Pizza restaurant
Sandwich shop
High Mountain Pies is a cozy and relaxed eatery in Leadville, known for its exceptional pizzas, calzones, and sandwiches. The restaurant offers outdoor seating and a diverse menu featuring freshly-made meals such as wings, ribs, salads, and customizable pizzas. One of their unique creations is the Crocodile pie with barbecue sauce, cream cheese, shrimp, bacon, and jalapenos. Whether you dine in or opt for delivery or takeout, High Mountain Pies promises a memorable culinary experience.
Hands down the best pizza I’ve had since moving to Colorado! The atmosphere was spot-on—great vibe and an outdoor space that’s perfect for kids: spacious, enclosed, and beautiful. The pizza had the perfect amount of crunch with fun, creative flavor combinations I never would have expected (the Crocodile 🤤 was amazing!). The cheese bread was a hit, and the sauce was absolutely perfect.

5 out of 5 for a Pizza pie place. I will be back again to get more 🍕 Pizza. I didn't expect this out here on the Mountain. I ordered a regular cheese pizza just to see how it was gonna go. At least I asked for a bread recommendation, the dips were worth it and then some. This Pizza would be worth a half hrs plus drive if I was in copper or other neighboring cities I would come drive for it, they have a dine in area and a outside patio space, I took mine to go but this place is something that I want to come back to and dine in next time. I feel like the could buy a next door house connect a Skywalk and use up the capacity of the future seating area, add some tap drinks and nachos and I wouldn't ever have to leave. By the way, great undercarriage. Ordered standard tossed crust.
Justn D — Google review
Must-eat pizza! This is fantastic pizza and super friendly staff! Pablo and the rest of the crew were refreshingly kind, professional, and accommodating! If you're anywhere in the Leadville area, come here for not only some crunchy outside, soft inside pizza crust and unique pizza combos, but enjoy the AMAZING customer service! We had the Crocodile and the Deluxe pizzas. Small interior seating but lots of outdoor seating with beautiful atmosphere, heaters. It's worth taking to go if you must!
Veronica S — Google review
We had heard about High Mountain Pies before we came to visit Leadville. They did not disappoint, the staff was friendly and set an awesome atmosphere, the San Luis pie was exceptional. If we are back here in our travels we will stop by again, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
Jens L — Google review
My husband and I shared: - San Luís Pizza - Bacchanalia Pizza Both of these were fantastic in very different ways. I loved the sweetness of the grapes on the Bacchanalia. It was one of the most unique pizzas I've had. The pork seasoning was delicious on the San Luís. It's a busy place during lunch on the weekends and there is very little indoor seating, so be prepared to eat outside or take it to go.
Jacqueline T — Google review
Since we’re road trippers, we’ve tried so many different pizza places so far. This place is the best. The vibe, pizzas, price everything is perfect! The crust is very crunchy and just perfect. You don’t wanna miss this spot🍕
Keumdal J — Google review
Some of the best pizza we've had. Crust was soft on the inside, crisp on the outside. The staff was amazing. Views were fabulous, we loved the backyard feel of eating outside. Fantastic pizza!

Restaurant
Step into the past at the legendary Silver Dollar Saloon, a historic Old West establishment in Leadville, Colorado. Dating back to 1879, it's the state's oldest-operating saloon and is adorned with original features like an old windbreak and train-seats-turned-bar-booths. The walls are lined with photos capturing its rich history and famous visitors such as Doc Holiday and Oscar Wilde. The small but impressive menu offers upscale options alongside classic bar fare.
The food was amazing! We got the wings, onion rings and some drinks. Everything was so uniquely flavorful and learning the history about the building was really interesting. It was cool to sit in a building Doc Holiday and Molly Brown were in.
Vance S — Google review
We came on an extremely busy weekend… Skijoring weekend! People overload! Considering that I think we got a table relatively quickly, after only waiting 30ish minutes. My friend and I both got the Tandoori Chicken sandwich and an order of onion rings. The tandoori chicken sandwich was good… felt like it needed some acid, maybe lime juice? The bun on the sandwich was the best part! Like melt in your mouth bread. The onion rings were fantastic!! The only reason I knocked a star off of service was because when we ordered drinks my friend got a beer and I asked for a glass of water. Her beer came and no water. After getting our food I asked again for the water which the waitress said the water was self serve from a jug at the front of the dining room. No issue with the self serve part just wish she would have mentioned it 20 min before when we first sat down.

run, don’t walk!!! go get the pulled pork sandwich — i don’t care if you’re not hungry! kidding, i kindly suggest it 🤭 wanted to stop at the legendary silver dollar saloon for a while + finally made the stop. very worth it / highly recommend it! a couple cold beers + yummy food + nice vibe. sat in the dining area but would sit at the bar next time, for sure.
Maddy F — Google review
Hands down the best food we’ve ever eaten! My husband got the Yak burger special which we hope and pray will be on the menu next time we’re in town, the best burger I’ve ever had. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was amazing, the bun itself, incredible they must make them in house. We were referred by the nice lady at the visitor center, she mentioned the new owner of the bar hand picks food from local farms and prepares holiday dinners for people in need during thanksgiving and Christmas, sounds like a good establishment to support to me! A must eat when in Leadville
Lisa P — Google review
Very cool place being historical. Sat at a bar top in the bar area. Order onion rings, Smoked Salmon Cigarillos, Lamb French Dip and The Hazelnut Beignets. Everything was delicious.
Marilyn C — Google review
Old saloon that serves an electic menu of modern eats that are well prepared. The staff is friendly and attentive. They have a nice bar and bottled beer. Definitely a place to stop if you're hungry in Leadville.
Whitney H — Google review
I ordered the apple french toast. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But wow! I never order french toast at restaurants, but this was legendary. It’s given me hope again! (I ate this the night before hiking Mt. Elbert) It was very warm inside this place, but it’s an old building. So I’ll cut it some slack!
Samara O — Google review
Waited 45 minutes for one sandwich and one tiny burger. Food was fine but at that point I would've eaten anything. Restaurant was only about half full so no apparent reason for the slow service. Also, server never came to check on us once unless we flagged him down.

In addition to indoor seating, there's an inviting outdoor patio where patrons can enjoy their meals. The menu features a variety of options including burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, and their renowned Melanzana rolls.
Love love love the awesome food served up by Robbie - super positive and helpful - yes the recommendation on the Reuben was spot on! My son Jake is so critical of burgers and ate the whole thing! Grilled cheese and the tastiest thick tomato soup is to live for… Thank you We will be back

What a great place! The food was excellent. We enjoyed the dog friendly patio. I ordered the Mac Attack with the beer cheese soup. Both were excellent. My family ordered various items and everyone was happy. Definitely worth stopping in!
Daniel — Google review
So happy we stumbled upon this sweet little cafe. Our server, Sarah, was so friendly and helpful! We had the Reuben sandwich with sweet potato fries….those were so so good! And I had the potato soup which was wonderful on a somewhat chilly day. I highly recommend TPC and if you’re lucky Sarah will be your server. 🩷
Kelli H — Google review
Good food, some interesting menu options mixed with staple favorites anyone can find something they will like on the menu. Service wasn't bad but also wasn't notably good; small things like my water glass never being refilled, no offer for second round of drinks, and minimal assistance after the food was dropped. Would still return and would recommend.
Mitch A — Google review
Simple menu, but some unique items and enough variety especially with soups, salads, and sandwiches. Filling meal without feeling too heavy afterward. Didn’t like the pepper on the fries, could have done without jalapeño pieces in the beer cheese soup, but no other complaints. Liked that you could order the salad in small or large. Wish they had a nonalcoholic drink menu. Very casual atmosphere. No parking aside from a few spots on the street or public lot across the street. Great meal stop at an affordable price.
TravelR — Google review
Truly an exceptional meal: tomato bisque and mushroom soup were flavorful, clearly fresh ingredients. The chicken and Brie sandwich was a perfect combination. The trout, Brussels sprouts and fresh veggies (local) was exquisite. We shared two desserts, wide beer list and a delicious ginger beer. No wait, cram restroom, friendly server. shoutout to Alec and James - a gem!
Meg S — Google review
Food was good—nice variety, Brussels sprouts were REALLY good. Taking the time to leave a review because other than the food, our experience was a bit surreal. The entire staff we interacted with was incredibly grouchy. We were there as a family of 8 (teens and adults) and were treated pretty rudely several times. When my teen daughter ordered Mac & cheese and fries, the waitress literally said to her, “wow guess you’re carbo-loading pretty hard today”. Unbelievably insensitive. Drinks were not refilled. It was a Saturday afternoon during college football season and their 3-4 TV’s were all shut off. The way the waitresses were acting made everyone nervous to ask about turning on a game. Definitely will not return. Worst part was being given a receipt with a *20%* tip automatically applied. You can auto-add 15% for large groups, but 20% was not justified in any way. Bill was $250 for 8 people and everyone drank only water and no apps or dessert was ordered.
Parker D — Google review
Great lunch spot, got busy around 12/1 but service was prompt and food was delicious. Was recommended to us from Carly at Melenzana! Thanks for a great meal! Had the hot pastrami sandwich and potato bacon soup. Mom said salad was the best she’s had.

