Geologic Formations
Elephant Rocks, a natural formation located around 20 minutes from Denmark town, is a popular swimming spot and protected cove. It boasts impressive rock formations that resemble a herd of elephants and offers a stunning beach. The area is perfect for wandering and exploring the little nooks and crannies of the crevasse. The water is clear, making it an ideal location for snorkeling. Visitors are reminded to respect the ocean and keep the area clean by taking their rubbish with them upon leaving.
Absolutely stunning spot! The water is crystal clear with amazing shades of green and blue, and there’s a small hidden beach that’s great for a swim or just relaxing. Easy walk from the car park and not too crowded when we went. A must-visit if you’re in the Denmark or Albany area. Great for photos, picnics, and just soaking in the natural beauty.

We recently visited Elephant Rocks, a breathtaking destination that captivates the senses and leaves a lasting impression. As you approach, the sight of enormous granite boulders, resembling a majestic herd of elephants reaching for the turquoise sea, is nothing short of mesmerizing. The contrast of the vibrant blue water against the rugged boulders creates a stunning backdrop that beckons you to explore further. The atmosphere here is serene, inviting you to simply sit and soak in the beauty around you. We found ourselves wishing for warmer weather, imagining how refreshing a swim would be in those crystal-clear waters. The gentle sound of waves lapping against the rocks adds to the tranquility, making it an ideal spot for reflection or a leisurely picnic. Whether you're hiking along the scenic trails, climbing the boulders for a better view, or just enjoying a moment of peace, Elephant Rocks offers an experience that feels both special and alive. It’s a place where time seems to stand still, urging you to linger just a little longer. If you find yourself in the area, don’t miss the chance to witness this natural wonder—it’s a place that will stay with you long after you leave.

This place is amazing! The rocks literally look like Elephants herded together in the water! It's only a short walk across the rocks to the green pools which was breathtaking! The only negative was the bloody Flies!!! Oh and the wind haha but amazing place, bucket list checked off!

My favourite place to visit when in Denmark. So peaceful and I could look at the views all day!! It has it all....you can swing in the calm, sparkling, clear waters, snorkel, walk or hike along the rocks. I see something new each time I visit!!
J G — Google review
Beautiful rock formation. Beautiful Green pool. Can walk to the beach. Free entrance, free and ample parking. Room for caravans and campervans. Short walks to lookout points. Only problem was the abundance of house flies, swarming all over your face..

Absolutely stunning spot! Can’t wait to come back during summer or on a sunny day. The scenery is breathtaking and perfect for photos or just relaxing by the water. A must-see in Denmark!
Rafaela H — Google review
So do they look like elephants…..well yes they do. Easy walk down to the rocks and the beach area. Look out for lizards on your way so have your camera ready. If the tide is right you can get down to the sand and look around. Plenty of parking and toilets too.

After travelling down WA coast & in awe of the scenery you don’t expect to get another HUGE WIW moment but Elephant Ricks delivered. The plantings in the carpark the coats everything was so natural & user friendly. Absolutely a highlight of “ the Lap”

Denmark Thrills Adventure Park offers an exhilarating experience of rolling down a hill "floating" in water, creating an indescribable feeling of thrill and excitement. Visitors highly recommend trying the duo tracks for the best experience and praise the great hosts who provide a warm and friendly atmosphere. The owners are patient and accommodating, especially with kids, ensuring a memorable time for everyone.
Absolutely fun time! The couple who own and run this are friendly and make it smooth for you, prepare to get wet! But the water is warm! So much fun. Only wish there was a bit more shelter for the colder days when your there! But otherwise had an absolute blast! - follow @escapetheeveryday for videos!

Matt and Amelia were absolutely wonderful …so warm, welcoming, and kind! The ride was an incredible thrill and such a unique experience…we loved every moment of it, and had the best time! Thank you, Matt and Amelia, for the amazing ride and for letting us relax with a cuppa, enjoy the stunning scenery, and share a lovely chat with you both. Totally recommend and an absolute must-do ride! Woohoo!
Daniel W — Google review
We were a little hesitant when booking, however Matt made us more than comfortable with his brief. Amelia was very welcoming for us all. The ride was amazing, we did the short run and could have easily done the longer run. It was amazing and would recommend to anyone, regardless. One of us is mid 60's and wasnt a problem. Go get out there and have a go! Very welcoming owners, thank you.
Les J — Google review
Very friendly kia ora greeting from Amelia and Matt, we hadn’t booked but not a problem and had the experience of our life. And a nice cup of tea when you’re done. Can highly recommend the experience and not to be missed.

Awesome and great fun. Matt and other staffs very accommodating and provided best experience for the day. Definitely come back next time visiting Denmark.

Not sure what was better — watching the kids and my husband have an absolute blast zorbing down the hill, or chatting with the amazing Matt and Amelia, our super warm and welcoming hosts! From offering a change of clothes and hot chocolate to comforting the kids (and even sharing some great life advice!) — they’ve really got it all figured out. They even stayed open an extra hour for us since we were the last ones to arrive, and not once did we feel rushed. Such a gorgeous setting and such wonderful people — definitely an experience our kids will be talking about at school for a while!
Urvi J — Google review
Zorbing was such much fun at this adventure park. The hosts are so caring and excellent with children. They are supportive, and they take their time with you. There are not many hosts like this. On a cold day the water is warm, and we got to have hot Milos. The park is located in a beautiful spot. Thank you so much for a fantastic morning.

Did this with my son and we had the most amazing bonding time! The adrenaline I needed. Matt and Amelia were so friendly, cool and super helpful! Even helped me get my car unstuck. Will be back soon with a bunch more people- this experience was great! Highly recommend🙏

The Lake House Denmark is a charming lakeside restaurant and winery nestled in the magical forest of Denmark, WA. The enthusiastic staff provides excellent service, catering to dietary needs with quick responses. Their refreshing Denmark cider and fabulous wines are not to be missed. The hearty and delicious food includes pumpkin soup infused with Japanese curry and the best beef steak pie. Visitors can also enjoy the cool weather and blooming flowers while savoring local ingredients on a charcuterie board.
Lovely peaceful serene setting. A friend and I booked in for the vineyard lunch platter. We we are seated on the outside patio with a view of the stunning gardens and lake. The platter came with a glass of wine each and included dessert and tea/coffee at the end. The value was fantastic and the food and drink was beautiful. Highly recommend.
Lauren A — Google review
Definitely a must visit if you like wineries. Located at a little lake and in nature the surroundings are stunning. The wines are good (as far as I can tell as I'm not an expert). The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful interior and clean. And if the weather is in favour, sitting at the deck outside makes it a whole new experience.
Casper — Google review
A beautiful place to go for a wine or a platter. Dog friendly. Free wine tasting Staff are very friendly and attentive. My only criticism is that the takeaway wine vs. having wine at the table price was very different. It is the only thing I did not like (takeaway $22, but to have it at the venue, it was $34)
Luisa M — Google review
This must be one of the most picturesque places in Denmark to have lunch. The gardens surrounding the lake are stunning. This is our third visit here, we always love the platters. The platters do seem to have shrunk a little but were nonetheless delicious. The service unfortunately really let the place down. We waited more than 30 mins for our first drink and an hour for our food. The wine itself was lovely, very flavourful. Hoping that the service issue is just a temporary problem.
Viki F — Google review
Beautiful setting, with very good local food and friendly service. Garden is lovingly well maintained. The kids enjoyed playing around the open spaces outside (although no playground). The Shed next door sells quality local products and is worth checking out.

Disappointing Experience We visited Lake House Denmark as a family, drawn by the signage at the gate stating the kitchen closed at 4 PM. With my son hungry, we expected a proper meal, but upon arrival, we were told only coffee and cakes were available. This felt misleading and disappointing. A staff member kindly offered to prepare a cheese board, but it was overpriced for what we received. The wines were average at best, especially compared to nearby wineries like West Cape Howe and Singlefile, which provide far better value and experiences. We were also told that wine tasting would cost $10 per person. This was a major turn-off, especially since we had planned to purchase a couple of cartons but decided against it after feeling unwelcome. It was even more surprising to see other posts mentioning free wine tastings, leaving us with the unsettling impression that we might have been profiled based on our appearance. While the setting is undeniably beautiful, the overall experience was disappointing and failed to meet expectations.
Ericsson V — Google review
As far as picturesque goes, this place has got to be one of the top contenders in Denmark. It's like something right out a postcard. The lush green lawn, the beautiful lakeside cottage and the curious pair of ducks seemed to fit in nicely in this picture perfect place. This is even more so in a bright, sunny and cloudless day. The sunshine seemed to illuminate and bathe everything in vivid colours. We enjoyed meandering around the land and soaking up the peaceful vibes. Alas, we did not dine here as we had made reservations for lunch elsewhere. The spot is relatively easy to find despite driving through some dirt road and is well landscaped and clean and looks like a perfect place to hold any outdoors reception! There are also ample parking spaces.
Gevs — Google review
Gorgeous restaurant with beautiful scenary. Not a huge variety of food, mainly tasting plates (available for 1-3 people) or pies. Tried to lamb pie and chicken pie, mainly more crust than filling and crust was on the thicker end. Soup of the day (tomato) was delicious. Tasting plate was tasty and colorful! However price wise, it was quite expensive. Plenty of parking, staff were very accommodating and friendly!

