Outlet mall
Shopping
Factory Outlets
Carolina Premium Outlets is a great place to spend hours shopping, especially during the holiday season. Carolina Pottery offers discounts for seniors on Tuesdays and many stores provide military discounts. However, it's recommended to compare prices before making purchases. The only downside is the road markings leading into the outlet, which can be confusing for first-time visitors. Despite this, the area inside is clean and well-maintained with ample parking.
This is great! A nice outdoor mall, strip mall? But these are all high quality stores, and it's a great shopping experience. There's a few restaurants right there, including cracker barrel. And all the good outlet stores that you've come to love. Recognition to the associates that work for the mall. The bathrooms were clean, the food court was limited but clean, and there was lots of families and kids around when I was there.
Andrew S — Google review
This outlet has a very convenient location. It has been here for a long time and offers several brand names and specialty stores. Is very busy. Lots of parking spaces. Restrooms are clean but not enough of them during peak hours/seasons. Lounge is large and clean.
M S — Google review
Easy to get to, plenty of parking...l go early to avoid any crowds. Went for running shoes at Rack Room Shoes. Buy one get one half price. I find New Balance to be comfortable and longer lasting than other running shoes.
George C — Google review
I finally visited the Smithfield Carolina outlet stores today. I'm really not an outlet shopper at all but I heard this location had a variety of stores and brands I enjoy. I did not get a chance to visit every store while on a time limit but I am happy with what I spent within my budget for the quality of items I purchased. I enjoyed shopping at the Adidas store. They had a 60% off clearance sale and I was able to purchase 2 outfits for my daughter priced at $7.99 & 10.99 per piece. The selection was excellent and I saw some adorable IVY Park sneakers and boots by Beyoncé. Customer service was excellent. I also visited the Lane Bryant store to purchase undergarments. The customer service was impeccable and the store was well stocked compared to Raleigh. I was very happy with the sale items I purchased and will definitely return to visit the remainder of the stores. This outlet mall could use a modern renovation so that is the only negative.
Mariss — Google review
I came, I glanced, I conquered (my wallet). Carolina Premium Outlets doesn’t just sell stuff — it magically seduces your senses, your credit card, and your impulse to say, ‘Yes, I definitely need that.’ From the moment the sun crept over the parking lot it whispered, ‘Come. Be fashionably flawed. Embrace the markdown.’ And so I did. Every store beckoned. Coach winked at me. Nike high-fived me. Bath & Body Works tempted me with scents so intoxicating I nearly brought one home for my mailbox. I rounded the corner into Bose and nearly kissed the speaker — the sound was that delightful. At the Pretzel stand, Auntie Anne’s coaxed me with warm doughy promises. Dairy Queen sang sweet siren calls of frozen creamy joy. The layout is so intuitive that my feet (rebelling though they were) followed a perfect pathway through deals and steals. They don’t just show “outlet” — they deliver out-let (as in, letting me out with more stuff). I left with more bags than I came with. I left also with a lightness in my soul (and a slight wobble in my pocketbook). But mostly, I left saying: 5 stars + one more.
D C — Google review
Stopped by on the way home. My husband fell on the sidewalk because folks would not move over to let people pass along on the sidewalk safely. I could not find a security guard for medical supplies or anyone checking the area to ensure the mall was safe and accommodating. Will probably avoid this mall in the future.
Chrissy M — Google review
I luv this store so many unique items!! The customer service is exceptional especially Monique she was so helpful and knew the store inside out!! She also made great suggestions to what I was looking for!! I can’t wait to go back and do my Christmas shopping!!

No everything is cheap, but is convenient. Lack food places. But you can manage to go and visit and get a product or two , or compare against the web. Before buying. But place is nice and you can have a good walk as exercise

Fun & Games
Smithfield Cinemas is a popular local cineplex in Smithfield, known for its iconic features and fantastic facilities. With 10 screens offering RealD and digital 3D technology, this cinema provides a comfortable viewing experience with stadium-style seating and high-back rocker seats equipped with retractable armrests and cup holders. The venue is wheelchair accessible and offers great prices on tickets as well as a variety of concessions.
The best movie theater I've been to...ever. The concessions area was clean, the staff was kind, courteous and very helpful and professional. We have a couple of boys who are special needs and have a hard time with loud noises among other things, but they wanted to see a movie that recently came out. We called the theater and asked a few questions a few days ahead of time and the staff was more than accommodating. They were willing to make a showing of the movie a sensory friendly version and they asked us when we were considering coming in and then they made a sensory friendly showing of the movie at the time that was beneficial to us. When we arrived, we paid for our tickets and concessions and headed into the theater. The manager was quite kind and helpful, the staff was understanding and helpful, they turned down the volume and turned the lights up in the theater for us. We were so thankful for their help and understanding, and I know our boys were very appreciative of everything. With everything the staff did, I couldn't be more appreciative and thankful for everything they did for my family. That added with the cleanliness of the facility, the caring, understanding and professional staff, the comfortable and spacious stadium style seats, large and clean bathrooms, means that we were so happy and enjoyed our time there so much that we can't wait to go back!

I went to @ Smithfield Cinemas theater with my family in Smithfield,nc on National Cinemas Day,$4. Great way to do it on a Sunday afternoon 8-27-23. Me & my nephews we saw Blue Beetle, while my mom & my sister they saw Barbie,it’s been a good day! Took pictures of theater & movie posters! It’s been a good day! 😎 I went with my family to the movies. Epic day
David W — Google review
This theater has stadium style seats (that are actually comfortable), great pricing, and some of the best popcorn I've ever had at a movie theater. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be visiting Smithfield Cinemas again when our next "must see in theaters" movie comes out.
Cassandra J — Google review
Great place. Just needs better workers working at the front. The American big girl always has an attitude every time we go . Today there was a guy with glasses and he was also rude….
Cici G — Google review
I had a very disappointing experience at Smithfield Cinemas. After our movie ended around 9:30, we felt incredibly uncomfortable leaving the theater— the staff waiting to clean just stared at us blankly while waiting for us to exit. No have a good night, did you enjoy the movie, anything. Then, when we went to the bathroom to fix our makeup and take a quick break (no more than five minutes, no joke), we were rudely told that they were closing and that we needed to leave. The staff member even said something about setting off the alarm, which made the whole interaction feel hostile and unnecessary. For a place meant to be enjoyable and welcoming, the customer service here was the opposite. Definitely won’t be coming back. Dont expect to have time to have a bathroom break if you're catching a late show.

hard in to location for me. interior seems clean and carpet seams same. got Lg Pop Corn. nice.
Eric L — Google review
Less crowded than other theaters. The popcorn is always fresh and the workers are generally quick and friendly! The theater itself looks a little dated inside but I prefer going here over regal or amc!
Karina M — Google review
The best little theatre around. Big, spacious theatre, great friendly staff, easy parking. Great snack options. It’s a lot dated but it’s a great theatre and it does require a long drive.

College
Johnston Community College, located on East Market Street, features the Arboretum, a hub for plant enthusiasts promoting responsible cultivation and conservation of native species. The educational environment benefits both students and visitors. While some staff members may appear disinterested, many are helpful and caring. Despite parking challenges, the college offers an excellent education with dedicated faculty. The community values this affordable resource for continuing education and appreciates its beautiful campus with a mini lake and pleasant weather.
We went to their open house and we were truly impressed! Everyone was so nice & inviting. This community college offers so many cool courses and opportunities for really anyone. Campus is small, but really pretty nice.

Many people gave JCC one star, but they’re just mad. I think most students are happy here and the ones that aren’t are leaving bad reviews. The students that aren’t struggling don’t leave reviews, which is why the reviews are so polarizing
Zada R — Google review
Maybe you shouldn’t cancel a CHARITY event 2 days before without any notice or a chance to rally more ticket sales. These people have worked all year preparing for this and other shows and you pull the rug out at the last minute… SHAME ON YOU!

