Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Gravel roads connect natural displays of over 400 local & exotic animals across 100 acres.
This is a zoo that you can go to and not leave feeling like “oh those poor animals”. The enclosures are huge and you feel like you’re seeing the animals in their natural environment. It’s really reasonably priced and they don’t gouge you for extras. Halfway through the circuit there’s a playground you can get drinks and water is one dollar and soda pop is two dollars. Everybody gets a free ice cream at the end. The entire circuit is about 3 miles so if you’re walking, take your time.
Guy H — Google review
We thought this was an absolutely amazing family friendly place.... Gorgeous, especially in the Fall. Families could easily spend three to four hours here. There is a petting zoo at the end of the trails, as well as a Park area for the kids to play. My husband and I hiked along the trails and it took us 2 hours to see all the animals. For those who cannot walk the trails, you can rent a golf cart. At the end of your visit, as you walk through the visitor center, you can pick up a free cup of ice cream! 🍨
Carter-Lori A — Google review
We took the golf cart option, which was huge benefit for old folks with bad knees. Most animals can be seen from cart path and easy to walk up closer. Well laid out and well marked. It was a cold day so not sure if that had an effect. The best is at the end with the lions tigers and bears. Would wish the predators had more room to roam, they seemed slightly uncomfortable.
John M — Google review
Very nice family friendly Zoo with well kept facilities. Has a great variety of animals to see, and things for everyone to enjoy. We fed goats and played in the music and play areas within the Sanctuary. They also have golf carts, if you wish not to walk through the entire park. Definitely something worth checking out!
Jutengai O — Google review
Really fun place to visit with my kids! Most of the animals had very large enclosures, which made finding them fun like a scavenger hunt. We spent about 3 hours there and walked about 4 miles. We tried to get a golf cart but they were sold out. If I went again we probably would skip the golf cart anyway as it is a lot of stop/go and on/off. Free ice cream at the end as well!
Ryan J — Google review
My favorite zoo. No concrete. No cramped cells. Lush green everywhere you look. I’m older so the golf carts are especially appreciated. I go every single year at least once. This year I’m going two weekends I’m a row with different friends!
Lori K — Google review
Shalom is an amazing place. All the animals are beautiful and well taken care of. You could spend hours there and still feel like you could spend more time watching all the animals. Love that place
Connie B — Google review
Such a unique zoo that isn’t flashy and is more geared toward adult audiences. Almost all the enclosures were big, spacious, and natural. Oftentimes several species coexisted in big spaces. We loved that there was reading material not only about the animals, but about the Native history, the plants we walked by, and there were several learning centers about certain topics. Less squished than most zoos and gave more of a sanctuary aesthetic. Will recommend and be back again!

Nestled in the heart of downtown West Bend, The Braising Pan offers a delightful blend of traditional German and American cuisine in a cozy tavern-style atmosphere. This charming eatery caters to diners of all ages with its diverse menu that features both modern twists and classic favorites. Guests can savor authentic dishes like rouladen, schnitzel, and sauerbraten alongside popular options such as burgers and wraps.
Great authentic German food! Went for lunch with my brother; we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Ordered a Bavarian Pretzel with beer cheese sauce for an app; the pretzel was very big and both were very good. I had the Artichoke Spinach Chicken Sandwich with twist fries; the sandwich was amazing and the fries were a nice change from usual. My brother had the Schnitzwich, which he said was also very good; his potato side was German potato salad which was served warm and was very good. Great waitstaff and service as well!
Chelsey T — Google review
We visited the Braising Pan for lunch and it was overall excellent. It was very crowded (two large parties came in right after us) but the waitresses were still friendly and attentive. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and the schnitzwich with a side of chicken and dumpling soup. The biscuits and gravy were by far the best - the biscuits were light and fluffy, the gravy was delicious, and there was a perfect biscuit:gravy ratio. The schnitzwich was pretty good and crispy. The lemon aoili was very flavorful. The soup wasn't out of this world but it was pretty good. If we go back, we'd like to try the Reuben and the Challah fench toast.
Sarah R — Google review
We went there on a Friday evening and since we did not make a reservation, waited for about 30 minutes. That being said, the food and waitstaff were superb. My husband had the elk and I had the shrimp alfredo. So well done on both accounts. Many people were there for the fish fry and from the satisfied looks on their faces, they were equally pleased. Definitely call ahead and make that reservation before you go, especially on the weekends.
Liz — Google review
Stopped by here one weekend after a wedding up in Wisconsin. Unfortunately they are now only open for brunch. I was hoping to get those crab legs that I saw from other people's posts. Oh well. Hoping they'd bring it back. So this review just refers to the breakfast. I had the home made corned beef hash and it was good. Big portion, farm fresh eggs, crisp potatoes and sourdough toasts. Had a good strawberry jam too. Paired well with the bacon bloody Mary. That was definitely the highlight. They didn't have the decked out bloody Mary at that time either. The inside has a mix of booths and tables. Not too packed. Parking is easy in the parking lot. Overall I'd say a good place to stop by for breakfast.
Kim S — Google review
We had the Bourbon Chicken Sandwich (my husband) and the Cranberry Chicken Salad Sandwich (me) both with German Potato Salad as a side on our last visit. The food was good, service was ok, but for lunch, I think a better value could be obtained elsewhere.

All you can eat ribs Thursdays for around $13. BBQ flavors included house, honey, Jack Daniels , Jim Beam, and the best is Maple! All you can drink diet dew is plus points as always!!

Fantastic date night option. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and the servers are very welcoming and friendly. Plenty of food for the price. We ordered the smothered sirloin steaks and loved every bite. Can't wait to come back and try something different.

Very good main course. The sides were not very good but get I came for the salmon not the gravy with a side of potatoes. The cabbage was also a little sweet for my liking. But man oh man was the salmon delicious. Good wait staff as well checked in frequently.

Nature & Parks
Regner Park in West Bend is a vibrant outdoor space that comes alive with various activities and events throughout the year. In the warmer months, the park hosts outdoor festivals, concerts, and special events, offering a lively atmosphere for visitors to enjoy. The newly constructed outdoor stage frequently showcases local, regional, and national performances.
The kiddies had a great time. Just beware of the acrobats doing blind back flips on top of your kids. Also age appropriate music would be cool. Too many beer-drinking, closing-time-at-the-bar songs.

My boys completed the Dirty Ninja Mud Run this summer and couldn't wait to come back and do the inflatables. We didn't realize wristbands sell out - so I wanted to drop that here, book ahead online! We drove all the way there and they were at capacity. Hope to find another chance to go before they close for the season on Aug 17. Wristbands are $8 for the inflatables or the beach only is $4. The rest of the park is really fun too though. Pickleball/Tennis, Labyrinth, sports fields, Splash Pad, and Playground.
Postcard T — Google review
The Waterpark is great for kids. It can get a little crazy when too many kids are jumping on the bouncer areas at the same time- so be mindful of that. The life vest offer a peace of mind, but all of us in our group got a little roughed up so just be cautious. Make sure you &/or your child quickly move out of the way after jumping and check area prior to jumping. Life guards do a pretty good at monitoring this but better to be aware.

A beautiful labyrinth with gorgeous flowers. This is a place to revisit during all the growing seasons.

I've loved this park since I was a kid. A long time ago!! It's a very special place in West Bend. It holds many events and festivals. All for the community!! Soon the Christmas light show will begin!! Make special memories with your kids!! From swimming and the camp. To festivals and holiday shows. To just enjoying a walk. They have baseball in the summer. Along with fishing for the kids.
Scott G — Google review
Fantastic city park with swimming, mountain bike trails and walking paths. Baseball diamonds, basketball courts, fishing pond, multiple playgrounds, rentable oat buildings.
Bruce W — Google review
The inflatable obstacle course is so much fun. The kids had a blast. For me it was a great workout trying to keep up with the tweens and teens. For $8/person it delivers a great afternoon of fun for a hot day. The water is warm and they provide mandatory life vests. There are bathrooms (3) you can change in at the facility, and others you can use in different areas of the park.

Beautiful park. We rented a very nice pavilion in the entertainment area that looked out on the swimming hole. It is cool with it's sandy beach and inflatable park. The park department was very easy to work with. Bring garbage bags. They have very large metal ones that do not have garbage bags.

Riverside Brewery & Restaurant is a delightful riverside destination that perfectly blends casual dining with stunning views. Nestled along the Milwaukee River, this charming spot boasts an inviting atmosphere characterized by its elegant wooden interiors and warm color palette, reminiscent of a stylish hangout from the 90s. The menu features classic American favorites like juicy steaks, hearty burgers, and delicious paninis, making it an ideal place for family gatherings or friendly get-togethers.
Went on a Friday evening for dinner for the first time it was a good meal and pleasant service. Rihanna was great to our part of four. We all ended up with the great fish fry, fried perch, baked cod, with two fried walleye. I ordered the French onion as a starter SOOOO GOOD! A little sweeter than I’m used to but it was good. Along with the pixi stick and cranberry burst drinks!!
Larita L — Google review
I heard about Tuscan chicken panini so I gave it a try. Pretty good. The fries could have been a little more homemade and crispier instead of what tasted like frozen fries but not bad. Sandwich had good flavor. I would recommend.

Thank you for taking a reservation for our larger party. Thank you for seating us outside by the water. It was a beautiful evening after all the rain and heat. A real treat. Our server Terri was amazing. Amahe was knowledgeable about the menu, made great suggestions and was prompt, efficient and lovely. Food was great, drinks as well. Will be back
Cory C — Google review
Good fish fry. I got the 3 piece cod and it was a nicely sized portion. I had leftovers. The only thing I would change is that the sweet potato fries could have been a little more well done. Overall, delicious. Nice waitress. Reasonable price for the generous amount of food. Would recommend.
Ariel G — Google review
Great service and great food. We were able to sit out right on the river's edge and enjoy a perfect lunch stop.
Scott L — Google review
Really nice place. Small up top, but an expansive lower level with it's own bar (plus walk out to river). Good food options from Burger to wrap and such. Excellent Reuben and chicken panini. Apps for potato skins and chili also great. Oh yeah, nice beers too!
Bikes W — Google review
We had a great time here, the atmosphere was pleasant and we had nice window side seating with a cool view. Started with the fried cheese curds as you do when you're in Wisconsin and they were outstanding. Then went with the chicken cordon bleu panini and it was okay. Finished things off with a salted caramel cheesecake and it was remarkable. My bourbon came in a dirty glass and they replaced it right away. What place was very clean and neat. Wasn't too loud. The water also tasted bad.

Overall good experience! Dated but delicious is what I would say to summarize. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Service was quick. Food was delicious. Would love to sit outside next time.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Michaleno's Pizzeria. This charming eatery offers an extensive menu that caters to various tastes, including gluten-free options. Their ribs are generously slathered in a delicious gluten-free BBQ sauce, making them both flavorful and satisfyingly messy—just as they should be! One standout dish is their Mac and Cheese pizza, which boasts a rich cheesy flavor without being overly saucy.
Ordered the ribs and a Mac and Cheese pizza. The staff was very accommodating in helping with gluten free options. The ribs were soaked with great taste gluten free BBQ sauce. Tasted great and messy as it should be. Good portion for the price. The pizza was like eating Mac and cheese ( with lots of cheese). I was happy it was not almost all cheese sauce - as some other pizzas we have tried in this fashion.
Amber S — Google review
Friends had a babysitter leave leftover pizza from here and they ate it lol. They said it was the best pizza they had ever had. So this was our Friday 😁 fun. Seriously this was great pizza. My husband is lucky I didn't eat it in the car on the way home. My car smelled so good I was dying the whole way.
Court J — Google review
Sorry but……. Za is not good at all here. Looks nice but no flavor, canned mushrooms, sauce was very bland , only good thing was the sausage. Think the crust is bought frozen too tastes and looks like it. Only went here because our regular place was closed… was way too hot in there too. $5 for a pint of beer…
Lane L — Google review
First time ordering from here, we got delivery. Came much quicker than originally stated. It was very good! The dough was crisp and yeasty and the toppings were flavorful. Got the parmesan garlic dipping sauce which was great, and a huge cup for 60 cents! Overall a yummy pizza! Will order again!

