We went to get a few plants and came back with more then I planned 👌🏼 three bags of 50L compost for £15 Food is beautiful from here and staff are lovely, first time taking my daughter and she loved it, came home with another paw patrol toy and picked some flowers 🌺
Kelly H — Google review
Lovely places, had lunch in the restaurant unfortunately there was a problem with the cost of our food it was advertised on both boards at £11.49. But charged £14.49 . Only noticed when half way through the meal , safe to say the apologies were totally inadequate as had we know the price we would have chosen the carvery instead.
Tina T — Google review
Fantastic Garden Centre with lots to look at. Esp. Seasonal offerings homewares and clothing. Good Quality plants, shrubs and trees. We always visit for the delicious Carvery, but this week we switched it up and went for Breakfast. We were not disappointed. Fresh, tasty and hot. Every component was perfectly cooked and the Latte was the nicest i've had out in a long time. We also took some Cheesecake home with us which was scrummy. Well worth a visit and the Restaurant is reasonably priced.
Charlotte C — Google review
I really like this garden centre. Over the years it has increased it's non garden range hugely. I just love wandering around the outside. The plants are always well presented. The staff are efficient, friendly and helpful. However, my visit today shocked me. Most dogs seemed under control. The garden centre extends a welcome to dogs and their owners - but as usual there those who abuse the system. I saw pools of dog wee in the household department. Two lots at bedding displays, then a line of wee, out of the same department, through the outside doors, for about ten metres, ending in a dollop of p--!!! Surely the owner must have witnessed this behaviour. Shame on you - for spoiling other customers enjoyment. But I will not deduct a star because the garden centre doesn't deserve any blame. It's still a wonderful place.
Dawn W — Google review
Absolutely great garden centre and so much more. Plenty of free parking.
Gerald B — Google review
Although some things are quite expensive it is a lovely well stocked place to visit. Some bargains to be had in the clothing department. Restaurant is also a must. Lovely food. Well kept store and staff very helpful and pleasant.

Bought a few pots in sale 75% off.. Lovely plants reasonably priced. Also had a nice lunch. Friendly helpful staff. Even returned on our way home for another planter (and couple more plants) Oh they are getting ready for Xmas.. Gorgeous displays.

The site also features a museum showcasing rural life in Lincolnshire, along with shops and dining options. Visitors can explore the unique windmill, purchase flour milled on-site, and enjoy the coffee shop. Really nice friendly place. Great little shop. Great cafe. The windmill is very interesting too. Well worth a visit!
John R — Google review
The five sailed windmill is pretty unique. There is some free parking and a coffee shop on site. You can buy flour milled by the mill in the shop accompanying the mill. Most windmills have four blades but experiments were done with other numbers of blades. This is explained on posters on the site. We spent about an hour looking around and having a coffee.
Gerard H — Google review

Been coming here for 25+ years. It's always been a wonderful place. The shop has a large variety of high quality goods including, but not limited to; flour (bread, scone also), cakes, porridge oats, rolled oats and mill gifts. The mill is always fun to walk around and especially enjoyable on a warm, sunny, day. Staff are friendly, helpful and smiley.
Simon H — Google review
Fascinating and interesting place. Shop well stocked with own milled products / flours / including gluten free. Really would benefit from having guided tours as could be really educational and informative, making the visit even better. Recommend checking opening times as not always open.

