Waterfalls
Waterfalls Akchour is a stunning natural attraction near Chefchaouen, offering a peaceful escape into nature. The trail to the park is easily accessible with convenient parking. Visitors can enjoy picturesque views of gorges, mountain rivers, and cascading waterfalls. While the paths are suitable for casual walking, climbing to the Eye of God requires good physical condition due to narrow and steep sections. The area provides opportunities for swimming in cold waters and encountering monkeys along the way.
Absolutely lovely place! It's quite a hike and the biggest waterfall is quite a walk. If you have energetic children then that's great, if not, then I wouldn't recommend going all the way round with the kids. Lots of little places to stop and eat/drink. Lovely fresh orange juice everywhere. Grill places to eat. Lots of waterfalls to see on the way round. Definitely recommend for a day out, its worth it 😀

We hiked up to the last big pool (around 2h20) and it was totally worth it. The trail is surrounded by stunning nature, amazing vibes, and beautiful waterfalls all along the way. It does take effort to get up there, so it’s not for everyone, but if you can make it, you won’t regret it. We also stopped at the “little waterfall” on the way back and had the most delicious tagine, super tasty, great service, and really fair prices. Honestly, the whole experience was just amazing.
Dean B — Google review
Beautiful spot. Quite touristy to start with, popular with locals and tourists alike. But further up towards the waterfall or Gods bridge tracks the crowd thins out quite a bit. These are fairly easy tracks with stunning views of the stream, valley, mountains and nature in general around with many tagine and tea restaurant on the way and even more mini falls and pools to dip into for a break. And the "final" waterfall is simply stunning and swim in the pool above or under is refreshing. Push through the people and police to the further parking lot and then just follow the trail through the valley. We did the waterfalls just under an hour one way with small kids in tow. Brilliant half a day family trip. If you want a proper hike for a full day or more there is plenty more to explore though. Gods bridge and beyond in the national park. For that you may want to hire a local guide, some were available at the parking lot. Or at least ensure you are well prepped as the trails are of course unmarked and there is no signal in the valleys.
Anna R — Google review
Wonderful hike! You can take a shared taxi or haggle for a cheaper private taxi to get here. We agreed on one way 150 dh and hitchhiked back to chef. The hike is about 7.5 miles to only the waterfall. The god bridge is an additional two miles. The hike was fun- some technical pieces climbing some cinder blocks to cross rivers and many different ecosystems. The waterfall was dry, which means you can climb inside!
Aisie M — Google review
Never seen such a beautiful place like this before, LOVE IT, btw the water is very COLD.
Daniel M — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. Make sure to wear something comfortable that's NOT slippy and make sure you try the orange juice that they sell there, it couldn't get any fresher. (15DH)
Hajar S — Google review
Nicely refurbished. Wow, when you enter. If staying one night, fair enough. If more, I can not imagine: the quality of plumbing, installations and fixing is just disasterous. Wash basin not fixed, water leaking all the time from shower and closet, smelly sink, some lights not on…. And having spoken to other guests, my room was not the only one. If making treks around in the mountains, I can not imagine being here several days. Pitty.
PAVEL Č — Google review
Had a nice day here and everyone was having a good time, swimming and families gathering. *Warning* If you are driving there, the roads are probably some of the worst I have driven in Morocco. Very narrow, with switch-back tight corners and Taxi drivers and some local drivers, desperate to overtake.... they drive/overtake as if their life depends upon getting one car ahead. It's actually sad to see such arrogance and disregard for others safety. Drivers will cut every left hand bend, so they are taking the shortest route around the corners, meaning they appear 20% on your side of the road, leaving you with no where to go, except the pot holes to the right side of the road! Just know to expect bad driving and ensure you drive defensively, this I found the safest option. The drivers behind are going to overtake, I'm convinced they simply cannot resist the addrenaline rush with death!!! If you're going by taxi.... honestly, I would NEVER put my family into a Morrocan taxi for a journey such as this. (you must first observe the disgusting driving, to comprehend my observations) I am really surprised to not see more accidents than we did. (some if the head-on crashes we did see were brutal and completely avoidable, if only the drivers were better educated). Parking at the Akchour falls was 20 MAD, get there early as the carpark gets very busy. we went on a Monday in August. Lots of food vendors and places to buy drinks along the way. Its at least 2.5 hours to the main waterfall, but the are lots of smaller falls and pools to enjoy. Take lots of water and replenish along the way.