Good food, with great flavor. fast service. Clean tables. Very well made very happy an left full. Glad we went.
Amy A — Google review
Very nice and cozy restaurant with a super friendly and attentive staff. Fresh ingredients on the pizza but needed more sausage. The mastaciolli sauce just didn't have a robust flavor, it was missing something. It was a great effort but a miss, though we may go back to try the lasagna and another dish to compare. It's been hard to find good Italian food in Washington County.
Jim P — Google review
Absolutely fantastic! I ordered breaded mushrooms and an employee promptly called letting me know they were out and what should they substitute. I picked cauliflower and it was seamlessly executed! Thank you so much for making quick, easy, and delicious meals delivered when I just do not want to heat the house up with cooking!!!

4 stars this time around... the food was great! 😃 But I was disappointed in the custard; I brought home a quart of double cookie dough & it was mostly vanilla custard, barely any cookie dough pieces. 😔

Had an amazing fish fry here the other day. I got cod and husband got perch and we shared. Both were absolutely delicious and generous portions. Also had a very tasty frozen custard sundae. Service was fine, they were extremely busy but the wait wasn’t too bad. Definitely adding toucans as one of our go to places.

Waller's on the Lake is a delightful dining destination that promises an unforgettable experience. Upon entering, guests are greeted with warmth and promptly seated at their reserved tables, ensuring a smooth start to the evening. The attentive staff is not only friendly but also well-versed in the menu, making recommendations for food and drink specials that enhance your meal. The atmosphere at Waller's is simply enchanting, especially with its stunning views of the lake.
Wallers on the Lake is a fantastic spot with a great atmosphere! The prime rib was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor—definitely a standout. And the free boat rides add such a fun touch, giving the whole experience a unique and memorable twist. Friendly staff, great views, and delicious food make it easy to recommend! Perfect for a relaxed outing on the lake.

Also informed us of the pontoon boat rides in summer! We will be back for sure! Excited for the summer visits! Picture is of their burger of the week which was so yummy! I had their prime rib special 😋 deeeelish!!!

Fantastic experience! We arrived early enough, and they sat us right in front of the window— beautiful view. Very friendly staff. We ordered Cheese Curds, Shrimp Scampi & 4 cheese mac & cheese with chicken. The cheese curds were good, the scampi was great — I would suggest to tone down the lemon as it was very overpowering. I loved the grilled chicken ( I’ll order chicken from this place anytime) It was very flavorful & cooked perfectly. The mac & cheese, however, could use something to add flavor as it was very bland on it’s own. Loved the complimentary boat ride on the pontoon! I shared feedback of the mac & cheese with the gentlemen driving the pontoon boat and before we left, he gave us a certificate to return—which I did not expect, but appreciate! We will certainly do so to try more of their menu & more rides around the lake. This is a great place for cozy date nights with the significant other or gathering with friends.

Last nite, March 15, was our first time back since Wallace Lake Supper Club became Waller's on the Lake. Did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly & shown to our reserved table promptly. Our server was friendly & attentive & well informed of the food/drink specials. Our party of six were celebrating a birthday. All of our food choices were delicious...the restaurant was VERY busy with many large groups but we never felt rushed. Highly recommend...we will be back very soon.

First time, came here for my Birthday dinner. The view of the lake is wonderful & you can sit outside. Waitress was outstanding and friendly. Wisconsin donuts, MUST TRY! Every thing was amazing. I would definitely come back if I was in the area & take the boat ride next time.

We were really disappointed with our experience. We had a reservation and were seated right away, but things quickly went downhill. When I ordered a dirty martini with no vermouth (I’m allergic), the server asked me, “Isn’t vermouth what makes it a martini?” I’ve been ordering this drink for over 15 years and have never once had a server question me like that. I even clarified by saying, “vodka up with olive juice if that makes it easier,” but being questioned as if it was a test felt unprofessional. Next, I asked for blue cheese olives, but the drink came out with plain green olives instead. Only after I asked did they mention they were out of blue cheese olives, and they never told me upfront. My husband and I ordered an appetizer, Caesar salad, and entrees. When the salads arrived, they had no croutons, even though the menu listed them, and every Caesar I’ve ever had includes them. When we asked, they eventually brought the croutons out, but we shouldn’t have had to ask. I ordered a second martini the same way as the first, and this time it didn’t even come with olives at all, I had to ask for them again. For a restaurant that presents itself as “high end,” the service and attention to detail were not even close. Having lived in Wisconsin for 5 years and visited many supper clubs, I can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. For the prices they charge, it was not worth it. I worked as a server for many years myself, and when this much goes wrong at one table, a manager should always stop by to check in. Ours never did, and it was clear they didn’t care. Bottom line: Not worth the money or time. There are many far better supper clubs in Wisconsin, and I won’t be returning.
Gina L — Google review
Always a great experience at Waller's. Our dinners were fantastic - I highly recommend the Truffle Mac. Our server, Rosie, was welcoming and efficient. The bar area is perfect for an after dinner drink. We will be back!

If you haven't been to Waller's on the Lake, you're missing out, Foodie Family! We were there for the first time last night and they did an amazing job from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted immediately by our friend Beth Rose and offered a drink from the bar, and if we wanted, we could take a relaxing history tour on the pontoon around the lake. YES, we certainly did! I highly encourage you to take the boat ride because it was both relaxing and extremely interesting—Captain Maxim Zernia really knows this lake's history. For dinner, we decided to try a range of options from starters that could have been considered dessert to some interesting new options we haven't had before! Everything was really delicious and we had no complaints at our table. My favorite item was for sure the Wisconsin Donuts! A Wisconsin cheese curd with a light and crispy funnel cake breading, served with house-made raspberry sauce. Absolutely delicious—you could start and finish a meal with an order of these treats. The Beet Salad was also a table pleaser, and Jake's PB Poppers were a hit. I had the Blackened Shrimp Bowl and Anne ordered the Pan Roasted Chicken. Our friends went with the Honey Bourbon BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and Cheesy Truffle Orecchiette. As I mentioned, we were a happy group because everything was delicious. Save room for their made-in-house dessert specials as well. We will be back for more soon! They have their official grand opening this Saturday starting at 4 PM, so why not head over and check them out? Even though they are already open, we think a celebration is in order! Join them on August 3rd for some great food and drinks, plus lots of giveaways. They will be giving away over $300 in gift cards, have some new merch for you to take home, and have some great specials for you to enjoy. Reservations are welcome, or just stop by and enjoy the party. Weather permitting, there will be pontoon boat rides and a fire with S'mores available.

Not quite as popular as Museum of Wisconsin Art, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

I advise against attending the fair on a sunny day without sunscreen and wearing unsupportive footwear. However, aside from these common precautions, the fair was exceptional. It offered a wide range of delicious food options and numerous activities to enjoy. I highly recommend visiting the Washington County Fair Park & Conference Center as it provides an enjoyable experience for all. There was also a collaborative praise and worship event where nine churches came together, creating an awesome atmosphere.
Had a very nice time with my Stepdad. Looked at a lot of beautiful geodes & gems from all over the world, even bought a gorgeous, sparkly, snow-white chunk of tanzinite!

Would have been nicer if they had the event for 2 days instead of 1, where it became a cattle stampede of Wall to Wall people. One could hardly get to talk with the vendor/craftsman because people pushing their money in their faces, or trampling you if you stopped. So why may I ask do people need to bring their pets to these craft sales?

Got asked to help run Drive you first tractor with Gathering if the Green. And was told they have really nice shower. No these are not the one light does not work do dark in the showers, the shower heads suck for pressure and the floor is broken so have to stand on the far side or u have a drop off. So makes u are hugging the wall to be under the water. Also no trash can in the shower area only on all the way on the other side of the bathroom. Also have signs all over that say germs wash ur hands then only has hand dryers which spread germs way more then paper towel. Not impress with bathrooms one bit. All the other areas real nice and well keeped.

Great craft show. Gifts of Love Pottery was here selling her hand made pottery and wool pincushions and applique. Visit the FB page for more info.

Stopped Here to help a friend setup for a craft show very nice layout of the park and I also saw on a lit billboard the band Foreigner is performing there . Awesome!

Very nice facility. Vendors work well together, good pricing, but management needs to be available @ friday set up, many of the vendors come long distance thru lots of traffic to be there after working all day.

Live music venue
Timmer's Resort is a charming lakeside dining destination nestled on the shores of Big Cedar Lake, just a short drive from downtown West Bend. This historic establishment has been delighting guests since 1882, offering a rustic cabin-style atmosphere that perfectly complements its classic American menu. Diners can enjoy their meals on the expansive outdoor patio while soaking in stunning views of the lake.
I don't normally review places but when we get the exceptional service we had for my daughter's shower I must share! Allison, the event planner was top notch. Every detail was perfect and she and her staff along with Bonnie were the reason. Allison was organized, efficient, and pleasant throughout the whole process. She communicated in a timely fashion and made sure all my questions were always answered. The food and setting were phenomenal. We had so many compliments from others on how it was the best event they had been to. Allison dealt with all the details and made my job so easy! They went above and beyond our expectations. And Allison was the reason! If you are looking to host an event that is elegant with great food, this is your venue! Thank you Mickey and Maria

Went to Timmers on Sat night with another couple. The Burgers were good. I ordered a baked potato with my burger but they gave me fries instead. Then they quickly put a baked potato on my plate. Good thing cause the fries were cold. Had the chicken Florentine soup which was very tasty. Service was really slow due to a wedding being held outside but we greatly enjoyed listening to the Me and Him band play in the bar area.

Beautiful Supper Club on Big Cedar Lake. High ceilings, fire place, wood trim, everything looked very nice. When we arrived the parking lot and street parking were crowded, but we were seated right away. As with every Supper Club I started with an Old Fashioned, which was fine, nothing special, but not bad. I ordered Shrimp Scampi with a side salad. The side salad was big, fresh, great dressing, delicious. The shrimp scampi was done perfectly, amazing flavor, I want it again right now. I don't often give 5 stars, I will go back to Timmers.

It's a cool place and the service is great but the food is just way overpriced and low quality. My wife and i got the New York strip ($68) and the bone in ribeye ($54). Both were cooked appropriately but were seriously lacking in flavor and chewy. I've had better steaks at Texas Roadhouse unfortunately. For $120 we expect high quality and it just wasn't there at all

My Sister and I both had the braised pork shank. Oh my goodness, this was the best restaurant meal we've had in years. We paired it with asparagus and loaded baked potato. Mitch, our Server, was sweet and attentive. We can't compliment this meal enough.

Delicious food with a view of the lake. A nice set of options. We had the walleye and it was exquisite and the BBQ Ribs were cooked to perfection. A short walk to the lake led to a beautiful sunset and perfectly clear water.