Manor house

Tea house
Alford Manor House is a historic building in the small town of Alford, Northamptonshire. It was originally built in the 1700s, and has been recently restored. The house is home to an agricultural museum, as well as gardens and a cafe. It is an interesting place to visit, steeped in local history. Architecturally interesting too, originally built in the 1700.
Called in for a bite to eat and was greeted as we came through the door by a gentleman, and he explained we could eat in or outside, he then directed us into a room and said we would need to ring the bell for service. We were greeted by a member of staff who was very polite and asked what we wanted, we ordered a Ham Sandwich and a Tuna Mayo which came with crisps, salad & coleslaw and a pot of tea for 2. Well worth a visit if you are looking for somewhere to eat, and we will certainly be visiting it again next time we are in Alford. Whilst we were there we visited the museum and as it was our first time one of volunteers kindly walked around us and explained everything in detail to us. There were so many items that brought back memories for me as a child growing up, and I would say this was the icing on the cake as it only cost £2 admission and definitely well worth a visit whilst in Alford.
JANET C — Google review
We went for the up close and personal meet n greet. Exciting when 19 alpacas want the food in your tray. Staff were wonderful and as it was hot, instead of heading back we sat in the sun with coffee and ice cream. It's something for all the family that you simply have to do at least once in your lifetime.
Alan H — Google review
Visited here whilst in the area. What a little gem of a place. A beautiful place to visit and walk around, they were setting up for a wedding whilst we were there and it looked beautiful. It had a lovely little coffee shop which also sells ice cream. Well worth a visit if your in the area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and told us a lot of information about the place. Highly recommend a visit.
L L — Google review
No volunteers available today so no tours and you are not allowed to walk around on your own. No one on reception anyway. Sign outside said 'open' but it clearly wasn't. Except for the tea room. It's a shame really. There is obviously a lot of work going on behind the Manor House. I visited after reading the website which did not say it was closed. Maybe potential visitors should call first before they set off to visit. I headed for nearby Gunby Hall instead.
Rowena L — Google review
Beautiful Manor and lovely staff was a bit disappointed that it wasn't set up like a home , and how it would of been back in its 'hay day' . Garden was beautiful, peaceful and and abundance of fruit trees, plants and nature. Tea room was nice I had a hot chocolate and cream, jam scone was lovely! Reasonably priced too! They had little expeditions of cameras and radios which was nice but still would of preferred it to be set out like a manor house . To the back of property was a large barn/outbuilding with lots of old tools, machinery and other old quirky pieces. There's a stream that runs along side of the manor with birds which was a tranquil place to sit for a while. The building has some disabled access for wheelchair users but not the whole building, there are a few steps in/out of some of he rooms and a lift which takes you up 2 floors but not to top of the manor which is a shame because there were some really nice pieces up there and was set out more like how it would of been before. Nice couple of hours out there is some parking also available on site and dogs are welcome on he grounds and garden but not into the manor house it's self.
Sandra M — Google review
Great place to visit very wonderful house Lots for the young children to learn about The history of the area and Alford Manor And of Lincolnshire life. On site cafe it's wonderful lovely cakes and drinks. The staff and volunteers are very helpful and friendly. Will definitely recommend a visit to if your in the area. The craft fair was very interesting to lots of stalls selling lots of different products and local good and art and clothing.
Lee H — Google review
Quaint, full of interesting historical relics, but calling it a manor house is a bit misleading. It's a three storey house in a town with a moderate sized garden. It's good for an hour maybe if you don't rush it, especially if you have tea and a munchie before you go. Very small car park though, so don't assume you'll be able to park there.

I've been to a couple of events here now. Which have been very enjoyable. I believe they have managed to raise enough money to replace the roof in 2020. (Not that you would know it needed it, there isn't water pouring into the hall or anything daft!!)

The portion sizes are generous and the customer service is outstanding. I recently visited The Jolly Friar and had their fish and chips it was absolutely fantastic! The fish was perfectly cooked, the chips were crispy and delicious, and everything tasted fresh. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I had a lovely experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great fish and chips

We stopped here on the way to my son and his friend going to camp with Cubs. The food was cooked quickly by very friendly staff. Good value for money and delicious! Very happy with the whole experience! If we come up this way again, I'll make sure to stop here again!

Dropped in for Fish and chips on the way home from the beach with the dogs after we'd been recommended to by a couple we met camping in the Peaks. Anyway possibly the best we've had in a long time, lovely crispy batter, white flakey fish and even though they're frying new potatoes they were really good. Will definitely be dropping in more often.
Lisa S — Google review
Stopped here when on holiday nearby, chips were tasty & battered sausage was ok (very crispy batter which fell apart) and small portions as expected near seaside.
David S — Google review
We have eaten here before on our way home from the coast it was decent. This time I have never in my life had a tray arrive in what I first thought was vinegar pool at the bottom of the fish and chips, that turned out to be oil. Absolutely dripping, turned the fish over and it was soaked through and hand not been drained properly! My partner had asked for 3 trays as we have 2 kids, but the lady declined saying they could share extra trays! We will not return

Best ive had in a long time. And with a smile. Fair prices

Good food, chips coulda been cooked longer (just my taste). Quick service, good fish, reasonable prices. Recommended!
Ian P — Google review
This is a message to all chip shops. Please please when you fry the fish put them in the hot cabinet standing on the side so as to let the oil drain away rather than just soak into the bottom of the fish and batter.

