Situated along the Maryland Crab and Oyster Trail in Solomons, The Lighthouse Restaurant and Dock Bar has been a go-to spot for delectable Chesapeake Bay seafood and steak dishes since 2014. This casual harbor-side locale offers a wide array of high-quality fare, including raw bar selections, gourmet seafood house specialties, and shareable appetizers like fried buffalo oysters and crab dip potato skins. The restaurant also boasts an extensive drink menu featuring local craft beers and specialty cocktails.
We came down for a quick day trip for DC and it was everything we were hoping for. Large portions, good food, and the service was excellent. If you’re looking for a great lunch spot this is your place to go!

The soups were too salty but I do like the Maryland crab soup! The entrees were pretty filling too with all the sides and everything! I think it’s a good place to try. It was a pretty busy restaurant but the waiter was really nice and came to check up on us quite a few times which was nice! And food came out pretty quick and restrooms were clean.

We had a great lunch here after having very disappointing food at the tiki bar. Derral was a great server and the crab legs were so so so good. I will be back tomorrow. Also I am a sucker for a view which is place had such a beautiful one.

I had an early dinner here. It was a great atmosphere and excellent view. Parking was very easy since they have their own lot which is a plus for me. The food was delicious, although my baked potato was a little "hard" cooked than I usually like (I like a soft baked potato where the butter just melts). The hushpuppies were "okay" but I dipped I the honey and it was good.

We enjoyed this spot. Overlooks the water with a nice two level deck, although, if you don't have 4 people they won't let you have a table on the rail. There are a bunch of tables outside, most will have afternoon shade via umbrella or building coverage. Sizeable menu with mainly seafood like most places in Solomons. I don't do seafood, nor does my wife so that left is with just a few options but we both liked what we got. She got a mushroom wrap no tortilla as her Vegan option and I got the club sandwich. I liked the ciabatta roll bread, it was soft rather than tough which happens a lot. The sandwich was huge, I had to leave half the sandwich and half the fries and pay for a full as we were on the road and had nowhere to save it sadly, It would be nice to have a half sandwich option. Parking along both sides of the building, no wait for a table, and the service was good.

I had such a wonderful experience at The Lighthouse Restaurant and Dockbar. The cream of crab soup was rich and full of flavor, and the coconut chicken breast with rice and garlic broccoli was perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed a tropical tequila cocktail that was fruity, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the meal. On top of the great food and drinks, the view was absolutely beautiful, the waterfront setting really made the experience feel special. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything came out fresh and hot. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! Definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back. Great venue overlooking Back Creek on Solomons Island. Really great scenery from the outdoor patio and dock, with the still water reflecting the sky, boats, and buildings. Friendly service. The crab tower was an excellent and refreshing treat. Paired with avocado, mango, and sriracha, it was a tasty bite. The bacon wrapped scallops are favorites for our group - sweet and salty, with juicy scallops and semi-crisp bacon. The poke bowl included fresh fish and vegetables, however, recommend cooking the rice in a more traditional style to improve its flavor and texture.
David W — Google review
We were passing by, on our sailboat. We were able to dingy to the restaurant and they allowed our dog outside on the deck. Our servers (we went two nights in a row) were exceptional. My teenage son asked for a surprise drink and she brought a virgin strawberry daiquiri, which delighted him. He thinks her name was Katie. The tuna poke bowl is outstanding. We also had the Club Ciabatta and seafood pasta. Our grandson had the kids burger, which was adult size. We just don't think you could go wrong here.

Located on the scenic waterfront of Solomons, Charles Street Brasserie offers a unique dining experience with a focus on Mediterranean and Southern Maryland-inspired tapas dishes and shared plates. The brasserie's eclectic menu includes dishes like lobster mac n cheese and pork kabobs paired with craft beers and signature martinis. The 1930s inspired dining room features live piano music, while the picturesque deck provides an al fresco waterfront dining experience. Guests can also enjoy movie nights on Fridays and Saturdays.
This was an amazing restaurant. We went on a Sunday for Brunch and got the berries waffles.. the breakfast bowl with egg, potato, bacon, avocado, peppers & onions and the crab omelette. The food was delicious. The water view was beautiful and we were serenaded with a wonderful singer at the piano. They also offer mimosas and Bloody Mary’s.

Stopped in for brunch on Sunday at 11 and we were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately. The restaurant is small and the vibe was cozy. With Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman adorning the walls and the small television. We opted to sit inside in order to be entertained throughout our meal by Jeff on the piano playing classics from the likes of Van Morrison to Ray Charles. The food was delicious and the bloody Mary’s were on point. Bonus points for the view and super friendly and prompt service from Cheyenne and Savannah.

Some pretty tasty tapas. Monday was half off glasses of wine with two tapas for $26. Pretty good deal. The filet mignon bruschetta was amazing! Not the best atmosphere but if it’s a nice day, sit outside and enjoy the water view!