I had some questions about getting my CDL reactive. Mrs. Pam, the good soul from this department told me everything I needed to know, gave me a flyer and told me about the upcoming classes. It was overall a warm, welcoming and professional experience. The JCC is the place to go. Not only for CDL also for other education if needed. Thanks again for your help.

This school is an amazing place to get an education. I have been going here for a couple of years now and I enjoy every semester. I can't say enough good things about the faculty, and how genuinely helpful that they are to their students. The only thing that I could mention negatively is the parking, it's ridiculous, so give your self plenty of time. I have met so many wonderful people and have really enjoyed my time here.

Fast food restaurant
Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q is a popular fast-food chain with 39 locations nationwide, known for its delicious fried chicken and Eastern North Carolina-style barbecue in vinegar-based sauce. Customers have praised the hot and tasty food, perfectly sweetened tea, and professional service at the drive-thru window. The restaurant's clean dining area features classic movie star photos on the walls and soft 50s and 60s music playing.
Late lunch of BBQ sandwich with fries and good ole sweet tea. Received slaw on the sandwich but would have liked a little more for the amount of BBQ on the sandwich. My friend got the tenders snack pack. The tenders were larger portions which was a pleasant surprise. Enough for one to go home in a box for later. Thier large cups are verifiable large. Order and pay at counter and they actually deliver to your table for dining inside.

Anytime there’s a SCNB I just have to stop and grab a NC style BBQ sandwich! I choose no slaw on the sandwich and a side of hush puppies and sweet tea!!! Never disappointed when I stop in. This location always makes me fat and happy !

We love coming to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q, always clean, always consistent, friendly staff and exceptional barbecue and their chicken is good as well.
Phillip P — Google review
Honestly, I never leave low reviews but I feel like this place needs an honest review. With the word "BBQ" in the name, you'd expect BBQ. They have one BBQ sandwich on the menu, completely dry with no BBQ sauce on it. I asked for BBQ sauce, they said they don't do that here. The banana pudding was old. The fries were fine. The food was overall extremely mediocre with no flavor. Prices were high for not much food. We won't be back.

Clean, efficient restaurant. Best place for local North Carolina chicken. I appreciate the sink up front to wash away the chicken grease.

Wow... Talk about wowing a customer, we were both blown away! We stopped in after we walked out of another restaurant we looked at, nothing wrong with it except overpriced. We had remembered eating at a Smithfield's probably 10-12 years ago when we were traveling and there happened to be a location nearby. This time we ordered a BBQ plate and chicken tender. A drink was surprisingly Free and a senior discount was applied when paying... All without us having to ask for any discounts... 2 nice surprises. The food was delivered to our table when it was ready, this was another surprise... what fast food place does this? The food was great, quick, good value and friendly service. When we were about done eating one of the workers came by and gave us a to go box with 2 more chicken tenders in it... another nice surprise... where has this ever happened before, not to me and surely never at Wendy's, McDonald's or Chick Fil A. Lastly when we left we discovered that charging our Tesla in their parking lot was Free on their Tesla destination chargers. Well we had a good quick lunch and have already told a few people about our experience. Little things like this make for a memorable experience... It's not always only about the food or the price that makes for a great experience.
Richard D — Google review
Normally we love this Smithfield’s location but we went an hour before close yesterday and our order was cold, looked like all the food was already put away so I am not sure what food we got but after eating it my granddaughter got sick. Just very disappointed because we do not usually have a problem. (This review is specifically for last night)
Karen P — Google review
Food is good but the lady at the drive thru was so rude to me complaining that my car was too short for the window and that it’s “bad for their backs” to have to reach down. Maybe she should find a different line of work if handing someone a bag of food is that hard on her. 😂

Fast food restaurant
Taco Bell is a popular fast-food chain that specializes in delicious Mexican-inspired dishes, offering a variety of options like tacos, quesadillas, and nachos. While some may prefer traditional tacos from local eateries, Taco Bell has its own charm with menu items that cater to diverse tastes. One standout option is the Grilled Cheese box, which has won over many fans. And let's not forget about their delightful cinnamon bonbons—an irresistible dessert choice!
Ordered a Mexican pizza with extra cheese and sour cream and what they gave me was not worth the money I spent for extra. Sorry but things are too expensive to not get what you pay for. Even fast food.
Christine D — Google review
Filthy is an understatement. My husband and I got food poisoning from this location. I'm not surprised When I showed up to pick up my order... I wish to God I could have canceled. The lobby was absolute filth. The bathrooms have non-working soap dispensers in both the male and female bathrooms So obviously no one's washing their hands..... The place wreaked of mold and urine. The drink station was absolutely filthy. Whoever does their health inspection is taking bribes because they had a 100 health rating and there's absolutely no way. So big fail on Smithfield Johnston County for allowing this facility to be in this state of filth and passing them?!? The food was absolutely pathetic and I wish I had not spent 20.00 for two things. Never ever again will I eat here or at any other taco bell location
M. K — Google review
TACO BELL IS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THIS LEVEL OF BS!!! This is probably the worst fast food restaurant EVER in terms of service. It’s always something. The drive thru is closed or the lobby is closed OR the entire place is closed super early. Orders are hardly ever right and if they are you can bet it’s poor quality. I could go on but it’s really not worth my time. They just don’t care either. I’ve sent feedback on multiple orders from the receipt and no one ever follows up. Seems like corporate doesn’t care either considering all these bad reviews. Photos show an order of nachos and cheese where I only received crumbs no actual nacho chips - couldn’t even dip the cheese. Then a burrito that was made by an amateur - all the beef was on one end and nothing but sour cream on the other - a little cheese mixed in the middle.
Jay — Google review
The service is just okay and when I do eat here the food is decent. However, whoever owns this store doesn't give a damn about the customer's experience... They don't even give you the option to order at the counter only at the kiosk and then the items on the kiosk don't match the items on their menu board nor the items on the app. Every time I come here there's an issue with something so this is going to be my last time here. And technically I'm leaving without ordering. So good luck if you choose this location. Unfortunately it's the only one in Smithfield. I suggest Don Betos... Authentic Mexican food for a good price.
Olivia J — Google review
I’m usually quite cautious when ordering from here because of the time it takes for the food to be made or my food to be incorrect. And I always feel bad because when I see people ask for their food to be remade the team members would get upset and give unprofessional responses. I have just moved here recently and used to go to an awesome Taco Bell back where I used to be. But here, when the times are busy, the atmosphere becomes thick and unpleasant. Makes me regret not making a good review towards my old Taco Bell location that I can’t visit anymore. Also, unsure if I found a pen or a syringe slide from under the front desk. I didn’t want to touch it but seeing that slide out made me question the food I was eating…
L — Google review
Somehow got one order wrong twice. First they gave us the wrong drink and blamed it on a “system error,” then gave us 2 cinnabon delights instead of 12 because their workers can’t count to twelve apparently. We were given the correct items after but the woman in the drive through was incredibly rude. What is going on with the workers here??? I understand you have a minimum wage job but have some decency PLEASE.
Sophia K — Google review
Im allergic to jalapenos, I asked for plain fries. I ended up getting everything in my fries including the item I'm very allergic too. I couldn't eat my taco also cause I don't know if your hands touched the item im allergic to, then my tacos. Luckily door dash refunded me. But it's disappointing when one can't follow easy directions, such as plain fries. Everytime I order from here,.something is missing, or something is bad or something is added that's not supposed to be. I will not be ordering again.
Katerina A — Google review
I spent $17 in drive-thru. I'll take the blame I will never got my drink so I guess I'll let that one slip. Usually you get fast food drinks first before your food ...But for $17 of food, It could at least have been hot....not fresh at all

Subway is a casual fast food restaurant that offers customizable sandwiches and salads with healthy options. It stands out as one of the finest Subway branches due to their exceptional customer service and impeccable cleanliness. The manager, Richard, maintains a spotless shop with an organized layout for preparing the subs. The entire premises, from the entrance to the counter, exudes cleanliness and orderliness. This level of care reflects a sense of pride from both Richard and his colleagues.
Great customer service and very clean. is under new management with all new employees. They get you in and out of their as quick as possible. Is definitely the best subway in Smithfield.

