Heladería El Barco was hands down the best of the three ice cream shops we tried during our visit to Jacó! The service was super friendly and welcoming, and they had lots of different options to choose from. The servings were generous, the prices were affordable, and most importantly — the ice cream was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re craving a sweet treat while in Jacó!

Excellent service and very kind employees. They let us try a few samples before we ordered. The ice cream is a very affordable price, especially if you get a cone instead of a cup. The flavors are good, but it won’t be the best ice cream you’ve ever had in your life like gelato in Italy. Still, It’s a great option for Jacó, and they even have flavors that change each day too.

For those hot beach days this is the spot to go too. Get the banana split and try there smoothies too. I like the different flavors they have to offer and the variety ways they can mix stuff up for you. I am happy you really get your monies worth here. It's great they have flavors I have never seen in the US before.

Heladería el Barco is an absolute must-visit for gelato lovers in Jacó. Their flavors are a symphony of taste, from the classic chocolate to the most adventurous tropical concoctions. Each scoop is a creamy, dreamy indulgence that will transport you to gelato heaven.
Unfortunately, the store's popularity is its own worst enemy. The lines are often out the door, making the wait for your icy treat feel like an eternity. It's a small price to pay for such deliciousness, but it's definitely something to keep in mind when planning your visit. If you have the patience for a crowd, Heladería el Barco is undoubtedly worth it.
Tip: Try to go during off-peak hours for a less chaotic experience.

Really good flavor and variety. Their sundae is probably their best value.
We enjoyed the sundaes, good portion and fair price, however while eating in the seating area we were confronted by a couple with a very large dog that insisted on sharing their political views in a very aggressive manner. In a few minutes everyone cleared off of the patio. The couple said they go there every day so I would advise the owners to do something or they may drive away business.
Good gelato considering you're in Costa Rica! We got the chocolate vanilla in a waffle bowl and it was good. They were quite busy but the staff was friendly and let us sample a couple of flavors. 👍

Both the sweet and savory bakery are unique in taste. I have never tasted anything like this anywhere. The only thing complicated is the parking slots but you can park on the side of the street.

I had one mission while in Costa Rica: Find the BEST Tres Leches Cake 🍰… AND THIS IS THE PLACE!!
It was so good that I had to come here almost every day to get more! The cake was absolutely delicious and perfectly moist and sweet!
Also the prices are very reasonable ($2-3 for cup of coffee!) so if you need a snack or a place for breakfast, this place is PERFECT! Highly recommend if you’re in Jaco!
BEST DONUT EVER! I don't speak Spanish so I didn't want to ask about a few pastries so I went with a donut and one other item. I'm not big on donuts because they usually taste greasy and don't have a lot of flavor, not these. This was the best donut I've ever had. We even went back our last day to get them again. My son also said the croissants were the best he's ever had. Don't skip this bakery.
This was an everyday stop on my morning walk while staying in Jaco! Latte was perfect, service was friendly and the place was clean and smelled amazing
We stopped here on our way back to San Jose to grab a quick lunch. We ordered 2 empanadas and 3 churros. The churros were so good we went back in and bought more before leaving. The empanadas were also so good and so filling!
Nice little bakery. Great selection of sweet and savory and very fresh. They have good deals near the end of the day. It's set back from the road a bit and in a really busy spot on the roadway. Not saying that as a negative review of the bakery.....just more FYI because we missed it on our first try. Just look for the crowd. That should tell you something.

The homemade gelato is praised for its authenticity and delicious taste, with unique flavors made from real fresh ingredients. Customers recommend trying the pistachio and the key lime pie flavors.
Real homemade gelato. Maybe a tad on the sweet side, but delicious. The pistachio was the right color, i.e. no artificial coloring was added. The Affogato was made properly and served in a martini glass, as it should be. Sure it’s a little expensive, so just go once and enjoy!

Delicious, great vibe, adorable gelato-scooper! We are in love with this charming gelateria in the midst of Jaco stimulus! It's chill, there are vegan options, the gelato-scooper is polite and rather stunning, and we all exhaled with joy upon spooning the flavors into our mouths! Additionally, there were some premium flavors that we ordered, and they were so kind to let us know that those were slightly more $. They didn't need to tell us bc it was already clearly labeled on the sign, but he wanted to make sure we weren't surprised. Solid thumbs up for this place!!!
Rebelissimo Gelato Genuino offers some really unique and creative flavors of gelato that you won’t find anywhere else in Jacó. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and clearly made with quality ingredients. The only downside is the price — it’s definitely on the higher end compared to other spots in town. But if you’re looking to treat yourself to some top-notch, flavorful gelato, it’s worth a visit!
Such rich flavors of gelato! Hubby loved sea salt caramel, I loved the toasted coconut. Also sample the vegan chocolate which was really good. Pretty decor and fun atmosphere!