So hard to write this review, as this place has so much potential. Seated 45 minutes after our reservation. It was a Tuesday night, so not busy but not slow either. The hostesses tried her best however another table was still enjoying their night and the hostess indicated once they left we would be seated. We had cocktails and sat outside while we waited. We ordered immediately apon being seated. After another 45 minutes we asked our waitress if she knew when we could expect our food. She said they were backed up and she was not sure. We asked again after another 30 minutes past and she said that we had 2 more table in front of us. The room was 50% full, so it was hard to understand the large delay. We asked if we could speak to a manager and assured her she was not doing any wrong but this was too long to wait. The manager come and apologized but said she didnt know when our food would be up and the kitchen staff just said they couldn't go any faster. 30 more minutes passed and our food came out. 2 sandwiches, 1 scallop dish, 1 steak dish, and 1 chicken dish. The steak was order medium rare and come out well done. Almost seemed microwaved to reheat it. The baked potatoe was hard and not cooked enough to mash or eat, I tried. The beans were burned, not charred, burnt and so dried out they were shriveled up. The whole meal was not edible and we did not wish to ask for something else due to them already being overwhelmed. I asked if she could just take it off, which she agreed. They offered did give us a round of drinks, which some of us didn't wish for more drinks because we were in need of food. We spoke with the manager again at the end of the meal, and she offered us dessert. We decided to pass on it after waiting an additional 15 mins and no one took our order. My husband and mother spoke with the manager to share our feedback. The restaurant took care of our bill and we still tipped the waitress. We spent 50ish dollars on pre dinner drinks and about 50ish in a tip. Then we drove an hour home, disappointed in our experience but thankful for the waitress, hostesses, and manager who tried to salvage the experience. We were there to celebrate 2 birthdays and an anniversary.

We have been waiting for our food for over an hour and all we ordered was salad and soup. Not even a bread crumb while we wait. The bride is about to start eating the butter packets we’re so hungry. I have been gnawing on a tooth pick to keep from passing out from hunger. The salad was soggy and the everything had a hint of fish taste.

Loved the park! Our littles had so much fun on the playground. The only complaint is really, really needs more wood chips. It's so low that the toddler side is a bit dangerous.

A great spot to splash in the river is next to the bridge by Disc Golf hole 17. We had so much fun playing in the water and finding 2 geocaches nearby.

It's such a beautiful park. The building we were in was wonderful. Easy access for handicap. Bathrooms were clean. There is plenty of area to relax and watch the kids play on the outside playground .

Love to take our kids and family here for short plays at the playground or longer walks on the trails. We've taken our dogs as well and have such a great time. 10/10 recommend

I did ancient rituals in the pit. My buddy started levitating up and down saying he was growing the Amazon rainforest back. I don't blame the people that run the park i blame the couple who watched me fall from the monkey bars, landing on my neck and doing a backroll to save the day.

Amazing free disc golf course. Was in town to visit the girlfriends family and we got up early and got a round in at like 7 a.m. obviously wet at that time but the course was fantastic and a good mix of open and wooded!!

Campground
Lake Lenwood Beach & Campground offers a picturesque 20-acre, 50-foot deep spring-fed glacial lake, perfect for swimming and fishing. The campground provides spacious sites with the option to camp right on the water's edge or enjoy a day at the beach. Visitors can rent boats and kayaks for water activities and explore various fishing spots. The friendly owners maintain a clean and peaceful environment, ensuring an enjoyable stay.
We enjoyed our stay. We had a great spot overlooking the lake, which was perfect. They do a fantastic job of maintaining the campground. It’s clean and it’s organized. We drove in to Cedarburg and Milwaukee, which weren’t very far at all. The location is great. We didn’t utilize the beach area, but there’s a lot to do especially for kids. You can’t beat the price and we would definitely stay again.

Nice, quiet campground on a little lake. We stayed two nights. Staff was very friendly. Lots of seasonal campers that were very friendly and accommodating. The facilities are a little dated, but were clean and well maintained. It seems to be very kid-friendly because it was very quiet at night and there are lots of things for kids to do, especially once it gets warmer out. If we are in the area again, we would definitely stay here.

We’ve grown to love Lake Lenwood and have been making wonderful family memories here over the last few years. Love the peaceful lake that we’ve caught fish & frogs on. Very family friendly with the beach and awesome playground. Lots of picnic tables and we even liked exploring some of the walking trails & the disc golf course. The family that runs it is super nice and helpful. We can’t wait to come back next year.

Great campground! The beach is awesome, campsites are clean, and the picnic area is the perfect spot to enjoy snacks or lunch by the water. The owners are super friendly and make you feel right at home. We'll definitely be back!

Great experience. Was worried with the reviews but this place was amazing. My boys and I had such a great time. So much to do here. Super kid friendly. The lady checking people in was so nice and helpful. The only down side is knowing how to get in and out of the parking lot/ where to park. Definitely will be back.

I am sorry that this review is so very late! We needed to reserve a spot to store our motorhome for last summer. We had to change the dates a couple of times and then had to cancel. They were very helpful each time and even gave us a refund. Kudos! Thanks so much for your kindness and patience!

We have been to the campground the last few summers and are always treated great by the staff at check in. Our kids love swimming at the beach and there are a lot of activities to do by the beach along with hiking. Awesome location and we will continue to visit every summer.

Nestled in the heart of downtown West Bend, Gary's Place is a delightful culinary destination that promises an exceptional dining experience. With its inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, this restaurant is perfect for food lovers seeking something special. The menu features standout dishes like the Ruben sandwich, which boasts perfectly seasoned meat nestled between crispy bread, and a creamy chicken dumpling soup that tantalizes the taste buds.
I was surprised at how fast our food came out. Everything was delicious and our server was personable and funny. She did a great job. The food was good. We shared some sweet potato fries, had a wrap and tenders. Elevated bar fare. The space is decent sized but also quaint.... It was relatively busy for a thursday night but seating is spaced well.

I’m sorry, I really wanted to like this place, the location is great on the East Bank of the river on the bike trail and the patio is nice. Prices have increased considerably since the previous reviews. $30 entre. The ribs look great but were inedible. They did not come with a knife and I had great difficulty cutting them with a table knife, and on a plate that was too small to contain the food, which flew off onto the wire table .I’m afraid they were almost impossible to chew! I had asked my server what kind of ribs they were. She checked and told me they were back ribs. They were not, they were spare ribs, which I grew up on and loved, but one must cook the (@) out of them before they ever see a grill! They were smoky and well seasoned and had a delicious sauce, and adequate sides, but this was not a good choice today. The prime rib is only on Saturday, I hope they are worth it.
Jeff D — Google review
Brought 9 people tonight for dinner. It was Prime Rib night but not everyone got it. We had Bayou Mac, 2 prime ribs, cod tacos, 2 wings, French Dip and burgers (also different drinks). Service was great and the food was incredible! Best Prime Rib in town by far! Will be bringing more people back for sure!
Jenni T — Google review
We have been visiting Gary's Place at least weekly for about as long as it has been here. Good food. Great service. They are like family. However, at the bar, you've got to keep your wits about you. Some strange characters stroll in and the bartenders welcome all of them (see photo).
Mark ( — Google review
A cool location in downtown West Bend. They have a nice patio, bar, and dining area. The food tasted good and everyone enjoyed their meal. Some of the portion sizes were larger than expected. Our service was very strange, our server was taking care of our table inside as well as several tables on the patio. They had a lot of staff working, but it seemed a bit disjointed, several people checking in with us, but not paying attention to details.
Kenneth K — Google review
Had a very disappointing experience this evening. This is my sixth time visiting Gary's Place and it may be my last. The food usually is delicious, but tonight was very different. We were seated immediately, good waitress, good service, so that wasn't the issue. The issue was with the food. I ordered my usual which is chicken tenders and a basket of fries. They changed the chicken. It's no longer "real" chicken but the mechanically separated/spongy/ school cafeteria chicken. They also changed their fries. They used to have the best battered fries, and instead they're now using cheap, basic fries which were undercooked and cold when they arrived at the table. My husband's burger was also over cooked. It seems the prices have stayed the same, but the quality of food has taken a big dive. I think I read an earlier comment saying they lost their old cook. That explains it.....Expensive and total disappointment.
Jess C — Google review
The only reason why I’m giving it two stars is because of how nice the waitress was to me and my date. Unfortunately, I’m very sick with food poisoning, and I know for certain it’s from here. I had the hot turkey sandwich. Please take a look at your ingredients for that sandwich and throw them out. Something is contaminated. Very scared about going again and most likely won’t. Posting this review so that the restaurant can see this and act accordingly!
Mary W — Google review
Had the pleasure of dining here the other evening on their outdoor patio. Ordered the bruschetta and breaded mushrooms which were both so yummy. We also ordered the blackened shrimp tacos to split which were the perfect amount of spicy but fall apart very easy. We washed down all that food with the old fashioned flights, a must to try! Before our meals we had the French onion soup but unfortunately the bread absorbed all the soup so it was just mush. I had the French dip with no complaints and my partner had the spicy burger which he also enjoyed. Def recommend for the patio experience although service can be slow.

If you're on the hunt for a memorable dining experience, look no further than Longbranch Saloon. This charming spot has garnered rave reviews for its mouthwatering burgers, cooked to perfection and served with ooey-gooey cheese curds that are simply irresistible. The Long Branch melt is a must-try, featuring an abundance of cheese and savory meat nestled in a toasted hoagie.
My boyfriend said it's the best burger he's ever had. The cook on the burger was a perfect medium as requested. The cheese curds were ooey gooey, and plentiful with a nice crisp breading on them. The Long Branch melt was outstanding, with tons of cheese and meat on a toasted hoagie. The only issue I have is that I have to go back now multiple times to try the things on the menu that caught my eye, which was basically everything. The owner was absolutely fantastic, and the staff was very attentive. Food was fast, hot and so delicious.

It’s a classic and The Long Branch Saloon does it to perfection. The #ReubenSandwich was spot on delicious! I know you all have been talking about this place for months and I now understand why! The #burgers, #chickenwings and the #BLT were equally good. I posted about the desserts last night and let me encourage you to save room and make sure you order one or three! Worst case get one to go - #LateNightSnack! Pictured: Reuben Sandwich, WOW BLT, Long Branch Burger, Patty Melt, BBQ Chicken Wings, Mixed Berry Cheesecake, Pistachio Torte and Blueberry Flapjack Cake.

Great fish fry ! Tried cod and the special panko breaded walleye, with homemade fries. Also tried the portobello mushrooms lightly breaded. Everything was delicious!

This place made our day! They muddle their Old Fashioneds, their burgers/fries were excellent, but the best part were the Portabella Shrooms! We took dessert to go, but by the looks of it, it will be delicious. It really brought us back to the early 80's where that place was our stomping ground. Becky the owner did what she was supposed to be doing as an owner, mingling with the customers. No need to talk over the music, it was at a perfect level. Thank you!

Love this place. Staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. The food is great and new menu has something for everyone. I recommend the adult grilled cheese sandwich, chicken wrap, any hamburger and any one of their fish fry offerings. Their desserts are awesome. Just had their white chocolate cheesecake and it was perfect! Worth the trip to West Bend - old Barton Village for this hidden gem.

Amazing Food! I really enjoyed my recent meal at Longbranch. I had not been there in a few years, since new owners took over. This was a big mistake on my part because I have been missing out on some wonderful food. I had the Chicken Oscar and it was delicious, everything was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely five stars, I wish I could give them 10!

The Longbranch Saloon is outstanding ! I met my long time friends for a birthday celebration and we enjoyed the new owner establishment greatly. The people were friendly and service was excellent. Drinks, appetizers & sandwiches were 5 star in my book. My favorite is the corned beef & fries which was done to perfection. If you are in the Old Barton area, I recommend you stop in as you will not be disappointed. Best regards! Steve

Nuckleheadz Bar & Grill is a hidden gem that truly surprises with its spacious interior, despite its unassuming exterior. On a rainy Fish Fry Friday, the bustling atmosphere was palpable as patrons flocked for their famous cod fish fry and delicious potato pancakes. Diners rave about the perfectly cooked fish, which boasts a light seasoning and crispy batter, while the homemade potato pancakes are often highlighted as some of the best around.
My husband and I both had the code. I had the lightly breaded cod and my husband had the poor man's lobster. Both were excellent. The potato pancakes were also excellent. The service was awesome. Wonderful waitress with a great attitude. Very friendly. We will definitely be back soon.

