The National Railway Museum in Port Adelaide is a must-visit for both train enthusiasts and families. It boasts an extensive collection of steam engines, carriages, and other railway memorabilia. Visitors can explore numerous fascinating exhibits and even take a ride on an old train for a small additional fee. The museum features over 100 exhibits representing various railway operators across Australia's major rail gauges.
We enjoyed this place very much — there’s so much to learn about railway history! There’s a great variety of steam and diesel locomotives on display, and everything is very well presented. One of the highlights was the miniature railway that runs around the museum every 30 minutes, which was a lot of fun, especially for kids. There’s also a train compartment open for visitors to explore, which gave us a real sense of how it would have felt to travel back in the day. Entrance fee is $19 per adult, toilets are available, and there’s plenty of parking on-site. Definitely a fantastic and educational day out for families!

I had a wonderful experience at the National Railway Museum. The gentlemen at the entrance were so welcoming and kind, and I could really feel their passion for railways and their enthusiasm for their work. Their friendliness made the visit even more special. Although I only had a short time before closing, I truly enjoyed exploring the museum, it’s fascinating and full of history. It’s a pity I’m leaving Adelaide tonight, but I’ll definitely come back to spend more time here in the future. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Adelaide!

2 weeks ago, we visited National Railway Museum in Port Adelaide on King’s Birthday holiday 2025. Not disappointed, after parked out the metered outdoor parking lot just opposite to the museum, we walked about only 1 minute to it. Although it was a national holiday, we didn’t need to wait then could paid for our entry fee (also enjoyed discount with my NSW senior discount card) 👍 There are plenty of historic trains, trackways and carriages to display. To end this visit, we took a free of charge riding on the mini railway, travelling the whole museum, indoors and outdoors displays. Interesting snapshots, our mini ran in parallel with another real modern light railway for nearly one minute 😂 Yes, I recommend it to everyone who is travelling to Adelaide.

Love coming here, lots of trains to see and get to ride in a little train as well around the Museum getting a glimpse at items we can't see when walking around. A real stroll into the past. Great for younger children all the way up to older ages. Lots of memories that are well kept and often interactive.
Karen H — Google review
Lovely museum, showcasing a large variety of old trains and providing a glimpse into the life of the past with many displays, some even interactive! Miniature trains also present on site which depart at the little railway station approximately every 30 minutes. Saw many kids hyped about riding the train 😊 Recommend for train enthusiasts of all ages to visit 🚂
Melisa A — Google review
Great museum with great staff! Very polite and made to feel welcome. Great exhibits with a fun miniature ride around the grounds. Well worth a visit if you’re in Adelaide!
Ethan S — Google review
Definitely worth a visit if you are into trains and the rich and splendid history of Australia’s industrial development which they had contributed to and been standing for. The story of Bub the stray cat is fascinating. The cabins and vintage locomotives on exhibit have been well maintained even after decades. Explore the adventure of tea and sugar trains that once carried essential procurements and brought joy and hope to railway workers and their families. Hop on the small yellow train for a ride accompanied by cranking noises and whistles. You’d forget how time has lapsed.

a must coming here if u like trains. not only u can see different trains, u can drive a train by paying a little fee and reserving a time slot via a lottery app . also there are tons of train simulators.

The South Australian Maritime Museum, situated in Port Adelaide just a short drive from central Adelaide, offers an immersive experience into maritime history. Housed in a restored stone warehouse, the museum features permanent collections and temporary exhibits that showcase nautical history through ships' figureheads, shipwreck relics, and intricate scale models including a walkable ketch. Visitors can explore the basement to see a bunk bed aboard an 1840s immigrant ship and learn about the challenging journeys to South Australia.
One of the best maritime museums I have visited around the nation. What stands out on the South Australian Maritime Museum for me is its focus on SA history, interactive science-works like activities upstairs and the ketch downstairs with compartments that are accessible. The entire place was just well maintained. My family and I truly enjoyed walking around and reading about SA history.
Siew T — Google review
Good museum illustrating and explaining the history of maritime life of South Australia, including the lives of the first peoples, explorers/navigators/cartographers/scientists, dolphins, windjammers, shipwrecks, immigrants/colonists and beach and port life. A restored ketch can be boarded and entered. Gift shop has educational books, souvenirs and jewellery. 4.5 stars. A few displays need repair, and the elevator is currently iffy. If you visit one of the four museums in Port Adelaide, you get discounted entry at the others: South Australia Aviation Museum, National Railway Museum and clipper ship "City of Adelaide."
Laura C — Google review
They have a whole ship inside you can explore and experience real history on! Lovely collection of figureheads from all abroad the world, two from my home province of Quebec. Made me smile and appreciate how far they have travelled and the people who must have travelled with them. We particularly enjoyed the dress up corner playing captain and cabin boy. The way the indigenous people’s history was incorporated was also very interesting and eye opening.
James E — Google review
The South Australian Maritime Museum provides a comprehensive yet entertaining experience to all. The museum spans across three main levels, with a main exhibit of a ketch named ‘Active II’. The side exhibits are also very informative, giving specialised insight into South Australia’s maritime involvement. These are quite well designed and interactive, giving a broad range of aspects, including colonial, modern, civilian and military perspectives. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, the South Australia Maritime Museum is a visit well worth its price.
Luke S — Google review
The museum is 3 levels . Stree level entry, a floor above and basement . There is a lift or stairs to get between floors. We did the tour in an hour but that was only because it was closing ( we just had to squeeze it in before our holiday ended and we were so glad we did ) . The displays are well set out and many are interactive . There is plenty of well written information . Great little gift shop as well Plus the added bonus of the staff being super friendly , lovely people .

