Ski resort
Outdoor Activities
Ski & Snowboard Areas
La Plagne is a renowned ski resort that offers a variety of winter activities, including a terrain park and options for dining and entertainment. The journey to the mountain road is surprisingly manageable, with expansive views along the way. As you approach the ski villages, you'll notice modest ski lifts catering to local day visitors before encountering more upscale signage and accommodations as you delve deeper into La Plagne's extensive skiing area.
A stunning ski resort! The natural surroundings are breathtaking, and the slopes are fantastic. There is an extensive variety of runs suitable for all skill levels, ensuring everyone can find something they enjoy. The resort offers a wide range of activities beyond skiing, so there’s always something to do. Waiting times for lifts are generally minimal, which is a big plus. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, making it an ideal place to unwind and truly enjoy skiing. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great skiing experience at La Plagne!
Ivan Š — Google review
The ski resort is very large and you can have fun regardless of your skiing level. There are also many hiking trails that allow for wonderful snowshoe hikes. The natural surroundings and views are fantastic.
Diana M — Google review
Arguably one of the ugliest ski resorts in the French alps, however, this is in stark contrast to the excellent ski area, fast lifts and varied terrain. If you are an avid skier or snowboarder this is one of if not the best resort in the alps to visit.
Jon S — Google review
This was my first time skiing in the Alps. I highly recommend this resort to all skiers ⛷️ and snowboarders. You will love the slopes, people, and food.
Casey S — Google review
Great ski resort. The blue slopes are really nice, good lift access. Lots of restaurants but need more vegan options
J T — Google review
Amazing ski resort! Several ski slopes and many possibilities for other activities. The bobsleigh descent is unforgettable.

Beautiful well designed apartments for skiers and walkers (depending on the season). Beautiful views of the mountains and lifts (depending on which side you're on I suppose). The apartments are compact but with 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bunks and a double sofa bed, with ease you could fit 8 people in ours. Galley style kitchen is best suited to one person cooking at a time so pre-plan to share the cooking duties if possible. Good extractor fan and each apartment is well appointed with plates and cutlery for 16 (2 meals a day) and a dishwasher as well as breakfast bowls and a host of utensils. We were only short a grater and a potato masher (apparently not French essentials). There a multiple lifts to various parts of the buildings as well as a lot of basement bootrooms/lockers to store your boots and skis and keep your apartment dry. The complex has a code entry to the pool, when you want access - daytime only (closes at 7) and no access on Saturday (change over day) with a new code each week. A 5 minute walk to the local Spar shop makes this a very convenient location with a Restaurant next door to the Spar as well as one opposite the entrance to Lagranges. The Ski and board hire shop is spitting distant from the complex check-in with convenient ski racks located around to stash your skis whilst you buy passes or snacks. The ski-pass system is very flexible at the resort with options for beginners being circa €35 a day, half day options, full resort passes, multi-resort passes and a pedestrian access pass to access the top of glacier via bubble lift for only €8! Superb. The resort is at 1800m so well above the snowline with easy access up to 3000m for fresher snow more often. Snowed again just as we left so if you're looking right now it's perfect for a last minute get away (9/01/23) enjoy! Back again for New Year 2024 - snowed every day so far and the trails are well groomed. Swimming Pool has been renovated as well as the wooden features across the resort.

Great ski resort especially if your using a motorhome parked right next to the main run back to La Plagne. Electric at the end of every row (which didnt trip once) and water is located at a hut at the entrance of site (short slippery walk). The while of thus network is mostly made up of about 70% blues 25% Reds and 5%blacks although many of the blues are more red like. Some great places to eat around the area but it is pricey.. €9-11 a pint !!! Food is around normally UK prices. The roads leading up the mountain to Villages was always mint ( the French know how todo it) the only time we had to put chains on was at the start of the aire as its not as well maintained as the main roads. I'd defo go back to this site and la plagne.

