Seafood market

Nestled in the vibrant Cow Bay area of Prince Rupert, Dolly's Fish Market is a beloved local gem that promises an unforgettable seafood experience. This charming establishment offers a diverse menu featuring mouthwatering dishes like their Stuffed Halibut Cordon Bleu, which combines halibut with succulent shrimp, Dungeness crab meat, and creamy Havarti herb cheese—truly a feast for the senses!
Great little place with fresh seafood. Fish and chips were excellent! Boston chowder was ok, but not what I’m used to being from the east coast. The real star of my meal was the fried calamari. Perfectly cooked and not greasy. Flavor was excellent and I would order this again. Seating is pretty tight on the inside, so get there early. Service was decent and it was cool to see the live crabs in the adjacent market.

Stopped here after a long walk. It took time to be seated, to order food, and to receive our drinks. After a 25 minute wait, we asked for the status of our food, the manager took charge and brought our food to us immediately. The food was delicious and made fresh. The white crowder was excellent. Halibut bites were very good and the shrimp pasta was very tasty. The service was lacking, we never were checked on and the prices were a bit high. It wasn’t disappointing experience however, I would definitely try a different restaurant before going back to Dolly’s.

Horrible service. The food comes super slow with no customers. The server "disappeared " after we ordered food. Appetizer and main course came at the same time with no apology (45 min after we ordered). Ordered a full crab dinner and the crab was "dead crab", not live from the tank. Also, the carapace is missing when ordering a full crab. Way overpriced for full and half crab dinner. We would never come back. Now I understand why no one is in this restaurant even it is the first day of Seafest 2025! "Holy Crab" 😡🤬
Hermiejai L — Google review
The best Seafood spot IMHO. The rockfish burger was juicy with fantastic flavor! So is the lingcod and the crap cake! This is the place for best bang for the buck seafood in town!
Calvin S — Google review
Great casual meal with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The dungeoness crab and the poutine were really good and the service was kind and welcoming. You can also buy fresh fish next door. I would definitely eat here again.
Natalie B — Google review
Incredible food, we each had a 1 piece halibut fish and chips that was to die for! Potato salad is fresh and not over seasoned, and the French fries were cooked to perfection. Our waiter was very kind, and informative. They have local craft beers and cocktails. Their breakfast menu looks amazing, unfortunately we did not get to try! Will return.
Taylor K — Google review
Food was great. Servers were short handed, that made service long. But the worst part is the management has a great scam going; they charge you in CAD but accept USD at a 1 to 1 rate. Everyone knows the CAD is currently at about 70% less rate. Great scam for their pocket for sure.
Jerry H — Google review
We heard great things about Dolly’s so we had to stop by. This is the shoulder season so the staff went back to college. New staff learning the ropes and very slow. The halibut bites were tasty but tough. The cold smoked salmon was delicious. I heard from the other table the fish &chips were delicious. I would recommend and try them again to give another chance.

Sushi restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Opa Sushi is a top-rated restaurant in Prince Rupert, offering a blend of traditional Japanese sushi with Northwest coast influences. The restaurant takes pride in serving fresh, wild, and local seafood as the star of their unique dishes. Visitors can enjoy the stunning waterfront view while savoring the delicious sushi on Opa Sushi's patio, which has been likened to a treehouse. Customers have praised the freshness and quality of the sushi, noting that it rivals some Japanese restaurants in Vancouver.
This place is a standout star in Prince Rupert. I highly highly highly recommend! My roommate and I have been here several times and every time the staff has been so lovely and accommodating, the food is always delicious (can't go wrong with anything on the menu but the Pokè is my absolute favorite!). The seafood tastes so fresh, and coming from Vancouver, that's a huge compliment! I can't recommend this place enough, especially if you love sushi!
Amneet W — Google review
We ordered the Salmon Avo roll, Black Ninja roll, and Yam Tempura roll. All were impressively fresh, with a clean taste and a well-balanced rice-to-fish ratio. The quality of the ingredients really stood out, making for a satisfying sushi experience.

Stopped off here on Alaskan cruise, stumbled across Opa Sushi and decided to give it a try. Great atmosphere and sushi - definitely out of the way but if you have a chance you don’t want to miss this one.

Nice persons run this restaurant. Food is below average but they work hard to get the best out of this . Very basic sushi in small town. No taste of any authenticity. Yet , fresh and didn’t get sick . Sashimi is good Rolls are below average. Ok for the on the go …

Everything was fresh and delicious! Staff was so quick and friendly. There is a cool patio for the sunny days and the views are so great!

I've been going to Opa for a few years whenever in Rupert, and I always looked forward to their delicious hefty rolls. Unfortunately over the past year, perhaps it's under different management, but the rolls have become TINY. Just spent > $30 on 2 specialty rolls (which looked beautiful and bountiful on the menu of course), and this is what I got. Disappointed 😞 PS - it's interesting that all the recent reviews are 5 stars, and the restaurant reports any low-star reviews... Invitation for the owner to respond on this review.

What a pleasant surprise! Locals told me to stop by here for sushi and the restaurant did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the selection is great. Funky, cozy place with really, really delicious sushi! I can't wait for my next trip to Prince Rupert to come here again.

Opa Sushi in Prince Rupert is a culinary gem that has left a lasting impression on my taste buds. With its fusion of Japanese and Greek flavors, this restaurant offers a unique and delightful dining experience that is hard to find elsewhere. The ambiance at Opa Sushi is warm and inviting, with a cozy interior that blends modern and traditional elements. The dim lighting creates an intimate atmosphere perfect for a romantic dinner or a relaxing evening with friends. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout the meal. Now, let's talk about the food. Opa Sushi's menu is a tantalizing fusion of two seemingly unrelated cuisines, but the results are nothing short of extraordinary. Their sushi rolls are a work of art, with creative combinations that showcase the chef's skill and imagination. The "Greek Fusion Roll" is a personal favorite, combining fresh seafood with Mediterranean flavors like feta cheese and olives. The quality of the ingredients at Opa Sushi is evident in every bite. The fish is impeccably fresh, and the rice is perfectly seasoned. The attention to detail in each dish is commendable, from the delicate presentation to the harmonious blend of flavors. Vegetarians will also find plenty of options, including delicious vegetable rolls and a variety of tempura dishes. In addition to sushi, Opa Sushi offers a range of other Japanese and Greek dishes, from sashimi to moussaka. The diverse menu ensures that there's something for everyone to enjoy. The restaurant also has an impressive selection of sake and Greek wines to complement your meal. While Opa Sushi in Prince Rupert may not be the most traditional sushi restaurant, it certainly stands out as a culinary adventure worth embarking on. The combination of Japanese and Greek cuisines is a delightful surprise, and the impeccable quality of the food and service makes it a must-visit establishment for food enthusiasts in the area. Whether you're a sushi lover or simply looking for a unique dining experience, Opa Sushi is sure to leave you with a lasting impression of delicious fusion cuisine.

Pub
Breakers Pub, located near the cruise ship pier, is a fantastic establishment with an unbeatable view. Their daily special includes a $6 draft, and their appetizers are not to be missed. Despite being short-staffed, they kindly ask for patience from customers. This was not an issue for our group of six as the server made sure our pints were never empty and ensured our utmost satisfaction.
Cool location right over the bay with great views. Full bar you can pull up to for a good beer. A back room with dart boards as well as ocean view seating. We got the fish and chips and added the Manhattan chowder. The chowder was delicious and very different than the traditional chowder we usually get. The fish was thick and hot with good fresh flavors. We got the poutine fries. They were good, not the best I've had. But still good. We got the amber beer and the local Gillmeter Golden Ale.

During a port of call in Prince Rupert, we enjoyed the opportunity to enjoy a sit down and the breeze from the waterfront and wide open doors. The food was typical pub fare, but the location is what you're here for. The routine wasn't great, but the shrimp was, and they carry Coke products with free refills on soft drinks. Showed sporting events on the tvs scattered throughout the place, and it was quite busy with a cruise ship in port. The bar was also well stocked.

Unfortunately I was alone but needed a beer. Had a stanley park Pilsner. Was extremely cold and just what I needed. I wasn't going to eat as I was meeting people later for dinner, but that they had bacon wrapped scallops on the blackboard. Apparently local so how can you not. I was not disappointed, we'll actually I was. The scallops and bacon were fantastic but I almost cried to have to surrender my dish with all the beautiful drippings left. Please please give me a piece of baguette or bread to stop up this wonderful flavor. Great job Breakers.

