Ridiculous Burgers is a great hamburger restaurant with amazing food and top notch customer service. The portions are massive, and the quality is superb. They accept credit cards and have free wifi. It's definitely worth checking out!
Gourmet burgers with an impressive and extensive list of burgers. You can pretty much get any burger you want. I ordered a grilled salmon burger with red onions, lettuce, avocado, etc. with a local beer (Terciopelo golden ale). My friends ordered a chicken burger (not sure what type) and a veggie burger with a local Summer Ale. Photos of all of these burgers are attached to the review. The burgers come with a portion of fries which was also food.
Nice open concept atmosphere here with pretty good service. I like the eating and drinking challenges you can participate in which is shown around the wall displays within the restaurant. The burgers took about 20 to 25 minutes to come out but the wait was worth it. The final bill included a 13% gratuity which I had not seen before based on dining in at the other nearby locations in Jaco, however, I would recommend this place to others to carry out or dine in.

Best burger ever. Juicy meat and huge bigger than my mouth lol very price worthy. MOSTER BURGER ATTACK. We love it I came back for a Crazy vainilla Shake delicious sweet and fully of delicious gummy bears and Chilly Chicken was amazing, best chicken breast filet. Love it thanks to staff.

I ordered the lobster burger after hearing rave reviews of the restaurant. The size of the burger is massive and was well-presented. Upon cutting into the burger, I noticed the avocado was quite brown and obviously not fresh. I was a bit disappointed by the restaurant not using fresh ingredients as most of the reviews on Google are quite good. The caramelized onions and lobster were both delicious. The service was quite slow as well with one waitress taking orders and making drinks.
After the initial post, the owner immediately reached out and offered $30 compensation for the previous meal. I went back the next day and had the rabbit burger, which was a unique experience. This was my first time to try rabbit, and the burger was delicious. I then ordered the vanilla vanilla shake, which Mariano made perfectly.
Mariano was absolutely fantastic and super accommodating during the visit. He happily answered all my questions about the challenges. The second trip to Ridiculous Burgers is how I anticipated the first trip to be. Big kudos to the owner and Angela for taking pride in their restaurant. It’s clear my trip was a one off and I would recommend Ridiculous Burgers to anyone during their trip to Jaco.
I visited Ridiculous Burgers a few weeks ago while on vacation, and I would’ve never thought I’d find such a delectable burger in Costa Rica. The burger itself was impressive — stacked with layers of flavor. The bread was soft, the patty was juicy and seasoned perfectly, and the colorful mix of veggies gave it a great balance.
It was actually my first meal upon arriving in Jacó Beach, and it set the bar high. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the wait was no longer than 15 minutes, which gave me just enough time to enjoy a cold beer.
I’d definitely come back to try a different burger next time I return to Jacó. Highly recommend!
Amazing shakes, frozen coffee, and food! The service is top notch and always with a smile! Very comfortable patio, chill music, fans to keep you cool, and great people watching!
Stale dry bun, precooked lukewarm pattie, wilted slimy lettuce, warm beer. Ordered french fries never got them.
I ordered the Tuesday special which was two cheese burgers for the price of one.
The burgers were very large. The buns were soft but not too soft. The pickled onions and their sauce was very good. The fries were crispy and fresh.
Our server was very polite and was able to get our order even though we didn't speak Spanish. It did get busy toward the end of our meal which impacted the time it took to get our bill.
I would recommend this burger joint to anyone who wants a great tasting and filling burger.

Jerah Thai Restaurant is a must-visit dining spot in Jaco. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, with the friendly owner providing great recommendations for diverse groups. The menu offers a wide variety of options, and the food is full of flavor with just the right amount of spices. The service is impeccable, creating a fun and laid-back atmosphere for an unforgettable dining experience.
Excellent Thai food! This was the best meal we had on our week in Costa Rica. Recommended to us by many locals. The food is fresh and served piping hot. Dishes are spicy so be aware of how your order it to be prepared. Portions are large. Service was great. The freshly made herbal teas were delicious. Make sure you aren't allergic to cats, there's no shortage of them here 🙂. If we get back to Jaco this restaurant will be at the top of our list. Everyone's meal was mouth watering!

Hidden secret getaway!
Food is fantastic. We tried a few dishes. The chicken skewers were amazing, but overall everyone was impressed. NO CREDIT CARD-CASH ONLY! Dessert samples is a must the Coconut Creme Brulee to die for!
Ask for Patrick and enjoy him and this place and the food. Cats are about the place but none we encountered were annoying, they just added to the uniqueness. Pad thai and Pad se yu (however you spell it) were sampled by a couple of us, your choice of protein, all dishes are gluten free so the kitchen is gluten free. My pork was a bit dry but the catch of the day shrimp was great. Try the herbal teas, any or all of them. Come hungry or expect to need to take home some of these large portions. Don't leave without getting some dessert. Crème Brûlée plate is over the top good, just skip the cookie. The cheese cake plate, same thing, really good.
I haven't been to many Thai food restaurants in Costa Rica, but this one tastes as good as any other I tried elsewhere. The big highlight is the Tom Yum soup... As authentic as it gets, they use herbs that are hard to find in local cuisine, and the spice level is enough to make you sweat, but you don't want to stop eating. Noodles are also great, and the staff is as good as they can be. Prices match the quality and you can only pay cash or electronic transfer.

And Patrick is a blessing to this planet - what an amazing person and has true heart and care for animals and people! I had the pleasure to learn more about his incredible story and ALLL of the cats and dogs he has! What an incredible place and human.
Also if you were to have told me there were OVER 25 CATS at the restaurant I would have come just to say hi to them!! This was a true surprise and made so many adorable kitty friends here including the sweetest kitty, Tigre! I was trying to actually find a Cat Cafe in Costa Rica and couldn’t find one, but this is even better!! This has the best Thai food AND a ton of rescue kitties too (and one hungry Raccoon :)!
If you’re a cat person and/or if you’re a lover of Thai food, LOOK NO FURTHER!! YOU MUST COME HERE if you’re near Jaco!! I just wish I learned about this place sooner than my last day in Jaco otherwise I would have been here everyday!!
To Patrick if you’re reading this - thank you so much for everything and sharing a bit of your story. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and all of your adorable furry coworkers :). I will be sure to be back the next time I’m in Jaco, and next time maybe we can surf some waves together!
…Also definitely consider marketing this place as a Thai restaurant + Cat Cafe and maybe explore the idea of Cat Yoga during the day… the amount of interest and love from cat lovers you’d get would be through the roof!!

Best food in Jaco. Fish fried spring rolls, pad Thai, wings, pad see ew, all of the curries. UNMATCHED. So fresh and delicious and the spicy sauce is so good, I have already been twice during my short stay and will likely be back.
Ate in once and had a great experience, got the food delivered and had a great experience. If you're looking for good Thai food in Jaco or anywhere nearby, do not GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!
This is a beautiful restaurant, and we love how they are helping the cats. But the food tastes like mall Chinese food. We’ve been to Thailand many times, and this lacks any authentic flavor. It was painful to think what else we could have eaten for $25/pp (entrees only). (That’s likely just the area, but in San José, we could have had fancy Argentine steak or nice sushi.)
We enjoyed our meal here. But you better like cats. They were in the chairs, under the tables, and scattered around. We brought our fresh caught tuna, and the chef prepared sashimi for an appetizer and tuna steaks (a bit too much sesame coating, though)for my main meal. My husband had fresh spring rolls and the pad Thai. All was good. The peanut sauce with the spring rolls was amazing. But the meal cost was a bit high. It seems all restaurants in Jaco are higher than other Costa Rica towns.

Located in front of Pops Ice Cream, Green Room Cafe Bar is a popular spot in Jaco Beach. It offers a relaxed atmosphere and serves brunch, dinner, and cocktails. With its two levels and four bars, the venue always has an energetic atmosphere.
I hosted a dinner for 13 people at Green Room, and it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, we received incredible service, and the food was absolutely delicious. Every detail was handled flawlessly, making the night feel effortless and special.
One of the highlights? Dance lessons during dinner! It added such a fun and unique touch to the evening, making it more than just a meal—it was an experience. The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and full of great energy.
If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience with amazing service, food, and a little something extra, I highly recommend Green Room!

From my friends neice’s recommendation, we came to Green Room for a vegetarian lunch. This restaurant serves a full menu with vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options available.
We were met immediately and had been informed that there was quite a wait because they were unloading stock and we’re running about 40 minutes behind, this was not of j concern.
It’s very hot today, so we sat outside with the fan and fairly quickly got to order drinks and fresh guacamole. When it came time to order meals, I asked if there was a recommendation before I ordered, suspecting I was gonna get the mushroom melt but was directed towards the vegan bowl or the vegan burger. Neither of those entice me so I went with my original thought. The server had no feedback, just saying that the other two were ordered more frequently.
My friend thoroughly enjoyed his tuna and salad, though the watermelon water was made early in the day, being fairly watered down.
I basically ate a grilled onion melt with a sprinkle of mushrooms and a piece of shredded mozzarella hiding between the bread. The onions were good, but that’s not what I was intending on ordering.
Also, I tried the Green Room Mai Tai, and while it was a nice idea, it had very little liquor noticeable and was more of a water down green tea.
Might try some other menu items again, but the service was not great, long weights with no site of servers, and they were obviously waiting for a very large group to come in because they disappeared completely once that group showed up.
If you are vacationing in Jaco, Costa Rica, You absolutely need to visit this amazing café! We stopped in for a last lunch while there and I wish I had learned of it before then. The food was delicious! The atmosphere is really neat. Featured is artwork for sale and it appears live music at times. There is home style furniture and tables and uniquely decorated restrooms.
I got a mint lemonade that featured fresh pureed mint leaves. So yummy! The food was delicious!

