The Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center is a massive 26-acre indoor venue that hosts the largest agricultural exposition in the state. The highlight is the Pennsylvania Farm Show in January, celebrating the region's farming heritage. Throughout the year, it welcomes various events like trade shows, sporting competitions, and expos such as Monster Truck Thunder and Harrisburg Gun show. Visitors can explore history exhibits and enjoy events like Horse World Expo.
Today, I attended the 2025 PA Home + Garden Show. If you just purchased a home, are looking to upgrade or transform your home, or maybe add some curbside appeal, you need to visit this show. It is a one-stop shop for remodeling or upgrading your home. As a garden enthusiast and houseplant parent, I was disappointed with the many home remodeling options, but there were not enough gardens. I’m thankful to see the presence of local businesses like Ashcombe Fern Mobile Plant Shop, the Palmyra Mobile Greenhouse, and, new to me, Seymour’s Apothecary & Plant Boutique. Definitely, a fun day one stop shop learning about business in Central PA

I attend the yearly Standardbred Horse Sale at the Farm Show Building/Complex every November ... It's always a fun several days ... I lived in Harrisburg for several years in the '80s, and even attended a high school basketball game in the large arena - the horse sale is held in the small arena - as well as the Farm Show itself ... Nice facility ... and less dusty than it used to be. 😉 (The horse sale used to be held in the large arena in, like, the '60s and earlier, I believe ...)

Always a good time, free admission, and $15 parking. Got to meet a legendary chef and watch a demonstration. I also got my free recipe book signed. There are so many vendors for almost everything, and this complex is enormous. There are so many food choices. Also, animals are everywhere. It is so much fun. I highly recommend going every year!

Excellent facility...My only suggestion is to create a grazing area for the horses.

I look forward to the Farm Show every year. From enjoying the delicious 🥤milkshakes to seeing the cows and goats, it’s always such a fun experience to share with family and friends. The farmers’ passion and love for their animals is truly contagious, making it an event I look forward to 😄🐄🐐🐓

Open farmer's market every tuesday and Friday, great selection of fruits vegetables at good prices.
Terry K — Google review
Stopped by the Farmers Market on a Tuesday morning! There was so much to choose from — fresh produce, baked goods, handmade items, and more. It had a nice steady flow of people, but it wasn’t too crowded, which made browsing and chatting with vendors really pleasant. 😊 Great way to support local and stock up on some delicious, fresh finds. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Fun day with my sister. Highly recommend going early because the place is huge & lots to see!! We parked in HACC lot and got shuttled right to the door. Very convenient instead of driving all around looking for a spot. Parking was $15. Free shuttle and entrace to farm show. Went on a Saturday. It was very busy! But, everyone there was friendly & seemed in a good mood. The food lines were very long, but moved quickly. Highly recommend the cider donuts & cheese cubes!!! Yum! Milkshakes are overrated. They taste just like McDonald's, nothing special. The pierogies & potato pancakes were also very good. We were a little disappointed that they ran out of sour cream, but it was the last day. The owners of the animals were very knowledgeable and answered all of your questions. You can get up close and touch all the animals. Over all ~ fun day! Next time, I think I'd like to see the rodeo.

Brewery
The Millworks, situated in Midtown Harrisburg, is a unique restaurant and brewery housed in a lofty space constructed with reclaimed timber from the historic Stokes Millwork. The establishment prides itself on serving farm-fresh local fare and supporting the local art scene. In addition to a full bar, it features art galleries and an outdoor dining patio adorned with a vertical garden, creating a serene atmosphere for patrons. The building also houses artists' studios and a gift shop showcasing artwork created by residents.
Talk about a cool place! This farm to table dining experience is one you’ll want to bring friends and family to. With artist quarters and galleries to check out while you wait, and even an entire craft brewery selection to choose from at the bar you’ll want to keep coming back. The menu items are all so enticing it was difficult for me to choose what I wanted to eat; I would’ve ordered the entire menu if I had the time. Had the wood fired pesto pizza and everything about it was great from the bread, to the sauce, cheese and pesto! I strongly recommend the French press coffee if you want a good cup, and if you want a cocktail, you can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. The drinks are beautiful and taste incredible. Will definitely be coming back! Just don’t forget to make a reservation as this establishment is really popular during the holiday season.

A fantastic brewery with great food and great local artists. We came after spending the day in Harrisburg looking for a unique place to grab a drink and a bite to eat and we chose correctly. Most of the staff were super friendly and our waiter was very helpful with the menu and all the beers. They even let us have some samples at our table. The hostess didn't set a good first impression as she was rather condescending, but luckily it got better after her. The drink menu is decent. We tried a few beers and we didn't care for any of them, luckily the coxktails were good. The food came out much faster than we expected which was great and everything was really good. We were really impressed. After dinner we checked out the local shops and artists. Overall, this was a great dining experience with great food. Overall I think it's a cool place and we enjoyed ourselves. Recommended.

One of the best brunches I’ve had in a long time. Service was excellent; Bob was very friendly and attentive. Every thing I tried was delicious. The country fried chicken and gravy gave me a home cooked feel, it was very filling and satisfying. The cold brew was noticeably exceptional; I ordered mine with the chai and vanilla syrups, which were not too sweet or overpowering. Service was quick as well. The restaurant plays on the classic “farm to table” aesthetic, with denim aprons and cut wine bottle water glasses. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and several local artists shops attached.

All four of us loved our drinks and food. Bren was a great server as well. Very welcoming and cozy environment and the upstairs outside bar area is great on a late summer night. Highly recommend! If the art galleries are open also check them out! One of a kind local art work.

So upon arriving I was a little nervous due to the area it was in but this place did not disappoint! The food here was incredible and the service was great. The fact that it was a large building with a Biergarten on the rooftop and multiple local artists had shops inside as well. It was a beautiful place. Our server Bren was so welcoming and friendly! She made the experience even better! We ordered 2 of the pizzas and the crust here is amazing. I don’t know what they do but it’s some of the best pizza dough I’ve had. We got the street corn pizza which I loved and the Korean pizza which was good although it was a lot! My boyfriend ordered the poutine, the tacos and the chilled noodle bowl.

Everything was amazing! Came in on a Thursday night during restaurant week, not too busy but we did get there a hour before closing. Ambiance was very welcoming and the dining floor was gorgeous and very spacious. Started off with the perfect stranger for drinks. We ordered the cauliflower buffalo “wings”, mojo scallops and miso salmon- (restaurant week special). All of it came out perfectly and delicious. Oh lastly, the strawberry shortcake cheesecake with a scoop of pumpkin cheesecake ice cream was to die for! Service was prompt and attentive. Our server, Bren, was lovely and made the dining experience fun!
Francesca R — Google review
Cannot recommend this place enough!! Farm to table deliciousness. First time there and our waitress Kate was very, very knowledgeable and gave amazing recommendations. Our drinks were never empty and when ever we return to the area, we will definitely be dining here again!! Thank you Kate

Excellent food and drink options, the service was fast and nice, and everything was clean. I got the chicken sandwich and some mac and cheese. The sandwich was really good, and had a good balance of flavors without being too out there. Tbe Mac and cheese was good, but not really worth the price in my opinion, I think another side would have been better I especially enjoyed that there is also an art gallery in the same building, which was a great post meal activity!