Gorgeous waterside views and a primo location.. there is outdoor seating on the porch. Delicious food with a great Tapas menu.. shareable plates. I had the Baked Brie en croute and it was melt in your mouth! Others had the chicken satay and caprese salad. The mixed drinks are strong and come in Ball jar type glasses. I had the John Collins which is a lemony cocktail. Also highly recommend the chocolate lava cake!

We have never been disappointed with the dining experience here. The food is always fresh and well prepared. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. It's clean and has both indoor and outdoor seating areas. *** Update 8/12/18 We stopped by for Sunday brunch and sat outside. Once again, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. This time around we took the opportunity to sample a Bloody Mary and Mimosa. They were properly prepared and quite tasty. Looking forward to our next visit!

This might be my favorite brunch spot in Southern Maryland. Delicious, fresh, attentive to food presentation, beautiful view and a great selection to choose from. Outdoor seating when the weather is warm puts you right on the water. Love the mimosas too.

Had an absolutely fantastic dinner here on a Fri night. Made a reservation, but it wasn't busy. Our server Cindy (I think) took the time to go over the menu with us and make food and drink recommendations. She asked what I liked and brought me a cocktail that was perfect! Everything was fresh and made perfectly! The only little thing is the large ammount of crab meat in my seafood pasta had pieces of shell in it, but thats picking at it because overall everything was great. We all loved the live piano player too!
Julia S — Google review
Dinner on a Thursday offered the special 3 tapas for $39. It was just okay. None of the dishes were particularly fresh, most appeared to be previously frozen - stuffed shrimp, cigars were primarily cream cheese. The menu sounded much better than reality. Blackened scallops were small, sauce didn't have the promised flavor. Lamb and tenderloin were tasty but nothing to rave about. Maybe an off nite?

Solomon's Island Winery offers a delightful experience with its friendly and talkative staff who are eager to enhance your wine tasting journey. The winery provides a diverse selection of wines, including unique specialty options like root beer, orange cream, and pumpkin roll. Visitors can enjoy the tropical ambiance at The Tiki Bar or savor the cheerful atmosphere at The Lighthouse while indulging in delicious wines.
Was my first time going to a winery and I had so much fun. The women there were friendly and talkative. They were very willing to teach you about the wines and enhance your experience. I tasted one of the wines and then they added Prosecco so I would try different things. It was $10 for a tasting and you got to keep the glass. After we bought our wine my friend and I sat outside and enjoyed the scenery. Even though it’s small it was a good experience.

Not sure what's up with all the bad reviews. I love their wine and their hospitality is wonderful. I'm a sweet wine girl and these wines are on point. Their specialty wines were amazing! I mean where can you get a root beer, orange cream, or pumpkin roll wine? Highly recommend!
Stacey K — Google review
This wine tasting was very good. They had multiple options to choose from. As someone who doesn't drink red, it was nice to not have to waste money on it. They were very nice and friendly. The wine was also very delicious. I ended up buying a few bottles.
Brittany S — Google review
Very friendly and informative! The wines here rotate and come from all different places so it’s fun and interesting to visit more than once. Very good selection of wines; we always leave with a bottle or two of something that we like. I love supporting this small business.
Cristi R — Google review
Tasted six of their wines at a fair booth. In all my years of wine-tasting have never actuality cringed at every offering. This is not an actual winery, they get grapes from others then make and sell at fairs but may now have a tasting room. The sweet wines are for inexperienced wine novices who don't know the difference between good sweet wine and bad sweet wine. The blends both red and white, and the Port, are just BIZARRE tasting. Oh, and the staff was rude! How can you be in this business and act as if your customers are a nuisance? Avoid this one!
Nancy C — Google review
Not impressed with the booth at the WINE IN THE Woods Festival. The server that was in our line for the tastings just WALKED AWAY! We were left standing there like idiots while every other line just kept going. This after waiting in line for 20 minutes. No one knew where she disappeared to with out a word. There were enough people there to have covered for her in an emergency. Luckily when I asked the guy next to her if he can get some help for us and he started serving! Wanted to buy some wine but we all got frustrated at being ignored. The wine was not bad though.
Maritza C — Google review
Do not buy from them! They disregarded my concern about what appeared to be a glass shard in a wine bottle I purchased from them at a wine festival. After multiple calls and emails, I received a single email asking me to mail to them the bottle and shard, or drive somewhere to meet them (strange) but they did not even apologize or offer to replace the unusable wine. When I wrote back and said that I could do what they needed me to, but that taking the time to mail it or drive somewhere is a further inconvenience and they had not yet addressed the initial inconvenience of buying a bottle of their potentially dangerous wine...they just ignored me. I never was going to sue (though perhaps I should reconsider that after the lack of consideration from them). All I wanted from them was some courtesy and to replace the bottle. Buyer Beware!!!
Stacy H — Google review
Was pleasantly surprised at the great selection of dry reds they had here. Pricing is good for their selections. Laurie was both hospitable and helpful in helping me to choose which wine to enjoy.

