The National Railway Museum in Port Adelaide is a must-visit for both train enthusiasts and families. It boasts an extensive collection of steam engines, carriages, and other railway memorabilia. Visitors can explore numerous fascinating exhibits and even take a ride on an old train for a small additional fee. The museum features over 100 exhibits representing various railway operators across Australia's major rail gauges.
We enjoyed this place very much — there’s so much to learn about railway history! There’s a great variety of steam and diesel locomotives on display, and everything is very well presented. One of the highlights was the miniature railway that runs around the museum every 30 minutes, which was a lot of fun, especially for kids. There’s also a train compartment open for visitors to explore, which gave us a real sense of how it would have felt to travel back in the day. Entrance fee is $19 per adult, toilets are available, and there’s plenty of parking on-site. Definitely a fantastic and educational day out for families!

I had a wonderful experience at the National Railway Museum. The gentlemen at the entrance were so welcoming and kind, and I could really feel their passion for railways and their enthusiasm for their work. Their friendliness made the visit even more special. Although I only had a short time before closing, I truly enjoyed exploring the museum, it’s fascinating and full of history. It’s a pity I’m leaving Adelaide tonight, but I’ll definitely come back to spend more time here in the future. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Adelaide!

2 weeks ago, we visited National Railway Museum in Port Adelaide on King’s Birthday holiday 2025. Not disappointed, after parked out the metered outdoor parking lot just opposite to the museum, we walked about only 1 minute to it. Although it was a national holiday, we didn’t need to wait then could paid for our entry fee (also enjoyed discount with my NSW senior discount card) 👍 There are plenty of historic trains, trackways and carriages to display. To end this visit, we took a free of charge riding on the mini railway, travelling the whole museum, indoors and outdoors displays. Interesting snapshots, our mini ran in parallel with another real modern light railway for nearly one minute 😂 Yes, I recommend it to everyone who is travelling to Adelaide.
Richard C — Google review
Love coming here, lots of trains to see and get to ride in a little train as well around the Museum getting a glimpse at items we can't see when walking around. A real stroll into the past. Great for younger children all the way up to older ages. Lots of memories that are well kept and often interactive.
Karen H — Google review
Lovely museum, showcasing a large variety of old trains and providing a glimpse into the life of the past with many displays, some even interactive! Miniature trains also present on site which depart at the little railway station approximately every 30 minutes. Saw many kids hyped about riding the train 😊 Recommend for train enthusiasts of all ages to visit 🚂
Melisa A — Google review
Great museum with great staff! Very polite and made to feel welcome. Great exhibits with a fun miniature ride around the grounds. Well worth a visit if you’re in Adelaide!
Ethan S — Google review
Definitely worth a visit if you are into trains and the rich and splendid history of Australia’s industrial development which they had contributed to and been standing for. The story of Bub the stray cat is fascinating. The cabins and vintage locomotives on exhibit have been well maintained even after decades. Explore the adventure of tea and sugar trains that once carried essential procurements and brought joy and hope to railway workers and their families. Hop on the small yellow train for a ride accompanied by cranking noises and whistles. You’d forget how time has lapsed.
Guang Y — Google review
a must coming here if u like trains. not only u can see different trains, u can drive a train by paying a little fee and reserving a time slot via a lottery app . also there are tons of train simulators.