Quincys Steak & Spirits is a beloved restaurant with four locations in Colorado, particularly in the Upper Arkansas River Valley. Established in 1997, it offers a comfortable Western-inspired atmosphere and specializes in serving filet mignon and prime rib alongside cocktails. The menu is intentionally limited to ensure high-quality dishes, featuring options like steak, vegetarian lasagna, and mac and cheese for kids.
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The steak was simply delicious, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff at all times. The desserts were the perfect ending—irresistible and full of flavor. At first, we were skeptical because the menu is limited, as they offer daily specials, but every dish exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is also very traditional, adding to the charm and authenticity of the experience. Highly recommended!
Adri O — Google review
Quincy's is a great place to dine. We have been coming here for over 15 years. Friday and Saturday they have Prime Rib, which is great. This time we were there on Tuesday and I had the 15 oz fillet, medium. It was perfect. Service was good and we had an enjoyable evening.
Hank D — Google review
What a great restaurant! Was very happy with everything about it. Me and my wife both got the steak. It was cooked exactly as we asked and had so much juice and flavor. The service was great and happy to tell us about the history of the building. Great experience! Come and try for a great experience in historic Leadville.
Jacob S — Google review
I have been going to Quincys for 25 years and have enjoyed the prime rib. Sadly the quality of the meat has gone down to the point where you can’t even cut it or chew it. I had to spit out the meat into a napkin because I couldn’t swallow it. My problem is the product should never have been served. It was full of grissle. The manager did not handle our complaint well. My point was to the manager is, why serve a piece of meat uneddible in the first place. Go back to your higher standards Quincys. We will not come back.
Diane K — Google review
Do not eat here. One star for food is too generous. With a limited selection menu (filet mignon or vegetable lasagna the night we were there), you would think they knew how to present those dishes. We both had the filet - thinking the prices were a steal when we ordered, yet the smell and appearance of the steaks when they arrived told us we were wrong, very wrong. Cooked medium rare as requested, they steaks were an odd texture to chew. They came bacon wrapped yet neither the steak nor the bacon had a flavor beyond rancid oil. Baked potatoes were almost fully cooked and the "butter" on the potato was as flavorless as the meat. Even the bread, though pillowy, was off with a slight bitter taste. The dinner salad was fine though drowning in the ok house dressing. Our server was very nice and did a fine job. The atmosphere reminded you that you were in an Old small Colorado town post boom (and not in a good way). We were astounding to see locals dining as well as having left positive reviews. People of Leadville: Quincy's does not make a good steak! Head to Buena Vista next time you eat. Locals told us the Grill was good - we chose Quincy's since we didn't want a burger or Mexican. We will forever regret that decision.previous poor reviews were responded to by the owner - short of fully comping our meal and erasing our memories of it nothing would have made this right.
Amy W — Google review
Great place for prime rib! Very simple menu, wait staff was quick and efficient. No frills, just the way I like it!
Ely J — Google review
Edit: This was our first time back after 2 years, and the food was just as great as I remember. The steak was cooked properly, the potato was soft and buttery, and the bread was a perfect palet cleanser. The steak sauce had an interesting aftertaste, but that's perhaps only a personal preference. The Shirley Temple was an excellent drink choice, and the staff were most kind. We were seated quickly, however, the waitress seemed unacquainted with the drink menu...nevertheless kind and helpful. After the meal, I excused myself to the washroom to relieve myself whenever I found that the door was locked! The restaurant only appeared to include a single sized person washroom accommodation. Sadly, I never saw this person leave the washroom...I had to relieve myself elsewhere. They could still be there? Shortly after this, and well without warning, we were surprised to find an automatic gratuity for our party of five... Apart from all this, I would still recommend trying out this steak & spirits for your spiriting needs. Previous Review (inexperienced): Amazing steak, baked potatoes, and bread!!! Was seated right away, given water and got food quickly. Nice restrooms and fun hotel feel to the restaurant. Tasted really good after climbing Mt. Elbert!!
Mr.E — Google review
Dark lit restaurant, sat in the back where my chair was pressed against a staircase. The fan light above my table, kept flickering on and off. I am pretty sure the sous vide their steaks, and then grill to finish. However, my steak definitely never saw a grill. It was chewy and the fat was not at all rendered. On a positive, Wait staff was kind and responsive!

Quiet and cozy place playing soft country/folk music. Great morning vibe and the employees were super nice. I got a cold brew and a blueberry muffin and it was fantastic. If I lived in Leadville I would visit in the morning and bring work, a book, or an art project and stay for a couple hours.

We love this little coffee shop in Leadville!!! We always stop here when we're in town going up to the Leadville fish hatchery. It's such a sweet little place and they have pastries and different things to choose from to eat. It's all freshly made!! Everybody who works here is always kind and welcoming. Their coffee is outstanding and their dark roast coffee is one of our favorites ❤️ We love to do little day trips up to Leadville and we stop here every time to get our coffee. Lots of places to sit in their shop and it's right on the main thoroughfare so you can sit outside and people watch too!

Love this place! I was visiting my son and his family near Leadville. Went to this place at least 6 times and was only there 3 days. Customer service fantastic! Such great choices and great smells. So comfortable! Coffee was delicious 😋. From the espresso to lattes and matcha drinks. Yum! The burritos were really good and big not to bad for $10. Bakery items were so good and baked daily. Thanks for being an option in such a great staple of Colorado history. Can't wait to see you again on my next visit

Great local coffee shop with amazing (and hot) coffee! Plenty of seating - albeit very busy - for workspace, and hanging with friends! Lots of food and snack options whether savory or sweet! We enjoyed a little bit of both - Quiche Lorraine and a sweet lemon poppy seed muffin. Super cozy inside with mountain vibes, and local art! Baristas were very busy but not enough to greet you with a smile! There were a couple of wood benches outside so you can enjoy your coffee while doing some people watching. Definitely a place worth stopping in for a great cup of coffee!

Great spot in downtown Leadville. We took scenic route 24 from I-70 and then looped back down via 91. Gorgeous! And half way through we had coffee & delicious treats from this coffee shop. Really good filling lunch! Thank God not vegan!! Quick service - super waitress friendly and informative!! Tasty quesadilla! Great pancakes according to my 7 year old - and great burger! Generous portions ! I love all the history of Leadville on the walls - but I’m local so…

Really sad it’s no longer vegan, but we gave this place another shot. The service was great and staff was super friendly, but the food was lackluster. The biggest disappointment was their “omelette”. It was literally just a fried egg on top of what should’ve been inside the omelette. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be back.
Kyla M — Google review
The staff was not very friendly, it took probably 30 mins for our food and unfortunately the food was not what we were expecting. I really hope it was just an off day but me and my boyfriend were very disappointed :\ plus side the coffee and bacon was good
Angela A — Google review
We came on Mother's Day, and they were extremely understaffed, though still very kind and very obviously doing the best they could. With that said, the food was terrible. The chicken and waffles were three quarters of a freezer burnt waffle and two pieces of freezer burnt chicken. The oreo waffle was a regular waffle with coo whip and oreo crumbles on it. I wouldn't reccomend eating here if you can avoid it. Again, staff was nice, but the food is really bad.
Jordan D — Google review
The food is great here. Loved the fajitas. The interior decor could use a little help but I guess it gives it character.
Chris N — Google review
We had to wait 10 minutes before someone noticed we walked in. Then, when we were seated (there were 4 of us), it took another 20 minutes before our order was taken. We had to ask for chips and salsa when it normally comes to the table. When we finally got the salsa it looked more like beef stew. We asked for salsa and was given green chili, it was to hot so then she gave us green salsa. We asked for queso, and was given cold cheese whiz. Between the salsa and chili our order was taken. After the queso we gave up and walked out.
Ashley H — Google review
The staff were friendly, unfortunately, the service was nonexistent . After getting our table and menus, we never saw our server again. After 10 minutes, we walked out.
Sally R — Google review
This place not being plant based anymore was not a problem for me who I was with. I was sad though that I couldn’t try the kombucha my hotel’s outdated guide said it used to have. My eggs Benedict was very good, glad I got it. But the hash browns that came with it weren’t seasoned or really much cooked. It was loud in the restaurant, with a child kicking and screaming on the floor and a man sitting near us whose dog kept barking when whatever affected it kept happening. Service was sporadic, we weren’t given tableware until our food had already been served and we had to ask for it. Weren’t asked about refills or if we were okay until we had been eating for a while. It wasn’t horrible, but didn’t impress.

Located at 313 Harrison Avenue in Leadville, CO, The Famous is a restaurant with a sports bar and family room ambiance. It offers ample seating including a great patio area. The menu features a variety of options such as pizza, sandwiches, salads, and craft cocktails. Visitors praise the establishment for its incredible food and top-notch atmosphere. It's described as part sports bar and part Italian bistro, making it an ideal casual spot to gather with friends or large groups.
What a cool place. This was our first time in The Famous, and we were seated at dinner time within 10 minutes. We were towards the back so it was easy to have pleasant conversation at the table with low noise level. The staff were very attentive and took our orders for drink and then later for meals quickly. We ordered a few different meals and everyone commented on how tasty theirs were. I got the fettuccine alfredo with added chicken. Loved it. The right proportion and the perfect taste. I added a little pepper and was good to go. The perfect meal the night before the Leadville Stage Race the next day.

Service was a little dodgy and one of our entrees had to be remade but food was otherwise delicious. The atmosphere is a welcome exception from most other establishments on the main strip. It offers a mix of modern swank in the main room and cozy comfort on the back patio.

Randomly stopped in here for lunch and it was my favorite meal in Leadville! Bright and open atmosphere and they did have college football playing on the projectors. The staff were great also. I ordered the chicken drums with buffalo sauce as well as the tempura fried sweet potato chips and the pole and share chicken Caesar salad where the bowl is actually their pizza dough- unique and very delicious!

