Malindi marine boat excursions

Malindi marine boat excursions offer a fantastic way to explore the coastal town's aquatic wonders. The tour takes you on a water vessel with a skilled captain and friendly crew to three pristine islands, showcasing their natural beauty. The Malindi Marine National Park, adjacent to Malindi Beach, is home to prolific marine life including crabs, sea urchins, jellyfish, and more.
There's not much going on there, to be honest. Great views for sure. And we walked from the marine park to Vasco da gama pillar, so a good experience generally. You will be required to pay for some things there though, that's if you want, for example the excursions. But the entrance is free for the beach. Don't carry plastics, though. That's prohibited
Edwin M — Google review
The variety of exotic marine life was breathtaking. The local guides are super knowledgeable and really love the ecosystem. How to get there: Malindi Marine Park is located 25mins away from Malindi town. You can use a private taxi, a three-wheeler (Tuktuk) or a motorcycle. The boats all have lifesaver jackets and the guides are well trained. What to carry: Swims suits and loooots of sunscreen😄. The expert guides will provide you with snorkeling equipment within the package. Payment: You will need to pay the Kenya Wildlife Society (KWS) Park Entry fees at the gate, either via Mpesa, or Card. No cash payment is accepted for the entry. The boat excursion will range between $45 - $65 depending on whether you're on a private excursion and you have the whole boat to yourself or whether you're sharing with other guests. Time: There's two type of experiences while at Malindi Marine Park. You can decide to do the full day excursion which sets from 9am, and sails to the Marine Park, and further to the Magic Island, and finally to a private island deep in the water. Here, you'll get a chance to eat freshly grilled seafood. Boats return by 3pm. The other shorter and more popular experience is the Marine Park and Magic Island excursion which takes roughly 1.5 - 3hrs depending on the time you visit.

We called the number stated here and were connected to a guy, who came to our hotel to explain about the different options or boat trips. We got a very decent price for snorkeling and bbq on the island. We booked a private tour. All was very well organized, very polite captains and delicious food!