Did not eat. But great cold IPA and a very nice staff. Lots of locals to talk to at the bar. GARY & KAREN were very knowledgeable about the area, and very kind to me.

Our party of three chose this restaurant for a light lunch during a recent visit to Prince Rupert. Although we were quickly seated and our order taken, we waited just over 45 mins to receive three plates of food. The restaurant was certainly not full at the time. Our server never gave us an update during the wait and they made no apology when the food was ultimately delivered. The halibut was tasty as was the shrimp with a side order of rice. Prices are high and portions are on the smaller side. The restaurant does overlook a marina which is a positive but not enough to compensate for the excessive kitchen delay.

We stopped in for a quick lunch at around 1230pm. The place was empty, but that didn't change a thing when it came to service and quality. Our waitress was a delight, and offered us bottled water during the boil advisory. The Manhattan clam chowder is fresh and flavorful. Calamari is fresh and incredibly tender! They have plenty of local cocktails (their Breakers Ceasar was amazing) and the views is incredible!
Taylor K — Google review
We just stopped here for a refreshing beverage. Really nice staff. I don't think they expected a cruise ship this day, so they were hustling like I've not seen! Nice walk from the ship. Lots of shops with local crafts nearby. Prince Rupert is a nice place to visit with nice folks all over town.

Ok here go! Listen I don't want to be that complaining person but I hope this is well recieved by management. Food is sub par, chef walks around puffing his chest like he is a rock star. Might want to consider concentating efforts with fresher ingredients and updated menu. The senior staff speak pourely to junior staff and it's quite degrading. I was observing the interactions between FOH and BOH staff the was unprofessional at best. Listen the place has lots of potential and I'm sure this bad review will not even fase them. Popular with tourists due to location. Just beware that they should consider cleaning their act a bunch as you are always on stage being watched. MC

Seafood restaurant
Smile's Seafood Cafe Ltd, located in Prince Rupert, is a historic restaurant that has been serving delicious seafood since 1922. The waterfront eatery offers a variety of seafood dishes, with their fish and chips being particularly popular among visitors. While some patrons have praised the quality and taste of the seafood, especially the halibut and cod, others have found the overall dining experience to be average.
This place is super busy at dinner time, but the wait for our food wasn't an issue whatsoever. The meal was delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server, I believe an owner, is a real power house. She was non-stop, ensuring everyone was taken care of, orders were brought out promptly and always pleasant to deal with. I recommend Smiles restaurant.

I had the cod fish and chips. It was very nice, light with good flavor. The fish and chips did not feel overly saturated in grease. Environment was cozy and clean. There was one person on the floor - server, cashier, order taker - she was very busy but made sure to help everyone in the restaurant. There's street parking outside the restaurant, we were able to find parking right outside.
Dwagonfwy — Google review
Located just a half a block off the cruise pier this is a small, been around a while establishment. I would call it rustic with plenty of local photographs on the walls and other memorabilia. I wish I could give the food a higher rating but shrimp and scallops are breaded and right out of the freezer into the fryer. I would expect with the availability of fresh fish that it wouldn’t be frozen deep-fried. However, the Boston clam chowder was outstanding rich and flavorful with plenty of clam. The owner, waitress, bus person, cashier was friendly, and truly hustle to get everybody taken care of. Although I didn’t have one, I saw that the hamburgers looked to be pretty good size. I would say if you’re wandering around the docks of Prince Rupert if you give it a try, just know what you’re ordering.
Steven R — Google review
Very run down. Took 15 minutes to get menus, 20 minutes after that we got our drinks. I ordered the chicken burger with a side salad. Burger was inedible, the grease soaked through bun within minutes and grease was trapped between the meat and the skin. Gross! Salad was wet so no dressing would adhere and salad got soaked by grease from the burger. After half an hour of waiting for the waitress owner to check on us I’ve given up on my dinner as my friends are finished their subpar fish and chips.
Danielle — Google review
Very small restaurant and it was packed. We got lucky and were seated right away. But there was only 1 waitress so took quite a while for service. Staff were friendly, though. We received our food quickly, especially with it being so busy. The food was decent, just a little under seasoned across the board. We had fish, puteen, and hamburger steak. Good bar/beer selection which we were surprised by.

The fish and chips were the best I had in Rupert. The batter was crispy and I'd definitely come back. The service was top notch too. The lady and her helper literally ran to clear a table and served up a great meal in short order. Top notch all around with a great atmosphere.

Pollyco (Rupert Square) Mall, established in 1975, is a serene shopping center serving Prince Rupert and nearby areas. It houses major retailers like Walmart, Home Hardware, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Dollarama along with TD Canada Trust and the Royal Bank. Visitors appreciate the calm atmosphere and commend the customer service at Dumela restaurant, Dollarama, and Walmart.
Always a calm place, I’d prefer this over a busy city mall any day. To be more specific, they have an amazing in- restaurant called Dumela and Number 1, Walmart workers are always friendly! Please come to our local Polyco Mall!

Neat place to walk from Port stop in Prince Rupert, BC. Very basic and small Wal-Mart on premises. Reminds me of grocery stores and malls in US when I was a child. Facility could use a face-lift to modernize.

Rupert Square Shopping Center is also known as the Rupert Square Mall in Prince Rupert. The most prominent and popular store here is the Walmart of the small town. Other useful stores for the tourists are the Dollarama store and the Shopper's Drug Mart. It is located in Downtown Prince Rupert just off the Yellowstone Highway. One can get a good view of the harbor and the Rotary Waterfront Park. Parking is available in the compound.

Start here for your interesting walk through town and realize why this town is called Podunk. 2 possibly 3 stores in this mall are actually interesting, then your typical chain stores lacking product selection. Oh the sidewalk in front of the is caving in . Making the walk a little more interesting. Maybe that's why the locals drink there.

Great place to grab a coffee or lunch or get some work done! Would definitely recommend. One very loud cashier who was clearly very new that didn't mind expressing her negative thoughts and how the time was passing so slowly for all to hear (its a quiant place so you can hear everything)... would recommend the owners have a talk with her about the atmosphere she's creating.

Fantastic coffee shop! We got there early after arriving on the ferry, and it was already drawing a crowd. The breakfast bagel was delicious, and the coffee hit the spot. Prince Rupert is a nice quite community a long Cow Bay where Fishman bring their load of fish to the markets. Also there's a unique coffee shop called Cowpuccino's Coffee House that you see it in the states or elsewhere my wife and I went there to get some hot chocolate and coffee and probably a pastry our first time try a Canadian pastry. The coffee was really good and my wife hot chocolate was also good. We brought two scones they were so good plenty of flavor.

I went on a Princess cruise in August and one of the ports we stopped at was Prince Rupert. My wife and I saw there was a coffee shop called Cowpuccino. We knew this was a place we needed to visit. It is an easy walk from the dock and next to the sunken garden. The coffee was delicious and I bought some beans to take home with me. If you happen to be in Prince Rupert, take a moment to stop in and buy something, it is worth your time. Also, please be patient. Our cruise ship had 3,100 people on board, so there was a line to order your coffee and food. The staff worked fast to get the orders out to everyone, and did it with a smile.

Walmart Prince Rupert is a crucial shopping destination in the remote northern region of Canada. It serves as a community hub and offers a wide range of products, including non-perishable items at great prices. The store is known for its cleanliness, helpful staff, and convenient hours, opening at 7 AM nearly every day of the week.
I just have to give this Walmart five stars. You always get greeted at the front. There’s lots of staff running all over the place so everything is easy to find and if you need help it’s there. The store is clean like you would expect any other Walmart. And it probably has everything you want. The hours are also amazing. Opening up at 7 AM. Nearly every day of the week. There’s also a pharmacy. Which is very convenient.