Guest house
Nestled in the heart of Chefchaouen, Dar Echchaouen Maison d'hôtes & Riad offers a charming stay with traditional Moroccan decor and a polished restaurant. The hotel boasts comfortable and tastefully decorated rooms that create a cozy atmosphere, making for an enjoyable experience. Guests can enjoy mesmerizing views of the sunset from their windows, adding a touch of magic to their stay.
I didn’t stay at the hotel, but it definitely looked great. I visited the restaurant food was delicious, and the service was honestly the best in the area. I also took a quick tour inside the hotel, and it was impressive. The rooms looked really nice and well kept. If I ever come back and need a place to stay in the city, this would be my first choice.
Abdullah W — Google review
The place is very beautiful and relaxing, and the staff are kind. Their breakfast is also good. We had booked a room and they upgraded us to a suite — really awesome! The only downside is the location, since you have to walk a bit, and also the parking — you need to catch a spot early.
San — Google review
Amazing riad so relaxing and beautiful. Perfect location walking distance to main area. Breakfast omelette was great. Property and room was beautiful. Super safe and clean. Stay here on a tour with intrepid and it was my favourite place. Pool was awesome tooo.
Susanne H — Google review
Words cannot describe the absolute beauty of this place and the picture quality on my phone does not give it justice. You truly need to see the Spanish inspired design of this magical hotel. I promise you will not be disappointed. The huge bed, mix of timber, tiles and white wash it definitely matches the Amalfi Coast.
Lee S — Google review
This hotel is so pretty you'll never want to leave. Every corner you look there's something else to go wow over. Pictures don't do it justice. My only complaint would be the coffee at breakfast- not good. But I'd still return in a heart beat. Perfect location.
Natasha B — Google review
Beautiful hotel with lots of character. Lovely outdoor swimming pool. Good dinner restaurant. Satisfactory breakfast buffet. A fairly easy walk into the medina. You will be woken up early by the call to prayer - probably unavoidable anywhere in town.
David S — Google review
We spent two nights in Chefchaouen at this hotel. The moment we stepped through the front gate it was a beautiful scene with a fountain and flowers with a mountain backdrop. We were welcomed wirh tea and a sweet. Then, when we went to our room, and walked up to the covered terrace above, the views of the 'blue city' were spectacular.
William S — Google review
This was day 4 of our journey and the blue city (Chefchaouen) was absolutely stunning. The atmosphere of the hotel, the service and the food were all impeccable. If coming to Morocco I recommend making a stop to Chefchaouen, the city is stunning with very friendly people.

Bouzafer Mosque, also known as the Spanish Mosque, is a historical and architectural gem located in Chefchaouen, Morocco. Built in the 15th century, it features octagonal towers and is dedicated to the patron saint of the Jebalah area. While non-Muslims are not allowed inside, its stunning architecture makes it a worthwhile visit.
Best viewpoint in Chefchaouen. It gets a bit crowded at sunset, but still an amazing experience. Definitely worth the short hike from Ras El Ma to go there.
Asad C — Google review
Don’t expect you can watch a real sunset as the mountains would block it. But the vibe is nice since so many people are misled by the internet. Many article even say that the Spanish mosque uphill is not in use which is also wrong.
Norman C — Google review
I almost gave up but once you reach up there, the view was out of this world. It is free but should go early to get the best spot
Nurani A — Google review
Beautiful views and the sunset was romantic and easy to get to. About 30mins walk which is worth it. Many people go there for the sunset but if you prefer quiet i will recommend early in the morning between 8-10am which was beautiful.
AZD — Google review
The Spanish Mosque (also known as Jemaa Bouzafar) is a historic structure built by the Spanish in the 1920s during the Spanish occupation of northern Morocco. The mosque was constructed by the colonisers in an attempt to introduce a more ‘Spanish’ version of Islamic architecture and religion during this colonial period. Interestingly, the mosque was never actually used for worship as it was rejected as too 'foreign' by locals. Up at the mosque, visitors can experience what is perhaps the best view of the whole of Chefchaouen. There is a lovely hike up to the top which while steep is generally quite smooth. It takes about 20 - 25 minutes each way. At the summit there are often goats grazing around and there is a café where one can buy teas and other snacks to enjoy whilst taking in the views.
Rohan H — Google review
An amazing view from the top. Quite a climb but worth it.
Khatija J — Google review
This is a great view point over the town, and a good place to start the road up to the next village and next mosque where the views are even better.

The view is nice good landscape and also on the way , the mountain is surrounding the place,However it’s just a regular mosque like every other.

Sofia is a popular restaurant in Chefchaouen, known for its Moroccan and international cuisine, including delicious steak dishes at affordable prices. It's a favorite among visitors with limited budgets and offers a comfortable setting for family or friends gatherings. The restaurant also caters to vegans with options like vegetable tagine and sandwiches. With its cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and reasonable prices, it's a great choice for those seeking vegan-friendly dining experiences.
The harira soup was rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of spices. The couscous was cooked to perfection and paired well with the tender chicken in the lemon tajin. Overall, the meal was delicious and highly recommended!! Thank you
Cindy L — Google review
Very nice local restaurant, it feels like it represents the area too with the food options. Price is good as well, for two people 10€ would be more than enough for a meal with drinks!
Salaheddine L — Google review
Great local spot. We had grilled vegetable sandwiches, Moroccan salad, fresh orange juice and a fresh mint lemonade. Food was flavourful and portions were generous. Simple delicious options and a nice quiet atmosphere.
Rach R — Google review
Probably the best tajin I've had in my two week visit to Morocco. This place is run by women who seem to prepare the food for their guests the same way they would do for their family. It's unassuming, not that easy to walk by despite being close to the central part of the town. We ordered the meat tajin and the mixed cous cous. The cous cous was good, but the star was the tajin. Well seasoned, and with the meat being fork-tender. Note that preparing a tajin takes time, so be prepared to wait.
Fuad T — Google review
We came here after reading many positive reviews on Google, but unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. We ordered the Chicken Tagine and Couscous with Chicken — both dishes were completely flavorless, just plain steamed chicken and vegetables. We could barely eat anything for dinner. If you want to save your money and avoid leaving hungry, do **not** visit this place.
Mayuri — Google review
Lovely restaurant. We ended up having a delicious lunch and then getting a takeout for our evening meal. Food was great, tasty and just right. We tried a range of dishes and all were spot on. The cafe is run and staffed by women. Highly recommend 🤩