The only beautiful thing I can say about this place was the scenery inside. We had a horrible experience with our waiter, Emilio. He was rude from the beginning and never cared to check on us. We were never asked for refills or if food was good or missing anything. It was honestly the worst service in CR. We could never get his attention for anything, and he would ignore us. There was a waitress in the same area that was very helpful when we asked for help and it wasn't even her table. We we're truly disappointed after all the recommendations. Emilio was truly rude and had an ugly attitude. When I told him the issues, he just laughed. And to end for them to add 10% plus 13% for who knows what. Never again.
Our favorite breakfast spot in Jaco! Food is fresh, organic, they truly are "green" at this establishment. I love the bohemian theme & the fact that you can buy from local artists. Please go eat here if you are in Jaco for brunch. It's amazing!
I enjoyed the Green Room. The live music was good and rather laid back. My meal last night was not as good as some other visits. It was a bit overcooked for me although I ordered it rarer. The drinks were very good.
The Green Room in Jaco, Costa Rica: where the layout is giving “yoga retreat” and the vibes are chill… but the customer service? Cold enough to freeze your margarita.
They told me the food would take an hour—great, I thought, I’ve got time to mentally realign my chakras. But boom—20 minutes later it shows up like an overachiever on a deadline. I ordered the Gallo Pinto, and let’s just say… it was more meh-lo Pinto. The best part? The rice. Yeah, just the rice.
All in all, beautiful setup, comfy atmosphere, but the service had the warmth of a tax audit. I won’t be returning, but hey—shoutout to the rice for trying its best.

Ah, Playa Jacó! I remember my visit there. It really felt like a classic beach town, buzzing with energy. The beach itself was quite expansive, and I loved seeing all the surfboards – you could tell it was a popular spot for surfers, with those waves breaking. Even though it was a lively place, there were still moments of peace, especially with the beautiful sunsets over the Pacific. The palm trees lining the shore added to that quintessential tropical vibe. It was a great place to soak up the sun and enjoy the ocean.

Jaco is a small town on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. Its beaches are spectacular and the friendliness of Ticos is pretty good. I lived in this town for 1 year in 2011 so why not share my experience and photos from Jaco. Be ware of the waves!!!
Jaco Beach is an absolute vibe. Sick surf spot with huge, rolling waves and some seriously wild energy—especially at high tide. Whether you’re paddling out or just watching the action from the shore, it’s nonstop stoke. The beach itself has that classic laid-back Costa Rican surf-town feel—friendly locals, warm water, and golden sand that stretches for miles. Even if you’re not hopping on a board, it’s a blast just soaking in the scene. Great for surfers chasing a thrill and chill enough for beach bums just vibing out. 10/10, pura vida all the way
Not the cleanest beach but nice to walk along still. Pebbles and dark sand. Decent waves. The river meets the beach and makes for an interesting spot.

Beautiful beach from end to end. Great waves. Perfect for surfing beginner and up. The Northern end has a couple of larger resorts but the centre and Southern end have smaller resorts, private homes and that feeling of things being accessible, safe, and a community. People gathered to share sunsets. Two fellows pruning coconut trees stopped and cut one open for me without expecting anything but appreciation in return. Horse tours also available. Surf lessons. Or just jumping in the waves in a perfectly sandy beach. Watch for flags for conditions. Saw at least 3 life guard stations. Very clean save for the occasional doggie dodo.

Jaco Walk Shopping Center is a vibrant mixed-use development located in the beach-town of Jaco, Puntarenas. The first stage, inaugurated in March 2017, offers an array of commercial options including banks, pharmacies, restaurants, bars, fitness centers, and medical services. Visitors can enjoy open-air shopping and an ecological trail for a pleasant evening on the town. The upcoming stages will feature a boutique hotel and a beach club along with residential areas and hotels.

A small open air shopping mall with stores, restaurants and ice cream. It’s nice to come and look around. They are dog friendly.
Its very convenient and has safe parking. Lots of yummy restaurants! Try the cacao steak at Grafitti or the nacho fries at Hamburgesia. Also on Wednesdays the frozen yogurt place has 2 for 1!! definitely try the fruit pearls, they are flavor explosions in your mouth.
Took a pit stop here to cool off while exploring the area. Very trendy and offered a variety of shops to stop in and explore. Too cute!!

While in Jaco we stopped by the open air mall, but were too early and nothing was open.
There were a variety of shops and mostly services with ample parking, but we appreciated seeing a bulk food store committed to reducing waste and selling quality goods.

Beautifully designed outdoor shopping center with more then 10 restaurants/food bars/cafes/ice cream places to pick from, outdoor and indoor seating. Live music and family activities, banking facilities, gyms and yoga studios, attorneys and insurance agency, rental agencies, bike rentals and car rentals, pharmacy and lab work, dentists and beauty bar, interior design, surf shops, art exhibits....this shopping center is basically a one stop shop. Offering secure parking, fountains, play grounds in a clean and welcoming environment that is family friendly. Love it here!

Observation deck
Perched high on Mount Miro, the El Miro viewpoint in Jaco, Costa Rica offers a captivating blend of history and natural beauty. The remnants of an extravagant mansion atop the hill exude an air of mystery, with each stone telling its own tale. Visitors are treated to breathtaking views of Jaco and Playa Hermosa from this vantage point. The old mansion, adorned with tall pillars and adorned with street graffiti in some areas, adds to the allure of this ancient ruin.
This hike is wonderful and straight up!!! Has two good rest stops with amazing 👏 views and sometimes monkeys🐒 at the top. I suggest hiking boots or good running shoes. Watch wear you go the trail isn't perfect but they got two spots for trash. Remember to leave it better then you found it. My favorite part Dogs are welcomed ☺️!!

Had my first-ever horseback riding experience at El Miro in Costa Rica, and it was unforgettable! The trail had steep inclines and cliffs that added just the right amount of thrill for a first-timer. My horse, Gierllo (I think!), was a little stubborn at first, but thanks to the amazing guide, we found our flow and ended up a great team. The views were absolutely breathtaking and made the whole ride even more special.
Pro tip: Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes — and trust your guide, they’ll make sure you feel confident on the ride!
We hiked to El Miro Observation Deck in the evening, and it was the perfect time to go. The first part of the hike is a bit steep, but our 7-year-old managed it with no problem. By the time we reached the top, the sun was setting over Jacó Beach—absolutely stunning. The hike back was easy since it’s all downhill.
Along the way, we enjoyed vibrant murals and scenic viewpoints. It’s a peaceful, safe spot to take in nature and get some great photos.
You can park right at the mouth of the trail, and there was someone there watching cars—we gave them a few dollars for peace of mind. Everyone we met was friendly.
Tips: Bring bug spray, wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and be prepared for heat and humidity. This is a great, free activity for families or anyone who wants to enjoy incredible views and a touch of local art. Highly recommended!
Free hiking trail up to a beach view. The hike is up hill to a abandoned hotel that lost its funding and now is a really cool hike and hang out up at the top. The cool thing is you see all wild life monkeys, birds, frogs, etc on the hike up. Its well worth the hike to go see it.

You can park at the park g lot that has some attendants, street, or close by.
Make sure you head up the steep paved road as we when up a private drive at first. The hike is a gentle slope and the rainforest is amazing.
Keep left and go down the broken ceramic trail to the hotel.
The top is killer!
Very long walk up. Almost two miles up. This is all supposed to be free, but you pay for parking. 3000 colones. Put on good sneakers. Great views. Recommended
If you are staying in Jaco and want to do a very light trek, accompanied by the best views of Jaco town and Jaco beach, this is a must. Add the mystery of this abonded place and time well spent is guaranteed.
My wife and I visited El Miro near Jaco, Costa Rica, and it was amazing! It’s an abandoned mansion turned into an art-filled jungle spot with incredible ocean views. The hike up is short but steep, and the mix of graffiti, mosaics, and nature makes it super unique. Perfect for photos and chilling out. Wear good shoes, bring water, and go early to avoid the heat. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Nestled along the road leading to Miro Mountain, the Mirador de Jacó is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring this vibrant area of Costa Rica. This viewpoint boasts an iconic JACO sign that serves as a perfect backdrop for those Instagram-worthy photos against the stunning beach scenery. While walking to the viewpoint may require navigating some uneven terrain along the main road, adventurous visitors can also venture down through lush forest paths towards the sea, where they might encounter playful crabs and colorful parrots.
Great spot to catch a sunset!! There is a Jack sign and a little walkway with other things to see. There are a couple of lots to pull over and park.

Our car trunk got broken in as we stopped by this spot and went down the trail to the sea level. I would highly advise any tourist to be extra cautious (as I type this note while filing a report in the police station..). As we thought through the entire process here, the burglar(s) were waiting in a car stopping at the deck and watched us go down the trail before opening our trunk in some way (there was no sign of damage). Just be very careful of your belongings and bring your passport etc with you all the time.
The Jacó Overlook is a must-visit “instagram spot” as the wife calls it. It’s super easy to notice and park at (just on the side of the road) and it offers stunning views of the city and ocean inlet below and of the surrounding countryside. Also, I’m not sure why but there’s also a Buddhist looking statue which seems odd, but honestly not out of place with how peaceful the views are.
One easy to miss thing is the trail that leads down to the ocean. While it’s a bit tricky in parts, it’s manageable and absolutely worth the effort, especially when you reach the bottom.
Whether you’re stopping by to snap some photos or just to enjoy the hike, it’s a great spot any time of day to stop; from morning to sunset.

Stunning Views and a Must-See Spot!
Mirador de Jacó offers an absolutely breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean and Jacó Beach. It's a great spot to watch the sunset, capture beautiful photos, or just take a moment to soak in the scenery. The lush hills surrounding the area make the experience even more special.
There's a large statue of Jesus that adds a peaceful atmosphere, and it's nice that there's a bit of seating if you want to relax for a while. Parking is available, though it can get crowded, so it’s best to arrive a little earlier, especially on weekends.
Highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Jacó!
THE PERFECT SUNSET SPOT! Come here and sit and enjoy the sunset from the back of your car or on the bench and enjoy the glorious views over the Pacific Ocean!
The views from here are spectacular and worth a quick stop for a picture or two.
This "hike" follows a steep inclined driveway to an AirBnb and then a dirt road path with more steep walking. Do not get discouraged, it is worth the walk. Be sure to take lots of water and your camera as you will NEED the water and want the photos.
There is a man at the base of where you park that you pay to "guard your car." He also offers cold coconuts and there is a small shop for refreshments.
There is a walk down to the ocean behind the sign. We saw the prettiest sunset from there. Very romantic.

Hola Indian Restaurant Jaco offers a decent and fast service with authentic Indian food. The outdoor seating area is great, but the prices are a bit high. The chef from Delhi ensures an authentic taste with dishes cooked in a real tandoor oven. The garlic naan is freshly baked and delicious, and they offer a good selection of drinks including lassi. While dining in provides a 5-star experience, takeout may not be as impressive.
We were told this was a good Indian restaurant by our VRBO host here in Jaco. Of course I love Indian food and had to try but honestly I was Sus... STOP the BUS!! The food was Fire! Amazing!! Unbelievable!!! We ordered a Mango Lassie 4 out of 5, Chicken Seekh Kebab 5, Butter Chicken 10 out of 5, no seriously it was, Garlic Nann 5, Bullet Nann 5, which i have never had - it was a spicy nann and it was SPICEY!! All flavors were on point and portions were perfect. I am really impressed and would never had guessed a place so good was in Jaco CR.