The cellar door experience is top-notch. No standing at the bar waiting to be served.... a proper sit-down tasting experience - and it is complimentary! The wines though..... oh their wines are so lush... we especially love the Malbec and Shiraz. We had their Clement V variant at a restaurant and really enjoyed that one also.

I dropped in here on my way home to Melbourne from Perth, and did the Sense of Place tour and tasting. What a great experience. Sage our hostess was delightful so knowledgeable on wine and winemaking. The property is stunning and the wines top shelf. The wines we had sent home arrived with beautiful packaging and presentation. I won’t say more as it could spoil the surprises packed in. A wonderful winery that shows its care and attention to details. I look forward to my next visit. Thanks.

Simply the best!!! Tracy led us on the Sense Of Place tour, which delved into the background of Single File wines and their philosophy, accompanied of course by some of their most magnificent wines. This is a world class experience that is perfect for those who are keen wine explorers or those celebrating a special occasion. Well done all at SFW but especially Tracy. Love your work🥰

On a rainy cold afternoon we sought shelter at this beautiful classy winery and sat by the fire in a cosy lounge area to try your wines. We had a great personalised experience with a lovely female host ( originally from USA - unfortunately we forgot her name 🤦‍♂️) who took us through your great whites and reds 🍷. Really enjoyed the Malbec and Shiraz (purchased and beautifully packaged ) and had a delicious 🧀 cheese platter . Good prices and no tasting fee 😱! Thanks for the wonderful memories of your winery and of the Denmark area 👍

Great winery in Denmark WA. Visited several wineries in the Margaret river and south Australia region in Oct 2025 and this one turned out to be our favorite. Beautiful tasting room, excellent service, our sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and their wine is amazing. You have to try their reserve Chardonnay. Rates No. 1 in Australia and it is quite good. At A$ 63/bottle, the quality rivals the A$150+ bottles.

Wow what an experience. Tracey gave us the most in-depth wine tasting adventure, including a terrific introduction to the Singlefile wines. The ambiance and aesthetic design certainly makes this place a standout and not to be missed when exploring the Denmark region.🌹ps their rose garden was amazing.

We recently stayed at Ducketts Mill winery and it was absolutely beautiful! We all remarked everyday how much we loved it there. It feels really peaceful whilst being able to get a lovely coffee in the morning or the best part a phenomenal cheeseboard delivered to your caravan! We had multiple cheeseboards they were honestly that good. Pair it with a bottle of their wine and you are in heaven. Highly recommend their Chardonnay it was so yum. The owners and staff are so lovely and made us feel very welcome. They have lovely dogs who were so friendly and great with our golden retriever Frank as were the staff. Thank you so much for having us we will definitely be back 🫶🏼

Beautiful winery with amazing service from all staff! Celebrated my friends birthday here & camped overnight on the vineyard. They were so accommodating and helped made the birthday special. Not the mention the wine & platter boards were unreal!

My wife and I had a lovely time with our wine a cheese share platter. Perfectly paired. I’ve never been a wine drinker, but the 2023 SSB has become a new favourite. My children loved the sausage rolls and my daughter loved the home made tomato sauce. We were given a small container to take back home. Thank you x We will absolutely be back.

We ordered the cheese platter for two people (25 AUD) and we really enjoyed it 🧀🍎 Gouda, camembert, brie, feta, blue... with slices of apple, 1 strawberry, melon, 1 cherry :) The place was very nice with tables outside ☀️

This was our second visit here and both times has been great. All the animals are gorgeous and well cared for and the grounds are clean and tidy. The young lady at the front desk was very welcoming and chatty which was lovely. I loved being able to hold the joey and pet the kangaroos, alpacas, goats, sheep and mini cows. My kids especially loved the Guinea pigs and rabbits despite them being a bit timid. We will definitely be back again next time!
Alisha B — Google review
Denmark Animal Farm & Pentland Alpaca Stud is hands down one of the best farm experiences I’ve ever had! From the moment we arrived, it was pure joy !! baby Highland cows (yes, you can actually go into the pen for cuddles!), wallabies, camels, fluffy chickens, and even guinea pigs you can sit with. Every corner of the farm has something exciting and interactive, and the animals are so well cared for and friendly. The highlight for me was being able to get up close with the baby cows and feed so many of the animals, it felt so special and memorable. The farm shop is also worth a visit, full of beautiful alpaca products that make the perfect keepsake or gift. If you’re in Denmark or passing through, this place is an absolute must-stop. Fun, interactive, and heartwarming !! I’d give it a 10/10 without hesitation!

My autistic daughter is very particular about her animal farm experiences as she hates to see them unhappy/badly handled/stressed by crowds. She LOVED this place so that’s saying something! We had a great time, especially loved the highland coos :)

Great spot, only a relatively small place, but the animals here are some of the most gentle animals I have ever hand fed and are all happy and healthy. Highly recommend trying to get here at around 3pm to assist with the bottle feeding of the baby animals. My wife absolutely enjoyed it.

You can actually go into pens and Pat or feed the animals. A beautiful up close experience like no where else.

Awesome little farm, the animals interacted with the kids taking the food from them, the animals put on a good show for us with the baby goats playing with the highland cows.

Castelli Estate is a renowned winery in Denmark, offering an excellent variety of wines. Visitors praise the Empirica Uvaggio 2017 and enjoy the delicious food, including authentic Italian dishes and homemade pastas. The hospitality provided by Giovanni is highly appreciated, with guests commending his professionalism and knowledge. The wine tastings are described as outstanding, with friendly and knowledgeable staff providing a fantastic experience.
We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The wine , food , hospitality and garden setting was top class. Host Giovanni was very professional and knowledgeable. The food is authentic Italian and all home made. Castelli wines are excellent and the tastings are generous with a great commentary from Giovanni. We will return

From start to finish, we have had nothing but a fantastic experience. The food is phenomenal! Generously dished up and I love the menu, very authentic and well put together. Not a huge selection - which is great from not becoming overwhelmed for choices but enough to have something different. Wine was beautiful with something for everyone. We had a very magical dining experience, Chloe and her male colleague ( I'm sorry we missed your name!) Were very professional, friendly and attentive despite them being the only 2 waitstaff. Thankyou for making this night magical. We will be back to our new favourite place in Denmark soon.

Spent the last 2 nights of our holiday here at this little gem. Had the best experience with Giovanni & his wife there, they made us feel so welcomed. The wine, the tapas food is delicious 😋 The room was so cosy & clean with an amazing view of the vineyard, it took us back to Italy. Highly recommend this place.

Rude staff, close when they like despite opening hours being online. Closed a whole 1 hour and 30 minutes before stated time, no apology and wouldn’t let us in despite there still being tables inside with wine (we were only after a quick glass). No one was very friendly or offered alternative. Very frustrating after travelling quite a number of hours to get there!! Luckily there’s a place called The Lakehouse just around the corner, where you’re greeted with a much nicer welcome. Nicely busy, great atmosphere, lovely setting overlooking the lake and great wine - go there instead!

This review comes a little late however better late than never. We visited here in March just before the boarders in WA closed. We stayed for a few nights while we did some sight seeing. The room was great, very fresh and clean. The food was amazing, not to mention the wine! The service was faultless. And such a beautiful setting. Loved every minute of this stay and will certainly go back one day. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time wine tasting at Castelli estate. Andrea was very friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. He’s customer service was by far one of the best in Denmark. The wines were refreshing and tasty. We will definitely be back next year.

Second stay here. Was excellent the first time we visited here over 1 year ago and thankfully same chef and staff. Food did not miss the mark. Rooms were not exactly spacious but beds are comfortable and you do get a good night's sleep. Showers are compact but give an otherwise good clean. Amenities provided are basic. Food however was fantastic! Service was punctual and the same lady that served us last year served us this year. Dinner had the Garlic Prawns and wife had the pork lollipops which were amazing. Main I had the Angus with prawn and wife had the ribs. Both outstanding. Breakfast the next morning I had the fetta with double smoked back on sourdough. Brilliant. Given the average meal quality in Albany this is a hidden gem of a place and cheap too. 1 nights accommodation for 2 adults, 1 child plus dinner, wine water and breakfast for $430! 4/5

Pepper & Salt Restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with impeccable service and a stunning setting. The restaurant boasts panoramic views and a welcoming atmosphere. The highlight, however, is the unique blend of Indian Fijian flavors that create an unforgettable culinary journey for the taste buds. Despite initial hesitations about flavor combinations, guests are pleasantly surprised by how well the dishes come together. The attentive staff further enhance the experience, ensuring that every visit is memorable.
Delicious food & fantastic views with great wine! What a great lunch. The food was spot on, when you get one scallop you want it to be perfect, which it was. The eye fillet was perfectly cooked and the jus amazing. We asked the chef about it & he took the time to explain how it was made. It takes 5 days to make! The Spanish Mackerel was very well cooked and the cheese board had great cheeses with figs and chutneys. The crackers/poppadums slightly overpowered the cheese so I ate them separately. Forest Hill wine went brilliantly with the food.
Viki F — Google review
We had no expectations of finding a table because everything was booked, but we went to a wine tasting at the vineyard anyway. It is connected to the restaurant and we were lucky to find a table available. The menu was interesting. I don't know if it's like that, but I got a hint of Indian cuisine.I don't know how often they change the menu, but two courses were 80 and three courses were $90. Thanks to the waiters and waitresses

This restaurant which is attached to Forest Hill Wines is nothing short of outstanding. A small but well thought out menu and executed extremely well. The Chargrilled Octopus was great as was the Lamb Backstrap as entrees. We both chose the Beef Eye Fillet. For desert we chose the Panacotta and Chocolate Namelaka. It was amazing food and the service was excellent. The views from the restaurant was great and added to the atmosphere. Very highly recommended.

