Nature & Parks
Goose Spit Park is a narrow coastal park located in Courtney, offering a sandy beach, walking trails, and opportunities to spot wildlife. It's an ideal destination for young families and nature enthusiasts looking for a relaxing experience. The park features easy walking trails that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the stunning beauty of Vancouver Island. Visitors can enjoy the wide and broad views of the ocean and mountains, as well as the opportunity to witness stunning sunsets.
Very fond of this beach. Rockier than it was 30-40 years ago but still has some sandy areas. Merlin app identified 8 different bird species. Great spot for Pokemon players as well. Lots of spawns including Wiglets, a few gyms and stops, plus a drivable/walkable route.

Beautiful drive to the park.lil bit hard to find a parking but worth visit it. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Goose Spit Park in Courtney and it was an absolutely amazing experience! From the stunning natural surroundings to the well-maintained facilities, this park exceeded all of my expectations. Firstly, the park's location is simply breathtaking. As soon as you enter, you are greeted with the most stunning views of the ocean and mountains. The beach at Goose Spit Park is pristine, with soft sand and crystal-clear water. It's the perfect place to relax, take a stroll, or even have a picnic with family and friends. The park itself is very well-designed and offers something for everyone. There are plenty of walking trails that wind through the park, allowing visitors to explore and immerse themselves in nature. I enjoyed taking a leisurely walk and spotting the various wildlife that call the park home. One aspect that truly impressed me was the cleanliness and maintenance of the park. Despite being a popular destination, the grounds were spotless and well-kept. The park staff does a wonderful job of ensuring that the park remains clean and inviting for all visitors. Moreover, the facilities at Goose Spit Park are top-notch. The washrooms were clean and easily accessible, and there were ample picnic tables and benches for visitors to use. It was evident that the park management puts a lot of effort into maintaining a comfortable and enjoyable experience for guests. Lastly, I was thrilled to find out that Goose Spit Park offers a variety of recreational activities. Whether you're interested in swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, or even beach volleyball, there is something for everyone to enjoy. It's a great place to spend a day with family, friends, or even alone. Overall, my time at Goose Spit Park in Courtney was truly unforgettable. The beautiful surroundings, well-maintained facilities, and the range of activities available all contributed to an exceptional experience. I highly recommend visiting this park to anyone looking to reconnect with nature.

Nice spot to watch the sun set and for paddle bordering/kayaking. One side is a rocky beach (water shoes recommended) and the other side is grassy with lots of sea weed. My rating is based on hanging out here and watching the sunset. For swimming, it is not the best given all the other options near by.
Kevin B — Google review
Easily one of the best beaches in the Comox Valley. Nice and close to town. Lots of sand at low tide. Nice protected bag perfect for paddle Boarding or kayaking. Also fantastic storm watching in the winter months.
Scott A — Google review
We love waking here with our dog! There is so much to see and explore. Depending on water levels you can see a lot of sea creatures. Went around looking for oysters and crabs. It’s also fun to walk on the logs and our dog found some sticks to play with. Sunsets are very beautiful here as well. Can get quite busy but decent amount of parking.
Lynne L — Google review
There is often something going on around the beach. Whether it's people wind surfing on windy days. Or there's a herring run, sea lions splashing, people playing, or a beautiful sky to to see. It's part of my community and great place to go and hang out for awhile. The first pic is of herring roe(eggs) washed upon the beach.
Terry P — Google review
Great park, don't let the name fool you. Like a wise person once told me, never judge a book by it's cover and never judge a park by it's insanely ridiculous name. Ok, she never said the latter but I think that's basically where she was going with that. She taught me everything I know about visiting parks; be on your best behavior, enjoy the views, wear appropriate protection, always ask first, clean up your mess, stay on the trails, playing in the mud is extra, tip if you had a good time and no kissing on the lips. Thanks for all the great parks advice Cinnamon, I apply your training everywhere I go.

Stunning sunset. Excellent bay for kit surfing. Public washrooms can be improved. Summer parking extremely full. Get there early. For star lovers you can't stay after midnight due to Municipal parking bylaw.

Land & Sea Brewing Company Ltd. has transformed a mundane suburban area into a vibrant food and beverage destination. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by an impressive metal sculpture of a snarling wolf, adding to the brewery's unique atmosphere. The brewery offers a variety of delicious beers and food, with options for both adults and children. Its welcoming and community-oriented vibe makes it a favorite among locals, while its small but exceptional menu consistently satisfies customers.
We had such a great experience at Land & Sea Brewing Company! Our waitress Erica was absolutely amazing!! She was super knowledgeable, easygoing, and incredibly kind. She walked us through the menu and gave us tons of awesome recommendations for things to do in the area, which really made our visit extra special. The Chicken Diablo Nachos were to die for — seriously, don’t skip them. Huge thanks to Erica for making our visit so memorable!
Milaine R — Google review
The nachos are very unique with an awesome flavor. The wings were great. While the beer was good definately not my favorite, did not have a lager. And as they say on their website parking is terrible.
Carmen M — Google review
The Chicken Diablo nachos were perhaps the best nachos I have ever had in my life. The cremo sauce on top is a genious idea and am going to try to steal the idea for at home. The beer selection is excellent and really well done with a good variety of styles and execution. A fantastic vibe inside the brewery with very friendly staff and they make you feel welcomed. Highly recommended for beer and non-beer fans alike (the food is that good).

One of our absolute favourite brewery—hands down! We’ve been coming to Land & Sea Brewing since before we even moved to the island, and it continues to be our go-to spot in Comox. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the artwork and vibe are spot on, and the food never misses—especially the bulgogi nachos, which are honestly out of this world. Shoutout to Mel and Trent, two of the kindest, most attentive servers you’ll ever meet. They’re always friendly, polite, and make every visit feel special even after four years! Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure you stop in!!! Enjoy!

Great beers and delicious food! We tried of a variety of beers, I enjoyed the porter and sour. We shared 2 platters of nachos, corn and chicken. Both were delicious. 2 trays were plenty for 5 adults. The brewery is kid friendly. They have high tops and low tables. You can see in to the kitchen and can smell all the delicious things being made. I love their branding and purchased a pair of sweatpants from their swag selection. Minimal parking on site but we were able to find in street parking across the street.
Michelle G — Google review
Best nachos of my life. And no….this is not my first time. Consistently delicious. . Huge portions, the house made hot sauce is a nice add on but not at all necessary. Beer is also excellent. Top notch service. If you’re complaining about the parking …shut up your face. Walk a little. It’s good for you and will help the nachos settle.
Jess M — Google review
My husband and I went to check this place out tonight. The guy that saw us seemed pretty great however, it went downhill from there. Disappointed with the servers demeaning tone and attitude. I was a server for years in pubs, bars, and fine dining and I have never not tipped. Tonight was the first time. Unsure if she was just having a bad night or if it is standard practice for the servers at Land & Sea to be rude. Besides poor service, the menu was limited, and the seating was uncomfortable. The parking is nonexistent. The baked wings took 25 minutes, which we were warned of prior to ordering… Seems like a pretty long time for wings… I would not recommend. There are so many other places to go in Comox where you actually feel welcomed.
Michelle C — Google review
I came here for the beer however the pizza is what will be the big draw to bring me back. Best pizza I can ever remember having? Yes, definitely. Great service as well. I just wish I lived closer however I'll make a point to recommend to anyone I hear that is going any where near Comox.

The Comox Air Force Museum showcases the history of aviation in Canada with a wide range of exhibits, including old aircraft, uniforms, medals and an aircraft engine. Visitors can take a self-guided tour to learn about the Canadian air force's past and view short documentaries with historical footage and interviews from pilots. The museum also features an old ATC tower control that visitors can touch and see inside.
We enjoyed this museum so much. The staff was so friendly and interactive. There is so much to be seen and learn about for all ages.
Julie L — Google review
This is an amazing museum. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The displays are colourful and informative. Everything from elaborate missions to quiet acts of heroism are chronicled. As history is in the details, take time to notice the small as well as the big.
Daniel C — Google review
Small from the outside but packed with plenty of local and international information on the history of aviation during war, this museum was a great stop. The museum itself is on the airbase and visiting is by donation. The exhibits cover from WWI to the Cold War and some of present day. It gives a really good look into Canada's involvement and contributions, as well as the advancements made over time. Neighbouring to the museum is the Heritage Airpark with planes and helicopters to view. A very interesting and informative museum.
Katherine H — Google review
If you are passionate about military aircraft and a wartime history observer/follower, this is a must visit location. Well done. Excellent displays and information. If you are doing research on aircraft, the library is second to none. Then just a short distance down the street is a display of former Canadian military aircraft. Outstanding. The the price of entry...by donation.
Ronald M — Google review
Great display's. A simple donation gets you a in well worth it!

A nice slice of Canadian Airforce history and training ground for the Snowbirds. Its worth the time to visit and see some classic decommissioned planes on display. Some you can even enter. They are upgrading the park where the planes are displayed. We've been there several times, particularly when friends come to visit us. Definitely worth a visit

SmartCentres Courtenay is a large and well-organized shopping center that offers a variety of stores to meet all your shopping needs. Bulk n Barn, one of the stores in the center, provides a neat and clean shopping environment with an extensive selection of items such as dry fruits, spices, flours, and chocolates. However, it's suggested that the staff should be more knowledgeable about the products and offer assistance to customers.
There is a Walmart , Staples and a best buy at this location as well as a variety of other stores. Drift wood mall is just down the Road.

Watch for items that are reasonably priced on the shelves, however the item are substationally more at the check out! I hardly ever go there anymore for this reason and they never have the items I am looking for.

Large store and parking. Shopping cars stay free but will move to pay option soon. If you know average prices you can find things cheaper here. No bags at cash register, take yours with you. Worth to show up and have a look at.

