Distillery
Food & Drink
Buffalo Trace Distillery, located in Frankfort, is a time-honored establishment that has been producing its own line of bourbons for over 230 years. As one of the oldest continuously operating distilleries in the US, it holds the status of a National Historic Landmark. Visitors can take warehouse tours with tastings and explore the impressive site on foot or by bike along the scenic Kentucky River banks.
45 minutes from Louisville, KY, heading to Frankfort, then by the river there is Buffalo Trace Distillery, beautiful place to visit if you’re 21+. You have the option to pay for a tour, go to their website and book it, but if don’t find a room for the tour, no worries, go for a visit, and you will enjoy it. Very nice people will take care of you. Free Bourbon tasting in the second floor until 4:30, definitely great time and excellent tasting! Clay the bartender in the second floors was great. There is a gift shop in the 1st floor that you can find very cool stuff

Did the old Taylor tour. Highly recomend. Joan our tour guid was very interesting and knowledgeable. It was great learning the history behind why the distillery was located there and going through the many differing buildings. Without a doubt the best distillery tour I've been on!
Patrick K — Google review
We had Jackson guide us through the hard hat tour and he was very informative, entertaining, and a fantastic tour guide. Our group learned so much and had a lot of fun. The whole tour and tasting at the end was an incredible experience and we'd recommend it to anyone.

We arrived a bit late allowing a short time to taste and walk the grounds. We were not able to get a tour however every single worker we came across was exceptionally friendly and happily shared their knowledge with us. We met Matt Saville while he was working in the wood shop. Super friendly & knowledgeable man. We had a really good time despite our late arrival.

We visited Kentucky for the first time to tour the Bourbon Trail and were lucky that our campground was just a short drive from Buffalo Trace. We started our trip here, and honestly, every distillery we visited afterward felt like a bit of a step down. Buffalo Trace sets the bar. They offer six free tastings (yes, free!) and most afternoons you can grab a craft cocktail for around $6. But what made this place unforgettable wasn’t just the drinks, it was the people. We had read that Buffalo Trace was “family friendly,” but that doesn’t even begin to describe it. Our kids were treated like family from the moment we arrived. They were given special wristbands (technically to indicate underage guests, but they told our kids they were VIP passes) that allowed them to try root beer and ginger ale samples, and they were even given a chocolate during our tasting. The property has a playground, so we could enjoy a cocktail while the kids played within view. Kids are also welcome on multiple tours. If you don’t see availability online, just line up before they open, they'll work to get you on one. We took both the Trace Tour and the Distillers Tour (a mini version of the Hard Hat Tour), and our kids were able to join us on both. The tours were engaging, informative, and we learned so much about the history and craft behind Buffalo Trace. And we have to give a huge shoutout to Devin, Ashley, Josh, Scott, Todd, Mary Anna, and Mollie. Every single one of them made us feel welcomed, cared for, and like part of the family. They truly went above and beyond. Whether you’re a bourbon lover, traveling with kids, or both, Buffalo Trace is absolutely worth the stop. This was the highlight of our Bourbon Trail trip!
Sarah R — Google review
The smell of the iconic bourbon hits you in the parking lot. Everyone we encountered was fantastic...eager to help, welcoming, and happy to be working there. Michael G. was a fantastic guide. We spoke to a manager who was running register in the gift shop who was so friendly and vibrant. Everything was so clean. The whole experience lived up to my expectation and more! And to see all of those barrels that will become so many special bottles was such an experience! I can't wait to return!
Chuck G — Google review
IYKYK… it’s BT! I had an absolutely phenomenal experience visiting this bourbon distillery. Every tour was incredibly well done — informative, fun, and full of personality. You can really feel the passion and craftsmanship that goes into every drop of their bourbon. Each guide brought something unique to the experience, and you walk away not only appreciating the bourbon but the history and pride behind it. From the rich aroma in the aging rooms to the smooth tasting at the end, everything was top-notch. I highly recommend this distillery to anyone — whether you’re a longtime bourbon fan or someone who’s never visited one before. It’s an unforgettable experience that perfectly captures what makes Kentucky bourbon so special! Lastly, do not expect to find any of their high-end bourbons in the gift shop.