Plagne Aime 2000

Ski resort
Plagne Aime 2000 is a high-altitude village offering a variety of activities for all seasons. The main building, known as the Snow Ocean Liner, stands out with its avant-garde design and offers easy access to shops and amenities. This location provides slopes suitable for all skill levels, along with ski rentals, chair lifts, and even mountain biking and hiking opportunities in the summer.
Greatest ski resort, I have been with family. We stared in studio, so advise just do your grocery/food shopping before climbing up the mountain. 👍
Jagjot S — Google review
De rooms are ok. But it’s so easy in morning to start. Right next to the slopes and lift.
Conrad H — Google review
Great place for all sorts of snow related activities. Note: "Plagne Aime 2000" is NOT the same as "Aime La Plagne" which is on a very narrow road at the other side of a very deep valley about 30 km away via tortuous hairpin bends
Bob D — Google review
Great place to stay, enjoyed the balcony view over Mt Blanc
Albert H — Google review
Spa shop ski hire ,ski passes a few restaurants. Bars, Lessons right out side. Ski In out. All you need. And a cable car to lower village at night
Dr J — Google review
A little at the edge of the great ski station La Plagne. Perhaps even shorter waiting times for ski lifts. Very well communicated with La Plagne Centre via Telemetro. The building "Residence Aime 2000" is old and would require refreshing, but on the other hand, everything you need is on site (ski school office, restaurants, bars, supermarket, ski rental, etc.), and most of all - you're there for being outside!

Stayed in apartment J16, with friends in J116 (opposite) for the New Year. Amazing apartments and unforgettable views. Fantastic building with 5restaurants and 7bars. True ski in/ski out.

VVF La Plagne Montalbert Paradiski ®

Holiday park
Nestled in the heart of the stunning Paradiski area, VVF La Plagne Montalbert Paradiski® is a charming chalet-style retreat that perfectly blends comfort and convenience. This delightful property features a cozy restaurant and bar, an inviting outdoor pool, and a rejuvenating spa to unwind after an exhilarating day on the slopes.
Really enjoyed the meals and the staff are helpful and funny. Only problem is that it can get a bit noisy with children running around playing
Joseph B — Google review
We stayed in this hotel for a skiing trip in March 2022. We booked MMV but got VVF, however, both were new to us so we did not notice the difference. However, overall the hotel is a bit older then what we are used to (we normally do Villages Club du Soleil for Skiing) We received an upgrade in room, for a 2-persons room to a 6-person room. That was nice, lots of space. The only disadvantage is that the main bedroom is then upstairs with quite a steep stairs so if you need to use the toilet during the night you have to use those stairs. The bathroom is spacious for French standards. However, I could not stay in this apartment with 6 persons, 4 would be max. The staff is very friendly and we liked the bar, good atmosphere. Also the wellness was nice, however you need to make a reservation and it is closed on many days, you can only stay 45 mins. No idea if this was for Covid or always the case. The food is of varying quality, some meat and fish were incredibly nice. However, some things are prepared way too early and are dried out under the heath lamps of the buffet. Also in the morning the scrambled eggs were always dried out. One morning they ran out of bread and croissants, everyone had to wait like 20 mins before new stuff arrived, very annoying. The main problem with the food is actually not the food itself but more the complete lack of atmosphere in the dining room. We do like long dinners with candlelight in a cozy atmosphere. This restaurant is just functional, terrible furniture, zero atmosphere. Feel really only as functional to get food into you body, not to really enjoy it. Missed opportunity. The dining room consists of 2 parts, I do not understand why they have not created off season one part were children are welcome and another part where they are not welcome, so the people without kids can enjoy dinner in peace and quiet. We have had club hotels where they did that. Montalbert is a bit remote in the La Plagne area. We are average skiers and it took us 1h 40 mins to get with the Vanoise Express to Les Arcs. Back takes longer as you need more telesieges to get over the mountains back. Additionally, this hotel is unfortunately not ski in, ski out, you need to walk 150m with your shoes and skies over the road to reach the slopes. The ski-lockers are really old and not heated. So you need to take your shoes to your room in order to let them dry and warm up for the next day of skiing. So overall, we enjoyed our stay, had a lovely vacation but I would not really quickly return to this hotel.

