Steak salad is amazing. So tender and flavorful. The fish was the best my husband has had. There was a musician in the courtyard outside of the restaurant was an added bonus!

Highly recommend if you’re in Jaco and want great food, fantastic staff, and a cozy yet stylish spot! We absolutely loved dining at Graffiti Restro Café & Wine Bar! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, which set the tone for the whole evening. The drinks were delicious - expertly mixed and refreshing. But what really stood out was the food: fresh seafood and fish, prepared with care and flavor. The ambiance is lovely - relaxed but elegant, perfect for a memorable night out.

This restaurant is incredibly delicious! High notes were the cacao & coffee rubbed beef tenderloin, and try The Elvis for dessert! It is a crispy fried French toast pastry with bananas and peanut butter with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We tried it off of the recommendation of our wonderful server, Brie. She gave us some of the best service we had on our entire Costa Rica vacation. Try this place out, you won’t regret it!

Stopped by Jaco on our last night at CR and grabbed dinner at Graffiti Restaurant. Our waiter was super friendly and very welcoming. Restaurant itself and its surroundings is quite clean and inviting. We ordered the airplane chicken special, poke bowl, and chicken tenders. They offer a kid menu which is a plus. Our food came out fresh and delicious. Happy hour prices on drinks is a bargain. Only down side is they don’t have their own restroom. You’d have to use the restroom serving the plaza.

One of the best quality restaurants in Jaco ! Art themed decor adds to the ambience and some of the artworks are for sale. Creative delicious menu offers dishes that are unlike anything else you will find in the town. The beef skillet, tuna brushetta are stand out winners for me. Went a 2nd time and had the coffee/cacao tenderloin which was awesome. Oh, and the homemade cajun fries are to die for. Excellent selection of wines too and super-creative cocktails. Service is top class with Veronica and Sabina offering a friendly professional experience. We loved this place and would say "just go" - you won't regret it.

The menu is unique and the food is delicious. I recommend the beef tenderloin, the Cajun fries, and the fish tacos. We also had a bottle of Merlot which paired well with everything. Overall, the restaurant has a really nice vibe and located in a great area.

Ive visited this restaurant 3 times over the last few years and it never disappoints. This time however, was exceptionally good. We started with the tuna tar tar tower, a few Caribe-tinis and had Churrasco with mashed potaties and tempura veggies, and the pork ribs with grilled veggees and rice. We finished with the french toast banana dessert. Every bite was incredible and the textures and flavors make this place feel like a Michellin Star eatery. The decor and vibe is urban trendy and the staff projected the same chill energy. Caveat..it is one of the most expensive restaurants in Jaco, but the overall experience was well worth the price.

From my friends neice’s recommendation, we came to Green Room for a vegetarian lunch. This restaurant serves a full menu with vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options available. We were met immediately and had been informed that there was quite a wait because they were unloading stock and we’re running about 40 minutes behind, this was not of j concern. It’s very hot today, so we sat outside with the fan and fairly quickly got to order drinks and fresh guacamole. When it came time to order meals, I asked if there was a recommendation before I ordered, suspecting I was gonna get the mushroom melt but was directed towards the vegan bowl or the vegan burger. Neither of those entice me so I went with my original thought. The server had no feedback, just saying that the other two were ordered more frequently. My friend thoroughly enjoyed his tuna and salad, though the watermelon water was made early in the day, being fairly watered down. I basically ate a grilled onion melt with a sprinkle of mushrooms and a piece of shredded mozzarella hiding between the bread. The onions were good, but that’s not what I was intending on ordering. Also, I tried the Green Room Mai Tai, and while it was a nice idea, it had very little liquor noticeable and was more of a water down green tea. Might try some other menu items again, but the service was not great, long weights with no site of servers, and they were obviously waiting for a very large group to come in because they disappeared completely once that group showed up.

If you are vacationing in Jaco, Costa Rica, You absolutely need to visit this amazing café! We stopped in for a last lunch while there and I wish I had learned of it before then. The food was delicious! The atmosphere is really neat. Featured is artwork for sale and it appears live music at times. There is home style furniture and tables and uniquely decorated restrooms. I got a mint lemonade that featured fresh pureed mint leaves. So yummy! The food was delicious! Reasonably priced. Just check it out. You won't regret it. ♡

The only beautiful thing I can say about this place was the scenery inside. We had a horrible experience with our waiter, Emilio. He was rude from the beginning and never cared to check on us. We were never asked for refills or if food was good or missing anything. It was honestly the worst service in CR. We could never get his attention for anything, and he would ignore us. There was a waitress in the same area that was very helpful when we asked for help and it wasn't even her table. We we're truly disappointed after all the recommendations. Emilio was truly rude and had an ugly attitude. When I told him the issues, he just laughed. And to end for them to add 10% plus 13% for who knows what. Never again.

Our favorite breakfast spot in Jaco! Food is fresh, organic, they truly are "green" at this establishment. I love the bohemian theme & the fact that you can buy from local artists. Please go eat here if you are in Jaco for brunch. It's amazing!

I enjoyed the Green Room. The live music was good and rather laid back. My meal last night was not as good as some other visits. It was a bit overcooked for me although I ordered it rarer. The drinks were very good.

Delicious vegan and vegetarian dishes! Friendly and quick staff. Recommend to any non meat eaters

The inside of this restaurant was soooo pretty and unlike anywhere I have ever eaten before. There is amazing artwork everywhere. The food was delicious however the drinks could've tasted a bit better. The workers were very kind and lax which I liked. Everything on the menu was affordable . I got the tacos and they tasted very good. Only downside is if you choose to eat outside be mindful of stray animals. I am personally not a cat person so trying to enjoy my food while a cat is next to me wasn't the greatest but in another country you just have to be open minded about everything I guess lol.

We enjoyed watching the sunset and having dinner here! The ceviche and calamari were some of the best we’ve ever had. My husband enjoyed his fried red snapper. And I liked my octopus but it was too chewy. Overall really good and highly recommend!

The food wasn’t bad but I’ve notice when you’re with bigger groups in this part of Costa Rica, that try to bring everyone’s orders out at once instead of them bringing it as they are ready. My New York steak was not hot, it was barely warm. Outside of that, everyone enjoyed their food. I did NOT like their calamari. The flavor was good but it was too chewy. The lobster bisque was really good. I didn’t care for the drinks. I’m not much of a drinker but could tell they barely put liquor. The food alone was good enough for me to be willing to come back with a small group so my food is hot 😉 Also! The oysters were good and it was my first time trying them.

We stumbled upon this resturant on my boyfriend’s birthday and it was the best decision! I still think about the garlic lobster and the creamy mash potato. We were craving some champagne and they had some excellent options. They made us feel really special and the location is perfect for eating fresh seafood while looking out to sea. Would recommend for any special occasion & definitely child friendly and spacious as well.

Service was excellent, so was the atmosphere, food was good but wasn't worth the price tag. I got the surf & turf. My shrimps were very cold, lobster was over-cooked, but steak was good. The chocolate mousse dessert was excellent.... If I went back I'd try something different...

Nice al fresco dining, excellent seafood, however check your bill carefully, we were charged $66 US for 2 margarita’s that looked gorgeous but did not taste very good. We complained about the ridiculous price and they reduced the price 20%, still grossly overcharged.

Lemon Zest was a great dining experience overall! I came with a large group, and our server was incredibly attentive, making sure everyone was well taken care of. The service truly felt top notch. We were even greeted by the owners, who were such sweet and welcoming people. That definitely added a personal touch to the evening. The food was really good for the most part. The standout for me was the guacamole. It was absolutely delicious and fresh! The only complaint I heard from our group was about the chicken pasta; a few people felt it lacked flavor and could’ve used more sauce. But aside from that, everyone enjoyed their meals. If you’re in Jacó, I’d definitely recommend checking out Lemon Zest. Great atmosphere, amazing service, and a solid menu with some real hits!

I adore this restaurant. An Ex-Pat owns it who is a culinary genius and the lemon chicken piccata is hands down the most delicious one I have ever tasted! I first went here in 2009 and was so happy they were still in business years later (11/2024). They are very understanding of food allergies - I have a gluten and tree nut allergy. I highly recommend. It is on the second story of building.

This is a solid spot in the center of Jaco. We tried the fish francese and the ribeye steak. The fish in lemon sauce was amazing. A great dish indeed. The steak was a miss, however. It was chewy and needed some more flavoring. The passionfruit mojito was very good as well. I'd skip the kiwi flavored mojito, though. A solid option for lunch or dinner.

Went there twice. Staff couldn't be more friendly. We took in some Tuna we caught and snapper. They prepared it multiple ways. I will say without hesitation that this was a top tier restaurant that stands up to the best. Comfortable seating. Nice ambience. Amazing.

I’m not a picky eater, but I guess I can be a harsh critic with flavoring. And the Modena Chicken had the best balance and chemistry of flavors in my mouth I’ve had this entire trip in Costa Rica.

What an outstanding gem of a restaurant this is! We were referred to Lemon Zest by a local named Juan Carlos and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere, cuisine, and service were all beyond superb! Goof stuff. Really like their tuna tartare and quail eggs yolk Nigiris. That was bomb. The staff and service was amazing and very nice. Was craving sushi while in town and we went for it. Also their roll was not bad. Really enjoys their deluxe Cali roll. Also good sake. Highly recommend and would definitely come back

We went there twice during our stay in Jaco, we loved the place and the atmosphere. What a great service too! They listen to your needs and serve you dishes that meet your expectations. Absolutely delicious dinner! So glad we found this cute restaurant just off the main strip. We had a combination of appetizers, sushi rolls, and a wok bowl. The fresh smoothie was also a bonus! Welcoming staff and fun environment for our first night in Jaco!