Normal WalMart with a walk in clinic;but unless you're at the clinic for 7am you won't get to see a doctor unless there's a cancellation.
RoCk S — Google review
I'm noticing that every time I shop here, prices have increased a tiny bit. Things have gone up on a lot of products by 2 to 4 dollars in just a few years. It's scary. I've cut back on my spending as I don't get as much for my money as I used to. I find myself only buying things on sale and deviating away from healthy foods in favor of cheaper options. Probably end up killing me as it's a lot of processed foods. Feel bad for families with multiple mouths to feed. On the plus side I'm losing weight because I barely eat. Who can afford it?

While visiting relatives, I was able to satisfy my and their shopping needs at this location. Shopping mall
Driftwood Mall is a bustling shopping destination that offers a diverse range of stores and services, making it a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. With popular retailers like Dollarama, Cobs Bread, London Drugs, and Canadian Tire Super Store, shoppers can find everything from groceries to automotive supplies all under one roof. The mall's layout may be a bit tricky to navigate at times due to limited entry points into the parking lot; however, the variety of shops makes it worth exploring.
The Driftwood Mall has been a long-time piece of the furniture in the Comox Valley since the days of Overwaitea and Zellers and still continues to have interesting, reasonably priced shops with a touch of nostalgia.
Stu J — Google review
No issue with the mall itself, however while sitting and enjoying the shade before heading in to purchase. The security guard on duty who failed to identify herself, or provide a valid security guard license became angry and agitated when asked to identify herself, in accordance with current legislation. The mall is amazing if you want to needlessly be harassed by individuals who feel above human decency.
Bobby B — Google review
Canadian Tire....yup the ubiquitous go to store for Canadians to get whatever they need if they're working on a project or stuff has hit the fan and they need something in a hurry. This store has the larger format, so they got a bit of everything, except wood products. I always go here for my automotive stuff because the auto staff is awesome.
Aiden S — Google review
Only issue I had with the food in the buffet was that the selection and quality was so good, I ate way to much. The service was great. I could not get my water glass half empty before she was there to top it up. Then they had this real cute robot which sang while bringing us our fortune cookies when we were finished.

City park
Puntledge Park is a beautiful recreational area with a short trail that runs alongside the river. It is easily accessible for people of all ages and abilities. Visitors may have the chance to witness kayakers gliding along or observe large fish swimming upstream. During summer, it's a popular spot for swimming and relaxing. However, it lacks a standout scenic view.
Loved this park! Playground is great. Lots for the kiddos to climb and swing and slide on. The river is the main event though. We tossed rocks in the river for an hour or so and could have stayed all day. Nice and quiet. Great shade. Easy parking. Good times.
Brett S — Google review
The river is Stunning, fast flowing, but also places where you can float around more and swim, not so much of a current. There were people going down the river on their tubes, it wasn’t too busy. Lots of parking. About a five minute walk to river from parking lot. Best to bring water socks or good sandals to wear in river cause rocks are slippery, and not as easy to walk on. Although there are some areas where it’s more pebbles. I loved it here I will cone back.
Christa — Google review
Short but well maintained walking paths. In the Fall you can see salmon feeding in the river and returning to spawn in the creek. A nice park to spend an hour or so taking in nature's beauty
Matt J — Google review
A great spot to start your tubing adventure. We hired tube from Blue Toque Sports and squeezed the 2 tube into a medium sized SUV. From getting in at Puntledge Park we floated easily down the river. The water level was a little low. I would recommend wearing a pair of water proof shoes or sandals as you may need to push on rocks or trees. Try and read the water as we scrapped our bottoms on a few rocks. We got out at Lewis Park, and walked our tube under the bridge and back to Blue Toque. Trip took about 1 hour. Great fun
Greg F — Google review
Nice small, short, trail along the river. Easily accessible to all ages and abilities. Might see kayakers float by, or large fish swimming up river. Popular spot to swim, tube the river, play with dogs, and hangout in the summer. There's a small playground with swings, slides, and standard park equipment. The only thing it lacks is a standout scenic point. Closest marks are the large boulder across the river that many people jump off in the summer (locally known as big chief), or the bend across from the park where the small bridge crosses over. This is where dozens, and sometimes hundreds, of fish can be found if you choose to snorkel here.
Kraig G — Google review
Nice park that has a river where you can fish for salmon depending on the time of the year. The paths where nice with some wooden bridges and a nice walk through the forest. The River was nice to see and listen too. There were people fishing along the river while I walked around. The place was nice and peaceful. There was a person in an electric scooter going around too so some parts where easy to get to and move around.

As a teenager I always went to the Original Boston Pizza on Jasper Avenue in Edmonton. Now as a Senior my wife and I relive that experience every 6 weeks @ the Courtenay location as we order the large Boston Royal. This gives some extra slices for lunch the next day. Always excellent and the waitresses sometimes get the correct answer to my quiz. What was the name of the city that had the first Boston Pizza? Edmonton
Ronald B — Google review
A few weeks ago, after visiting my leg dude, we stopped at Boston Pizza for lunch in Courtney on Vancouver Island. When I went to use the “accessible “ washroom it was locked. The waitress told me that it’s always locked and they keep brooms and things inside. I informed her I would have to get in the car and drive to the mall to use a washroom before my 45 minute drive home - her response was sorry. I contacted their head office, sent a message on messenger, researched the building code for accessible washrooms when this building was built, I was pissed. Had a long chat with the manager and was told I should have been allowed to use it, all staff know to unlock the door. I suggested a note on the door so customers would know to ask. Well yesterday we went back unannounced and wow. The washroom has been cleaned out and is repainted. He has a companion chair in case it’s needed. And a lovely sign in the door telling customers how to access this washroom. Thank you Nick for not only listening but responding!

Why can't I post Willow photos but willow can post hot tub photos? Wow what over priced cheap quality food. The chocolate explosion cake is pretty good but at that price I can buy half a cake! $5 for a $2 ginger beer? And previous reviewer "Willow" gave this place 5 stars and said the cottage was nice and provided a photo of the hot tub. This is BOSTON PIZZA Willow! Not your rental cottage 😂🤣👎

We had lunch at Boston Pizza in Courtenay. The restaurant was not busy, it took our server way too long to bring us our beverages, 3 coffees and a lemonade. Not once were we asked if we wanted refill of our drinks. Our food arrived, sad to say our food was so so. The quesadilla didn't even look like it was cooked, pressed in a hot pan, the spicy Mac & cheese was more sauce than anything and the Caesar salad had way too much dressing. Don't think we will be back.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of tasty pub fare and an extensive liquor menu while soaking up the sun on the patio.
Visiting for a day, decided to find something to eat. Ordered the bacon cheddar burger, my partner ordered the Cajun chicken burger. The burgers were big, messy, full of flavor, and tasty. Fries were well seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Service was really good and very clean restaurant. We will come again when we come back up.

Third time going with bad outcome. First time was their champ potatoes were so saturated with seasoning couldn't eat it. Waitress said new cook. 2nd time we waited 45 minutes for a waitress, food was okish, but not everything came out together so some were finished before others. ,3 rd time was the worst!! Steak was barely warm and raw... ( Asked for med rare) Chicken could not bite thru it. Childs burger was rare. We loved this place before, not sure what has happened but won't be returning.

I really enjoyed our visit. Clean, friendly... Not the cheapest place, but far from expensive. I adored the tuna tacos, but found the prime rib burger a little overwhelming - not in a bad way, just a lot going on. I liked it... And I especially liked hearing about their charitable activities. The staff are awesome, and the tall bald bartender is seriously one of the friendliest and most generous people you’ll ever meet behind the bar. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for good energy and great service.

Kelly & Carlos O'Bryan's in Courtenay is an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The menu offers a dish for just about anyone, in any mood. My large family tried just about the biggest range you could get and EVERYTHING was delicious! As a picky eater myself, I decided to have the chicken lips and Pachos and LET ME TELL YOU! I didn’t think chicken fingers and fries could get any better, but BOY DID THEY EVER! Plus, if you haven’t yet had a chance to witness first hand the most insane drink menu you’ve ever seen, now is the time to do so. Their menu is CRAZY, (but I will never get anything other than the bartenders love juice, trust me you won’t either) Overall, Kelly O'Bryan's offers a perfect blend of delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming environment. Whether you're a local or just passing through Courtenay, this spot is a must-visit!

The Yellow Deli is a charming eatery that offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, and breakfast options. In addition to their food menu, they also have a juice bar where you can enjoy smoothies and other refreshing drinks. The cozy atmosphere with a crackling fire adds to the dining experience, making it an ideal spot for a delicious meal.
Fantastic woodwork interior and atmosphere, super friendly staff who make locally great food from locally sourced ingredients. 10/10 would recommend

Well it's worth coming here just for the unbelievably unique and creative interior. The service was very friendly and quick. We found the food to be delicious and the bread was very fresh. We had a Reuben sandwich and a lamb sandwich and they were very fresh tasting and delicious but I would have given them a five-star (overall and for the food) if there was more flavor. They were both a bit bland including the coleslaw
Paul E — Google review
Had the veggie burger with chips, very good! Not a processed veggie burger it’s made in-house, great flavor, and a big portion (I couldn’t finish it). Chips were crispy and tasty. Cool atmosphere with a cozy, cottagey feel. Definitely would comeback.

This restaurant probably has the best chili and corn bread I’ve ever had! Paired with their cold root beer it was amazing. My sister took me here while I was visiting her in Comox, and I will definitely come back if I was ever in the island again.
Riza C — Google review
The food was absolutely amazing! It was my first time here and I had the lamb sandwich, which I’ll definitely be ordering again. The only downside was the service—our server came across as quite cold and never checked in to see how we were enjoying our meal or if we needed anything else. The food alone makes me want to come back, but I hope the service improves to match the quality of the kitchen.