Placed order online, 1 Footlong Italian BMT and 1 Footlong Tuna with double meat. Picked up order came home and when wife upend her Italian BMT it wasn’t even cut, I opened my Tuna and all the Tuna was in one half the sandwich and veggies were in the other half. And no double meat to top it off. Unless you look at the half with all the Tuna then there might be double for the half it was on. Will never go back to that Subway ever
Lex T — Google review
I specifically go to this location and I go very frequently because it’s close to where I live and I don’t ever have any complaints about this Subway. I don’t prefer the other location in Smithfield in the plaza by the Dollar Tree. I prefer this location over that one. The food at this Subway is always good, fresh, and the employees are always super friendly and my food is made good and I’m always satisfied walking out! There’s never been any issues with my food. The only complaints that I have about this Subway is, a couple of weeks ago I came to this location around 5:30-6:00 in the evening, stopped to get some quick dinner and the door was locked, the open sign was on but not an employee in sight, I didn’t see anyone. Being’s that I didn’t want to go to the other Subway or plan on going anywhere else, I decided to wait thinking possibly the employee was on break and it wouldn’t be long before they would come and unlock the door and serve me. Unfortunately, I ended up waiting for over an hour just for no one to come and I ended up leaving. I went yesterday around the same time as I did a couple of weeks ago and it was the same situation. I walked up to the door, the door was locked and again, no employee in sight and the open sign was on. But I decided yesterday not to wait because I wasn’t sure if anyone was in there or not and I wasn’t sure if or how long it would be before someone to come. Before I went a couple of weeks ago, I also went before that and the same exact situation happened, that I experienced and explained above. So not only has this happened once or twice but it’s happened a couple of different times. In my personal opinion, this is completely unacceptable and unnecessary as a place of business! I am unsure if I’m the only one that this has happened to and/or if it’s happened to anyone else? Since this has definitely happened more than twice, this place will continue to loose a lot of business especially whenever something like this is currently happening. This shouldn’t continue to happen. With that being said and since this behavior is continuously being tolerated and is allowed multiple times on different occasions, this easily shows that is for sure poor management and no communication skills whatsoever! Whoever it is that works and is working at night and locking the door during opening hours, I believe that something needs to be done and management definitely needs to intervene and investigate why this has been happening majority of the time and leading on this situation so this can be quickly resolved, prevented so it doesn’t happen again. Immediately! I’m not normally the kind or type of person to complain, easily bothered, or leave a review about any situation especially dealing with this location but again, with this happening more than twice I will definitely leave a review on my terms and experience so that this is well-known of and hopefully, something is done and actions are taken and someone is held accountable for this, as soon as possible! I’m not completely sure if management looks at any of these reviews. This is not good for customer service and I don’t consider this good customer care!

I ordered a Coke, I was told the fountains weren't working. So, I grabbed a drink out of the freezer. The drink had mold in it. I informed the employee and she told me to grab another one. That one had mold in it too. finally, she went to the back and grabbed me a Coke. But it was hot. And I was told to put ice in a cup and pour the Coke in there. I am very disappointed and extremely disgusted. I will not be going here again. I would suggest cleaning the freezer and throwing away the drinks, who knows how many other drinks have mold in them?

Don't come here until this Subway gets their stuff together!! Is that not the saddest, greasiest cookie you've ever seen? The pictures don't really portray the reality of the situation, which was that I could not even pick this cookie up without it splitting into pieces because it couldn't support its weight. Even the employee working there said "Just so y'all know, I didn't make these cookies" when they noticed us looking at them. They looked so pitiful but we got them anyway because it's hard to make cookies taste bad regardless of how undercooked and greasy they are. Also it took 23 minutes for the employee to make two footlongs but I couldn't put the blame on them because they were the only employee there. We were the only customers there as well. Out of sweet tea and the sodas were flat. Ridiculous.

First couple of times with the African american ladies were great. Last two times with the white lady not so much. First time she said they stopped doing chopped salad for months when I had just got one the day prior. Then today I go in she's sweeping then grabs gloves with hands DID NOT wash hands and was touching the surface area that touches the food. I can't stand bacteria and germs and was grossed out so I dipped. Will not ever return here. Bad sanitation and service

If you are going to work retail, then you need to be able to speak up and not act like dead lice. I will say that the sliced meat choices were well presented. I got a meatball sub and they microwaved some from a bag and poured sauce over them. The topping section had lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and a very few dill pickles. Lots of empty slots. No tea was made and my wife got a salad and there were no forks in the store. She had to eat it with a spoon. One guy was too interested with getting away and sitting at a table to get on his phone. Don't waste your time. Very sad (I even gave them a good tip to hopefully motivate them). And I am not one to give bad reviews unless they are absolutely needed.

2nd time at this Subway, first visit out of tea, came in for the 2nd visit and was informed they were out of bacon and once again out of tea? I watched the staff carefully and come to the conclusion that they are very lazy and have no idea what a good work ethic is. It is sad that this subway location has such incompetent people that have no work ethic or personal pride and also lacks personal initiative and life ambition.

Barbecue restaurant
If you find yourself at the Carolina Premium Outlets, make sure to stop by Southern Smokehouse BBQ for a truly delightful dining experience. This gem serves up tender and moist barbecue that is perfectly spiced without being overly salty. The smoke ring on their meats is impressive, delivering just the right amount of smoky flavor that enhances rather than overwhelms the palate. Their menu features mouthwatering options like pork barbecue and brisket, both of which are highly praised for their rich flavors.
Good BBQ, Service was good. Owner came out to check on customer satisfaction. It was a little pricey, but, so is everything else nowadays
Bill O — Google review
Very disappointing. Poor customer service, worse food. Ordered chicken plate and pork nachos. 10 minutes later, the girl called me up to the counter and said they were out of chicken and asked what other meat I would like instead. Ok, no big, I’ll have brisket instead. Another several minutes went by and she came to me this time. She said the brisket costs more than the chicken and I would have to pay the difference, or I could just have the brisket sandwich. I opted for the sandwich, but thought that was pretty poor customer service. Then the food came. The “pork nachos” were a pile of broken chips covered in thousand island dressing and maybe a spoonful of pork (see pic). The brisket on the sandwich was grissely and tough, and the sausage was very undercooked. We also noticed some gross food handling violations (watched a girl come back from break, rub her face with bare hands, then handle food directly). Seems like the girls working here are unsupervised and don’t know what they are doing. Will not be back.

Only gave it 1 star, really should get 0. The St. Louis ribs were undercooked and had no char(bark). Could not eat them. Ice tea was no better. Tasted like water. BBQ sauce was better left alone. BEWARE and stay away. Worst place I've ever been to.

My wife and I started a dinner thing on Wednesday. “Where we going Wednesday” We should have visited during the day. The staff were great, very helpful and friendly. We ordered “The Smokehouse Sampler” sides Sunday Style Potato Salad and Jalapeno Bacon Mac & Cheese. The sides were good, not great. Potato Salad and Mac & Cheese were delicious. The Sausage and pulled pork from the Sampler tasted like they may have been out all day since lunch, they were very dry and not much taste. The Turkey was the best. It was very moist and tasty. Brisket came in second behind the turkey. Probably will not go back. Side note—if you use Waze as a GPS it will take you to the back door behind the mall. Follow the signs on the road instead.
Cam R — Google review
If I’d not committed to this exit, I would have turned around when I saw the Traeger rug out front and neon on the wall. The exhaust hood has lettering saying, “if you don’t smell smoked it ain’t real BBQ!” Well you can smell it, but the pulled pork didn’t have an iota of smoke ring. No pink to be found. If you tried really hard you could faintly taste smoke. The pork was incredibly dry and tough. The bun was cold. I also wasn’t expecting the sauce to be on the sandwich already. Tomatoes on a BBQ sandwich in ENC is a no go for me. It would have been better to let me sauce my sandwich instead of trying to drown it in sauce. Perhaps this was to cover up the dryness of the pork. The slaw was the only redeeming aspect to the sandwich. The Jalapeño-Bacon wasn’t at all what I was expecting. Perhaps that is on me, but throwing a a few slices of raw jalapeños on Mac and cheese isn’t standard for jalapeño Mac and cheese anywhere else I’ve ever been. The staff was friendly and the slaw was redeeming. This is why I give this review 2 stars rather than 1.