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Wildwood Park, located just northeast of Uptown, is a dog-friendly preserve offering a variety of trails and boardwalks that wind through marshes and wet woodlands. The 229-acre park features over 6 miles of hiking trails, providing opportunities to explore untouched wilderness and enjoy striking scenery around the 90-acre shallow lake. Visitors can immerse themselves in nature by taking in views of meadows, forests, lakes, wildflowers, and wildlife along the scenic nature trails.
Found this scenic trail hike, best place to unwind and relax in. Must be more beautiful when flowers bloom ☺️ Dogs are allowed, however they must be leashed at all times. Restrooms are available in both north and south checkpoints (where parking lots are). I find it interesting that the Wildwood Way Trail offers unique artworks to admire. With that being said, make sure to bring water and enjoy the hike!

Very well maintained and beautiful place for a hike with dogs! There's a variety of paved to primitive trails and the maps online as well as posted at the park make it easy to choose a path appropriate for you. We saw so many birds, turtles and frogs! It's really nice that there are benches placed periodically on the trails, especially at great places to stop and take in the view. I hiked here alone with my dogs and felt very safe.

Beautiful park in the middle of a busy area. The trails are amazing, you can tell they do a lot of up keep especially with Fox Run trail (with the wooden planks) and the multiple boardwalk sections. The different trials also give a lot of terrain variety for running/walking. Will definitely be going back to do 1 trail I didn't get to run and to enjoy all the stunning nature.
Kiara M — Google review
It's a nice trail in a natural woody area with changing color trees, birds chirping in the neighborhood of busy highways. The Paxton Creek along the trail adds to the calming effects. My dog and I had a great visit on a beautiful Fall Saturday afternoon.

This is a super chill park. Some picnic and grilling areas. 2 marsh boardwalks. Some observation decks. Had a good time walking around and exploring. Wish I had checked out the Nature center but oh well🤷‍♂️

Too much noise from traffic. Whole park needs cleaned up a bit. Overall a nice place to take a walk and see some nature.

Probably my favorite nature site in all of Harrisburg. Everyday rest assured you’re going to see some fascinating animal or another. 3.1 mile loop with a mix of mulch, paved, and dirt paths.

Pizza restaurant
Two Brothers Pizzeria of Midtown is an unadorned establishment that offers a variety of counter-serve pizzas and slices, as well as subs, burgers, and pasta. The service is exceptional, with friendly and helpful staff members. The restaurant is clean and provides an abundance of options for customers to choose from. One particular highlight is the delicious fettuccine Alfredo, which is made fresh onsite.
I had the pleasure of dining here. As a food enthusiast, I'm always eager to discover new culinary gems. This establishment certainly exceeded my expectations. The menu boasts an impressive array of dishes crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each bite was a testament to the kitchen's dedication to flavor and presentation. The exceptional service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive, friendly, and ensured a seamless dining experience. With its outstanding cuisine and impeccable service, I highly recommend to anyone seeking a truly satisfying dining experience.

The pizza was delicious and made with quality ingredients. The cake was frozen... and STILL delicious 😋 😜 Thanks, guys! Inside there is seating room but probably not enough for really large groups. I park a block down to keep from paying the parking.

We are on vacation from ND and took a chance on a pizza place…they definitely did NOT disappoint! This is some of the best pizza I have ever had. The staff was also super friendly and we were greeted with a smile!

I usually just grab a slice or two and that’s it. Today I gave the baked ziti with meatballs a try and glad I did. Came with a nice side salad and bread. The burger was also amazingly delicious. Simply classic done right, I added bacon to mine. They make the breads they use fresh daily and it’s obviously a game changer for any sandwich you try. Just look at the photo attached. I have also tried the salad with grilled chicken added. Also really good.

Two Brothers Pizzeria is a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel so welcomed with their warm and friendly service. The customer service was top-notch, and you can tell they really care about their guests. And the pizza? Absolutely incredible – some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I’ll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommend!
Nitz M — Google review
These folks never miss. The customer service and atmosphere alone is always awesome. But the food is *always* so perfectly made and absolutely delicious. I can't recommend the garlic knots enough, they're soft and fluffy with the perfect amount of garlic and I can never get enough of the marinara that comes with them. The cheesesteaks are also high on my list of favorites, but truly everything on their menu regardless of what you're in the mood for, is absolutely worth the trip in! 10/10 each and every time!

Bistro
This stylish and contemporary establishment, located in a converted Victorian house, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. With its European-inspired cuisine that changes with the seasons, this bistro provides a delightful dining experience. Whether you're looking for a relaxing brunch or an enjoyable evening dinner, this trendy spot is perfect. The extensive wine selection caters to all budgets and complements the delectable food options. Happy hour is available until 7pm, featuring discounted drinks and appetizers.
Driving down from the finger lakes to Baltimore we wanter a dinner stop in Harrisburg and found "Note" using Google maps. It was set in a quiet residential area northwest of downtown with nice outdoor seating. In the late afternoon there was shade to be had and we enjoyed a delicious cocktail followed by a wonderful dinner at sunset. On street parking was available a short walk away. There were some families with small kids outside with us and all were enjoying themselves trying the different foodie tastes. The mussels and scallops were especially good.
Don M — Google review
I just had my birthday dinner at note.bistro & winebar. The atmosphere was fun, warm, and inviting. Everyone was super welcoming, and our server was excellent. She helped us decide on a wine (all options were amazing). There are so many gluten-free options, which is a big bonus for me! For dinner, my scallops were perfect. Everything we tried was exceptional! I loved the note pad where people could share their experiences! Definitely a must go!

We had an amazing meal from start to finish. Appetizers, cocktails, entrees and dessert. Stuffed trout with crabmeat and the duck entree. Excellent service within an elegant old home. If you can and are not eating here once a month, then shame on you for not supporting this fine establishment. Cheers

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This is a small, cozy and local restaurant. It feels like sitting in someones living room. Make reservations! The food was excellent and the service was amazing. Emailed Ruth for reservations and she was very responsive even though I missed my original reservation, (sorry Ruth). It was pricey but definitely worth it. Great for a date night. No complaints about my experience! I will come again! Something different that made this place stand out, when they bring you the check it’s in a little notebook and you can weite a nice message about your experience. Nice touch. I guess that’s why they call it “Note”.
Ymerej H — Google review
If you enjoy mussels, you must try Note's amazing mussels appetizer (the best I've ever had)! Also, Chef Stevie outdid herself with our entrees. My husband can't stop talking about his marinated portobello dish! Even though we live two hours away, we can't wait to dine at Note again!
Kris A — Google review
Their Crispy Bravo Potatoes is the best! Love the drinks and atmosphere there! Very tiny but neat spot, very french and delicious! Please make reservations, they have limited space availability

A Google search of Harrisburg's best restaurants led us to Note Bistro and Wine Bar. Our phone call from I-78 about 45 minutes away on a Friday evening was warmly received. The host on the phone gladly took our name. We arrive and we've found a lively yet romantically lit space. Our high top table was perfect. The wine and cocktail lists were concise and very well curated. The menu offered a range of small and full sized plates, enough variety for any palate. Our server was attentive and accommodating of our low carb requests. We found the experience delightful. Having not been to Harrisburg before, it makes me want to return to see what else Pennsylvania's capital city has to offer. When we are next in town we'll be sure to visit Note again.
Ray B — Google review
Made a reservation for Sunday brunch. When I showed up, they didn’t even care and said we could sit wherever and pointed in the direction of two 4-tops. We were about to sit at one of those when she said that she meant one of the smaller tables (for 2) just in case larger parties came in. So we moved to one of those. Turns out, those tables were never filled until right before we walked out the door, so that was off putting. The food was very good although the portion size for the chocolate ganache crepe seemed very disproportionate to the price. The bathroom is down the stairs into the basement. A bit dungeony.