For starters, we appreciate Dhanveer for his friendly and welcoming service. We met him the night before and his energy definitely made us want to come today. Expensive. 2 pm light meal of 1 entree, 2 lassis, naan cost us >$32! Yes, pricey, but yummy yum👍😍 No other diner at the time. The chef prepared the naan at the drinks counter-- yummy smell too.
We had a dine in and take out experience. The dine in was 5 stars. The food was really good. The takeout was a 3 star experience. The naan was chewy and the chicken was dry. Although the masala was still very good. Can definitely recommend dining in. Don't do takeout. It's also not the cheapest option. The seating is outside so there isn't any AC. It was pretty hot when we had lunch.
It's rare that Indian food in other countries tastes authentic. The food here was very decent and service was fast and friendly. The outdoor seating area is great, even when it's very hot outside. The waiter asked how spicy I wanted the butter chicken I ordered, and he did not disappoint. Definitely spicy enough, even for an Indian. The only negative about this place is the cost of dishes. I think it's pretty overpriced for what it is, but it's also one of the only Indian restaurants I've seen.

Amazing and authentic Indian food in the most unexpected of places. The friendly cook is Indian and from Delhi and makes the best dishes. They have a real tandoor oven and which ensures authentic taste. The tandoor vegetable platter was amazing as was the mixed vegetable curry. The garlic naan is spot on and served freshly baked. Good selection of drinks including lassi. Friendly and helpful staff.

Morales Grill is a delightful dining destination that offers a variety of dishes sure to please any palate. During my visit, I indulged in the tenderloin steak, linguini with shrimp and chicken, and small lobsters topped generously with garlic butter. While the steak was decent, my kids absolutely loved the linguini, and though my wife isn't fond of garlic, she found the lobster to be satisfactory.
Really good seafood! I had the medium order of lobster and it was delicious! Friends tried several different dishes and the octopus from the large sampler dish was excellent, probably the best octopus I've had anywhere else, highly recommended!

This place is Costa Rica’s hidden gem—no exaggeration. I stumbled on Morales Grille on my last day like a plot twist in a feel-good movie, and now I’m mad I didn’t find it sooner.
The atmosphere? Straight-up perfect. Comfortable seating, TVs in every direction, and music that had me vibin’ before my food even hit the table. And the food? Whew. Let’s just say it was so good I caught the spirit of James Brown—I was doing the splits in my soul. Every bite had me dancing like, “I feel good!”
But what really took it to another level was the service. Friendly, fast, and on point—it felt like they weren’t just serving food, they were serving love on a plate.
I seriously wish I had eaten here every day of my trip. Next time I touch down in Costa Rica, Morales Grille is my first stop—no questions asked. Thank you for ending my trip on a high note. Y’all are the real MVPs!
This checked all the boxes for the perfect place to eat. This place feels like something out of a movie—a stunning beach in a tropical paradise, complete with delicious food and so much more. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Service is friendly but slow. The food is good. Since it’s in the open, vendors will walk up to you and even a mariachi band walked through hoping to get hired. I liked having the ability to see the food cooked and sit outside watching tourists and locals.
Don't order the Red Snapper! It was way overcooked! The head was still on it, but I can live with that. The meat was hardly there and burned to a crisp. They wouldn't discount it, either.
The food is great and the service was ok. Had to make multiple request for items that were ordered. Possibly this happened due to language barrier but the server spoke mostly English in our presence.
The ambiance was amazing nice open seating and you can watch the cooks on the grill which is the first thing you see when you walk in. The price is up there considering the competition. This place was a one night out place. Definitely cost to much and not superior enough to choose it over other options.
Had the tenderloin steak, linguini with shrimp and chicken and small lobsters dinner. The steak was ok, the kids enjoyed the linguini and the lobster seemed fine. Comes with a lot of garlic butter on top. Wife is not a fan of garlic so couldn't say much about lobster taste.
Service was good and fast, we were there on a Monday night.
Prices are typical tourist area.
Steak was 9300, lobster 19000, linguinis 7000 1 beer and two water bottles. About 100 dollars total.

Wow...Isla Restaurant in Jaco blew me away. The food is absolutely delicious, and the fish soup is out of this world. You have to try it. Super delicious local cuisine. My partner and I started with the tuna ceviche which was amazing, came with a side of crackers. We followed up with a chifrijo and a cascado de chorizo. Both were delicious. The chifrijo came with chips and the cascado came with rice, beans, plantains and etc. it is a bit out of the way from jaco centro but it was near our hotel and we loved it as our last meal in Jaco.
Great food at fair prices. It's just steps off the boulevard. The whole red snapper is a wonderful meal and enough for two.
They have some very good 7 and 12 year old rum at very good prices.

Please read in full, we really wanted to love this place, they weren't ready. Our concierge made reservations for our group of 40 for my 50th birthday dinner here, they simply couldn't handle it. We were provided 2 (TWO) servers for our group (of 40) we told them numerous times to be sure that they'd separate the orders (checks) of the various parties (they didn't) which caused a disaster and for many ruined the night and while experience. The food was good, but for many came out wrong (my steak came out wrong 3x, as did others). I will say the manager (I believe) tried his best to accommodate and provide a good experience, and he was very nice, but the simple fact that it LITERALLY took over an hour or more) to simply pay is crazy. We had reservations after dinner which had to be moved and many of our group just went "home" due to the lengthy and quite exhausting wait and "check out" experience. The wait staff was friendly, I will say. I'm sure if you go as a couple or maybe group of 4, your experience might be a good one, this is sonly for our Large group experience. You'd figure when you have reservations for 40 they'd be prepared for it, they were not.
This was a really special celebratory meal with my fiance and her mother. We dined outside to the sounds of the waves. We could see the ocean. We had mushrooms, steak, tartar, sauces and more. Everything was on point and perfectly cooked. Our meal was amazing! Ricardo was on point and made it really special! His recommendations were exactly what we wanted! He was awesome! The desert he recommended (apple pancake which was I think crème buleed) with homemade dulce de leche ice cream was over the top!
Me and my girlfriend came here for our one year anniversary. The service started out good we ordered drinks the server told me about the surf and turf special which I got. My girlfriend ordered the penne alla checca pasta. Our food came out I ordered my steak medium and it came out almost rare. My girlfriend did not like the pasta so she was going to order something else. Our server NEVER came back after 40min of trying to wave him down he finally came over at that point we were just ready to go. I told him she didn’t like the pasta and asked for a box for mine so I could try to heat it up at home to cook it longer. He brought the check and we asked why we were still charged for the pasta when he took it back he said because there was nothing wrong with it. I’ve been a server for 8 years and this was the worst service I’ve ever had. If I would have known we were still going to be charged for it I would have just taken it with me and I myself would have just ate it for lunch tomorrow instead of paying for something we never even ate. I’m so disappointed by this experience. Paid $210 for poor service and food we didn’t even eat.
After leaving the beach, my friend and I stumbled upon this spot and decided to finally have some fish during our stay — and honestly, it turned out to be one of our best choices.
We started with the fried calamari appetizer, which came in larger chunks than usual but was crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. The sauces and lime on the side tied it all together perfectly.
For drinks, I went with a Flor de Caña served as a double on ice alongside a small pitcher of Coke — I liked the touch of being able to mix it to your liking. It hit just right.
The main dish was the star: a whole fried fish with a perfectly seasoned, crispy exterior and tender meat inside. I enjoyed it so much that I devoured it down to the bones. The green rice, sautéed vegetables, and seafood sauce on the side complemented everything nicely.
Just know that if you sit closer to the beach, you’ll likely get interrupted by vendors passing by, so sitting a bit further inside might make for a more relaxed experience.
Overall, great food, good vibes, and a solid seaside spot worth checking out.
Had an amazing experience here. Allan provided excellent service. There is a really nice wine room and has a/c and the deck has good views of the beach. Great old fashions and the tuna sashimi and flan was delicious.
Marketed as a steak and lobster place, was incredibly unsatisfied with the lobster. $80 USD for a tiny and mushy small piece of lobster. I ate here last night and the food was great. I started out with the chorizo. It had great flavor. And for my meal I had a beef and shrimp skewer with rice and grilled vegetables. It was delicious. The staff was great and the open air and view of the beach and sunset were amazing. It is an expensive place to eat but I felt it was worth the price.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the east side side of town. Start the day off with PuddleFish Brewery, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Mono verde. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

PuddleFish Brewery is a lively spot located next to Graffit, offering a combined menu from both establishments. The brewery serves gourmet pub fare such as nachos, wraps, burgers, and fish sandwiches. Happy hour runs from Monday to Thursday and Friday evenings. The atmosphere is laid-back with a bar vibe and offers delicious chicken wing starters, tuna tataki, and fish tacos.
Fantastic local craft brewery in Jaco. I think between my wife and I we tried all the beers on tap and liked them all. Great facility, with lots of room inside and out, family friendly, great staff. Excellent food also, the wings are probably the best I’ve had in many years. Would definitely be a regular here if we lived in Jaco

Great place to stop for a good micro brewery on your way to or from San Jose. Favorite beer is the brown ale and their tuna fish burger and fries are delicious. Service is great and the proprietors are friendly and are eager to let you try beer samples.
This place was amazing. The beer was unique and tasty. We drink lots of craft beer all over the world and this place is definitely worth a visit. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect for people of all ages.