Nice bar and grill. Beaver theme (go ahead and ask them why...lol). Friendly bartender and patrons. It's in the lower part of a building that looks like a house. Entrance is at back of building where most of the parking is.

My friend and I drove from Houston for a big geocaching event. After eating the poutine burger, I’m willing to drive another 18 hours just to eat another one. So much yum! Pro tip: heed the waitress’s advice to not smash the burger; it will squirt hot cheese out 😂

Restraunt is in the lower level of exposed ranch. Upper door looks like it is a residence. Arrived about 5pm on Friday, and seated right away. Limited menu on Friday to accommodate their fish selections. I had poormans lobster which was seasoned nicely served with drawn butter, husband had cod fry, crispy anf fresh. Food takes longer than expected to arrive. Will order appetizers next time.

Poor Man's Lobster was great. Service was quick and friendly. The dining was nice, away from the noisier bar area, but still a TV to watch the Draft.

Would have been good enough for a small town except for the waitress who was very unengaging and probably wished she was anywhere but there. Can't blame her. Kitchen was slow. On the brighter side, the drinks were good even though served with a snarl.

Day 3

Center of town
For day 3, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Museum of Wisconsin Art, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Downtown West Bend Association (DWBA). All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

The Museum of Wisconsin Art, also known as MOWA, is a hub for showcasing the works of over 350 artists with ties to Wisconsin. The museum boasts a collection of more than 5,000 contemporary and historical artworks. It focuses on celebrating the value, diversity, and uniqueness of visual arts and artists from Wisconsin. Located at Veterans Avenue since its establishment in 1961, the museum attracts an estimated 500,000 visitors annually.
United Way of Washington County held a late summer event at the Museum of Wisconsin Art and we were thoroughly impressed. Not only were we thankful to have a temperature-controlled space on a hot summer day, but the staff was incredibly accommodating, making sure every detail was taken care of. They went above and beyond to ensure the event ran smoothly, which made the experience seamless and enjoyable for us and our guests. The venue itself is stunning. The museum’s art-filled spaces were a perfect backdrop for our event, creating an atmosphere that was both sophisticated and welcoming. The Museum of Wisconsin Art offers a unique and elegant setting that’s sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests. We highly recommend MOWA to host your next special occasion.

Was disappointed with the museum overall. Expected there to be a number of works from a good number of Wisconsin artists. Nope. Instead it was just 4 or 5 galleries highlighting the works of lesser known (unknown, really) artists. You can go through them in an hour. Those displays were curated very nicely, and were excellent examples of artists with Wisconsin ties, but not what we were expecting. We'd suggest checking the website to see what artists are being displayed, prior to going, to see if they are of interest to you.

Great museum to spend some time and see some art. Interesting special exhibits of different artists and cultural forms. The building is large but it's just 2 floors so you can see everything in a relatively short time if it is limited. The building is a cool architectural work of art in itself. I only wish they would rotate more of the art from storage more. I always see Interesting pieces in there, but can't learn much about it when it isn't on display.

Attended the Chalk Art Festival. The chalk artists were amazing! There work was creative, colorful, and way above what the average person would be capable of. Lot's of art/craft vendors to peruse - all beautiful. Food trucks and drinks readily available. The museum was open to walk through free of charge. We enjoyed our time there, I'd say it was a very successful event.

We have been to this museum a few times. This time we were here for Chalk Fest, which was pretty cool. You could easily walk this museum in under 90 minutes. They have a nice mix of blown glass art, photography, paintings and sculptures

Recently, we waited over an hour for the Ho Chunk outdoor ash basket material demonstration, but the artists did not not show or contact the museum. It was disappointing and a bit worrrisome. The actual basket making class seemed well-attended so that was good.

Overall really enjoyed my time here, slightly smaller than what I expected but contained exceptional works and a great variety of styles and mediums. Also having their stored works visible was interesting. Really enjoyed the Frank Lloyd Wright chair exhibition.

A magnificent piece of architecture with a wealth of variety in the works displayed. It is smaller but, has works from traditional oils to modern mixed media. It is always spotless and the gift shop has a nice selection at all price points. I only rated it a four because, I would rate the Louvre a five.

The gift shop is small but does have quite an array of products. Everyone was friendly. We were there for the second Chalk and Art Fest which was amazing, including free entry. Many more vendors and food trucks than expected, both of which were very high quality yet reasonably priced. Very, very kid friendly, free live music, drinks, and significant upgrades to the grounds in progress. Highly recommended.

In The Bend, visitors can explore the area's rich history and natural beauty. Barton Pond features a picturesque mill next to a tranquil dam, while the Ice Age National Scenic Trail offers stunning views of a landscape shaped by ancient glaciers. The Bend itself is an iconic venue with a storied past, originally opening as a Vaudeville Theater in 1929.
The Bend is an experience everyone should have. Among other things they host wonderful coverage band shows that are true to the original artist and a whole evening of fun! The venue is beautiful and intimate... Not a bad seat in the house.

First time and will be back! Was in balcony first, but all seats gave great views and sound. Love the decor, cleanliness and friendliness of staff.

Very nice place to see a movie,a show, and any event here. They have good sound system and lighting. The inside was restored to the original state, when it opened initially.

We wanted to visit The Bend Theater for several months and finally had an opportunity on March 29 for day two of the Kettle Moraine Blues Fest, which was so much fun! The tickets for this event were reasonably priced. For this particular event, we were able to choose our seats on a first come, first serve basis; we chose to sit in the second tier of the balcony/upper seating type area, which we really enjoyed. Dancing is allowed from what we saw on their website and saw in person in front of the stage, which I thought was so awesome! We arrived about 30 minutes before start time and found some people had chosen seats, some people were ordering drinks at the bar area and others were getting popcorn. We stopped at the bar upon arrival to grab a couple of drinks which were reasonably priced with a wide variety of selections. We were later told by someone that there were a few drink specials that night, but didn’t realize this when at the bar; next time I’ll definitely ask about this as specialty drinks can be fun and delicious! The theater is very beautifully decorated and very comfortable and clean. The restrooms were very clean as well. We were able to find street parking within a short walking distance. The theater is located in the charming downtown West Bend area surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops. In viewing their website, we’ve found they have a wide variety of performances, as well as movies. We’ll definitely visit again!

Absolutely a gorgeous theater. I have been to many theaters in my time and this one is intimate, every seat is of perfect view, the bartenders and staff are very professional, the shows are above and beyond. I highly recommend getting your ticket inside this gem of West Bend.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The popcorn is ridiculously good—like, dangerously addictive. I’ve tried a bunch of flavors and haven’t been disappointed once. The prices are honestly way too low for how good it is… he could definitely be charging more. On top of that, the customer service is always top-notch. Super friendly and welcoming every single time I stop in. I’ve been here multiple times and it’s consistently a great experience. Highly recommend!

Nestled in the heart of downtown West Bend, Krimmer's Restaurant is a delightful haven for food lovers seeking a blend of casual elegance and fine dining. Since its inception in February 2015, this charming eatery has become a go-to spot for those looking to indulge in expertly prepared steaks and seafood dishes, complemented by hearty sides and an impressive wine selection.
If you are looking for a delicious steak, I highly recommend the fillet at Krimmers. The 10oz was a great size, had a delicious char on it, and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Special thanks to our server Jack for being fast with the drinks and always was checking on us. I highly recommend eating here. :)

Way over priced for what we got!!! The food tasted great and service was good but $45 for a tiny piece of meat with no side is ridiculous. Plus you could taste the LP gas they cooked it on. For a Saturday night at 7pm there was only 1 other group eating in there. I guess we should have realized why.

We had another outstanding meal at Krimmer’s. It’s become our favorite place to go for a nice dinner. One of the best fine dining establishments around! The waitstaff is awesome, very attentive and friendly. Anytime we’ve dined here we always have a pleasant experience. The steaks were cooked to perfection. We love the crab cakes as an app. You can’t go wrong with any of the sides and the strawberry creme brûlée is a must! I highly recommend this place.

I am writing this review in hopes that the owner will see it and make some changes. My husband and I chose this restaurant for the atmosphere and knew the food was very good. We had reservations for early evening. The greeter is also the server and bartender. She was the only server up front and had 7 tables. We were given our drinks but waited a long time to put our order in. When she finally came to us, we decided to leave. Even though she told us she was caught up, we knew we would probably wait for awhile before our food would be brought to us. We watched her working hard and left her a nice tip for our drinks because we felt bad for her. There really should have been 2 if not 3 servers in front. This place gets very busy.

Unfortunately this was not great. I spent 320 for family of 6 to eat dinner tonight. For the price this was sad experience but we just went with it since we were out celebrating. Steak overcooked ordered med rare and came med well, salmon was not like I have had it last 5 times (overcooked plus missing normal sauce on top just a small teaspoon on the side. No garnish on any plate, bread was small and dry, butter was size of half tablespoon and was for 6 people to share. Had to ask for more bread and butter twice because there wasn’t enough served for the people at the table. no lemons avail had to run to the basement, service was slow, cookies were not like they used to be either …. Idk what happened. Used to be a fan favorite. Waitress charged us gratuity for the 4 adult and 2 kids. She made $50 for not great experience. Good for her. Everyone was polite in my party as they were like it was fine…. Embarrassing when you want to take people out to nice meal. Everyone said when we left we should have went to copper dock or fox and hounds. Sad waste of money tonight, feel sad about our decision as no one likes to waste money.
Anne J — Google review
I enjoyed trying the new menu options. We went with the Swedish Meatballs, Beef & Noodles, and gnocchi sausage stuffing. I normally choose Krimmers if in the mood for a steak (dry aged ribeye with blue cheese). They now have a lot of alternative pasta and entree dishes. It is a lot more versatile; we will be frequenting more often.
Kathrine K — Google review
Small but beautiful space with cozy, romantic atmosphere. Perfect for a date night or couples night out. Six of us went for a New Years Eve dinner and were impressed by how only two staff members were able to handle pretty much everything. (Special shout out to our girl Hanna who took care of us and made an excellent dirty martini!) The Clam Chowder had a hint of spice after each bite, which I enjoyed but my husband wasn't sure about. The Alaskan Red King Crab Legs (1 lb) came out to be about 2 legs, and were a tad overcooked, which was disappointing at $80/plate. While the steaks were all good, the Bernais sauce had too much lemon. The consistency was not thick and creamy. Everything else we had was very delicious however, and we would definitely go back. The Grilled Asparagus and Mashed Potatoes (skins on) were very good as sides, and the Seabass was flavorful and flaky.

Nestled in the heart of West Bend, Sal's Pizzeria is a charming family-owned spot that brings a taste of New York City right to your plate. Known for its mouthwatering slices and whole pizzas, this cozy nook also serves up delicious calzones and homemade cannoli. Guests rave about the crispy mozzarella sticks and the Supreme Stromboli, which many prefer over traditional calzones.
This was such a great experience. Met up with friends I haven’t seen in awhile and we got to sit without interruptions. Pizza was delicious!! The garlic knot with every slice PERFECT it was warm and perfect melted in my mouth. I order bacon chicken ranch pizza!! It didn’t look too good sitting in the display but once they pop it in the oven delicious. And they have Pepsi products and offered refills while we sat. THANK YOU and did I mention reasonably priced. $7.50 slice garlic knot and soda!!