We head about this place from our Friends who live in the area. This place was a must to visit for us. The sandwiches are Unbelievably good, so as the Soup of the day. All 3 us had a different dish and we were all blown away from the quality. A Lady was out server, but others touched the table as well to serve us. They were very knowledgeable and kind. The interior of the restaurant is made of hand made furniture and design. We were offered to sit on the patio but we opted for the table inside to be surrounded by the beautiful furniture and design. We wanted to buy some bread to go, but they only sell bread on Tuesdays and Fridays. We returned on Friday for their Spelt flour Sourdough. The prices are moderate for what you get. They don't serve alcohol, but they serve homemade juices and smoothies. They have an Excellent Tea selection as well. The Iced Chai Tea was very refreshing with a hint of cinnamon. I would recommend to visit this play when visiting the area.

Pub
Griffin Pub, established in the early 80s, is a popular spot in Comox Valley offering a traditional pub experience. Situated near the air base, it exudes a relaxed atmosphere and provides ample indoor and outdoor seating. The pub serves an array of great beers on tap and classic pub fare. Its authentic interior features an aviation theme that pays homage to the local military training grounds. Additionally, Griffin Pub is known for its warm hospitality and serves as an important community hub.
Sat outside, as we had the dog with us. We all had the burgers, which was the special and boy, were they good! Great staff, great food and atmosphere!

A very cool old pub. Classic pub food. I heard the schnitzel is amazing! I had a salmon burger which was delicious! I walked in on a trivia night - quite fun I have to say!

In 1984 we watched the Griffin Pub being built. Over the years we have always dropped in and enjoyed their fish and chips. It is best described as a warm cozy place that sort of feels like your home. Friendly people and great food. I had the potato leak soup and fish and chips. It can get very busy for lunch so remember it opens at 11:00 AM. Thanks for all the years of great service.

It had been years since I had been to The Griffin, but tonight hubby and I gave it a go! We had a fabulous dinner! The baked brie was my favorite part, but everything was great! To top it off, Chelsea, our server was absolutely wonderful. Super friendly and efficient! Overall a great evening!

Our first visit. It was busy when we arrived for dinner, but we found a seat and we were given a friendly greeting. I had the schnitzel with veg and mashed potatoes. Delicious. SL had a burger which she said had a lovely char and flavour and the onion rings wete perfect. Although we were full we had to try the peanut butter pie It was good, but a bit dense. We look forward to many more visits.

My husband and I shared the bangers and mash and we both agreed that the bangers had a really weird/off flavour. They were not very nice but luckily the mash, peas and gravy were good. Wouldn’t recommend that particular meal but otherwise the pub is good and staff were pleasant.

Feedback is based on multiple trips over the course of four years. Have been there multiple times as it is unfortunately the closest to my house. 1) Service/cleanliness. I have had waitresses serving my food while eating nachos themselves x 1. Same waitress ringing me in at the bar while eating pie x 1. Another waitress cleaned off my table by brushing the crumbs on the floor with her bare hand. If cleanliness is important to you, probably not the place to go. Waitresses also tend to have an attitude or “quirk” which I’m sure some old guys enjoy, but really it’s just unprofessional and they aren’t charming enough to get away with it and really it just comes off rude. 2) Food. Food is decent now. They have made major upgrades in this category, but it still can’t compete with any other bar in town. 3) Venue. Nice patio. Usually ruined by smokers. No kids allowed. Although probably a blessing in disguise for the kids. 4) Take home. In summary, skip this place unless you have no other options. I really would love if this place was at least clean as it’s so close to my house. When I used to live near Roy’s (excellent pub in Royston), I was there all the time. Try Timber Room (relatively close with professional servers and good food) or Land and Sea (excellent nachos).

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and quite a selection on the menu. The food is very tasty and nicely presented. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The service was right on. I had the meatloaf and my wife had a hamburger both were very delicious. We will be back to try some other things on the menu.

Day 2

For day 2, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Miracle Beach Provincial Park. Nestled in the picturesque Comox Valley, Miracle Beach Provincial Park is a family-friendly haven that promises unforgettable memories. Just a short drive from Courtenay and Campbell River, this stunning park features sandy beaches with inviting tide pools perfect for exploration. The campground offers well-equipped sites complete with hot showers and picnic areas, making it an ideal spot for summer getaways.
Just love the nature house and staff! So much information for the young ones! The trails have been kept up so nice! Great place for a family adventure! Camping spots are huge! And wild life a plenty!

Such a great spot for camping! Sites are spacious with lots of privacy between them with trees and foliage! Beach is a short walk away. There are pit as well as flush toilets. Hot Showers are complimentary. Firewood is $12 a bag or 3 for $30. Bags of ice are $5 and the check-in booth has ice cream. The park is well laid out.
Bill J — Google review
Warm water! We spent a couple weeks on the island checking out beaches all over the place and never once got in because it was always too cold. On our last day, we didn't even bring our swim gear and to our disdain, the water was so warm and delightful. Oh well, silly us. Wonderful spot. Was quite busy with what looked like school field trips, but theres plenty of room to spread out.
Brett S — Google review
What a beautiful spot to camp or visit. We loved our time there! Trails, beach, playground, dish pits, showers..all make for a pretty great camping spot! Note that there's an unmapped playground and pump track near site 135. The shower building near the main playground really stinks and made the whole playground smell. They may need to look into that!
Karen S — Google review
Nice provincial park with a campground and beach. Part of the beach is a bit rocky and other parts sandy. It’s a nice place to go in the summer time and is also close to Saratoga Beach. It is a nice walk along the water with beautiful scenery. There is also nice trails and paths in the area to walk around which were nice and not that hard to get around.
Gary O — Google review
The campground is huge but clean, well run and organized. There are many clean outhouses dotted around and main bathrooms and shower facilities. The sites have a lot of forest in between most of them. The check in gate and building has some basic supplies for sale if you forgot something. Some might find the walk to the beach from their campsite too far. There is a day use parking lot closer to the beach. The beach is worth visiting at high tide. Great view, small playground, benches and picnic tables. At low tide, the water goes out quite far and is nice and sandy for all ages to walk and play. The sites have fire rings and you can buy firewood. Watch for fire bans as that might put a damper on your campfire plan. There is a dirt trail network around the campground that connects down to the river and ocean. Overall a really nice campground.
G G — Google review
Beautiful natural setting to enjoy the ocean, forest and estuary! New toilet and shower facilities, lots of new picnic tables, and a large undercover group area. Recycling and garbage bins throughout the park. A series of short trails close to the water wind through the forest and take you out to the ocean, estuary or the two parking lots. There's a campground, nature house, and longer trails in other areas of the park. Super family friendly, and great spot to walk your dogs (if on a leash, and not directly on the beach!) The water was calm when we visited so boating is an option too. The sun sets behind the trees fairly early in the evening, so don't expect a warm, sunny end to the day if you come later! I'm used to west-facing beaches with beautiful sunsets and warm evening light. Being east-facing, this is not the beach for that. Just bring an extra sweater! 😉
Pearl E — Google review
We loved our time here! Beautiful campground with private, good sized campsites. Very short walk to the beach from any campsite. Lots of flush toilet bathrooms throughout and a shower with private stalls in the centre. There is a playground for kids, and lots of quiet roads for kids to ride their bikes. The front gate sells firewood, ice and other camping necessities such as sunscreen. It's very busy on weekends and can be loud, but that's to be expected of any campground. We went mid-week and it was lovely because it wasn't too busy.

Spent a couple mornings here walking the trails and taking in the sights at sunrise. Rarely saw another person. Trails are wonderfully maintained. Signage is impeccable. Nice to have benches at view points so you can sit and take it all in. Great spot!

Great trails that lead to a beautiful rocky beach. Plenty of parking when we were there. The beach area has larger rocks and a little difficult to walk at times. We were able to see seals and several kinds of birds - binoculars highly recommended. Very peaceful and clean beach. Park is dog friendly but they may have a hard time in the rock beach.

Excellent, safe hike. Lots of nice trails. Perfect way to spend an afternoon. The forest loop is a nice 8 Km hike with some elevation. Great place for dog walking and mountain biking. Close to Comox with ample parking

Interesting and diverse trails with an abundance of parking. Good signposting as well. Update 1 year later; I visited again today, nice trails but within a 100 metre distance from the Bates car park, I found three bags of dog poop on or near the trail. FFS, if you're bagging it then take it to the local poo receptacle.

It's always a good time walking the trails at Seal Bay. Beautiful wide trails. Closer to the water, the steep terrain offers a nice challenge.

We only went on the water side. Very green, tons of ferns, beautiful ravine on path down to the water. Beach had lots of creatures, think I saw my first bristol worm. The seals were a ways off but listening to their antics with each other and the seagulls was entertaining. Will come another time to check out the march walk.

Casino
The Chances Playtime casino offers an excellent dining experience at the New Match Eatery, eliminating the need to travel far for a quality establishment. With its local appeal and added shuffle board table, it poses a serious threat to other bars in town. However, one observation is that the glass washer should be relocated to prevent damage to the new woodwork from steam and water.
Food here is so good. The steak sandwich is one of the best Ive had. Burger and garlic parm fries is tasty too. Drinks are a bit pricey and measured pour but happy hour helps.
Elizabeth M — Google review
Horrible place. Terrible policies and bad payouts. Some of the staff are nice but the management just lost two good customers! Maybe they need to learn something from Ontario casinos, like when a person is playing two machines they shouldn’t have to give one up just because another player wants it. Duh. As long as the machine is actively being played it shouldn’t matter whose money is going into it! I can be there all day dropping two grand into it @nd someone comes along with their $20.00 and I have to give it up? Maybe if there were NO OTHER MACHINES IN THE ESTABLISHMENT TO PLAY! Stupid policy and I won’t be spending my money there ever again. I’ll go elsewhere or I won’t go at all. I had to put one star, but they really don’t deserve even one. Good riddance.