Restaurant
Front Street Diner is a 24/7 eatery offering a wide range of options, including all-day breakfast, seafood dishes, and classic American favorites. Visitors have praised the quick seating and fantastic service provided by the friendly staff. While some diners enjoyed the hot and delicious food, others found certain dishes to be lacking in flavor. Despite mixed reviews on the food, many appreciate the diner's inviting atmosphere and excellent service that made their dining experience memorable.
Stopped here while passing through to Williamsport. Great food. Excellent service. No frills. Just a good old fashioned diner. Recommend
Jon P — Google review
Disappointed! The food didn't impress & wasn't very good. Highly lacking in flavor. The mashed potatoes were clearly not homemade & what taste they had didn't taste good. Both mashed potatoes & potato filling were not good. The "homemade" bread was a roll that became as hard as a rock shortly after being served. The beef tips with aujus is just roast beef with beef flavored water. I've had better aujus even at chain restaurants. The roast turkey my mom got had very little roast turkey compared to other places we've been.
Bri S — Google review
Sweet waitresses, comfortable atmosphere and great breakfast. I've been coming here for years. One of my regular breakfast: corn beef hash(well done), easy-over eggs and potatoes. 😋
Hector C — Google review
The Front Street Diner is an excellent and convenient option for late-night dining, especially since I have painters at my home who finished late to complete the job. Rebecca, our server, accommodated us nicely with the right amount of attention and service. I opted for comfort food: a cup of chili soup and a grilled cheese sandwich, accompanied by a cup of green tea.
Eugenia H — Google review
I am putting 2 star based on my experience on 10/11 but if I could give a rating to just the server Brianna I would give a 5 star. Brianna was very friendly and attentive which made the experience good. There was small accident that the server handled professionally, but I was disappointed to see the manager or whoever was in charge respond rudely and not offer any support. The server still did a great job managing the situation.

Excellent service and food both times I visited this past weekend. I had to travel to the area for work and after reading reviews and seeing pictures I was excited to try it. My only regret is I was only able to go 2 of my 3 mornings in the area for breakfast. I believe my server was Chris or Christina? Top notch and remembered my hot sauce and unsweetened ice tea after my first visit. I will definitely be back my next trip to the area and can't wait to try lunch or dinner!

This was our 4th time here so I felt I needed to update my 1st review 10 months ago when we had breakfast. At that time,we found the diner was clean and dividers between each booth. We were seated promptly, and our server came directly to our table for our drink order. I had a mushroom omelet with cheddar cheese (an additional charge) home fries and raisin toast. This is the only diner we've been to that serves raisin toast. My partner had eggs, bacon, and toast. Everything was quickly served and ordered. Good coffee. Daily specials. Breakfast served all day. This time, my Turkey was dry and the gravy was bland and had no taste of turkey. My partner had one of their specials...Hamburger macaroni, which he said was very good. Portion was good. Our service was excellent and order served promptly.

Alvaro Bread & Pastry Shoppe is a beloved family-run bakery and cafe in Harrisburg, PA. It's renowned for its authentic Italian flavors, offering a wide range of housemade baked goods, breads, pasta, and hot Italian entrees. The shop's Old World recipes and imported ingredients come together to create flavorful Italian treats. Located in the charming Olde Uptown area, it's a popular spot that offers gelato and more.
I’ve been an Alvero customer since my kids (now in their 20s) were little. We’d stop by on Saturday mornings for delicious Italian cookies by the pound. Now I go for their salads and sandwiches, all of which are so tasty. Of course, I still have to pick up a few cookies while I’m there.

Quaint little place on Green and Peffer in Harrisburg PA! My son took me for brunch 😋 and he goes so often they named a sandwich after him! 😄 Delicious Omelets and Canolli
Lisa S — Google review
My wife and I had lunch here. We tried a sampling of all the small pastries, a cannoli and a blueberry Danish. I also tried a slice of their meat lovers pizza. Everything is made fresh daily and anything left over is donated locally. The pizza was incredible - as you'd expect from a bread/pastry place perhaps, the crust was so delicious and the sauce and toppings were a great compliment to the bread. It was amazing how each of the pastries had unique flavors and textures - some were sweet, some more savory, chocolate, coconut, various jellies and fillings. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The small indoor dining area is complemented by an outdoor area. It's not a busy section of town and we were able to find street parking easy enough, although after having been there, I'd walk a few blocks if needed next time!

I visit here occasionally and every time it is amazingly delicious. Their sandwiches are priced well and the portions are generous. Perfect place for a lunch date. I highly recommend.

The line is long during lunch hour so it's not comfortable to eat indoors with so many people standing so close unless you can get seat near the window or outside. There is no wait service, they have bottled sodas to purchase, and plastic utensils. I didn't like the pizza, which tasted tough. Husband's penne with sausage was delicious, but it seemed like small portions. Didn't take photos because we were famished when we got home. Husband was disappointed to see small portions. Son's ravioli with chicken parm looked plentiful. We went today to get cookies for $11 lb. We ate 6 cookies before I took photo. They are to die for on a cold fall night with hot tea and coffee. We missed out on the rainbow cookies, which sold out in the morning. Those are the perfect Christmas cookies. We will be back. We live in Linglestown so we'll be eating at the Front St location when it opens.

Day 2

East side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the east side side of town. Start the day off with Harrisburg Mall, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Chuck E. Cheese. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Harrisburg Mall, originally known as Harrisburg East Mall, has been a bustling shopping destination since 1969. With over 70 retailers spread across two floors and more than 1 million square feet of retail space, it is the largest mall in the Harrisburg area. Anchored by Bass Pro Shops, the mall also features popular stores like Macy's and various smaller chain retailers.
The food is OK the drinks are good and the service is decent and the prices are pretty good as well. I always go with the most simple option on the menu wings fries or even a salad. It’s not always the freshest food and the taste could be better but for the price I guess you it’s ok. It’s very busy so the waiter was not as attentive and it makes sense considering the time of the day as well. For the price, atmosphere ,service and quality of food I would definitely recommend another place.

This is a review about ‘FOOD COURT’ inside of HARRISBURG MALL. Now there, I stand back looking over the mini restaurants and what they are providing. I see several food providers, CHINA MAX, SUBWAY, CHECKERS & TOCO BELL. I chose TOCO BELL because I have not eaten anything from them in awhile. I ordered a SALAD…feeling guilty and hoping no one recognizes me from my usual glutton. The salad is made up of BLACK BEANS, TOMATOES, CHEESE, LETTUCE, BEEF STRIPS, RICE, DRESSING & that hot green stuff I cannot pronounce. I enjoyed the salad…thank you TOCO BELL!

Clean mall but there are more stores closed than open. There are NO department stores. Bass Pro is OPEN but you need to enter it on the north side. And can't get to it from inside the mall.

It's an ok mall. It has a few stores not to many. Victoria secret, footlocker, kids footlocker, and the movie theater are the major places in this mall. There is a nail salon but from my option they are over priced. The movie theater is great. I love going there when new movies come out. There are also some major cellphone companies in here if you are looking for a new phone or a company to switch to. There is a food court located at the top level where the movie theater is.

Appalachian Brewing Company is a historic brewery located in downtown Harrisburg, offering housemade beers and craft sodas alongside casual bites like burgers. Established in 1997, it's the first and only brewery to open in the capital since prohibition times. The brewery provides tours and tastings at its atmospheric brewpub, with the original location offering free tours every Saturday afternoon that include complimentary beer and soda samples.
Great bar and food. Lots of space and interesting people. Wide selection of locally brewed beer. There is a large parking lot.

