Central Dairy Ice Cream Parlor on Madison Street in Jefferson City is a must-visit for families and ice cream enthusiasts. This popular spot can get quite busy during sunny days due to its immense popularity.
The ice-cream was so good. Very fresh and so delicious. Has good a good parking lot and street parking as well. So many delicious flavors. Booth seating available. Best ice-cream in Missouri. Definitely going back. Very fair prices. I think mine was five dollars for a cup of three flavors. Cones also available. Friendly Staff. Looking for any excuse to go back.

One of the popular local attractions in Jefferson city. Ice creams were really cheap for the quality. Good value for money. In terms of taste, I would say they are not the tastiest I have eaten, but very good for what you pay. The location is good. It is crowded, I guess because of its popularity.
One of my favorite stops when traveling home to Jefferson City! The ice cream treats are top notch and very reasonably priced. There is a vast selection of sundaes, cones, banana splits to keep any ice cream lover very happy!
My family has been coming here for many years and it's always delicious. It can get busy in the afternoons so you may need to wait in line, but it's oh-so-worth the wait. You will not be disappointed!

Great 7 dollars banana split. Amazing
Unclean and dirty.The counters where you waited for purchase had melted ice cream. Ordered two vanilla malts. The malt machine had chocolate ice cream splattered against the front and back. A collection of towels were piled up in the area where the malt cup say. The girls who waited did not wear hair nets. One had long hair which was toes back but as she dipped deep to scoop the ice cream her hair touched the sides of the ice cream container. The girl who served us was not friendly. Did not even say thank you. The malt was OK. Way too thick. Had to let it sit for an hr before I could enjoy it. Very crowded so I suppose the locals are not used to anything else. My problem was how unclean the place was.

Overall my family and I have experienced eating a prison bruise while we were in Jefferson City was pretty cool I ordered the supreme pizza with duck wontons and Buffalo to start with. The duck wontons were not very impressive and the buffalo dip was more forward on cream cheese and sour cream then I would have preferred.
I also ordered the supreme pizza and my daughter ordered the barbecue brisket pizza they forgot to put the barbecue sauce on her pizza so it had to come out on the side but both pizzas were really delicious. Overall my experience here was quite fantastic and I really encouraged and you when it comes down to grab a flight and try their local bruise that brown they have is some kind of delicious. Overall very happy just wish our server would have even taken the time to ask him if he wanted dessert before putting the check on the table

Things were a little slow this night we stopped. To be fair they had a large table of about 20.
The tenderloin sandwich was really good in my opinion. The kids grill cheese though was really heavy and greasy. Daughter was not a fan. My wofe got the chicken Philly and the special sauce is a pesto blend.... not really what we thought it would be. The buffalo chicken dip had good flavor. But was made with whipped cream cheese. That made it really lite and fluffy. Again. Just not our thing. We will try again and try the burgers or pizza.
Everything was absolutely delicious. My aunt had a very awkward visit because 1 of the owners stood in the back and stared at her the entire time while she had her meal! That may be something he does, but he made her very uncomfortable!
This is one of the most unique brewery concepts I've seen. It plays well with the neighboring and now closed down Missouri State Penitentiary. The concept inside is fun and gives it a unique vibe different from other breweries. Beers were good. Food was decent.
I have always given good food reviews but I just can’t this time. Prison burger was tasteless and chewy. Breading on pork tenderloin sandwich was salty and greasy. Fries and homemade chips were overcooked, salty, and greasy.
I would rate the pizza here as the worst I've ever eaten in my entire life. It should be given a life sentence with no parole.
Our BBQ pizza had multiple huge globs of fat on it and raw dough in the middle. The service was also terrible. I would rather serve a night in the slammer than eat here again.
We went here for dessert because there they seemed to have the best menu within walking distance of where we stayed, near the state penitentiary tours. We got the rootbeer float, "world's best chocolate cake" and cheesecake flights. Of the 4 people that ordered cake, everyone said it wasn't great, it was dry and only 1 person finished it, and they had ordered ice cream with it. Not recommended. We got 3 cheesecake flights and they weren't bad. The cherry and blueberry shooters were good but the other 2 were not cheesecake at all. I thought they weren't bad but 1 person thought the peanut butter was too rich. My nephew got the rootbeer float and wasn't happy. This was his 2nd rootbeer float of the day so he had something recent to compare it to. The other one came from Izzy's Burgers and Shakes on High street. We did get wings and chicken noodle soup to go and I was told that both were really good. The atmosphere was really fun and the service was good. I would go here again for food but definitely not for dessert.
We have been to Prison Brews many times and were satisfied with the service. However, this time was not the case. It was a Friday night around 5:45 pm when we arrived. First of all we walk in the restaurant and were asked if a table was ok because thats all they had open. We walked in there were two booths open but we were not seated at a booth. We were seated at a four top between two very large parties of 15+ people. We should of left then as that was an indication of what our service would be like. Not one minute after we were seated another group was seated at the booth. They were given drinks
before a waiter even got to us. We sat there at least 15 minutes before waiter took our drink order. Another group came in 20 minutes after us and got their drinks and food before us. We waited at least 30 min for appetizer then 20 minutes for our food. There were 3 us and only 2 of us got our food. I had to wait an extra 15 more minutes for my food. My family was done with their meal before I got mine. Forget about refills of our beverages. The chicken philly sandwich I ordered was not what I thought it was going to be. It had pesto sauce on it and was not to my liking. We spent at least an hour and a half + here. I would say this was the worst service we have had at a restaurant in Jefferson City in along time. Very disappointed.

