Campground
Manmade lake used to cool the local nuclear plant & as a park with swimming, boating & cabins.
We stayed two nights in the campground area. We had a lovely visit. Some sites are closer together than others but the variety of the area is perfect for every kind of camper and family. The rangers and hosts were helpful and kind. The bathrooms and showers were such a great amenity! I saw previous reviews that the area wasn’t perfectly clean but that was not my experience. These areas were cleaned daily and considering the volume of folks over a holiday weekend, it was pretty much immaculate. The lake and beach per reviews I read would be packed and busy but they were not that congested despite it being a holiday weekend. I thought there was plenty of room to do swimming, relaxing and paddle boarding. There are a lot of jet skis and boats because it is an active lake but No Wake zones and designated areas are clearly marked. The beach is definitely higher volume but we did plenty of beautiful trails that were quiet and scenic. Our tent area was cozy and all our neighbors were lovely. Thank you all for a wonderful weekend!

Stayed here for the weekend. It was an amazing stay. Enjoyed alot family time. The cabin was your simple cabin, doesn't have AC/heat it did have electricity. The cabins had to sets of bunk beds as you see in the pictures. One good thing was the door locks it was code entry so no need to worry about loosing a key. Went out on the Kayaks for a while. The kids played on the beach. Water was to cold for my liking. We went on a couple of trails Railroad ford trail. It had a lot of nice scenes had some roots along the trail but was very nice and the last trail we went on was the Glenora trail it was all asphalt and lead straight to the beach and playground area from the camp ground. Would be nice to have a Kayak docking area to help with the boat traffic. There was lot of picnic areas as well.

Unfortunately I had to plan way in advance due to all weekends being booked, but worth it! The park was beautiful and well maintained. All the staff member we encountered were friendly and happy to see us! Stayed at site #38 which had plenty of space and distance between other sites. Water & power were very good and plenty of room on site for my tow vehicle. Cell coverage (Verizon) was weak, but available. The roads are wide and look as if they can accommodate you big rig drivers. The trails (hike/bike/horse) were well maintained and if you want you can get a lot of miles in we did 5 plus just on 3 trails. The beach was really nice and access came with renting the site. The beach staff were young and didn't have much control of who was suppose to be in the paid beach area? They even left all the swimmers alone for a "mandatory 30 min break" which I found strange, verses rotating their shifts? All and all it was a great stay.
Edgar J — Google review
We stayed in Yurt #1 and had such a great time! It’s in a perfect spot—close to the bathrooms and laundry room, but not too close. Everything was very clean, and the area felt well cared for. The yurt had one queen bed and a pull-out twin bed, which worked out perfectly for our family. We received four swim passes, which we think it's for lake swimming when the lifeguards were on duty. The whole area was beautiful! We visited just after Memorial Day weekend. The weather was a little chilly, but we still had a great time playing in the sand, enjoying nature, and swimming in the lake. The yurt doesn’t come with blankets or pillows. We didn’t know that beforehand, but luckily we brought our own from home. There’s no electricity or running water inside the yurt, which we expected, and it added to the camping adventure! There were plenty of tables and chairs. You can buy ice and firewood at visitor center near the entrance. Our little one woke up early because of the skylight at the top, so if you or your little ones are light-sensitive, an eye mask might help them sleep a bit longer. We’re definitely planning to come back again—it was such a fun and peaceful family getaway!

Great beach area with bbq grills and some tables. Plenty of parking. Good hiking trails. Bathrooms are always clean as are the grounds. The staff are always pleasant. Boat launch and pavilions also available, playgrounds too. Entry fee $10 per car

I wish I could have come earlier. We spend around 2 hrs until dusk. We still enjoyed a bit of a hike with our dogs and a walk in the beach front.
Dizb — Google review
Had a great time. Lake was awesome and easy to launch or skis. Park was well maintained. Loved the trails and off path beach spots we found too.
Syzygy G — Google review
First of all, I wasn't here to swim or horse ride or boat or anything which this lovely park seems to cater to. If I was, I'd probably give it 5 stars. However, I was here to hit the trails, and while they weren't bad, I certainly wouldn't recommend them above trails in other parks. I went out the Sawtooth and looped around the other trails to come back on the Turkey Run. Nothing wrong with them, but nothing about them made me say "Wow, I have to come back!" But man, if I had been in the mood for a swim (and, like, brought my swimsuit and sunscreen) would have been 5 stars for sure.