Absolutely loved this place. Michael provided a warm welcome and great guidance on the beers available. Had 2 local IPAs. One of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever eaten. The type of place you would love to live close to. Lots of regulars at the bar. Was a very happy Irishman leaving.

Great lunch experience here. Bartender was super helpful and friendly. Chicken Caesar salad was great. Beers were solid - the Sigma Oasis was my favorite. First brewery ever to give me a tiny ginger beer glass to “cleanse the palate” between beers. I dig the design of the taster glasses too. Only negative is that it seemed a little sketchy walking here from downtown in mid-afternoon. Wouldn’t do it alone at night, even as a relatively large adult male.

I came here late one night for a bite to eat while on a business trip. Really enjoyed the character of the building and the atmosphere inside. The drinks and food, especially my burger, was awesome! The sauce that came with the fries was super good too! Highly recommend visiting here if you have not been.

Great place for lunch or a quick beer when in the PA capital city. Spacious interior, pleasant atmosphere and tasty, reasonably priced food make this a great spot to take friends and family. Not as many beer offerings as many of the other local breweries and most of those are IPAs but what they do offer are fresh and delicious. Definitely would return.

Great service, fabulous food and friendly staff. I strongly recommend the Mile High Meatloaf, Pierogies and the Elephant Ear Dessert. My only dislike is the diet soda, the taste of stevia is a bit strong.

Awesome spot. They have great selection of locally brewed beer and I think they also have a distillery there so you can order cocktails with their rum, vodka, bourbon, etc. I’ve ordered sour beer, and my wife had Scottish ale. Both were good. We also had The Original Harrisburger and Rockfish Tacos. Pretty tasty although I would’ve included some additional ingredients in the tacos. We also had maple bacon cheesecake for dessert. I know it sounds like a weird combination but it was yummy! Staff was very nice and welcoming.

The museum features manuscripts, photographs, documents, artifacts, and military equipment used during the war. Great visit, very friendly staff, clean, beautiful grounds and informative exhibits that have a chronological and fulsome history. Especially enjoyed the "War of firsts" tidbits throughout. Could spend between 20 mins and 3++ hours inside depending how much you wish to read. Also had a nice nook with plenty of books to enjoy if you want to spend longer.

Great exhibits, perfect place to start learning about the acw or to introduce someone to it. Good overview that includes the Western Front as well (rare) though lacking info on overall civilian experience, there is a lot about slavery, emancipation, usct, and Black experience at the time. Beautiful view outside!

It's a great American story; what President Abraham Lincoln did is admirable. Unlike today's administration, which wants to feel like a hero just by talking and giving orders.

A great experience but a bit pricey at $17 for seniors. Quality artifacts and well displayed information. Very cold (bring your sweater) and narratives can make it difficult to read. Highly recommend.

An impressive and very well-organized museum. The collection is extensive and covers both the Union and the Confederacy’s perspectives, making it balanced and informative. The exhibits are clearly presented, with original artifacts, documents, and audiovisual displays that bring the era to life. The staff is friendly and always willing to answer questions. A must-visit for anyone interested in history.

We had my son's birthday party there yesterday and I can't thank them enough! We booked a 10 am party and we had the entire party table section to ourselves. The young lady who ran it was so helpful and nice! And the young man who is the mouse was amazing! All the parents and kids had so much fun. I have not one bad thing to say! I know next year, I'm going to try to talk my son to having it here again because everything was taken care of! Will definitely be back!!

I have heard and read that this Chuck E. Cheese location has been open for a very long time, and I will say that there aren't many signs of its age. The interior is modernized, and it looked surprisingly clean. Of course, this is a children's facility, and it appeared to be very child friendly. There was even a kids birthday party going on when I stopped by, and it looked like they were having fun! Of course, there is a mild odor, as children have their shoes off and they are using the play areas. The salad bar looked very clean, and there was an employee standing at the entrance greeting people and making sure children don't run off. From my brief observation, this place looked a lot better than my previous experiences with this company.
JATB — Google review
Mainly went here for the arcade. The place itself is not bad. But lot of the arcade machines and games seem very outdated. Some are out of service and doesn't work. We normally get one card for 45 mins and share it among the kids for the time. I don't think the other options are worth it as the tickets you get is very little compared to other arcade locations we have gone to. I would suggest them to get some new games. I also compare it to Dave&Busters where we usually goes to on Wednesdays.
Ammar G — Google review
Visited thus particular chuck e cheese on a Saturday evening. Been here several times before but this time it was very not enjoyable. The "down to clown" game had 90% of the balls stolen by some child that left the facility so the game became impossible to accomplish. Many of the other games were equally in need of service because the electronics were not very responsive or registered a false activation. Very frustrating if you're trying to optimize game play for your child's tickets. Every skeeball machine was missing several balls and didn't register appropriately when you scored. Bottom line, none of the games that are worth playing for value optimization were functional. Had to settle for 5 tickets or less per game play no matter what you played. Not gonna comment on the food as we didn't order anything but regarding cleanliness, the staff didn't clean up after patrons or patrons didn't clean up after themselves so most table seating was dirty with leftover pizza platters. Not sure if they were understaffed or if this is typical for a Saturday but very disappointed. Will not be going back unless they fix these fairly major problems.
David B — Google review
We had a really fun time they moved a lot of the arcade games around. They have a new activity center with slides and trampolines. It is a little upsetting that you have to pay extra for that but I also understand given that they have to somehow keep track of the kids in there and for safety purposes. Some of their prices especially for the food is a little too high and kind of small for how much you're paying. Also the prizes are really high in tickets which is extremely hard to get considering that you can only get like a Max of 50 tickets for some of the games that you play. But my son loves it and we are going to have a birthday party so I'm hoping the birthday party is more worse the prices then just going for one time.

First time being here during a weekday around 3pm. Pros: The place wasn’t crowded and spaced out comfortably. I enjoyed how the games for toddlers were separate from those for older kids/adults. I enjoyed the convenience of ordering food through an app from our table and the pizza was good. The facility was extremely clean and well organized. Cons: We ended up waiting longer than we should have for our food. I had to track help down after 10mins of our pizza being late and there was confusion about where our food was and why it hadn’t came out. The pizza was small even though it was supposed to be a medium and it was expensive. My suggestion, make sure you eat before you go! The games seemed to last longer than the other C.C we were used to going to. The only issue i found was that our points were being taken faster. It was like some games zapped more points than others and i found it incredibly difficult to win tokens for my toddler even when he hit most targets. I’m not sure if this has been noticed by others. I’m basing my experience from another Pennsylvania C.C that we’ve been to 3 times in comparison to our first time here. The price for submitted tokens is incredibly expensive for the items. A tootsy-roll was over 100 tokens! These C.E.C prices food tickets, food and token prizes has gotten way out of control. Conclusion: Will i visit this establishment again? Most likely because of our toddler and i suggest going during the week.