This was prob my favorite bourbon tour we did and it was even better cause it was free... Im not sure which tour we ended up doing because they all sold out soo quickly online... (Within minutes which was a bummer) But anyways Donna our tour guide was amazing... I loved learning all of the history behind buffalo trace, and sampling the different bourbons, I loved the layout of buffalo trace reminded me of a cute little town...

Nature & Parks
Cove Spring Park, located on the outskirts of Frankfort, is a stunning 240-acre nature preserve and park featuring wetlands, waterfalls, streams, springs, forests, and historic remnants like an old stone dam and limestone overflow tower. The park offers six trails totaling three miles for activities such as hiking, environmental education, nature observation, picnicking and Frisbee throwing. One trail even includes an elevated walkway over wetlands with interpretive signs.
This is a great place for everyone at any age. The water fall is peaceful and there are different trails for all levels of exercise. Flat for beginners and hills for a more intense workout. And it's pet friendly. A perfect place to come if you love nature.
Teresa D — Google review
Missed out on the wetland trail across the entrance...blocked by construction vehicles. Enjoyed cove spring. There were folks in the picnic area, but we had the trail to ourselves except for a gentleman preparing an area for his marriage proposal. Lively quiet hike
Darlene O — Google review
Wow! Check out the multiple spring falls as well as the glory hole and remains of the dam built in the 1800s. We stopped as a rest stop on a road trip and this became a highlight for our road trip as a definite must see. We also hiked the paved walking trail uphill about 1/4 mile and found a small sacred memorial gardens for families who have had children pass away and it was such a delight.
Kyle S — Google review
Really enjoyed the trails here, they are well marked and the scenery is amazing. Be sure to wear your hiking shoes and be prepared to hike over roots and rocks . I don't consider this a leisurely climb but more of a physical workout that can be challenging . There were other hikers when I was there today (Thursday) but it might be more crowded on the weekends.
Lola C — Google review
It was a great easy hike. Twice because we found a stray orange young cat. We left to go get some food for the cat but could not find him after we got back. Highly recommend

River View Park, located in downtown Frankfort along the Kentucky River, offers a peaceful retreat with scenic views and historical sites. The park features walking trails, picnic areas with tables and a pavilion, making it an ideal spot for leisure and relaxation. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as hiking the trails, kayaking or canoeing on the river, and exploring the nearby farmers market. Families will appreciate the park's kid-friendly environment and stunning water views from various vantage points.
It was raining off and on most of the day. Some intervals of rain were fast & furious coming down. Decided to pull over, eat and take a break. The parking was plenty, FREE.. A fairly large metal awning with picnic tables, located in the parking lot has FREE WiFi hotspot! Great idea. There are 2 portable bathrooms. There are stairs leading to a semi- covered platform. From there you can take the smooth concrete walkway down the other side to get to the Kentucky river. The wide, paved pathway follows the river. Several artist structures, picnic tables, and plaques with Frankfort's history lines the walkway. The river was alive with jet ski's & boaters in the rain. I didn't stay long due to the rain. It was a pleasant surprise for an unscheduled pull over.
Lady R — Google review
Lovely but small . A relaxing place . A walking trail for exercise . On Tuesday and Saturday they have a local farmers market to shop for fresh produce, homemade goods and meats . A historic railroad bridge runs next to the property and the Kentucky river runs parallel with the walkway . Today , the city was knocking down a part of the bridge because it was crumbling . A beautiful mural is painted on the wall of the RR bridge . A sculpture is by the walkway . A small balcony is built to overlook the area .
May A — Google review
Glad that we stumbled across this park. It offers a nice trail along the river with plenty of scenery including art murals, sculptures, a old railroad trestle, and a laidback groundhog that didn't go far the whole time that we were there. Nice time had by myself, husband, and our two teenagers!
Becky B — Google review
If you're transient: there's free wifi, unlocked electrical outlets, and porta potties here. More than a couple people obviously live at this park. Nice paved walking trail, good view of river. The parking lot can get full during summer but it's easy to park on the street in downtown Frankfort and walk over. I walk here near daily and have never been harassed or made to feel unsafe.
Cheeto S — Google review
No playground here, but there are cool sculptures that are interactive. There's a nice walking trail along the river that connects to the trails on Ft. Hill. Great place for a walk, a picnic with kids, or outdoor time with your dog.
Jennifer H — Google review
Riverview Park is a decent enough park. There is definitely not a whole lot to do here, there's a few historical signs that you can read for a little bit of history on Frankfort, and there's about a mile long concrete path you can walk along the river. It's definitely not something I would personally plan a weekend to go see but maybe it's worth a visit if you're from out of town and just want to see Frankfort a little bit. It's usually really quiet and peaceful and I would say it's a excellent place to include in a jog or a early morning walk. There's also some artwork painted alongside some of the walls and some art pieces in statute form.
Cade N — Google review
It's a small park, but the trees are really nice and it has a walking path along the river. There are some art pieces throughout the park and some signs about the history of the river and the stone walls and bridges along the path. The river was muddy when I went, and it seems to be muddy most of the time. When it rains really hard sewage dumps into the river. Despite all this, it's a nice river, but I found what surrounded the river to be prettier than the river itself. There is an old rail bridge and two highways crossing the river over the park. It isn't exactly peaceful, but it's peaceful enough.
Makenna G — Google review
The boat ride was very informative and our guide Joe, KSU staff was the greatest. He explained how ths river was formed, how erosion and trash affects the river life and what things we can do to help keep our river be clean, navigable and a source of water, recreation and beauty. Thank you.