Restaurant
Osteria Beach Bar & Restaurant in Malindi is renowned for its high-quality, rustic Italian cuisine and seafood dishes. The menu reflects a dedication to excellence, offering a taste of Italy's culinary heritage through expertly crafted pizzas and pasta. Situated in the heart of Malindi, this restaurant provides an ideal setting for a romantic fine dining experience. With its seafront location, Osteria offers breathtaking views and a delightful atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience.
The best restaurant in Malindi, Kenya! Awesome service, the most delicious food I’ve ever ate - grill platter with lobster and mixed seafoods! We celebrated birthday of my mother and the stuff was super kind and made our party 🎊 The views from the restaurant were amazing, the atmosphere were super good and the beach in front made it look like paradise!
Vyara I — Google review
Well, mixed feeling about this place... The starter was a carpaccio from a red snapper, which was the worst carpaccio for the whole month of stay in Kenya...The fish seems was like a paper, it looks like it was defrosted quickly and served, also it filled like it was marinaded with a vinegar or something sour, while it supposed to be a raw fresh with olive oil. The tuna tartar was OK, not the best, but okay. The main course was the best one - nicely grilled squid (tasty but small portion), lobster and piece of fish, everything was well grilled and good. Served with good chips (french fries). Pizza in this place is average, mid size only available. Wine part: there were only 2 kind of wines offered in the bottles, but it was just a regular wine that you can buy in the supermarket 3 times cheaper (fact, checked ✔️), so we asked for a few glasses of the house wine. It was good, but overpriced for a glass. I think this place is good overall, but improvement in the service is needed, more wines to add to the list, there are good wines in Africa, also it is very important to have a napkins served for the each table (we did not have any, while other tables had them).
Maxim N — Google review
Confusing entrance & I think they have sold this restaurant so someone else because the name on the gate is different. Fantastic seating at the beach, remove your shoes & let your feet sink into the sand. Food was ok, I don’t understand why people assume we want the pizzas to be ‘extra cheesy’ - a little goes a long way. They were also out of some items in the menu including drinks! Would recommend Rosada which is next to this restaurant.
Irfan V — Google review
Good service and clean bathrooms. Loved the pizza as well, perfect thin crust. Sit inside if you don't like the wind blowing fiercely, but if the beach is for you, knock yourself out.
Abigail A — Google review
Absolutely amazing dining experience. You can either sit under a beautiful shaded veranda, or dine right on the beach with your toes in the sand. We went twice, once in the evening and once for lunch. Amazing pizza, I recommend the seafood pizza especially. Ingredients were fresh and prepared well. For lunch we ordered sea food platters. The lobster and prawns were fantastic. Good selection of non alcoholic drinks. We got the virgin pina colada, excellent and refreshing. Would definitely recommend this place for any holiday goers in Malindi. It's not too far from town. 5-10 min drive. Very accessible by tuktuk as well. Should not cost you more than 150 from Malindi town centre.
D I — Google review
Lovely ambiance and beautiful breeze. The service was good right from the car park guy. The food was ok. Our table had the grilled snapper and pastas. The carbonara was on the saltier side but overall ok. Ice cream was good. There are stands selling clothes and african jewelry.
Berny K — Google review
I was excited to go to Osteria, given the raving reviews I’d heard. Not so excited anymore. The service is for tears and the set-up of the place is so average. The pizza was good though, and the wine was also quite nice. The ambience is not bad, it makes for a nice experience to eat by the ocean.
Michelle N — Google review
A mouthwatering variety of dishes, exceptionally well done food, paired with bad service. Set by the beach with a cool breeze, has a small pool perfect for kids, and beach beds. Has a broad variety of Italian dishes and fish, from pizza to risotto. Only draw back is exceptionally slow service. If you aren't willing to spent most of your afternoon waiting for your food, might not be the place for you. Have a flight to catch? You might as well end up leaving your food as it does take more than an hour, even after you mention that you have a flight when making your order.

Vasco da Gama Pillar, a historic site in Malindi, is one of the oldest remaining Portuguese monuments in Africa. Erected in 1498 by Vasco da Gama during his voyage to India, this coral column topped with a Lisbon stone cross symbolizes the appreciation for the welcome he received in Malindi. It stands as an iconic structure representing the historical connection between Portuguese and Kenyan cultures.
My wife and I did a visit to the Vasco da Gama Pillar in Malindi, and it was such a memorable experience. Standing by the historic monument, with the ocean stretching out behind it, really made us feel connected to the past. The views were breathtaking, and hearing the waves crash below added to the magic of the moment. It was a special stop on our trip, where history and nature came together beautifully. We appreciated our guide for the explanations 👏🏽👍🏼

I lived the dedicated tour guide and explanations of things that happened. I loved to see the first catholic church and also to know the traditions of Mijikenda people in the coast. It was a lovely experience.

If someone is at coast in Malindi and misses to visit this place, then one would miss a very important piece from history of not only this region but also of South Asia as well. This place reminds how and what was discovered and what is importance of this coast of today’s Kenya. The entrance requires a ticket which includes a guide who accompanies when you visit the place and briefs in detail about the history. Price of entry ticket is reasonable and one caution in parking. The parking closer to the small office is safe place to park, I mean the office where they issue tickets but this is not very spacious and you will be lucky if you will find parking there.

The beach was absolutely stunning with massive waves crashing against the shore . Standing at Vasco da Gama's pillar felt like touching centuries of maritime history. Peter O — Google review
Watamu has a very unique and interesting beach experience. A large portion of the coast is covered tall rock cliffs. This lends itself to some every unique exploring and some cool stuff to see. High tide is beautiful with the waves crashing over the rocks. The beach portions are predominantly white sand and are great for sandcastle building or beach sports. The wildlife is less than some other parts of the coast and the sunrise/sunset can be hard to see because of the coves, however it's a gorgeous place to live or vacation.

