Battleship North Carolina, located in Downtown Wilmington, NC, is a renowned museum and attraction that offers visitors a chance to explore the ship's history. Commissioned in 1941 and earning 15 battle stars during World War II, it now serves as a memorial with exhibits showcasing its wartime service. Visitors can tour the ship from top to bottom, discovering hidden engine rooms and galleys while learning about its unique history.
What a great experience being able to walk through this great piece of history. Bought tickets online to speed things up upon getting there. There are a lot of narrow/steep stairs, so be aware of that. Overall, it was an amazing experience seeing the inside of this battleship! I would highly recommend it if you're in the area to do this tour.

Visiting the Battleship North Carolina was such a memorable experience! It’s truly impressive to see this historic World War II warship up close, and it gives you a real sense of the scale and strength of naval history. Walking around the grounds is free, which makes it easy to admire the ship from the outside and snap some great photos. If you’d like to explore onboard, there is an admission fee—but from what I’ve heard, it’s absolutely worth it. Since we were short on time, we didn’t get to go inside, but even just seeing the exterior was fascinating. For those planning a full tour, I’d recommend setting aside at least two hours to really experience the ship, its exhibits, and the details of life at sea. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just looking for a unique stop in Wilmington, this is definitely worth a visit! ⚓️

Spent about an hour here with my family of four. Make sure your kids use the restroom before going in: we had to cut our visit short because the toilets were down and we had to use the portapotties outside. I would recommend doing the lower decks first then the upper decks. Really cool living museum. Just wish we could have stayed longer. It's better suited to order kids, although our 4 yo did great.

What an incredible experience!! I highly recommend coming here! It was a cloudy overcast Tuesday and the ship didn’t have too many people touring. We chose to do the self paced tour on our own. There are plenty of signs to read about every part of the ship. Plan to spend at least 2-3 hours. There were fans blowing in areas inside the ship which made it nice when we started feeling hot.

You can feel chills of respect ,and you can feel the souls of these brave sailors who endure the battles !! Still embedded on the USS NC , highly recommend the experience , not suitable for small children thats for sure , the Confine spaces and the small access to the rooms might be tricky , I’ve work before on ships , a war ship ! My utmost respect for the people who Do or did . Definitely visit this part of the American History in the Flesh makes you appreciate the value of freedom , but don’t get comfy people you might get call soon to the battle of war ! You never know !! The gift shop was little bit pricey ! Adapting little bit high tech to the shop would be better , the only problem they only work on donations no government funding , like I always say local economies are the best ! And thanks to the tour guides that donate Their time during The Weeknd !!! Thanks. Guys what an honor !!
Roberto F — Google review
Such a stunning example of American military might from WWII!! It had been almost 30 years since my last visit and I thoroughly enjoyed spending several hours going all over the ship!! All the volunteers were so helpful in answering questions and they had a really nice gift shop too. Weather was quite nice so we walked the boardwalk around the ship too. Well worth going and seeing this Great battleship!
Lael R — Google review
This is a great reminder of the boldness, courage, and sacrifice of our service members. This is a great tour of an amazing piece of our country's history. The cost is nominal and the access is pretty amazing. It certainly gives you a glimpse into life on a battleship. The only thing I wish the memorial could have was more videos or interactive experiences to help visualize aspects of the ship and life. Otherwise, it is worth the visit.
Adam L — Google review
Step Back in Time Aboard the USS North Carolina! Visiting the Battleship North Carolina was an unforgettable experience. It’s not just a ship—it’s a floating museum packed with history. Walking through the narrow corridors, engine rooms, and crew quarters really gave us a sense of what life was like during WWII. The self-guided tour lets you explore at your own pace, and there’s so much to see—from the giant guns on deck to the kitchen, bunks, and command center. Perfect for history buffs, families, or anyone who loves exploring something unique. Pro tip: Wear comfy shoes and be ready to climb ladders and steep stairs—it’s a real workout, but so worth it!

Historical landmark
In the heart of downtown Wilmington, visitors can immerse themselves in history and indulge in shopping and dining at The Cotton Exchange. This popular destination comprises eight beautifully restored brick buildings from the early 20th century, housing 30 specialty shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. The site offers a unique shopping experience with its diverse array of specialty stores set amidst charming courtyards and scenic river views.
Love all the little shops within the Cotton Exchange! There is everything from hot sauces-my son purchased a few bottles and they are fabulous. The gentleman that helped my son(I think he was the owner)was super knowledgeable about the sauces in the shop. He asked my son what kind of flavors he liked and made suggestions for him. You can have samples of the different sauces which is very nice. They are super delicious! You can also find eclectic jewelry and clothing to flavored olive oil and vinegars. I have purchased different Balsamic vinegars at The Olive Shop and we love them so much! They also offer sample flavors which is so great to be able to decide based on the actual flavor profile and not just imagine what they will taste like😋 While we were there, I purchased a very pretty ring at Gems4U, a nice little shop of handmade one of a kind pieces. I have several necklace pieces like the gems in this shop and I love them all, so when I saw the ones here, I had to check them out. There are beautiful wire wrapped pendants with all kinds of gems, sea glass and fossils. There are gem beaded bracelets and cool rings. My son got a cool snake ring gift for his girlfriend and I purchased this purple heart 💜 ring for myself. Make sure to stop at this shop and see Mary who creates the most beautiful pieces, she is super sweet and very knowledgeable about her products. Very happy with our purchases! I just wanted to buy them all🥰😍Don't miss out on visiting The Cotton Exchange👍🏻

Fun to walk around and see the old architecture of the building. However the shops were nothing I was truly interested in purchasing from. Some where very overpriced. $400 sweatshirts & $600 overalls. No thanks. Lots of shops closed on a Tuesday mid-day. We found that a little odd. Might come back for the restaurants one day. Otherwise it was a spot I can say I went to & will probably not bother returning to.

I've visited The Cotton Exchange off and on for most of my life. I've always enjoyed visiting the variety of shops and restaurants, locally owned. While I still enjoyed the atmosphere this last trip, some of the stores I used to really enjoy were no longer there. There are still good options, but as with time, all things change. Still a unique place to visit at least once with Paddy's Hollow always being my go-to dining option and Top Toad the shopping option (with Ladybug the "guard" dog!)

I was traveling in Wilmington and had an opportunity to stop in for a haircut. I had a hard time getting there after work, but they happily agreed to stay late for me. Got a great haircut and will absolutely go back again.

Front Street Brewery is a popular microbrewery located in Wilmington, offering a variety of house beers and elevated pub food. The brewery also provides daily tours for visitors to learn about the beer-making process. Situated within old warehouses and brick buildings, it is part of a vibrant microbrewery scene that includes other notable establishments like Waterline Brewing and Flytrap Brewery.
A nice little spot for craft beer and good food. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was excellent. Came with house made chips, which I'm a sucker for. They were delicious. To my surprise, not just a brewery, they have hundreds of bottles of whiskey at the bar. This is definitely a place to try a bourbon you have never had to taste test. So much, that I went there twice in one week. The bartender understands her whiskeys. Ask for a recommendation!

Absolutely best deal for a flight. Five 5 ounce pours for 14.49. SLAP sauce on wings is best pick. Really cool interior. Customer service from Nancy was spot on.

What an outstanding find. People were friendly and attentive, great menu with some southern classics like shrimp and cheesy grits, Carolina BBQ pulled pork...even a couple of vegan wrap/sandwich options! Fried pickles with housemade pickles were soooooo good. Probably the best you'll eat. Pulled pork BBQ sandwich was great. Smoky flavor, moderately wet slaw and a soft bun was wonderful. Huge whiskey selection and delicious seasonal beers.

I am so glad I chose Front Street Brewery for our lunch after the Cape Fear River boat ride. We came at 1pm, the peak hour for restaurant, it was full but yet we had our table immediately. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, it seemed that it had renovated from an old building. Our server Cameron was super helpful, super attentive, and always with a smile. My husband had a sandwich with a dark beer which he really liked and I had the fish and chips. Bathroom was also nicely decorated and very clean even with the amount of clientele they have during the lunch time. Highly recommend when you come to visit Wilmington.

Great food and drinks. My mom and I shared a pimento smash burger and that was perfect for us since it had two patties. The fries were just right, crispy but not overdone. The beer nuggets were incredible as well, with queso and marinara.

My girlfriend and I came here tonight, she's been before but it was my first time. We were greeted and seated and that's when it took a turn for the worst. We ordered Chips and Salsa *menu said it comes with a lot of chips, it doesn't. For my main dish I got the quesadilla with mexican red rice, the rice was undercooked and hard while the quesdilla was completely burnt and charred. I don't know how it passed the quality check in the kitchen, when the server saw it she was visibly disgusted along with my girlfriend and I. It was the fastest we've ever dined and we barely ate, the food was so bad it ruined my appetite for the remainder of the night and felt sick after...

We had a great time at Front Street. Our server was awesome and “understood the assignment.” She got our appetizer and the meal for our 4-and-a-half year old put in first and took great care of us. The beers we had were amazing and I highly recommend the slapwhich. Great food, good service, good atmosphere. When we come back this way, we will be back for sure.

Came over to Wilmington today to get out of Jacksonville area, had originally looked at another restaurant that had an hour and a half wait. We took a short walk over to front Street brewery. We only waited a few minutes while we grabbed a few beers at the bar and were able to be seated upstairs! Everyone we encountered was kind and the service was great!! Food was genuinely delicious!!!

Wilmington Riverwalk

4.7
(2756)
The Wilmington Riverwalk is a picturesque walkway that offers stunning views of the Cape Fear River and the downtown area. Stretching for about a mile from Nunn Street to the Isabella Holmes Bridge, it provides ample space for walkers, joggers, and bikers to enjoy the scenic riverfront and take in local landmarks such as the USS Battleship North Carolina and The Cotton Exchange.
This is a great place for a walk. I saw many walking dogs or running as well. It's very scenic, shaded in areas and has benches for sitting and resting along the way. There is a public restroom on the South end that I noticed. I'm not sure how long the trail is but I did walk about thirty minutes both ways.
Mary P — Google review
The Wilmington Riverwalk is such a lovely place to explore, especially if you enjoy history, scenic views, and a relaxed stroll along the water. It’s lined with charming shops, restaurants, and cafés, making it easy to turn a simple walk into a fun outing with plenty of stops along the way. While it can get very hot during the day in summer—even into September—I’d highly recommend visiting in the evening when the sun sets or during the cooler months like fall and winter. The atmosphere feels much more comfortable then, and you can really take in the beauty of the riverfront without the heat. The historic surroundings add a special charm, and there’s always something interesting to see, whether it’s boats along the water or local street activity. A perfect spot for a casual walk, date night, or just soaking in the Wilmington vibe when the weather is right!
Mr. D — Google review
I had the opportunity to go to a Tedeschi Trucks Band concert in Wilmington and I did the walk on the river walk. It was so pretty and it was such a beautiful day. I love the houseboats on the water. Those are really cool. I would love to live in one of those.
Robin B — Google review
What a spectacular view of USS battleship and the sunsets if you are there in the evenings. We had a day trip to Carolina beach and on the way wanted to have a dinner so decided to go to downtown. While we were exploring food, walked all the way to riverfront and it was so beautiful. Must visit place.
Deepak K — Google review
The Wilmington Riverwalk is truly beautiful. I’ve walked it many many times. I finally got the chance to take the whole family and it stinks because there are a few complaints. One, it’s hard to feel safe at times when walking, I’ll just say that. Two, the boards are in bad shape. Very uneven, splitting relentlessly. You have to wonder what the plan is for them. I totally get trying to preserve history but at some point you’ve got to fix it up (I think that’s what they’re doing right now with a section). They definitely went through the entire Riverwalk and put new screws in, which is nice at least. This shows they’re managing it and taking care of it. I do think with how significant of a landmark this is for Wilmington, that they should have some sort of patrolling officer in the area. Still love it here and will be back.
Jordan N — Google review
Wilmington is a terrific southern city that seems to improve every year. Compared to when I last visited about 13 years ago, the area has blossomed aesthetically, commercially, and infrastructure wise. The Riverwalk is always beautiful, with lots of shops and some restaurants along the way. The city has improved sidewalks and there seems to be a good police presence to help keep your visit safe.
Alex S — Google review
I went down to the walk for the independence day celebration and fireworks. Had a good time aside from finding a spot to sit / stand because of the crowd but that's to be expected with the holiday. Sorry my videos aren't the best I'm no camera man 😅
Jonathan — Google review
We went labor day weekend and it was very very crowded. I know it's a tourist spot anywat but I'm sure it was worse because of the holiday weekend. We had to park at the very top of the parking garage. We tried to go somewhere to eat dinner but every place we tried seemed to have a 1.5 to 2 hour wait. We plan to come back during the off season so hopefully we will get a chance to eat somewhere here. We ended up getting gelato at gelarto which was very tasty. The view of the battleship across the water was nice and at sunset it was lit up with red, white, and blue. We also saw a baby alligator!