The Missouri State Penitentiary, also known as "The Walls," is a historic prison complex in Jefferson City that operated from 1836 to 2004. This Gothic Revival facility housed dangerous criminals and was the site of a notorious riot in 1954 due to overcrowding and violence. Today, it offers tours of its cell blocks, yard, and even the gas chamber.
A group of us, six in all, were joined by 30+ more tourists for an overnight lock-in. We were met by very engaging staff members, and, once the rules were set and buildings discussed, then set free for the remainder of the night.
The site is incredible; the history, the atmosphere, the allure of witnessing paranormal experiences. As with typical experiences, paranormal engagement varies widely from person to person, and cannot truly be "reviewed", but should be experienced for yourself. I would love to attend a more private tour in the future, as the presence of large groups of people, in my experience, diminished the haunting mood.
Be sure to bring extra battery packs, flashlights, and other gear! Leave the sleeping bags at home, you won't be sleeping here.

Four of us booked a three-hour tour and it was one of the highlights of our weekend. We ended up being part of a group of about thirty guests. The place is creepy and spooky, and we enjoyed hearing some firsthand and secondhand stories about paranormal events as well as some history of the prison and its inmates. During our tour, we had (what could be argued were) some activity, but nothing definitive. It made for a more exciting visit, for sure.
Drove 5.5 hours from Nebraska to visit! We went for the 3 hour ghost hunt on Thursday & decided we should go on the History tour on Friday morning. I enjoyed both of them so much & had so much fun. The only thing is I wished I would have done the history tour before the ghost tour! So I would have had more of an understanding of the area! The guides & staff are awesome, super helpful, and full of knowledge about this prison. With the future of this place being unknown I’m so glad we took the time to come visit!
The history of this place is phenomenal. They offer prison tours, ghost tours, and overnight haunted tours. Our tour guide was Lee, who I highly recommend, because Lee was an actual prison guard that worked there for many years. Lee started working there in the 1980's. He worked there until they closed in 2004, then worked at the new prison for a few more years before retiring. If you do a tour here, ask for Lee. He is very knowledgeable. You can even go inside the actual gas chamber that was in use for many years there. I am so glad I went on this tour. Thank you Lee!
The buildings are incredible. The tour and stories are through and captivating. Our guide, Daniel, knew so much and made sure we got the best photo opportunities, plenty of time to ghost hunt, and definitely shared every story he had. Absolutely coming back for another tour!
Highly recommend the history-based tours of this very interesting and atmospheric place. Having taken two tours (with different guides), can also say it’s a totally different experience each time. There’s also paranormal/ghost hunt tours, if that’s your kind of thing.
This place is so interesting! I only regret doing the shorter tour! Our tour guide was very informative and the fact that he used to work at the prison before it closed really added to the tour! I wish we had more time to explore as the 2 hours went by so fast. I really hope they don’t tear this place down we would love to come back.

State pen was a great visit . Our guides Jim and Dave were very knowledgeable and made it very interesting. I’m thankful the state has not removed it and put in a parking lot . So much history there, the architecture and people.

The Missouri State Capitol, completed in 1917, is a historic government building located near the river in Jefferson City. Amazing capitol and grounds. It is very easy to find parking right by the building. The building itself is beautiful. There is also a museum about Missouri inside that is free and very informative. It's one of the best Capitols I have been to in the US.

We had a great experience visiting the Missouri State Capitol. You can either book a free guided tour in advance or explore on your own. Both options are completely free! We went on a Saturday morning in June right when it opened, and surprisingly, we were the only ones there.
There are some free parking spots right in front, which made things super convenient. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes because there are four floors to explore, including a full museum on the first floor with exhibits covering Missouri’s rich history, government, and culture.
The architecture is stunning, and every floor has something worth seeing. Whether you’re a history buff, traveling with family, or just passing through Jefferson City, the Capitol is definitely a must-visit.
I absolutely loved the capital building. I think it's awesome you can walk around on your own and explore. There are some areas restricted but free excess for the most part. The art and history in the building really makes it a must see.
Lovely experience, I had the privilege of meeting several representatives and hosting a house style debate through their facility . I captured some gorgeous photos of the capitol that helped capture the atmosphere within the capitol. (With my spooky and liminal touch of course)
Such a beautiful property! This Capitol is massive. The beauty of the building inside is phenomenal. I love to tour state capital buildings and this one does not disappoint. Take some time out of your day and check this out. You will not regret it.
Beautiful capitol building inside and out. When you walk around the grounds, the grass is beautiful and manicured even on 100 degree days. There's parking in front and back of the capitol. It is truly a beautiful building.
Great place for adults or children to visit our history. Inside and out of the building. I'm hoping they will dedicate a little time to maintain the outside also. Not enough to deduct a point. Just an observation :)
I had an extra day to stay in Columbia, and decided to visit the Missouri State Capital. I learned SO MUCH about the history of the state and was very impressed with the beauty of the building. If you are ever near Jefferson City, MO, a trip to the State Capital is well worth your time!!

Our local home town "Cheers". The staff was friendly, and Katie is super on top of our service. The food is amazing every time. The locals fill the place with jovial banter. If you need a little respite from your droning life this is the place to be. With a warm cozy bar and in the summer visit the beautiful outside seating. The decor is old town amazing. Come on over to Paddy Malone's it will not disappoint!!

The Guinness was spot on—'a properly poured pint!' as it should be. The Irish coffee was lovely, too.
kI'd been dying for some good fish and chips, and these ones hit the spot. We also gave the Italian potato soup a go—proper hearty and filling.