The South Australian Maritime Museum, situated in Port Adelaide just a short drive from central Adelaide, offers an immersive experience into maritime history. Housed in a restored stone warehouse, the museum features permanent collections and temporary exhibits that showcase nautical history through ships' figureheads, shipwreck relics, and intricate scale models including a walkable ketch. Visitors can explore the basement to see a bunk bed aboard an 1840s immigrant ship and learn about the challenging journeys to South Australia.
We enjoyed walking around the Maritime museum. Loved all the model ships! Friendly staff and wasn't too busy. Great spot to spend an hour or two. As we left we walked to the water straight up the street and found there was loads of jellyfish!
Tarac — Google review
One of the best maritime museums I have visited around the nation. What stands out on the South Australian Maritime Museum for me is its focus on SA history, interactive science-works like activities upstairs and the ketch downstairs with compartments that are accessible. The entire place was just well maintained. My family and I truly enjoyed walking around and reading about SA history.
Siew T — Google review
Good museum illustrating and explaining the history of maritime life of South Australia, including the lives of the first peoples, explorers/navigators/cartographers/scientists, dolphins, windjammers, shipwrecks, immigrants/colonists and beach and port life. A restored ketch can be boarded and entered. Gift shop has educational books, souvenirs and jewellery. 4.5 stars. A few displays need repair, and the elevator is currently iffy. If you visit one of the four museums in Port Adelaide, you get discounted entry at the others: South Australia Aviation Museum, National Railway Museum and clipper ship "City of Adelaide."
Laura C — Google review
Engaging and extensive artefacts to view, loved the focus on the Ports history, especially on the top floor. Haven’t been since I was a child, yet it still possess the same magic and charm. Price is a bit steep, but if you pace yourself and genuinely take the time to read and interact with the artefacts (big and small), screens and audio being played throughout, it’s well worth it in my opinion.
Jack M — Google review
The South Australian Maritime Museum provides a comprehensive yet entertaining experience to all. The museum spans across three main levels, with a main exhibit of a ketch named ‘Active II’. The side exhibits are also very informative, giving specialised insight into South Australia’s maritime involvement. These are quite well designed and interactive, giving a broad range of aspects, including colonial, modern, civilian and military perspectives. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, the South Australia Maritime Museum is a visit well worth its price.

Pirate Life Brewing is a renowned craft brewery in Adelaide that has made its mark on the city's craft beer scene. Founded by brewer mates Jack Cameron and Jared Red Proudfoot, the brewery offers an expansive industrial-style venue with over 20 beers on tap, along with pub grub and outdoor space. The brewery has come a long way from its origins in a rental property's shed in the Barossa Valley to its current large warehouse in Royal Park.
Great beer, Asian-inspired dishes, and an awesome vibe! I’ve been there countless times with family, friends, and even for company parties. Last night, they had a live event too—absolutely epic!
OHANA — Google review
Great pub, I've been drinking the Pirates Life beer for ages, and it was my first time to pop in this place. Pan, the gentleman who was taking orders, was super friendly and very professional, I went for a beer platter with his selection and it was great. Staff are lovely and the food was good too. If you have kids, I guess they have some face paintings too, it was on Sunday I went in.
IMan J — Google review
This place is perfect for a weekend hangout with family and friends. The beer is great, and grabbing the platter to try their selection turned out to be the perfect choice. The food is always tasty and never lets me down. There's a fun, lively atmosphere with something for everyone. The kids love the arcade games, and we all enjoy playing shuffleboard together. The service is always friendly.

I had an amazing experience at Pirate Life Brewery! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh and full of flavour. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and it’s a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The staff were friendly and attentive (shout out to Pan), which made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back – highly recommend if you’re in Port Adelaide!

Been meaning to check this place out for ages, and visiting from Victoria over Easter we got our chance and finally made it on Easter Monday. So glad they were open, great beers, games, tasty food, and plenty of good vibes. Worth the short train ride from the city on an otherwise dull day. The continental sandwich hit the spot and and MC x PL hazy, soooo good 😋 🍻 🎶

The brewery was buzzing but without feeling too hectic, and the DJ was playing some awesome tunes. Staff were attentive and friendly too. Great beers and good company for a lovely Saturday evening.

Went to take me home country event, really great day lots of music some big sounds from American musicians. Great venue, big bar plenty outside seating, ample food choices. Loved the salty Suzuki gin

Met the family there for a birthday celebration and set up a tab using a card they issued in exchange for my visa card. A few people on the table next to us got wind of the tab and started putting food and drinks on our tab. We checked the balance and it was up to $196, then 20 mins later it was up to over $300. If you're issued with a tab card, why are people able to use your tab without showing their own tab card? Just by mentioning you're on a certain table, shouldn't give you the right to access someone elses tab. Not happy Jan!!

