Love this place. It's family owned by the same family since the 70's or 80's. Food is freshly prepared. My favorite is the shrimp salad sub and the onion rings! Wings are awesome as well. Great drinks and they are huge supporters of our first responders. Stop in and enjoy!!

Arrived mid-week at lunch time. Sign displayed mentioned staff shortage and to please be patient. Seated ourselves. Got our own menus from bar . Wait time was not too bad. Ordered fried fish sandwich with fries and fried oyster sandwich with side of chips. Portions were small and food tasted okay but cooled off quickly

Great neighborhood restaurant. The service was great. If you eat only one thing here - make sure it is the crab dip !

such a gem! wonderful food. wonderful staff and owners. always a great time. very cold beer! prices are also fantastic. get the crab dip and the delicious wings and the grilled turkey on rye.

The Ott House is a favorite stop for us whenever we are in or passing through Emmitsburg. Parking is on street if that bothers you. Food is outstanding. I cannot say that I have ever walked out disappointed. Great prices as well. Staff is always friendly and fast.
Michael D — Google review
This is one of our favorite places to eat, but we had a very bad experience about two months ago that I'm still thinking about every time I want to go back there. We had a waitress we've never had before (and honestly I hope she is not still there). She did not say hi, did not smile, did not say a single thing really. Just acted cold and annoyed. I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt, like maybe they're having a bad day or something, but I could tell this was just her personality and she should not be working with the public. It was clear we were there for a birthday and she didn't even say happy birthday or try to make it a special night. All I can do is hope she's no longer working there because the customers don't deserve to be treated like that. Some families save up to go out to a nice dinner and someone like her goes and ruins it. I am one of those people who tips generously, but I had to get up and go outside and leave my father-in-law to deal with the tip because for the first time in my life I wanted to leave the waitress nothing. The food was great as usual, but for everyone's sake I hope that girl found a new job.
Kelly S — Google review
Great local establishment. Very friendly and attentive staff. Best crab dip I've ever eaten, highly recommended. Reasonable prices for the quality of food.
Bobtony O — Google review
The Ott house is a great place to grab a drink or a bite to eat while chatting with friends, watching sports, or shooting pool. The smaller atmosphere makes it less hectic, unless you go on a night that's filled with students. overall, they have great prices for drinks. It was awesome hanging out there with other Mount students in my last year.

My son and his lifelong childhood friend/sweetheart, got married this past Friday. They were so busy planning the wedding, the rehearsal dinner for 30 people slipped through the cracks, so about 3 weeks before the big day, I was asked to step in and plan it. I was in scramble mode until Kristy from the Carriage House Inn responded to my email. Within a couple of hours, we had the whole event planned out. Kristy was amazing to work with. Communication was easy and fast. She was patient in answering all my questions and in waiting for input from my son and his fiancee so we could finalize plans. She went out of her way to make planning as stress free as possible for me. The night of the event was just as amazing. We were in the Tack Room, which was beautiful and charming. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone raved about it. The staff was friendly, very helpful, and went above and beyond to help us with anything that we needed. And the price was extremely reasonable. I will absolutely be recommending The Carriage House Inn to our circle of friends and family in the future. Thank you to Kristy and the rest of the staff that helped make the evening before our son's wedding as perfect as we'd hoped!

Janet was a great server/bartender. Her Bloody Mary is second to none. The seafood bisque was amazing, and the warm bread was perfect with the sweet butter. I had the meatball sub as the main, but I would not order it again. It seemed very bland to me and I like a lot of spices. Otherwise, it was a great experience.

I have been wanting to go to carriage house Inn for a while now. For our anniversary my husband and I like to go out to nice restaurants and have nice, fancy meals. This restaurant is over an hour away from my house so my husband decided to surprise me and take us there for our anniversary. We ended up getting there early for our reservation and sat right away. We did not realize that on Sundays it’s a very limited menu. It’s basically brunch and then a limited dinner menu, which is OK but I would not have gone on a Sunday if I had known that because I wanted real food, but thats our fault for not looking in advance. The host was super super nice. She sat us at our table, we waited a few minutes then a girl in all black came, set some water glasses down extremely hard and then walked away. No smile. No words. Nothing. No clue who she was or her purpose but she was not happy to be giving us waters. We sat there for a while longer and then finally our waitress came over. We already been sitting there for a hot hot minute so we knew what we wanted after grabbed our drinks. We ordered an appetizer and our food. We got the tuna which was amazing and I highly recommend the tuna! Then my meal came out. My husband sat there and watched me eat my meal because I guess his wasn’t ready? Then the table next to us, their waitress told them what the specials were for the day…... I didn’t know that there were specials and I’m actually really sad because I’ve been wanting a scallop risotto for a very long time. Well, your special as a scallop risotto and I can tell you I’m sure I would’ve liked that better than that crab salad I got. The crab salad was literally just A LOT of lettuce with maybe four lump crab meat clusters on it and Three or four little shrimp from shrimp salad - definitely not worth it nor good. My husband got the bruschetta chicken and this one was on us. We didn’t realize that the bruschetta portion had raw onion on it, but we told our waitress we didn’t want scallions or onions on anything so feel like that should’ve been a clue to her to let us know that there’s raw onion on that. Thank goodness, my husband‘s not allergic, but he had to eat food that he royally does not like. More of the story is the food was not good outside of the tuna. The service was just OK - our server maybe she was overwhelmed. I have no idea, but I was super underwhelmed with this restaurant and can’t say that I would recommend it to anyone. So disappointed that my anniversary dinner was spent like that Maybe others will have a good shot though! Oh wait! I was looking for pictures - adding in their butter and rolls were super delish too!

