a piece to the cats!
Yoteca — Google review
Lovely atmosphere and great food. We ordered calamari, shrimp, and cod fillet — all portions were generous, and each meal came with a side dish and salad. It gets very crowded in the evening, so I recommend coming for lunch to enjoy your meal more relaxed, without long waiting times.
Jelena M — Google review
We went to Irene Tavern in Potos for dinner and had such a lovely experience! The service was a smooth team effort — one person seated us, another took our drink order, someone else took the food order, and another brought the food. It all worked seamlessly. The staff were incredibly kind, the food was absolutely delicious, and to top it all off, we got a tasty ice cream on the house at the end. Definitely recommend!
Andrijana A — Google review
I’m really torn about this place. The food was absolutely excellent and the wine was also great, but the service experience left a lot to be desired. We had to wait a long time, and it felt like the staff prioritized filling tables by seat numbers rather than respecting the order of arrival. For example, groups of four were seated ahead of us, even though we were just two people with a baby. After a mild argument with the staff, we were finally seated, but then ignored for quite a while. Later, one of the waitresses noticed we had a baby and apologized, saying she hadn’t realized — otherwise, she wouldn’t have let so many others ahead of us. In the end, the food was truly outstanding, but the way the seating and service were handled made the experience very frustrating.
Nikola A — Google review
Very good food, smooth service and the host is very friendly and has a great vibe! Delicious dessert was on the house.
V N — Google review
Unfortunately the food wasn't great. We walked in, were seated, ordered drinks. The waiter brought the wrong drinks but because he opened one he wouldn't take it back. So ok no big deal. We ordered a lot of different dishes and they were ok. Not great but the steak inedible. Though and tasted like it was frozen not fresh. We couldn't eat it and as opposed to being nice about it decided to tell us the price they pay for it. Which is odd and irrelevant. Looks better than it is.
MV. V — Google review
Very large portion , very nice stuff. The products seem to be refrigerated. I did not find in the menu fresh fish. Many products are fried not grilled. Overall very good experience, best prices in the area. The restaurant is fully booked on lunchtime and dinner time.

Day 2

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Trypiti Beach, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Molly‘s art. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Trypiti Beach

Public beach
Trypiti Beach is a decently sized beach located just 5 minutes west of Limenaria. It offers plenty of space and never feels overcrowded. The beach has clear waters, making it ideal for snorkeling, and there are lots of fish, rocks, and even a cave to explore. There is also a tunnel cave connecting the sea and shore on the right side of the beach.
The most beautiful beach on Thassos... Yes there are lots of rocks when you go in the water, but that is the beauty of it, you can see amazing fish if you put on your goggles. Not very busy usually, large free zone, there is also a small aqua park in the hotel near by that is wonderful attraction for kids.
Marina P — Google review
A beautiful wide beach with unique rock formations, creating a scenic backdrop. The waters are clear and full of fish, making it a great spot for observing marine life.
Lyubomir K — Google review
We loved this beach. It's very wide with plenty of space. The beach is generally very calm and chill. Lots of parking. There is nudist area which is not separated from the non-nudist area, but the beach is so wide that nudists can have privacy and it doesn't bother the non-nudists. The entrance to the water have large stones which is great for snorkeling, but it's also not difficult to go into the water.
Marija P — Google review
after the comments we decided to visit this beach, but it was a big disappointment. almost the entire beach is paved with rocky surface, slippery in places - quite dangerous. the beach was almost empty - explainable why. i do not recommend (it was in the top 4 best beaches - inexplicable)
Aysun Y — Google review
Peaceful little beach, not at all crowded (in August) with sunbeds at 15€, 20€ (the ones in the photo) and the baldachin ones at 25€ — which include 2 drinks / coffees. The entry in the water is mostly rocky, and the sand near the water line is rocky as well, but you can find sandy patches where you can get in easily. The waterpark there is great for a few days fun with the kids, and we had free entry as their hotel guests. There are multiple showers, a really good tavern and you can easily reach Trypiti Cave. The guy taking orders for the sunbeds was even speaking a little romanian to make us feel welcome. You can pay with card.
Corina L — Google review
Sea shoes are a must, there is a wide area covered in stone layers at sea entry level. Strong waves can make you lose your balance easily. Beautiful water color
Tina T — Google review
The best beach so far, crystal water, nice views, enough space for everyone, there are a bar and a restaurant, a free zone and everything you needed.

