Dubbo offers a classic inland Australian experience, anchored by Taronga Western Plains Zoo, where animals roam in large open-range exhibits you can explore by car, bike or on foot. The city sits on the Macquarie River and features heritage architecture, including the Old Dubbo Gaol, which gives insight into 19th-century prison life. Nearby cultural attractions highlight Wiradjuri history and regional art, while surrounding countryside and walking trails appeal to visitors looking for an easy base for exploring the central west of New South Wales.
With favorites like Elston Park, Taronga Western Plains Zoo, and NRMA Dubbo Holiday Park, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant and Pizza Hut so you can get the best taste of Dubbo while you’re here. Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Taronga Western Plains Zoo, established in 1977, is a 300-hectare open-range sanctuary featuring over 4,000 rare and endangered animals from around the world. Families can embark on a zoofari trip by hiring bicycles or Mini Mokes to explore the 6km circular track. The zoo's large enclosures mimic natural habitats for its over 700 animals. Visitors can't miss the Lion Pride Lands Exhibit and should consider driving through the zoo, especially during summer.
We drove our own car around the park which was very convenient, saved the legs of the kids y being able to just drive through at our own pace and have our car with us with snacks etc. The exhibits are very good, very easy to see animals, and we were very impressed with how much space the animals have to themselves. There are very well placed fences, making some areas seem like there is no fan e at all, but your completely safe at all times. I was particularly impressed with the Galapagos Tortosis, I'd never seen them before, same with the little honey eater birds. The hospital was impressive as was the expansion e platypus area. Only down side was the staff was not very friendly. Maybe they were all having a bad day, especially in the gift shop. It was a long weekend after all. But well worth the visit.

We came out to Dubbo in the July School holidays to visit the zoo with the kids. We’ve talked about it for a number of years and finally booked it in. We were considering staying at the zoo but you would need to remortgage the house to afford it so we choose much more affordable accommodation in town. We were considering booking the carts to get around as one of our kids has a disability and can’t ride a bike but they were all booked out for our visit. This actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise as you can easily navigate the park if you have your own car and save some cash on the carts. It was super easy to ride around the loop on the bikes with the other kids and only one spot where we had to drop the gears to push up the hill. Was good being able to ride the bikes up to each enclosure and plenty of bike racks throughout the park to leave the bikes. We did the safari adventure but was a bit disappointed this was an additional cost on top of the park entry, surely this should be included, just feels like something you shouldn’t have to pay extra for. Overall the enclosures are great with heaps of room for the animals to roam but like most zoos the animals do look a bit bored and need some action. All the herding animals are too relaxed as there is no predator threats and the predators just chilling as they don’t have to hunt anymore. I’m sure punters would pay good money to see the animals in a more real world environment. Imagine seeing the big cats in action stalking their pray, now that would bring in the crowds. Anyways, I’ll just saviour the time I got to see a white lion take down a water hen in its enclosure many years ago at a different zoo……priceless. Overall an enjoyable day out with the kids.

We have just enjoyed a completely magical day at Dubbo Zoo. We booked a night at Zoofari Lodge. The day we spend leisurely cruising round the zoo in our car (we would have hired a “golf cart” but it was quite hot and very windy so we settled for aircon comfort). We did two circuits of the 5km round trip and saw pretty much all that we could have hoped for. Up close and personal with lions giraffes and a whole host of other animals. We checked into our lodge at two pm and sat on our balcony watching zebras rhinos and giraffes wander past as they grazed the food which had been left for them in front of our rooms. We were then taken to hand feed giraffes, and then onto a private after hours tour of the zoo after it was closed to public. Our guide Hallie was really informative, giving us a great commentary as well as answering all of our questions, and there were many! What a great experience, one we hope to repeat. And we still have another day to roam the zoo tomorrow. Andy and Gabs.

This is a great zoo with a wonderful variety of animals. I'd love if there were more carts available for hire as we arrived at time of opening and they were all sold out. It's a big day and by the time you get past the waterhole it's exhausting to think about getting out of the car....once again! But overall a wonderful day.
Kristy S — Google review
Quite disappointed with my visit. Most of the animals looked tired and not very active — the only tiger seemed depressed, pacing back and forth in the same spot. The rhino was just laying down the whole time, looking quite lifeless and uninterested. Didn’t see any platypus at all, even though there’s a Platypus HQ. I stayed around the viewing deck and pond area for about 15 minutes, trying to spot one under the trunks, branches, or hiding spots — but not a single platypus in sight. There was only one siamang, and a few Tasmanian devils, but they were really far away because of the enclosure and fencing setup — it kept people at too much of a distance to see clearly. The lions were in a group, and one male lion seemed alert and aware of his surroundings, which was nice to see. The meerkats were plenty, but honestly, it felt quite repetitive since you pass by several meerkat viewing points along the way. There was only one small bird enclosure with a honeyeater and a few other birds. The place overall looked a bit run down, and most of the big animals were just too far to enjoy. The best part was the Galapagos giant tortoises — there were a few of them, we could view them up close, and they seemed well cared for. The koalas were also lovely; I managed to spot three of them resting. Overall, the $50 entry fee really didn’t feel worth it. Melbourne Zoo offered a much better experience for the price. Also, make sure to buy tickets beforehand if you want to feed the giraffes, as they sell out quickly and can’t be purchased on the spot.

We had a great time at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. You can drive your own car through the zoo for free, hire a bike (not sure how much), or rent a cart for around $80 a day. There are several stops where you can park, get out, and see the animals up close. The zoo is really well maintained and easy to explore. We had burgers at the cafe freshly made and good! They mentioned our tickets were valid for two days, though I’m not sure if that’s the same on weekdays.
Awon T — Google review
An awesome day out for the whole family. You can bicycle around, hire a buggy or even drive your own car, stopping at each enclosure with heaps of parking. Lots of animals to see in a more natural setting.
Jayne — Google review
Great fun for families with young children and adults alike! The zoo is beautifully laid out, with spacious enclosures and plenty of opportunities to see the animals up close. The walking and cycling paths make it easy to explore, and the staff are friendly and informative. A wonderful day out that combines fun, learning, and fresh air!

The Dubbo Observatory is a local stargazing hub offering educational programs and guided night sky tours. Visitors can marvel at the celestial wonders through various telescopes, capturing stunning astrophotography with their own cameras. The observatory's expert guides provide insightful commentary on stars, planets, and galaxies, making it an ideal destination for astronomy enthusiasts of all ages. With ample parking and friendly staff, it's a recommended stop for those seeking an unforgettable astronomical experience in Dubbo.
I had an amazing experience at the Dubbo observatory. I thought I knew a lot about astronomy so it was excellent to learn some new facts! Peter was super knowledgeable and shared so much information and I loved how he had a variation of looking at stars, planets and moons. If I could I would have asked a billion questions but only managed to ask 1000 lol. Would recommend this wholesome experience where you turn your phone off and look at the stars. Being a star lover, if I could give 100 stars I would x
Darcy N — Google review
Enjoyable if there are no clouds. We were lucky to have a clear sky at night. The presentation was informative and useful for children. The star gazing was spectacular. Recommends to choose a night when it's a new moon and clear sky for the best experience.
G D — Google review
We had a beautiful clear night for visiting Dubbo Observatory. Friendly staff, very welcoming. A small selection of items and postcards available for purchase as a souvenir. A talk given while scopes were being set up was outside, rather than in their small theatrette. I personally would have held talk inside sitting down before going outside to point out astronomical highlights, as it was a long time to be standing about.. Witnessed with the naked eye at least two satellites and two shooting stars during our session, which we were thrilled to see. A great time was had by all. Would recommend if you are interested in our universe. Best time to go would be a clear night with no moon.
E C — Google review
It was a great experience, Peter is knowledgeable and passionate of his craft. You would learn a lot. We joined the 9 pm session, it was chilly, so rag up when you visit there. The telescopes were impressive and to actually experience it... Mind blowing. Worth a visit. 😊
Chen C — Google review
An absolute must for people interested in the stars and space! Highly recommend coming here, it might get cold, but it'll be worth it. You get to see a good range of what is out there. Peter is very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The cost of entry was reasonable, and when checking against other observatories, is a bit cheaper than the others too. We left the observatory frantically googling how expensive it is to buy a telescope with similar digital calibration. One day... one day.
Michael L — Google review
Unmissable Dubbo experience! Peter and Jane are such a great team, making star gazing accessible and interactive. The session included a presentation which taught me so much, followed by the opportunity to view a wide variety of outer space landscapes. It was really special opportunity, set against the soundtrack of the distant sounds of the zoo. Suitable for kids old enough to understand not to touch the telescopes :) 10/10 would recommend!
Sophie V — Google review
Great experience for anyone interested in astronomy! The Dubbo Observatory offers a fascinating look at the night sky, with knowledgeable guides who make complex topics easy to understand. The telescope viewing sessions are fantastic, seeing planets, stars, and galaxies up close is an unforgettable experience. A must-visit while in Dubbo, especially for families and anyone curious about space.
Sed O — Google review
One of its kind experience ! It’s surreal to witness the moon, mars and Jupiter and it’s own moon and many different stars. It’s a must go place for the experience itself. I thoroughly enjoyed it !! Friendly staff and I think the host is annoyed because of naughty kids in the past - so if you are bringing anyone under 18 make sure you all behave and don’t move things!! I think it takes hours of hard work to set things up - so be careful when you walk around and extra cautious about not adjusting or accidentally moving the telescopes. There is another 1:1 mid night photography sessions - if you are serious about photography you should try (I haven’t tried it) Finally - a place you must visit ! Note : plan a no moon or half moon sort of days with less cloudy or no rain nights ! (That’s recommended)