The New Match Eatery is awesome. No more having to drive over the bridge for a nice place. It's gonna be my new local. A shuffle board table to boot. Good priceing for happy hour specials. The other bars in town should be worried. 1 observation, the glass washer should be moved from under the nice bar. The steam and water will destroy the new woodwork in no time. Just speaking from experience cause we spend a lot of time in bars. The Retired Malahat boys.

Staff are nice. Casino games are limited. Nothing worth playing to me. It be a 2 star review but the server at the restaurant was very nice. The restaurant also would be a 2 star but server saved it. Beef deep was pretty good. I don't know who puts balsamic dressing on a Ceasar but I guess they do there. Yuck. Thank you server. I did notice someone else's food smelt really good I thought it was buffalo sauce but maybe it was the fish and chips. So I'm assuming some of the food is good here it's just the tap water and Ceasar salad suck.

Match Eatery & Public House is a family-friendly and lively spot at Chances Playtime Courtenay, offering a casual atmosphere for various occasions. The menu features British pub comfort food with a modern twist, along with refreshing drinks and live entertainment. It's an ideal place to catch a game while enjoying delicious food. Guests can also engage in other activities like playing pool. Although some patrons miss certain items from the previous menu, others appreciate the fantastic dishes such as the spicy Hawaiian pizza.
Went to MEPH on a Wednesday evening, while in town visiting relatives. We weren't disappointed. It was busy when we arrived due to a draw of some sort. We lucked out and got the last table in the newer/"outdoor" area, which frankly we preferred. Service was a little slow to arrive (because of the crowds) but we weren't too concerned. The menu met the expectations of a pub re.food/beverages. We went for the Nonna's Spaghettini & Meatballs ($5 off on Wednesdays), Beef Deep, and Ruffino wine ( 1/2 price on Wednesdays). The food was tasty and reasonably apportioned, we barely finished it (no room for dessert, unfortunately). Prices were fair given the food quality and quantity. MEPH is marketed as a sports bar, so do anticipate some noise and activity. There is plentiful free parking out front.
David F — Google review
I’ve eaten here several times since moving to the area and the food is always great. Unfortunately the service is a hit and miss, depending on the day. This then contributes to a less than stellar atmosphere. But, I like the food, it’s never disappointed me or my partner. I will say, I wish they had a wider range of salads and had an option to do half orders. Sometimes I want a balance of unhealthy food with healthier foods lol, and if they could add this to their delivery menu because I don’t always eat in the restaurant. I should add, one time my partner and I came for happy hour, sometime in September and the service was exceptionally bad. The restaurant was almost empty, the service was slow and the server abandoned us. She asked us if we wanted drinks and we said no and the service fell off from there. It was one of the first questions after taking our order. It left a poor taste in our mouth. Based on the reviews it would seem this restaurant could work to improve this area. Please do better. I like the food and sometimes I’m too busy to cook, so I am happy to be a regular, but I don’t want to feel unwelcome or like a burden. I’m not sure what is going on to make y’all act this way but I sure hope you figure it out. Oh, and while I am sharing constructive feedback, I wish you had a vegetarian pasta dish. It’s a shame to pay full price when you remove the meat. It does not cost the same to make.

Our first time checking out Match Eatery and Public House left is with mixed feelings. The venue is what I expected for a pub attached to a casino. It was comfortable with lots of televisions for watching sports, nice high ceilings and well appointed bar. Also. Has a patio area which I think would be great when the warmer weather arrives. Because it is attached to a casino, it is quite loud but this is to be expected and even with the volume level, it was comfortable to sit, chat and enjoy our meal. The food was quite good but unfortunately the service was lacking. There appeared to be lots of staff and it wasn’t a very busy time of day. The girl serving us was flustered and forgetful. Other staff tried hard NOT to notice us and didn’t offer any assistance unless we approached them. All in all it was a decent meal with underwhelming service.

Went to match for the first time tonight. We got seated right away and it was happy hour so we got an appy and some drinks. We also had 2 kids with us and they got coloring pages and crayons. And the server was good about getting our drinks to us fast. However after that it went a little downhill. I could tell after the drinks were delivered the server wasn't having a good night, her eyes were very puffy and I pointed it out to my husband. We ordered our appy and the 2 kids meals and asked to wait a little while we fully decided on our mains. The food we ordered came out, then we never saw our server again.. We had to keep flagging people down so we could order our food. Once the other sever realized what haf happened he gave us plenty of attention and we had fast service after even though it was probably stressful for them to be figuring out what happened. All in all we would go back cause the food was delicious and I want to try more of it! I had fish and chips and Cesar salad. Husband had the chicken pizza. The server appogized for what happened, and it wasn't a huge issue (thiugh kids were getting restless as it did take twice as long as we usually take) but life happens! Highly recommend, even if it wasn't great service tonight, but thank you to everyone who stepped up and assisted.

The food was OUTSTANDING!!! and our server Scott was beyond amazing. He not only tended to our every need. He did it with such professionalism, happiness and joy. He was such a pleasure. AND…. He I have made an executive decision that they’re should be an adult version of the amazing sticky toffee pudding that includes baileys to be poured over the over ice cream!!!!! Thank you for making our night so special.

I just finished golfing with my son and we stopped in a for a quick root beer. I wasn’t aware it was kid friendly. The day staff were amazing and helpful. Especially the bartender Jaqueline we were sitting at the wood I couldn’t have asked for a better person serving us. Great job. Would go back again for sure.

Really kind people and solid service. Food was amazing and quite possibly the coldest draft beer I’ve ever had. If I lived here, it would be the go to spot without a doubt. (Sports Bar section)

If you want a pub to watch football with your bros, this is the place. If you want to have a conversation, not so much. It's an American-style bar/restaurant with a casino. The food was good (not great), but the TV was really loud and the NFL football game was the point. Not a 'date' pub.

Such a pretty place! The outside area is so cute. Service was lovely, food was delicious and the dessert was PHENOMENAL. I had the Dark Chocolate and Salted Caramel Delice….i don’t think I got the name quite right, but it is now in my top 3 of all time favourite desserts. I would like to eat it all day everyday. We found Locals to be a very disappointing experience. Our scallop and pork belly starter was tasty and based on that, we looked forward to our meal. Unfortunately we were very wrong. The bread and compound butter were nice, but our entrees were very disappointing. My wife ordered the Bouillabaisse, which came out bland with some fish overcooked, with the crab in particular more closely resembling rubber than fresh seafood. I ordered the venison, which was well seasoned but ultimately uninspired. The sauces and vegetables were competently if plainly executed, but the meal as a whole had a very plain meat and potatoes vibe, rather than fine dining. We also struggled to get attention from our server, who only stopped by twice in our entire meal. Disappointed with our mains, we ordered a few desserts to sample, finding them sweet and enjoyable but similarly pedestrian. Overall Locals was our most disappointing meal during a week on the island. I’d recommend anyone with a foodie bent steer clear of this place. Your money is far better spent elsewhere. At the price point Locals is charging, there is far better food to be had in the Courtenay area (see Atlas Cafe).

Our dinner here was nice, in a pretty Tudor-esque setting. But the overall experience was good but not great - nowhere near the 'fine dining' experience they put forth. Service was just okay, and the food presentation and flavours were more homemade than chef.

They proudly claim everything is locally sourced, and it really shows in the freshness and quality. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!

I don't know if there is a new chef, but Locals used to be one of my favourites. I don't come often as it is pricey, but it has always been worth it for a special occasion. Tonight was very underwhelming. Great service, the servers are top notch. The cocktails... lacking. The food, good, but nothing special. I expect more for fine dining. I've read a few comments in response to less than favourable reviews and, yikes, it sounds like things have definitely changed. I hope they up their game again -- it's been a couple of years since we've been.

After the third dining experience, I can confidently say this is the best restaurant I have ever been to in the comox Valley/ Courtney area. All three times, staff food and atmosphere were 5/5. My favorites are the seafood linguine scallops with crispy pork belly! Cesar salad is amazing, the lavender martini. Wow!!

Great ambience, good quality food and good size portions. Fire place, Christmas decor, dimmed lights and great service all added to make an incredible dining experience. This is a great find of a restaurant, and a great way to support the local economy.

Great spot for good beers and food in the valley! The jerk chicken nachos were the star of the show! Prices were reasonable and great portion sizes. The beer was very tasty - I’ll be back!

I enjoy going to this brew house. The atmosphere is very casual. There is no table service. My husband doesn’t like that but I don’t mind. It means you don’t wait around for someone to notice you need help. Recently, they expanded their kitchen and they have a much larger food menu. I enjoy the beer. There is a large parking lot so you don’t have to worry about finding parking. The indoor seating is limited but they have a large covered patio and a large open patio. They have a games room. All around, a fun time!

Delicious brisket nachos!, crisp cold refreshing beers! Such a cool spot to just chill and enjoy! Hubs and I loved our little afternoon date here and will definitely be back. 😘🤌🏻

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The spacious seating area was perfect for relaxing with drinks and savoring the great food options. The atmosphere was family-friendly and had a lively, youthful vibe. While the beer selection was impressive, we would have loved to see more sour beer options. Overall, definitely worth checking out!

Hot Damn, food was great, beer was great, and plenty of room for my and my family, minimal waits. What more can you ask for? Give me the recipe for the jerk wings and I’ll give you a 6th star 😉

We were here for the Natalie McMaster and Donnell Leahy show. It was great. The Sid is a great venue. We like to sit in the balcony as it is still close to the stage and gives an elevated view which we like. The staff at the door did a great job scanning tickets and keeping the line moving quickly. The ushers were also friendly and helpful. It is great to have this venue in our community.

Great place for all walks of life! They update their policies and building at least once a year to try and be with the times. The Sid has an accessibility platform that can hold 4-9 people any given night and have a new hearing impaired system.