Ist is one of the hidden gems in town, a place where the women cook with love and the food taste so authentic and rich. We loved it. As vegetarians we were fully served with all we need. Great spirit and great taste. It’s very local somehow, the ambient is basic but beautiful in its own way

Café Sindibad is a welcoming restaurant in Chefchaouen, known for its friendly staff and cozy ambiance. It's a great option for both meat-eaters and vegans, offering dishes like vegetable tagine and pureed root vegetable soup. The restaurant also provides free wifi and has a lovely upper terrace with amazing views. While reservations are not required, they are recommended during peak hours to secure a table.
Located in a convenient location close to the kasbah and square, nice view, well designed interior and exterior, very clean, and amazing staff. I ordered a chicken tagine with vegetables. Although other guests order with salad or other side dishes, it was a good portion to be full for me this time. I'm satisfied and I'll visit again!
Noriko K — Google review
The entertainment and roof top view are the only things good about this restaurant. I waited 30 minutes for the waiter just to give me a menu. Meanwhile, he gave a menu and served the people beside me. The food was not good. I ordered a traditional Moroccan dish and it was the worst I’ve had in all Morocco. I only recommend this place if you’re gonna stop by and have a juice and enjoy the view.
J S — Google review
Great location with nice view overlooking the village. Plenty of choices from the menu and the food is delicious. Friendly staff and fast service. They do take card payment. Just a bit overpriced in my opinion, but worth it for the view.
Suciani A — Google review
I have to agree with other reviews, we were charmed by the lads at the front door, while the views are beautiful, I think the food lacked flavour, the salad didnt seem fresh and no seasoning in some part of it.. a lot of the food seemed to be sadly microwaved. We waited over 40 mins for our starter, at the end you get no receipt for your bill, they calculate the bill with a calculator so you have no way of checking it which I thought was strange and not ok. Also they informed us just at the end that they did not have a card machine.
UNIQ S — Google review
We stopped in to take a break from the heat and to have a coffee and tea. The upstairs terrace was empty so it was a great place to chill and relax for a bit before our bus left.
Team T — Google review
Had dinner at this place recently and it was the most disappointing experience I have had during my stay in chefchaouen. Food is overpriced and portions are not even enough for one person. The only nice thing about this place is the rooftop view which can be found in other places with more affordable and nicer food. On top of this we were lied to about a live show that was gonna take place at 19h and no one showed up. I don’t recall being this disappointed with a restaurant this much as I did with them. I don’t recommend it to anyone
N C — Google review
Find somewhere else to eat if you want decent service and nice food. Our server was completely unprofessional throughout our time here and had no interest in us. We ordered a pot of mint tea which was just placed on the table and when another couple came he poured their teas for them! We then ordered pizzas which came luke warm with the cheese hardened. To top off experience the server also put on music to impress some women who quickly left and he let the music continue to play loudly before turning it off when his boss came upstairs. Complete tourist trap!
Kurtis J — Google review
Sindibad Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with breathtaking views from its rooftop terrace, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a meal while taking in the stunning landscape. The ambiance is relaxed, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The menu features a variety of traditional Moroccan dishes, and while the mixed grill is flavorful, meat lovers may find the portion sizes on the smaller side compared to expectations. However, the standout dishes include the Couscous, Chicken Tagine, and Lamb Tagine, all served in generous, satisfying portions that highlight the rich flavors of Moroccan cuisine. Each dish is beautifully presented, showcasing the country’s culinary artistry. One unique aspect of the restaurant is the presence of many friendly cats wandering around. While they add a charming touch for animal lovers, those who aren’t fond of cats might find it a bit distracting. Additionally, it's worth noting that paper bills are not available here, which may be an inconvenience for some diners. Overall, Sindibad Restaurant provides a lovely combination of good food and a picturesque setting, making it a memorable stop during your visit.

Dar Jasmine Hotel

Hotel
Perched on a hillside, Dar Jasmine Hotel offers breathtaking views of the city and sunset. The "Jaipur" room is charming and spacious with a lovely balcony. However, be prepared to climb 150 steps to reach it. The hotel's staff is known for their exceptional service, going above and beyond to assist guests in need. Despite the uphill trek, the panoramic views and peaceful atmosphere make it worth the effort.
Stunning choice in Chefchaouen and honestly in any location. The attention to detail in everything embraces you as you walk the stairs to a piece of heaven on the hillside. The decor, room, cleanliness and the incredible staff made this a memory I will hold for some time. The meals were fresh and local and I am fairly sure even more delicious on the outdoor terrace. Try the orange juice (delicious), olive oil, homemade bread, local goat cheese, divine olives - try everything!