Food is exceptional! The chef is very innovative, able to craft such complex ingredients into unique and well-rounded flavorful dishes. We loved the scallop, goat pie, and Maryland chicken.
Natnicha B — Google review
Their food was amazing, look at the photos. But i couldn’t take photos of the view because i was sat right outside of the kitchen door where no one sits behind me. It’s a little restaurant of square shape that has got nice tall trees view outside of the three sided window. I am giving this place only one star because I felt I was racially discriminated as I was the only asian person and was sat at the furthest table from the window seats even though it was all empty when I arrived. Perhaps they were reserved, but I booked myself in a few weeks in advance too and two window seats were empty. I was looking forward to experiencing this place for so long as I don’t come to Albany too often at all. I am reluctant to leave one star review in general because it would only hurt my feelings but I am leaving this review as I still think they are not good enough. I received an email(automated I guess) from this place to review how they went and I replied how I felt as above, however, there was no reply at all. They don’t care obviously. All the best to you guys, some room to improve, this is all I can do leaving a little negative review in google after 3month of my experience.

If you like well crafted dining, Salt and Pepper is the only place in Denmark. Silas has been masterfully creating an ever changing menu I'm a local and recently had reason to revist for lunch. It's what I miss about restaurants, hand created food. The spices are so well balanced that you can still taste the marron and chicken meat. And then there's Max's goat pie entree. He has put his knowledge of spices into practice perfectly. I could swim through it. All in all not cheap, but treat yourself to excessively memorable experiences. I guarantee you'll be happy you did.

We were treated to the most amazing experience with Chef Silas. His knowledge and ability in the kitchen was on full show as we enjoyed the insights from his masterclass topped off with an outstanding 4 course lunch plus pairings - highly recommend this experience or even just a quick lunch!

Chef Silas. The myth, the man, the legend. The most exciting thing to happen in South West cuisine in decades. Your menu, your service, your view. An absolutely outstanding dining experience. It is a miraculous achievement one should be most proud of to execute what you do there. Your personal touch, combining your life into a plate to showcase our amazing capabilities as an international region. The service, simply put is impeccable. The Moreton Bay Bug in laksa was a strike of genius. The prawn toast, in layman terms (elite). What your team does with your venue for a romantic wedding is sensational. Thank you for raising the level of our local cuisine and infusing your soul into your work. We are proud to have you. P.S let’s get the Marron back on the table. Yours sincerely, until we meet again.

The Dam in Denmark is a hidden treasure with stunning surroundings and a friendly manager named Sam. The restaurant offers beautifully crafted drinks and delicious meals, including fried calamari, Thai spiced marrons, and crumbed chicken. The spacious interior and ample patio space provide a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the scenic views of green hills, a pond, and numerous trees. Additionally, visitors can explore the Canabis Botanicals Distillery on the grounds for an interesting experience.
What a great find! Delicious food, great drinks, the view was amazing and the service was excellent. We would have sat outside overlooking the dam but there wasn’t a lot of shade so we ate inside instead. The Cannabis Botanical Distillery infused drinks were lovely and they had a little shop with attached where you could do tastings. We will be back when we come down here again.

This is a fantastic place to visit, we went for dinner one night and had steak and arancini to share. They were delicious, well seasoned and balanced flavours. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife. We didn't have any room for dessert so we popped back the next day for dessert and a few more cocktails. I wish we lived closer so I could come back here

Huge n beautiful place. Classy. Visited in last week of September 2025. Indoor n outdoor sittings. Small play area. Scenic views. Had pasta, fries, and quesadilla. A bit dry to our liking. On-season, so very busy but the staff were professional n smiley. Worth going.

Lovely ambience in the early evening - soft lighting with a view over trees and the dam, which we enjoyed from a cosy booth. Very pleasant indeed. There was a large range of drinks including good non-alcoholic options and food was tasty. We had arancini, followed by the pumpkin main, char-grilled octopus and the waygu burger, with pannacotta, and honeycomb ice cream to finish. The octopus was delicious! It’s a large venue so I imagine during the day, it could get quite busy. In the evening, it was charming and delightful with attentive service. We had booked in advance after seeing positive reviews and were so glad we came. Definitely visit.

Absolutely gorgeous venue and views. Lovely service! And a Cute kids playground. So nice to have some real hearty food and vegetables after lots of pub visits on this road trip. Highly recommend! The handsome bald man was a highlight.

We visited for a quick drink and a play break for our kids. What an amazing spot! We wish we had stumbled upon it sooner on our travels so we could have visited for a meal. Our cocktails were delicious and the service was fantastic. The view is gorgeous and the playground fabulous. Hopefully we can return one day.

A beautiful place to visit just outside of Denmark. The venue, the atmosphere, staff, service, food and drinks are really good, I came here twice. Had a tasting paddle and the arancini balls the first time, delicious and the Sativa herb and vine cocktail and pan fried truffle gnocchi with burnt butter and artichoke my second visit, equally delicious. As they advertise “Dam Good”

We are frequent visitors and every visit is always satisfying and amazing. Great food, cheeseburger is top quality, full of flavour cooked beautifully. We had the marron linguine which comes with a glass of chardy. Fresh, flavourful, al Dante linguine with a cold glass of good quality chardy. Left the place with a carton of their sugar-free ginger beer as always and a bottle of their newly available whisky, 3 years old in PX cask.

Nestled just a short drive from Upland Farm luxury accommodation in Denmark, WA, is the charming Mrs Jones Cafe. Housed in the old Butter factory, this popular spot offers a diverse menu and friendly service. Visitors can indulge in an insane breakfast menu while taking in the historical ambiance of the cafe. The female-run establishment boasts an aromatic sensory seating experience and has garnered praise for its delicious food and cakes.
Absolutely loved our visit to Mrs Jones! The place looks amazing — special mention to Justine and Sam for doing such a great job with the renovations, everything feels so fresh and welcoming. The chai latte and cold matcha drink were both delicious, and the food was just as impressive. Big thanks to all the staff for their warm and friendly service. Can’t wait to come back!

This charming cafe was our first stop for brunch before heading over to the beach. I love the garden setting especially the vegetable garden right outside. The interior is huge and there are plenty of large tables - perfect for a family meal! I also like the abundance of natural light coming in from the large windows and the roof. The food was delicious (I expected no less) and served after a short wait. The portion was not as big as I feared and everyone easily polished off their respective plates. I had the hot chocolate and it was pretty good as well. The whole establishment exudes a charming vibe and it is certainly a fun way to spend time with your family whilst enjoying the good food.

Edit: Came back for breakfast. Lovely place to sit, such friendly service. The eggs benny sauce was too lemony and bread too hard to eat but presented lovely. The wonderful girls working there are so friendly. Coffee good. Very cute place! Service was wonderful and coffee was awesome.

Loved every bit of this place . Came here early for breakfast being afraid of crowds. Walk in service in weekends. A huge place with plenty of seating choices. Lovely food , we all loved the dishes ordered. Tasty and well proportioned. Given the quality of the food , taste and the overall ambiance of the cafe . We will be back again if we visit Denmark next time !

The menu has changed when they reopened yesterday apparently, and we had to walk out, there was nothing on the menu that contains a protein other than lamb or pork and GF. No fish or seafood, and the only chicken option is a budget with no GF option... It's fine if all you want to eat is veggies with no protein the meal...

We arrived at Mrs Jones a bit hangry after traipsing around what felt like every cafe in Denmark trying to find a table (at almost 11am during the school holidays!) We were told a 45 minute wait for food, which we accepted and it was definitely worth the wait. Some of the best breakfast/brunch food we’ve had in a while. Other pluses: lots of staff and clearly a very slick operation, it was busy but food and drinks were constantly coming out and tables cleared quickly. We also loved the toys dotted around, it helped keep our toddler entertained. Although busy, the vibe was relaxed, which helped tame the hanger!

Our first visit to Rockcliffe Winery. And what a find. Not only are the wines excellent but Steve is so interesting to chat to. I could have stayed and chatted all day. Every wine we tasted, and we tasted a few, were excellent. We walked away with three bottles and it could have been a lot more. The pizzas start at 1pm and with hindsight we should have stayed for one. We didn't realise we would be there quite so long. You are doing a great job, Steve. Keep on keeping on.

A different tasting experience. We went here off-season and the Owner hosted out tasting. He shared some interesting insides. We enjoyed some of their wines especially the Semillon. Friends loved the sparkling Shiraz. Unfortunately it was Pizza time but I heard it's excellent.