Good restaurant and a worth a visit. The menu is well thought out and focuses I felt on pizza, although we tried their other dishes. Chicken Parm was good and a nice portion. Garlic shrimp was a lovely dish and well presented - very garlicky but would recommend. Caesar salad was also good and a nice portion. Although we didn’t try their other dishes pizza this time, my friends highly recommend them. Service was very good and attentive without being overbearing. Thank you Ethen. Location is great and atmosphere was fun and set in an old building with a lot of history. My only complaint was the food all came at once and was brought out by another food server. On a restaurant of this casual kind, it’s not a big issue, but I hope management take note. We did try their “Old Fashioned” and can recommend it.

Staff was super friendly, the spaghetti bolognese was AMAZING (no joke i ended up telling them how pleasantly surprised I was at just how good it was). Definitely highly highly recommend a visit. Several big tvs as well if you are going in for sports!

Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Casa Sanchez 2 is a laid-back eatery offering Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes along with margaritas in a relaxed indoor-outdoor setting. This family-owned establishment in Leadville, CO prides itself on serving up delicious, high-quality Mexican cuisine. The menu features an array of mouthwatering options including Carne Asada, Chile Colorado, seafood cocktails, burritos, and more. Visitors rave about the generous portions at reasonable prices and the attentive and friendly service.
Awesome experience. Servings are very very large. We had two margaritas that were very good and seemed like a double shot of tequila; and, after our meal, they gave us two more complementary tequila shots which they called "Mexican dessert". The Pork carnitas were the best meal. We also had a beef and chicken chimichaga. They were not fried as traditional and we thought they had too much chili powder for our liking. The chips were plentiful and fresh with 2 different salsas. We ordered dipping cheese and it came out in a large bowl. I'll be going back on my next visit. The price was very affordable.

I really enjoyed this place. The Fajita Taco Bowl I had was so good! The Michelada was amazing! They also have very smooth tequila shots. I would definitely go back.

Polite and welcoming staff, great service, and absolutely delicious food! I ordered the Carne Asada and Steak a la Chicana — both were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The fresh tortilla chips were a great touch too. Highly recommend!

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon with a party of 7. No issues being seated and we each ordered something different. Portion sizes were big and we were able to bring plenty of leftovers home. Prices are affordable and food came out rather quick.

Great variety of food. Delicious! Very nice waiter. Prompt service. I would definitely go back here next time I'm in Leadville. The complimentary shot of tequila at the end of your meal is an extremely special touch! Delicious!

Waiter was great. Good margaritas. Fajitas tasted good but the meat was so tough we couldn't eat most of it. Old historic glass covered cistern under the floor in the back room....interesting.

Lifelong Texan passing through Colorado. Really great stop for Mexican food. The Mexican enchilada plate is amazing. Had to share because of the size. Salsa and queso blanco was spot on. Santiago was very cool to talk to. Casa Sanchez is well worth a try.

This was such a a great find!! Absolutely fresh and delicious food, super clean place and great service! Portions are huge! We ordered fajitas for two and could have easily feed three or four!! Wonderful experience!

Sichuan restaurant
Szechuan Taste II offers a Chicken Lo Main Lunch Special that is reasonably priced and satisfying. The portion size is generous, and the food is well-prepared, neither too dry nor overly moist. While it could benefit from a touch more seasoning or soy sauce, overall it's a good meal for the price. This to-go option makes it convenient for those on the move, and despite this being a first visit, there's an interest in returning to explore other menu items.
We came here during covid mask season and had a delicious meal. Their staff was very attentive and everything was cooked perfectly. we loved it so much, we dropped in again a few weeks later. Nice $15 Prix fixe menu.

I’ll make this short and to the point. Albeit, a busy time for this town and we had a hard time finding a place that could seat us or did not have a 2 hour wait. This place had one table seated so we took a chance. It’s Chinese right? Rice, noodles and dumplings. We know what we’re in for. Might be the worst meal we’ve ever had, and we’ve had some bad ones before. This food was not edible. Pics will show a noodle soup my son ordered featuring a big wad of paper we found in it and the noodles were mush. The red curry also pictured. Not red. Brown, because it featured big chunks of curry powder that appeared to have been stirred in just before serving. Pointed all this out to the server and she just said she’d offer us a discount. We paid and tipped but left hungry. Do yourself a favor and go to the local grocery store and get something to cook at your Airbnb.
Kristy O — Google review
This restaurant was our stop after the train ride. We only visited once and the food was okay, typical of a Chinese restaurant. We. Got in quickly and served pretty soon. It was a little understaffed but expect that is typical of a tourist town in a remote area which was having a big race event and the town was crowded.
Elaine M — Google review
Expensive food was bad. Didn't fill entire food box for all meals ordered, chicken was chewy and tasted like reheated from day before. Photos are veg egg rolls and all the lettuce put at the bottom of my sesame chicken. I have worked at multiple Chinese restaurants and there is no excuse for this. Meal for two costs $40.
Delaney C — Google review
Grandma was rude and graph. The food was enough for the price, sort of but not once you add in the Covid surcharge of a dollar and a half per dish. You will not get any soup or eggroll with your entrée. If you ask her that she will upsell you five bucks and pointto a limited menu where that is available. The pictures pretty much say at all. The place was empty. For less money you can go a couple feet away and eat at Casa Sanchez. Better value, pretty good Mexican food. By the way Casa Sanchez is really fast. That Chinese restaurant is on a death spiral. They give you less food and less value they get fewer customers and on and on till they’re gone. The door the men’s restroom doesn’t close. Men’s restroom is disgusting. Like the other reviewer wrote, if you really want Chinese just go to that place in Frisco. I think the people that open that restaurant or the wrong line of business because they are not people people.
G M — Google review
As seen in attached picture, I've eaten half of the Chicken Lo Main Lunch Special. For a meal priced less than $10, I got what I expected and paid for. I didn't get a drink, but the food was good. Not dry or overly moist, could have used a little more seasoning or soy sauce (then again I'm no Chinese cook), but I'm happy with what I got. As a first experience, I'll like to come back to try something else. I ordered to-go (take out, whatever), since I was just passing through and had somewhere to be later on. Waited about 10 minutes (maybe less) for the food to come out; 10/10 service, food, and wait time. Will try to dine-in next time I pass through Leadville.
Evelyn D — Google review
We were hungry and walking around Leadville when my husband said “ let’s do that Chinese spot”, and immediately a woman sitting nearby said “ Don’t do it.” We weren’t sure if she was talking to us, so proceeded on. Huge, monumental mistake! First of all, the empty restaurant had one older woman blaring her tv show on her phone while also playing her equally unpleasant radio station across the room. We remained positive. We ordered 3 entrees and 2 appetizers (for 2 adults and 3 children). Each entree was equivalent to about one cup of food- no joke. The small bbq pork buns (6) appetizer arrived after we finished that, and we were still quite hungry after those were finished as well. Then the bill… The charges for the food were so over the top unreasonable, and another “service charge” to add insult to injury!! We asked what it was for, and she barked and pointed “ Sign in other room!” Whatever… Never Ever Again will we eat anywhere without reading reviews first! Horrible!! The food was a far cry from fresh also, so I guess we should be thankful it didn’t ruin the remainder of our vacation.

Main dishes may be hit or miss. However, the small plates are fantastic. We had dumplings, fried tofu, and bbq buns. Really good flavors.

Mineral 1886 is a charming restaurant and hotel with an updated interior that seamlessly blends modern design with historic charm. The cozy lobby sets the tone for a pleasant dining experience, although there might be some waiting time before being seated. The menu offers a variety of delicious options such as chicken and waffles, build your own omelet, steak and eggs, accompanied by sides like donuts and fruit.
Eggs Benedict were so good, Chicken Sandwich was hot and tender. The English muffins are 10/10. My only critique hash browns. Next time, I'll ask for them a tad bit crispier. Still, five stars for a breakfast that almost made me a morning person!
Jordan E — Google review
The atmosphere was great. The service and food were entirely lacking. We started with chicken wings and fried Brussels. The wings were terribly overcooked and dry, and the sausage in the fried Brussels was also overcooked. The Brussels themselves were tasty. I ordered a Mineral salad, which arrived with the entree. The salad itself was just okay—there was not much flavor. Entrees: Roasted Half Chicken: It was extremely overcooked and dry. My 12-year-old son likened it to the turkey from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It had no flavor whatsoever. Scottish Salmon: It was also terribly overcooked. The sauce and potatoes were good and had a nice flavor, but the salmon itself was bland and very dry. Summary: I had very high hopes for this restaurant. When I booked my trip to Leadville, I was excited to see the menu and read the reviews for Mineral 1886. I immediately made a reservation and was looking forward to a high-quality meal after a long day on the ski slopes. My 12-year-old son and I were both extremely disappointed with the dining experience. The only part of our meals that wasn't overcooked was the potatoes. The service was also quite lacking. Our server was very standoffish. We had to wait quite a long time for drink refills, sat with dirty appetizer plates on the table for the duration of our meal, and my salad arrived at the same time as my entrée. We decided not to order any desserts after the quality of the salad, appetizers, and entrees was so disappointing.
Ed W — Google review
I ordered two full-size salads to go and was really disappointed. Both salads were the size of what looked like a half order, and definitely not worth the $20 price tag. On top of that, the “honeycrisp apples” were just tiny, freezer-dried pieces instead of fresh slices. Overall, the quality didn’t match the description or the cost.
Joshua P — Google review
The food for price was amazing especially since the food tasted amazing! The place was packed when I arrived so we had to sit at the bar area. I can't accurately rate the service due to this but we did eventually get someone to wait the table we were at which I was thankful for.

