Chico Marketplace

Shopping mall
Chico Marketplace is a low-key shopping mall with popular national retail chains and a variety of dining options. The mall features an array of shops, including favorites like the Vans store and Coast Board shop, offering plenty of choices for clothing. While the food court is not extensive, there are options such as a pretzel place, Cinnabon, and an ice cream spot. Additionally, the marketplace is surrounded by various restaurants and fast-food establishments.
This is the 2nd time we've been in and we couldn't be happier. The store is very clean, organized and a joy to walk through. Even the restrooms were spotless! We appreciate the care the employees obviously take to ensure a positive experience. Thank you!

One of the best malls in Northern California for good staples and a relaxed atmosphere no big crowds always get your screen protector replaced at the hut by Game Stop
Megan M — Google review
Very nice place to shop, but some of the stores were still closed. Not a lot of people were there shopping, and social distancing was somewhat practiced. H&M will be here soon. Victoria's Secret is now open, but there is a long line to get in.
T T — Google review
This mall has plenty of stores including lots of clothing shops, an arcade, dicks sporting goods, a gym, a department store, and more. My only complaint is they got rid of the big food court and instead put in a giant chess board. You can still get something to eat in the mall because of the annies pretzels and cinnabon
Sam W — Google review
This shopping center is exceptional. Filled with countless stores that catch the eye as you stroll past. Very nice and friendly people, highly recommend. Only downside is the heat.
Tyler H — Google review
First time at this location. It’s 2:20om service and food are fine but the place is filthy. All the tables have food crumbs or wrappers or something on them, chairs pulled out, sticky soda stains. I could understand if it was the lunch hour rush but they are not busy in here. I think in general it gets old as a consumer to go into any place of business and find it dirty. Especially when it comes to where we eat . If management is going to cut back on staff at least put a station somewhere with disinfectant wipes. And I will clean my own table
Stephanie O — Google review
Chico Mall stores put on a great trick or treat for the kids! Our kids had a blast. Just wonder what happened to all of the restraunts in food court??? Kinda sad... But, the kids loved all the candy!

Restaurant
Sierra Nevada Taproom & Restaurant, located in Downtown Chico, has been serving fine dining with a Western twist since the 1970s. The historic dining room is known for its delicious entrees like taquitos, queso, and beef enchiladas. One of their popular dishes is the Saltillo Dinner, which includes two enchiladas (beef and cheese), Spanish rice, and refried beans.
A well situated, iconic brewery that is very much an important landmark, tourist stop, and employer for Chico, CA. Food was very good. Service was excellent, Everything exceeded expectations. The beer selection was surprising large. I can highly recommend the malty "Reign Czech" beer which is seasonal. I also appreciated employees relating that they love their jobs and they are treated very well by the employer. Pride and care is noted in the facility, with a large upstairs for events, plenty of parking, gift shop and available brewery tours.

Visited here with friends. Wasn't disappointed in anything! Glad I didn't order a meal cause the appetizers were huge! Everything was delicious! Happy that hubby shared a bite of his salmon it was incredible!
Michelle J — Google review
I haven't been here since before the remodel, but the new setup looks great. It's got a very open design. The service was top-notch and the food was amazing. I got the Spicy Pep Pep pizza and it was a masterpiece. I'll definitely be ordering again. And of course they have a thousand beers to choose from. It's a good place to meet with friends, but be warned that it gets quite loud, so y'all may need to shout a little in order to hear each other.

Went for a show in the Big room. It's a great little venue. Beer , wine and food available before and during the show. Restaurant was amazing. The dark wood and copper decor is great.

I and my wife and three kids are here tonight, and we absolutely loved our food! We had the salmon, jalapeño pepper burger, the pretzel with beer cheese, the sausage appetizer, and the kids grilled cheese with tomato soup. It’s been ages since we’ve had such amazing flavors at a restaurant, even before COVID. The menu and the kitchen are incredible! We can’t believe how much we enjoyed the food! Our server Courtney was wonderful and seriously knows what good service is about. 10 out of 10!

Nice to have a drink and play some suffel board here but it's expensive to eat. Kinda a tourist trap. Pizza use to be much better. The appetizer garlic bread was good and okay priced! I recommend trying that out.

Brewery
Brewpub
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is a family-owned craft brewery located in Chico, offering tours and tastings of their range of bold and wild beers inspired by the nearby Sierra Nevada Mountains. The brewery provides various tour options, including visits to the brewhouse vessels, fermenters, and packaging facility, as well as insights into the beer-making process and ingredient sourcing. Wow, my only wish is that I had two stomachs! Definitely worth driving five hours for! This brewery has been on our bucket list for so long! I'm glad we made the trip and it was definitely worth it! Not only was the beer good but the food was delicious and the staff was phenomenal! We are spending the night in the area and will be back in the morning for lunch because it was so good and there were so many plates we wanted to try! Tonight I had the rooster chicken sandwich tossed in their buffalo sauce. My wife had the fish tacos. We both loved our meal! As an appetizer we had the pretzel and it was the first time I had wished there was more pretzel because there was so much cheese! Everything was delicious and it was a great experience overall! The kids cheese pizza and broccoli macaroni and cheese were big hits as well! Glad we went out of our way for this!

Visited May 17th. See receipt as always. Wow..love this place in Chico! They open at 11am and the line was forming fast!! They do take reservations but was unable to get one so I got there early ( 1050am!) We sat up at the bar and we were served immediately. We are not big drinkers so we tried the beer sampler ( 4 beers). Really liked the porter! We split the huge pretzel with some yummy beer cheese and it was warm and delicious! ( plus leftovers). We also split the smash burger and chips. The burger was perfect and the chips had a little spice to them which we really liked! ( more leftovers!) It was packed within a half hour due to large groups coming in for graduation. It's a fun atmosphere with friendly employees as well as friendly diners. Good portions and a great menu to choose from. They also have regular tours which I might do next time! They have indoor and outside seating. Btw...it smells so good when you enter the restaurant...almost like a BBQ! Definitely recommend this place!

Wow! What a experience. The tour is extremely affordable. The guide was most excellent. She gave tour of operations and gave knowledge of how it started along with how everything works. At end of tour, we sit around and try drinks as part of tour. I really want to go again.
Jason W — Google review
Love this place, lots of locally sourced ingredients and reasonable prices. Pride in food and brews shows through in what gets put in front of you. Bar service could use a little less attitude, but seems part of the charm. One of the OG brew houses in Cali and well worth the journey to visit.
Thomas B — Google review
Loved everything about this taproom—about 20 varieties of beer on tap, full service restaurant with good food, and an extensive gift shop. Pro-tip: visit the gift shop first, as it closes earlier and is accessed through a separate entrance about 50 yards from the taproom (there is also a small beer counter with taps in the gift shop area).
Marc H — Google review
Jen was the best possible tour guide, knowledgeable and personable. The tour wasn’t too long and showed just enough of the business to learn something without giving away secrets. Ending the tour with a beer flight and next to the gift ship is genius!

This brewery never dissapoints, all their styles I have tried are good to great. Right now I took a break in my autumn forest walk to enjoy a lovely and powerful Narwhal barrel aged imperial stout, cheers!

The Premier restaurant in Northern California!! Delicious and innovative food and beer! The decor is spectacular and the facility is spacious, yet cozy. All of the staff are great. We were lucky and our server , Rachelle, guided us through food and beverage options with a thorough knowledge of the menu as well as the history of Sierra Nevada brewing. Rachelle made an impression on us and was delightful! Recommend the Innovation beer: Boat Plane, one of the best beers I've tasted in a long time! Bravo to the Sierra Nevada team!

Hours on the website are totally wrong... Came from Corning at 12 cuz that's the opening time according to on line. Mini golf is under construction No water running in the area The punching bag just swings free doesn't register.... Don't put your money in cuz even though the attendant said it was broken he ripped them off as he would NOT give them back the 4 quarters. They played pool and batting cages were ok. Brought the kids from NY for a couple of weeks.... Next time I'll go up to red bluff to play.

The mini golf course is cute. There was one hole that was under construction, but it was posted very nicely. There's a cute arcade and ice cream inside. There's a nice party room and tables outside. The service was great. The two young men working were very pleasant.

I love this place but there are 2 kids that work on the floor that are definitely not 21 and they smell like marijuanna, very concerning and I don't need my kids smelling that and I don't want to either. Btw I know it's them because I only smell it when they are near me. They are the ones that do tricks on the rink. A white blonde haired kid and an African American.

What a delightful fun center! The mini golf course is fun and challenging. There's no wind mill, but the over the water bridge shot more than makes up for that. There's air hockey, video games and a batting cage ($1.5 for 15 pitches). It's all fit in a compact space that makes it quick and easy to get from one activity to another. My family had a great time.

Park
Caper Acres is a fairytale-themed playground located less than a mile from downtown in Lower Park. The park offers elaborate play structures, group/picnic facilities, and is dog-friendly. Visitors can also take a dip in Sycamore Pool, bike the shady trails, or explore the rugged Upper Park with activities like hiking Monkey Face rock and visiting Bidwell Park Golf Course.
This is the best park for families with kids of various ages. There really is something for everyone. I feel comfortable letting my toddler roam around and explore. The shaded area is perfect to let little babies lay on blankets while toddlers play.
Julia W — Google review
One of the best parks Chico has to offer. Our kids could play there all day long and not get bored. I love that there's always a beautiful mix of cultures and walks of life and seeing all of the kids play together and enjoy each other's company feels like a beautiful break from the serious and sometimes separated world outside the fence.
Rebekah C — Google review
Beautiful area for the family, plenty of space, and different benches throughout to sit at. They also have a variety of playgrounds for different ages, the playground also has its own bathrooms..
J. P — Google review
Apparently, Caper Acres is officially a dog park. We were there for an hour or so and saw 5 people with their dogs. One person even tied their dog to a bench and just left it there. I had never seen so many kids there. It would be nice if someone would enforce the park rules. I also wish they would repair the drinking fountains.
Joshua M — Google review
This is my favorite park! On of the most beautiful, creative children’s playgrounds I’ve played on! Found this park when my Son was 4yrs old and frequent it for years until I moved. Got to introduce my twins to the park this past Saturday and they had a blast, they loved it just as much as their brother did when he was 4yrs old. Now he’s 13yrs old, but he’s still had tons of fun with his little brothers! What a great day! Plus, the park is dog friendly. The only place they prohibit dogs in the park is in the actual caper acres playground, which I thought is a good rule. Definitely recommend this park to anybody, kid or no kid, dog or no dog it’s a beautiful place to enjoy nature. The pictures don’t show all of the fun, there’s so much more, like the hammock swing, and that’s why I took the time to do this review.🙂Have fun!
Strawberry R — Google review
Caper Acres was a great park for the kids. My daughter really enjoyed it. There are about 5 or 6 different sections to this park. Each section is different so your child will get a variety of activities when they are here. I would highly recommend park. It was much nicer in person. I will definitely come back with my daughter.
Hoai N — Google review
I wish this park was around when I was a kid. I mean there's actually a REAL legit TEETER TOTTTER! I haven't seen one in years so, yes, I was excited and had to get on it with my friend. We played with the kids on the playground like we were one, because it was just that awesome. And it's huge, there's lots to do. Definitely want to bring my son there again soon🤩👍
Mina A — Google review
Great park with fall colors and smells. Good open areas for throwing balls for dogs. Nice overgrown paths along creek. A map of the park and facilities would be welcome. Let dog off leash and swim in creek. No signs to indicate otherwise. And a supply of plastic bags would be nice too.