The South Australian Aviation Museum, located in Port Adelaide, is a multi-hangar museum that showcases a diverse collection of historic planes and aviation artifacts. Housed in a WWII hangar, the museum features approximately 15 aircraft including an impressive F-111 bomber. Visitors can explore themed galleries filled with modern and heritage aircraft, engines, propellers, and rockets. Guided tours are available for those interested in delving deeper into the history of specific planes.
What a delightful journey through South Australia's skies awaits at the Aviation Museum! From the moment you step inside, you're embraced by the spirit of flight, surrounded by a fascinating collection of aircraft that whisper tales of innovation and adventure. The lovingly preserved planes, from vintage biplanes to powerful jets, offer a tangible connection to aviation history. What truly elevates this museum is the engaging way it presents its exhibits. You can almost feel the rumble of the engines and the rush of wind beneath the wings. The informative displays and passionate volunteers bring each aircraft's story to life, making it accessible and captivating for all ages. Whether you're an avid aviation enthusiast or simply curious, a visit to the SA Aviation Museum is a truly enriching and memorable experience. It's a place where the dreams of flight take tangible form.
Dave M — Google review
The South Australian Aviation Museum provides a unique and exciting insight to the history of all things aircraft. There are over 10 main aircraft, such as the AP-3C Orion, Fokker F27 Friendship, and F-18 Hornet, split across two hangars. There is also a surprising collection of both military and commercial aircraft. Knowledgeable and passionate staff are able to give extensive information about missiles, planes, helicopters and more. Many old books are also able to purchased from the shop for under $5! My only criticism is that some interactive exhibits are in need of maintenance, including the flight simulator. Ultimately, my visit to South Australian Aviation Museum has been gratifying and worthwhile.
Luke S — Google review
A fantastic experience for aviation enthusiasts and families alike! The collection is impressive, with well-preserved aircraft and plenty of informative displays. definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
Chattapol C — Google review
This was a great rainy day outing for our preschoolers. They got in for free! Plenty of things to see and explore without getting into the video displays etc. They especially liked the little planes to fly around the hangars in.
Karen V — Google review
Great place to understand Australia aviation history. Lots of old and new planes. Can go into some of the planes. Got cute kids push car for kids to ride. Museum is within walking distance of Port Dock metro station.
Kin ( — Google review
Visited here with my toddler and husband. We really enjoyed looking at all the aircraft and equipment displays. We very much enjoyed being able to go inside a bunch of the aircraft and learning about them. They have 2 big hangars with a good range of things to look at. Food and drinks not allowed in the museum but have a good area to sit between the hangars to have a snack break. They also have a good museum shop with toys, a wide range of model aeroplanes and souvenirs. Would definitely recommend this museum. You can also go to the other museums in the port area for a discounted price with min 2 months of the first visit.
Katy K — Google review
I’m glad I visited this museum on the weekend. It's a popular spot and a great place to bring kids. You can see many unique planes, most of which are well-preserved, and some you can even enter and explore. The museum grounds have recently been upgraded with a larger parking area, making it more convenient for visitors. The best part is the friendly volunteers who are always eager to share interesting information about the exhibits. Overall, it's a fun and educational outing, and I highly recommend it for a weekend visit!

I visited this place based on a friend’s recommendation, and honestly, it served some of the best food I’ve had since coming to Australia. Every dish was flavorful without being overwhelming, and the pasta in particular was absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the top five Western restaurants I’ve been to in Australia!

Come and experience Adelaide's coziest vintage cafe by the port! Such a wonderful atmosphere and charm, it really added to the experience, making the dining experience so enjoyable as a whole We enjoyed: ✨ Crispy chicken waffle ✨ Magic egg & mushroom ✨ Bulgogi benedict ✨ French toast ✨ Prawn lava sandwich ✨ Black sesame latte ✨ Iced taro latte ✨ Iced black sesame latte ✨ Pistachio matcha strawberry ✨ Mont Blanc Can't fault a single dish. Everything was fresh, tasty and so beautifully presented. The crispy chicken waffle was fresh, crispy, juicy and loved the hot honey! The magic mushroom was fantastic, those deep fried boiled eggs were sensational! Soft inside and crispy crunchy outside I'd have to say the ultimate stand out was the bulgogi beef benedict - the tasty beef was so flavoursome, the creamy hollandaise and the heat form the curry sprinkle on top just all worked so beautifully A special shout out to the french toast too ..it was pan fried to perfection and the peanut butter added a lovely savoury note that balanced out the sweetness. Their range of drinks are fantastic. Something for everyone and always bringing out new ones to try! Their taro has always been a favourite of mine!