Visiting from Chicago to visit family, they recommend your place. We were not disappointed. The outdoor deck dining area is great. Server was great. We ordered the Fish and Chips, Ruben Sandwich and Shepherds Pie. Great place!
Wow. Simply wow. I have reviewed and eaten at hundreds of places on this journey. I just had one of the best burgers of my life. The service here is top notch, quick, friendly, and attentive. If you want a perfect pour of Guinness, this is your place. Do yourself a favor and make the effort to stop in here for a drink and a dynamite bite of food.
Paddy’s is literally the best.
I’ve lived in a lot of different places but we just moved to Jeff City. I feel like I’ve been searching for the best Irish bar for a looooong time and I’ve finally found it in Paddy’s. The food is amazing and authentic and I definitely think about those mushy peas atleast once a day. The atmosphere is cozy and warm inside and out. Don’t forget your dog because the patio is heated and pet friendly. The crew they have there is friendly, patient and kind.
Happy to say I’ve finally found my local haunt.
Great atmosphere. Perfect decor. Nice little Irish pub here. Onion rings and fries come in huge portions. 16 beers on drought, but there's only Guinness for me. If this spot was back home I'd come here at least twice a week. Will return here every time I'm up this way. Friendly staff that tends to their patrons with service and care.
This bar has the best vibes. Very welcoming and inclusive. Staff is friendly and the decor is perfect. And they serve summer shandy on tap!
The Shepherd's Pie is great cold weather comfort food and feeds at least two people. I also love the Paddy Melt on wheatberry bread. The beer is served in fabulous heavy glasses. The service is always good, and the atmosphere is quintessential neighborhood Irish pub.

McKay Park, a 20.4-acre green space in Jefferson City, is a charming destination named after Neil McKay, who generously contributed to its establishment in 1979. The park boasts a picturesque lake, a lakeside fitness trail perfect for walking or jogging, an asphalt basketball court for sports enthusiasts, and ten picnic grounds ideal for outdoor gatherings. Families can enjoy the playground and bank fishing while picnicking or having a barbecue.
Nice place to stop when traveling. Many picnic benches and a nice playground set up for kids. The small lake is relaxing. There is a nice building with toilets.

McKay Park was the first city park I went to when I first moved to Jeff City and I think it's a good one.
It's not where you go for long canopied hikes, or wildlife encounters (other than fishing) but it is exactly the kind of park you go to for a picnic, to take the kids to play, to have a BBQ, sit on a bench and watch the birds or sunrise, or to go fishing. It's also dog friendly and has a really nice little walking loop around with lake with high visibility and all paved.
I was amazed that it was such an easily accessible, stocked, fish-able public park, and that's certainly one of the major draws.
This is a simply gorgeous park and lake right inside Jeff City! It includes a wonderful paved walking path all around the lake where you'll likely see many geese ( and a couple of faux swans). In fact, you'll need to dodge the goose dung on the sidewalk. The park is beautifully maintained with many varieties of flowers and trees. It contains numerous benches and a great playground area for the kids. This park makes me wish I lived nearby but we were just passing thru for one night.
My kids and I love this park! It has one of the best play grounds. I also love taking walks on the trail that surrounds the beautiful Sunset Lake.
This park is a gem. Centrally located, clean and well maintained restrooms, great playgrounds, plenty of parking, quality walking track, and best of all, the FISHING! Kids and adults alike are in for a good time! Edit* They have one of the cold water dispensers like in schools! Absolutely clutch on hot summer days- just refill your container as needed!
Park was great. Playground equipment was all in good working condition. Only issue we had was the hill to the playground. Needs a blocker so you don't fall down the hill. Way too steep for littles.
It's a nice park. It seems well kept and clean. There is a paved walkway that goes all the way around the pond and a nice play area for the kiddos.
The pond itself is a bit shallow for fishing and we only managed to catch a couple of sunfish, an under water tree, and I hooked a Cattail. Darn! There is a pretty steep walkway to one of the parking lots. It would be nice if it had a handrail.
McKay Park is probably the best all-around walking park in Jefferson City. While it doesn’t necessarily excel in any single category, it offers a great balance of features that make it a go-to spot for walkers and runners alike. The scenery is pleasant, the elevation stays fairly consistent, and the loop is just about 1 kilometer. Perfect for anyone who likes to track their distance with ease, including me. I frequent there and have tried my hand at fishing ( I think id best stick to walking though).

O'Donoghue's Steaks and Sea Food is housed in a charming 1890s red-brick building on the Central East Side of Jefferson City. The restaurant offers a blend of historical architecture and contemporary ambiance, creating an upscale-casual vibe. Once inside, guests are greeted by a neat and welcoming interior with friendly staff. The menu features a variety of steaks and seafood options, with calamari and sirloin being popular choices.
Excellent food & service! Even though it appeared they were short staffed we had great service. Highly recommend the key lime martini if you like fruity, sweet cocktails. It was so good! We had the crab cake appetizer, filets, & deep fried lobster. All was cooked perfect & tasty. This local restaurant is a gem & we will be back!

This restaurant is a delightful little place we have visited several times now. It’s always hard to not dig in before taking a picture. The chicken Marsala is delectable & a family favorite. The salmon is delicious. The pork chop dinner was mouthwatering. And my favorite, the chocolate zucchini cake, was amazing! O’Donoghue’s is truly a hidden treasure in Jeff. Price to value is justified. Service is more upscale than most places in town. They have a back patio, a bar setting, as well as fine dining. We hope to return many times in the future!
The appetizers we spot on, My Ahi Tuna was wonderful and the steak was delicious. Food service was a little slow getting out but only because the restaurant was understaffed for the evening it looked like, quite a few customers showed up around the same time we did as well for the dinner rush.
Best classy restaurant in Jefferson City. Excellent service from John! Homemade toasted onion bread and don't forget the provel cheese for the salad. Lemon drop martini is perfect!
Great food. Lamb chops were tasty and tender. Good wines. This is not fast food, but a place to relax with friends over a meal. Robert is great. Nice atmosphere. The feta cheese is a must add on to the salad. Toasted sourdough bread comes with the salads. Bathroom is always clean and well stocked. There is a ramp to get in the front by the handicapped parking.
The part of town is a little sketchy but do not let that deter you from eating here.!

We had the stuffed mushrooms and corriander encrusted ahi tuna sashimi as appetizers and they were phenomenal .