I have some mobility problems so I decided to order online to get stuff Im not able to carry up my stairs especially if they are heavy. Everything was there, when I got them delivered and Im very happy about it. I recommend it for anyone who cant make it into the store to shop. This was my first time ordering online. If I knew about it long time ago, i would have done it then. Only downside was when I tried to shop in the store the day i was able to make it in , there were no more powerades, the big or small ones. Someone gouged them and didn’t leave any for other shoppers who need it. Usually they have lots. And one of the power wheel carts that they have in the store for people with mobility issues, the one that has signs on it says its fully charged but when I was using it it kept stopping and not working. The other one works okay, but they do need new ones. I did let someone at Customer Service know but don’t know if he took it to heart as he was busy doing something. And when I do try to use them at times it says battery is almost dead. They need to keep tabs on those electric carts at making sure they are fully charged. But otherwise I have no other issues with Walmart. Im glad they stock the shelves fast as they can, but do hope they put limits on the powerades and water. Those two are the ones that are gone almost fast. Thank you for everything Walmart. I do appreciate the ordering online and delivery. and I wonder if its year round? I did give the driver a tip for the online ordering so I suggest others to do it too. 😊

For the most part, the staff at our local Walmart are quite good. Friendly, and try to be helpful - except for the person who has been on customer service this last week or so. Quite snippy and rude each time that I have had an interaction with her. (First time was to pick up their donations of discards for the SPCA. Two visits later, I went away empty handed after being made to wait almost half an hour. To preface, Walmart calls the SPCA to say they have donations. The SPCA calls me and I pick it up and deliver - it is not a check to see.) second experience was tonight. Rude, snippy, and to top it all off - talking to her friends/coworkers in Punjabi in front of me. Left me feeling very uncomfortable….and quite cross….

Walmart Prince Rupert: A Northern Retail Gem Walmart Prince Rupert, located in the picturesque coastal town of Prince Rupert in British Columbia, stands out as a vital shopping destination in this remote northern region of Canada. As a resident or visitor in this charming town, one quickly realizes the significance of having a Walmart store nearby. One of the most striking features of Walmart Prince Rupert is its role as a community hub. The store is not just a place to shop but a place to connect with neighbors and friends. Its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff create a sense of belonging, and it often feels like more than just a retail outlet. For many in Prince Rupert, it serves as a convenient gathering spot. Been working as a truck driver last 10years, never seen reciving as bad as here, thay dont want to recive goods after 2:30pm, and because of that thay leave you there to wait for tomorow morning. Most of the time we drive only 1 or 2 skids for this walmart. As thay say reciving works only from 7:30am to 2:30pm, this practice is not common for any Walmart in BC, only here. Would be nice if management could change this and spare drivers of wasting whole day here for 1 or 2 skids....will post pic of most common load i bring here.

Embark on a journey through Prince Rupert's history with the Olde Time Trolley Company. Step aboard a vintage trolley and be guided through the city's famous landmarks and hidden gems. The knowledgeable guides provide in-depth insights into the city's history, government, economy, nature, and environment. With friendly drivers like Keith and expert guides like Amber, visitors are treated to an enjoyable and informative experience.
Prince Rupert is a small town so why not see all it has to offer with a vintage trolley ride. Our driver Keith was genuine and full of great stories. He made the tour memorable. Stopped at a few places for photo opportunities, but mostly stood inside the trolley which shielded us from the rain. I was glad we took this tour and Keith did an amazing job of educating us.
Frank R — Google review
We loved this tour of pretty Prince Rupert. It included stops at three eateries to sample their delicacies - OVs, Arabisk and Bob's on the Rocks. Our tour guides were fantastic - Belinda on the microphone and Jade up front driving. Also Morgan, their sister, got plenty of mentions and Witney loading the trolley. They showed us everything worth seeing in this small town including Seal Cove, Cow Bay, totems, murals, statues, historic buildings, their nan's house, stores and the eateries. My wife and I loved it. Highly recommended.
Colin B — Google review
Our first visit to Prince Rupert, also known as Cow Bay, felt like stepping into a charming postcard. The best way to see this little gem is the Olde Time Trolley Company. Our driver Keith made the ride a real highlight of the trip. We were entertained by his great sense of humor and genuinely impressed with his vast knowledge of the island. By the end I either knew everything about Prince Rupert or Keith was so convincing he could sell me on just about anything. Keith dropped us off for lunch at one of his favorite spots, Arabisk, a family-run Lebanese or maybe Arabic restaurant. I have never tasted spices so rich and layered. The food was incredible and the experience was made even better by the warm family running the place. From the elegant lady greeting us at the door to the chef in the kitchen to Steve who kept bringing out plate after plate like we were at some kind of culinary Olympics, it was unforgettable. If you only have time to do one thing in Prince Rupert, travel with Keith on the trolley. You will not only see the town but also hear its stories in a way that makes you feel like you have lived there for years. And if you can, follow it up with lunch or dinner at Arabisk. A word of advice, skip breakfast because you are going to need the extra room. At the end of lunch the family came out in front of the restaurant to wave goodbye to us as the trolley took us back to the cruise ship, which made the whole experience feel like we were leaving old friends behind.
Greg F — Google review
This was an amazing experience and I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone visiting Prince Rupert. Keith was very informative and incredibly fun while touring us around the city. Lunch was at Arabisk Meditteranean Cuisine and it was some of the best food I've had (that's saying a lot from a foodie like me that is very well traveled). The Baclava was the best I have ever had. Overall, this was a very enjoyable experience that you will not regret!

You will not be disappointed if you take a red trolley tour. If you’re lucky enough to get Keith, who is currently driving the red trolley car named guacamolly, you will learn some very interesting historical information about Prince Rupert, but he can tell the stories that make it fun and interesting to listen to! Thanks again, Keith for making my visit to Prince Rupert Not only a learning experience, but fun tour of the town!

The Vintage Trolley was a highlight on our cruise ship stop in Prince Rupert. We boarded the charming red trolley and sisters Morgan and Belinda were friendly and informative guides. We went around the city driving by distinctive buildings and artwork and stopped at Totem Park and Seal Cove Salt Marsh for 15 mins each. I highly recommend going on the trolley in Prince Rupert.

Wheelhouse Brewing Company is a craft brewery located in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The brewery offers a welcoming atmosphere for everyone, serving not only delicious beer but also cider, wine, and kombucha. Visitors can enjoy board games and a neighborhood feel while striking up conversations with the friendly locals. Housed in the town's beautifully restored CN Rail Station, the brewery adds to the area's historic charm.
Nice views on the water. Order food/drinks from the bar downstairs. Pizzas are a bit pricey for what you get. Pizza was flavorful and hot. Good selection of local Wheelhouse beers. Worth a visit if in PR.

Great spot for a pizza and beer. Highly recommend this place, great Neapolitan style pizzas and locally made beer. Had a pizza, pint and a Caprese salad for ~50$. Most pizzas were ~$28, beers were about $8/16oz. Different pizza on special most nights. Views from upstairs were great, but they also had a dog friendly patio. Will definitely return for some casual food and drinks when in Rupert. Highly recommend.
Yannic — Google review
Great local brewery in Prince Rupert with a wide selection of brews. I got the Clara Lager which was tasty (ended up buying a pack upon leaving) and my partner got a plank (flight) of 4 beers and a spicy Hawaiian pizza. My partner did want the blackened chicken salad originally, but unfortunately the salad no longer has chicken as an option so the pizza was chosen instead. The brews were tasty and my partner ended up really enjoying two of the four they ordered for their plank. They ended up getting a pack of Vitamin Sea which was really tasty. The pizza they ordered was a real hit and had a nice subtle but defined spice to it on a thin crust pizza with pickled onion. Everything worked well together and had great taste (also the Vitamin Sea accompanied the pizza perfectly). Great place for a brew along the water in Prince Rupert!

The pizza is delicious and they have a daily pizza special! Great ocean views from the top lounge. Beer selection is fantastic, I have yet to try one I haven't enjoyed.

The atmosphere is fun and funky. The food is great bar food. Pizza, nachos, brewed on site beer, ginger beer, tea, and cider. Gluten and dairy free options a plenty! I was even able to order garlic free!! It’s a heck of an allergen and really hard for me to find all three free! I’m super impressed!!! Love this place. I highly recommend.
Leia R — Google review
We tried the smoked salmon pizza and the pineapple kombucha. The kombucha was pleasantly sour and refreshing, a nice balance to the meal. The crust of the pizza was smoky and easy to chew, which gave it a distinct flavor. However, the overall presentation and texture leaned more toward flatbread than a traditional pizza, which may not match everyone’s expectations.

Fantastic friendly service, great views and the beer is even better. One of my favorite breweries. Staff make you feel like you're a friend, even as a tourist! Thanks for an awesome time.