Close to Western plain Zoo, city ,Dubbo Goal etc. Very clean well run park. We stayed in the tent style cabin which was great. Very clean and the bed super comfy. Had the best night sleep. We did take our own pillows. Would definately recommend.
Jenny T — Google review
Lovely kept park, clean amenities and great facilities especially if you have children. Our only complaint was we got one of the only 5-6 sites without a concrete slab, and because it had been raining, sand was muddy and not great to walk on. We will know next time, so be aware. Location of park is good, very close to the Dubbo Zoo. Very secure with gates too.
Mary K — Google review
We spent a wonderful 8 nights here. Our ensuite site was perfectly adequate. The location was central, although rather noisy directly on the highway - lots of trucks through the night! The service was impecable. The staff accommodated our requests, including an emergency extra nights stay without missing a beat. Friendly, helpful, everything you would want. The ammeneties were pretty good. Camp kitchen was well set up, and bathrooms well kept. The bouncing pillow was broken - not their fault! And the playground fairly token. That said, it was all made up for by the heated pool (32°!) and the amazing water slide and splash park. All in all, would definitely visit again.
David B — Google review
Stayed here with two young boys 1+4. We really loved our stay. Sooo close to the zoo that we came for. The water slides and pool here were are boys total highlight. Water was refreshing even on a hot day in November but there was a nice warm pool also. My boys loved riding their bikes around the park and playing on the inflatable pillow and exploring the games room. The grounds were super tidy but inside the cabin was not luxurious. We all went to bed super and no outside noise bothered any of us even with the main road nearby. The staff seem to be pretty on to it with the time restrictions. We had to wash and dry our dishes with the bath towels etc provided, no teatowl. The cabin might be due for a deep clean. Our couch was all wet as the aircon leaked over it and someone's finger nail clippings and other bits all in the carpet in the bedroom and the cups and pots that we wanted to use were dirty so that was the only let down. Super clean fridge and bathrooms. All in all we loved our stay here
Saph — Google review
We stayed on a powered site and family members in a cabin. The park was by far the best location while staying in Dubbo and travelling to the zoo. The zoo was approximately 3-4km from the park. The park itself is incredibly secure and only accessible by guests. The amenities were very clean and the gardens, camp kitchen, pools and games room all in excellent condition. All staff were very friendly and super helpful with local tips on experiences and where to eat. We stayed 4 nights at the end of July 2025. One downside is the road noise is quite loud with trucks 24/7, particularly for the cabins. We would happily stay here again and would recommend in winter to either allow off the ground fire pits or a communal fire given the temperature is around 7c from late afternoon.
Nicole C — Google review
We brought our 2 grand children and stayed for 2 nights they thought the pool was fantastic the cabin that we stayed in was great clean, tidy, well stocked with everything you needed. The staff were very friendly when checking in and checking out was even easier. Thank you so much for the lovely couple of days.
Wilkies C — Google review
Spacious room (we stayed in the queen bed cabin) and the staff had the heat on before we checked into our cabin (it was august when we visited) which was very appreciated considering how cold it was. The reason I give 4 stars is the bed was too soft. Overall good for the price
Koralee H — Google review

Good food, generous size meals, comfortable sitting area with TVs and pool tables. One day we were there and waiting time was 1 hour, but the next day we came we did not have to wait for so long for the food order. Club Dubbo is a good place for a family dinner and relaxed atmosphere.

Mainly a very modern lawn bowls club 30 of us sat for lunch everyone ordered what they wanted from a good selection menu. Heard no complaints about the food so that's a good sign. There is plenty of areas to sit & enjoy a drink or whatever. There is a games room plus TV coverage of sport etc. The club sits on a high point on the west bank of the Macquarie River over looking Dubbo. A good spot.

Perhaps due to intense hunger or the fact that I have frequented numerous Chinese eateries over time, this particular establishment offers exceptionally delectable cuisine. While the ambiance and aesthetic of the place may be lackluster, any shortcomings in terms of furnishings and appearance are easily compensated for by their fantastic food and more! It is important to note that I did not particularly enjoy the satay beef as it tasted more like pepper-infused beef rather than a traditional satay dish which normally incorporates nuts.
Rainbow beef (deep fried beef) with Peking sauce which was listed in the chef's recommended dishes list was a winner. It tasted so good. One of the best rainbow beef we have had. The hot and sour soup, satay chicken and mixed vegetables were tasty. All dishes come in generous portion. We really enjoyed our dinner tonight.

Maybe it was extreme hunger, or maybe it was the fact that I’ve been to many Chinese restaurants in my time, but this one had some amazingly delicious food! Sure, the decor is drab and leaves a bit to be desired, but whatever is lacking in the furniture and cosmetic appearance of the place is made up for with the food and then some! In conclusion, don’t miss the Golden Dragon!

Rang and placed order at 6:30pm. Was told 45 minutes. We left it an hour then went. Was then told it would be another 20 minutes. After 20 minutes we were told it was almost ready, another 20 minutes we were told they were packaging it up. For the next hour the girl told us they were just packing it up. Finally got our food at 9:05pm. As a sorry we got a container of crunchy noodles. Wow thanks. Hope this restaurant closes down.

Pizza Hut is a well-known chain that offers delivery, carry-out, and dine-in options. They are popular for their pizzas, wings, and pasta dishes, as well as sides and desserts. Many customers have praised the quality of their pizza, describing it as outstanding and delicious. Some even claim it to be the best pizza they've had in years. Unlike a disappointing experience with another pizza place, Pizza Hut exceeded expectations by delivering exactly what was ordered and more.

Haldi Indian Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with their fantastic cuisine. The first meal is so enjoyable that many customers return for a second dinner. The butter chicken is exceptional, and the korma beef is both tender and flavorful. The garlic naan bread adds to the overall deliciousness of the dishes. Despite its location being quite far from where some people live, they are grateful for discovering this wonderful place in Dubbo.
Unbelievable ❤️ in all aspects! Indian is not my usual choice, however, it was close to my motel. The young lady was exceptional as I don’t generally eat spicy food, she explained to me what I would like and I loved it. Food was quick, fresh and very flavoursome. All of this plus a glass of wine for $36 - extremely well priced!

Popped in on Monday night by myself as I was in town for work. I love Indian food so was interested to see how it was. It was delicious. I had a spinach and chicken dish and some garlic naan. The naan was thinner than what I was used to but still good. Also had Kingfisher beer (of course) and gulab jamun for dessert. Recommended!

An absolutely phenomenal experience for our private party! We hosted an event with over 70 people at Haldi, and the entire team went above and beyond to make it a memorable occasion. The service was impeccable, and the food was simply outstanding. A special shout-out to Chef Bineesh for the delicious dishes that were served piping hot and full of flavour. Our guests couldn’t stop praising the food and the wonderful ambiance of the restaurant. Huge thanks as well to Gudu, and both Raman & Raman, for their incredible hard work and for running that extra mile to ensure everything was perfect. Their effort did not go unnoticed and was key to making our celebration such a great success. We are so happy with our experience and highly recommend Haldi for any event.

Haldi Indian Restaurant in Dubbo is a great spot for authentic Indian food, offering a wide variety of curries, tandoori dishes, biryanis and breads with rich, flavourful sauces and generous portions that make it good value for money. The service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere is comfortable, making it suitable for both casual meals and family dinners. While some dishes, like the butter chicken, can be a little on the sweeter side and wait times may stretch during busy hours, the overall quality, range of choices and consistency of flavours make Haldi one of the best places in Dubbo to enjoy hearty, satisfying Indian cuisine.