We have eaten here quite a few times always on the weekend for a leisurely brunch. The staff are always friendly and attentive, the food has never disappointed and with the choice of eating inside or eat it suits any weather. Parking is easy and convenient. Situated in the quiet back streets of Pt Adelaide makes it the perfect place to eat followed by a nice stroll.

Enjoyed a weekend out at Port Adelaide, and my friend recommended this place. They have a lovely outdoor space and it’s dog-friendly. For food, we tried: • Crispy Chicken Waffle (9/10) • Magic Egg & Mushroom (9.5/10) • Prawn Lava Sandwich (7.5/10) My friend had the Matcha Strawberry — a bit strong in taste for her. The sesame latte was a nice decaf option, and I got the Mont Blanc coffee. I’m not usually a coffee fan, but it tasted amazing. It wasn’t too crowded on the weekend, so there was plenty of space to relax and chat. The food came out quickly too. Right across the road is the Maritime Museum (ticket required, but great for kids), and you can take a walk to the red lighthouse. There’s also a Sunday market every week. Such a nice spot to hang out on the weekend!

The Lipson Cafe is an absolute gem in the heart of Port Adelaide. The menu is varied and interesting to say the least. I had a variation on scrambled eggs with a patty and 3 tempura prawns and have been back twice in the last week to introduce the LC to close friends. The coffee is equal if not better than any coffee in the Port. The staff either during the week or on the weekend are bubbly and superb at their task. It is a great Cafe, not a class Restaurant and the prices are extremely affordable 👌

Vasili's Taverna is known for serving the finest yiros in town. The secret lies in their expertly cooked charcoal-grilled meat made from top-quality lamb, generously portioned to satisfy any hunger. Their menu offers a variety of options, including mouthwatering pork yiros that is never dry and comes with fresh vegetables. The restaurant provides a comfortable dining experience with air conditioning to beat the heat while enjoying your hot meal.
Truly the best yiros in SA! Charcoal gave the meat so much better flavour . Been to a lot of yiros places all over SA and even in victoria, and this place tops it! Highly recommended.

Vasilis Taverna is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you can smell that incredible charcoal aroma that promises something special — and it delivers. The yiros are hands-down some of the best you’ll find anywhere: juicy, tender, and packed with that authentic Greek flavor you just can’t fake. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, like a proper family taverna where everyone is happy to see you. The staff are friendly, the portions are generous, and everything tastes fresh and made with love. If you’re craving real Greek food done right, Vasilis Taverna is the place to go. The best yiros ever in my life so far. Amazing flavors, generous portion and great service! The lamp was so soft, juicy with amazing charcoal flavour - veggies were very fresh as well as the pita bread. I don’t think I could find any better yiros at least in Australia. Best meal I’ve ever had in Adelaide, and I walked the whole day after having this for lunch and I didn’t even need dinner. I already miss this restaurant!

You tend to know what you’re getting when you head to a fast food chain such as Subway. And as expected, this particular Subway in Port Adelaide was about on par with what you can expect. The food was tasty, bread was fresh, ticked all the standard boxes. I did get an olive in my sub which must have fallen in by mistake (I hate olives) so that wasn’t cool but forgivable. I got the chicken classic and my partner got a turkey with double meat. Both subs had generous servings of toppings but it was kinda slapped together with no real love. And most disappointingly the young lady who served us was very sour. I get everyone has bad days, but it goes a long way to throw a smile. I was very close to ask her what was wrong because she genuinely seemed like she was hating life. So service only a 2/5 but overall I give this venue a 4/5. Not bad really.
Phillip J — Google review
So the other subway employees were well trained but there was one, I describe as a bigger female that was horribly trained, did not have personal skills, did not help when I asked which food they had there because there was not anything available at the time, she was the worst employee I’ve ever seen, if i was the manager I would sack her on the spot. I’m pretty sure I even saw her picking at the food and eating it. Worst subway ever!
Jax H — Google review
Alec at Subway Port Adelaide always provides the best service, never had a single issue and couldn’t be friendlier. Food is always fresh and store is always spotless. Best subway in Adelaide by a mile.