The Miner 100 is like a choose your own skillet. Really good hash browns with whatever you choose for toppings. Coffee served in small clear glasses. I was surprised with the Tumeric Sunset drink. The Bloody Mary was well made, not too spicy.

The Eggs Benedict is absolutely delicious. Although there was bacon instead of traditional Canadian bacon, it was an absolute delight. As you can see from the video the eggs were cooked perfectly. Amazing service, quiet atmosphere.
Shawna K — Google review
Our group of 6 made an impromptu stop here for weekend lunch. We got a table right away. The venue itself is gorgeous. The food was great. The service was unfortunately lacking. Food items forgotten (but corrected), no offer for refills until it was too late. I ordered biscuits and gravy which was wonderful. Other hits at the table were fish & chips, the burger, hot chicken sandwich, and avocado toast. We'd definitely go back.

I got a bagel sandwich from the take away counter and was extremely disappointed. It did not have the texture of a bagel and very little toppings. I decided to toss it and get something somewhere else. Beautiful lounge setting though.

The Leadville Railroad offers a scenic 2-hour train ride through the Arkansas River Valley forest, showcasing Colorado's highest peaks. The historic town of Leadville boasts Victorian architecture and a local, down-to-earth vibe. The train departs from a century-old depot and travels alongside the Arkansas River, providing views of Mt. Elbert. Depending on the season, passengers can enjoy wildflowers, fall foliage, or holiday lights during their journey.
This was a fantastic experience. The conductor did such a great job giving information about the area and pointing out places of interest. The scenery was incredible as the fall leaves were at their peak. I would recommend this ride to everyone.

Buy tickets at the station. It's $59 in Leadville and $65 online. Fun ride. I don't know if it was worth $60, but I'm glad I went, so I guess it is worth it. Good views down the mountain. There's a stop at an old water tower, which is a little boring. The actual train was the highlight for me. They've got a four stall bathroom on board! And a grill! The tour guide was great. They have a speaker system set up throughout the cars and he gives info on the sights and history. They let people walk through the conductor's cab during the water tower stop.

This is a pretty cool thing to do. It takes about two and a half hours but you get to go on a nice train ride and the announcer is very well informed on everything about the town and surrounding areas. The seats are pretty comfortable which is nice. The staff on the train was very friendly and willing to help with anything you needed. You learn a lot of factual things on the strain right also. Lots of very cool scenery on this trip

What a beautiful train ride. Would diffenitly come back near the fall color change, but it was beautiful nonetheless. If you love train rides, this is a must do if you're in the area. Open seating was $59.00 per adult..$89.00 for assigned car seating. They had snacks / burgers / drinks on board. 2.5 hour ride. Outside car was PERFECT at about 55°. Two time slots of 10am & 2pm. Dog friendly. Lots of families on board. Reserved tickets on 24 hours in advance & had my whole hiking group of 8 get on. So, plenty of space.

Love love love! My son has a love of trains, and so while we have taken trains, in other states, we’ve never taken our hometown train! Yesterday we went up in the mountains and saw all the beautiful trees and listen to a wonderful diatribe by the conductor! Totally loved our two hours on this train. Thank you so much for making my son’s Sunday a great day.

Recently enjoyed a train ride on a sunny October day to celebrate our 21st anniversary (we rode it on our honeymoon). This adventure is worth every penny, but bring your coat and gloves! We highly encourage the upgrade to a lounge car in chilly weather but be sure to check out the concession care even though you have an attendant. Great photos and other surprises to explore. The bathrooms are an adventure unto themselves, so be prepared for a rustic experience in that part of the train.
C H — Google review
This train is absolutely amazing! As a plus size person I highly recommend! The isles between the seats are really wide the door and the stairs to get in and out of the cars are also nice and wide. We took our two dogs with us and appreciate the fact that dogs are allowed to enjoy such a fun activity! The pretzels 🥨 are super good as well! The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable! I can not say enough good things about this train!! 🚂
Becka E — Google review
One of the best railroad experiences in Colorado! We rode the train this week (last week of August) and the Aspens are already beginning to change, if you're reading this and planning the fall tour, y'all are in for treat! The drive to Leadville from Denver is around 2 hours but beautiful the entire way, the town of Leadville is really really cool, not all blown up and commercialized like Golden. Beautiful brick buildings etc. Anyway, back to the train... Best views are facing away from the station (left side). The covered car with windows can be a bit loud from rattling. If it's not raining (it rained before we boarded and dang you wouldn't believe how fast the crew worked to dry seats!), sit in the outside car or the covered car with no windows. Beautiful views and history the entire way. On the way down try and get closer to the engine...the diesel gets caught in the last car going downhill and it's a bit rough. Regardless, the staff is great and friendly and of all the railroads we did this one definitely has a special spot. We look forward to returning some day.

Outdoor clothing and equipment shop
Melanzana Outdoor Clothing is a unique outdoor clothing shop located in downtown Leadville, Colorado. The store is popular among thru-hikers who often stop by to stock up on handmade outdoor gear before continuing their journey. One of the most sought-after items at Melanzana is the microgrid hoodie, also known as the Melly Hoodie, which is loved for its moisture-wicking and lightweight properties.
I didn’t have an appointment when I visited so I can’t speak to that process, but I had a great experience at Melanzana. I went right when they opened in the morning and was able to try on the pullovers they had in overflow. Not many color options if you don’t make an appointment, and you have to make one super in advance, but I thinks it’s well worth it. Jackets are really good quality and just such a unique thing to own. I will definitely be returning to buy another!
Emma S — Google review
Great experience on my first visit to Melanzana. Did not have an appointment, but the enthusiastic and friendly staff let me have a look around, and I ended buying a hoodie and hat from the overflow (non-appointment) section. Definitely recommend trying to book an appointment if you can for larger selection. I love the quality and comfort of the pieces I bought!

We’ve been planning a road trip through Colorado from Washington state and decided to check out Leadville’s scenery. Figured since we’ll be passing through, let’s check out Melanzana! Making an appointment in advance was *key* to access their entire selection and made the shopping experience more relaxed and enjoyable. My partner was looking for a solid red hoodie in his size but they didn’t have one on the rack, so he asked and lo-and-behold they had the exact one he wanted already made in their factory! We had 3 people in our party and managed to book 2 appts so we could all grab something we liked. We asked if any same day appointment openings happened so our friend could get more than 1 item and to our luck, they did! Super friendly staff. Get some pizza at High Mountain Pies afterward! I’m happy we stopped in town!

A Colorado classic! Worth the drive from surrounding areas when you are up camping. Check for cancelations on appointments for some walk in times it’s pretty available. The service is great and the products are historic for a reason. I’ll stop by every time I’m running through.

I had my first experience shopping at this local Colorado Made store full of great quality items. Iv lived in the Colorado Springs area for about 3 years now and I have heard of this local spot by other Coloradans that I talk with. They all love their Melly and I have Always wanted the Micro V2 fleece hoodie. I have made and canceled appointments in the past because of the times of the year I did not feel comfortable driving up to 10,200 ft above sea level. I had planned a trip to Leadville in the end of September 27th 2025. I was really wanting to get an appointment booked for this weekend. I did have to stalk the website to find a canceled appointment. Luckily one day I was checking every 30 mins on their appointment only calendar and there was a cancelation from 12:30pm-1pm. I snatched that up so quickly and I was so glad I was able to book this appointment! I checked 2 weeks before my appointment was booked. I was so stoked and excited to be able to shop the North side today. I ended up buying 2 Micro V2 fleece hoodies. You can only buy 2 items at a time. I bought a women’s size M and a L. The medium fits a little tighter but not skin tight. The Large is a little loose and fits baggy but not over sized by any means. I had a great first time experience and Blake checked me out when I was ready to buy. I do like that this company is local to Colorado and how it keeps its product in stock and in demand for those who make an appointment. My best advice is to be hopeful, patient and persistent to get an appointment sooner than 8-10 months out. Check their calendar frequently if your able to during the day. Don’t give up hope, it is possible to get an appointment in before the 9 months out! I did! loved my first experience here and I will be back after 6 months passes. Thank you Melanzana staff and you now have a life long customer. Sincerely, Julie.
Julie B — Google review
I love my Melly, we live in Missouri and plan our trips to Colorado around our Melanzana appointment.(it’s turned into an annual pilgrimage) Does it suck having to book an appointment? Kinda but it’s also nice knowing that they are most likely going to have what you want in stock. Love the idea of it being a fair system for people like us who are coming from so far away, Keep on keeping on you guys rock!
Travis R — Google review
I bought this sweater four years ago and it still looks great. It’s soft, durable, and works well for outdoor wear. The fabric holds up without stretching out or wearing thin. When I visited the shop, the sweaters were being made on-site right there behind the counter. It felt straightforward and genuine. No frills, just solid craftsmanship. It gets a lot of compliments from other Melly heads on the trail. There’s many reason why this sweater is popular, but it actually deserves the reputation. 10/10 would recommend.

Place is cool enough. 15 dollars for entry is a little more than I wanted to pay however if you are into mining it’s probably a steel. (See what I did there) lots of things were out of order like the bathrooms, the elevator and some displays. If you’re not into mining it’s still a pretty neat place to check out. The young lady at the front desk was nice so that is good to see.