We had a lovely diner at Ohana Sushi, and the food was delicious. Spicy salmon, Deluxe Cali, salmon carpaccio, just yummy. Service could be better. It's oriented towards foreingers. Guess what? Nationals also like to enjoy good food and service and deserve an equal treatment as paying customers, other than that good sushi, nice place, okay service.

Love the ambiance quiet small hidden gem! Drinks are outstanding, my favorite the Piña Colada. Great selection of Sake and Wine as well. Fantastic customer service and the food is out of this world. The menu has a huge selection and variety of choices. Prices are definitely fair for the portions .

Went here for dinner our first night in Jaco, Costa Rica. Recommend it because of the half off sushi rolls Wednesday & Friday all day. Mon-thur 11-4:30pm half off sushi rolls Ordered Sapporo, warm Sake, Ramen, Spicy Tuna & Lobster roll Sapporo : 3.5/5 it was good for the sushi and glad they had it Warm Sake: 2.5/5 it was okay got the job done I had to wash it down with Sapporo Ramen: 2/5 the broth and ramen could of been better and the egg was a disappointment and the beef wasn’t memorable Spicy Tuna Roll: 3.5/5 not bad Lobster Roll: 3/5 it was okay Overall a 3 on the food and service and atmosphere was good

Tsunami Sushi in Jaco Beach is hands down the best sushi I've ever had! I've dined in top restaurants worldwide, but Chef Mario's artistry in the kitchen sets this place apart. Each dish is a beautiful presentation of fresh ingredients, with incredible flavors that truly delight the palate. The specialty rolls are a must-try, showcasing his innovative combinations. The atmosphere is inviting, and the service is top-notch, with attentive staff ready to offer great recommendations. If you're in Jaco Beach, don’t miss Tsunami Sushi. It's a culinary experience that will leave you craving more!

This place was actually quite unique. It’s a bit different from your typical traditional sushi spot, but being in Costa Rica, you can tell they’ve added their own local fusion twist. It’s hard for me to label it a full five stars since I’ve been to Japan and tried some of the most exceptional sushi, but I honestly don’t have many complaints. The service was fairly quick, and I especially enjoyed the seafood trio with their signature mango sauce — that one really stood out. I’d definitely return to try more from their menu.

This is a must for Jaco! They accommodated gluten free very well, the waiter checked with the kitchen and came back to me with options for accommodations. The best sushi I have ever had, and reasonably priced as well.

I have been coming here for years and unfortunately, I came tonight and had the Worst experience of my entire life. My wife felt completely uncomfortable with Sebastion as our waiter And I 100% agree with her. When we came into sit down, he didn’t say a word to us To show he doesn’t have any personality at all….we ordered our drinks and he would not get them hovering over the table so we proceeded to try to order our sushi rolls and he literally would not leave we had to tell him that’s it please put our order in. Now me being a male, I usually don’t feel that uncomfortable, but this guy should not be working for a restaurant and if he was working for me, he would be gone after tonight. We were gonna come back tomorrow, but there’s no chance.

The pizza is really good. They are courteous and kind and really helpful from a atmosphere and from a service perspective. We had one larger pizza that we split in half. We were surprised by the cost. It was more expensive than most American pizzerias. Definitely located on the main street focused a little bit more on the tourism aspect. We absolutely love the games and the toys that they made available for our kids, which are just open there. The service is really good and they were courteous and kind.

Not only incredible service but the BEST pizza you will have in Costa Rica. Ranks among the best I have ever had even in the U.S. If you’re looking for delicious pizza, this is the spot. And they have gluten free options!

AMAZING PIZZA FOUND HERE! we got a pepperoni slice while we waited for our bigger pizza, as well as a lemonade. everything was incredible. the crust is divine. must try while you’re in Jaco.

This was easily the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had. Scratch that - this is the best pizza I’ve had in general. My only regret was not getting a large just for me so I didn’t have to share with my husband 😂 They offer a vegan pizza crust with violife cheese and tons of toppings to choose from. We got roasted onions, roasted garlic, spinach, and a balsamic glaze. Vegan pizza can be hit or miss, but this place hit it out of the park. The staff are super friendly, and the owner (I think?) even gave each of us a shot on the house! We couldn’t have left any happier. 1,000/10 don’t leave Jaco without stopping here, especially if you’re vegan! We’re already planning to come back tomorrow night.

This was one of the best pizza’s I have had in a long time. Super fresh and amazing flavor. Service was friendly and the beer on tap was spot on.

Great pina colada but heard they had good slices – perhaps it was the wrong time of day as it was not very good. Also went to a gathering there – service was wonderful but, the drinks were not. I’ll try it again but wasn’t impressed. Based on the reviews, I will definitely give it another try and update.

To start, this place has a beautiful view of the ocean!! We saw people surf and walk along the shore, we experienced a dog take a swim in the swampy water off to the side of the restaurant. Great views! So then, the food… the food is very well presented, but is not great. For me, it seemed quite overpriced and under-seasoned. The Coconut Mahi-Mahi was solely the best part. The Patacones with meat were void of seasoning and difficult to eat. The mashed potatoes were not quite the right texture or consistency and the sliced corn was most likely cooked in the hot tub next door. The drinks were good, not exceptional. Total price ~$76 USD This experience instilled in me a desire to return to one of the cheaper, less-try-hard soda shops around. If you’re looking for a luxury food experience, you may want to consider other options. - Expectations 😃 - Reality 😞❌

El Point Jaco Beach has an unbeatable location right on the beach — the sunset view alone is worth stopping by. They also have a solid happy hour from 4–6pm, which is a nice bonus. That said, the service was pretty slow, and there are a lot of dogs and cats roaming the area — one dog even urinated right next to an empty table, which was a little off-putting. As for the food, it was hit or miss. The Caribbean Mix Seafood Soup didn’t have much seafood, and they didn’t provide claws to crack open the shells. The Caesar Salad’s chicken was extremely salty, and the tenderloin steak actually came out raw the first time, though they fixed it. On the bright side, the Caribbean chicken was tasty, and the smoothie was decent. Overall, it’s worth visiting for the atmosphere and sunset, but I’d manage your food expectations.

I'm not a fan of seafood, but the tuna fish my wife got was simply good. My mother in law ordered pasta with shrimp and she said it was good. However, my risotto was average. The chicken was not tasty and the risotto itself was too liquid, its flavor was fine though. Other than that, good service and great location.

We chose this restaurant for the views of the beach at sunset but were blown away by the delicious food and cocktails. We did not make a reservation and were able to walk right in for a table on the beach. They had happy hour specials as well as a full list of specialty cocktails. Everything we ordered was delicious. The food was also tasty. We had the nachos which were piled high with so many toppings you needed to ask for more chips to finish it. The coconut mahi mahi was spectacular as was the steak and the seafood sampler. You cannot go wrong with this restaurant, especially with the beach/sunset views.

El Point serves some delicious cocktails. The piña colada was amazing and the food was nice. The restaurant is in a nice location, right on the beach, so it’s a great place to come for sunset (but it’s quite busy at this time). Service is poor - despite there being 5-7 waiters behind the bar not doing anything, they leave you waiting for a while before coming over to help, even if you’re standing right at the bar!

Perfect spot for an evening meal and cocktails right on the Jaco beach. We were able to reserve a table for 6 using Whatsapp and it was waiting for us when we arrived. We got there to be able to watch the sunset and were even able to get some happy hour cocktails. Service was excellent and our food was great. Highly recommend!

The place is right next to the beach, so you got a beautiful view of the ocean and the sky. The service was okay, it was quite slow, but the restaurant was packed. The food was amazing. The nachos were amazing, the portion was quite big and they were tasty. The patacones also came in quite a big portion and they tastes real nice as well. The fish tacos tasted good, but the portion was small, it consisted of only 2 medium tacos.

Had a late lunch. Service was great and the food was tasty and beautifully presented. While I' not a big sweet fan, I couldn't resist the banana tempura - really good but the bananas could have been a bit sweeter. I got the white sangria and hands down the best I've had. The flavors go beyond wine and some fruit - it was an incredible blend. The small thing that thrilled me the most - they use metal straws and not the cancer causing paper ones! So, thank you!! I look forward to trying many of the other dishes.

The cashew chicken was delicious, but a little saltier than I like. Nicely plated. Service was friendly and fast. I had some sangria which was also very tasty. Restaurant is nice and bright and cool.

First time dining at Zona K today. Can't believe it took me so long to try it - OMG it was so good,!!! I had tenderloin salad (medium rare steak cooked to perfection). Great wine list, great service, great atmosphere, amazing meal. I'll be back!

Great place for a solo diner. I met another two friendly locals there. The breakfast was delicious and the mimosa set me off for the rest of the afternoon. It has ac so it’s comfortable being inside. And the service was amazing as well!

This was one of my favorite meals to date. Like in my existence. Everything was perfected. I cannot wait to get back here and try everything on the menu. Beautifully done restaurant with amazing staff. I loved this dinner experience! Thank you guys.

Do yourself a favor and AVOID this place. I wish I hadn’t just looked at the overall customer review score but actually read the individual reviews, especially the lower rated reviews. They’re spot on. Food here is absolutely mediocre. Tacos were just so-so all the way around, from the flavor of the meat to the toppings. Chips and queso were horrible—stale chips and a yellowish goo they tried to pass as queso. Finally, their cocktails are horrible. Ordered two margaritas that were so tart that your lips would pucker. And then the waiter tried to tell us that’s what margaritas taste like, as if we haven’t had margaritas before LOL. Seriously, don’t waste your time or money here.

I liked that you can build your own taco! I always love when they let us choose our options at restaurants. We got calamari fried rings which tasted similar to onion rings. I loved all the fresh ingredients! My favorite was probably the carne asada. We also got the shrimp and fish tacos. The server was very friendly and helped us out by telling us what was good together. They were delicious tacos. Not the best tacos I've ever had, but still delicious. I'm not a huge fan of the corn tortillas they used. I bet if that was changed, it would be delicious.