Pizza restaurant
Naples Pizza is a modest strip-mall establishment renowned for its delectable sausage rolls. Additionally, they offer an impressive selection of specialty pies, salads, and subs. This joint upholds the enduring traditions established by their parents in Steelton on Front Street. Their pizza and subs are unparalleled in taste and quality, making it a must-visit destination whenever one finds themselves in the Harrisburg/Steelton area.
Best Pizza in Town! A Must-Try Experience I recently had the pleasure of dining at Naples and I can confidently say it’s the best pizza place I’ve visited in a long time. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm, inviting atmosphere and the friendly staff who are eager to make your experience memorable. The pizza here is simply outstanding. The crust is perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of chewiness. The sauce is rich and flavorful, with a hint of sweetness that complements the toppings beautifully. Speaking of toppings, the variety is impressive—whether you’re a fan of classic combinations or more adventurous flavors, there’s something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the Pizza which was loaded with fresh, high-quality ingredients that made each bite a delight. What really sets Naples apart, though, is their commitment to quality. You can tell they use only the freshest ingredients, and everything is made with care. The cheese is gooey and melts perfectly, the meats are flavorful, and the vegetables are crisp and fresh. Every pizza is a work of art. Beyond the food, the service is top-notch. The staff are not only friendly but also knowledgeable about the menu. They’re more than happy to offer recommendations and accommodate special requests, ensuring that every customer leaves satisfied. The atmosphere is also worth mentioning—cozy and comfortable, it’s the perfect place for a casual meal with family or friends. Whether you’re dining in or taking out from the person making the pizza asking me if I need plates or from the person making the best sub ever or from the girl behind that counter friendly as soon as you walk in I’m not sure what all the negative reviews are about this place is definitely the spot.

Use to be a consistent customer. Prices are expected to rise due to the economy. However, for 10 wings $16 and onion rings $10. This is outrageous. 10 wings is like 5 since their cut in half. I can buy a box of hot wings at Restaurant Depot, fry them myself for $60. This would give me 10 pounds of wings. For 2 people $53 for order. Won't be going back.

We’re traveling and going to Hershey park and just got to town. Wanted some pizza, was around 9pm Monday night, new to town. We judged our pizza place by how many people were in the restaurant and were the employees busy. Drove by 3 places, first 2 no one in there and the employees were doing nothing. Naples pizza had 2 people eating and the employees were actually working!!! Glad we stopped!! Pizza was great New York style, sauce was delicious, crust was tasty!!! Great job!! We ordered the margarita pizza and I got a slice of pepperoni (he gave me one slice for free too since it was late).

My experience with the food is always good. The lady that works the front could have a much better attitude. In my personal opinion the way she handled servicing me was discriminatory. Totally bypassed me who was waiting to take the order of 4 other Caucasian people, although I was there before them. When returning my change put the money down on the counter instead of in my hand. She simply needs to do better. Again the food was good … the service not so much.
Tamika S — Google review
Barely any meat on this Italian sub. Ordered through Ubereats. I called about it and the lady on the phone was very sweet but the guy in the background who makes the subs seemed a little hostile. If you’re looking for bread and onion with a little meat on the side I would suggest this place! I only ordered from them because south Philly is closed on Sundays. Do better man! Two subs ordered… what a waste
Agent 2 — Google review
I really like their pizza and hot subs. Prices are a little high but you have to pay a premium for a premium product I suppose. If they dropped the price of their toppings, for pizza, it would be much more reasonable. + $2.00 for onions is a bit steep, IMO.
Christopher S — Google review
I had the baked Ziti with sausage and after the second bite I was really happy I came here for food. My wife had the cheese fries and a hoagie and my son devoured his peparoni pizza. This place was a good find for sure

Grabbed a slice and split a cheesesteak sub and fries. I was happy with the pizza and fries but the cheese steak was terrible! The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant chain that offers heated pots of cheese, chocolate, or broth for dipping and cooking. It provides a unique dining experience where customers can cook their own food. The four-course meal for two is highly recommended, with each course prepared perfectly. The staff, particularly waitress Emilee, provides helpful tips and tricks to enhance the dining experience. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, the quality of food and the overall experience make it worth it.
Tried this place out for the first time. Was immediately greeted by very friendly staff. Cameron was our server. What a great guy. Kept the drinks full, and was very consistent in his service. Funny and carry’s himself well. 10/10 service from Cameron. We also met Tim who spoke highly of the food and made great recommendations. Both gentlemen were a pleasure and the Melting Pot is lucky to have them. The food was enjoyable. I went in thinking I would not enjoy this style of dining and was very surprised. Cheesesteak restaurant
Philadelphia Steaks & Hoagies is a popular spot known for its really good cheese steak sandwiches. The roll, the flavor of the steak, provolone, and grilled onions make for an excellent combination. The crinkle cut fries are crispy and delicious. The number 1 combo is great value for money. They offer cherry coke on tap and Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer which is a tasty take on root beer. The brick and wood decor adds to the old charm of the storefront.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Looking to eat a genuine philly? Look no further! This is your spot right here! The bread was soft, meat was tender just enough cheese whiz so it doesn't over power the other flavors! Hot and fresh! The onion rings where crispy and delicious as well. I tried the cherry pepper for the first time and it was good and went well with the philly. The pepper is slightly spicy but sweet at the same time. The spice level would be a 1 maybe a 2 put of 10. I got there about 40 minutes before they closed so it was empty besides one other person but left shortly after. It was quite and peaceful but I can imagine the rush during lunch. It is in an old building so it has that wonderful look and feel. Check this place out!

This place is a fixture for the local community near Paxtang Avenue. Incredibly cozy, feels a lot like home. Its rare to find a bar as intimate and authentic as the Grill these days. Had a really good salad, and the fries were very fresh. Drinks were definitely good but we could barely tell they had any alcohol in them. Definitely would ask for a double shot in them next time. They were having some kind of trivia night which seemed to have a decent number of participants, and I overheard there's karaoke on saturdays.

Place has an awesome atmosphere. Bar is classic with a good many beers on tap. I got wings and they warned me they were small; and they were small. Fine quantity wise for me but smaller wings can be dry quick. Wife didn't love the crab cakes (dry). My cousin says they have the best boneless in the area tho. There are so many things on the menu that we'll try again in the future. Service was great.

Wanted to love it! Husband and I stopped out a few years back and had a great experience. Was warned about the wings and food was great first time around. Unfortunately not this time. Potatoe wedges and spicy ranch were delicious, hot, and crispy. Wings this time were cold. Husband steak was so tough the table shook when he tried to cut it. Our waitress was great and did take it off our bill. Atmosphere was great, Cosmo was great, prices were great, just food quality was a miss this time! Might be back for drinks and apps.

Paxtang Grill was conveniently located near my hotel and received high rankings. Turns out it was trivia night so the place was packed. My server had a lot of tables so that is why only 4 stars for service. She was super helpful especially is choosing which steak sandwich to get. Sandwich was good not special but the portion was appropriate and the fries where crispy and hot. Price was fair. All in all a very nice choice and I will go back.

As a fellow West Shore gal, I've found myself living temporarily on the East Shore, so I've been trying out new restaurants. Paxtang Grill was absolutely banging. The bartenders Lynn & Kristen were nothing but friendly & efficient. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming walking into a new spot by yourself, but their auras made me feel more than welcomed. I also definitely recommend the Pittsburgh Steak Salad with spicy ranch! Will be back, friends!

One of my very favorite local hangouts. Great food and great service. Lynn is a real gem as a bartender and waitress. We love coming here when in the ‘burg. The steak special can’t be beat.

Shopping
Colonial Park Mall offers a diverse selection of 70 stores and well-known brands, along with various dining options and a cinema. This enclosed retail center is situated on one level and boasts an array of shops, eateries, and even a movie theater where you can catch the latest flicks. While some areas may benefit from renovations such as chair upgrades and carpet sanitization for a fresh appearance and scent, overall the mall provides a tranquil atmosphere.
Not completely dead! It’s still going. It’s a secret hangout hide away! A great place to still connect with the community, different generations, had a wonderful time just exploring all the fun stores and kiosks, meeting staff and families. Certainly is very charming. Even had a great Japanese take out restaurant
Deepa R — Google review
I can only give this place 1 star due to how dead it is. It was so gloomy and eerie inside this mall. Kohan kills every mall they touch. Hopefully this mall can get some new owners and can be repurposed. This mall is located right near Harrisburg and Hershey/Hershey Park so it deserves to improve as there really isn’t much to do around the area. I would love for this place to stay as a mall, it just needs new owners and its vacant spaces filled.
Chris — Google review
I remember this mall being so busy and always full. For almost 10 years before we moved up here from another state, we would frequently come up and visit family. We would always go here. Now it's almost empty and only one restaurant/ food facility left. That was the reason I was there. The Osaka teriyaki max is a favorite place of my family to eat at. I'm so thankful that they are still there. All of the other places we would visit are now gone. To me it's very sad seeing this. I so hope that they can rebuild it. I will say that the area I was at was well maintained and clean.