I had a BALL! As an enthusiast, and professional paranormal investigator, I felt right at home. I wish I could have taken more pictures and video, but video is not allowed and pictures can only be taken in designated areas.... like the ones I posted. Most amazingly, if you ever heard the story of JOE BALDWIN AND THE MACO LIGHT, his actual lantern is in there. If you are in Wilmington I highly suggest you visit. It's 3.00 well spent!!!

This place is AWESOME! I drove 2 hours just to come see this place and it delivered 100%. A must see if you're in Wilmington. Sword Swallowers, Mirror Mazes, actual paintings from REAL Serial Killers, Anton LaVey's actual chair, and a surprising amount of unicorn paraphernalia -- this place has got it all so do yourself a favor and check out Museum of the Bizarre!
Nick S — Google review
A cute little spot! The museum was very interesting and I learned a lot. We tried the maze of mirrors but my brain could not handle it! Definitely a great way to spend some time when in Wilmington!
Karina C — Google review
Unusual? Absolutely. And at $3 per person, it's a curious little detour that doesn't break the budget. We spent under an hour browsing their compact but densely packed collection of macabre, peculiar, and downright strange artifacts. Among the exhibits: letters penned by convicted serial killers, graphic crime scene photographs, purported human and animal remains, theatrical masks and vintage clothing, plus a lock of Alexander Hamilton's hair, Houdini's Ouija board, and a plaster cast of what's claimed to be a Bigfoot footprint. There were also a few movie props scattered throughout, adding a pop culture twist to the mix. Photography is off-limits except in clearly marked zones, so don't expect to document everything. We passed on the mirror maze this time around. Are all of this items authentic and real? Are they fabricated and fake? It hovers somewhere in that murky middle but it's compelling either way. And for the price, it's hard to argue. I'm not sure how much of this is appropriate for younger eyes, so parents should keep that in mind.

It was ok alot of stuff to see. The mirror maze wasn't worth the extra price tho it was too quick and the fortune telling thing took money from us
Christina M — Google review
Its fun, kid friendly and definitely creepy but realize that it could be a quick 20min pop in and pop out for some. Others might want to really delve into the artifacts, letters, weapons. Its worth the small price of admission. 😉

Port City Java is a coffeehouse chain known for its house-roasted, organic java and a variety of breakfast items, sandwiches, and baked goods. The coffee is brewed using the Japanese Iced Coffee method, resulting in a flavorful and complex brew. Located on Market Street, it offers quick service through the drive-through with friendly staff. The shop has a pleasant ambiance with vintage decor and plenty of mini plants. It also provides a quiet reading area for customers to enjoy their drinks while reading in peace.
Relaxed atmosphere. I had their hot honey chicken on ciabatta and a low acidity Black Mountain organic brewed coffee to balance it out. Both were delicious! My friend had an egg and cheese croissant and a flavored coffee that she was was “great!” Would definitely return. Fantastic location

The five stars are exclusively for the staff only. They're highly skilled at what they do and I always appreciate everyone there. However, they are ALWAYS exhausted. I see this as an upper management issue and as much as the baristas deserve all the money, I will not support a business that isn't properly caring about the health and well being of their employees. These are wonderful people who deserve the best and they are clearly not getting the support they need. To upper management: tighten up and do better. Working with the public is hard enough as it is. And do NOT chew anyone out for being an imperfect/tired human being. Do right by them, because that's what they do for every guest that walks through that damn door. Thank you.

I am an regular customer at 21a-n.front pcjava. Along with coffee, I enjoy the friendly staff. I am disappointed that Lillian has been transferred. Part of what makes a place attractive to me is that I'm recognized and feel welcome. Like "Cheers". It's not just transactional, it's real human interaction. It's personal. I also hope the newspaper rack returns. When I sit down, I enjoy reading the Wilmington Business Journal, or Wilma magazine. Hope these will continue to be available. It's just a touch that shows human concern for customer comfort. Part of what I likeable this location is it's casual atmosphere. Feeling welcome is important to me. This is fast disappearing in our corporate economy.

Circa 1922 is a renowned restaurant located in the heart of Wilmington's historic downtown, set in a beautifully refurbished bank. The menu offers a diverse selection of delectable dishes from both land and sea, including tapas, sushi, and charcuterie. The restaurant is celebrated for its skilled culinary team and modish setting, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
We had an excellent time at Circa. We have lived in the Greater Wilmington area for 3 years now and this is our first visit. We will definitely be back. All of the food was extremely well done. They were accommodating for our children and were very quick with our orders for how busy they were. The place itself has a fantastic aesthetic. The piano player arrived about halfway through the meal and added an amazing feel to the atmosphere.

We had a great experience for dinner here and great service from our server Gage. I highly recommend the Mushroom Bruschetta. Delicious cheesy bruschetta topped with roasted mushrooms. Great appetizer. I got the Halibut for dinner and enjoyed it tremendously. The halibut was perfectly cooked and the sauce for the dish is simply delicious.
Raymond V — Google review
I want to preface this by saying we had an unfortunate start to our meal. There was seemingly an issue between the staff and another table, and it took a long while to be greeted and taken care of. Not to the fault of our waitress and the other staff, but we did start off on the wrong foot. However, it was made right by the staff with some different items to try, and a free round of drinks so thankful to the experience to end on a much more positive note. Our waitress Dana, and the Service Manager Jenna were wonderful. After a bit of a rough start, we got started with drinks and their pre fix menu. Like other good restaurants in town, a pairing of signature cocktails to go along with the food is welcome. I thought the drinks were a good accompaniment - I would definitely go back for the “Honey I’m Home”, a good old fashioned type drink with warm ginger. The salads that come with the pre fix are HUGE, so be careful not to fill up on that before your meal. Both the Cesar and the Mixed Lettuces were quite good, and a nice start to the meal. The salmon was perfectly cooked with an incredible crust, and because of the seasonal menu we were treated to a gratin that had some variety of potato’s, carrots, onions with a mustard base sauce that rounded out the dish well. The butternut squash ravioli was a little of a gamble, not that I feared that it would be bad - more I was cautious since it seemed much different than the other menu items. I was very happy to get this item though because the brown butter sauce was incredible. The squash purée was soft, and the ravioli had perfect bite to it. Served with pieces of fried herbs gave the dish nice pops of crunch. A nicely well rounded dish. Lastly, we ended with the Lavender Honey Pot De Crème, and the Blood Orange sorbet. While the sorbet was good (it’s sorbet how could it not?), the star for me was the Pot De Crème which, think of the Crème without the Brûlée, but infused with just enough lavender to be floral, and a nice sweetness from the honey. I am a sucker for custard, and this one was great. A great experience in the end, and I look forward to sharing another meal with them in the future. Thanks to the wait staff for making everything right, and thanks to the chefs for delicious food.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, so I decided to celebrate my birthday here. My husband and I selected from the Prix Fixe menu. We both ordered the Caesar salad. I ordered the pork Milanese and he ordered the Bolognese. The salads were huge! We could have easily shared one. It was delicious. My pork Milanese was outstanding! It was a large cut, nicely breaded (not thick in breadcrumbs), topped with arugula, tomatoes, parmesan cheese, and a remoulade. It was one of the best Milanese I've ever had. The Bolognese is always a hit and favorite too. For dessert, we had the mini crème Brule and mini peanut butter mousse. Codi provided very nice service. Cocktails are pricey. We were waiting at the bar for our table, as we got there a little early. The bartender said they ranged $16 to $18 (prices not posted on the menu). That's a little high, so I waited to order a glass of sparkling wine at dinner. The place was pretty full. I love the atmosphere of the place.

Wonderful service from the time we arrived. Our server explained the menu well including rotating options. He brought an extra bread appetizer for our 6 year old son who clearly loved the bread. We ordered the eggrolls and tuna tataki appetizers, scallops and filet mignon entrees, and a key lime cocktail. All food was excellent! Also, really enjoyed the pianist. Will be back 😊

Went here for date night with hubby. Everything we had was delicious. We had their grilled octopus, tuna poking, paella and split a carrot cake at the end. Highly recommend!

Elegant fine dining in the heart of downtown Wilmington. Food is sensational, particularly the Octopus and the Bolognese. Although advertised as a tapas place, there are a number of full sized entrees, as well. Great bartenders and excellent service. Highly recommend.

Southern restaurant (US)
The George on the Riverwalk is an upscale dining destination offering coastal seafood and American cuisine, with the added convenience of boat docking. Nestled in downtown Wilmington, this restaurant provides a picturesque view of the Cape Fear River and the Battleship North Carolina. The historic building exudes charm, while the attentive staff ensures a delightful dining experience. Guests can savor dishes like their unique oysters Rockefeller with chorizo and garlic aioli, all while enjoying southern hospitality and scenic river views.
This was our first time dining at River 128 Restaurant. We chose an outdoor table. Great views of the river. We had a Garlic Shrimp appetizer, Blackened Catfish, and Australian Rack of Lamb with a side of Truffle Mac N Cheese. Food was excellent, our server Ivori was attentive. They were out of Oysters and Duck, so we'll be back to try those dishes and their Ravioli.

Wonderful brunch!! Eggs and bacon are easy to get right, but potatoes require skill and they nailed it! French toast was also delish! Right on the river nice views of the water taxi and birds - we spotted a bald eagle!

Great experience out on the patio on a pretty day. Great server too (I think his name was Michael?) Tried the crab cake. Didn't care for it as much as the reviews say. Wish I had gone a different way. Then for the meal I went with the fish tacos per recommendation from the server. They were good. The best was the cucumber spritz. So delish! Topped it off with some chocolate cake which was very good as well!

If I were summarizing: River 128 is a terrific choice for a special outing — perhaps a date night, anniversary, or sunset dinner — thanks to its location, upgraded ambiance, and strong seafood/steak menu. That said, it may not yet always hit “perfect” on every dish, so if you’re a foodie seeking ultra-fine‐dining precision, it might fall just short in some cases. For the best experience, I’d recommend: • Booking ahead, especially for patio/river-view seating. • Going for the signature seafood or steak dishes rather than more standard fare. The ravioli is to die for 10/10 and If you like frozen cocktails 10/10

Luxury meets coastal! After a few hours at the houseboat we decided to become famous for a few minutes and head over to the River… I wonder why 128 is in the name? Visit so you can find out…eat first!

