If you're lucky (ask nicely), they'll help you set up your kid's yo-yo string. The classes on Saturday are free and are such a great part of living in Chico. I love this place.

They had a lot of yoyo selections and was very knowledgeable ended up spending more than I wanted to because they have great stuff there we will be back

We saw this museum on the attractions to see in my Google app, and it did not disappoint. We met Bob, he was very helpful and knowledgeable about Yo-yos, come to find out, he was the owner of the store and museum. We also found out he is the founder of the National Yo-Yo Competition and holds training classes on Yo-Yo tricks for beginners. This is a great way to spend some time learning about a favorite pastime, and an added bonus is seeing the world's Biggest Working Wooden Yo-Yo.

Visited September 26th to the museum. Its located in Chico California. Its in the back of the shop called "Bird in Hand" toy shop. The yo you museum is impressive with some really special memorabilia! Love the largest yo yo on display! What I didn't like is the store is taking up their memorabilia and making it crowded for the their own storage. I love all the yo yos! Be a kid again!

Definitely check this place out if you like Yo-Yos! If Bob is there he will educate you on the Yo-Yo.

An amazing collection that will take you down memory lane! The yo-yo museum is a great place to learn about the history of the yo-yo. Every Saturday the staff holds a yo-yo education class where they will teach you tricks. The museum also has A trophy case that honors some of the best mastery yo-yo competitors. It’s really fun to learn about the advancement of yo-yos overtime. The owner and his staff are very knowledgeable and more than willing to have long conversations about yo-yos with you. The museum is also conveniently located in a pretty amazing toy store. I highly recommend stopping in!

Tiny altar to the humble yoyo, embedded & almost seemingly forgotten in the back of a huge old-timey toy store, Bird in Hand, with an impressive collection showing off the evolution of the toy—including the gigantic 256-lbs wooden monster that was twirled off a construction crane! I especially appreciate the focus on the Filipino roots of the phenomenon & the name. Pinoy representation!

Love the Saturday morning market. Fresh fruits and veggies from local frams. Local artisans and musicians. Also lots of various food ready to eat. Baked goods from Sweet Cottage are the best. Sweet Cottage line is always long. If you get Robin’s number you can order whole pies and quiches ahead of time. The pie pan has a five dollar deposit.

This Farmers Market is a pretty good size. Lots of Fresh fruits, vegetables, and even some gorgeous floral booths. I stumbled across a lady that did frozen prepared Sicilian food as well....if I didn't have an hours drive I would have bought some. It's worth the trip out.

Love this small yet everything you need farmers market. Where else can you taste Sierra Nevada, get some delicious sea food then stumble over to some Indian food. Tons of plants and other household goods not just food. I highly suggest the olives from Adams ranch specifically the habanero stuffed one's make a tasty martini.

Very adorable, interesting, and robust farmers market. Much larger and better layout that the one in Fresno that I’m used to. All the basics (and plenty to choose from) covered-cheese, honey, produce, fresh and cured meats, multiple coffee and tea vendors and much more! They had a few people performing acoustic music as well. Very charming! A must visit on a Chico weekend. Great location in Downtown too, lots to see and do nearby.

It was a great tour. The tour guides were nice and answered all the questions anyone had. But you want to know why it's temporarily closed. Because some stupid peace of garbage burnt it to the ground. My grandma lives in Chico. I'm visiting her right now. When I drove past it, everything except the bricks was gone. ALL OF IT!!!!

Beautiful plantation style mansion right next to California State University Chico! Three guided tours a day, $6.00 per person! Due to a other commitment that we did not have the opportunity to visit, but hopefully there will be other opportunities to visit again!

I loved going to this mansion as a child. Though very saddened that it burned, it was very interesting to see it as it is now. More history lost.

Much better than I expected. Also, make sure you make reservations in advance! They were booked up when we went, but Murphy was kind enough to squeeze us in anyway. Murphy was fantastic! So much knowledge, and personal experience growing up here and watching the renovations progress. I can't think of anywhere else that you can get that much for $6!

Such a cool historic house! Tour guide was knowledgable and very friendly! My favorite part had to be the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. They all have tiny sinks! Beautiful & educational way to spend a saturday in Chico!

Beautiful mansion and park! I'm sure touring the house with a guide must be very interesting, it was closed at the time of our visit on a Sunday afternoon. We very much enjoyed wandering around the grounds.

Closed for construction, but has information plaques outside and tons of parking, lots of shade and trees to just enjoy the area. Wouldn’t mind going back to see the inside.

A plus for the city of Chico- huge park with easy access from town. Plenty of parking and accessible, multi use trails.

It's nice to hit the trails earlier in the day, especially when it's hotter outside. There are plenty of places to cool off in the creek, if you explore the lower trails. Bring your dog, if you have one.

A truly amzing ecosystem, should be a national park. Etheral rock structures, caves, it is very amazing. The trails are well managed, there is many animals and birds, and it is all beatiful.

Hiked the Yahi Trail. Beautiful fall colors and temperatures are perfect this time of year. Kid friendly adventuresome hike for 8 year old. The trail is mostly flat and runs along the creek. Lots of places to meditate or have a picnic. We went back on the road which was not too bad given we saw only five cars. Beautiful park great for hiking and summer swimming.

There are clear paths with different difficulties. Ample space to roam with your canine friend; they are supposed to be on leash though most aren't: beware. With California rain being up and out there is plenty of greenery and places to take pictures if hiking isn't really your thing. As mentioned before there has been a lot of rain recently so the river is currently strong- watch out for your puppers and children. As far as I saw, there wasn't anyone enforcing any of the rules. If it a popular place so the parking may be a little difficult.

This is one of the best parks ever, dogs allowed, on left side of road theyre allowed off leash. See all of California's seasons vividly. 2nd largedt city park in USA. Update: still amazing as always. Right now has a super bloom from all the recent rain that wont last long!(april 2023)

We all really enjoyed this great place. We appreciated the friendly people who work there and that provided us with personal tour assistance. Would happily go again.

Very family friendly and informative. Mark made such a memorable moment for our son. The stories and information he told us was very thorough. There is so much to see that your eyes will keep on moving and you'll learn random information that you might not have known. Thank you to all of those who gave us a tour, greeted us and gave us more information of the area.

This local air museum is a solid place to visit and a delight. The indoor spaces are the star with very well designed rooms devoted to the history of the Chico airfield, aviation art, aviation models, airmen gear and other features. The outdoor exhibits are nearby and and have labels for each aircraft in the exhibit. The indoor hanger, when I visited also had the doors open facing the airfield with chairs set up for watching the activities on the field including the CalFire airbase right next door and on my visit a firefighting helicopter contractor was staging right in front of the museum.

A great historic aviation experience! A must see if ever in the Chico area. The staff were friendly and fun to share their aviation knowledge! Thanks to both Mark's and Jack! I'm looking forward to a return visit.

Chico Air museum is an awesome excursion for anyone enthusiastic about aircraft, Chico, or learning something interesting and new! The docents are friendly and willing to answer any question you may have or just crack a joke! They host a Variety of unique historic aircraft that I was surprised to see in a such a small museum!

Visiting grandson's who lived in Oroville looking for something to do found gateway science museum boys had fun exploring small museum lot's to learn and explore

Wonderful place to visit for children and adults. I love the rotating exhibits. Friendly staff and room attendants. I would love to see more outside when the weather improves. I come in about 3 times a year with my nieces and nephews. I also have my daughter's birthday party here.

Not open at the time stopped by. A few volunteers worked hard on mural and seemed like a great place to visit. It is next to Bidwell Mansion | State Historic Park.

What a great little learning experience. Lots of fossils and flora and fauna.

Dogs off the leash in undesignated areas of the park ALL the time. Dog crap is everywhere because of it.I wouldn't care as much if I didn't have a two year old child. It's definitely never enforced because it happens every time I go. That and a woman was flashed by a man with no clothes from the waste down by his new grey truck. Early 20's, beard, black hat. The authorities were notified and the lady made a report.

Really love it quite the ambience, only if people would keep their unleashed pets in the designated area. However this is the best park in chico, personal overall assessment.

This park is awesome. There's a lot to do. Even when theres a lot of people there, we've never had a problem with the fellow park goers. Welcoming to children of a wide range of ages.