Operating year-round on Saturdays and Wednesdays, the market features freshly picked fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, honey, olive oil, meats, eggs, artisan breads as well as prepared foods. This is by far the best Farmers Market.. you almost have to visit it in person to understand and feel the vibe it's such a nostalgic feeling and let alone the amazing variety of high-quality fruits and vegetables
B. K — Google review
Chico Certified Farmers Market is a vibrant community hub for fresh, local produce. Spanning a wide variety of seasonal goods, it consistently delivers on quality and variety. From plump, organic fruits to artisanal cheeses, the selection is impressive. Friendly vendors, often the growers themselves, offer a personal touch, sharing insights and recipe ideas. It's a delightful place to engage with the agricultural heartbeat of Chico. The market's atmosphere is lively, with live music and a buzzing crowd, making it an ideal weekend outing. Prices can lean towards premium, but the quality justifies it. Whether you're a foodie or simply seeking wholesome groceries, this market is a must-visit.

Love the Saturday morning market. Fresh fruits and veggies from local frams. Local artisans and musicians. Also lots of various food ready to eat. Baked goods from Sweet Cottage are the best. Sweet Cottage line is always long. If you get Robin’s number you can order whole pies and quiches ahead of time. The pie pan has a five dollar deposit.

This Farmers Market is a pretty good size. Lots of Fresh fruits, vegetables, and even some gorgeous floral booths. I stumbled across a lady that did frozen prepared Sicilian food as well....if I didn't have an hours drive I would have bought some. It's worth the trip out.

Love this small yet everything you need farmers market. Where else can you taste Sierra Nevada, get some delicious sea food then stumble over to some Indian food. Tons of plants and other household goods not just food. I highly suggest the olives from Adams ranch specifically the habanero stuffed one's make a tasty martini.

Very adorable, interesting, and robust farmers market. Much larger and better layout that the one in Fresno that I’m used to. All the basics (and plenty to choose from) covered-cheese, honey, produce, fresh and cured meats, multiple coffee and tea vendors and much more! They had a few people performing acoustic music as well. Very charming! A must visit on a Chico weekend. Great location in Downtown too, lots to see and do nearby.

Grana is a modern Italian restaurant offering farm-fresh dishes, charcuterie, and wood-fired pizzas along with a selection of beer and wine. The menu features salads, small dishes, and an array of pizza options. Breakfast is served daily until late morning, featuring omelettes and eggs with various accompaniments. Grana is known for its amazing food and attentive wait staff. It provides a high-end gourmet dining experience in a casual atmosphere where patrons can enjoy seasonal specialties.
Delicious farm-to-table food from local farmers and peaceful patio dining make this an excellent location for lunch or a night out. I highly recommend! The service is great and the patio has many birds and critters who add to the ambience.
Komal K — Google review
I had a dinner with a girlfriend at Grana back in late October. It was my first time there, but my friend is a regular & wine club member. We arrived for our 6pm patio reservation right on time to find out they had just given our table away. After unraveling what had been done on their end, they scrambled to find us space. It wasn't an ideal first impression. We caught the patio on a perfect Chico evening - not too hot, not yet cold - and it was a really aesthetically pleasant space. Dog friendly, too! Since my friend is a wine club member, we started with a tasting. Hers ended up being complimentary, while mine was not. I don't know of another wine club that doesn't include tastings for the member + 1-3 guests. It was odd, at minimum. Our server was attentive and kind, and overall the food was good. The wedge salad was crunchy & fresh, and composed in a thoughtful & artistic way. The sausage & pepper pizza was also good, just enough to split with my friend. I'm not sure it earned a $27 price tag, though (size, ingredients, flavor, etc). Bodega Slice Shop is putting out better pies at a fraction of the price. All in all, the Grana patio was pretty ideal in terms of ambiance for a girls night with an old friend. The wine & food was good, but pricey for the value, so it'll probably take another invite from her to bring me back.
Jamie H — Google review
We had a scholarship celebration for a small party. The food and service were exemplary. Our party included people 7 years to 70 and all found menu items they loved. The patio is perfect, shaded, and not crowded together.

Thanks, grana!!

Grana never disappoints me. We were fortunate to go on a Friday night and get a table outside. (Reservations are always recommended). I had the Gazpacho which was outstanding and a side of roasted Italian sweet peppers. I liked the rustic texture of the Gazpacho and the peppers were incredibly fresh and sweet. The service was excellent!

I wasn't sure where to go for Father's Day weekend, but always appreciate a good Italian style meal. I had never been here before and hadn't heard anything about it, but I was honestly blown away that was the case after giving Grana a try. Service was amazing, they have a nice outdoor area, and the food was great. One thing in particular that I noticed here that isn't always the case at a restaurant is that they did not rush you out. We stayed for 2 hours, enjoyed our food and wine, and the waiter genuinely only came around to provide service. I would definitely recommend coming here and will certainly be coming back.

Mexican restaurant
Chipotle Mexican Grill is a fast-food establishment that specializes in Mexican cuisine. They offer a variety of customizable food options such as build-your-own burritos, tacos, and bowls. The staff members are polite, the service is exceptionally prompt, and they are generous with their chicken portions unlike some other Chipotles. Although seating may be limited inside, customers can enjoy their meals outdoors on the patio area.
They remade my bowl after the rice was too salty and the staff was very friendly. 5/5 would recommend.
Komal A — Google review
Good place to grab food during a lunch break as I frequent it every Friday. Portion sizes have dropped a little, but a burrito bowl still cold me up and sometimes I eat the other half later. It's crowded inside for dining and outside is right next to the road. I usually just take it to go. It gets busy around noon, but generally they deal with the lines quickly and service is great.
Glenn J — Google review
I had a disappointing experience here on August 16th around 5:47 PM. When I asked the older gentleman at the register if he could check whether I had any rewards, his response was, “I don’t know, you tell me,” which came across as unhelpful. On top of that, I paid $15 for a bowl and received a very small portion that definitely did not feel worth the price. The service was poor, the value wasn’t there, and overall I left feeling unsatisfied. I would recommend not going to this location.
Julian M — Google review
I’m just tired of getting skimped on portions. The workers are also just rude. Lady with Native American descent acted like it’s her job to act like she hates her job, while all I’m tryna do is get a burrito. It’s the end of the night, and the lady gives me the most small not even half scoop of meat known to man. I told her I need a full scoop or I’m not paying for this. She rolled her eyes and gave me slightly more, fine whatever. And I’m not a big guy, and I don’t usually care if I get slightly less meat than normal, but this scoop was insultingly tiny. Like, even someone with social anxiety would say something it was so small. Then I ask for guac and she gives me maybe 2 small bites worth of guac. I didn’t argue with her and just accepted it. But like jesus if you hate your job so much work somewhere else.

I've been to a lot of different Chipotles. this one on 20th customer service was rude. today is February 1st at 3:00 p.m. 2025. won't be back to this one and may just find a whole another place to go. pita pit sounds a lot better about right now.. not quite sure how they got a four rating. the service great that is zero atmosphere of 0 because they made me feel so uncomfortable being in there. worst experience ever I would not recommend this place to anyone. I wish I would have read the reviews before I spent my money at this place. I will not be returning as a matter of fact I won't be going to any Chipotles there's plenty of the restaurants to get my food. First off the girl making the food was complimenting a guy in front of me she was making his bowl like it should be made she gave him plenty of everything. so then it's my turn she gave me half of the ingredients then what she gave him. so then I thought well maybe he asked for extra everything or something I don't know. but then I get to the cashier and I asked if I can have salsa she said there's two sauces I said okay and she said I'll be right back she walked away and never came back. I was like wow really you're just going to turn your back on me. so then as I'm standing there waiting the girl that was making the food continue to help the other customers then the cashier comes back up you know that customers paid for their order and I'm still standing there like where's My salsa and then after they served everybody else then she goes she also wants salsa. so I actually stood there just to get some salsa when all they had to do was just put some in a little cup that's it I could have been on my way. that just made no sense. it's the way that it happened that made it extremely rude. but it's fine there's other places to eat at. I just would like people to be aware of how they may be treated if they go to that establishment on 20th I don't know about the other ones but the one on 20th no good.

you know when you go to a place and place an order, and then they begin to tell you what they are out of as you walk thru the door, that was my experience at the local Chipotle. Food is always good, but no mild salsa, no corn, no guacamole, no b.s. this was pretty disappointing especially at 8pm when they don't close until 11pm. I dont eat here often and probably less frequently after this evenings experience.
D — Google review
Says they close at 10, went in at 9:30 and they were VERY rude, gave me 4 SCOOPS OF BEANS probably to try to get rid of the food and fill the bowl, 4 shreds of cheese said they were all OUT OF FORKS and then asked if I wanted chips I said yes and he said they were out of chips. They were playing very loud and very explicit music.
Kaiya R — Google review
Good people. Good service. Generous portions. Yeah it's pricey, like every other Chipotle - once-a-month prices, not once-a-week 😅 Paying for unadulterated, freshly prepared ingredients + the convenience factor.

Gordo Burrito

Mexican restaurant
Gordo Burrito is a counter-serve establishment located in a gas station that specializes in traditional Mexican cuisine, particularly their hearty burritos. It has gained popularity as a go-to place for burrito enthusiasts, even for those who no longer reside in Chico or California and are only able to visit sporadically. Patrons often seize the opportunity to indulge in their favorite burritos and take them to nearby 1 mile for an enjoyable picnic experience.
Go for the food, not the ambiance. Don't let the gas station discourage you from going to get a delicious burrito. They do not sell drinks, but you can go next door and get your beverage and bring it in if you are going to eat in the building. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. A bonus was the cook singing 😊

Glowing reviews from devoted fans, allusions that shrimp burritos were the best in town, that they could do no wrong, etc etc. Curiosity and the chance of finding the one Mexican place to outdo the rest made my lovely companion and not so lovely me drive to Gordo Burrito. First impressions at around 12:30 PM: busy (which is always a good thing) patrons coming and going, a nice outfit of what appeared an all women crew in constant preparation, and knowing that when it comes to good food there are no barriers I ordered from a congenial attendant named Jose the Shrimp Burrito for around $14. Tried to encourage them to make it count, meaning pretty darn good! Even went as far to insinuate I came from headquarters, whatever the heck that meant. Turns out there is a convenience store right beside Gordo. Not a bad option. Burrito arrived wrapped in aluminum foil, not an impressive sight in size. One half went to the beauty, gave her the smallest of the two, the other for the beast not much bigger. Removed the wrapping, looked inside and did not see but one or two shrimp, certainly not whole ones. The bulk of this relatively small burrito was no surprise: rice and refried beans, about 94% of it. This is the sad reality in the world of burritos making, load it with everything but almost never with the main star. My small half tasted good, and apparently my companion’s also did, as she decimated her half rapidly. Their green salsa and fresh diced cucumbers helped. Yes, prices have gone up, I get that but the best in Chico? No way, Jose. Edible, at $7 a small half you bet your hot jalapeños! 3.8 Stars.

This taqueria is attached to a little market. There is a simple outside patio for seating. The food was excellent but most impressive was the friendliness and service of the staff. My dog and I stopped in for a quick lunch before a long drive. I ordered simple taco meat for my dog. They made a special order just for her and it was far more than just two tacos. She is a Great Dane so she enjoyed all of it. Thank you, Gordo Burrito.

Love the little salad bad where you can always go and pick up your own cucumber slices, jalapeños, radishes, green or red salsa, and this pico de gallo type thing :) This is their awesome nachos! I like to order my chips on the side, and nacho cheese on the side too or no nacho cheese at all.

Beautiful little restaurant!! I was expecting mediocre food, but the kitchen crew did an outstanding job! The food was flavorful, I ordered a torta, and the bread was soft but crisp at the edges, with soft meat (surprisingly with NO NERVES) and their salsas and complementary salsa table just hit the spot. The only thing is that it is situated next to a gasoline station, so there’s like 7 parking spots total, otherwise there is free street parking. (There should always be one or two spots open as most clients order to-go)

Super friendly staff, they were actually singing and enjoying themselves at work! The food was so good lots of flavor, not just spicy. I had the crunchy shredded beef tacos 3 for only $7, my friend had a combo and the beans and rice were legit!! Salsa bar had great variety.