Very attentive staff, top-notch bedding and quiet bedroom area (not a sound!), perfect catering with something to satisfy all tastes on the menu, very nice bar area after skiing and then in the evening, a well-being area of very good quality also very pleasant after skiing. An ideal location, very practical ski room 100m from the slopes. In short, really too short, to do again. (Translated by Google) We came with 2 adults and 3 children aged 10 to 4 years old outside of school hours. We had read reviews of the vvf on the internet and were worried. In the end it was a good surprise! A hotel certainly with decor that is sometimes a little dated but which adds to the charm of the place, and goes with the mountain style. Our room was a duplex, large and clean. We had a problem with the bedding, which we reported. They changed the bed 2 hours later! What responsiveness, well done! The meals are good and varied, busy until the end of the service (we were out of school, so the hotel was less full) of course, everything is perhaps not homemade but frankly, we were not disappointed. The children always found foods they liked. The activity leaders were available to play with the children at the children's club, take them to ski lessons and bring them back. It's so practical! The hotel is a little higher up from the station but it is easily accessible. The toboggan run is nearby. And the resort has everything you need for a successful stay. Bars and restaurants, a supermarket, the ESF, ski lifts, entertainment and regional product stores. We will return to the station and if possible to the nuthatches.

(Translated by Google) We returned from a week with family (from December 21 to 28, 2024) and we were more than pleasantly surprised by this village club in this magnificent village of Montalbert. Contrary to what we can read in other reviews and mainly in the 2 preceding mine, written by young Dutch people, the buffet catering was varied and the dishes were of high quality. Always the choice between fish, meat, side dishes and pasta. Desserts, fruit, various cheeses, country breads and baguettes, unlimited wine.... and even a microwave to warm up your plate just in case. We feel the good will of the cooks as well as the waiting staff to serve us and facilitate the service. A few minutes of waiting are sometimes necessary between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. for a table to become available. It is true that the sound of the animations is loud, too loud, but once discussed with the animators, the sound became more reasonable. The relatively spacious rooms are not very new but they are clean and the bedding is recent and comfortable. Ditto for the lounge / bar which is typical "80s" but that has its charm. The bartenders make excellent cocktails. All the staff are smiling and willing to ensure that your stay goes as smoothly as possible. The ski rental service directly in the village is a plus, as is the wellness area. The changing room is cold but as soon as you arrive in the "sauna / hammam / jacuzzi" area, you feel good there. The value for money is unbeatable and I advise the complainers to move on and leave the nice people to themselves :) Too bad it’s so far, otherwise we would go more often! Thank you to all the staff for your availability and your sense of welcome. I didn't give it 5 stars for the aging aspect of the hotel (which remains very comfortable and welcoming) and for the excessively high noise level during the snack events.

(Translated by Google) During my recent stay at VVF, I was confronted with several inconveniences which considerably tarnished my vacation. When I arrived, I noticed that the accommodation was dilapidated and seriously lacking in maintenance. The equipment was outdated, and the cleanliness left something to be desired. Additionally, the staff, although present, seemed unconcerned with the issues encountered, providing poor customer service. The entertainment offered was rare and not very engaging, not meeting the expectations of a holiday club stay. Finally, the quality-price ratio was far from satisfactory, taking into account the services offered. I do not recommend this experience and suggest future vacationers consider other options for their stays. De plus, le personnel, bien que présent, semblait peu concerné par les problèmes rencontrés, offrant un service client médiocre. Les animations proposées étaient rares et peu engageantes, ne correspondant pas aux attentes d’un séjour en club de vacances. Vanoise Express is a cable car that offers a smooth and comfortable ride with stunning views. It provides easy access to cross between Les Arcs and Les Coches, offering a fantastic experience for visitors. However, it's important to plan the return trip before 3pm as some lifts stop working after that time. The cable car is known for its efficiency and speed, making it a great way to explore the Paradiski area.
You get a great view between of the valley. Very easy access to cross from Les Arcs and Les Coches. Also, if you are planning to cross, remember to plan your return no later then 3pm (15.00) some lift start to stop working after that time, and if you miss you crossing, you will have difficulty to get back to your stay.