Restaurant
The Pier Restaurant in Solomons Island, MD offers a cozy waterfront setting with patio seating and stunning sunset views over the Patuxent River. This historic landmark serves classic seafood dishes and brunch options year-round. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it provides a come-as-you-are atmosphere for guests to enjoy fresh meals and a full bar. The restaurant is known for its unbeatable crab cakes and delectable steak, all while taking in the panoramic river views.
Excellent restaurant with phenomenal food, gorgeous views, and relaxing environment. The crabcakes had little to no filler and were seasoned perfectly. The crabby ribeye was also very delicious. The side salads were huge. I would highly recommend either of those entrees. All of their soups are full of meat and also very good. The service was fantastic and the restaurant itself was very clean. There is outdoor and indoor seating but unfortunately it was too chilly for the outside seating to be open when we visited. The prices are a little steep but don’t let that scare you away as the food, service and atmosphere is worth every penny.

I’d been coming here for quite some time as I used to live here for many years. The food quality is fresh and consistent. The relaxed vibes contribute to spend hours on the outdoor deck enjoying the marine breeze. We tried this time the steamed mussels, the seared tuna and mango salad and the 1 lb., steamed shrimp, all of them were well prepared and delicious. Dee was our server and she’s courteous, friendly and efficient! I’ll look forward to keep coming back to this great restaurant.
Alberto Z — Google review
This restaurant was a very nice choice for dinner, the view is gorgeous and our waitress was very friendly and helpful even though they were busy. We had oysters on the half shell and the pretzel with crab as appetizers. For dinner, between the four of us we had: fish tacos, broiled seafood platter, and fried shrimp. The fish, tacos and fried shrimp were delicious, the seafood platter had a combination of haddock, shrimp and crab cakes. Their crab cakes were the best I've ever had. The shrimp was delicious. The haddock was a little bit overcooked and somewhat flavorless. I saved mine to take home and make tacos out of later LOL. The side salad that I got with the seafood platter was really good....A nice blend of romaine with cucumber, bell pepper, grape tomatoes, etc. I chose steamed broccoli as my other side option, wrong choice. It was tough, and tasteless. All in all it was a good experience and I would go back again.
JA W — Google review
Restaurant was recommended by the man at the lighthouse. It did not disappoint. Told 20 min wait but less than 10. Saturday outside near the awesome live music. The food was absolutely delicious. The haddock appetizer bites were different and super good. Chicken and salmon very yasty. The kale salad had an apple flavor and craisins thrown in, great idea! Alana was an excellent server. Can't wait to come back.
Debby K — Google review
Scenic place to relax and admire the Patuxent River over classic American seafood dishes. Greatly enjoyed the views of the birds, the river, and the bridge during sunset and into the evening. We would hear the occasional fish broach the water’s surface. Their steamed shrimp, haddock bites, and chicken wings are go-to appetizers for our happy hours. Customer service can be excellent here. However, service is not consistent perhaps due to mismatches between the number of available servers and the number of customers. Training would also be a consideration to standardize service levels.
David W — Google review
The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. when I accidentally spilled my drink on my meal, the staff quickly replaced it with a fresh plate without hesitation. The atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable, and as a person of color, I felt completely comfortable and valued throughout my visit. Highly recommend.
Stephanie L — Google review
Upon walking up, this place seems to be business casual - but when we walked in we were greeted by three young teenage ladies. This theme followed throughout the restaurant as the only adult staff seemed to be behind the bar. Our server was…decent? It took more than three attempts to get water before we finally got it and I think he said maybe fifteen words to us in total. The energy was also incredibly confusing. Inside was spacious and large seeming to again be business casual while outside felt like my Alabama Uncle’s family reunion. It was a mix of dressed up and Walmart tank tops. The cocktail menu has ZERO prices on it - which should have been my first warning sign to the $9 college grade Peach Bellini and $18 watered down margarita bucket. Safe to say neither of these colored me impressed. The food left me feeling a similar sensation of disappointment. Can someone tell me why the crab cake sandwich, which cost $35, only came with one side of very sad and watery coleslaw - but my crab ravioli came with not one but two sides? The sandwich had no seasoning on it, leaving it tasting like absolutely nothing - not even like the crab it was supposedly made of. Isn’t Maryland known for its crab? Speaking of the sides - the side salad I ordered to share with my friend? I asked for Italian dressing so can someone also tell me why it had ranch already on it? Safe to say we did NOT eat what easily could have been a recycled from another table salad. (Also, why are you using Kraft cheese from the bag?) Least but not last - the crab ravioli was saved only by the Old Bay Alfredo sauce it was served with which was clearly only poured on-top of what I can only imagine is redone ravioli from the local chain grocery store. How do I know this? Because when I move the ravioli to cut into bite size pieces, I found sauce barren ones underneath that tasted about as appetizing as paper mâché. And all of this for a whopping $122? Safe to say I don’t feel this was worth the cost it came out to, and the next time I find myself in Maryland I will be sure to check out a different restaurant in the hopes of avoiding this level of disappointment.