This was the best food stop we've made on our whole vacation back to San Diego! We've been missing authentic Mexican food since we left so I have been dreaming of my first birria tacos and these hit the spot! Plus they were super friendly and fast, and they took care of my picky kids special requests. Thanks guys!!!!

Taco Tuesday is getting progressively harder to review, due to not too many establishments left to rate. So, this time I went to Gordo Burrito in search of tacos I hadn't eaten. Chalk this up to another learning experience. Normally I only try street tacos, but they had a special on hard shell (3 for $6) with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and choice of meat (carne asada). I then got 2 street tacos ($1.75 ea), both carne asada, extra spicy (🙄). To say the meat was bland is an understatement... it had ZERO flavor with the exception of the lard it must've been sitting in. Very little onion, mostly cilantro, no lime...and mild at BEST for claiming spicy. The hard shell tacos were overflowing with lettuce, hardly any tomato, a large amount of the sour cream, lemon wedge, and again, NOT spicy. The shells were crisp, but fell apart with the 1st bite. It's getting to the point I may have to try dine-in restaurants for my Taco experiences, but I will NOT return here unless I'm high jacked. I'm getting to old to eat at sub-par food trucks. Read my other reviews...PLENTY of stellar food trucks in town, just not this one.

Nestled in a warm and modern setting, The Rawbar Restaurant & Sushi is a vibrant sushi haven that offers an impressive selection of rolls and Pan-Asian dishes, complemented by a fine array of sakes. This delightful eatery stands out in Chico's culinary scene, making it the perfect spot for an exceptional dinner after exploring the city's diverse dining options.
Rave about Raw Bars sushi class I attended today. What a fantastic experience!!!! So well organized and informational. You can totally see how passionate and caring everyone at Raw Bar is about quality and service. Making our own food was amazing and tasty. I would totally take this class again. Many thanks to Darren and all the staff for a wonderful experience. See you soon for dinner and another class.

Came here for a nice night out. Recommend calling for reservations this place was packed on a Saturday night. That being said the service was amazing and the food still came out fast and pretty delicious. Tried multiple rolls. All had great flavors. Would go back.

This is the type of place where the food justifies a return visit. Order: Shaka Tuna and Baby Greens for the appetizer. Scallop crunch, Salmon Fiesta and the Red Dragon for sushi. Shaka Tuna had these very fine diced picked onions that really added this amazing flavor. It was so tempting to drink the marinade at the bottom! Also the Baby Greens has this amazing sesame based dressing. I thought it was a steal for the price. I think I was so wowed by the apps that no matter what I was going to think the sushi was good, which it was. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was super nice. Lots of staff came and went to pick up their drinks and it seems like the people there are quality and are enjoying themselves.

Visited September 26th...always see my receipt as proof! This place had great reviews in Chico and they were right! Beautiful and sleek inside and out! I love suishi and I ordered the Red dragon because it was spicy! YUM! My boyfriend had the California roll which he enjoyed. BEST was the baby back ribs! YES...their ribs melted right off the bone in a slightly sticky and awesome concoction! Beautiful presentation on all dishes! We also had a glass of wine and a local IPA. They have an extended area that also serves hard alcohol along with beer..wine..sake and specialty drinks. We got there when they opened at 1130am and it was nice and cool inside! They also have outdoor seating that is shaded! It was a Great experience! Thank you Regan and the two awesome suishi chefs...Charlie ( cute petite gal) and Syrjah (i didn't spell his name right..awesome man bun.). Professional and friendly and show pride in what they do! Love the location because it's walking distance to shops! I will be back! 5 star service...classy yet unpretentious and relaxing!
Mary P — Google review
The portions are really small so just order a bunch of stuff and don’t worry about it you can’t fill yourself up here no matter how much you order. The prices aren’t horrible but you’re paying more for the presentation than the taste of the food. The food tastes quite boring there’s very little complexity but the plating is quite cute. It’s incredibly loud even on the deck and people drive by in their cars and do burnouts leaving tire and exhaust smoke. I know that raw bar has no control over this but the location choice was bad. The service was attentive. If you want to impress a Chico local with no taste I’m sure they would be happy to be here so they can post on their Facebook account.

A pleasant Saturday afternoon, and finally a trip to the RAW BAR. Our children eat here all the time, but my Wife and I have never stepped foot into this establishment. It was a criminal act We will never repeat. We were seated immediately, and a server was right there to answer ANY questions we had. After perusing the menu, we ordered to indulge both of our palates. We started with Edamame w/sea salt and Shishito Peppers as appetizers, then ordered the Salmon Poke Bowl (2x the meat), then added a Twin Dragon roll, and a Sweet Chili Philly roll for our main courses. It wasn't 5 minutes before everything started arriving. To say the taste was incredible isn't doing it justice! Fresh ingredients, prepared quickly and professionally, and plated with expertise made this meal a wonder to behold! Please don't forget to ask for the fresh ginger and Wasabi to both cleanse your palate and add a kick to your food. After taking our time to eat, we finished and then added dessert. We ordered the Creme' Brule with Raspberry Sorbet, and the Tempura fried Bananas with Coconut Ice Cream. Both were overwhelming in flavor and plating, and the flavors were very tasty on the tongue! We were so pleased with this place and the food we tipped our server 45%, and tipped each cook $10 for their excellant service and attitude. This rivals Japanese Blossom in appeal and taste, AND is actually better in nuance and seating...nowhere near as noisy either. Repeat customers for LIFE!!

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Upper Bidwell Park, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Rare Air Trampoline Park. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Park
Upper Bidwell Park is a sprawling natural gem located in Chico, CA, offering diverse landscapes and recreational opportunities. Divided into lower, middle, and upper sections, the park features unusual rock formations like the Chico Formation sandstone that add to its beauty. The upper section stands out for its popularity and offers an adventurous experience with cliffs overlooking wildflowers and a creek winding through ancient volcanic rock. It's perfect for hiking enthusiasts seeking Instagram-worthy backdrops.
Diversion Dam – Upper Bidwell Park, Chico, CA Historic concrete dam set between basalt cliffs with rushing creek views. Popular for sunbathing and exploring, but currents are strong—swim with caution. Rugged path in, but worth it for the scenery and vibe.

A plus for the city of Chico- huge park with easy access from town. Plenty of parking and accessible, multi use trails.

It's nice to hit the trails earlier in the day, especially when it's hotter outside. There are plenty of places to cool off in the creek, if you explore the lower trails. Bring your dog, if you have one.

Hiked the Yahi Trail. Beautiful fall colors and temperatures are perfect this time of year. Kid friendly adventuresome hike for 8 year old. The trail is mostly flat and runs along the creek. Lots of places to meditate or have a picnic. We went back on the road which was not too bad given we saw only five cars. Beautiful park great for hiking and summer swimming.

There are clear paths with different difficulties. Ample space to roam with your canine friend; they are supposed to be on leash though most aren't: beware. With California rain being up and out there is plenty of greenery and places to take pictures if hiking isn't really your thing. As mentioned before there has been a lot of rain recently so the river is currently strong- watch out for your puppers and children. As far as I saw, there wasn't anyone enforcing any of the rules. If it a popular place so the parking may be a little difficult.

Hooker Oak Park is a recreational area that features baseball/softball fields, horseshoe pits, a playground, and picnic areas. This park provides ample shade throughout the day, except for the playground area. However, there are nearby shaded sitting spots available. The playground itself is basic but offers plenty of space for kids to expend their energy or for dog owners to take their pets for a walk. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times within the park premises.
Beautiful park. Nice playground for kids and a beautiful creek running through the back. Probably the cleanest public park bathroom I have ever seen. We will definitely visit again.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of South Chico, Community Park is a sprawling 40-acre public recreation haven that caters to all ages and interests. This park is a true gem for outdoor enthusiasts, featuring two playgrounds designed for children of different age groups, as well as picnic areas equipped with tables and barbecues perfect for family gatherings.
This a beautiful park, nice place to come with family and friends and to have fun and enjoy the environment. It’s children friendly. It has a place to play volleyball. You can as well play soccer. The grass is so green and I love the trees because you have shade during summer especially on a. Hot day. You will surely love this place and have fun here. I think you will surely love it. Come have fun. God bless you as you enjoy your time.

Lots of big open field, baseball fields, about 5 disc golf baskets, pickle ball and tennis courts, there’s a play structure for little kids and another one for toddlers and the picnic tables are nearby, and there’s even an area designated for dogs as well as a bag dispenser to clean up after them. However… All year long, most days of the week the afternoons the sports take up EVERY SINGLE PART OF THOSE FIELDS so if you’re not doing that you’ll find no room for anything else, the homeless set up at the picnic tables all day everyday as soon as the sun comes up (I know this from going to play disc golf there before too many people are around), and a lot of people don’t pick up after they walk their dogs in the fields where people play.
Berneice P — Google review
It has a bathroom that's a little on the dated side but everything is in working order and well maintained. They don't have soap in the bathroom so bring your own. Also, for an area that commonly get triple digits in the summer, this park has one of the kindest constructed parking lots that I've come across. Trees were strategically placed all around and inside the parking lot so that there is plenty of shade and it's easy to park in it. The park is very dog friendly and even has an off leash area at the far end of the park. Also, because it is a sports park (multiple baseball fields and tennis courts), there are working water fountains scattered across it.
Sarah O — Google review
There is alot of activities at this park. Several tennis courts, soccer fields basketball quarts. I went to watch my grandkids soccer games. Parking is crowded. There were several games playing at one time and there is only one way in and one way out of the very long parking lot. No empty spots to park towards the end where my grandsons game was at, and only outhouse (portable) restrooms where we were. Grass is beautiful and green. The whole park has a paved path around it.

First time reserving a party room. The Blue Sponges Bob room was amazing. The murals on the walls were wonderful. They provided cups plates napkins forks and even offered up candles in case we forgot ours. The staff was also amazing. We ordered soda and pizza. And the kids had a blast!

Grandkids loved it - an hour was enough time for them to bounce around on a day off school. The obstacle course was open the next time we went and was a big hit with my 7 year old granddaughter. Staff attentive and monitored areas well for safety. Glad we brought our socks back with us the second time otherwise $4 per pair mandatory.

Update 2024: I think the pizza changed it's not good at all anymore, it's thin and tasted bad. Two kids didn't like it and I didn't either. I feel like if I'm paying for food and drinks I shouldn't have to wait an hour to get them. Especially drinks! The kids were thirsty 20 mins into jumping which is why I got lemonade. I also don't think they give 1 hour jump passes and stickers for the bday child anymore... 2022: Super fun Love the prizes and birthday rooms!

One employee was really good with the kids and helped my son onto the trapeze because he was afraid to jump, then when employees rotated he was very cold towards my son and wasn't even trying to hold it close enough for him to grab. But otherwise the kids had a blast on all the different trampoline activities there. Good place for birthday parties.

Taco Bell, a fast-food establishment known for its Mexican-inspired menu featuring tacos, quesadillas, and nachos, is typically known for its quick service. However, this particular location seemed to be lacking in efficiency. It took a frustratingly long 25 minutes before customers could place their orders due to three cars ahead of them in line. Unfortunately, the option of backing out was not possible as there were too many cars behind them. Moreover, the server was down which prevented online ordering.
Late night staff was super nice, apologized for the long wait, several cars in front of us ordered a million things. Positive attitudes and good service

There service is terrible nobody was at the cash register I stood there for 5 minutes no one looked up at all finally someone came but I couldn’t pay for my food cause I guess there machines can’t do a simple task? I am sorry but this day and age that shouldn’t be a problem with the technology we have now. I won’t be going to this location again

I patiently waited til we got our food and all i kindly told him was he needs to speak up. I told him the lady on the speaker when we pulled up we could hear but we can barely hear him. The next thing I know we were rudely addressed by idk if it was a manager or not that told us not to treat his employees that way. Well tell me what way I treated your employee rudely, when all I was kindly asking him is to speak up in the speaker.....