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Orana Mall Shopping Centre, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Western Plains Cultural Centre. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Shopping
Orana Mall Shopping Centre, located on the outskirts of Dubbo, offers a convenient and pleasant shopping experience. Despite being smaller than major city malls, it provides a fair range of stores and good parking facilities. The food court boasts diverse dining options, while clean restrooms and a children's playground add to the convenience. Additionally, the center is easily accessible by public transport with a bus stop in front of the complex.
Large, clean and air conditioned, which was a relief on a 38 C day. Easy to navigate. A wide selection of stores including Woolies, butcher, Big W, Ally, Newsagent, Pharmacy and many others. Pleasant shopping

Let’s be so real the female bathrooms are horrendous they are always so gross doesn’t matter the time of day, it’s like no one ever cleans them. They close extremely early I’ve noticed a few time now.The ones big w end closing at 5:30 on a Thursday, when shops are clearly open till 7pm. They have also closed both ends at times I have noticed which leaves no one with the amenities. Where are staff and more importantly customers meant to go?

Good shopping centre, has mostly all the shops you need.

Nestled just a short drive from Dubbo's city center, Devil's Hollow Brewery is a vibrant destination that opened its doors in mid-2019. Inspired by a trip to South Africa, four friends envisioned creating an urban bar experience infused with community spirit. The brewery pays homage to the local culture and history through its unique beer offerings, each with its own story—right down to the name, which nods to a nearby lake feature known as Devils Hole.
Turned up here on a random Tuesday evening, the place was 3/4 full at 630pm. Live music, beautiful food, GREAT beer, and just a beautiful vibe. I love me a good brewery, and this is near the top of the list!!

Went here while on holiday on the recommendation of the manager of the place we stayed. The food was really well presented and the menu was small enough to ensure that what did show up was made with attention. We had some pizzas and the Korean chicken with some sides. I would happily eat everything we chose again. The food arrived promptly, the staff were efficient and the dining area was inviting and open without being too overwhelming. There are a selection of beers available (obviously) that will cater to every palate but there are other options if you need them. There are a selection of desserts but I did not partake, so can’t say if they’re any good.

Food was amazing. Venue was amazing. Pea Blossom Lemonade was delicious. Our friend & I had the Vietnamese Pork Belly, it was so tender & melt-in-your-mouth yummy. My husband had “meat lovers” style pizza, apologies but I can’t remember the name of it. He said it was really good. Happy days all round. Highly recommend!!!

I never like to write bad reviews but for this place i definitely wanted to… We went for my sons 21st birthday and everyone waited an hour for our entree’s, and another hour for mains. When the food arrived my husband and I got the lamb for 2 it was very dry and over cooked with one tiny cup of gravy, we asked for more gravy as it was that dry, it was so bad we didn’t even eat half of it. We thought we would just eat the veggies and they were also bad… very disappointing 🥹 and I paid a fortune for meals and entree’s. We won’t be back!!!

If you know what good beer taste, don't go here. There is better in town! Took a tasting paddle, I couldn't finish any, even a simple IPA.

Nice establishment. IPA was tasty. Disappointed in the “sweet potato salad” which wasn’t. More like a coleslaw with a few slices of sweet potato on top and flavour combo was odd. My partner enjoyed his Diavola burger.

Extremely disappointing experience with the manager, Caitlin. I visited Devil’s Hollow Brewery and politely asked for a simple lemon wedge. Caitlin’s response was shockingly rude, she gave me an aggressive look, slammed the till drawer, and placed the lemon wedge on the kitchen counter far from where I was standing, without a word of acknowledgment. Her attitude was completely unprofessional and lacked even the most basic customer service skills. It’s really unfortunate to have such a negative interaction in what could otherwise be a great place. Management should seriously look into improving their staff’s approach to customer service a smile and a bit of courtesy go a long way. One star review is a lucky google review to have, i would give below 0 if ever existed.

Dubbo Regional Botanic Garden is a picturesque and family-friendly destination with free admission. It consists of four distinct garden areas: Shoyoen Japanese Garden, Sensory Gardens, Oasis Valley, and Biodiversity Garden. The serene Shoyoen Japanese Garden is particularly popular for its traditional landscape and features like a small lake with Koi fish, a waterfall, and birdlife. Adjacent to the garden is the Dubbo Regional Adventure Playground, making it an ideal spot for families.
This is a lovely area. It is not too big that you can easily walk around with young kids. There is a pond with huge carps and a resident pelican. Lovely flowers and gorgeous plants all around.

This is a Must-visit attraction in Dubbo. This Japanese garden is beautiful with a little lake that has some of the most amazing colourful, huge sized Koi fish, few different types of ducks and other birds, many exotic varieties of trees plants and flowers etc. There's also bbq and seating areas located within. The relaxing atmosphere here provides for a refreshing experience. Highly recommended.

Beautifully landscaped and well maintained gardens and playground. The playground is fenced with several picnic shelters, and a toilet block right in the middle, with a flying fox, large concrete slide, climbing frames, hammock, and wheelchair accessible swing which appeared to be in good working order when we visited. Note that although fenced, the gate is left open. The Japanese gardens are enclosed separately to the playground. It features meandering pathways, a magnificent weeping willow and a large pond with waterfall, ducks and koi. Small children need close supervision in this space due to easy access to the water. There are also toilet facilities at the back of the Japanese gardens. Definitely worth a visit for all ages. We loved it so much we came twice during our stay in Dubbo.
Edwina B — Google review
The botanic garden development began in 1999 and currently comprises one adventure playground, and five distinctive garden spaces; Shoyoen Japanese Garden, the Sensory Garden, the Biodiversity Garden, the Oasis Valley and the Wiradjuri Garden. It is open 7 days with shorter time on weekends. You can book for guided tours by calling the council. Alternatively there is an audio app that you can download on your mobile phone. It is over a large area and can take some hours to visit. The Japanese house on site has limited numbers at any one time and hence needs to be prebooked. Popular place, need to go early to avoid the heat as well. You can get there by car or public transport. Toilets available. Uneven terrain, lot of walking. You can spend several hours here depending on your interests. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Free entry. Beautiful place. Lots to see especially in spring when blooms are out. Lovely place for picnic. Great place for photography.

Short Street Store is a charming cafe located in a residential area of Dubbo city. The heritage-style building offers a relaxed atmosphere, delicious coffee, and a diverse food menu made with locally sourced produce. Visitors can enjoy the trendy outdoor courtyard or the colorful indoor rooms filled with plants. The cafe is known for its all-day breakfast options and friendly staff. Customers praise the tasty food, particularly highlighting the breakfast risotto and Reuben toasted sandwich, as well as the excellent service provided by the team.
Delicious as always, since moving to Dubbo visiting Short Street Store has become my weekend treat whether it's grabbing a quick takeaway, dining in with family or popping in during my lunch breaks in the working week. The breaky wraps continue to be my fave, with an added oat iced latte with a shot of caramel of course. Short Street hits the mark everytime with their coffee, meals, sweet treats and more. Love the specials. The staff are always super friendly.

So my Mum’s now husband used to own this store back in the day when it was the neighbourhood milk bar, so had to come and check it out. Apparently they lived in the residence and ran the milk bar / kitchen from the front room. We nipped in for a late breaky and was impressed with the food. The B&E roll I ordered was delicious and kept me full for the majority of the day. We sat inside in one of the back rooms as it was raining but would be nice on a sunnier day sitting outside in the courtyard. Definitely worth stopping in for a feed if you love locally or passing through town.

A café that really surprised us—in a good way. Right from the start, it felt different. Thoughtful touches were everywhere, from the layout to the little details. You could tell someone actually cared. Service was warm and efficient. We were greeted straight away and made to feel welcome. Before we even ordered, it was clear this place runs with heart. The gluten-free menu was done well. It wasn’t just a token option—there were plenty of choices, and each one was marked clearly with a small flag. One detail that stood out: all the women at our table were served first. It was a simple gesture, but it said a lot about the care behind the scenes. The food was spot on. The hash brown was house-made and crisp—not the frozen kind. Pancakes (gluten-free) were a hit, and the bacon and egg roll was packed and cooked just right. We all had different egg requests—some runny, some not—and they nailed every one without issue. It’s the small things too: a bite-sized brownie with each coffee, a quiet green courtyard, and tidy, unfussy decor. Only minor note: the cappuccinos were a bit heavy on the chocolate, almost like a mocha. Nothing major, just a personal taste. To the team—kitchen, floor staff, and whoever’s behind it all—thank you