Found this breakfast/lunch place on our visit to Leadville. You order (and pay) at the counter and then they bring your good out to you. The #1 Bagel Sammie had crunchy bacon, a big slice of cheddar and a fried runny egg on a plain or everything bagel - it was probably the best breakfast bagel I’ve ever had!! My friend had the #5 Bagel Sammie with the Locks & cream cheese on a gluten free bagel and she loved it. The outdoor patio was relaxing and the service was friendly and timely. I noticed they have a No Pets sign on their outdoor patio but I saw at least 4 dogs with their owners enjoying the patio so I guess it’s ok to bring your dogs as long as they are leashed. The atmosphere on the patio was much more inviting than the inside. I would go here again to eat breakfast or lunch!

I needed a birthday cake for my daughter while on vacation, normally they ask for a weeks notice. Despite not making this lead-time, the owner delivered a beautiful, yummy, 4-layer cake in 2 days! The restaurant has garnered praise for its mountain-modern ambiance and ever-changing menu, drawing regulars who appreciate the opportunity to try something new each month. Owned by the family of Eric and Christine, with their three kids pitching in, Treeline Kitchen prioritizes health, sustainability, and community engagement.
Came in at 3:30 on the dot during the skijorring competition. We were able to get a seat at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. Food was great. The curry had some odd sides that were weird together but individually they were excellent. Everyone in my party loved their meals and cornbread was a great app to share.

This was such a great stop on our way to Aspen. We were looking for something quick, and a food truck was closed. The service was very quick even though the fried chicken was obviously homemade. And there were some fun looking cocktails as well. The homemade fries, AKA potatoes, were also delicious. The atmosphere is really cool, with an original brick wall and vaulted wood ceilings. The light fixtures were neat and the bar was cool.

Great Atmosphere throughout the whole building! Entrees heavily weighted to meat, with some variability in portion size. Tasty desserts, but again portion size varies ( carrot cake seemed small blueberry crisp large). Excellent offering of cocktails. N/A cocktails are very rrasonably priced. Well worth a meal when you are in the area!

The food was great and service was generally fine. Unfortunately on our visit the choice to sit on the rooftop meant that we had to go downstair to place your orders at the bar. This made things a little confusing and inconvenient but we warned in advance and we enjoyed our time. The views are also not bad up there.

First, and foremost, the owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and care about their service, quality, and experience. It felt like we tried everything on the menu and not only was it delicious, but our service was fantastic. Our server Heidi was remarkable. On her toes, knowledgeable about the menu, and an overall fantastic server. We commented that she set a clear example that the team is trained well and dialed. Such a positive experience. Thanks Treeline!!

Treeline was great! Tasty foods, great service and a rustic building were all part of what this place has to offer. Fire pit out front and a roof top area. If in the area, I would visit again.
Douglas H — Google review
The ability to cook meat is questionable but they're vegetables and drinks are delicious. The lamp pasta that they were raving about was overcooked and straight up disappointing. And the garlic cheesy bread although it was delicious tasted like Rosemary cheesy bread and not garlic cheesy bread but it was still delicious so I'll give points to that. And our service even though we had two waiters was flat out disappointing the only time we saw them what is when they took us our food and drinks and three times when we tried waving them down to express our concerns on the food they ignored us.
Dani M — Google review
My dinner guests and I went to Treeline for dinner today. The drinks were great. The vegetables were great. The asparagus, the mushrooms, and the cream spinach were delicious. But every dish with meat is subpar. My steak was NOT medium rare it was medium well done. My dinner guests' lamb pasta was overcooked pasta with unseasoned lamb. The herb chicken was unseasoned and disappointing. They had water on our table that had just been sitting there for who knows how long. I poured water into my glass and found a bug in it. One of my dinner guests had to give the lamb pasta back to the kitchen and asked for a strawberry salad instead. But I had to call for my server multiple times. They saw me and only turned away instead of approaching me. We had to ask another waiter to find our servers so we could get a different item from the pasta for her. The strawberry salad had either completely burnt bacon pieces or almost raw bacon. When we spoke to the server about the bacon, she responded "some chewy, some crunchy for you!" Note: the salts and sugars at the bar were uncovered and sitting there. Unsafe, unsanitary, and made the salt/sugar less flavorful.

Two Mile Brewing Co, located at America's highest brewery, is a no-frills converted gas station brewery that offers a variety of rotating beers. The Leadville Lager and Backside Blond are popular choices for out-of-towners, while other higher ABV options may surprise those not acclimated to the altitude. The brewery embraces its identity with white-walled space adorned with one-star reviews and humorous signs. It's a local haunt where they make beer for friends and strangers alike.
Great, well-brewed, unpretentious beer. Fantastic soup. Friendly and knowledgeable bartender. Cool spot in an old historic converted gas station. Terrific prices. Mountain views on the patio. What's not to like? A very worthy stop if you're headed through Leadville!
David W — Google review
Since the only reviews I saw mentioned them not being dog friendly at all, they have old picnic tables separated by a fence that is dog friendly. As haphazard as it is, always nice to have a dog friendly spot so gives a star bump in the rating. I won't comment on the beer since I didn't find anything I personally liked. View from the patio is solid. Edit in response to owners comment asking how the beer was... well since you asked, the beer sucked lol. Was trying to be nice.
SiouxFalls T — Google review
I'm not 100% sure, but I think people who give Two Mile Brewing a 1-star review, just want to have their review posted on the wall. We visited on a lovely September afternoon with our kiddos. We just came to town to pick up some Melly's. Yes, only about half of the food menu was available, and it wasn't amazing food. But the food we had was decent and the beer was great. The view is stellar and we had amazing service. The bartendar was friendly, super cool to our kids, and attentive to us and every other customer there. There were several other people there and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We'll definitely visit again next time we're in Leadville!
Nicci A — Google review
Worst brewery ever. Extremely dog unfriendly and bad beer. There's a patio, but dogs are not allowed. Bartender came out to the patio all angry, like how dare we bring our dogs to the patio to check out the menu. He pointed us to some beat-up picnic tables next to the main road a large distance from the patio. We couldn't even leave the dogs on the patio to go in to order beer. Never seen a brewery so dog unfriendly. Beer sucked too to say the least. Bad atmosphere - there was nobody there on a weekend. Avoid it like a plague.

Beer 4/10 Service 0/10 Just head on into the Manhattan bar, timberline, silver dollar saloon anywhere else. Heck go to Safeway get a six pack and go to any amazing overlook instead. Edit: Came with someone who also agreed with me. We came for the 2 mile and some good beers. Very lackluster but we have amazing breweries in Richmond,VA so maybe spoiled. However every other brewery in Colorado we went to besides this one was 👌🏻 Such a unique town wish this place embraced the collective cool the rest of the town has.
Melissa R — Google review
If you’re looking for good beer and a welcoming environment, skip this place. The brewery itself is uninspired, and the beer tastes more like a homebrew experiment gone wrong than anything worth paying for. But what really ruins the experience is the owner. Instead of being the face of hospitality, they act rude, dismissive, and downright childish toward customers and even their own staff. It feels less like a community brewery and more like being stuck in a bad high school drama run by someone who never grew up. Maybe hire someone to be the face and keep the ginger beard behind closed doors? Just a thought
Megan M — Google review
I tried to come here specifically because of the 1-star reviews (non-beer drinkers tend to judge people harsher than seasoned veterans do), and to say I've had a beer and the highest brewery. Well, even though their Google page, website, and Facebook page all say they were open, there was nobody around. Decided to go to silver dollar and came back 1.5 hours after their open time. Still nobody. In other news, I think the names of their beers are fantastic, and it reminds me of the restaurant Dick's Last Resort where they give you dunce caps and make fun of you - so fun. Hopefully I'll get a chance to come back and give an actual review of everything.

Bar
The Manhattan Bar, located in Leadville, Colorado, is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The bar offers a friendly atmosphere where patrons can enjoy cold drinks, watch sports games, play darts or pool, and mingle with the locals known as 'Leadvillains.' Despite being busy at times, the staff provides prompt and friendly service. While the whiskey and bourbon options are currently limited, there are plans to expand the selection.
On operations as a bar for like 80 years it is pretty much what you expect. This seemed at the moment a very local hometown type of bar with some really friendly people. I wouldn’t suggest many mixed drinks or anything besides a beer. This place did seem cool if you’re looking for more of a honkeytonk style sports bar with some really cool history in the building.

Stopped in here on my way through on a Thursday afternoon for a beer. This is a homey quaint dive bar with great service and a nice pool table. Worth stopping in if you are thirsty and want to belly up to a bar

Another super old bar in Leadville, here on a Saturday afternoon and obvious place is full of locals. They have a pool table in the back and a few games like darts. Few beers on tap and snack items for purchase. Also gift items like branded shirts. Prompt friendly service and another great dose of local Leadville life.

A locals bar for sure, but the vibe was super relaxed. Budweiser is $2.50, this is the place to kick your feet up after a long hike or float down the river in the nearby area. Staff was super great!

Fast food restaurant
In general, it was a positive experience at Wild Bill's Restaurant, particularly because we were famished after a lengthy hike. The hamburgers were delicious, even though the patty itself reflected more of a lower-priced supermarket/fast food quality. However, this was compensated by the other ingredients used, especially the onion. We sampled both regular and gluten-free burgers and found that the gluten-free bun was of excellent quality and equally tasty. The fries also met our expectations in terms of flavor and texture.
Yummy burger, delicious green chile, and the twist ice cream cone hits the spot after a long hike up a big ol rock. They were busy when we went at about 5 on a Friday which was definitely a good sign. Will return next time I go bag some 14ers.
Brandi H — Google review
These burgers are seriously good! The bun is toasted to perfection and the balance between the patty and the toppings is great! The French fries are the best! They are crispy and chewy and given in a generous heap! The ice cream and blizzard like milkshakes looked delicious too.