The staff at the Sid Williams theatre are amazing. And what a terrific venue! Thank you for helping the Comox Valley Child Development Centre with a successful Virtual Telethon for our 45th Annual Children's Telethon. We'll done!!

You'll have to visit the Sid! There's always something to see, and we've been privileged to see Stuart McLean (Vinyl Cafe) here twice, as well as some rather famous bands like Jesse Cook (also twice) plus a variety of Comedy Shows. They also host all the yearly events of the local Dance Studios in the Valley, and our favourite is Pantuso Dance's Groove event in May - you'll probably see some familiar faces on stage if you're from the Valley

Have been going here for years, Whenever we go to the island. Went again recently after having not been in 4+ years. The Donair is still the best I have had. You can not get this authenticity except to maybe go to Nova Scotia. 😆 We felt completely at home, as our food was being made we were engaged with great conversations. More people arrived and it was as if a little family. everyone chatting and laughing it was a great atmosphere. Thank you for a great lunch and look forward to going again, with our next stop on the island.

My partner and I stopped by earlier not realizing that it was closed. However the owner saw us and cheerfully waved us in. The food was absolutely delicious and the owner was so friendly and kind. Overall just a lovely experience and I would highly reccomend you to stop by and try it out. I had a gyro and my partner had a donair, both where absolutely awesome (I definitely reccomend getting the added feta, YUM!)

Absolutely hands down the best gyro I've ever had. Stop reading reviews and just come here.. The food is SOOO fresh, they treat you like old family friends and the building has so much character. I got the combo and that kept me full for hours. I will definitely be bringing everyone who visits me to this insanely wonderful restaurant.

A nice friendly atmosphere and very good food at a fair price. The owner is very lovely and welcoming; I took my grandma and brother here and she showed her how to eat the gyro and was very nice. I like how authentic the Greek feel is too. The beef and lamb was pretty dope.

The best Greek food in the comox valley, hands down. The food is spectacular - the tzatziki and hummus are amazing, and you get generous portions with lots of fresh veggies. Atmosphere is cozy with a wood stove for ambience and colourful, original decor. The owner and staff are personable and attentive, and the business is very community minded. They even have bulk take home options so you can construct a meal at home or when camping, and seniors meals for lighter appetites.

I had to try Black Market Food Truck after seeing all the high praise on Google, and it did not disappoint! The food was excellent, and the crispy rib stood out as absolutely outstanding. The flavors were spot on, and everything was cooked to perfection. Definitely worth the hype, and I’ll be coming back for more!

Here we are again. This time my wife went with her burger which she once more devoured with delight and I tried the Ramen. I am not yet a hot spice person and was delighted that the cook used his expertise with veggies, herbs and spices to give the dish a heightened taste without the added fire which seems to be prevalent nowadays. Ate half and had the other half later that day. A lot of food in that container. Once more, really impressed with the food taste/presentation. Still need to try the ribs before the menu changes. Definitely a 5 all the way.
Dennis P — Google review
1st visit. Wife said “Best Burger” ever. Will now use Black Market Burger as her measuring stick for any to follow. I had the Shrimp & Smoked Salmon Linguine which I rate very highly. I now have been scolding myself for taking so long to find this hidden gem of a food truck. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a great meal.

Oh my god, I’ve never wanted to make love to my food like I did the chicken and brie sandwich I had here today. The marriage of flavours between the balsamic onion jam, the garlic mayo, the crispy onion and the herbs of the chicken.. made me never want the burger to end. It was a whole delicious mess of absolute perfection, and I’m sharing the pic of it half eaten because why not. It was the best chicken burger I’ve ever had.
Lauren J — Google review
Worth the 5 stars. The chef clearly is putting care and love into this food. The polenta fries are amazing! Best use of polenta I’ve ever had - nice and crispy and soft with a delicious mayo/truffle like sauce. The KFC chicken sandwich was delicious. I need to try the rest of the menu. Please help support these good folks.

Wendy's is a popular fast-food burger chain that offers a variety of delicious sides, including chili and baked potatoes. Visitors often rave about the helpful staff and the ample free parking available, even for larger vehicles like motor homes. Many patrons appreciate the quick service and accuracy of their orders. A standout item on the menu is the Baconator, paired perfectly with crispy fries and a refreshing black cherry Frosty—an absolute treat!
Great store with very helpful staff. Lots of free parking even for our motor home. Food came fast and the order was correct. We had the backennator with fries. And a black cherry frosty. All food was delicious and really enjoyed the frosty. Prices are what to be expected these days for fast food. Its not cheap anymore

I was ordering on the drive true, and the girls that was on was very rude, could speak or understand me and she have a very bad attitude towards me because I didn't understand her, so I just letf with out ordering my food. I don't understand your restaurant is supposed to be canadian own and operated but no one that work there speak English or understand when we are talking to them .
Zelides G — Google review
If I could give a zero-star review, I would. The line of seemingly frustrated customers should have been the the que to walk right back out the door. First, the employees were laughing and hanging out behind the counter just out of view. It took far longer than it should have to simply place the order. While ordering the woman was distracted by another coworker. When our food FINALLY came out, the order was wrong. The women then tried to tell us we ordered a Completely different meal we absolutely did not. She tried to say our 17 year old ordered it. We were Right there. They did not and it wasn't something they even eat. To top it off, the food was Nasty. 3 meals over 50$ spent and most of it went to the garbage. Save your time and money Do Not eat here.
Jolene W — Google review
TERRIBLE!! No one wants to go there and you can tell no one wants to work there either. Went through the drive-thru. The person speaking was short and rude, no smile, didn't even call back my order. No idea if she even heard what I ordered. English was definitely not her first language. Just shoved the machine out and told me what i owed. In a minute she thrust the bags of food out the window toward me. No idea what I paid for or if it was even my order. It was COLD. It was WRONG. No receipt either to even get my money back. What a gross and disgusting experience. DONT GO THERE
Kipp L — Google review
Place is maintained well by the staff, Preet was friendly and very helpful, I tried a Davie’s single which was fine, but it could have been better. I will be exploring other offerings from their menu.

Ive been to a lot of McDonald's, and ive had a lot of Big Macs. Im not even joking when I say this, i've never had better looking McDonald's burger in my life, it actually looked like one out of a commercial. Also the ingredient ratio was perfect. Good stuff guys

Overall McDonald’s food quality has deteriorated, it used to be my Breakfast go to place but I am glad that I am exploring other better and healthier options around.
Ronit M — Google review
Breakfast drive through. Ordered a meal #10 (sausage) the man at the window said it was a bacon meal and I was wrong. Wasn’t kind about it. I accepted the meal and apologized for the mix up. I looped around and I was correct the screen displayed #10 sausage. I had to leave to work but did not get what I wanted.
Gabrielle S — Google review
The guy was super rude, kept ignoring us while we were waiting to place the order first, then again while waiting for him unlock the bathroom door. Waited ages for him to show some kind of reaction or atleast look my way to BEG to unlock their precious bathroom. What's wrong with these people? This is not the service Mc Donald's is famous for.
Ruvini P — Google review
Absolute garbage. If these people can't even toast an English muffin without burning it should you trust them to handle raw meat?
Kevin K — Google review
I had a terrible experience at this McDonald's. My Junior Chicken meal was served cold, and they forgot my dip. I had to go back just to get it, and when I asked, the two girls at the counter laughed instead of helping politely. It felt very rude and unprofessional. Worst service I've had at any McDonald's.

Big thankyou to Christina and the team at the Courtenay mcdonalds. I'd come through in the morning and had been given an order with some missing ingredients, I called back later that morning and spoke with Christina and she was very understanding and worked hard to make things right. George's Food Bar Ltd is a hidden gem in Courtenay that offers some of the freshest and most delicious burgers in town. The place is known for its quick yet mouthwatering burgers, making it a perfect stop for a satisfying meal on the go. With three generations of family involvement, this hole-in-the-wall eatery has been serving up top-tier burgers and other delectable dishes for decades. The menu also features Chinese options, although it seems to have been reduced recently.
At last, they were open today when I drove by! 🙏 I have been hearing raves about this place for years and finally had the opportunity to try it out. I was not disappointed, the Combo Deluxe Burger that I ordered was freshly made with delicious ingredients and was still very hot when I sat down to eat. The fries were not bad either. I will definitely be coming back!

Update: I happened to be in town and shopping next door. I saw they were opened, so I tried the top tier Wagon Deluxe burger. It was very delicious dinner style burger. The Chinese menu looks like it got reduced maybe due to the nice Chinese couple in their retirement age. Enjoy the burgers while they are still around! Very good, quick service, food quite good, not cheap. The store front could use some updating for appearances but it doesn't deter folks from coming.
Steve H — Google review
So good! Simple and fast drive-in style burger place. The owners are the only two people working inside so consistency is excellent. It seems to be a hidden gem that locals love. My only complaint is I wish I discovered this place earlier! I usually order two bacon cheddar burgers and fries! Real bacon, American cheese and stadium style burger on a soft bun. I wish Courtenay had more of these little mom and pop food places!
Comox R — Google review
Best burgers around! Fast, excellent service. They have their own way of dealing with orders, so if you aren’t used to it, it could come off strange, but have faith. Food is served up hot off the grill with every order. This family run joint has been around for decades, and they know what they’re doing. We have never had a bad experience, and come back multiple times every time we’re in town!
M D — Google review
Definitely the worst burger I’ve ever tasted. Poor, soggy, and greasy. The fries and onion rings tasted of old, reused, cheap oil. Paid $25 for 2 burgers and fries and onion rings. Ended up throwing out 90% of it because it was so awful. No idea how there was such a long wait time for such awful food.

Visitors can enjoy the sound of rushing water as they explore multiple viewing spots and even descend to the lower rock shelf using a rope 'ladder.' The park is also home to impressive trees, diverse flora, and wildlife like bald eagles.
Beautiful place to spend the day, lot of trails such as the comox dam trail (5-6km), regular trail to see the falls (500m). There is a viewing platform to see the falls, additionally there is a rope that takes you down the fall or a stairway 50-60m from the viewing platform.