Hoggy's Ice Cream is a delightful local establishment that offers an enjoyable dining experience. There are various seating options available, including tables on the main floor, a cozy loft for intimate gatherings, and inviting outdoor tables. The menu showcases a wide range of ice cream flavors accompanied by homemade waffle cones. The delectable ice cream is known for its irresistible texture and mouthwatering taste.
Super small but unique boutique style ice cream shop. Loved stopping by and enjoying what they got. The workers were really nice!! Shout to my boy Levi who served up some good scoops. The staff were super friendly and nice and make you fee welcome for people of all types. The ice cream is really good! Fresh and delicious, definitely come out and support small scale businesses. They have a unique hog challenge to try out if you think you can stomach that much ice cream (it’s a lot). Nice outdoor and indoor seating, with bathrooms as well. Worth a stop for sure.

After dinner I wanted a sweet treat and I noticed this ice cream shop nearby. I am in town from Las Vegas, Nevada to attend a funeral for my cousin, who was a long time resident of Frankfort, Kentucky. After a long, tiring day of traveling, I appreciated the kind, friendly service and delicious ice cream. I got the salted caramel, which I highly recommend.
June M — Google review
Awesome place! One of my favorite ice cream places! 20 flavors, 1 scoop $3.50, 2 scoops $4.50. I got blue moo monster and chocolate cookies and cream, cotton candy and cherry cordial. Upstairs, downstairs seating and outside seating too!
Taylor 3 — Google review
My kids absolutely love Hoggy’s Ice Cream. They never skimp on the scoops (you’re definitely getting your money’s worth), and there are many flavors to choose from. We personally love adding gummy bears and other treats. The shop sits at a great spot in downtown Frankfort, which makes it perfect for an afternoon stroll and a quick stop after lunch or dinner if you’re around. There’s cozy seating both inside at the top floor and seating outside. Plus, downtown Frankfort itself is a charming area with some great photo worthy spots, perfect for making a little outing out of your visit.
Candice S — Google review
What a perfect way to end a visit to Downtown Frankfort!!! When we first walked up to Hoggy's the line was too long for our impatience, so we walked down to the river and around the block. When we got back the line was still out the door but not nearly as bad as earlier. We ordered waffle cones in varying sizes and ate as we walked back to our AirBNB. The cones were fresh and crisp; the ice cream perfectly flavored and served in satisfactory scoops. They did not skimp on the serving size. They had a large selection of flavors to choose from...a flavor everyone. This is such a cute ice cream parlor and so conveniently located on the corner near many shops and restaurants. I love the colors and the cute little pig.