Read carefully, don’t stay here. This place looks nice, but actually it’s terrible. It’s full of people who want to party and look cool. They play music loudly until 11pm as a rule, and don’t turn it down if asked to.
My shirt was stolen from the drying rack, then when I asked staff about it, they said they didn’t know, but then the shirt magically appeared 30 minutes later.
The kitchen is way too small for the amount of people here and always in use. The sink is clogged and full of food and dishes. The refrigerator is always warm, so your food goes bad.
The bathroom plumbing doesn’t work correctly.
The room AC is only on 9pm-7am, but they play music until 11pm, then everyone is in and out until midnight, so prepare to lose sleep.
Go somewhere else and pay a little more to be relaxed.
Another great stay at Room2Board. Brian and his stuff are simply amazing, friendly and very helpful. The bar is very nice, food and drinks are reasonably priced. Perfect location for surfing, walks to El Miro and to the center of the town. Will definitely come back.
Highly recommend staying here. Clean rooms and a great staff. Pool and bar area were a lot of fun. Took surfing lessons for the first time and the instructor had me surfing to shore in no time.
As a girl who’s had bad experiences in Jaco, I was very happy to find a place where I felt safe. I felt at ease here. It was safe, clean, quiet, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hostel, and it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality by the staff. The service was impeccable throughout my stay, with the team always going above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed.
The atmosphere of the hostel was fantastic - it had a vibrant and welcoming vibe that made it easy to connect with fellow travelers. The common areas were cozy and inviting, perfect for socializing or simply relaxing after a day of exploring.
The location couldn't have been better. Situated in the heart of the city, it was within walking distance of all the major attractions and surrounded by great restaurants and bars. Plus, I felt extremely safe throughout my stay, thanks to the hostel's excellent security measures.
And let's not forget about the food! The hostel's restaurant served up delicious meals at affordable prices, making it easy to fuel up before heading out for the day.
Overall, I can't recommend this hostel enough. Whether you're a solo traveler or in a group, this place ticks all the boxes for a memorable and enjoyable stay. I'll definitely be returning on my next trip!
I booked the private ensuite, because I wanted my own bathroom. Unfortunately the shower didn't have any hot water so I ended up having to use the public bathroom anyway. When I told the staff about the hot water, they said they would look into it, but never did. I also emailed the owner about it after I left, but he never responded.
Location is unbeatable. You can watch the sun set into the ocean and hear the waves from the roofdeck. Staff is super friendly.
I found that a lot of people spend multiple weeks if not months here so it seemed like there were large established friend groups of the long haulers and then a few solo traveler stragglers on the side. I would not rank it in my top hostels to make friends. Bar and restaurant were nice but the place right next door has much better food.

To start, this place has a beautiful view of the ocean!! We saw people surf and walk along the shore, we experienced a dog take a swim in the swampy water off to the side of the restaurant. Great views!
So then, the food… the food is very well presented, but is not great. For me, it seemed quite overpriced and under-seasoned.
The Coconut Mahi-Mahi was solely the best part. The Patacones with meat were void of seasoning and difficult to eat. This experience instilled in me a desire to return to one of the cheaper, less-try-hard soda shops around. If you’re looking for a luxury food experience, you may want to consider other options.

El Point Jaco Beach has an unbeatable location right on the beach — the sunset view alone is worth stopping by. They also have a solid happy hour from 4–6pm, which is a nice bonus.
That said, the service was pretty slow, and there are a lot of dogs and cats roaming the area — one dog even urinated right next to an empty table, which was a little off-putting.
As for the food, it was hit or miss. The Caribbean Mix Seafood Soup didn’t have much seafood, and they didn’t provide claws to crack open the shells. The Caesar Salad’s chicken was extremely salty, and the tenderloin steak actually came out raw the first time, though they fixed it. On the bright side, the Caribbean chicken was tasty, and the smoothie was decent.
Overall, it’s worth visiting for the atmosphere and sunset, but I’d manage your food expectations.
I'm not a fan of seafood, but the tuna fish my wife got was simply good. My mother in law ordered pasta with shrimp and she said it was good. However, my risotto was average. The chicken was not tasty and the risotto itself was too liquid, its flavor was fine though.

We chose this restaurant for the views of the beach at sunset but were blown away by the delicious food and cocktails. We did not make a reservation and were able to walk right in for a table on the beach. They had happy hour specials as well as a full list of specialty cocktails. Everything we ordered was delicious. The food was also tasty. We had the nachos which were piled high with so many toppings you needed to ask for more chips to finish it. The coconut mahi mahi was spectacular as was the steak and the seafood sampler. You cannot go wrong with this restaurant, especially with the beach/sunset views.
El Point serves some delicious cocktails. The piña colada was amazing and the food was nice. The restaurant is in a nice location, right on the beach, so it’s a great place to come for sunset (but it’s quite busy at this time). Service is poor - despite there being 5-7 waiters behind the bar not doing anything, they leave you waiting for a while before coming over to help, even if you’re standing right at the bar!
Perfect spot for an evening meal and cocktails right on the Jaco beach. We were able to reserve a table for 6 using Whatsapp and it was waiting for us when we arrived. We got there to be able to watch the sunset and were even able to get some happy hour cocktails. Service was excellent and our food was great. Highly recommend!
The place is right next to the beach, so you got a beautiful view of the ocean and the sky. The service was okay, it was quite slow, but the restaurant was packed.
The food was amazing. The nachos were amazing, the portion was quite big and they were tasty. The patacones also came in quite a big portion and they tastes real nice as well. The fish tacos tasted good, but the portion was small, it consisted of only 2 medium tacos.

From the time he picked us up from our resort to the time he dropped us off he was the model of professionalism as a tour guide. He also has a unique sense of humor, is laid back and is the personification of Pura Vida. If there is a better adventure tour guide in Costa Rica than Lombar, we would be very surprised.

Amazing experience! The Extreme Canyoning tour is physically challenging but SO MUCH FUN! One of a kind experience and location. The location is very remote. Be prepared to get dirty and wet and have a blast doing it! The team did a great job of making this extremely dangerous adventure feel safe and secure. Wilson and Joaquin are extremely knowledgeable and confident in the entire course and every step was supervised and administered safely. We had seven teenagers and myself in our group and they managed to instruct us, keep us safe, and have a great time all at once. I highly recommend this tour!
Booked this during a family vacation (my wife and I and three kids, 9-16) and it was worth every penny and then some. Out guide, Joaquin, was friendly, informative and attentive, and made sure we all had an amazing time. We got picked up downtown Jacó and then took a minibus trip halfway up the mountain to a little gorgeous village where we had a delicious homemade lunch. Then into the "jungle limousine" (refitted Toyota Hilux with canopy seating in the bed) for the next leg of the trip - all the way up into the mountains, past some breathtaking scenery. Joaquin stopped to tell us about the local flora and fauna that we could see as we passed by (vanilla vines, a berry related to citronella, some scarlet macaws, toucans and even a poison dart frog!) and then helped us every step of the way down to the incredible waterfall pools where we spent the afternoon feeling utterly refreshed, then back up and back into town at the end of the day. An absolute highlight of our trip, and STRONGLY recommended if you're looking for a way to spend an afternoon experiencing what Costa Rica has to offer!
My daughters and I had a wonderful experience. Our hosts Lomar and Joaquin were fantastic. They were friendly and kept the jokes flowing. They were very knowledgeable about the local area, wildlife and eco system and shared their fascinating knowledge with us. They encouraged and coached my daughters through the rappelling and made us all feel comfortable. They were also patient with me as I hesitated jumping off the 30’ edge into the river below. What an amazing experience. I can’t exclude the wonderful meal we had back at base camp, a traditional meal of rice with chicken and plantain chips. It was delicious. I would recommend this experience in a heartbeat!!
We had such an amazing experience! Wilson and Joaquin were fabulous. We were a group of 14 with one as young as 5. They assisted us through the tour and helped our children jump from each location. The water is beautiful at all of the swimming holes even the cold water jacuzzi lol. They were kind, patient and encouraging through the morning hike. I would highly recommend this trip.

A little steep and VERY slippery, but 100% worth it to experience the beauty of the waterfalls! What really put our experience over the top was our guide, Joaquin. I mean it when I say he is the kindest, warmest tour guide I have EVER had. He held my mom’s hand literally every step of the hike and took things at her pace. He was also so knowledgeable about the plants and wildlife and taught us all kinds of things along the way. A fun, thrilling and beautiful day that we will never forget.
Got to do the tour with Wilson. Enjoyed a typical CR breakfast courtesy of Shirley and her family. Then went up to the waterfalls. Wilson is funny and knowledgeable. The tour is beautiful! Highly recommend!

The young lady, Nay "Natalie" Monge, that greeted us & served our table was very nice & helpful. We will definitely come back. Flavorful, fresh, and delicious! My family drove through Jaco and decided to try— we went at lunch time and it was not busy at all.
I got the chicken skewers with salad and veggies. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in Costa Rica. Definitely give this place a try!
Wow!! 5 star all the way it has outdoor and indoor dining. Delicious delectable food and specials everyday. The lobster gratin manifique!!! And the red snapper wow!!! This was our last (and best) meal in Costa Rica after being here for 3 weeks. Carlos and his colleagues looked after us so well and the food was AMAZING, as was the Shiraz Wine.
Only minor complaint was the wonderful Ravioli was a bit of a small portion, I think it was only 6 or maybe 7 (large) pieces, but fortunately we had a starter, otherwise it would not have filled me up.
Had a great time. We just went for a few drinks and a appetizer.. the mariachis came and it’s always a must to get at least a song or 2…!!!

This place came at the recommendation of Sergio at Ecolirios (check out that review), Carlos is the owner of Mono Verde and he was welcoming as Sergio had told him we were headed that direction.
Drinks were cold and the dessert was wonderful
To be honest, based on the reviews I expected more. The garden salad was really nice and flavourful. Avocado stuffed with shrimp was interesting, but not spectacular. Tuna steak was mediocre: the tuna itself was really good, but the rice that came with it felt old (dried and flavourless) and the sauce was extremely salty. The waitress forgot about one more dish that I anticipated the most, but I was already full to reorder. I had a mojito which was nice. There was live music outside. We preferred the inside sitting (A/C, street odors and less "spirits of the night").
The restaurant is seated on the main street, close to the beach. Did not see any street parking available.
The final bill (not the one on the picture) already included the service tax of 10%, but had a hand written comment "tips in cash please". I did leave an additional tip, but coming back to think about it: it ain't nice! Taking down a star for this.
Overall, there was nothing special about this place that might cause me to want to come back
P.S. I understand there should have been "specials", but we were not informed about any.

For those hot beach days this is the spot to go too. Get the banana split and try there smoothies too. I like the different flavors they have to offer and the variety ways they can mix stuff up for you. I am happy you really get your monies worth here. It's great they have flavors I have never seen in the US before.

Really good flavor and variety. Their sundae is probably their best value.
We enjoyed the sundaes, good portion and fair price, however while eating in the seating area we were confronted by a couple with a very large dog that insisted on sharing their political views in a very aggressive manner. In a few minutes everyone cleared off of the patio. The couple said they go there every day so I would advise the owners to do something or they may drive away business.
Good gelato considering you're in Costa Rica! We got the chocolate vanilla in a waffle bowl and it was good. They were quite busy but the staff was friendly and let us sample a couple of flavors. 👍

The atmosphere was fantastic—warm, inviting, and perfect for dining on the patio. For drinks, I had the Fresa Limonada, and my partner had the Mojito Kiwi Fresa—both were REALLY good, super refreshing, and full of flavor.
For food, I ordered the Fish and Chips, and they came out hot, fresh, and perfectly crispy. Everything was well-prepared and delicious.
Overall, the service, food, and drinks made for an amazing experience. I would definitely return here and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Jacó!