The South Australian Aviation Museum, located in Port Adelaide, is a multi-hangar museum that showcases a diverse collection of historic planes and aviation artifacts. Housed in a WWII hangar, the museum features approximately 15 aircraft including an impressive F-111 bomber. Visitors can explore themed galleries filled with modern and heritage aircraft, engines, propellers, and rockets. Guided tours are available for those interested in delving deeper into the history of specific planes.
What a delightful journey through South Australia's skies awaits at the Aviation Museum! From the moment you step inside, you're embraced by the spirit of flight, surrounded by a fascinating collection of aircraft that whisper tales of innovation and adventure. The lovingly preserved planes, from vintage biplanes to powerful jets, offer a tangible connection to aviation history. What truly elevates this museum is the engaging way it presents its exhibits. You can almost feel the rumble of the engines and the rush of wind beneath the wings. The informative displays and passionate volunteers bring each aircraft's story to life, making it accessible and captivating for all ages. Whether you're an avid aviation enthusiast or simply curious, a visit to the SA Aviation Museum is a truly enriching and memorable experience. It's a place where the dreams of flight take tangible form.
Dave M — Google review
The South Australian Aviation Museum provides a unique and exciting insight to the history of all things aircraft. There are over 10 main aircraft, such as the AP-3C Orion, Fokker F27 Friendship, and F-18 Hornet, split across two hangars. There is also a surprising collection of both military and commercial aircraft. Knowledgeable and passionate staff are able to give extensive information about missiles, planes, helicopters and more. Many old books are also able to purchased from the shop for under $5! My only criticism is that some interactive exhibits are in need of maintenance, including the flight simulator. Ultimately, my visit to South Australian Aviation Museum has been gratifying and worthwhile.

An amazing experience. So many displays with so much history. Amazingly displayed and explained. For those avionic enthusiasts, plan on spending 2 - 3 hours. The maritime and railway museum are just as spectacular as well as the clipper ship experience.

A fantastic experience for aviation enthusiasts and families alike! The collection is impressive, with well-preserved aircraft and plenty of informative displays. definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Great place to understand Australia aviation history. Lots of old and new planes. Can go into some of the planes. Got cute kids push car for kids to ride. Museum is within walking distance of Port Dock metro station.

Visited here with my toddler and husband. We really enjoyed looking at all the aircraft and equipment displays. We very much enjoyed being able to go inside a bunch of the aircraft and learning about them. They have 2 big hangars with a good range of things to look at. Food and drinks not allowed in the museum but have a good area to sit between the hangars to have a snack break. They also have a good museum shop with toys, a wide range of model aeroplanes and souvenirs. Would definitely recommend this museum. You can also go to the other museums in the port area for a discounted price with min 2 months of the first visit.

Pirate Life Brewing is a renowned craft brewery in Adelaide that has made its mark on the city's craft beer scene. Founded by brewer mates Jack Cameron and Jared Red Proudfoot, the brewery offers an expansive industrial-style venue with over 20 beers on tap, along with pub grub and outdoor space. The brewery has come a long way from its origins in a rental property's shed in the Barossa Valley to its current large warehouse in Royal Park.
Great beer, Asian-inspired dishes, and an awesome vibe! I’ve been there countless times with family, friends, and even for company parties. Last night, they had a live event too—absolutely epic!

Great pub, I've been drinking the Pirates Life beer for ages, and it was my first time to pop in this place. Pan, the gentleman who was taking orders, was super friendly and very professional, I went for a beer platter with his selection and it was great. Staff are lovely and the food was good too. If you have kids, I guess they have some face paintings too, it was on Sunday I went in.

This place is perfect for a weekend hangout with family and friends. The beer is great, and grabbing the platter to try their selection turned out to be the perfect choice. The food is always tasty and never lets me down. There's a fun, lively atmosphere with something for everyone. The kids love the arcade games, and we all enjoy playing shuffleboard together. The service is always friendly.

I had an amazing experience at Pirate Life Brewery! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh and full of flavour. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and it’s a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The staff were friendly and attentive (shout out to Pan), which made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back – highly recommend if you’re in Port Adelaide!