Kentucky Coffeetree Cafe is a pleasant and inviting hangout adorned with shelves of books, offering espresso drinks, light meals, cocktails, and live music. It stands out as a beloved destination in Frankfort due to its relaxing atmosphere and excellent service from professional and friendly staff. The pricing of the drinks is reasonable, while the food is consistently delicious and served hot.
Started the morning off right with an iced coffee and bacon, egg, and cheese burrito - make sure to get some hit sauce on the side it was delicious!

I have found this little place of bliss that serves amazing, unique coffee and teas. They also make smoothies, which have been delicious, as well as milkshakes. I have not tried any of their food besides the muffins that were so fresh they crumbled. Each day I go I am greeted with smiles by the kind workers. They work their butts off and it really shows. On Sundays they have a tiki bar with alcoholic drinks. They also sell coffee beans that you can grind there at the shop. The smell is heavenly and the environment is cozy. Conjoined on one side with a bookstore that made me instantly think of Beauty and the Beast with the working ladders to reach the top shelves. The other side is attached to a local shop great for visitors. Prices are very reasonable and with so many choices it is hard to pick just one.

Made a pitstop in Frankfort, Kentucky for some morning coffee and decided to try this spot after reading the Yelp reviews. It’s a quaint, cozy, and intimate coffee shop where you can grab a book or magazine, slow down, and take a little break from life. The prices are reasonable…. a large and a small coffee came to about eight dollars. I ordered a breve, and since I can be a little particular about my lattes, I don’t think it’s fair to judge them on how mine turned out. That said, I’d definitely recommend making a stop here for the warm ambience, friendly service, and a good cup of coffee.
Erica M — Google review
Oh man, this place pretty cute, tiny little place but the food and drinks were amazing. Customer service was pretty good but I think they could have a better system to streamline the food and drinks out to the customers. Other than it was really good, if you want to play a board game, go right ahead, you might not find the pieces to some of them but you could also bring your own. The book store was right next door and there was a door on the inside of the coffee shop that led you right into the bookstore.

I rated it 5/5 because 10/5 wasn't an option. I love this place. I'm there every single day. I've been a regular since I moved to Frankfort because it was a Pokemon GO hotspot and now I've made it my office for work and school. I always meet great people there, too. The atmosphere is conducive to good vibes with other people. Great place to be introverted or extroverted. You wouldn't take my review seriously if it was all good news, so a criticism is that it needs more outlets. All they need is a few power strips but not every table has access. I've NEVER had a problem finding an outlet myself because I've been lucky. If you ask, people may let you sit nearby and charge. Just needed one complaint for authenticity. This is my favorite place and Katie is so sweet to all the customers. Food and coffee is literally amazing, too.

I absolutely love it here. It's quaint, quiet, and a great place to catch up on work or chat with a friend. Everything is made right there in front of you and they cater to how you want things. I wanted an extra sweet extra HOT hot chocolate with heavy cream and they didn't blink an eye.

We had our daughter’s bridal shower on the deck overlooking the river this weekend. The venue was perfect, the service was outstanding, and the food was amazing. They even made a perfect signature Bourbon slush for the event! Jamie, Emma, Anthony, Inez and Jeremy worked so hard to make the day such an enjoyable experience. 10/10 recommendation!! It couldn’t have been more perfect 💕💕💕

I had Fish and Chips. The fish was burnt but the fries were good and plentiful. My partner had the Chicken Tenders. The chicken was very dry but he liked the amount of breading on them (not heavy). The “Kentucky Hot Sauce” was basically maple syrup with a little spice. Our server was pleasant and checked on us regularly. We sat upstairs and in a corner under a vent which was very cold.

Thought we would try this place out since they had vegan options. Wife and I were craving burgers, but didn’t want fast food. We got ours to go at this nice pub in downtown Frankfort, KY. I got the Black and Bleu Burger with onion rings. The burger was huge and the Bleu cheese sauce was dripping good. Best onion rings I have had in years! My wife got a vegan impossible burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. Their dipping sauces were amazing too. Well worth the visit! And, as an aside, their building also has a lovely mural, titled “Beautiful and Brave” on the side.

The Boozy root beer and bourbon margarita were amazing! Glad that they had gluten free buns as an option. Would recommend the bacon jam for the deviled eggs, tried them with that and the pork belly. The server saved our marriage!!!!