Fun place for leagues of soccer players. Good playground for the little ones. Facility kept clean and trimmed.

I live out in the country so it's hard to socialize my dog. He is a giant 105lb American Bulldog, which is a breed that requires a good amount of socializing. Degarmo Dog Park is the only dog park close by, and I've never had an issue. In my experience, the moment that any dog starts acting aggressively, the owners are quick to respond and remove the dog. All of the dog owners are always so friendly, and I find myself striking up conversations frequently. The only reason that I don't give it 5 stars is because of the lack of grass, the location during certain times of day, and the fact that there is no separation of dog size or age. It is mostly dirt, which gets hot in the sun. It's next to an elementary school so I highly advise being aware of when school gets out or you will be stuck in number to bumper traffic. The park allows all dog sizes and ages in, which is great... But some dog parks have a two separate parks, one for small dogs and elderly, and one for bigger dogs or puppies. I've seen some aggressive things happen simply because of 4 month old large breed pup tried to play with an elderly lab with arthritis. This is why I give 4 stars instead of 5.

What a great concept for a very needed free public park for families to cool off and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings of shaded trees. We wanted to come check it out but were disappointed to see several caution signs revealing the fact that there has been confirmed dangerous levels of e-coli. Very sad to have such a gem in this city but ruined by whatever is causing this problem. We saw many still swimming, you would think if it was totally dangerous that they would have caution tape all around .

This is just incredible! Due to the pandemic this pool is great because it's very wide and you'd have plenty of space to social distance. We went on a very hot, humid day and the water wasn't too cold, it was just right. It was very cooling and enjoyable. There was lots of shade as well, very nice. Although the public bathrooms were horrendous, very old and shabby, no mirrors either, it looked like they haven't been cared for in my opinion. Besides that I wish I had know about this place the first time I visited California. It was very enjoyable and fun~!

Amazing, as a former competitive swimmer I have to try swimming everywhere I go and this was an amazing experience. Just passing through from Canada on our way to Lassen National park.

Clearly pet owners are more important than people. While signs prohibit dogs, they were everywhere. Imagine sitting on the grass next to the water area to picnic, but you sat in a spot the dogs pee on. Dog owners here do not care" we come here all the time, and nobody cares if we have the dog". WRONG! THIS IS NOT A DOG PARK. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Also known as One Mile Recreation area because it is one mile from John And Annie Bidwell’s house. Favorite hangout for locals. People come to walk and enjoy the water. In the summer people swim all hours to escape the heat.

Nice place to go swimming if you dont have a pool and its beautiful and great for dogwalking birdwalking or any birthday parties but the problem is how dirty the water is its been polluted by all the homeless people

Great place to view some art. They have frequent exhibits so you can go often and see something new. The staff are friendly. Great lighting and big open space.

My niece and I traveled from Grass Valley and Yuba City to view the current exhibit. The museum is beautiful, the staff is helpful and pleasant. I really enjoyed all the displays. Hope to visit again soon!!

It's small, but the exhibits were well executed. I enjoyed my visit.

I really enjoyed my time here. The curator was great, she talked to me about upcoming projects and I'm excited to go again. Today is sep 19. According to the curator, they will continue to have their current exhibits another week. You should go if you want to see some great art from Laos, wanted to interact with the art (I had a great time drawing on the chalkboard.), or want to draw. They have an art room full of art books, such as Di Vinci and many more, that would be great for improving your own art skills. Overall, had a great time. They are doing a mask making event and a ceramic making event soon.

I loved my experiences as a member, volunteer, and visiter to monca. Exhibitions, educational activities, special events, and moments of tranquility in reading room never failed to open my eyes and thoughts to new perspectives. Pat Macias works tirelessly to pursue quality exhibitions and community relevance. A very special place in Chico university and creative community, and beyond.

The OG!!! Great story! Can't imagine the party for the 50th! The pizza, wings, dessert, beers were absolutely outstanding! Plus, after you eat go to the gift shop and get 10% off your shirts! Great work Sierra Nevada! Chico is very proud of you!

Visited May 17th. See receipt as always. Wow..love this place in Chico! They open at 11am and the line was forming fast!! They do take reservations but was unable to get one so I got there early ( 1050am!) We sat up at the bar and we were served immediately. We are not big drinkers so we tried the beer sampler ( 4 beers). Really liked the porter! We split the huge pretzel with some yummy beer cheese and it was warm and delicious! ( plus leftovers). We also split the smash burger and chips. The burger was perfect and the chips had a little spice to them which we really liked! ( more leftovers!) It was packed within a half hour due to large groups coming in for graduation. It's a fun atmosphere with friendly employees as well as friendly diners. Good portions and a great menu to choose from. They also have regular tours which I might do next time! They have indoor and outside seating. Btw...it smells so good when you enter the restaurant...almost like a BBQ! Definitely recommend this place!

Wow! What a experience. The tour is extremely affordable. The guide was most excellent. She gave tour of operations and gave knowledge of how it started along with how everything works. At end of tour, we sit around and try drinks as part of tour. I really want to go again.

Love this place, lots of locally sourced ingredients and reasonable prices. Pride in food and brews shows through in what gets put in front of you. Bar service could use a little less attitude, but seems part of the charm. One of the OG brew houses in Cali and well worth the journey to visit.

Loved everything about this taproom—about 20 varieties of beer on tap, full service restaurant with good food, and an extensive gift shop. Pro-tip: visit the gift shop first, as it closes earlier and is accessed through a separate entrance about 50 yards from the taproom (there is also a small beer counter with taps in the gift shop area).

This brewery never dissapoints, all their styles I have tried are good to great. Right now I took a break in my autumn forest walk to enjoy a lovely and powerful Narwhal barrel aged imperial stout, cheers!

The Premier restaurant in Northern California!! Delicious and innovative food and beer! The decor is spectacular and the facility is spacious, yet cozy. All of the staff are great. We were lucky and our server , Rachelle, guided us through food and beverage options with a thorough knowledge of the menu as well as the history of Sierra Nevada brewing. Rachelle made an impression on us and was delightful! Recommend the Innovation beer: Boat Plane, one of the best beers I've tasted in a long time! Bravo to the Sierra Nevada team!

Small trail, none of it really runs too close to the river. There are access points to it but the trail is up from it. Nice area. I hiked in mid February so things were pretty green and the water level was quite high.

I attended the American Flat Track motorcycle race this May. Thanks for bringing it. This is a great facility and venue for this great National Championship racing series event. But what is the reason for the obstructed view? Please check out my picture.

We had such a great time at the Silver Dollar Speedway for the monster truck show! The whole event was so much fun for the family. The venue was clean, spacious, and well-organized, which made the experience even better. It was exciting to see the trucks in action, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back for future events!

What a blast! First time ever at a dirt oval and we'll defibrillator be back next season!

This race track is as fan friendly as they get . Food prices aren't sky high like some places . The New catch fence as well as track lighting has made for a much safer race track for both fans and drivers . The shows are run in very timely fashion ... So u can get home before 10 .. go see drivers in the pits ..Gold Cup brings the National sprintcar series High Limit and a 100k to win gold cup . It's a great family atmosphere.. come check it out ..

Great track but the stands are so close especially the bleachers that the cars throw clay right at you while watching the race. It was hard to watch the track as the cars came by..with all the clay particles in the air.. bring goggles if you go...and maybe something to keep the clay out of your ears..this will allow you to watch all parts of the track so you don't miss half the race..

If you have the chance you should go. Racing is under rated and they kept the action moving. Prices keep creeping up but it's still a night of fun for cheaper than many other activities.

It is a small but cute place near the University. It is a history place, but it is shocking to see how little left from times not that long ago and how dramatical the nationalistically driven events were for some nationalities in the area. With our modern days approach to equality, it is quite a revelation to see the historical drama of its absence. P.S. If you are a teacher, they take in organized tours

Small but insightful place of information. This museum will tell you a lot more than you might imagine. Did you know there was an electric street car going from San Francisco to Chico. There were steamboat ferris coming up from SF ( to Marysville and as far as Red Bluff). There was a big Chinatown- whose inhabitants were harassed, killed and eventuell driven out of town. Museum features beautiful altar of the Chinese temple and many more beautiful small windows to a past era. Don’t miss the police exhibit with hilarious description of a wanted criminal ( see video). They also hold special talks - check their events calendar.