We just had some simple dishes, a Caesar salad and some chicken wings for a light snack and they were tremendous. The views and atmosphere are also great and the service was perfect. Something as simple as just bringing constant drink refills and being very attentive for sure deserves a great rating!

Can’t beat the location or view. This is a beautiful restaurant. The food was adequate (not encore worthy). I do feel it’s a little overpriced for what you get. My husband ordered a steak medium, it came out within a few minutes (quick) and he knew the steak would be undercooked (very rare) I got the lobster ravioli which tasted good, but only got about 5 ravioli. For nearly $40, that is overpriced. We want to come back to watch the sunset but we’ll stick to apps or some of the not as expensive entrees. The tuna sashimi app was on point. I do say it’s worth the visit to really appreciate the wilmingtons river walk and beautiful scenery downtown.

Out of town New Yorker who made reservations for best good friend's 40th birthday. Opted for outdoor seating which worked out perfect with our 7pm reservation (sunset over the battleship background was gorgeous and the weather was mild.) Couldn't have picked a better place for our celebration. Service was spot on (wish I could remember our waitresses' name to shout her out but we talked about white bean chicken chili and you recommended the duck to the birthday boy who LOVED it so if she sees this please tag yourself or tell your manager.) Apps were fresh and tasty (tuna sashimi stole the show here, but the crab lobster dip held it's own. Fried calamari were fine, side sauce (aioli?) had a nice flavor. I had the lobster raviolis topped with shrimp and was not disappointed one bit (this coming from someone who usually does not choose a pasta dish.) The delicious duck was devoured with delight by the guest of honor (accompanied by house made fried rice which was a pleasant surprise), ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the Black bass and the blackened catfish both were fresh and seasoned to perfection. Creme brulee was the dessert choice of the table and was the perfect end destination for this culinary adventure. Tons of options in the area but grateful to have picked River 128. 5/5 would recommend for anyone in the area looking for an overall enjoyable dining experience.

French restaurant
Lounge
Caprice Bistro, located on Market Street, has been serving traditional French cuisine since 2001. This cozy bistro has earned a reputation as one of the top romantic restaurants in the country. The ambiance is refined and elegant, with a cozy yellow space and a pressed-tin ceiling. Diners can enjoy French delights such as mussels, crepes, parmesan-dusted calamari, and escargot with Roquefort cream.
Super cute and quaint bistro. The service was excellent. Beautiful location. I do have to say the special mushroom and leek Mac and cheese was amazing. Easily one of the best macs Ive ever had and I dont even like mushrooms!!!

Tried this restaurant a week ago for dinner. They helped us with a table quickly and got us in without a reservation. The service was chaotic, I had to ask for the waiter many times, ordered a beer that never showed up until I persisted and then wrong food showed up which had to be corrected so my wife ended up finishing her meal while I wait for my food; this could be a honest mistake, however, overall I was not pleased with the service. The food tasted good and comes hot to your table so it’s not sitting there. I wouldn’t mind going back and trying the profiteroles with the ice cream as that’s what we wanted 😃

4.5 ⭐️ Ate here to celebrate our anniversary. Set upstairs and it’s a lovely atmosphere. Had the featured fish, mahi mahi which was potato encrusted with a buerre blanc sauce on bed of rice and veggies. Started with arugula salad (featured). Salad was huge! Fish was fab! Also had the rabbit sausage app. All wa yummy and would definitely go again and recommend!!

Nicholas was amazing to us ! We had a group of 4 visiting from Georgia and he gave us great recommendations, happy hour was amazing we got about 3 orders of the 7$ mussels and the steak and frites and everything was so perfectly cooked ! We ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert and it was spectacular. The cocktails that Nicholas made were amazing will deff be coming here again thank you !

We had a memorable anniversary dinner here. Over the years, their quality has been consistently EXCELLENT! Thoroughly enjoyed their Cou rouge salad, mussels marinières and steak frites!! Wonderful cocktails and wines too! Little bit noisy - even on Thursday evening - because they are so popular and so good!!

Love this restaurant! They have a great bar upstairs and they make the most delicious cocktails! The food is equally great, although we didn't eat on our last vist, just went in for drinks. If you happen to visit Wilmington NC this restaurant is top notch in the downtown/Cape Fear river area. Don't hesitate to try this great restaurant.

Caprice was my intro to food in downtown Wilmington and did not disappoint. We had the fish special of the day which was really good and the Waterzooi which I can absolutely see why its the house speciality. The cook on all the fish is great, the stew is so yummy. I like a chowder so I expected to enjoy it but it exceeded my expectations. I also love a good crème brûlée and this was that. It was so smooth and the flavor was perfect. Would definitely stop by again! Only thing I'd change, is I'd get a 6pm reservation and stop by the bar for bar bites first. Also definitely recommend coming on Thursday for the cocktail specials.

We had dinner at Caprice Bistro in downtown Wilmington and really enjoyed the overall experience. We ordered the Carolina Mountain Trout, Mussels du Jour, Waterzooi, and the Pork Chop Forestier. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented, but I was a bit disappointed that the wild mushroom sauce on the pork chop came in such a small portion, it left me wanting more! For dessert, we finished with macarons and crème brûlée, both of which were excellent. The only downside was that the service was on the slower side, which took away from the experience. Overall, great food and cozy atmosphere. I just wish the service was a bit quicker and the sauce portion more generous!

Day 2

East side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the east side side of town. Start the day off with Independence Mall, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Indochine Restaurant. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Shopping mall
Independence Mall, located in Wilmington, is a vibrant shopping destination that offers a mix of well-known department stores like JC Penney and Dillard's alongside smaller shops featuring clothing, accessories, electronics, and more. This expansive mall provides an ideal setting for couples looking to enjoy a fun day out together. While the mall has its share of traditional retail options, it also boasts entertainment features such as an arcade and a movie theater for those seeking leisure activities.
Independence Mall makes me feel nostalgic at my age! I always loved the mall as a teen. There aren’t as much of them now. We visited while vacationing at Carolina Beach. Had a good selection of stores and things for the kiddos to do like a train ride plus a food court like the 80s!

While in the area this past weekend I went with my wife to Independence Mall. I’m not a big shopper so I usually find a relaxing spot to sit and allow my wife to have plenty of time to enjoy moving from store to store shopping at her own pace without worrying about me getting tired or impatient. I found the mall to be quite nice and loaded with the businesses that she normally would shop at. The food court had several nice options. Being a senior citizen walking long distances can be a challenge but I was able to find places to sit and enjoy the experience without getting too exhausted. Clean bathrooms were found throughout the mall and overall I enjoyed the visit. Although it wasn’t around a holiday we found plenty of parking and my wife enjoyed the shopping options at this mall as compared to other places closer to home.

We actually had a destination in mind when we pulled into the lot at Independence Mall, which felt like a small victory. Mrs. K. was on a mission for a few things from Bath & Body Works, and after navigating the lumpy terrain of a Wilmington cemetery earlier, she was ready for some smooth, level walking. Having a purpose gave the visit a bit more shape, and that was welcome. Independence Mall has been around since 1979, opening in the heyday of American mall culture with Belk-Beery, JCPenney, and Sears as its original anchors. A fourth wing came along in 2001 to make room for Dillard's, and the place has seen a fair bit of redesign since then. These days, it leans more open and airy, with nods to Wilmington's coastal vibe. We weren't in a hurry, so we mostly wandered just taking it in. We ducked into a couple of shops, browsed a bit, and yes, came away with the Bath & Body Works haul we'd hoped for. All in all, a relaxed and satisfying stop.

The Gold Standard: A Comprehensive Destination for Value 🛍️ This mall isn't just a collection of stores; it's a comprehensive destination and a truly essential asset for the community. The overall experience here is pristine, offering a superior variety of retail, dining, and service options under one roof. The layout is efficient and easy to navigate, which provides real peace of mind and saves valuable time, making it a powerful alternative to the often tedious task of online shopping. The ability to easily compare prices, physically inspect goods, and handle immediate exchanges is what makes this mall a continuous 5-star standard for clear value. It's a place where you can efficiently execute your errands and shopping goals in a single, reliable trip. Whether you're looking for quick essentials or a productive day of focused shopping, the convenience and wide range of quality tenants make this location highly recommended. If you're looking for solutions in life, check out #CrackedCanvasCommunity and #EPIC #EscapingPovertyIsCool. because you are EPIC. A lot of stores have closed, the arcade is gone, the food court is smaller. However, even though it was Sunday evening and many shops were closed, we did have fun time. The mall is clean and so are the bathrooms. The security is very visible, which these days is a really good thing. The kids all took a ride on the train and had a pretty good time.

Park
Long Leaf Park, formerly known as Hugh MacRae Park, is a lush urban oasis in New Hanover County. Spanning 115 acres, the park offers a variety of amenities such as lighted baseball fields, tennis courts, picnic shelters, and a 1.5-mile trail. It's an ideal location for engagement portraits with vibrant azalea gardens, tranquil ponds, and towering trees providing diverse settings for photography.
Long Leaf Park offers a variety of things. Though its serene nature and tall trees are in my opinion the focal point, it has a lot of other great qualities. This place has a beautiful place to hang out around a pond, pull up bars/workout area, a full on parkour-ish course, a large playground, two baseball diamonds, a basketball court, a dog park, and a splash pad area for kids. Lastly, there is of course, a beautiful winding walking/jogging trail surrounding the entire place. I really enjoy going here, and even though people are always here, it doesn't feel crowded. Stop by, especially if you're visiting the area.

This park is absolutely amazing! Stunning pine trees are known for air purifying properties. Although I don’t have little kids I loved the playground they have built. Also a “playground” for big kids/adults. A very nice playground for dogs. There is a little pond with koi fish and turtles. I even spotted a Muscovy duck, which is native to Central/ South America, but domesticated in North America. I still can’t wrap my mind around it- what this exotic duck doing here? Alone in the park.
Anika N — Google review
This park is delightful. We visited while on vacation. We found it serendipitously. There are sidewalks but you can walk anywhere across the expansive areas. There is plenty of room for people to relax, read and rest. The dog park was well laid out with separate fenced areas for large and small dogs. There are lots of trees including the amazing loblolly pines with lots of pine cones. I collected cones for a wreath. This is a great place for birding. We saw at least 10 species in only about 20 minutes.

Live music venue
Greenfield Lake Amphitheater is an open-air venue located in Greenfield Park, offering a capacity of 1,200 people for various events such as concerts, plays, and festivals throughout the year. Visitors praise the intimate and picturesque setting surrounded by nature. The amphitheater provides clear views of the stage from every seat and offers food, drinks, and cocktails for purchase. While some mention restrictions on outside food and drinks, others appreciate the free parking and friendly vendors.
This is such a cute spot, right on the water. I expected lawn seating, but they have rows of chairs, and two landings on the side to stand/dance while enjoying your show. it's small, almost intimate. Bathroom overflowing with bugs, but most had already gone to glory - it was just uncomfortable using the restroom with them around. I'm not really the outdoorsy type so it bothered me just a tad. Beyond that, the bathroom was clean.

Beautiful Amphitheater, lovely trees surrounding it with moss. Trombone Shorty is a favorite forever! I love love love him. Parking was free, tickets were not too expensive, like $54 each or so. Drinks were very expensive. Bathrooms were clean! 4 stars because I do feel like it was over crowded. There were people all at the front, standing by the stage, all the seats were full (not much space between seats). It says on the website that blankets are $25. We brought a blanket, but didn't need a blanket...that's only if you are late-ish and don't get a chair spot.