This is my third time and my mother’s 6th. It wasn’t our favorite time. I think their renovations took away a lot of the charm away. It would be nice to have candles or flowers on the table. The Reuben was ok. We ordered sides of wilted Spinach instead of fries and it was ok. French Onion Soup and Sangria were delicious.
Linda S — Google review
Beautiful restaurant! We ate outside to take advantage of the last bit of nice weather for the summer. We made reservations and were seated right away. Service was fast and everyone was friendly. The bread they brought out before the meal was so good! All the food was delicious, I love that they use spring mix in their house salad instead of romaine or iceberg! If I lived/worked closer I would pick up one fresh everyday for lunch! I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly. Desert was also really good. The old fashioned has loose ice added which I was not expecting because usually there is no ice or just a single large sphere but I will definitely return for another dinner!

We had Carriage House cater our wedding on 9/27 and they were nothing short of amazing throughout the entire experience. Kristy was an absolute pleasure to work with. She ensured that all our questions were answered and went above and beyond to make sure our day was stress free. Her communication was impeccable, as well as her willingness to accommodate all our needs. The food was also delicious. Would highly suggest hiring them for your catering needs.

Kristy and the Carriage House team did an amazing job hosting my daughter’s Quinceañera. Staff was super friendly and professional, room setup was perfect and food was delicious. Everyone had a great time! Highly recommended

Off site catering for family wedding send off brunch. Worked with Kristy to coordinate the brunch. Kristy was knowledgeable professional and worked with us to create a menu that was just what we envisioned to end our wedding weekend. The food was amazing everyone is still talking about the French toast casserole with the pecan sauce. The staff was friendly accommodating and took care of our guests made sure all the food was hot and there was plenty. I had worked with Kristy by phone and email and she took care of every detail. She even stopped in to say hello and make sure every detail was perfect. Thank you for creating a memory!

Shopping
Emmitsburg Antique Mall, located on Chesapeake Ave, is a treasure trove for antique enthusiasts and vintage aficionados. The store offers a wide array of quality items, from silverware to hardware. Visitors can easily spend hours exploring the diverse selection of unique booths, each offering a mix of different tastes and items. Unlike other antique shops, Emmitsburg Antique Mall boasts an abundant and non-repetitive selection.
A friend recommended this place to me. There are almost an overwhelming number of stalls (we are able-bodied, and spent four hours here) and compared to nearby similar places, pricing was fair or even a little cheaper. It is a little "close" in places, so if you require a wheelchair of walker, aisles will be fine, but many booths you will need help accessing. I especially loved the various seating areas. Photos are random displays I liked, so not enormously helpful in overall view maybe. Anyway, I'll be back to do it counter-clockwise, as there was so much there I think we missed some.

I have been here a couple times and on my second visit, I have decided I Quite like this antique store. I saw a lot of really cool things, many I hadn’t seen before or at least hadn’t seen in a very long time. I honestly wish I had come here earlier in the day instead of so close to closing, because the place is absolutely huge! Kinda felt a little rushed out the door but that’s on me. I even managed to find something from Expo 67, The Montreal Quebec Canada World’s Fair. Marking my first acquisition from an international Fair 🇨🇦. I had a lot of fun in the short time I was there and definitely plan on coming back. If you like antiques and vintage things, I definitely recommend this place.

The Emmitsburg Antique Mall is a hidden gem for vintage enthusiasts and treasure hunters. With over 34,000 square feet of space, it features a wide variety of antiques, collectibles, and unique items from multiple vendors. The mall is well-organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Whether you’re looking for furniture, vintage decor, or rare finds, this spot offers something for everyone. It’s a must-visit for anyone exploring Emmitsburg!