Ok so, the tacos are DELICIOUS! Service is great. Super chill, laid back and the owner/ staff helped me with my order as well and brought their amazing local hot sauce “Dragon’s Breath”. You can choose what you like to add on the taco and build your own, I think I made the right choices with my toppings and with the owner who also helped me out ☺️ definitely recommend it to fulfill your taco cravings

Good spot for a quick bite! Fairly priced. They really don't cheap out on ingredients, I got steak in my taco and the meat was well seasoned...bravo! Sangria was great and refreshing. Good customer service too. I highly recommend this place.

Our FAVORITE place to eat while staying in Jaco! Fresh ingredients, you get a piece of paper and you mark what you. You can get as many toppings as you want, staff are extremely friendly & everyone we spoke with had amazing English! We ate here multiple times on our trip. The chips & queso were also made to order, the best chips I’ve ever ate. 100/10 recommend!

The food was so good I forgot to take a photo but trust me when I say it was delicious. I got three shrimp tacos because I thought they would be “street taco” size (like a taco kit) but oh no, they are huge. You really only one need one or two but it was awesome to have leftovers! Really awesome service and it was cool to have them cook it all fresh right in front of you. I highly recommend this spot for authentic, delicious tacos.

My friend and I are fruit for breakfast just to leave enough room to experience Taco Joint in all of its glory! Upon arriving, the owner told us that it opening would be delayed 40 mins due to a staff member being late. While this was inconvenient, he offered to comp us a round of beers. So, we waited. We each ordered shrimp and carnita tacos with all the fixings (see attached image for options). Tacos came as we neared the second beer, and they were quite flavorful, and heartier than expected. Definitely no regrets on waiting, as we left with smiles and full stomachs! I would recommend trying this place, but being careful not to overload your tacos with too many toppings or sauce--like I did.

We love Sépalo although we miss the option of the small / big bowls they used to have in the old place. Still, would definitely recommend, very good place to eat. They do not specialize in pizza (we prefer other places in Jaco for pizza) but the bowls are great!

We walked to the left of the hustle and bustle and we were pleasantly surprised by Sépalo’s. Every thing was delish! The Gorgonzola skirt steak Salad & Pasta, the vegetable pasta, pizza, Ceviche! Oh and Seared Cajun Tuna. Our drinks were well crafted as well. Whole family was pleased all 6 of us from 15-50 years

I ordered a shrimp teriyaki bowl and a dragonfruit + strawberry smoothie. When I got the shrimp teriyaki bowl, it looked different from the pictures and I thought it had been made using pre-frozen vegetables. The staff was kind enough to show me their kitchen to show that everything was freshly made. The food is also tasty. Highly recommended!

Loved this place! I ordered a bowl with fresh tuna and it did not disappoint. Very filling and all the ingredients were fresh. The sushi rice and quinoa cooked to perfection. On the other hand, my boyfriend ordered a fruit bowl. He really liked it! They didn’t have as many fruit topping options, but the ones they did have were fresh. The place it’s really nice, A/C, wifi and comfortable tables and chairs. Definitely coming back. Tuesday and Friday - 2x1 protein smoothies Tuesday and Friday - 2x1 hot bowls Monday and Thursday - 2x1 pizzas Wednesday and Saturday - 2x1 fruit bowl. This is what they have on their store front. I would call to double check.

I fully recommend Sépalo to anyone who travels to Jaco. Jose an owner & Jody (forgive the gringo spelling) the bartender are top notch in service and accommodating to even a lone traveler. However, I've seen them & the staff accommodating parties of twelve with no problem. The food is Fantastic. Trust me I've bartended & served in places from Macon, Ga to Hilton Head, SC. Stopped by here because the restaurant we were looking for wasn’t open anymore. This place has some great bowls (also a breakfast menu but we didn’t ask about that as it seems like they’re focused on bowls), I grabbed a Green Detox and my friend got a sushi rice bowl with shrimp. The service was really quick and the staff understood English very well. The place is clean with indoor and outdoor seating and I would recommend stopping by as you get a good amount in the bowl for the price.

We stopped in here for dinner a few nights ago. Such a cute place and the food was fantastic! We started with the white fish carpaccio. It was so light and flavorful! Then we shared the 2 person paella. It was delicious. We will absolutely be coming back here again!

Yummm! We’re going back tomorrow. 😋 We went here for dinner and were so impressed with the quality of the food, the thoughtful attention to detail, and the hospitality of the staff. Everything was super delicious and fresh. There are lovely healthy options on the menu, and they made the fried artichoke hearts gluten free for me. The panna cotta with candied figs was creamy and not too sweet.

Wow this was fantastic. From start to finish the flavors were amazing and the service was so sweet and helpful. We were celebrating my son’s fifth birthday and we were all blown away with how delicious everything was. The cocktails were very creative and we loved the one with olive oil. I ordered the sea bass with passion fruit and will have dreams about it. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Wish we could go back.

Food overall great.. grilled octopus and fish carpaccio were perfect.. the croquetas were okay. And the fried artichoke was okay. Rum punch was delicious.. service was good. Recommended for semi up scale dining in Jaco

Everything about this place was fantastic. The building appears to be newly remodeled and very clean. For the appetizers we ordered hummus, bruschetta, shrimp, and tuna. Every dish was freshly prepared and full of wonderful flavors. For the entrees we got Mahi and risotto, octopus, and spaghetti for the child. I can definitely say that this was our best meal of the trip and freshest seafood we had while there.

Had dinner 3 times, it’s air conditioned, right on the road, very clean & family friendly. Food is top notch, try their fish, octopus and payee. You will not be disappointed.

Wow!! So delicious with great displays. We were honored to have a really wise, kind, and professional waiter. I'm bummed to have missed his name, but he is well traveled with long silver hair. I also loved the interior design. We went with our toddlers and they were treated well.

Flavorful, fresh, and delicious! My family drove through Jaco and decided to try— we went at lunch time and it was not busy at all. I got the chicken skewers with salad and veggies. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in Costa Rica. Definitely give this place a try!

Wow!! 5 star all the way it has outdoor and indoor dining. Delicious delectable food and specials everyday. The lobster gratin manifique!!! And the red snapper wow!!! Margaritas 12 flavors and 2 dollar specials!! Music in the evening after 8pm. Wonderful service by Carlos. It costs a little more but worth it!!

This was our last (and best) meal in Costa Rica after being here for 3 weeks. Carlos and his colleagues looked after us so well and the food was AMAZING, as was the Shiraz Wine. Only minor complaint was the wonderful Ravioli was a bit of a small portion, I think it was only 6 or maybe 7 (large) pieces, but fortunately we had a starter, otherwise it would not have filled me up.

Had a great time. We just went for a few drinks and a appetizer.. the mariachis came and it’s always a must to get at least a song or 2…!!!

Wonderful meal! We had the Muelle Ceviche and the seafood platter. Both were delicious, and we would visit again if we were in the area. This place came at the recommendation of Sergio at Ecolirios (check out that review), Carlos is the owner of Mono Verde and he was welcoming as Sergio had told him we were headed that direction. Drinks were cold and the dessert was wonderful

To be honest, based on the reviews I expected more. The garden salad was really nice and flavourful. Avocado stuffed with shrimp was interesting, but not spectacular. Tuna steak was mediocre: the tuna itself was really good, but the rice that came with it felt old (dried and flavourless) and the sauce was extremely salty. The waitress forgot about one more dish that I anticipated the most, but I was already full to reorder. I had a mojito which was nice. There was live music outside. We preferred the inside sitting (A/C, street odors and less "spirits of the night"). The restaurant is seated on the main street, close to the beach. Did not see any street parking available. The final bill (not the one on the picture) already included the service tax of 10%, but had a hand written comment "tips in cash please". I did leave an additional tip, but coming back to think about it: it ain't nice! Taking down a star for this. Overall, there was nothing special about this place that might cause me to want to come back P.S. I understand there should have been "specials", but we were not informed about any.

In a town with next to zero positive gastronomic experiences, this place is OK. Basic italian dishes served well - and that's it !! the restaurant is littered with laminated signs telling diners that they do not split bills ? Does it really need all these ugly signs ? the manager/maitre d' is brusque and officious !! he seemed insulted that we only wanted 2 pasta dishes and a bottle of wine ! "How about a green salad with your lasagne sir?" he asked. When I said no thanks, his manner changed and duly ignored us thereon. The food though is very good !! homemade breads and genuine classic Italian dishes saved the day. Just a pity the boss was such a jerk and the numerous laminated signs telling people the "rules" !!

Have always seen this place when we are in Jaco and never tried until this trip. I'm so happy we did because the food is phenomenal!!! All four dishes we tried were cooked to perfection. We decided to dine outside as the weather was nice and the service here is great. Along with our server, all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Please do yourselves a favor and try Amancio's, you will love it!!!

This spot was wonderful! From the moment we walked up we’d were greeted and say immediately. Our server was so accommodating to our every need! We tried the Hawaiian pizza and added prosciutto— it was amazing. The dough was not too thick and held together relatively well for a wood fired pizza with so many toppings. The pineapple was fresh and the prosciutto was so delicious. The family that owns it came and welcomed us with a handshake and a smile. It was great and we would definitely recommend!!

Awesome service, great sangria and bread was a treat that you usually don't find here. I got the penne ala vodka which was cooked perfectly al dente. However, it was more red than pink and lots of onion pieces which I'm not used to. Hubby got the pizza and while he enjoyed it, I found it to be underwhelming. The crust had zero flavor. Oh, I got a side of meatballs which were great!