After I finish my work commitments I make a point of exploring the cafe/restaurant offerings in small and large regional communities. I discovered Short Street Store last August 2023 and visited again a few days ago. Just as good and just as friendly. Located in a quiet residential street about 1.5 km west of the Dubbo CBD, this cafe continues to look, feel and taste different to most of the local establishments. Once again greeted with a wide smile and enthusiastic table service I ordered a toast dish that in my widespread travels remains unique. Call my lazy however I had to try it again. Called a “Fancy Toast” (compared to what???) you get a two substantial pieces if Vienna white bread topped with a house made spinach and pistachio mousse. It was just as lovely the second time however my photograph probably does not do it justice. The cafe claims this fancy toast is awesome with bacon or chorizo - that delight is for next time in a couple of months. Coupled with a freshly pressed “Green Juice” (apple, cucumber, mint, spinach & ginger) and a macchiato I set myself up for the long drive home. The juice is very flavoursome and will balanced. While the macchiato was very good I can’t give it more than an 8/10 rating. I am a bit of a coffee nut so forgive me the indulgence of hard rating. Having said that, I would still come back for another coffee. I had two while there. If you really want an all day Breaky to fortify you for a long drive, try the Butter Chicken Bene - Vienna toast topped with baby spinach, pulled butter chicken, 2 poached eggs, curry hollandaise & crispy fried onions. Wow! Then there is the Breaky Risotto with saffron oil ….. So my suggestion in Dubbo is get out of the busy and rather feature less main street and head up to Short Street Store. I certainly will when I return in the near future. Looking around I could see the local community meets here for food and chat.
Alexander H — Google review
Sadly the food was a bit of a letdown. The eggs benedict and tikka eggs benedict did not hit the mark. The tikka shredded chicken was cold, minimal hollandaise, and the eggs were not runny. If you are chasing eggs benedict, there are much better and consistent places elsewhere in Dubbo. Probably would have been good to know that the hash browns were also indian inspired and not suitable with pancakes or other more western foods. The bacon and egg roll/burgers the table next to us ordered did look great though. The cafe looks rustic and old, which is quite charming.

Elston Park is a fantastic family-friendly destination that offers a delightful blend of recreation and relaxation. Nestled conveniently near the main highway, this park provides an oasis of tranquility with minimal traffic noise, making it perfect for picnics and leisurely walks. Families can enjoy ample green spaces where kids can run freely, along with well-maintained picnic facilities complete with electric BBQs and plenty of shaded areas under the trees.
Great Park - water play area, flying fox, playground and bbq facilities. The larger part of the playground is suited to much older kids - and I'm not even sure they would be completely safe on it - but there is another section for smaller kids regardless. Lots of trees for share and picnic tables.

We generally pull up here to eat some lunch in the shade etc... The waterpark and facilities for kids are awesome. Always kept clean n tidy and very minimal garbage. Council should be proud of themselves for this space and the joy it brings to local families.

A delightful spot adjacent to the main highway through town, however, traffic noise is minimal. Plenty of shade from the trees. Numerous tables and chairs, however, more could be covered. Plenty of rubbish bins and the toilets are clean (males are at least). Toilets open 6am - 6pm. The odd Ibis bird is about, but, they don't annoy. Also the odd galah, pigeon, cackatoo, magpie and rosella. Great little water park for the young ones to play in and cool down on those warm days. Also a quaint little play area for the young ones with swings and the like. Grass was well maintained and a delight to sit on with no obvious prickley bits. Two public BBQs and two bubbles.

My brother and his wife were staying at the Orana Hotel where Ling Ling Thai is located so we decided to give it a try. Quite busy for Tuesday night and I would recommend booking. Restaurant was nice inside and wait staff were good. The ling (monkey) theme was presented well in the decor and signage. Food was well presented and delicious, service was fast. I have spent a lot of time in Thailand and was impressed with the quality of the meals and flavours. There was a constant flow of take aways while we were, it is a popular place. If you like good Thai food, give it try.

My partner took me here to celebrate my coming to Dubbo. The service and food was great. Prawn spring rolls were simple and delicious. The pad thai had good flavour! The seafood platter for $60 was a total hit. Everything was perfectly cooked. Add some crushed chilli to the dipping sauce if you love heat. The egg fried rice had the wok hay with a decent flavour of egg coming through not to overpowering. Will definitely 10/10 recommend! Thank you team for a wonderful night.

Amazing Thai restaurant right in the heart of Dubbo. The dishes had great flavour but unlike other Thai restaurants, the dishes were not over powered with flavour and it made our tongues crave for more!! The dishes are generously sized and great for sharing. The staff were lovely and courteous, and so very attentive when needed. Very impressed and so disappointed that we have lived here for 1 year and hadn't tried this sooner! Pricing was very reasonable however the cocktails are a little on the more expensive side but that's to be expected. We will be back for sure.

This is the worst Thai food I have ever eaten. The price is 30-50% expensive more than most of Thai food restaurants. The recommended beef is too hard to chew. Because it was late, we chose to take out which is easier to make. But we waited for 50 minutes, and some customers who came later than us actually ate(disappointed ). I have visited many Thai restaurants, and this one really shocked me

We have a new contender for the filthiest KFC. Fingerprints all over the four touch screens, all tables wiped with a greasy rag , needs a good cleaning of the floor as there were debris all over it. Maybe clean into the corners too. The windowsill hadn't been wiped in who knows how long, complete with dead insects. Ordered two burgers and one sat on the rack for five minutes whilst they made the other one. Nothing like a cold Zinger burgers. Not up to any standard!
John S — Google review
I’m really disappointed — the food tasted awful and seemed to be fried in dirty oil. Customers deserve better quality, especially when we’re paying for it.
Sanjeev R — Google review
Long story short. Do yourself a favour and drive up to the other KFC in the city centre. The store was a mess, it looked liked it had not been cleaned for hours. It's not like we went in a big rush, it was 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Bins were overflowing and the only two clean tables were more than likely the only two tables not used all day. Food and receipts all over the floor. The staff member who served us appeared to be the only one who attempted to meet the minimum standards expected to uphold some of the KFC values they proclaim to have. Won't go into too much detail about the other young workers because they don't need to be sacked, they just need inspiration to do a better job and that comes from the store management. I hope the guy scooping out the coleslaw was paying attention to the portion control whilst he was talking to his buddies on the phone. Anyways I'm not one to leave too much of a negative review especially when it comes to fast food, but even the food was sub par. When a KFC store can do worse than Lithgow and Wellington which has historically had a bad reputation out here in the Central West then something is wrong. Happy to rewrite this review if ever I go back at there and is some improvement. Better luck next time I suppose. As a local you should really make an attempt during tourist season.

So bad!!! Uneatable meal ordered zinger meals the chicken pieces were the size of nuggets, chips were like cardboard and cold, tables were not cleaned the tablet to order from was filthy we had to wash our hands before eating!!! The drive through was definitely a priority for the staff as we waited for at least 25mins for our order. Not the staff's fault just need more staff. We tried this KFC as the one down town was an absolute disgrace!!!

Dropped in today to pick up some lunch and I was shocked to see how filthy this restaurant was. The floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped in weeks. Every surface from the ordering touch screens and drinks fridge were filthy. Bins were full and the general dining room was unkempt, i’m glad I didn’t have to use the toilets. As I waited for my food I couldn’t help but wonder what state the kitchen was in considering the state of the dining room. I don’t blame the kids running the joint, it comes back to management.

Service was horrible, one person out the front doing up to 15 orders at once. 1 slushie was ordered. Took over 25 minutes and got skipped over by other people who ordered slushies well over ten minutes after I ordered. Seriously understaffed and poorly decided actions.

I grabbed a wrap for late lunch and it went into bin after the first few mouthfuls - chicken was dry and the wrap was stale hard cardboard . This place needs a good overhaul . I have had bad food and mistakes in my order often .

Fried chicken takeaway
KFC Dubbo is a popular fast food chain known for its famous fried chicken, served in generous buckets. Alongside their crispy and flavorful chicken, they offer combo meals and a variety of sides to complete your order. The staff at KFC Dubbo are well-organized and provide excellent customer service, ensuring that orders are delivered promptly and accurately. During peak hours, there may be some waiting time due to the high demand for their delicious food.
By far one of the worst KFC I had been to. The order was initially made wrong with mising coleslaw and missing aioli sauce tubs. Had to go back and ask for it. Then went home to find that the large potato gravy was filled less than half way; so its mostly air rather than potato gravy. I also ordered 8pcs of chicken which all of them were given as drumstick with no breasts or thigh pieces. Very poor effort

This KFC is absolutely laughable. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The drive thru lights were off at 9:30pm but my partner and I could see people ordering food inside so we decided to walk in. The KFC staff instantly made it quite clear that they were displeased with us being there so late. The staff were loudly swearing amongst each other, slamming doors, loudly expressing that they just wanted to go home, looking at us laughing and shaking their heads (including the manager). The staff continued to make us feel unwelcomed as they constantly gave us angry looks and threw our food into the box with such attitude. - the zinger burger was a mess and they used already cooked chicken that they emptied out of plastic bags. The chicken was clearly double cooked and almost inedible. They forgot our gravy which is a common occurrence here so that was no surprise. The quality of food and staff at this place is absolutely horrible. When will these issues be addressed? I can see many other dissatisfied reviews from other people experiencing the same thing. This will be the last time I spend my hard-earned money at this awful restaurant.