My partner has left a review before but we are mid meal and she demanded my phone to leave another. Made an ubereats order and the subs are absolutely banging! This location is the best Adelaide store.

After I ordered a wrap, I politely asked if it was possible to toast it. She broke the wrap, and she needed to re-make it. It was awful, a lot less of everything, no cheese, no carrot, 3 leaves of spinage. Can you give me a voucher for another wrap please?

Big Shed Brewing is a trendy microbrewery bar with an industrial atmosphere, offering a variety of craft ales and cider along with delicious pizza and burgers. Founded by Jason Harris and Craig Basford, the brewery has evolved from making homemade craft beer to producing award-winning brews. Their core range beers include The Californicator, The Jetty Jumper, The Non-Alcoholic Desi Driver, and The F-Yeah.
Visited on the weekend with a voucher for two people, a beer tasting paddle each and a platter to share. We left feeling very satisfied and even took some of the meal home with us! Certainly will recommend Big Shed Brewing to everyone I know.

Place is large, seats are uncomfortable hipster metal seats and not at all friendly to anyone with joint pain or disability. My food came first and my friends had to wait over an hour for theirs to come I was halfway finished when they started. If you have any sort of hearing problem avoid this place it’s concrete floor with live music so loud you cannot hear yourself think. I will be giving this place a miss in the future

This is a great brew pub with a wonderful selection of beer. Other beverages as well, but we haven’t tried them yet. There is a large outdoor seating area that is dog friendly. They have fun events, and great food including a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options.

Went lunch weekday, for me beers very average, and pizza’s no better. After waiting 25 minutes for pizza, I kind of knew something was a miss, as a properly cooked pizza takes 2-3 minutes to cook at 400c. So I suspect a conventional oven used, overcooked and dry, especially for $26 lots of room for improvement. Great place for a coke and game of pinball. Not for us, won’t be going back in a hurry.

Awesome atmosphere, great food, glad to see they have a zero alco beer option for those driving.

If you are going to have a special, make it special. If you are willing to serve up either stale or defrosted bread, then don't do a banh mi. Or do some research. You can do your own take on the fillings, to a point, but you can't stuff up the bread. Kitchen aside, the floor staff were on point for service. And the beers don't disappoint either.

Went and tried the Bottomless BBQ today and boy did I love it. It had a great section of items on it ranging from pulled pork, chicken wings, pork Rib, chilli con carne, corn, macaroni, sausage, bread and coleslaw. I was struggling to get through it buy if you can you can pick whatever items you liked the most from it and they will give you more for free. The beers are fantastic here as well, I had the paddle with 4 different beers. Service is great here and the team will make you feel right at home. They play the best urban/hip hop beats and have plenty of entertainment inside ranging from pool table to pinball machines.

When travelling I love to find new breweries. Big Shed Brewing is the latest. And it was an excellent find. A great space. Amazing range of beers. And the food that was going out looked excellent. Shame we live so far away. P.s. it would have been great to see a wider range of merch on display. I always love to pick up a new tshirt on my travels.

Experience the beauty and history of Port Rivers with Port River Cruises, offering a 90-minute dolphin cruise. Discover the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary, International Garden Island Bird Sanctuary, and the shipwreck graveyard. Witness the unique metropolitan dolphin pods known as Port River dolphins. The friendly booking booth staff provide excellent service and informative facts about the local area and shipwrecks. Enjoy a scenic day on the water even if dolphin sightings are not guaranteed.
Highly recommended to families with kids! We had a great time in this Port Adelaide Dolphin Cruise, spotted dolphins way out and back. The two crew gave informative and interesting insights about dolphins, maritime history, the harbour, the boats and the ship graveyard. They also handed out kids gift bags which my kid loved! We are Adelaide local, and never tried this before. I would encourage locals to experience this adventure and you will be surprised with how much fun you will gain! The weather was beautiful and we could sit on top of this cruise boat and enjoy the view.
Yumcha H — Google review
Had a nice cruise to see graveyard of boats and dolphins. Boat is clean and is easy to see out from multiple places. Managed to spot 3 dolphins at the end of the tour close to the mooring. We didn't manage to go to the Dolphin sanctuary due to the tides. Consider the tides when booking. The river is very ephemeral.