Best Italian in Jaco. Most of the Pastas are made on site by chef and cooked perfectly. It's like going to a nice North End restaurant the Pesto sauce was the best.

Wow...Isla Restaurant in Jaco blew me away. The food is absolutely delicious, and the fish soup is out of this world. You have to try it. The ladies here, from the kitchen to the servers, are so friendly and make you feel right at home. Great vibes, amazing flavors, and wonderful people this place is a gem!

Super delicious local cuisine. My partner and I started with the tuna ceviche which was amazing, came with a side of crackers. We followed up with a chifrijo and a cascado de chorizo. Both were delicious. The chifrijo came with chips and the cascado came with rice, beans, plantains and etc. it is a bit out of the way from jaco centro but it was near our hotel and we loved it as our last meal in Jaco.

Great food at fair prices. It's just steps off the boulevard. The whole red snapper is a wonderful meal and enough for two. They have some very good 7 and 12 year old rum at very good prices. Service is very good and it always seems to come with a smile. Pura Vida !!

Really nice local restaurant off the main strip. We went on a really rainy night and the service was great! The beautiful ladies cooking were super friendly. Hubby got a typical plate and I got the amazing coconut shrimp. We're going back.

Very very good. Awesome seafood! Get the seafood soup, probably the single best thing we had in Jaco. We got 2 entrees, a ceviche and 3 beers for $40 so not the cheapest place, but fair. The staff doesn’t seem to speak English but if you have a bit of an understanding of Spanish and a translate app you can figure it out.

Food was good. We had onions with steak and rice. About 11.00 not bad

Had some extremely delicious food! It was authentic and typical Costa Rican food. I felt like I was eating at someone’s family house. The portions were generous, and the staff was extremely kind.

It’s similar to a cafeteria style and the food is very good. I think that we like most about it is it was an open atmosphere and the staff was really courteous and kind. Really attentive and helpful. Totally worth it and very affordable.

Casados are 3500-4000 and we keep going back to decide which is our favorite. So far it’s the carne en salsa, pollo en salsa, and tilapia filet. Service is friendly, seating is open air, and it’s the intersection of quality and value! Pura vida!

One of the best places to eat Costa Rican traditional food. I'm a tico from San José and I highly recommend this place for any locals or tourists to enjoy a very very good meal with the prices of a Soda near the beach. Amazing staff and truly this is a gem in Garabito

I promised myself to try every restaurant in town before picking a favorite. I failed! Rioasis is hands down great. A bit pricy but worth every penny. Their pizza is amazing thanks to pizzaiola Jeremy and his helper Denzel. From the first time I came in Jimmy made me feel at home – he said, I could practice my Spanish if I let him practice his English (he doesn’t need practice!) Melly and John are also awesome. Raphael made me many great sangrias. We’ve had multiple pizzas; chicken parm; raviolis and hubby was impressed with their burritos – go figure lol Great location and service and during the day you get iguana visits. LOL Go, you won’t be sorry! I had to edit and add the awesome chef Mr. T! He's always in the kitchen and behind the scenes - I got to meet him tonight after he cooked some amazing fresh Mahi. So, thank you Mr. T - tu eras major!

By far one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Sergio was the chef. All ingredients were high quality. Staff was amazing. I don’t really write reviews, but this was worth it.

We went here on a tip from our Airbnb host, and this restaurant is fantastic. We ordered a large pepperoni and a medium margarita pizza. They were both delicious and it was a good value at only $41. The service and atmosphere were also great.

We had a great lunch here. The burritos were amazing. The service was really good. My kids loved being able to sit outside, but we were under cover in the shade. The iguana who wandered by and ate some lettuce they threw to him was a highlight. We had a really nice time.

I came here for breakfast today. I found the service is very attentive and they brought my order exactly how i ordered it. The place is really nice. Close to the bridge. Nice view and vibe. They also have pizza for dinner which i haven't tried. I orderd the omelet and it wasn't too long of a wait but it lacks flavor and full of oil. The cheese melted but feels like it cannot be swallowed easily. The begin wasn't crispy and hard to chew on. Maybe low quality and incorrectly cooked. I haven't really enjoyed it. But at least it is not salty. Am reluctant to recommend.

Great location with an outdoor patio. The food was good but the service was not the best. We are used to the pace at restaurants being slower in Costa Rica than in America, but this felt slower than normal.

Excellent service and very kind employees. They let us try a few samples before we ordered. The ice cream is a very affordable price, especially if you get a cone instead of a cup. The flavors are good, but it won’t be the best ice cream you’ve ever had in your life like gelato in Italy. Still, It’s a great option for Jacó, and they even have flavors that change each day too.

For those hot beach days this is the spot to go too. Get the banana split and try there smoothies too. I like the different flavors they have to offer and the variety ways they can mix stuff up for you. I am happy you really get your monies worth here. It's great they have flavors I have never seen in the US before.

We enjoyed the sundaes, good portion and fair price, however while eating in the seating area we were confronted by a couple with a very large dog that insisted on sharing their political views in a very aggressive manner. In a few minutes everyone cleared off of the patio. The couple said they go there every day so I would advise the owners to do something or they may drive away business.

Good gelato considering you're in Costa Rica! We got the chocolate vanilla in a waffle bowl and it was good. They were quite busy but the staff was friendly and let us sample a couple of flavors. 👍

Had a wonderful dinner there that gave so much needed variety to our trip. We'd mostly been eating rice/beans/protein so we were looking for something different and a local artist store recommended Koko. Walking to it definitely felt a little shady at night as we had to walk down a long dimly lit alley and their sign as the end of the alley was not well lit. But once we spotted the restaurant it was very brightly lit, full of people and had a live band playing. The restaurant is at the edge of the beach so I can imagine during the day you get a beautiful ocean view. The food was excellent as I ordered their burger and my sister got their fish tacos. The mixed drinks were delicious and we also enjoyed their ceviche as an appetizer. The only knock would be that the servers really had their hands full with only 3 wait staff for a completely full restaurant. They could probably use one more waiter.

We found this place after a few recommendations from locals. It's pretty hidden down a side alley off of the main street, but located right on the beach. Food was amazing and probably the best on our trip. Prices were also very reasonable.

We visited two years ago while on a trip along the coast. It was a stop I absolutely wanted to make on our way back from Quepos. It’s still just as good, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. The view of the beach and ocean is amazing, and the breeze makes it even better. I highly recommend trying the ceviche and the tuna bowl.

Koko Gastro Bar was a great experience. As others have mentioned, it’s right on the beach and such a cute little place. We went on a Friday night @ 7:30p and were sat immediately. I didn’t get the name of our server, but she was very attentive & did great. We started with white Passionfruit sangria - Which was delicious. The passionfruit wasn’t too overpowering or sour, it was just the right amount. For an appetizer, we shared the shrimp ceviche. This was not our favorite shrimp ceviche that we’ve had, but it definitely did the job and was tasty. For our entrées, we had the Jalapeño Mahi and Wildberry Tenderloin. The Jalapeño Mahi was cooked to perfection and the fish flaked just like you would expect it to. The fish was also seasoned perfectly and the crust on top had the perfect crunch. I would absolutely have this again. I will also add that the sides, which were vegetables and potatoes, were also very delicious. Each were seasoned perfectly and the potatoes were nice and crispy. My friend had the tenderloin which was cooked exactly as she liked it, but she did comment that the sauce was a little sweeter than she would prefer, but that did not affect the dish. It was still great. This is a great option if you’re in Jaco and want a nice place on the beach to have dinner.

Wow! Hands down the best meal(s) we've had in Costa Rica. For lunch we had koko burger and mahi mahi. For supper we brought in a spanish mackerel we caught and they prepared it 4 different ways!!

Had a good vibe having food here. The food is really authentic and very tasty. Atmosphere is cool too. Best Indian food around or in whatever I had in Costa Rica. May be a bit pricy but worth it.

Expensive. 2 pm light meal of 1 entree, 2 lassis, naan cost us >$32! Yes, pricey, but yummy yum👍😍 No other diner at the time. The chef prepared the naan at the drinks counter-- yummy smell too.

We had a dine in and take out experience. The dine in was 5 stars. The food was really good. The takeout was a 3 star experience. The naan was chewy and the chicken was dry. Although the masala was still very good. Can definitely recommend dining in. Don't do takeout. It's also not the cheapest option. The seating is outside so there isn't any AC. It was pretty hot when we had lunch.

It's rare that Indian food in other countries tastes authentic. The food here was very decent and service was fast and friendly. The outdoor seating area is great, even when it's very hot outside. The waiter asked how spicy I wanted the butter chicken I ordered, and he did not disappoint. Definitely spicy enough, even for an Indian. The only negative about this place is the cost of dishes. I think it's pretty overpriced for what it is, but it's also one of the only Indian restaurants I've seen.

Delicious Indian food and the best naan I’ve ever had. The service is also phenomenal (my water cup never got empty). If you’re in the mood to feast I recommend Hola India.

Amazing and authentic Indian food in the most unexpected of places. The friendly cook is Indian and from Delhi and makes the best dishes. They have a real tandoor oven and which ensures authentic taste. The tandoor vegetable platter was amazing as was the mixed vegetable curry. The garlic naan is spot on and served freshly baked. Good selection of drinks including lassi. Friendly and helpful staff.

We come eat here every time we come to Jaco. The owner is courteous. The tables are always clean. The food is great with generous portions. Would absolutely come back.

Best breakfast spot in Jaco for everyone in your group including meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans. Large portions, short wait time, great prices and the food tasted amazing. Very welcoming environment for tourists and for locals. Their smoothies are delicious too. Will definitely go back when in Jaco.