A very beautiful and pleasant cove next to Trypiti beach. It’s an excellent spot for snorkeling. There is a cave that leads you to different small coves that can’t be reached by foot or car — only by sea.

Amazing beach with clean, blue water. Nearby a lot of bars and taverns where you can try some delicious local food or buy drinks in reasonable prices. People here are very nice, almost everybody speaks English, cards payments are available

Loved this beach. The sand was perfect, the entry in the sea was smouth and we could park the car under the trees, so it wasn't in the sun all day long.

Nice place, especially in the heat. You have all the shade and cool water. Beware of sea urchins (little spiky balls) on the rocks further in. The spikes are hard to get out. They break easy. Best to take out what you can and leave the rest in. Your body will get them out.

Restaurant
Nestled on the eastern side of Limenaria, Palataki Restaurant is a charming spot that offers not only delicious cuisine but also stunning views. This historic building, known as the 'little palace,' was once the administrative center for a German mining company in the early 20th century. Today, it stands as a testament to Thasos's rich history and provides visitors with breathtaking panoramas of Metalleia beach, Athos—the revered 'Holy Mountain'—and the picturesque village below.
This is a nice terrace with view towards port. Unfortunately we arrived here on heavy rain and didn’t have much landscape to enjoy. The service was good, the waiter was speaking both english and romanian. A comfort for our parents that don’t speak english. The food was tasty, I had the fried shark and was very tasty. I tried shrimps from the friends and they were also tasting good. Overall the experience was fine. Dor drinks I had the banana juice, was a first for me but left a good impression. I dearly recommend the place.
Andreea D — Google review
The mixed sea food plate was delicious. It had a good amount of fried calamari, mussels, and shrimp. The fried zucchini was also great. The serving size is more than fulfilling. The waitress was also really helpful and attentive. She came around a couple of times to check everything was okay. 3 stars for atmosphere because of visual pollution caused by parking lot.
Alper A — Google review
We had a very good time until the end or our meal. We arrived at 20:00, before the restaurant was full. Our waitress was attentive, patient and answered our questions and recommendations. The portions were large, tasty (except the napolitana pasta that was lacking in flavor) and we had a very enjoyable evening. To be noted that not all the main courses are brought simultaneously. Unfortunately service at the end of the meal ruined our evening. From the time the tab was put at the end of our table no one came over. We asked to pay by credit card. They claimed the system was not working. We asked to check again if it was possible, no one got back to us. We waited for almost 10 minutes. I ended up emptying out my cash to pay the bill just so we could leave. We were told prior to our meal that as is customary in Greek restaurants they give small on the house dessert to end on a sweet note. None was given. Unfortunately we left with a very sour note. Service is until the moment the customer leaves the restaurant.

Absolutely amazing experience at Palataki! The owner was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food was outstanding – everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. From the fish of the day to the souvlaki, every dish was a delight. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic and delightful Greek cuisine!

We love this place ❤ Accidentally we decided to dinner here and we have been amazed by the food, variety, huge portions, tasty food and very caring staff. My husband and I eat glutenfree and the lady sitting us was very careful with our order and food. Even the complimentary desert was delicious brownies and ice cream for the rest of the family and fresh fruits for us, eating glutenfree. We came already twice and we'll definitely come again. I highly recommend visiting the Palataki Restaurant.
Vessela K — Google review
Great staff, great food. They are very efficient even when all the tables are full and they offer cold water and a small dessert on the house. Must take into account that some foods are difficult and take longer to make especially at peak hours, but it's worth it. Even if the menu doesn't specify all meat dishes come with fries and tiny salad but you can also ask for extras. The place is also really nice, you can sit in the shadow during the day. The mix grill and mix seafood platters are heavenly!