Hosteria Romana Watamu is a charming Italian restaurant located in Watamu, Kenya. Run by an Italian couple who moved to the area from Rome, this cozy cafe offers authentic pizzas and Italian dishes that are perfectly complemented by a cold Tusker beer. The restaurant is known for its hygienic environment and beautifully decorated interior, creating a delightful dining experience.
Great pizza, great service and a good price.
David H — Google review
We had 2 pizza’s here, one with anchovies and one with fish. Both were a bit too thick and dense and both way too salty. Service was good though and the place was clean. The owner (I think) came and started smoking and video-calling right next to our table, which was a bit intrusive. All in all an ok experience, but probably best to keep away from the fishy pizza’s.
Bob — Google review
Italian restaurant. Service was very good and fast, owner keeps serious attention to this which is appreciated. Carpaccio was really delicious, focaccia was awesome as well(they have the real stone oven there). Prawns cocktail was OK, but nothing special, easy meal, prawns are small, carpaccio was much more enjoyable. The tuna main course was good, 3 big chops of the fresh tuna, good and big meal. Pizza was taken to go, and actually it was nothing special, we tried much better in Kenya (other Italian restaurant). It supposed to be the seafood (tuna, shrimps, squid), however it was mostly tuna pieces there.. House wine (Italian) was very good, with a reasonable price. Overall, it is a nice Italian restaurant to spend a time for a quality dinner.

I have been at Olimpia with friends and kids to take tennis classes and also to eat at the restaurant. The staff is simply marvellous and very welcoming. The tennis coach is great and very patient with kids.if you go in the morning for tennis class, you can have coffee and a chat with a group of very friendly and nice Italian who know Malindi very well. The food at the restaurant was very good and authentic Italian.I advise the jumbo prawns, ostriche gratinate, and the Gran grigliata and Gran fritto misto.we will definitely go back again!

Very bad experience with this place... We had a massive food poisoning from the meal... The atmosphere was OK initially, however there not so much people around, while all the tables were prepared. We order oysters as a starter and we noticed that taste was strange. Oysters were served just on the plate without ice, also there were not separated properly from the shell and we had to scratch them by the regular fork(not special one). Also there were some pieces of broken shells in some oysters... Then we ordered a sea food platter - it was not big, however lobster, squid and fish were grilled well, however prawns were twisted or tortured, no idea why, it looked horrible. Grilled vegetables were not looking well, especially grilled potatoes, like from yesterday... Next day we had a serious problems, my girlfriend was poisoned for 3 days... Most likely the problem was with oysters... I would not recommend this place.

And the Bootle was opened although we had made an reservation one day before. The manager treat us very rude and he mocked us in Swahili cause he didn't knew i understand some

I give it a 2 star because it's beautiful inside, spacious and nice location. It was my first day eating there though I see this restaurant all the time, I order for mango smoothie, waiter goes for almost 10 minutes then comes back to say there are no mangoes so I ordered blueberry smoothie which he brought after a couple other minutes as he took my chicken biryani order. I sip it and immediately notice something is wrong, then immediately the drink suspended itself and made layers in the glass😳😳. I call the waiter and ask him why they served me bad smoothie what if I got food poisoning from it? He says maybe the person who made it might have added lots of ice cubes that's why it's forming a suspension and I clearly tell him NO! You served me bad smoothie. My biryani comes, nice potions but not to my expectations, it comes with no sauces and when I ask, they bring cold soup in a bowl and some pilipili which enhanced the taste alittle. I was hAngry at this point so I just ate and went to wash my hands same direction as the cashier. I notice the waiter that served me and I ask him, "so you knew that the smoothie you served me was bad but you still have it to me?" Tell me why this waiter laughs like any of that was funny?! Remember, after taking back the smoothie, he never comes back to ask if I would like to substitute it with any other drink or if there's anything else I needed! He doesn't offer any apology about the spoilt smoothie but instead laughs about it! I paid my bill and walked out of there a dissatisfied customer who might never go back there because of so many reasons! Who serves their customers bad spoilt food?!! Don't joke with people's health! FOOD POISONING is real and you can be Sued!