I got the two tacos in my husband got the three tacos and they both come with the salad bar. You can choose difference proteins for each taco.
Nice ambience. They have these great swings that you can sit at at the counter unfortunately, we were unable to try them because it was raining and they were wet. We were quickly seated and a nice waitress told her that she’d be with us shortly. They were kind of slammed for a rainy day and two ladies working. Food comes out as it is made so we all received our dinner at different times. It took White a while for our drinks to arrive. All in all the food was good. Vanessa was a great waitress and was kind enough to allow me to substitute my country fries for sweet potato fries. If you happen to be in, it’s a nice place for lunch if you like Mexican food, my son loved his burrito

This coffee shop is so great super easy for parking and in a great location down town Jaco! The food and drinks were delicious. We had the breakfast bagel which was amazing and the waffles! They have a wonderful big menu of fresh made to order breakfast options which is not always thee case at coffee shops. The shop has a nice atmosphere is open at 6 am (which is hard to find around here) and there and the staff is super friendly and accommodating! I totally recommend for a delicious breakfast or coffee. They even gave a little treat to us for my sons birthday 🥳 which was so nice. We will be back!!

I definitely like to try new places when I travel. We went here for breakfast after going surfing. I ordered 2 of the same thing to go, which came with coffee or orange juice. I asked for orange juice for both orders. While I was sitting waiting for my food, she brought 2 cups of orange juice with large ice cubes in it. I was disappointed because I already knew I wasn't getting much orange juice. I drink it anyway, and less than 5 sips it was gone. So, I took the other cup back up to her and asked her if I could get it with no ice. She spooned the ice out, and instead of filling it with orange juice, she poured it in a smaller cup and said no ice you get a smaller cup. I looked at her and that cup and said your cheating me because I didn't want ice. With an attitude, she took it back and got me an original fresh cup of orange juice. For me, this experience rubs me the wrong way, so I will avoid going back. Today, we went to Mary's diner and got a nice cup of orange juice with no questions asked. I recommend going to Mary's diner. It's small but cozy!
Best coffee in Jacó! No confusion if you stray in your requests - a cappicino ( versus the milk heavy latte). Food is great including the Keto breakfast. They quickly recognized us as repeat customers which is so nice! Highly recommended. When we were searching for a construction company to do an addition to our house the builder (Jose Pablo of Ximetrix, an exceptional and reliable builder!) gave us Alex (Jet Fuel owner) as a reference - he was really nice which follows why this place is so wonderful! We also got connected by them to a super helpful tour guide - Alejandro, to drive us to SJO airport and pick up on our return. All so very good!

Hotel Club Del Mar in Jaco, Costa Rica, is a captivating beachfront retreat where relaxation and adventure come together. The property features an outdoor pool overlooking the ocean, a restaurant serving delectable local cuisine, and a spa offering rejuvenating massages.
Where to begin? Everything was wonderful! The staff couldn’t have been nicer. The pool perfect with shaded loungers, ocean views, and a tiki bar. Our room was clean and spacious. We had a one bedroom condo with ocean view on the 2nd floor (room #1). Parking is included and is located within the gated part of the property, so we felt like our car was safe. The sunsets are amazing and the gardens are beautiful with flowering plants and shrubs everywhere. We ate breakfast here twice and dinner once and a few poolside meals as well, and everything tasted great! I especially liked the fish and chips made with Mahi Mahi. Our condo had a coffee maker with a built in filter so we just bought a bag of ground coffee from a convenience store. The only complaint I could manage would be that there can some road noise when the large trucks use their engine breaking. Also be aware that it’s a little bit out of town. Not really a problem for us. We would walk into town on the beach and then usually Uber back. The Ubers were easy and cheap (around $2.50 plus tip). There’s surfing available at the hotel and horseback riding just a short way down the beach. Like I said, there’s so much to say! We loved our stay here and were sad to leave, but we’ll definitely be back!

Overall, we loved our stay. Great views, pool, and beach access. Staff was friendly and attentive. It’s close to the road so you do hear trucks, but it’s not too bad. Watch your fingers if you try to feed the iguanas!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Club Del Mar. The rooms were beautiful and many let out right onto the beach within a 2 minute walk. We took great advantage of the large well lit pool both at night as well as during the day.
If you take advantage, the spa is wonderful and we had a great couples massage.
What really shone more than anything to us were the overwhelmingly kind and attentive staff. David from the moment we got there was incredibly gracious from the start in showing us to our room up until our last few hours. Jason went very much out of his way to help us make our return flight home after a freak accident closed down the highway to the airport, as well as helped me celebrate my partner’s birthday with a few small surprise gestures in our room.
I can’t praise the staff enough. Everyone was kind, attentive, and informative from the servers and bartenders all the way up to management.

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Royal Butterflies. Not quite as popular as Jaco Beach, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Beautiful spot with a nice little hike around the area with a river. The butterfly exhibit is very peaceful. We air bnb the treehouse which gave us a wonderful experience being nestled up in the trees. What great nature feels this place has. Not to mention the host and his family were very kind with a lot of knowledge about the area and Costa Rica. Defiantly a great spot for family's and friends !

We had a great time at the butterfly sanctuary! Dan speaks many languages and is very knowledgeable. He answered all our questions and taught us a lot of interesting things. We also had time for ourselves to take in the experience and take some pictures!
Dan is super knowledgeable and we had a great time learning about the butterfly habitat and exotic plants. Definitely worth a stop! The grounds are beautiful and he also built an incredible Airbnb "treehouse". Thank you so much for a great tour!
Dan is very informative and interesting. We’ve been to a few butterfly worlds and Dan is the best of guides. This his dream on a one person scale. We love being able to support his passion and help butterfly populations recover.

Really enjoyed it, was a wonderful experience and lots of cool ideas throughout the course, I'll definitely be coming back to do it again! I like the idea of being in the trees, and as for weather conditions whether it's too sunny or raining, you're sheltered for the most part. Phenomenal instructors, they're very patient if you're scared and help you out if you're troubled, they're very humorous and know how to make you feel comfortable and safe. I would give the course a full ratings
The ropes course was okay, and we also did a horseback riding tour with them which was fun. Neither activity was overwhelmingly entertaining, but they were both safe and more or less what was advertised. The "Mountain and Beach Horseback Riding" didn't actually involve any riding on the beach, only on the mountains, but it was still nice. We had to wait 40 minutes to start the tour though, because they weren't ready when we showed up at the time we had signed up for. The ropes course was pretty much what you could find at any other ropes course in the US or Costa Rica, and it wasn't super thrilling. That being said, the staff was very nice and attentive, and we got a good deal for what we paid.
Just had my daughter's birthday here. We had an amazing time. Robert and his guys are very professional, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We had a blast. Thank you again
Really nice adventure park nestled in the jungle but conveniently located very close to town. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, honest and outgoing. The surf board zip line is awesome and worth the entrance price alone!
If I could give it less than 1 star I would. This place is a rip off, I booked the ropes and zipline 2 weeks ago they never showed up and now they won't answer my calls or emails for a refund. You will get taken for your $$$ do yourself a favour and don't bother with this place. Don't walk, run away from this place. The other reviews are written by the owners of the scam. You will also notice there is no place on their own website for a review that should tell you the story..

Jacó Farmers Market is a popular spot in Jacó, especially on Friday mornings from 7 am to 2 pm. It offers a wide variety of fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, spices, jams, and hot sauces. The Jacó Farmers Market was such a fun stop during our trip! There were stalls overflowing with fresh, colorful fruits—everything looked and tasted amazing. We also picked up a couple of souvenirs here for family members, and I’m glad we did because later we saw the exact same items elsewhere for double the price.
The market had a friendly, local vibe and was easy to walk through. It’s a great place to get a taste of Costa Rica’s produce and pick up reasonably priced gifts.
If you’re in Jacó on market day, I highly recommend visiting—come hungry, bring cash, and enjoy the fresh flavors and great deals.
It is smaller than I expected a lot smaller than Atenas. Most produce vendors are from distributors, but there are a couple of locally grown which is nice. There are sausage, juice and meat vendors for food choices. Also some craft booths with handmade trinkets.
What an amazing Farmers Market!! So fun and lots of vendors. We bought a lot of our food for our stay in Jaco from the market. I also bought a number of great books to read from Susie’s Used Books right at the entrance to the market. It’s definitely a must see in Jacó.
Greta place to get your weekly produce. Just remember to walk a round each first and get prices, some will be more expensive than others and some items are better to get at the más x menos because it’s cheaper. I also ate at the food stand of Graciela who served typical food from Costa Rica 🇨🇷 it was delicious 🤤 most vendors are there by Thursday 6 pm ish to Friday. There are a few vendors Thursday morning (including Graciela who also sells breakfast)
Friday morning is my favorite time in Jaco to go to the Farmer's Market to shop. 7- 2pm . Some of the vender are there Thurs evening as well. There is a wide variety of foods and other local products available. Fruits , Veggies, Spices , Jams , Jellies, Hot Sauces, Breads, pastries, Homemade Bagels from Eric , Dan the Meat Man has amazing Meats , Home Cheeses , Farm Fresh Chicken , Fresh Squeezed Juices, Plants , clothing and local art. Great local market: small but has everything you need. Among standard veggies fruits cheese, some small nice treats like handmade cosmetics and gluten free / lactose free pastries.
This is a great place to get what you can get at Mas por Menos in town. Fresh veges and fruit that the regular grocery doesn't carry. Also, fresh orange juice squeezed right in front you. I pass by this place everyday on my way to the beach when I lived in Playa Jaco.
Go early to get the organics and because everything runs out fast. Great is you want to cook from scratch, things like spaghetti sauce because you can get tomatoes and everything you need in bulk, and for a little less than the regular stores.