Wanted to try to find a local, regular pizza delivery spot and it appears this is not it. Ordered a single medium pizza, mozzarella sticks and “famous” garlic knots. First, the confirmation gave us a 25 minute delivery window, 30mins after time of placing the order. 30mins after this delivery window, I called the store to inquire about my order and was told it was just sent out because they are busy. Ten minutes later the delivery driver hands me a cold box, not even warm to the touch on the bottom. The garlic nots state that they come with 3 and I only received 2. I also ordered extra sauce that is nowhere to be found. Flavor was okay once I heated things up again in the oven. Thoroughly disappointed with this experience. Definitely, do not recommend.

After multiple trips here I had to review. This pizza is Fresh fresh fresh… I normally order a deep dish, but this time mixed it up but all pizzas flavors never disappoint. Can’t remember the pizza I ordered this time but the family loves all of their regular crust pizza. And the complimentary garlic knots, delicious! First time ordering Stromboli, and we’ll look at it, spinach and feta. Yumm My only suggestion is Hawaiian need more pineapple.

Hot and ready delicious slices straight from the oven. Super friendly and even gave my Sicilian son a tour of the ovens. Will be going back for a slice every time I am in the area. Especially for the farmers market.

Fantastic New York style Pizza. The crust had just enough crispness and tenderness to crackle when you fold it in half. The Garlic roll comes with it and Id add a marinara sauce for dipping. They also warm up your slice before serving in the pizza oven. I'll be back many times for sure. Highly recommend this place for great Za.

Pizza was good. Employee had an attitude when asked basic questions about pricing and the bathroom. Table condiments were practically empty. Would only recommended if you’re in that town, wouldn’t go out the way at all for it.

What's not to love? A New York style pizzeria right here in West Bend. Been to the East Coast many times, and this cozy little place is very reminiscent of East Coast pizza parlors. The thing is is that I usually come for gyros because they are absolutely the best in town. But how can you not go home with a piece of that pizza, or a whole pie? It smells wonderfully of garlic knots in there. The gyro meat is broasting in the front window. Absolutely delicious. You cannot go wrong with anything you order here. Friendly staff as well.

Nestled in a beautifully restored 19th-century building, The Idle Hour Or Two is a charming spot that offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for breakfast or lunch. With a menu featuring delicious sandwiches and other bar fare, guests can also enjoy local wines and craft beers. The decor is thoughtfully curated with antique accents, creating a unique ambiance that enhances the dining experience.
In March, I hosted a small baby shower for my best friend at Idle Hour. The space provided an amazing backdrop for a "little cutie" themed baby shower. Food was fresh and delicious. The vibe was chill. And the staff were some of the loveliest, most accommodating, most kind group of young women I've ever encountered!Needless to say, the shower was a flawless event and everything I had dreamed of in my planning! An excellent little place in West Bend. Menu not extensive, but food is well prepared and delicious. Place has a very historic feel and look. Their scones are scrumptious and the coffee is hot. My new favorite restaurant in West Bend. The food is delicious and well priced. The decor is old and but very charming. Unfortunately, I do have one concern...perhaps room for improvement for the future. They leave their front door wide open while open for business. It is actually a very welcoming European touch and provides a nice cross breeze thru the restaurant. However, throughout my whole meal, there were 3 pesky flies who kept landing on my food, drinks and table. The waitress and cook noticed me swatting at them and they did their part by swishing them away, but to no avail😣. Perhaps a screen door on the front door someday would help? Cindy

The Brazen Head Pub, a relaxed haunt, offers a wide selection of beverages and classic American cuisine. Established in 2003, it had its official grand opening on St. Patrick's Day. Situated on Main Street, this drinking establishment stands out from the crowd with its regular exciting events. Despite ongoing construction work nearby, ample parking is available at the back. This place deserves support for its excellent food and service, providing a delightful dining experience.
This is one of my “go to” pubs when in the West Bend area. It’s a tight space. Difficult if you have a party above 4. Most tables are setup for 2. But the food (burgers and wings) are awesome. Great friendly service. We happened in on a Thursday. Wing night. Great flavors. Suggest the Garlic Parmesan and the Buffalo sauce. Delicious! Just a fun pub feeling. Well lit, clean and excellent food

Build-Your-Own Burger 1 Bun: 3.75/5 The brioche tastes great, but doesn't hold up to the large amount of toppings. Toppings: 4.75/5 Lettuce, pickles, cheddar, mayo, mustard. All toppings are fresh and work well together. Tons of pickles! Burger meat: 5/5 A 1/2 lb angus made with fresh beef. Suuuuper juicy! Flame broiled, charred nicely, and seasoned well. Overall: 4.7 Amazing fresh beef cooked perfectly! Great fries and atmosphere too! Build-Your-Own Burger 2 Bun: 3.75/5 The brioche isn't enough to handle the beef and leaves your hands messy after every bite. There's a pretzel bun option, so maybe go in that direction. Toppings: 4.53/5 Fried onions, American cheese, BBQ, mayo. Onions cooked perfectly, the BBQ was delicious, and a good quality cheese. Burger: 5 1/2 lb Angus cooked perfectly Overall: 4.63/5 Highly recommend!

First time here. We came to taste a burger from the winner of the 2025 Wisconsin Beef Associations, Best Burger contest. And let me just say, if you like a good burger this (may be) the place for you. It's located on Main Street in West Bend. This area has gone through a real renaissance. The fixed up the street and sidewalks, have angled parking, and the lighting a nice. It's a real treat to be able to walk in this area of small shops and businesses. No stripmalls or big box stores. Very nice city planning! Came with a couple of friends, around 11:30. The Brazen Head Pub is one of many bars and restaurants in this area. This pub is pretty typical layout. It's long and narrow, a little dark (lighting and wood), has a long bar, and then a few high top tables. There is one larger table towards the rear that holds 6 people. Since there were 3 of us, we grabbed a high-top and stole a chair from the next table. (we had 4 people, not sure what we would have done). There was only one person (John) running all the table and managing the bar, and a couple of people in the small kitchen. John (our server) got to us after a short wait. Got our drinks and order placed right away. We ordered some Cheese Nuggets (white cheddar curds) and 3 different burgers. You can either "build your own" or order the standard "Brazen Head Beer Cheese Burger". The curds came out almost instantly. They were hot, with a side of ranch. They were good (not great, a little too much breading for my tastes). We waited a bit for the biggers, but they ended up being worth the wait. All were made perfectly to order, hot, lots of flavor, and very good portions. The Brazen Head Burger was tall, but manageable. The different elements were distinct and complementary. The cheese sauce had a big of a tang. The fries were okay, but could have been hotter. While we were there, the place filled up. Lots of other small groups, some at the long bar. With the additional people it got to be pretty noisy, to the point that it was hard to have a conversation. It didn't help that there was a speaker, right over the tables, with loud music. With only one person running all the tables, after our food came out, it was difficult to get our servers attention. Extra napkins and getting our check was a challenge. The experience was mixed. Definitely a place to get an amazing burger, cooked perfectly to order. However, the noise and the service (due to their popularity) was a bit lacking. I wish them luck as they adjust to their new popularity.

My husband and I were looking for a new place to try on a rare child-free night and decided on this one. We don't normally go to bars since neither of us drink but that is the standard restaurant model in downtown West Bend outside of a few select places which we've already tried. I was particularly looking forward to see if the fried fungus was similar to Jug's as I love theirs. We sat down right away at one of the high tables which already had menus waiting. It was the only open table and the bar was about 3/4ths full around 5 on a Friday night but it was quiet enough to still have a conversation easily. The music was good (90's-early 2000's pop-rock) and just the right volume. It took the waitress a bit to come over which was fine as we were still figuring out what to try. She got our order in and grabbed drinks quickly. We started with the cheese curds and fried fungus which came out quickly. The cheese curds have a nice light breading similar to the ones you'd get at King Pin for those familiar with them. The fried fungus which is strips of portobello mushrooms was a bit of a surprise. They seem to be lightly dredged in a seasoned flour and then fried straightaway. It definitely wasn't what I expected but they were good nonetheless. The only thing I do wish is that they'd been a bit more uniform. The thinner slices were a great blend of portobello and spice with a crispness but the thicker ones lacked enough spice to complement the flavor. At least you knew that someone actually had taken fresh mushrooms and prepared them rather than them being air fried out of the freezer. For the main course, my husband had the Italian Stallion sandwich with the special of the month fries (mesquite I believe) while I opted for the chicken bacon club and swapped out the hoagie roll for a pretzel bun and regular fries. The sandwiches came out just as quickly as the appetizers which, given that almost everyone there including the people at the bar was ordering/eating meals also, was a pleasant surprise. My husband loved his sandwich and said it had just the right amount of heat and plenty of meat. I also enjoyed my sandwich and was glad that I swapped the buns. The chicken is slices of chicken breast instead of a solid single breast which was honestly nice. It was tender and juicy along with allowing all the flavors to come together with each bite. Fair warning, if you are sensitive to garlic, you may want to swap the garlic mayo for regular. Since I love garlic, it was absolutely perfect and tasted like it had been made there with freshly crushed garlic cloves! The specialty fries had a good flavor and kick. The regular fries are pretty standard. If you're expecting a traditional Irish bar with bagpipe music and Scotch eggs, this isn't it, but it is a great local place to have a delicious and filling dinner worth eating. The bartenders and waitresses were friendly and relaxed as were the other patrons. Always a good sign especially on a busy Friday night. By the time we left, the place was full up. We will be back to try other menu items since the burgers looked amazing as well!

Open late. Very cozy in an Irish pub way. The server/ bartender was super attentive and had great energy. Cheese nuggets were yummy.

I LOVE burgers! This was a 1/2 lb burger with beer cheese and onion tings on a pretzel bun. I finished it all!! So delicious! Voted BEST BURGERS in April 2025!! And yes they are!!

I heard they won an award for best burger in Wisconsin so naturally I had to try it.....not exactly the best burger in Wisconsin. Whoever gave them that award needs their taste buds checked.
Brian R — Google review
The food was really good we had a group of 4 and 3/4 tried a burger of some sort. All 3 were cooked tonorder and very flavorful. The patty was perfectly pressed allowing for a good mix of juice and taste. The fixings were all fresh and the beer cheese addition was magnificent!! The fry of the month was a seasoned waffle fry which reminded us of Dotts pretzels extremely good! We also shared some curds they came striaght from the deep fryer and were really nice and stringy and had a great crispy batter and flavor. The beer was cold and selection was ok. The cook was amazing and brought us the food and checked back. The bartender on the other hand...well he left a lot to be desired from being rude, short, and seemingly in a bad mood. At one point we asked him for napkins as he turned away and he never acknowledged us. It was quiet maybe 7 others in there he couldn't have missed the request. The cook came by to check on us and handled getting us utensils and napkins. It's unfortunate the bartenders attitude almost overshadowed such a good meal. We'd go back to give them the benefit of the doubt. If that's his normal he either doesn't like new ppl or needs to find something else to do. Kudos to the cook tho he was above and beyond and for that we thank him!

Nature & Parks
Ridge Run Park East is a stunning 140-acre park that offers a variety of activities for visitors throughout the year. In warmer weather, guests can explore hiking trails, fishing docks, and playgrounds. As the seasons change, the park becomes an ideal spot for snowshoeing and sledding on its impressive hill.
My son and I hiked in from a back trail while visiting my daughter in Wisconsin. We didn't know what a beautiful park we were about to find. From the back trail, we found a soccer field first. Then we saw a small playground. Then we found the lake. Really a great surprise on our short walk.

I love how quiet Ridge Run is. My family loves the tennis courts, which i feel are the least used in West Bend, so it's nice they are always available when we want to use them. However, they are on the dirtier side because of not being used as much and the nearby trees. The trails aren't bad from the little bit I have done and the pond is relaxing too sit near. The only big downfall for me is that the playground equipment is very high, and as a shorter person, it is a little difficult to get my son in and out of the toddler swings and the slides are very high off the ground. When I sit on the slide, I can't touch the ground, so I can't imagine what that is like for a child.