My 12oz ribeye tasted and smelled a bit strange. I reluctantly finished it because I figured it was fine. Shortly after leaving, our leasurily drive to Walmart turned into an Indianapolis 500 speedway race to get to a toilet as soon as humanly possible. My 150 dollar meal unfortunately did not stay with me long.
I would also like to add this was my first time eating at this establishment. We went solely based on the positive google reviews. The whole experience seemed a bit strange. The restaurant looks to be in run down residential area with a questionable apartment complex on the backside of the building. (Park where you can see your car)
The wait staff seemed quite overwhelmed and lacking experience. At one point the manager berated an employee for not answering the phone quick enough. The head chef exited the kitchen many times in basketball shorts.
The presentation of the food seemed pretty lackluster for the prices. I would compare the food and service we received to a Perkins or Dennys restaurant. No way I could justify the experience today for 150 dollars.
And I'll admit the manager running around did look like he was trying his best. But there has to be a more honest recent review on here. I felt shamboozeled and had a bathroom emergency after leaving.
Tried this restaurant for the first time recently and the experience & food was fantastic. I had the bacon wrapped filet and it was cooked to perfection. Very relaxing atmosphere and perfect for a date night!

I was very disappointed with everything. I chose to try this place out for my birthday after reading the reviews. When my family and I, a party of 5, got there there was any kind of greeting. When we got to our table we were asked what we wanted to drink and had to ask what drinks they had because it wasn’t on their menu and I had to ask specifically what they had besides bar drinks because I had kids out me. Then when the waitress came and introduced herself she never mentioned the special offered for that night. When we ordered there wasn’t any mention of equipment being down that would delay receiving the food. We had 2 kids meals, a sandwich, and the prime rib dinner. When I received the salad that came with my dinner there was a hair in it, and they apologized and got me a new one. However, after an hour and a half of waiting we were finally told that they only had 1 fryer working so the kitchen was backed up. When the food finally arrived my prime rib wasn’t medium like I ordered, it was medium well and room temperature. The fries that my family received weren’t even hot. I let them know that I had ordered medium for the prime rib and it wasn’t medium or hot. They apologized and said they would take money off, but they only took a small amount off which was basically the 2 kids meals. They did give us a coupon for 1/2 off appetizer and $2 off our next visit. I can guarantee there won’t be a next visit especially with how expensive it was even after taking some money off. Not a place I would recommend.
My new favorite restaurant in Jefferson City. The food was spectacular. I had the mozzarella sticks to start. Then a Moose Burger. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. The staff are top teir. Layla was our waitress. She was attentive and very kind. Judy was also very helpful and kind, clearing our table quicker than we could sit things down. Unexpected find. Pointed here by a local at an antique shop a block away, we were not disappointed. The missus had prime rib, while I chose a reuben with waffle fries. Being from the northeast originally, I don't typically order reuben sandwiches elsewhere. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Highly recommend, and will visit again if ever back in town. Btw - the Irish nachos and onion rings were excellent as appetizers.
Dinner 2 nights in a row, Hailey & Paige were our waitresses, they were great. The food came out quick, hot & fresh, our drinks were filled all night. The atmosphere is kid friendly & chill.
The seasoning was perfection. Food was perfect. Staff was very polite and helpful. This was just the night out me and my partner needed. Special shout out to the horse radish sauce for the prime rib sandwhich. It was creamy and buttery and bought the meal to another level the way it paired with the bread. I really have no complaints and would happily return.
The Eco Lounge was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. I ordered the fish tacos and a side salad with the honey balsamic dressing, and both were incredible. The tacos were perfectly seasoned and fresh, and the salad was crisp with just the right touch of sweetness from the dressing. I’ll definitely be coming back—highly recommend!

Delightful restaurant offering Italian and Greek dishes in addition to a full pizza menu! The Plato Hot Sub was delicious and quite filling. Forewarning - portion sizes are very large, so plan to share!! Right across from the Capitol building - just a few minutes walk on foot.
The food was fantastic and the portions were large! Everyone had leftovers. We were in town, just for the weekend. The service was very good and the food came out faster than expected for our size group and it was all accurate. They had some really good looking cakes and desserts but we were too full to try them. Ordered Thessalian Chicken Gyro's, and they were nearly impossible to eat stuffed with dry chicken. They mixed up the wraps and my mom ended up eating the wheat one I ordered, make sure to check your orders when they get to your table before eating.
The food tasted bland, the fries were cold and seasoned with a generic creole seasoning mix. Had to request napkins.
Not sure if this is their standard or if we just caught them during a busy Saturday lunch rush. Overall was pretty disappointed in the quality of the food because it's been a highly recommended restaurant to my family since we moved into Jeff City.

Restaurant with a sports bar atmosphere. Great service and the meatball appetizer was so delicious. We ordered a gyro and pepperoni & sausage calzone with fries as a side. All of the food was really good, hubby says sausage had a really good taste in the calzone. It wasn't the best gyro I've had but it was good. Fries were also very good, crunchy with seasoning. We ordered a Greek-style pizza to go. Unfortunately, the crust was cracker-like and not our favorite. We'll definitely stop again for the meatballs!
I can’t even explain how good this place is! We had a make your own pizza, meatball appetizer and a cheese filled breadstick. We are from NY and this might be one of the best pizzas we’ve ever tasted!! Meatballs were season perfectly and the breadsticks were so tender and delicious. Thank you for an amazing meal!!
First time visiting based upon son’s recommendation. He takes after me, so he has excellent taste :). Absolutely great meal and lovely waitress, Maddie (make sure to ask her about how the pizzas are cooked, she provides in depth info!). Started with Pesto Chips which were delicious! Got a half Brooklyn, half Niki pizza. Both flavors were outstanding! Try it, you’ll love it.
Came in the evening for dinner. Was a bit busy and not much parking space outside. Make sure you come in hungry and you will leave satisfied and with left overs. Come get the hummus and the margarita pizza!