I loved the cheese vegan burger with seitan schnitzel. And I'm waiting as we speak for the same with the lentil patty. The bread is very nicely toasted which gives it just the right amount of bite. It's not a soft bun, nor a hard baguette. It's like a harder type of hamburger bun. The tomato slices were large and the lettuce was so fresh. You can see them cutting the onion and caramelizing it for you. Which doesn't make them so soggy and greasy. The items were well placed on the bun, so it didn't fall apart when I ate. Plus I enjoyed the ratio of the ingredients. Enough sauce, but not too much.
I had one to go, wrapped in aluminum foil and a paper bag. Stayed warm all the way home. And one at the diner which has yet to arrive. Staff speaks very good English and are happy to explain the items to you.
Vegan burgers like these are hard to find. Only one other vegan deli in Barcelona was as good as this one.

Tour to Manuel Antonio-Ronald was excellent! Very informative and was able to see and show us monkeys, sloths and other animals. The transportation was excellent, pristine van, a/c was great and driver was excellent! Make sure you take a non-plastic water bottle, as the park does not allow plastic water bottles, no food either.
Eat a good breakfast, as lunch is well after 1pm. Lunch was OK, was served hot. Pork chop was really good, chicken and fish was flavorful but a little dry. We would definitely recommend this tour!!

I visited Jaco the first week of July, 2025. I have to highly recommend Jaco tours because of how helpful and above and beyond they went. I wanted to do several activities like zipline and crocodile tour, and asked a lot of questions about cost, ride to/from, best times to do the activity, weather delays cancelations, how I can get a ride back to the airport, can I leave my bag in the car and I was just blown away at their detailed, lengthy and complete responses covering EVERY detail that I was concerned for. I changed my mind on things, changed destinations, price shopped and they literally helped me every time. They are fair with prices and provided candid and honest suggestions. They picked me up, waited for me, made custom stops, all included in the price they gave me. To top it all off, a week after I arrived back home, they messaged me to send me a second angle of crocodile footage where I touched the crocodile tail! This was priceless and reflective of how they genuinely care for the experience you have. I had a fantastic experience with Jaco tours. They picked me up from airport, drove me to Jaco. Recommended fantastic dining and leisure activities. Facilitated my zipline and crocodile tour, and drove me back to san jose from crocodile, a custom request they were happy to do! Definitely contact them, they conveniently use WhatsApp.

Think of him as a concierge who can see to it that your trip is nothing short of amazing. He has the best reccommendations and many relationships with local vendors. He has yachts, tours, transportation, and hookups for anyting you need to make your trip more enjoyable!
We had an amazing day with Jaco Tours yesterday! We were a group of 8 and travelled to Carara National Park. They picked us up from our condo and drove us to the park. They were in constant contact with the tour guides at the park to ensure we would see the most wildlife possible. The drive to the park was smooth and seamless. They offered to make stops to accommodate us and pointed out local sites and points of interest along the way.
Pick up from one point of the park to another was prompt. They provided us with a delicious snack of fresh fruit.
Upon dropping us off they stayed in Jaco to provide us taxi service to and from our dinner reservation at an exceptionally reasonable rate.
It was easy to communicate in English with the Jaco Tours company also which ensured we were getting exactly what we wanted.

I unfortunately had a bad experience with Jaco tours back in January. My friend and I booked a tour to go to Manuel Antonio National Park. The day before we were supposed to leave, Jaco Tours cancelled the tour. We requested a refund, as we weren't the ones who cancelled. Jaco Tours confirmed we would get refunded the full amount, yet we never did. To make matters worse, I spoke with a representative on the phone who was very rude and said he'd call us back someday with refund information. Since then, my calls have been screened and no refund was ever received. I do not recommend dealing with this company when there are so many others in town.
The driver was great. We stopped halfway to the park so that we could get coffee and pastry. The guide was nice and helped us see and photograph animals through his telescope. I would have liked a little more time for a leisurely walk through the park and I really wanted to do souvenir shopping but no time was allotted for that. Lunch was good at a nice restaurant with a great view.
Great tours, booked with Denilson. He was very attentive and super helpful. Our guide Denilson went over and beyond to accommodate of our needs and help us book amazing tours. We had a fantastic time on the tours. We book ATV/ zip line/hike to sunset and Manuel Antonio Beach tours with mangrove Monkey tours we ended the tours with a delicious meal at the Airplane restaurant. Thank you Jaco tours and Denilson for all your help and making us feel welcome in Costa Rica, we will definitely use this tour again.

I had one mission while in Costa Rica: Find the BEST Tres Leches Cake 🍰… AND THIS IS THE PLACE!!
It was so good that I had to come here almost every day to get more! The cake was absolutely delicious and perfectly moist and sweet!
Also the prices are very reasonable ($2-3 for cup of coffee!) so if you need a snack or a place for breakfast, this place is PERFECT! Highly recommend if you’re in Jaco!
BEST DONUT EVER! I don't speak Spanish so I didn't want to ask about a few pastries so I went with a donut and one other item. I'm not big on donuts because they usually taste greasy and don't have a lot of flavor, not these. This was the best donut I've ever had. We even went back our last day to get them again. My son also said the croissants were the best he's ever had. Don't skip this bakery.

We stopped here on our way back to San Jose to grab a quick lunch. We ordered 2 empanadas and 3 churros. The churros were so good we went back in and bought more before leaving. The empanadas were also so good and so filling!
Nice little bakery. Great selection of sweet and savory and very fresh. They have good deals near the end of the day. It's set back from the road a bit and in a really busy spot on the roadway. Not saying that as a negative review of the bakery.....just more FYI because we missed it on our first try. Just look for the crowd. That should tell you something.

I normally like red sangria but the white one was actually tastier. Also, the recommended cab from Chile was good. They do have certain bottles of wine open if you want to order a glass. This place is opened by an American. Don’t forget to tip here.

We absolutely loved dining at Graffiti Restro Café & Wine Bar! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, which set the tone for the whole evening. The drinks were delicious - expertly mixed and refreshing. But what really stood out was the food: fresh seafood and fish, prepared with care and flavor. The ambiance is lovely - relaxed but elegant, perfect for a memorable night out.
This restaurant is incredibly delicious! High notes were the cacao & coffee rubbed beef tenderloin, and try The Elvis for dessert! It is a crispy fried French toast pastry with bananas and peanut butter with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We tried it off of the recommendation of our wonderful server, Brie. She gave us some of the best service we had on our entire Costa Rica vacation. Try this place out, you won’t regret it!
Stopped by Jaco on our last night at CR and grabbed dinner at Graffiti Restaurant. Our waiter was super friendly and very welcoming. Restaurant itself and its surroundings is quite clean and inviting. We ordered the airplane chicken special, poke bowl, and chicken tenders. They offer a kid menu which is a plus. Our food came out fresh and delicious. Happy hour prices on drinks is a bargain. Only down side is they don’t have their own restroom. You’d have to use the restroom serving the plaza.
The menu is unique and the food is delicious. I recommend the beef tenderloin, the Cajun fries, and the fish tacos. We also had a bottle of Merlot which paired well with everything. Overall, the restaurant has a really nice vibe and located in a great area.
Ive visited this restaurant 3 times over the last few years and it never disappoints. This time however, was exceptionally good. We started with the tuna tar tar tower, a few Caribe-tinis and had Churrasco with mashed potaties and tempura veggies, and the pork ribs with grilled veggees and rice. We finished with the french toast banana dessert. Every bite was incredible and the textures and flavors make this place feel like a Michellin Star eatery. The decor and vibe is urban trendy and the staff projected the same chill energy. Caveat..it is one of the most expensive restaurants in Jaco, but the overall experience was well worth the price.
Loved it from the moment we walked in. There may not be a beach view, but it’s in the back of an adorable pedestrian courtyard and has really cool decor full of plants and paintings.

Cocktails were delicious. We had at least 5 different ones, and each one was fantastic. The toasted cocktail rim on the coconut margarita was truly special. Great wine options too like the French rosé.
Loved the food as well. Candied pork belly appetizer is crispy and so prettily plated. Chicken stuffed with pear and Gouda and bacon is top notch. Mahi filet was tender and juicy. House salad is huge and really flavorful.

Tsunami Sushi in Jaco Beach is hands down the best sushi I've ever had! I've dined in top restaurants worldwide, but Chef Mario's artistry in the kitchen sets this place apart. Each dish is a beautiful presentation of fresh ingredients, with incredible flavors that truly delight the palate.
The specialty rolls are a must-try, showcasing his innovative combinations. The atmosphere is inviting, and the service is top-notch, with attentive staff ready to offer great recommendations.

This place was actually quite unique. It’s a bit different from your typical traditional sushi spot, but being in Costa Rica, you can tell they’ve added their own local fusion twist. It’s hard for me to label it a full five stars since I’ve been to Japan and tried some of the most exceptional sushi, but I honestly don’t have many complaints. The service was fairly quick, and I especially enjoyed the seafood trio with their signature mango sauce — that one really stood out. I’d definitely return to try more from their menu.
This is a must for Jaco! They accommodated gluten free very well, the waiter checked with the kitchen and came back to me with options for accommodations. The best sushi I have ever had, and reasonably priced as well.

I have been coming here for years and unfortunately, I came tonight and had the Worst experience of my entire life. My wife felt completely uncomfortable with Sebastion as our waiter And I 100% agree with her. When we came into sit down, he didn’t say a word to us To show he doesn’t have any personality at all….we ordered our drinks and he would not get them hovering over the table so we proceeded to try to order our sushi rolls and he literally would not leave we had to tell him that’s it please put our order in. Now me being a male, I usually don’t feel that uncomfortable, but this guy should not be working for a restaurant and if he was working for me, he would be gone after tonight. We were gonna come back tomorrow, but there’s no chance.
Love the atmosphere, very inviting and authentic. Went twice and the service was good, quality of food excellent one time and great the other. Tuna app is unbelievable! The variety of rolls is impressive but wish they had more authentic or complimentary sauces for these rolls. Fresh and quality but could go the extra step to truly make the experience exceptional.

We stopped at Rayana for lunch and were the only customers there. The server was very nice, albeit not very good at checking back with us if we needed anything. I got the chicken rice which was absolutely amazing, and the French fries were the only ones I had during my whole week in Costa Rica that I really enjoyed. My husband was disappointed with the jumbo shrimp though, which was a bummer when it ended up costing around $25. He also had strawberry smoothie which was very blah. All in all it was a nice place to enjoy a quiet meal, and had we had the time we likely would have gone back to try new things.