Been meaning to check this place out for ages, and visiting from Victoria over Easter we got our chance and finally made it on Easter Monday. So glad they were open, great beers, games, tasty food, and plenty of good vibes. Worth the short train ride from the city on an otherwise dull day. The continental sandwich hit the spot and and MC x PL hazy, soooo good 😋 🍻 🎶

The brewery was buzzing but without feeling too hectic, and the DJ was playing some awesome tunes. Staff were attentive and friendly too. Great beers and good company for a lovely Saturday evening.

Went to take me home country event, really great day lots of music some big sounds from American musicians. Great venue, big bar plenty outside seating, ample food choices. Loved the salty Suzuki gin

Met the family there for a birthday celebration and set up a tab using a card they issued in exchange for my visa card. A few people on the table next to us got wind of the tab and started putting food and drinks on our tab. We checked the balance and it was up to $196, then 20 mins later it was up to over $300. If you're issued with a tab card, why are people able to use your tab without showing their own tab card? Just by mentioning you're on a certain table, shouldn't give you the right to access someone elses tab. Not happy Jan!!

Experience the beauty and history of Port Rivers with Port River Cruises, offering a 90-minute dolphin cruise. Discover the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary, International Garden Island Bird Sanctuary, and the shipwreck graveyard. Witness the unique metropolitan dolphin pods known as Port River dolphins. The friendly booking booth staff provide excellent service and informative facts about the local area and shipwrecks. Enjoy a scenic day on the water even if dolphin sightings are not guaranteed.
Highly recommended to families with kids! We had a great time in this Port Adelaide Dolphin Cruise, spotted dolphins way out and back. The two crew gave informative and interesting insights about dolphins, maritime history, the harbour, the boats and the ship graveyard. They also handed out kids gift bags which my kid loved! We are Adelaide local, and never tried this before. I would encourage locals to experience this adventure and you will be surprised with how much fun you will gain! The weather was beautiful and we could sit on top of this cruise boat and enjoy the view.
Yumcha H — Google review
Had a nice cruise to see graveyard of boats and dolphins. Boat is clean and is easy to see out from multiple places. Managed to spot 3 dolphins at the end of the tour close to the mooring. We didn't manage to go to the Dolphin sanctuary due to the tides. Consider the tides when booking. The river is very ephemeral.
Claire R — Google review
Amazing! Another must do if visiting Adelaide and surrounds! We did the Dolphin and Ships Graveyard Cruise. Perfect for all ages, the Captain even lets the children have a go at steering the boat! Knowledgeable Captain, with lots of interesting facts. We were lucky to see “Rocket” the resident Dolphin, she played near the boat for ages. And the Ships Graveyard is fantastic.
Chelle C — Google review
As we use reviews before bookings we wanted to share our experience: Nice Tour with Chris and Jacob, small group and interesting information on the dolphins and harbor. Even got lucky to see a few dolphins right up to the boat in wild environment (sanctuary only means protected but natural environment). Great experience!
Katharina B — Google review
We had 3:30 arvo cruise this July. Im telling you because you see how gorgeous the sunset gold ✨️ rays looks. And its perfect if you are into photography. Just a note we were lucky to see loads of dolphins 🐬 🐬 🐬
Lhakpa S — Google review
We went with our 4 year old toddler. Highly recommended and toddler friendly. Captain Jim was amazing. We learnt about history, dolphins and birds. We spotted around 15 dolphins , so close ones as well. Our toddler was given the opportunity to sit on captains chair and wear his cap. Also was given a goody bag to play and a lolli as a appreciation gift. For him adelaide is all about dolphins. He could not wait to share the photos and stories with his kinder friends.
Sanda R — Google review
Jim was absolutely fantastic! He really went all out to ensure that we got to see some dolphins! We didn’t have much luck at first, but he was determined and went overtime to help make our experience memorable! We ultimately saw 5-6 on our way back, it was amazing!
Ching C — Google review
A very relaxing, informative river cruise up the Port Adelaide River and around Garden Island. Great seeing the Ships' Graveyard, the loading of grain ships and the restoration of other vessels. The captain of our tour was friendly, easy going and full of maritime knowledge. Water provided on board, as well as sunscreen. It was lovely standing out on the bow and the cabin with all glass windows provided great viewing opportunities. We even saw a dolphin which swam right past the boat.