During our one month stay in Limenaria, this was our most visited location. All the food is fresh and delicious and the prices are very good. The owner - Fanis - is a great guy, very friendly, helpful, with very good stories to tell. We really liked Kostas who is just as amazing, very helpful and funny, bringing joy to your table along with the best servings. We tried many things from the menu and from our favorite dishes, we can highly recommend you to try : - Fish soup - Moussaka ( the best in town, and trust me, I tried it in all nearby places in one month ) - Garlic bread + fish roe salad (taramo salata) - Feta stuffed peppers - Sea food 🦐 - Buiurdi - Kleftiko - Sweet wine 🍷 - All their desserts 🍰 We also had the pleasure to meet the kitchen staff and they were very kind as well. Hope to see you soon guys ! Horia & Bianca

If I could, I would give 10 stars to the staff! Everyone is fantastic – always smiling, fast, kind, and working together perfectly. No matter how busy it gets, the food comes out very quickly, and when it arrives… it’s simply amazing. Everything is fresh and incredibly tasty! One of the busiest taverns in Limenaria. When some many people visit you restaurant you must do something right. And indeed this tavern delivers. The food is very tasty, the service is very friendly, quick and professional. In spite of being so many people in the tavern, we really didn’t have to wait too much for the food. We have been there twice to test different things and we liked all our dishes.

With its excellent taste, freshness, and generous portions, it offers great value for money. A solid choice if you appreciate quality and flavor.

Very delicious and generous portions. The staff is very polite and the atmosphere is great. Maybe you have to wait a little bit until a table is free but it definitely deserves.🫶🏼 P.S maybe the prices are the lowest in the area

Nestled by the shimmering waters of Limenaria, Mplionis is a delightful pastry haven that beckons dessert lovers from near and far. This charming patisserie offers an array of delectable treats, including mouthwatering cakes, heavenly ice cream, and crispy waffles that are perfect for pairing with your favorite frozen delights. The ambiance is infused with the warm hospitality typical of Greece, creating a welcoming atmosphere where every visit feels like a celebration.
Was met by the cutest, polite full waitresses. I got myself a cappuccino and some desserts from there which were so worth their price. Everything was amazing, the atmosphere, the food, and the service. My favourite was the ice cream triangle which I got to bring back some old memories of when I first tasted it. Will totally come back here again

A bit disappointing I must say - based on the reviews and their window it seemed quite delicious, but definitely didn't meet the expectations. Ice cream is not good, no difference in flavors at all. Overall the waffle was Ok but nothing more than that - for that price there are much better options.

Indulging in the ambiance of a Greek dessert paradise, an enchanting feast for the senses. The aromatic embrace of pastries, the warmth of hospitality, and the joyous melodies of Greece. Sweet delights linger on taste buds, a tapestry of ancient flavors and modern twists. A true celebration of culinary artistry and cultural richness. Opa! 🍮🍯🇬🇷 I greatly recommend this restaurant.

Very tasty cakes but a bit pricy. The taste was ok, serving was nice, they have a place near the sea where you can serve. I recommend this place for a moment to remember..
Razvan T — Google review
At first we waited for the waiter for 15 minutes just to take our order. We were told that we can’t order anything from the menu (waffles, crepes, omelets) because there’re too many people even though many tables were empty. We ordered coffee and some premade desserts and it took them 30 minutes to bring it to our table. Funny thing - they brought the wrong things and we had to wait for another 15 minutes for our order. The food is actually good but it’s not worth the wait. Can definitely recommend if you have nothing better to do with your time!

Restaurant
ITALIAN RESTAURANT MAESTRALE in Thasos is highly acclaimed for its exceptional cuisine, surpassing all expectations in terms of both quality and quantity. The appetizers are delectable, while the lobster stands out as a fresh and authentic delicacy. The bill is remarkably reasonable given the orders placed, and the service provided by polite and attentive staff is commendable. Additionally, the restaurant boasts a stunning ambiance set amidst picturesque surroundings such as Tripiti cave and a beautiful garden.
A lovely mix of Italian and Greek flavors with fresh, well-prepared dishes. The seafood is especially impressive – the grilled fish and seafood pasta were both delicious and clearly fresh. Staff were friendly, helpful, and made the experience even better. Restaurant Maestrale offers a perfect blend of Italian heart and Greek soul. Whether you're in the mood for a fresh seafood dish, a comforting plate of pasta, or simply want to enjoy a warm, friendly dining experience, this place delivers. Highly recommended!