Nice restaurant in Malindi close to the airport. They have a VIP lounge with AC but it was hardly working. Ate the chicken biryani which had a nice Swahili touch to it. Also ordered a side of fries that weren't really fried properly. Can't really complain though since the place was very economical.

Nestled in the lush greenery of the jungle, Gedi Ruins Malindi is a captivating archaeological site that offers a glimpse into the rich history of the Swahili people. Dating back to the 13th century, this ancient Swahili village features well-preserved remnants such as mosques, palaces, and town houses. The ruins are not only an important research site for understanding ancient Kenyan culture but also house a museum displaying a wide array of excavated artifacts.
Gede Ruins is like stepping into an ancient Arab ghost town — spooky, magical, and oddly charming. The old stone walls whisper secrets of the past, while the nearby Snake Park serves up slithery entertainment, from tiny noodles with fangs to full-blown pythons. And the monkeys? Total hustlers. Flash a peanut or banana, and boom—they’re your new furry backpack!

The lost ancient history of East Africa. It is not known who lived here. It is an interesting ruin with a very nice atmosphere. Do not approach at night as you may be cursed.

Entry was 500 ksh. No guide is needed, but they might give you useful information about the ruins. However they might not give you the full tour around, since the outerwalls are further. A good cultural stop on your way to Lamu. It took us about 1h

Visited in Dec 2022. Butterfly farm welcomes you. Interesting history on the ruins. Appreciated work done by snake park especially with the community and anti venom.
Daniel W — Google review
Very authentic place. We had a knowledgeable tour guide called Hudson who was patient and explained to us the set up of the Ruins with the different houses and potentially who lived there. The excavation we were told was only a fraction of what was still buried underground, which was fascinating to us. We also visited the snake park, which could use a bit of a revamp. The last stop was the butterfly house, which was a bit underwhelming to be honest. Worth the stop over as a morning activity on your way to Watamu though.

Gede Ruins in Watamu is an ancient Swahili settlement abandoned in the mid-17th century. The site includes a fortress, mosques, tombs, and villages within a tropical forest inhabited by monkeys and other wildlife. Visitors can hire guides who provide informative tours of the area. It's recommended to bring snacks like nuts or bananas for the monkeys or buy them at the gate. The ruins are photogenic and well-maintained, offering a great representation of nature.
Amazing history dating back more than 500yrs. A very big town this was. If you have kids be careful to hold their hands through the visit. There are very deep ancient holes and wells in a few places. A fall would be fatal. This was my second visit and we really enjoyed. Much recommended.

Learning about the history of the site was the most interesting thing. Like how smart our forefathers were and their great interventions. I got a great tour guide who is well versed with the history. I also bought some very good quality Honey from the community hub.

The view is amazing and the food is fresh and tastes very homemade. The flies could be a bother during the day though but they have a rosemary burner that helps. The wait staff are also very friendly and attentive. Good dining experience 👌🏾

The food taste was brilliant (soups, risotto n the complimentary focaccia) dessert choices were exotic , the ambience n location are all excellent too the choices of food n dessert were amazing also the service was good.the only disappointment was in the billing when they billed extra for a mistake on the menu or the waiter ( explanation of the waiter was not clear) for one of the liqueur based dessert which mentioned to include the coffee icecream + liqueur while the price showed 400 we were charged 350 for ice cream n 400 for the sambuca.