My husband and I love that we can use our NARM membership at the Chico History Museum—what a great perk for travelers who enjoy learning about local history! I came here as an elementary school student over 30 years ago and now brought my own kiddos here on our visit. Wonderful bits of Chico history. I love that they have the Chinese temple exhibit that I remember from when I was young!

Great for little kids and summer camps. Part of Chico Area Parks and Recreation (CARD. The center has a variety of reptiles and amphibians as well animals that have been rescued and are unable to return to the wild.

Price is good and space is well maintained. The cashier doesn’t know how to work the register and safety protocols for children, parents, handlers and pets are quite unclear.

I enjoy this place so much! I go a few times a year with family. So far my favorite shows have been The Addams Family and It's a Wonderful Life. Arrive early as parking can be tricky-then you can also purchase a delicious treat and drink from the concession stand! Support local arts.

Fun and entertaining! Saw Funny girl. The main role had an amazing voice and was so wonderful. Lots of drinks and snacks. Love the intimate closeness to the stage.

Just finished watching the live reenactment of Clue today. It was great! The actors were charismatic and funny, and the staff were friendly. The theater itself is kept clean and tidy. The snack bar also had a great selection, and I hear that the drink bar had a good special. Overall, it was an amazing way to spend an afternoon with the family! I can’t wait to come back.

We attended "Oklahoma!" last Sunday. A wonderful performance, filled with great voices, great energy and fun! Ado Annie was a complete success, and Curly and Laurie were fabulous. A delightful cast and we were encouraged to sing along! Great fun on a Sunday afternoon!!

It's always an exciting night when I pull up to 1078. They offer a great selection of local and traveling gigs in addition to their regular galley. The make shift space can sometimes pound on the ears, but that's just a beauty and a part of the charm when you get to be in such an intimate space. Always excited to see what events will show up next!

The gallery has another business located inside. Equilateral coffee is inside and had their hours posted on their Instagram. 1078 Gallery always has some amazing art pieces inside, love going there to see what art pieces they have for the month.

This campus is beautiful and overall my experience has been great here. Some of the teachers are a little too much with their opinions on society and pushing how they feel on their students is the only downfall here. It can become redundant and a bit annoying when you don't think the same way they do.

Worthless degrees and lifelong crippling debt paying high cost for programs strung out over years from lack of tenured professors so administration can live affluently without guarantee of your future employment. Don't waste your time with college, it'll ruin your life economically, and it's a debt slavery trap (peonage) with government changing the terms every few years depending upon which administration is in power who share crops your future earnings without reprieve. Employers (who will let you go without notice) do not care about that degree they use as a means to discriminate labor while keeping incomes low, they want experience, and good luck getting it! Your net worth is your network; it's all about nepotism in oligarchic America. College debt will preclude you from owning a home or fully participating in American Citizenship based upon ownership of property. But ultimately, you will end up broke, homeless, destitute, and disillusioned trying to get employment with a college degree because the professional management class who has made college so dysfunctional and expensive is also the problem in the corporate and governmental world creating economic stagnation. Seriously, don't waste your time or life on it, you will become a debt slave to the government, and increasingly our country is anti-intellectual you will find yourself isolated from the average person who is okay with economic harm against you by Corporate America.

As a visitor, the campus is a beautiful place to visit. CSU facilities staff does an excellent job of maintaining all of the grounds and buildings. I felt safe on campus.

I was super excited to start in the fall of 2024, but the city is not great. For Chico being home to a university, they take no pride in keeping their town safe and clean. The campus is beautiful, but there are a lot more better CSUs in California. All the buildings are super outdated, no diversity in the city, students are rude and entitled, homless everywhere, horrible drivers, weird locals, incidents almost every single day, and the neighorhoods surrounding the univeristy are trashed and suspicious. They push you to move into streets that are close to campus which are the worst areas to live in with the most crime and homeless roaming around. I have had several suspicious people walk by my home while living in Chico and get personal belongings stolen. Several incidents that have occurred i.e, shootings at student apt complexes, random gunshots at night, and several other incidents. There is nothing to do in Chico and anybody who says otherwise is lying to you. Unless you like to be outdoorsy and have the time and money to be driving up to lakes and parks then Chico is fit for you, but no student is going to be driving 1.5-3 hours just to get to a decently sized city that has more food and entertainment to do and that is why every student just goes out to all the dirty nasty bars in Chico. Its a mid school and city, I wouldn't recommend anyone to attend yet alone live in the city.

Long time customer of Crush, and I have never left disappointed. Last week I wanted to try the NY steak, and it was absolutely mouthwatering. Best steak I’d had in a while. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is to die for. Make sure to make a reservation!

Originally from Long Island, New York, I’m a lifelong lover of Italian food, and it’s a rarity to find a place out here that truly hits home. Crush does it every time. My daughter goes to Chico State, and when I visit, this is our spot. Crush has become our mom-daughter date night go-to, and we’re never disappointed. The atmosphere is warm, the service is attentive, and the food is consistently delicious. The bruschetta is our absolute favorite — fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. Cheers!

My first time at Crush, but won't be my last. A friend and I went for a casual dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Our waiter (didn't catch his name) was fantastic. The roasted brussels sprouts were amazing and a must try!! We also had the gnocchi with chicken and the sausage lasagna. The bread with dipping sauce was also delicious.

Wasn't sure if this place would live up to the hype. I was very happy that it did. Arrived ten minutes before happy hour ended. Most places won't even bother to offer it to at that point but the server at the bar made sure we knew so we could get in an order before it closed off. Drinks were excellent. Gorgonzola salad was excellent. Crush pizza was excellent. Dessert was excellent. Price to food value was excellent.

After a laughably bad experience here a couple of years ago, my wife and I ventured in tonight to give them another shot. The first table we were seated at, we were being splashed by their water feature. We requested another table and while their faces told us they thought we should stick it out in the splash zone, they moved us. At 5:30 we were seated at our new table. We perused the menu and decided on drinks and apps but unfortunately never got to order. Despite 4 or so different waiters walking by, our table seemed to be unclaimed. Knowing this meal would cost close to $150, we decided to cut our losses after being ignored for 20 minutes. On the way out, my wife politely let the staff at the host stand know that we have been waiting for 20 minutes with no one stopping by our table for a drink order and we were going to just go ahead and leave. Both staff members stared at us blankly and never came up with a response of any kind- good or bad. This was almost identical to the service we received on our first visit in 2023, but that time we were inexperienced with what was to come and sat through an excruciating 2.5 hour long experience filled with wrong drinks and food and almost nonexistent service. Do your self a favor and go anywhere else.

Wow is all I can say. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants and the Lasagna special was the best I've ever had. Who thinks to put thin sliced beef in there??? Good service, great apps, excellent ceaser salad. Nothing to compare this to. Can't wait to go back.

Definitely worth a stop on a visit to Chico. This was one of my friend's favorite places to come to and view the newest glass art on display to admire and/or purchase and collect. The displays are tastefully done, and it is interesting to be able to view the vintage glass pieces as well. The shop is easy to get to in town with plenty of parking.

We are from Memphis and while visiting our Oroville family last month they took us to Orient & Flume. WOW what outstanding artwork!! Everything was absolutely beautiful and the staff was so pleasant. We plan to visit next spring and this will definitely be a must to do.

Good beer and great place to chill. This is one of my favorite spots when traveling through Chico. I’m an IPA guy and not completely satisfied with their options. A bit of an old school IPA taste. That said, I think their strength is German style beers. I once had an amazing altbier. The wife enjoys their kolsch. I still highly recommend this spot. I’d take it over Sierra Nevada should I have to make a choice.

Great stop in Chico, the patio is shady and well spaced. The beer is solid, with their Hazies and Kettle Sours leading the pack I think. But they do have porter and Stout options as well if that's your jam. The owner was there when we came by and she was super friendly, the other beertenders were great as well. I'd definitely go back.

Great brewery! Excellent quality beers with a range of styles from very light to very dark, plus some non-alcoholic drinks too. Mexican food truck outside is very good too. Highly recommend.