Village hall
Spotsylvania Courthouse Village is a charming area with plenty of food options, including a popular food truck day where the fire department entertains visitors and gourmet popcorn samples are given out. The village also boasts various shops, a florist, and a gym. Visitors can take photos by the large LOVE sign or in the picturesque gazebo. Families can enjoy finding hidden Spotsy rocks while exploring the area.
I visited four the food truck day. Gorgeous day. The were plenty of trucks out and plenty of options. The fire department was there entertaining kids (and big kids,) and the Gourmet Popcorn truck was giving out free samples, and the cherry blossom white chocolate was amazing. The Popped Republic food truck. Had to take some home to the family.

My first apartment in Spotsylvania 2022. I absolutely enjoyed my stay and hope to move back once back on my feet. You're in the HEART of Spotsylvania with all the amenities for comfortable living. I had a walk up with the screen enclosed patio and French doors. Fresh air at night was another bonus. Check it out!

Recently moved here. Mary is fabulous, smooth move in, the apartment was clean and appliances are great. Pet friendly with designated dog walking areas. Walking distance to restaurants and gym. Close commute to 95.
Kate P — Google review
More and more parking issues, unresolved noise complaints from upstairs/downstairs neighbors, and skyrocketing rent prices. When they hit me with a 27% increase in rent I left. But the apartments are not bad, just poorly finished in some areas.
Josiah N — Google review
This is an area you need to check out. There are plenty shops for food, a new florist, gym and you can always go over and take a great photo by the Large LOVE sign. There is also a very nice large gazebo to also take some nice photos. And bring the kids because they may even find some hidden Spotsy rocks.

Nice field, track area is good for other kids not playing. Porta potties are always the cleanest and sometimes don't have toilet paper. You can usually smell it sitting by the field. I feel it doesn't get replaced often. The tree line creates good shade around 7pm in the summer. But the sun can be brutal before that.

It is very cold at night. The bathroom is decently clean, and the benches and fences are in good shape. The grass is well cared for, and it is very beautiful at sunset. I wouldn't tell you to go, but if you want to than you should. Great place. 👍

Nice fields and a paved track and ball diamond. Well maintained. Rarely anyone here. Plenty of places to sit and rest. Not the greatest for bird watching but a nice place to walk or run with privacy.

Legion field has 2 fields - one is the old football field, now soccer field, so it has lights and stadium seating. The second field is called Legion track, which has a track around the field and no seating - bring your bag chair :) Bathroom on site IF it is unlocked. No playground.

Great little park especially if you want to play basketball almost never anyone there nice courts and hoops small playground is nice if you want to take your kids to a park that isn't busy also has a nice baseball field and nice soccer field as well
Caleb M — Google review
Seems like a nice place. It has a few baseball diamond and basketball courts as well as a playground. There is wheelchair parking next to the playground. The parking lot is huge. There are restrooms but they are locked, and only unlocked for sports games and events. The park has has been empty every time I've gone and the playground is always empty. The ball diamond are of historical significance and there is a placard to read about them in the parking lot near the road.
K — Google review
One of our favorite baseball parks. Gave it 4 stars because the bathrooms are never open. Which makes it hard for the girls…🤷🏻‍♀️ Park is clean and the kids like the playground as well.
Elizabeth B — Google review
Our toddler loved this park. The cute little library cabinet is a nice touch. We of course were missing swings, but it's not a deal breaker!
Heather T — Google review
Nice area to play basketball and small playground but wished the bathrooms was open like Patriots parks or loreilla but instead they put a outhouse. Played basketball and was going to the bathroom to wash my hands but they are always locked it seems and no hours of bathrooms like Patriot park has they lock the bathrooms when it gets late as these are always closed.

One of my favorite wineries!! A family owned winery, attention to detail is paramount. Today we enjoyed their Deviled Egg pairing, by far the best we've had!! Take a look at this picture, delicious and delightful!!

This winery is a sweet escape for berry wine enthusiasts. From the moment you step onto the rustic grounds, you're enveloped in warmth and charm. The friendly staff guide you through a delightful tasting experience, showcasing their luscious berry wines crafted with care. Each sip bursts with the vibrant flavors of ripe berries, leaving your palate craving more. Whether you're a seasoned wine aficionado or a newcomer to the world of fruit wines, this charming winery offers an inviting atmosphere and a delectable selection that's sure to leave a lasting impression. They offered multiple sangria options as well.
Kassandra R — Google review
Had the pleasure of trying these wines at James River wine festival and they ALL were amazing!! The faves were Lavender Lemonade, Mimosa and the Sangria all were delicious 😋 The owner Miss Janette was great and very personable. She even offered a military discount! Thank you so much for being so nice. Looking forward to visiting the winery and telling friends. Continued Blessings to you and your staff 🙏🏽🤗