Elegant hotel with different theme room. Our room is Havana. Great view. Not very easy to get to: lots of stairs. Hotel provides porter to carry luggage to the hotel.
Chun-Ho K — Google review
Gorgeous hotel with view but there's like 200 steps to get to reception which I wasn't aware of. Food onsite is pricey and not that great but they have a captured audience if you're not wanting to climb down and up the stairs to go to another restaurant. Staff are lovely and the hotel is stunning
Syd — Google review
Almost perfect. Beatiful hotel located on the Hill. So perfect view on the city. We had a senior suite (jaipur) with view on Chefchaouen. Interior was picked carefully and matched with location. Room was also spacious enough. Only minus on the room was when sitting on the terrace your beautifil view of the city was gone because you looked at the stone ballustrade of the balcony. Tip, make it a see through fence in the style of the building when you ever change it. Second remark was temperature of the water. For this price range hotel I think a heated pool is a must. We visites in october and water temperature was very cold. Dinner and breakfast were perfect and staff is very helpfull and friendly. Last remark is that you have to walk a lot of stairs, but worth the effort. But difficult for older and disabled people. So I think Maybe best choice in Chefchaouen
GAAF V — Google review
A really beautiful and relaxing hotel, the best of our trip. This hotel is good value - the service is excellent and the pool is amazing after a long day in the sun. Chefchaouen itself is a quieter town and this hotel is even more so. Breakfast was good. Dinner was okay but the service all round is really wonderful. We had some in-room massages which were also lovely. Although the 136 steps to the hotel were okay for me, you may like to reconsider if you are older or less mobile. The porters who take your luggage up for you are amazing.

Our stay at Dar Jasmine in the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen was nothing short of incredible, and the highest praise must go to the staff. From the moment we arrived, the entire team was amazing, but their true dedication shone through when we encountered a small issue (not at the Dar Jasmine but in Casablanca). They were immediately there to help, trying to solution it for us with genuine care. This level of proactive, heartfelt service made all the difference to our trip. We especially want to thank Abdel and Fatima Zohra for their memorable assistance, the amazing restaurant staff, the staff who brought up our luggage, but honestly, every member of the staff contributed to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Thank you, Dar Jasmine, for an incredible stay. We absolutely loved the hotel and our time in Chefchaouen!

A beautiful gem nestled in the heart of Chefchaouen! Dar Jasmine is a truly magical place that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning beauty of the hotel and its breathtaking views of the blue city. The friendly and helpful staff awaited our arrival at the feet of the stairs leading to the entrance of the hotel and carried all our luggage swiftly and with great care. The accommodation was sparkling clean and impeccably maintained, making our stay feel so comfortable and refreshing. What truly sets Dar Jasmine apart is the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly attentive, warm, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Their genuine hospitality and willingness to go above and beyond for their guests is a testament to the high standards of this Dar accommodation. It felt like a perfect home away from home, and we were so sad to leave. We cannot recommend Dar Jasmine highly enough to anyone visiting Chefchaouen. It's a must-stay for an unforgettable experience! Each and every request we put forward was met proactively and promptly fulfilled, even the request to help us learn a bit of Darija, with all the staff putting together a document with words and phonetic transcription and little notes at every occasion. What a warm and friendly experience! Also worth noting is that all the staff worked in perfect harmony and with a level of cohesion and cooperation amongst themselves that was truly remarkable and more typical of the dynamics of a real family where everyone helps everyone whenever they can. A true slice of paradise one step away from the vibrant and busy Medina. Stepping inside Dar Jasmine felt like leaving the whole world behind while keeping it at reach on request. Will definitely be back next time we visit Morocco.
Benny S — Google review
I booked for 12 people 7 rooms and specifically stated at the time of booking that I would need to serve my own cooked dinner to my guests and asked them if they would be able to accommodate us, they said yes and that we can choose when we arrive, which area we would like. We were very excited to come and stay there. Despite the walking up the many stairs to get there, we knew that at least we can have a nice warm dinner. As we arrived, we were notified that we cannot use the kitchen, we said we don’t need the kitchen as we have all our food ready cooked, we just need to heat it up in our own pots, use our own dishes and then wash them with our own staff that came with us to attend us with our needs not wanting to burden the hotel staff with that. All worked well (besides some of the AC in some of the rooms) in the 100 degrees weather, in the morning we were told that we need to pay a fine of thousands of dirhams because of the crime of using the kitchen, and because we had other guests on the premises, we said we had everything prearranged and that our staff wasn’t staying there, they were only there to attend while we had our private dinner, and that those charges would have been acceptable had they been told to us in advance, but it’s not fair to slap us with “fines” on so called crimes. We also had a bag of expensive drinks that “went missing” when they brought it up from the street. We needed it for dinner, but nobody of their staff could find it. Our staff were looking in every room and couldn’t locate it. Only the next day when we asked them to look at h cameras they miraculously found it. And they became very hostile. They threatened to call police on us and yelled at us very unprofessionally. We left with a very sour taste in our mouth from a hotel we should have enjoyed - we paid full price and we had to leave carrying our own luggage down 100s of stairs, like criminals, because their staff was told not to help us. I know one thing I for one will never stay there again and I wouldn’t suggest others to stay there. It’s not owned by a local and all he needs is your cash and isn’t there to serve you. I’ve stayed at countless other hotels in Morocco and all of them were excellent with their service. Dar Jasmine failed us.