Auto Care Center makes you make an appointment and then they don't keep the appointment time. I had a 9:30 appointment and got there at 9:15 to check in (after receiving 2 reminders of my appointment) and they said it would be 3 hours before they could get my car in. What's the use of making an appointment if they aren't going to keep it. Also said it would take an hour after they got my car in - just for an oil change. They should be able to do an oil change in less than 30 minutes.
It looks like this is an ongoing issue with the auto center at this location based on reviews. I went into Walmart on Wednesday, and asked if they could get me in that day without an appointment. They said no which was fine. So I made a 4:30 p.m. appointment for Friday. Arrived at 4:00, checked in and waited. Didn't get a text or anything about me car after an hour or so and just assumed their text service wasn't working. Asked them if my car was about done and they said it hadn't even been pulled in to be worked on yet.
So I waited, to around roughly 6:00, and they finally got it pulled in. And they didn't finish untill about 7:20. It was over three hours of waiting WITH an appointment.
I'd recommend just to go back to doing walk ins if appointments are not going to be honored. I remember Walmart used to that, and then they'd cut off customers after a certain time to make sure they could finish what they had. It's pointless to make an appointment if you still have to wait 3 hours.
The order pick up system is very handy when it's working right. But that's a rarity now. Twice this week alone, Ive had several cars show up after me and get their order and leave. I called in and was told my first order was "lost" but they now magically found it. Yesterday I'm told i didn't "finish signing in on the app" I told the lady I'm looking at the screen and it says "finished and parked". I even did it again five more times. Still took another 12 minutes to bring my order out.
Every week now I park and sign in yet multiple cars are loaded BEFORE me. This system sucks
This store is nice, clean well organized and I like how it is spacious, plenty of room for customers to shop. The only issue I have, is that it never has enough registers open. For a big store with lots of register's, they never seem to all be open when the place gets busy. It's aggravated having to wait in long lines with only limited registers open.
Service at rx drive thru very good until today. They skipped me in line. Waited double the time to get my order. Supervisor said new hires being trained. No excuse for skipping over me.
I use wal mart plus delivery all the time. I wish they were more reliable. this past year the dri era seem to forget a lot of my orders
Best place to find everything I need and at a price that I can afford. There's always a great selection and the people are always friendly and helpful.

We visited the Museum of Missouri Military History on a Saturday morning in June, right when it opened. There were only about 8 people there, so we had plenty of space to explore and take our time checking out the tanks, planes, and exhibits.
The museum is located on the Missouri national guard base, so once you cross the railroad tracks, just continue straight until you reach a booth. Let them know you’re there for the museum. They’ll check your driver’s license and wave you through.
There’s a lot to see packed into a smaller space: military uniforms, weapons, historical displays, and even a helicopter that flew in the Vietnam War, complete with patched bullet holes. We were able to go inside one of the tanks, which was really cool! The carrier plane wasn’t open because it was too hot. When it’s 90+ degrees, the inside becomes like an oven and it’s unsafe for people to go in. So if you want that part of the experience, try going on a cooler day.
It takes about an hour to fully explore everything, and it’s definitely a case of quality over quantity. There’s plenty of free parking, and the whole museum is completely free! It’s a great stop for history buffs, reluctant spouses who end up loving it, and curious kids alike.
You have to go on base through the gate. Your maid will lead you in a circle to a closed area. This museum gives a unique local spin on every military action since the Mexican American war. Great artifacts. They have a C-130 anda tank that you can go in.
Free access, you need to access the National Guard (need ID) and amazing collection of tanks and military material (WW1, 2 and Vietnam wars) super recommended!! Reserve about 1:30h to see the entire collection.
Great high quality exhibits! Very interesting. Perfect way to spend a couple of hours. It was super hot the day we visited so having the A/C in the in-door exhibits along on with the bigger out-door ones worked out perfectly. It is inside the National Guard Base so you do have to go through security at the guard station but they were very friendly and helpful.
It’s hard to rate a free museum badly, especially when it’s a good one.
As said above, this is a free museum, you just gotta show your id since it’s on a military base. There are tons of military vehicles outside. You can even go inside a plane. It features both an outside and inside exhibit

I visited the park specifically to walk the AllTrails "Ellis Porter Park Greenway Trail". It's a nice trail that's 1/2 paved and 1/2 gravel + 1/2 through wooded area and 1/2 through a combo government/residential area + part of the Ellis-Porter Park. Surprisingly, it wasn't buggy, and there are bathrooms at the park shelter within sight of the trail's starting point, which is helpful. If I lived in the area, I'd return.

Great venue. The Amphitheater offers close parking, a cozy environment for a concert.
We were in town and wanted to go for a walk. I picked this place because Maps said it was near the river. I didn't see any trails near the river but I saw the river at one point. Meandering paved paths take you from bright sun to shaded areas for relief. There are a few hills that definitely give your calves a slight burn going up. The park is very well maintained as far as the grass. However, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. At 1 picnic table we saw cans of soup left behind. Then, on the other side of the park, on a bench, were 2 steaks either cooked and left or cooked by the sun! Either way, that's disgusting. There was a bottle of BBQ sauce in the grass so maybe somebody was abducted by aliens JUST as they were about to eat? We'll never know. Those picnic tables have an extra shelf up above and have little roofs for protection... genius. It's a shame people can't pick up after themselves and appreciate what the City has provided for them.... instead of apartments or concrete, there's nature!
It's a beautiful park and a little swimming pool. It has several paved paths to follow if you are looking for a great place to walk.

I had never been here until last week for a friends wedding and it was perfect. The park has lots of space for activities and hosting a weddings. The pavillion is large and there was a serving area below the pavilion that couldn't be better!

My littlest one (almost 2yo) has a bit of trouble navigating some of the obstacles in this playground. But the older kids enjoy it. We found on our last trip there's an area with a large long table that could be great for crafting, and a large fire pit. Requires permit to use, however.