We stopped in for lunch, after we searched for "where the locals eat" and found Chinita Pacific. For lunch, it will help if you know or understand at least a little Spanish because they don't have a lunch menu. I stumbled through it but it worked out. They had two choices, chicken or shrimp, and a choice of a fresh blended juice. We chose a pineapple and a watermelon. Fast and friendly service, this really for what we were looking for. The chicken was our favorite and featured a grain salad with basil and vegetables. Their hot sauce was tasty as well.

The sandwich was good. Also ordered fruits with yogurt and granola, and it came without yogurt. When we asked about it, he said he didn’t offer yogurt today, which would have been nice to know when we ordered. The pineapple was not ripe.

One affordable and delicious find in jaco I got the two tacos in my husband got the three tacos and they both come with the salad bar. You can choose difference proteins for each taco.

Nice ambience. They have these great swings that you can sit at at the counter unfortunately, we were unable to try them because it was raining and they were wet. We were quickly seated and a nice waitress told her that she’d be with us shortly. They were kind of slammed for a rainy day and two ladies working. Food comes out as it is made so we all received our dinner at different times. It took White a while for our drinks to arrive. All in all the food was good. Vanessa was a great waitress and was kind enough to allow me to substitute my country fries for sweet potato fries. If you happen to be in, it’s a nice place for lunch if you like Mexican food, my son loved his burrito

The tacos were OK. Their fish tacos aren't special. It took a while for food to arrive. Not sure why it has a high rating on google. The salad bar was a disappointment. Not great salad options or toppings to support the tacos. The crispy calamari was just that in a tortilla with nothing else. The lack of options at the salad bar was a disappointment.

We love it I came back for a Crazy vainilla Shake delicious sweet and fully of delicious gummy bears and Chilly Chicken was amazing, best chicken breast filet. Love it thanks to staff. We came back for one of the biggest juicy burger GUTBUSTER as big as the plate we love it! ❤️😍 Super recommended. Huge Salas Del Mar, delicious and fresh sea food, couldn’t help not having the best French fries.

I ordered the lobster burger after hearing rave reviews of the restaurant. The size of the burger is massive and was well-presented. Upon cutting into the burger, I noticed the avocado was quite brown and obviously not fresh. I was a bit disappointed by the restaurant not using fresh ingredients as most of the reviews on Google are quite good. The caramelized onions and lobster were both delicious. The service was quite slow as well with one waitress taking orders and making drinks. After the initial post, the owner immediately reached out and offered $30 compensation for the previous meal. I went back the next day and had the rabbit burger, which was a unique experience. This was my first time to try rabbit, and the burger was delicious. I then ordered the vanilla vanilla shake, which Mariano made perfectly. Mariano was absolutely fantastic and super accommodating during the visit. He happily answered all my questions about the challenges. The second trip to Ridiculous Burgers is how I anticipated the first trip to be. Big kudos to the owner and Angela for taking pride in their restaurant. It’s clear my trip was a one off and I would recommend Ridiculous Burgers to anyone during their trip to Jaco.

I visited Ridiculous Burgers a few weeks ago while on vacation, and I would’ve never thought I’d find such a delectable burger in Costa Rica. The burger itself was impressive — stacked with layers of flavor. The bread was soft, the patty was juicy and seasoned perfectly, and the colorful mix of veggies gave it a great balance. It was actually my first meal upon arriving in Jacó Beach, and it set the bar high. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the wait was no longer than 15 minutes, which gave me just enough time to enjoy a cold beer. I’d definitely come back to try a different burger next time I return to Jacó. Highly recommend!

Stale dry bun, precooked lukewarm pattie, wilted slimy lettuce, warm beer. Ordered french fries never got them.

I ordered the Tuesday special which was two cheese burgers for the price of one. The burgers were very large. The buns were soft but not too soft. The pickled onions and their sauce was very good. The fries were crispy and fresh. Our server was very polite and was able to get our order even though we didn't speak Spanish. It did get busy toward the end of our meal which impacted the time it took to get our bill. I would recommend this burger joint to anyone who wants a great tasting and filling burger.

Fantastic place for dinner. Fish of the day was mahi mahi; we ordered both the poke and tacos, and both were delicious. Some of the best mahi mahi I've had! The location is on the main street but the seating was spacious and quiet, even on a busy Saturday night.

Fish of the day was Mahi so i got the tacos. Portion size was very good and the flavor was excellent. Service was prompt and efficient. Pricing is very good for the area and i would definitely return.

Let me specify that this review is for the El Pelicano on the beach in Herradura. This is the tale of two nights. I had heard good things about this restaurant and also that they would cook your catch. I did catch some tuna and brought it to the restaurant to be prepared. To our delight, it was prepared fabulously, as my first picture indicates. Two nights later, we decided to bring the remainder of the tuna catch to El Pelicano to be cooked. Unfortunately, this time the tuna was completely botched; first undercooked and then overcooked, over spiced, and just plain awful, as the second picture indicates. Our waiter, who we liked, even conceded that the tuna was prepared poorly after he was shown the first picture. He then explained that on the first night we came, the chef prepared our tuna, and on the second night, a longtime employee, (who is apparently not a chef) did the cooking. Although the restaurant did comp our meal, it could not replace the ruined tuna or the ruined evening. My suggestion, if you go to this restaurant is to make sure that the actual chef is preparing the meal and not someone pretending to be a chef.

A Herradura beach classic. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is the perfect tropical beachside joint. The cerveche is awesome, fish tacos excellent, and the mariscos soup is delicious! Service is always with a smile. And the swing seats with a front row to the bay makes it all the better.

The best on the street in herradura. Ask about the market fresh fish ahead of time to see what you’ll be having. Food was good, service excellent. Road is right there and vehicle exhaust is prevalent throughout the open air dining area, especially seats with best view of playa de herradura.

I visited this restaurant due to its location near the sea. I had no idea how wonderful my lunch would have turned out to be. I ordered the Seabass, which was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a BAHIA drink which was also delicious. delicious enough for me to have two. I found this restaurant to be extraordinarily cute and different. The area where I sat were tables and attached to the ceiling above the tables you sat in swings. The staff was very friendly. The food was very affordable and very delicious.

Our family of seven had a wonderful dinner of 4 types of fish that some of us caught on a fishing trip the day before. They consulted on the preparation and it was delicious. Also, one would think that if you just handed the fish to the chef it would take longer than something from the menu but it was timely. And it was lovely to hear the waves while we waited. Beautiful meal in a relaxed setting.

We enjoyed the restaurant as it is in front of the sea and it is more calm. We had 2 dishes a ceviche that was very good because it had a bice combination of flavors ( i believe it is best to share the dish) and we had shrimp that were finely cooked but nothing spectacular. The staff was nice and the service was fast. We had Margaritas that were delicious.

Please read in full, we really wanted to love this place, they weren't ready. Our concierge made reservations for our group of 40 for my 50th birthday dinner here, they simply couldn't handle it. We were provided 2 (TWO) servers for our group (of 40) we told them numerous times to be sure that they'd separate the orders (checks) of the various parties (they didn't) which caused a disaster and for many ruined the night and while experience. The food was good, but for many came out wrong (my steak came out wrong 3x, as did others). I will say the manager (I believe) tried his best to accommodate and provide a good experience, and he was very nice, but the simple fact that it LITERALLY took over an hour or more) to simply pay is crazy. We had reservations after dinner which had to be moved and many of our group just went "home" due to the lengthy and quite exhausting wait and "check out" experience. The wait staff was friendly, I will say. I'm sure if you go as a couple or maybe group of 4, your experience might be a good one, this is sonly for our Large group experience. You'd figure when you have reservations for 40 they'd be prepared for it, they were not.

This was a really special celebratory meal with my fiance and her mother. We dined outside to the sounds of the waves. We could see the ocean. We had mushrooms, steak, tartar, sauces and more. Everything was on point and perfectly cooked. Our meal was amazing! Ricardo was on point and made it really special! His recommendations were exactly what we wanted! He was awesome! The desert he recommended (apple pancake which was I think crème buleed) with homemade dulce de leche ice cream was over the top!

Me and my girlfriend came here for our one year anniversary. The service started out good we ordered drinks the server told me about the surf and turf special which I got. My girlfriend ordered the penne alla checca pasta. Our food came out I ordered my steak medium and it came out almost rare. My girlfriend did not like the pasta so she was going to order something else. Our server NEVER came back after 40min of trying to wave him down he finally came over at that point we were just ready to go. I told him she didn’t like the pasta and asked for a box for mine so I could try to heat it up at home to cook it longer. He brought the check and we asked why we were still charged for the pasta when he took it back he said because there was nothing wrong with it. I’ve been a server for 8 years and this was the worst service I’ve ever had. If I would have known we were still going to be charged for it I would have just taken it with me and I myself would have just ate it for lunch tomorrow instead of paying for something we never even ate. I’m so disappointed by this experience. Paid $210 for poor service and food we didn’t even eat.

After leaving the beach, my friend and I stumbled upon this spot and decided to finally have some fish during our stay — and honestly, it turned out to be one of our best choices. We started with the fried calamari appetizer, which came in larger chunks than usual but was crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. The sauces and lime on the side tied it all together perfectly. For drinks, I went with a Flor de Caña served as a double on ice alongside a small pitcher of Coke — I liked the touch of being able to mix it to your liking. It hit just right. The main dish was the star: a whole fried fish with a perfectly seasoned, crispy exterior and tender meat inside. I enjoyed it so much that I devoured it down to the bones. The green rice, sautéed vegetables, and seafood sauce on the side complemented everything nicely. Just know that if you sit closer to the beach, you’ll likely get interrupted by vendors passing by, so sitting a bit further inside might make for a more relaxed experience. Overall, great food, good vibes, and a solid seaside spot worth checking out.

Had an amazing experience here. Allan provided excellent service. There is a really nice wine room and has a/c and the deck has good views of the beach. Great old fashions and the tuna sashimi and flan was delicious.