Visiting Rockcliffe Winery in Scotsdale near Denmark was like stumbling upon a hidden gem, and what a delightful experience it turned out to be! As I stepped through the door, the warm welcome from the friendly staff set the tone for a lovely afternoon, especially on a sweltering 36-degree day. The cool, inviting bar area was a breath of fresh air, making it all too easy to settle in and soak up the atmosphere. The food menu was well laid out, but in the spirit of honesty, I have to own up to my cravings for a cool beer and a delicious pizza. While plenty of patrons were indulging in wine tastings—most of them looked rather pleased with their choices—I opted for the wise route of sticking to beer since I was the designated driver. The Rockcliffe's selection of local Southwest brews, particularly from Artisan Brewing, was impressive. I especially enjoyed the unfiltered Pilsner, which I later discovered is quite the rarity back in Perth. Now, I mustn't overlook the dessert offerings. On that scorching day, both my partner and I were compelled to try their gelato, and let me tell you, it was absolutely phenomenal! The smooth texture and rich flavours were just the ticket to cool us down, and we relished every mouthful. Rockcliffe Winery also provided ample seating options both inside and outside, giving guests a chance to choose their preferred spot based on the weather. The car park was generous as well, making access convenient for all visitors. Reflecting on our visit, it's clear that Rockcliffe Winery will be high on our list for our next jaunt to the Denmark/Albany region. I can already envision the wines making it onto our tasting menu as we indulge in the local offerings again. In short, if you're in the area and seeking a delightful experience, look no further than Rockcliffe—believe me, you won’t regret it!

Rockcliffe Winery, Denmark WA One of my favourite stops in Denmark. Every time I visited and had dinner there with a band over one summer and always left with a box of 12 bottles to take home (yes, that good). Rockcliffe is a special place. Just 4 km from town, it feels tucked away in peaceful countryside with vineyards stretching out behind the cellar door. The winery itself has a relaxed vibe, the tasting room overlooks the vines, and there’s a genuine warmth in the hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. The wines here speak of their place, cool-climate character, bright fruit, balanced structure. Their Single Site and Third Reef ranges shine, each sip carries subtle nuances from the granite soils and ocean breezes. During our dinner, every bottle we opened was met with smiles and friends asked where we got them, so naturally I came home with a dozen. But it’s not just about the wine. Rockcliffe offers wood-fired pizzas, platters, and house-made gelato and fudge. On that evening, the food paired beautifully with the wines, adding richness to the experience without overpowering the flavours and the owner, Steve Hall, a former geologist turned winemaker is part of what makes Rockcliffe feel alive. He’s passionate, full of stories about soil, granite cliffs, vines, and place. You sense that the land and wine are intertwined in every bottle. Rockcliffe Winery is one of those places where you return not just for the wine, but for the feeling of connection, of calm, of being well taken care of. For me, it’s now a must-visit whenever I’m in the Great Southern, and I can’t wait to go back for more. Thank you for so many cartons and more

We stayed one night at this beautiful place and tasted an incredible variety of their wines. We didn’t go home with our usual suspects (Shiraz and Cab Sav), but with a Malbec and Mourvrede. The pizza was absolutely incredible and our mind got blown when we had the home made gelato as a dessert. If you are in the region, stay here. If not, make a fricking de-tour 😃
Christiane M — Google review
This place is awesome. The wines were great, a huge tasting list, the staff were super friendly and the owner himself is often serving in the cellar door. They also have delicious pizzas, gelato, fudge and local beers on tap. A beautiful lawn and a patio mean you can enjoy your wine and pizza in the sunshine next to the vines. Bliss. We stayed a few nights camping next to the vines, and we’ll be back again for sure.

Fantastic winery. Steve is an absolute legend and I would recommend his tour to anyone. How lucky that we got to camp in this beautiful location next to the winery. Every single wine we tried was better than the next and I can’t wait to come back. We have traveled around Australia for a year a half and this was one of our favorite days on the road. 10/10

Stunning winery a short drive outside of Denmark. We were greeted by Steve and had the opportunity to taste most all wines on the tasting menu. It was great to learn about the grapes of the region and have a few laughs along the way. There was plenty of gelato and fudge to be tried as well. Highly recommend visiting!

Classic Denmark: interactive, entertaining and environmentally positive. If you bring the kids, bring snacks! You’ll be here a long time. So many little nooks to get interested in, multiple trees to climb, no fences, lots of grass around the edges to chase them down on when they make a break for freedom. And lots of other people doing family stuff just as well as you. Highly repeatable visits.

Great park with a large sand playground with shade. There is a public toilet for male and female which are reasonable clean. There is plenty of parking but only has one large gazebo. The Denmark Visitor Centre is a must-visit spot for anyone exploring the charming town of Denmark. While much travel research can be done online, this local gem offers invaluable insights that you might not find elsewhere. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by friendly staff eager to assist with your inquiries and provide recommendations tailored to your needs. The centre features an impressive display board detailing dining options in the area, including restaurants, cafes, and wineries—complete with opening hours and meal offerings.
Overheard the friendly staff telling someone else about Ocean Beach, so we drive down there for a look and for a couple of hours taking photos of birds on the estuary and the bird reserve. A beautiful beach and the pleasant surprise of seeing birds wee haven't seen before - thanks to the photo information boards on the island you cross onto to get to the beach. The river mouth is closed so you can walk all the way across.

Be aware of parking and stopping in the town and out skirts. The Rangers love just writing infringement notices without even approaching a person to see if there is a reason for us stopping in a parking bay which I believe I was legal but rather just write out the notice and then posting it to you. I watched it whilst having coffee in our vehicle. I thought it was very strange. He drove in front of the vehicle, took a photo of the rego and vehicle and then just drove off. When appealing it, they didn't even bother but just stated that the fine stands. One big revenue raising, its all about the money. Where is this world going. In other shires Rangers have been so friendly and helpful but this town not so. Sorry won't be going back.

Nice little walk that can be extended. The walk to Monkey Rock itself is relatively easy and short, about 2km, climb the rock and enjoy the view. There's also an option to continue the track in the same direction mostly going up hill, and when reaching the junction turn left to Mt Hallowell for a much higher view point.

Lovely little bush walk up here today! It took us about 25mins to get up onto the rock from the carpark. A little steep and tricky to get up the top with a 6 year old but she got there. Very windy at top as expected but was worth it for the extravagant view.
Jade R — Google review
Fantastic views of the coast line. Well worth a walk to the top. We walked up the fire track next to the path. As the path was a bit overgrown.
Simon C — Google review
Take the big dirt road up to the rocks and ignore the others unless you want to walk the overgrown path to the right of it. It has a small parking area and the walk was less than 40 minutes long for us to reach the rocks. It was 100% worth it for the views (great photo opportunities too).
Laura K — Google review
A naturally occurring rock hill formation. A choice of two easy to steep bush tracks, leading up to great views of the surrounds at the top. We took the easier, wider track (on the left, from the car park)
Jim S — Google review
Decent little walk up to the rocks. Very quick, easy, and chilled. Nice steps to help you get around the steeper parts of the rocks. Pretty views of the forest and the beaches. A good spot to stop on a road trip but wouldn’t go out of my way to check it out.
Taia H — Google review
There are 2 trails up to the rock: a wider one on the left and the Bibbulmun about 5m to the right. The Bibbulmun is narrower but pretty. The walk is shaded most of the way up, which suits warm or drizzly weather! It is about 900m to monkey rock and took us 20 mins to get to the top where we enjoyed a fantastic view! Worth it for sure! 🤩 When you get to the top of the hill but haven't yet climbed the rock, keep walking until it curves a bit to the right and you will find some stairs which is an easier way up. There is a little carpark at the start of the trail and plenty of parking space along the road. There are no toilets 🚻
Emily K — Google review
Great views of Ocean Beach and West towards Greens Pool. The car park at the bottom is gravel and can get full during busy periods. The walk from the car park is uphill and a reasonable climb and wouldn't recommend it for those with very limited hiking experience, but anyone with average fitness should be able to complete this. Allow 90mins - 2hrs to walk and spend a bit of time on the rock. The path starts to the right-hand side of the fire trail that leads uphill (or walk the fire trail). The path is narrow but is well compact, with rock steps and logs along the way. There is a boot quarantine station to protect the area from dieback, halfway up the trail. On the rock, it is very steep in parts, and caution accessing and walking around is needed not to fall, and at the top, enjoy the amazing views!

Respect the spot 🫶 Beautiful serene little bay, the waterfall seems fresh water Mother nature you never cease to amaze 💯
Michelle K — Google review
I must say that the waterfall is the main attraction here. It was not a large nor a tall waterfall, but somehow, it was just nice and located right by the beach. When we stepped onto the sand, we immediately split up to hunt for the waterfall, and I found it easily enough! It's to your left as you step down to the beach if younarenfacing the ocean. It was nice to walk on the bed and follow the water as it flowed and joined the ocean. The waterfall was somewhat shaded from the sun by the time we got there, so it was a cool place to hang out. That being said, the water felt like it was as cold as the water in the sea. The pool wasn't big enough for dipping, but it was good to put your feet in. The beach was very clean and lots of dried seaweed there. The sand was so fine and white. I love the beaches in Australia!