Very very hard to find. The GPS directions need to be updated for this park!!! Once there the facility was very nice and clean. The park had a few more unique play things that I don't normally see. I like that. My kids had a blast here.
Love McClung Park! Great little event area, wonderful playground, outdoor pavilion, great parking! The only real downside for me is the primitive restrooms, however, better than no restrooms!

My granddaughter has tried to get us to eat at Nick's for a long time. She said they have the best fish in town. Today, we took her to her favorite restaurant to get her fish fix. She didn't steer us wrong. The fish, mash potatoes and gravy, greenbeans, coleslaw and Rocky Road ice ream were absolutely delicious. The service was great too!

We were at least acknowledged when we walked inside. It wasn't busy but we were asked to have a seat and wait until we could be seated at a table. They never spoke to us again, and we were never seated at a table. Finally after about 15 minutes we left. I don't think they even noticed us leaving. There were only four of us. Probably won't return.

First time here and was blown away. Amazing food, amazing beer, and amazing atmosphere! Met Helmut, the owner, and chatted about his life before going on a tour of the place. My wife and I happened to be in Jefferson City the night of our 40th anniversary and were recommended the das Steinhaus. The worst $110 I ever spent. A Wednesday evening, maybe 10 people in there. Ordered escargot for an appetizer. Salad came before appetizer. I ordered smoked pork chops which weren’t smoked. Wife had beef rouladen, which was heavily seasoned with cloves. Everything was disgusting. Probably ate 10% of the food.
Service was good. Waitress was friendly and helpful. But food was not. Cordon blue was a frozen chicken entree, that I could buy in the grocery store, definitely not real cordon blue. I have been to Germany. The food served was definitely not the traditional German cuisine. I would not recommend the food to anyone who wants good German cooking. Don't waste your money.
Went to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was very flavorful. They also had karaoke. That night. Sang a few songs. It was fun. The lighting was good. Not a bright light atmosphere, but I wasnt there so I could read a book. I was there to eat great food and have fun.
Everything was great EXCEPT the way my wife’s steak was cooked - if someone wants a steak well done, why does the grill master take it upon himself to cook the steak as he sees fit? And by the way, she only wanted it medium and was more like the rare side of medium rare - not even close to how she ordered it.

Stopped by on our day in Jeff City for the state track meet. The breakfast was without a doubt a wonderful experience we ordered a few different options and definitely try the recommendations of the hospital the breakfast bowl bendy country fried steak and eggs. Everything was absolutely delicious and full of wonderful flavor. I myself ordered the Florentine omelette with sourdough bread one of the best omelets I've had in years fluffy thick full of fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. The coffee at Oscars was incredibly delicious. Everybody there was very happy and helpful in our drinks almost never went empty our waitress, faith, was just awesome and if you have a chance please ask for her as she is super attentive and great at her job.
Oscars is a definite gym near Jeff City and I definitely encourage you to check it out as soon as you can and make sure you get some of those biscuits and gravy without crispy bacon it is absolutely wonderful

We had drove down from N.E. Missouri to visit family & were told about Oscar's. 5 of decided to go there for lunch. We were seated right away. After our order was taken & our food was brought out, our waitress came by numerous times to check on us. Had the fish & and fries, and it was absolutely delicious. All the food was fantastic. Highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.
The BEST Reuben sandwich. Corned Beef was tender and tasty, NOT tough and stringy. Friendly staff and excellent service. Food was delivered to the table piping hot, which on a busy Friday night is quite an accomplishment!

I have three stars as it’s a good movie theater and they have great deals with the popcorn. However it’s the first time in 3 years and I must say the seats are disgusting. I really wish the would get new seating. The floors are also very worn down. Other than that it’s a great theater. Also please tell the kids working that standing around chatting with friends isn’t a good to when there is lines. The bathroom trash was so full you couldn’t even push down the tissues bc it was overflowing so bad.

Went to see Sinners. The movie is freaking awesome! A must-see, the theater not so much. It's dated, and the seats need lots of attention. The head rest are worn. To be the only theater in town, they are not putting the money back into the business. A+ for the movie only, and 2 stars for theater!
The two ladies working tonight (one a young blonde and the other an older brunette) could do with a lesson on respect. Me and my three friends came in to watch How to Train Your Dragon and me and my one friend had a brief “fight” over who was going to pay, but was handled quickly. I spaced on the name for the movie when trying to say how many tickets I’d need for it, and the brunette said “she doesn’t even know which movie it is” while cleaning the counter. Like hello? That was extremely rude. When we walked in the lobby was completely empty, and the exchange was short, yet the staff acted as if we’d totally ruined their night by coming in. When I went to pay I used a $100 bill and she (the blonde) sighed and rolled her eyes. I didn’t realize that simply doing your job would be too much to ask for.
Hark! I did venture forth to this establishment, which they do call a "moving picture house," and found myself grievously disappointed. The very air within was thick with a most unseemly stench, not unlike a privy unemptied for a fortnight. And the seats, by my troth, were so stiff and unyielding that my very bones did ache as if I had been tossed from a carriage.
Furthermore, the "picture" itself was but a fleeting shadow, at times so dim I scarce could discern the figures upon the screen, and at others so blurred as to give one a headache of the most fearsome sort. The rumblings and clatter that issued from the machinery were quite enough to drown out any sense of the dialogue, leaving one to guess at the very meaning of the spectacle.
And as for the "refreshments" – a paltry offering of burnt popcorn and a watery beverage, both priced as if they were imports from the Indies! I declare, I would sooner spend my pence on a proper pint of ale at the tavern and listen to a minstrel play, for at least then my ears and purse would not suffer such indignities. A pox upon this place! Avoid it, good sirs and madams, as you would the plague.
Ended up being pretty disappointed after trying to watch Paranorman in 3D. The picture was terrible, the movie was NOT 3D and due to the blurry imagery it made it impossible to keep watching (yes we ALL had our glasses on). At first I thought that Laika did a bad job converting it to 3D. Halfway through the movie I spoke to the kids working behind the counter. They sent someone into the projector room to fix it and the rest of the movie was in 3D. But to pay $74 on tickets to only get half the experience because of technical difficulties?!