Ridge Run County Park is fantastic. I do plenty of bird watching and trail hiking here! There are no truly 'difficult' trails, but the entrance to the trail surrounding Boot Lake from the primary entrance is a bit steep! Anyways, there are barred owl, cardinals, robins, swallows, sparrows, and plenty more. Oftentimes, there are a handful of mallards in Boot Lake. There is a fantastic area leading to the Silver Creek area along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Overall, this is an extremely clean park with low traffic on weekdays and moderate on weekends. Definitely a family friendly environment, so bring the kids!

We were trying to enjoy the park for our church picnic for the 3rd year in a row, and never had any issues with park goers, we paid for the larger covered pavilion as we always do, but this year we were met with opposition by other park attendees, of whom called the police on us twice because we are a Predominantly African American church and were lied on as well the other said party of all Caucasian people proceeded to come and take pictures of everyone's license plates (WOW!!!!!) AND EVEN ONE OF THE POLICE OFFERS (A CAUCASIAN LADY) PROCEEDED TO GO OVER TO SPEAK WITH THEM LAUGHING AND TALKING...But with us, she called for backup I'm going to assume because I am a pastor, my aunt and uncle Apostles were asking how was this behavior okay... We will be speaking with park officials Monday morning when we return the keys 🔑... But in the end, we as Christians went over to the people to let them know that we as children of God would like to extend our hand of fellowship and love and asked if we could give them a godly hug 🫂they excepted and we apologized for any confusion or misunderstanding . . . side note the male police officer, we invited him to enjoy a burger off the grill and a cold soda and he was honored and obliged, but the female officer hurried back to her squad car.

Nice park. Has things for the kids. You can picnic or fish or walk the trail. The only bad thing is the way the main trail is set up. It's very long and challenging. But it goes from the park to paradise drive. Which is a long way!! There's no distance markers on the trail. So if you do the whole thing. You must turn around and walk back along the same trail. This results in about a ten mile hike!! There are no sub trails to adjust your hike length!! And no loop to take you back where you started. So if you have a friend that can meet you at paradise drive lot. You'll do about 5 miles. So be prepared!! The scenery is wonderful!!

The Tower Heritage Center in West Bend offers a captivating journey through the area's rich history, from the Ice Age to modern times. The museum features diverse exhibits for all ages, including a 27-room Zinn Dollhouse, a real wigwam, and a fur trading post. Visitors can also explore the scenic surroundings, such as Barton Pond with its charming mill and the nearby Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
Absolutely wonderful museum. Historical items presented in each room. Loved learning about the area and its ancestors.

This is a local treasure of information and architectural beauty. Everyone should stop in to walk the lovely grounds, visit the outdoor memorials, and tour the Washington County Jail and Museum. The center also has a beautiful courthouse that can be rented for weddings and celebrations and an amazing dollhouse and native american interactive area where kids can touch and see things to make their experience more real. I am a fan of the previous executive director, but I am not certain of the new director's approachability or devotion to the organization. Time will tell. Go check it out for yourself, and don't miss the Memorial Day and Veteran's Day celebrations--they are heart-warming and wonderful to witness.

We rented the Tower Heritage Center for my daughter’s bridal shower. It was the perfect place to host the event. Steve was so accommodating and helpful. He went above and beyond to make our day memorable! The venue is gorgeous which made decorating a breeze. Many of our guests had never been to the space and were thoroughly impressed with its beauty and history. I highly recommend checking it out if you need a space for a social gathering.

Great museum in the 100 yr old restored courthouse. Various rooms highlight local history beginning with Native Americans and includes many hands-on activities. It also features displays on Regal Ware and a 'war' room which honors our veterans without sgar coating war. Be sure to ask if you can get a tour of the jail next door, the docent gives a fasicating glimpse into the life of the sheriff.

West Bend Community Memorial Library is a beloved local gem in the West Bend community, offering a wide range of books and resources for all ages. The library hosts various programs tailored to children and teens, promoting literacy and education while providing a fun environment for kids. Visitors appreciate the comfortable workspaces, private rooms, and amenities such as a Keurig machine and copy machines.
Librarians are ways so helpful and the amount of resources is so much better than when I was a kid. Not to mention that they are always listening to suggestions and improving where they can.

Reasons to love this library: ✨️ Activities for kids, and adults each month! ✨️ You can check out puzzles ✨️ Coffee and tea available upstairs (for a $1 🙂) ✨️ My boyfriend needed wifi to download a game, and we're in the process of moving out so no wifi at home for now, and he was able to bring his PS5 and a small TV to use in a small study room to finish downloading the game while I looked at books 🥰 ✨️ Open till 9 PM Monday-Thursday!

It's a good place for the most part I do however think that having time limit on computer use is pretty stupid. I would understand having to get off if someone else needed, but limiting us to 2 15-minute sessions is kinda outrageous.

The librarian who "helped" me left a LOT to be desired. The library on a whole seemed very nice. But the lack of customer service skills (or use of skills) was awful. It may be helpful to have the library staff read books on customer service or take a class. And who knows maybe the women who was "helping" dose know how to behave properly and was simply having a bad day and choosing to take it out on me but bad day or not I believe higher standards would be beneficial for the community.

The West Bend Labyrinth Garden, located within Regner Park in West Bend, is a serene and beautiful earth sculpture designed in the style of a seven-circuit Cretan labyrinth. Maintained by dedicated volunteers, this 90-foot diameter garden features grassy pathways lined with vibrant gardens filled with annuals, perennials, herbs, bulbs, and ornamental grasses. It offers visitors a peaceful outdoor experience and serves as an urban oasis just a short walk from The District.
Was a little unsure is it was open. There is a gate but you can get in. I think it is there to keep animals out. Still a lot of flowers to look at. Nice memory stones around the edge. Very relaxing and peaceful. It was a lovely little place to visit.
Emily D — Google review
A gem of West Bend, this piece of the park is especially peaceful. The walking labyrinth is edged with botanicals throughout and there is a bench for sitting in contemplation. This precious feature is lovingly cared for by volunteer gardeners, two of whom were working during my visit. They were kind enough to share their love for and information about the space. The Labyrinth Garden is part of the larger community park which is equally meticulously kept and includes water access, play areas, etc.

The Labyrinth Garden is truly a hidden gem within a hidden gem. Nestled inside Regner Park, this peaceful, meticulously kept sanctuary offers a magical escape. Our walk along the lush grass through the winding labyrinth was surrounded by vibrant blooms, fluttering butterflies, and busy bees that seemed happy to join us for photos. It felt like stepping straight into the pages of a storybook — a beautiful and serene experience.

This is such an amazing and peaceful place with a tall gate and fence around to keep the deer away from the flowers and labyrinth path. There is a bench at the center and you can purchase memory stones for an individual or business that are placed around the outside perimeter of the labyrinth. The garden and flowers are all maintained by volunteers in the area who are knowledgeable and dedicated to proving a wide plethora of blooming perennial and annual flowers so that there is color and beauty throughout most seasons.

Nestled in a historic 1858 building, The Orville is a delightful dining destination in West Bend that invites you to embark on a culinary adventure. This warm and inviting venue specializes in steaks and globally inspired dishes, making it a must-visit for food lovers. Guests are treated to an exceptional experience with attentive service and mouthwatering offerings like grilled octopus, steak tartare, and perfectly cooked filet mignon. The cozy atmosphere is complemented by farm-fresh ingredients that highlight classic Wisconsin flavors.
We had an "accidental" date night at The Orville tonight and had a super nice experience. We're new to West Bend and decided to try some new places, didn't know what to expect at The Orville, but suffice to say it was great. Quaint and well decorated, it bring the charm of an old world establishment into the 21st Century. I had the rosemary chicken and my wife had the Bolognese, both with a side Orville side salad and toasted house sourdough bread. It was all very good, and the staff was friendly and very attentive. We will definitely be back and suggest it for anyone wanting a dinner a notch above and beyond.

We absolutely loved The Orville! Went to celebrate my husband's birthday and Valentine's Day, but decided to skip the hustle and bustle of V-Day. Sam was such a sweet and attentive waitress, couldn't ask for better service! We had the best artichoke dip I've ever had, I think it was the grilled toast that really did it, but the dip was amazing too! I had Lobster Mac & Cheese and my husband had a beautiful salmon dish...both perfect, and can't wait to have the leftovers from my Mac (huge chunks of lobster!). I had a lavender martini, simply lovely and delish! Tried my husband's old fashioned and yummmm to that too, had a cinnamon twist to it. We'll be back, hands down. And the ambience and lighting make for a very romantic time. Oh and they gave my husband a birthday card that everyone signed! Gave him a choice of dessert, just so sweet, no pun intended. It would be hard to find a better salted caramel creme brulee. Then since we had a late reservation Sam so kindly said we could take all of the remaining roses 🌹 🌹 🌹. They smell heavenly. Thank you all, we're so excited to have found you, when I heard it was the sister restaurant of The Norbert I knew it would be fantastic, but that's an understatement!!!

We came here to celebrate our anniversary and we had the best time! My husband go the peach old fashioned and I got the sweetie drop! It tasted just like a sweet tart! Then we got some spinach and artichoke dip! Sooooo good! I swear I could go on and on about the food! Our waitress was also super friendly and attentive! We can’t wait to go back!

First time here. Came with another couple. We had 6:00 p.m. reservations. The building has been lovingly restored, with bar and dining areas on both the first and second floors. We were seated right away on the second floor at a regular table. There are also some high-tops that were being used for parties of two. Our waitress did a great job getting us waters, menus, and our first drink order. She also let us know what the weekend specials were. We started with the Spinach Artichoke Dip, which was very good. It came with a bunch of pieces of grilled sourdough bread, which complemented the dip nicely. Our drinks were good, though I felt the Golden Hour Paloma was a little underwhelming. For entrées, we ordered the Grilled Salmon, the Orville Salad (with shrimp), the Filet Mignon, and I had the special, “Inferno” — a grilled tenderloin filet on top of a deep-fried portabella mushroom, served on spinach with a touch of sriracha. While waiting, the server came over to update and apologize for the delay. I only mention this because I really didn’t think the wait was unusually long (but I appreciated their attentiveness). After a few more minutes, our food arrived, and it was excellent — served at good temperatures, with terrific flavors and generous portions. The special (filet on mushroom and spinach) was excellent. The filet was ordered medium rare but came out closer to medium; still, it was very good. The fried mushroom was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sauces were an excellent complement and tied everything together. I would definitely order that again. The noise level was good overall, though there were moments — when seating new tables or during the ordering process — when it got VERY loud. I wouldn’t have wanted that to last the whole time. Throughout the evening, we were well attended to. Friendly, efficient service with great follow-through (thanks, Rachel). The Orville goes on the “Must Come Back To” list. :)

What a wonderful dining experience! Nice to have a place in West Bend that knows how to prepare exceptional food. Tenderloin was absolutely cooked to perfection...melted in my mouth! The surprise of the night was there were 3 women, myself included, enjoying a birthday celebration. Our server, Brooklyn, was attentive and pleasant. We even had a visit from Henry! Highly recommend and is our new "go to" spot for dinner.

I came here for a wedding shower. This restaurant is so charming. I wish I would have taken pictures of the inside. The atmosphere is so neat. The food and service are out of this world. They also have great cocktails.