In Carolina Premium Outlets, definitely worth checking out. Tender, moist, spiced just right/not too salty, Great smoke Ring and the smoke flavor is present yet not overpowering, overall high quality and impressed. I had both the pork barbecue and the brisket. Their cornbread is excellent too, they make it in the form of a large cupcake or a medium sized muffin. To the owners: Keep up the great work and we'll be in there regularly
Rudy C — Google review
I can't explain in words how delicious their brisket is. Pork bbq is awesome too, nice and smokey. Slaw is yummy here too. You get a huge corn muffin with your meal.
Edward L — Google review
The staff was far more concerned with a group of people sitting in the corner whom I can only assume were the owners since they were coming and going freely out of the kitchen area. The hot dog bun for my daughter was stale. The sausage was dried and burnt along with the pulled pork being dry. Like in other reviews, the only redeeming factor was the baked beans and the cole slaw.

You can’t go wrong with Waffle House. This location was super clean! We arrived (starving) at 2am to an empty diner, got welcomed and served immediately - the two guys working were awesome! The food was cooked to perfection the toast and bacon was on point . I got the Texas bacon melt and my guy got the waffle and eggs breakfast. Everything was delicious and exactly what you expect from a delicious diner we got 2breakfasts 2coffees and 2orange juice for $32 we left a $10tip

Hair was found in bacon, asked for a remake and then never received them. Another hair was found at the bottom of scrambled eggs. Cook was not wearing a hairnet. I told the waitress that the cook with shoulder length hair should probably be wearing a hairnet as it is standard in the service industry to prevent this from happening. She told the manager and the manager put one on the cook. The manager did not address our table and I had to ask the waitress to comp our Allstar meal with the hairs.

Visited 4.14.25 @ 10am as always I go to Waffle House because the person I'm with eats there regularly. I ALWAYS get a dirty fork. I believe it is following me lol. Our server Kim was very patience with me. I order grits, scattered has browns cooked hard & OJ. It was good. The other order was All Star with Chicken Sausage. They loved everything about the meal & almost ordered another waffle. The cook came to every table to say hi.

Came in to a large group causing a fight and no tables available. Waitress was pulling a double and downright over it. One order was messed up, hair in another order, bacon was burnt to black, sweet teas fermented, and it took 1.5 hours to get our food! Cook had long hair and no hair net yet location has a 100 sanitation rating.

It wasn't my favorite waffle House I wanted a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and it didn't feel like paying too much for it. The grilled cheese with bacon was perfect The bacon was cooked correctly to my taste. I also got gravy and biscuits and Home fires with cheese. The gravy and biscuits taste it a little burnt, as did the cheese on the home fries. The thing I wanted was good which is why I got four stars. The rest so so.

If I could give it 0 stars I would! As soon as you walk in there was no welcoming , no smiles nothing. The server asked for my drink twice because she forgot she didn’t smile at all seemed rude and like she hated her job the whole time then it took forever to get my food the cooks where talking and not paying attention allot of the food looked over cooked. I finally got my waffle and while I was eating my waffle I saw my hashbrowns sit on the plate with my toast for 12 minutes they finally made my eggs and she brought my food over it didn’t have my cheese on my hashbrowns so I said something she took the plate back and warmed the cheese up on the grill and put it on cold hashbrowns the only thing that was hot was the eggs ! Horrible couldn’t even eat my food! Will never go back to this location again the one in Kenly is way better!

We did find one couple who had a wide array of items for home decor. Wound up buying a nice picture for $50 cash. very reasonable prices. They had traveled/lived all over the country so items vary. Overall we were not impressed with this place. Again it is for a select group of people of which we were not. Oh well the 4 hour drive over was a nice way to get out for a day.

The Smithfield Flea Market feels like stepping into a whole different world in the best way! There’s something here for the whole family to enjoy. While it’s strongly rooted in the Mexican/Latino/Spanish culture, the atmosphere is welcoming to everyone. Golf club
The Country Club of Johnston County, located on Country Club Road in Smithfield, is a semi-private club that offers daily-fee play on its 18-hole, 7,000-yard golf course. The course was designed by Ellis Maples and provides stunning views of Holts Lake. With a par of 72 over a 6,630-yard layout from the longest tees and Bermuda grass fairways, it offers an enjoyable challenge for golfers.
Twice in a single week that I give 5 stars. This is more like a 4.5 but I round up. First off, I played atrocious golf today. Warmup was fine but couldn't get irons in the air and when the did they were bad. But I've never let my poor play impact my honest reviews. Tee boxes 5/5 - These are the best kept tee boxes you will find in the area. Outside a private course and even including a couple I've played, these are top notch. Fairways 5/5 - Again, I thought that River G&CC had great fairways, these are even better. They have the plushness that was missing and are more full as a result. (Didn't help I couldn't hit off them despite that) Greens 3/5 - Honestly I wanted to give more for this, but there were not just one or two greens that needed repair but a few. Spots where flags were placed were nice and firm and fast, 10.5/11 on a stimp. I have pictures with why this score is what it is. Bunkers 5/5 - It always feels weird scoring bunkers, but I did end up in a couple and was able to easily get out due to the sand being medium weight but fluffy and deep enough to not go through the bottom. Amenities 3/5 - Driving range is in good shape, smaller sized putting green and no dedicated chipping/pitching area or bunker. Layout 5/5 - I really like the layout here. It's not overly long from the tips, and the tee box placement is just enough to tempt the shot shapers to gamble. The doglegs are designed purposefully to challenge distance control. Overall I really enjoyed the day out, I'm disappointed I couldn't play as well as this course deserved, but I will be back with $35 hot deals on GolfNow.

Played a week ago. 60+ dollars to play. Basically no parking lot (instantly didn’t expect much). All greens looked like hard mold… they were awful. Some hole had major tractor tire groves on them. $30 golf at best. They need to put a ton of work into this play. I won’t be back.
Casey R — Google review
It is a very nice place but while there the lights went out in the middle of the reception. The area for the food setup is to crowded and too close to the entrance to the kitchen. The door was hitting the servers everytime it opened. So I think the setup could be better or relocated.

We loved our day at Johnston County Country Club! Home inspectors gotta have fun too -
Randy B — Google review
Poor course management. As a group of two that was there on time we got moved to hole 10 due to a bunch of members teeing off around our tee time. Had to play the back 9 again to complete an entire round as when we made it back to 1 we had to wait for a group of 5 and two groups of 4. It gets better though, only played 17 due to other members stepping on teeboxes in front of us as we got back to hole 10 so we moved to 11. On hole 12 same group of members who thought it was okay to just step onto teeboxes in front of us decided to come up and make some pretty misogynistic comments because my wife who played in college on a full ride out drove me. Wouldn’t of posted such a low rated review if someone at the course would actually talk toe about it but here we are.
Nathan C — Google review
Where do I start? All power went out in the first hour of our reception. . The booking lady ran in a few mins later and said someone called her cell and said the power was out in the entire neighborhood BUT her cell was actually beside us where she left it so…. That made absolutely no sense. Also while we were there decorating that morning there were random women constantly in our way measuring the floors and making comments like “ we know you gals won’t mind”. We actually did mind because we paid our money for the building and they were invading our space, getting in the way and looking at us weird at the same time. Very disrespectful. There were teenagers coming from the back rooms and walking through our decorations, not saying excuse me and literally so close to knocking everything over. The door that the wedding party had to walk through was barely opening. Sooo we squeezed through during the processional. The wifi wasn’t working AT ALL! Thank God our event ended strong with worship and praise. Speaking of worship and praise, My husband and I are Christians so we didn’t want any alcohol sold or given out during our event. At the end of our event, beer was given to someone to take home. That was disrespectful!!!! So unprofessional!!!! If the people who paid for the space didn’t want alcohol there you shouldn’t have given it out! It was at the end but still that shouldn’t have happened. Were there good things done for us, yes…but the bad outweighed the good. Side note: There was a nice man who worked there. He treated us very kindly.
Brittani W — Google review
This course is my home away from home while traveling for work. Mr. McDonald, the head pro here, has always treated me well and been an example of class around the place. The course is perfectly laid out to walk or ride through beautiful rolling hills in open layouts, as well as tree lined fairways demanding your best shots from tee to green. I play here multiple times a week and look no further than Johnston County Country Club for my golf course of choice in the area! Don't go left on 2!
Preston S — Google review
Paid $55 at 3pm on a Sunday. Called and made a tee time, found out when I got on the first green that they were all punched and aerated. Oh yeah and a “No Cash policy” per the new owner. Digital Payment only. Good thing I showed up with a credit card, but I wish I didn’t! $30 golf at best. Won’t be back!