Kasbah in Chefchaouen, a small citadel dating back to the 15th century, was built to fend off Portuguese invasions. It now houses an ethnographic museum, art gallery, and Andalucian-style garden. The fortified castle complex offers stunning views from its tower and is located in the historic medina's main square. The peaceful gardens provide a tranquil escape from the bustling square.
Bought a ticket on sight for 80dhs. I had seen the Kasbah from viewpoints of the city so was keen to look inside. Great experience to visit the earliest footprint of Chefchaouen. Digital exhibitions not functioning and not much English language in the signage but awesome anyway. The origins of the city! Go early

I had an unforgettable experience visiting the Kasbah in Chefchaouen. Every corner is preserved beautifully, giving a real sense of the town’s rich history. The museum inside is informative, and the gardens are a peaceful retreat. But what truly stood out were the spectacular panoramic views from the ramparts—perfect for unforgettable photos and peaceful moments. The staff were welcoming and helpful, adding warmth to the visit. A must-visit if you're in Chefchaouen—authentic, scenic, and brimming with charm!

Very beautiful place, entry 80 for one adult. (Watch out for people at the gate offering you to help get in for a higher price). There is only one entrance located in the middle connected to the big square. The tower gives you a beautiful view of the Medina and the garden is very pretty. Unfortunately most of the explanation text is in French, Spanish or Arabic, no English. It’s small but beautiful nonetheless.

It is a beautiful site, but the low review score is based solely on the cost of the ticket. There is nothing but a small garden inside, and you will get better pictures from outside than inside, and that too with no cost. The tickets are around USD 10 per person and not worth it in my opinion.
Nazim L — Google review
Beautiful garden, very calm, the museum does not have a very big variety, but it's nice to visit. People working there are nice.

Go on a sunny day so you can enjoy the garden. It's interesting to look around but most info is in Arabic only, or Arabic and French. There was a great photo exibit about the Jewish people who immigrated to Chefchaoen after being forced out of Spain, very interesting, info was in Arabic and English.

Located in the heart of the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is a stunning Moroccan town known for its distinctive blue-painted buildings and serene atmosphere. The town’s Kasbah, a historical fortress dating back to the 15th century, stands as a symbol of Chefchaouen's rich cultural heritage. The Kasbah was originally built to protect the town from invasions, and today it houses a beautifully restored museum and lush gardens, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's history and traditional architecture. Wander through its narrow alleyways, enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains, and experience the unique charm of this magical town. Chefchaouen is not just a place to visit, but an experience that blends history, culture, and natural beauty.

The atmosphere is really lovely. They have a well-kept garden with a hidden pond. There are two exhibitions about artisanal work, which are only in Arab and Spanish. You can climb up the tower. There are more pictures about certain aspects of cultural creation of the local tribes. Nice photo place specially the arcs in the tower. Coffee was closed in winter time.

Plaza Uta el-Hammam, located in the heart of Chefchaouen's medina, is a bustling square surrounded by restaurants, shops, the Kasbah, and the Grand Mosque. Visitors can explore the Kasbah and its gardens for a small fee and enjoy panoramic views of the city from one of its towers. Plaza Uta el-Hammam is the central square of Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue Pearl” of northern Morocco. Nestled within the medina, this lively plaza has long served as the social and cultural hub of the town. Its name recalls the public baths (hammams) that once stood nearby, reflecting its traditional role as a gathering space for locals and visitors alike. The square is surrounded by some of Chefchaouen’s most important landmarks. On one side rises the Kasbah, a 15th-century fortress built by the city’s founder, Moulay Ali Ben Rachid, which today houses a small museum and gardens. Opposite stands the Grand Mosque, with its distinctive octagonal minaret. Lined with cafés, restaurants, and small shops, it is where daily life unfolds. Visitors can enjoy traditional Moroccan dishes, watch children playing, and observe the rhythm of the medina. The square serves as a meeting point for travelers and a stage for local culture. Today, Plaza Uta el-Hammam embodies the charm and identity of Chefchaouen. Its balance of history, architecture, and community life makes it the perfect starting point for exploring the blue-painted streets that wind through the medina. As the heart of the town, the square remains a vibrant symbol of connection between past and present.

Moroccan restaurant
Cafe Clock in Chefchaouen is a hidden gem located on Rue El Kharrazin, just a short walk from the main square of the medina. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring Moroccan and Western dishes, including delicious burgers and vegan-friendly options like vegetable tagine and root vegetable soup. With its cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and reasonable prices, Cafe Clock is highly recommended for both lunch and dinner. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful roof terrace while savoring their meals.
this place is so coooollll!!! highly recommended if you go to Chefchaouen. It might be packed but staffs will manage to help you with the table. People said the best orange juice is found in Chefchaouen and I agree. I tried it at the Clock, and it was so so good. Remember to try the Clock fried chicken, it goes with sweet potato and sweet chilli sauce, this is the best. We ordered the Chefchaouen plate as with, with many items in one, suit with those who wanna try many dishes. The price could be higher than other places, but still makes sense with the quality.