By far the most exquisite meal ever. Tried a little of everything. The tuna tartare was fresh and so flavorful. Steak, pasta, cheese curds, and a shared desert later and we were in heaven. Julia, our server, was super friendly and gave outstanding service. She happily checked on egg and even double checked when my “cream sauce paranoia” kicked in. The kitchen even subbed marinara in for the ranch without asking so both of us could enjoy them with sauce. Their chef/sou chef are wizards in the kitchen. Cooked to perfection, plated beautifully, and each and every dish was seasoned to perfection! We came in at about 6, without reservations and were seated immediately, but the dinner crowed filled in the downstairs as the night went on. It was pleasantly quiet when we were eating, I’d not recommend eating downstairs if you have a loud/large group or need a lot of privacy. The do have an upstairs dining room that we did not see. Will absolutely be coming back here to try more dishes. Feels like a night on the town in NYC more than a fabulous meal in West Bend!

If you're on the hunt for authentic Mexican cuisine and ingredients, look no further than La Mexicana Grocery Store. This charming spot has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The welcoming owners create a warm atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Diners rave about the delicious tacos and burritos, with many noting the exceptional quality of their food. One standout feature is their incredible salsa, reminiscent of what you'd find in California or Arizona taco shops—definitely worth trying!
I love this place - they have the most amazing salsa in the refrigerated case near the register. I haven't had salsa this good since I lived in California and Arizona (this is the red and green sauce you would get with your food at the local taco shops). The owners are super friendly and accommodating, and the food is amazingly delicious. I highly recommend!

Wow. Am I glad we found La Mexicana Grocery. We are from the area originally - but live in Arizona now. We spend our summers in the Midwest. That said. We know Mexican food. We have a Taco Tuesday group and go out every Tuesday to different Mexican restaurants each week. Since we are here in the West Bend area - we decided to try La Mexicana (for the restaurant) not the grocery store - for Taco Tuesday. What a gem of a find! I have driven by this store many times and never realized there is a small cantina restaurant in the back. The owners are awesome and make some of the best burritos I have had to date. And that’s saying something. These burritos rival some of the best we get in Arizona. But right here in Wisconsin. This is a down to earth place. You walk through the grocery store to reach the restaurant in the back. Simple and delicious food served by people that make it with love. This is a small place and the owners do the work. No staff. Expect a wait if they are busy. But they are worth the wait. I think our burrito weighed nearly 1.5lbs! Big and delicious. We got the Carne Asada (which was great) and the pastor (with pineapple). Both loaded with ingredients. The green and red sauce are excellent. The red had a good level of spice. But it is hard not to continue eating it - even as you get that burning sensation - it is so good. The burn doesn’t hang around. It’s really good. You can dine in, but we did do “take out” as it was near closing time. The menu is small. Mostly tacos, burritos, tostada, enchiladas, tortas and a chimichanga. A huge selection of ingredients to try in any of these items including lingua, chorizo, and 16 more… We will go back. Repeatedly! Now that we know it’s here. The grocery is worth a browse while you are waiting for your fresh made order to be done. Mostly Mexican fair and some bakery and meat options. Even take home Tamala’s. Check it out. I hope your experience is as good as ours. If you need a high class atmosphere. Don’t go here. You will simply be disappointed and that is not what this place is about. It is more or a diners, drive ins and dives type destination. This is worth a a few more returns to try other menu items. But the burrito was winner-winner. We’ll be back!

First time here, and it's definitely not the last. The owners were super kind, helpful and welcoming. I had tacos, and my wife had a burrito. We both really like the food. We also picked up some groceries for a recipe I want to make, and the prices were reasonable. If you are looking for authentic mexican ingredients or food, this is a good option. For those of you who care, their English is probably better than yours.

The carne asada burrito was delicious and filling during my first visit. I love the feel of the place. The only downside is the salsa comes in a squirt bottle and the bathroom hand soap is watered down. Can’t wait to go back.

Lived in WB almost 5 years now and only just now finally tried La Mexicana’s take out….. and WOW, would give 10 stars if I could. So authentic, delicious, great value, and service. Can’t wait to go back! Only regret is not trying it sooner!

The steak tacos and burritos are fantastic! Owners are very nice people.

The service is a bit off because they speak limited English. Their food is authentic Mexican food & is incredibly delicious. Only downside was they didn't have any avocados, guacamole, or tamales. Overall I give La Mexicana Grocery Store a four out of five. I would absolutely recommend.

Restaurant
Applebee's Grill + Bar is a popular full-service chain that offers a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy hearty American cuisine. While some guests have experienced delays in service, the friendly staff often makes up for it with their welcoming demeanor. Diners rave about the delicious wings and crispy chicken tenders, making it a great spot to unwind with friends over drinks and satisfying meals like juicy burgers.
Came in Saturday at 230 and had great drinks, crispy chicken tenders and a juicy burger for my girl. Our waiter was friendly and fast and also made out drinks for us. Would reccomend coming here
Absolute U — Google review
Hostesses sat me right away when arriving. However as I sat waiting to be served I got no hello, I’ll be with you in shortly or even a smile as the server serviced 4 other tables going by me more than a half dozen times. 17 Minutes after being seated she came to the table, no hi, welcome or my name is, just “what can I get started for you”. 23 minutes after ordering I got my meal with my water arriving a minute later. I was in the restaurant for 56 minutes and only saw my server to order, get my order and get the check. No follow up during the meal. I usually dine at this Applebees when working in the area each year. I usually tip well because I am dining alone, but not in this case. This by far has been the worst service experience I have had at any Applebees.
Robert R — Google review
Waited over 15 minutes for someone to greet me at the door and be seated. Waited a long time for someone to come to take my order and to be served. Chicken wonton tacos didn't have flavor. Onion rings kinda burnt. I had the whiskey bacon cheese burger, it was big mess piled on a bun. No exciting flavor. Only things that were good was the tall glass of Modelo and the atmosphere. Very disappointed. Wait staff didn't have a positive attitude, weren't thrilled to do their job.
Jodi J — Google review
While seated at our table, the server came up with plates and tossed them down at our table while currently eating fries and munching away at food and talking with food in her mouth. Servers and staff were running around the restaurant with AirPods in their ears and were not engaged with the customers. Server never checked in on us or refilled our drinks. Overall, very disappointed with the staff. staff were unprofessional the whole time. What makes it even worse is that kindergartners would have more respect and decency than the servers that were working last night have.
Jacob H — Google review
I get it,, Short staff. But when the waitresses are just hanging out and talking is frustrating, they probably needed a break. No clean tables, forgot about meal and didn't come out for over 35 minutes after our group was finished eating. I had Fiesta lime chicken. I ended up taking home because we stayed a long time already. Hope they can find more help. Wings are amazing. Our waitress was friendly.
Amber S — Google review
So this Applebee's is just the worst location ever. I had to erase my previous review so I could write a new one. After my last review and the food being so disgusting I was given a credit of $50 even though we spent over $100. I decided to order the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes, waffle fries, and also the Wonton Tacos. First, the salmon was the cheapest kind, it was so so tiny, and it was cold ,there was absolutely no blackened seasoning whatsoever or any other type of seasoning on it. The only thing that there is a lot of, is oil. Salmon produces its own oil so whoever made this must not have known that you don'tsoak it in oil. The mashed potatoes I could have thrown at a wall and they would have stuck. the waffle fries were also terrible. They were very saggy. The Wonton Tacos would have been okay except they must have made those first because by the time I got them, not only were they ice cold but the actual taco part of them was disgusting. I am now contacting the corporate office because this location needs to have a complete overhaul and retrained. I think they're hiring cooks that have no idea what they're doing. I have been to plenty of Applebee's and I've never had this experience, not once, not twice, but three times. I won't make the mistake a fourth time. When the lady finally brought my food out to me 45 minutes after I ordered, even though they told me 15 minutes, I told her it did not look like salmon and she said, it looks flaky, it's salmon. I said it doesn't look like there's any seasoning, She said, well eat it and find out. Not only do the cooks not know what they're doing, but the people there are rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. I will be calling corporate Applebee's first thing tomorrow morning. I tried to erase the picture from my old review and add one of the salmon but for some reason it won't allow me to
Dana F — Google review
The service was terrible, very unprofessional. Waitress lean over the partition to serve you food. When cleaning tables off just push food on the floor, very disgusting.
Rich B — Google review
This place is very rude and racist. I went to go eat there. I was the only Mexican as I placed my order. They were rude. I never got my food. Everybody that got there after me got their food I got sprayed in the face and eye with sanitizer the hostess was the one who sprayed me the guy that brought my salad, dropped. The dressing on the table, had his finger in my bowl. I asked why it’s taking so long. They gave me no response then when I was going to leave they said it’s ready, it’s just been sitting in the window I feel like it’s because of my race that I was treated poorly. It’s the second time that I was treated poorly as a customer. The manager with colored hair offered no solution, and he just smiled and said you should go rinse your eye out overall the worst experience I had I was treated poorly I was purposely assaulted

Pizza restaurant

If you're in the Barton area, you absolutely must check out Maricio's In Barton. This local gem has been a favorite for its consistently delicious pizza, especially their thin-crust options that boast a satisfying crunch. The atmosphere has seen some ups and downs, but recent visits indicate they've returned to form with new staff who are dedicated to providing excellent service.
The woman who answers the phone has amazing customer service! Absolutely impeccable. The food is really a 10/10 for me. Cuban sub is my go to but the pizza will speak for itself. Delicious cheese and sausage. This will be a new go to for us
Jena K — Google review
The gal who took my order on the phone was so pleasant and kind, she made ordering such an ease and gave me suggestions! When I picked up my order, though she was visibly busy, she stopped to greet and thank me which was so sweet of her! The pizza, pizza bread and wings, DELICIOUS! I will definitely be ordering from here again!

Went with group including one large electric wheelchair, one small wheelchair, two walkers and five people. They went out of their way to get us seated at a table. So nice! The pizza was great, thin crust, melted cheese and tasty sausage. They also have a gluten free option.

Best pizza in the West Bend area. My go-to order is a thin-crust veggie pizza with jalapeños. It never disappoints!
Omfghaxes — Google review
I got 2 10" gluten free pizzas for $68. That's insane. And the crust was burnt. Just beware to anyone that wants to order similarly. I realize now why they hide their prices from their website.
Alexander O — Google review
Stopped in and had the fresh made chips and cheese, deep dish pizza, and a Gluten-free pizza. Was so good I could only eat 2 pieces of the deep dish and will use the rest for my lunches. Our server was excellent.

Our go 2 local pizza place. Food always good but since the owners Handed over the rains 2 the young kids. Just not as good. Food still good but service is slower, plus they talk about how they're not getting the vaccine. So 4 me being older I'm probably not going back. Also you get that old musty smell when you first walk I'm. Could use a good remodeling. Well we did go back and the they are back 2 their old selfs again. New staff, great pizza Check them out.

Hiking area
Located close to downtown, Lac Lawrann Conservancy is a 137-acre nature preserve boasting an impressive variety of flora and fauna. With over 300 species of plants and 200 species of birds, it's a haven for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy the swimming pond at Regner Park in the city center, complete with a splash pad for kids and picturesque picnic spots.
The trails are a perfect mix of well defined and wild. In many parts they are only wide enough for single file with the foliage creeping onto the trail. The hike to Rainbow Lake was nice and relaxing and the Esker trail gives a nice view of the lower portions of the conservancy. It can get a bit buggy with all the water around, so be sure to use plenty of mosquito spray. Will definitely be coming back to explore more of the trails.
Glorkar F — Google review
Great walking trails! They also have bathrooms at the entrance / main building. (Bathrooms indoors when building is open, and on the outside of the building when the inside is closed).
Han B — Google review
Came up from Milwaukee looking for hiking. I was not disappointed. Unexpectedly rich. Really wonderful. Big enough to have a leisurely couple of hours in. Although the visitor center was closed I was very happy to find very clean bathrooms accessible from the outside along with a drinking fountain that was still open in early October.
Tim B — Google review
When I explored Lac Lawran, I had a blast! It was mid-March, so it was extremely wet and muddy. I would visit here again in mid to late Summer, especially for the oak prairie they have. It will hold plenty of wildlife and I guess mostly birds! There are a few trails within the main forest surrounding the pond. Plenty of deer tracks, so that is promising for larger wildlife. The pond is beautiful as well! There is an evergreen grove with a neat trail as well that leads to a birch/poplar grove overlook.
James R — Google review
My daughter's wedding reception was held here. Beautiful place!! I hear the walking tails are awesome too!
Tami L — Google review
The new playground is outstanding! The bathrooms are clean and there is ample parking.