Neuse Little Theatre is a charming community theater located in a riverfront log cabin. Since its debut in 1974, it has been entertaining audiences with a variety of theatrical productions, including dramas, comedies, and musicals. The theater also offers kids' camps for young aspiring actors. Visitors have praised the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, making it an enjoyable experience for theatergoers. The local talent and performances are highly regarded, providing great entertainment value.
In the 1970s I participated in "Show Boat" at the Neuse Little Theater in the cast of children. This is a historic building in the town, I donated a red phone today, see to the right of the ticket office door and to the left of the deadbolt door, I left a note, please go pick it up today and put it inside to use in a future production, it is brand new! Merry Christmas to the wonderful Neuse River Little Theatre in Smithfield, N.C.

We had a grand time at the theater with a great friend visiting from outta town. We saw Arsenic and Old Lace and the cast was spot on! The place is small and dated but otherwise a fun evening! Grateful they are still producing solid plays in this little corner of the south. Happy 50th!!

We just had our first visit to the NLT this past weekend. The building is really unique and we were immediately curious about its history. Built in 1934 as a WPA project, I appreciate that they have preserved this space as a 110 seat theater. All the seats are good and the acoustics work well to hear the actors dialog. The cast and crew did a great job producing the play that we saw. We will be keeping an out for future shows to come see. Also, parking was easy and plentiful just across the street.

A lot of favoritism for a "community" theater . They will push you out if not part of their clique . It's sad more than anything. Glad I walked away years ago . Also , I was Just told they use board members over and over again for plays bc not enough people show up to auditions. But that's a lie And an excuse not to use the community. I know people that were just asked to be in plays that have never auditioned - how is this fair to those that do show up ?? I would never help them again unless All new people ran it But that will never happen bc they don't let anyone new in Unless they are like them all , fake . They say they want help but they really don't unless you are just like them and self centered . And I just got blocked by nlt member when they wanted explanation of my 1 star review. They didn't want to listen and call me a narcissist and blocked me. My opinion is a community theater should be about the community, not themselves.

Gotham's Deli is a delightful NYC-style eatery that brings the essence of New York delis right to downtown Smithfield. Known for its housemade bread, this charming spot serves up an array of mouthwatering sandwiches, including iconic options like the Grand Central and The Big Apple. Whether you're starting your day with a hearty breakfast sandwich or indulging in a mile-high lunch sub, each bite promises to be unforgettable.
Haven't even finished my sandwich (combo meal). Will definitely be taking half home! So awesome has to stop eating to complete this review. Young man suggested Dark Knight! And I tried the home made potato salad. Not like my sis' but it has me hooked! Awesome! I blindly picked this on way home because I didn't want the same! And it was a really great choice. If your in the area (Smithfield NC), put it on your list of places to eat!!!! I'll definitely go out of my way again, and maybe soon. Sure hope I try something different just to make sure.

Gotham's Deli is located in downtown Smithfield with plenty of free parking options on the street on a Saturday. We parked about a block away which allowed for a nice little stroll and visits to some of the other shops along the way. Wheelchair accessible and easy to find. Gotham's atmosphere is themed in New York sports memorabilia and articles about NYC. Fountain drinks are located in the back of the dining area and features Pepsi products, sweet tea and unsweet tea. The massive menu features Breakfast options and lunch/dinner options as well. Service was great, more than happy to provide some samples of sauces and chicken salad as well as explaining sandwiches and options. Food was good. I do feel that there were some things that could have been changed to the meals that we ate that could have improved the construction. However overall, the meal was fine. We would definitely try it again if we are back in the area and wanted sandwiches. The Carrot cake was a little dry but had good flavor. The chocolate chip cookie had an odd flavor but was very soft. The buffalo chicken sandwich has cream cheese, and the buffalo sauce has ranch in it which made it a very mild in Buffalo flavor. Plus the lettuce being sliced and shredded made it so the lettuce fell out of the sandwich a bit. The sourdough bread was good and nicely toasted. I opted for the bowtie turkey pasta which had a good creamy flavor. (updated to correct autocorrects from phone)

The sandwiches were just ok. They reminded me of the sandwiches you can buy from the deli at a grocery store for half the price. My wife's sandwich had some kind of fake bacon on it. The atmosphere is nice and the people were friendly. Parking was fine. Prices are typical.

Get a taste of a classic New York deli at Gotham. Sandwiches are tasty and fresh made, the counter is humming and the decor is classic! (I wish they had big fat everything New York style bagels but alas I think you have to go north for that) Come visit Ava Gardner's hometown and stop by Gotham for a sammy.

I love this place, I have been coming here for years. They have many different sandwich options that are very delicious. The sandwiches are also a pretty good size for a decent price. My favorites are the ones called the Brooklyn and the dark knight. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice as well. Very much New York themed with lots of New York decorations everywhere.

Gotham’s Deli is hands down my favorite deli! I’m a regular customer, and every visit is consistently excellent. The staff is always helpful, friendly, and welcoming. 4.5 stars! The food was good and plentiful. I got full off of my plate and had plenty to take home. I suggest you get there early because it gets busy really quick. You have the option to eat in or out, but either way you have to wait for 20 minutes or more for your order but that ensures your food will be piping hot when you get it(food well worth the wait). The staff was friendly and very helpful and clean building. I do see in the future this cafe becoming a big restaurant

I love a black owned business. The food is good & the portions are generous. I've been here 3 times, 1st & 2nd time I was told to order a particular item on a slower day (chicken & waffles & the nachos). The 3rd time I ordered the Alfredo which included salad&bread. The food was brought to the table, I inquired about the salad & was told they are out of salads(why give me dressing). I'd prefer to be told stuff like this ahead of time before paying so I can make the best choice. I will be back but will definitely ask more questions when ordering. THE CARROT CAKE BY FAR THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD.

After much anticipation I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. The lobster bites were undercooked and did not look or taste anything like lobster meat. The rest of the meal was not seasoned well and the price was ridiculous! If you’re going to charge higher prices, the quality of the food needs to be superior.

Hot dog restaurant
Millie's Hot Dogs received top marks for their cleanliness, with a spotless and shiny bathroom that had readily available soap. The price was considered cheap and fair, earning them a perfect rating. Customers praised the service provided by a very kind woman behind the counter, who was attentive and got orders correct. While the quality of their Brightleaf red hot dogs was generally good, some felt they tasted boiled instead of grilled, which left them unimpressed.
Millie's has really renewed their business by opening up an inside portion rather than it just being a little window where you go in and get your food. Great addition!
Dylan D — Google review
They have good food. Their hot dogs are great, BUT customer service could have been better. I felt a bit rushed and there was a lack of politeness with the person on the register. It is missing a sense of feeling welcomed by the staff. I felt the staff was quite disconnected from the customers.
Ant — Google review
Great little family run dinner with good food. The hot dogs were pretty decent and the staff is great. My hot dogs needed some time to cool down, as they were scorching hot and burnt my tongue. I would prefer a steamed bun, I think it really makes for a great dog.