I really like this place and we went there on two occasions. The first just for drinks, and the second for dinner. When we went there for dinner, it was quite busy, and it took over half an hour to get our order. We ordered their signature camel burger and platter. The burger was ok, lacked seasoning, and the meat was a bit dense. Tasted a bit like a homemade burger with store bought minced meat. The platter with zaalouk, sweet potatoes, and briowat was good, especially the sweet potatoes. For dessert we got the Almond Cake, which was a bit dense, I've had better. The atmosphere is very pleasant, with live music. Service was very friendly.

Had a great experience here for lunch. They have multiple floors with seating available. We sat on the terrace which provided beautiful views of the city below. The staff was attentive and checked on us frequently. The mint lemonade was refreshing and so tasty. The fries were cooked well and crispy. The Chaouen platter was beautifully plated. Each dip tasted flavorful and delicious, the sweet potato was so good as well. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Overall everything was better than expected. I'll definitely be back while in Chefchaouen.

If I could rate the service higher, I would. All the servers were so kind to us - especially one whose name I have forgotten. Who was kind enough to always bring us extra dressing, gave us a free drink and brought us a complimentary cheesecake one night. We ate here about 9 times for breakfast and dinner, and in that only had one breakfast that wasn't great. The ambiance of the music and the setting is magical and the guests are often more talkative than other dinner spots. Definitely a favourite in Chefchaouen 😘💙🩵

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place! We did the cooking class and it was one of the top ten experiences I’ve had. You choose your menu (from a large list of choices) that includes a salad, a soup, a main, and a dessert - all traditional Moroccan! Then you take a walk through the souk to shop for all of the ingredients you’ll need. Our chef/tour guide Yassine taught us words for the foods in Darija, he taught us about the history/culture, and we even sampled a few items! Back in the kitchen he walked us through all the recipes; made us a fun traditional smoothie, and we helped cook everything. We ate our HUGE and delicious meal; and boy was it incredible! Yassine and all of the staff members at Cafe Clock went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and appreciated. I would highly, highly, highly recommend making this a stop if you come through the area.

Stopped by Café Clock while exploring Chefchaouen and it was a great experience. The camel burger was tasty and surprisingly tender, and the rooftop terrace has one of the nicest views in town. Staff were warm, service was relaxed but attentive, and the café has a creative, welcoming vibe. Perfect place to take a break after wandering the blue alleys. Definitely worth a stop if you’re curious about trying camel in a comfortable setting.

Fun, touristy spot in Chefchaouen. Food was good - although we ordered the felafel bowls which on the menu says comes with hummus but it was definitely more of an eggplant dip instead. Many in the group got the camel burger which was well received. Live music on the roof and they even let members of our group have a go on the guitar! Fun experience overall

Restaurant Bab Ssour is a charming eatery located in Chefchaouen, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant caters to both meat-eaters and vegans, with options like vegetable tagine, sandwiches, and root vegetable soup. The friendly staff are known for their hospitality and the owner is happy to recommend the best dishes of the day. Guests can enjoy their homemade Moroccan cuisine in a cozy indoor area or opt for rooftop dining with stunning city views.
A peasant meal and evening at Bab Ssour While exploring the distinctive blue streets of Chefchaouen, finding Bab Ssour was a pleasant discovery. From the moment we entered, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The staff were notably friendly. Their welcome felt sincere, contributing to a comfortable sense of hospitality that set a positive tone for the meal. Simple things like the menu in multiple languages added to the experience. Choosing from the menu was made easier by the helpful staff at Bab Ssour. When I mentioned I was unsure what to order, they took the time to discuss the options and offered good recommendations based on my preferences. It was clear they knew their menu well and aimed to ensure guests had a rich experience. The food itself was very good. Following their suggestions, we enjoyed Moroccan flavours. The dishes tasted fresh and seemed carefully prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed Baisara, Lentil soup and the Moroccan mint tea. The goat tagine was tender and well-spiced. We capped the meal with their delicious yoghurt as dessert (caveat: it was very sweet, but we decided are on a holiday). For those seeking good, authentic Moroccan food served by welcoming staff who make you feel comfortable, Bab Ssour is a solid choice. It's certainly a great choice if you're in the area.

This was day #4 in Morocco, so far the best food we’ve had. I ordered lamb tagine and my husband had beef one…wowww. First time, we didn’t have to add salt and pepper to feel the flavors. And the grand finale: the Moroccan yogurt ( black berry jam, dates syrup, and polen) absolutely stunning.

Amazing atmosphere and truly authentic dishes. If you visit, make sure to come on a Friday, the couscous with lamb and vegetables was the best we had during our entire trip around Morocco. We can’t stop telling everyone about this wonderful restaurant

The best local food I’ve had in Morocco. The bean soup is fantastic and the goat in my tagine was falling off the bone (and definitely not microwaved unlike other establishments). Clientele was a mix of locals and tourists but definitely not a touristy restaurant. Very friendly service. Dinner for three of us was less than MAD250 which was a bargain.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely recommended! We had a really cozy evening at Bab Ssour. The atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming — you immediately feel at home. We ordered a mixed starter plate with four different small dishes: pumpkin, zucchini, taktouka, and another vegetable salad. Unfortunately, the mallow leaves weren’t available since they’re out of season, but everything else was super tasty! For the main courses, we tried three different tagines: my girlfriend had the anchovy tagine, I had the Kefta tagine – the grandmother’s recipe (on the chef’s recommendation), and we also shared a chickpea dish. I’m usually vegetarian, but I made an exception for the Kefta — and it was totally worth it! Everything was flavorful, beautifully prepared, and felt very authentic. The chef was incredibly charming and friendly, taking the time to explain the dishes and make us feel welcome. The prices were also great — we paid around 170 dirhams for three mains, one starter plate, and drinks. There’s also a rooftop terrace where you can sit outside, but it was a bit too cold that evening, so we stayed inside. Overall, a wonderful experience — highly recommended!