Came for dinner on a Sunday night. Read amazing things about the Ceviche so was super disappointed when they said they were out. We ordered Fish Tacos, Burrito Bowls, Chicken Burrito and Onion Rings. Everything was delicious! Pico served with the tacos and burrito was fresh and delicious. Assume this is the same Mia for the Ceviche. Would highly recommend! Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfall is a hidden gem that offers an enchanting experience for nature lovers. Nestled in lush surroundings, this garden boasts breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and a stunning waterfall. Visitors can marvel at the diverse array of plants and trees while spotting vibrant wildlife like macaws, toucans, and parrots. The welcoming owner and attentive staff enhance the visit, making it feel personal rather than touristy.
Took a spontaneous drive to Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfall and it was so beautiful! The drive up was steep, but safe. Road is paved, but there are some narrow parts and steep drops, so best to be aware of surroundings and other cars/motorcycles when making the drive. We pulled in on a Friday afternoon and had the place to ourselves. We were charged $10/each for 4 to walk the grounds. There are a few paved paths to explore the gardens and an overlook to the waterfall. You aren't close to the big waterfall, but it is still very pretty to see. After walking to the waterfall overlook, we walked the stone paths around the property and soaked in the amazing sights and sounds of the rainforest. Some pathways are steep, so take good walking shoes. One of the workers told us there are monkeys and sometimes scarlet macaws and sloths. While we didn't see any, we heard howler monkeys and captured some amazing pictures of flora and scenery. It's clear they work very hard to maintain the gardens here.

It was ok. We couldn't get down to the garden due to the path was so steep and slippery.
Went during the holiday, so traffic was horrible. It took us twice the amount of time to travel there. Once there the scenery was fabulous, just amazingly breathtaking. We had dinner. Watch the sunset It was an open bar. because we arrived late we were given the opportunity to come back to see the garden as a courtesy. Hospitality was amusing, a little bit of comedy and quite a learning experience for a few people.
Waste of time and money, avoid this place. I understand the landscaping needs to be turned over depending on the time of the year-I’d expect the people running this to be understanding as well, and not charge if there’s nothing to see other than the view seen from every other place on this road. Place was deserted, as images depict. Restaurant was closed, place was empty, viewpoint was eaten by termites and unstable-the other path overgrown and missing stairs (yet not blocked off, odd-yet makes sense considering the state everything else was in). I asked for my money back and the woman at the door did not oblige. Until the owners send me photographic proof they have invested in the property I’ll leave this review up.
I was surprised when I passed another person on way in that said the place ‘used to be nice, however they have really let the place go and it’s kinda sad’. I thought he was being dramatic since I had read several other recent reviews-until I took a walk and wasted my time, see images, it was more depressing in person (considering I invested $20/pp too take the self guided walking tour). I would consider going for free if I lived here and there was no charge…but to pay for this? Unreal!
The word beautiful isn't enough. The garden is awesome! Then, there is the platform where you can view the waterfall and a spectacular view all the way to the ocean. Just stunning! You are still pretty far from the waterfall. You aren't playing in the water. We were greeted by some wonderful staff and the owner. It caters mostly to tour groups, but you can go there on your own too. It's $20 usd to get in. When you see what kind of work would go into maintaining the property, you will understand why it costs some money. Totally worth it in my opinion!
This a truly a wonderful garden with a delightful owner and helpful staff. Fabulous views and interesting trees and plants. As for the birds there were macaws Nesting in the garden and sitting in the trees. The view from the little restaurant was magnificent. You could see right across to the Pacific ocean and the waterfall in front. Well worth a visit on your way to the airport from Manuel Antonio.

We were here on an excursion from our cruise (Oceania’s Vista). The countryside and flowers are incredible! Mr. Stannard and his wife have done an amazing job with the grounds. After our trek through the gardens, we had a very nice lunch and time to visit with the owners.
Gorgeous place, variety of animals and waterfalls. Frog tour at night with Michael was amazing. His pictures could be in a magazine. Tucan feeding and sloth feeding as well. Amazing experience for the family.

Very beautiful hike with lots of nature. On the way down we saw scarlet macaws and some sort of small ground bird. We also so beautiful black-and-green poison dart frogs and very large millipedes! The waterfall was so beautiful. Be prepared to sweat and get muddy and sprayed by water as you get close to the waterfall. You must have cash to enter the hike.

Went on a Monday had the whole trail/ waterfall to myself! Was an amazing experience. It did end up raining really hard mid hike and one of the guys came out on a ATV to rescue me!! The sweetest people ever work here! Only $20 per person def worth it the view is amazing hike a little difficult if it’s wet out.

Bijagual Waterfall CR is a hidden gem that offers an invigorating hiking experience away from the usual tourist trails. The trek to the waterfall takes about an hour, but be prepared for a challenging descent and an even tougher climb back up, which requires a decent level of fitness. Along the way, you'll encounter stunning views and two natural pools perfect for cooling off after your hike. It's advisable to start early in the day as temperatures can rise quickly, making the trail more demanding.
Beautiful trail hike to the Bijagual waterfall and nearby natural pools. About 4k of the hike was on a dirt road suitable for hiking, ATV tours and horseback riding. To get to the falls, you had to go an additional 900 meters (and 600’ vertically) down and back up a single track trail. We enjoyed cooling off in nearby pools with additional smaller falls. Bring plenty of water! Highly recommended.

Our Bijagual Waterfall tour was nothing short of magical. From the moment we mounted our horses—Zorro, Pinto, and Raton—we felt a deep connection to these gentle giants. Dennis, our guide, was absolutely fabulous. He guided my two friends and me with care and humor, ensuring we were safe and informed the entire time. His expertise in horseback riding and his genuine love for the animals shone through every moment—our horses were calm, responsive, and unlike any I’ve ridden before.
The ride took us across lush rainforest trails and through a cool river crossings. When we dismounted and hiked the final stretch, the sight of Bijagual Waterfall—towering nearly 600 feet of pure, cascading power—left us breathless.
After the hike we returned to our horses and took a short ride where we cooled off in crystal-clear pools, surrounded by serene jungle ambiance, making the hot climb worth every step .
What made this experience truly unforgettable was the connection fostered by Dennis. His gentle rapport with the horses and the way he explained their temperaments and care made us feel part of something meaningful. The whole adventure felt intimate and authentic. My friends and I left with exhilarated hearts, full of gratitude, and a longing to return.
If you're looking for a blend of adventure, nature, and heartwarming interaction, Bijagual with Dennis is a must. I recommend it 100%.
I hike often in the US and found this trail moderately difficult. Going down was easy, coming back up was a bit more challenging, but only on my breathing.
I had an amazing experience at the Bijagual Waterfall tour with Enrique as our guide. The hike was adventurous and came with breathtaking views all along the way. Enrique was very knowledgeable and informative, sharing insights about the area and making the journey even more enjoyable.
Be prepared though the hike is quite exhausting, so make sure to bring plenty of water! I opted for the meal package, which was absolutely delicious and well worth it after the trek. The natural pool at the base of the waterfall was incredibly refreshing and the perfect way to end the hike.
Overall, it was a challenging but unforgettable experience. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for adventure and stunning scenery in Costa Rica!
The horseback riding was great, our guides were nice and one of our kid were having a hard time hiking down and up to the waterfall and our guides were so being patient with us and wait until she is ready to continue her hike. The horses were great and they are very smart
We had a great time on the trail. Spectacular views of the waterfall where we encountered rain forest birds, frogs, snakes and other local animals in their natural habitat. Relaxing in the natural pools was perfect after hiking the moderate trail.
Bijagual Waterfall sits on a private reserve. Expect 3 hours for the hike on a road-like trail that crosses the river to the waterfall trailhead. The narrow and steep waterfall trail is a series of switchbacks with rope rails. As you wind through the mountainside jungle, keep your eyes peeled for dart frogs, millipedes, lizards, birds, and other wildlife that surround. Along with the buzz of the jungle, the roar of the waterfall grows louder as you descend down the trail. The hike, while not easy, is rewarded with the magnificent Bijagual Waterfall. The climb out is where the difficulty really weighs in; there are a few steep steps where the rope rails were useful to literally climb up . Our group of 5 range in age from 17 to 56 in fairly good physical condition, and we all rate this hike as difficult. Due to the difficulty of the hike, I can only guess that few get lay their eyes on Bijagual, and we are happy to count ourselves among the few.
Not for the weak hearted! Make sure you wear comfortable shoes that might be disposable. The place is gorgeous, the guy was friendly, the place was beautiful!
Great Experience with Alexander and his team! We got lucky and were able to book an afternoon Horseback Tour the morning of our desired day. Very responsive and good communication.
The foot trail is best suited for those with some hiking experience, but can be done by those without if you have the right amount of patience and water! The pools were very refreshing after hiking to see the amazing waterfall. We jumped in several times and the cool water was very refreshing!
Horseback was our preference as the trail getting to the waterfall foot trail is lengthy and could be tiring for some on the hotter days. We had 2 adults and one 10 year old (his first time on a horse) and had no trouble. Our guide was very helpful, patient and accommodating to all skill levels.
The horses were good-mannered, knew the trails and seemed to be well cared for by the owners. This was one of our favorite experiences of our trip!

I would give this more than 5 starts if I could.
To find this adventure go to AirBnB and search for activities to do in Jaco. This hike comes up under the title: Hike ten waterfalls with locals. Emanuel is the host.
This hike was beautiful. Coco was our guide as well as Lucy his dog and 7 other rescue dogs. Lucy hiked with us for the entire adventure while the other dogs joined and left as they pleased. Their purpose is to scare away snakes and pumas.
Coco was very knowledgeable about the wildlife as well as plants. He pointed out poisonous frogs, cocoa trees, banana trees, plants that taste like licorice and citrus, different types of lizards and birds. He led us to different waterfalls that became more beautiful as the hike went on. He brought us snacks for different stops along the way and specifically made sure to get a snack that was only available during the season we visited.
It is a bit challenging at points as you use ropes to help pull yourself up the hillside and there are not railings other than where there are stairs. I wore hiking sandals, another person wore hiking shoes, and another sneakers. Just make sure you have something you are okay with getting wet and has good traction. Bug spray was not needed. We did swim in the pool and jump from different places so be prepared to get wet!
Highly suggested as it was a personalized trip! And if you get Coco.....ask him about the dinosaurs :)

This tour was one not to be missed while in Jaco! I had a top 10 life experience on this hike with Emanuel, in the rainforest, to the MANY waterfalls - beauty and power of these waterfalls took my breath away! Emanuel is so knowledgeable and we learned much about Costa Rica as well as the many types of flora and fauna found in this region. We also spotted a few different types of frogs (don't lick them!), spiders, ants, and birds. Emanuel is passionate about nature and Costa Rica, so if you want to learn more about either or both, I'd highly recommend this hike! You will definitely get wet and this is certainly for folks who are active and moderately coordinated, though Emanuel will keep you safe along the way. Thanks so much, Emanuel!

