If you only have 1 day to spend in Morgex, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Morgex is a small Alpine town in the Aosta Valley, known for its scenic setting near Mont Blanc and traditional stone-and-wood architecture. It’s a base for outdoor activities in every season, from hiking and mountain biking to nearby ski areas such as Courmayeur and La Thuile. The area is also noted for its high-altitude vineyards producing Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle, and for easy access to regional attractions like the Roman remains in Aosta and the thermal baths at Pré-Saint-Didier.
With favorites like Parco della Lettura, Trattoria Lo Creichen, and Mont Blanc Adventure Park, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like La Locanda and Ristorante Trattoria Da Beppe so you can get the best taste of Morgex while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
Mont Blanc Adventure Park is a fantastic destination for families and adventure seekers. Nestled in the beautiful Aosta Valley, it offers a range of activities such as climbing, scrambling, ziplining, and breathtaking views of the countryside. The park provides an excellent opportunity to explore the local ski resorts, thermal spas, national parks, and walking itineraries. Visitors can enjoy warm Italian hospitality at chalets while indulging in adrenaline-pumping adventures.
Polite and well spoken English service. We had coffee and walks to the bridge overlooking the valley. The staff was helpful with showing us where to go… clean toilets and nice rustic sitting area.
Gili Y — Google review
We had a lot of fun, even though didn't have time to complete all the levels. It was also very affordable attraction IMO, and very fulfilling.
Gadi W — Google review
Zip line is fantastic. Courses are ok, enjoyed an afternoon here, would visit again if in the area.
Shaun H — Google review
Real fun for the whole family. We followed the standard route with five trails: blue, green, yellow, orange, and purple, just in time before the rain. A pleasant experience even for beginners. Parking was a challenge (since the place was full), but we managed. We recommend eating beforehand or bringing something to eat/snack, as the restaurant serves food during lunchtime; afterward, the only option is a simple toastie.
Jefferson A — Google review
Waited 45 minutes for a guy to come help us on the zip line. Not service minded at all.
Kristoffer N — Google review
Good guidance from the staff and an extensive selection of obstacles. Nice cafe as well

Hiking Trails
If you're looking for a unique outdoor experience, the "Barefooting - Percorso sensoriale" is an adventure that invites you to explore nature in a whole new way. This sensory path allows you to walk barefoot over various natural surfaces like stone, wood, grass, moss, mud, water, and sand. Spanning a considerable length and well-maintained throughout its course, it offers plenty of shaded areas where families can relax while children play safely nearby.
(Translated by Google) Sensory path to be done barefoot, crossing different types of flooring. It is quite long, I was afraid of finding a 20 meter long path, but instead it is a complex, well-kept and well-maintained structure. Almost everything is in the shade, including the tables in the green space where you can rest while the children have fun in safety. Dogs are prohibited from entering the area for obvious hygienic reasons (even if some careless people entered with their animals).

Completely disappointing. The whole route takes about 15 minutes (going slowly) and is totally uninspiring. You might as well walk barefoot from the parking to the little park opposite and you will have the same effect.

A nice play to spend an hour. More of a “stop here if you’re passing” rather than a “travel here for this.”. A short walk to the “reading park”

I can't express how fantastic this place is! I went two days in a row because I loved it so much. The energetic team from Chile creates the perfect vibe. They're chill, straightforward, and their jokes keep you entertained. After a quick shower, you get a fun safety talk filled with jokes. The rafting is exhilarating, suitable for most, though expect some muscle soreness if you go all out. The expert guides share tips for spins, facing big waves, and even going backward off a waterfall! Clear commands like forwards, backwards, and stops make the experience engaging. I loved it so much that I brought my family the next day, and they loved it too! For €20, you can get a USB stick with 30-40 amazing photos and videos. We even got ours for free on the second day—a nice touch. If you're in the Aosta Valley, don't miss this. Whether you're a pro or a beginner, this adventure will leave you with unforgettable memories and a desire for more.

Have to say the rafting experience was beyond our expectations. We have been to Costa Rica for rafting, must say this superseded our previous trips. Emanuele the owner was very professional and their guides “squadra” were fun and cheery. I went with my wife and son only 11 years old and he had a blast! 6 KM of rafting on Mont Blanc River Overall it’s a thumbs up for River Explorer! Wishing you guys successes ahead.