We live very close to this winery. The club house is so beautiful v the staff are friendly and helpful. I had the strawberry chocolate wine and my man had the strawberry shortcake in a complementary wine glass. Both were great! UPDATE: Everybody needs to come out and try the caramel apple teeny. They have it hot or cold and it’s great hot on a very cold day. Very inventive and absolutely delicious
Jacqueline B — Google review
I see many good reviews and a few not so good. Here is mine: this winery was at an event in our area last year. A few wines tasted pretty good, the sangria and chambourin, which I purchased. The wines have NO SHELF LIFE whatsoever. The Sangria exploded 2 days after purchase. (yes I said that, blew the cork off across my dining room). I contacted the winery and was offered a replacement, which was difficult to manuever by their busy schedule. Was finally mailed a gift certificate. I tried the Chambourcin a few months later; it was absolute garbage. Sorry but fact. It tasted like grape juice literally. I poured it down the drain. Still have the gift certificate. May gift someone else with it when they are at the next event I attend. $50 spent with nothing but a taste of 1 of the wines.

I have never bad a bad experience. The staff is always polite, friendly, and helpful. I love their little food pairings and that my son can run around in the large open field!
Megan C — Google review
The wine (especially their seasonal wine) is great and so are the hosts! I come here to get their Better Together wine, which legit, tastes just like peanut butter and jelly!
Tonya E — Google review
Heading home to Ohio from Williamsburg, a traffic detour took us past this quaint and quiet winery. The owner is part Indian, which the winery gets its name and decor. The wines were all unique and very good. Natalie, our server, used to be a customer and now helps manage behind the bar. The view is very peaceful and the people are very nice. One customer in particular befriended us and shared his bottle of wine. We are grateful to have made a new friend in Virginia. We will definitely be visiting again.

Long time cider drinker, first time brunch eater. Simple and tasty options, everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Orders came out quickly and service was on track. Coffee is available, but doesn’t appear on the menu.

This place is a must. Period. The drinks are so good, and the little test tube flights are such a fun aesthetic! All of the ciders I tried were lovely, nothing was anything less than spectacular. The food here is also great, my pulled pork sliders were great, the fries are SO good, and my party all loved their meals as well. The staff were great and the vibe was very relaxed, I will be coming here so much more often!

Great brunch spot. Solid brunch menu. They have trivia nights every Thursday at 6 & 8 pm. Bonus points because they have gluten free toast and buns! My wife and I will be going back to try the bottomless cider mimosas with our next brunch.

Looking for a Brunch Spot in Spotsylvania? Look No Further than Cider Lab! 🥐🍳 We arrived when they opened at 10 and enjoyed a mouthwatering breakfast burrito with bacon. We also shared a kids' pancake and sausage. The service was fast, the food was delicious, and of course, the cider was exceptional! A great start to the day! - Cider lab - Spotsylvania

Food was excellent and service was stellar. We took our baseball team and families there on a Sunday afternoon, and they did an amazing job keeping up with everything. Oh, the cider options were amazing. Well done!!
Howie S — Google review
I like that they have a window to order food and you can pay and leave without having to wait to be served your check. I was surprised it seemed like rib meat on the pulled pork sandwich, very tender. The burger itself was a bit strange to add to pulled pork, like holy cow calories.. but it wasn't bad. The burger meat lacked flavor compared to the pork. I thought maybe they used pre-packed burgers instead of doing it themselves, but can't be sure. I asked for no pink and there was a lot of pink in mine. I enjoyed the food though, solid 4 stars. I will be back to try the Brussels Sprouts. The chips and dip were very good too. Negatives: Sticky table made me nervous about cleanliness and the water tasted very bad, not triple filtered, not R/O.
Amanda ( — Google review
Went to their original location and glad this one closer. Nice facility. Had already eaten but food looked good from what I saw and people seemed to enjoy it. Ciders were great like the test tube samples. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Will be stopping back in again and plan to try food next time.

The theme is lab with rustic modern. The flights are served in test tubs and are a good way to try out multiple ciders. I recommend the spotsylvania red (very satisfying). But try a bunch and see what tongue likes! Food was well prepared and presented nicely.

Snack Shack offers impressive affordability and pleasant surprises. Its prices are more budget-friendly compared to fast food establishments, yet the flavors are superior. The visit entailed a swift enjoyment of a delicious burger with an appetizing house sauce. The fries, although shoestring in style, were satisfactory. Numerous patrons recommend trying their milkshakes, which will be attempted on the next visit. On this occasion, a root beer was relished and deemed fantastic.
Shake Shack is a must-try! 🍔 A genuine gem with amazing food and an even better vibe. The staff is always so friendly! My wife loves the wings, I'm obsessed with the burgers, but honestly, everything on the menu is a win. Do yourself a favor and go! You can thank me later

Great staff, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. We loved the fries and onion rings, the aloha burger was our favorite. It sounds weird but it’s so good (spam and pineapple). Looking forward to trying more here!