The kids had so much fun at this park! It is so beautiful! I wish our city had something this big and spaced out. There are a few playgrounds, a nice walking trail, lots of places for several families to BBQ. It is really a nice park! Towards the back of the park, there is a water park with huge slides! Jefferson City you truly are blessed!
My toddler and I love this park! It has two different play areas! The first one is near the front with a play set for 2-12 year olds and another for 2-5 year olds. The one at the back of the park is a tot play area. There is also a paved trail that has a dog water station, benches, and these fun signs with ideas to play and learn with the kiddos. There are also lots of picnic tables with shade and grills as well as a large pavilion you can reserve with electricity and fans. There is also a basketball court and lots of shaded area to throw a frisbee or ball or just hang out!
The pool was nice and the staff was friendly. It gets busy very quickly so if you want a chair you want to get there at open. Cash or card to get in and at the concession stand. $7 for an adult all day.

I like this outdoor treasure that's nestled just a few minutes from our Missouri Capitol. Currently (Spring 2025) sees Runge under construction with improvements happening at the visitor center/indoor section as well as outdoor, but still very much functional and fun!
About 2 miles of well maintained, clean, beautiful trails weave through quiet grassland, fields of seasonal wildflowers, and foresty areas with a variety of aged trees.
On the visit where these pictures were taken, March 2025, the flowers were not yet in bloom, but the birds were already sweetly singing. Visit in Summer for gorgeous wildflowers beside the trails.
A very nice outdoor escape inside of a bustling city, and it's a shame part of the trail borders a neighborhood, but those residents keep their homes looking very nice, it just reduces the 'out in nature' experience. A part I relish is the old fire tower lookout. Historical signs tell the story of the tower and the husband and wife who operated it many years. People can climb the steps for a bird's-eye-view of this area, but the tower building at the top is locked.
Come enjoy a very nice getaway in Jeff City at Runge. Due to work hours, I have never been inside the building, but it looks like a fun, educational opportunity and I took a picture during renovation where I saw taxidermy animals and displays along with things to read. Thankfully, while the inside closes by 5pm, trails are accessible until 8pm. There's even a shorter wheelchair accessible trail right off the parking lot that offers nice features to read and view Missouri's natural gems.
Beautiful views and scenery. Plenty of unique trails to choose from as well with varied distances. the firewatcher tower offers a great overlook of the nature center. the indoor area is a great museum type attraction that has plenty of interactivity. Trails are mostly paved so walking after rain is no trouble.
I loved exploring the trails at Runge Conservation Nature Center! The paths are well-maintained and offer a peaceful escape into nature right near Jefferson City. There’s a great variety of plants and wildlife to see, and the trail signs make it easy to learn about the local ecosystem. It’s perfect for hiking, birdwatching, or just a relaxing walk. Family-friendly and educational — a hidden gem for anyone who enjoys the outdoors!
I didn't realize it, but I had been here before with the kids in 2003, and it still impresses. Four of us adults enjoyed the outdoor trails, then spent an unexpected amount of time in the Nature Center. It is so informational, includes live animals and taxidermy versions, and there was a quilt exhibit at the time, too. This is an excellent place to bring children, but the four of us enjoyed exploring as well.
Great place! It’s free but a lot to do for kids 1-5. Turtles to look at, a couple fish, puppets, a ‘tree house.’ My kid loved it.
Shout out to the conservation lady who helped reinforce the lesson of ‘don’t eat things you find outside’ when I had my child ask her if a fruit found outside was edible, she told my child what it was and what animals like to eat it and reinforced ‘Always ask an expert!’
Although it was free, it was so worth it that I bought something from the gift shop to support them.
It was very pretty. We were unable to go in because it was a Sunday and they are closed on Sundays.
Being so accessible for everyone living in Jeff City makes this a must visit (multiple times) for any resident and great side stop for anyone passing through or living in the nearby area.
The walking trails are well kept and a mix of single track, gravel, wood chip, and boardwalk. There's also a creek when the water is running, a diversity of fields and canopy, leading to an abundance of blooms, and a fire tower that you can go up for amazing panoramic views.
I highly recommend it for trail running, but of course walking is fine too.
There are ample public facilities and of course the highly educational nature center itself!

The woods at Binder Park are lovely, and the trails are excellent for walking, running, or biking. There are multiple easy trails, and they wind for miles through the trees. The trails are popular for bikers, so if you are on foot, keep an eye out!

The pictures on the website shows your Site look like your far away from the other site around you, but your closer. Nothing was clean. The bathroom and showers are extremely old and not clean. Spiders and rust everywhere. I noticed people were using filters on their water hoses. And you better bring a long hose since your sharing the water with another site and the water is not close. Do not use your GPS to locate the park unless your actually in Jefferson City. It's better to come off Hwy 50. We liked the Host, he was nice and it was very quiet. Has a lot of amenities around it if your looking to fish etc..No boating..
The park is very spacious with a beautiful lake and picnic areas. Lots of activities for the family and adequate parking areas.
Its a nice place. But, roads are terribly narrow. Had several close calls with people coming around corners in the middle of the road. So drive carefully because there isn't a shoulder on much of it. The fishing was poor. The lake was low and pretty dirty. A mother nature thing, I would presume.

We had a Family/Friends outdoor event. This was the only place Park and Rec had available, and let me tell you, it was the perfect place! The Tropical roll and Phoenix roll were the most unique rolls I have ever tried! The strawberry sauce on the Tropical Roll blew me and my friends away. The crunchy Phoenix had a nice heat and unique indescribable flavor! I would order both again! The rest of the food was great! Miso was a little untraditional with the mushrooms but still pretty good! The steak wasn't all the flavorful could have been more rare but still decent. And the sumo roll was good but I've definitely had that kind of roll before, nothing unique there but great!