The store features an excellent range of fresh local products, including juicy oysters and perfectly sliced meats displayed in an extravagant manner. Visitors can also enjoy hot drinks from the Hole in the Wall cafe and take a stroll around town. The friendly and helpful staff contribute to making it one of the best supermarkets, providing a welcoming atmosphere for both locals and visitors alike.
The fresh produce here was great and the service was fast and friendly. They have a number of ready made meals to grab and go but highly recommend you bring your own bread on school holidays / long weekends. There was so many people in town this week the IGA ran out of bread.

Well laid out store. Ready made meals at the front. Deli staff welcoming. Prices are consistent for regional Western Australia, but only slightly. Only slightly dearer than Spudsheds on the same exact products. Eggs were under $6 a dozen though

Has most of what you need. Bit more expensive to the bigger supermarkets. Understand when it's a smaller town. But what is it that it has to be so cold in there. Not very pleasant trying to shop in winter when the store is cold.

Purchased a Mt Barker cooked chicken. Tasted bad and couldn't risk eating. Returned it next day and took a replacement. Got home and it was like eating wood chips so was discarded again. Fed to dog. Rang and reported it and the response was. I'll tell the manager. No offer of refund after 20 kilometers of driving and spending nearly $200 there. Cannot recommend the cooked chickens. Very disappointed

Restaurant
I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed my stay at the Denmark Hotel. The rooms were basic but immaculate, and the hotel itself exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food offered at the restaurant was far from your typical pub fare, with a wide range of options spanning from delectable steaks to flavorful curries. One highlight of my stay was taking part in the river bridge to bridge walk, which showcased stunning views right outside the hotel's doorstep.
Love having dinners at the hotel, I’ve been several times now and the service is always top notch and the food really good! Last night my dinner was perfect, the wings were plump and spicy, and my fish was perfect. My friend’s chicken snitzel was super generous, and seasoned perfectly. Plus the view over the river is just epic. Staff always friendly and helpful. Recommend !!

Well had dinner tonight at the Denmark Hotel. Not impressed. Pub style food it is not. Tasted good but entree size for a main meal, so not value for money. Order the pork belly lovely cooked had 5 pieces and 2 leaves of buk choy. That was it. Menu is extremely limited and waited over an hour for our food, the guy who took our orders said the wait was half an hour as a big table ordered. They got their meals and left before ours even came out. Used to be very good meals at the pub, not now days. We are ex-locals.

Great location & nice decor Room matched description- newly modern renovated , very clean , very comfortable. Discount on drinks & food if a guest. Bottle shop on premises. Was a Monday night & we stayed after having down the valley giants tree top walk. I enjoyed my dinner - good chicken Parmigiana- nice & large. Fire places & pool table which can play free of charge. I can’t fault the service - the staff were very warm & extremely helpful. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel

You can’t go past great service, all the staff were amazing! We spent 2 night, but weren’t lucky enough to win the Pic-a-box on Friday night but were entertained by the solo performer on his guitar. The chef scored a 💯 for the perfectly cooked steak. They were having a few issues with the tv reception in the rooms, but other than that The Lodge was comfortable accommodation. I would stay again, for it’s perfect location.
Trish W — Google review
We stayed for three nights on a recent trip from NSW. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the staff were excellent. The location is great, right on the river and close to good cafés and the main street. The restaurant was the disappointment. Portions were tiny and the food was plain. My wife ordered the special, a pie, which arrived like a bakery pie on a plate with a few chips, no salad. My daughter’s gnocchi was eight pieces. My curry was entrée size with barely any rice to soak up the sauce. None of the meals came with sides or accompaniments. We told the waitress the serves were very small. She agreed and said she was aware. Her service was great, the issue is the food and value. After reading other reviews, this seems to be a recurring theme, which is disappointing that management have not addressed it. For the cost of an extra spoon of rice, we chose to eat elsewhere for the next two lunches and dinners. My advice is to enjoy the accommodation, and give the restaurant a miss. Support one of the many good local eateries in Denmark. A nice place with good staff, let down by stingy serves and overpriced food.

Omg the food is amazing and the service was incredible When so many pubs today serve PFD factory box foods this was all cooked with love and tasted fantastic. We are travelling Australia and this has been our best pub so far, and were from Sydney. We had the beef short rib and the pumpkin Tofu curry with the vietnamese salad. Well done to the owners and the chef and cooks!!! Knocked it out of the Park!!!

Fantastic service today 25 Oct 25. We had the wagyu burgers with chips, some champers and a decent red which were all delicious!!! The staff were a standout! Attentive and know their stuff! Def worth a visit 😎

Just ordered take away from the pub and ordered a chicken parmi. Was definitely not impressed when arrived home to find out they had cut my parmi in half to fit it into a box my nephew couldn’t fit his hand in. Honestly so disappointed definitely did not get what we paid for, more like half. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Hamburger restaurant
Den Burger is a popular burger joint in Denmark, known for serving some of the best burgers in the area. The menu may not be extensive, but every item on it is delicious. Customers rave about the succulent meat and perfectly balanced buns. The generous portions, including large chips, make it worth a visit. Families love the place as kids get to enjoy cookies with their meals. The seating capacity both inside and outside is limited, so many customers prefer takeout orders.
Had the cheeseburger, and it was absolutely delicious! You can really taste the carefully chosen ingredients. The flavours are perfectly balanced, and unlike some burgers, I didn’t feel overly full after eating. It’s satisfying without being heavy. Definitely a must-try if you're in Denmark! I can’t recommend it enough – a burger done properly!
Steffie M — Google review
Best burgers in Denmark in our collective opinion! I had the shark burger and it is delicious. The meat was succulent and the bun was just right. The menu isn't extensive but it seems that every item on it was yummy. The kids also got a cookie each and they love them! There is seating capacity on the outside of the shop. The inside seats are limited but when we were there, it seems most of their customers just popped in and order take outs. We learnt that they used to have hot dogs but when we were there, these were no longer on their menu. The lady who processed our orders were cheerful and bubbly.

Read a review that slammed Denburger. Loved the response by the owner, so I added Denburger to our trip from Winnipeg (home of the Jets!) Canada to Western Australia. Some 16, 765 kilometres later, pleased to report that the Ocean Burger & Cheeseburger were worth the trip. The shark fillet was cooked to perfection, the lemon aioli slightly tangy in support of the fish. The bun held together; the other veggies as toppings were fresh. There's a good weight to this meal. My wife's Cheeseburger received a rave review: "best burger in a long time; patty was seasoned, great flavour." The side of onion rings were crisp, hot & tasty. Loved the idea of outdoor seating with fireplace but these two seniors decided on takeaway. Highly recommend Denburger.
David N — Google review
Went there with my fussy 2 boys and fussier wife and had an enlightening food experience. The beef burgers were 'absolutely delish' were the words from my family. My chicken burger was fantastic. The onion rings were the best I have ever had, thin crispy batter and not greasy. And the chips ...OMG. I could taste the potatoes.... crispy outside and soft and buttery inside. Again not greasy. Wish we had found this place earlier in our short stay in Denmark. Hopefully, this place is still there when we return in a few years.. Sorry no photos!

Hooley dooley are these burgers good! So good in fact, my partner was drooling on herself over them. We ordered during the dinner rush, but thankfully, they had a fire going to keep warm by whilst we waited. Definitely worthwhile.
Jordan P — Google review
Me and my partner came here on a rainy night and the place there was comfortable and cosy.. We ordered a chicken burger and beef burger and for me, that beef burger was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had (not greasy, oily or uncooked) it was just perfect, fresh and wow they were very generous with the amount of sauce you get with your chips. It was just enough chips for both of us to finish. I forgot to even take a photo because we were so hungry haha..would recommend this place if you are craving for a burger. Thank you.. We will come back here next time!!😁

Fish & chips restaurant
Madfish & Chips is highly recommended with slightly higher prices that are warranted by generous portions and high-quality cuisine. The Chicken Schnitzel burgers exceeded expectations in terms of size, satisfying hunger perfectly. The chicken was expertly cooked, juicy, and coated in a crispy batter that wasn't overdone. Additionally, the burger's salads were refreshingly fresh. Ordering in-store was quick, with a short wait time even during peak hours.
My partner and I bought the snapper and chips and it was one of the best we've had! The batter was light, fish was tasty and the fries weren't greasy. It was a large portion size and great value for your money. Definitely recommending to anyone visiting Denmark!
Kiera K — Google review
Honestly, this is hard to write because I am all about supporting small businesses – but this fell way short. $24 for 1 piece of grilled snapper.. and it was an absolutely annihilated piece of fish. Completely dried out and over cooked. The calamari: its batter was strange to be honest. Chips were OK, but how difficult is it to cook a chip? The worst part about this experience was actually the vibe in the shop. I hope that the owners see this and take the feedback into consideration. $77 for two pieces of fish, some calamari and some chips that were not cooked correctly in this day and age is absolutely not OK.
Lisa C — Google review
The fish was fresh caught that day and really delicious. Pineapple fritter was the best i hand had. Everything was nice and crispy, chips were great. Fish was a little pricey but for fresh caught that day you can understand why and it was worth it for a treat.
Kylie M — Google review
As luck would have it, we couldn’t indulge in the delicious smelling food there due to our kids’ allergies… but… we were able to take home some of the frozen fish to enjoy. Delicious! Appreciated the understanding owners too… lovely people.
Amy M — Google review
Have been here twice and both times not dissapointed. Reasonably priced for the serving sizes, fish not overcooked and the batter was beautiful. Salt and pepper squid rings were cooked well, could have been crispier but were not rubbery. Pineapple fritters are to die for and chips are perfectly cooked, a little cripsy and soft on the inside. Overall would highly recommend this fish and chip place. Super satisfied!
Emily — Google review
Wow... First class FnCs. Deep fried king George whiting was sublime. Crispy batter with sweetest KGW complimented by crispy chips and thin potato scallop lightly fried. Pineapple fritter was delightful👏👏👏

Have had good fish and chips from here but on this occasion the fish (Hake) was dry and tough and the chips were under seasoned and very average. Handbattered squid were good. Maybe ordering on a weekend effected the quality of the food.