Marketed as a steak and lobster place, was incredibly unsatisfied with the lobster. $80 USD for a tiny and mushy small piece of lobster. I ate here last night and the food was great. I started out with the chorizo. It had great flavor. And for my meal I had a beef and shrimp skewer with rice and grilled vegetables. It was delicious. The staff was great and the open air and view of the beach and sunset were amazing. It is an expensive place to eat but I felt it was worth the price.

Unfortunately this restaurant has lost some of its luster. The food was uninviting, tasteless, and cheaply presented for the location and price. I have been a regular customer up until now.

It’s a typical American style bar, to make Americans feel comfortable. And to eat a burger and house salad will set you back at least $28. If you want authentic Costa Rica, this ain’t it. But, it is a fun place and, I’ll say it again, a fantastic hamburger

We ate dinner here last week and the food was good, service was great, view of the marina was great. The restaurant is up on the 2nd level. There’s a bar which was busy, and a dozen tables many overlooking the marina. Several tables had kids eating kid stuff but we dined well. American prices.

We ordered 3 tacos and ceviche along with 2 drinks each and finally 2 shots of tequila. My 2 mezcalitas were $30 each, my wife's mezcal cocktails were $20 each and the shots were, $20 each. That's $140 for 4 cocktails and 2 shots for those of you keeping score. The entire bill was $225. Please do not go here. It is a complete rip off. These cocktails were more expensive than NYC. Bartender acted like a $30 cocktail was completely normal. Food was just ok....but extremely costly Never again!

Went there for dinner. Server was very friendly and helped us in picking up items. Highly recommend their seafood sampler that comes with grilled octopus, jumbo shrimps and grilled bass.Bit pricey but worth it.

Quite possibly the best pina colada I've ever had. When fishing in Jaco, we return with the catch and chefs will cook and serve with perfect sides.

Hidden secret getaway! Food is fantastic. We tried a few dishes. The chicken skewers were amazing, but overall everyone was impressed. NO CREDIT CARD-CASH ONLY! Dessert samples is a must the Coconut Creme Brulee to die for!

Ask for Patrick and enjoy him and this place and the food. Cats are about the place but none we encountered were annoying, they just added to the uniqueness. Pad thai and Pad se yu (however you spell it) were sampled by a couple of us, your choice of protein, all dishes are gluten free so the kitchen is gluten free. My pork was a bit dry but the catch of the day shrimp was great. Try the herbal teas, any or all of them. Come hungry or expect to need to take home some of these large portions. Don't leave without getting some dessert. Crème Brûlée plate is over the top good, just skip the cookie. The cheese cake plate, same thing, really good.

I haven't been to many Thai food restaurants in Costa Rica, but this one tastes as good as any other I tried elsewhere. The big highlight is the Tom Yum soup... As authentic as it gets, they use herbs that are hard to find in local cuisine, and the spice level is enough to make you sweat, but you don't want to stop eating. Noodles are also great, and the staff is as good as they can be. Prices match the quality and you can only pay cash or electronic transfer.

CAT CAFE + THAI RESTAURANT ALL IN ONE!!🐱🇹🇭 One a kind place! I used to live in Thailand and this spot had some of the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had! And Patrick is a blessing to this planet - what an amazing person and has true heart and care for animals and people! I had the pleasure to learn more about his incredible story and ALLL of the cats and dogs he has! What an incredible place and human. Also if you were to have told me there were OVER 25 CATS at the restaurant I would have come just to say hi to them!! This was a true surprise and made so many adorable kitty friends here including the sweetest kitty, Tigre! I was trying to actually find a Cat Cafe in Costa Rica and couldn’t find one, but this is even better!! This has the best Thai food AND a ton of rescue kitties too (and one hungry Raccoon :)! If you’re a cat person and/or if you’re a lover of Thai food, LOOK NO FURTHER!! YOU MUST COME HERE if you’re near Jaco!! I just wish I learned about this place sooner than my last day in Jaco otherwise I would have been here everyday!! To Patrick if you’re reading this - thank you so much for everything and sharing a bit of your story. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and all of your adorable furry coworkers :). I will be sure to be back the next time I’m in Jaco, and next time maybe we can surf some waves together! …Also definitely consider marketing this place as a Thai restaurant + Cat Cafe and maybe explore the idea of Cat Yoga during the day… the amount of interest and love from cat lovers you’d get would be through the roof!! Best food in Jaco. Fish fried spring rolls, pad Thai, wings, pad see ew, all of the curries. UNMATCHED. So fresh and delicious and the spicy sauce is so good, I have already been twice during my short stay and will likely be back. Ate in once and had a great experience, got the food delivered and had a great experience. If you're looking for good Thai food in Jaco or anywhere nearby, do not GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!

This is a beautiful restaurant, and we love how they are helping the cats. But the food tastes like mall Chinese food. We’ve been to Thailand many times, and this lacks any authentic flavor. It was painful to think what else we could have eaten for $25/pp (entrees only). (That’s likely just the area, but in San José, we could have had fancy Argentine steak or nice sushi.)

We enjoyed our meal here. But you better like cats. They were in the chairs, under the tables, and scattered around. We brought our fresh caught tuna, and the chef prepared sashimi for an appetizer and tuna steaks (a bit too much sesame coating, though)for my main meal. My husband had fresh spring rolls and the pad Thai. All was good. The peanut sauce with the spring rolls was amazing. But the meal cost was a bit high. It seems all restaurants in Jaco are higher than other Costa Rica towns.

The food was great, quick service, convenient location. We ordered the sababa mix for two and it was just the right amount for the two of us.

Highly recommend! Amazing quaint spot in jaco! The dinner plates are so good! Both the chicken shawarma and beef kabob plates were incredible. The hummus and salad it comes with are just as good! Be sure to ask for a side of their spicy sauce/salsa to go with it all!

Ordered the Sababa Mix in order to try a bit of everything and was not disappointed. The flavors of everything were incredible good, we really enjoyed the experience. The hummus was specially good, one of the best we’ve had. Would definitely go again.

I wish I could give the service 6 stars! Very attentive and polite server whose English was quite good. The food was delicious too; favourites being the hummus, beef kebab, and the Israeli salad. We tried the 2 Pax (2 person platter) and the variety of the meal was amazing. We also had leftovers which served us well for breakfast the following morning. Also, the best strawberry daiquiri I've ever had! Hey obviously used fresh berries and the balance of the drink was on point. If we're in Jaco again we'll absolutely be going back.

1st time eating at Sabress and the food was amazing. Jaco is heavily traveled but yet, reviews of restaurants highly rated are hit and miss. Many restaurants are run by locals catering to an American crowd. This gem is authentic Israeli food, which is rare to find anywhere - but least expected in the middle of jungle Beach town. The beef kabob was quartered inside of a grilled pita bread, with expertly charred edges. The multi-layered textures of crunch, chewy, and soft combined with perfectly seasoned meat is one step closer to heaven. The chef did not take shortcuts to craft the this artisanal delight. It came with a green salad, which I normally toss (literally and figuratively), but this had cranberries a d small bits of tomatoes with deliciously simple dressing. None of the ingredients were over-powering. The french fries were made better dipped into their home-made hot sauce. My app was charred eggplant with tahini sauce, with a whole pita to soak up the goodness. It was wonderful. This was the best meal of my trip and it is located on a side-street in an unassuming building. The lack of fancy decor did not detract, it only added to the value of this find. If I could make just two suggestions to the chef: 1) char the pita for dipping into eggplant like the kabob dish, and 2) serve the beautiful kabob on a flat raw wood plate - worthy of its creation. If you're in the mood for Israeli food, or haven't tried it but love Mediterranean food - go visit Sabress.

Low key, small Kosher resto attached to hostel. Very good flavors and excellent vegan/ vegetarian options. The hummus and baba were delicious were as creamy as the pita was fluffy. Falafel were dense in texture- but I liked them. Went back again and would return on my next trip!

Fantastic beer pub with plenty of options to choose from on draft and in bottles. Very neat taproom and very friendly owner. Worth stopping in here having a few pints.

Daniel the bartender/owner is so nice and knowledgeable. He was very welcoming and helpful as soon as we walked in, explaining all the local craft beer options and finding ones that fit our palates. There’s a great selection of local craft beer as well as bottles for more of the classics (Corona, Stella, Heineken, etc.) and wine and a few cocktails as well. Pizza shop is in the front, you just have to walk through the pizza restaurant to the back and you’ll see a door on the left for the beer house. There is also happy hour 5-7 everyday which is minus 500 colones (about $1) off beer. Definitely a must if you enjoy craft beer and a home away from home for your vacation!

Love this hidden gem of Jaco. Have been there several times over the years. Go with friends or go solo, you’ll make friends. The owner is super awesome and there are always great people here. Happy hour daily. The #7 IPA is my go to. Order pizza to eat from the place in front. The Pizza Shop. Also, you have to walk through said pizza place to get to The Beer House.

The best place in jaco, awesome spread of real ales, the owners are the warmest Canadian couple who make you feel welcome when you walk in and part of their family by the time you leave. A true slice of Pura Vida without the hassle, noise and headaches of the tourist traps out here. A must visit place in my book!

I had one mission while in Costa Rica: Find the BEST Tres Leches Cake 🍰… AND THIS IS THE PLACE!! It was so good that I had to come here almost every day to get more! The cake was absolutely delicious and perfectly moist and sweet! Also the prices are very reasonable ($2-3 for cup of coffee!) so if you need a snack or a place for breakfast, this place is PERFECT! Highly recommend if you’re in Jaco!

BEST DONUT EVER! I don't speak Spanish so I didn't want to ask about a few pastries so I went with a donut and one other item. I'm not big on donuts because they usually taste greasy and don't have a lot of flavor, not these. This was the best donut I've ever had. We even went back our last day to get them again. My son also said the croissants were the best he's ever had. Don't skip this bakery.