Love this brewery everyone is always super nice, I feel like a local although i just moved to chico a few months ago. Beer is good and so is the vibe but it would be nice to see more double IPA's added to the menu. PSA: Jamie is the best!

Great place to go have a drink and some food at the end of a long day. You should definitely look over their web page to see what food trucks, activities, live bands or events are going on during the week/weekend. Their staff is always incredibly nice and helpful when recommending drinks. My personal favorite is their Baltic Porter, and if you like peanut butter they have a version of that one too. There's always some surprises with there seasonal brews. They generally try and keep something on tap for everyone, sour, seltzer, darker beer, lighter, IPA's etc. Be sure to try thier flights if you're not sure what you are in the mood for.

One of my my favorite spots to grab a beer in Chico. Love supporting a local brewery that always has great beers on draft. Be sure to stop in now that they are open 7 days a week and a food truck most nights. If that's not your jam, bring your own food! Dog & kiddo friendly ❤️ Live music on Sundays. Happy drinking.

I never got to see the original bridge prior to its destruction from the Camp Fire in 2018. I have been wanting to see the newly finished replacement since it opened this year. I was impressed with the new one. They did a wonderful job.

The bridge was redone beautifully. The bathrooms were clean and open. There isn't much parking and access is a bit rough for disabled folks. We also found there to be ticks near the water. Views were great though.

We are lucky to have residents in the Centerville area that were committed to restoring the bridge. It really turned out great. It's a landmark that needed to be rebuilt.

I am a Filipino and married an American man here at the honey run bridge. This is my experience when my boyfriends asked me if I wanted to get married on the bridge my answer was YES but I didn't know where, when we arrived at the honey run bridge I said why are we here the bridge is rotten but I didn't know this bridge was so memorable. Perfect little theater for films you won't see at the big chains--small releases, classics, art films. Affordable tickets and concessions (bring cash!) and the nicest man who does everything. Get on their email list and get to the Pageant!

Forget Cinemark, watch a movie at the Pageant! I've never felt more emotion in any theatee other than this one. Keep an eye out for what's playing, and experience the laughter, joy, and sorrow, in Chico's best, and only, locally owned theatre!

Best lil'theater in town! Be sure to bring cash for snacks/drinks. No atm or credit cards there. Great place to see movies you won't see at the big cinema. Definitely a chico favorite.

I love this place, all the movies I want to see that big theaters don't show I happen to see here. Glad they dont just show general movies but foreign ones and eccentric ones, I love their taste in movies :) the popcorn is great too, and their ginger soda. I was extremely happy to be able to see El Problemista, Beau is Afraid, and other old school horror films, thank you for existing!

This place was amazing. We had no idea it was all vegan, so naturally we had to buy as many snacks as we could hold. The popcorn was great with the nutritional yeast sprinkled on top (we had to get a second bag) and we got there early and were able to snag the super comfy couches up front! We paid 6.50 for matinee tickets to an incredible film and the snacks were also incredibly affordable. Go see a good movie on a budget. Thanks Pageant Theatre!

Lots of big open field, baseball fields, about 5 disc golf baskets, pickle ball and tennis courts, there’s a play structure for little kids and another one for toddlers and the picnic tables are nearby, and there’s even an area designated for dogs as well as a bag dispenser to clean up after them. However… All year long, most days of the week the afternoons the sports take up EVERY SINGLE PART OF THOSE FIELDS so if you’re not doing that you’ll find no room for anything else, the homeless set up at the picnic tables all day everyday as soon as the sun comes up (I know this from going to play disc golf there before too many people are around), and a lot of people don’t pick up after they walk their dogs in the fields where people play.

It has a bathroom that's a little on the dated side but everything is in working order and well maintained. They don't have soap in the bathroom so bring your own. Also, for an area that commonly get triple digits in the summer, this park has one of the kindest constructed parking lots that I've come across. Trees were strategically placed all around and inside the parking lot so that there is plenty of shade and it's easy to park in it. The park is very dog friendly and even has an off leash area at the far end of the park. Also, because it is a sports park (multiple baseball fields and tennis courts), there are working water fountains scattered across it.

There is alot of activities at this park. Several tennis courts, soccer fields basketball quarts. I went to watch my grandkids soccer games. Parking is crowded. There were several games playing at one time and there is only one way in and one way out of the very long parking lot. No empty spots to park towards the end where my grandsons game was at, and only outhouse (portable) restrooms where we were. Grass is beautiful and green. The whole park has a paved path around it.

Good park with a few rough edges as in most parks in Chico due to some homelessness ....but they were in some certain spots and it's a beautiful park with good softball bocce ball a few disc golf baskets tennis and pickleball courts plus a walking path.

Not an altogether in a great atmosphere. I don't think I take my kids there on a Sunday afternoon. But for grownups it was pleasant enough.

Tried to do my granddaughters bday here and had to chase away several transients and clean several drug paraphernalia...used to be great park...disappointed

Most people who have been in Chico for any span of time have been to Bidwell Park. But an often overlooked gem is that of the East 20th Community Park. Large open fields with plenty of recreational activities are available with several leagues maintained by CARD for those who are looking for some team activities. It is an amazing place to also just sit back and enjoy nature.

Love the DCBA! They're always hosting great events that highlight local businesses and all things uniquely Chico. As a previous vendor at the Thursday Night Market I found their office to be exceptionally courteous, professional, and fun!

Overall friendly, but don't rely on the posted hours. Whatever the posted hours are, I'd plan on getting there an hour before, or an hour later, if you need to go there for anything. We went to get there to get our Taste of Chico tickets this year (2018) sine they stopped distributing them to all the businesses that the used to in years past. It was very frustrating to coordinate my work schedule with getting there, but once I figured out their actual hours, it worked out, and the staff there were friendly and helpful.

The dirtiest downtown district I’ve been in. Parking is horrible. Don’t bother, unless you feel like picking your way through a forest of homeless while the minutes tick away on the ridiculously short meter.

Visited here with friends. Wasn't disappointed in anything! Glad I didn't order a meal cause the appetizers were huge! Everything was delicious! Happy that hubby shared a bite of his salmon it was incredible!

I haven't been here since before the remodel, but the new setup looks great. It's got a very open design. The service was top-notch and the food was amazing. I got the Spicy Pep Pep pizza and it was a masterpiece. I'll definitely be ordering again. And of course they have a thousand beers to choose from. It's a good place to meet with friends, but be warned that it gets quite loud, so y'all may need to shout a little in order to hear each other.

One of the greatest breweries of all time. They are in my top 10 for sure. I love every beer they put out, especially the seasonal craft beers they come up with. My go to’s are hazy ipas, big little, double torpedo and narwhal stout!! Great origin story and example that the American dream is alive. The taproom: I saw blue Egyptian and black pine revival there recently and was shocked at how good the food was. My stepson his dad and I all went together there for the first time and the sound was amazing we all danced for hours like a bunch of hippies dripping in beer sweat. The bar had no line and was affordable. The atmosphere was divine, the craftsmanship of seats , stage and overall design of the place was remarkably inspiring and clean.

Went for a show in the Big room. It's a great little venue. Beer , wine and food available before and during the show. Restaurant was amazing. The dark wood and copper decor is great.

I and my wife and three kids are here tonight, and we absolutely loved our food! We had the salmon, jalapeño pepper burger, the pretzel with beer cheese, the sausage appetizer, and the kids grilled cheese with tomato soup. It’s been ages since we’ve had such amazing flavors at a restaurant, even before COVID. The menu and the kitchen are incredible! We can’t believe how much we enjoyed the food! Our server Courtney was wonderful and seriously knows what good service is about. 10 out of 10!

Taproom has a great variety of beers on tap and The availability of other varieties in cans in their shop too. Also they can can stuff right from the tap.

Nice to have a drink and play some suffel board here but it's expensive to eat. Kinda a tourist trap. Pizza use to be much better. The appetizer garlic bread was good and okay priced! I recommend trying that out.