Nice place for a cool treat in the heat. POPs has been around for a long time for a reason. The portions are good, price is reasonable, and there's a pretty good range of treats to choose from. We had crepe, ice cream, banana split during our visits. All were excellent. Staff were also very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this place.

This is the most delicious creamy ice cream. It reminds me of Canada’s basking robins but creamier. They have a lot of flavors for not vegan and non vegan ice cream. I love their coconut and their fruit ice flavors the most.
Their “cono triple” triple cone is the best deal for the price:) and comes in a big waffle cone. It’s the most ice cream you will get for your money from all the things on the menu. A must try! My favorite was the orange ice but they have not made it for a couple years. Hopefully they bring it back!

I’m addicted to ice cream. I started my diet today and failed as I walked by this place. I will now walk home and hate myself for walking in. The ice cream is a 8.25 out of 10 in ice cream taste texture but the waffle cone carried a whole 1 point. Today is the last day I eat ice cream for at least 30 days. I hope... damn this is hard

The selection of cakes is equally impressive, with each slice being so substantial that even the heartiest appetites would be satisfied. Breakfast options are not to be missed either; their French Toast is a visual treat and a culinary delight.
This is the best bakery in town. Particularly, their sandwiches are best of the best. Delicious Fresh Pastries and Bread Baked right before your eyes!! reasonably priced and the cake was great and freshly made it was the best cake ever and on top of the list the owner was really nice and friendly too

A really really good French bakery right in the heart of Jaco. I had the cinnamon roll and probably the best home and croissant I've had ever.
What incredible breads and pastries this place puts out. My guests who 'don't eat bread' were asking to 'pass the bread, please' multiple times at dinner. Then I pulled out the choices of cake slices. I cut each slice into 3 pieces...any one of which would have satisfied a lumberjack after a hard day's work. There was no clear winner among the choices. Each bite was better than the one before.
And then this morning we ordered this for breakfast: French Toast. I will let the picture speak for itself.
Great omelette for breakfast! The only reason I couldn't give them that 5th star is because they don't have a clear menu for people visiting. It looks more like a bakery, and the guy showed us breakfast items that we couldn't see in the shop on his phone. It would be great to print an actual menu with options!
My son and I treated overselves to an afternoon delight. The owner and employee provided excellent customer service. The desserts were delicious!! I highly recommend this bakery.

Fantastic bakery with a large menu. Had some great options for fresh breads that were perfect for makings sandwich's. Had a delicious bread with sausage crumbles baked in and cheese on top (was informed this bread is only made on the weekends). The chocolate croissant was yummy as well. Had a large variety of cakes that are worth trying as well. Would love to come back and try more.

Pura Dulzura Heladería is a great stop in Jacó! They have an English menu available, which made ordering super easy. We tried the Helado Rizado mix and it was delicious—the small size was more than enough to satisfy our sweet tooth. They also have hard scoop ice cream with lots of flavors to choose from. We’ll definitely be coming back again to try the bubble tea! Great spot for a cool treat.
Stopped in today after walking by for months. I usually get coffee next door but today I just decided to try it.
I was offered free samples of ice cream, another American was sitting outside and told me it was the best ice cream he ever had but I wanted a cold drink instead. I had a boba drink and it was really good. The ladies weee so very polite as well. I’ll def be back!

The customer service is amazing. She was attentive, friendly, and courteous. We had the soft serve vanilla and blackberry. Delicious and full of flavor! We tried their Kurtosz ice cream cone, which is like a donut cake with Nutella with the ice cream of your choice and topped with fresh strawberries. Nice cool concept and tasted really good, too. We've tried the gelato and the other ice cream spots at Jaco and this is by far the best and our favorite. Too bad they close early so we have to make sure to plan accordingly. The seating area is nice as well. Must try when visiting Jaco.

I stopped here for a quick coffee, I ordered the cappuccino frío, it was delicious! If you haven’t had them here and you are from the US they a little different then you’d expect, as they include a scoop of ice cream, so yummy!!! The staff was also very friendly!!