One of our favorite NC amphitheaters!! Music under the stars, canopied by pines draped with Spanish moss, lightening bugs seemed like paid actors......adding aesthetic to a beautiful night of live music and community! Great, great venue!!!! Easy to get in and out of. Reasonably priced food and drink, compared to other much larger venues across the state. Five stars and two thumbs up! Our only critique was the overall lighting inside the venue. During intermission, the lights didn't come on and was difficult to see. At the end of the show, everyone had to funnel out of the venue at one narrow gate, looping around a building and down a narrow passage at the bathrooms.... with little light to see.

One of the most beautiful parks I visited in the area. The turtles were adorable, but it was sad that they were waiting to be fed. Wildlife should not be fed & I wish more people respected that. Apparently people feed the alligators as well, but we didn't see any the day we were there. The views here are gorgeous & the walking path is perfect for any kind of stroll you're after. There's a nice playground area & restrooms which are clean. The fishing seems to be plentiful because I saw lots of people fishing.

Beautiful, peaceful place for walking, cycling, paddle boating, picnics & a nice playground for the children. There is NO swimming allowed as the lake is home to alligators and poisonous snakes. There are tons of turtles. All best viewed from the many bridges and gazebos sprinkled about the 4 mile path around the lake. Indochine is dedicated to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, quality, nutrition, and presentation of their dishes. This place was recommended by a local for a unique experience with amazing food. We were amazed by the place, gift shop and food! We were lucky to have sat outside and was even covered when it started raining. Great service from Adam and his recommendations. The food was amazing and so was the dessert! It was really busy on the middle of a Saturday, so be prepared to wait when coming here. I will say it was worth it!! Check this place out for amazing Thai and Vietnamese food!! We will be back :)

We drove over five hours to dine here, mainly for the outdoor seating and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the experience started a bit rocky. The hostess who greeted us wasn’t particularly friendly, and after requesting outdoor seating, we ended up waiting nearly an hour—only for the rain to force the patio to close. We were eventually seated indoors in a separate section from the main dining area at a half-booth table that felt cramped for six adults. Also, be aware the restaurant only has one restroom stall per gender, so lines can form. On the positive side, our waiter was outstanding, fast, friendly, and very accommodating. The sweet and sour chicken was excellent, with a sauce that was among the best I’ve ever had. The shrimp and scallops were tasty, though they could have used a bit more sear. We sampled a few desserts, and every one of them was fantastic. Overall, the food not only looked great but also delivered on flavor.

This place was very special and one of the most unique restaurants I've eaten at. To start, the menu and food were most Asian inspired and had special spices and herbs in clouded with it. The taste of the food and the way it was presented were delicious, specially made, and the decorations were very pretty and classy. The service was very constant, nice attitude, and provided everything needed throughout the meal. Had a smile on her face and she was nice to talk with and explained the menu items and sized portions very well. The atmosphere was very pleasant, special, and not loud. The most unique was the Asian decorations I side a d the absolutely beautiful garden outside and the setup. It was like an Asian city on the outside and had outside huts you could sit and eat at. It was beautiful to observe. Even the bathrooms were art gems with scenic visuals of towns illustrated, and were clean. If you like Asian Thai food a d exotic sceneries, this is the place you should try out.

This Indochine Restaurant off Wayne Drive in Wilmington has a great atmosphere and the food is absolutely fabulous. On this particular evening, our table for 8 was in the outside garden near the koi pond. A very enjoyable stroll to our table. Our party ordered several appetizers, but I didn't get my camera out fast enough before everyone started digging in. I was able to get a decent picture of our appetizer sampler, but please be aware some of the appetizers were gone before I could get the picture. My entree was the Hokkien Hot Noodles. This was a very good choice on my part, but everyone's entree at our table looked delicious. They do the call ahead thing and they get busy, but if you want a very unique dining experience with fabulous food, you really should give Indochine Restaurant a try.

I write honest reviews. My husband had seen something about the huts and the experience of eating within the Asian garden with statues, etc. As a Top Google Guide I had offers from other restaurants in Wilmington but I didn’t want to let my husband down because he really wanted to try this place. After 5 hours in a car—I was starving & exhausted. We met Chris & he found us seating in a hut outside; it was kind of neat at first, and all seemed okay until the flies found our food. As a scientist, flies freak me out! So that oscillating fan they had running above us made little difference. They were landing on everything. I spent the entire time swinging my hands trying to swipe them away. Ugh! I ate as quickly as possible. My husband and son both gave their opinion that the food was just okay. The thing is, we go out a lot, we sample from all kinds of chefs, we love spices and flavors but natural and often grass-fed & even organic or farm to table. Also our son’s jasmine tea was cold. We didn’t bother saying anything to the waitress. We just nodded that everything was good because we’re polite. Overall, I’m glad we tried this place at least once. Mainly because I loved the Asian garden theme. It’s too bad we didn’t meet the general manager. I’ve never been to a place as a Google contributor and not had management come and introduce themselves. I was also disappointed in some of the employees who just didn’t seem nice. No excuse me when they walked by, no greetings. Nothing. People did improve their attitude once they found out I was writing a review. I think with tip we dropped around $100–and weren’t really impressed. Sort of a waste for us as foodies, we expect more. Candidly, Josephine Local Guide

Very popular restaurant! There was a long line waiting to eat when they opened, so I knew the food must be good. They did not disappoint! This yellow curry had amazing flavor. Really cool decorations and outdoor seating in the garden. A little gift shop with some cool stuff, too.

This place is so beautiful!! Immediately walking in, I felt transported to some gentrified southeast Asian amalgamation— and I actually love it. The outdoors seating is immaculate and I was surprised how cool it was despite the warm temperature. The bathroom is so eclectic and quirky. You can really tell that a lot of thought was put into designing this restaurant. The service is amazing, but the food is a little subpar. I was hoping for more flavor in my pho, but the Yum Yum Chicken was superb.

Pizza restaurant
Benny's Big Time Pizzeria is a charming Italian restaurant located in the South Front District near historic downtown Wilmington. The airy, rustic-chic dining space offers a Southern coastal twist on Italian cuisine, with dishes made from fresh seafood and local ingredients.
Benny’s is INCREDIBLE! Fresh and house made ingredients, carefully curated details, amazing service and ambience….and the gluten-free pizza is killer!! I’ve searched high and low for a decent gluten-free pizza crust, and Benny’s Detroit style outdoes them all by FAR. It’s just the best ever. We finished dinner with the flourless chocolate cake (torta caprese)! Benny’s is a must try- we were so impressed!!

I called ahead because I was going to try to take my special needs 10 year old daughter (struggles with waiting), the man who answered the phone was super nice and asked when we could get there, they held a table for over 20 minutes to accommodate us. With my daughter's gluten free dietary restriction we found the Detroit style gluten free pizza here a while back, we wanted to make the trip again. It was as amazing as the first trip, and worth every penny. The staff was so sweet to my little girl, we made a huge mess and even ate at the adjacent table, but they were very understanding and sweet. When it's time for a good GF pizza, we will ALWAYS come back here. Great job all around, and thank you for accommodating us. Hostess, server, manager, everyone in the back, amazing job. Best gluten free pizza in all of Wilmington, easily.

Great place for some of the best Pizza in the area. True story fish and chips on Friday are the best hidden meal in the area. Salads are🤌

Benny’s Big Time Pizzeria has been on my list for a while so I was excited to give this place a try. Since this was my first time ordering I’m going to be a bit lenient just in case they just had an off day, but this review is also brutally honest! I ordered the Tony Pepperoni w/Calabrian Chili Pepper and asked for it to be extra crispy. The bottom of the pizza didn’t seem extra crispy, and when you picked up the slice you can tell that it wasn’t indeed extra crispy. The sauce and toppings had good flavor. I’m a huge pizza lover, and a good pizza always starts with the crust & sauce, and the “NOT” crispy crust is the main reason why I’m giving this place a solid 3 ⭐️ out of 5 ⭐️ rating. It definitely wasn’t worth the $26 I paid for a 14” pizza. I’ve tried 4 other pizzerias, this being the 5th, around the ILM/Wilmington area and this place would be tied with 4th & 5th place out of all of those other restaurants. Service seemed to be fast & friendly, which was a definite plus! I don’t want to be too harsh, but maybe I caught this place on a down day.

As someone who frequently orders Bennys Togo, my portion of Brussel sprouts this evening was unacceptable for the price. Anytime I have previously ordered Brussels the entire to go box is full. If you order in person the portion is double if not triple. The quality is inconsistent for how expensive the price is. My pizza was great but this portion of Brussel sprouts is offensive.
Madisyn M — Google review
I ordered a pineapple pizza, and I must say it turned out to be the worst food experience of my life; it was so unpleasant that I genuinely began to question whether the chef had ever actually tasted this creation before deciding it was suitable to sell, and that thought alone made the experience even more frustrating. After forcing myself to take only one slice, I could not bear to continue and ended up leaving the rest behind; it was the first time in my life that I found myself cursing out loud while eating, which tells you just how unbearable it was. This is truly the kind of dish that requires the chef to sit down, taste it carefully, and reflect deeply on whether such a recipe should ever reach customers; it left me thinking that no one who values flavor could possibly stand by it. Normally I do not bother to leave reviews because I consider them tedious and time-consuming; however, this was such a nightmarish meal that I felt compelled to share my experience here, as it was too shocking and disappointing to remain silent.

Second best pizza I’ve ever had. 1st was in Sally’s in Stamford, Connecticut. Best pizza I’ve had in NC. The menu reminded me of menus in Connecticut.

Benny's Big Time paid off for sure. Dined on a crowded Friday night with 8pm reservations. Seems like a celebration-type restaurant, with lots of large groups. Downside is the volume was really loud and hard to have a conversation. Chicken parm bites and salad to start. Dee-lish. All the pizza look amazing and we ordered two to share, along with the rigatoni. Everything was delicious and the service was top notch. It's a must visit place and we'll be back for sure.

Fast food restaurant
Chick-fil-A is a popular fast-food chain known for its delicious chicken sandwiches, nuggets, salads, and sides. Customers often praise the courteous and patient staff members who provide excellent service. The food is described as hot, high-quality, and delicious. Many visitors have had positive dining experiences at various Chick-fil-A locations, with some highlighting the joy of watching loved ones savor their meals.
I have a big family but they were ready to serve. Excellent customer service to the lady who was our cashier this day. I made the comment that she reminded me of Candace Owens. She was very kind and professional and handled our big order with such a beautiful smile and attitude. The salad was really good. This was my first time getting a salad from chick fil a.

I was served by Walleem I believe was his name and he was very rude. I’m sure its just cause they were closing soonish or busy but it was upsetting how he spoke to me and aggressively tapped the screen and didn’t get my order right even after asking twice. I can understand being stressed because they were a bit busy but He didn’t have to be rude.

Awful experiences at this Chick-fil-A. It is the busiest but there is a young blonde worker who has been yelling extremely rudely. I have grace for people who work in customer service but there was no excuse for her behavior. I understand being busy but awful customer service from that young lady. This does not apply to all the workers. I expected better from a Chick-fil-A. Also, I’ve never left a bad review anywhere until now.

I don’t leave bad reviews places and never have, but I will go ahead and say to save yourself the time and effort and go to legitimately any Chick-fil-A in wilmington except this one. I have had a sit down meal, been waited on, had the food come out, gotten refills, And left in a fast amount of time than this place runs. It wasn’t even busy when I went, but the food was cold, took 30 minutes to get and never could get a refill since all employees were ignoring their lines and working on app orders for take out only. Please save yourself the hassle and go to the south college or market street location.

Had a great experience in the drive thru on 10/17. I had a mobile order and had something that needed adjustment. Noel helped me and even went inside to make sure the change went into place. Communication at this location amongst the staff is always good in my opinion especially when you are in the drive thru and like me forget the sauces or need extra drinks and fries lol. Thanks Noel!! (hope I spelled that right) Have a blessed one!