Dude when I first walked in I was a little dubious, but believe me the food is top class, my partner was stuffed and had a little chicken left but didn't want to leave it, it was that nice. I had the family kebab and believe me it was certainly worth every penny, the chilli sauce was just the right heat not to hot, I am stuffed but have a little left over for lunch tomorrow. Well done guys I'm impressed to say the least and that's hard to do and to be open when all my other favs are shut . Huttoft Beach, affectionately known as Moggs Eye, is a hidden gem that beckons both locals and visitors alike. This serene stretch of golden sand is framed by lush grassy dunes, creating an idyllic backdrop for a variety of activities. Whether you're keen on sea fishing—where you might reel in mackerel or codling—or simply wish to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere while walking your dog, Huttoft Beach has something for everyone.
Wonderful sandy vast beach with easy access parking. Arrived when the tide was out but could see the beach would still offer a lovely walk for miles even if the tide was in. On our trip there was little to no wind and the sun was shinning so it made our time there that little bit more memorable. Doggies loved the space and meeting a few other friendly doggies as the played catch and ran about chasing the ball. Cafe near with toilets offering usual foods like sausage rolls, cakes and coffees etc…

It's one of my favourite beaches. There are not many places where you can park up and watch the sea. Stunning location for sunrise photography. Clean, well kept, and lots of space for dogs to run around.
Julie P — Google review
Had a great day out here this year, in Feb. Plenty of beach to walk, parking could be an issue when it gets warmer, nice cafe. Only negative, long narrow drive to get here and as usual not all dog owners respect taking their dog mess home with them , is it difficult ! This is a great winter / early spring beach venue for walks.

Moggs Eye, also known as Huttoft Beach, is a serene escape located just a few miles from Mablethorpe. This hidden gem in Lincolnshire offers visitors the chance to enjoy swimming and surfing in its pristine waters while allowing dogs to frolic freely on the sandy shores—something not found at many other nearby beaches during summer months. The beach's tranquil atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for those looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of more crowded tourist destinations.
Beautiful beach, dog friendly and is nice as it is never overly busy and the beach appears to be clean especially compared to Skegness.

A great long stretch of coast line. In a beautiful countryside location. Good Parking at various points and toilets. Dog friendly. Good for a paddle or a cold swim in North sea. Soft sand. Sea shells, grassy sand dunes. Not far to seaside towns, and pretty inland Lincolshire villages .

Unspoilt open beaches, great for a swim when the tide is up to 2 hours either side of high water. Getting the carpark app. is a bit of a faff though especially as signal strength is not that good. Toilet facilities are handy with fresh water available, good for dogs. The sea was quite silty with a scum floating on the surface, watch out for jelly fish and weaver fish too.

Nice sandy big beach for your dogs, fairly quiet for the summer time. Good amount of parking. The sea was dirty and lots of brown foam lapping onto shore so we avoided taking out dogs right down to the sea but we will visit again in the future.
Katie C — Google review
Nice beach to take dogs on, now have to pay for parking which is a shame.. have to download an app to pay which you need your card details for.. No cameras around though so can get away with it. A few cafe’s up and down the beach which is useful.
John — Google review
Excellent beach to walk dogs. Parking right next to the dunes. Miles of beach to walk. Early mornings or evenings ideal for taking dogs that don't like crowds or lots of other dogs

Moggs Eye near Huttoft, Skegness. A sunny October Friday enhanced by no crowds and few cars. Being able to park on the front is a luxury that will start incurring a charge from November but will only be £4 all day so that’s a bonus. There is a cycle route all along the top end of the beach and takes you right through to Mablethorpe if you desire. Toilets being added but there are 4 portaloos. It’s simply a stunning unspoilt beach for dogs, horses and humans. Make and bring your own food and entertainment and it’s perfect.