This was a visit to Longhorn Steakhouse. The Colonial Park Mall looks to be almost closed. The Bon Ton and Sears are long gone.
Curt — Google review
This mall looks like is closing down. I only went there for the food court and only one place was open. Crazy
T — Google review
This Mall is very unique. A movie theater that you can enjoy right next to a food court. The Sears is closing in November so that’s definitely a big hit to this mall. Originally this mall was a open air center with you guessed it Sears. The mall still has Boscov’s. Maybe a Target or something good can fill the empty space.
Manny Q — Google review
Sad, ghost town, it seems over half the mall is vacant, hardly any shoppers. Some nice real foilage through out, clean stores and halls.
Beth — Google review
This is definitely my favorite mall. It has so many shops with low prices, except shops like the shoe stores, and great food. The picture is one I found of a family at that mall for Halloween, they give candy like in trick-or-treat at the mall.

Reserved a pavilion for a party. Went well. We were able to bring our own catered food, but they also had a BBQ food truck onsite that my guests could try. Drinks were great esp the Lavender Lemonade. Kids were able to play nearby as well. Would reserve again.

They don't allow outside food which is fine but only ever have only 1 food truck with 10 to 15 plus in line which moves very slow. Tip, eat before you go.

Some family and i came for the Fall Fest this past Saturday but we weren’t impressed, sadly. For starters, we got there at 4pm and there were no vendors left. We ordered drinks and bought wine but the one single gentleman was overwhelmed at the counter while others were polishing glasses rather than helping, so it took a while. Lastly, we thought it might be nice to sit out at a fire pit, so we asked the bartender in the brewery to light one for us and it turns out the only 2 open fire pits did not have any propane in them. If you organize a “Fall Fest” on a cold weekend, probably want to make sure all fire pits are operational. Never ran into these issues when it was Spring Gate and i hope things get better honestly.

What a wonderful hidden gem! I just spent the day at this place and it could have been a day in Napa or Bordeaux. A wide variety of spaces to sit out in the sun or under the shade trees. A wide variety of wines and drinks to choose from. A wide variety of food trucks to choose from. I could spend the summer just hanging out listening to music. Thanks to the owners for creating this relaxing space.

It would have been nice to know they stopped serving wine flights after 5pm. But the cider we had was delicious the pumpkin spice warm. Chefs kiss that was delicious and I can't wait to try the sticky bun! Stop on out and check this place out. They also had a food truck that was Tacos and come check them out too!!

We came here for the strawberry festival. This winery is very beautiful, it's on a large bit of land with multiple outdoor sitting area and fireplaces. There is a tasting room inside. The facilities were clean and the staff friendly. I wish the girl I spoke too was a little more knowledgeable about the wine selection. There were three delicious food trucks and a few live bands, it was a nice evening. At night they have cute lights throughout the winery as well. The parking situation was a bit rough getting in and out of when crowded for the event as parking was limited.
Alli — Google review
Generally an overall nice place very large seem like a lot of stuff to do many different drinks and wines available. I went on a Saturday afternoon unfortunately it was a rainy one. The place had a lot of signs and rules, probably because people drink and get in trouble. Staff were not rude but not friendly I felt like I was an inconvenience every time I ordered something. They had bands and food trucks.

City park
Park
Reservoir Park in Harrisburg has been a public green space for over 150 years, offering various amenities such as basketball and tennis courts, a playground, and a vast lawn. The park is also home to the National Civil War Museum, situated at the city's highest point with stunning views. Visitors can explore the Walk of Valor, adorned with red bricks symbolizing the sacrifices made during the Civil War.
I stopped by this park because I ran into the guy who built it a few weeks back, I think his name was Johannes. It's a pretty cool park with interesting statues. You could see the state Capitol from here.
Salaadino — Google review
A beautiful garden area with many perennials and vegetables and berry bushes. We really enjoyed walking through the garden and looking at some of the interesting ways of displaying the plants. Given that this is a public space in Knoxville, it would be really nice to have a few water fountains installed.

Really nice park. Fun features. Fun for many ages. I could anticipate some struggles with older/senior adults, but our kids enjoyed all the slides and climbing apparatus (so did the adults). Game was a fun concept. We went on a HOT day, minimal shade at the slide area.

We had a good time at this place when they had an event going on. I had so much fun!
Danalynn T — Google review
Went here with @pennsylvaniakid. It was a very cool park and loved the chutes and ladders concept. It is definitely steep so some staircases would be nice to make it easier to get up and down. I would also recommend having a trash can or two closer to the playground because while there were some around, there seemed to be quite a bit of trash left by people who didn't want to walk over to the trash cans.
Chelsea H — Google review
It was very pretty, but there were lots of loud teenagers, and a boy popping wheelies on a dirt bike driving fast all around the park. There is a beautiful area at the top of the hill where there are flowers, shrubs, and statues... but again that area was full of teenagers. There is a band shell that was also full of teenagers yelling while their voices echoed in the band shell. Hard to walk the dogs because they were so distracted, so we walked all the way to the very top of the hill where a large scary man was sitting in the woods on a stump holding his head in his heads. I am from Florida and this just seems like kind of a rough neighborhood? Based on what we observed. A little scary at dusk.
Amanda J — Google review
We stayed at the RV Park for a few days. If you can, arrive in daylight. The sites are in the back of the park after you drive past a bunch of stuff. The office is a large building (for an check in office) on the right shortly after passing the water park. Stop there for a map and instructions. No water or sewer. We had 50 Amp electric. The call it 220 volt, but it is standard RV 50 Amp on two 110 legs. They also call it "full electric" which had me wondering if other places offer partial electric! Metro is just a short drive. Parking garage is a mess! Very confusing. Cost was about 5 bucks for the day. We bought metro cards at the station, but we would still be there trying to figure out the purchase machine if a staff member didn't feel sorry for the old dummies and push the correct buttons. Next time I would set up my phone to pay at the turnstile since it seems to be set up so you buy you fare ahead of time but you better know where you want to get on and off. We tend to fly by the seat of our pants and thought about changing our departure station, but we were concerned that the system might crash if we did! Back to the RV Park: We would definitely return to explore DC (with more time) next chance we get.

Great park to bring your little ones too. Something for everyone from 4 Basketball courts, swings, slides, walking trails, the war museum, a pavilion you can rent for events, grills for cookouts. Its beautiful! You have to rent the pavilion but its worth it because you get an awesome view of the park so u can chill and watch your kids at the same time.

Nestled next to the Pennsylvania State Capitol, The Forum Auditorium is a historic gem that has been captivating audiences since its dedication in 1931. This beautifully restored venue boasts an exterior of gray limestone adorned with 22 striking bronze doors featuring intricate cast figures and inspiring mottos from history. Inside, visitors are treated to exceptional acoustics that enhance every performance, whether it’s live music or stand-up comedy.
Loved our first symphony experience!! So rich, beautiful and intense. It was a frigid night but warmed us through and through with the amazing musicians. Fantastic and can't wait to do it again.