Stopped by Wheelhouse Brewing while in town and had an awesome time. I ordered the smoked sockeye salmon pizza. Super tasty and packed with local flavor. Their beer selection was solid too; I tried a bunch of different ones and didn’t find a bad pour in the bunch. The best part? The people. I ended up chatting with a few local fishermen at the bar, and everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. As someone just passing through, it felt like I was part of the community for a night. Great food, great beer, and even better people. Definitely worth a visit.

Park
Rotary Waterfront Park offers a picturesque escape to the water's edge, providing sweeping views of Prince Rupert's entrance. Despite the nearby train tracks and shipping activities, visitors can enjoy the beautiful architecture and historical relevance of the area. The park features amenities such as seating areas for relaxation and opportunities to observe sea otters playing near the shore. Additionally, visitors can explore a railway museum within the park or take a leisurely walk along the waterfront path to Cow Bay.
Nice view and a renovation building in progress for a new business come in. 10 minutes walk from cruise terminal. If you want, cross the railway (end section of the cargo train marshalling area) to go uphill to town centre along the paved road.

Was not what we had expected since we stayed at the Crest Hotel up top which was beautiful….but if ur just coming to see the ocean it’s ok, bathrooms were not open was dirty and messy, the beach for kids was ok(for older kids cause it’s all big rocks with barnacles)we did find crabs and other sea creatures, but not a place I would put on my list to see!!

The views are excellent and the architecture nearby is interesting, historically relevant and beautiful. A walk down the waterfront path to Cow Bay is an excellent way to spend an hour or so. We did see some Sea Otters and it was interesting to watch the fishing boats etc go by. There is a railway museum in the park that was not open when we visited.

With sweeping views of the entrance to Prince Rupert, this location has amenities seating to just sit and watch. If you're fortunate, you catch some sea otters playing near the shore. The nearby train terminal does add some noise, but otherwise it's a nice park.

The Highliner Hotel & Conference Centre offers quiet rooms with balconies and reliable internet access, along with meeting rooms, a restaurant, and an airport shuttle service. The overall experience is positive, with well-appointed rooms that have most amenities and a satisfying breakfast served downstairs. Although the Wi-Fi connection may be weak at times, the comfortable beds and friendly staff make up for it. There is praise for April, a diligent housekeeper who adds thoughtful touches to enhance guests' stay.
Great location. The ferry that is included in the Vancouver flight takes you directly to the Highliner Hotel - convenient. Really enjoyed the breakfast but would have liked it to be extended to 10am rather than 9am. Staff was very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Gabriella S — Google review
We stayed at the Highliner for four nights, and found the experience very positive. The new owners have made several improvements to the facility including room and menu upgrades. Our room was bright and cheerful with a beautiful wall-to-ceiling view of the city and water. The bed was comfortable, and I liked that I could control the room temperature easily. The food was very good, and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. There is an airport shuttle bus depot right in the hotel, which was an added bonus. I would recommend this hotel.
Marimae M — Google review
I stayed at the Highliner Hotel & Conference Centre last week, and my experience was very disappointing. I had booked a king-size room, but when I arrived, they gave me a twin-bed room instead. When I went to the front desk to ask about it, they told me there was nothing else available. I had no choice but to spend the night in that room, even though the bathtub was broken, the bed was broken, and the bedsheets had a bad smell. The next day, they moved us to a two-bedroom apartment but never told us that it came with nothing inside—no shower gel, no shampoo, nothing at all. I had traveled all the way from Calgary to Prince Rupert for 5 days to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and this really spoiled the trip. To make things worse, the “breakfast included” was a joke. There were only two items available, and both were served cold. Overall, I would never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone. I wanna add one more thing Mr. Sundar the manager, they did nothing. People complaining about the room services but nothing happens.
Prabhjot S — Google review
Booked through Expedia. Getting there late, there was no parking and very little light while trying to organize luggage to get in. Once inside it was clean and staff was friendly. The room was in fairly good condition but had cleaning supplies left behind. Outdoor view was over their own roof and a distant view of the ocean. Breakfast was free?… it did look to have more options if you were willing to pay. it wasn’t horrible but could definitely be better. Checking out was easy and quick
Reese — Google review
It was clean, quiet, promptly cleaned. The room was basic with no frills. The breakfast provided was abundant with every choice desired. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, oats, cold cereals toast etc….. decent balcony but nothing to relax on and enjoy the view. Perhaps due to the moisture.
Molly J — Google review
The place had recent renovations, but the shortcuts are definitely showing. Stick on flooring used on the bathroom vanity. Some areas are starting to peel. The bathrooms have no fans and the rooms have no AC. I get that Prince Rupert is not usually hot enough to warrant the use of AC. It was very warm and humid and AC would have helped. The breakfast is decent, but the variety is lacking. The only thing that would make me try again is the courteous staff.
David E — Google review
Don't be fooled by the newly renovated pictures. Stayed here for almost 2 weeks and the house keeping is non existent. Rooms are already heavily worn down. If you don't mind the cheapest most uncomfortable mattresses, crumby dirty floors, damp gross smells then you'll be fine. Don't count on housekeeping for extended stays. Despite asking front end staff 3 days in a row for new bed sheets and restocked towels. My room has still been untouched by housekeeping for 3 days now(fingers crossed for tomorrow after working 13 hours a day). $210 a night and I'm taking out my own garbage. I can't even be mad at the front line staff. This is 100% a failure at management level and they should be ashamed.
Stefan S — Google review
Stayed at this hotel for a month for work. The ocean view room was nice. Housekeeping is my main issue. Bathroom left with yellow caked on grime in the bathroom, being left towels that are ripped in half and then watching the housekeeper lounging in someone else’s room on her phone while she was ‘cleaning it’. In a 12 day stay (I did two) sheets were never changed. The shampoo dispenser also was broken and dripped shampoo EVERYWHERE constantly. I repeatedly asked for the shampoo to be taken out to no avail. I did try to take it out myself but it needed a key type thing. This is why I’m rating 2/5. The front desk people were very pleasant and helpful but housekeeping needs some work. Also important to note there is ZERO airflow in the rooms. The hotel is older. They have done Reno’s but they are def short cut Reno’s but nothing that will impact your stay. I did complain to the manager at the end of my first 12 day stay about how the rooms patio door didn’t latch and as a solo female I did not feel safe … came back a couple days later and I was suppose to be put in the same room and the door had not been fixed. Manager was aware of all these concerns and other than putting a ‘extra house keeping note’ on my reservation didn’t even apologize. Bed is comfortable. Wifi is pretty good. TV is good and has a wide range of channels. The restaurant is the hotel is eh. The breakfast that is included is alright DO NOT order the fried French toast of the menu - It’s full of oil.

Subway is a popular fast-casual restaurant chain that specializes in customizable sandwiches and salads. They also offer health-conscious options, making it a suitable choice for those seeking nutritious meals. In Prince Rupert, Subway stands out as one of the few establishments opening early at 8 am, providing breakfast options for early risers. Alongside their famous build-your-own sandwiches, they serve salads and pizzas to cater to different preferences.
Ordered 6 foot longs online. Got here order was ready. Worker had numbered for us so it was easy to identify who's sub was which. He then cleaned a table so we could all sit together. Great service and subs were delish!

I love the food but one associate did not change her gloves for 6 customers as I sat there eating my sub. Due to privacy i will not post her picture but touching different meats and vegetarian "meat" and also different veggies for each sub really grossed me out specially after seeing her wipe off the white counter part with said gloves and touching who knows what in the back. Especially when you have no idea if anyone is allergic to anything, if they are could result in a suing. Do better
Amy C — Google review
Used to be good. Everything has no taste now, I don't know if it's cheap ingredients or they're spraying the veggies with something to keep them last the best before. There's a wierd taste. Every so often my stomach hurts after eating

This is one of the few places in Prince Rupert which open early at 8 am so one can go there for breakfast. We could buy an egg sub but chose the foot long vegetarian sub and shared it between the two of us. Salads and Pizzas are also available. We had a tetra-pack juice instead of tea or coffee, and carried some Chocolate cookies for later. Service is good and friendly.