Stopped here on our way from Dulles to Gettysburg. Plenty to look at- huge variety of items many at very affordable prices. Well worth the stop.
Madison M — Google review
No particular things interested but it is very easy to walk around.
Jane J — Google review
Very nice venue with tons of sellers and great prices. Some things fit more "vintage" than antique (saw some toy lightsabers that are maybe 10 years old) but that's pretty normal. Bonus points for the layout, which is much less cramped than these multi-seller antique bazaars/malls sometimes are. Staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

If you're in Emmitsburg and looking for a fun spot to take your kids, consider spending a day at the Emmitsburg Community Pool. This recreational area boasts a large pool suitable for all ages, with a shallow end perfect for little ones. Recent renovations have made the pool even more accessible, including the addition of a ramp for handicapped and disabled individuals. Visitors appreciate the excellent customer service and cleanliness of the facility, as well as amenities like a splash pad.
My 5 year old has a blast there! We end up staying for about 4 hours each time. Lifeguards are friendly and welcoming. Pool is clean. The only thing I would suggest is having more food choices for sale, like salads, fruit, etc.
Anna H — Google review
love the pool. we come often . however i feel the adult swim is a waste of time and very annoying. also the bathrooms need attention. know is ever cleaning or checking them . they need more table and umbrellas and some are very rusty and unsafe . but i do love the price and my kids always wanna come so we don’t let the little things stop us just putting a few things out there .
Crystal B — Google review
Definitely a nice place to be on a hot summer day
Erin O — Google review
Awesome clean pool with friendly people and a wheelchair seat for disabled
Wendy H — Google review
It's small but it's a place to cool off. Didn't dig the adults only swim. Kind of nasty to the little ones going as far as kicking them out of the very shallow end, less than 2 foot, where adults have little to no interest swimming in. It's only like 90 degrees out in blazing sun. One lifeguard in particular had the parents talking and not thrilled. There is a nice water play area. Some shade. Picnic tables. Overall not bad and happy to have something to get out and do when it's hot like this
Steve S — Google review
I brought my toddler here, and they had great customer service. The pool is very clean, and has a splash pad and a shallow end for little kids.

New pool is awesome! Love that there is a ramp now for easy access for handicapped and disabled people. I have bad knees, and getting out of the pool was a killer before. Well done on the renovations.

As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with a smile. The food was amazing and the service was great! We do not live in the area, but we will make the trip just to eat here again. Thank you for your hospitality!!

Pretty disappointed with our lunch experience today. Our server, Mandy, clearly was distracted. Took our drink order, didnt bring it, asked us again later Several tables were seated long after us but got food, and one table left before we FINALLY got our lunch (my soup and hubby's sandwich). Food was decent, but certainly not outstanding. Dont go here if you are in a hurry!

I would love to tell you about it, but it was closed for vacation. Will try again.

A favorite for many years! Always great service and very good food. It's my go-to for breakfast with my son. Also, the homemade desserts are something I look forward to.
Christy L — Google review
Great food and awesome service. Thanks.
Franklin L — Google review
The food was a level below fast food, the owner was rude and foul mouthed, and I knew someone who worked there who was quite satisfied with the job but swore to never eat there I asked why and the only problem they relayed was that there was a serious cockroach problem in the kitchen and mice droppings as well. So that was enough to never eat there again
Gypsy G — Google review
Good comfort food. Better than other similar restaurants in the area. Salisbury steak is great. Love their corn fritters. Service is always good. Lots of locals eat here regularly. Great choice of delicious desserts. Very cozy atmosphere. I've never had a meal here that I didn't enjoy. I'm always able to find street parking. Can't wait to go back!

Pizza delivery
Pizza Hut is a beloved dining destination that caters to pizza enthusiasts and food lovers alike. With its convenient options for delivery, carry-out, or dine-in, this popular chain serves up an array of mouthwatering meals. From their signature pizzas like the Meat Lovers and Original Stuffed Crust to tantalizing wings, hearty pastas, and delightful desserts, there's something for everyone at Pizza Hut.
Our family had given up on this store but after hearing about a lot changes we tried them again. The rumors were true and they haven't let me since our return! Food is always hot and correct. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. It's clear that they are all working hard to improve the store, service and food. Kudos to this team for turning this place around.
Holly G — Google review
If you plan to dine in, don't come here. The pizza was great and the staff behind the counter was polite and attentive but the place was super dated and absolutely filthy. No one has vacuumed or mopped up in quite some time, and the bathrooms were definitely not cleaned on a daily basis. I get that the dining room was closed for a long time, but don't reopen it if you're not going to do even basic maintenance or offer even basic condiments, like salt (which they evidently didn't have at all).
Jessica G — Google review
They don’t have their own delivery drivers, they use uber. So they’ll let your food sit for 20 minutes without giving a heads up It would have been different if they let me know as soon as they could that no uber driver was coming. I would have gone and picked it up. But they were perfectly content with letting the food sit, and just send it out as is 20-30min later.
Paul H — Google review
I ordered pizza to be delivered but everything went wrong. I called the store because my pizza tracker said it had been delivered but it wasn't. They said something was wrong with the system and that it would get to me when it gets to me pretty much. Well an hour after i ordered I get a call from the front desk at the hotel that the pizza delivery guy was here. He said he couldn't bring the pizza to my room. I've stayed in hotels all over the USA and never heard of that I believe it is just an excuse for laziness on the delivery guys part. Well i get my pizza there is no extra sauce on the pizza like i asked for. The pizza was dripping grease. I gotta say if you want a good pizza avoid this place. Little Caesars has better pizza.
Justin D — Google review
They are renovating, just reopened the dining room. Came on a sunday for lunch. One person working, very nice and made great pizzas but made the mistake of using the restroom and it was pretty gross.
Ashley R — Google review
Respectfully, DON'T ORDER FROM HERE. I just had yet another terrible experience with this specific pizza. For the second time I had ordered from here and had them cancel my order without letting me know, so I sat there waiting for over an hour expecting my food just to call and them tell me "oh we cancelled it 10 minutes after we received your order". Tell me why they think that not calling to let me know my food had been cancelled is good service. Im not even mad that they didn't get their shipment for the week so they can't make anything but why make me starve for an hour, when it could have simply been not that big a problem had they just called to inform me about it. If you want pizza Hut I HIGHLY suggest not from Emmitsburg. Y'all don't even deserve the one star I'm forced to give you to post this.