We went at the restaurant on a Friday evening. It was our last night in Thassos and I wanted to eat something really good. I had in mind pasta with shrimps so an Italian restaurant seemed to be the perfect choice. The terrace view is amazing. The place looks really nice in the evening light. It also has a playground. The waiter was very thoughtful. But for me all the magic disappeared when I got my pasta. I realised from the first look that the shrimps were overcooked...but the really bad part was the taste. Tha pasta was soaked in olive oil. The sauce had no taste (execpt for the olive oil, of course). It was worse than the pasta that I make at home... They have to understand - in Greece - that not everything must be an olive oil based dish. On top of that, the shrimps were poorly peeled(!). On the other hand, my husband was satisfied with his lamb dish.. At the end of the dinner we recieved - from the house - a shot of Limoncello. We will not return here to eat - maybe only to drink something.

Special Italian dishes, amazing place surrounded by the nature and close to the sea. Relaxed music and kind service from the hosts. The perfect atmosphere. We have been there a lot of times, and beyond the famous authentic italian pastas that we eat each year now we tried also fresh fish and the experience was more than tasty. All dishes were amazing and every day we had a hard time choosing! Thank you for the hospitality guys Keep going!

It used to be one of my favorite Italian spots in Thassos, with fresh ingredients, delicious pasta, and attentive service. Unfortunately, my last visit was a real disappointment. The pasta was bland and completely lacking flavor, the shrimp hadn’t even been cleaned properly, and the salad was just as tasteless. The portions were smaller than I remember, and even the staff seemed rushed and indifferent. Such a pity — it used to stand out, but now it feels like it’s lost its soul.
OLGA T — Google review
The food was amazing as always! We chose to eat there every day we stayed in the island at least once! The pasta is always great, authentic Italian flavors, cooked like it came straight from Napoli or Rome! Fresh fish from the island cooked and grilled amazingly! We couldnt stop eating! The service was incredible and the atmosphere is non comparable! Thank you so much cant wait to come back next year!

I had a wonderful experience at Italian Restaurant Maestalle, Tripitti Beach, Thassos. The food is delicious, the service is perfect, and the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with a beautiful garden overlooking the small grotto nearby. Dining here feels like being in both Greece and Italy at the same time, even though you’re on Thassos. I highly recommend this restaurant for any meal – it’s a perfect spot to enjoy great food in a unique setting.

The beach is amazing, HOWEVER the restaurant is awful. We ordered a club sandwich (something you can usually never go wrong with) but surprisingly it was HORRIBLE! The fries were cold and tasted like rotten fish, the sandwiches were cold, with rotten eggs and also wet bread…Honestly, it was terrible! Yes, you can enjoy a swimming pool which they offer, but DO NOT EAT THERE

Absolutely great place, quiet, clean, good food, fast serving, the waiters are very nice and helpful - we even had jokes about guessing our nationality by looking at us, a very nice way of making us feel good and comfortable. Went there several times during our vacation, the view is very nice, you can see the sea and a high green hill and the atmosphere is relaxing. Price wise the place is very friendly, fair for all pockets. Both cash and card are accepted. Good place to come with family and friends, we sat near a table with 7-8 family members, from very small kids to grandparents. Enough street free parking spots exactly near the tavern.

Outdoor Activities
Medalia Beach is a popular destination for day trips from the Greek mainland, especially during the warmer months. It is one of Thassos' best beaches and offers a unique experience with its wild and atypical features. The beach is divided by a small grotto and is perfect for snorkeling and admiring colored stones. Additionally, visitors can explore the remnants of an old metal factory nearby, which gives the beach its name "Metalia.
Nice beach and water, not crowded at all. The price for the 2 sunbeds is 10 euro. You have food at the bar, the club sandwich is very good, the drinks are also good. You also have a place where you can go for a little hike and see a beautiful view.
Bianca A — Google review
Two sunbeds and one umbrella are 10 €. There is plenty of space, but there are slippery rocks and you might need water shoes. The beach bar has soft drinks/coffee/beer etc and a few snacks/sandwiches/salads, but not a large variety of food.
Ilioiu F — Google review
The beach is mostly pebbles, entering the water there's a big stone that you're going to be walking on, and it's slippery, so better bring your water shoes. There's parking, coffee, drinks, and some food (mostly sandwiches). Loved the space between the sunbeds.
Teo T — Google review
More of a wild remote beach, 10 euros/set, nothing included; you need water shoes, it has a cliff you can climb and watch the most amazing sunset (perfect spot for it); we stayed for the afternoon and it was just perfect, but if you cannot swim maybe is not the best beach; it has a bar too and a bug parking lot, but hard to get there without a SUV
ANA-MARIA N — Google review
Best place for snorkelling with lots of fish. No sand, only pebbles on the beach. A bit of slippery rocks when you enter the water. 10 euro for two sunbeds. Metallia Bar serves food.