After waiting for the food my cousin sitting in the passenger seat kindly told him that we could hear the woman who greeted us on the speaker and kindly suggested that he speak a little louder. A very rude employee came from behind, not knowing what was being said and rudely said were not doing this to my employee and slammed the drive thru door closed. I felt like they were very rude at this taco bell. Also, i asked for nothing spicy to be put on my burrito and they loaded it with the sauce that is spicy.

Public radio playing extremely partisan political talk shows. not at all appropriate to be listening to discussion of child mutilation with customers trying to enjoy their meals. very disappointed in management for allowing this.

After ordering my food and finding a table, I asked to use the bathroom. I was told that in order to use the bathroom, someone would have to walk me to the bathroom to unlock it for me. This was a yellow key. It was awkward, but I really had to go. Immediately after coming out, I saw a women enter the bathroom with a pink key in her hand that she had been given. I was told pink means it's an employee key, but this person was not wearing employee clothing and did not appear to be an employee. This clearly felt like prejudice to me.

In-N-Out Burger is a classic burger chain known for its customizable burgers, hand-cut fries, and shakes. While some customers have found the atmosphere to be typical of fast food places, others appreciate the outdoor seating options. The drive-thru service is often praised for being efficient and quick, with friendly staff members ensuring that orders are promptly taken and served hot and fresh. Despite long lines at times, the employees work diligently to maintain cleanliness and provide top-quality fast food with a smile.
Great food like all locations. This restaurant attracts a lot of business, but they move the customers through efficiently. They were well-staffed when I was there and the staff at the register properly dealt with the issue when my order was messed up. Thank you for making it right In-n-Out Chico. Indoor and outdoor seating, easy highway access. This place upholds the high expectations for the chain. Thanks for the great memories.

**In-N-Out: Fast Food Done Right** In-N-Out Burger never disappoints! Their burgers are simply the best. The juicy patties, fresh toppings, and perfectly toasted buns come together to create a flavor explosion. And let's not forget those world-famous fries! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and undeniably fresh-cut - they're the perfect complement to any meal. The service is always friendly and efficient, making the entire dining experience a pleasure. If you haven't tried In-N-Out yet, you're missing out! #InNOut #fastfood #burgers #fries #goodservice

The food here was amazing, as for any In-N-Out Burger. There is ample seating and the location is perfect for those long drive-thru lines. This location in particular doesn’t leave chillies out unless you ask which I found interesting. Overall, I would visit again. I would recommend the double double with chopped chilies and grilled onions. With a side of fries with grilled onions and spread. Basically animal style fries without the cheese.

I love In and Out! Probably my most favorite restaurant since moving to California. I have Celiac Disease and they do a wonderful job keeping my food safe and with cross contamination they do superb. I’ve never gotten sick yet from eating at In and Out! I get the Protein Style burger with fries and it’s always the same and delicious. I also appreciate how friendly and nice the staff always are. Thanks for making a great place for us to enjoy!

Jovahny is a top-tier employee—10/10! His customer service is outstanding, and he’s an all-around great individual. I had a bug on my car, and before I even noticed it, he had already taken care of it. It’s rare to find such genuine and thoughtful people these days. In-N-Out should definitely hire more awesome team members like him!

Whataburger has nothing on In-N-Out, always the best burger, and consistent service and quality at every location.

I love how efficient the staff are. They are always cheerful, courteous, and quick, even when it's super busy. My kids like food, even my pickiest eater, and I appreciate how accommodating they are to requests like protein style burgers, extra crispy fries, and extra sauce packets. My 7yo LOVES the free hot cocoa for kids on rainy days. My favorite thing about this location is the employee, Kirk. He is like the In-N-Out grandpa and he keeps the place clean during rushes and busy times. I appreciate his work and his smile!

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Celestino's | Pasta & Pizza. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure you have a memorable time, making it easy to choose from their mouthwatering menu options. Guests rave about the flavorful dishes like Thai peanut wings and unique mac and cheese variations that are sure to satisfy any palate.
It's a football family Monday and we chose pizza for our dinner out this week. The crew was amazing they made us laugh and did a great job helping us figure out what we all wanted. Thank you to Ryan, Tyler, John, Connor, Shai, and Nicholas. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was a great end to our family day. Can't wait to come back again.

The store is really dirty. The walls next to the fountain drinks are filthy, makes me worried for inside of the machine! I appreciate the amount of cheese the put on my salad, because they've never given me anything but onions I'm the past. The pizza was really black on the bottom and left the paper plate black. And my mouth. The person who took my order was nice though.

I hate giving bad reviews, But I also wouldn't feel good if I didn't say something. I read reviews and they help me make a decisions. I am a Celestinos fan.I worked at the first one when they opened downtown decades ago. This one on East Avenue seems to be going downhill more and more.I will never order slices from there again. The crust tastes different, quality is poor. I ordered 6 slices to go in a rush.Didn't really look at them till I got home. They were all dried out like they'd been sitting all day. Warmed a few up and we're way too old and chewy. I spit out the Hawaiian because I could not chew the ham. For the owner if you care this is the date I went Sept 25, 624pm. I am making a big guess its not affiliated with the downtown location.

First time coming to this location and not only was the pizza every bit as good as downtown, but the service was above and beyond friendly and courteous to every single guest who came in while I was dining. I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but the staff working today deserved it.

Not the friendliest place or the best pizza in town but they do sell pizza by the slice. Definitely not a good place to take your family because it is a very small restaurant so it’s best to take your order home with you.

Red Tavern is a charming garden bistro offering a seasonal American and Mediterranean menu, complemented by an extensive wine selection. Tucked away from the bustling street, the restaurant's secret garden patio is adorned with twinkling lights and features a Bocce Ball court, creating a romantic ambiance for guests to enjoy live music while savoring fine wines under the starry sky. Additionally, visitors can purchase Camina's bread at various locations including Red Tavern.
I've been here a few times now and the experience has always been great. The food, the service, the atmosphere, all perfect. Whether it's just my wife and I or a group of 10+, they always manage to handle things perfectly. I particularly love to sit out on the back patio on a nice evening, they sometimes have live music which gives the best vibe for a nice dinner. Their menu changes, not too often mind you, so what I've had may or may not be on it when you go. In the 3-4 times that I've gone, I've ordered different cuts of steak that might be available at the time and they're always cooked perfectly and well-complimented with the sides. It's one of the classiest places to dine in Chico, excellent for a date night or a low-key celebration with friends and/or family. The personal touches are all over this restaurant and the owners are wonderful hosts with an excellent staff.

Absolutely incredible. My first time here and my husband and I were sat by Micheal who was friendly and handed us an open menu and made things feel so inviting. Shay was our server and she was awesome, very well spoken, very informed on the menu, and checked on us consistently. The young girl dropping off the food was also incredibly nice… I truly haven’t had service like this as long as I can remember. The food was absolutely 10/10. We got some appetizers that were delicious and I was impressed with how hot everything came out, like it hit the plate and was walked out the door immediately. This has by far the best steak in town, well over even the fancy “steak houses”. Lastly the price was very reasonable even after we splurged a bit. Can’t wait to come back and bring my in-laws!

Good food and cozy atmosphere! Located in the heart of chico is this unpretentious building where the Red Tavern is located. They open at 430pm and happy hour specials are available until 6pm. The place is somewhat small but they were packed by 530 pm today (december 20). We ordered the 10 ounce steak and the 11 dollar happy hour shrimp. The shrimp was awesome with butter and garlic. We split the steak but it was too rare for me. Dessert was a eggnog cheesecake which was delicious! Shae (our waitress) was friendly and attentive. The owner came by a few times to check on us which i thought was a very kind gesture. They have a full bar and outdoor seating with heaters. Overall a good experience and would definitely come again! See receipt for pricing.

Finally made it to one of the top 5 restaurants in town according to the local foodies. Wish the locals had a little more class and had more in their wardrobe besides blue jeans. Moved here in July, and chose it for my birthday dinner. Could never have sat outside in Michigan this time of year. Unfortunately because of all the rain the mosquitoes were worse than a spring in the upper peninsula. Sydney was an excellent waiter. Appetizer was substantial and delicious, l recommend. Beat salad was unique, my late father would have loved. Scallop special was a must, should become a standard. Filet Oscar was larger than expected and perfectly cooked. Bernaise sauce tasted more like hollandaise. Lobster claw was dry, and Oscar is usually crab. Why smash asparagus into whipped potatoes to make a tower? Try laying them like a lean-to. Lava cake and Gelato that tastes like ice cream is to die for. Only noteworthy dessert item by far. Will be back.

Great place to go if you're looking for something with a good vibe and great service — food is a little on the pricier side, but that's okay. I highly recommend the Sourdough Burger! Delicious :) Has a lot of burgers with bbq sauce, and while I'm not a fan, it's great for people who are. Very kind and patient staff, great music playing — announcements are a bit loud, but that's understandable, considering how busy they get at times. Overall an 8/10! Great for tourists or visitors!

Went on a trip to Chico and decided to try this gem. Friends have told me this was a super popular place for the college folk to go and indeed the restaurant has a hip pub-like atmosphere. The good: The atmosphere was pretty fun. There were a lot of young families when we went and the staff was very welcoming. Great location. Great area of town. Historic building. The food came out fast. Their burgers were really good. I ordered the Papa bear and also a side of onion rings. The burger was juicy, properly cooked, and well seasoned. The bun tasted fresh and the sauces were great. The BBQ sauce they keep on the tables is just the right blend of sweet and spicy. The fries were very good too and cooked just right and salted properly. Lots of places to sit and eat on a Sunday afternoon. The bad: The onions rings were a bit of a miss. Ours seemed over cooked and over salted. The ranch also tasted yuck. There is ranch you can get cheap at the store that tasted better than what they serve here so they should just switch to another brand. They don't offer Coke Zero or fun drinks like Angry Orchard or Mikes. In the ladies restroom my wife witnessed some young ladies who were sick and ready to puke due to too much alcohol. I think the restaurant needs to cut people off before they get like this. It's in their interest to not have to clean puke from everywhere in a restroom. The mens restroom smelled a bit and was in need of a remodel. Overall: It was a fun experience and I can see myself going back and trying new things on the menu.

The food was pretty good. Had a good time there. I loved their onion rings. I had the beer cheeseburger, it was really good. Everything was made fresh. The fries that came with that were delicious and the onion rings were ordered separately. Everybody was very nice. 8-26-22 Visited again. Again the food was delicious. Everyone was friendly. I really appreciate the staff here.

Just amazing!! Love that there is options but it’s not a huge menu. Fish tacos, Mac n cheese and wings hit the spot!! Was wanting to try the pho but it’s not available during the summer. Our server was sweet and it was great that you could seat yourself. The atmosphere was nice, could make for a great date night, spot to hang with friends or wanting to grab a drink!

Stopped in for a quick apatizer and a beer. They had a better selection of draft beers than a lot of places. I ordered a Great White and the Honey hot smoked wings with blu cheese. The food came quick and hot! In terms of spicy, they were not spicy at all, so if you're looking for a spicy wing you may want to try the buffalo sauce (I haven't tried it, I just assume it will have more kick). However, I was not disappointed! The honey glaze was excellent, not too sticky, sweet, and savory. The smokeyness of the chicken really came through, giving a full body blend of smokey and sweet that I loved. The chicken was cooked perfectly, hot and juicy! I will definitely go back to try more of their dishes. They have some interesting lunch combos that come with I think an entree a shot and a beer. The food is good enough that I would come here even if I wasn't going to drink.

Good food but it's downtown so geared to the college age crowd. I had the Atlantic cod po' boy and the mac and cheese with jalapeno on the side and both were delicious but a very pricey dinner. 35 apiece with tip and only 1 drink.

Atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming, music playing but not so loud you can't think or have to yell at each other. The service was fantastic, personable and friendly and made sure we were happy. The food was amazing, large portions, everyone was impressed by the food and we are very picky when we order out because it can be expensive. The price is about what you'd expect for dining out and so many times I've paid $20 for a meal I've been disappointed in but this was NOT the case, money for actual quality. You won't be disappointed 👌

Last Sunday evening… Female bartender edgy with plenty of attitude and awkward annoyed blank stares when taking orders. Not nice. Amazingly though, with her friends at the bar chatting and laughing seemed like a whole different person. First time here. I came for the smoked wings which were great. Other male bartender super nice with friendly demeanor. I guess if you are a regular you are treated differently. Stopped here on a road trip back from Lassen.

My friend liked her vegan burger but the atmosphere wasn’t the best. Music was way too loud- could not have a conversation :( Lighting was really dark and mostly red lol. Crush is a modern eatery that offers Italian cuisine and brick-oven pizzas, along with a lounge area and an extensive wine selection. The establishment has managed to overcome the challenges posed by COVID-19, which is commendable. Guests have praised the friendly service, delicious cocktails, and most notably, the food. Dishes such as the sea bass special and filet have received high acclaim. Furthermore, patrons were impressed by unique additions like thin slices of beef in their lasagna dish.
This is definitely a great place for any small celebration. I suggest the fig and prosciutto pizza, which was really good, with gorgonzola and scallion. My wife had the ricotta gnocchi, which had a truffle cream sauce that was also very good. We liked the truffle fries and garlic aioli. Overall everyone in our group liked their options and the dish they chose. The plate art on the oil and vinegar dip was very cute. The Christmas decorations were a very nice touch as well, it made the place feel very cozy.

Originally from Long Island, New York, I’m a lifelong lover of Italian food, and it’s a rarity to find a place out here that truly hits home. Crush does it every time. My daughter goes to Chico State, and when I visit, this is our spot. Crush has become our mom-daughter date night go-to, and we’re never disappointed. The atmosphere is warm, the service is attentive, and the food is consistently delicious. The bruschetta is our absolute favorite — fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. Cheers!

Wasn't sure if this place would live up to the hype. I was very happy that it did. Arrived ten minutes before happy hour ended. Most places won't even bother to offer it to at that point but the server at the bar made sure we knew so we could get in an order before it closed off. Drinks were excellent. Gorgonzola salad was excellent. Crush pizza was excellent. Dessert was excellent. Price to food value was excellent.

After a laughably bad experience here a couple of years ago, my wife and I ventured in tonight to give them another shot. The first table we were seated at, we were being splashed by their water feature. We requested another table and while their faces told us they thought we should stick it out in the splash zone, they moved us. At 5:30 we were seated at our new table. We perused the menu and decided on drinks and apps but unfortunately never got to order. Despite 4 or so different waiters walking by, our table seemed to be unclaimed. Knowing this meal would cost close to $150, we decided to cut our losses after being ignored for 20 minutes. On the way out, my wife politely let the staff at the host stand know that we have been waiting for 20 minutes with no one stopping by our table for a drink order and we were going to just go ahead and leave. Both staff members stared at us blankly and never came up with a response of any kind- good or bad. This was almost identical to the service we received on our first visit in 2023, but that time we were inexperienced with what was to come and sat through an excruciating 2.5 hour long experience filled with wrong drinks and food and almost nonexistent service. Do your self a favor and go anywhere else.

We had such a great lunch! Everything was so good and the atmosphere so warm and welcoming. I highly recommend you to stop by and try some of Lili's recommendations. Thank you for this great moment !

We came at the in-between hour and it was empty, but the atmosphere is fun, colorful, and beautiful; just like the Brazilian culture! We started with the appetizer sampler and were not disappointed. Only complaint would be my wife's dislike of rosemary / fennel and it was featured in two of the sampler's offerings. Then we had the Sandwich De Frango and Sandwich De Picanha. Surprisingly, the Frango had better taste. There was something on the Picanha that took away from the meat, which also was slightly grisly and not as tender as expected. (Past experience being Brazilian BBQ where the Picanha melted in your mouth.) That being said, still a very good and tasty sandwich. The side salads were fresh, clean, and simple with a sweet vinegar based dressing that was absolutely delicious. The only let down on the service was that the lovely young woman was not Brazilian, otherwise, she was beautiful, amazing, and helpful. Lots of food, but prices were higher than expected.

The mood and ambiance were really nice with music, chill lighting and a quiet atmosphere. The food was delicious and very flavorful, and dessert was amazing! The lemonade was different than regular lemonade and something that was unexpected but delicious. The waitress was very kind, attentive, and understanding when we had questions. We will definitely go back and bring family.

Absolutely love this place and we need more of this kind of food (clean and healthy) in Chico! It’s a place with lots of options for those with food allergies and the environment is so homey and cozy. You feel like you walked into the set of Gilmore Girls or the cafe from Friday Night Lights. The owner is also absolutely wonderful and makes her food from the heart. Also highly highly recommend the juices! So refreshing, fresh-squeezed, and quality.

Excellent food, excellent service. I like when your server checks on you several times to make sure everything's right. And Julia did. I think this place that ten!

Had a wonderful dinner last night at Lili’s Brazilian Bistro. The chicken stroganoff was delicious and the flan was amazing. It’s a cozy atmosphere with very friendly staff. I’ll be definitely dining here again.

Great restaurant with great food and amazing vibe and design! We had a great time there, and enjoyed our food and their homemade drinks/juices! Their service was good and the lady who took our order and served our food was very nice and kind. We will go back to try their other dishes as it seems like most of their dishes are delicious. Their portions are good for one and each person should order their own dish. Check them out!

Lily was a great host. This was a great place to spend an evening with friends and we didn't feel rushed. There was some mellow live music that set a good mood. Order a brazallian soda and hang out awhile. The food was very refreshing.

Sushi restaurant
Aonami Sushi, located in Chico, is a popular sushi restaurant that offers classic Japanese and sushi menus. The ambiance is relaxed with exposed brick walls and a long sushi counter. What sets Aonami apart from other sushi places is its commitment to sustainability. It prides itself on being the 10th sustainable sushi restaurant in the country.
They have a whole vegan section of the menu and they are open later than a lot of other places that are similar. Love it <3

They have a ton of clearly marked vegan appetizers, mains, and sushi rolls. They also give you complimentary miso soup before your meal.We loved the vegan sushi rolls we ordered. I can't remember the names, but one was citrus and super refreshing, and the other was just fantastic all around. The atmosphere was also very cute. This is a great place to go if you are a vegan. We also got the veggie tempura, it was okay, but we've had way better. If we went back we'd skip it and get another roll instead!

Nice little place. Atmosphere is nice and semi-lively. Food was good. I could have used a little more flavor on the sauce, however, that is just my personal preference.

Authentic Japanese sushi in the heart of downtown Chico. Friendly staff, tasty dishes, lunch specials, Japanese beers and great variety of sakis. A favorite!

Overall, this is a good place to go for sushi! However, the devil is in the details... I love that Aonami is following covid safety, first off. It made the overall visit that much better. Second, the service was fantastic! Our waiter was kind, attentive, and well-intentioned at worst, as she kindly explained what yakisoba is to my Japanese mother 😅 The food, overall, was very good! With the exception of one roll, I didn't really need shoyu for anything because the fish was either that good or the complimentary sauces were delicious enough. Unfortunately, one roll was off, taste tested by both me and my mother. We have different palates, so something's definitely up if we're both making a face. However, the roll was taken back without question, and we were offered to have it replaced or refunded; thank you so much again for that! The only things I wasn't thrilled about were the shoyu and the overall vibe. They have the low sodium shoyu and regular shoyu as options, which is great! My mother and I prefer the green capped low sodium taste to regular Kikkoman. That said, I can guarantee someone either made a mistake or is intentionally cutting corners because the shoyu tasted exactly the same from both bottles. Additionally, the shoyu was not clean. Before we even had our food, there were particles (like dried, old shoyu... I hope) sticking to the sides of the dish. And, I know it sounds ridiculous, but while the staff are wonderful, it just feels like a place pretentious people go to have decent sushi. Yes, this sushi is good, but it's nothing to write home about. While the creative rolls can be fun and I appreciate that you can order a roll without an ingredient, everything feels very catered to a certain demographic. A lot of the rolls have cream cheese, jalepeño, mango, and/or masago in them with a ton of sauce and anything we got that was supposed to be spicy simply... Was not. Sometimes you just want a regular ol' spicy tuna roll, y'know? Again, overall, this is a good place and I'll still rec it to others. If you're even a bit of a sushi snob like me, try somewhere else. I, personally, will not be returning.

Bagel shop
Brooklyn Bridge Bagel Works is a hidden gem in Chico, perfect for those seeking a quick and delicious breakfast or snack. On my first visit, I indulged in an egg and spinach breakfast on a sourdough parm bagel, while my daughter enjoyed bacon and eggs on an everything bagel. The freshness of the bagels truly stands out! With a diverse selection of bagels and cream cheese options, there's something to satisfy every palate.
This place is great for a quick grab-and-go breakfast or even a snack! They have a wide variety of great bagels and different types of cream cheese it's sure to meet your foodie needs. I love their Chipotle Turkey Melt sandwich as well. I definitely recommend this amazing Chico restaurant.
Lyndsie L — Google review
In seeing responses here, I understand the owner cares, and it’s true that the bagels are authentic, it’s THE place to go for a bagel. I also understand, just like in owners responses, that the remodel was necessary, and I have no complaints there. service is “reasonable”, though it does leave one wanting some sort of *feeling* in speaking with workers, that tends to be overall provided mostly elsewhere, in this what we feel, is an awesome town. — We have a “small town feeling” here, and I’m sure the staff have lives outside of their work hours, but they do seem a little impersonal, and when we ask for help on a bagel that’s lacking, they WILL actually charge us for the SMALLEST ask. -No, it was a complaint, because it was so noticeable, in the experience. For example, I had to ask for more smear last time we were eating at location, and the register worker was going to CHARGE ME, when the point I was making was, I didn’t WANT to complain about the quality, but had to, in order to even be able to swallow the very dry bagel I was trying to eat. —I actually watched the worker spreading the smear, putting on a decent amount, only to proceed to CAREFULLY spread, it, OFF (!?) -This time, we ordered from home, because, again, they are THE place you go to for authenticity, and we have over 5 years going with them. Sadly, the difference in lack of cream cheese, it is NOTABLE. Sorry, but there’s no real reason to do this to hungry people that are devoted, and understand why prices are so high. That’s understood. Raise the prices because you have to, but making wonderful bagels absolutely dry, and still charging us as if you’re making them properly is wrong . Because the dude was paying very close attention to what he was doing, which was as I said, literally removing the cream cheese off of the sandwich, and is just outright not ok. The main issue is, I remember, like it was yesterday, what enough cream cheese smear on a 15 dollar snack sized breakfast bagel for 2, should be like, and you’re training your staff to intentionally withhold the quality and quantity, of what your people ARE paying you for, and that NOT cool.
Bink G — Google review
Another menu change with the new veggie breakfast sandwich being a terrible attempt at cost cutting, and I didn't even get the bagel I ordered nor did the guy write down the right name which I repeated my order, bagel, and name several times. Ultimately this has become a shell of it's former self and is just a soulless cash grab at this point. Go to Mondo's they still have a full sandwich for a decent price
Raven H — Google review
I hate to leave bad reviews but this place is disappointing. Ever since the remodel, the life has been sucked out of this place. It used to be a wonderful homage to Brooklyn, New York and baseball. The place felt personalized and cozy, perfect for this town. Now it has this minimalistic design with painted tile floors, of which are flaking off. The food quality has gone severely down, tasting like everything has been heated up in a microwave, having this soggy feel. The price has gone way up as well. A sesame bagel with light cream cheese, no toppings, was $6?????? I also added an orange juice and this took the total to $15? What? How is a bagel with no toppings and orange juice $15? I can't recommend that anyone spends their money here until something drastic changes, sorry.
Frances E — Google review
I used to absolutely love this place- food and atmosphere, but lately they completely changed. They took out all the decorations that made it unique and feel like a part of Chico, now it’s got a minimalist Instagram aesthetic that I absolutely hate. On top of that the food price has gone up and the quality as gone down. I paid 11 dollars for this bagel!!! 11 whole dollars!!!!! That’s highway robbery!! Just do yourself a favor and go to Bellachinos instead.
Jkcatsmeow — Google review
The Bagels are to dense, missing that bagel taste and texture. The cream cheese has some kind of creamer mixed into it and lacked that cream cheese flavor. As for the actual store, everything was dirty. As for the actual aesthetic, it was so dark in this shop it was depressing. In a nutshell this place left a lot of desire from a place that names It self after one of the bagels capitals of the world. Bold.
Joe L — Google review
As a customer of the previous Brookyln Bagels before the change in ownership, I am so gutted at what it's become. Please do not even bother going here- it's legitimately foul. Insanely overpriced, every component of the breakfast sandwich was microwaved, the bagel was soggy/chewy/stale, the cream cheese was cut with something- just all around gross. The inside looked like they were going for a minimalist clean vibe but it's incredibly dirty with chipped paint all over the floor and things hanging off the walls. "Fresh" pressed orange juice was anything but. It's a shame this place is allowed to have the same name, reputation and reviews as the former place because it is a stark contrast. I had been here 2 or 3 times since the ownership changed and kept trying to reason coming back because it's the one accessible bagel place- but this last visit I had was enough to convince me to never come again.
Olivia G — Google review
I don't see how they spend so much time to make these bagels and the rest of the sandwich is microwaved. I ordered the bacon breakfast sandwich and sausage breakfast sandwich. The eggs were the driest we've ever had we had to take it off it was gross. There was barely any bacon. They also forgot to mark which sandwich is which which is whatever but like come on doesn't take much to mark a sandwich. I should've just ordered a bagel with cream cheese because the bagels ARE amazing . But i spent like $24 on 2 breakfast sandwiches.