Stavros Pizza

Pizza restaurant
Stavros Pizza in Emmitsburg, MD, is a delightful culinary gem that goes beyond just serving pizza. While their pizzas are undeniably delicious—with toppings nestled beneath a perfectly baked crust and an abundance of melted cheese—there's so much more to explore on the menu. Guests rave about the subs, stromboli, and crispy zucchini sticks that melt in your mouth.
The best crust & sauce I have had! Excellent service & food! A must try!
Lynn H — Google review
The pizza is pretty good here. I have had better, but it isn't bad. I cant speak for the other food they serve. The place itself isn't much but it was clean and homey. The pizza is definitely better than Pizza Hut or Domino's. The crust was pretty good, cooked to a crispy golden brown. The sauce is good and they put plenty of cheese on it. It's a decent pizza and the cost isn't outrageous. One pizza place, King's in Inwood, cost $22 for a medium that is not worth it. Stavros understands you cant charge outrageous prices for a simple pizza.
Adonnis G — Google review
This place is amazing! So the lows: I ordered on the web, the web site feels a bit clunky. The parking lot is super tight. The highs: the food. I ordered an 8" cheese, pepperoni, and mushroom pizza. It was delicious. One thing to keep in mind if you go here: the toppings are below the cheese. The crust was great, I loved how some of my toppings got tucked under the crust. I also got zucchini sticks, and they were amazung as well. Crisp on the outside, melt in your mouth on the inside. Finally because it was Thursday, they have a sub special on Thursdays (in March anyway), it too was nice and melty and just plain good. If you are in the area dine in or take out from here if you want some great pizza!
Carl T — Google review
Excellent pizza, lots of wonderfully melted cheese. Customer service is as good as it gets, owners walk around and asks opinions. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the place could use some updating and paint. Other than that, the good is very good!
Patti O — Google review
We were told on the phone it would be 25-30 minutes for our pick up order. When we got there (after 30 minutes) the boy rang us up and walked away. We were standing to the side for about 15 minutes. It was a Friday night so I figured they were busy but it was getting to be too long. I walked up to the cashier (same boy that rang us up) and asked if they knew how much longer until our food would he ready. He looked in the hotbox that has the ready orders and and our order was in there. He had been in there since before we got there. We got pizza that had a burnt taste to the crust, mozzarella sticks that were also dark and breaded mushrooms. We got 7 mushrooms in our order that cost almost $6. It was not a good experience what so ever and will probably not go back.
Lauren S — Google review
Used to really like this place, especially the meatballs and cheese sub. Today there was so little sauce on it, I could barely choke it down. When I asked for a small cup of sauce the guy had the nerve to tell me there would be an additional charge. How much can a couple teaspoons of sauce cost them. Also, the meat on my wife's steak and cheese tasted like it had been frozen for about a year. NOT going back there!
Sam R — Google review
Best pizza around, staff is super friendly and fairly price. Restrooms our clean and old fashioned, they have games for kids. Walking distance from the Ott house and the liquor store. Plus they have their own parking lot and it always has spots available. But only park there if your getting pizza because their is a sign they say they tow violators.
Jacob B — Google review
Stavros has been a staple in the town for years and although they have gone through changes the place and pizza havent changed much...and this is a good thing. The pizza is our favorite and it is pretty unique. If you like a cheesy pizza with a big crust you will love this. We do eat in and carry out. They make the pizzas to order but so there can be a wait but it is worth it.

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Frederick County Fire Rescue Museum. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Although I don't follow any religious beliefs, I acknowledge that the shrine National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes is a remarkable location. It serves as a sacred site for prayer and contemplation. Adjacent to it is the Seton Shrine, which provides insight into the life of Mother Seton. This sanctuary encourages silent devotion and prohibits conversation within its grotto area.
I came here 18 years ago when I was trying to conceive. I really believe the Virgin Mary and God have blessed me with the most wonderful life. I have become a Lapsed Catholic but started to reflect on my faith with recent Pope Francis news. I am now donating monthly to wonderful Catholic Relief Services because they are no longer getting federal funds. I came here to visit yesterday and it was a perfect sunny winter day with many Catholics visiting. We went to Mass first at the St Elizabeth Seton Shrine, here, and then went to eat seafood in town. We walked here and looked at the new statues & stations of the Cross along the pathway that weren't here 18 years ago. We also got water from the Grotto. I love this place. It is serene and beautiful. It will look gorgeous in the summer.