Garden Island Ships' Graveyard, located in South Australia, offers a unique glimpse into maritime history. The site features 25 abandoned vessels, including barges, ferries, sailing ships and steamers, submerged in the shallow waters of Port Adelaide between 1909 and 1945. Visitors can explore the shipwrecks and enjoy encounters with dolphins while navigating through the wetlands on kayak or SUP boards available for hire.
It a place of old age, with shipwrecks and old glass bottles Older then 100 or more. I'll go back for shore to look some more at Garden island
James H — Google review
Seems very distant from the city almost slightly surreal. Surrounded my lush mangroves, a light adventure walk to truly appreciate its historic significance. Very quiet, next visit i wouldn't mind seeing it on the water. Great location to Kayak, brilliant photos. Don't mind driving out there to sit and eat my lunch. Great spot.
Tish C — Google review
Nearly missed it (most likely viewed best by boat) . Was cool to see - wish there was a walk way (viewing platform ) . Visible on the bridge as you you drive over - if you’re looking for it closely .
Kate S — Google review
Interesting place to see the shipwrecks, but the weather wasn’t good when I visited. The ground was slippery and difficult to walk.
Rose N — Google review
No doubt best viewed from the water, as the track in in extremely muddy, to the point you're shoes are coming off on the drive home. Some interesting wrecks. A shame about the rubbish.
Tobias C — Google review
For a somewhat overcast day this boat trip into the grave yard was breathtaking the skill of the port river cruise operation was extremely professional, I would highly recommend there cruise , unfortunately not a lot of dolphin activity but for cool wet day I wouldn't be so active myself 😉😎
Ross G — Google review
Visit this landmark during low tide so you can walk along the muddy shore to get to the shipwreck for some photos. It’s cool to see these abandoned ships get reclaimed by nature just a stone throws away from the city.
TheFluffyVillain — Google review
While you can see some of the ships from the bridge, we saw there was a track near by that leads to the ships. It has a fence across half the track, so what they are trying to achieve with that. The walk is through mangroves, and the tide made the walk a little boggy, but it's an easy walk.

The Clipper Ship City of Adelaide, built in 1864, is the oldest surviving clipper ship in the world. It has a rich history, having made numerous trips between England and South Australia, with many Australians able to trace their ancestry back to this famous vessel. The ship is now located at Port Adelaide's Dock 2 and offers self-guided tours for visitors. These tours provide insights into the social history of both passengers and crew during the late 19th century.
A nice place to learn about the history of the ship. The staff is very friendly and explained everything very well while shared a lot of interesting details. All the old photos are beautifully exhibited and give a real glimpse into the past. We visited on a Saturday during a long weekend, but there wasn’t much of a crowd, which made the experience very relaxing. Entry ticket price for one person is $20, $30 for a couple, and children under 16 can enter for free. Parking space is also available nearby, which was very convenient. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Was not expecting this to be such an interesting place to visit. It has such an important place in South Australia’s history which makes it more important for all the locals to visit. It’s great to get a tour through the ship so you can see how they travelled from one side of the world to the other.

The Clipper Ship City of Adelaide provides an authentic and unique insight into the history of Adelaide. The guided tours by dedicated staff truly make this experience worthwhile through the sharing of countless stories and explanation of the extensive history of the ship. Even though construction works are still ongoing for the restoration of the ship, Almost all sections are accessible. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, while entry fees are low. Ultimately, my visit to Clipper Ship City of Adelaide definitely did not disappoint.

If you're interested in maritime history or simply seeking a unique and engaging experience in Port Adelaide, a visit to the Clipper Ship is highly recommended. Our guided tour, led by the knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteer John, was a highlight. He brought the ship's history to life with fascinating details about its construction, voyages, and the daily lives of crew and passengers. Walking the decks and exploring the various parts of the ship truly conveyed its scale and rich history. The ship impressively showcases its diverse past, having served as a floating quarantine, coal/lumber transport, museum, passenger boat, and navy club, complete with numerous informative artifacts. The dedication of the volunteers in preserving and sharing this important piece of maritime history is commendable.

We didn't expect very much as the ship has been sunk 3 times ... How wrong we were ! It's an eyeopener ..from the original frame and wood work to the re-creation work being done . Well worth the visit .

Lighthouses
Nestled at the end of Commercial Road in Port Adelaide, the Port Adelaide Lighthouse is a charming 19th-century light station that has been beautifully restored and now serves as part of the South Australian Maritime Museum. Originally built in 1869, this historic landmark offers visitors a chance to ascend its narrow spiral staircase for breathtaking panoramic views of both the city and ocean.
The Port Adelaide Lighthouse, first lit in 1869 near the mouth of the Port River, has become an iconic symbol of South Australia’s maritime history. However, from the perspective of the Kaurna people—the Traditional Custodians of the Adelaide Plains—this structure - reflects a more complex story of cultural disruption and resilience. Before British colonisation, the area around the Port River, known to the Kaurna as Yertabulti (meaning “land of sleep or death”), was a place of abundance and deep spiritual significance. The estuarine environment provided a rich source of food, including fish, shellfish, and waterbirds, which the Kaurna people sustainably harvested. Local reeds and rushes were used to weave fishing nets and carry baskets - tools that were integral to daily life. The construction of the lighthouse, alongside the broader development of Port Adelaide as a shipping hub, dramatically altered this landscape. The clearing of mangroves and modification of the river’s natural flow disrupted the ecosystems the Kaurna had cared for over thousands of years. These changes signified not only environmental degradation but also the introduction of foreign systems and structures onto Kaurna Country, contributing to the ongoing displacement and marginalisation of Kaurna communities. Historical records show that Kaurna leaders such as Ityamai-itpina (also known as “King Rodney”), his wife Tangkaira, and their daughter Ivaritji—believed to be the last fluent speaker of the Kaurna language before its revival—lived and camped in the very area where the lighthouse now stands. Their presence is a poignant reminder of the deep and continuous connection the Kaurna have to this land. Today, renewed efforts are being made to recognise and preserve Kaurna heritage. Projects like Kaurna Voices and local reconciliation initiatives aim to share Kaurna stories and promote cultural understanding across the Adelaide region. These efforts are critical in ensuring that the voices of First Nations people are heard and respected. While the Port Adelaide Lighthouse remains a striking emblem of South Australia’s maritime past, it also stands on Kaurna land. It represents not only the challenges of colonisation but also the strength, endurance, and continuing cultural legacy of the Kaurna people.