It's fine, the servers are doing their best and are efficient. The food is OK, but it's Subway. I enjoy eating at Pho 88 at least half a dozen times every month. Their meals are always exactly what i want and they never fail to serve some of the best food in all of Rupert

Great value. Stopped here for something warm after a looooong trip and was very impressed. Unassuming but the bowls of pho are massive, hot and the beef sliced thick! Would definitely recommend it.

The food here is top notch. If your lunch break allows try to get in before noon or after 1 as this place can often be filled up with people eating at this great value vietnamese food restaurant.

The seasoning is very good, but the dish is served very coarsely. The only thing I didn't like was the Vietnamese coffee; it's far from good coffee (ice coffee).

Pavilion Restaurant, located at 243 3 Ave W, Prince Rupert, British Columbia, V8J 1L2, offers a delightful dining experience with its spacious and well-decorated layout. The attentive staff ensures that guests are well taken care of and assists with menu choices. Diners have praised the restaurant for serving hot and visually appealing meals that are prepared to perfection.
Surprisingly good quality dinner. If you're looking for a nice dinner at a reasonable price In Prince Rupert I recommend checking out Pavilion. The interior reminded us of a restaurant that used to be really fancy, but honestly we were both blown away by how good our salads were. We had the tuna salad, roast beet salad and the Bruschetta. The seared tuna with the salad was huge and very well cooked.

That was pathetically bad. Waited 10 minutes for the hostess to come back to her post, and when she did she just asked “are you good?” Why do you think I’m standing at your podium in the first place? Appetizer took over 30 minutes and entree lagged similarly. But the worst was checking out. After waiting 20 minutes I walked to where the waiters are and forced them to check me out, I had places to be. The service is just so atrociously bad here. The food itself is okay, definitely nothing to rave about. Given how expensive it is you’d figure they could afford to staff properly, but I guess not. And this was when it was half empty, would hate to see how bad it is when they’re full.

We arrived, without a reservation, early evening. The restaurant was very busy. However, we were warmly greeted immediately by the host. I thought we may have to wait for a table. But, we were seated immediately. We had a lovely view of the harbour & our meals came out quite promptly & the food was delicious. We had the lamb curry, which was very nicely spiced, & the seafood linguine. The linguine had a good selection of seafood & the sauce was very flavourful. The meal portions were very generous. We enjoyed our meal & would certainly not hesitate to recommend the restaurant to others.

Good service and great view. Came here for local food and was not disappointed. Craft beer choices are from local breweries. Halibut and chips using local caught fish was the best I've had, tender and flakey and tasted delicious.
Chris H — Google review
We came here for lunch and there were only 2 tables with a few people & the one table was just finishing up. The server was almost non-existent. When she did take our order, she would come back a time later, informing us that they can't make that. This happened multiple times with different drinks as well as food items that were all on their menu. When the food & drinks did arrive, my ceasar salad had so much pepper in it that I only had a few bits, and our cocktails were poorly made. We didn't see our server again and had to track down someone in the kitchen to pay the bill. With all of the open tables that overlook the ocean, they seated us in the corner so that one of us had a beautiful ocean view & the other had the dirty parking lot overlooking the mall. They did the same thing to the next family coming in. They were smart enough to ask for a better table, though. Unfortunately we won't be back.

Had an amazing dinner with some friends from work. One had calamari to start, and another had the chowder. The calamari was good and the chowder was great. The Waterfront Restaurant in Prince Rupert, BC, Canada offers an excellent dining experience with a lovely ambiance and picturesque ocean views. The menu features delicious dishes such as Blackened Chicken Sandwich, Cowgirl Salad, long braised beef short ribs, and earth and surf. The drinks are outstanding with unique options like Chai long island ice tea.
What a wonderful restaurant! Amazing views of Prince Rupert harbour to accompany the incredible food. We were so impressed by the place that we went back for a second time at the end of our stay in Prince Rupert – the photos are from our two visits. The Line Caught Pacific Halibut and Halibut Cheeks were part of the Halibut Fest so not part of their regular menu, I guess. The combination of flavours was exquisite, and this was true for each of the dishes we ordered. And the desserts! Amazing! The appetizers were good but did not quite come up to the level of the main meals and the desserts. Our advice is to skip the appetizers and save room for the wonderful desserts. The service was excellent.

Service was outstanding, especially for such a small town. Beautiful view. Food was perfectly seasoned and arrived hot. The table behind us had many special requests anf the server was so willing to accommodate. Thank you so much for a lovely meal. We will be back tomorrow.

Great place for really good food. The quality is very impressive. The staff is great, helpful and friendly. The views of the Harbour are a real treat, can watch the boats go by. Highly recommend going there, for any meals. The separate dining rooms are very nice for alittle bigger groups. For dinner definitely make reservations.

Holy moly this is a fancy place with to die for meals and appetizers. Great service and the atmosphere is lovely here. Lots of views of the Harbour with big windows so you can watch the bald eagles fly and hunt just outside. I would suggest going for a sunset dinner as the view is simply amazing. I will be back again and every time I come to Prince Rupert, BC.

The location And building are beautiful. Ordered clam chowder. Didnt have one clam in it so was basically 17 dollar chowder and very small portion. The calamari had zero flavor. Who doesn't season the calamari. Tastes like deep fried batter that's it. Very disappointing. They do have good daily drink specials
Rachael B — Google review
The view was absolutely beautiful on the deck outside facing the ocean. They say it rains there alot but I was lucky as there was sunshine so I was able to dine outside. I had the seafood platter, fish was crispy outside , flaky on the inside ,chips were crispy, the clam chowder was delicious. The restaurant is a little on the pricy side but definitely worth a visit.

Casinos & Gambling
Chances Casino receives a positive rating due to its consistently clean environment and friendly staff. While the casino is small, it offers helpful assistance in currency conversion and has at least one video poker machine. The food, which was previously highly praised, remains uncomplained about. Arun Wali, the casino's manager, maintains a hospitable atmosphere with well-trained staff members. Visitors can enjoy delicious cuisine in a beautiful setting.
Great little casino, machines were paying which was nice. Great food at their restaurant.
Mike F — Google review
I've gotten completely cold wings from Chances, and fish & chips that tasted like frozen battered halibut! Food prices have gone up, which is understandable. However, the drink prices are ridiculous, and bar staff don't seem that friendly
Mel J — Google review
Notwithstanding the obvious lack of quality control our Server was stellar! My companion ordered chicken wings, after one bite he suspected the oil they were cooked in was “old” and could not eat anymore. The ambience screams this venue is in dire need of a reboot. Many locals and visitors pour their hard earned pay checks into this place and BC Lottery Corp makes a substantial profit here. It’s a real shame they don’t reinvest this money back into this well-used entertainment platform.
Ray B — Google review
First time in Canada for my wife and me. Loved the views and the totem poles. The story of the Japanese boat that was found abandoned that's displaced was interesting.

The Museum of Northern British Columbia, located in Prince Rupert, offers a rich exploration of the history and culture of the Northwest Coast First Nations. Housed in a building designed like an aboriginal longhouse, the museum showcases ceremonial and cultural artifacts from the local indigenous peoples. Visitors can immerse themselves in the fascinating stories and legends of these communities through interpretive tours and engaging programs.
The Museum of Northern British Columbia is a wonderful collection of indigenous peoples memorabilia and things from the early history of the area. The museum is self guided and well laid out. We spent about an hour but there is no limit imposed.
Louis E — Google review
Visited June 14 2025. Indigenous displays are fanatastic and so interesting. The colonial displays are historical but boring. One suggestion. There is no welcoming signage at the entrance. The museum looks closed. In fact the right door was locked although the left opened. There was no one at the desk as they were in the gift shop and did come out. No greeting though, just a question about would you like to visit. This is feedback for museum management. As welcoming, belonging and inclusivity are researched values/experiences for visitors, perhaps more attention should be paid to striving to welcome visitors since so many more people need to experience and appreciate the remarkable art of indigenous peoples.
Pat S — Google review
This museum is well worth a visit. The long house is a very impressive structure. The front desk staff are friendly. The exhibits are beautifully displayed. The descriptions of the different nations is very informative
Linda M — Google review
This is a very nice museum showcasing the history and culture of the people, both past and present, who reside in this Northwestern side of Canada. Before the Europeans arrived here with their railways and steamships to harness the natural resources, it was largely the First Nations Peoples who inhabited this region. As a result much of their art forms and traditional crafts have been displayed. There is a curio and bookshop as well. The museum is open on all days from 9 am to 5 pm in the summers. There is a token entry fee.