1st time there, roads are a little confusing in that area, across from the Capitol building. Found a place to park about a block away but enjoyed the pretty walk and pleasant views of architecture of this historical auditorium. Restrooms were handy on the way to comfortable seats and the stage was about level where I sat with an amazing view of the acoustic show of LIVE. The hand painted murals of an amazing galaxy with Zodiac planets, constellations, universes, entertaining inbetween songs lol. Didn't notice any food or drinks. I would definitely recommend this venue if you have patience in parking. They do have maybe 10 handicapped spots near the entrance too. Nice place
Beth — Google review
Very beautiful auditorium. My first visit. I was there for a high school graduation. Easy access to bathrooms. Stairs were not excessive. Rows did not require stepping over too many people. Only drawback was street parking and the distance walked

Very nice auditorium. Very well built, a classic structure. Parking is tricky around but ample if you pay and park. A must visit if you get the opportunity.

The Colonial Diner offers exceptional cuisine and excellent service. It is a popular choice for families, as they are known for serving the best eggs in town. The prices are reasonable, providing great value for money. The friendly waitress ensures that customers' needs are met throughout their visit. Although they occasionally run out of chocolate milk, this is understandable.
Excellent food great service. My grandchildren love coming here because they think this place has the best eggs ever and I would have to agree. We definitely got our value for the money. The waitress was incredibly friendly and kept coming to check if we needed anything. The only bad thing is they were out of chocolate milk but I understand that this happens. Also it was a better deal to get the add-on number one than to get a kid's breakfast because it had the extra egg and the hash browns. I said three people for less than $25 this is something that is not easy to do in this day and age.

Decided to stop and say Hi to one of my favorite servers Reene. Since this diner is only open from 5am to 2pm,it has been hard for us to stop. We each had an omelet....bacon omelet, cheese extra cost with homefries and toast. I had mushroom omelet, cheese extra cost with homefries and toast. I asked for lightly done homefries...did not get them done that way. Great coffee. Reene is a great server and even as busy as she was, was very attentive and friendly. Men's restroom was not very clean and the floor where we were sitting was in dire need of cleaning. There was a TV right near where we were sitting...turned up loud.. very annoying. At the checkout counter, there is a sign stating discount for cash..received no discount. Checkout person knew nothing about it.Probably will not go back.

First time back in years and will be back again! Myself, my sister, and two kids (13 and 2) came in on a Friday. The place was empty which was surprising (I remembered the diner as being packed back in the day) but the staff gave us incredibly attentive service. My neice mentioned a love of BTS and our waitress played a few songs on one of the flat screens for her. I got the Cesear salad, sis got the Eggplant Parmigiana. Both were huge! The teen got sweet and sour shrimp (she ate everything and the sauce was delicious) and the baby got fries and grilled cheese. Highly recommend and will come again!

Food was good. Floor was dirty, waitress was not very social, no manners. A little pricey but overall ok.

Went there for dinner last night got the fish and chips the fish was okay definitely a very cheap fish. The french fries we're not done they were very soft and mushy my side salad had wilted lettuce I sent it back and got the ham and bean soup which totally sucked I normally only get breakfast here and I am definitely going to stick with that. Their breakfast is always good but that is about it
Tenika L — Google review
Food was expensive fornwhat you get beside the breakfast special. The "fresh fruit salad" was sour. Must avoid
Siesta P — Google review
The service matched the food in quality, lackluster. Scrambled eggs were drenched in butter, and my group was told to seat ourselves. I was also charged nearly two dollars for a cup of coffee, which I found a bit excessive. One positive I found was that the portion sizes were fairly large and more than adequate to satiate my hunger. Overall, I would avoid this diner if presented with a better option. 11/12/21 UPDATE: No change in quality. The floors are sticky, bathrooms dirty, pepper shaker looks never to be cleaned, and I found unknown detritus in both the salt and sugar shakers. Food portions are still large, and I almost couldn't finish my order! 2/22/22 UPDATE: Still the same service as always. The one waitress that was there had to rush around to approximately 10 tables, all while the cooks were sending orders out that were incorrect.
Kyle F — Google review
Disappointed in Customer Service - ordered my turkey dinner for the special. Asked if there were additional sides from the menu listing and she said "no". Upon leaving saw the special board that had 3 additional sides. This would have been a great choice since one of the sides I ordered was not available. Mashed potatoes were very thick and lacked flavor. She NEVER came back to check on us and didn't seem to get it when we tracked her down 3 times for refills. We asked for a box leftovers that took 15 minutes to remember. We didn't get our check and was too frustrated to track her down again and just went to the cashier. My dessert for a coconut creme pie was a shock. I guess this is an alternative recipe of coconut flavor and coconut on whipped cream on a pie crust. There is no pudding for the filling. The owner told us to not tip the waitress if we thought our service was poor.

Sammy's Authentic Italian Restaurant, located in Harrisburg, PA, offers traditional Italian pastas and mains in a sophisticated dining room. The restaurant has gained recognition as one of the top Italian eateries in the area. Patrons can enjoy a warm and romantic ambiance while being served by attentive staff. Sammy’s in Harrisburg is an absolute standout and one of those rare spots. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure our experience was nothing short of excellent. What ever you order it is clearly made with care and attention to detail. It’s not just the food that sets Sammy’s it’s the vibe. Sammy’s feels like a trusted favorite that never disappoints. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates great food, exceptional service, and an all-around great dining experience in the heart of Harrisburg.

Five stars isn’t enough! From the moment I walked in, I knew this place was something special—but nothing could’ve prepared me for just how amazing the experience would be. Let’s start with the food: I ordered the Grouper for my entrée, and wow. Perfectly cooked, flaky, buttery, with just the right seasoning to let the freshness shine. Every bite was a mini vacation for my taste buds. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better—I met the flan. Creamy, silky, caramel perfection. Honestly, if they boxed it up and sold it by the dozen, I’d be their first subscriber. But here’s the real star of the show: the service. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome, like we were guests in their home rather than just diners in a restaurant. Friendly, attentive, and thoughtful without being overbearing—this is hospitality done right. And just when I was ready to roll myself home and write a love letter to the kitchen, I found out... they serve halal meats. That was the cherry on top of an already perfect evening. Highly recommend. Come for the food, stay for the service, and leave already planning your next visit.

Tried Sammy’s for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. I’ve driven past this place for a few years and always thought it looked very cute and cozy. It definitely lived up to the expectations. The food was amazing from the red pepper and mozzerella appetizer, to the lobster bisque and the star of the show, the pasta dishes. Fresh bread at the table with oil to dip in. It’s BYOB which is honestly nice to save some money. The service was very friendly. Overall would highly recommend. Sammy surprised us with a dessert for our anniversary. They definitely made the night special and memorable.

Have wanted to try Sammy’s for years and the hubby and I finally went. We called to make a reservation and the person who answered was more than accommodating. We arrived a few minutes early and waited while they cleared a table for us. There were only two tables that weren’t occupied. The space is smaller and the tables are closer together but somehow once you sit down you don’t feel like you are sitting on top of others and you still feel like you are having dinner privately. Only two servers to work the room but they handle it very well especially considering they do it all including the clearing and setting of tables. Erin, our server had the bottle of wine I brought open and on the table before I even realized it (pro). We ordered the Roasted peppers/fresh mozzarella and the antipasti appetizers and both are good however the roasted pepper app was excellent. Menu has plenty of options and all dinners come with bread and salad. The salad first appears to be nothing special until you taste the dressing! It was a house balsamic and it was fantastic. The scallops I ordered were seared and blackened to PERFECTION. My husband’s shrimp were tender, the best sautéed shrimp I’ve had in quite awhile. Both of our dishes were simpler in presentation, served over angel hair which was ideally prepared, not overcooked. The flan for dessert was probably the best I’ve had. Even sent a photo to my daughter in Chicago who is a foodie and she commented “oooohhh, that’s falling apart perfectly”- If you haven’t tried Sammy’s you should! Just don’t forget your own bottle of wine or whatever spirits you enjoy….it’s BYOB.