Summary: The only thing saving this place is the steak and the dessert. Otherwise I wouldn’t consider going again. The shaken cocktails are watered down, but the stirred cocktails pretty good. The water they serve is disgusting. See if they maybe have other water you can pay extra for. Load up on the steak and mashed potatoes. Save room for the dessert. More details: First thing I noticed is the water they give you is some pretty bad tap water, wasn’t the worst but it was noticeable especially for the price point of the restaurant I’ve never had water this bad in Chico. I didn’t ask but it would be a good idea to see if they have other water available. Water 5/10 The bread they serve you is amazing I think one is a sour dough and the other is I think a dark honey wheat. It tastes very similar to Outback Steakhouse bread. 10/10 We ordered the side car and the barrel aged selection and espresso martinis the shaken cocktails were very watered down which could be due to smaller ice cubes used to shake the cocktails because I noticed a lot of small ice chunks in those still I’ve had worse my girlfriend wanted to send the sidecar back but I just gave her my cocktail as it didn’t taste bad enough that I was willing to sent the cocktail back. The barrel aged selection cocktail as a stirred cocktail was perfect. The glasses they use for all their cocktails are very excessively sized and the martini glasses are super thick and don’t sit in the hands very comfortably also they’re not the kind of upper endglass ware one would expect for the price point. Cocktails Shaken: 5/10 Cocktails stirred: 8/10 Glassware 5/10 Prawns were alright and the sauce was alright but the plating was pretty funny just seems weird to plate prawns on a bed of lettuce. Wasn’t very visually pleasing and seems kinda wasteful as it doesn’t feel like you are supposed to eat the lettuce, at the same time if a person wanted lettuce they would order a salad. Prawns: 6/10 10 ounce dry aged ribeye rare was some of the best I’ve had. I think a lot of steak houses get rare steak wrong but the crust was spectacular while the inside was perfect and the steak just melts in your mouth and the seasoning and butter is spectacular. The mashed potatoes were amazing. Also comes with a baked head of garlic which paired everything together so well. 10/10 Scallops were amazing, great sear on them and really nice texture. The spinach with garlic was nice but the scalloped sweet potatoes weren’t anything to rave over. My girlfriend found them too sweet and not seasoned very well. 7/10 The dessert trio we ordered with the crème brûlée, banana cheesecake, and the cookie brownie was pretty good. Not a lot of resturaunts do good desserts and I would but a whole cheesecake if they sold it and take it home. The crème brûlée was good the cookie brownie was meh. Cheesecake 10/10 Crème brûlée 9/10 Brownie cookie 8/10 Location is perfect, quiet, comfortable, servers are really nice we ate outside and the lighting is comfortable and they have warmers outside. There’s no lobby so while you wait for your table you are trying not to be in the way of the people sitting in the front. Bathrooms, super tiny, not well placed and not very nice but it’s an old building and not the worst steakhouse bathroom I’ve seen plus expansion would take a lot from their relativly limited seating.

We came here for our anniversary for happy hour, it's truly a great value for a quick bite and a few drinks. We had the calamari, the sliders, and onion rings. The sliders and the onion rings were so good, we really enjoyed those. The bartenders/ servers were really attentive and great all around. The only downside I'd say is that the tables are a little small on the bar side, which is where you sit for happy hour, it makes it hard to get more than a couple things as you can see in the photo. But otherwise, it's not that big of a deal, it's easy to navigate. We started with the old fashioned and had a couple strawberry lemon drops to end our early dinner. As I mentioned, it truly was a great value for the entire thing we only spent around $100 for two people. I highly recommend the happy hour here, you should definitely try it. But keep in mind, it is a smaller bar area, so if you're coming in a big group it might not work out too well but I'm sure the nice servers can help figure it out. I've also been here in the past for work events which they have private rooms for if you're interested for the bigger groups, etc. I had the surf and turf, it was amazing, super flavorful and the veggies were perfect. I don't recall what the other plate was called now but it was also very good, the mashed potatoes were great. We will definitely back for the regular dinner menu in the future.

Great place to go if you're looking for something with a good vibe and great service — food is a little on the pricier side, but that's okay. I highly recommend the Sourdough Burger! Delicious :) Has a lot of burgers with bbq sauce, and while I'm not a fan, it's great for people who are. Very kind and patient staff, great music playing — announcements are a bit loud, but that's understandable, considering how busy they get at times. Overall an 8/10! Great for tourists or visitors!

Certainly a place to try because of the decor. The food is good, just nothing extraordinary. The pork (and with grilled cheese) sandwiches are tasty.

Went on a trip to Chico and decided to try this gem. Friends have told me this was a super popular place for the college folk to go and indeed the restaurant has a hip pub-like atmosphere. The good: The atmosphere was pretty fun. There were a lot of young families when we went and the staff was very welcoming. Great location. Great area of town. Historic building. The food came out fast. Their burgers were really good. I ordered the Papa bear and also a side of onion rings. The burger was juicy, properly cooked, and well seasoned. The bun tasted fresh and the sauces were great. The BBQ sauce they keep on the tables is just the right blend of sweet and spicy. The fries were very good too and cooked just right and salted properly. Lots of places to sit and eat on a Sunday afternoon. The bad: The onions rings were a bit of a miss. Ours seemed over cooked and over salted. The ranch also tasted yuck. There is ranch you can get cheap at the store that tasted better than what they serve here so they should just switch to another brand. They don't offer Coke Zero or fun drinks like Angry Orchard or Mikes. In the ladies restroom my wife witnessed some young ladies who were sick and ready to puke due to too much alcohol. I think the restaurant needs to cut people off before they get like this. It's in their interest to not have to clean puke from everywhere in a restroom. The mens restroom smelled a bit and was in need of a remodel. Overall: It was a fun experience and I can see myself going back and trying new things on the menu.

The food was pretty good. Had a good time there. I loved their onion rings. I had the beer cheeseburger, it was really good. Everything was made fresh. Timeless classic bar in Chico…really fun. Incredible atmosphere!!! Please don’t ever change a thing!!!! December 2023 edit…still love this place but wow do the bartenders hate life. Just amazing!! Love that there is options but it’s not a huge menu. Fish tacos, Mac n cheese and wings hit the spot!! Was wanting to try the pho but it’s not available during the summer. Our server was sweet and it was great that you could seat yourself. The atmosphere was nice, could make for a great date night, spot to hang with friends or wanting to grab a drink!

Stopped in for a quick apatizer and a beer. They had a better selection of draft beers than a lot of places. I ordered a Great White and the Honey hot smoked wings with blu cheese. The food came quick and hot! In terms of spicy, they were not spicy at all, so if you're looking for a spicy wing you may want to try the buffalo sauce (I haven't tried it, I just assume it will have more kick). However, I was not disappointed! The honey glaze was excellent, not too sticky, sweet, and savory. The smokeyness of the chicken really came through, giving a full body blend of smokey and sweet that I loved. The chicken was cooked perfectly, hot and juicy! I will definitely go back to try more of their dishes. They have some interesting lunch combos that come with I think an entree a shot and a beer. The food is good enough that I would come here even if I wasn't going to drink.

Good food but it's downtown so geared to the college age crowd. I had the Atlantic cod po' boy and the mac and cheese with jalapeno on the side and both were delicious but a very pricey dinner. 35 apiece with tip and only 1 drink.

Atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming, music playing but not so loud you can't think or have to yell at each other. The service was fantastic, personable and friendly and made sure we were happy. The food was amazing, large portions, everyone was impressed by the food and we are very picky when we order out because it can be expensive. The price is about what you'd expect for dining out and so many times I've paid $20 for a meal I've been disappointed in but this was NOT the case, money for actual quality. You won't be disappointed 👌

Last Sunday evening… Female bartender edgy with plenty of attitude and awkward annoyed blank stares when taking orders. Not nice. Amazingly though, with her friends at the bar chatting and laughing seemed like a whole different person. First time here. I came for the smoked wings which were great. Other male bartender super nice with friendly demeanor. I guess if you are a regular you are treated differently. Stopped here on a road trip back from Lassen.

My friend liked her vegan burger but the atmosphere wasn’t the best. Music was way too loud- could not have a conversation :( Lighting was really dark and mostly red lol. It felt like a wanna-be goth place. Also they had no coffee :( our waitress was nice but she didn’t check in on us more than once in the 1 hour. I would have liked my water refilled at least once.