Amazing! Another must do if visiting Adelaide and surrounds! We did the Dolphin and Ships Graveyard Cruise. Perfect for all ages, the Captain even lets the children have a go at steering the boat! Knowledgeable Captain, with lots of interesting facts. We were lucky to see “Rocket” the resident Dolphin, she played near the boat for ages. And the Ships Graveyard is fantastic.

As we use reviews before bookings we wanted to share our experience: Nice Tour with Chris and Jacob, small group and interesting information on the dolphins and harbor. Even got lucky to see a few dolphins right up to the boat in wild environment (sanctuary only means protected but natural environment). Great experience!

We had 3:30 arvo cruise this July. Im telling you because you see how gorgeous the sunset gold ✨️ rays looks. And its perfect if you are into photography. Just a note we were lucky to see loads of dolphins 🐬 🐬 🐬

We went with our 4 year old toddler. Highly recommended and toddler friendly. Captain Jim was amazing. We learnt about history, dolphins and birds. We spotted around 15 dolphins , so close ones as well. Our toddler was given the opportunity to sit on captains chair and wear his cap. Also was given a goody bag to play and a lolli as a appreciation gift. For him adelaide is all about dolphins. He could not wait to share the photos and stories with his kinder friends.
Sanda R — Google review
Jim was absolutely fantastic! He really went all out to ensure that we got to see some dolphins! We didn’t have much luck at first, but he was determined and went overtime to help make our experience memorable! We ultimately saw 5-6 on our way back, it was amazing!

A very relaxing, informative river cruise up the Port Adelaide River and around Garden Island. Great seeing the Ships' Graveyard, the loading of grain ships and the restoration of other vessels. The captain of our tour was friendly, easy going and full of maritime knowledge. Water provided on board, as well as sunscreen. It was lovely standing out on the bow and the cabin with all glass windows provided great viewing opportunities. We even saw a dolphin which swam right past the boat.

Sights & Landmarks
Lighthouses
Nestled at the end of Commercial Road in Port Adelaide, the Port Adelaide Lighthouse is a charming 19th-century light station that has been beautifully restored and now serves as part of the South Australian Maritime Museum. Originally built in 1869, this historic landmark offers visitors a chance to ascend its narrow spiral staircase for breathtaking panoramic views of both the city and ocean.
The Port Adelaide Lighthouse, first lit in 1869 near the mouth of the Port River, has become an iconic symbol of South Australia’s maritime history. However, from the perspective of the Kaurna people—the Traditional Custodians of the Adelaide Plains—this structure - reflects a more complex story of cultural disruption and resilience. Before British colonisation, the area around the Port River, known to the Kaurna as Yertabulti (meaning “land of sleep or death”), was a place of abundance and deep spiritual significance. The estuarine environment provided a rich source of food, including fish, shellfish, and waterbirds, which the Kaurna people sustainably harvested. Local reeds and rushes were used to weave fishing nets and carry baskets - tools that were integral to daily life. The construction of the lighthouse, alongside the broader development of Port Adelaide as a shipping hub, dramatically altered this landscape. The clearing of mangroves and modification of the river’s natural flow disrupted the ecosystems the Kaurna had cared for over thousands of years. These changes signified not only environmental degradation but also the introduction of foreign systems and structures onto Kaurna Country, contributing to the ongoing displacement and marginalisation of Kaurna communities. Historical records show that Kaurna leaders such as Ityamai-itpina (also known as “King Rodney”), his wife Tangkaira, and their daughter Ivaritji—believed to be the last fluent speaker of the Kaurna language before its revival—lived and camped in the very area where the lighthouse now stands. Their presence is a poignant reminder of the deep and continuous connection the Kaurna have to this land. Today, renewed efforts are being made to recognise and preserve Kaurna heritage. Projects like Kaurna Voices and local reconciliation initiatives aim to share Kaurna stories and promote cultural understanding across the Adelaide region. These efforts are critical in ensuring that the voices of First Nations people are heard and respected. While the Port Adelaide Lighthouse remains a striking emblem of South Australia’s maritime past, it also stands on Kaurna land. It represents not only the challenges of colonisation but also the strength, endurance, and continuing cultural legacy of the Kaurna people.