Had this amazing girl name Kristen or Kirsten that took my order at 2:25pm on October 20th and was the nicest, most sweetest, kind women!! It did not take long to get my food at all!!! Took 30 seconds maybe durning a busy hour, she was amazing!!
James R — Google review
Worst chic fil a I've ever been to. They forget an item or make it incorrectly almost every time I order from this location. Have to report missing item on the app or drive back for missing item. Rude customer service, holds their finger up repeatedly as in "wait one minute." Items get replaced or credited but no apologies, no care from the staff. On a corporate note: sizes of milkshakes and frozen lemonades have gotten smaller which is already ridiculous enough but now you removed bacon from the deluxe chicken sandwiches. Thats just wrong! You do not take away a person's bacon!
J — Google review
The worst parking experience to pickup food by using the app. There's no designated place for pickup. Not to feel awkward when a "homeless" guy was knocking on our car window asking for money? He might have been harmless but you should never put your window down to anybody!!

Indian restaurant
Tandoori Bites is a delightful haven for Indian cuisine enthusiasts, nestled conveniently along College Road near the UNCW campus. This inviting restaurant boasts a warm, curry-colored ambiance that sets the stage for both casual meals and special celebrations alike. With an extensive menu crafted by skilled chefs, Tandoori Bites promises to transport your taste buds straight to India with every bite. Whether you're gathering with friends or enjoying a romantic dinner, this spot offers an experience that's both memorable and satisfying.
Third visit, and all three experiences were top-notch! Not sure why this place isn't packed all the time. They consistently serve really good food at fair prices, and get this...with great service as well! Scroll through my other reviews and you will see that I do not doll out high praise without cause! Dishes are full of spices and flavor, something for everyone, and you select the spice heat level.

I’ll start by mentioning I’ve traveled from one end of India to the other, had lots of Indian food both rural and urban. This place is outstanding, the Chili Shrimp was so delicious, the kabob was great, everything I had was really good. The staff was very attentive, food was prepared in a timely manner, came out hot, just a great experience. I did notice a lot of folks eating there were Indian, when I walked in, figured it was legit. Even had some Kingfisher beer, complimented everything perfectly.
Justgot O — Google review
The interior of the restaurant looks very classy: Tablecloths, silverware, glassware. Service was excellent and the staff very attentive. If you never had Indian food, you might be a bit overwhelmed by the menu. Don’t hesitate to ask the staff for recommendations. We ordered the trio kabob, lamb palak(mild), lamb curry(medium) and bread basket. The lamb was very tender and the spice level was milder than we anticipated. Kabobs were good but a bit dry to our liking. The naan was fresh and hot. We couldn’t get enough of it. If ever we are in the mood for Indian, this will be our go to.

We came here for a date night, and overall, the experience was good. The service was friendly, though we did feel a bit rushed despite the restaurant not being very busy at the time we arrived. My wife ordered the butter chicken with basmati rice. She enjoyed it, but noted that the flavor was a bit different from other butter chicken she’s had before—it tasted more tomato-based than she’s used to. Of course, we’re not from that culture, so we can’t say exactly how it should taste, but it was still flavorful. I had the lamb Rogan, which is lamb tossed in a spicy yogurt sauce with basmati rice. This dish was excellent—the lamb was tender, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. We also shared the lamb samosas, which came with mint chutney. The chutney was decent, but the lamb filling was a bit dry. On the plus side, they brought out complimentary poori, which was a nice touch. The restaurant itself is cute, and the food definitely has flavor. It was an enjoyable night out and worth a try.

Literally my go to for Indian food in Wilmington. I’ve loved eating here before their remodel but after it’s so much more inviting and all the staff is so nice and respectful. I always get the same things and recommend paneer tiki masala, garlic naan, chai tea and the papad is literally my favorite I could eat my weight in it. I didn’t really like Indian or eating different things before. So this place will always have a special place in my heart for making me love to try new foods. Thank you tandoori bites ❤️❤️❤️

Been coming here for years and it's everything is so delicious and flavorful🤤! Only thing that needs improvement is their naan does not taste as good anymore, it's too thick. They have a great lunch special deal for like $15 and you get a ton of different dishes, even a dessert!

I love this place so much. I’ve been here a bunch of times and every single time the food and the people are amazing. Seriously, every employee is just the nicest and it honestly makes the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. The food is unreal. I wish my stomach was bigger so I could eat everything on the menu in one sitting. I’ve tried most of the entrées and have never once been disappointed. I noticed they redecorated recently and I didn’t even think it could get better here, but it did. The vibe is so cozy and their music is super relaxing. Also, their Indian beer is SO good. Perfect with the food. This is hands down one of my favorite spots in Wilmington. Great food, great people, great vibes. I can’t recommend it enough.

Excellent Indian cuisine. Lunch specials run Monday through Friday featuring Thali where one gets to experience sweet, salty, sour, astringent and butter all on a single plate. It also comes with basmati rice and naan. It's a treat for sure. Service was attentive and food came out fast.

Seafood restaurant
Rx Chicken and Oysters is a laid-back restaurant located in a renovated drugstore, offering a menu that changes with the seasons and emphasizes local ingredients. The eatery is known for its Hickory Smoked Chicken Wings and Buffalo-style Pig Ears, but also features an array of dishes showcasing produce from nearby farms and fresh catches from local fishmongers.
After a dud of a seafood meal the previous night, we were looking for a redemption meal. We found it at Rx Chicken & Oysters! The food is sustainable, locally sourced, and outstanding! Many places tout the “sea to table,” but few actually give you food that truly tastes like It. Rx wrote the book on it! We had the spiny lobster tail hush puppies, skillet corn bread, grouper with spiny lobster tail rice and heirloom tomato reduction, grunt with grits, seasonal vegetables and citrus and herb butter, brownie with soft serve, and blueberry cobbler. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly! The fish had amazing flavor and the crust was just right. The tomato reduction had incredible flavor! The grits were delicious - a tasty nod to southern culture and paired with the fish nicely. Start to finish, the food was amazing and well worth the drive! If you’re looking for truly fresh, local seafood, visit Rx!

Small restaurant on Castle Street. Street parking only here. Met a friend group here, and the restaurant is neat, lots of artwork on the walls. The service was excellent and the staff was really nice. We had three items off the menu. The biscuits, pimento cheese, and ham "snack" was excellent. The pork chops with sweet potatoes was good but the mac & cheese was... odd. Had a very odd flavor, maybe earthy? Idk if they put like truffle or something in it... very strange. We had the strawberry cobbler and while it was ok, it also wasn't great. So for the cost, we didn't find the food to be bad by any means, but it wasn't exceptional either. Overall, the restaurant was clean and we enjoyed the meal and we would probably try it again at some point.

Hiddem gem in Wilmington! As a pharmacist, I was initially intrigued since this restaurant used to be a pharmacy (although the decor & inside is not pharmacy themed) but we decided to try it based on the food options. Our waitress was friendly & knowledgeable. We aren't big seafood eaters so she took the time to explain the catch-of-the-day options. We had never heard of lionfish (see pictures for a sculpture of this spiky fish) but my husband decided to try it. And it ended up being his favorite meal of the whole trip! It's a little pricey, but you can taste the quality & freshness of the food. Everything was delicious & well-prepared. Highly recommend trying a dessert served with their soft-serve ice cream. Just a few blocks from downtown, its hidden on a residential street but definitely worth a visit

Hidden gem. We went for Sunday brunch and had a very tasty Bloody Mary and their shrimp and spiny lobster quiche (with Hollandaise sauce). That dish ranks as one of the few best meals we've ever eaten in Wilmington. First time to Rx but glad we found it because it won't be our last. Love the extra space between the tables making it a nice pace for a date. Service was top notch (thx Ellie). And very reasonable cost.

We were on vacation and decided to try this restaurant because our adult son was craving raw oysters. The atmosphere is cool/eclectic and welcoming. If I had 1 complaint it was that it was very loud in there. We were there on a Friday night and the restaurant was packed so I didn't mind at all but if you are going for a quiet dinner, maybe go on a weeknight😁 We had a reservation so we were seated immediately. Our server came to our table promptly to take our drink orders. I ordered the cocktail that was a special that night and it was blueberry simple syrup with elderflower liqueur and proseco. It was delicious and refreshing without being overly strong or sweet. For appetizers we got blue crab dip for my husband and I to share and our adult son got the Lucy Bea oysters. He said they were the best oysters he has ever had, very fresh and clean tasting with the flavor of the sea. They were fantastic. Our dinners were super good with my husband getting the shrimp and grits which was rich and decadent. I got the 1/2 fried chicken which was so crunchy and dark with flavor but moist and juicy on the inside. My sides were mac&cheese and small delicious flaky buttery biscuits. Our son got the chili cheeseburger. All of the food was delicious. I'm sure the fresh caught fish is great but we are not big seafood eaters. Our desserts were fabulous too. My husband and I split the bread pudding which had large crusty/crispy bread chunks which were tender on the inside and had a caramel and whipped cream😋 Our son got the blueberry cobbler with soft serve ice cream. They were both so amazing! I would never hesitate to come and enjoy the food again the next time we are in Wilmington!

This restaurant definitely lived up to our expectations. It was the best meal we had while on vacation in the area. It has an upscale vibe with really friendly service. They know what they're talking about and are attentive. We ordered most of the appetizers on the menu. The mini biscuits were the best. My husband also loved the pig ears and belly. I've had better oysters and shrimp, but the signature hot sauce was a nice touch. We got a bottle to take with us. We enjoyed the chicken, shrimp and grits, and fresh catch (snapper). Overall, this restaurant offered great food and a really good experience. We recommend!

Johnnie Mercers Fishing Pier is a renowned spot in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. It's the only concrete fishing pier in the state and one of the longest in the Cape Fear region, extending over 1,200 feet into the Atlantic Ocean. Originally built in the 1930s, it was reconstructed after being damaged by hurricanes. The pier now offers amenities such as an on-site grill, bait and tackle shop, gift shops, and ample space for fishing enthusiasts.
This was a beautiful sight and I love the sunset view. I loved seeing the rise up and the cool breeze that came along. One of my favorite things about this spot is that the church meet there each morning and pray for each other and those in need. It makes this location even more special. JESUS stands out really nice on shorefront.

We have parked in the adjacent lot every time we come to the beach. It is paid parking but easy to get to and get a spot. I don’t always go into the store/pier but I did this visit. The store had great food options and even non alcoholic beer (which I enjoyed!). I’ll stop in hungry next time as the food prices were very reasonable and looked good. The pier is beautiful and adds nicely to the landscape.

Peaceful, Well-Kept, and Worth the Visit Visited Johnnie Mercer’s Fishing Pier yesterday and had a calm, peaceful experience. Whether you’re there to fish or just walk and take in the ocean views, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. ✅ Small entry fee ✅ Rod rentals and bait on-site ✅ Clean restrooms and snack bar ✅ Open early, stays open late ✅ Relaxed, respectful crowd Plenty of space, great views, and an easygoing vibe. Even when it’s busy, it doesn’t feel crowded. Parking is paid but convenient. If you’re in Wrightsville Beach and want a quiet ocean escape, this pier’s a solid choice.

Cost 2 dollars to gain access to the pier. Great views of the beach, pier supports and the ocean. Watch your step and keep an eye out for casters who do not clear to the rear before they cast. Truely a fishing pier....for fisherpeople. Privately owned pier on a public state beach...? Saw a baracuda chasing fish bait/lures from the front edge of the piee. Blue sky and blue fish equals blue crab and blue water. NOAA.....scientific station on the pier. Nice wood, sturdy pier, wood needs stained, not much to do than fish and absorb wave sounds. Peir tackle shop is good place for snacks, bait, tackle, trinkets and air conditioning. And get your picture taken on the pier.