My office had a 12-person luncheon catered by Gogi's Cafe and we really enjoyed it. I asked everything to be labeled, and they kindly accommodated. There's something on the menu for everyone, from vegan to celiac and meat eaters too. All gave two thumbs up. Co-owner Vinay gave excellent service and took our order through email. We'll definitely consider them again for future office luncheons. Delicious and convenient. Thank you!

I did not eat here. At my work we have a group of about 10 trainees who stopped at the bus station near this place. We had a 15 minute break. Almost all of my co workers went in and used the bathroom. I thought it was pretty rude because no one ordered food. But the guy was super nice and didn’t say anything. The food smelled good. If I had more time I would have for sure bought some. Next time I’m around Chico I will for sure

Gogi’s cafe is a block or two away from Chico’s state university in downtown and offer variety of south Asian cuisine dishes from veg to non veg. You can have your entree with rice or with Naan. Prices are between $9 to $13 per entree. They also offer cool appetizers like Samosas, chaat, bhelpuri and garlic fries. We tried chicken tikka masala, paalak paneer, basil lamb and lamb masala. It’s a family oriented place with a decent dine area and sales is based on university business. Taste could be better but ok. Easy check in and order food at the counter. It’s very close to freeway so hop in if you are driving around chico or live in town.

Everything was excellent especially the Korma. With the limited summer menu, we ended ordering "A La- Carte (Lamb Korma)", and sauteed vegetables. They were able to accommodate a restrictive diet of no sugar or carbs. With no outside tables, we ended up going over to the campus and eating on the lawn with the doggo.

(This is from pver a yeat ago) We drove 1.5 hours to see if Chico had any vegan food. Gogi's Cafe was 100% worth the drive, and we will definitely be coming back. This was easily the best Indian food we've had in a very long time. The owners were so sweet and welcoming. It was a treat to chat with them as they were closing up. They have a great variety of vegan options, and they also have a buffet on Saturdays!

Park
Bidwell Park One-Mile is a popular community park in Chico, California, offering a variety of activities and attractions. Spanning 11 kilometers and covering 3,670 acres, the park features diverse landscapes including rare geological formations, dense forests, and the Municipal Golf Course Chico. Divided into Higher, Middle, and Lower sections, the park boasts points of interest such as Sycamore Pool - a picturesque swimming spot constructed in the late 1920s.
Bidwell Park runs through Chico, CA, about 6 miles East. Very beautiful and quiet place, walking, running, or riding a bike.

What a fantastic park! The highlight for me was definitely the beautiful stream flowing through Bidwell Park. The water was so clear and the surrounding greenery was lush – it's a really tranquil spot to unwind. The children's playground was also a big hit with my little ones. It's spacious, with a good mix of swings, slides, and climbing structures that catered to different age groups. While enjoying the park's beauty, I did unfortunately come across some litter. I took a few minutes to pick up some of the trash I saw. It's a shame to see such a lovely place not always treated with the respect it deserves. Despite that, Bidwell Park remains a wonderful asset to Chico and a great place to spend the day.

Bidwell Park is hands down one of my favorite places in Chico. It’s truly a gem—sprawling, peaceful, and full of hidden treasures. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to walk, a rugged trail to hike, or a shady spot to picnic, Bidwell has it all.

The water still isnt cleared for swimming the park is still a beautiful calming place to spend some time outdoors without a long commute. I recommend walking the bike trail until you get to the redwood grove. It's a short walk to see a shady spot that reminds be of the California coastal redwoods without having to drive a few hours to see them. You can also reserve the redwood grove for personal use and people have been known to get married in the grove. Highly recommend 👌

It was my first time going and unfortunately we didn't know the pool was opened and didn't get a chance to enjoy it. I love the place. The trails are long and the scenery gorgeous. Such a beautiful park with tons of shaded areas and space for the family. During the summer they have lifeguards. Sycamore Pool is a popular swimming spot located in the Lower Park section of Bidwell Park, Chico. It was created by cementing a portion of Big Chico Creek, ensuring a continuous flow of cold water. The pool features a small dam to maintain water levels even during low creek levels and is supervised by lifeguards during the summer months.

What a great concept for a very needed free public park for families to cool off and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings of shaded trees. We wanted to come check it out but were disappointed to see several caution signs revealing the fact that there has been confirmed dangerous levels of e-coli. Very sad to have such a gem in this city but ruined by whatever is causing this problem. We saw many still swimming, you would think if it was totally dangerous that they would have caution tape all around .

This is just incredible! Due to the pandemic this pool is great because it's very wide and you'd have plenty of space to social distance. We went on a very hot, humid day and the water wasn't too cold, it was just right. It was very cooling and enjoyable. There was lots of shade as well, very nice. Although the public bathrooms were horrendous, very old and shabby, no mirrors either, it looked like they haven't been cared for in my opinion. Besides that I wish I had know about this place the first time I visited California. It was very enjoyable and fun~!

Bidwell Mansion | State Historic Park is a stunning estate located in an Italianate Victorian mansion that was previously owned by John and Annie Bidwell. The park encompasses both the beautiful mansion and its surrounding grounds which are perfect for wandering around. Although the house museum itself is closed most days, visitors can check the schedule before visiting to ensure it's open. This fun-filled park is adjacent to a school and touring the mansion with a guide provides immense interest due to its historical background.
Lots of great California history inside! Mr. Bidwell played a big part in building California and the city of Chico. The mansion is full of lots of fun artifacts, and is very well kept I highly suggest taking a tour.

It was a great tour. The tour guides were nice and answered all the questions anyone had. But you want to know why it's temporarily closed. Because some stupid peace of garbage burnt it to the ground. My grandma lives in Chico. I'm visiting her right now. When I drove past it, everything except the bricks was gone. ALL OF IT!!!!

The establishment offers an elegant dining experience with a main dining room and a banquet room for private events. The menu features a diverse selection of upscale dishes, including prime steaks, fresh seafood, organic salads, handmade pasta, and delectable desserts. In addition to its high-quality cuisine, the restaurant boasts a full bar with an extensive wine list.
We had such a great time! Our server was excellent. Our food was delicious, as expected. My husband got a giant steak. The garlic mashed potatoes were fluffy and flavourful. The asparagus was perfectly steamed, cooked with a slight crunch. I got a deconstructed wellington, with a mushroom duxelle puff pastry! So divine! 🤩 like a piece of art on my plate! It was a great time. The Old Fashioned drink hit the spot and the real maraschino cherry was dark, rich, and sweet. We hadn’t been here in over ten years but we finally found a way. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Summary: The only thing saving this place is the steak and the dessert. Otherwise I wouldn’t consider going again. The shaken cocktails are watered down, but the stirred cocktails pretty good. The water they serve is disgusting. See if they maybe have other water you can pay extra for. Load up on the steak and mashed potatoes. Save room for the dessert. More details: First thing I noticed is the water they give you is some pretty bad tap water, wasn’t the worst but it was noticeable especially for the price point of the restaurant I’ve never had water this bad in Chico. I didn’t ask but it would be a good idea to see if they have other water available. Water 5/10 The bread they serve you is amazing I think one is a sour dough and the other is I think a dark honey wheat. It tastes very similar to Outback Steakhouse bread. 10/10 We ordered the side car and the barrel aged selection and espresso martinis the shaken cocktails were very watered down which could be due to smaller ice cubes used to shake the cocktails because I noticed a lot of small ice chunks in those still I’ve had worse my girlfriend wanted to send the sidecar back but I just gave her my cocktail as it didn’t taste bad enough that I was willing to sent the cocktail back. The barrel aged selection cocktail as a stirred cocktail was perfect. The glasses they use for all their cocktails are very excessively sized and the martini glasses are super thick and don’t sit in the hands very comfortably also they’re not the kind of upper endglass ware one would expect for the price point. Cocktails Shaken: 5/10 Cocktails stirred: 8/10 Glassware 5/10 Prawns were alright and the sauce was alright but the plating was pretty funny just seems weird to plate prawns on a bed of lettuce. Wasn’t very visually pleasing and seems kinda wasteful as it doesn’t feel like you are supposed to eat the lettuce, at the same time if a person wanted lettuce they would order a salad. Prawns: 6/10 10 ounce dry aged ribeye rare was some of the best I’ve had. I think a lot of steak houses get rare steak wrong but the crust was spectacular while the inside was perfect and the steak just melts in your mouth and the seasoning and butter is spectacular. The mashed potatoes were amazing. Also comes with a baked head of garlic which paired everything together so well. 10/10 Scallops were amazing, great sear on them and really nice texture. The spinach with garlic was nice but the scalloped sweet potatoes weren’t anything to rave over. My girlfriend found them too sweet and not seasoned very well. 7/10 The dessert trio we ordered with the crème brûlée, banana cheesecake, and the cookie brownie was pretty good. Not a lot of resturaunts do good desserts and I would but a whole cheesecake if they sold it and take it home. The crème brûlée was good the cookie brownie was meh. Cheesecake 10/10 Crème brûlée 9/10 Brownie cookie 8/10 Location is perfect, quiet, comfortable, servers are really nice we ate outside and the lighting is comfortable and they have warmers outside. There’s no lobby so while you wait for your table you are trying not to be in the way of the people sitting in the front. Bathrooms, super tiny, not well placed and not very nice but it’s an old building and not the worst steakhouse bathroom I’ve seen plus expansion would take a lot from their relativly limited seating.

We came here for our anniversary for happy hour, it's truly a great value for a quick bite and a few drinks. We had the calamari, the sliders, and onion rings. The sliders and the onion rings were so good, we really enjoyed those. The bartenders/ servers were really attentive and great all around. The only downside I'd say is that the tables are a little small on the bar side, which is where you sit for happy hour, it makes it hard to get more than a couple things as you can see in the photo. But otherwise, it's not that big of a deal, it's easy to navigate. We started with the old fashioned and had a couple strawberry lemon drops to end our early dinner. As I mentioned, it truly was a great value for the entire thing we only spent around $100 for two people. I highly recommend the happy hour here, you should definitely try it. But keep in mind, it is a smaller bar area, so if you're coming in a big group it might not work out too well but I'm sure the nice servers can help figure it out. I've also been here in the past for work events which they have private rooms for if you're interested for the bigger groups, etc. I had the surf and turf, it was amazing, super flavorful and the veggies were perfect. I don't recall what the other plate was called now but it was also very good, the mashed potatoes were great. We will definitely back for the regular dinner menu in the future.