Beautiful and delicious Italian restaurant just out of central Malindi. I had the Mediterranean pizza and it was wonderful and filling. They also have craft beer here on draught! Prices are a bit on the expensive side, but still reasonable given the quality of the food and experience. Would definitely come back!
Sean M — Google review
Bad service, food is ok not great but ambiance is great (suitable for a date). For outside seating there are two areas: one with benches and another one with proper tables, linen, lights etc. I asked to sit in the nice area but I was told it’s fully booked. I counted six empty tables. I sat at the benches and thought nothing of it. After I ordered a seafood platter I was told that there’s an empty seat in the nice area. I felt bad when I realized that those tables were never filled. I counted nine empty tables as I finished my food (see pictures below). Despite the awkward treatment I enjoyed my meal. The shrimps and calamari are great but the lobster and fish not so great. The lobster is chewy which means it was either frozen or not well cooked. The ice cream is not great either. There are other options for dessert that looks better. I paid around 30$ for the seafood platter which I think is overpriced. I would pay less in Rome. All in all the ambiance is worth it but there are many other options for food. The manager is super nice tho as he helped me find change and WiFi

Wow... We came for a late lunch/dinner as a group of 16 people... Despite reservations the kind Italian Lady in charge made an extended table possible and our orders were cooked to perfection... Crab Shack Dabaso, located in Watamu, is a community-run restaurant built by the Dabaso Creek Conservation Group. It aims to promote eco-friendly activities and protect the environment. The restaurant is well-known for its famous crab samosas and boardwalk. When searching for dining options in Watamu, Crab Shack often appears as a popular choice.
Nothing can beat walking to your candlelit restaurant across the boardwalks through the mangroves to watch the sunset over the lake whilst eating fresh prawns, crab, and lobster. I didn't get any photos of the food, mainly as it was too good not to eat immediately! In many ways, I want this to stay a hidden gem as it's an amazing find, but they deserve every success as the restaurant is a local community project and does so much good for the local area and habitat. Five stars, amazing!

The Portuguese Chapel, also known as St Francis Xavier Chapel, is a significant historical and religious site located in the coastal town of Malindi. It holds the graves of two sailors from 1542 and is associated with Vasco Da Gama's voyage to India. Ruby M — Google review
The Portuguese Chapel was built in 1952 as the first place of worship in the East Africa located in Malindi town near Vasco Da Gama. It marked the beginning of Portuguese presence in Malindi. The chapel was build in an Islamic dominated town with 17 Mosques at the time as part of the Portuguese factory. Near the chapel, there are two graves of sailors who died before Saint Francis's voyage to India. These sailors were buried there by Francis himself in 1542. The chapel was abandoned by the Portuguese in November 1698 but was later revived by the British who arrived in 1893. While the Portuguese were successful in trade, they failed to establish a lasting Christian presence in East Africa, gaining only a few converts in Malindi and Mombasa. The Chapel today is managed by the National Museums of Kenya, serving as a historical monument and a testament to the early Christian presence in the Region. The entry Charges to the chapel is Ksh 100 which is paid through mobile money on E Citizen platform.

Baobab restaurant offers a diverse menu with options for everyone, including vegetarians. The staff is known for being friendly, helpful, and efficient. The atmosphere is described as having a truly African feel and it's a great place for people watching. Customers have enjoyed the lovely food and the opportunity to see the sea while dining outside. Families appreciate that kids are allowed to run around and interact with cats on the premises.
Food slaps so hard. Ate the Fish Milanese 3 days in a row 😍 Would highly recommend the place to anyone heading to Malindi!

Very nice place. The food was great. We had all different dishes. And everybody liked what he/she got. Compliments to the chef. The service is good and very friendly. We really felt welcome. Had a very good time. In Malindi? Dont miss this place!

Probably the best burger in town. The mince is ground freshly since they have their own butchery. Lots of flies though.