2 bucks to walk the pier...1 buck for kids. If anyone complains about the cost they are a miserable person who is unhappy with the world. Great place to walk a few hundred feet and watch the beach goers and the fisherman on the pier. I went today and loved it!! I am new to the area and will be back once I buy some gear and tackle!

Airlie Gardens, originally a private garden for the Pembroke Jones family in 1901, is now a 67-acre public attraction featuring formal and informal gardens. The site boasts over 100,000 azaleas, expansive grass lawns, and historic structures alongside modern sculptures. Visitors can explore the nearly 500-year-old Airlie Oak and enjoy picturesque views of the intracoastal waterway along Bradley Creek.
Such a wonderful place to explore and connect with nature. Plenty of shade and park benches to rest at along the way. For those who don’t like walking or need alternative transportation, private tours on golf carts are available if scheduled in advance. Beautifully scenery with a nice cozy gift shop to purchase souvenirs. Umbrellas and water are available for sale in the office.

Airlie Gardens was an incredible experience, and we highly recommend it! The butterfly exhibit was the highlight for us—it was really cool to be surrounded by so many beautiful butterflies. A couple of the people in our party were wearing blue shirts, which apparently attract them, so they kept landing on their backs and shoulders. The walking paths are well-maintained and allowed us to really enjoy all the gardens. We also found the turtles in the pond quite charming and friendly. It was a fantastic experience.

Beautiful gardens at a very reasonable price. Take your time and stroll around taking in the beautiful sights and sounds that this gardens has to offer. The live oaks are truly magnificent with the Spanish moss flowing from their branches. There are very colorful flower groupings that give inspiration for home gardeners. They have many benches to sit and reflect as well tiered step gazebo that leads right down to the water where multiple turtles come to great visitors. The day that we visited, we saw the most beautiful birds fly in near the tiered steps and land on a branch a little ways away. The best we could tell, they looked pink but we had no idea what they were or if our eyes were playing tricks on us in the bright lighting. I took multiple pictures on my cell phone from different angles and zoomed in several times not knowing if I was actually capturing anything. When we got home I was looking through the photos and discovered that they were in fact pink and was able to see their flat wide bill well enough to identify them as Roseate Spoonbill. I have never seen these birds before and was astonished that we had been lucky enough to witness 3 of these beautiful creatures swooping in and landing on a branch! Just beautiful. There are many things to see and discover at Airlie Gardens that it is worth spending several hours walking, picnicking, and discovering the natural beauty of this part of North Carolina, so don't miss it!

Airlie Gardens is hands down one of my favorite places in Wilmington. It’s perfect for a family day, a romantic picnic, a solo stroll, or even a photo shoot—there’s something magical about it in every season, but spring (March–April) is especially breathtaking when everything is in bloom. There are tucked-away spots for quiet moments, statues, stone pillars, water features, a butterfly house, local sculptures, and a cobblestone maze that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale. It’s even a popular wedding venue, and it’s easy to see why. We bought the season membership (about $75 for a family of five), which was well worth it compared to paying per visit. It’s also kid-friendly, has a cute gift shop, clean bathrooms, and plenty of parking. Whether you’re visiting, local, or looking for the perfect spot to propose—don’t skip this place. Airlie is rich with beauty, history, and memories just waiting to be made. ✅ Best in spring ✅ Romantic, kid-friendly, and peaceful ✅ Ideal for photos, picnics, and proposals 🎯 Tip: Grab the season pass if you plan to come more than once

Absolutely beautiful! Live oaks, winding paths along the water, turtles, butterfly house sculptures art work along the walk. They also have a free gulf cart shuttle that makes various stops around the gardens for those not physically able to walk the distances between the various gardens. I take my out of town guests and they love the experience.

We love Airlie Gardens! It’s beautiful, serene, and always well kept, with so much to see and explore. We often bring a blanket for picnics by the water — the kids love running around and discovering new spots. It’s also absolutely magical during Christmas time. We’ve had a membership for a while now and plan to keep it for years to come!

I'm amazed by the natural beauty of magnificent, Grand oaks trees, draped in Spanish moss, on the banks of creeks in the gardens. I was there to Officiate a wedding (and, what a perfect setting for a wedding ceremony!), and I cannot wait to come back and meander the many winding paths with my camera.

It’s very beautiful. It’s got so much to see. The fountain is what I was here for. The whole farden feels very fairytale-like. Considering the hot and humid weather in Wilmington, you’d like to bring more water because the place is quite large. Their is this “mystery grave” from 18th century which adds some special vibe to the garden. Bird lovers will love this place and it’s very easy to get cool photographs. Note that the gate at the exit opens inward, so make sure your car is not too close to the gate upon leaving.

Gardens
The New Hanover County Arboretum, located in Wilmington, North Carolina, is a seven-acre family-friendly destination featuring over 30 different gardens. Visitors can explore seasonal specialty flower gardens, a koi pond with colorful fish, and a kids' play area with a sunny purple and yellow playhouse. The arboretum showcases vibrant local landscapes and includes notable gardens such as the herb garden, rose garden, bog garden, children's garden, aquatic garden, and Japanese garden.
Lovely little "hidden gem". There is a lot packed into this small arboretum. It seems to be a popular spot for families as there were lots of kid voices (NOT a bad thing). Even in winter there was plenty to see, especially all the camellias. Free admission is amazing! Would love to be here for one of the monthly plant sales.

Super cute (& FREE) spot to visit while in Wilmington. Our dog was staying in the hospital across the street and this place gave me a little bit of peace during that stressful time. Many places to just sit and enjoy the views and honestly a lot to see even though it’s not super big. Plenty of parking, we visited mid day on a weekday though so it could be busy weekend days. Overall, it’s a very nice place to visit and it’s well maintained!

Stopped in, visiting from out of state for a wedding and really enjoyed the grounds and architectural foliage designed on campus. It was larger than I expected. Clean, well manicured, sizable array, and free, even with a pumpkin disposal on site they utilize for composting. The Japanese garden was my favorite. They have plants for sale, various artwork on the property, and a sizable parking lot for visitors. Keep up the fantastic work, everyone!
Michael M — Google review
So peaceful and quiet. Lovely place for some meditation or to clear your thoughts. The garden layout is very nice and there are plenty of spots to sit in the shade and enjoy a book or just sit there contemplating nature and if you forgot to bring a book then you can pick one up at one of the free book boxes on the property. The koi fish are gigantic and fun to watch.

It was my first time visiting an Arboretum since I moved back to NC and it was a bit smaller than what I was used to in KY but it was so beautiful as soon as you walk in a big beautiful pond with a ton of fishes that swam right up to the surface. They also have plant sales on Saturdays. The day I visited sadly wasn't a Saturday, I may go back to visit just to get the Mother of Millions succulent.
Deborah D — Google review
Fantastic Arboretum in the Wilmington area of NC. The garden area is small and filled with various areas to explore. There is a butterfly garden that was filled with various butterflies on the day we visited in October. There is also a beautiful Japanese Garden which is pretty impressive for such a small space. The Japanese Garden has a large Koi pond with the very typical red bridge to cross over along with some beautiful plantings. The garden also has many quiet areas to sit and rest as you make your way through the garden area. Some of the areas are shady with art work scattered throughout and other benches are positioned in the sun. Many of the perennials were finished blooming for the summer. The annuals though, were in full bloom and just bright and colorful. Great way to spend a few hours
Jamie W — Google review
It was a pretty garden. Easy to walk around. I appreciate the time and effort the volunteers put in. The dragon and the gnome were cute touches.

1st time here. The place was recommended by volunteers here. It didn't disappoint! Lots to see and kid friendly! They have a beautiful Koi pond and they are huge! The plants and trees are labeled and the statues are amazing! It's worth coming to see it and it's free!!!

Hot dog restaurant
American restaurant
Sam's Hot Dogs of Oleander is a local spot that offers the flavors of a classic hot dog stand found in big cities. The restaurant prides itself on its great customer service, clean environment, and friendly staff. They serve up delicious hot dogs with a variety of toppings and sauces, as well as BBQ and brisket. The prices are reasonable, and they have daily specials to keep things interesting.
Sam’s Hot Dog Stand, whether you hit up the location in Wilmington or on Leander Drive, you’re in for a treat. Their hot dogs are on a whole other level, especially when topped with their signature spicy chili (though the regular chili is great too!). That spicy kick? Total game changer.
SHEA D — Google review
Great prices for delicious dogs! Plenty of sauces and toppings on these dogs which are served super quick, they even have drive thru! Good vibe in the place and plenty of real cute dog pictures on the walls to gaze at while you eat. The prices are super reasonable and daily specials give you something different on every visit! Plus a blackboard to decorate if you feel creative!

This is my new go to for chili slaw dogs. I have been looking for a good one for sometime. Ive been craving one my whole pregnancy. It's been about 9 months and today I finally found it. They also have awesome fries and sweet tea. The lady behind the counter is super sweet. Major plus that they have a drive thru. The dining area is very clean, so are the restrooms. My husband and I will definitely be back soon.

This was our first visit to Sam's Hot Dogs. We found it by searching hot dogs near me. The hot dogs are amazing and the staff is super nice!!! Highly recommend Sam's Hot Dogs!

The best hot dogs in Wilmington with the nicest folks. Always delicious 😋 I always get the big nasty with every topping and I'm kinda addicted.

Some of the best hotdogs I've found! The chili was delicious. My boyfriend, who only favors red dogs, even loved them. Inside was very clean, service was quick and friendly. The price was very reasonable. We will come again next time we're in town!

Hamburger restaurant
P.T.'s Olde Fashioned Grille is a local chain known for its laid-back setting and delicious burgers, sandwiches, and fresh-cut fries. The walk-up counter and reasonable prices make it a popular choice for a quick and satisfying meal. Customers can enjoy options like the tasty burger, hot dog, or black bean burger. The restaurant's protocol may be a bit confusing at first, but the experience of watching the food being cooked with huge flames adds to the charm.
My family and I loved this place!! Burgers were absolutely delicious. Cool atmosphere. Everything was so fresh, made right to order! Josh was so nice and helpful. My daughter wants to come back tomorrow! So good!
Katrina D — Google review
This restaurant is one of my go-to places when I want a quick, easy, and really satisfying Burger/Grilled Chicken Sandwich and fries. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich is actually my favorite menu item. It has a great grilled flavor and is usually cooked perfectly. I get cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo, pickles & onion on it. I get a side of honey mustard and chili to dip my fries in. No, not together with the Honey Mustard and Chili. I dip in them separately. Both are so good it's hard not to have both. The fries are delicious. They season them really well with lemon, pepper, and salt. The Burgers are also good. It seems to me the Burgers are probably frozen patties, but they may not be. I am just assuming based on my taste, but I could be wrong. There are two Burger sizes. Both come with fries and a drink. Their lemonade is delicious. The service is excellent. You order by filling out an ordering ticket that has the menu listed on it. You pay after your meal, so hold onto your ordering slip. There is indoor and outdoor seating. If you eat outdoors, you can order at the window on the side of the building. This is a must-try if you visit or live in the area.
JD_WB _ — Google review
PTs is a routine stop for me for a quick bite. If you are not familiar, just fill out a paper ticket with your order and they will get your drink right then and there. Save your ticket and pay after you eat. Love their service and friendliness. If I'm being honest, it's a good burger but not a great burger. Always cooked well done. The chicken sandwich is the way to go, very moist and juicy. The fries are great as well, sometimes you get a load of ends/nubs, just ask for another batch. They come out and get refills for you and you always feel welcome here. There's a few tables outside that are nice to sit St when the shade hits right. All in, the price is fair, with fries and a drink included.
Ian K — Google review
Service is great and the atmosphere is nice and homey. Only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that all burgers are cooked well-done with no option on the fill in menu for other prep levels (medium rare is the best option).
Michael A — Google review
We perused Red Robin, Five Guys and this place was highly rated on Google Reviews, it’s staff were welcoming just walk up to the counter and like an old country store grab an order book and tick off what you want and how you want it. Their way is simple and yet effective. Non pretentious atmosphere prices include fries and beverage. Give it a go, you too will like it.
Dwayne — Google review
I had the old fashioned burger, it was fantastic. Tasted exactly how a good burger should. Fries were great, well seasoned, and were potato fries. Nothing negative to say about the place. I will be back.
Bigyeehaw — Google review
Go to Sam’s instead. I won’t ever visit this location due to poor customer service. I’m standing there with my order ready, next in line, and was completely ignored. Another customer walks in behind me, the employee with a beanie gives him a fist bump and asks what he can get for him. I’m literally standing right in front of him, no acknowledgement whatsoever. I walked out. No one there cares.