The food was wonderful! We had the burgers and fries as we were passing by for lunch and they were great. The ladies that run the front counter were so nice. The ice cream looked really good but we were too full to try it. The views of the mountains were spectacular. Would highly recommend them!

The fries were good, but the burger.... absolutely crazy 4.4 with 600+ reviews for a 1/4 lb frozen patty.felt like I was back at the little league park. It was the most average burger I have ever had. The soda machine was left with ice overflow. Making it difficult to even get a drink. Participation trophy giving this place a 5 stars

Stopped in here for a quick bite after coming from Denver just to go to Melanzana. Immediately noticed a delicious smell and instantly knew I was in for a treat. Ordered a chicken fried steak sandwich with all the fixins and, after looking over the incredible selection of flavors, decided on a peanut butter & marshmallow milkshake. I was blown away and will come back just to have this same meal again. The woman who greeted us and took our order was very sweet and clearly a hard worker. Great service. Great food. Food came fast. Everything tasted fresh. 11/10

Sandwich shop
Subway is a popular counter-serve chain known for its customizable sandwiches and salads, offering options for health-conscious diners. It's also accommodating to those with gluten intolerance, providing the option to enjoy their fillings without the bread. While some caution against it for celiacs due to potential cross-contamination, others praise specific locations for their exceptional service and friendly staff. Customers have highlighted the welcoming and upbeat atmosphere at certain Subways, commending employees for their hard work and positive attitudes.
I met the owner Dixie a few weeks ago and promised her that I would come in and try her subway! My seven-year-old Jake keeps begging me to go in there and eat so he went in and had the most delicious wonderful sandwich for which we are very grateful!
Hoss L — Google review
Hit or miss on who cares as others have said, sometimes it's delicious, other times it almost appears to be intentionally doused with sauce and gross, or they skimp you on veggies, or it's just gross in general. Additionally, their oven has been broken for weeks, what kind of subway can't toast a sub?? Not the worst fast food in town, but close. Place has gotten way worse since I've been here, don't go. Clown owners.
Peter R — Google review

I was hoping it was a one time thing seeing the workers not wash their hands and change gloves between orders but it has happened everytime I go back and when I ask them to change gloves, they wont wash their hands, so theyre grabbing gloves with dirty hands. I get treated like im being a pain if I ask them to change gloves. People have immune disorders and can get sick from food contamination, especially if youre checking people out, touching a screen, then go and prepare the next person's food with the same gloves you just touched the screen with. Using your knuckle on the screen doesnt keep your gloves clean, they still need to be changed. I like subway and want to be able to eat here, I just want clean gloves, is that really too much of a pain to ask for? Shouldn't that be the standard?
Mykeala T — Google review
I have to gluten-free for the last 7 years and haven't been to a Subway during this time. I was hungry and thought I'd request everything that's in a sub to be packed up so I could eat it and they accommodated me. So no bread. I did not have any problems. It's nice to know that I can go to Subway to grab something to eat that is gluten-free. I have a severe intolerance to gluten so I'm not celiac so I don't recommend going here if you are celiac. Could have cross-contamination FYI
Todd M — Google review
Hit or miss. Online order isn't ready most of the time, bread is usually stale and there's a worker standing in the corner right now on her phone not doing anything. Go in back or outside when you're on break and start training the person in front to handle orders on her own.

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Ski Cooper. Not quite as popular as National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, but still highly rated among many travelers. Ski Cooper is a family-friendly ski area that has been in operation for 70 years. It features five lifts that cater to beginner and intermediate skiers, with wide runs that offer plenty of space even on busy days. The east side of the mountain offers playful runs beyond the groomers, while the ski staff is known for its friendliness and helpfulness. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, offering a hassle-free experience for visitors.
About 40 minutes past Copper and well worth it. I am a new skier and still felt like I could challenge myself here. It was so much fun. Went on a Monday, there wasn’t too many people and it was $45 lift tickets. It was a great deal. Views are amazing!!!! Stopped in the pub inside, food was good and service was quick!

Our experience at this resort was truly exceptional. The breathtaking mountains provided a fantastic backdrop, and the ski and snowboard school exceeded our expectations, with outstanding instructors who were both skilled and engaging. However, what truly distinguished our visit were the dedicated employees who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and safety. When my son had a minor fall on the mountain, Olivia in rentals took the time to listen to my mother’s concerns and addressed them with great care. Her thoughtful assistance made a significant difference. Additionally, Winter from first aid was incredibly patient and understanding, providing excellent care to both my 5-year-old and myself. We are already looking forward to returning for another memorable experience!

Absolutely love Ski Cooper!!!! I love smaller resorts- less crowded with a family feel. I went on Saturday thinking it would be busy. There was quite a crowd, but not bad at all. I love the runs- perfect for beginners. I love that with the main ski lift you can already access greens, blues, and a few blacks without going any further, if you don't want to. My only take away is I wish they had a bigger or another retail store. Other than that, another favorite resort of mine!

My favorite place to ski!!! I’ve been to a few mountains, but always want to come back to Ski Cooper. My husband and I have been going here for 15 years now. We did take a big break since Covid and having a baby, but the renovations are amazing! The staff is always the best! The most friendliest people. We love ski cooper ❤️❄️
Angela R — Google review
I have visited many places to ski, but none compare to Ski Cooper. The warmth and professionalism of their team make the experience truly exceptional. Some stand out more than others, but they all share an impressive knowledge of skiing, as if they were born on skis. If you’re looking to improve your skills, Bradley is outstanding. Additionally, the rental equipment comes from top brands and offers impeccable performance. Lilly and McKenzie, true experts, will guide you in choosing the best option. The facilities are top-notch: the slopes are always in perfect condition, well-maintained, and equipped with optimal safety measures, ensuring the best experience for those who want to ski in an environment of excellence.
Adri O — Google review
Should put a one-star review to scare people away from this beautiful place to avoid it getting over crowded :). Absolutely stunning place, affordable, for all levels of skiiers, and best of all - no snow canons. But be aware, it is in 11,000 feet elevation, so prepare for altitude sickness (especially if you come from coastal levels), and for rather cold weather (we had -15F or -26C one morning there). Last warning - be careful with the Mullet wine in the Ridgeview cafe :)
Carsten F — Google review
We took it family here to ski and snowboard Christmas week and we loved it! This was it first time skiing and boarding so we took lessons from the ski school. Our ski instructor, Larry, was awesome and very patient with us! Our daughter’s snowboard instructor was also amazing! We didn’t make it off the Family Ski Slope but we had a blast. By the end of the day, we had all gained a lot of confidence. Every employee we encountered here was very nice and welcoming. We rented all our gear from Cooper and for folks who don’t know anything it was fine. This is a very unpretentious ski resort, it was not very crowded, and it was easy to get around. We are lunch at the cafeteria and it was pretty good. Our only critique is there aren’t any places to sit and take a break except in the lunch and bar areas.
Mike L — Google review
What an amazing ski resort!!! I've been all over CO. and I always see rude employees... NOT at Ski Cooper!!! The staff was super friendly, very patient and kind!!! What a spectacular venue, family friendly, full of beginner and intermediate runs, but with those double blacks as well to satisfy the seasoned skiers/snowboarders! Everything about the place was chill, not even 1 person on the slopes was angry and yelling about lines, because everyone was very respectful to everyone else!!! Of course, there's a taproom and it's very quaint but such a cool vibe inside!!!! I highly recommend taking your family here!

We went ziplining yesterday here and had amazing guides and a wonderful experience. The views were beautiful and it was ziplining from one part of the mountain to the other. I highly recommend this place!

We had the absolute best time at **Top of the Rockies Zip Line** yesterday! From start to finish, this two-hour adventure was nothing short of spectacular. Our guides, **Peter and Shoney**, were outstanding—full of great stories, fun facts, and a warm, welcoming energy that made the experience even more enjoyable. They kept things safe, professional, and entertaining the whole way through. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, and the **mountain views were breathtaking**. Flying high above the golden **aspen trees shimmering in the sunshine** was simply magical—the kind of sight that will stick with us forever. Soaring over the ridgelines with that crisp mountain air rushing past was truly **exhilarating**. This isn’t just a zip line ride—it’s an experience. Between the stunning vistas, the beauty of the aspens, the smooth ride, and the energy of our guides, it’s something I’d recommend to anyone looking for adventure in Colorado. If you’re even thinking about booking—do it. You won’t regret it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an incredible experience! The day was absolutely gorgeous, and the team at Top of the Rockies Zipline made it even better. They were not only professional but genuinely great humans—friendly, caring, and attentive. They took the time to get to know us, made sure we were safe, and created a fun, memorable adventure high up in the trees and mountains. The views were breathtaking, the ziplines were awesome, and the overall vibe was pure joy. Our bonus daughter was nervous at first, but the team’s calm, encouraging energy helped her feel completely comfortable. She ended up loving it—and so did we! Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure in Colorado!

Incredible day, zipping down the mountain with our three guides. They were professional, safe, but also fun and humorous. Their whole goal was to ensure we had a great experience.

We scheduled this zip line tour on our last day in Colorado, 8/25. We arrived in the pouring rain and 41degree temps. Our guide, Leland, was very reassuring that he believed the weather would break. He applied no pressure that we had to go if we weren’t comfortable. Thankfully the skies cleared and we had a beautiful day! Our group was small—only 5 of us—so we got a lot of time to appreciate the views and scenery. This was our first experience zip lining and it was fantastic! We felt safe at all times and the guides were engaging and informative as well as reassuring. Highly recommend!