Beautiful park.ust visit if you're in the Comox area. So many trails to discover. And the water falls are wide and beautiful. You can have a bath here during summer time. I love the big trees. And almost covered hiking trails. Easy parking near the head of Trail

What a beautiful hike the hike was wonderful the shade in the trees was much appreciated the falls and the river were very beautiful there is a nice little swimming hole along the way and the Flora and fauna would keep somebody interested in plants for hours.

A lovely trail system through the forest, along the river and to Nymph Falls. The trails to the falls are flat and wide. An easy 5- 10 min walk. The view at the falls has a natural landscape - there are no manmade viewing platforms. You are able to go out onto the large rock area (safe and easy for adults who are relatively fit) to get the best view. We found benches, outhouses and some picnic tables along the trails.

Beautiful and easy walk to falls. Well groomed gravel trail for wheelchairs Awesome view of cascading falls. Only 0,5 in from parking lot to viewing area

Great area to chill by the water. If you keep going left from the main viewing area, there are little plunge pools along the side. It was too cold when we were out there but it would be a great area to take a dip in the water and chill with friends when it's warm.
Karen B — Google review
Didn't get to spend a lot of time here, however the falls are beautiful the doggos were friendly and benches to take in the scenic beauty were plentiful
Seb C — Google review
Nymph Falls Nature Park is a perfect mix of forest trails and river views. The walk is easy and family-friendly, with well-marked paths that take you along the Puntledge River to the falls. In summer, people wade and swim in the calmer pools, while in autumn you can watch salmon making their way upstream. The forest is lush and peaceful, with plenty of spots to stop for a picnic. It’s also dog-friendly, which adds to the relaxed vibe. Parking is straightforward, and the trails are accessible enough for most visitors. A great spot for a quick walk or a full afternoon outdoors.

Beautiful farmers market with lots of great vendors. There's food trucks and live music, and a kids table with drawing/treasure hunt. They have tables to sit at and enjoy food from the trucks or vendors. Great place to support local and enjoy feeling part of a community. Wholesome is the vibe

This market was quite large and had many vendors set-up. Not cheap but great quality. I'm bad with names but the hot sauce guy was great and super friendly. You could sample any sauce before purchase. Lots of pretty flower bouquets around the market as well. Hard to find a place to park because it's so busy but honestly not unexpected. Definitely worth checking out!

Our #1 stop for food shopping!! I love the fact that we can chat to the local farmers about how they raise their livestock or grow their produce. Even though many are not certified as organic, most of them practise organic farming, and these are the friendly folks whom we buy from. 50 Weeks a year I visit the Farmers Market on a Saturday morning - wouldn't miss it (they're closed for 2 Weeks over Xmas). We're very thankful that our Valley has such a diversified group of local farmers. Summer time they're at the Exhibition Grounds on Saturday Mornings (Downtown Courtenay on Wednesday Afternoons), but everyone moves indoors in Fall and Winter to the Native Sons' Hall

Natural History Museums
The Courtenay & District Museum, established in 1961, offers a unique learning experience for visitors. It features local exhibits on natural and cultural history, including rotating and permanent exhibitions. The museum showcases the city's history and marine fossils, as well as dinosaur fossils found in the area. Specializing in marine fossils and dinosaurs, it provides educational experiences for all ages through tours, programs, and science discovery.
Man! What an awesome hidden gem this museum is. Dedicated to local palaeontology and shows an impressive array of ancient artifacts including a local find (Mosasaur) of some significance. Take a look at the photos and make sure to get to Courtenay and check out the museum for yourself. Entry is done by donation, it’s well worth dropping $20 for you and the kids adventure.

Wow! All these 5-star reviews are correct, this place is a hidden gem and is a must visit location when coming to or living in Courtenay. Pat and Aiden are fantastic guides with lots of knowledge and excellent communication skills. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, the the Museum is well kept and clean. My wife and I will do what we can to help support this exceptional resource. Thank you for being here!
John G — Google review
Entered the museum with 4 people, they had no entry fees but the banner did ask for donations (and mentioned receipts available for donation) so paid $80 cash as a gesture. Asked for a receipt for the donation and the front desk was clueless what is a receipt and how to print it out. No record of the donation I made and despite the establishment encouraging to ask for a receipt. Museum and exhibits great, not a great management
Amit — Google review
The museum is clearly trying to show some local history, and it was nice to see the fossils on display but most of the information and displays felt mediocre. The text panels were exceptionally bland and unspecific and most were simply printed on paper and stuck haphazardly on the walls compared to fancier museums. We did appreciate the spots where specific islands were listed for fossil finds. Worth a visit if you need something to do for an hour, but otherwise just okay.
Micaela D — Google review
Such a wonderful museum all around! We booked the private fossil tour and enjoyed exploring the museum before our tour. Pat was a wonderful guide and showed us the amazing paleontology fids around the museum. At the river bed, Pat was patient and kind and so engaging. He really took time with our kids, especially our youngest who wants to be a paleontologist. Thank you so much, Pat. It is an experience we will never forget!

We went for the fossil tour today with our homeschool group. Pat was an awesome guide. His enthusiasm for fossils was contagious. The kids were absolutely captivated. Highly recommend. Thank you for the fun and educational hands on learning experience.

What an excellent tour by Pat! We loved the enthusiasm, the jokes, the dedication and the connection to the kiddos! Thank you so much! We had a blast! How fun to find fossils at the river! You have got to go!!!

Gladstone Brewing Co. is a popular spot in Comox Valley, known for its craft beer and burgers that emphasize quality and community. The brewery offers a variety of beers including Belgian ales, European lagers, and Pacific Northwest style India pale ales. Visitors can enjoy their drinks on the heated outdoor patio where dogs are welcome. The rustic atmosphere and friendly staff make it an inviting place to meet up with friends or enjoy a sunny summer evening.
It's an absolute gem of a place. Had the $15 lunch special and was blown away by the value and the taste. A pint, sandwich, and soup for $15 is good value, but the quality of the food and beer makes it a steal.

I’ve been here once before. Had such a great experience that I chose to visit again for Canada Day. Unfortunately it was an unadvertised “special” menu that seemed to only have a few burger options. One option that wasn’t available was the amazing nachos they normally have. Ended up going home to left overs, which made for an upsetting experience. Not saying i won’t be back, but I highly recommend calling before planning your evening out. So to sum it up, the nachos are amazing and wish they would have been available in this “special menu”.

Ordered an ipa and got a beer that test excessively lime like. Never had there beer before, not sure if that was the wrong beer or they are going for some new flavors, that aside, I was looking forward to my burger and it was dryer then expected, minimal sauce, fries were plentiful and crispy, atmosphere was cool. Nice place to be on a sunny day.

AMAZING patio for dog owners and dog lovers alike. I could barely focus on how nice my beer was because I kept making eyes at all the cute dogs. Shady, spacious, and welcoming. This is how a brewery patio should be done. Absolutely loved it! Courtenay is such a beautiful place and Gladstone really feels like a social epicentre for locals and tourists alike. Absolutely do not skip stopping here. It was recommended to me by a local I met in Qualicum and they were spot on with their glowing recommendation!

My first time tasting a Gladstone IPA. As an ardent Hop Head, I was absolutely gobsmacked at the level of craft in this beer. The hops were perfectly managed to create the IBU of a 'go-to' beer that anyone would be proud to serve to their best buddies. Way to go Gladstone.
Fred K — Google review
The French(?) male cashier at the outdoor order sit was extremely rude. I asked for beef tacos not a burrito and he ordered it as a brisket burrito. Then I'm stuck eating the wrong order and I don't want to deal with the cashier and then there was NO protein and just chunks of grissle fat. So disgusted with the burnt charred chunks so no real need to add stars at all.

Amazing service. The staff were so friendly. Excellent beer. Dog friendly. Decor on point. Nothing but good vibes. And the food! We went back just to try other menu items It was the most happening place in the Comox Valley.

I love Gladstone's. It's a true community watering hole with gloriously cozy ambiance. It's my favourite brewpub on either a rainy winter evening or a sunny patio afternoon. Open and enclosed heated patio that accepts well behaved dogs. I love that there are furry regulars I know by name. And that smoked brisket sandwich...👌🏻 Also open for coffee and sustenance on the weekend mornings now which is awesome. Hopefully that continues. Ps. Could you bring back the ESB? Pleeease!!

Amazing selection of clothes, both vintage and some what used. There are some nice pieces you can find. Also, a bunch of nice wall pictures for your home, each its own. And the cherry on top was a huge selection of books in excellent conditions, sorted by genres and alphabetical. Pleasantly shocked and will be coming back soon. Prices are beyond low.

Great pricing and organized selection but apparently the change rooms close 30min before closing?? I had two tops I wanted to try on at 4:38 but was told no despite there being another person still in one of the stalls... Not sure why they have this rule but the store wasn't busy and it was just two simple tops I wanted to try on. Decided to just leave then without purchasing.

Hiking area
Ruth Masters Greenway is a nature lover's paradise, offering scenic waterfront views and a variety of exotic plants and animals. The lush green space provides an opportunity to spot rare birds, deer, eagles, and even the occasional black bear passing through to the river. The main trail is wheelchair accessible in some areas but may require assistance due to hills. With relatively stroller-friendly paths and off-leash dog walking allowed, it's a great place for families to enjoy nature.
Beautiful trail that walks above the Puntledge River. Very easy, small walk for us. 2Kms for our route. You can take even shorter routes if wanted. There is a small built in to the slope, rock stairs, so not wheelchair friendly.