Cleanliness - 5/5 Bathroom was spotless. Soap readily available. Booths, tables and counters spotless and shiny. Price - 5/5 Cheap and fair. Service - 5/5 Very kind woman behind the counter. Attentive and got my order correct. Quality - 4/5 Brightleaf red hot dogs. Tasted boiled. I'm not sure why all hot dog shops feel boiling hot dogs is the way to go. I like them grilled and thought that was what I was getting. Wasn't too impressed with the taste but I'd come back. And the coleslaw was a bit watery and had too much mayo but that was just my thought.

Just ordered 2 biscuits. Sausage must have been laying around for a good while as it was not freshly cooked and cheese was not melted. Biscuit was not fresh either. Hopefully their lunch is better.

Absolutely the worst HAM BISCUIT I have ever eatin in the whole 65 years I have been here and I have eating at millies many times but this was the first time it was awful from sight to taste. The restaurant is known for its generous portions, friendly staff, and accommodating service. Guests can indulge in shrimp, flounder, fried chicken, barbecue, and more with ample seating available indoors as well as the convenience of a drive-thru window.
Try the BBQ pulled pork plate. It was so much food I could hardly eat it all. Very good. Good dining room. Very nice people. Go there you won't regret it.

We stopped in here to have lunch on a Saturday. It was a group of 7 of us in we did the family style. The food was good and the service was great. If you are in the area and looking for shrimp, Flounder, fried chicken, barbecue, and all of the trimmings then this will be a great place. The only negative thing I can say is that it seemed like the tables were really small. The staff is super friendly and they accommodated us as we celebrated a birthday. There is a drive thru window and large dining area. Plenty of parking. We didn't have to wait either. Good food with good people. Enjoy! I highly recommend.

Omg where do I start. First time eating from here and will be the last. The food was disgusting. And $16.00 for some nasty greasy soggy oysters. Avoid this place at all cost.
SueEllen — Google review
Food is okay, but not a 5 star. Good fried chicken, coleslaw, and hush puppies, good staff, and good price.
Clifton H — Google review
Hi🙂 This was our very first time eating at Holt Lake. My husband and I both ordered seafood. I had the combination platter, the scallops were excellent, the shrimp were over done, clam strips and baby flounder were good. My husband ordered the all you can eat trout, the taste was good and it was hot. I will say the seafood could use a nice batter that has season to it and actually stays on it. Our waitress was very nice. I wish I knew her name, so I could give her credit. She did have a big party come in after we received our food, so she relied on one of the other waitresses to watch over her tables. Which was fine, but her stand in was slow and not always around when you needed more sweet tea. Which is a very big pet peeve of my husband's. But it was really good, the service was good over all, the prices were great(ur plate is full). We will go back.
T ( — Google review
Got there early so maybe the cook changes for the evening crowd. The food was greasy, under cooked and sloppy. Tables were sticky. That is always a bad sign of what’s to come. Had to send the shrimp back because it didn’t taste or look right. Second batch was almost as bad and the waitress was inattentive and a little rude. When my wife showed her the undercooked soggy shrimp she said “that’s how it’s supposed to look “ Food was expensive and couldn’t even eat most of it. You would think if you don’t eat the food they might offer a discount or even a response to our review. Perhaps they’re unable to read or right and couldn’t read instructions to cook shrimp. Our dogs seemed to enjoy it but were vomiting later. I read all of the great reviews but that was not our experience. Don’t think we’ll go back. We always leave at least a 20% tip or more. In this case the tip I offer is don’t eat there. The food wasn’t worth taking a picture of.
Tim T — Google review
Happy Happy Happy. Great job with the food...it was hot and well portioned. AC was working nice on this hot Carolina day and service was on point. The price per plate was a dollar or two more than we would pay at comparable BBQ spots...but we felt the quality, taste and portions far exceeded that increase.
Jay P — Google review
My husband and I ordered our meals; and the food was still hot when we got home. Much to our displeasure, our meals were mediocre. The chicken livers and fried chicken were good; however the side items were not so good. The green beans were not seasoned well (our dog loved them though) and the baked potato was hard. The tea tasted like it was made two weeks ago (or with dirty water or the container just needs to be cleaned). We tried to order corn, peas, and banana pudding with our meals, which were listed on the menu, but we were told they do not have those items.

The Ava Gardner Museum in Smithfield is a must-visit for fans of classic American cinema. This 5,000-square-foot museum showcases the life and work of the iconic Hollywood actress through an impressive collection of costumes, photos, awards, and changing exhibits. Visitors can immerse themselves in the legacy of Ava Gardner, one of the most beautiful faces in Hollywood history. Even those unfamiliar with her will find the museum to be a worthwhile experience, as knowledgeable guides provide insights into her life and career.
A Beautiful museum. The person in charge of the museum is very enthusiastic and you can tell that she loves her works, she make her best effort to answer any questions you might have and put that extra to make sure your visit is memorable. We visited Saturday afternoon and found parking in front of the museum. I did not see a parking lot. The museum is very clean and cozy. If you want to know more about this iconic artist and are in the area you must pay a visit.

I really was not familiar with Ava Gardner before I came to the museum. I was just looking for things to do in Smithfield, NC. But I found it was well worth my time. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about Ava Gardner, particularly the paintings of her, which each have their own unique trait. I would definitely recommend a visit.

This weekend, I traveled from out of town for a wedding and chose to visit the museum today. However, when I arrived at 4pm, the door was locked, and although the attendant was visible from the door, she never came to unlock it. The museum was scheduled to close at 5pm. I was very disappointed. Unfortunately the museum is closed on Monday’s which is a missed opportunity. The museum may want to notify the public they close 1 hour prior to the time listed on the website and the door. Hopefully this will help someone else choosing to visit.
Arisha F — Google review
A fine museum highlighting and celebrating the glamorous and gorgeous Ava Gardner. It goes through her life and work and tells her story. It's wonderful that this museum exists and is dedicated to the most famous actress to come out of North Carolina.

For anyone who's interested in the Golden age of movies, this is a great day trip. There's a short movie (18 minutes) to get you started and then you can explore the many costumes, ephemera, and personal items from Gqrdener's life. Be sure to take advantage of the docent and ask a lot of questions, it will make your trip more memorable. I spent 2 hours but you could spend less or more depending on your level of interest.

Park
Nestled at the intersection of South Front Street and Bridge Street, Smithfield Town Commons Park is a charming destination that beautifully blends history with nature. Established by the town's founder, John Smith Jr., this park features a scenic boat ramp and a paved walkway that meanders along the picturesque Neuse River. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as fishing, biking, or simply strolling through the lush surroundings.
It was raining here today (Sept 30, 2024). This place is also in a flood watch right now with a lot of other places because of Hurricane Helene aftermath. It looks like this place has its potential. I'll have to come back in the future hopefully and have a dryer experience.
The E — Google review
This place is so awesome. It is my favorite park we visited in NC. It is historic, and beautiful. The paved path walks you far along the river, under a bridge, and though the woods. People fish along the river, ride bikes on the path, and there is cazebos along the walk, as well as unique old building's like in my pictures. There is a huge old wooden outdoor stage we played around on, I believe it's for the old theater next door. I thought it was an abandoned building, but it is still a running theater with pictures of actors in the windows. We walked to it's balcony to enjoy the view of the river. Such a peaceful place, one of the most memorable walks we've taken. We didn't go all the way down the path, but in the areas we did walk there was mural paintings on the wall under the bridge with historic places in town painted on them. litter is at a minimum. I adored this place, it's next to the highway, but you forget that when your walking next to the river and amongst the trees. The picture where my bf is standing on a big rock, is actually a piece of an old bridge that used to be there in the early 1900 or late 1800 I believe. There is a sign on it explaining it, it was pretty awesome to see it still there, it explains the story of the old folks that used to use it and what for. If your looking for a peaceful romantic walk, this is surely the place!!!