Ordered a singular cheeseburger, and a double cheeseburger, this was the outcome. Came back the next day, as yesterday was Columbus Day and they closed early.. I let her know that my burgers, were not cooked all the way through.. she proceeded to say “all our burgers are cooked well done and steamed”, (pictures included) I asked for a refund or even a credit, to where I could come back another day, she stated that she could not provide me with either a credit or a refund because it was yesterday she offered to remake the food, I accepted. also stated “that’s what we usually do for customers that are unhappy” I couldn’t imagine any customer that would be happy with this.

The Snack Shack has the feel of a small town walk up but with creative and fresh made-to- order deliciousness! I love to check out their weekly specials like brisket Mac n cheese egg rolls; shrimp po boys; smoked thick cut bologna sandwiches (to name a few). My husband is a Whitley burger all day guy. I loved the special banana pudding milkshake they had one day and am now hooked on coffee crunch ice cream! The owners and staff treat you like friends and neighbors. Love the young lady at the register. She is such a sweetheart.

Nestled in the charming surroundings of Lake Anna, Lake Anna Hideaway is a delightful culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Recently visited by locals eager to explore its offerings, this cozy spot did not disappoint. Diners rave about the blackened tuna bites and the mouthwatering bacon cheeseburger, while seafood lovers can indulge in perfectly cooked fish tacos and a generous shrimp basket featuring impressively large shrimp.
Hubby & I snuck down to Lake Anna Hideaway for lunch wanting to try something new - so happy we did! We live within a few miles, but haven't visited since they opened. We started with the blackened tuna bites (AMAZING) & I went the bacon cheeseburger route while my husband stayed seafood and ordered fish tacos. Everything was delicious and I was really blown away by the fries. The pricing was fair, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. We left stuffed & excited to come back another day. =)

Service: We ordered food to go and asked for water while we waited. Gave us water in a dirty cup. The waitress serving the table infront of us was eating food WHILE serving food. Our waitress was kissing a man at the bar, and he was holding onto her waist while walking toward the back...Are you at work or on a date miss? Unprofessional service. Atmosphere: The vent was filled with dust .I can imagine what the kitchen looks like. Unfortunately, we drove 3 hours out of town and they were the only thing open. Food: fries and tots tasted microwaved. Habenero wings zero taste. Jerk chicken wings no taste and weird smell.

I brought my family here 7/28 we ordered our food and waited like you should. i should have known when we sat down it would be a bad event due to how dirty the table and condiments were. They brought out skimp plates with stale fries and tater tots. And the taco shells were stale. When told about it the lady LOU ANN admitted to the shells being stale. Needless to say neither of us ate more than 2 bites of our food before realizing it was bad. LOU ANN so graciously gave us a whole 5$ off the bill. Do not recommend.
Matthew T — Google review
Do NOT waste your money here. Our server was rude, not attentive, and unhelpful. I got the jerk chicken “tenders” and they were salad size bites of chicken thrown on top of a bed of yesterdays french fries. My fiancé got the jerk chicken tacos and the shells were extremely stale. We both took two bites of our meals and neither of us could even eat it. We got our waitresses attention and she grabbed the manager lady. The manager was the most condescending, rude, and disrespectful manager I have ever come across. She blantly admitted to serving stale taco shells. She said and I quote, “we just sent someone to the store and this was all we had.”. Do not go here. Oh and PS, our bill was still $37. What a disgrace of a restaurant.
Lacey S — Google review
The food was actually much better than 3 stars. The blackened tuna tacos with handcut fries were absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly! However there are definitely kinks to be worked out. The dim lighting, lack of ventilation and noise level from the bar area took away from our experience. They are also clearly short staffed, although the two servers that were there were doing all possible to keep up. Being local, we've tried every version of this restaurant through the years. The current menu is great and I hope the issues can be addressed. We would love to add this to our choice for a great meal around the lake.

The shrimp in the shrimp basket were huge and cooked perfectly. The jerk chicken tacos were amazing and the sauce they give has true authentic Caribbean flavor! Good amount of sweet to balance a good flavorful heat. Was hoping this lil place was good and it truly lived up to my hopes. I'll be back again that's for sure! Staff was really nice and friendly. My husband and I came here to eat. We got here at 6 pm. Ordered an appetizer and a salad to come out first. It is 6:45 and we just got our appetizer after I asked about it 15 minutes before server brought it. Salad still isn't out. Hoping it doesn't take much longer on our food. This is not a place to come if you just want a quick meal. If you want to sit for hours then it might suit you. Updating: Finally got food and my burger was literally burnt. I try not to be a complainer but it was crunchy!! After notifying the server, she had them cook another and it was awesome. I'm thinking they had a different cook than normal. Wasn't our best experience here but not the worse