I have been going to Carmen's Gallery in Solomons for almost as long as she has been open. I have several paintings in my home from her gallery and every room at my office has art that was framed in her frame shop. We always get compliments on the decor from our patients. We even have a Carmen original. Whenever I am in need of a gift - I know where to go. They have a variety of Art in different mediums, jewelry from local artists, and unique clothing. The owner, Carmen, is always there and we also love to see the gallery cats! Best place to shop around!

Easy access off Route 4 and Rt 235. The traffic flow around is decent. Plenty of pull through parking spots. Floating dock makes it easier with the tide. Weekdays aren't very busy. But weekends and holidays can be packed. No area to park individual vehicles without a trailer. You will take a trailer spot if you want to park just a car.

The restaurant, owned by chefs Amanda Rutledge Comer and Kelly Guilfoyle, offers a variety of creative American dishes, with a focus on sandwiches like The Good Karma and the Rainbow Love. In addition to daily specials, visitors can enjoy a tapas tasting menu every Thursday.
I’ve been here several times. Staff is extremely friendly, very cozy atmosphere under nice trees which is a great spot on hot mornings. Very dog friendly, very popular place! Great food and drinks! Everything is fresh and delicious!! Btw… if you order a mimosa it comes in a bag BECAUSE they can’t serve it in a glass due to alcohol laws… has nothing to do with “class” or their preference 🙄 be thankful you can order an alcoholic beverage here at all.. open container laws are a real thing!

It you are looking for quick and lite bite at the island lotus kitchen is one option you can go. They serve light fare such as scramble eggs for breakfast or quiche and salads for lunch. Their special soup Thai and cauliflower is really delicious and tasty. The Kim key lime pie is very tasty and tangy. The quiche can use a bit more cheese one thing you need to consider, they only have outdoor seatings.

I love this place, but this was probably the MOST disappointing sandwich I have ever been given. I paid $9+ for something that looks like it came from a Walmart grab-and-go kiosk????? It’s not even made correctly - that’s not iceberg, it’s the yellow bits of romaine, and it’s supposed to be arugula. This place is known to be a nice peaceful spot with a deliciously eclectic and seasonal menu that cares about quality. It’s just a sandwich, but the whole experience actually has me questioning how much I talk this place up to people.

First time in the area and came due to the reviews. Very friendly service and cute place with healthy options and also delicious. Turkey club was disappointing...too much sauce, lettuce and not enough bacon ( turkey was not available so had chicken). Rotini salad was not your typical Italian dressing rotini...it consisted of raisins, noodles, cucumber. Definitely a must try in area if you are wanting key lime pie or something healthy. I will try something different next time.

Cozy little place with live music on a Sunday afternoon. Key lime pie was simply okay. The drink menu is very creative. However, rail liquor is used in some if there signature drinks. This is a good pit stop for a coffee.

Fantastic pizza! Got a regular cheese even though we had just ate breakfast. Can't pass up an opportunity to get local spot when out of town. It met our pizza expectations! Great view and beautiful weather made for an event better experience. We even got a pepperoni to go for our boys!

Real neat spot. Very Mom&Pop esque. If you're looking a fun local place with great flavor and drinks, definitely consider here. The pizza had great dough! We got the Hivemind, the Gandalf, and the Hellfire pizzas. Hellfire was our favorite. The views and part of town are beautiful! Probably a cool date spot. Definitely returning next time we're in town!

THE BEST PIZZA!!! The pizza is fresh and flavorful! The customer service and atmosphere were great! I opted for the Hellfire & Dungeon Dragon and they were both amazing. I will be picking Cryptic Pizza over the other local pizza joints in the Calvert/St. Marys area due to the food, service, and atmosphere. If you're debating on trying Cryptic Pizza, I 10/10 recommend going!

This has to be the best pizza we’ve ever had! Great atmosphere sitting outside under shaded trees! The pizza was so flavorful with every bite! Ordered the Hellfire 10/10 would definitely recommend!

This place is a true gem in the area. You can tell these people know good pizza. High quality ingredients and great flavors! You can’t go wrong with any of the pizzas, but the Goblin King is my favorite. Plus they have gluten free and vegan options!

Seafood restaurant
The Island Hideaway is a comfortable bistro and bar that offers a great selection of New American eats and seafood. It features inside and outside dining with marina views, making it a perfect spot for enjoying happy hour specials. The restaurant also welcomes dogs, so you can bring your furry friend along. Additionally, if you're in the mood for a tapas and steakhouse experience, Charles Street Brasserie is worth visiting.
First, this restaurant was recommended by a local when I was at another restaurant. He recommended several items but bragged on the burgers especially…and it did not disappoint. They are half-pound thick flavorful burgers. And the seasoned fries are some of the best fries I have had. I usually shy away from fires because they are usually undercooked, but not these…excellent! I also want to brag on my waiter, Chris!! I had ordered a medium burger and when he came back to check on me a saw that it was less than rare he stated, “Let me take that back. It is not what you ordered and it will be a learning lesson for the kitchen.” I really appreciated that! I have received service like that in years. The atmosphere is quiet and the view is excellent as they are on the water (though we had a thunderhead roll through which you will see in the picture). And the drinks are well made (you know there is alcohol in them). Overall, I recommend visiting for a meal and socializing!