What an incredible place and the view from the top is just nothing short of stunning! Not only the journey up Route 15 to the shrine and grotto, but the walk through the gardens with the stations of the cross as well as many places to stop and pray to the Saints before you get to the actual grotto… it was just magnificent. On the way back down the path, we stopped and fill containers with the holy water that had been blessed. Plan on making a day of it, make sure to bring water, plenty of water and some snack, snacks or lunch and catch the view.

Past this place for many years on roadtrips and finally found time to stop and glad I did. Very serene feeling and very quiet unless a service is going on in the grottoes

The National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes is a truly blessed and breathtaking place, filled with the peace and presence of God. It’s a beautiful refuge for prayer, reflection, and deep spiritual renewal. From the moment you step onto the grounds, you can sense the holiness of this sacred site. The natural beauty surrounding the grotto, along with the lovingly maintained pathways and statues, reflects the devotion and reverence poured into this holy place. Every detail draws your heart closer to God and His Mother. The atmosphere here is one of profound serenity, inviting every visitor to pause, pray, and encounter the love of Christ through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes. It’s a powerful reminder of God’s mercy and the comfort of the Blessed Mother. Though it is a Catholic shrine, all are welcome to experience the peace and grace that radiates here. Whether you come seeking healing, offering thanksgiving, or simply looking for quiet time with the Lord, this is a beautiful place to pray and be renewed in spirit.

I'm not Catholic, but my trip here was amazing. I was driving and decided to stop after seeing the sign. There weren't any other people there, so the place was silent and free for me to walk around. There are a lot of trails with statues along the way to aid you in your prayers, including many which are fairly secluded in the woods. Also has a nice gift shop where I bought some very fragrant incense!
Nicholas M — Google review
It is generally a peaceful place for the faithful to come and pray and be one with God. The one thing I would suggest is the begging for donations is excessive. It makes those who cannot afford them feel guilty. There should be one donations box and that’s it. Even those who are struggling right now have a right to commune with God.

The Grotto of the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes is a special place for prayer. ❤️ I went with family and friends, everyone loved visiting the sanctuary. I scheduled myself to attend the mass on Saturday at 12:00 PM. It was a wonderful moment. The priest made a blessed homily. I recommend to go and meet and practice worship and mass. It has a store with several souvenirs to buy as a souvenir or give as a gift to someone special.

The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton is a beautiful religious basilica and shrine dedicated to the life of Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first native-born American to be canonized as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church. The shrine, designated as a National Shrine, commemorates Seton's journey from being a teacher in Baltimore to founding the Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph, which was the first free girls' Catholic school in the United States.
This is a beautiful place to visit, it's the final resting place of the first north American saint whom is buried inside the church itself. The shrinr is breathtaking with all the art and decorations around, this is for sure a site to behold

We stopped going to Church when we moved to Harrisburg. This shrine is on list of Catholic Pilgrimage sites in America so we went to check it out as well as visit the Lourdes grotto replica a mile away. This is a lovely church and I enjoyed the serenity of the mass along with the light coming in through the windows. My usual church in Alexandria, VA was dark. The museum exhibits about the first American saint, St Elizabeth Seton are also nice along with the gift shop.

Very pleasant grounds, a very peaceful shrine, and an informative museum about the life of St. Elizabeth Seton. They even had a 1970's living room with the coverage of her canonization playing continuously. We are happy that we stopped.

Me and my wife love to visit the shrine of Mother Seton, it brings such inner peace to us both that we visit every few months just since it makes us feel so wonderfully. The new exhibit is amazing and tells of Mother Setons life, worth every minute.

This is the shrine of America's first saint - St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Between reception and the church is a long hallway with museum displays on both sides. The church is beautiful. It's obvious that a lot of love went into making it. Everyone we met was friendly, even if we didn't speak. Parking is kind of a challenge because I have a walker. Lots of places to sit on the way, though.

I enjoyed the guided tour of the historic homes at the Shrine of St. Eliz. A. Seton. The tour guide provided an interesting and informative tour of the history of the homes and Seton's life. The museum and Basilica were also very impressive.