Called the night before requesting a dinner table outside. Responded with patio is booked all night so how is table inside. I decided to arrive early 330pm and was promptly seated outside. Had our minds set to order burgers but then saw special menu. Fried bologna sandwich was not a disappointment the picture I am posting doesn’t even show the bottom bun due to thick slice of Bologna. Pork Thai curry bowl could have used more spice since I like it hot. Fries were good and right on kentucky river. Drinks were tasty! Service was over the top and extremely attentive
Julie — Google review
I can not understate how good the Kentucky hot fried chicken sandwich is. Starting with the breading; it was solidly adhered to the chicken, not at all great and a perfect crisp golden brown. The chicken was still moist and dripped juice at first. The Kentucky hot means hot honey, it’s good. The waiter Gavin was attentive and accommodating. Ask him about the great flood.

Capital Cellars Bar & Liquor Store is a charming spot in downtown Frankfort that offers a wide selection of local bourbon, spirits, wines from around the world, and beer options. The cozy bar area provides a welcoming atmosphere for enjoying drinks or having a private get-together. While there are no snacks available, it's an ideal place to relax with a drink or purchase a bottle to take home.
We had a great time here. Dawn, the bartender, was awesome—super friendly and fun to chat with. The pour prices are really reasonable, and they’ve got a solid selection of bourbons. Dawn introduced us to one we hadn’t had before, and we liked it so much we bought a bottle on the spot. Definitely worth a stop if you’re looking for a laid-back place to explore some great bourbon.

Friendly staff. Decent vibes. It's like a slightly classier hometown bar, with many regular locals that still frequent this place after many years. It does clear out early, so if you want a slightly quieter place, this place might be for you in their later hours.

This is an excellent liquor store. Not only for its wide selection of local bourbon and other spirits, but also the fact that it is an inside consumption business. The knowledge staff can guide you to a selection, and even give you a sample of many of the items. The bar is very nice and welcoming and there is a comfortable seating area for a more private “get together.” Unfortunately no snack are available, but stop in for a relaxing drink, and/or take a bottle home.

The food was delicious: Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parmigiano, Beef Tips. There was live entertainment as well. I wish I would have gotten his name. He had a great voice, played music we remembered from our younger years, and did not overpower our dinner but enhanced the atmosphere with a perfect volume and sound. Great dining experience.

First time I had a bland oysters, the spaghetti and meatballs were perfectly cooked but lacking of seasoning, same with the bruschetta and chicken parmesan it’s bland. The kitchen also pretty slow although I understand because they were busy but the taste of food they just need to improve on. I think the pasta bolognese is the good one.

Serafini is a true gem in downtown Frankfort! We had a party of 13 and they went above and beyond providing us with an amazing experience. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, the staff is fantastic, and the food is incredible. It was a culinary delight. Add in their excellent bourbon and cocktail selection, and you have the perfect night out. Our server, Tosha was outstanding. We throughly enjoyed visiting with Carlos the managing partner. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Frankfort!

Ordered two flatbread pizzas a beer and a bourbon drink. For a fine establishment like this never ever use maraschino cherries with your Bourbon drink. And although we had to send one of the flatbread pizzas back because it was not cooked all the way, the replacement was absolute fire. Come check this place out

My wife and I ate here for the first time last night. Really liked the downtown Frankfort feel on a Wednesday night with the old capital, people eating outdoors and music. Unfortunately, our experience at Serafini was not as good. We ordered the Italian Nachos for an appetizer, which were just okay. My wife ordered the Serafini pasta (chicken and marinara), which was okay but on the dry side. I got the chef special, which was butterfly shrimp, risotto, and green beans, which were okay. The chef special should at least include a small salad for the $40 price. The service was slow, even though there were only about 4 or 5 other tables occupied. We would have preferred to sit at the available window tables up front, but were seated in a booth towards the back. We didn't ask to sit up front because a waitress told the young man seating us, not to seat us on the other side of the restaurant. Finally, it took so long to get our dessert, after we paid, that I ended up standing next to our table holding our to go containers waiting on it. The entire atmosphere, however, was very nice and the best part of our experience. The meals, appetizer, a soft drink, beer and dessert were over $100.