I ordered a Family Burger Box, hoping for an easy dinner after a long day at work - especially since it was raining and perfect takeaway weather. There were only a handful of people waiting ahead of me when I arrived, so I expected a fairly standard wait time. However, during the 45 minutes I was in store, only four orders were handed out. I noticed several customers asking how much longer their orders would take, and shortly after doing so, their meals were prepared and handed out. After waiting around 35 minutes myself, the store began to get busier. One of the two front-counter staff members started unpacking boxes, so I approached him to ask how much longer my order would be. He told me he would prepare it now, and I received it about five minutes later - unfortunately with the incorrect burgers. What I found most disappointing was that orders only seemed to be made once customers asked about them. It created unnecessary delays and frustration, and I don’t understand why orders weren’t simply made and called out as usual.
Isabelle W — Google review
Be prepared to wait. Uber eats people appear to get service first, waving their phone in the faces of staff. When combined with drive through service, it becomes a joke. Waited 50min for coleslaw n potatoes gravy and only after I asked staff.
A D — Google review
Unfortunately, I agree with majority of the other reviews on here, Dubbo KFC would have to be the worst restaurant I have been to, and that’s saying something…. We wanted to dine in and all of the tables were dirty with food left in them, greasy finger smears, sauce stuck to walls, etc. I tried to do the right thing and ask for a spray and cloth to wipe the table down myself. I was offered napkins which is a joke. I asked again but got a confused look from the staff member. After a third time, a young female staff member came out to wipe the tables, which was great. Finally… I went to the men’s toilets to find the toilet full and constant running water, soap dispenser that didn’t work, a broken tap and 1 out of 2 hand dryers working. What the…?? The meals we ordered came without spoons, without napkins or anything else, but the food looked like it had been thrown into the bags, but hey…. At least they had food in them right? LMFAO! After asking for some napkins, another male staff member handed over a stack of about 40 napkins, and no… I’m not kidding. The burger buns were hard, chips hard on the inside, a little raw but not frozen, and I’d say the Pepsi Max was the most reliable part of the meal, coz it’s not something prepared at the restaurant. Jeez, if the owner actually cares… you really need to lift your game in a MASSIVE way!

Ordered a delivery last night. Drink never turned up. Chicken was cold and dry. Couldn't eat 2 peices of chicken. It was so tough. Soggy chips. It was over an hour wait time. I watched on the map as the driver delivered several orders first. I attempted to cancel order . As far as I'm concerned. U need to replace 2 peices of chicken and .. where the hell is my mountain due drink????

Placed my small order at 5.32pm, waited 45 minutes, ask the person serving how much longer my order would be, he said 15 minutes. At that point I ask for my money back. Bloody ridiculous...this was Tuesday the 28-10-25.

Historic Sites
Old Dubbo Gaol, a heritage-listed site, offers guided tours and interactive exhibits that provide insight into the dark history of the Australian judicial system. Built in 1871 and used as a penitentiary from 1847 to 1966, this well-preserved prison now serves as a museum featuring animatronic models of inmate life, a gallows pole where eight men were executed, solitary confinement cells, and more.
Well maintained buildings and grounds. Difficult to imagine the living conditions the prisoners had to endure all those years ago. Many rooms had photos and stories of the prisoners and offences committed. A replica gallows in the yard. A gallery of uniforms and memorabilia. Also got to see and participate in a skit preforming an escape attempt. What a hoot. Pension discounts available.

Such an interesting and historic place. Very eerie walking through the jail cell building. Worth a visit. Street parking or parking near the information center available. Small little gift shop and toilets on site.

The old gaol has a fascinating history. You can do self-guided tours. Lots of info, pictures and holograms to bring to life the stories of the prisoners. Definitely recommend when in Dubbo.
Paul H — Google review
I truly enjoyed the night tour. Lots more information on prisoners stories, more quiet to be able to hear and the two fantastic tour guides Chad and Milla. Enthusiastic, full of life and great sense of humour, excellence is my word for these wonderful young people. Thank you so much for an memorable and fun night. I did attend the day before and ended up leaving. Two groups of schools entered, at different times. Sadly it was so noisy we couldn't hear ourselves think. I feel the public could be informed of school visits to work around the school schedule, so the public can make a decision to whether to attend at that time. I feel the teachers, parents and dubbo jail have an obligation to teach our children some good old manners. This allows children to listen and respect others around them and some thoughtfulness to others. Constantly ringing the big bell was not only annoying but deafening. Never an issue or a problem on the kids having some fun, but not Constantly over and over. It was so bad we all left. But overall a fantastic experience.
CHOOKA — Google review
Fun experience for kids with a show where kids can help a convict escape! Also really interesting and educational for Australian history.
Kristy S — Google review
Plenty to see and do here despite it looking really dull from the outside. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. There are character performances and self-guided tours of the cells, hospital and grounds. Plenty of exhibits and photos of the executed prisoners, if you like that part of the macabre. Worth a visit if you're in town. We spent about 90 minutes there.
Daniel E — Google review
Geez it wouldn’t have been an enjoyable stay in the Old Dubbo Gaol back in the day! Very well preserved and presented, gave you a real sense of what it would have been like to be a prisoner here years ago, stinking hot in Summer and bloody freezing in Winter…damn!! Glad we stopped in to check it out!

Ok to see, if you’re interested in the history, but it’s a bit smaller than you’d imagine and quite pricey for what’s on offer - all the same, while in Rome!

Dubbo Visitors Information Centre is a great starting point for navigating the remote Orana Region. It offers cold drinks, tea or coffee, and free Wi-Fi in a shaded alfresco area. The knowledgeable staff provides information on Dubbo's attractions and events. The center also offers brochures about nearby areas, including the zoo, and sells souvenirs based on local attractions. Visitors can also find one of the Pluto's from the Solar System Drive here.
If you need to know ow what’s going on Dubbo or where to cost when you are there, Visiter information center is the place to be. Very knowledgeable staff and full of information. It’s a must visit in Dubbo. Got myself an Emu toy and I love it.

Breakfast restaurant
CSC Restaurant and Bar, situated at the intersection of Church and Macquarie St near the rotunda, offers a delectable breakfast and lunch menu featuring seasonal and innovative dishes. The restaurant boasts a fully stocked bar, allowing patrons to savor their meals with a glass of wine outdoors during warm evenings or indoors under heaters in winter.
Being one of the only cafes open on Easter Sunday there were a lot of customers but the staff were amazing, even having floor staff taking orders from people in line to reduce the wait. The wait time on coffee and food were great, with good portions and very tasty (as per picture below) being a long black drinker, could instantly tell the beans are of high quality and was made as asked. 5/5 stars guys thanks for your hospitality, happy Easter 😅

Nice little place in the high street of Dubbo. Food was tasty and quite filling - I couldn’t manage all the corn fritters with eggs I had. The server we had was nice but it took ages for the smoothie we ordered to come so I finished most of my breakfast before we had to remind them about it which is a bit of a shame. They do their menu takeaway as well which is good, coffee was good too. Lovely, trendy atmosphere.

Loved our breakfast here.We went to so many places and then finally settled for their menu.I enjoyed my fruit toast and my husband had eggs with hollandaise sauce. The only problèm we have had everywhere ,is that they serve ham in every dish. As we do not eat ham and there are very few halal places. We always have to ask them to avoid putting ham . Personally I feel it would be a great gesture by the owners in restaurants to mention that they do cater to us,as we left out so many restaurants and cafes due to this problem. Catering for ham/pork eaters only.

Giving 5 stars for the food, atmosphere, and service! Even though it looked like the team might have been a bit short-staffed, everything ran so smoothly — our food and drinks came out quickly and were absolutely delicious. I went to the front counter, and the lady who served us (I can’t remember her name, but she had lots of tattoos) was amazing! Her customer service was outstanding — friendly, funny, and she really made the experience enjoyable. Not only was she great with customers, but I also noticed how well she communicated with other staff members — polite, confident, and super organized. Everything flowed perfectly thanks to her leadership and energy. Please let her know she’s doing an incredible job! 👏 Also who ever came up with coconut water with Raspberry and matcha!!! You are also amazing Everything was amazing! We will be back again when we travel back through