A small light house with interesting history. It is probably better to visit at night as it's not particularly interesting after a couple of photos during the day. If visiting Port Adelaide it's probably worth a stop when visiting the other museums in the area. Also it appears that it's only possible to climb it on a specific tour which happens about once a month.

It’s a historic landmark. Not much to do but you can always walk around and enjoy the pretty views and maybe even take a few pictures. I walked here from the Sunday market and it was good

A lovely spot to visit at Port Adelaide. Climb the steep old spiral staircase and enjoy the great view. Take a moment to read the history and look at the historic lamp. This is a cheap enjoyable part of an outing at the Port. Well worth it.

The Roy Marten Dog Park is a large and well-maintained park that's perfect for dogs of all ages and abilities. There are separate zones for small and large dogs, as well as different equipment areas to keep them entertained. The scenery is beautiful, and the regulars here are all friendly and know each other by name.
Such a great park! Usually the small dogs miss out on the fun stuff, but here the little dogs are not forgotten! There's mounds to race up and leap off, sand pit to dig in, plants to sniff, tyres to go through. My pup found the ground quite slippery but he is used to grass and bark chips, also it was wet when we were there. There is undercover seating and a water fountain for people and dogs. Even on the rainy day we went there were plenty of dogs and friendly people. Obviously a popular park.

Let's call it medium size small dog park. I didn't like the big sandy gravel area much but was quiet and had a water bowl that could be emptied, a couple good bench seats with one sheltered.

The Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary, located just 20 minutes from downtown, is a protected coastal area where over 30 wild bottlenose dolphins reside. The sanctuary also houses a variety of other marine life and bird species. Visitors can explore the sanctuary by water through activities like paddleboarding and kayaking or observe the dolphins and birds from the mainland.
🌟 An Unforgettable Experience! We had such an amazing time on this kayak tour. Our guide was absolutely fantastic – knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel safe and relaxed the whole time. We were incredibly lucky to spot dolphins swimming nearby, which made the experience even more magical. Being out on the water, surrounded by raw, untouched nature, truly made me feel grateful and in awe. This tour is more than just paddling – it’s a chance to reconnect with the natural world in the most beautiful way. Highly recommended!

Absolutely lovely! The dolphins were out in force, the mangroves were imposing in an emotionally powerful way, and it felt natural in the middle of one of the most industrial areas I’ve ever seen
Gideon A — Google review
Highly recommending the 3hr tour. Fantastic team building activity with the better half, and great way to see the area from a new perspective. Only saw a small glimpse of 5he dolphins but sometimes that's how the cookie crumbles. There is plenty else that you can get from the tour such as local knowledge provided by the tour guide and adventure around some of the ship wrecks in the local area. Use the toilets before hand because there are no opportunities on the water. Plenty of parking.
Paloma P — Google review
The Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary is more than just a haven for dolphins—it's a place of extraordinary natural beauty and deep cultural significance. Nestled among mangroves and winding tidal creeks, this sanctuary offers a peaceful escape where you can witness resident bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat, alongside a rich diversity of bird and marine life. Equally important is its cultural and spiritual significance to the Kaurna People. The sanctuary lies within the traditional lands and waters of the Kaurna Nation, whose connection to Country stretches back tens of thousands of years. This area is part of the ancestral pathway of Tjirbruke, the revered Kaurna creation ancestor. According to Kaurna tradition, Tjirbruke carried the body of his nephew along the coast, mourning deeply and creating freshwater springs with his tears. These springs of sorrow are scattered along the coastline—including sites close to Garden Island—and remain sacred to this day. Visiting the Dolphin Sanctuary is a powerful reminder of the enduring relationship between First Nations Peoples and the land and waters of South Australia. It’s a place of reflection, learning, and deep respect—for nature and for ancient storylines that still shape this place today. Highly recommended for those seeking not only natural beauty but also an understanding of living culture.