I took my 4 yo on a Sunday afternoon. Surprisingly, it wasn't crowded at all. This place is amazing! Each room is so well made, and certain areas are truly whimsical. All the play areas and the restrooms were impeccable. The staff is super friendly and they do a great job at keeping the toys tidy. The only problem is that, at the end, my daughter didn't want to leave!

I went just to check it out, since our daughter is still an infant. I think my daughter ended up a little jealous of us. We definitely had more fun than she did. This place is better for toddlers of speaking age. It's a good combination of fun and educational.

We went for a birthday party, and there were many places the kids could show there creativity. There were sensory options, climbing options, and even art options! There was never a dull moment! Thank you children’s museum!

We loved this place, so happy to have one in our own town! Great place for toddlers and older ones 2+ages. They have a play store, a play cafe, a tree house (that they are working to make a two story) a veterinarian office, a farm, a quiet sensory room which is awesome. We will definitely be coming back!

What a delightful place for young children. They are exposed to different environments. There's a camping room, farm area, veterinarian room, cafe room, etc. My grandson's loved the big pool of balls that they could dive into. This is a great find!

Amazing place! Fun even for adults. We went with our daughter and 5-year old grandson. Many different rooms with different themes, camping, grocery market, dentist, veterinary, chicken coop, lego wall, huge building blocks, and my personal favorite made by Earl's Plumbing. Its a wall of vacuumed clear tubes. You insert a piece of light weight fabric into one of the openings in the tubes, it runs around the tubes and gets blown out at one of the many exits and floats down.

So much fun! Unfortunately Chico doesnt have enough fun, indoor places for kids to play or to have parties/get togethers. this is not only a fun place to play but also a great place to learn, create art, listen to story time among many other things. We will definitely be going again!

The Chico Art Center is a wonderful place for beginners and professionals to showcase their works. The people volunteering are welcoming and encouraging. Try exercising your creativity.

Different art shows monthly. Need to check schedule to see what is showing at the time. It is a great way to see local art. If you have a desire to support Chico and the arts donate while you view what ever show they are featuring. My favorite was buried show for high school.

Best gallery in town, with constantly changing shows and a wonderful gift shop. Also, the Art Center, supported by YOU, has classes every quarter. The coffee shop, Great Northern, located next to the Art Center is owned and operated by the Art Center for the support of the Art Center. It's YOUR Art Center, please support it!

My estimate of Chico Art Center plummeted when I realized the artists for the recent Puzzle Show were not only charged $20 for each entry, but given NONE of the proceeds from the sale of their works. The contract the artists signed was very vague as to who would get the money. Surprise! It all went to the Chico Art Center and nothing went to the artists for their talent, time and materials. Very shoddy deal. In the future I will frequent other local art venues where the artists are rewarded for their talent , not the "dealers". Shame on you.

A small space that promotes local artists. I went in December when the art space was turned into a vendor/craft fair, so there were a variety of artists and craftors' wares displayed for purchase in addition to what was for purchase in the gift shop area (think paintings, photographs, candles, earrings, necklaces, and the like). I'll have to come back after the holidays to check out the space with a typical showing.

One of the best parks Chico has to offer. Our kids could play there all day long and not get bored. I love that there's always a beautiful mix of cultures and walks of life and seeing all of the kids play together and enjoy each other's company feels like a beautiful break from the serious and sometimes separated world outside the fence.

Beautiful area for the family, plenty of space, and different benches throughout to sit at. They also have a variety of playgrounds for different ages, the playground also has its own bathrooms..

Apparently, Caper Acres is officially a dog park. We were there for an hour or so and saw 5 people with their dogs. One person even tied their dog to a bench and just left it there. I had never seen so many kids there. It would be nice if someone would enforce the park rules. I also wish they would repair the drinking fountains.

This is my favorite park! On of the most beautiful, creative children’s playgrounds I’ve played on! Found this park when my Son was 4yrs old and frequent it for years until I moved. Got to introduce my twins to the park this past Saturday and they had a blast, they loved it just as much as their brother did when he was 4yrs old. Now he’s 13yrs old, but he’s still had tons of fun with his little brothers! What a great day! Plus, the park is dog friendly. The only place they prohibit dogs in the park is in the actual caper acres playground, which I thought is a good rule. Definitely recommend this park to anybody, kid or no kid, dog or no dog it’s a beautiful place to enjoy nature. The pictures don’t show all of the fun, there’s so much more, like the hammock swing, and that’s why I took the time to do this review.🙂Have fun!

Caper Acres was a great park for the kids. My daughter really enjoyed it. There are about 5 or 6 different sections to this park. Each section is different so your child will get a variety of activities when they are here. I would highly recommend park. It was much nicer in person. I will definitely come back with my daughter.

I wish this park was around when I was a kid. I mean there's actually a REAL legit TEETER TOTTTER! I haven't seen one in years so, yes, I was excited and had to get on it with my friend. We played with the kids on the playground like we were one, because it was just that awesome. And it's huge, there's lots to do. Definitely want to bring my son there again soon🤩👍

Great park with fall colors and smells. Good open areas for throwing balls for dogs. Nice overgrown paths along creek. A map of the park and facilities would be welcome. Let dog off leash and swim in creek. No signs to indicate otherwise. And a supply of plastic bags would be nice too.

Hours on the website are totally wrong... Came from Corning at 12 cuz that's the opening time according to on line. Mini golf is under construction No water running in the area The punching bag just swings free doesn't register.... Don't put your money in cuz even though the attendant said it was broken he ripped them off as he would NOT give them back the 4 quarters. They played pool and batting cages were ok. Brought the kids from NY for a couple of weeks.... Next time I'll go up to red bluff to play.

The mini golf course is cute. There was one hole that was under construction, but it was posted very nicely. There's a cute arcade and ice cream inside. There's a nice party room and tables outside. The service was great. The two young men working were very pleasant.

I love this place but there are 2 kids that work on the floor that are definitely not 21 and they smell like marijuanna, very concerning and I don't need my kids smelling that and I don't want to either. Btw I know it's them because I only smell it when they are near me. They are the ones that do tricks on the rink. A white blonde haired kid and an African American.

It's been 20+ years since I've been here. It hasn't changed a bit. Lol. Came for my nieces birthday party. We rented the entire place. It was perfect. Thanks for the good times

What a delightful fun center! The mini golf course is fun and challenging. There's no wind mill, but the over the water bridge shot more than makes up for that. There's air hockey, video games and a batting cage ($1.5 for 15 pitches). It's all fit in a compact space that makes it quick and easy to get from one activity to another. My family had a great time.

Grandkids loved it - an hour was enough time for them to bounce around on a day off school. The obstacle course was open the next time we went and was a big hit with my 7 year old granddaughter. Staff attentive and monitored areas well for safety. Glad we brought our socks back with us the second time otherwise $4 per pair mandatory.

Took my daughter and her friend here to have some fun time. The girls were a little disappointed about the snack prices not being displaying the right price. On the napkin containers it shows one size and in the front entrance it shows another. I just the business properly changes the napkins containers so another family doesn’t have to go through this

Fun for the family!! All three kids 4-10 had a blast at a last second birthday celebration. The staff is super nice, and patient even with unreasonable kids lol. There were no downsides, all good times. I highly recommend this place. We will be coming back 😀

Update 2024: I think the pizza changed it's not good at all anymore, it's thin and tasted bad. Two kids didn't like it and I didn't either. I feel like if I'm paying for food and drinks I shouldn't have to wait an hour to get them. Especially drinks! The kids were thirsty 20 mins into jumping which is why I got lemonade. I also don't think they give 1 hour jump passes and stickers for the bday child anymore... 2022: Super fun Love the prizes and birthday rooms!

Had Soo much fun today, Soo much to do in Soo little time. Rates are by the hr. Snacks, games, children of all ages welcome. B-day party rooms. Don't forget the jam bored $5hr an it's fun. My daughter had Soo much fun her upcoming B-day will be held there.

Kids had a lot of fun! One employee was really good with the kids and helped my son onto the trapeze because he was afraid to jump, then when employees rotated he was very cold towards my son and wasn't even trying to hold it close enough for him to grab. But otherwise the kids had a blast on all the different trampoline activities there. Good place for birthday parties.