Restaurant Triana offers a beautiful and cozy atmosphere with stunning views during the day. While it is more expensive than other local places, it focuses on international cuisine, offering Spanish, Mediterranean, and Italian food. The central location provides a marvelous view and great food. The ambiance is fantastic with well-presented and tasty dishes. The restaurant also features live music every night, making it a standout choice in Chefchaouen.
We spent two nights in a row at Triana, and the vibes were absolutely incredible. The singer had amazing energy and talent. The service was top-notch, and Abdulnour, our waiter, was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The food was great, and the lemon tart was truly one of a kind (a bit extra sour, but in a good way).

Oh my word, what an absolute gem of a restaurant. The food was scrumptious, the service was attentive, the restaurant was clean and the toilet not only clean with toilet paper but also free. This has been by far the best meal we've had in Morocco and I suspect it'll be hard to match. I honestly could have sat there all afternoon with a full belly and happy heart. What an oasis. Might be one of the few decent modern restaurants in town . Food is very good and tasty. Environment and entourage very good The view is amazing. Service is slow and you wait long time to be served hence to the food to be served. There was a singer on a guitar who tried his best to sing romantic Italian songs BUT his voice was tooooo low hardly heard although we were next to him.

The highlight of our visit to the blue pearl. Utterly magnificent special beautiful place with impeccable service. Someone must really have some beef with the place to leave all these negative reviews. Absolutely everything we ordered for our group of nine was amazing. Fantastic views. Very thoughtful service. Food amazing. Alcohol is served!!! And pretty nice lineup too :) It is the nicest place in town. The waiters spoke great English and made effort to really understand what we were looking for and make accommodations. Every single one of the appetizers was great. Lamb, veggie plate, pastilla, pasta, burger - the best! Lava cake, cheesecake, local yogurt -amazing. Made our evening. Come here at sunset. Thank you!!

Great location with a fantastic view. The live music was a nice touch in the evening and made for a great overall experience. The food was good - chicken tagine was a better option than the pesto pasta which we tried. They also do drinks/ beers with yummy pina coladas. Pretty much filled with tourists but was a fun time.

We have eaten here several times. We enjoy the Spanish influence on their cuisine. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is delightful. It's a bit pricier than other local restaurants, but the patio view is amazing. Love Triana. Do not recommend takeaway though, the food timing was off so some was cold by the time I got it home. Just eat in - the atmosphere is worth it.

I read the reviews before I came here and noticed that everyone said this is the only place with alcohol in Chefchouen. This is false. This is the closest place to the medina, more than likely where you will stay overnight that serves alcohol. It is a simple bar with 2 floors, and sells all kinds of alcohol. I loved the Spanish beers they were great. I'm not a smoker myself. Tbh don't like the smell but it didn't bother me as much as other people. So take it how you will. People do smoke inside but its not a huge issue, the windows are usually open.

Awesome place for sure. Nice staff. Felt clean and very authentic. Nice beer and wine selection for the region.
Wc N — Google review
I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but our visit to Oum Rabie Restaurant in Chefchaouen was frustrating enough to warrant one. From the moment we sat down, we felt ignored rather than welcomed. We had a very simple order—just beers—but had to ask multiple times before anything arrived. Meanwhile, guests who came after us were served promptly, including their drinks and sides. The waiter, Abdul, completely disregarded us and even pretended like he hadn’t taken our order, though he clearly had. We were planning to leave a generous tip, but after witnessing how we were treated, we understandably changed our minds. To make things worse, the complimentary items that normally come with the beers—like salad or French fries—were only brought out after we asked for them, even though they were supposed to be included from the start. All in all, the service was unprofessional, inattentive, and made us feel like we weren’t valued as guests. Definitely won’t be returning and hope others have a better experience than we did.

The only place in Chefchouan where alcohol is available. Was not expecting the food to be good but the two fish dishes we chose were fresh, cooked perfectly and came with nice vegetable sides. Prices were reasonable. Downside is locals smoke inside and a TV was blaring football.