Metalia Beach is a truly lovely and unique spot. Before you reach the beach, you’ll find large stones carved with zodiac signs — a fun and unexpected touch. There’s also a small tunnel that leads to another beach, which adds a bit of adventure to your visit. It’s a peaceful place with beautiful views, especially at sunset. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re exploring Thassos!
Andrijana A — Google review
Nice calm beach with enough dpace between sunbeds which we really liked. There is also enough space to place umbrellas and towels on sand. Renting sunbeds is 10 euro and there is shower and toilet which are free of charge. Water was clean and nice. Ice latte/ fredo cappuccino is 5euro.
Natasa R — Google review
A very beautiful beach, given the space allocated to each set, umbrella and 2 sun loungers. The price is €10/set. Access with your own drinks is allowed. They also have a bar where you can buy drinks and food. The beach has a toilet. There are stones in the water in the first part, then after only 10m it is only sand. To cross the stones they have arranged paths with sandbags. I recommend this beach!

The Crown of Limenaria, also known as the Honey Factory near Skala Prinos on Thassos Island, is a fascinating destination for honey enthusiasts. Visitors can explore the mechanics of honey production and purchase various honey products. Additionally, the monument offers a serene atmosphere with stunning views of Metalia Beach and the city. It's recommended to visit early in the morning or at sunset to avoid the heat.

A pleasant stop besides the walk/jog track from Limenaria to Potos/Pefkari. It has a nice view, a bench next to the monument and the place gives Assassins Creed vibes as if when you come to it at dawn you will unlock a constellation for bonus skill points. From the asphalt road go down to the dirt road and follow the path for about 150-200m until you see the bench and the monument will follow shortly. The main road also has a sign for an old bar/restaurant which leads to this place.

Hi, Last night we were heading towards a nice place we saw during the day, with a big poster announcing a retro party in that evening. A lot of pleasure and excitement on the way. There was written that at 8 pm is starting some cocktail happy hour ( from 8 pm till 10 pm, if I remember correctly). So we arrived there around 8:50 pm, thirsty for some good cocktails and also for party. First impression was great, great music and great atmosphere, one guy offered us immediately a place. We chose the place, we ordered 3 cocktails and an energy drink and that was the last contact with a waiter. I would have thought about that when they brought us the drinks, they also brought us the receipt. The drinks they were ok, containing enough alcohol quantity and also well prepared. The problem was that after serving us , for about 1 hour nobody came to ask if we need anything more , even if we tried to make eye contact or by putting the empty glasses at the edge of the table nobody was interested about us. They came across our table many times but not even one question about if we want something more to drink. They were in a “hurry” all the time, they didn’t have time for us, probably because they invest more time in “fishing” their customers from the street.

There are cheaper cocktail bars but you get what you pay for. The cocktails here are the best, would much rather pay slightly more and have a decent cocktail in a lovely setting.

It‘s a beautiful place to relax and have a drink or coffee. It doesn’t matter if it‘s in the middle of the day or in the evening. In the evening the DJ is just amazing, and invites you to let loose and just start to dance. The cocktails are delicious and they‘re not afraid to mix you something if you have special wishes. The service is excellent and the restrooms are extremely clean. And of course the view is impeccable!
Charlotte G — Google review
Honestly, one of the worst places we could have chosen to go to on that part of the island. The drinks tasted awful, like there wasn’t any alcohol, and when we complained we were met with a very nasty attitude from the waiter. He replaced the drinks and then insisted we pay for all the drinks (even the ones we didn’t drink because he took them away after bringing the new ones). We asked to speak to the person in charge or a manager and he was saying he was the manager. Thank god after a lot of back and forth a blonde woman from inside the bar diffused the situation. Definitely do not recommend, it ruined our night.