The guides ensured a safe and enjoyable experience, while the scenery left us speechless! The customer service is beyond what we could have ever imagined. Had such a fun experience! It was our first time paragliding and I was shocked how relaxing it was. View is incredible and we even saw a red macaw! The crew was super nice and all seemed to love the sport.
You meet them at this location on Google. Then once everyone has arrived, they drive you up in a car. They may need to wait until the wind is right. They then clip you in and you’re off! Super easy and highly recommend.
My boyfriend and I did the 1500 feet option. It was so beautiful and such a nice smooth ride. We both had a great time and agreed it’s was our favorite part of our trip so far and we are on day 8! Highly recommend! The staff was so nice as well as experienced. We also saw a toucan our first of the trip!

We did the 3 hour tour today with Ramiro. Such a great experience. The waterfalls, the soda (restaurant) at the top of the mountain had amazing food and just riding through the rain forest soaking it all in! Highly recommend these guys if you are in Jaco!!!

If you are visiting Jaco and want to do an Atv tour, this hands down is the best one. My husband and I have been all around the country, we’ve done many different Atv tours, and this one is our favorite. I recommend booking the 4 hour one or full day. The route you drive is so fun and gorgeous, the lunch is delicious. And I love that this is a private tour, just you and the tour guide. Also, all of the guides and staff are so friendly and kind. Absolutely amazing experience ! Our tour guide was Owen and he made us feel special right off the bat! We did the 3 hour waterfall tour which was amazinggg! Best thing I’ve done in Costa Rica! Owen took pictures and videos of us the entire way which was an awesome bonus! On the way back my bag opened up without me know and my car keys along with other things fell out and I didn’t realize until I got back to the place and Owen was the most humble sweetest human being ever and he went back to the waterfalls re tracking our steps and I said no way he was hon s find it , he returned with the car leys !! PURA VIDA! God is good ! Thank you so much for your hospitality and humbleness ! We will back to horse back ride next !
On our third day in Jaco Costa Rica my family and booked an ATV tour! Our family did the 4 hour ATV experience and it was a blast! From the novice riders to the more experienced riders in our group, we were all made to feel safe and comfortable. Tony was our guide and he was awesome. The views along the way are breathtaking, the lunch provided was delicious, the waterfall experience was incredible and everyone was super professional and attentive. It was one of the coolest experiences we have had as a family and we definitely recommend!
The ride of a lifetime…… we booked the full day atv tour and our tour guide was Tony. He was amazing….. He grew up in the area and knew all the back roads and special places others would not know. We spent time riding in the beach, saw some macaws 🦜, then off to the mountains. We rode in a huge circle in the rainforest and mountains, stopping at a couple of waterfalls to swim and take pics. We stopped at a amazing soda up in the mountain overlooking a valley… the food was great, but the views.. wow
Tony was amazing, definitely 10/10 experience, he always made sure we were same, and stopped for any pictures or questions. Would definitely ask for him if you go. Our tour started at 9 and ended at 5, you definitely got your moneys worth…

The first two words that come to my mind when I think about this tour are breathtaking and unreal. Literally, the views are all unique and just wow! Joey was the best tour guide ever. He really enjoys guided the tour and you can see how passionate he is. He took the time to show us the farm and educate us about many things. I really enjoyed the fact that we did not only ride ATV's, but we also did SO much more. He took our group on one amazing and unforgettable journey in Costa Rica. We were able to see wildlife, jump from a rock into the ocean, explore private beaches, and way more. The tide was low so we were able to visit 3 caves, which was super cool! The four-wheelers are all in great shape and run smoothly. The farm was easy to find. I am so thankful we found Joey and this tour because it truly made our trip so much more worth it. The price was also better than fair! I highly recommend this tour to everyone in Costa Rica. IF you don't do it, you are missing out big time.
Backcountry ATV Tours was an unforgettable experience. The trip was about 3 hours maybe more of riding on the beach and in the jungle on a mountain. If the tide is right you get to jump in a tide pool and walk through a natural cave. We saw a sloth and a toucan and more! Joey, our guide, gave lots of information about the plants and wildlife and he offered to take pics and videos throughout the trip timing them at the right moments to catch spectacular footage. He truly loves what he does which made the experience amazing. His automatic ATVs are easily handled even if you have never driven one. He gives a practice mini lesson till you feel comfortable too. Just do it!

Delicious Gringo breakfast in Jaco
Don't get me wrong, living in Costa Rica, we have grown accustomed to Tico breakfasts of gallo pinto and eggs. But there is a restaurant in Jaco with a breakfast menu consisting of comfort foods from home in the States. Pancakes, omelets, toast with homemade jam, delicious potatoes and a pot of coffee, not just one cup. This has become a favorite of ours if we are in the Jaco area. My husband always wants to stop at the pink Sunset Breakfast Place to get his fix. Give it a try if you are in Jaco! Life is good in Costa Rica. Pura vida

Hit the Sunrise Breakfast place for our first day in Jaco for some breakfast as a group of 6. They were very nice to ask another group to move to another table to make room for us. The menu had lots of options we liked and after ordering we waited quite a while for our food and didn't all come out at the same, but that's life down here. We all enjoyed our food and speaking with the owners who were also from the U.S. Nice easy place right on the main road. We may be back.
One of the first places we had breakfast when we moved here. Nice food and service and great customers. My biggest complaint is I don’t like whole wheat toast … but, I wasn’t complaining. Overall, it was a good breakfast. I’ve since been back for their pizza. Stick with the breakfast.
We dined here for our first breakfast in Jaco during our seven day stay. The food was ok and service was a bit slow. This is a very local breakfast experience which we wanted to try. We did experience heavy rain that morning and though the rain was wetting parts of our seating area, no one made an attempt to or suggested moving the large bench style table. We eventually got up and moved it ourselves. We had some mixed feedback from the five diners but given the slowness in service and the fact that the potatoes are deep fried, it’s not somewhere I will revisit. There’s much improvement needed with the facility and service.
The best banana pancakes known to man! If you are looking for a real breakfast, don't miss this spot for a quick quality meal with great service and good food. We will definitely return for those pancakes!
They charged me more than the price shown on the menu when it was time to pay the bill. The waitress excused herself by saying that the menu she gave me didn’t have the updated prices. Also, the food wasn’t good—there are better places out there. I paid 100 euros for 2 pizzas, 4 hot dogs, and 3 beers.

If you are looking for a delicious and reasonably priced Costa Rican food this is the place to go! They have a wide variety of set dinners that look really good so I would recommend trying them out. Just be aware that they do not provide any English translations of the menu, so if you don't speak Spanish it may be difficult to order correctly!
The most authentic restaurant I experienced in Costa Rica. The staff was extremely friendly and all had that motherly cooking love. Enjoy fresh food served by locals for locals. Just blend in. First place I ate and, on drive back from Uvita this was my last place too!! The atún was simply amazing!!

Service was really bad. Food was OK but they definitely charge Gringo prices. 4500 for Gallo pinto and eggs. Waaaay to much. I used to come here all the time but as a white person when you don't see prices posted be prepared for the Gringo tax. I won't go back. Rústicos is much better and more affordable. Soda Garabito is as good and the same breakfast is 3000. Costa Rica is already too expensive without being charged extra... And I've been coming to Jacó for 30 years. So bye bye Marea Baja. I hope you are happy losing business
The simpler was nice and relaxing. It wasn't too loud even at the bar. I had the teriyaki chicken. It was good, crispy, tasty, not overwhelming 9/10. It can't with veggies, extra sauce, hot sauce on the side, and chips. Two thumbs up.
You can get a dish for 5,000colones, the food is nice and they have different options. There is a salad bar, and with your dish you get refill.
I'm an American, I must say this first. It's a nice and clean place they have serve your own juices, I didn't care for them just not my taste. We had to go plates. They serve you rice, your choice there are two to choose from. Then different kind of meats you can choose from and a stuffed tomato that was good. There is a good amount of choice and amount you get for the money. I would not come here again because it was kind of bland but filling and quick on a budget.
A must stop if you're driving you highway 34. Our driver recommended that place for lunch (on the way from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio). Our criteria was - fast, cheap, local and good quality. This place fit the bill nicely. We went for buffet - you choose your meat and sides, and you can go several times for the salad bar, fruits and soft drinks. The place was packed with locals. I loved their seafood choices (shrimp and fish). Highly recommend to stop there.

Reasonable prices as with most of these local sodas. Great food no fuss.

Amazing experience and worth the adventure getting to. I drove in from the south and my SUV only had front wheel drive but fortunately it was dry and hadn’t rained yet. I would not attempt the drive in a lightweight vehicle or without AWD if it’s raining. You’ll probably end up stuck. The food was incredible, the service was quick and kind and the views were majestic.

My friend and I were on a ATV tour and our tour guide took us here for lunch. This place did not disappoint. The food, service and view of the mountains is superb! I can’t wait to come back!!!! I had an empanada mixed with chicken, cheese and beans. That was the best empanada I ever had!!!!!!
Yes it is an out of the way place but on top of the world with a great owner, cook, and Wood fired cooking that is down to earth real tico food. Catching the views during the rainy season can be tricky but the experience is so worth it, if the views don't pan out on your first attempt. You will go back up the hill again once you meet Senora Marta and her food. She does not speak much English but she smiles in every language. If you have a bilingual friend have them ask Ms Marta how she ended up at this location with her restaurant.
This was the most authentic meal! This was absolutely amazing and so beautiful. We used Piko Travel and he suggested we eat here and it was spot on. Family owned small business and they cook with fire right in front of you. The scenery was incredible, this adorable rustic restaurant was on the very top of the mountain. Loved it!! Best food anywhere!
Our group saw Rancho Shadday on YouTube. Great views, lovely people, and delicious food! It's a little bit of an adventure getting there from Jaco, but well worth it! Empanadas not pictured but they were very delicious as well!

WARNING - if you're driving from Jaco, dont take the shorter path. The drive is dangerous. You need a good SUV, dirt bike or a truck to make it up there. If you take the drive on the short path just dont turn back. Going down would be worse. Google maps will try to take you this way because its shorter. You can first drive to a town called Lagunillas and then have google maps direct to Rancho Shadday. Drive from Jaco will take about an hour but its much safer. Now overall the food is great. Fresh taste, best empanadas iv ever had. And the view is great. A must visit place