E. Eugene Myers Community Park, located in Mountaineers Way, is a fantastic destination offering a wide range of facilities for visitors seeking exercise and entertainment. The park features a playground for kids, ball fields, a swimming complex, barbecue grills, tennis courts, and more. Visitors can enjoy the clean and refreshing pool with reasonable costs and attentive lifeguards. Additionally, the park offers a new nine-hole disc golf course and an amazing walking path with beautiful views.
20250518 This is my go-to park to walk my girls when I'm on a road trip and driving by. The trail around this park is .5 mile. It's dogfriendly, and clean. 20221009 This is a great park!! With 2 baseball fields, a huge disc course, and a paved fitness trail with fitness equipment. A very dogfriendly trails. This park is very clean and there is a parking lot next to each baseball field. A total of 2 parking lots. There are portable toilets and some picnic tables.

Well thought out park, great playground for the kids, but what's the point of having bathrooms if they are not unlocked. Usually when a 4 year old says they got to go, you got a few minutes before you have an accident. Walk over to the restroom only to find it locked at 11:20 in the morning.

I play disc golf here a few times a month and it has come a long way in a few short years. The local club has put in alot of work cleaning up the course and making the course more beautiful and less harsh if you end up off of the fairway. I highly recommend playing here if you have the chance.

Subway is a laid-back, counter-service eatery where you can customize your own sandwiches and salads, catering to those who prioritize healthy eating. During my visit, I encountered a minor hiccup with gift cards on the app not functioning as expected. However, the exceptional customer service truly stood out; the staff member reassured me that it wasn't my fault and wished me well. This positive interaction left such an impression that I can't wait to return for another delicious meal!
My gift cards loaded on app wouldn't work when I tried to pay. Outstanding customer service when the lead employee told me "Sir, it's not your fault, your subs are on us. Have a great day." I will definitely revisit this store simply because of the customer experience that day. Great job!

I can't say enough bad about this location. They are always out of something. Be it bread, or ingredients. Also they never accept national promotions. Its worth the drive to Thurmont or Waynesboro to get what you ordered. My last order i ordered food, they call from a cell phone to say no italian bread surprise surprise. They tell me I can cancel my order through the app. You can not in fact cancel through the app. I tried calling, no answer multiple times. Had to drive to the store to tell them to just make it with what they have. They seemed so clueless. I hate to be this mean but they just can never get anything right here. Owner obviously could care less and I will never be back and I will ensure everyone I know is made away of the continuous problems from this location. And when I finally got this order they had not freaking lid for my sale so it was strapped in plastic wrap. I attached the pictures of this mess. Second update, the damn bread was hard as a rock when we got home. This franchisee is so bad I will call Subway to ensure they know about not just my experience but so many others in the area

You'll be lucky to walk out with a sandwich that has everything you want on it and that doesn't make you sick. There's a reason this place has such a reputation of getting shut down. Also, I watched the owner slander a blind customer for not being able to read the menu. That marked my time to leave and never come back.
Rickie — Google review
The young lady/gentleman that were working their shift did not change their gloves while making my sandwich. Proceeded to touch the oven as well as the register buttons with the same glove that handled my food. Please change your gloves when working on food service.

Everytime i order on the app, when I get to the store they are out of something and have to wait even longer for them to make the food. You might as well add at least 10 min or longer to the pickup time because it's guaranteed to not be ready when you get there.
Tim L — Google review

Chubby's Barbeque offers a genuine passion for barbecued food, ensuring satisfaction. The service is commendable, with prompt delivery of orders and a delightful taste that is both fresh and delicious. It's important to note that the hot sauces should be approached cautiously, especially if you're not accustomed to them; the black label sauce is particularly fiery but enjoyable. All of their dishes boast incredible flavors that beautifully complement one another.
Exactly what I was looking for. Drove by the other day and glad I came back. Hubby liked the chili so much he got two.. I prefer mine with beans and a lil less salt. We both loved the burnt ends (ate them before photos sorry) and the Mac and cheese was sooo cheesy! Their slogan was good food ain’t cheap / cheap food ain’t good but I thought the prices were a little high but hopefully the meat is locally sourced 😬. Service was good, bathroom was ehh. As far as the atmosphere.. I did like the variety of seating and cute candy/ claw machines. Taking home the 3 meat combo so I’ll be back an update. Update 7/15: The chili gave some serious heart burn lol! But the brisket... yum!!! Tender with a decent mix of meat/fat. The pulled pork was good too, and the portions were generous. oh and the greens were done right, with teeny tiny carrots and potatoes. Burnt ends were the best though. Will be back!

We were here 5 years ago. The food was excellent, just like back then. Best pork belly. We split a 3 meat combo and still brought half home.