Party of 8 for lunch and everything was perfect. Angie Beadle, our server, was excellent. She knows everything about the menu and made great suggestions. Beautiful restaurant. We drove from Lexington and our family drove from Louisville to eat at this wonderful restaurant in Frankfort!

Excellent Chicken Parm, Stuffed Mushrooms and Lobster Bisque. Great service and their "Drunken Blueberry" Cocktail is a much try

Tonight The service was good — our server was polite, attentive, and professional. However, the timing and food quality really missed the mark. It took about an hour and a half for our food to arrive, and when my lasagna finally came out, it was disappointing. It wasn’t hot, had very little seasoning, and honestly lacked flavor altogether. I tried a few more bites hoping it would get better, but it didn’t. My wife tried it and agreed — bland and tasteless. My friend ordered the same dish and said the exact same thing. They removed the dish from his bill, but not from mine, even after I mentioned my concerns. The server said she’d talk to the manager, but since I had eaten nearly half while trying to give it a fair chance, they would only take off half the cost. I declined to speak with the manager — at that point, another $11 wasn’t worth the time. I was ready to go. We made sure to tell our server it wasn’t her fault and still left her a fair tip for her service. Unfortunately, the lasagna was probably the worst I’ve had — not because it was inedible, but because it had no taste at all. Not to mention, 4 people were waiting for about 5-7 to be seated right before we left. They walked out when we did and said “they never came to us.”

Goodwood Frankfort is a charming restaurant in Frankfort, KY, offering a delightful dining experience. Whether you choose to sit inside or on the patio with river views, the friendly service and welcoming atmosphere make for a pleasant visit. The menu features an array of delectable options such as fried green tomatoes, perfectly cooked steaks, buffalo cauliflower, Drunken Chicken, and grilled cheese baskets. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of beers including the recommended Bourbon Barrel Stout Beer.
Lucky enough to get an outside table on the river. Started with a House Old Fashioned, good choice. Shared some chicken tenders and tots with hubby and still had a take home box. Finished with sweet potato beignets (which they are removing from their menu, and IMO a bad choice as they were delicious. We rarely, maybe once or twice a year, order desserts and they not something you find at many restaurants). Please DO NOT remove them from your menu!!! Waitress was attentive, offered suggestions and had a great personality!

We visited for lunch on a Saturday. There were quite a few tables occupied but no wait for seating. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The table was sticky and so was the menu. The bathroom was clean with a sign that said, “employees must stop crying before returning to work” which made me chuckle. We ordered a beer flight but were disappointed to hear they were sold out of IPA. The tart beer was like biting into a grapefruit and not our favorite but the others in the flight were okay. We both ordered wraps. My husband ordered one with blackened chicken. If you’re looking for truly blackened chicken order something else. The flavor was good but if you look at the picture you’ll see it had some seasoning but not the flavor profile he was seeking. We were pleasantly surprised by the coleslaw serving size. Many restaurants give you a ramekin’s worth but this restaurant serves an entire bowl. Fries were hot and crispy. There is outdoor seating overlooking the river but we sat inside because of the heat. They do have a full bar with a decent bourbon selection. We would eat here again.

This was our first time at Goodwood and we loved everything about it. Katie C was our server. She was friendly and took good care of us. We got the Blackened Catfish on dirty rice with cheese grits, the Pepperwood burger with fries, and the Mac N' Cheese Melt with fries. Our food was delicious. The menu has a large selection to choose from. They have a variety of beer on tap. The place had an awesome set up and amazing atmosphere. With concrete and what looked to be original hardwood floors, as well as being open in both the front, on the road, and back where the outdoor seating is, it is a little loud inside. They seemed to be well staffed and able to accommodate larger groups too. The restroom was clean. It took us a while to find a place to park but we aren't from the immediate area so we just weren't sure where to go. It's really a cool place that we look forward to going to again soon.

We stopped in after a couple of distillery tours and needed some real food — and Goodwood delivered. Our server, Katie, was fantastic and kept things light and friendly. We sat on the patio overlooking the river, which made for a great vibe. The burger was excellent, and my wife had the salmon and loved it. Honestly, this was easily the best meal we had in Kentucky. Perfect spot to recharge between tastings.