The only place in the city where you can get alcohol, lovely place for some wine or beer Was presented with a bowl of chips randomly which I have never experienced anywhere In the world very nice little treat after a bottle of wine. Hôtel Parador

Hotel
Hôtel Parador is a charming accommodation with modest rooms, a laid-back restaurant, and an inviting outdoor pool. The hotel's exterior may not match the expected blue color scheme, but inside, the white buildings with blue accents exude a Greek island vibe. While some guests found the room size to be small for a 4-star hotel, recent renovations have enhanced its appeal. However, there were concerns about paint odors and the absence of a fridge in the room.
Nice friendly hotel with a pool very close to markets and eatery. Don't forget to enjoy a restaurant on the rooftop nearby. Markets so many shop's to choose.
Marlene — Google review
This hotel was terrible. I fail to understand how they qualify for a 4 star rating. The rooms are very old and outdated, with no recent improvements. Location was great, the only positive I could find. The staff at reception are sullen, sad, and it seemed a major effort for them to even get off their seats. The waiting staff in the Dining room were too busy making themselves cups of Mint tea and standing near the door to the kitchen chatting with their tea. Extremely unprofessional!! I picked up a dinner plate from the stack to find a squashed silverfish on the plate underneath. So there’s obviously NO quality control. I put the plate on the food table for them to see, and it still hadn’t been moved when I left the Dining room after my meal. We repeatedly had to ask for plates, cutlery, cups, teaspoons, drinks, Hot water, they were never keeping an eye on what was needing to be replaced. The cleaning staff were most polite, and they all smiled and spoke. Reception and wait staff need some training on customer service.
Lisa S — Google review
We just stayed here during a group tour of Morocco and I would highly advise staying somewhere else. As of yesterday the pool is drained, the rooms are dirty, and the breakfast buffet is a mess. The location is near the main square and the showers are at least somewhat spacious but besides that I’m sorry to say that there are hardly any highlights for this hotel.
Haley S — Google review
Dirty rooms, unfriendly front desk staff and the worst breakfast buffet on our tour. They really didn't care about guests as they are one of a few hotels that can handle group bookings. I'd recommend find another hotel.
Linda K — Google review
Absolutely disgusting business. Rude staff. Also, I left something in the room and have been trying to contact them for over a week and, apart from the first email asking to confirm my room number, have been ignored, ignored, hung up on, ignored. All this despite me being exceedingly polite. Do not stay here if you want to be treated like a human being.

No way a four star hotel. Small dirty smelly rooms. Doors and windows that don’t close properly. Basic breakfast with flies everywhere. Not even beautiful views in such a gorgeous village.
Sera C — Google review
Worst hotel. Room doors don’t close properly, lot of noise from streets through out the nights with car noise, dog barking, people partying across from hotel etc. Worst breakfast ever. I am vegan and could not eat anything. They did not have any fruits! I would not recommend any one this hotel to come all the way up walking on the mountain for nothing.

This is a great hotel for its situation, good value for money, and has a parking where they manage to fit all the residents cars (tight! But manageable). It’s not luxury but we slept fine, with the window open late June it was not hot or stuffy at all - the altitude must help. The receptionist was very helpful and professional. Breakfast was fine, bread cheese eggs olives tomato honey and fresh orange juice (but no fruit). The pool is great, very fresh in the morning and nice for sunbathing according to my daughter. They no longer serve alcohol which of course is a pity but not really surprising in Morocco.

We’ve had a month touring Morocco and are tired of taglines and couscous, this restaurant was a breath of fresh air. The dips with our bread were varied and best of all they were spiced. For main we had chicken skewers which were nicely spiced with some lovely vegetables and rice. So much of our food here has lacked spice it was a pleasure to have our taste buds tingled again. Wholly recommend it, 125 Dhms per person for our food and drink.

No wonder this top 5 on most blogs in the Internet. Ambiance is cozy, love the table setup and the friendly staff. It's a shame I didn't ask for the name, but he was so friendly and accommodating. Thumbs up to this place! Again, if you want something fresh, healthy, and home cooked authentic dishes, this is a must try.

We had a great dinner at Lalla Messaouda. It wasn’t very busy, but the food was delicious. We really enjoyed the Lamb and Goat Tagine, as well as the chicken cous cous. The veggie tagine was a little bit plain though. We also were given complimentary bread and dips included which was lovely.

Sensational food and warm service! We had the lamb tagine and the chicken skewers and both were super delicious. They also gave us some complimentary sides that included eggplant, lentils, white beans and a spicy fermented chilli paste. Highly recommend eating here and don’t forget to end your meal with their mint tea and fresh pastries!

Had couscous there in friday it was good but it was missing salt , little bit expensive compared to the portion but the atmosphere and service worth it . Especially the decoration of the place is unique

Sizzling! All the nibbles were satisfying, too. Sitting on a wooden throne was also pretty special. I'd say it was delicious. The chef is Chefchaouen but you've probably heard that one before.

easily the worst meal and experience we had on our 12 day trip. not to belabor things but: -we were seated at a table in the back which could have been nice but was obviously used for staff meals and "table stocking": first he removed a. roll of paper towels and other debris; then throughout our meal the owner would take unused plates off of our table and use the elsewhere. - the food was overcooked and essentially tasteless. even the harissa was bland. - throughout the meal we could hear arguing and yelling in the kitchen. - the relatively high price of the meal is immaterial, as even a free meal would not entice me to return

Beautiful atmosphere, but the food lacked in taste and quality. I had better tagine at the corner stand. The appetizers were not very good either. Usually, the olives are good, and I look forward to them. These tasted off. Even though their menu had a variety of foods, the kitchen did not have it. Very disappointing experience. The only good thing I can say is it was not expensive and the atmosphere was nice.