Great museum, also good value gift shop. Purchased a 1st nation t-shirt here for $25 where same brand elsewhere has been up to $45 in more touristy towns. Really loved this contempory bowl on display by Dempsey Bob.

Nice retrospective of the first nation's and settler's cultures in the Prince Rupert area. Details on the cards were a bit hard to read for us older people. The large windowed room was a highlight and the description of the different nation's clothes and regalia was very well done.

Parks
Pacific Mariners Memorial Park is a well-preserved public park that has been open since 1990. It boasts beautiful gardens, an excellent playground for children aged 2-10, and features antique ship parts and memorials to fishermen. The City ensures the playground is maintained, while funding comes from the local Lions club. Additionally, it's an ideal spot for family picnics as it's situated on the oceanfront and only a short walk away from several restaurants.
I believe my son found every possible bench between San Francisco and Alaska 🤣 however this one he took a little more time and actually sat here and enjoyed for a few extra moments. Which allowed the rest of us to spend a few extra moments to enjoy the views. The people in the area were extremely friendly. They welcomed us in and treated us kindly, even though we were there invading their town and their space. They still took the time to show us where things were and point us in the directions of were little extra special things to find were. This park was a great place to overlook the boats and the ships. And to just allow my son to be a kid before we continued on exploring.
J S — Google review
It's a great park that looks out over the cruise ship dock and waterfront of Prince Rupert. A real highlight is the recovered ship Kazu Maru from Japan. The story itself is too long to go into here, but you should look it up online. It is stunning that the ship survived that journey and ended up here of all places. I'd recommend coming by if you have any interest in nautical history, and there are many restaurants, gift shops, and other places of interest nearby when you're done.

Lovely walk along the waterfront. The boat, anchor and statue are all fitting. The memorial plaques are a stark reminder of the strength of the sea and of the people who worked it and took pleasure from being on it
Linda M — Google review
The Pacific Mariners Memorial Park and surrounding area was the highlight of my visit to Prince Rupert. It's right beside Cow Bay, so it's a great place to walk with a coffee to see some amazing views after visiting the nautical information centre and before walking the docks to look at the nearby boats. The 27-foot Kazu Maru is the centre object of display at the memorial park. A plaque describes the ghost ship’s strange journey as having a “mystic quality,” but the full story can be read on the informational sign. On September 26th, 1985 Kazukio Sakamoto left Owase for a day of fishing. In March of 1987, a government patrol vessel near Skidegate Inlet on Haida Gwaii spotted the boat overturned, barnacle-enshrouded, and about to be smashed into the rocks. They rescued the boat and brought it to Prince Rupert. When the Kazu Maru was identified, it surprised people to learn it was from Owase, Prince Rupert’s official sister city since 1968. The boat was restored and put on display at the cannery. In 1990, it was moved into a Japanese-style shrine at Prince Rupert's new memorial park. Sakamoto’s widow Eiko, family members, and others from Owase came to BC to attend the opening ceremony. The Japanese delegation offered prayers and helped bless the shrine, which is dedicated to all of those who have been lost at sea.
Shanon S — Google review
A small but well-maintained public park. The waterfront exposure and cleanliness of the park are great things while considering visiting. I think the Kasu Maru-a small Japanese boat is another attraction of this park other than the spectacular view from this site.

Don Cherry's Sports Grill is a fantastic place to enjoy delicious cuisine and outstanding service. The wait time is minimal, and it conveniently located within walking distance of the hotel. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including delectable fried pickles, Cherry's chicken with a delightful sweet Thai sauce, and mouthwatering poutine. While the signage may be challenging to spot initially, this hidden gem can be found at the back of the casino behind a hockey mask.
What a wonderful treat, food was excellent, service was awesome, wait time was short and all within walking distance from my hotel. I got the fried pickles, Cherry's chicken with sweet Thai sauce and some poutine. Signs hard to spot but it's in the back of the casino behind the hockey mask.

Food was great, although the menu was a little sparse, not a lot of options. Unless you want burgers. I'm showing my age here, but about halfway into my visit someone cranked the music up so it was too loud to have a conversation with my table. Service was prompt and waitress was kind.

Fish and chips good size burgers have something in them that breaks them up. Don't order the calamari it's the worst I've ever had thin sliced fried pieces. Service waitress didn't know the specials or the soup and it's not part of the DC chain. Sad to say but much better places to go if ur in PR

Awesome experience seeing grizzly bears in their natural habitat and whales and bald eagles. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended this tour!

I don’t know if there is enough space for me to express how incredibly epic this experience was. We went whale watching on August 22nd, and it’s like Mother Nature had a chat with the humpbacks and they all worked in unison to make the day perfect. The boat, the comfort and the staff all added to what was a memory of a lifetime. The boat itself was clean, comfortable and had excellent viewing space. The concession is well stocked, the drinks are cold and the staff friendly. Matt was absolutely a gem to interact with, he was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He also gave us the best advice for the best view for a sunset campfire to look over the water for my besties 40th bday weekend. 4 hours went by so fast, and I definitely cried for most of it. I will be back time and time again. Matt definitely needs a raise, he sang my bestie happy birthday and got the whole boat singing. We will never forget Matt and his kindness, please keep him on the boat forever. 10/10 recommend doing the whale tour. Except for whale burps, those stink.
Amanda B — Google review
Was really lucky with beautiful weather on the day we went! The staff were amazing ❤️ friendly and super knowledgeable not just about the wildlife but the land and history. I regret not writing down the name of the humpback whale they helped me ID! Definitely recommend to pay attention where the actual parking areas are considering the length of the grizzly bear tour 🙈

Amazing experience! So much to see and learn. The crew were so hospitable and friendly and were eager to share stories, which were all enjoyed and appreciated. A very, very memorable adventure. This tour is not to be missed. Everyone in our group had a blast, those old and young.

Fabulous day of Whale watching with Captain Doug and his crew in Prince Rupert, Canada!! We cruised offshore for less than an hour before we saw our first group of humpback whales! We also very fortunate to witness the whales bubble net fishing, not far from the boat!! It was an incredible sight to see, and our first time seeing this in person. We highly recommend the whale watching tour with this company. The boat had very comfortable seating throughout, and more importantly plenty of areas on multiple decks for viewing outside, or from the comfort of the indoor seating. The crew informed us about much of the local history, points of interest along our voyage, and of course about the whales we would be viewing. It was an Outstanding day!!

This was a spectacular tour of the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary. Within the comfort and safety of our large luxury catamaran, we were able to quietly embark on this journey of a lifetime to view these majestic creatures up close in their natural and protected habitat. 100% MUST do, at least once, for your bucket list of Life's Sidequests.

As the first sushi establishment in BC certified by Vancouver Aquarium's Ocean Wise program, Fukasaku takes pride in its commitment to healthy eating and environmental responsibility.
I enjoyed my experience here with my co-workers. The food was great. We tried the omakase and that did not disappoint. Every item included was delicious! Just the perfect serving size too, I did not feel stuffed and there was still room for dessert. The service was great as well, friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back!

Probably some of the best ramen and sushi I’ve ever had (because it’s guaranteed locally sourced and the chef is incredibly talented and dedicated to his restaurant!). I can’t hype the food up enough. The atmosphere is quiet but very welcoming and the view of the harbour is incredible! (Also the price is very fair- considering we live 9+ hours from the ocean and pay more at our seafood places for fish that is not fresh!).
Alexa M — Google review
Had a birthday dinner with the wife here. Both of us were blown away with the Omakase. First time ever doing something like this and everything was amazing. It was quite interesting getting to see where everything was sourced as well as having a large variety of dishes to work through.

One of the gems in Prince Rupert. Food so fresh that it melts in your mouth. Service is so kind and tentative. I strongly suggest having the Fukasaku favorites, a selection menu from the Chef that it has a bit of everything. Make a reservation, you won't find a table since it's very limited. It's worth it 100%!

I must say I have try various sushi places in Vancouver but none come close to the fresh flavours of Fukasaku. Every entree has a delicious flavour that will leave wanting more. Great day spent with Haeden. Our three teenage boys had fun catching salmon. Then he took us to the honey hole of Halibut, caught six in under 20 min! Was amazing. He was honest with weather and was willing to give us full refund if decided not to go due to chance of rough waters, went anyways as felt would still be safe and was. Seen whales and seals as well. Incredible, reliable, safe and well equipped guide. Comfortable boat. Highly recommend booking with this Charter if wanting fun and safety as well for your family.