The Island Hideaway is a family run restaurant that overlooks a portion of the Back Creek on Solomons Island. It is a quaint eatery with a nice bar area, great homemade cakes, and a hearty menu. The skinny fries were excellent as usual - crisp and well seasoned. Their weekly special shotgun shells appetizer (stuffed jalapeño halves) was deep fried with a slightly sweet and spicy sauce. Their salads were fresh and crisp. The thick cut pork chop was accompanied by wild rice and asparagus. The white rice and asparagus were cooked well. The pork chop was flavorful, but slightly overdone. The homemade cake was excellent as usual. Fresh strawberries brought acidity and brightness alongside the cream frosting and great yellow cake flavor / texture.

It all started so well. Friendly welcome. Drinks served. Food upon arrival looked good. Unfortunately that’s when things went down hill. I ordered the crab cake. It looked tasty even tho the meat to bun ratio was off. The bun was way bigger than the filling. Same goes for my husband’s burger. His burger was under seasoned. He asked for the Caesar salad with no croutons, but it was served with the croutons and my crab cake was burnt on the bottom making it inedible. The Manager was uninterested and surly. It’s probably A nice place for drinks but the food is below average especially for the price.
Marie T — Google review
Sea food restaurant right on the water, service was young and inexperienced they gave us two kids cups for water instead of one. No other hiccups, appetizers came out fairly quickly and were delicious! I recommend the crab dip and fish bites. Drinks came out pretty quick too. The entrees definitely came out at different times, the special I ordered was bacon wrapped scallops and the bacon was soggy with grease and not crispy. I dropped the star for that honestly, the dinner special was almost $40 and I didn’t enjoy half of it.. the dish was ambitious to say the least but I believe the execution was the reason for the failure. Bacon not crispy, scallops not crispy, lots of onion tomato jam and rosemary polenta does not blend together well. Next time I would recommend crisping the bacon and scallops, individually if necessary removing excess grease and oil. Skip the tomato onion jam and just use caramelized onion fresh from the pan. All the food was very fresh and delicious.

A great restaurant visit to this almost 10 years old place occupying the former’s Di Giovanni’s place that has been updated inside and out with a simple, yet great food menu. I’ve visited in 2 different occasions, dinner and lunch and the food quality and taste were excellent and the services by April and Amanda were superb. We tried both the Rockfish Blackened and Sautéed with Asparagus, house salad and wild rice for dinner and the Hideaway Burgers for lunch were delicious. Had a chance to meet both Lori Donaldson and Andy, one of her thee sons who own the restaurant. Definitely I’ll keep coming back to this island gem!

Okay folks, I rarely use the descriptor "stupid good" in my reviews, but my experience this Monday evening at The Island Hideaway fits this descriptor.. I am visiting the area for work this week and make a point to try local establishments/fare above national chains to the greatest extent possible.. I visited this restaurant on the recommendation of the front desk staff at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn.. Since I was flying solo, I opted to dine at the bar to avoid taking up a spot outside that someone else might enjoy.. Charlie D took very good care of me during my stay.. He offered a handful of recommended dishes for the evening, but when pressed, had other personal favorites and recommendations.. I admired his honesty.. I started with their menu Casamigos margarita, but I subbed out the more flavorful reposado version versus the blanco version listed on the menu.. Charlie was on point with the cocktail.. The margarita was well-balanced and had a delightfully refreshing tone.. I departed from the recommended daily or personal specials and I opted for the fish of the day (rock fish) blackened, and served with their "Skratch" corn side and a garden salad.. The fish was wonderfully seasoned and cooked perfectly.. I may have uttered "OMG, this is stupid good" with the first bite.. The corn, yellow and white corn sautéed with green onions, red peppers, and bacon, was ridiculously deelish, and one of the best corn side dishes I've experienced.. The salad was simple.. Served cold and crisp, the Catalina-style dressing on the side as I requested, and a perfect, calorie conscious starter.. My entire experience was fabulous!! Service was on point, the kitchen crew executed my dinner with precision, and the waterfront atmosphere was a bonus!! Even though I may try other venues on my visit to the area, I would definitely return to The Island Hideaway based on tonight's experience.. Thanks to Charlie for being a great host!! 🙌

Tiki Bar & Grill in Solomons Island, MD is a seasonal riverside spot offering tropical drinks, live music, and karaoke. The menu includes shareables like fried pickle chips, rockfish bites, and lump crab balls as well as main dishes such as shrimp, scallops, beef skewers, and salmon. The venue captures an island vibe with its tropical colors and palm trees. It's a great place for happy hour with cheap drinks and cheerful times.
Tiki Bar and Grill is great and relaxing. We came after Labor Day on a Wednesday so it wasn't busy. The food was big! Large side salad, large side of fries and the burger was not gourmet, but substantial. There were a lot of fish items on the menu as well. Very relaxing.