Such a lovely place for us as dinosaur, reptile, and bird lovers! Beautifully unique, and the owner is clearly passionate about his work. You get to hold and pet some of gorgeous birds and a lovely little snake, and there are two rescue kangaroos that you can feed. A really sweet stop on our way to Denmark.

Family of 5 - 2 adults, 3 kids aged 12, 4 and 2. So much more than just dinosaurs! We had the best day today, hanging out with the most beautiful birds, kangaroos, snakes and of course the dinosaurs 🦜🦘🐍🦖 When we arrived, we had the place to ourselves and the man who build and owned this amazing place, Bill, gave us so much information about dinosaurs, the amazing birds and the reptiles. Not only were the robotic dinosaurs and replica dinosaur skeletons absolutely amazing, but we were able to hold and interact with birds every colour of the rainbow, feed and pat two gorgeous kangaroos and we got to have a private meet and greet with 3 of the tamest, friendliest mini python snakes - which is what our 4 year old loved the most! What a great day 🙌🏻

We had a great time at dinosaur world. The kids loved the dinosaurs, reptiles and wild life. For entry we got to see all the animals, hold some reptiles and birds and feed some kangaroos. Even on a rainy day we were leant some umbrellas so we didn't miss out.

Nice place. Have done a lot of effort to manage it. Bill was kind n smiley. Ample parking. Dinosaur caricatures, snakes n lizards, kangaroos, n plenty of parrots. One can hold n pet the reptiles. Must see for kids. Small souvenir shop. Moderate fee/charges.

The owner was super nice and let me hold a baby snake! Many of the birds are out of their cages and free to roam which is amazing for visitors and the birds themselves. Snakes were also really cool and surprisingly active and you can even feed a couple kangaroos! Very much worth a visit especially if you're already here to see the tree top walk, can't recommend it enough!

Saw the sign while driving from Denmark and decided to go and have a look - best decision! Such a unique and interesting place. Dinosaur figures + skeletones and interesting alive snakes. Favourites were a lot of different birds that are freely roaming around and say some phrases and are super friendly. Some fly/climb on you and want cuddles. Also two kangaroos that we got to feed and pet. The owner of this place is such a cool person who tells you different stories and showed us a young python that we got to hold! Overall a very welcoming and great place for both kids and adults. So glad we saw the sign and decided to visit!

2 adults. 1.5 hours. We had a lovely time here. Arrived at 10:00 before anyone else. There are lots of different types of parrots. Some of the parrots are free to roam around and are friendly. The owner was great, very informative, friendly and inviting, thank you for making it such a nice visit. He kept the parrots safe and showed us that they use their mouths/beaks to find out about the world. We also fed the kangaroos, these were very gentle with soft fur. The lizards and snakes were informative, nothing to be afraid of. The dinosaur animatronics were fun.
Geoff K — Google review
We first visited in 2018 and they have expanded their dinosaur display which the grand children loved. There were more aviaries outside with beautiful birds most of whom can't be released. There were snakes and bobtails that children/adults could hold plus an information session. Others snakes were able to be viewed in a safe environment.

Forest Hill Wines boasts an exquisite underground storage area, offering a wide variety of exceptional wines. With a rich wine heritage and the bar's affable and knowledgeable host, patrons are treated to an abundance of information alongside their delightful selection. Notably, their resiling is crafted with finesse, and the reds stand out as robust compared to other wineries in this cooler climatic region.
We had a wonderful wine tasting at Forest Hill Wines, guided by the delightful Emma. She welcomed us warmly and shared her knowledge about the vineyards, detailing where each grape variety is grown and the unique characteristics of each plot. Emma led us through the tasting, highlighting the distinct aromas and flavors present in each wine. Her approach was informative and engaging, making the experience truly enjoyable. The wines themselves were exceptional, beautifully crafted and well-balanced. We highly recommend visiting Forest Hill Wines.

Hi Forest Hill I am a Queenslander and wanted to experience cellar door in your region , although it’s the winter months. U cannot imagine how great it was when I pulled into your winery, which was open, ….. to find the knowledge and experience that Pete shared with me. I enjoyed the tasting and the chat whilst the time slipped away. I purchased a couple of Bottles and will recommend to anyone coming your way. Thank you!

We had such a lovely wine tasting, so many delicious wines even though reds aren’t typically our favourite! Ended up getting a bottle of the Chardonnay at the cellar and was recommended where to go for dinner where we ended up getting a bottle of the Riesling to go with dinner. Didn’t catch her name but our server was so sweet, had lived in Missoula Montana and was able to tell all about what to do for our stay in Denmark 🫶🏻

The lovely gentleman we had who served us our tastings (sorry I’m going to say he had a bald head) was very knowledgeable and personable which makes the experience all the more better. Tucked away on Mount Shadforth Rd, the Sister's of Eve Gallery/Studio is a captivating gem that showcases the extraordinary artistry of Carol. Each artwork tells a mythical story, beautifully blending nature with the human spirit and inviting deep reflection. Visitors are treated to an intimate experience as Carol shares her passion and insights behind each piece, enhancing the connection to her work. The gallery features intricate originals framed in jewels alongside high-quality prints, all crafted with remarkable detail across various mediums.
I visited today and left inspired and uplifted. It was a total experience of the eyes, mind and spirit. The gallery and its surroundings are a testament to the artist’s vision and enduring search for meaning and healing. A true gift in every way.

Amazing work - I come to this gallery every time I come to Denmark and can’t leave without buying a least 1 piece - Carol's work is stunning and she is such a beautiful soul sharing her heartfelt stories - this is such a special gallery - don’t miss it on your visit to Denmark
Lorraine W — Google review
I first visited Carol's gallery and studio late last year with my children, and we were all in awe of the incredible attention to detail and the feeling that goes into each of her art pieces. When you ask about a particular piece, she is happy to share the story behind it, revealing the depth of thought that goes into each one. We were each drawn to different pieces, so heard several stories. We have never seen such intricate details in other artworks. They have a unique style, and reveal a deep appreciation for nature and a hope for the future of the world. The more you look at them, the more you see! I brought my partner to visit Carol's gallery last week, as he had admired some of her pieces at Duckett's Mill. He was just as impressed as we had been, and we will continue to visit and collect more of her prints each time we return to Denmark. Carol has also decorated the outside entrance to her gallery with mosaics, and has recently also completed a beautiful mosaic across the front of her house. These are also worth stopping to admire.
Kim L — Google review
What an amazing artist and gallery. Carol's meticulously drawn paintings are completed with a variety of embellishments including crystals and repurposed jewellery which add light, texture and life to the artwork. Frames complement original paintings and include more embellishments. Definitely a must see when you are in Denmark.
Karen P — Google review
We have driven past this gallery a few times this week and today called in after seeing Carols art at the local markets. I was so inspired by her kindness today in sharing her story - I picked a couple of pieces that I was drawn too. Then, Carol tells you the story of the painting and how they come to life - this was beautiful and took my breath away. Don’t drive past call in and meet Carol. She is a beautiful lady and artist.

What a beautiful art gallery, it was a spiritual pleasure connecting with the artwork and seeing the beauty, strength, power and femininity of the natural female form. Carol had a beautiful story to go with each masterpiece and when I heard the story for Interwoven Lives I knew why I was drawn to it, I related so much to the meaning and iconography of this artwork. I'm looking forward to going back to take it all in again soon ❤️
Taneeke M — Google review
Our friends took us to see Carol's gallery today, and I tell you, I felt dizzy walking back out again! Literally like I had been through another dimension. The time, care, patience and knowledge she puts into each piece is just astounding. Go, ask her to read the stories, and stare until you lose yourself. And if you're lucky, she may even show you her secret treasure box...

Mount Lindesay National Park offers an exceptional hiking experience with its enjoyable stroll, gradual ascent to breathtaking panoramas, diverse range of plant life, and unexpected spots of colorful blooms that persist well into the summer season. It is important to note two potential concerns: following rainfalls, certain steep rocky portions may become slippery; moreover, during hot climate conditions, the trail can be quite strenuous. Therefore, it is advisable to carry an ample supply of water while exploring this enchanting location.
Awesome hiking trails, great views, plenty of snakes around in Summer.