Went there based on reviews and it simply did not disappoint. Service is quick and friendly. Food is super fresh, well priced and decent portion sizes. Did not have coffee
Shilpa T — Google review
We visited this beautiful café yesterday, and honestly, the reviews don’t do it justice! Despite how busy it was, Liberty’s service was absolutely outstanding—so polite, attentive, and communicative. Couldn’t fault her one bit. Our coffees (a latte and cappuccino) were made by Rissa, and they were perfect—smooth, balanced, and truly delicious. Exactly how a good coffee should be. The food options were impressive, and it was tough to choose, but we went with the matcha crepes and the crabby patty eggs bene. Both were incredible! Who knew matcha could taste so good in crepes? Hats off to whoever created that dish. And the crabby patty eggs bene… simply out of this world. Even though the café was packed, everything came out in great time. We expected a long wait, but our meals arrived within 30 minutes, which was more than reasonable given how busy it was. Overall, a wonderful experience—great food, amazing coffee, and service that really stood out.
Oliver M — Google review
Originally stopped here for coffee but there were quite a few seated outside and the food being brought to the tables looked pretty good. Reviews were all really positive so we decided to have some food as well. Where could we go wrong? The fact that we chose to eat, thats where it all went wrong. I get that the cost of everything is so much more these days but with increased cost you expect the food to be decent. How can you get eggs on toast so wrong? The eggs were cold and how hard is it to cook toast? You couldn't cut it with a knife, parts were so overcooked they were just dried out and inedible, like they'd been sitting in a warmer and just crisped up and crisped up, other parts weren't even cooked. We had originally wanted the Crab Cakes Benny but after ordering and paying were told that it wasn't available but we could get the pancakes with pear and ricotta that was pretty much the same thing?! We changed that order to eggs on toast with a crumbed mushroom but had still paid more for the crab cakes. There was no offer of a refund of the difference and the menus seemed to be spirited away quite quickly before we could sit and work out the difference (which we'd already done and of course i could've just imagined that) The Acai bowl was fine, maybe a little scummy on the fruit- one strawberry and four blueberries. I do hesitate to give bad reviews for little local businesses but this place was so far from what I read online I was very disappointed.

Dubbo RSL Memorial Club has undergone significant changes in recent years. The beer selection is somewhat limited, but the service is fast and efficient. Upstairs at One7Eight, the striploin was perfectly cooked and tender, while the gnocchi and creme brulee were excellent. However, a cheese platter could have been better. The club offers a friendly atmosphere with helpful staff and reasonably priced meals like Chicken Schnitzel with various toppings.
Really good food! Waited 30+ mins for the meal, however Scotch Fillet steak was great. Would recommend.

It's been a few years since I was last here and it has changed a lot. The selection of beer is very limited especially if you like black beer or stout. Just one of each is available. It was very crowded when we visited but the service was fast and efficient. We ate upstairs at One7Eight and it was pretty good. I had the striploin and it was cooked to perfection and very tender. My wife had the gnocchi with creme brulee for desert and both were excellent. I had a cheese platter that could have been better. Overall it isn't as good as it once was but still worth a visit if you are staying close by.

Pretty happy with what turned out to be a damn fine meal, and very reasonably priced beer on tap. My “go to” in most country towns Is the local RSL. Not only does it support veterans, but they generally have a great bistro or restaurant serving reasonably priced meals. I was NOT disappointed. Well done @Dubbo RSL Memorial Club. Medium rare scotch fillet with chips and veggies was a winner! I’ll be back.

Luckily they accepted us here for dinner, as we had no place to go.We ordered fish with pumpkin and beetroot and a burger beef. The fish was really good but the beef burger was bit bland. The chips were really crisp. The best thing I liked about this place was the atmosphere and there was no loud music or noise. The service was a bit slow as they were rushed. The seating is far so at least we are not too close to people.Helpings were good.A wonderful place to meet up with friends or family.

Thought it would be nice to have lunch today as it’s been a while since I’ve eaten here. Food more expensive than I would have liked for members, mine was chicken tenders a bit of pear and some lettuce for $18, I don’t think I’d recommend or order that meal again. Tables in my area were dirty. No one seated in my area against the window either. Staff should check tables each meal time to ensure level of cleanliness is kept to hygienic standards I feel. Not a fan of the wicker chairs either. There was also utensils and rubbish near counters on the floor and not many clean utensils in the trays where to get them. Didn’t make for a nice visit but I’ll try again soon

We had dinner here and it was superb! Their menu was varied and contemporary, the seating area was comfortable and the staff friendly. The meals quickly arrived and were hot and delicious. The price of both meals and drinks was very reasonable.

$11 a schooner served with a snarl at the main bar of Dubbo RSL. What a lovely greeting for visitors. Had one beer and walked out. Changed arrangements as a result to meet the rest of the family, 8 adults in total, at the West Dubbo Bowling Club (Club Dubbo) instead. $8.50 a schooner, friendly staff and awesome meals. What a disgrace for a country RSL Club to price gouge like this. Even moreso when I think about my ancestors who served in WW2, including my great uncle from Dubbo who survived Changi. Hang your head in shame Dubbo RSL.

The Dubbo Regional Theatre & Convention Centre offers a diverse range of events throughout the year, making it a top attraction in Dubbo. From music concerts and theatre productions to formal events and keynote speakers, there's something for everyone. The venue provides comfortable seating with good views and easy access, including facilities for wheelchair users. With friendly staff and a regular calendar of events, it's a great community asset that attracts both locals and visitors alike.
Today I saw Fierce Performing Arts deliver a truly magical rendition of Wonka. From ballerinas to hip-hop and tap dancers of all ages, every performer brought energy and talent to the stage. The choreography was stunning, expertly adapted for the theatre setting. My only regret is that I can't see it again! The Dubbo Regional Theatre provided a fantastic venue for the performance. The seats were spacious, the temperature was just right, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The collaboration between Fierce Performing Arts and the theatre was a perfect match, enhancing both the performance and the overall experience

What a great community asset. I'm a subscriber to the annual shows that come to Dubbo. The regional theatre is a well sized, well maintained venue to visit and catch a show. A great night out. The Village Bakehouse, operated by the Stevenson family, has a rich history that dates back to 1918. This bakery on Darling Street in Dubbo offers a variety of freshly baked pies, breads, and pastries. The Stevensons have maintained their passion for baking throughout the years, and their dedication has earned them over 100 awards for their premium and gourmet pies. In addition to their renowned pie selection, they have recently expanded their menu to include delicious lunchtime burgers.
We were looking for somewhere open on Easter Sunday and saw the Village Bakehouse was open. It was really busy but we managed to find a table upstairs (there's seating on the ground floor and outside too). The double cheese & bacon pie and jumbo sausage roll were quickly eaten by the younger members. My brekky burger was delicious and piping hot. Wide range of pies, sandwiches and freshly made breakfast and lunch options. Would recommend a visit

Had an awesome experience at Village Bakehouse in Dubbo! The vibe was super cozy and welcoming, and the food really hit the spot. I ordered the scrambled eggs on sourdough and honestly, it was perfect — the eggs were fluffy and buttery, and the sourdough was fresh with that perfect crunch. And so did the kids love their pancakes. You can tell they really care about quality here. The coffee was great too, smooth and strong. The staff were really friendly and made the whole visit even better. Definitely a place I’d come back to whenever I’m in town!

Genuine, quality, friendly, cozy! These are just some of the words I can use to describe the Village Bakehouse. This place was recommended by a colleague as a great place to grab a bite to eat, and they were right. The smoked Bacon and Egg roll was on a whole new level and the coffee was smooth with the right amount of punch. Just wish it was lunchtime because the pies looked and smelt amazing. Thoroughly recommend making the trip

It's not nearly as good as it used to be. Visiting prior to closing didn't help, so I went back next day. I purchased lemon slice in afternoon, which was quite nice, but next day nothing really appealed to me, so I left without purchasing anything as I couldn't be bothered queueing either. The atmosphere has been updated with fireplaces, which are appealing on cold days for sitting by whilst eating indoors.

I've been coming to the Village Hot Bake since it was a tiny shop attached to the front of the bakery. Growing up, my school canteen used to get their pies from here. Now it's turned into a nice cafe with a wide selection of baked goods. Every time we come back to Dubbo we always pay a visit to grab a pie and a pastry.

Lovely bakery with nice pastries and good service. Everything is freshly made in house. They have a small menu with extra items for breakfast and lunch alongside the large amount of baked goods, fresh sandwiches, pies and sweets on display to choose from. Terramungamine Reserve, located northwest of Dubbo, is a picturesque free camping spot along the Macquarie River that attracts road trippers. However, its main draw is the ancient Aboriginal rock carvings found on the rocks, which were used by indigenous Australians to sharpen tools and weapons long before European settlement.

It was really lovely beside the river. Really beautiful! Lots of flat areas to park a caravan. There were toilets which were pretty clean and they had toilet paper. The white galahs(maybe) were just amazing there were about a thousand in the trees and they would all take off and whirl and soar around and around. Spectacular, very noisy, but the minute it was dark you didn't hear them, obviously sleeping.🥱😌 Some people had raging camp fires 🔥 I think they bought there own wood. There is no dump point or power or water but you can put out your grey water. There are no showers.
Debra P — Google review
Well, it’s free. There’s plenty of room for a dozen rigs plus a few tents here and there. It’s a pretty spot by a small river. CampFires allowed. Toilets were broken - not looking like they were going to be repaired any time soon. Self-contained is the way to go.
Keith ( — Google review
Wonderful place. Lots of areas but not many people. You can fish there, and some kids can swim in the river. Campfire is always the kid's favour. Also, have a few picnic tables. The toilet is ok to use, but a bit smelly and not clean—no shower or other equipment.
Rosa Z — Google review
Great overnight spot. Busy by river, but lots more space near the entrance. Overflowing bins and toilets spoiled the environment. Interesting indigenous information and safe walking by river on mown paths. Flock of goats wandered through.
Emma C — Google review
Just a short drive out of town. Found a fuel stop that was 30 cents cheaper for diesel on the way. Good spread out camping possibilities. Ahh the serenity.