This beach is a true hidden gem. If you consume at the bar, you get an umbrella with 2 sunbeds. Despite its size, it doesnt get crowded. The water is amazing and in my experience this was the best beach for snorkeling. There is plenty of fish in the water and I even saw an octopus. Dont waste your time with the trendy beaches in Thassos, this one is really get for people who like swimming and snorkeling and relaxing. The tavernas nearby are good, but pricy.

I love this beach.Very close to restaurants and the city centre. Only downside is that there is an underwater portion where there are sharp and big rocks.

Great beach if you love snorkeling, and the view is amazing, when the sun sets that's the best time to take pictures.
Ionatan G — Google review
Review for middle of July 2023, a Sunday afternoon: - beach is quite small, and not that well maintained / cleaned. There are a lot or rocks in the sand near the sunbeds. Beach and entrance in the water is mostly with fine sands, however after 2 meters of water (in length and NOT depth) there are only rocks and boulders. Rocks are slippery, green and best way would be to use water slippers. Rocks are rounded but the risk of slipping is quite high. -the are sunbeds, the staff is not forcing you to order anything, there are 2 shops nearby. - entrance in the water is not steep, kids will play just fine with their floating devices. - I saw a lot of people snorkeling and some people (locals) fishing with their rods in the see. - there are some free parking spaces, but you need to also be lucky. Reaching the beach with the car is doable but the streets in the village are quite narrow, 2 cars encounter on the streets will make both drivers navigate carefully. Towards sunset, you can head out towards the cliffs on your right, and witness the red sunset. The taverns nearby are not high end, meaning food taste & quality is greater than marketing/appearance. Would definitely return here for the taverns, but not the beach.
Dragoș V — Google review
Small, harbor beach, with sunbeds and umbrellas, surrounded by taverns and views of buildings. There is a wider and more comfortable beach 5 minutes away. Better go to the taverns, they also have a lunch menu :)
Stars F — Google review
The beach is small but good. You have an opportunity to use the sunbets and umbrellas if you are client of some of the taverns on the street. There is a mix of sand and little stones on the shore. In the water you can find different little fishes. The water is clear. 😊 you can catch the sunset. 🌅
Mihaela S — Google review
To be honest beach is small and you have everything around, restaurants, shops, bakery, but beach is little a bit dirty and most important enter in the water is so bad because have really big rocks everywhere. I will never come back here.

We visited this place today and were very disappointed. The bread for the gyros they brought us was already half eaten by previous customers. The mentally unstable owner started explaining to us that this is how they serve it (bread half eaten by previous customers). We would never visit it and would never recommend it to anyone.
Krum T — Google review
Budget choice - Good place for eating Gyros on a budget - all sorts and sizes. Menu is rather limited to traditional Greek fast-food, but portions are big and taste is good. Everything is fresh, Serving is fast, staff is accommodating. The place gets crowded during evenings. Recommended for multi family budget dinner
Cristi D — Google review
So, if this is the best gyros in Thassos that means that Thassos gyros is the worst in the world. It had no particluary taste except for the shitty ketchup that they use that covered even the taste of the tzatziki that was inside. After they take your order and bring the food randomly (probably as the dish is ready and not get cold, which can be considered a good thing), they kind of forget about you. Oh! I remembered, they forget about us after we sat down at the table. So... you eat, outside is a crowd wanting to get in, you cannot find a person to call for the check for a long long time.

Restaurant
Kostis, a restaurant in Limenaria, offers incredibly delectable dishes at affordable prices. Their grilled squid is notably priced at 13.5 units of currency, compared to other establishments where it can cost up to 18. For an exquisite taste experience, I highly recommend trying their beef stew with orzo pasta and the delightful combination of octopus and pasta. These dishes are absolutely scrumptious.
Great food, great serving, i liked everything. Food s taste is awesome.

Souvlaki was very good. But that's all. The rest of the food was very dry and burned. We also tried gyros, but it had a plastic taste.. The view is pretty. The serving ok,but per total, not a nice place to have lunch or dinner.