We stopped here on our way back to San Jose to grab a quick lunch. We ordered 2 empanadas and 3 churros. The churros were so good we went back in and bought more before leaving. The empanadas were also so good and so filling!

Nice little bakery. Great selection of sweet and savory and very fresh. They have good deals near the end of the day. It's set back from the road a bit and in a really busy spot on the roadway. Not saying that as a negative review of the bakery.....just more FYI because we missed it on our first try. Just look for the crowd. That should tell you something.

Delicious Gringo breakfast in Jaco Don't get me wrong, living in Costa Rica, we have grown accustomed to Tico breakfasts of gallo pinto and eggs. But there is a restaurant in Jaco with a breakfast menu consisting of comfort foods from home in the States. Pancakes, omelets, toast with homemade jam, delicious potatoes and a pot of coffee, not just one cup. This has become a favorite of ours if we are in the Jaco area. My husband always wants to stop at the pink Sunset Breakfast Place to get his fix. Give it a try if you are in Jaco! Life is good in Costa Rica. Pura vida

Hit the Sunrise Breakfast place for our first day in Jaco for some breakfast as a group of 6. They were very nice to ask another group to move to another table to make room for us. The menu had lots of options we liked and after ordering we waited quite a while for our food and didn't all come out at the same, but that's life down here. We all enjoyed our food and speaking with the owners who were also from the U.S. Nice easy place right on the main road. We may be back.

One of the first places we had breakfast when we moved here. Nice food and service and great customers. My biggest complaint is I don’t like whole wheat toast … but, I wasn’t complaining. Overall, it was a good breakfast. I’ve since been back for their pizza. Stick with the breakfast.

We dined here for our first breakfast in Jaco during our seven day stay. The food was ok and service was a bit slow. This is a very local breakfast experience which we wanted to try. We did experience heavy rain that morning and though the rain was wetting parts of our seating area, no one made an attempt to or suggested moving the large bench style table. We eventually got up and moved it ourselves. We had some mixed feedback from the five diners but given the slowness in service and the fact that the potatoes are deep fried, it’s not somewhere I will revisit. There’s much improvement needed with the facility and service.

They charged me more than the price shown on the menu when it was time to pay the bill. The waitress excused herself by saying that the menu she gave me didn’t have the updated prices. Also, the food wasn’t good—there are better places out there. I paid 100 euros for 2 pizzas, 4 hot dogs, and 3 beers.

What a great coffee shop in the heart of Jaco. I came here at the suggestion of a friend who lives here. I wasn’t expecting much due to the simple nature of the place but boy was I happily surprised. The cold brew was delicious. My wife’s cappuccino was epic. I will definitely be returning here. And for you English speakers, there are staff that speak it.

I don’t get all the good reviews here. Super slow service and really average food. We didn’t get our drinks after 15minutes of placing our order, so I got up and went to the counter to ask for it. The 2 baristas were standing talking nonsense with each other and only start preparing the drinks then. Finally got our drinks but the latte’s milk was cold. The food came lukewarm, it tasted only ok. The American breakfast was very average, scrambled eggs made of only 1 egg (stingy much!) and only 1 pancake (not PANCAKES like stated on the menu). I paid way too much for what I got. The price is not proportional. Had to clear my own plates and ask for the bill. In this case, to go collect my drinks myself and clear my own table, they shouldn’t have the audacity to expect a tip. There are many other breakfast places around, no need to tolerate such service and mediocre food.

Had been sticking to sodas for breakfast, ordering traditional dishes. This time I tried the American, which came with fruit mix, coffee, and juice. I was happy to see actual good serving of fruit and even though I don’t really eat toast, I pretty much ate all of it. Staff is friendly, that made the quick meal experience good.

I stopped by Marea Alta for breakfast and tried their ceviche as well. The food was fresh and flavorful, especially the ceviche, which was perfectly tangy and vibrant. The breakfast options were satisfying and well-prepared, with thoughtful presentation and a nice variety on the menu. The ambiance was welcoming with a relaxed, coastal vibe, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a great spot for a laid-back meal with a beautiful view.

Food is just okay, the pork chop is hard to chew and oil in the vegetables doesn’t taste clean, a little greasy in my opinion. I probably should ordered olla de carne that day instead.

Chifrijo…have you really been to Costa Rica if you haven’t had it?? I asked people from the area where to get the best in Jaco and they quickly said Marea Alta so of course we had to go. We got the chanchita (pork), pescada (fish), and camaron (shrimp). Omg!! Everybody was in food heaven. The rice and beans as the base were amazing, the pico was fresh and citrusy, the chips perfectly seasoned, and every protein sang in our mouths. And the portion size…we all ate twice from a single order of chifrijo each. Try chifrijo then try marea Alta and go back again and try another one!!

Very good coffee, and nice food, for only 1000 you have two fresh coffee dripping in front of you on the table. The portions off food are too big, the food is nice the Pollo con rice is so big you can eat with two, And the funny thing is they add fries.....Don't miss out the very nice terras on the first floor! And the original Costa Rican dishes for only C 3800

A good place for seafood. We had dinner in here, and we enjoyed the entire experience. The fish was tasty, and the soup was good, too. However, the steak was okay. Overall, i would suggest this place for seafood.

My friend and I were walking the strip back and forth when one of the servers noticed us and invited us in — super friendly gesture that made us stop. I ordered the Chicharrones de Cerdo and my friend got the Churrasco. The wait was short, and we enjoyed a couple of Costa Rican beers while watching the street and the football game they had on. The food was delicious — my chicharrones were juicy, the fries crispy, and the salad simple but fresh. My friend finished his steak in minutes, so that says a lot. Overall, a great spot with good vibes and solid food. Just shy of a perfect five, but definitely worth checking out.

Frozen shrimps drowned in butter and garlic served with microwaved vegetables. The order was for grilled shrimps, not at all grilled. Very disappointing food experience of not being served fresh shrimps despite being so close to the ocean. Their Casado is also very cheap and only has a fried breaded fish filet as the "fish" option. Blend taste and doesn’t represent the typical Costarican dish. Unfriendly service and not at all receptive to feedback on the food. Many better options on the main street, so keep walking for another restaurant.

Service was really bad. Food was OK but they definitely charge Gringo prices. 4500 for Gallo pinto and eggs. Waaaay to much. I used to come here all the time but as a white person when you don't see prices posted be prepared for the Gringo tax. I won't go back. Rústicos is much better and more affordable. Soda Garabito is as good and the same breakfast is 3000. Costa Rica is already too expensive without being charged extra... And I've been coming to Jacó for 30 years. So bye bye Marea Baja. The simpler was nice and relaxing. It wasn't too loud even at the bar. I had the teriyaki chicken. It was good, crispy, tasty, not overwhelming 9/10. It can't with veggies, extra sauce, hot sauce on the side, and chips. Two thumbs up.

You can get a dish for 5,000colones, the food is nice and they have different options. There is a salad bar, and with your dish you get refill.

I'm an American, I must say this first. It's a nice and clean place they have serve your own juices, I didn't care for them just not my taste. We had to go plates. They serve you rice, your choice there are two to choose from. Then different kind of meats you can choose from and a stuffed tomato that was good. There is a good amount of choice and amount you get for the money. I would not come here again because it was kind of bland but filling and quick on a budget.

A must stop if you're driving you highway 34. Our driver recommended that place for lunch (on the way from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio). Our criteria was - fast, cheap, local and good quality. This place fit the bill nicely. We went for buffet - you choose your meat and sides, and you can go several times for the salad bar, fruits and soft drinks. The place was packed with locals. I loved their seafood choices (shrimp and fish). Highly recommend to stop there.

Beach bar & restaurant connected to a hotel that’s steps from the beach. We ate here for lunch and enjoyed the ambience, waves, and iguanas running around in the sand. The food was delicious with the exact flavors we were looking for. Tropical shrimp, sandwich, and fish tacos all great choices. Service was incredibly slow with only ~10 patrons in the restaurant. We may have waited >30 minutes after ordering

We ate here daily, while staying at the Hotel Jaco, and were very impressed with the presentation and taste of the food. The staff went over and above by accommodating requests and even made our custom smoothies. Anderson, Carlos (Charlie), Jos, and Albertson were friendly and attentive.

The food was so good everything we tried we enjoyed. I’m pretty sure they saw us everyday . The drinks were very tasty with fresh ingredients could have been a little stronger. Anderson , KoKo and I forgot the lady name either the glasses were amazing .

We really enjoyed this place, had dinner and then came back for breakfast. Both were excellent. Staff is friendly, helpful, fast and efficient. The open-air location is nestled between the hotel, swimming pool and a stretch of lawn leading out to the beach. There are a few iguanas and very friendly cats roaming about which everyone enjoyed. I highly recommend this place, and would definitely return.

We were surprised by the rave reviews for Sea Salt Restaurant because our experience was mediocre at best. While the beachfront location and views are undoubtedly beautiful, the rest of the experience didn’t live up to the hype. The food was average, and the mixed drinks tasted watered down—not what you’d expect for a $140 meal for two. Compared to other amazing restaurants we’ve tried in Costa Rica, this was by far the most disappointing and overpriced. That said, the service was great, with friendly and attentive staff. Unfortunately, even with the excellent service, we wouldn’t recommend it.

Amazing food. Everything I had was so fresh and delicious. The bar staff is awesome! I made new friends in Anderson, Valentina, Joss, Alberto and Carlos. Manda Huevo! Just fix that beeping noise ha maybe the router above the refrigerator on the right.