I came here for a birthday and it was a great experience! The pizza was good and there were a TON of interesting combinations that I would like to try. The beer selection is outstanding and there are cool games outside and some arcade games inside too.

Ok, here we go. This place is awesome. A different experience for me. When you walk in the door, you order your food. If you are drinking beer, you get a blank white card. There are rows of taps to choose from. The IPAs are mostly together. You tap the card at the base of the description of the beer . You poor your own beer. You can poor as little as you want to taste . The staff helps first-timers. There is a game section, too. It's really fun. Two large TVs with sports playing. Oh, and the pizza is really good, too. Kinda fancy ingredients. The pesto veg really didn't have anything but tomatoes and onions, but it was still very tasty. The chicken and waffle pizza was new to me , it was fun to try something new.

Great place to hang out with friends. Plenty of games to play while hanging out too. Their pizza is VERY good, if not the best in Chico. The taps rotate and have a wide range of IPAs, hazys, cider, and light beers. Highly recommend checking them out if you’ve never been.

This is a great spot to take kids as long as there’s shade at the time you go. I like that you order at the counter, no waiting for servers to check on you. I like the concept of the card and self-pour but a few times have experienced issues with empty kegs and a cup full of foam needing to get help. Also, most recently when I was there only one hazy IPA was on tap which was surprising. I will also say this is a great spot for groups as you don’t have to worry about splitting a check and there is plenty of seating options inside and out.

This is a unique place as they have indoor and outdoor seating and in the outdoor there's all kinds of games and things for kids and people to do there was a live band for Friday night that we were there and people took the dancing as the evening went on. You pour your own drinks from a wide variety of craft beer and wine cooler white cloth type beverages by scanning a card and you determine how much of what you want.

I love the multiple beer choices on tap and love the idea of pouring my own beer 🍺. No waiting in line for a busy bartender to finally get to you. They have live music sometimes and food trucks in the parking lot. I can't wait to come back. On top of all the amazing beers they have charging areas along the seating area 😀

I love the commons ! Staff is always friendly and packed ! It’s such a great vibe. Beautifully designed and pizza is delish!! Always a yes when friends say let’s go!! There is always a place to sit and they even have tons of free board games to choose from. Bathrooms are always clean even if they have a slammed night this place maintains a fun and entertaining atmosphere!!

Alice was an amazing bartender for my friends 21st birthday! She made all of our drink within a very reasonable time frame. I had a great time myself!

This place is my new favorite! They make fresh in house made Whipped Cream!! The hot chocolate is mui CRAVABLE! They have a lady who makes all the sweets just for them and everything is so very worth the extra workout time. This time I got the white chocolate lemonade sugar cookie. Yummmmm! I have worked at another coffee shop downtown for several years. I can say honestly Brave is right at the top of the top coffee dogs in Chico. In terms of flavor, consistency, cost, and availability of seating Brave is a place above most. Gentry, the owner, is kind, personable, and immensely knowledgeable. His time at Temple coffee in Sacramento made him a great barista and from what I can tell a great business owner. I have been going here more and more the past few months and it's very quickly becoming my second spot. If you haven't tried the Bliss or the Traditional Cappuccino you're missing out. The picture is my friend's daughter chilling like she just got off a ten hour shift. Seriously though, try Brave. It will not disappoint.

I have been getting the enlightenment tea for the last 2 months as my morning pick up and its been wonderful each time. This morning I had one of the best I’ve had so far. I recommend this place they take there time with there drinks they make it a craft❤️

The coffee itself deserves 5 stars - it was smooth and tasty without being overly bitter or acidic. They serve espresso, drip, and pour-over styles. The service was fast and friendly. While they have some delicious pastries, I didn't see anything in the way of non-pastry items. I think if they'd expand their food menu, they'd definitely be 5 stars.

Clean, excellent service, and drinks that are well made with high quality coffee. This place does a great job of meeting the clientele that would frequent a coffee shop in San Francisco or Seattle but in the awesome town of Chico! While prices are higher ($4.80 for a cappuccino) it was made The atmosphere offers comfortable seating and a great vibe inside and outside! Businesses often struggle at this strip mall location so be sure to support this great coffee shop!

Came in for a pour over. The coffee offered was Kenyan and should have been fruity, however the cup was overly bitter. I imagine it depends on which baristas make your coffee, but this cup was not worth the trip.

In a country of dying customer service, Made in Chico proves that friendly, caring, and genuine service industry workers still exist. I always come here for upcoming birthdays and other events and I am never let down. There is always a balance of new items from new artists and a solid collection of Chico staples. Not only are the items local and quality, but you can ask for your purchase to be gift wrapped free of charge. Next time you have anything to buy for an event, or even a gift for yourself, consider taking the time to go downtown and SHOP LOCAL. This store is amazing and deserves support.

I went to made in Chico with my mom and niece who is in college. I am half black and half white so have very brown skin. I was followed in this store from the minute I walked in for no reason. I do not tolerate micro-aggressions and I would never go to this place again after experiencing racial bias.I want to make it clear that there were plenty of other people there for them to pay attention to, but they honed in on me. I was wearing a regular cute summer dress, looked normal, nothing about me that would seem to be doing anything wrong. The only difference between myself and the other customers was my skin color. My feelings are very hurt from the whole experience.

Everything is very custom made and from people in Chico. They also hand wrap the item if you want it as a gift. Also for business they will make gift bags with different items around things you told them about the person. Its amazing. It can take a while at check out.

I have never been to this store, but today I went in to grab some items for a gift basket I was making for my work. I have to say - I have never experienced such wonderful service. I failed to get the name of whom had helped me, but she was from Australia - and she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. She could tell I was a bit frazzled and AMAZED by everything they had to offer, and she so graciously took some time out of her day to help me make the perfect gift basket. 5/5 WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND AND WILL DEFINITELY BE USING AGAIN!

Great hiking trails, especially for children and botanists

Chico Tree Farm is a dream for walkers and photographers. The park features a lovely stream that winds through the landscape, providing endless photo-worthy moments. It’s also dog-friendly. The towering bamboo groves are lush and dramatic, offering standout backdrops for pictures. A perfect spot for a peaceful stroll and memorable photo opportunities. 🐕📷🌿

This is a nice spot to bring the dog (on leash) and enjoy an easy stroll on a paved path. The Nature Trail is about a 1-mile loop, paved, though it is very uneven in several spots due to roots underneath, so wheelchair users might want to keep that in mind. There is more to explore (beyond the official trail) around the groves of trees.

Butte county hike first one that I've done it's beautiful and it's green and it's got a beautiful Creek that runs through it and you're allowed to bring your dogs and you can walk them

What a fantastic park! The highlight for me was definitely the beautiful stream flowing through Bidwell Park. The water was so clear and the surrounding greenery was lush – it's a really tranquil spot to unwind. The children's playground was also a big hit with my little ones. It's spacious, with a good mix of swings, slides, and climbing structures that catered to different age groups. While enjoying the park's beauty, I did unfortunately come across some litter. I took a few minutes to pick up some of the trash I saw. It's a shame to see such a lovely place not always treated with the respect it deserves. Despite that, Bidwell Park remains a wonderful asset to Chico and a great place to spend the day.

Bidwell Park is hands down one of my favorite places in Chico. It’s truly a gem—sprawling, peaceful, and full of hidden treasures. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to walk, a rugged trail to hike, or a shady spot to picnic, Bidwell has it all.

The water still isnt cleared for swimming the park is still a beautiful calming place to spend some time outdoors without a long commute. I recommend walking the bike trail until you get to the redwood grove. It's a short walk to see a shady spot that reminds be of the California coastal redwoods without having to drive a few hours to see them. You can also reserve the redwood grove for personal use and people have been known to get married in the grove. Highly recommend 👌

A beautiful park with a creek that's been expanded into a swimming hole with depths between 1 foot to 6 foot deep before the water escapes and continues down the creek. Wonderful green area. Great reflections for photography.

It was my first time going and unfortunately we didn't know the pool was opened and didn't get a chance to enjoy it. I love the place. The trails are long and the scenery gorgeous. There's even places that you can still on the banks of the river and cookout and even put your feet in the water. Water was clear and breath taking. Excellent spot for riding horses as well.