Great time out today with Hayden, we brought in a helluva haul. He definitely knows the spots. We went home with 24 dungeness, 4 Hali, 5 Springs and 3 rockfish. Fish on!
Jonas H — Google review
Had an absolute blast. From what I have seen Haeden is the best in the business. Tonnes of experience in the industry, laughs on the boat and even more fish. The crab traps were a bonus you get at the end of the day fishing. Already booked for next year. Would recommend to everybody.
Tom M — Google review
Where to we even start! Haeden easily made our annual trip out to Prince Rupert the best one yet! He went out of his way to make sure we were on the fish and took the time to explain/teach all the tips and tricks along the way! We couldn’t be happier with the outcome of our two days with him. Would highly recommend booking!
Mackenzie M — Google review
Haeden was awesome! My first time ever on the ocean fishing and he taught me a ton, answered my questions and was patient when I lost (several) fish haha. Excellent time with him and we got a ton of fish! 10/10 would recommend him to new and experienced anglers! Had a blast and will for sure be back! Thanks again Haeden!

One of the most beautiful places on earth! Haeden delivered an exceptional experience for us this weekend, highly recommend

Did a great job! I would highly recommend Haeden if you’re looking for a charter that really tries to get some fish! We caught our limit and had a blast! Even saw some Orcas and humpbacks. Really do recommend!

Park
Sunken Gardens Park in Prince Rupert, Canada, is a charming community garden that was originally planned as the site for an old courthouse. The park features a variety of colorful flowers and plants and is perfect for leisurely strolls or picnics. Visitors can enter through tunnels or via the grounds of the Rupert Courthouse. The garden is well-maintained by volunteers and a professional groundskeeper, offering a serene escape near downtown and the harbor area.
Beautiful hidden gem with such diversity of flowers, shrubs and trees. Thanks to the #princerupertgardenclub for building and maintaining this gorgeous little oasis. #sunkengardens #princerupert

An old unused foundation that the town turned into a sunken garden. It is well tended with plenty of places to sit and find shade while you enjoy the beautiful plants. A tunnel on each side leads into the sunken area, and you can also take a trail and stairs to the top, which has access to the neighboring streets. A true gem that you can tell the community takes great pride in maintaining, worth a visit. Reminded me a great deal of the sunken garden area at Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC.

An absolutely beautiful well maintained garden. Many unique plants and flowers are seen. Only tip is to in the daytime, the unhoused seem to gather here at night.

The garden is very small, but a lovely destination, close to the cruise port. Expect it to be very busy on cruise days. A decent variety of plants and places to sit and enjoy on a nice day.

Beautiful and cute sunken garden, well maintained and easy to browse around.

Beautifully landscaped & a little treasure to visit. The only thing that is missing is a really good description on why it exists. Maybe I didn’t locate a plaque but it’s interesting history, so look it up.

Our last stop was Prince Rupert,BC. We were amazing about this fishing port they get the freshest sea food and the people are very friendly. We walking and a local told us go the Sunken Garden Park it's short distance then we headed to the Sunken Gardens park. We went throught a tunnel then we saw the garden it was very nice knowing it was raining we look around very nice they told us the summer is the perfect time.

Liquor store
BCLIQUOR Prince Rupert is a popular spot with a friendly and helpful staff. Customers appreciate the great service and wide selection of products, including unique finds like the "Hahn" dry Californian red wine. The store seems to mix up its offerings monthly, ensuring there's always something new to discover. While some wish for more beer and wine choices, overall it's known for its good selection and friendly service that leaves customers walking out with huge smiles on their faces.
We were looking for some gluten free options to gift a friend and the young lady that was helping us (I unfortunately didn't get her name) was ever so friendly and helpful

Good ( lots of items) selection to choose from - beer, spirits and wine. Cold zone was super small - 😞
Lloyd S — Google review
The service is terrible. If you order a product from their warehouse, they get angry, and if you're lucky, they'll get it for you. I don't know why they don't change jobs if they're not happy there. They pass on their dissatisfaction to the customer.

Truly appreciate the fact they were still so great when I last minute ran in just befor closing! Super appreciate my experience every visit!

Nothing but bad attitude. He did not understand the theory behind a "Buy one, get one off sale". I was told to "shop at the thrift store" if I didn't like his made up story about how they (Home Hardware) does not honour Milwaukee promotions that are advertised on the side of the package! What? And FYI D, just because Im trying to save money does not mean I cant afford it. Heres a tip...If you don't know, ask instead of making it up, and lose the attitude.
Scott M — Google review
The two guys in the warehouse that look like brothers need a lesson on customer service, very rude and have absolutely no customer service, dealing with customers as a main part of your job you think you’d be good or atleast try to be decent at the job, I purchased six 2x6 and 10 sheets of plywood, not a huge order by all means. Big guy was giving attitude right away when I asked if 2x6’s were straight, it’s 6 boards not 60, do your job. rather load my truck myself then have someone who’s too tired to do there job give me smug looks and tells me “do it yourself then” when I was already gladly doing it. They loaded 9 sheets of 3/8 plywood in my truck together, the bigger guy walked away because he must’ve been exhausted. He left the younger kid to load the last sheet by himself which could’ve went south and cause damage to vehicles. I’ve never had a problem with any of the other guys, all very nice.

Questionable staff. Immediately upon walking in today I was "greeted" aka stared down by a woman who looked like she wanted to bite my head off...she was literally standing there like a statue just staring at me like I was the 2nd coming of Christ. I was then greeted by a POLITE & FRIENDLY guy who told me where the light bulbs were, so I thought thanks to him that everything was balanced out in my staff interactions...until the woman/statue decided to meet me at checkout. I was just there for the light bulbs lady, you don't have to bite my head off! HIRE MORE PEOPLE LIKE THE POLITE & FRIENDLY GUY!

The TOTAL lack of communication between the staff, management and customers is ridiculous. No communication as to when the HH truck is coming over to Haida Gwaii. Items purchased at the contractors desk over the phone for pick up on the week-end (why is the Contractors desk not open at least for a few hours on Sat. and Sunday?) and front counter staff does not give it to people picking it up on the week-end and it is sitting on the counter at the contractors service area marked with my name.. BUT it gets worse. I phoned this am at 10:00 am and explained what happened. No apology. I asked for my purchase to be delivered to the Airlines servicing Haida Gwaii so it could make the 1:00 pm plane. It was delivered around 2:00 pm so it missed the plane. What kind of staff did they hire? If necessary I would have paid for a taxi to deliver it.

Hiking area
Rushbrook Trail in Prince Rupert is a former railway line that has been transformed into a picturesque walking trail, offering stunning views of the waterfront and the Prince Rupert bay. The trail is well-maintained and suitable for all ages and skill levels, with wide pathways and minimal elevation changes. It's popular among both visitors and locals, providing an opportunity to enjoy leisurely strolls or invigorating runs while taking in the beautiful harbor landscape.
The trail is a really nice walk along the water and then around the salt marsh. We did not see any eagles, whales or sea lions on this walk, but the very helpful person at the Visitors Center told us if we spend a little time in the trail, we could likely see some of that wildlife.
Gene S — Google review
Nice easy trail along the water. Trail has been updated with bridges and wide, smooth walking trail. Popular with locals and tourists. Definitely worth a visit if in Prince Rupert.
David W — Google review
Stunning views! The trail has been completely done over. Paths are clear and neat. It is a perfect place for the leisurely stroll to running. Every turn offers a new perspective or the Harbour landscape. There is ample parking space at the sea plane base end and paid parking at Rushbrook Harbour side.
Jeffrey — Google review
This was an easy beautiful trail. I needed and wanted to walk and enjoy time fresh air! We saw so many eagles!
K B — Google review
This trail is great, considering it's in/right outside the town. There is a small loop at the end of the walking trail but is otherwise an out and back. Saw the most eagles I've ever seen in 1 place. Other wildlife spotted where black tailed deer and seals. Parking and restrooms at the trail head, don't remember seeing any other restrooms.
Gabriela B — Google review
Short flat trail with nice views. Simple easy trail no challenge. Out and back. Nice area to explore at the end where I saw some seals.
Emily S — Google review
Short but easily accessible. A nice place for that much needed walk you've been thinking of.