The iced americano was not the best. The waffle was barely edible, taste was like stale plain wheat bread. The rice and beans was good. The croissant with eggs, avocado and bacon was good.....except the croissant was too dry. Cool location... with surfers..hippies..and tourist families stopping by... i gave 5 stars on convenient location...not on overall food and beverage... which is probably a 3.8 star. Service was good

This coffee shop is so great super easy for parking and in a great location down town Jaco! The food and drinks were delicious. We had the breakfast bagel which was amazing and the waffles! They have a wonderful big menu of fresh made to order breakfast options which is not always thee case at coffee shops. The shop has a nice atmosphere is open at 6 am (which is hard to find around here) and there and the staff is super friendly and accommodating! I totally recommend for a delicious breakfast or coffee. They even gave a little treat to us for my sons birthday 🥳 which was so nice. We will be back!!

Great coffee with vegan milk. We got the mocha and they even made it less sweet for us. I also got an iced latte which was delicious.

I’m so glad we stopped here on our way to the beach. My friend and I wanted breakfast and this was the perfect spot! I had their pancakes with fruit toppings and they were scrumptious! My friend had a cafecito and croissant sandwich. Highly recommend.

I definitely like to try new places when I travel. We went here for breakfast after going surfing. I ordered 2 of the same thing to go, which came with coffee or orange juice. I asked for orange juice for both orders. While I was sitting waiting for my food, she brought 2 cups of orange juice with large ice cubes in it. I was disappointed because I already knew I wasn't getting much orange juice. I drink it anyway, and less than 5 sips it was gone. So, I took the other cup back up to her and asked her if I could get it with no ice. She spooned the ice out, and instead of filling it with orange juice, she poured it in a smaller cup and said no ice you get a smaller cup. I looked at her and that cup and said your cheating me because I didn't want ice. With an attitude, she took it back and got me an original fresh cup of orange juice. For me, this experience rubs me the wrong way, so I will avoid going back. Today, we went to Mary's diner and got a nice cup of orange juice with no questions asked. I recommend going to Mary's diner. It's small but cozy!

Best coffee in Jacó! No confusion if you stray in your requests - a cappicino ( versus the milk heavy latte). Food is great including the Keto breakfast. They quickly recognized us as repeat customers which is so nice! Highly recommended. When we were searching for a construction company to do an addition to our house the builder (Jose Pablo of Ximetrix, an exceptional and reliable builder!) gave us Alex (Jet Fuel owner) as a reference - he was really nice which follows why this place is so wonderful! We also got connected by them to a super helpful tour guide - Alejandro, to drive us to SJO airport and pick up on our return. All so very good!

Overall, we loved our stay. Great views, pool, and beach access. Staff was friendly and attentive. It’s close to the road so you do hear trucks, but it’s not too bad. Watch your fingers if you try to feed the iguanas!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Club Del Mar. The rooms were beautiful and many let out right onto the beach within a 2 minute walk. We took great advantage of the large well lit pool both at night as well as during the day. If you take advantage, the spa is wonderful and we had a great couples massage. What really shone more than anything to us were the overwhelmingly kind and attentive staff. David from the moment we got there was incredibly gracious from the start in showing us to our room up until our last few hours. Jason went very much out of his way to help us make our return flight home after a freak accident closed down the highway to the airport, as well as helped me celebrate my partner’s birthday with a few small surprise gestures in our room. I can’t praise the staff enough. Everyone was kind, attentive, and informative from the servers and bartenders all the way up to management.

Great boutique hotel on the edge of Jaco. Friendly staff, from front desk to housekeeping, to service staff. Excellent beachfront for the most amazing sunsets. Well equipped rooms. Easy for me to recommend a stay at this lovely hotel. The only negative was traffic noise, and even that wasn't a huge bother. Thanks to all at club del mar, for making our time in Jaco so peaceful.

For warning: they charge $5 per small basket of chips. We ordered the $10 table guacamole and there were 4 of us, so we ran out of chips quickly. We were not aware we were being charged each time we asked for more. It is a very pricey place to eat. Our tab was $145 without tip for lunch. I did enjoy the open air seating and the drinks. It is also located right in the middle of Jaco and the shops. The food tasted better than most Mexican food that I found, but not worth the price. I had the whole fish, which was extremely overcooked, but it was still okay. If this place was not so expensive and they did not charge for each basket of chips I would come back.

Pretty good food, the sashimi was awesome, looked so good we ate it before remembering to photograph it. The tuna looked like tuna belly and was dressed with sesame seeds and maybe balsamic vinegar. It also had drizzle of Lizano sauce to make it taste Costa Rican. My wife had carenitas with a pineapple salsa and I had the burrito with chicken and "wet" for 2 USD more. We both had the homemade ice tea which was wonderful despite being a little more tart than Canadian Ice tea.

Dined here on our first day in Jaco and dined here again on our last. Their almost famous Guacamole is so delicious. They make it right on your table. The staff who served us were so nice and generous, esp Sergio, Manfred and the other guy who made our guacamole on our last night in Jaco. I forgot his name. They are everything you would look for in a server. We ordered the red snapper, burrito, fajitas and the casado typico. They were all great.

We had a fantastic experience at Jaco Sabor! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, and a big part of that was thanks to Caro, our waitress. She was absolutely amazing friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed with a big smile. The food was just as incredible! We had the ceviche, garlic shrimp, and fajitas, and everything was packed with flavor. The ceviche was fresh and zesty, the garlic shrimp was perfectly cooked and full of rich, garlicky goodness, and the fajitas were sizzling and delicious. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and put care into every dish. Between the delicious food, the relaxed atmosphere, and Caro’s wonderful service, Jaco Sabor is definitely a spot we’d recommend to anyone visiting Jacó. If you’re looking for great flavors and an even better dining experience, this is the place to go!

Jacó Sabor is a great local spot just outside of the main town of Jacó! If you’re looking for something very authentic, this is the place. The food is delicious, the portions are huge, and the prices are very affordable. We ordered the traditional Casado dishes and the chicken and rice — everything came out hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. The smoothies are massive and perfect to cool off with. Highly recommend stopping by if you want a tasty, local Costa Rican meal without the touristy prices.

Marveli and Tanya have authentic Costa Rican food and atmosphere including a family style seating table with bohemian swings for seats. The Mojito is best in town and the food is delicious.

Cute little Costa Rican restaurant. We grabbed some take out from here and it was delicious! We had the Patacones appetizer, Arroz con Pollo and Arroz con Mariscos. Prices were good too! We will definitely go back and might eat at the location for lunch.

My favorite place to come every time I visit Jacó!! You are truly missing out if you don’t stop by. My favorite dish is the casado with grilled fish. Unbelievably fresh. I especially love if it comes with picadillo de chayote. The patacones are also to die for. I dream about Jacó Sabor when I’m not here.

My friend and I were on a ATV tour and our tour guide took us here for lunch. This place did not disappoint. The food, service and view of the mountains is superb! I can’t wait to come back!!!! I had an empanada mixed with chicken, cheese and beans. That was the best empanada I ever had!!!!!!

Yes it is an out of the way place but on top of the world with a great owner, cook, and Wood fired cooking that is down to earth real tico food. Catching the views during the rainy season can be tricky but the experience is so worth it, if the views don't pan out on your first attempt. You will go back up the hill again once you meet Senora Marta and her food. She does not speak much English but she smiles in every language. If you have a bilingual friend have them ask Ms Marta how she ended up at this location with her restaurant.

This was the most authentic meal! This was absolutely amazing and so beautiful. We used Piko Travel and he suggested we eat here and it was spot on. Family owned small business and they cook with fire right in front of you. The scenery was incredible, this adorable rustic restaurant was on the very top of the mountain. Loved it!! Best food anywhere!

Our group saw Rancho Shadday on YouTube. Great views, lovely people, and delicious food! It's a little bit of an adventure getting there from Jaco, but well worth it! Empanadas not pictured but they were very delicious as well! ¡Que Bueno!

WARNING - if you're driving from Jaco, dont take the shorter path. The drive is dangerous. You need a good SUV, dirt bike or a truck to make it up there. If you take the drive on the short path just dont turn back. Going down would be worse. Google maps will try to take you this way because its shorter. You can first drive to a town called Lagunillas and then have google maps direct to Rancho Shadday. Drive from Jaco will take about an hour but its much safer. Now overall the food is great. Fresh taste, best empanadas iv ever had. And the view is great. A must visit place

What an experience this place was. Amazing food, views , service, the owner comes and talks with everyone, outdoor old school open kitchen. Best food while in Costa Rica and they even make margaritas. The best I had while in Costa Rica and I drank more than I Would like to admit. Easy to order by pointing at the varied dishes prepared that day. No menu to fumble over. Price is reasonable for dinner - we paid about $13 per meal. And the drinks were also very good and varied with each visit. And refills are free. No ac but the room was airy and comfortable with fans

Goood gallo pinto and good chicken with tomato sauce and their braised beef brisket in mushroom gravy was really good. We'll braised, sft and tender meat. Good stuff. Clarita's restaurant is NEW and improved! Brand new construction with a beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, right on the beach. Ignore the old reviews, as everything has changed. Upscale look with reasonable prices. The food is good, but the view is even better. Family friendly. Do not miss this gem!

This restaurant was recently renovated and revamped, and the makeover is unbelievable. The entire experience has changed. It’s now an upscale restaurant with stellar service, amazing ambience and excellent food. The view is excellent, the waitstaff is bilingual, and the bidets in the bathrooms are Whoah - an extra touch! It’s become one of the better restaurants in Jacó.

Food was fantastic. Service was a bit slow even though we were the only table there. Construction was going on with the new addition to rhe complex so it was difficult to determine if they were open or not. Did not stay at the hotel as we were staying at a nearby condo.

Clarita”s is right on the beach but tucked away from the crowds. Beautiful stylish design with great attention to every detail creates a modern, chill vibe. We will definitely be back.