A pool and a creek? Couldn't love it more. Fun times with family here, beautiful shades, great trees, and many picnic spots. And yes, the elote guy is there also😅

Attended a show here on the 18th and the ceiling fell and hit me and other concert goers, if I could give zero stars I would and it seemed the staff didn’t even care or anything

Not even a foot into the door and my shoes were sticking to the ground. No ventilation and the performer almost had a heat stoke on stage. If this is the only place to go to for concerts in Chico, I will be happily stay at home and watch a live concert on YouTube rather than worry about possibly needing a tetnis shot after a just trying to get a little music therapy. Honestly this place cannot be healthy for anyone. It's sad such a once beautiful theater has gone to such a nasty condition.

The discrimination of disabled persons here is UNREAL! Our line was at a standstill because a woman with a disability was being blockaded from entering the establishment with her service dog, not emotional support, service dog. The security team were agressive and dismissive. The man who seemed to be the security lead made the argument “this is my house, I can make whatever rules I want for my house. No animals allowed is on our website.” The woman attempted to explain her dog is not a pet, but a disability accommodation and aid. The security guy held firm. She kept her place in line as a gentlemen who appeared to be with her attempted to defend her and her right to enter with her service dog. He explained that based on California law, she was being discriminated against. The security guard held firm then attempted to verbally move her from her position, threatening to call the police and report her as trespassing. She asked if they were going to refund her ticket if they wouldn’t let her in, to which a man who seemed like he was maybe the house manager, agreed. In looking up the California disability laws, she does indeed, without question, hold the right to enter any space with her service animal. I also checked the website for the El Rey, it does say “no animals”, but completely fails to recognize that service animals are not not under the same restrictions. You should be ashamed of yourselves El Rey. It’s a shame that a place with a seemingly heartfelt desire to promote the arts in a community which needs the arts to continue to grow and thrive, that you would ignorantly and disgracefully discriminate against a person. Update. When we git I side, we saw another gentleman inside, who, while in line, had his service animal. I took a photo of his dog laying beside his chair in the theater.

There is so much potential. But there appears to be a bunch of mold in ceiling. The murals need attention. Heat? Please. But the lounge seats are nice. Good bathrooms.

Acoustics weren't the best for the two bands I saw there, but a great old theater.

Such a beautiful park with tons of shaded areas and space for the family. During the summer they have lifeguards. There is a snack bar, restrooms for you to rinse off, a nice creek next to the pool and a toddler area (water is very low for kiddos to enjoy 🥰). Plenty of picnic tables and you have a park next to it plus plenty of hiking and paved trails

It's a beautiful day today and as the sun is beginning it's slow descent the bright and warm colors of summer, the sound of the creek rushing by me...it just feels like home. I would not want to live anywhere else on Earth but Chico, right her and right now...

A bit busy with kids, but such a nice area to picnic or lay in the grass and read a good book. Really happy I decided to venture out there today & I will definitely be heading back tomorrow for round 2!

Very peaceful when I visited here with my dogs. Seen a family of otters which was cool. Will be back in the summer to try some fishing.

While we had been hoping to enjoy birding in another state park, closer to Red Bluff, driving to Chico in Butte County was a gem. We could not tell if we had to pay as we came through the gates, and meeting up with employee where we stopped let us know, this end was free. WOW, what a deal! A year ago my sister-in-law had given me a brochure on local birding. And, with my nephew having just graduated from Chico State, we could not pass up the opportunity. There are many turnouts along this area, but we chose the last one. A nice walking trail with so many butterflies (Palmedes Swallowtail) my camera thought they were birds. There are two ways to take the trail, but as State Park Employee emphasized, tuck your pant legs and where boots as rattle snakes may be lurking. There were so many native plants using my inaturalist app was exciting. My favorite of the day was definitely the Floating Primrose-willow. It was a wonderful hiding spot for Herons and Egrets. Plus baby ducklings. Bird species we saw: Belted Kingfisher (one male); Acorn WP; Spotted Towhee; Bullock's Oriole; Western Wood Pewee; Black-headed Grosbeak; Oak Titmouse; Common Raven; CA Scrub-jay White-breasted Nuthatch; Am. Robin; Nuttall's WP; Northern Flicker; Ash-Throated Flycatcher; Bushtit; Greater Yellowlegs; Great Blue Heron; Great White Egret; Black Phoebe; House Wren Red-shouldered Hawk; Red-tailed Hawk; Wood Ducks(7) and family of new ducklings with mother Wood Duck; Wild Turkey (female).

The Washout used to be THE place to go. It was amazing all year 'round, but the spring and summers were amazing. There would be cars, and trucks parked 3 and 4 deep along the mile or so gravel bar. People partying, carousing, hooking up, and just having a great time. Those were the days!! THEN after the infamous Pioneer Days riots, The State of California came along and decided the entire area needed to be regulated, patrolled, and gated. It is still a beautiful area, the entire Sacramento River is bitchin. From Shasta to Sacramento. The Washout DID get a bit off th hook...but it was all good.

Beautiful place to walk your dog, easy water access, parking .

I love the river. In the middle of summer, on the hottest day-when the water flowing through Bidwell Park is tepid at best, and even Butte Creek gets warm outside of the canyon-the Sacramento River will always be cold enough to give you goose bumps. The sight of that beautiful and majestic river cutting through the land makes me grateful that I live in California in the good ole U S A

Never actually been there when it was open but it's still a great stop! Lovely little outdoor area with rustic memoribelia and a water fountain (a must for cyclists passing through Centerville). I'm sure it's a great mueum, too.

This small treasure remains. We were told it was distroyed in the Paradise Fire. But it's totally fine.

The museum has a wide range of local memorabilia. The displays were well organized and included many interesting displays. The docent was also knowledgeable and helpful.

What a real treat this was. Playing on the playground, the inside where a nice couple entertained us with a plethora of facts about the items in the museum. Then we played basket ball and hopscotch out from before leaving. Excellent experience

This community run museum is a gem of the gold rush history of this almost remote area. Do your kid's a favor and spend an hour or two with them poring over the varied exhibits including the gold nugget found nearby!

This is a beautiful park with lots of trees for shade. There are two playgrounds, 3 baseball diamonds, disc golf, picnic areas, and one large, covered picnic area. It's a popular park, especially for dog parents.

One of the best parks in Chico. This park is far enough from stores that it isn't frequented by unauthorized camping. The park maintenance crew and park Ranger do a great job keeping it safe and clean. Off-leash dog time 7 to 9 AM

Nice quiet park. Not too large yet plenty of room to stretch ones legs.

Great little park on the corner its the size of a standard lot basically. Has picnic tables and some good swings and other obstacles great for kids. (Also has 2 gyms for you Pokémon Go fans

It's definitely not my favorite, however it's nice that there is a small neighborhood park with a little playground equipment but I'm not a fan of the shady people who often frequent the area. I also wish it were fenced in better for how much traffic is around. The basketball area is much nicer than when I was a kid because of the new flooring.

A well kept but disappointingly small park. The baby swings are the only play equipment for small children. There's a slide and climbing structure and swings for bigger kids. The basketball court is newly refinished.

I use to love the basketball court, one of the main reasons I went there but after they re-did the court with what seems like foam flooring like it's McDonald's playground it sucks. A fully aired up ball won't even bounce like it's suppose to, it defeats the purpose of a basketball court . Very unfortunate

This park is where I grew up playing basketball. Has a good court and pick up games when the weather is good. The playground was up graded but still is ok at best, and today the water fountain didn't work. It is a small community park and does what is asked for.

Wonderful and charming bit of park. Surround by cute ,quaint ,cookie cutter style, family homes. Great place for kids of all ages. They took the barbecuer out and turned off the fountain ,so be sure to bring snacks and drinks. Hours of family fun.

My wife and I were visiting the Chico area and stopped in for a Sunday afternoon wine tasting at Nascere. The wines, both white and red, were tasty and our server Andrea was very knowledgeable about them. She was also fun and engaging to chat with. Very nice experience at this boutique vineyards!

Joan our server was super wonderful and nice. Gave us options where to eat near by, farm stands near by. Excellent service!!!

Best wine consistent accross their selection in Chico area. Friendly staff and owners.

Enjoyed some wine and a charcuterie plate on the patio. It is great to support the local winemakers.