Nikkei Ramen-ya is a delightful dining spot that specializes in house-made ramen noodles and an array of authentic Japanese dishes. This family-friendly restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect place for everyone to enjoy a meal together. With its focus on quality ingredients and traditional flavors, Nikkei Ramen-ya invites guests to savor each bowl of delicious ramen while experiencing the warmth of Japanese hospitality.
Best ramen I've ever had in Canada, 100% comparable to Japan. Tried the miso ramen (with lots of fun accouterments) and the shoyu ramen. The miso had a deep rich broth with perfectly balanced complexity. The shoyu had a nice clear, strong, seafood flavored broth (much lighter than the miso. Both unique and delicious). The ramen noodles were perfectly al dente and the meat was fresh and tender in both 🤤 Can't wait to try all the soups!
Mei-Ling R — Google review
We utilized a 2 for 1 coupon and visited yesterday. I opted for the Tonkotsu Shoyu, while my husband chose the tantanmen. Although the food was delicious, the serving size was small relative to the price. I acknowledge that everything is made from scratch, requiring considerable effort, but the value proposition seems lacking, with 2 small bowls of ramen costing $45.99.
Marie-Pierre C — Google review
Overall atmosphere of the restaurant is decent and welcoming, but the usage and implementation of the self serve kiosks could be better. Food took nearly an hour to be made, and the portion size felt a bit on the smaller side. The ramen I tried was a seasonal one that used chicken stock instead of tonkotsu, but tasted overly bland and didn't have any distinct flavour. Appearance wise, it also felt a bit messy and lacking. Don't think I will try again.
Jeremiah C — Google review
I’ve eaten from plenty of ramen places and have never had such a bizarre and bad-tasting tea in my life. The image on the menu shows a pitcher with almost clear tea, described as “premium” tea. What we got was murky/cloudy with tea leaves of irregular size and stems that had green powder(?) practically disintegrating in the liquid. My boyfriend had an upset stomach after drinking some and I couldn’t force myself to take a second sip. The ramen wasn’t the worst I’ve had but the noodles were undercooked, some sticking together, and were quite short. The broth was also very salty. It’s all self-serve (ordering at a kiosk, pouring your own drinks, and taking your own food from the bar) and felt more like fast-food rather than a restaurant. (The long tables clearly meant for multiple groups to eat at the same place)
Yura S — Google review
Was visiting Courtenay from Victoria and decided to get Nikkei Ramen-ya. There’s a lot to like - but there was some I didn’t like. I am firstly happy to find more ramen shops offering things more authentically. The broth is unreal. You can taste it was their labour of love. Noodles are a good texture and stood out. The Ajitsuke was way too runny - it could have been this particular batch but it’s what was used in my ramen. The chasu was too lean, so combined with it being sliced so thin, it honestly just tasted like ham. Again, it could have been this particular batch. I imagine serving so much ramen, it’s hard to maintain the quality of that perfect egg and chashu in such a large scale. The homemade kimchi was really disappointing because it was way past the fermented stage that should be served. When it reaches to the point where it gets this sour and this mushy - it’s too much. Portion is a sensitive topic to restaurants in general, but only have a few small cut overly fermented and the majority of the bowl being the kimchi sauce (juice) wasn’t the best experience. Contrary to some opinions, the self ordering kiosk is wonderful - and it’s the way it’s done in Japan. I think I would prefer if once paid, like in Japan, the food would actually be served to us at our table. Having someone call out the number, and getting up to move our own bowls of hot ramen wasn’t what I was expecting. So a mix of good and bad on our first experience. For anyone in Courtenay, you can find authentic tasting ramen here - when you come down to Victoria, visit “Arashi” for another authentic approach to Ramen.
Monica K — Google review
A dreary day here and the cure is a visit to Nikkei Ramen! It was hoppin busy and was running like clockwork. We sat at the bar and watched 2 people working so smoothly and quickly. Everyone was friendly and helpful- our bowls were warm, savoury, rich and slurp worthy. The pulled pork in mine had so many layers of flavour that I can’t even name them. Ajitama egg added the perfect balance of richness along with a pat of butter. Watching the assembly line of the cooks was really interesting and added to our overall experience. We felt full and nourished as we left and it was a great reminder to us, just how lucky we are to have this place in our downtown.
Siobhan H — Google review
Such a great ramen spot! It was cool that you could order on a digital screen at the front, pick your spot, and then they’d call out your number when yours was ready. The broth was some of the best ramen broth we’ve tried. A little on the pricier side, but worth it in our opinion :) would recommend
Saija S — Google review
There is no question that the food is very good, but it is also very expensive for the size of the portions. I ordered noodles that were gluten-free with pork and broth. It was very tasty but not very big and cost me $28. The two people in line before me who ordered on the computer they have set up Left after they saw what the meal was going to cost them, $84 for two people for lunch. I think they would do better if they backed off on the prices a bit or gave bigger portions. If you've got the money though it's very good.

Ordered some avacado dips and recieved a bunch of terrible cayenne hot sauce dips. The only reason I went to this place was because their dips are better than Papa Johns. The cayenne dip sucks and isn't at all what I ordered.

Don't order the potato wedges - they were dark grey on the inside. Rotten potatoes. :-( Everything else is amazing though.

Very unimpressed honestly, ordered the 2 medium pizzas and cheesy bread "deal". The the Hawaiian was way to sweet, the pepperoni was also not great. Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't 45 dollars, definitely better pizza places out there these days for that price, panago has definitely fallen off these last few years, would not recommend.

Manvirro’s Indian Grill is by far our favorite restaurant in the Comox Valley. The atmosphere in the restaurant is comfortable and relaxing. It is a large space so you never feel crowded. A perfect place to unwind after a busy week! My husband and I have eaten there many times and have always found the food to be consistently fresh, aromatic, authentic and delicious with very generous servings! The naan is the best we have ever had and the Lamb Spinach, Mango Cauliflower, Coconut Veggie, and Fish Pakoras are some of our favourites. The menu has lots of options and we have never been disappointed trying new dishes. The owners and the waitresses are friendly and inviting, and they all care about creating a wonderful dining experience for their customers. Highly recommend!

It seems to me they rely on phone-in take-out orders but only start cooking when you arrive, like they don’t trust you. We were told 35 minutes; pretty accurate number, but from experience have them a full 50 minutes before arriving. Then, waited another 20 while 2 walk up orders got the food first. Had to wait outside, unsheltered from wind and rain hoping not to miss them calling my name. The whole operation seem confused as three different people came to the order window to check orders and it was not due to crazy busy, just lack of communication. With this type of disorganization at the front, we can only guess the state of the kitchen in the back. Never eating here again, telling everyone we can. This was not our first bad experience here but it was the one that stopped us going forever.

Surprisingly, great pizza. Do not let this little hole-in-the-wall spot deter you. It has been a few years since I have eaten here, but my personal favorite was the “Dracula’s Revenge” pizza. Depending on the season, you may be lucky to see lots of large fish in the water, or seals that seem pretty friendly. Up the river is a rope swing that is pretty awesome. Volleyball nets are set up for use too.

Great place to play ball! Had a blast playing a tournament there. The only unforgiving is the far walk to the bathrooms as there are only one set. But, the facilities themselves were well maintained while we were there.

What a great little park in Courtney, BC! We were traveling through, staying in Comox, over Canada Day 2023. We rode our bikes to the park…”Completely Creedence”, a Credence Clearwater Revival” band was playing and they were fantastic! After them, Fred Penner played, and found the child in all of us! Then they raffled off EIGHT bikes to kids 3-12! Wonderful memories were made!
Linda B — Google review
Great ball field with lots of parking and a river you can swim in. There is also a splash park nearby to keep the kids occupied.
Brittany S — Google review
Only 10 bucks to rent the field! Very well maintained.

Nice place to go for a walk by the river, or to just sit and read.

Needs more groundskeepers maybe? For the cleanliness aspect. I wouldnt bring my kids here other than to play sports. A few years ago I wouldnt mind having a picnic here, but since coming across needles, no thanks. Meh. Good for food trucks on a sunny day and sit in the park I guess. Big field for frisbee, lounging in the sun, etc. Just be careful. Bathrooms are...not very great.

If you plan to spend a few days in Comox or Courtenay, be sure to visit this wonderful distillery. We were there today and were very well served by Krista. she loves what she does. She did a great job, also presenting us with different types of drinks and explaining each one in detail. congratulations Krista, people like you make a difference in this world !!!!

Love all of the selections. Came in and Carmen Introduced us to both the gin and vodka selection. So hard to make a choice so we ended up going home with a few selections. So much worth the drive up island .

Accessible. Car-charging station. Clean. Friendly. Our group of 9 stopped in with no reservation, and we welcomed to taste any and all products at no charge. The Wayward Distillery mission in part, is to support honeybees. All products appear to feature honey as a flavourful or as a major constituent.

Fantastic ...a must. Krupnik is fantastic .. raspberry gin close second. Krista explained everything to us, showed us around and let us taste their fabulous flavourful products. Don't miss this!

Whelp, made a special trip from Abbotsford to visit Wayward and pick up a bottle of Krupnik (or four) and ended up leaving with bottles of the rum / raspberry gin and coffee vodka. Definitely will be harassing shops in my neighborhood to stock some of their Gin😄 Great folks, were very pleasant and pleased to see us. I applaud their initiative to help the bees - we need more businesses to support such a vital commodity. I also geeked out and they showed me their different stills that they use. On a separate note: they do have two lvl 2 chargers there for your EV (Tesla + J1772) so don’t be afraid to swing by.

Loved it.. had a full tasting and walked away with a few bottles of our favorites. Some unique stuff for sure. Worth a stop if you're in town

Don’t hesitate for a second to stop by and pick up some excellent gin. I stop by every time I’m in town to restock. My latest purchase is the raspberry gin with new recipe for a gin mule. Excellent quality product.