Atmosphere was great, the views and setting of the bar was great and welcoming. Felt like a good place to relax and enjoy the company of other. This was the best catfish I have had. The taste was not overwhelming and was able to taste the fish and seasoning. The Moscow mule was also tasty and fantastic.

In town visiting for the Kentucky State football game and this place was suggested. Our server Marcus was phenomenal and very helpful. I ordered the Chicken and waffle, my cousin ordered the Blacken fish with greens. Everything was absolutely delicious 🔥10/10 definitely recommend & if I'm ever back in the area I will be back!

Our server, Brandy was an absolute delight! Our fish and chips, Pepperwood burger and fried pickles with fresh ranch dressing were delicious! Our outside patio river view was beautiful! Goodwood is our go to in Frankfurt!

We were hoping for a much better experience. The tables in the floors were so sticky. The white napkin would literally tear apart as you wipe it across the table.. bathrooms were filthy. Some of the food was cold. Beautiful sunny day and the deck was closed, which is why we went there. We decided to have appetizers and a beverage because we were concerned what the kitchen might look like since the rest of it didn’t look so well. The employees were very disagreeable. Our server paid no attention.

Restaurant
Main Street Diner is a charming family-owned 1950s-style eatery that offers a delightful breakfast with all the classic fixings. The diner is adorned with various music memorabilia from the 50s to the late 80s, creating a nostalgic ambiance. Despite a slight scent in the air, which some liken to Charmin toilet paper, the friendly service and delicious food make it worth visiting.
We loved our experience. You seat yourself, and a waitress will bring you menus. I had the steak sandwich, and my wife had the spicy BBQ burger. The steak sandwich was cooked perfectly. They did score the meat one way to make it easier to chew, but checkerboard scoring might have made it easier to eat. My wife's sandwich was 10/10. Fries were made to order and came hot and fresh with our sandwiches. The diner was affordable and had cool vibes. We'll be back.

Great little diner conveniently located in downtown Frankfort. It's a "hopping kind of place", everyone looks super busy. But service is efficient, the food comes hot, and it is delicious. I love the "build your own" options. My husband built his own "breakfast", choosing from eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, toast, biscuits...etc. I built my own "omelette", choosing the number of eggs and what I wanted added. I chose mushrooms, peppers, spinach, tomatoes and cheese. But there were many more choices. Prices were reasonable, too. What I loved too was that customers were super-friendly. We had conversations with people at both tables near ours. And they were in depth enough to discover that we had some things in common. It was a fun dining and socializing experience. We will be sure to return during our next trip to Frankfort.

I chose the building your own omelet. I got mine with bacon, ham, and cheese. It was slightly greasy but that made it all the more delicious. It came with toast and shredded hash browns. Waitress was very nice and was quick to help. Food came out very quickly as it was not busy. Very nice cozy atmosphere.

We went for breakfast here. This was a great meal all around for us. The service was excellent and so was our food! Our orders came out correct and in a timely manner. We were highly satisfied with the overall experience and the price was way better than I expected! We will come back each time we come up for the bourbon trail.

Classic local diner with a steady breakfast crowd, so getting there early helps. Service was kind and attentive even when things were busy. Food took a little while to come out but tasted fresh and homemade. It’s nothing fancy but does the job well if you want a solid breakfast.
Erny P — Google review
We have eaten here often. I think over time the food has declined a bit in quality, but it is still good. When it opened, everything was locally sourced, but I did not get that sense this most recent time. The pork chop was fresh. But the gravy seemed a bit stodgy. The biscuits also were different. It also seemed like the eggs were only half turned. Turing and egg on a flat grill Isa practiced art, and half flips are just weird.
Mark G — Google review
The diner was very dirty, and the server was covered in cat hair. The burger had no flavor at all, but the fries were fresh and yummy. The cups looked like they were 100 years old. This place has potential with the retro vibes, but they need to seriously reconsider their hygienic process.
Grace V — Google review
This diner is absolutely adorable! The food was great and the staff were friendly! Our waitress was attentive and gave good recommendations. We each got the breakfast platter, one scrambled and one over easy. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Frankfort!