A small light house with interesting history. It is probably better to visit at night as it's not particularly interesting after a couple of photos during the day. If visiting Port Adelaide it's probably worth a stop when visiting the other museums in the area. Also it appears that it's only possible to climb it on a specific tour which happens about once a month.

It’s a historic landmark. Not much to do but you can always walk around and enjoy the pretty views and maybe even take a few pictures. I walked here from the Sunday market and it was good

A lovely spot to visit at Port Adelaide. Climb the steep old spiral staircase and enjoy the great view. Take a moment to read the history and look at the historic lamp. This is a cheap enjoyable part of an outing at the Port. Well worth it.

Located in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, Coopers Brewery is a renowned family-owned brewery with a rich history dating back to 1862. The brewery offers an extensive range of craft beers, including popular options like Half Moon Pale Ale and Old Ones IPA. Emphasizing sustainability, they grow and harvest their own produce on site while also sourcing from local ethical suppliers when needed.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Coopers Brewery, from the time we got there-the coffee was great and service welcoming, the tour was very informative and the lunch was delicious. All of the Coopers people were engaging and happy to chat. Have recommended to family and friends already 😊

Spacious and aesthetically appealing decor and designed. The restaurant overlooks the beautiful green lawn, very relaxing spot to enjoy a few beers. The menu offers a good variety of choices, well presented. Friendly staff. Recommend to sample a tasting paddle and a platter or share plates. Merchandise room and tasting event room. The museum displays and interactive information displays are very informative. Tours available to book in or special events. Ample parking, also under cover.
Janet’s J — Google review
Great spot for afternoon drinks. The food is a bit pricey and leans fancy for a brewery, but there’s enough variety. The tour is worth it, very informative, though two hours is a lot for beginners and the brewery wasn’t in operation, so difficult to imagine. A shorter version with tastings would be ideal. The tasting room at the end is a great way to wrap up, especially for groups. The gallery to the left of the dining room was overlooked but worth checking out too. Cool to see how far Coopers has come and the innovation behind it. Recommend Botanic Ale🍺

We had a wonderful tour and taste at Coopers brewery yesterday! After our tasting we stayed and had a delicious lunch, highly recommend the fish and chips! Such an amazing time and well worth the visit. Great staff and customer service! Karen & Rob visiting from Ontario, Canada.

Excellent venue. Lovely service and friendly tour guides and management. Can go for lunch, coffee, a meal, and tastings. The tour itself is excellent however, is drawn out and a lot of standing around and waiting. Needs to be a continuous walk through, with time to focus on the tasting at the end. Scheduled to finish within 90 mins including tasting. We didn’t start our tasting until an hour and 15 mins which meant by 2 hours we had to leave due to other plans.

This brewery experience was par excellence. Best experience in Adelaide for our family, of 9 from Perth. Beers were great & food even better. Octopus & pizzas out of this world. Thank you friendly staff.

I’ve loved Coopers Sparkling Ale since—well—before I probably should have had an opinion on such things. Like its bold and generous flavour (with fruity and floral characters) that displays a distinctive malty palate, firm hop bitterness, topped off with a clean finish. So it was a real treat to visit Coopers for a brew tour behind the scenes at Regency Park. Starting off the tour with 21 other brew enthusiasts at the recently-opened taproom, we went in-depth into the history of Coopers (the last family-owned brewery of its scale in Australia!), the Regency Park site (did you know it’s got its own gas power turbine?), malting, brewing and packaging. The tour conveniently finished up back at the taproom with a tasting paddle and in perfectly proximity to the restaurant for lunch! Even if you’re only marginally interested in the brewing process, this tour is worth your time.
Richard — Google review
Had the most brilliant tour today! Chelsea and Liam were fantastic, with a really great bank of knowledge and explanation of all the different processes. Everyone got a headset so you could hear Chelsea even when you were in a loud room, which was brilliant. And the tasting after was very generous, we tried so many beers! It was particularly exciting to try some of the smaller brews they’re working on but aren’t going to be offering outside of the tours. At $45 each, it was a great way to spend the day and I’d definitely recommend it to everyone visiting Adelaide!

The Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary, located just 20 minutes from downtown, is a protected coastal area where over 30 wild bottlenose dolphins reside. The sanctuary also houses a variety of other marine life and bird species. Visitors can explore the sanctuary by water through activities like paddleboarding and kayaking or observe the dolphins and birds from the mainland.
🌟 An Unforgettable Experience! We had such an amazing time on this kayak tour. Our guide was absolutely fantastic – knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel safe and relaxed the whole time. We were incredibly lucky to spot dolphins swimming nearby, which made the experience even more magical. Being out on the water, surrounded by raw, untouched nature, truly made me feel grateful and in awe. This tour is more than just paddling – it’s a chance to reconnect with the natural world in the most beautiful way. Highly recommended!

Absolutely lovely! The dolphins were out in force, the mangroves were imposing in an emotionally powerful way, and it felt natural in the middle of one of the most industrial areas I’ve ever seen
Gideon A — Google review
Sadly it was too windy to see any dolphins but still a lovely walk along the pier . Did see a turtle and some fish . Toilets were extremely clean and well maintained .
Kerri W — Google review
Highly recommending the 3hr tour. Fantastic team building activity with the better half, and great way to see the area from a new perspective. Only saw a small glimpse of 5he dolphins but sometimes that's how the cookie crumbles. There is plenty else that you can get from the tour such as local knowledge provided by the tour guide and adventure around some of the ship wrecks in the local area. Use the toilets before hand because there are no opportunities on the water. Plenty of parking.
Paloma P — Google review
Views are stunning with seabirds, mangroves and at least 15 dolphins permanently inhabiting this place. You may bring your own kayak as the water is open to public.

We had a blast during our time in the dolphin sanctuary. It was a magical day as we saw dolphins the whole time we were kayaking. The weather was perfect and our group was a fun bunch. The playground is fully fenced and visually appealing with a color scheme that ties in with the nearby Hart mill. It also features BBQ facilities and parking nearby. Additionally, there are seating benches within the fenced area and picnic tables outside it with a BBQ facility.
Hart’s Mill Playground is a fantastic spot for families, offering a safe and fully fenced area with plenty of activities for kids of all ages. There’s a great mix of equipment, from a toddler-friendly sandpit to exciting features for older children like a flying fox, rope climb, hamster wheel, and a steep metal slide. The playground has a combination of hard ground and sand, with ample grass and seating around. Inside the fenced area, there are a few benches, while picnic tables and BBQ facilities are available just outside. A lovely touch is the free library box, perfect for those who prefer a quiet moment with a book. A coffee shop is conveniently close by, but a downside is the lack of nearby public toilets. Also, due to its location, it can get quite windy at times. Parking is available, making access easy for families. Overall, it’s a great place for a fun day out with kids.

There is an awesome children's playground, the Hart's Mill Playground, just at the corner of the beautiful Port Adelaide River. They have a funny hamster wheel and two spinners that I have never seen in Australia. Plus the slide, zipping flying, spinning wheel, climbing frame, swings and an interactive sand station etc. If you come to visit Port Adelaide with your little kids, this playground is definitely a must-visit. Your little children must love it a lot and can easily spend 2 hours here. There are BBQ stoves and covered seating bench with tables just next to the playground. A public toilet is available at the end of Mundy St., which is just 2 minutes walk from the playground.

Place is large, seats are uncomfortable hipster metal seats and not at all friendly to anyone with joint pain or disability. My food came first and my friends had to wait over an hour for theirs to come I was halfway finished when they started. This is a great brew pub with a wonderful selection of beer. Other beverages as well, but we haven’t tried them yet. There is a large outdoor seating area that is dog friendly. They have fun events, and great food including a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options.
Jeff — Google review
Went lunch weekday, for me beers very average, and pizza’s no better. After waiting 25 minutes for pizza, I kind of knew something was a miss, as a properly cooked pizza takes 2-3 minutes to cook at 400c. So I suspect a conventional oven used, overcooked and dry, especially for $26 lots of room for improvement. Great place for a coke and game of pinball. Not for us, won’t be going back in a hurry.

If you are going to have a special, make it special. If you are willing to serve up either stale or defrosted bread, then don't do a banh mi. Or do some research. You can do your own take on the fillings, to a point, but you can't stuff up the bread. Kitchen aside, the floor staff were on point for service. And the beers don't disappoint either.

Went and tried the Bottomless BBQ today and boy did I love it. It had a great section of items on it ranging from pulled pork, chicken wings, pork Rib, chilli con carne, corn, macaroni, sausage, bread and coleslaw. I was struggling to get through it buy if you can you can pick whatever items you liked the most from it and they will give you more for free. The beers are fantastic here as well, I had the paddle with 4 different beers. Service is great here and the team will make you feel right at home. They play the best urban/hip hop beats and have plenty of entertainment inside ranging from pool table to pinball machines.