We loved the experience here. We came with our two young children and sat outside. The service was excellent and the food amazing! It's definitely a splurge, but worth it. They even gave us a Happy Anniversary dessert with a card!

Great food and service. Great wine list. Atmosphere is decent. Enjoyed a NY strip, but the cauliflower side is what I’d return for. Make a reservation.

Pub
The Allies Pub is a charming British-style establishment that captures the essence of traditional pubs found in England. With its inviting atmosphere, adorned with delightful artwork featuring English bulldogs, it’s an ideal spot to unwind with friends. The menu includes some vegan options like the Hodge Podge—a mini charcuterie plate filled with fresh and dried fruits, falafel, hummus, olives, pickles, crackers, and a refreshing side salad drizzled with vegan lemon dressing.
Best food and atmosphere in Chico. The flaky crust of the hand pies and shepherds pie are other worldly, fresh and piping hot. You will not be disappointed. Great ales! Beautiful atmosphere. Don't miss this gem.

Awesome pub with great food! Had the Rancher Pastry Topped Pie and a flight of their cold beer. Pie was flaky and the filling was delicious. Beer was great too! Definitely worth going back again!

I attended a business meeting here with the owner, Stephen. This pup is just like the ones we have visited in cities in England and definitely gives that vibe. The artwork of the English bulldogs on the wall makes this place super friendly and one you would want to come and hang out with friends. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the owner is very kind and loves serving his guests. Would highly recommend the next time you’re in downtown Chico.

The pasties are AMAZING. The crust/pastry is absolutely divine. The chicken curry filling was delicious. I tried the beef one my boyfriend ordered and that was also very good. Can't wait to come back and try more items. (I never thought I'd feel that way about British food, lol.) The patio is stunning, though it's currently too hot outside for me to take advantage of it. The lady at the bar/register was very friendly and helpful. I'm not a beer fan, so I can't comment on that, but the hard pomegranate-apple cider I had was good.
Socius — Google review
The atmosphere and decor here are amazing! Staff is helpful and attentive. Pub style so you must order drinks and food yourself, no waiters. Menu items are true and authentic. Classics like pot pies and meaty hearty foods are available. Great selection of beer and also offer wine and bubbly. The owners are kind and love what they do. The whole experience was relaxing sitting in the beautiful patio. Definitely coming back. Parking isn't too bad but it is hidden behind the b of a. Bathrooms are clean and updated. Kid friendly depending on the hour.

Very unique British style pub. They had a band playing outside when I went and really good beer I've never seen anywhere else. The food is also unique, I had dinner kind of pulled pork in a croissant or something, it was good. I'd say the biggest draw is the environment and it just being a British style pub. It was busy when I went and they only had one server so there was a huge line. So when you order your drinks get a bunch

One of my favorite places in Chico. Allies Pub is always a good time, whether dining inside (cozy interior, fireplace, beautiful ceiling) or outside (large patio under a tree with string lights and heaters). Staff are friendly and take pride in their business. We love to try the rotating beer taps. Pretzel with beer cheese appetizer is delish. Also highly recommend the pasties and shepherds pie. Dog friendly patio!

Wow! Everything we ate was amazingly delicious- the black bean chili with corn bread muffin, southwest quiche, deviled eggs, pecan roll, carrot cake, and a chai. It was all 5 star. We’ll be back every time we’re in town.
Sacha O — Google review
This is one of our favorite places in town. I took away one star since everything there is too sweet. The drinks are too sweet (vanilla frost), the apple caramel is too sweet (over powering), even the coconut macaron. Someone needs to dial things down a bit. The atmosphere is great. Customer service is great. The place is clean and quiet. We were a party of 4. Plenty of food options. Next time we will stick with sandwiches and juices / less sweet drinks. Deserts here need to be fixed.

Beautiful location with ample seating. The service was a bit slow due to the big rush, however the staff were very kind. I unfortunately did not enjoy their veggie sandwich and potato soup. I will try something different next time. Their sweets are delicious but they can be a bit too sweet at times. I enjoy their sugar cookies, especially when they’re seasonal!
Komal A — Google review
We order a couple of the breakfast quesadillas & an egg breakfast sandwich on ciabatta. The food was excellent the drinks were lukewarm at best. Even though we had a number and were told someone would bring us our food, they didn't bring our drinks and they sat on the counter for over 5 minutes until a customer came out and asked if anyone in the patio was named Bill because they have been calling my name. There were a lot of dirty tables and the only people bussing was the new customers who wanted a dirty table. We'll be back and I'll update the review if this was a quirky visit that is not typical.

One lemon bar isn’t enough in my household… we needed FIVE the next time we visited! Featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and for a great reason. Everything they had to offer here looked simply delicious, I only wish I could try it all! Chinese restaurant
Kwando Buffet offers a lunch buffet at a reasonable price, excluding drinks. The food quality is above average, with the hibachi grill being a standout feature where you can create your own plate. There's a wide selection of dishes including squid, octopus, and shrimp. Some customers have suggested that the first plate should be allowed to be taken home for free. The buffet is known for its fresh and homemade food that is always served hot.
Went here with someone who's been going to kwando's for a really long time for lunch. The food was good..good variety. They had a salad bar, a variety of fresh fruit. They have an area you load up what fresh ingredients you want and then they will cook it for you which I thought was awesome. The dinner price is just a few dollars more and on Saturday and Sunday I think it's a dollar more than the weekday price. I think with drinks for 2 people for lunch around $30 , which I think is pretty good considering fast food is now around the same price and this is all you can eat. Really happy that my friend took me to Kwando's For the price you cant beat it and I will definitely be back The person that helped with our table she was so nice. I forgot to take a picture before I started diving in 😋😋😋

When it comes to buffet, I try as many items as I can. I have no complaints about anything. The taro buns have an acquired taste that I personally liked, coconut shrimp was yummy. The fried shrimp well that was the best! So much flavor and crispy.. I over indulged on those. Staff, they could have shared a few more smiles lol

It was my granddaughters birthday and she always chooses a place to eat. Well today she wanted to try Kwandos. We had never been there before. The interior is very welcoming. The staff were very friendly and seated us right away. The food was good and prices were very affordable. At the end of k ch she tried each and every dessert that was available. I would definitely go there again. Kids lunch was $9.99 and me as an adult was $15.99.
Nadine C — Google review
Ate here on 09/28 and had the worst case of food poisoning one could get. Food tasted weird, as if all meats that were cooked were cooked on the same grill. Pork ribs were far from done, tough as leather. Broccoli beef - beef tasted very strange. I cannot recommend this place at all. If you do eat here, buyer beware.
Jamie A — Google review
This was my first time here. The food was absolutely delicious, except for maybe the crawfish. I was pleasantly surprised at the sushi, being as fresh as it was and just as delicious. It was comparable to the other sushi place I go to in Chico, Ojiya's. Also the mini hibachi grill is great, I had some tri-tip and it was cooked very well. The only thing I would say is lacking is the dessert area, not having many options and the staff, though friendly, just keep to themselves and avoid interaction other than doing their job. Which is fine cause that place is packed full alot of the time.
Drex G — Google review
This used to be a decent buffet. I especially liked the raw bar that they cooked for you. Until yesterday. The worst cut of beef I've ever had anywhere in the 🇺🇸. It said tri tip which I really dont believe. It was more like cow hide. Or shoe leather. So tuff my wife couldn't eat it. Definitely not worth 48 bucs. Not even worth 4 bucs. Yuk. Never again will we eat here. We'll make sure we tell everyone to avoid as well. Its time for all restaurants to up the quality or lose customers. Goodbye kwandry....lol
Scott — Google review
This place is really affordable for the quality of food and of course the all you can eat buffet. Mostly seafood and Asian foods to choose from but there are other options for the more picky eater. They do have a fresh green salad bar as well. Lots of dessert options to choose from!
Romeo V — Google review
Kwando Buffet wins hands down compared to a higher rated buffet yet gets less stars. Why wins? A few good reasons: seafood is readily available, and many dishes very tasty. Meats are not frozen and basically taste as they should. Selection is plentiful for the price. Kwando also serves Chinese selections, I was mildly surprised as to how agreeable was their Hot and Sour Soup, one of three varieties. The Hibachi section surprised me with their selection, specially fresh eggs? Yummy indeed! Desserts variety an added plus but perhaps plain offerings, including the serve yourself soft ice cream, whether the real variety or not, will find plenty of takers. Place clean, efficient staff continuously on the job. Water lacking, stick to drinks, which may be extra? If included, how can any crowd go wrong. I even enjoy fresh octopus grilled to perfection, and fresh mussels. Tasty! Sushi, which we did not partake, constantly being made. Quite an array of options, that’s for sure. At least 4 Stars 🌟! Returned 7 days after my first visit, compulsive behavior? Perhaps. The sad thing about it is that this second time, food no longer seemed as well prepared as the first time. Still the place is very busy as is not a place that lacks servings of food. This place is for the voracious appetites that keep going back and forth, not for the gourmet insistent. Food a plenty! I just thought this second visit would be as good as perceived was the first time. My enthusiasm was diminished but quantities remain the same. 3 Stars. Word to the wise. Big difference between lunch and dinner, yet price is the same. Case in point: wanted to find Duck 🦆 as it is a rare place that offers it. Turns out is only served on the weekends, and particularly at dinner time. Today the lunch was considerably less appealing, of what I’m sure the dinner will be, but seems like Saturday and Sunday are the big winners in the end. At best 3 Stars.

Dogs off the leash in undesignated areas of the park ALL the time. Dog crap is everywhere because of it.I wouldn't care as much if I didn't have a two year old child. It's definitely never enforced because it happens every time I go. That and a woman was flashed by a man with no clothes from the waste down by his new grey truck. Early 20's, beard, black hat. The authorities were notified and the lady made a report.

I live out in the country so it's hard to socialize my dog. He is a giant 105lb American Bulldog, which is a breed that requires a good amount of socializing. Degarmo Dog Park is the only dog park close by, and I've never had an issue. In my experience, the moment that any dog starts acting aggressively, the owners are quick to respond and remove the dog. All of the dog owners are always so friendly, and I find myself striking up conversations frequently. The only reason that I don't give it 5 stars is because of the lack of grass, the location during certain times of day, and the fact that there is no separation of dog size or age. It is mostly dirt, which gets hot in the sun. It's next to an elementary school so I highly advise being aware of when school gets out or you will be stuck in number to bumper traffic. The park allows all dog sizes and ages in, which is great... But some dog parks have a two separate parks, one for small dogs and elderly, and one for bigger dogs or puppies. I've seen some aggressive things happen simply because of 4 month old large breed pup tried to play with an elderly lab with arthritis. This is why I give 4 stars instead of 5.

Thank you to all of those who gave us a tour, greeted us and gave us more information of the area.

This local air museum is a solid place to visit and a delight. The indoor spaces are the star with very well designed rooms devoted to the history of the Chico airfield, aviation art, aviation models, airmen gear and other features. The outdoor exhibits are nearby and and have labels for each aircraft in the exhibit. The indoor hanger, when I visited also had the doors open facing the airfield with chairs set up for watching the activities on the field including the CalFire airbase right next door and on my visit a firefighting helicopter contractor was staging right in front of the museum.

A great historic aviation experience! A must see if ever in the Chico area. The staff were friendly and fun to share their aviation knowledge! Thanks to both Mark's and Jack! I'm looking forward to a return visit.

Chico Air museum is an awesome excursion for anyone enthusiastic about aircraft, Chico, or learning something interesting and new! The docents are friendly and willing to answer any question you may have or just crack a joke! They host a Variety of unique historic aircraft that I was surprised to see in a such a small museum!