Nice, easy walk. Mostly paved. There were a couple of spots to go over some steps - might be a little difficult for someone on a cane. We even met a pup along the way.

Whether you're in the mood for a quick breakfast sandwich or a sweet pastry, Tim Hortons has you covered. Known for its consistency and quality, this spot ensures that every cup of coffee hits the mark, making it a reliable choice for both locals and travelers alike.
They were super busy over the weekend, but they were still really friendly. You could tell they were trying hard to give good service, and they seemed to appreciate us being nice to them. My first visit, they ran out of some items, but the food was awesome. The service was fast! We appreciate them working so hard with so many people.
Mr A — Google review
Usually I don't complain. But this is ridiculous. I get it. It's lunchtime. It's busy. Maybe she should've asked for help. My sandwich was clearly burned. Not only that. They gave me rotten lettuce.
Jeff H — Google review
Customer service was horrible. Ordered a hot specialty coffee and some food. When the coffee was made it was an iced one (which I did not order) the employee had a visual display of frustration and disgust to have to remake the proper coffee. Seems that staff really don't like their job, customers or both. Definitely sad to see because Tim Hortons is usually so much better than that.
Susie B — Google review
The food is excellent except that the staff training could be improved. We were at this location in the morning and ordered breakfast and coffee. The staff at the register was cold and had this non welcoming attitude that seemed to deter any customers. We thought maybe it was the early morning syndrome (a little past 5am and we just got off the ferry from Haida Gwaii). After we finished our breakfast we went back again to order something extra for road travel, this time it was a gentleman at the register and he was clearly unprofessional and rude. I was standing in line as the last customer, but when it was my turn to order he quite bluntly asked me if I had cut in the line! I told him I was the last in line and now I am the first ready to order. Maybe it was because later more customers lined up behind me and the male server didn’t realize I was there earlier. To sum it up as Tim Horton employee he should be more mindful and courteous to customers. We are two international tourists and I hope this is not intentionally unfriendly gesture to us, and nicety and professionalism will bring more customers, not turn them away.
Carl W — Google review
I don't appreciate a 30 minute wait to be served every time I go here. 3 registers but only ever see one open and a line up out the door as staff are working on serving both foot traffic and app orders. Staff are always pleasant and food good. As much as I prefer Tim's over McDonalds at least McDonalds respects my time.
Deborah F — Google review
Your employees need to focus more on there work rather then taking to each other. And focus on one task not making 5 meals at once and half assing all of them... sitting there talking in there own language instant of paying attention tot here job.... your employees need some customer service Improvement
Kyle L — Google review
Ordered a coffee, donut, and sandwich. They hand me my donut and sandwich, then completely ignore me standing there for the next 5 minutes. Finally a slightly less clueless employee asks if I need something else, and stares blankly when I say I'm still waiting for my coffee.. Only tims in town...I suppose it is what it is when the only people working there barely speak English. Perhaps I should learn "double double" in hindi, or punjab.

Sukoshi Kitchen is a delightful gem in Prince Rupert, offering an impressive selection of sushi that stands out for its quality and portion sizes. The pork ramen here is a must-try, boasting some of the best noodles in town. Diners rave about the generous toro slices and crispy tempura, which are both light and satisfying. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who ensure excellent service throughout your visit.
Best sushi place in town! Staff are super nice, food is amazing, prices low! Truly a hidden gem of Prince Rupert! Couldn’t recommend any higher. Recommend the spicy salmon roll or the udon soup!
Patrick M — Google review
I've had a number of their sushi rolls, green tea and their ramen at this little restauraunt and each time the food was great. Very fresh and the ramen has a lot of flavor. The green tea with brown rice was very smooth. Near the end of the meal the tea was a bit heavy after soaking with the rice so long, but not bad. Customer service is good. Always quick to help, they check in on us during our meal and very kind and considerate. There is road parking right outside the restaurant but depending on the time of day, parking is usually taken. Its a small town though, you'll find parking somewhere along the road and it'll be a short walk :) Worth checking this place out!
Dwagonfwy — Google review
I’m gonna give this place five stars. For these reasons. Really friendly. Really clean. And it has this Japanese sushi restaurant theme down really well. I like it. Food had excellent presentation. It was fresh and it was delicious. I’ll be back for sure.

My daughter and I have been going to Sukoshi since the day the doors opened! One of our favourite spots to dine, the excellent food and amazing customer service! You feel like family when walking in and leaving (in the good way 😉) definitely a must for anyone who loves sushi, but they do have so many other options as well!
Tanya S — Google review
A nice little place when the pho place that I wanted to go to was closed. The quality of the sashimi was good with a nice firmness that is some times common with salmon and tuna from other places. The staff was quick and friendly and I would come here again if I am ever in the area
Hikaru S — Google review
As far as sushi places go, this is the best one in town for the price, portion sizes, and quality. Pork ramen was the best noodles I've had in Prince Rupert, and toro slices were huge for the price! Still a bit on the pricey side, but everything in PR is expensive. Will definitely be coming here more often!
Sally Z — Google review
The staff is very homely and welcoming. The food choices and quality was really good. For such a small town to have such an authentic Japanese cuisine is worth acknowledging. Wishing them best. And hoping to visit again
Hemant C — Google review
For a small town, it's not bad. The sushi is definitely above average. The service is friendly. As far as sushi in Prince Rupert goes, I'd consider this my go to. The tempura was crispy and light, the sushi is your typical reverse rolls, that seem to be the standard nowadays, for some reason.

Cocktail bar
Arabisk Mediterranean Cuisine, located in the Seal Cove area, is a cozy Middle Eastern restaurant with a warm wood interior and a nice deck for sunny weather. It offers delicious meals crafted with the freshest ingredients and has many plant-based options. Visitors have praised the warm welcome, magnificent view, exceptionally delicious food, and authentic Mediterranean flavors. The staff is accommodating to dietary restrictions, offering vegan options like falafel platter, sweet potato salad, lentil soup, and baklava.
This was part of a cruise ship excursion and I expected a quick lunch of an appetizer or two and possibly a glass of water. Boy, was I happily wrong! Appetizers, main, dessert - all absolutely delicious and unique. Likely the best food I've had the entire cruise through Alaska. Our group was treated like family and spent time talking with staff about the food and learning more about the meal we were all enjoying. If you have the opportunity to experience Arabisk, go in with appetites and they will gladly take care of you.

My experience at Arabisk was absolutely amazing!!! I've traveled all over the world and I can honestly say this was one of the best meals I've ever had! This is a family run restaurant and you can definitely tell they have a passion for making amazing food! Their passion also shows through the service they provide, as they explain what everything is and how they make it. The appetizers were fresh and delicious, the meat was cooked prefectly, and the Baclava was the best I have ever had! Arabisk should be on everyone's list of places to go in Prince Rupert!

The food at this restaurant is so yummy! So flavorful, bright and fresh! We had some of the dips which were all fantastic. I had the chicken plate. It was delicious and featured succulent juicy and well seasoned chicken with an assortment of sides - a great way to get a taste of it all! I also recommend the fish & chips! The fish did not disappoint - and the batter is slightly seasoned with dill giving it an extra oomph. Best restaurant we visited in Prince Rupert hands down! If I ever have the misfortune of returning to Rupert, I would definitely go again!

Update: June 14. This time, we tried the Chicken Shawarma plate and Lamb Biryani. Both dishes were very flavorful, and proteins were moist. I absolutely LOVE the hummus. The chicken wings appetizer was delicious. We got the lemon za'atar spice, which was a nice balance between citrus, sweet and salty. The amount of pita they serve with the tzaziki appetizer is questionable... so you'll likely need to order more pita - you get a LOT of tzaziki, haha. It's really good, though! This time, I tried the baklava dessert. It was so good. Crispy and sweet. Beautiful place to eat, delicious food and excellent service! The staff was very attentive during the visit. Food was very flavorful and tasted fresh. Noodles were perfectly cooked, in my opinion. Dessert went down so fast I didn't get a photo to share with you, haha. Dessert has a very sweet sauce on it but was a good addition to the creaminess of the rice pudding. I will come back! This place does not disappoint!