This was definitely the highlight of our visit to charming Leadville and we had an absolute blast! Leland and Mario were so professional, friendly and eased my nervousness at the beginning. They were knowledgeable, fun and safety conscious. They made our experience the best with such beautiful views and history. We highly recommend to anyone even remotely considering this awesome experience!!

An amazing experience! Six fantastic zip lines over beautiful scenery. The staff was really great and I felt very safe and comfortable. I highly recommend Top of the Rockies Zip Line and I would definitely do this again! Thank you for an awesome time!

This experience was SO fun and a nice touch to our Colorado road trip adventure! The three people working here were knowledgeable about the area and told us stories about how this zip line came to be too. They were also very helpful and kind and we felt 100% comfortable with the safety of this experience. This is because each of the 6 zip lines had two cables with very big, strong carabiners and the employees were thorough and careful. The Humvee ride to the top and the very small hikes between each zip line were enjoyable as well. Would do this again with these folks for sure!

Coffee shop
Zero Day Coffee & MTN Equipment is a unique coffee, gear, and wine shop located at 10,172 feet above sea level in Leadville, CO. Housed in a converted Victorian house, it was started by thru-hikers and has become a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere makes it the perfect place to enjoy delicious coffee like the cubano, chai, or lattes.
Super super cool coffee shop, supposedly the highest coffee shop in the lower 48!! Coffee was awesome, service was great, and the aesthetic inside was very mountains + plants vibes. It’s pretty small so not a ton of seating but they have some chairs outside and a little back room that has some mountain gear related stuff!
Emma S — Google review
We were driving through and asked a gentlemen where the best spot for coffee was in town, he said the little yellow house past the alley. We are so glad we found this spot. So welcoming and lovely. The spicy mocha latte was one of the best I’ve had, the maple latte was also very tasty. The star of the stop is Bo Jackson, the coonhound on the chair. We also love the pay it forward wall, where we left one as well, to spread a little love in this world. This stop was good for the soul and a heartwarming latte.

If you’re reading this you’re probably looking for a good coffee shop. Here’s my 2 cents. This is not a good coffee shop this is a GREAT coffee shop. During my visit to this awesome city I patronized several food and drink establishments. Zero day Coffee is undoubtedly my favorite. If you enjoy meeting friendly people, drinking delicious coffee in a chill space with a welcoming vibe check this place out. The cubano, chai, and lattes are spot on. They even have wine nights on the weekends. Plus it’s also a gear shop with many quality products. The baristas Vanessa and Groucho as well as Avery the owner are a pleasure to meet. One visit and I guarantee you’ll be back.

This dude's coffee was just phenomenal. The proprietor was also traveled and had visited the town we were traveling from, so we had a pretty cool conversation about the AT. all in all, it was a wholesome and fulfilling experience. If you're going to Leadville, you should definitely make Zero Day coffee a must-see location.

Everything about this coffee shop is amazing! The atmosphere, the service, the coffee and matcha :-)))! They have tons of syrups, most of them house made I believe and a great indoor area. Cannot recommend highly enough

The Tabor Opera House, located in Leadville, is a restored 1879 stone and brick building that hosts seasonal concerts and community events. It has an 880-seat theater where visitors can explore the backstage, dressing rooms, and attend musical or theater performances. The opera house has a rich history of hosting various cultural events such as the Ziegfeld Follies, the Metropolitan Opera, as well as welcoming notable figures like Jack Dempsey and Harry Houdini.
I recently took the guided tour and really enjoyed everything about it. I got to meet three of the docents and they were all friendly and welcoming. They love the history of the building and enjoy sharing their knowledge. I had my little dog with me and one of the docents (Brenda) sat with Juni while I took the tour. I recommend that you tour the Opera House, or, better yet, see a show. There were no shows scheduled during my brief time in Leadville.

Wonderful experience.......just like I remembered as a kid. So much history to learn about and see. Recommend to anyone that loves history and stories!

As an opera and history nerd, this was the highlight of my trip to Leadville! I have been in love with The Ballad of Baby Doe since college and I was so happy to learn the true stories of Augusta, Horace, and Baby Doe during my tour. I was sad to not be able to see Baby Doe’s cabin during my trip because it was closed for the season, but this tour more than made up for it. I even got to sing a little bit of the opera in the house itself, which was such a treat! Thank you for keeping such a beautiful piece of history alive. The building, staff, and experience were all gorgeous.

We took the 1 hour tour on 8/18 at 2pm and it was fantastic. The tour guide knew her stuff, was efficient and informative, and did a great job of reeling in the talkative patrons that wanted to detail the tour. There's 3 floors of history to see and some great surprises, especially in the theater dressing rooms. For $12, I can highly recommend.

We were really looking forward to experiencing a play at this historic opera house. Everything was completely unorganized. From entering to purchase tickets at the door, we were never told that there was a vip event going on. We were asked to wait to enter, which we did. Once we finally were allowed to enter, we were assisted to our seats, which were supposed to be General Admission. However, seating was instead being suggested. The performance itself, was quite entertaining, but we left at intermission. The story seemed quite complete, and the seats while very vintage and beautiful, were very uncomfortable being made only of wood. We simply did not wish to endure another hour plus of this particular venue. Best of luck for this historic theatre, but please get your act together. Pun intended?

Lots of history here. Walk on stage, under the stage, backstage. Play the piano on stage. You can do it. You can walk where thousands of others have over the many many years. Probably touch a few door handles and whatnot that have been touched by famous celebrities. It's a very surreal feeling as we walked around looking at the beauty of this time piece. Things will change. I'm not sure how all it will change but this historical site is going to be sold to the city of Leadville. I would imagine that the city will do a great job preserving and showing off this gem of a place. I'm glad we paid the fee to get in. It wasn't bad and only $2 for 12 and under. I think it was $12 for adults. But all this will probably change after the summer of 2016.

One of the main attractions in Leadville, CO. It is preserved and doesn't look refurbished at all, old rustic look. They still have shows so it's a working Opera House.

Steeped in history. Much more interesting on the inside than the view from the outside would have you believe. A great tour although too rushed as so much to take in. A beautiful theatre - would love to see a show there.

Great selection of outdoor gear with extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. I went there twice last week - once to get a replacement for my leaking hydration pack before hiking Elbert. I had planned to hike the East Ridge, but Taylor convinced me that the Northeast ridge has a much easier drive to the trailhead for a similar hike. He also introduced me to Gaia GPS, which is much better than Alltrails for custom route mapping. I was also able to get a light backpack for hiking 14ers and 13ers to replace my heavy trekking-style backpack. It made it much, much easier to go up Sherman the next day. Liam spent about 10 minutes getting a stuck strap pried out of a plastic strap clip so the pack was usable.

This is one of my favorite outdoor stores of all time. The owner, Heather, is a wonderful curator and has a sophisticated taste for outdoor gear and what people need when they are ready to head out on an adventure. I bought a backpack here that I use every. single. day. They also have great trail snacks, small but important items like different size hydra packs, OH and they PRICE MATCH. It's one of my go-to spots in Leadville.

Mount Elbert is the tallest summit in Colorado and the second highest peak in the contiguous United States. It is a popular destination for climbers, offering several ascent routes. The summit boasts stunning views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains, although there are several false summits before reaching it. With a round trip distance of roughly 12 miles, this hike is considered challenging and should not be taken lightly.
Hey everyone.... Mount Elbert is the highest peak in the Rocky Mountains in North America, with a height of 4,401 m (14,440 ft ) and it seems to me that the 2 highest mountains in the USA....In my opinion, easy, medium hiking... Be careful, don't underestimate it
Ivan A — Google review
The trail is long it’s better to start early so that one can finish before 2 pm and you are below treeline by 12 pm, we started at 5:15 am and finished around 1:30 pm but this included all stops and time at summit the moving time was around 6:15 hrs. The trail should be known for it’s false summit. There are atleast 3 before you hit the real summit. The day today was windy and it hit us hard above the treeline and at the summit. The views at the top were rewarding and worth the effort. The parking gets full early so it’s better to be there before 5 am on a weekday, even earlier on weekends. A great hike and the elevation does hit you at 14200 Feet, but nothing too bad if you have good lungs and are fit. Overall the trial is well kept and maintained, great class I hike to start with the 14neers
Prabhas C — Google review
We chose the North trail, and while it’s not a bad route at all, it is quite steep. I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners or for anyone who hasn’t had time to acclimate to the altitude. There is a free parking lot with a restroom, but that’s where the infrastructure ends – which is a bit of a shame. In Poland, mountain trails often lead to huts with full service at the summit, where you can order food or a hot drink after a demanding hike. Here the trail feels wild and untouched, which is definitely worth appreciating. Still, I think it would be helpful to have small, empty huts above the tree line where hikers could take cover from the wind, which can be very strong (at least in September). That said, I’d still recommend the hike. It’s a fun adventure and a rewarding challenge.
Roksana L — Google review
Third time climb to Mt Elbert, one time on black cloud(south east)trail, two times on north trail. The North trail was most easy way to the summit, the black cloud was definitely the most beautiful trail and the hardest trail, the summit was amazing, will visit again.

highly recommend bringing spikes, hiked this weekend probably would've been a lot easier with spikes unless you like sprained ankles :) some ice up up top at the summit, pretty windy, about 16 miles, 5k feet elevation gain, and almost 8 hours there and back

The Scarlet Tavern is a popular local establishment in Leadville, Colorado. It boasts a variety of regional brews on tap and features pool tables and live music for its patrons to enjoy. Recognized as the preferred tavern by readers of the Herald Democrat for nine consecutive years, this historic bar is housed in an 1880s building that has served various purposes throughout its existence, including a saloon, wholesale liquor house, bank, and museum showcasing minerals from the area.
Likely one of the best places to grab a drink in Leadville. Actually seems to be one of the only places around that has draft beer and plenty of draft options at that. Wide open spaces with plenty of games. We walked in and the place smelled so clean, that’s a refreshing welcome. Arizona was our bartender, did a wonderful job and was such a joy to speak with.