Great place right by the water with an amazing outdoor atmosphere. Seems to be a converted motel. Cans for late lunch on a weekend and it was a great choice. All of the food was better than I expected, and the mojitos were great too! Will be coming back, highly recommend a stop if you are in the area.

I had the Jumbo Shrimp plate and it was not good. Had a chlorine frozen food taste. Wife had Rock fish tacos and she loved it. The fries were excellent. Service was also very good. I would not order the shrimp ever again.

What a great place! This was our first time here and we loved it! Great food and a fun vibe. The gentleman that carded us (We're well over 21 so we got a kick out of that 🤣) recommended the mozzarella sticks to start and told us the steak tacos were very popular. Well, he was right! The mozzarella sticks were great and melted in your mouth, and the steak tacos were incredible! We also tried the fish tacos, and they were just okay. I had to add extra chipotle to give them more flavor. However, the drinks were spot on and the rest of the meal was excellent. Plus, they had live music! We will definitely be back!

A place with great vibes and decent food. We went on a Sunday afternoon for a party of 6 and had a good time here. We ordered a variety of food items and for the most part everything tasted really good. My favorite is the mahi tacos but I wish it had more sauce. The crab dip had a decent amount of crab pieces which was nice. Fries were really good. Anything from the drink menu hit the spot.

Located in Solomons Island, the Calvert Marine Museum is a regional venue that offers a diverse exploration of the area's prehistoric past, eco-system, and maritime history. Housed in an impressive 19th-century brick building, the museum showcases artifacts reflecting the island's unique culture and history, including boats, lighthouses, and buoys.
I bring my kids here several times a year. They always have a great time. It is a nice way to spend a couple hours with your kids. There is a lot for them to see and a couple of fun activities for them to do. They love the stingray tank and mini lighthouse!

This place was super fun and amazing to take the little ones. We also enjoyed the lighthouse tour. Of course the best part of this place was seeing the cute otters, but they also have an amazing discovery section where toddlers can touch starfish and look at sea urchins and other marine animals. My little ones loved looking at the sting rays too. They liked it so much we went two days in a row.

Great experience, with super friendly service. A lot of things to learn about the Chesapeake Bay, and don't forget to take the one hour boat cruise, they charge $11 for adults, and $9 for kids. There is also the main attraction, the Drum Point Lighthouse.

We loved exploring the museum, lighthouse and the oyster house just a short distance away. The majority of the staff we spoke with were volunteer and that is commendable considering the professionalism and excitement most exuded. We were surprised to find live animal exhibits and the otter pair were so adorable!

Drum Point Lighthouse, built in 1883, is a well-preserved wood and cast iron structure that once served as a guardian of the harbor entrance. It is one of only four surviving screw pile lighthouses in the Chesapeake Bay out of the original 42. Visitors can climb to the top floor and experience life as a lighthouse keeper, navigating narrow winding stairs to reach the impressive Fresnel Light.
It was a family trip for Memorial Day! We all had a great time! Loved going up in the lighthouse for the first time! We plan to go back for the boat ride!
Dashell F — Google review
It was pretty well-maintained with a lot of knowledgeable staff to give you a quick history of the lighthouse. Very interesting to visit. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing when visiting since it would require you to climb up and down a ladder.
Anna M — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5 stars) Drum Point Lighthouse at the Calvert Marine Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in maritime history and coastal culture. The beautifully restored screwpile lighthouse, one of only three left of its kind on the Chesapeake Bay, offers a unique and authentic glimpse into the life of a 19th-century lighthouse keeper. Its relocation to the museum's waterfront in 1975 saved it from vandalism and neglect, making its preservation a remarkable story in itself. What to Expect 🧭 A visit to the Drum Point Lighthouse is an immersive experience. The lighthouse, originally built in 1883, has been furnished with period items, some of which were donated by the family of the last keeper. You'll get to see the living quarters, including the kitchen and bedroom, giving you a real sense of the keeper's daily routine. The highlight is the climb to the top, where you can see the well-preserved Fresnel lens and enjoy stunning views of the Patuxent River. The knowledgeable staff and volunteers often provide engaging historical context, and you may even hear a few ghost stories. Overall Experience The lighthouse is a captivating centerpiece of the Calvert Marine Museum. While the entire museum is worth exploring for its exhibits on maritime life and paleontology, the Drum Point Lighthouse stands out as the main attraction. It's a great stop for families and history buffs alike. The admission fee for the museum includes access to the lighthouse, so you get to explore a lot for one price. Just a heads up, the lighthouse is located a short walk from the main museum building, so be prepared to stroll across the grounds. Overall, the Drum Point Lighthouse offers a wonderful blend of history, education, and scenic beauty that makes it an unforgettable part of the Calvert Marine Museum experience.