Well worth the trip to the top! Amazing views! Take plenty of water and maybe some protien bars to snack on on the way as its about a 3hr there back trip. You get full 4g coverage at the top also, for all the facebookers out there. Definatly take a camera! And shoes for climbing rocks and long walking uphill. There are white picket markers when you get to the top, and little arrowhead markers on the ground, so its easy to see which way your meant to go. When you get back down the hill to the bridge going over the river, you will see a bridge going over the river for 4x4's ONLY. It is a good fun track that you can see some different scenery. Beware there are some bog holes and steep inclines/declines and alot of washed away bots of track. But all up good fun. I have a 4x4 Ranger ute and did it no worries.

Restaurant
The food at Ajar On Shadforth is remarkably tasty, surpassing other renowned restaurants in Margaret River. Every dish, from the warm olives to the fettuccine and white chocolate pudding, is exceptionally flavorful and receives a perfect rating. The meals are unexpectedly delicious and go perfectly with Denmark cider. The venue itself offers breathtaking views that have remained unchanged throughout the years. The staff is accommodating and friendly, making for a pleasant dining experience. Even the kids' meals are impressive.
Best meal in a very long time. Was amazing! Staff were very friendly and were so good with our 3 year old. Chef was fantastic. He came out and chatted with guests. Even helping take and bring out orders. You don't see that very often! Will definitely be back!

Always wanted to go there and start the resort but it never happened and I'm glad that I finally had the opportunity on our last night in Denmark and it's the most amazingly presented grounds for restaurant with the most amazing views I have seen in a long time highly recommend a window seat if it's your first time in the southwest and Denmark that way you can look out the window and see all the landmarks from above to increase that experience so you realise how high you actually are above Denmark and one of the highest points and look at the map and understand the awesomeness. Already know about the resort from the time it was first started and it's one of the best in the southwest I've had many friends go there and they always highly recommend it so one of these days I'll stay there the food was amazing and it is BYO so please make sure you bring your own wine with you everything tasted fantastic I had the beef done medium and it was absolutely perfect. The only thing that needs to be improved on which I hope management read is that some of the staff need to make a bit better eye contact with the customers because one of the girls that was working there was avoiding eye contact when some of the clients wanted to place a dessert or a coffee order or wanted to order extra things and they purposely did not make eye contact with any of the tables only certain ones and the lady that was serving us all the time she was the only one doing the rest of the tables the other girl didn't want to do so she was left for soul doing most of the work as well as cleaning the bar area so the other one didn't do very much so maybe a supervisor needs to just watch from a distance when they think they're not watching I used to be a waitress and to me making eye contact when somebody needs something is extremely important not ignoring the people at the table One thing that I will never do is physically get up off my table in a fine dining restaurant to get somebody's attention that's a big no-no for me but they need to make sure that I can wave them down and avoiding looking at the tables to me is a massive no-no because if I'm going to spend lots of money at a restaurant I expect that I can make eye contacts and get the waitresses attention to come to the table so if you want me to spend my money some of the staff made require better training so you don't get grumpy clients The lady that served us the one with dark hair and the young gentleman that was there with caramel hair they were fantastic they were extremely helpful and polite and they didn't amazing job of tending to all the tables The other lady that I was speaking of she was mainly doing cleaning up of the tables not so much taking orders or making sure that people had everything they needed. She won't stop me from going there again because I do intend on coming back so I hopefully by then she'll understand what a wait person or as you call food and beverage attendant sometimes is supposed to do and that's called customer service customer service is everything to a restaurant so you're the rest of your staff are absolutely wonderful and thank you very much for an amazing night. I've added photos of the food but the photos really don't do it justice how well presented the food was the the desserts were amazing and it wasn't any option to add which meal I've currently had on the Google review we had the lemon meringue style dessert that was very filling and very large so I highly recommend having two people eat that one to share. The creme brulee was a standard creme brulee with a strawberry on the side so it wasn't a try colour creme brulee so it was a standard one with the crispy caramel on top with a strawberry garnish on the side but the taste of it was amazing and the selection of food available was excellent looking forward to going back.

The food here is exceptional. I'm not often 'wowed' by food, but the food here absolutely blew us away. The Chef is so talented. The food was cooked to perfection, quality produce, beautiful flavours. The view is stunning. I like that it's BYO. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Thank you for such a memorable lunch!

I was expecting a good meal for my husband's birthday but came out with disappointment instead. First of all the staff were not engaged, the food wasn't too bad but you have to BYO. I also told the staff that the booking is for my partner's birthday however my requested happy birthday message didn't happen. Huge disappointment and NOT HAPPY so much potential can do better

We had a very nice lunch at Ajar on Shadforth. We found it on Google maps and were attracted by its beautiful environment! It’s a quiet place to enjoy your lunch with loved ones. All the food that we ordered were so delicious! We will come back next time to try other dishes.

My partner brought me here on my birthday. First time at Ajar on Shadforth, I did not know what to expect. But I’m glad he chose this place as I could not imagine how much this place had surprised me! We were there early, happened to talk to the Chef and was offered a nice table and some good wine to start off with. Our table was next to a full glass window given us a beautiful view overlooking the valley. Starting off with seared scallops with crispy prosciutto & beef carpaccio- Delicious!!! We had the beef fillet , potato gnocchi and the duck for mains- the beef fillet and duck are just unbelievable tender! We’ve been to a lot of restaurants in Perth and I would say no one cooks like this! The sauce on each dish balance off so well. We already have so much food for entree and mains but I’m still tempted to finish off with the dessert- creme brûlée + chocolate cheesecake with forest berries and white chocolate ice cream! I must say I was spoiled on my birthday!! Thanks to my partner picking this nice restaurant, their service is second to none! Thank you Chef Grant for being so thoughtful. Your passion, innovation and the great talent are shown on our plates! Everything you do for your customer ( like the special light effect), it’s something we will not forget! We really appreciate to have such an amazing time at your restaurant. Highly recommended everyone!!! You will not regret this! We will definitely be back!
Sarena C — Google review
Our meals were exceptional and proportions very generous. We had the scallops for entree, for mains I had the barramundi and my partner had the steak (both cooked to perfection). We arrived at the last minute and chef was very generous to allow us in. Highly recommend!!!
Linda M — Google review
Went to Ajar for dinner after reading about the great reviews and unfortunately for us, we went home feeling really disappointed with the food. We ordered the scotch fillet steak ($49) and the duck ($42) as mains. The steak was tough and mash potato was very bland. We felt we could have done a better job cooking this at home. The duck dish was nice but slightly overcooked. The food was very pricey for what you get. We did not bother ordering desserts. The BYO alcohol did not bother us. Besides the food, the venue is gorgeous with lovely views and the wait staff were all friendly and nice.

Pub
The Denmark Tavern is a classic country pub that offers generous portions of delicious pub grub, including a massive parmi. The friendly staff and sunny southwest beer garden create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. In addition to the tasty food, the tavern also features billiards, darts, and a playground. Guests can enjoy outdoor views while savoring dishes like crispy fried chicken, fish and chips, calamari, and burgers. The curry with rice and beautifully cooked vegetables is highly recommended as well.
Excellent Family friendly Tavern, incredibly comfortable atmosphere. Fireplace, kids playground, great outside seating. Just awesome! 👌🏽 Great food, fairly priced drinks, Cosy rooms, wifi all round top experience. Will be back for sure!
StiLL J — Google review
Food average, we ordered few dishes approx 4pm so not busy. Parmi served was good, just attention detail in serving dishes was missing, ingredients stated on menu not included…Example cauliflower dish…no coriander and seriously so much more mayo than the actual cauliflower, who eats mayo like that? Loved vibe/set out of pub though
Sarah F — Google review
They were very friendly and thoroughly made sure my food was coeliac safe I came here with a friend, there was a nice outdoor couch to sit on and enjoy the nice view outdoors. The after lunch "small menu" still had a lot of options and gluten free food options too

Fantastic Tavern. Friendly staff, made my husband and I feel at home. Good pub grub 😁 Courtesy bus a winner Thurs-Sun if you're staying close to Town 🍻👌😍

A great pub nestled in Denmark, great feed with honestly good country service. Food was ok, butter chicken is not the conventional, only a tablespoon or so of liquid on 2 small pieces of chicken with a small cup of rice, the Parmies were dry... But honestly don't not go based on a review, it comes down to the cook / chef on the day. The meals were a good size.

Highly recommend! Amazing food at reasonable prices, great drinks, great service, can cater for gluten free coeliac with separate fryer, excellent kids playground with seating right next to it

Small country Hotel. A place that's not too small and not to big. Fairly popular in the off season. Had the prawns, rice and salad and a small Margaret River Prosecco

West Cape Howe is absolutely stunning—raw coastline, steep cliffs, and a remote feel, yet it’s only about 40 minutes from Albany. Shelley Beach is a quiet, beautiful spot for a swim or picnic, with amazing views and even hang-gliders overhead. The nearby wind farm adds to the scenery, and Albany makes a great base to explore the area with its charm, history, and great coastal access.
R S — Google review
We came back after two years for the same season, between xmas and new years. It's great because you don't need booking and it's a wonderfull hidden corner. This time though, the camp host was nowhere to be seen, so campers went unleashed and placed tents (8pax) on dunes and big families rocking up blocking cars at the parking bay. It wasn't a very pleasant experience, but I guess you have to come down on a more quiet period. Still I think that the place lacks of proper camping policies/etiquette, even when there is no one to supervise especially in such a small camping ground. Please remember to be respectful with nature and rest of campers, carry your rubbish back with you and NEVER BLOCK CARS IN A CAR PARK, especially in areas of difficult access.