Decent bar food type place that is set back from all the touristy type places in Leadville. Though the bartender did a great job, kind of surprised it was just one person taking care of the bar, dining room and patio—which while she did real good, service could have been a lot better for the busier weekend lunch hour. The burger was decent (jalapeño bacon) but the fries were terrible and tasted like yesterday’s food reheated. The fries were 1/2 my meal and I couldn’t stomach more than two—when I mentioned the problem the bartender said she would talk to the chef about it and then did so right in front of me (but they both seemed to just shrug it off).

Well, at least the roach coaches are gone. Smells like stale beer and dirty feet. This place is rotting from the outside-in. Demo on the deck and fence is a travesty... almost all that wood could have been reclaimed.

Some aggresive green hair server aggressively pulled a drink from my friends hand while we were there and was hostile to our whole party while we were there. We promptly took our 8 person party to the scarlet after this. This is a huge pro lgbt bar and not welcoming to blue collar people. If ur a local or work for A living go elsewhere. If ur not a liberal or gay you are not welcome their. Also they dont even have any food. Definitely worst bar in leadville
Gazorpozorp F — Google review
Food was much better than I was expecting for 'bar food'. Bacon cheeseburger was killer. Fries were cooked to perfection. Really only the downfall was the selection of beer, but was still able to find something I like. Beer was corona, PBR, Blue Moon, Coors, and a few IPAs. Not a huge selection but you can find at least one that you'll like.
Dan W — Google review
This bar and the staff in it are simply the BEST. Always a good environment and the patio renovations are going to elevate the space in a major way. Kevin Shaffer, have you ever stopped to think you smell like bad beer and stinky feet? I bet your wife thinks so.

Temple Israel Museum in Leadville, Colorado is a hidden gem that offers a fascinating glimpse into the Jewish history of the American West. Housed in a beautifully restored synagogue built in 1884, the museum features around 300 artifacts that tell the story of Leadville's Jewish community. Visitors are impressed by the well-preserved and unique items on display, as well as the wealth of knowledge shared by the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Fantastic place to learn about the Jewish history of Leadville! And what a history. Jews were a major part of the old west and ran most stores in towns like Deadwood and Leadville. Come here to learn about Jewish cowboys, gunfighters, mayors, prostitutes, and businessmen. What a shame it's all gone.

Couldn't have been more impressed with the wealth of information offered on display there, and also from the young man on the desk. What a beautifully restored synagogue, by clearly passionate individuals who have fought to keep the building and the story of the jews in this gorgeous, quaint, and highly elevated town, alive. Certainly worthy of a visit, very interesting and special little place.

I had been to Leadville twice before as an adult, and didn't know they had a one-time synagogue. This summer, I was there during the Pioneer Days and they had a sign out on Hwy. 24. Fascinating slice of Colorado and national Jewish life that, in the case of one person or two, became part of national American life, period.

The Leadville Visitors Center is a popular stop for tourists exploring the area. It provides valuable information about local attractions and insider tips from knowledgeable staff. They informed visitors that dogs are allowed on train rides, which proved to be a worthwhile experience. For special occasions like anniversaries, they recommended Treeline Kitchen for an amazing dinner. The center also assists with finding parking options for RVs in town, as well as overnight parking near Turquoise Lake.

I'm so excited about the new direction of the Leadville Visitors Center! This time I went in and they were able to give excellent advice for where to stay and where to eat. Did you know that Leadville has over 100 miles of free groomed trails?! When I visited 2 years ago I was not impressed. There must be something going on there that's really changing the way they do business. Super friendly staff :)

Stopped in here this past Friday afternoon. Asked about places to hike. The woman there was snippy and said "you think you're going to hike here without snow shoes or skis? This is a summer place to come anyway. There isn't any hiking here in the winter." She made us feel stupid, unwelcome, and disappointed. I talked to some locals and indeed found out about the Mineral Belt trail which is accessible close to the Visitor's Center. We hiked it and had a great time. We drove 3 hours to get there having read on Leadville/TwinLakes.com that there were hiking trails.

Super nice people in the Visitors Center. There's a lot of history in Leadville and the lady working there seemed to be an expert. She gave us some great info and directed us to places to visit. The Mining Museum is definitely worth a visit.

I stopped in the Visitors Center a few weeks ago to drop off some brochures and the ambassador at the front desk was kind and helpful. She shared the updates the Visitor Center has undergone in the past 6 months regarding parking improvements and COVID precautions. Way to go Leadville Visitors Center- great job making improvements to best serve visitors.

Awesome stop. Mike, the docent, brought history alive for us as we learned about Horace Tabor, his first wife Augusta, second wife Elizabeth, and their life from incredible wealth to financial ruin. Beautifully furnished home, well worth a visit.

A great tour by a local mining and history buff, Sharon, who worked underground herself as an engineer. Great info about the Tabor home and history, residents, furnishings, Tabor family, mining history, Wow. Would highly recommend. .

Top of the Rockies National Scenic Byway

5.0
(4)
Transportation service
The Top of the Rockies National Scenic Byway offers a breathtaking drive through the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This scenic byway takes you through high alpine landscapes, past historic mining towns, and alongside pristine rivers. You'll be treated to panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, dense forests, and wildflower-filled meadows. The route also provides access to numerous outdoor recreational opportunities including hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing.
Wow! Gorgeous scenery. It is 1st week of July and it is cold and there is snow. You will need a jacket and hat at Independence Pass. I am not a fan of heights but going up the mountain was worse than going down. We encountered jaywalking sheep that posed for us. We went from Leadville to Aspen to get to Ashcroft ghost town then back. Gorgeous drive mountains had snow. There are pull offs for the creek and picnic areas. I would suggest to get your food prior to going. Aspen has zero fast food and the food prices are for the rich. We found Clark's supermarket that had a deli, hot food, and packaged sandwiches. Priced around $7-$10. Excellent place that was suggested by a local on where they shop. The mountain road is narrow with only one car at a time so be prepared to stop and wait with the signal.

Beautiful drive. Would be more spectacular on a clear day. We had smoke in the skies the day we went

One of the best Colorado art galleries around. I wish I had more disposable income to buy everything. We definitely make a stop here every time we are in town. Great staff and incredible local artists.

We stopped here on our way home from Salida and I love this little gallery/art shop. I love how it set up and everything’s kind of intermittent mingled so you can take your time and find lots of little treasures.

Cafe
Nestled in the charming town of Leadville, Buchi Cafe Cubano offers a delightful escape into authentic Cuban cuisine that might surprise you. This cozy eatery is renowned for its mouthwatering Cuban sandwiches, with the vegetarian La Machina Verde sandwich often stealing the spotlight thanks to its irresistible cilantro vinaigrette. The café prides itself on delivering an unforgettable experience through every dish and drink, including their exceptional Cuban coffee and refreshing cocktails.
Tried the new dinner menu and we were blown away. It's a twist on fine dining, with beautifully put together dishes. The flavors of spice, lime, perfectly cooked meat and seafood, Buchi is absolutely where to go for dinner in Leadville! They're open for dinner on days where most of the restaurants close which is also a perk. Try the jambalaya - so So good!

This was our second time eating here. A small setup, no fancy seating or atmosphere; but the food was delicious! We love the Cuban mix sandwich, pork bawl, and the simple yet tasty avocado salad! You have to order the food at the window and the staff will deliver to your choice of table. Seating inside is limited, street parking, staff friendly, superb food.

We were surprised to find a Cuban place in Leadville, CO, but took our chances based on the good reviews. I know Cuban sandwiches, even the breakfast ones, are usually large, so we just ordered one egg, ham and cheese sandwich to share. My son and I split it and it was filling enough for two. He enjoyed his first Cuban café con leche, and I had an orange juice since I don't drink coffee. This place was fairly busy in the morning, service was friendly and the food and coffee were served very hot. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Leadville.
Cezanne — Google review
Their sandwiches are pretty good, the staff friendly, and the outdoor seating space is great. But don’t waste your $ on the avocado 🥑 salad as it is literally just 1/2 of an avocado sliced. And the staff does warn you that there’s no lettuce in the avocado salad but stupid me thought it would be like cowboy caviar then. Nope, just sliced avocado and couple slices of onion with dressing. They should really just charge around $4 for it.
J P — Google review
Came here ravenous after a 14er and left totally satisfied. Efficient and kind service at the counter window and the sandwiches are clearly freshly made and pressed to order. Highly recommend
Will H — Google review
Yellow cheese and hoagie bread? Not Cuban. And he asked if we want sugar in the cafe con leche?! Blasphemy!! Everything was fine, but nothing was Cuban.
Denver D — Google review
expensive but delicious cuban sandwiches!!! boyfriend got the cuban, which as a discerning cubano consumer, he really loved, & i got the veggie option, which wasn’t really a cuban sandwich except the bread, but still phenomenally delicious. would’ve enjoyed a little more to beef up the veg option / more options but just being difficult at this point! highly recommend!
Makenna D — Google review
The food is so good and staff are nice. The Cuban mix and the Buchi coffee are highly recommended.