The food was excellent and very affordable. The staff members were extremely friendly. I enjoyed the sea breeze and ambience of the place in general

@Malindi and need a real meal. This should be your destination. Nice view of the Vasco Da Gama Monument and the Indian Ocean

The restaurant could do with some redocoration, but everywhere was kept clean and tidy. The staff are brilliant - very friendly, helpful and efficient. There's an excellent menu with something for everyone including vegetarian options. I had curried chicken breast with chips and mixed side salad which's was well cooked and very tasty. For desert I had ice-cream with fruit salad (fresh pineapple and water melon). I had fresh tamarind juice to drink which was excellent. It's nice sitting out on the terrace with a cool sea breeze and views over the ocean. Thoroughly recommended and I'll definitely be back again

If you find yourself in Malindi and have a hankering for authentic coastal fare, be sure to visit Simba Dishes. This eatery is well-liked by both locals and adventurous tourists due to its cleanliness, efficient service, and generous portions of local delicacies at affordable prices. Simba Dishes is a highly regarded establishment for Swahili cuisine, offering delectable dishes like biryani chicken and pilau.
Very nice local place, with extremely quick service. The food is proper Kenyan food and it is cooked close to perfection. Portions are properly sized, so you will have a full stomach once you leave.
Martin L — Google review
Their food is OK. Their tea(milk) has a funny taste. It's not freshly brewed and has that flask Thermos smell. They can do better on their tea.
Peter M — Google review
For those who want an authentic coastal food experience I recommend this place. The food is always fresh and if you delay, you might not find your favourite items on the menu. I had the chicken biryani, the servings were so filling that It was shared between two. It's also a good place to meet locals and also learn more about malindi.

Simba Dishes hasn't changed over the years. The setting is simple, but clean. The food is excellent, and service friendly :)

Best Authentic Kenyan food in Malindi. If you want real Swahili dishes this is the place to be. Biryani, Pilau, Mahamri, Kenyan tea. Totally recommend the Chicken Biryani and the Kenyan tea with spices. I had the best tea at Simba Dishes. Very local place, does not have the 5 star ambience but very clean and the tastiest food in Malindi. The locals eat here so great place to see authenticity. Staff very professional and food is delivered fast!

Bar
KB Bar is a reliable establishment that appeals to fans of the Karen Blixen brand and is also kid-friendly. The cuisine, while delicious, may require some patience due to the typical wait time. The staff members are polite and supportive, adding to the overall positive experience. Situated in a central location, accessing the compound might be perplexing for some visitors. Nevertheless, KB Bar stands out in Malindi with their exceptional food quality, particularly their delectable seafood platter and pizzas.
One of the best restaurants in Malindi, everything was good, the place is very beautiful for date with your partner. Pizza, pasta a lot of kinds and a lot of different Italian food that I even don't know those names but I believe it could be interesting experience to try this food. About prices, they are hi, but like in half of the restorants in Malindi, it's not most expensive, but at least here it worst. If you don't have a lot just take 1-20pizza here, some of them less than 1k (2025).
Ilay S — Google review
Everything was fantastic, but we didn't know it was a dedicated smoking restaurant. That totally ruined a fantastic seafood platter. However, if you are a smoker you'll love it.

Before I even start talking about the food I need to really give a big praise to the exceptional service! The waiters are polite and very attentive throughout your stay and fast and efficient. For the first time after a week in malindi me (Italian) and my wife (Kenyan) have been treated nicely and with respect! I was even afraid to come here after we had a VERY bad experience the day before at baby marrow restaurant but luckily this one is in another league. Also the food arrived at the right time and all was fresh and really good! My wife wanted to try some Italian food since we arrived here and so far for one reason or another we never succeeded! We will definitely go back to try something else apart from the pizzas we had this time. Thank you to the amazing staff once again.

Lovely outdoorsy Italian style cafe. They've got a little library of Italian books (history, romance, fiction, non-fiction, etc.) including a history of Spain '82! The waiters are nice and helpful and their portions are generous. Theres also a good alcohol collection for different tastes. There'll also be little birds to keep you company. Before coming, or when you are done, there'll be plenty else to do around the area - especially in the evening. Highly recommend it.
Godwin B — Google review
Their food is the best in malindi. Sea food platter and pizzas are very sweet. However they need to designate a smoking zone so that the place can be favourable for nonsmokers and children.
Sue M — Google review
The experience was one of a kind...I enjoyed the food and most especially food and exceptional customer service.I'll visit the restaurant everytime am in Malindi.
Mercy N — Google review
Nice place. Italian taste. It’s a traditional place. Very nice Italian food with varieties of coffee and snacks. It gives those who travel malindi a lot of happiness. Because from the tropical heat you can escape to this restaurant just on the street and is very accessible. When we are tired of the beaches this is a best hideout place. Thanks too the management.