Shop and most staff useful and nice. Security guard didn't like me. Tried to remove my backpack whilst several other people were allowed to keep theirs. Quite obviously singled me out either because of my age or appearance, be careful of him if you're young and a bit different from the norm. When I asked and confronted him why he'd singled me out and non of the other 7 people with backpacks (I counted) him and another older male member of staff were very rude and mocked me. Thankfully one of the very nice female member of staff came tpy rescue and apologised for their behaviour.

Le Schuss, located in the Plagne Aime 2000 base building, is a surprising find for an evening out. This restaurant offers traditional French cuisine alongside international classics like burgers and ribs. The warm and colorful wooden interior creates a cozy atmosphere, with the added option of dining on the terrace during lunchtime. Visitors can expect a menu featuring pizzas, burgers, and Savoyard specialties while also catering to families with a kids' menu available.
Atmosphere is very like a nice london pub, felt like a touch of home! Me and my dad both had the goats cheese salad and fries, and my brother had the spicy meat pizza! Plus 2 cocktails and a coke it came to €77, which is a much better price than a lot of other places in that building! The salad was amazing and the drinks were lovely and strong, we’ll definitely be going back on this trip!

Some strange barman was in a right mood today. Had a red bull can in my hand while looking at the menu, was about 90% finished and I was about to put the can in my bag and order a couple of crepes when this lad coughs at us a couple times, rolls his eyes and just says ‘no red bull, we sell red bull here’ continued staring at us, rolling his eyes shrugging his shoulders and acting as if we’d just (…) on the floor and sat there like it was okay. Fair play if the bloke said ‘please finish that outside or that’s not allowed in here’ etc. I would’ve happily done so, but we’d been in there about 10 seconds when he started coughing at us. Heard good things about the food so will probably go back when he’s not there - if you do go look out for the grumpy chap with long straight brown hair as he’ll probably spit in your food. Merci !!

Very small portions. No sauce in the children burgers. Cold food. We were all hungry at the end of the meal.

Easily our favourite in Aime 2000. The most friendly service, excellent crepes and a great menu. Plus a terrace in the sun for a refreshing beer

Nice place, reasonably friendly staff. Burgers and pizzas are fine, but the tartiflette was on the bland side.

Carlina Hotel Belle Plagne is a refined mountainside hotel offering chic rooms with balconies, a spa, and a pool. It also includes high-end residences and luxury chalets for an unforgettable experience in Belle-Plagne. The hotel features a gastronomically adventurous restaurant run by chef Thibault Schach, offering a varied menu with locally sourced ingredients. Additionally, the hotel's prime slopeside location provides easy access to ski hire services and ski lessons.
The hotel is in great location with very good ski in/out . The family room was spacious with even a coffee machine and complimentary water and snacks. The room was clean, warm, with great view to the slope side. The bar was very cozy, the waiters were helpful. The dinner was very good and tasty, the breakfast was also very good with big variety even for kids. Also liked the ski room with lockers that was very comfortable and close to go out and ski. For us the pool area was cold so used it only once. Also liked the service of free shuttle, that helped us a lot to bring ski equipment, and also go the the center. Loved the hotel , it was our first time, after many years going to Plange center hotels, so will definitely come back next time.

Magnificent stay for our wedding anniversary where we also really liked the little note left on our bed accompanied by a small present. It was perfect from start to finish. The welcome was impeccable thanks to a very friendly team at reception, when relaxing in the spa, or enjoying a delicious dinner and stopping by for a last cocktail before returning to the room. How can we not regret this stay when we also finish with a magnificent breakfast with a view on the mountain and an omelet prepared in front of you by the chef. Thank you again for everything!

Staff all exceedingly friendly and helpful. Good to have hot drink making facilities in bedroom. Food of high quality and sufficient choice. Hotel spotlessly clean. Spa a bonus though suggest the settees are replaced with the individual style chairs. Most afternoons the cups in the spa needed replacing as all used though staff quickly sorted this when asked. Could ski in/out from approx 10 m from ski room door. Would definitely recommend and stay again if in the area.