The food is always amazing. I have yet to eat anything that I didn't really enjoy. The ambiance and the old preserved atmosphere, small closeness is something that is rare. . I treasure that feeling when I enter Sammy's. So thanks to Sammy, we have maintain some of the old Coveted ways of socializing and eating with our friends/families. Sammy's has a has a knack at making any dinning group feel right at home, the "OLD" way. All age groups seem to be quite comfortable with the setup and the closeness, so thank you Sammy. My wife and I came to Sammy’s after a quick google search for restaurants!! Sammy’s is by far the most delicious authentic Italian restaurant I’ve been too!! My great grandmother's Italian food is second to Sammy’s!! I requested the waiter choose my dish!! This was the best choice!! We will be going back to Central NY only hoping for the chance to visit again soon!!

I recently tried Sammy's for the first time with family who traveled to Pennsylvania for a visit. Our experience at Sammy's was incredible!! Everyone left happy, full, and ready to come back for another dinner. The dinning room is small and quaint which is perfect for a small group. The service was a 10! Adam, waiting on us quickly and ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our time. We tried the steam clams, the Pasta Efagioli, and the Bruschetta. The claims were to die for, steamed to perfection in a flavorful tomato, garlic broth that had the perfect level of spice! The Bruschetta was incredible and tasted like the tomatoes had just been picked, marinated, and chilled perfectly to sit upon a slightly charred piece of Italian bread. The Pasta Efagioli was delicious and like everything that evening was brought to our table piping hot and tasty. Our dinners consisted of the Chicken Parmigiano, the Chicken Rossano, and the Lobster Ravioli. I had considered clubbing the others in my party so that I could eat their dishes too! They were all so, so good. Anyone of them would make for the perfect Italian dish and there were many more on the menu which sounded so good! The desserts did not disappoint either. We tried the Tiramisu and the Spumoni Tartufo. I cannot even begin to tell you how incredible these were. Words just will not do them justice. So, you have to get to Sammy's soon and try it out yourself. It is BYOB, so bring two or three bottles of wine to enjoy! U cannot recommend this place enough, absolutely incredible!!

if i could give this places no reviews i would. very disappointed, we just wanted something good to eat. sat down didn't get our menus until 10 minutes after we were greeted and sat. My boyfriend got the tuna came out way too over cooked. i ordered the egg plant parmigiana and it came out watery without any crisp. it was just skin with ricotta cheese shoved in it. both our dishes came out watery. the bread they served wasn't soft and was rock hard. the salad was small and clearly given from a bag. very dry lettuce. how do you mess up a salad. we go to check out our check was WAY over what we should've paid for with the horrible service and terrible food. i wouldn't step foot in this place.

Beautiful. What a gem in downtown Harrisburg. I live here since 2014 and did not even know they existed. Very attentive staff, music was amazing, just the right volume, not too loud. Beautifully presented. Amazing drinks. Food was excellent and everything was decently priced unlike other places in downtown. We WILL go here more often now! This please reminded me of those cozy hole in the wall restaurants in NYC.

the drinks & food here are the best in harrisburg. Owen is one of the best bartenders I’ve ever met - his drinks are carefully crafted & taste delicious. The food is insanely good too - go with the pasta. We love this spot and can’t wait to come back.

This is my first time dining at Carley’s Ristorante, a darling, intimate space on Locust Street in downtown Harrisburg. With plans to attend an Improv Show at The Gamut, Carley’s checked all the boxes for a delightful new experience. And a piano player was tickling the keys with familiar songs. Anna G. provided the necessary details in the menu and cocktail selections with the correct number of check-ins. The Quinoa salad with scallops was ahMaZing. Quinoa is a delicious and nutritional powerhouse grain. I must eat more of it. Parking: After 5:00 pm, the meters are free. You can even park at the assigned parking for state workers around the capital after 5:00 pm. Find a place and walk if necessary.,

Owen provided amazing service at the bar. We had an espresso martini with limoncello and it was amazing. We also split the artichoke, burrata, and smoked salmon flatbread. A true downtown Harrisburg gem.

First time there definitely won't be our last! Food was delicious, and nice atmosphere with a live singer/pianist.

Simply wow! Fantastic food, fantastic service, and fantastic ambience! Michelle was our server and we had such a great time. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her about menu options and beyond. Due to the current covid situation, Carleys is sharing a menu with Stocks on 2nd (as of 8/25). It is, however, a wonderful menu! So many lovely options for any person’s tastes! The cheese board was a highlight, and the peanut butter pie was heavenly and decadent! Can’t wait to come back and enjoy another evening of good food and splendid service!

Mexican restaurant
Chipotle Mexican Grill is a quick-service restaurant that specializes in Mexican cuisine. It provides customers with the opportunity to personalize their meals by selecting from an assortment of ingredients, such as tortillas, fillings, and toppings, allowing them to create their own burritos, tacos, or bowls. With a focus on speed and convenience, this fast-food chain offers a variety of menu options inspired by Mexican flavors.
Best service I’ve gotten at a Chipotle in almost 8 years! She was very kind and friendly. She also filled my bowl up so much that I was able to separate it across multiple days to make 3 burritos at home! Only location I’ll be going to from now on.

Honestly, this was the worst Chipotle of my life. They were out of almost everything, and the service was terrible. The guy working there was completely uninterested and looked like he was forced to do work, lol. The sitting area was dirty and looked like nobody ever tried to clean the tables. Terrible experience !

Second time every being to this location as I was out in the area for work. I tried to redeem a valid free entree reward I have but the cashier wouldn't take it, even though it is on my app. They only let me use my free double meat. Second thing is I am not asking for a big portion but I got a half scoops of every item. 1 fork full of guacamole, asked for double steak and got normal amount. Never coming back to this location again.

Food was decent. Some items came in little portions while others were a lot. The service was extremely low. Employees were busy just chatting around and didn’t care about the long line. From getting in line to checking out it took over 20 minutes while it wasn’t even that busy. Expected better!

They give you the biggest portions! I typically come in with a group that numbers 40 or more and this Chipotle staff never flinches. Gets our group through in about 20 minutes.

The young people who work here are mature beyond their years. I have seen them handle a bigoted customer in his 50s with a grace the customer did not deserve and an aplomb that few people decades older have achieved. This encounter reminded me that retail and restaurant workers are on the front lines, where they face the worst of humanity with a smile. Please show extra kindness to the service workers on whom much of our daily activities depend.

Stopped in with my family, was very excited to have a burrito. The place was so filthy we decided to leave. We couldn't find a single table that wasn't covered in food and used napkins. It was not busy inside so not sure why the staff couldn't take a moment to clean the place up.

The food is probably the worst at this location. Every time I go, their chicken is always cooked burnt/charred and too dry. I have to pick it out. It’s overly salted too. The staff that makes my burrito bowl always rushes me where I forget to add one thing to my bowl after they close the lid. The station is very messy and I see sauce or cheese in the sour cream. Management seems to be lacking here because it shows through the lack of quality control and sloppiness. I’ve complained about my recent visit on their survey and I haven’t heard back from anyone. It’s very disappointing.