Naturally, I felt compelled to provide feedback following my visit to Fresh Twisted Café. Not only was I delighted by the complimentary vegan pastry gifted to me, but the overall experience warrants a positive review. Opting for a vegan culinary journey, I savored two delectable plant-based bowls and a vegetarian burrito modified to align with my dietary preferences by omitting eggs and dairy. The staff member assisting me exhibited impressive knowledge regarding vegan options and proved instrumental in ensuring my satisfaction.
Their vegan, gluten free cupcakes are delicious! There are many vegan savory options too. Staff is very knowledgeable about the food ingredients.

The smallest portion sandwich I have ever experienced in the USA. $16.50 and had two paper thin slices of meat. You have to look closely at the pic to even see the meat. The bread was tiny and a whole sando about the size of a half sandwich in most places. This sandwich was the biggest rip off. I will make sure no one I know ever eats lunch there. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else in Chico for a sandwich lunch.
Barry B — Google review
Food was good. I ordered the monster burrito. It was great with fresh ingredients, but overloaded with ham and virtually nothing else. I also got a mango smoothie that was delicious. I’d go back, but skip the burrito
Gannon R — Google review
Have gone to this place for years. Tonight I tried to order dinner for my family of 5 a half hour before closing and I was told they us they close their grill and hour before closing. So no burgers. Ok I tried to order a wrap with grilled chicken and no they said only cold food items. I tired to order their soup, they don't make that anymore. It's dinner, not lunch time my family would like something warm to eat. It's ok this way you can go home at 6 pm, we'll just eat somewhere else.
Julie T — Google review
Their sandwiches are yummy! The artwork on the wall are nice to look at when waiting for the food. We got the strawberry banana smoothie and it was great. They did make a few mistakes with the sandwiches, my sister wanted hers grilled and they forgot, and they also forgot to put in the avocado in my sandwich. The lady put a refund for us for the missing avocado since it costed extra. I give this place 4 stars because it was a bit pricey for what you get. I liked that they have kid toys attached to the wall for kids to interact with. My lil nephew loved it.

Service was slow but very friendly. Very odd hours make it pretty impossible up eat here but it's even worse when their hours posted online are incorrect. It doesn't seem worth trying to figure out when I'll have time to return and try to see if there was anything better than their Cesar wrap. It was fine.

Pretty good. Love the fresh juices. I wish they had a better rewards program otherwise I would give a 5 star
RoRo B — Google review
I really love the salads with all of the different toppings, the issue I have is the last 3 times I paid extra for avocado to be added and I didnt get it. They used to have good service but I won’t be back anymore. They also have a rewards program but are not very helpful in getting your points in there system. *update* I came back and guess what they screwed up my order again. Really sad.

Fast food restaurant

From September 18 to September 22, customers at participating locations can add a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger to their order for just one cent more when using the Wendy's app or website. Customers have praised the friendly and efficient service at various Wendy's locations, with many recommending it for its great food and low cost.
I love to see Molly at the window. She has been there for 24 years and it's so friendly and knowledgeable. I find Wendy's to be a little faster and a little tastier than other fast food they are in my top three and this is a great location. Although I don't care for eating inside
Jesse R — Google review
The gentleman in the drive thru was focused, polite, and fast. An alternative bread was given on a Honey Buddy Chicken Sandwich. But I think we are on to something there. I loved it. Thank you staff at Wendy's for making my first breakfast experience at your location a wonderful one.

NEVER go during the night shift, unless you want workers who forget your items and give less than a sliver of a care whether your food spilled all over inside the bag. Male worker didnt say anything at all, just said nothing and handed the bag over and it was a mess inside. So rude.
P Z — Google review
Food is alright order was taken quick better than other fast food options if you’re not in the mood to drive to the other side of town for In-N-Out
Jovahny M — Google review
Customer service was 5 stars just saying, the people were awesome. The food was nasty as heck though. My salad was half wilted, they added parts of the tomatoes you arnt supposed to serve and the chili was the nastiest thing ever. I thought the chili was gonna save my meal man, boy was I wrong. It instantly made me want the throw up.
Amanda V — Google review
The soda didn’t taste good at all. Mostly just carbonated crap. The fries were old, over salted and cold. That’s disgusting! And the service was lack luster. Idk why so many people think Wendy’s is better than carls junior and Burger King they must not have taste buds.
Kaamso — Google review
The staff are youngsters who don't know anything and can't Multi task to save a life. The food is always burnt because they are behind orders and never put the right sauce in the bag. Wouldn't recommend going to this wendys. And also overpriced 15 bucks for chicken nugget meal and an extra fry.
Manning32 M — Google review
Went here with my daughter and ordered a meal for her and a couple of baked potatos for myself. I had to repeat myself when it came time to order my baked potato and when I ordered a second one as well. I didn't think I had to and I mentioned it to the cashier, and I mentioned to her that yes, we just went over that. My next experience was better with the manager.

Mexican restaurant
Sol Mexican Grill is a relaxed eatery with a warm ambiance that offers a variety of delectable Mexican dishes, such as tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. They also serve beer and margaritas to complement your meal. This family-friendly establishment has received praise for its exceptional service under the new ownership of Norma. The place boasts cleanliness, efficiency, and friendly staff. A standout on their menu are the lightly fried chips served with flavorful salsa that patrons rave about.
The service at this Mexican spot is second to none—our waiter was friendly and gave us excellent suggestions, including the enchiladas with mole sauce, which were rich and full of depth. The food was fresh and perfectly balanced with bold flavors. The ambiance was cozy yet energetic, with colorful decorations and traditional music that set a festive mood. It felt like a true cultural experience, making it a perfect place for a fun dinner with family or friends. Highly recommend!
Galahad A — Google review
Atmosphere has always been noisy and impersonal so we generally get food to go. Used to really like the burrito bowls but quality has really slipped lately. This time, they forgot to add chicken to a chicken burrito bowl. I think today was my last visit. On the hunt for more authentic Mexican food!
Randall K — Google review
Fish taco + Coconut margarita is the best lunch you can get in Chico! I love sol!
Morgan W — Google review
The food was below average it’s not even authentic Mexican food at all. I got a steak and shrimp burrito multiple times and they barely put any shrimp in it mostly rice. The steak also sucked and it’s so overpriced.
Marquez E — Google review
Delicious food, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. The price for the food is pretty decent for the amount of food you get. The staff are always pretty friendly as well. I typically alternate what I get here, as I normally get one of two things. I will either get 2 carne asada street tacos with mild sauce and a side small green salad with cilantro ranch dressing, or I will get a regular burrito with carne asade, black beans, and mild sauce. Both are so good, and I am never unhappy with my food. My favorite is the tacos and salad, but sometimes I like to have a meal for the next day, so I only eat a third or half of the burrito, and it can last me an additional meal or two. I used to be able to upgrade my burrito to have sour cream and guacamole, but since Sol had to raise their prices, it was not as cost effective for me to do this. Before, with my burrito upgrade, I would be able to pay the same amount as I would the tacos and the salad. It's still good, and if I only eat a third to make it more cost effective, I get the upgrade, but I mostly do without it now, which is disappointing. The chips and salsa is really good as well, and I have never had better salsa from a restaurant. As for the mild sauce I mentioned earlier, I prefer getting that over the hotter sauce, despite my love of spicy things, because the flavor was so much better on the mild sauce. I don’t know why, but I am not a fan of the hot sauce/salsa they serve on the food. Overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants, and I recommend it to everyone!

Such an awesome place to enjoy a great meal with your family. We were greeted immediately and were taken care of exceptionally! Norma (the new owner) has really hit it out of the park with the cleanliness, organization and staff since taking over! The new lightly fried chips and salsa are to die for! SOL has always been our go to spot after Flag Football games back in the day and it’s even better now!
Bailey C — Google review
How am I just learning about this place? Fresh surprisingly fast food in a really cute venue. Friendly staff, decent prices, can’t wait to return!
Shelly O — Google review
The first time we tried Sol it was not a good experience (all the burritos we ordered were bland and the Bloody Mary was way way too spicy) but we wanted to give it another try. I'm happy we did! This time I ordered the taco salad with shredded pork and it was delicious! The wait for the food was about 20-25 minutes and it was close to closing but we didn't feel rushed out the door. We had margaritas, which were ok. I'll definitely be back for the taco salad and friendly customer service! We got our food last night. The photo attached is of my leftovers today and it's still just as delicious!

Hamburger restaurant
Burger Hut is a local chain of burger joints known for its made-to-order charbroiled patties and self-serve toppings. They offer a variety of options, including hot dogs, fries, shakes, and even a vegan Beyond Burger with vegan cheddar cheese. The menu is expansive, featuring different sides like onion rings and tanglers, as well as specials and customizable burger options.
My best friend and I ate lunch there. We had a great time. The cashier joked with us. We had a good laugh. She made me do a dance for the bathroom key. 😂 There is a nice patio to eat on. You can bring your dog onto the patio. Didn't have to wait long for the food. Plenty of seating.
Michael R — Google review
One star for the milkshakes, one for the fries. the burgers were both undercooked and RAW even though we specified well done. We did buy three shakes, and the flavors were there for rhe most part (peppermint was a little underwhelming but delicious none the less). The shakes are definitely the best part. The staff were very friendly as well and gave us a refund for the one raw burger (the other was simply not done enough by opinion). Sorry i did not get a picture of the raw burger because we gave it back to the worker.

I went to visit my son, and he suggested that we eat here. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. They're family and pet friendly. They have indoor and patio dining. As for the food, it's a burger joint, and that's not a bad thing. The food was good, and so was the service/ self-service. It was a bit pricey for a burger, but I will be back again on the next visit.
Robert A — Google review
I came in to get a burger for lunch on 2/27/25. It was pretty busy and there were a fair few people in line, the staff were all running around doing stuff but there was a blond older looking manager lady in a collared shirt behind the counter who didn’t seems to be doing much yet rather than taking any of our orders just said that “someone else would be with us” the people ahead of me inline just left and walked out. I have always had good experiences with the staff at Burger hut but the managers need improvement very dissatisfied. The burgers are delicious! I love when they taste like salt.
Robert N — Google review
I used to come here all the time as a kid with my family and friends and have only come in maybe twice in the last 10 years. The burgers are nowhere near as big as I remember they used to be – the patties are quite thin so get a double if you want something very filling or to have leftovers besides just fries, although the burger toppings bar is interesting enough that you could easily make yourself a little salad without even touching the salad bar itself. The fries are decent and come out quite hot and nicely crispy. The ranch is gross – thin, yellow Heinz ranch in a push pump dispenser. I'd probably come here more often if they made their own in-house. The customer service was friendly though a little forgetful but nothing was forgotten altogether, just a couple details that they asked me to remind them about, so no biggie at all. Their shakes are good, with a pretty broad array of options, and they still do malts which is kinda rare these days. The place was fairly clean, but maybe not deeply so – the women's bathroom TP dispenser for example really needs a detailing cuz it has some kind of residue in the cracks that sorta makes me think it's dried pee. Given that this is a very family-friendly restaurant I wouldn't be surprised if it is, but it looks quite gross. Maybe it's glue? I dunno. Also I got a summer burger deal with the fries and the malt but wanted a different cheese and wasn't told that the cheese substitution would cost extra. It wasn't much, but I'd prefer to find out verbally rather than from the register screen. Even with the deal though, I'm not quite sure how the total ended up being over $22 based on the prices on the summer deals sign even with tax, so that was a little weird. Lastly, they're still stuck on binary bathrooms. I doubt they'll change that anytime soon, but how hard would it be to make both bathrooms gender-neutral? They're single toilet rooms anyway, so what's the big deal?
Linen C — Google review
Used to be delicious but for me it has gone down hill. Everytime I've ordered a burger lately it has been under cooked and the flavor is just not there. What happened to the love?
John W — Google review
If you live in Chico and haven't tried the Gilroy garlic burger, what are you even doing?...top 3 milkshake place in Chico too....not gonna get a bad meal here