Nice over night stay with toilets. Next to the Macquarie River. Shady spots available. BBQ tables 24 hour stay only (free)

Nestled in the heart of Dubbo, The Establishment Bar is a delightful surprise that whisks you away to the glamour of 1930s New York. With its Gatsby-inspired decor and an impressive array of crafted cocktails, this speakeasy-style venue offers a sophisticated alternative for those looking to unwind after 4 pm.
I had the pleasure of being served by Laura at the Establishment, and I must say, she was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I walked in, Laura greeted me with a warm, welcoming smile and made sure I felt right at home. She was attentive, friendly, and provided great recommendations that really elevated my experience. Her professionalism and upbeat personality made my visit memorable. If you're lucky enough to have her as your server, you're in for a treat! Highly recommend this place, especially if Laura is working

Beautiful set up, customer service is fantastic! Love the Ipad ordering. Helps with anxiety. Omg the drinks... beautifully presented and tastes amazing. The music filled the room with such passion. Well done. I'll definitely be visiting again. First impressions is 10/10!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed the cosy atmosphere. Lemon meringue Sour cocktail really has to be tried, hints of vanilla with the turmoil of sweet and sour in each tasting! Yum!
Anne W — Google review
It's a small, exclusive bar, unusual for Dubbo. They have events and entertainment on a regular basis. We had tickets to a comedy show, which was lots of fun.

Japanese restaurant
Sushi Zen is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Dubbo, proudly standing as the town's first and only sushi train. This modest yet inviting eatery offers an array of fresh sushi options that cater to various dietary preferences, including gluten-free and vegetarian choices. With its reasonable prices and vibrant atmosphere, it's perfect for those seeking a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends.
I’ve been coming here off and on for around 6 years now. Every time I come here I always walk away satisfied, joyful and very much content. The meals are always a generous size and well worth the cost, my particular favourite being the Katsu Chicken Ramen. I hope to continue coming here for many more years.
Jarren T — Google review
Walked around in Dubbo and found this sushi train restaurant with a group of friends and decided to give it a try. The sushi here was average and a bit overpriced for different plates (but understandable in a rural area), some sushi tasted really fresh and some tasted like the sushi has been sitting there for quite sometime (especially the chicken katsu sushi and anything that was fried). The panko of the katsu became stale and was hard to eat. But it’s understandable considering it’s a sushi train. We also had the miso soup, it tasted different then what a miso soup should taste like. It was super salty and then had a hint of sourness in it. This was a disappointment. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Overall average sushi on a sushi train, but wasn’t expecting much anyways.

How to loose regular clients in 5 minutes? They refused to do a $10 dollar discount they are advertising at the shop and in the menu, and throw in the bin $50 dollar order just to not give the discount. Poor management, not going back to this place. If I was the owner, I would review the manager’s competency, because she is making you loose clients. These people just decided it was better to chuck food in the bin instead of applying the discount as is currently advertised both online and at the check out. See images

Modest, low key sushi joint in the heart of Dubbo. Sushi train style, very reasonably priced and so far, the numerous times I've been here, always fresh. If your after a quick bite to eat, I definately recommend this place.

This is one of my favorite sushi restaurant in Dubbo, i always come here and recommend this place to people but not anymore as last weekend i went there and want to order sushi but the sushi maker guy refused my order and said they are busy. Actually the lady would like to do my order but after he said no, then the lady said sorry we can’t do that at the moment. Update : it happened about 12-1 pm at lunch time

All food is very good. But as a korean. I can understand what the chef said. Chef's attitude is extremely bad. He complained client's waiting manner. For example "why they come into the store and stood waiting"

Chinese restaurant
Restaurant
Hing Wah Restaurant, a hidden treasure nestled on Talbragar Street in Dubbo, is a remarkable Chinese eatery. Not only does it serve delectable cuisine at reasonable prices, but it also boasts swift and efficient service. One noteworthy aspect of this establishment is their willingness to accommodate late arrivals for lunch, even when they close at 2:30. For aficionados of fine Chinese fare, Hing Wah Restaurant is the ultimate destination in Dubbo.
A hidden gem of a Chinese restaurant located on Talbragar Street. The food was delicious, as well as reasonably priced, and service was quick and efficient. Special props for them letting me eat inside even though I turned up at like 2:15 (they close for lunch at 2:30). If you love good Chinese, this is the restaurant to go to in Dubbo!
Adrian P — Google review
The food was good, however appalling service by wait staff. We were not greeted upon arrival, just stared at. We had to tell the waitress we wanted to eat in and we ushered into the back corner. The middle dining setting was broken, only being held up by a note pad. The wait for our food was extremely long, considering the lack of patrons. We had an infant with us and we were not once offered a high chair which made it extremely difficult to eat and hold a baby. I would recommend not eating in the restaurant because the wait staff are so appalling in their attitude. The only saving grace was the food.

Sharlotte. S — Google review
The meal was not delicious and they got my order wrong. After waiting for an hour did not want to go back to fix my order up wasted my money!!
Raelene G — Google review
My colleagues and I were visiting the Dubbo region and had a meal at Hing Wah chinese restaurant last night. The restaurant is centrally located in town with the appearance and decor of a typical chinese restaurant. The service was good and friendly however that’s where the positives end. The food was particularly disappointing, even not enjoyable. We selected three mains, a special fried rice and two entrees for $95. I love my chinese cuisine but I would NOT return to this restaurant.
Steve C — Google review
Visiting Dubbo looking forward to a nice Chinese meal the entree was burnt so there for very dry and then the main meals came out and all were very bland. The chicken omelette was drowned in a mysterious sauce very disappointing for $90. Wont be going.

The Pastoral Hotel in Dubbo offers a unique dining experience with its themed Freak Burger nights on Wednesdays, serving up different burgers and shakes each week. The hotel provides a family-friendly environment with an indoor play area for kids and acoustic tunes for adults to enjoy. The kitchen opens at 5:30 am, offering an eclectic menu of pub classics. Visitors can also watch their kids play while enjoying dinner.
Meals are much bigger than expectation. We had a chicken parmi and vego pizza and they were monstrous! We bought a small side of chips and they were super larger. We dined upstairs at the restaurant and the venue provided a superb experience. Staff are friendly. Food is amazing. Air conditioning is cool to the climate and the beer is epic
T T — Google review
Amazing! I have previously eaten meals via take away or delivery from The Pastoral when in town and the food is A+ on its own, we decided to dine in today and wow! I am rarely impressed to this extent, the food was amazing as usual, but the establisment itself was so well set up spacious and aesthetically pleasing with great energy! Customer service was on point even from staff that did not directly have to interact. The bathrooms are pristine and the kids corner close to the dining area was a great bonus! Would definitely highly recommend to anyone and be dining in ourselves whenever we are in town!

Very helpful staff. A lovely variety of food on the menu. I liked the salad. Others enjoyed the chicken. The outdoor seating area was comfortable and heated on a cool evening. Inside, the children enjoyed the playground. The courtesy bus meant that we didn't worry about driving home afterwards.

Great local establishment that serves delicious pub fare. Had the lamb shanks and sirloin. Just as good, if not better than most Sydney pubs - just without the ridiculously high prices. Drinks were also reasonably priced. Family friendly and obviously very popular with the locals. If you’re visiting Dubbo and want an easy and relaxed place to eat - this Hotel is the one.

Amazing food and atmosphere. Excellent prices and friendly service. The night club experience is A1 with regular out of town acts performing to keep it fresh also has great live music entertainment, karaoke and trivia nights. Certainly worth s visit.

Just popped in for a drink, they didn't have Guiness (my poison of choice) so asked the barman to make my wife and I, G & T's. Did a great job, had a bit of banter about Peking Duk who played a gig there a week earlier. Overall great experience - will pop on for a bite next time we are in town.

Our first holiday in our motorhome and Reception suggested a drive through site, it lessened stress. Then understood our needs as multigenerational family. Great on park play facilities for all ages, including e-bike hire! My grandson loved the inflatable pillow. Staff out doing grounds maintenance, cleaning every day. Amenity block was spotless. Walk to convenience store & restaurants, 5 min drive to zoo & other attractions, 5 min drive to RSL bistro where my grandson had a tender T bone cooked medium rare to his liking- he declared it best steak he ever had. Park was quiet at night, we had wonderful trip & this is now our park of choice

We also loved the lady with the big pink office chair -sorry I forgot your name!- thank you so much for being you. You guys rock! We will see you soon!