Courtenay Airpark (CAH3)

Airstrip
Courtenay Airpark (CAH3) is a registered aerodrome situated about 5 km south of Courtenay, British Columbia. It is owned and operated by the Comox Valley Airport Commission and serves general aviation purposes. The park offers facilities such as aviation fuel, a coffee shop, and a clubhouse for flight planning. Visitors can enjoy watching planes take off while taking in scenic views of the bay and observing wildlife along the path surrounding the airpark.
A very very good and a very very nice and a very very scenic park to walk or ride your bike around or just relax at and watch the birds but I recommend staying out of that park after dark. Entertaining to watch up close small planes take off and land in this small fenced-in area, with benches and walking path (Courtenay Riverway Heritage Park Trail) surrounding it. Located beside the estuary with informative signage, plus a nearby cafe and marina at the north end (and car park), children's playground at the south end (car parking via Mansfield Dr.). The trail is flat and paved, so easy for walking albeit limited shade. Tiny coffee place nearby. You can walk to downtown from there (15-30 min.). Peaceful and relaxing area to also watch birds and walk leashed dogs.

Great paved route to use for getting outside and seeing some airplanes :) Rollerblading, biking, walking, has a couple gravel spots but they’re optional, so pretty accessible as well 👍

Perfect fly-in destination! An excellent variety of restaurants, shopping and hotels within easy walking distance. The paved walking trail around the Airpark Estuary has many viewing spots for wildlife watching and kids love the Rotary Skypark. There’s something for everyone.
Richard C — Google review
Delightful arlirpark. Many facilities including aviation and lead free fuel with no ethanol. Visitor parking across from the fuel pumps (bring your own tie down lines) for a minimal overnight fee. Friendly coffee shop (D's) adjacent to the pumps. Club house behind the parking with facilities for flight planning. Hint for entry code beside the door. Hotels only a five minute walk away and many restaurants within walking distance. Great get away or refuelling/coffee stop.

Just remember to "Duck" Nice loop walk way around the strip and beyond. Wheelchair accessible. Take the camera. Get a cool shot of small planes landing or take off. Lots of waterfowl and seals swimming up the river. Bald Eagles.

Washington Park Shopping Centre in Port Hardy offers a diverse range of shops and dining options, making it the top main street shopping experience in the North Island. Visitors can find almost everything they need at this center, from excellent service at Real Canadian Superstore for online orders to delicious and reasonably priced food at Ricky's All Day Grill. The Telus store is also a great place to gather information about phones and carriers.
Only went to the Superstore for some groceries. There are many more stores at this location that offer a variety of items and services.
Michael O — Google review
Superstore has always been my go to for most staples, that being said Loblaws is getting more expensive than local stores these days. Produce? You're better off buying local. $12.00 for 2 pounds of imported grapes? No thank-you. This store is typically pretty busy, so good to google their busy times before going. Great local wine and cider prices, but things like PC coffee, you're better off to get at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Justin ( — Google review
It's the Great Canadian Superstore that isn't so great anymore. They have some items that aren't available anywhere else but otherwise the prices are very high.

This shopping center has almost everything one would need. I have continued to receive excellent service with the Real Canadian Superstore online order and pick up! Nice feature. The Ricky's All Day Grill in this center has been consistently good food at reasonable prices. The Telus store has also been a good place to get information on your next phone and carriers.

I purchased a ring by Justin Rivard for my partner. It looks more beautiful in person. The website was easy to navigate and customer service was exceptional. They were very courteous and responsive to my emails. I am very pleased with my overall experience and want to thank the team for really trying to get my order to me despite the storm.

When I walked into the store, I didn't get a "hello" or any sort of greeting. Two workers at the computer station. After 10 minutes of looking around, no one asked if I was looking for anything in particular... no customer service whatsoever 😒 I won't go back.

Highly recommend this gallery. The photography of the art work is very good giving a real insight if purchasing online. I was equally impressed by the customer service with prompt answer to my queries and really helpful. My ring arrived very quickly and is even more beautiful than I’d anticipated. A first class gallery.

I ordered two rings which I am very happy with. Fast delivery, well packaged. The rings were sized complimentary and the workmanship and attention to detail wonderful (the top loop is slightly larger to better fit the natural widening of the finger making the ring very comfortable to wear). Thank you!

The transaction went flawless. I commissioned a custom silver bracelet requesting certain design elements. Bill Helin made it absolutely beautiful, it was like he read my mind. The communication with Sarah at Spirit of the West Coast Art Gallery went very well. Sarah always kept me well informed, and was quick to answer any questions I had in the process of designing the bracelet, I was looking to achieve. I am so excited to have received it so quickly. It is stunning!

Recently purchased a Raven pendant by Carmen Goertzen. It is a beautiful piece, carefully and accurately photographed, described, and presented online. It is exquisite. Sarah, the person who managed my purchase, was outstanding. She was competent and pleasant and completely unfazed by my (somewhat out-of-the-ordinary) arrangement for picking up the item. Highly recommend! Thank you all so much!

I waited 25 minutes for two sandwiches and one coffee. Oat milk latte was made with with dairy. There was NO ONE in the restaurant. It was filthy. I looked in the kitchen after I ordered, it was so dirty. Service was just as terrible. I would be appalled if my buisness was being run this way. Won’t spent any more money here!

Final straw. This is the worst place to go. They do not know how to take any order properly. They either over charge you or claim you didn't order properly. We order the exact same thing every time we come in. The last 3 times have been different totals. Today was it. When I questioned why we had missing items she claimed it was my fault and she only charged me for each item. Number one, I thoroughly check the screen before paying to ensure accuracy. Number two, ordering breakfast is a joke, I don't know if it's because everyone is so busy talking in the back that they can't comprehend what people are saying or they just don't care. Never have I ever had such issues with ordering. I didn't realize ordering 3 simple combos was going to be such a headache.
Melissa S — Google review
The worst bagel I've ever had, I didn't realize he was making my order, but he toasted my bagels, buttered them then wrapped them up - only to (a few orders later) seemingly realize they were supposed to have cream cheese and finally give them too me. They were all ice cold by the time I got my order and as I said, the worst bagels I've ever had.
Emily M — Google review
No drive thru non-exsistent service. Went in and stood at the counter for several minutes and wasnt so much as acknowledged. The store was nearly entirely empty and the two women working there behind the counter blatantly ignored me while the conversed. As someone who has worked in customer service a long time to not, AT LEAST, tell your only customer that you need a minute to get to them abysmal.
SeaReinas C — Google review
The store itself was clean and tidy. The servers were pleasant but the service was very slow, there was a line up of 5-6 people and they even forgot about our order. So it may be a hit and miss store. This was my first time there and I will say it wasn't the best Tim Hortons I have been to. If I go again and my experience is better I will let you all know.
Sarah-Ann L — Google review
This is the second review I’m leaving this monstrosity of a place they are calling a Tim Horton’s. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again this is the worst Timmies I’ve ever been to, they tell you “hang on a second” at the speaker always which creates horrible congestion in the drive thru line. I have waited over 15 minutes for a simple coffee. I will never visit this location again until they sort their lives out.
Jack J — Google review
Where do I start... from the second I walked in I was number 7 in the line up, but it is a coffee shop so I didn't think much of it, was I ever wrong in doing so. It took about 10-15 minutes to place an order, another 10 minutes to wait for them to make coffee seeing how they had run out of it... Lady was complaining about how she had been making coffees all day, but was polite enough to the customers. Their donut cabinets looked rather sad and unstocked as well... I would avoid this Tim Hortons at all costs.

White Spot Courtenay, located in the charming city of Courtenay, British Columbia, is a delightful destination for families and friends seeking a relaxed dining experience. This beloved eatery has been serving up hearty comfort food since 1928, making it a staple in the community. The menu boasts an impressive selection of mouthwatering dishes, including their famous burgers, classic pasta options, and fresh salads that cater to all tastes.
The secret about White Spot you don"t know. We are long time residents of the Comox Valley and frequently drop by the White Spot for their Toasted Shrimp Sandwich. I usually split it but today I ordered their Poutine as a side. OMG was that good with the best gravy I have ever tasted, I think I can say they have the BEST Poutine in the Comox Valley. Well done White Spot you always have some secret surprises.

5-Star Review for White Spot – Courtenay We had a fantastic dining experience at White Spot in Courtenay! The food was fresh, delicious, and served promptly — everything we ordered came out just right. What really made our visit stand out was our server, Taylor. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Her timing was perfect — she was attentive without being intrusive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. It’s clear she takes pride in what she does. Big thanks to Taylor and the team for making our meal so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back!

Went here for dinner tonight. Our drinks were good but only 2/4 dishes were okay. The other two were soggy, cold and inedible. No one came to check if everything was okay after the food came out. If I could 0 star review this place I would. From the moment we walked in our server with the glasses tall brown hair tayra or something goes sit down somewhere and walks past us. Okay so we did, we find a table had to flag her down every interaction we had she didn't come check in on the table without and excuse me. The food was trash for the price. The fires are comparable to the ones you buy at super store, the fish and chips eh not terrible but would totally go to Roy's town if I want better quality fish. Wings were soooooo over seasoned and my drink was basically all lime juice (sea cucumber). That atmosphere seemed nice for the regulars that were there but for someone who isn't a regular we were treated second class. Save your money go anywhere else in the valley!

I went through the drive through and was asked to give a google review of 3.9 or better. This was prior to even been given my food. Now I find that this place since new people took over is hit or miss. They either don't change the oil, or bought cheaper oil and it effects the taste of the food. Now I usually drive to the other one in town as I have no compliants with the one on Ryan. But this one on cliffe - is always cold, never comes hot enough and has a weird smell to things cooked in oil. I was taken aback - you cannot ask for a review BEFORE you ensure you food is up to snuff and it just isn't. I have actually thrown out my last two orders from you and now I wont be back. Since you don't actually fix the issues, you just want reviews