Nestled in Lincolnshire, the Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary is a heartwarming non-profit organization that provides a safe haven for rescued donkeys. Visitors can interact with and feed these gentle creatures while enjoying a delightful cup of coffee at the on-site cafe. The sanctuary relies solely on public donations and fundraising efforts to support its noble cause. In addition to the charming donkeys, visitors can also delight in the presence of chickens and ducks.
What an amazing place? My 2 year old loved it. So did we You can feed the donkey ( food to be brought there £1) and touch the Toilets clean Food bar - drinks/cakes and some hot food Nice little shop on site, Wheelchair/pushchair friendly Donation to get in Carpark Can probably spens and hour or 2 there

I'm a regular visitor to the Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary in Huttoft & have taken many a family member & friend here. The sanctuary really look after & care for their animals. Low entry fee of £1 but I make sure to spend at least £20-£25 on buckets of carrots, as this is a charity. There is a unit on-site that sells lots of Donkey related gifts & more, folders of info where you can read about each animals backstory & you can even pay to adopt them. A decent cafe where you can purchase drinks & food, with plenty of picnic bench seating outside. Toilet block with hand washing facilities. Wheelchair friendly. Great place with great volunteers. Lovely to see such happy animals.

Wonderful place for animal lovers. Amazing, enthusiastic volunteers and the brilliant gang of donkeys(and a pony or 2) We could not believe it was free to enter, as long as you donate for some carrots to feed the residents! A nice café onside with very reasonable prices and a gift shop to help generate funds for the sanctuary. A lovely way to spend an hour or 2 with these lovely characters. 🫏

A very well organised place, just a donations fee requested for entry, you can buy small buckets of carrots to feed them and it’s great to see the donkeys in nice open spaces with each other for company. Toilet facilities, a small gift shop, outdoor seating and food available. If you want to know the donkeys names and history you need to look in a folder inside the gift shop.

Fantastic little sanctuary hidden away in Lincolnshire!! Every donkey (and the chickens and ducks!) look so well looked after and happy. They've landed in a beautiful part of the country with a lovely team! £1 for a bucket of carrots to feed to them, 1000% well worth a visit. Will bring my partner here next time!!

We had a lovely couple of hours here. £1 entry and £1 for a bucket of carrots to feed the donkeys. Absolutely fabulous place to visit for adults and children. There's also a small cafe and a gift shop.

The On Your Marques model car museum in Market Rasen offers a thrilling experience for all visitors. Whether you're an avid adventurer or a speed enthusiast, this hidden gem is worth exploring. The museum boasts an impressive collection of model cars and other vehicles that will captivate any enthusiast. Chris, the museum host, ensures an engaging visit for everyone. Additionally, the 50m scalextric track provides a competitive racing experience to ignite your spirits.
Ideal for kids up to age of 75. Boys and toys comes to mind. The owner Chris is so welcoming and patient with the children who aren't as careful racing as they should 😏 definitely one for anyone who is competitive. Nice to sit and have a hot chocolate watching their antics. Will return

We visited as a family of 4 (2 adults 2 children age 11 and 9) and wow what a place, an absolute hidden gem! The museum hosts an amazing collection and Chris was thoroughly engaging throughout. An added bonus is the 50m of scalextric track that you can race around. The pit stop cafe had a great selection of cakes and very reasonable prices. We spent 2 hours here and all left with huge smiles on our faces, well worth a visit!

Really nice little model car museum! Lovely chap to talk with and gave the kids some tips for the scalextric racing too, great afternoon was had by all.

One of my favourite places to go in Lincolnshire. Whether you live in Lincolnshire or not I would recommend taking a trip just to see the car museum. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The model car racing is great for all the family with 4 cars. The food is very good and the drinks are amazing. If I could rate it higher I would.

Pub
Nestled in a charming locale, The Red Lion is a delightful pub that promises an enjoyable dining experience. Whether you're popping in for a light lunch or planning a cozy dinner, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. On St George's Day, I indulged in their roast lunch, which was beautifully presented with an impressive selection of well-cooked vegetables and generous portions of tender meat. The dessert was equally delightful!
Our first time at The Red Lion and it was a lovely experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing. It must be a busy pub (Friday evening) as all the tables had been reserved. We were given two hours on our table (which was plenty of time) before it had been reserved for another party. I would suggest booking in advance to save disappointment. We would recommend it to others and look forward to returning at some point. Great service, amazing food, good value, and lovely outside seating area. Many thanks to the team. 5/5 P.S. sorry about the dessert pic, we couldn't wait to tuck in. 😄

Popped in for a light lunch. As it was St George's Day there was a roast lunch on the menu so we thought we would have it. Great choice. Well presented and good quality selection of veg all very well cooked. The meat was plentiful and very nice. Decided to have a pudding and again very well presented and very nice. The service was just right and a good selection of beers. Overall a very pleasant lunch and for £15 per head great value. Thanks to all the staff who made our lunch very enjoyable.