French restaurant
Restaurant
Brasserie Du Soleil, located in Lumina Station on Eastwood Road, offers an authentic French dining experience. The elegant cafe provides a wide range of French delicacies for both lunch and dinner. Guests can savor dishes like steak au poivre, crêpes, saffron-scented mussels, poached pears, seared tuna, and crispy potatoes. The restaurant's airy courtyard is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely European-style lunch.
Fantastic experience. Chef Ryan presented a stellar meal from start to finish. Heather paired our wines with our dishes and it was absolutely perfect. The presentation and delivery of flavors was exactly what me and my wife were looking for on our anniversary. We didn't "go out to eat", we had a culinary dining experience. Thank you to all that were involved in making our night memorable. Especially Chef Ryan and Heather.

I went to there for dinner last night, I had a amazing experience. I spent all day in the ocean, we were tired, so we even didn’t do any research about this restaurant, we just wanted to choose restaurants convenience for us, while the experience was amazing. I had amazing octopus ever, it’s crunchy out and keep the tender inside at the same, that’s great, my usually experience were too crunchy and lost tender, while they did it. I also ordered scallop that’s was great as well, it’s rich texture and tasty. I sat out near by water it’s really privacy, so we can just enjoy chatting and eating. I love it. What’s more, when we tried to take selfie, the nice pretty waiter saw it(sorry I forgot your name, you’re awesome last night thank you ), she offered to take for us, she took couple different pictures I love it, I like her so much, she answered a lot questions for about menus, even she recommended some great options for us, so you can believe the waiter working there, if you don’t know which will good choice for you. Because it’s our three years anniversary, she took the amazing pictures for us as our memories. We came from Seattle, this restaurant is greater than Seattle’s best French restaurant Pink Door too much. I had a amazing adventure last night.

The food, service, and atmosphere was all great! We went for dinner and ate on the outdoor patio. It was gorgeous and felt very upscale with the fountain and string lights. Definitely get a reservation because they seemed pretty busy and I was glad we had a table reserved. We got the airline chicken breast and the boeuf bourguignon and dessert. It was all very tasty, but the boeuf was the best.

Had a great dinner here yesterday — the steak frites were spot on. The steak was cooked with a perfect sear and the fries were crispy and really tasty. Simple dish, done really well. Their caesar salad was also quite good. They have a wide offering of wines that pair well with their dishes too. I didn't get to try the lamb or rabbit dishes that the others in our group got, but those looked great as well. The vibe in the restaurant is relaxed but still has that nice French bistro feel. It's never too crowded, which makes it easy to get a table without a long wait — always a plus. Service was great too. The staff knew their stuff and were super attentive without hovering. Felt well taken care of from start to finish. This is one of my favorite spots in Wilmington!

The patio was a beautiful and peaceful location to enjoy the amazing food. The dishes were exquisite, made with fresh spices and ingredients. Our server Robb anticipated our every need and was there right in time, and funny too. He obviously loves what he does. And save room for dessert, it’s soooo worth it! My compliments to the chef and staff for a superb dining experience!

We went here for drinks and dessert for my wife’s birthday. We were NOT disappointed. The food and drinks were phenomenal! The waiter was superb and the atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommended!

I’m rating the brunch experience only. I can’t say all the time but we do dine here pretty often and it’s always good. Now for brunch experience, we were very excited to try it once they announced it. We were the first table of the morning, no one else in the restaurant but a couple at the bar and they were already “out” of two items we selected. Ok no bog deal, service was ok, but now the bad part, you think French, you think amazing pastries, everything we ordered was either burnt from overheating or tasted old. The watermelon salad came missing ingredients too… We were a party of 6, most of us got the quiche and it left much to be desired. The brunch unfortunately is a no go for us.

Seafood restaurant
Bluewater Waterfront Grill is a lively venue located on the Intracoastal Waterway near Wrightsville Beach. It offers a great atmosphere with a large patio and live music, making it an ideal spot to enjoy seafood and steaks while taking in the beautiful waterfront views. The restaurant hosts a summer music series every Sunday evening from April through September, featuring talented local musicians.
We ended up going back for brunch after eating dinner here the night before - it was that good and they had a table immediately available unlike the cafe next door during brunch. The service and food are amazing. The ambiance of actually being on the water - perfect. Matt our waiter was excellent and kept the drinks topped off and was always at our table when needed and not there when not needed. This has become our go to place when visiting Wrightsville Beach. Pro tip: try the shrimp and grits - they will not disappoint.

I came here for a lunch and we were so happy with our experience! We sat outside and it was so enjoyable. The food and drinks were delicious! Definitely will be back. I was surprised that the lobster roll was cold but to my own shocking I loved it!

Amazing gem of a restaurant! Overlooking the water, the food is extremely well made, the service impeccable. We ended up coming here twice, once for dinner and once for lunch and the wait was maybe 10 minutes on Labor Day weekend. Both servers were attentive to our needs and very polite. The recommendations they gave us for food were on point, but we really think every dish was thought out and delicious. If you’re looking for seafood dishes that are fresh and well made this is the place to go to!

We had a lovely dinner, sat outside and our server was very attentive. We tried the crab dip, oysters, lobster roll, and scallops. Everything was delicious! We also loved the complimentary corn bread. I tried the spicy pineapple margarita (i love spicy food), it is definitely spicy.

Got there early 4:30, on a July 4 week weeknight, sat outside by the marina. Nice view and atmosphere. Ashley was attentive and on top of the order, even after the tables started filling up. The smoked fish dip was very good, but a standard recipe. The clam chowder has some interesting seasoning I couldn’t place, and a very good clam to potato ratio. The seared ginger tuna was excellent, as was the Mediterranean mahi. A few other items looked temping, but we were out for seafood. Would definitely go back.

We had a fantastic experience at Bluewater Waterfront Grill! Sitting outside was an absolute treat, with a stunning view of the water and boats gliding by—perfect for a relaxing day out. The staff was exceptional, especially our server, who was in training. He did an outstanding job, and we are rooting for his success at the restaurant. The lunch was delicious, with great food and drinks that made the meal truly enjoyable. This is a wonderful spot to savor a meal, sip on drinks, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. Highly recommend!

There isn't a whole lot on the menu I'd eat but I got the salmon grains bowl and it was pretty good. My partner got the fried fish plate and she liked it! I went there for the scenery, though, not so much the food. It was super cute and I enjoyed watching the sunset as we ate!

Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park is a sprawling entertainment complex and waterpark that offers a plethora of activities for visitors. From a million-gallon wave pool, lazy river, and thrilling speed slides to go-karts, laser tag, mini-golf, rock climbing wall, jungle gym, and arcade games - there's something for everyone. Open daily from May to September, it's an ideal spot for birthday parties or group outings. The park also features kiddie pools for the little ones.
Well I'm 29 in this place just gave me the best day. I grew up in Wilmington always had my birthday is in my sister's birthday is here especially the water park and you know the arcades man really have some memories. Like I said I'm 29 now and the place isn't visually the same but it is the same place I remember and enjoyed. I did the go-karts with my buddy we did the laser tag and it was just a great time for two young adults. So for the perspective of a child and a kid I sure enough would think that place is like going to heaven. And surprisingly it wasn't overpriced I mean it was fair price I would say for you know a little fun especially considering inflation in the times were in with you know a candy bar being $5. Lol. I highly recommend this for birthdays water park during the summer go-karts if you're 29 and want to enjoy some stupid childish fun.
Solace W — Google review
The park is a pretty good time. I can only speak to the arcade and mini golf areas. It’s a pretty affordable place for a date night. The only reason I couldn’t give the place five stars because the mini golf nature area needs some landscaping love. The arcade has updated games were nice but they do cost around $1.75 a game. It’s a nice little gem.
Zachary R — Google review
Good time with fun and laughs. Go kart track is short but you go around a good amount of times. Single rider and double rider available. 18 hole mini golf course is basic, nothing too hard. Arcade games and prizes inside.
Adam — Google review
It's better than not having a water park but lacks in some areas. The kiddie section is really small and not much to do for the cost.... but still my 2 year old grandson had a BLAST and 2 and under is free, so there's that.
Tomica F — Google review
On this visit I was visiting friends in Raleigh, North Carolina. I decided to take my nephew to jungle rapids. It was his first time at a water park and he lived it. Half the ride were not operational and the price to play the arcade games is outrageous. There isn't much to do in that part of North Carolina.
BALTIMORE M — Google review
The kids had a great time. The area in Where the food is served, was really hot. The fans were off. Staff members continued to make sure the water park was clean. The lines were not that long for the rides.

Just had my daughter’s 6th birthday party there in their Jungle Room. This was a huge space with slides, obstacles to climb, ball pits, and inflatables. 20 kids showed up and had a great time. I really liked this brewery. Wife found it and we went on a Wednesday night. We got right in and had a beer in front of us in no time. Great service here. Our beer was great and we ordered a burger. FANTASTIC BURGER! Seriously. I’ll go back for the burger even if they didn’t have beer. I recommend this brewery. Family friendly.

Good beer. Lots of space indoor and out. Friendly staff and quite a bit of food options. We visited with a youth sports team and they had space for us AND were friendly and accommodating with the kids--you don't always find that breweries. Try the west coast Pilsner; the margaritas were a hit with our group as well. The fried oysters app was quite good as well. Decently sized outdoor area as well. We look forward to returning.

A great place for dinner after the half Ironman race! We had the shrimp/grits tower and one of the pizzas and were very happy with both choices. Large beer selection, relaxed atmosphere, able to accommodate large groups (though would call ahead). If it had been a little warmer, we would definitely have sat outside in the large patio area.

Playground
Halyburton Park is a 58-acre nature reserve with a community building, picnic areas, playgrounds, and a 1.3-mile walking and biking trail. The park offers various nature programs for different age groups and also caters to school field trips. Visitors can explore the diverse natural landscapes, habitats, limestone deposit ponds, and observe local wildlife such as birds and butterflies. Additionally, the park features a Nature Center where visitors can learn about native animals.
What I love most about this park is it’s undeveloped natural environment. The visitor center is full of educational activities and information about the wildlife and plants that are in the area. There a a few hiking trails & one that can be accessed by bicycle. There is a playground for the kiddos as well as picnic areas for lunch. The restroom facilities are clean and the park is dog friendly ! I highly recommend this park if you are in the Wilmington area.