Great little market, friendly locals! Nice coffee from Al Cappucino coffee van (love the name!), The Gourmet Bee salted honey is to die for & delicious fresh hot donuts 😍
Renee W — Google review
Very small markets with preserves, honey, donuts, t-shirts, mugs & water bottles - plus a few other homemade products (tumeric tonic, soap & cleaners). No fresh fruit or veg. Worth a visit to support the locals.
Stacey B — Google review
Nothing in the images is at the actual market. There was donuts, honey, hand soap, thermomix stand, crystal stall, and 3 bric a brac stalls. Smallest market I have ever seen and given what was in the images online versus what we saw all of us were very disappointed

Thought would be a lot bigger , Didn’t do a great deal for me , but the walk along river from Denmark was very enjoyable and, about 20minutes .

This is a great little market held in and around the local school gymnasium. There's a variety of local produce available, such as vegetables and honey, as well as various hand-crafted items. Also water, coffee, chai latte & donuts 😋 There was a young lady singing....she had the most fabulous voice & was raising money for her uni fees. I can definitely recommend a visit if you happen to be in the area
Helen P — Google review
I love going to this market. It is very little but so high quality and a great variety of stalls. The food stalls are all divine!! I always eat too much. The fresh produce is just that - extremely fresh! Also it is not like farmers market prices! Very reasonable. There is a variety of other stalls from recycled goods, handicrafts, honey, and second hand items. It is just a lovely way to start your Sunday!

Amazing, quiet beach. Spectacular rocks, shining white sand, and crystaline water. If there are other people at the main beach (which is unlikely), go to the left, pass the rocks via a little track over the dunes and you will find a beautifull second beach. For an even more remote beach, check out the third beach on the left. Just spectacular.

Such a wonderful secluded beach. Don't really want to tell anyone whete this is :) amazing walk in winter and can't wait to explore and experience it in summer.

Very secluded beach. Fantastic lagoon behind the reefs, so protected from large waves. Good location for some snorkeling. However, be careful for the current that builds further out, seemingly stronger into the afternoon. Nullaki is gated, although everyone is welcome to come on to the peninsula along the main bitumen roads, and there is NO other beach access other than walking down from the Anvil Beach car park.

Nestled in the heart of town, Ravens Coffee is a charming café that offers a delightful experience for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike. With its prime location by the river, this bustling spot attracts locals seeking their morning caffeine fix. Owner Nick Raven takes pride in roasting specialty-grade coffee beans right on-site using a small batch roaster, allowing patrons to witness the magic as they await their orders.
Best coffee in Denmark, and arguably the best coffee on the coast until you hit Albany. The service was quick and professional, and the menu was excellent. I had the big breakfast on arrival in town and it was fantastic - loved the chorizo. Coffee was excellent and brought me back time and time again. The place is quite large, with plenty of options for indoor and covered outdoor dining. It’s on the southern edge of town in the Main Street, so keep looking until you find it - it’s worth the effort.
Kim E — Google review
Raven's is a coffee shop along the South Coast Highway in Denmark. They have indoor and outdoor seating. You can do take-away orders as well. Opening hours are 7am to 3pm daily. They offer a standard range of coffees, selection of non-coffee drinks as well as savoury and sweet food items. We made a quick stop here for Long Black and Macchiato coffees on the go. Service was quick, prices right and coffees tasted like they should. Not sure what the coffee scene is like in Denmark but Raven's seemed like a good spot for a cup if in town and in need of a caffeine fix. We'd stop here again.

Nice little cafe in the heart of Denmark. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in. I had a coffee that was well-made and had a strong, bold flavour—great if you like your coffee with a bit of punch. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, making it a good place to take a break. Overall, it is a solid spot for quality coffee and warm service. Would happily come back next time I’m in town.
Masoud D — Google review
The menu is quite limited and my smashed avo threw out some unusual flavours. Lord M had the chilli scrambled eggs with a side of bacon and recommends. The coffee was good but they were really busy this Easter/Anzac week and the staff really didn't seem to be coping - a few had less than impressive attitudes.
Lady M — Google review
It takes a lot for me to post a bad review (this is my first ever), but I felt the need to warn others here 😢 While lining up I could see lots of staff including 4 of them in the kitchen, standing around laughing and eating their own breakfasts while customers who had ordered were looking frustrated with empty tables. I should have listened to instinct at this point and walked away 😔 We ordered juice and coffee, scrambles and smashed avo. I offered to give the lady my table number when ordering it, but she said it wasn’t needed 🤔 Outdoor chairs were broken, and we watched as other customers came in and shuffled seating around to find one that would work. Drinks and food would occasionally come out, with the waitresses yelling out what they had in their hands due to no name and no table number taken with the order, and more often than not it would go back to the kitchen with questions. Our coffee arrived after half an hour, and our food after an hour. The coffee would have been ok if it wasn’t lukewarm. The food was overpriced: cheap bread, tasteless scrambles and avocado. It’s such a shame, as the location is beautiful and it could have been a great experience if the staff were trained up and there was someone there who cared enough to take the reins in the kitchen and on the floor.
Shelley H — Google review
Coffe is good. We had Red thai curry on rice and chilli scrambled eggs on sourdough. Both nice.

We checked out the menu on line beforehand only to find a smaller selection on offer. We ordered Avo smash and Chilli Scrambled egg. Both I thought were plain and I was greatful they had provided a small dish of Chilli sauce. Coffee apparently was great as was the Lemon Grass loose leaf tea.

Nestled in Denmark, Massimo's Place is a beloved gem renowned for its wholesome and mouthwatering pizzas. The menu features an array of thoughtfully sourced toppings, including locally made camembert cheese, ensuring each pizza is a delightful masterpiece. As you approach Massimo's Place, the tantalizing aroma wafts through the air long before you step inside.
Amazing pizza! We ordered the truffle and the prawn chorizo and they were brought out hot, fast and made with the most beautiful fresh ingredients. The service was friendly and efficient and we were offered extras such as chilli oil and some local hot sauces to try. There's a cute little eating area out the back and the staff were kind enough to turn the heaters on for us.

Great pizza - extensive menu, terrific flavour, quick service. This is a very popular place, for good reason. I had the pork and leafy broccoli and it was excellent. Seating is available at the restaurant and when I picked up my pizza at 1800, the place was jumping!

My husband and I are on our honeymoon from Sydney. We’ve been swimming all day and hadn’t really eaten properly so we decided to get pizza for dinner. We ordered the family size Nduja pizza. It was bigger than I expected and was really tasty with a good kick to it. We’ve had Nduja pizzas many times in Italy and we love it, although after tonight, I can’t even think about food. At midnight my husband woke up vomiting and I had the runs. We were up all night sharing the bathroom, it was so awful. We now have to endure a 5 hour car ride back to Perth and fly to Sydney today. I’m not sure how we will be doing this, but this pizza has ruined our trip. Such a shame because the reviews here are good. We’re also not the type of people who get food poisoning, we eat pretty much everything, but this has really shooked us. We hadn’t eaten properly all day so we know for a fact it came from this meal. Feels like we paid $42 to get sick at this point. So awful.
Fong — Google review
We tried a butter chicken pizza and mushroom pizza. Mushroom pizza was okay but didn't enjoy the butter chicken pizza at all. It didn't have any flavour of butter chicken. Moreover please don't add big chunks of potato on a butter chicken pizza. It completely doesn't do justice to its name. Please use a proper butter chicken sauce as base and I'm sure you will have a better tasting pizza. Also try reducing the amount of coriander leaves and Parsley as toppings, as they were slightly overpowering. Overall our experience was below average. Staffs were really friendly and hence 3 stars. Edit: Wow, what a terrible way to handle customer feedback. Instead of taking it constructively, you choose to be rude and dismissive. If this is how you treat honest reviews, no wonder your food misses the mark. A ‘Butter Chicken Pizza’ should actually taste like butter chicken, not bland with chunks of boiled potato. Maybe focus on improving your food instead of insulting your customers. Changing the rating to 1 star 👎 Edit 2: Stars are based on your service and mind you, we paid for the food we ordered, and it didn't make us feel good and so it will reflect in the stars as well.

A couple of dads with hungry mouths to feed stopped for takeaway for the kids before a bigger drive. The food was top notch. Your tomato base is exceptional and the pizza crust was cooked perfectly. The right crunch to inner softness ratio. Great selection of pizzas. But the icing on the cake was they even boiled the kettle and helped us out when we needed to make bottles for the kids. Going the extra mile. Staff that care. When we're back in Denmark again we will visit again. Thank you

Love this place! The prawn & chorizo pizza is amazing, but honestly the bases and sauce are so damn good - anything you order is going to be the best pizza you've ever had. I want to give these guys 6 out of 5!! Garlic bread is also fantastic (wish I took a photo - but we ate it too fast 😂).