Jacob was a great guide and kept us all in the raft despite unusually high waters. The tour was very well organized and great fun. Just the right amount of adventure for a team bonding activity or family trip. Very enjoyable - and the view of the mountains was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

The company answered all our questions by email in a prompt manner both before and after we booked. We were a group of 5, all beginners and didn't know quite what to expect. We spent a memorable afternoon with our guide Mathias who patiently took us through all the safety procedures and accompanied us on two trips down part of the Dora Baltea river. Highly recommended!

On arrival and not planned we was greater with friendly staff who looked after us from start to finish, they were very professional and made us feel very welcome and safe throughout. The showers after was nice and hot and the price was good value without a doubt.Definetly use again if I was in the area.

Guests rave about the fantastic rustic dishes, including various grilled meats and wood-fired pizzas that are sure to satisfy any palate.
What a lovely gem of a place! We stayed in Courmayeur and this is just a short drive away and so much better than many of the touristy places to eat there. Fantastic, rustic dishes, delicious pizza, lovely wine and excellent staff. Would definitely recommend and visit again when staying nearby or passing through. If they put tables and chairs outside in the summer on the little square, I can only imagine it would be idyllic. Loved it.

Nestled in the heart of Morgex, Ristorante Trattoria Da Beppe is a true gem that captures the spirit of Aosta Valley's culinary heritage. From rich venison ragu to creamy gnocchi paired with fondue, each bite is a celebration of authentic Italian cuisine.
I went twice to this restaurant while I was in Morgex. I ate good, the food is delicious. They have variety choices and almost are typical dishes from that area. The restaurant is quite big, there are 3 rooms where you can sit and eat. I went without reservation and was lucky to find a place, but I would suggest to call before going to make sure there are places. The staff are friendly and helpful, the service is fast, prices are affordable, the place is clean and above all the food is delicious. I highly recommend this place!

Friendly staff, but I don’t understand the positive Google reviews. The food was really not good (really not). The menu is quite simple (mainly gnocchi and polenta), which makes it surprising how they managed to make such tasteless, industrial-style dishes. Really disappointing compared to typical Italian standards for an osteria or trattoria.

What a wonderful little restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had great cups and seats for kids. The food was great home cooking with lots of local cheese. You better have done some hiking during the day, if you come for dinner. For the healthy side, they have wonderful grilled veggies.

What a little gem of a trattoria! Absolutely delicious local food, excellent service and decent prices. The bruschetta lardo is just amazing and the range of polenta dishes offered are one more delicious than the other. Since it’s local food, be aware there’s only red meat (including a delicious deer ragu) offered - no chicken, fish or vegetarian. I just wished they would dim the lighting a bit - it’s dazzlingly bright

Excellent workers restaurant. We looked for a restaurant and saw a place where the construction workers who worked in the area eat. We went in and were not disappointed. This place is amazing ! The owner went way out of his way to use a translation app to help us order food . The food was amazing , the wine was great , and he really made dining with our two year old daughter easy ! Grazie mille 👌👌👌

Vachérie is a charming destination that truly shines when it comes to celebrating special occasions. With its inviting atmosphere and cozy private rooms featuring fireplaces, it's perfect for gatherings. Guests rave about the delicious food and exceptional service, particularly from the attentive main waiter. The owner, Gianluca, is known for his warm hospitality, making every visit memorable. Whether you're part of a large group or enjoying an intimate meal, Vachérie offers authentic local cuisine at fair prices.
The food was delicious and the owner was super kind with us, we came with a table of 12 people and they did a fantastic job to accommodate us. If you are looking for a authentic place in the region this is where you should go. Hope to visit you again !

The local food was very good: trout carpaccio, homemade pasta with ragout, selection of cheese. Service though was chaotic, we received same questions multiple times and we felt left to ourselves for a good moment. Waiters discussed a lot among one another and we could hear people shouting from the kitchen. Price a little high for what we got, but in the acceptable range.

We've been here to celebrate my birthday. The atmosphere is really great. We also got a private room with the fireplace inside. Food is good, service is great (especially the main waiter!), just e little bit too smoke in the little room because of the fireplace.

The food is not good at all! The portions are ridiculous for the price. The guy was very nice but nice service does not compensate for the food.

I come in during working hours, a guy comes out, looks at me like at an annoyance that woke him up from a great nap. Ask him if they're open, after a minute of thinking he says "no" and goes back to his curtain-covered room. Thanks, I feel welcome here

With all my respect to the owner, it was a horrible experience. If you have a special occasion, avoid going there and being annoyed by a horrible service. Food-wise it was ok.