Went in to find mica powder. Whilst the lovely man serving wasn't completely sure what I needed, he really went out of the way to assist me. St Mary's Catholic Church is a hidden gem that beautifully blends history, architecture, and community spirit. After years of curiosity, I finally stepped inside this charming old church during a lunch break and was greeted by the serene atmosphere of a mass led by an experienced priest. The stunning statue of Mother Mary caught my eye, adding to the church's allure.
It was a long time that I wanted to go to this church but the door was always closed. Accidentally I walked to the bank from a small street behind this church at my lunch break yesterday. I heard a mass and saw the entrance door to this church so decided to join the mass. This is a simple old beautiful church. I admired the beautiful mother Mary statue in this church. The mass was delivered good by a senior priest. Definitely I will come back to join the mass here. 😍💒

A beautiful place not only for Mass and prayers but the lovely history and architecture. St Mary of the Cross, got off her boat at the port, just down a dirt road from the Church. She attended that Friday's Midday Mass. St. Mary of the Cross later went on to build the first school room. This old school room still stands to the very left of Church today. That entire school room is Heritage Listed. The Church is sign marked as 95/1 and St Mary of the Cross' school room is listed as 95/2 even though at time of posting this, I can guarantee that it is all on ONE Title. The Local Council should be ashamed from changing the original 95 Dale St to the current numbering of Unit 1 and Unit 2 but to enforce that both are valued separately when they're not seperate, as the roof line is of one building at the back and sides but with the Local Council demanding payment for Council Rates. The Port Council is just out for money and more money! #PortAdelaide/EnfieldCouncilSux

Such a great park! Usually the small dogs miss out on the fun stuff, but here the little dogs are not forgotten! There's mounds to race up and leap off, sand pit to dig in, plants to sniff, tyres to go through. My pup found the ground quite slippery but he is used to grass and bark chips, also it was wet when we were there. There is undercover seating and a water fountain for people and dogs. Even on the rainy day we went there were plenty of dogs and friendly people. Obviously a popular park.

The store is well set out and easy to navigate, making it an ideal place to spend some time. It has been enjoyed by both locals and visitors for over two years, and it will definitely be on your list of places to visit in Adelaide.
The Lady owner is slightly unfriendly but that slight issue is nothing compared to their book collection. Gems can be found. Prices are reasonable but the selection is excellent. I would highly recommend book lovers to visit the gold mine in the bottom floor. Very good shop.

Love this store. I purchased a cute little woollen hat that gives off conductor/1800s vibe. However, the reason I'm giving three stars is because of the price. Props to the lady for being understanding. I paid $22 which I don't really know if it's reasonable or not and asked the lowest, to which she said $18. But anyway, it said $4 on the tag under the hat and it still is on the hat, but I just didn't see the other white tag she showed me when I did purchase for it. How did the $4 tag get on the hat? No idea. I will come back anyhow if I'm looking for some things.

Lots of interesting stalls. Good customer service and reasonable prices. Greeted by a lovely resident dog, he was very sweet.

The Port Adelaide Emporium is a great Antique and Collectible shop to visit. They have a good variety of items! The proprietor is a very friendly and helpful lady. Watch out though I was accidently locked in her shop! There are also if interested many coffee shops close by to visit before or afterwards visiting the Antique Centre.

We have been searching for a drop leaf dining table, found one here in excellent condition and negotiated a great price. They even helped me load it into the car.

Really interesting place. Pretty reasonable prices

I was able to purchase a ring via lay by. The lay by time was 6 months. Following one personal issue after another, it almost took me 12 months. The owner never once made it an issue, when I was able to make payment I did and not once did I feel like a person who couldn't pay a lay by on time. Since then I have made other purchases on lay by, without any hiccups my end. Very professional, warm and welcoming. I love going there.😊

Not antiques more like garage sale type of things. Was a waste of time. Sounds like the owner can't take an honest opinion. I have a varied antique collection myself ranging in years from 1870s -1930s. From antique victorian oil lamps victorian silver perfume bottles antique telephones.

Lartelare Park is a hidden gem that truly comes alive at sunset, showcasing the charming old mill in a warm glow. The serene atmosphere and quiet neighborhood make it an ideal spot for relaxation. With nearby restaurants, you can easily grab a bite or sip on something refreshing after exploring the picturesque scenery filled with boats, birds, and bridges. While enjoying this cultural haven adorned with historical plaques and beautifully landscaped native plants, you'll appreciate the stories they tell about the land's heritage.
Loved this area, especially Wodli.

We love coming here at sunset. They lighting really puts the old mill on display. The atmosphere pleasant and the neighborhood is quiet There are restaurants nearby should you find the need to go and eat something or have a drink. But do bring a camera and enjoy the scenery made up of boats, birds, bridges and brickwork all surrounded by water. It would be nice to have some picnic facilities like table and bench and BBQ area to enjoy closer to the water.