This ski in/ ski out hotel is very nice and in a great location. We had a room with a loft and a view of the snow from our window. There were two beds (one upstairs and one downstairs). The bathroom with tub was separate from the toilet. The staff is extremely courteous and friendly. Fanni and Christopher would happily greet us for both breakfast and dinner every day worked. I felt like the employees really enjoyed working for this hotel as some of the employees would bring their family to the hotel even when they were not working. Also, the food was delicious. Every meal around dinner time looked like a chef prepared it. I also loved how they prepared crepes every day at the bar. My favorite is the Chantilly.

Lovely hotel, our family room was spacious and the service was great. Breakfast was plentiful with delicious fresh omelettes. Unfortunately our room was on top of the bar and the toneless karaoke kept us and our baby awake. The one thing I want from a hotel is a good night's sleep, so this was disappointing.

Great small hotel... friendly service, v good breakfast and dinner in restaurant. The location is beautiful and mostly away from the ugly La Plagne tower blocks... For skiing it is right on the piste.. I was there in summer and it is fairly quiet location, short walk to Belle Plagne but v quiet in summer A good location for cycling (so long as you ok to come back up the long La Plagne climb end of each day!)

Really appreciated the teams flexibility dealing with our mis-booking. The leadership team is excellent all round, on the front desk, in the bar, in the breakfast servery and the restaurant. Always made you feel really welcome. The bar area is also a very relaxing place to hang out with a great fireplace. Very convenient location to ski in and ski out. Our non skier really enjoyed the hotel and location too as it gave her a sense of inclusion with everyone else. Would definitely go back.

Restaurant and bar area amazing. We had a family room and it was ‘ok’ for the price. View was good but the room was quite basic. Coffeee machine etc nice touch. The staff in the hotel are/were amazing. The bar and terrace are sensational. Wonderful ski in and ski out location.

Wonderful and friendly staff even when the restaurant was very busy. The food tasted great and for a reasonable price as well. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area! Oh and also their wines and coffees are great too!

We stayed in Les Coches but ventured down to Monchavin for a change and got the free bus back. Hidden gem! Had the Tartiflette and a couple of beers! Great service, very good prices and a lovely atmosphere.

One of the nicest steaks I've had in a long time. Staff and venue 10/10

If they are on the menu, don’t eat the false morel mushrooms. They are thought to be a cause of the high incidence of MND in this area.

Nestled in the heart of the French Alps, La Roche de Mio is a delightful spot that offers breathtaking views and a variety of ski runs suitable for all levels. This gentle bowl surrounds Belle Plagne and Plagne Bellecote, providing an ideal playground for beginners and timid intermediates with its abundance of easy blue runs. While more experienced skiers may find fewer challenges here, it’s perfect for those looking to enjoy a leisurely day on the slopes.
Very nice place, the view is amazing. The ladies are very nice. Patient en helpful. The beer is a little bit more expensive, but you are on a mountain with a lovely terrace.

I visited La Roche de Mio restaurant and while the food was ok, the view was absolutely awesome! However, the queue for the restaurant food was very long, but thankfully the snack queue was much shorter. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Overall, a decent dining experience that I would recommend for the view. 4 stars!

What a nice view that we can get from here!. Not sure if its Mont Blanc that we can see from here but worth the money ;)
Nhi N — Google review
Had a pancake & vin chaud. This was €10 so seemed reasonable. The man serving was nice but the toilets were abismal. Very difficult to get in with ski boots on as almost need stand on toilet to shut door & floor was not clean, probably due to the difficulty getting in. First unpleasant toilet. Probably just have food or drink but go elsewhere for the toilet. Would have been 5* except for that. Staff pleasant too.

Great views from the top veeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrry cold compared to the lower altitudes
Szymon S — Google review
In summer, not bad as a snackbar to have a drink and take a rest. but if you wanna enjoy a real restaurant, it's not here.
Hongbo L — Google review
Super tasty food and spectacular views so definitely worth checking out. There is multiple skiruns starting and connecting here so good spot for a group meetup if you're not necessarily skiing together. You just need to be prepared for a long wait in both food and drink queues.