Located in Downtown Smithfield, the Little Brown Jug is a historic bar that has been serving the community since its days as a Pure Oil Station in the 1950s. This cozy and welcoming watering hole offers a chill environment with a digital jukebox and an outdoor patio overlooking the water. The bar's rich history and friendly service make it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
I’ve always driven past this older cute building on the river but never went in. Happy we did try it. The staff was so sweet. Comfy bar with an older crowd. Out back they have seating outside. Bottles only. Great prices.
Nik K — Google review
The oldest bar in Smithfield, the Little Brown Jug originally operated as a Pure Oil Station in the 1950's, it was a place where you could get your car serviced and a grab a beer in the back room. This awesome staple of Smithfield has been serving its community in more ways than one for a long time and is very popular with the locals, but you don't have to be a local to feel the love the owners have put into this place. You can't help but relax in this cozy and chill environment! Regardless of whether your sitting outside on the large patio or inside the bar, there is not an uncomfortable chair in the house. As far as I am concerned you wont find a colder beer anywhere, and you certainly won't find a better assortment of beer in any bar within 20 miles. Total Wine or Wegman's doesn't count. This is a great little bar owned by a couple of great owners, Smithfield is lucky to have it. Cheers!

I've been coming here since the 90s and went for my uncle's birthday this time. Plenty of room to move around the bar, the mid room, and the outside porch. Super quaint with cold beers and good people. Stop in and get you one.

My first visit! It was nice. It is a little small, but welcoming with a digital jukebox. It has an outdoor patio I am looking forward to sitting on maybe my next visit that looks over the water. You can see a lighted path down below. He let me sample a few wines to pick one I liked, and that was a big help. I wouldn't hesitate to tell others about our visit here and to come back again. It was pleasant and we enjoyed it. **just realized the review didn't post when originally done. Sorry. We have been back since and the staff is still as friendly as ever. It was a nice interlude.

So, where to start on this one... When you drive up to this place you find out it's in someone's backyard. You will question yourself and your life choices up to this point and wonder what led you to this sketchy place in the middle of nowhere. Well let me save you some mental health. Do not bother unless you like feeling on edge. It only took about 5 mins to see the place, yet 10 mins to get to it from the interstate. You are better off just looking at the pictures I took and save the gas. This place hasn't been kept up in any way. OSHA would have a field day with this place. We were also on the look out for the dogs the signs warmed us about as we drove in these people's driveway. None were found. We expected someone to run after us at any point. Needless to say. We got in there and got our pictures and got the heck out of that place too sweet. I'm writing this so of course we made it out alive but if I were you I wouldn't risk it.

It's not very often I feel the need to treat myself. I'm a hard working college student that loves to visit and get a matcha with a double shot of espresso. With its charming decor featuring vintage signs, this quaint eatery offers a warm atmosphere where you can enjoy delicious burgers, sandwiches, and hearty breakfasts. Guests rave about the fantastic service that makes everyone feel like a local.
Breakfast that has everything...and the kitchen sink. Located in downtown Smithfield the Diner is centrally located for a quick grab and go or a stop in to grab a good breakfast to get the day started. My go to is the Kitchen Sink Omelet and home fries. As the name implies it has a variety of items that fill you up. This comes in a omelet or a breakfast wrap. I enjoy coming in here eating and seeing the people of Smithfield come together for family meals or just a group of people wanting to share fellowship. Be aware though: On street parking, so fold in your mirrors! Also this is a Pepsi establishment.

The waiter was friendly. The food is okay. I got the shrimp plate with Mac and cheese and onion rings. Everything was okay except the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese looked and tasted like store bought leftovers. My daughter ordered double grilled cheese sandwich and side salad. The lettuce was nearly all white. The most disappointing part was the attitude of the lady owner when paying. Not only was she rude but she expected my daughter to have understand her with her my full of food and seemed mad that she misunderstood what she was saying. She then threw the credit card at her instead of handing to her. I doubt we will ever be back or recommend this place.

Ready Set Escape, located on West Market Street in Smithfield, offers an exhilarating experience for groups of up to 25 players aged ten and above. Participants are locked in escape rooms where they must work together to uncover clues and solve puzzles. The facility is suitable for both beginners and puzzle enthusiasts.
Very fun and creative escape room! George the owner and Ava were very helpful and nice! It was nice to get the brain flowing with riddles and challenges! Will be back for more ☺️

Brought my parents who are escape room newbies here when they came to visit. My husband and I had done a couple of escape rooms before but never made it out. This was the first one we escaped from thanks to George's hints. I appreciated the hints from the parrot that my husband couldn't be too proud to say no to. The only drawback was that my parents (who are in their 60s) had a bit of a hard time seeing the clues and the locks but we got it done and had a blast doing it!

Me and my group had a great time at Ready Set Escape! Booking was made easy with a text/phone call and the staff were amazing. We chose the hardest room and didn’t make it out in time but it was fun figuring everything out! Hints were definitely needed for us 😂

Great host, not too hard but challenging. All the guys went for my son’s 14th birthday and they’re still talking about it. Can’t wait to go back!

The owner was very engaging. Great personality. The rooms were thought through. The themes are good. We made it out with 5 min to spare. Definitely makes you think and work as a team.

Excellent escape room. Excellent/enthusiastic host with great rooms. The pirate room was a big hit with out party. We really enjoyed the atmosphere abs the puzzles made sense to us. We enjoyed it so much We did a second one which isbreally good but had a much harder time. Definitely recommend for anyone in the area.

This is the third time I've been to RSE and it's been constantly top notch, of the 30+ escape rooms I've done, these guys are top of the list when it comes to customer satisfaction. The rooms are well thought out and fun for the whole family.

Great for novices and for experienced fans who just love the hunt and puzzles. If you're looking for total immersion (through effects, sets, etc.) or high-tech gadgetry, you may be disappointed... at least by Hollywood Heist. The owner, George, was also our game master and has a passion for his craft and his customers as evidenced by the waiting room. There are phone chargers in the lock boxes while you play, complimentary drinks, and plenty of items and posters to keep you occupied! We enjoyed Hollywood Heist so much, we stuck around for Pirate's Plunder. There is a mix of puzzle types, but you are mostly working to find lock combinations and puzzles were generally sequential. There were a couple times in both rooms where we (5 of us) had three efforts being worked simultaneously. This gave us more to do, but it did require more solid communication to make sure things weren't overlooked or that we weren't stepping on each other's puzzles. Kids could contribute well in either room, but adults over 35 (40?) will likely get the biggest kick recounting the 90s era films as they follow Tom Hanks' career during the 1-hour problem-solving mystery. We were just passing through town, but we would definitely come back, if we were close, to see the new room when it opens.

Buffalo Creek Greenway

Park
Explore the Buffalo Creek Greenway, a scenic pathway perfect for walking, running, or biking along the Neuse Riverwalk. Starting from Downtown Smithfield, you can enjoy beautiful scenery and visit historic sites in the area. The greenway offers multiple access points throughout Historic Downtown Smithfield, with the trailhead at Smithfield Community Park being a popular entrance. It's a great place for leisurely walks, jogging, and picnics while providing a peaceful and laid-back atmosphere.
Beautiful, safe trail. Limited parking spots.
L N — Google review
The walking path is of satisfactory quality, blacktop deserving a four-star rating. However, it would benefit from the installation of benches at regular intervals, approximately every half mile. Google Maps depicts the entire greenway as the Smithfield Neuse Riverwalk. While there are a few signs that refer to it as the Buffalo Creek Greenway, The greenway spans approximately three miles, connecting Bob Wallace Jaycee Kiddie Park to Smithfield Community Park. The terrain is generally flat, following the course of the Neuse River and Buffalo Creek.