Nice flat walk next to the water.Didnt see any dolphins but kept walking to the ship graveyard and back. There is a toilet near Portabellos Restaurant and drinking fountains
Sally M — Google review
Neat small park limited parking has a good view of the water way and boat moorings, can enjoy a good walk
Our G — Google review
Not enough is done to maintain what is in fact a nice walking trail along the port and small park. A nice secluded area, which is probably forgotten by the council, but nothing really invites you to stay longer. Shame as the walking around the area and port is very interesting.
Andrew A — Google review
Such a beautiful cultural experience to share with my visitor from France. The historical plaques and mosaic picnic tables.. the monuments that hold homage to the people that came before. Brilliantly landscaped natives that tell the story of the land. Since I was there a few weeks ago you can see they're constantly working on it. Just lovely experience for my son too.

Nice little park. The Corporate Cup start and finish line is here from August to November. Great seeing people using the path. It increases the vibrancy of the area. Very nice sunrises over the Hart Mill.

Never knew the significance of this area... I just thought a bunch of Pennywise(s) were about, what with all the balloons and all?!?
Randy W — Google review
It's ok, nice little area dedicated to those lost at work. The plaque sits centre to a small circle with a bench and a path with 4 balloon-like sculptures. To either side of that is tables under shade with nearby bin so nice spot to sit. Walkways lead to Bonython Park or Mary Lee Park/Bowden Park & Courts.
Aerwyn — Google review
i absolutely adored this place, the lush greenery paired with balloons (hate the black one tho, i hate then) would visit again, lots of old men tho my kids didnt feel safe
PUDL G — Google review
A nice quiet and tranquil place to takea moment to reflect and relax. Of you need a moment out of your day, this place is a good spot to go and sit for a few minutes. The memorial itself, is well planned and maintained.

Fed the ducks, had a play on the playground & had a bite to eat with Aunty Betty. Lovely place with BBQ facilities, toilets & has lots of trees for ample shady sots
Tracey J — Google review
Another delightful park made so much better as part of the Grange Lakes. There are 2 playgrounds, a smaller one near the toilets. Off street carparks, Bbq, picnic tables and Trees. But the main feature is the Lakes, this stormwater management system really brings nature to the park. Once the rains come and the water levels rise, it must be even better. I really enjoyed walking around Kirkcaldy
Wj — Google review
Very nice place. It could even better it to have some lightining at the bbq area and plugs. Apart from that it's a very nice place.
Matias A — Google review
Lovely park picturesque, nice playgrounds, shelter areas, bbq, nice lil hidden away gem 🙂
Nigel H — Google review
Lovely park with a tiny tots and a medium sized kids playground. The former with public toilets. Grandies loved the pathway through the reserve for riding their scooters and watching the ducks from the bridge over the original, (Before West Lakes... Yes I'm that old!), Port Adelaide swamp feeder creek. Plenty of parking, some under shade of the old gum trees.
Harvey D — Google review
Lovely park. With playground, seating, shade, BBQ , plenty of parking
Judy M — Google review
Nice Park. Couple of areas for the kids. There is a creek so make sure the kids are in view at all times. You can feed ducks here, so bring some bread or something you can feed them with. Toilets available but down one end. Barbeques and entertainment areas and seating also available with lots of shade.

Great for dog and people walking shoot hoops netball with nets bbq Im always there every day 😀
Terry G — Google review
Really disappointed that with all the space available, a quarter of a basketball court was built. Not even enough space for a 3 on 3 game. Also, the sprinklers came on at 6pm and drenched the court!!! Hopefully this will be addressed by the grounds keepers so the court isn't wet. And with 2+ hours of daylight left, it shouldn't interfere with play on the newly built facilities. The thought was there, but the plan was very poorly executed.
Simon W — Google review
Good playground most of equipment only good for older kids 5yrs +. There is a track that goes in a circle all the way around the park in a circle which is great for rollerblading or kids bike riding without going near the road.
Alex L — Google review
If your dog has hairy paws, you will get hundreds of burrs stuck in its hair. NOT recommended, unless you stay on the path

What an interesting area! A place for 3 que memorial and also junkies of all kinds welcome! What to do there: Watch junkies go around and about their usual routines.

I usually go here to workout however they don't have much exercise options so I spend most time running around the field. There is a bench press and a water dispenser for after workout and kids play area. I only want them to add a pulls up bar.

What a wonderful spot for families and coffee lovers alike! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with great coffee! The staff are friendly and accommodating, making it an ideal venue for children to play and adults to socialize. The in-house playground is clean, well-maintained, and a joy to behold, with little ones laughing and having a blast while adults can connect and chat. It's a perfect spot to relax and enjoy quality time with loved ones. Kudos to the team at Green Monkeys for creating such a fantastic space!
