Waterfalls
Cascata del Toce is a large and impressive waterfall located in a serene valley, surrounded by peaks and ridges. Accessible by car, it's suitable for visitors of all ages. The area offers opportunities for hiking and alpine skiing, as well as leisurely activities. There are accommodations available nearby, making it convenient for an extended stay. Visitors can enjoy the breathtaking view of the waterfall from both the top and bottom, with plenty of parking space available.
Very nice waterfall. You can view it from the top or from the bottom. During summer or depending on how the water power plants upstream are adjusted, amount of water can be small, but at least when we visited in July, there was enough to call it waterfall and it to look magnificent.
Jussi P — Google review
Great waterfall zo visit! Especially, when the powerplant opens the floodgates. When you stand near it, t's a good way to cool down as well during hot days. Finding parking can be tricky at the base of the waterfall. Bit the top has arranged parking.

Beautiful waterfall! You can see from up and down as well.

Great walk to get to this place, amazing view of the waterfall right in the mountains. Not too strenuous to get there for a pretty basic hiker like me.
Josh B — Google review
An old trade route and wow this must have been a popular stopping point for hundreds of years. I love the way there is a jetti that allows you to feel extra close to this dramatic waterfall. the valley leading up to it has many waterfalls, more if rained. I reccomend a visit. it's up a long dead end road from beneco. but there are places to stay and great walking at good altitude after the dam and mountain hut.

Mountain peak
Monte Giove is a captivating peak that offers a stunning 360-degree panorama of Val D'Ossola. The ascent to the summit is moderately challenging, requiring some level of fitness and hiking experience. The trail presents some difficulties with steep slopes and sporadic trail markings, but the rewarding views from the top make it all worthwhile. On clear days, hikers can enjoy breathtaking vistas of numerous peaks, lakes, and valleys in the alpine region.
I reached this peak after a long and intense excursion started from Ponte that took me to lake Vannino and lake Busin, so mt Giove was the cherry on the top of my trail. Reaching the summit is quite demanding due to the steep slope and the debris that covered the trail. However all the efforts are rewarded once on the top by the magnificent view of the alpine ark. The weather was not perfect but I could observe an uncountable number of peaks, lakes, valleys in a stunning 360° panoramic view.

(Translated by Google) In August 3000 very easy, the view is not bad at all (obviously on a clear day). The path is not well marked immediately after leaving the lower busin lake (the trail merges into the grass, a few white-red signs and a few cairns). However, it is always well marked in the most difficult passages, that is, when you start to climb and become steeper: in any case, following the path there is never any large boulder to climb over, the stones are very small. Be careful of the sun, because once you pass the Miriam refuge there are no more shelters! The path on Lake Vannino remains in the shade until around 10 am. At the top there is a useful shelter from the wind made of dry stones!

The Walser Schtuba is beautifully located with a sunny terrace. Service was not overly friendly though and I was quite disappointed by the food: prices are high, portions small and the tagliatelle with porcini tasted very bitter.

Great food and drinks. Very relaxing after a nice walk around Lake. Started with a series of appetizers then finished off with a nice pasta. Especially nice with the strudel for dessert.

The restaurant has a Michelin reccomendation and it is well deserved. Great food, delicious tiramisu, super friendly staff and an amazing view, surrounded by all the high mountains. Sit back, relax and have a great meal.

Did not stay overnight, rather had a Great Outdoor Lunch. 5 star to the Bettelmatt + Pumpkin dish.

Had a really nice home made sandwich with home backed bread, walnut, local lard (kind of bacon...milder and with little meat) and gorgonzola.

Nestled in the charming village of Riale, Aalts Dorf is a delightful chalet-style lodge that perfectly captures the essence of alpine hospitality. Just a stone's throw from Toce Falls, this cozy retreat offers comfortable accommodations with family-friendly options and ski-to-door access. Guests can enjoy complimentary bikes for exploring the stunning surroundings or unwind in the inviting garden after an adventurous day. The on-site restaurant serves up mouthwatering dishes featuring homemade pasta and local ingredients, complemented by an impressive selection of wines.
Our stay was exeptional! We had an absolutely amazing time. The staff made us feel very welcome. They were attentive and really friendly. The room was cozy and warm. The food was delicious, homemade pasta, various types of wine and the tiramisu was one of the best that I have ever tried. The hotel offers opportunities for skiing, cycling, hiking... And of course, after a hard day of ski-touring all you want is a sauna and a jacuzzi. It was beyond our expectations!

Just stopped for a quick cake and coke, ended up buying cheese as well (excellent). Staff is amazingly kind, they let me charge my ebike no problem. Love these people!!

We tried the restaurant from ground floor and we appreciated their local products.
Born T — Google review
It was our favorite place before the new reopening. We brought all our guests here, because of incredibly tasty hot chocolate, strudel, panini and piadina. Now there are more decorative elements, but the food is poor... The chocolate is liquid and tastes like Nesquick kids cacao, the panini are regular, not crispy and not enough hot, aldo no melted cheese... no strudel, only some defrosted croissants... Very very disappointed, will not come anymore.

You can order breakfast in the room - great.

(Translated by Google) We returned to this Ristobar after a few years (due to covid) and as usual we ate very well! We had never been to this location but it is very welcoming. I had the fantastic gnocchi alla Igli with chestnut flour, cheese... and tomino with polenta, wonderful!!! (Original) Siamo tornati in questo Ristobar dopo qualche anno (per colpa del covid) e come al solito abbiamo mangiato benissimo! In questa location non eravamo mai stati ma è molto accogliente. (Translated by Google) We ate very well, small but characteristic place. Platter of cured meats and cheeses typical of the valley, but above all the excellent first courses, tagliatelle with venison ragout and the super fantastic gnocchi alla igli. We will definitely be back. (Original) Abbiamo mangiato molto bene, locale piccolo ma caratteristico. (Translated by Google) The place is small and quaint. The dinner was amazing: tagliolini with river prawns with cherry tomatoes and ravioli stuffed with ricotta and blueberries with a reduction of blueberries and speck. The second courses are a real delight. The owner is very nice... in short: you have to stop and eat. Non-sponsored review. (Original) Il locale è piccolo e caratteristico. Proximity is everything

Mountain peak
Blinnenhorn, standing at 3373 meters, offers an indescribable experience with its breathtaking 360-degree view from the summit. The climb is physically demanding and challenging, especially in sections with significant gradients. It's recommended to attempt this excursion after the end of July when there's less snow. While not presenting particularly difficult sections, caution is needed in a couple of passages.

(Translated by Google) The climb is challenging at times with significant gradients but does not present any particularly difficult sections, the last 200 meters or so of difference in altitude are quite slippery but there are no exposed sections. I climbed in one day but I recommend doing it in two days with a stop for the night at the Claudio e Bruno refuge (during opening periods). Even though the day was quite cloudy, from the top I was able to enjoy a wonderful view.

(Translated by Google) A group of 25 people reached the summit after an overnight stay at the Claudio and Bruno refuge, after about three hours of hiking. The weather was not ideal. This peak (3,374 m above sea level) is one of the most beautiful and panoramic in the Ossola Valley. It's easily accessible, but only suitable for experienced hikers.