This is the best Marina on the bay hands down. The staff are focused on making sure you enjoy your stay at every turn. The continuously invest in upgrades and adding new options or services. The prices are fair and great value for everything you get. The location makes it even better as you can walk to a lot or take the free shuttle or ride a complementary bike. Oh, did I also mention the best fuel prices on the island.

Lovely Marina that we were fortunate to find. The team are extremely friendly, we arrived by boat, were able to use the bikes for free and stayed at a nearby hotel in the evening. They have a refreshing pool with a bar, at night they have the fire pits on, it's a relaxing easy vibe. We highly recommend staying here, clean bathrooms with showers, the flowers and grounds are beautiful

Spring Cove Marina and Yacht Club located toward the end of Back Creek and is one of the finest marinas on the Chesapeake Bay, hands down! Located just outside and within walking distance of the legendary Solomons Island excitement and numerous restaurants. A west marine is a stones throw from the marina. Read the other reviews, but make sure you pay Spring Cove Marina and Yacht Club a visit. The Staff is very accommodating and helpful. The pool is always clean and the adjoining pool bar always has what “ales” you equipped with mixologists that are sure to mix your favorite libations. There is always a special or food to partake in. The bathrooms have recently been renovated and feature music from within which will make you think you are on island time. There are Laundry facilities and a Captains lounge if you need to get a little work done. The grassy grounds are serene and shaded and have complimentary grills for your use during your next picnic. All in all, you won’t be disappointed and will have a blast if you visit for the weekend or grab an annual slip and turn this awesome place into your home base.

As it turns out, there was an oversight on my part, and Addison actually did refund my money and so I'd like to apologize for the poor review and update my rating to five stars, as the facilities are wonderful and clean. The dock hands are good at helping boaters get into the slip too.
Sput H — Google review
Deeply disappointed. We've visited and stayed at Spring Cove Marina pretty much every year for at least 20+ years and had always loved it - until recently. The past few years have not been as good of an experience. This year we encountered rudeness and terrible customer service from the manager. We now plan to stay at Zahnisers whenever we visit Solomon's. My response to the manager's response: Yes, I know I emailed you directly regarding the rude treatment. I am simply leaving my review regarding my experience and it's a shame you continue to be so condescending. Yes, I arrived by dingy to pick up our friends that did in fact have a slip reserved at your marina, which usually my husband and I also reserve a slip and visit your marina every year as well, so we are repeat customers. During this visit, our dingy was never tied up to your marina. I had hopped off to visit your store to purchase a hat for my friend's husband who had forgotten one. And the reason we were "waiting" is because my friend's slip reservation had been messed up, another indication of the quality of service. (Note: boat with reserved slip is large enough that we all could have been stying on it.) And your approach was not simply "a question", you were very abrupt, mean, and accusatory. Again, I am just leaving my review, which is honest and based on how I was treated this year during my visit and the quality of service that we have received during the past few years that we have stayed at the marina.

Guests have praised the excellent service and delicious food, including appetizers like Prosciutto Wrapped Figs and Marinated Flank Steak. The club sandwich and Cobb salad were also highly recommended for their generous portions and fresh ingredients.
The dinner we had here last night was amazing! Every single thing we ordered was excellent! The service was great, the atmosphere was nice and cozy, and that Queen of Hearts martini was the best drink I’ve ever had! (I’m still not above bribery to get that recipe so I can make it at home 😉) I can’t wait to come back and visit and go here again (I woke up this morning thinking about how good that french dip was!)

My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Bugeye Grill! Our server was excellent. The view from the sunroom was just gorgeous. The food was very tasty! The free olives and pickles as we waited on our appetizers and drinks was a nice touch. We had a beer flight which came with an appetizer. We tried two appetizers- the Prosciutto Wrapped Figs and the Marinated Flank Steak. The figs were SO good! They are stuffed with goat cheese, wrapped with prosciutto, and drizzled with honey and walnuts. Very, very tasty! The Marinated Flank Steak appetizer was also excellent- very well seasoned, tender, and overall a decent portion size. For the main entrees we had the shrimp cocktail, oysters rockefeller, and garlic mussels with garlic toast. All of the seafood was very good. Dessert was also delicious! They had live music on Thursday and a happy hour discount on drinks and appetizers. Overall, we highly recommend Bugeye Grill and will definitely be back! 10/10

Kingfishers Seafood Bar & Grill is a popular seafood spot with a casual vibe and stunning views of the Patuxent River. Despite being busy, the service was efficient and the food consistently hot and fresh. The owner's personal touch added to the experience, offering insights on must-try dishes like Soft Shelled Crab. The waterfront setting adds to its charm, making it an ideal place for drinks and appetizers or a full dinner.
barhopping : took a long walk and came by this restaurant. I loved the quiet waterfront setting. We had drinks and appetizers. Great tasty food. Kingfisher is also a name of a Asian Indian beer. Back 2nd time for dinner…. The appetizer was the best of all. :)

Delicious, fresh seafood in a lovely old building overlooking the river. I highly recommend the Albert Special which is a mix of fried shrimp and crab with a side of crisp fries. The crab soup was also delicious. Our server Matt was excellent from start to finish. Not cheap but well worth it. I will be back when I'm next in the area.