What a wonderful place to visit. We found it by just driving by and decided to stop. So glad we did. Breathe taking. Seen so many different types of birds.

This is a very nice little park. There's a nice big pavilion with a fire pit, and twisty winding trails that weave between mounds and through a bit of arboreal forest. The evenings are nice in the summer when the long shadows cast cool shade. It's a fee area so please contribute to the Wisconsin State Parks when you visit.
Jim P — Google review
Nice park for a slow and easy walk. We enjoyed the butterflies, wildflowers, and looking at the milkweed. There were some hornet's at the interpretive center in some of the educational signs.
Andrea W — Google review
It was ok. Definitely not worth the long drive. Parking lot is small. Very peaceful area to be in. Don't plan your whole day here. I was only here for 30 minutes max. There's picnic tables, short trails. Plan on visiting other parks on your route.

What a wonderful place to visit. We went for mother's day. It's educational and peaceful even with children:). There is just something majestic about being around such history and having nature all around. We packed a picnic.

This was a beautiful walk through nature, and a wonderful history lesson. As kids we saw several mounds across the midwest. These were great examples of ancient Native American culture! Thank you for preserving this so well!

Newest Wisconsin state park is a little gem. Really liked walking in and among the mounds. I wish I had stopped at the gazebo first so I could review the shapes and then see them. Fun one, can't wait to see how the stat upgrades it.

A neat little park to visit if you are interested in either the Mound Builder civilization or Native Americans themselves 15 to 25 minutes to spend here (depending on how fast you run from the mosquitoes in summer)

Faith Haven offers meandering paths through undulating terrain, encompassing abundant woodlands and open spaces for enjoyable picnics. The area presents an ideal location for mushroom foraging, with the added benefit of allowing pets as long as owners clean up after them. Although it would be even better if they groomed the trails for cross-country skiing, the place still receives a high recommendation.
This is an absolute gem and a true gift to the area. Beautiful hiking trails. They allow dogs off-leash if you're alone or on-leash if there are other visitors.

The park's biking and hiking trails through the woods and over the rushing river are a major highlight. Great Park. Softball fields large kids playground. Pickleball courts. Basketball courts. Really nice walking trails near and over the Milwaukee River. The park is located on the Southeast corner of the city and is one of many parks within the city. Sandy's Barton Cafe is a charming little spot that feels like home the moment you step inside. With its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, it’s no wonder this cafe has become a favorite among locals. The menu features mouthwatering dishes, including an unforgettable meat lovers omelet packed with generous portions of meat and delightful French toast that fills the air with its enticing aroma. Despite being a small establishment, Sandy's offers quick service without compromising on quality or taste.
Stopped in here for the first time ever today and OMG! It’s such a cute small little place. It feels like your family when you’re there! The food was absolutely amazing! Will definitely be my go to place!
Rose T — Google review
Cute little restaurant. But they clearly cannot handle a busy weekday morning. My friend and I waited for a table. No problem. Once we found a table, our young waitress was very nice. We both ordered French toast. Then, the wait. After a while, our waitress came by and asked if we “wanted to order anything else … while we waited for our initial order.” Um. Huh? 45 minutes later, we asked how much longer it would be. “Oh, your order is in line. Probably another 15 minutes.” One hour for two orders of French toast? All we had was ice water by this point. We got up, very politely told her to cancel our orders and left. I had a real nice time catching up with my friend. But this little place needs to really improve their game. Pass …
Ron K — Google review
Small town café. Coffee was good, the rest was OK. Sour dough was great, eggs are greasy and the cheese was not great.

This Cafe was really neat. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often! The prices are super reasonable and the food is absolutely delicious. The French toast smelled so good when it came out and was just as tasty 😋 the service is very personable and friendly and they check in on you regularly on how you're doing. I noticed the server talking to a couple of regulars and I think it's super cool that they remember people, even if they come super often. They have a good variety of a menu and again they have super great prices! Highly recommend!!!

Copper Penny Family Restaurant is a charming spot that embodies the essence of a classic diner, perfect for families and friends alike. Even during busy times, like Sunday brunch when the restaurant fills up quickly, patrons can expect their meals to arrive hot and fresh without feeling rushed.
The old school American Diner isn't dead yet! Had a great breakfast for super cheap. Service was fast and very friendly. Definitely coming back soon. Came back 3 days later for lunch. 🤯👍👍👍 Service, food quality(portions) price and speed, were stellar 👌

Nice little diner. Food is average. Prices is average. It is clean, The staff is nice. It opens really early. That's why we stop here. If other place open that early. I probably would stop some where else. It's not bad
Jeff G — Google review
It's a great mom and pop breakfast place. Don't come expecting fancy and perfect, but it's a great place to get some grub. Nothing bad really, it's your grandparents diner. Quiet and small town. Food was good, came fast, typical diner food. It's not worth anything lower than a four-star, but you can't give it five. :-)
Richard W — Google review
The restaurant was fairly crowded but service was great. On my first visit, I took a special needs client for a fish fry. Staff and patrons were kind. As we were walking out, there was a larger group of special needs persons. For that reason alone, I support this restaurant. My second visit was on a Sunday. Even though it was crowded, our food came out good and hot very quickly. We were not rushed to eat and leave.
Branwen W — Google review
You're welcomed with a smile and with menus in hand politely directed to a table or booth of your choosing. No pressure either for rushing through your meal. I thought the food was delicious! I ordered an omelet anime the special request that it wouldn't be brown and hash browns be crispy. Everything I requested what is granted. Food portions we're very generous!

Nestled in West Bend, WI, Don Ramon is a delightful Mexican restaurant that promises an authentic dining experience. Housed in a charming former Wendy's location, the eatery features whimsical skylight seating that adds to its unique atmosphere. Known for its vibrant happy hour specials—think $4.99 32 oz drafts and refreshing margaritas—Don Ramon has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Nachos Fajitas This plate is 1 of 6 options on the menu. This review will only cover the nachos fajitas option. This plate consisted of melted cheese, grilled bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, squash, and tomatoes. Protein options were steak, chicken, or both. The chips to topping ratio was balanced. The serving size was enough for 1 adult. The pricing was worth serving. Overall, this plate was delicious. I really liked grilled vegetables and cuts of meat were a good size. I would order this plate again. I would also like to try the other nachos options.
Joshua S — Google review
Great place just wish the waiters and waitresses were a little bit more attentive I spent about 20 minutes waiting on somebody to come and check on me the first time I went it took a while for them to even come get my order. Second time I went with my parents and the waitress completely avoided eye contact and answers to questions where mumbled barely was able to hear the woman food was the bomb though wish I could've lent my help in customer support. That's the only bad part about the restaurant but everything I mean everything else was perfect. I leave tips based on the service I receive and the first time I went alone I only tipped 5 to be nice cause I usually tip big to good waiters and waitresses. The send time my parents flipped the bill out was 100 bucks so my parents tipped 15 even though the second time the waitress was way worse. She at times was no where to be found and the male waiters twice had to track her down and service us themselves.

Nice place, an old Wendy's based on the skylight seating on the side. Great happy hour drink specials like 32 oz drafts for $4.99 and cheaper domestic beers too! Original chimi was excellent, chicken dish with chipotle sauce was amazing, choripollo incredible, and seafood mix (shrimp, scallops, chicken) also fantastic. Ask for the hot salsa too -- really wonderful!

This place has seriously gone down hill. The place is empty but we’re completely being ignored at the bar. 19 minutes later we were asked if we want drinks. Still no chips out. Forgotten again, has to ask for our drinks. Ask for a menu, didn’t get one. Another 10 minutes and finally got drinks. Still no one asked if we wanted food, even though I asked for a menu. Decided to leave. This has happened more than once from here. Service has turned to absolute garbage. Will never go back

Nice place with friendly and efficient staff. Food is good, I'm kind of lucky (picky) in that I've traveled wisely and tried a lot of Mexican food. This is pretty good for Wisconsin, can't complain. Nice choice for West Bend.

I've been here many times, and have never been disappointed by the food. You get warm fresh chips with salsa, friendly servers, and large portions.

Ok so my wife and I were in the area and decided to give them a try. We live in Waukesha but will definitely be coming back with the family. We ordered the "Molcajete" which in Mexico is used to make salsa, but here it is used to serve a few lomo steaks, about 8 pieces of shrimp, a couple of marinated chicken breast, some chorizo, all covered in Chihuahua cheese, in a delicious salsa (not spicy) with zucchini and nopalitos (small pieces of catcus). It also came with rice, beans, quesadillas, and a salad, all some of the best we've had at a Mexican restaurant. Besides the great tasting food, everything was reasonably priced and the service was great too!

Jug's Hitching Post Saloon & Grill is a charming rustic tavern known for its draft beer and classic American dishes like burgers, ribs, and fried fish. The friendly and professional staff provide excellent service, with Missy being particularly praised for her helpful suggestions. The Thursday night meat and lobster specials are highly recommended, as are the duck strips and rib appetizers. Visitors rave about the flavorful sandwiches, including the outstanding Reuben and bison burger.
Very neat restaurant, we especially liked the raw edge tables we sat at. Anyways, we had a business dinner here where we all ordered the burgers. One Texas burger and Two Kentucky burgers with the bourbon sauce. We all also ordered the twisted fries🍟. The burgers were fantastic, highly recommend giving them a try. Very friendly staff and good service.

We made our first visit on a Saturday night. I could tell we were i .for a treat by the full parking lot. We sat at the bar because an hour wait for a table was too long to wait for the delicious food I knew we would have. Everything was perfect! The prime rib was so tender. Great service from the bartender who was attentive and kind. We will be back!

As soon as we walked in the hostess made sure we knew how big of a nuisance we were to her. However, our waitress was very sweet and kind. I ordered a 1/2 pound cheeseburger, medium rare, and was greeted with a raw cheeseburger smothered in grease. I showed our waitress the cheeseburger and she couldn’t even keep a straight face- she looked embarrassed on behalf of the establishment. Great for a drink, terrible for a burger.

THE PLACE to be on a Friday Night in Wisconsin. Fish Fry is Fantastic! I have to admit, that when a friend told me about this place - I asked, WHERE IN THE WORLD IS KOHLSVILLE!?!?! This place is a JEM.

Yes, there's a wait because it's popular. If you want to avoid that arrive at 730. It's worth it either way. One item on the menu you must get is the seafood bruschetta. They hit it out of the park with that recipe!

Absolutely wonderful experience. Kasandra was stellar behind the bar. She and the staff were attentive and very friendly. The food was also spot on. We had the Italian Stallion sandwich and it was great. I highly recommend this place. Great atmosphere too.

Jugs Hitching Post is such a great spot! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the drinks are always spot-on. What really makes it stand out, though, is the bartender — so much fun, full of energy, and always ready with a great story or a quick laugh. You can tell they love what they do, and it makes every visit feel like a night out with friends. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re in the area

Thursday night meat and lobster special are awesome!!! Duck strips and rib appetizers were very tasty. Great tangy tasting chili. Even my friends side salad looked tasty! Missy our waitress was phenomenal at suggesting great dishes. Missy took care of us and cleared empty dishes quickly. The salted caramel cheesecake dessert was something to behold. Sweet, salty cheese cake yum!