My wife and I stumbled across this pub tonight after trying to find somewhere to get dinner. It was 8pm, so getting on a bit in time. The staff were absolutely AMAZING and so accommodating. They let us have our pet dog with us at an outside table. The service was brilliant. I had a beef schnitzel and gravy 10/10, my wife had a chicken schnitzel also 10/10 with the pepper sauce. The food is hot and the drinks cold. Prices are excellent as well. We will definitely be back to this pub. Thank you again lovely staff

Great location in PA. Nice pub with good variety on the menu. Plenty of seating option from indoor to outdoor. Food was decent… garlic bread starter was yum. I had the salmon which was nice. Maybe a bit too much soy in the salad. My mate got your standard schnitty with gravy and he said it was great and loved it. So I’d say overall that’s not bad. Service was adequate. Fella who welcomed us on arrival less so and wasn’t very welcoming. But the woman who took our orders and brought out the food was good. Atmosphere is good. Nice spot there on the water.

The bistro offers an elegant and comfortable setting for meal, while the bar provides plenty of opportunity to socialize with friends. The game room is perfect for couples looking to get away from it all, and the free breakfast offers everything you need start your day off right.
Honest review of this place hands down after 3 years living in Cairns and being very disappointed with the food quality. this is hands down the best Bistro food quality I’ve experienced so far in Australia. I want to stress I am a fussy eater and this was a gem of a meal. I recommend them not only for the footy experience but for the next level food. Wow is all I can say. The rooms are also comfortable with quality mattress and everything you need to be comfortable. The staff are very friendly and the sports bar was great.

Lia 10/10 Liz 1/10 🫣 Popped in to take advantage of a monthly special. After ordering mine and a friends, I expected to pay said price. I approached Liz to discuss to which a cold unpleasant face is looking at me and says it's through the app. I explained i was using the app to which her response was an abrupt answer of it's limited to 1 deal per day. Walked away thinking wow, that's how they treat customers!! My next interaction with Liz was putting keno on to which again couldn't pull a smile or even look happy to be there. All while eating during my transaction and telling her staff to not be on their phone in front of customers. My opinion is she could do with some customer service refreshed skills before business is affected beyond repair We organised to sign up my friend and order their deal, but unfortunately there was an issue on confirmation causing incorrect charge. Luckily young Lia was passing by which meant I avoided interaction with Liz. Lia was a breath of fresh air and her customer service and smile redeemed what was looking like a horrible lunch. Lia would be an asset to any company, I'd be investing in her. 10/10 Lia

Beautiful views anywhere you sit, probably the best views for an Adelaide restaurant! Food is well presented and tasty. We ordered pan fried gnocchi which was so flavourful but was let down with the lack of crisp in the gnocchi making it quite heavy. Antipasto platter of S&P squid, buttermilk fried chicken sliders, fish taco & chorizos....all excellent, especially the tacos!! Beer battered flake was really disappointing, fish really overcooked. Overall, definitely still be back.

The food was absolutely first class. The chef did a real first class meal. We had 180 people for a 70th on a Sunday lunch. Everyone was so happy with the taste and serving size. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Parking is very easy. Not to mention the view. Plenty to pick from the bar. Supplied non alcohol beer, which was pleasing to see. Haresh the manager helped us make the day a real perfect day. Advised us with menu and nothing was too much trouble for changes of guests right up to the last night. Definitely recommend the venue. Thanks again to CYCSA

We had the entree platter and a side of garden salad. Love the generous serving of the salad which was also nicely dressed. The squid was as expected and nothing to rave about. The haloumi chips was nicely grilled however we're not sure if the dukkah was a good complement. We were a bit disappointed with the arancini which needed more flavour (of any kind) and buttermilk chicken slider as it was a bit soggy and needed more mayonaise or freshness of some sort. The fish taco was more like a fish spring roll but it was suprisingly nicely fried, seasoned and was our favourite item of the day. Overall, we might be back even if its just for the view.