Nice little park with a walking track. The trail has well shaded areas and benches to sit at, spaced out around the trail. Some of the parking lot can be shaded. There is also a nice swing set for kids to enjoy.
Sally B — Google review
My favorite little gem of a park. Perfect 1.2 mile loop in a nicely shaded path. I walk and run here three or more times a week. It’s never too busy and folks all are friendly. It’s also tucked away so little traffic noises.
Scott E — Google review
A lovely park for the whole family! Great play and picnic areas. The nature center has critters to see, activity games to learn about local plants and animals. The walking trails are shady, quiet, and we'll maintained. Makes for a splendid visit!

It was super fun the playground and the hiking was all so good

They have educational walks that you can sign up for.

Attended Fire in the Pines here today, my first visit to the park. Also walked the trail, which is paved and well maintained. Lovely park and the festival was really informative!

Huge park with lots of trails - rough and paved. Signage in pertinent areas. Nice play area spread out in different sections. Very nice event building. Spent over an hour and didn't get to all of it.

Restaurant
Located at 5559 Oleander Drive in Wilmington, Casey’s Buffet is a popular no-frills stop offering a buffet spread of Southern comfort food for lunch and dinner. The restaurant has gained recognition from various sources, including being named the Best Buffet in North Carolina by Readers Digest and earning a spot on USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice for buffet restaurants.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Casey’s. The food was absolutely delicious, it was hot and fresh. It also had that comforting, authentic Southern touch which I enjoyed. I wasn’t a huge fan of the dessert options as they were not properly restocked.
Zakiyya — Google review
This place is amazing and they are truly an example of country buffet and southern cooking. All varieties of meats, vegetables, sides, and desserts. I highly recommend because they have great service and they make sure your water stays full, they come by and make sure you have everything you need, and it's nice to just speak and communicate with the helpful staff and workers there. I definitely look forward to going back many times God willing.
Warrior C — Google review
This spot is absolutely delicious home cooking at its finest. It takes me right back to Nanny’s kitchen, serving up good old-fashioned soul food. Nothing’s fancy or overly polished, but that’s what makes it so great. The buffet is far better than Golden Corral, and you can tell the folks here genuinely love what they do. The staff is always welcoming and friendly, which adds to the charm. The place itself has that “hole in the wall” vibe, but once you sit down and dig in, it just feels right. We’ve been here many times and consider it one of our go-to destination spots for amazing food.

I had the chance to eat at Casey’s in Wilmington, and it was an experience worth sharing. The buffet offers a wide variety of options, and everything I tried was flavorful and well-seasoned. Their signature BBQ and fried chicken stood out with that perfect balance of comfort and southern tradition, while the chitterlings were prepared with care and definitely worth trying for anyone who enjoys authentic soul food. I snapped a few plates full of different entrées and sides, and each one highlighted the kitchen’s commitment to quality and taste. On top of the food, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a spot that delivers hearty, seasoned dishes with genuine Southern hospitality, Casey’s is absolutely worth the stop.

Love Casey's for good old home cooking buffet. We have been stopping at Casey's for 20+ years. Our granddaughter has a standing appointment in Wilmington on Monday's and it breaks her heart everytime we tell her it is not open on Monday. She love that she can get what she wants and it makes her feel like a "grown-up". A special thank you to Mrs. Casey for introducing herself to us and making my granddaughter a part of their family.
Teresa B — Google review
This is definitely not the run of the mill ordinary buffet that most people are used to. They advertise southern soul food on the buffet and they definitely deliver on it with items like fried catfish. chittlins, collard greens, cornbread, fatback field peas, oxtails and pigs feet. I ate fried chicken, fried popcorn shrimp, catfish bites, chopped Barbeque, hush puppies, slaw, pork chops Mac and cheese, baked beans, homemade rolls and sweet tea. Then I finished up with apple cobbler, blueberry cobbler and banana pudding.

Decent food but have had much better. Decent selection but not real large selection. Public restrooms and the wait staff was attentive, kind, and courteous

4.5 ⭐ -- Stopped in Casey for the Friday dinner buffet. The interior feels like you're in your grandparent's living room, but I love it. You know it's gonna be good w/ handwritten food placards and wood panel walls. Fortunately for us, they still had BBQ pork ribs from lunch. The pulled pork was pretty good especially with their house made vinegar BBQ sauce and fresh dinner rolls off a hot pan some young man offered at our table (super kind young buck too). Mac n cheese noodles seemed overcooked and somewhat broken-up/mushy. Pork skins were nice n salty. Hushpuppies, fried chicken, and okra were all great! Fried shrimp was the daily special which had to be ordered through the server. We ordered some expecting 10 pieces of shrimp. A dish of dime sized shrimp with tartar sauce came out. I never witnessed em that petite. They tasted great but noticed through the batter that they hadn't been deveined (probably too small and meticulous). Might not bother most people but we politely declined the rest. BUT OH MY DAYS their dessert section redeemed any short comings and stole the show. Sorry a picture was taken but I trucked through some blueberry cobbler, peach cobbler, banana pudding, cherry cheesecake, and ice cream from their machine. Not gourmet by any means but comfort food for an adequate price around $17 per person. Soft drinks are extra. They have daily specials worth looking into, I still feel like we missed out on the lemon pepper catfish nuggets... Overall Casey's will fill you and your family's belly for a decent price. Great if you're craving Southern comfort food or if you have a sweet tooth. You'll find yourself in heaven with plenty of options. Catch a plate if you're near Wilmington!

Pizza restaurant
Slice of Life Pizzeria & Pub Pine Valley is a pizzeria and pub chain in Wilmington, North Carolina serving pies, wings, subs, and tacos. They offer craft beer, wine, and tequilas.
The food is SO good! I got the white pizza and added chicken and it might be the best I’ve had. Super perfect crust- not too thick or thin. Toppings piled high and very fresh ingredients. The service was great and a super chill atmosphere. Will absolutely eat here again. Also: their lunch specials are great.

You downright can't go wrong. If you want a great app, the nachos are huge. The steak queso is fantastic. The meat is a bit salty, but that's what makes it worth ordering. Great place of it's late as night as they are open till 2am

I have been here in your area for a week ... where have you been? The BEST in the area for eating out with taste and service. You MUST dine here. JAYME is the tool for their success in service.

7/2/25 - went back. It's a nice place. The food's always good. Nice staff. I sat outside in the patio area. They have a serious fly problem. They should fix that. My drink and food was constantly being attacked by flies and the dumpster was very close by. So eat inside I can only rate the pizza. Well the slice of vegetarian pizza. The first time I bought it, it wasn't as good as the second time. The second time is phenomenal. First time was fair. So I'm guessing they have different chefs or buy ingredients from different stores depending on stock? But it was a fair price and yummy. I'll be back
Jody H — Google review
Hands down they have to have the worse pizza in Wilmington. I ordered 2 plain slices and you could almost tell the way the cheese looks it wasn’t going to be good. Just different some how. After the first bite I knew wasted my money. Not sure how they pulled it off but there was very little taste at all. The sauce was just terrible which probably explains the taste. I am not kidding when I say you could probably purchase a frozen pizza at any grocery store and maybe get a better pie. I have no idea how this place stays in business. Maybe the rest of the food there is good, but I’ll never go back.
Steve L — Google review
Been a long time customer. Even have the old “Slice” card. Went recently and had a little server (couldn’t be more than 16) who stood behind the bar on her phone the whole time. The place was busy as well. To get her attention I raised my hand and she stared at me, shook her head and looked back down and talked to her server friend. The worst I have ever been treated in a restaurant. Went back the next day to speak to someone about it and was blown off. I’m done. Cutting up my card. Just terrible hires and service.

Food is okay outside of pizza. But the service here is very questionable this year.. The first time I came with a friend I sat down and our waitress (Alex) I thought was just having a bad day. But she simply doesn't have emotions to express... The second time I came with a group of 10+... We were told we could not move or sit together as a group outside because they were not allowed to move the tables, so we all left. The third time I came by myself, I was gifted (Alex) as my waitress and had the same experience as my first time with a bad day attitude and not being friendly at all. Most of the staff curses and can be heard from the main entrance... I'm not sure if I'm going ultra super classy restaurants but I've seen better service with fast food restaurants which I don't eat at... 🤷‍♂️

Coming back from our Kure beach vacation we decided to stop by this place, and it was absolutely wonderful. I'm a picky eater but everything we ordered was delicious the wings mild & hot, the pizza, pepperoni and Supreme and the peanut butter and chocolate, and vanilla and chocolate cookie ice cream sandwiches. The waitresses were very, very nice. We sat outside because we had kids with us and played games while we waited. The waitress joined in while bringing our beverages and plates out. It was all around a great experience and I will definitely be going there often.

Vegan restaurant
In the coastal town of Wilmington, The Green House Restaurant stands out as a prime example of sustainable dining. With a focus on farm-to-table principles, this eatery prioritizes seasonal flavors and fresh vegetables, offering a menu that caters to vegetarians.
Lovely peaceful atmosphere and extremely friendly service. The food was delicious. I am not vegan and didn't even think a thing of it being vegan . Started with a mocktail that was excellent. Had the word ocean in it?!. But can't remember the name. Was subtle light and refreshing. We ordered the bread and fried zucchini for appetizers, and the zucchini was my favorite of the 2, although the bread was good. But the zucchini was on point . For dinner, I had the Lions Mane and also tried the eggplant. Both were excellent. Tried all the desserts, and they were amazing. On the menu, it just had vanilla cake, chocolate cake, and cheesecake, but they were all much more than basic! Everything was plated beautifully and full of flavor. Highly recommend regardless of if you're vegan as I am a meat eater through and through, but I am a foodie more than anything, and they did an excellent job delivering creative and wonderful food!

Dined here last night with my wife and daughter and could not have enjoyed it more. The dining room is clean and airy and very comfortable. Warmly greeted at door we enjoyed excellent and friendly service at bar as we enjoyed a cocktail. Moved to our table and service continued to be excellent with food being the highlight. Everything here is completely vegan and ethically sourced and absolutely delicious. Flavorful and very satisfying we enjoyed every part of the whole experience. Highly recommend.

Went here for our anniversary and everything was exquisite. We had the cornbread for our appetizer, which featured matcha butter and strawberry ginger jam. My wife had the charred and I had the paella, both of which were incredibly delicious. We loved that the entire menu was vegan and the restaurant had a clear commitment to sustainability - even the bathrooms had washable cloths instead of paper towels. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a refined, vegan dining experience!

We had the most wonderful dinner at this vegan restaurant while celebrating my husband’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The menu was creative and full of flavors that even non-vegans would love. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with freshness. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. They even went the extra mile to make the evening memorable for my husband. A perfect blend of delicious food, warm service, and a great vibe!!

Dining at The Greenhouse was an unforgettable experience. The space was spotless and inviting, and the atmosphere felt genuinely joyful. Our server, Zach, provided exceptional service — attentive, warm, and knowledgeable. The food was presented like artwork, with flavors that were both unique and masterfully balanced. It’s clear that everyone at The Greenhouse takes real pride in their craft. Every detail, from the ambiance to the artistry of the dishes, made for a truly special evening. We can’t wait to return.

What a delightful find! Vegan fine dining, not Asian, very different, creative, and delicious. Brought a non-vegan with us who loved everything we tried. We tried a great number of the dishes. Superb. I’m so glad they’re here!!

I am not a vegan myself. I was here with a friend who is vegan and I have to say it was just fantastic! The food was excellent and the service was very, very friendly. The restaurant is very clean and tastefully decorated. I would come here again at any time and can really recommend the restaurant to anyone. Even non-vegans 😉

The food was delicious, we ordered appetizers, entrees, and drinks (alcoholic and non-) and everything was amazing. The Lions Mane dish was far above the rest though, truly unique!