What a absolute gem of a place . We didn't book ( we should have booked) booking recommended gets busy. We called in off chance. They found us somewhere to sit and dine after a short wait. Food i went for mixed grill when it came wow not for faint hearted, make sure your hungry when you go . Cooked to perfection food and drink top notch. Great family run pub friendly excellent service. And thank you.

Nothing is to much trouble for the staff in this pub. We were staying nearby at Field Farm with our horses, we only had our 7.5 ton horse box for transport, the bar manager picked us up and dropped us back. The food and service was excellent as well.

Lovely pub, the food we had was great. The service was brilliant too - when my toddler fell asleep before her meal they packed her food into a tub for us to take home. The home cooked chips are the best chips I have had in a very long time they were lush! Highly recommended.
Owen D — Google review
Great meal. Obviously going to be busy tonight, judging by the reservation notification on the tables. We tried yesterday but could not get a table until tonight. Well worth the wait. Wife had surf and turf, I had the pork and black pudding. We cannot fault the food, service or beer. Definitely worth a second, or even third, visit.

We went for a pre booked Anniversary lunch the staff had put some hearts and balloons on the table, a realy nice tuch.

The pub has recently been taken over by new managers and is thriving! We came for a birthday meal and the owners had decorated the table, provided a birthday card, a box of chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco. The food was lovely. We had three courses, and all were lovely. The steak pie was very good. Others on our table had the Lion burger and the steak. The steak was very nicely cooked, and tender. The new owners are really trying with the pub and it shows. There was great atmosphere. I’d really recommend the pub to anyone.

We are just back from the best experience! When they say "dog freindly", they really mean it! There are carvery meals for the dogs to eat in or takeaway! Staff were lovely and just the right level of attentiveness. Food was brilliant.. cooked to perfection and loads of choice. Prices are excellent too. Would highly recommend 👌

A table was booked for 7:30pm on a Saturday evening. We arrived promptly (4 of us and a dog) and were told that it was a 45 minute wait for food, we were fine about that and were then told to sit anywhere we wanted in the bar area. The whole pub was quiet and we couldn’t understand why the 45 minute wait was applicable. We all ordered the mix grill (2 x large and 2 x regular), a peppercorn sauce and a blue cheese sauce. After waiting for over an hour, one of the members of staff from behind the bar came to say that our meals were being plated up and would be served shortly. We must have waited another 15-20 minutes before the meals were brought out. All of the mix grills were cooked correctly and served hot. The rump steaks were the best meat on the plates! The homemade onion rings were tasty. Both of the large mix grills should have been served with a piece of liver but this was missing. We wouldn’t recommend the blue cheese sauce or the peppercorn sauce because they were too thin and not enough flavour. The mix grills were a 7/10. If I had to sum up this pub I would say that it is in need of serious updating on the inside and outside , it is stuck in the past. Very uncomfortable chairs, basic toilets and the decoration is from the 1970’s. Serves all the classic pub food.

My partner and I had an amazing meal here, I had the 16oz Gammon and my partner had the bbq ribs, the food was quality and cooked superbly. The atmosphere was great and lady behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back. Would recommend to everyone. Prices were cheaper from what I have seen around.

Fantastic Sunday carvery. The meats were cooked to perfection. We did eat at 1230pm so they were not out long. Plenty of choice. Friendly attentive staff and dig friendly. There's a playing field behind the pub, perfect to walk the dog or to keep the children entertained.

Fantastic food, highly recommend. Staff lovely & dog friendly. Portions small as you can see 🤣

Went here for a meal as on holiday and googled nearest places to eat. Was very impressed by the choice of food, really good vegan/vegetarian selection. The food was presented well and we enjoyed our meals so went back the following day to try one of the other dishes on the menu. Again we enjoyed it and would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of going. The staff are incredibly friendly and made the atmosphere enjoyable