My husband and I always stop here on our way home from VA. It is one of our favorite stops!! Service is friendly and fast. The food is always excellent! We got the pulled pork sandwich and burger with fries this time. We also brought home the burnt ends with baked beans and cornbread. So good!!!! As long as they're open we will always stop in!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chubby's BBQ, and it was a barbecue lover's dream come true! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the mouthwatering aroma of smoked meats. The menu offered a tantalizing array of barbecue options, and I couldn't resist trying a bit of everything. Their ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the brisket was perfectly smoked, and the pulled pork was incredibly flavorful. The barbecue sauces, with their unique blends of sweet and tangy, added the perfect finishing touch to each dish. The atmosphere at Chubby's BBQ is relaxed and welcoming. It's the type of place where you can unwind with friends or family and savor some fantastic barbecue. The rustic decor and friendly staff create an inviting experience. And speaking of the staff, they were attentive and passionate about barbecue, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. They were more than happy to answer any questions and provide recommendations. Chubby's BBQ has earned a special place in my heart (and stomach). If you're a barbecue enthusiast or just looking for some mouthwatering comfort food, I highly recommend giving Chubby's BBQ a visit. You won't be disappointed!

Real love of BBQ, you won’t be disappointed. Good service, I was surprised when I ordered food and couple minutes after I got everything in my table, fresh, delicious taste in a quick! Be careful with hot sauces specially if you don’t use it commonly cause black label it’s really hottt but good…. All of them are just amazing taste to combine all dishes. Great customer service, good menu, nice atmosphere, it is a clean place but can be better. Don’t be worried about parking lot there are plenty space. At the first time if you think that the place is closed you make sure because looks like close but it’s not.

7/13/2024 - What happened!! Subpar food, poor service and dirty restaurant. The bbq was cold, and the greens were horrible. There were 3 tables with customers when we came in. Most of the tables had not been cleared so we had to sit in the back. Our server was to busy chatting it up with the cook to pay attention to the customers. We will not be back. As you can see below this was our original review :( The BBQ at Chubby's is the bomb! Everything here is delicious. This was our first visit and we definitely will be back. Make sure you wear your stretchy pants because you get a lot of food here. Make sure you really read the menu too, because it is entertaining. The establishment is very clean. The staff is super friendly and very helpful.

Whenever I land in Maryland my first stop is to see my Bestfriend and eat. Per our usual, I search Yelp for what we’re in the mood for and go from there. This time I was in the mood for Barbeque and we ended up at Chubby’s! Chubby’s was super easy to find as it's right off the main road. There is ample parking in their private lot which was awesome as I was ready to eat. LoL! Upon walking in I was greeted by Michelle who also ended up being my waitress. Michelle was very pleasant and very engaging. Upon being seated, Michelle went over the menu with my table, answered my this vs. that questions, took our drink orders and allowed us some time to figure out what we wanted. When Michelle arrived back with my Sweet Tea (which was absolutely awesome) she took our orders and told me to make sure I saved space for dessert. As we couldn’t decide on what to choose we ended up with a table of options. Based on what I was able to taste from everyone’s plates, here’s an overview: Bestie: Pork Belly - Perfectly done and super flavorful. Besties Wife: Chubby Burger - Uniquely crafted burger that is Super Filling and pairs well with the “Any Last Words” sauce. Coleslaw - Ahhhhhhhhmaaaaazingggggg Kiddies: Onion Rings - Great flavor profile in the batter. Nice sized onion. Served fresh and perfectly golden. Mozzarella Sticks - Suler cheesy and good. As far as my meal… The first word that comes to mind for me is WOW!!!! Along with good service Chubby’s has good food. My Burnt Ends were meaty, flavorful, perfectly done, and had the authentic smoked barbeque flavor that I was seeking. The fries were hand cut and gooooooood. Crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. Perfectly salted and a perfect pairing to my Burnt Ends… With having the Burnt Ends as my main course I was able to test out the sauces. OmMyGosh! I never knew how much I loved an assortment of barbeque sauces until today. However, though each sauce held its own and I appreciate the variation; I fell in LOVE with the “Private Reserve!” The Private Reserve sauce is a crafted blend that gives you a little bit of each flavor desire. There’s a hint of spice, a dash of sweet, and a smooth undertone of smokiness. Now, if you’re a lover of experimenting like me, make sure to blend the Private Reserve with the Hot… Out. Of. This. Worlddddddddddd good. I had the Gooey Vanilla Cake for dessert. It was super moist, flavorful, and the Caramel drizzle really sets it off. It puts you in the mindset of cheesecake meets cake with a flaky texture. Chubby’s was an awesome find and I would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for some good barbeque.

Great food, amazing brisket, sandwiches are so tasty and the portions are huge. The wait staff are friendly and helpful. The place offers a real BBQ experience with a sense of humor all around, we do not do pork so the waitstaff helped us avoid all things swine, we still had a lot of options, the dessert was also amazing. Our toddler cried and she was loud and we didn't like the way the owner reacted. Aside from that, this is our new spot for great BBQ and nice service.

We weren't sure what to expect when we decided to check this out and were in for a surprise. You pull up and are met by armed guards. Three for us. They asked lots of questions, had us get out, and searched the vehicle to be sure there were no weapons. We then went to a guard building and went through a metal detector and filled out paperwork. We left our driver's license with the guard. We were given a map and told to stay in the highlighted area ONLY! This memorial is in the National Emergency Training Center in Maryland. Very humbling memorial. Thank you to those who serve and protect and those who lost their lives doing so.