We had the most amazing time at Scorpio Villas and would strongly recommend it to anyone seeking a perfect getaway. The place is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful, exotic design that creates a relaxing and serene atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering a charming touch of the local style. Plus, being located right by the ocean, the views and ambiance are simply breathtaking. The food was incredible—fresh, flavorful, and with plenty of variety to suit all tastes. The service was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect during my stay. Their friendliness and professionalism truly stood out. A special thanks to Gastone and Shila, who made our stay even more memorable. Your warmth and hospitality turned this trip into an unforgettable experience, and I’m so grateful for the genuine friendship we’ve built. Scorpio Villas is a gem that combines comfort, beauty, and impeccable hospitality. I can’t wait to return!

My only complaint was that the drain in the shower and sink drained slowly. Otherwise, I felt well cared for, and the location right at the beach is a big plus! Beautiful grounds! I took a few pics and vids! And the chef was very accommodating to my dietary needs.

i had visited the hotel once before the pandemic and it was quite the experience from the services of the hotel staff, to the ambience and comfortability of the rooms in the Malindi heat an the recreational pools wee definitely one to look forward to. After the pandemic they have done quite a bit well recovering from the loss of tourists from local and outside market. They maintained the care of the hotel environment with the architecture being infused with the coastal nature still inviting to tourists. The service was not as great i assume because of loss of staff as well as maintenance of the rooms some didn't have all the equipment or complimentary toiletries were not as much as before again understandable .the beds were comfortable and a tropical hotel without air conditioning would be a failure. The pools were also taken care of and cleaned but not as inviting as before cause there were no guests to enjoy them. The way to their private beach was a plus especially the sleeping area was excellent! I believe the makuti beds made it so relaxing with the breathtaking you into a blissful rest as you can hear the beach breeze and the privacy was a good idea as you wont be bothered by the hustling coastarians if you are not interested in buying anything. The restaurant overlooking the beach(coco beach)is also an excellent chill spot for the drinking adventures. Unfortunately they don't serve lunch at the hotel meaning one has to go out of the hotel to look for some this may be a good idea if one is interested in walking around Malindi to visit the culture it has to offer but if one does not plan on leaving the hotel they would be disadvantaged. All in all I would like to advice them to continue striving to be where they were before but it would need local support as well. I would go again if they made improvement on the rooms, the entertainment and more extracurriculars activities to the guests.

It's a lush tropical garden paradise with diverse villas that are spread out across the property. Such friendly and helpful staff at hand to assist in any way. Felt like I was in a jungle paradise. The rooms were clean. The beach was just a short walk away through a private beach access.

Spent a couple of nights here. Resort has good value for money..right by the beach and hosts 4 swimming pools. The only concern I had was the bed linen and cleanliness of the room Also the quality of the cocktails weren't to standard. Good thing the hotel is near to everything :)
Alisha R — Google review
Nice spot that backs right into the beach. Buffet style breakfast and dinner. They have an all inclusive option for drinks. Multiple pools and nice little multi room villas. Massages and spa if you’re looking for that sort of thing. Just far enough from the bustle of Malindi but close to other restaurants and places to go.

After two years cooping with pandemic, without possibility to travel, I am again back in Malindi and in my preferred hotel restaurant there, SCORPIO VILLAS. Really it is one of the best hotels I have ever been. There is everything you need to relax: a wonderful garden, four swimming pools, the beach, two bars and an amazing restaurant with the best food in Malindi. Rooms are nice and clean, the staff is very friendly and always ready to help. It is on the beach, close to the city center but in a very quiet place. And Coco Beach is the most beautiful beach bar in Malindi, thanks to its wonderful position, facing indian ocean. Just try it and verify.