This place was packed when we came in but we managed to get a spot at the bar, had a drink then our table was ready. The servers never stopped, the buses never stopped, the place was hopping yet all of our food was hot and fresh when it came out. The owner stopped by and talked with us a bit, very nice guy, gave us some insite on the Soft Shelled Crab we loved, definitely worth ordering when it's available. The decor of this place is very nice, loved the birds, even the ne sake, Kingfisher. Glad we stopped by, worth the money.

Good food and good atmosphere. Oysters were great. Rockfish bites were good, but a little dry. Broiled Rockfish and crab cake were delicious. Key lime pie also delicious. Excellent service as well.

Excellent carryout experience. Great food, done quickly, employees awesome, so glad we couldn't wait any longer for seafood and made this our first pandemic restaurant purchase! Those pretzels and crab dip are just as amazing as I'd remembered. Worth the trip for sure...

Great place in the water for some fresh oysters and tasty treats. Happy hour is a great way to try some different options at a new place. Great friendly service as well.

Food was delicious, not too salty or dried out. Had good flavor throughout. Enjoyed the crab cake, it was really stuffed and was bigger than most crab cakes at other places.

2 girlfriends and I sat here for 4 HOURS, on a Saturday afternoon, and had an amazing time catching up. The drinks and food were really good. Our server was awesome and we were never pushed to pay our bill or hurried to leave. The photo booth was a fun way to mark the event! I will definitely be back!!

Bar & grill
Anglers Seafood Bar And Grill is a laid-back dining spot that offers a range of breakfast options and seafood dishes in a relaxed setting. Located on Lore Road, it provides a unique dining experience with views of Fishing Creek and the Chesapeake Bay. The restaurant features ample outdoor seating, making it an ideal place to enjoy beautiful sunsets while savoring delicious meals. With its multiple screens, it's also perfect for sports enthusiasts.
This place was GREAT! We had beautiful weather, great views, and a perfect breakfast at a table outside. Even though I have food allergies, our server Kat was incredibly accommodating and immediately made me feel at ease about how my food would be cooked so there wouldn't be cross contamination. She was so friendly, efficient, and didn't miss a thing. Our food was hot, delicious, and the portions were more than enough. We had an omelet, scrambled eggs, grits, home fries, and toast. We will definitely be back to try the pancakes and to also have some lunch Update: We came back to eat again! Best blueberry pancakes I've EVER had!!!💖 The cream of crab soup was great, too!

Great place in the patio with our dog. Kaja, our server, was on her first night at this place. Amazing server, good food and cool view! Definitely a place to visit if you’re in the area!!!

This is a local eating spot that may be hard to find at first. However, it is worth the effort as the food is good. Service was great! The atmosphere ROCKS as it is right by the water!! They even have outdoor seating near the boat dock.

Food was great. Fresh salad, hot peel and eat shrimp, hot fried seafood Platter. Drinks were very reasonably priced for wine. Came back for breakfast 😋 Various specials during the week. Nice view of the marinas. Good service... Would recommend! New summer hours. Now open 7 days a week.

No hostess, a server said to sit where you like. We picked a table outside and noticed it wasn't cleaned. Had to ask for it to be wiped off. Ordered chicken cheesesteak and was only asked what type of cheese. When it was brought to the table, there was not any peppers, onions, or mayo. I asked the server, and she said. It doesn't come that way, and you would've needed to ask for that. How am I supposed to know that. Dry sandwich. I'm so disappointed.

We waited over 40 minutes for our food. A group that came after us was able to order and get their food and get their check before we got our food (two sandwiches, kids mac and cheese with some canned fruit, and two fish), and their server checked in on them repeatedly. Our server never checked on us while we waited or let us know it was coming, or apologize for lateness. I never got a refill on my drink, forgot our silverware and a request for an extra plate for my toddler that wasnt steaming hot. We were the only people there by the time we got food, so it wasn't even busy. When we tried to find her to pay, she was sitting in the back on her phone. When asked about the wait, she got really annoyed with me and said it just depends on the food we ordered that made it slow. No apology for the wait. Will actively tell people not to come here in the future. To be fair, the food was decent though, the green beans were really good.

Came in for the breakfast. Let me start by saying I've been here many times for dinner without really any issues. Food is normally pretty decent. I really want to support local but experiences like this make it difficult. 25 minutes without any service so we just left. Table next to us was seated after and their order was taken but at at least 15 minute mark they'd not even gotten their drinks. They seemed a little short staffed but overall the place wasn't that busy. Do better!

Open until 11 PM on Saturday. Arrived at 9:10 PM. Kitchen closed. I understand a kitchen closing 30 minutes or even 1 hour before closing, but 2 hours before closing. Sad. Server was nice and offered drinks. Nice view of boat dock. Empty cabinets and clutter when you first walk in.