While on a federal facility, the 9/11 Firefighters Memorial is still accessible to the public. I want to start by apologizing. I was so overwhelmed by this memorial, I forgot to take a picture. Inna few paragraphs I will explain why I took the pics I did. I was met at the gate by Officer Joy, who was as an absolute JOY 🤩 He took my id, gave the car a quick but thorough search, and directed me to a visitor building for metal detector screening and gave me a visitor badge. *This beautiful memorial is federal facility so please approach with respect and without weapons or drugs in the car--AND DO NOT TAKE PICS OF ANYTHING BUT THE MEMORIAL.* One piece of feedback For FEMA: The last time I visited this memorial was almost 20 years ago when I was badged to be on base, but the flag that currently flies IS NOT TO SCALE ANYMORE. As someone who has 20 years dated experience with FEMA contracting, imma say the procurement officer didn’t make a mindful and careful purchase of the RIGHT SIZED FLAG for these giant statues. Please remedy. Thank you ALL FEMA employees for your service to our nation, (Even those that don't check the dimensions on the original purchase order --we still love you for your commitment to the mission and country :) And, on that note, be sure to visit the memorial for FEMA civilians who dedicated their live to serving those in need after disaster--many who perished alongside badged officers, agents, Firefighters. (Side note: when I die, cremate my body and spread the ash at this memorial. It honors people like me, and I'm so proud to suggest you Google a man And nothing but gratitude and appreciation for every first responder who ran towards the fire that day, but especially for the fallen. They are American heros. Please honor them.

The National Fallen Firefighters Memorial is built within the walls of the National Fire Rescue and Emergency Training Academy in Emmitsburg Maryland. It is also the home of the Federal Emergency Management Agency or (FEMA) as well. This very impressive memorial dedicated to the memories of all of the fire and rescue personnel, career, and volunteer from across the country who have lost their lives in the line of duty while selflessly serving their communities. As a career firefighter who has lost co-worker's who we're also friends of mine in the line of duty, it is comforting to know that their is a place that not only their families but my other co-worker's and I can all go to pay our respects to them and their memories. If you are ever in the area, it is definitely a place that you should visit and pay your respects.

Nestled in the charming town of Emmitsburg, Carleo Italian Pizza is a delightful culinary stop that promises an authentic taste of Italy. After exploring the serene shrines of Lady of Lourdes and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton nearby, many visitors find themselves drawn to this cozy eatery for its mouthwatering pizza and homemade lasagna, all offered at reasonable prices. Diners rave about the friendly staff who greet you with warm smiles and provide attentive service throughout your meal.
This is one of the nicest family restaurants I’ve been to in awhile. It is small, only a few tables, but they have a booming pizza and takeout business. We ate in. Their homemade meatlover’s lasagna was awesome. Tasty sauce. Plenty of melted cheese. Lots of meat! Baked perfectly and still bubbling when it was brought to the table. And the meal included a salad! The portion was wonderfully large. Think of a full sized pie tin on a large dinner plate. Talk about value! I had half for dinner and half for today’s lunch. Also, the little loaf of Italian bread was superb. The staff is very friendly and multitasking continually, but not so busy that they won’t check on you regarding how the food is or if you need your drink topped off. In any case, if you’re in Emmitsburg, this is a definite stop. If I’m back this way I will be definitely be stopping back. Now time to catch my flight. God bless!

I usually love Carleos and order from them often, but this visit was disappointing. I’ve never seen string cheese used on a pizza before and unfortunately, it didn’t taste good at all.

I left a 5 star review 4 years ago, since then they're reliability to have my order ready on time has plummeted. The food is still great, both the steak and chicken and cheese subs as well as the pizza (sweeter sauce) but I can no longer rely on them to have my order ready on time.

Stopped in for lunch on a weekday. Has only a few tables inside, mostly does carryout. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pizza was amazing - some of the best pizza I have ever had. I wished we lived closer so we could stop in for the pizza more often. Definitely plan to stop in again when we are in the area.

It's a very small, legit, pizza shop. Excellent pizza. They run a proper pizza oven; no conveyer belt nonsense. not a lot of room. 4 booths at most. A couple of outside seats. Clearly a popular takeout spot. The inside is not dirty, but it is definitely cluttered. we stopped here with several members of a soccer team after an event and completely filled the place up. Food was excellent. Customer service was excellent. If I lived close by I would frequent this establishment.

This is a nice pizza / sub shop. There is not a lot of seats. The staff is friendly. The food was good and fairly priced. I got the large cheese steak sub. It was only $1 more than the small. I wish it had a little more meat but the food fit the price. They also give discounts to vets and first responders.

Great food, nice staff. Seating is tight, so definitely a grab and go spot. We have eaten here alot over the years

Older Grandma seems too run the show, her I'm assuming sons / grandchildren help cook the food. Amazing quick home cooked meals, made with love highly suggest going out of your way to support a business like this.