11-9-24 Nice greenway, at about 3 miles in length one way. We hiked from its northernmost end at Smithfield Communtiy Park to its southernmost end at Bob Wallace Jaycee Kiddie Park and then back. Per Strava, this was 6.3 miles with 86 feet elevation gain total. There is parking at both aforementioned ends/parks, with a ton at Smithfield Communtiy Park. As mentioned, we accessed it at Smithfield Communtiy Park with several points of entry behind soccer fields, baseball fields, etc. AllTrails led us in the right direction for entry. Aside from the parks listed, the greenway can be accessed off of Front Street at a couple of places with no direct parking. Also has a private neighborhood entrance. The greenway is mostly shaded to semi-shaded with one part completely open, closer to a water treatment plant. Expect it to be well utilized and well maintained, with varying views ranging from forest areas, views of the Neuse, several bridges across Buffalo Creek, with benches and doggie bags/trash cans throughout. We enjoyed the painted murals courtesy of Smithfield Selma High School. We liked the tunnels under 70 Business and Buffalo Road as this gave the greenway both an urban and rural aspect. We enjoyed this greenway and a great option for walking/biking/running.

Nice park. Lots of activities for all ages.

Great place to go for walks, great place to take the kids to play, great place to jog within confines of an area. Usually pretty quiet and laid back.

The greenway is pretty awesome, a fun trip on a bike or long board.

Traditional American restaurant
Heidi's Two Wheel Cafe is a relaxed establishment with a breezy outdoor seating area that serves familiar pub food like burgers, wings, and oysters. The restaurant has a small indoor dining space, so there might be a short wait time. However, this is not an issue as there is ample room outside to wait comfortably while enjoying a cold beer. Many locals frequent the place and recommend it highly.
Memorable Ruben with epic atmosphere. I have a rule that if I am trying a place for the first time and they have a ruben on the menu, that is what I order. So, I put my order in and a side of mozzarella sticks. First, the sticks came out perfect. They were not burned in the least and the cheese was perfectly melted just a bit in the center. The ruben was perfect. no one element over powered the other. LOVED IT! The fries were something I had never experienced before. They looked like the fried just got fat...and good. I really enjoyed my lunch. With my return to the office and working just off downtown Smithfield I will definitely be putting this place into rotation for a spot to eat. Things like this is making the return to the office bearable!

Classic local bar, with American bites , strong cocktails, and cozy patio. Smoking is allowed on patio.

We ate with my family the other night. My family eats here all the time and I now know why!! Hands down the best food with such a great vibe we have had in a long time. The best boneless wings I have had! Love the cheese curds. The homemade ranch?? Oh it needs to be bottled and sold!! My husband and I are taking a play from my family and going to makeHeidi’s our date spot!
Michelle S — Google review
We ordered the burnt ends and Carolina burger. Both meals were very good. My husband had the burger he said it was good but average. I had the Burnt ends they were very flavorful and cook perfectly. We had our dog with us and they let us sit on the patio which was nice and quiet at that time. Would definitely go back.

I love a hole in the wall. This place is full of locals, which is a great sign. Excellent fried shrimp, lightly battered. Very very good grilled scallops with perfectly steamed broccoli. I wanna try the wings next time.
Harriet B — Google review
Service was poor. Wait time to order was long. From time of order to get meal was almost a hour. Never refilled my drink. Food was mediocre. Restaurant was very cold.
Cheri W — Google review
We had a great experience at this restaurant! Not a huge dining area inside so we had @ 20 minute wait. Not a problem as there is plenty of room outside to wait + enjoyed a cold beer as well. While waiting we met serve locals that said we were definitely at the right place. Tons of choices on the menu, but all 4 of us got seafood and it was very good. We also got the Pick 4 Sampler as an app that we shared - it was very good as well. Our server was Toby and she was great! If you're looking for a laid back atmosphere with great food in the Smithfield area - this is an excellent choice!
Chris F — Google review
Complete dive biker bar with great food. Service is as fast as it can be. Just enjoy your time and yourself while you're here. The portions are massive and the prices are fantastic. If you're looking for fancy go somewhere else.

Pizza delivery
Domino's Pizza is a popular delivery and carryout chain that offers an extensive selection of pizzas along with a variety of other delicious dishes and sides. Customers often appreciate the friendly service, as illustrated by one experience where a dedicated staff member went above and beyond to ensure an order was remade promptly after it was misplaced. This level of commitment highlights the importance of having capable team members who can handle busy situations effectively.
The ONLY reason I am giving a 5star is due to the fact the girl behind the counter helped me out big time. I placed my order at 715pm. I came back to pick it up about 745pm because they were busy. My order turned up lost and she remade it with no issues. Also, she SHOULD be a MANAGER if she is going to close by herself. There is NO REASON SHE NEEDS TO USE ANOTHER MANAGERS NUMBER! In other words this girl has to clock her manager in so she can use the code to close down the store. In my opinion that's messed up.
Alisha L — Google review
I ordered this pizza online, and this is not my norml Domino's. The customer service was great!!!! Gentlemen even opened the door for me on the way out. Pizza was made as ordered but it was burned. So, once cold, they were hard as rocks! Pizza is the best cold but not when the are hard as a brick. They would have been perfect if not over-cooked.

I went here last night around 10 o’clock and me and my husband well mainly my husband notice that the guy that was cooking/prepping the food was touching the pepperonis, the sausages, the cheese with his bare hands ; then rubbing his nose, and touching the food again.. as my husband ran it by another employee, they stated that they aren’t allowed to use gloves , now I work in a nursing field, so I understand the part about the gloves being unsanitary , but there got to be something they can do. I rather take my chances with gloves than somebody bare hands all over my food. But besides all that the wings were pretty good. The pizza with the pepperoni was dried out, but my cheese pizza was OK. I only kept with the order because I didn’t see him fixing my order and rubbing his nose, but I saw him fix another person order doing all that, but I don’t think I will be going back.
Lachrista W — Google review
Horrible dry pizza which seemed as if had been sitting a long time. I’ve never had pizza this bad. When I called, the guy he stated that he had to ask his manager if he could replace it. They are being very rude about replacing it & hung up after saying we had to show him the pizza. I’m going to do just that in this post.

I normally don’t complain especially about this dominos . I order here a lot but tonight was unacceptable. I recently ordered & everything was completely wrong. For starters i did not receive my specialty chicken at all. My pizza was supposed to be handmade pepperoni and bacon yet i received hand tossed chicken & bacon pizza. My pasta was supposed to be chicken and steak & it was only chicken. I also paid for 3 dipping sauces & did not receive any of them. I didn’t receive anything I ordered. I didn’t even touch the food. Then they wouldn’t even pick up the phone when I called. I either want a full refund or the right order. I attached the photos of the food i received. Again my chicken & dipping cups were missing & the food I did receive was wrong.

I am so angry. The app isn’t working on mine or my husbands phone, the website isn’t working. We call the phone number, can’t get with anyone at the store and we finally speak with customer service, they said they are having “connectivity issues” and can’t place the order and they have to transfer us and we got hung up on twice. I love the new stuffed crust pizza and now my husband has to drive there and wait because their online system is horrible! In person customer service is great though.

Terrible store. We gave up in this location months ago because of the constant quality issues. Well, we decided to give them another shot tonight and they have not changed at all. One of our pizzas was so thin (ordered hand tossed) that it looked like cardboard. The same pizza also had almost no toppings or sauce on it and they managed to make one slice so tiny that even a toddler wasnt happy with it. Not even sure how you can cut a pizza to have such a tiny slice without making another slice huge....but they found a way. Definitely done with this location. Maybe Rosewood will better.

I was beyond disappointed! I honestly thought I was being pranked when I opened my box. NEVER have I ever experience something like this. Me nor my family didn't eat it we trashed it. Looked like leftover pizza. The picture posted is what was delivered to my home by their driver. Just unacceptable!! Look on door dash for the photo.