Nice breakfast in this updated country diner. We opted for an omelet and biscuits and gravy. Food was tasty and food came out fast. Service was friendly and atmosphere was welcoming. Good coffee! Nice distance for breakfast from lake of Ozarks on our way home from the lake
If you are every going through Jefferson City, this is a must stop place. The people were great, food was amazing and the kept my coffee topped off which is a plus in my book.
This was my first time going to Mel's since their expansion. I went to brunch with a good friend and we both ordered breakfast. We were immediately waited on by Jay. It was so good seeing his face again! He did an outstanding job serving us. Our food came out fast, hot and delicious. Jay made sure our coffee cups stayed full and followed up to make sure everything was o.k.

First the good news; food was very good and prices surpassingly low considering other places high costs. Ham and cheese omelet was perfect. Diced potatoes had just right texture and seasoning. Biscuits and gravy were complimentary with soft biscuit and flavorful gravy at just the right consistency. Table workers were fantastic and genuinely friendly.
The bad - for me at least. The comfortable home style feel of the original building is gone. Replaced with lots of echoing noise and an “industrial” setting with bright lights, dark ceiling and white walls. Menu is limited but the food provided is excellent. (Best pancake I ever had this morning.) I hope they can reduce the noise and hang some paintings.
Will return as the cooking and staff more than overcome any atmosphere issues.
My husband and I are out of towners. We stayed at America's Best Inn and it was AWFUL. We came here to Mel's, just hoping to drown out the terrible hotel stay. This was the absolute ,hands down, best breakfast, service, and cost. It completely made us forget about the terrible hotel experience. We have never had a better server than Miss Kimyani. She was so bright and attentive and continually checked on us. I would drive all the way back from Trimble, Mo., just to eat here again💜
This place was terrible. My daughter’s sausage came raw. The hash browns were way undercooked even after we requested extra crispy. The service was awful as well. Our waitress never came back until we asked someone else if we could have a refill. When it was time to pay, the waitress asked if we were paying with cash or card when we said card, they said oh I will take your card and run it, but never gave us a total before asking that we pay. Then when they came back with the receipt it just had a total not what we were paying for itemized. So we had no clue what they were charging us for each thing.

Texas Roadhouse is a vibrant chain restaurant that offers American cuisine with a unique Southwestern twist, all within a Texan-themed ambiance. During a visit on the Saturday before Valentine's Day, the reviewer was one of the first 25 patrons and promptly seated in under two minutes. A thoughtful gesture included being presented with three roses, individually distributed to each member of their party. The service was efficient with quick beverage delivery and prompt order placement.
I haven't been to Texas Roadhouse in a few years, but had a very enjoyable meal. I brought my two son's in with me. We given exceptional service by Mr. Earnie, or Earnest! He was very attentive to detail. Didn't ever have to ask him for anything. Food was phenomenal. When I do come back. I will ask for him specifically if he's working. He treated my son's very professionally as well!

The services is great here, no complaints. :) But don't bother ordering steak here unless you ONLY like rare or well done. If you order anything under well done, you will get rare. It happens every time I order steak from this location. I usually order carryout, but when I ate in-house, I ordered medium, was given rare, they put it back on the grill, gave it back to me well done, then offered to put it BACK on the grill if it wasn't right. We ended up getting 15% off our bill because of the mistake, but it happens EVERY time. As far as I can tell, their other food is fine, the service is fine, but they need to learn how to cook steak beyond rare and well done.
Food was excellent!! Husband loved his fork tender steak! Service was exceptional! Being a former server in my younger years and witnessing the teamwork from tonight's staff, hustle with a smile on their faces was great! Our server, Becca she was very friendly and attentive. And shout out to Ritchie, a server for the table behind us! He made sure to offer us refills as he was passing by and some extra rolls. Always makes for a better experience when staff are friendly to one another and work as a team! I would say wearing those "I love my job" -shirts really showed well with our visit tonight. Great job JC Texas Roadhouse!!
My son and I both had ribeye steaks. They were cooked perfectly to our likings. The server, Joe, was very polite, nice, and efficient. We had the fried pickles, which were really good. 😋
Great experience! It was super busy, but that didn’t keep them from taking care of us! Rolls kept on coming out till our awesome food arrived! Will definitely be back!
Ate a late lunch here, food and service were both excellent. This was our first time at this location since we were traveling but hope we make it back
Waitress was busy, but I'd like to have more than one cup of coffee an hour. Forgot my wife's broccoli, asked for items to be placed in individual bowls/plates to no avail. Everything dry, that I wanted to remain dry, did not. Always unbearably loud here. Unenjoyable experience. Luckily, the food was good.
The owner says thanks for letting them know how they can improve. This was the third strike for this establishment. Not had good service all 3 visits.. Informed staff on site the previous two times. Having information and not using it to resolve the issues.... Seems like poor management... Did anyone notice there was no apology? I feel like I matter so much. I think our waitress had issues with mixed race couples, or so it seemed. I'll apologize. I'm sorry I put my spouse in this environment.

The staff is always very friendly, I wish they would make some small improvements to their building for a better dine in experience. That small detail aside, it's probably my favorite carryout pizza in Jeff City.
Moved from Chicago 5 weeks ago. Tryed many pizzas by far this is one of the best thin crust pies ever. Diners drive inns and dives worthy dont judge a book by its cover
The pizza here is top 3 best tasting in Jefferson City. Not a place for family to sit down and eat. More of a billiard hall pub. Get it to go.

They delivered to the camp grounds at Binder and found us! I tipped the guy 8$ I was happy then we ate the pizza. Man it's just like I would do if I had my own place again.