Extremely delicious food for one of the best prices we found in Limenaria. The grilled squid was 13.5€ for references, while in other restaurants we paid up to 18€. I can highly recommend trying the beef stew with orzo pasta, the octopus and pasta here. They were absolutely delicious. The shrimp in sauce was not my favourite (the sauce was a bit bland) and the fried zuchinni got quite oily as they were cut very thinly instead of bigger slices. The restaurant also has a beautiful terrace right on the beach. Very nice to sit on at night, right next to the sea. However, be aware, if you are sitting there the service can get slower.

Very nice atmosphere, very good food, nice people. We have spent 70 euro for 3 persons and everything was really nice. The food is very tasty. I have added pictures with the menu(june 2023). I recommend this place because of the nice greek atmosphere.

Nice place with terrace above the beach. Good Greek food - fish and garidas Saganaki were very delicious. Almost none olive oil in Greek salad and no complimentary desert with the bill. In some areas of Greece this is considered a crime.

They have a table for 2 hidden by a tree, best table in the house! Food is delicious and service is great.

The place looks really nice, however food was nothing special. We ordered grilled calamari and pasta bolognese. Pasta was really bad, not cooked well and barely enough sauce to mix with pasta. Calamari over grilled. Service was nice, and the owner guy was sitting next to our table and watching for our reaction constantly.

The food and is absolutely fantastic, I ate here one of the best Saganaki Octopus ever. The owner is always around, making sure everything's fine for you and shaking your hand when you're leaving. Typical greek hospitaly which is hard to find nowadays. I recommend this place.

Greek restaurant
ΤΟ ΛΙΜΑΝΙ, a traditional Greek tavern highly praised on Google, offers a diverse menu featuring grilled sardines, authentic Greek salad, shrimp, cheese-stuffed squid, octopus stifado, breaded zucchini, and traditional tzatziki. The restaurant receives top marks due to the consistently delicious food and unique dried octopus preparation method called "liasto." Additionally, patrons can select their preferred fish which will be cooked perfectly.
I am visiting this restaurant for years. Always good quality of sea food... Excellent service and kind staff... love it!!!

Cozy little restaurant with a story. It’s in the old part of Limenaria, right under the old palace and next to the harbor. The menu is short and sweet, the waiters are super friendly, quick, and explain everything in detail. Portions are pretty big, the food is tasty, and prices are totally reasonable for the area. There are tables right by the sea, which is a huge plus. Food comes out fairly fast too. Would definitely come back.

This is our favorite tavern on the island. The food is delicious (they had fresh fish every day, some of them caught by the owner), the people extremely nice amd the atmosphere cant't be compared with any other place. One evening there was also live music (old greek songs). We left Thassos with a lot of memories from this place.

Delicious and fresh seafood, pleasant service and best dessert we tried on Thassos!

Best fish tavern in Thassos ! I ate Saint Peter fish in white sauce and a bit spicy....Oh my god !!!! It was absolutely amaizing ! I cannot describe in words ! Also the fish soup is very good. Also the staff are nice and kind people.

Octopus was very “rubber-ish” ( they told us it is an old recipe to serve it this way with their drink UZO ) . We tried another 2 different restaurants around and they had the good stuff , octopus was soft , tender , cooked on the grill !
Tavi T — Google review
We seated outside and table was invaded by lots of bees as soon as foods come to table. We even couldn’t finish fish and decided to let them eat. My son couldn’t eat his pasta. Staff tried to help us but nothing worked. (August 1st) Foods are average. Environment is average.

We haven't been in the hotel, but during our vacation we have been visiting Stelakis tavern for lunch and dinner. Food was delicious, service is great! Wonderful experience.

Honestly I have had the best time in Stelakis!! What really made the experience even better was the kind and warm staff, such an excellent service. The location is amazing and peaceful. Cannot wait to come back

We didn't stay there. We just went to eat something. Food was delicious and plenty of it. Service was fast.
Buglea L — Google review
Had a wonderful lunch at Stelakis! The atmosphere was laid-back and inviting — ideal for a leisurely midday meal. The salad was super fresh and perfectly seasoned, the octopus was tender and full of flavor, and the tarama tasted truly authentic. The tirosalata was rich and delicious, and the ice-cold beer served in frosty mugs was the perfect complement. We don’t have any photos because we devoured everything way too quickly — it was that good! A fantastic spot for a memorable Greek lunch!