We stayed in the 2rm cabin which was clean and generally well kept. Plus: well kept grounds and facilities. Great location to access different places of interest. Minus: Couple of lights in the room and the exhaust fan in the toilet are not working but not a major deal breaker. However, my sensitive sense of smell can detect slight urine when the air con is turned on. Bizzare.

Such a great family park! Even though it rained, Ted still got a little play on the jumping pillow and the pool looked awesome. The kids’ areas are perfect, everything was super clean, and the park was easy to get around. Would definitely stay again! ☀️💦

Just passing through and stayed one night in a Family Budget Cabin, which was clean and comfortable. I was particulary impressed with the late check-in process. I rang from beside a noisy highway and spoke with a patient young woman who sent me a text with all the details which worked perfectly.

Drive in to reception and booking in was made family friendly and easy. Staff very friendly. Unfortunately will not ever return to park. Very unclean cabin with mould and mildew. I know this cannot be helped sometimes but when you receive a msg 2 hrs before check in that your room is ready. And when arriving at the cabin feeling disappointed of the cleanliness of it especially paying the amount we did. A lot of other dishearting factors which I have mentioned in review.

We stayed on a powered site for 5 nights. We cannot fault the staff. They are absolutely wonderful. The park itself is fairly well maintained within walking distance from Club Dubbo, Westside Hotel amongst other smaller food takeaways. Amenities are good but not clean. On the surface they appear clean but once you step in the shower, don’t look on the floor… tiles are slimy and in one of the cubicles a mass of hair was shoved in a corner. Disgusting. This was actually straight after the cleaner left…. If they were to clean their amenities hygienically and properly, we would stay here again .
Jenny T — Google review
Parked on an ensuite site for one night $78 during the second week of New South Wales school holidays, great location for the zoo and walk to pub for dinner For this price one would expect a simple bath mat or hand towel or both , we do hope that NRMA inject some more dollars into this park to keep up with the neighbouring upgrades in other parks in the area. Quite a shock compared to many in NRMA parks that we have stayed in Cannot fault the staff however they welcomed us and we’re super friendly

What a great attraction to have in Dubbo Well presentd and laid out park easy access for all ages and disabilities. Great grounds well maintained and clean. Not sure of the name but the Soldiers walk with all the Plinths and Q r codes was very informative Probably the only complaint is the Plinths and Bust of the RAAF piolt could do with a good clean regularly to keep the bird dropping of them makes it very hard to read a lot of the inscriptions and to take pictures Otherwise Two Thumbs up to Dubbo

Called in for a swim, travelling to the Elvis Festival in Parkes. Lifeguards on duty which was good to see. Problem is they would not be able to hear anyone requiring assistance. Real safety concern here as the loud speaker system was cranked up that loud it was intolerable. Others were complaining as well. The bloke in the office was happy cause he could listen to the local radio station punching out radio talk, adds etc without getting out of his chair. No toilet paper in two of the three male toilets. Best part of my visit was when me and my guests left.

Super cool and relaxed vibes at Press in downtown Dubbo. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Prices were very reasonable. Service was a bit hit and miss but didn’t detract from the experience. Predominately a breakfast/brunch spot…worth a visit if you’re in Dubbo

I honestly wasn’t expecting to be this impressed, but Press Café in Dubbo completely blew me away. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal — from the fresh ingredients to the beautiful presentation, everything was spot on. The breakfast was just bursting with flavour. You can tell they care about quality and detail. The staff were welcoming, the vibe was relaxed yet polished, and the place had that chic, rustic charm that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. If you’re in Dubbo and even thinking about where to eat go to Press. You won’t regret it. This is the kind of breakfast that makes you want to come back to Dubbo just for a second round.

Get here early if you're coming on a Sunday! I arrived at 7:55 and was about 10 in the queue! After opening at 8am they seated everyone very efficiently and my coffee arrived within 5 minutes and it was then that I understood why there had been a steady stream of people arriving since they opened. This was the best coffee I've had in Dubbo by some margin. A coffee that would not be out of place in the trendiest of cafes in Sydney's inner west. Service was friendly and efficient and my big breakfast was excellent. Prices were more Sydney than Dubbo but so was the quality.

We stopped for takeaway coffee on our way to Nyngan and were so impressed by the quality coffee/service/ that we dined in on our return trip. Definitely recommend both! Service made us feel special, food was spot on, coffee was top notch and the ambience in the rear courtyard eating area was amazing! Great history as well making good use of the old The Land newspaper offices! Not to be missed when visiting or passing through Dubbo!

I had the avocado, feta, tomato salsa and pistachio dukkah on sourdough (the bread was truly outstanding!!!) Danny was an outstanding server. He was thoughtful, warm, and really looks after you. I had to step away briefly before my meal arrived, and he covered my dish with a plate to protect it from the open fire soot. I admire this great attention to detail, and super grateful for how quickly everything was served. Thank you to the whole Press team. I’ll definitely be back!

Reflections Restaurant is a hidden gem in Dubbo, known for its delicious dishes and cozy atmosphere. The chef's creations are described as turning basic dishes into something divine, with flavors that keep getting better. Booking ahead is recommended as the restaurant tends to fill up quickly due to its popularity among regulars. The staff provides faultless service, adding to the inviting atmosphere of the place. Despite its unassuming location, this restaurant offers a sensational dining experience with cold beer and great service.
This has to be one of the best hidden gem restaurants I have ever been too! Hats off to the chef! The dishes kept getting better and better. The flavour of each dish was delicious. Taking a basic dish and turning it into something divine. You have got to book ahead for this one as they book out in advance. The staff service was faultless. The atmosphere was cozy, and very inviting. Don't let the location fool you, this isn't your every day restaurant. Great selection of wine and choice of other drinks. Enjoy!

Although the service was great I can’t even give them two stars because the food was that bad. Charging $29 for barramundi that was pulled out of a frozen fish box from Coles and thrown into a deep fryer is abysmal. It tastes like I’m being poisoned. Any chef worth their salt wouldn’t allow such a shitty practice in their kitchen.

Absolutely hats off to the chefs - the food is amazing! Room service last night and the restaurant tonight. Sydney classed chefs in a country town. I travel for work alot and it is nice to have great accommodation, great staff, and amazing food all in one place!

October 2022 On our first night in Dubbo, we had our dinner here. It is conveniently located at the same premise as our accommodation. We did not make any bookings, and were lucky enough to get seated. However, booking is a must as the place has limited seating. SERVICE Staff were great, they were accommodating and also attentive. AMBIANCE The fireplace was such a nice touch. It was good that it was on as the nights were cold. FOOD On the night we had arrincini balls with blue cheese sauce, steak, ribs and apple crumble. There's no BYO alcohol, but they do have a nice selection of drinks in their menu. • Arincini Balls - Couldn't taste the blue cheese for the Arincini, which was a bit of a let down. But the rest of our meal was delicious! • American Ribs - juicy and fell off the bones. The sauce was not over powering. It was very enjoyable. • Eye Fillet Steak - soft and cooked perfectly. It was served with roasted veggies. I think the carrots were glazed with maple syrup, it was quite interesting. • Apple Crumble - is not the average Apple crumble that you have in mind. This was like a deconstructed version. It was so good, I don't know how else to discribe it. ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If we had more time in Dubbo and if it weren't for public holiday, I think we'd have dined here more than once while we were there. It was a nice gem of a find.

Randomly find this place by one of my colleagues. Inside Quality Inn hotel. Didn’t expect to have such a great menu and food in rural area. (Had dessert as well just didn’t got chance to take pics, dig in right away) Everything tastes good with reasonable price.

Had dinner here during a work trip in winter. Atmosphere is very nice and cosy, they had the wood fire going. Team were very friendly and professional. I ordered the salmon which was cooked perfectly and the sides were very tasty.

Just stayed 3 nights at the motel and ate here one night. Food is spectacular. We had the seafood tasting platter for a starter and it was delicious. I also ate the rib eye for a main and was cooked to perfection. Better than any joints around me where i live in Sydney wish it was closer!!

The Reflections Restaurant is found near the Quality Inn however is accessed through its own entry. The parking lot, is easily accessed from the Newell Highway and provides ample parking spaces. The staff were very friendly and had us seated promptly. The ambiance was relaxed and facilitated conversation well. The menu had a variety of tantalising options and we were not disappointed with a single dish. The Lamb dumplings were our favourite, too quality. The most striking take away from the night, for me, was just how fast the food came out and to have achieved such a high quality. Further still the Panacotta is among my favourite desserts and their Yogurt panacotta with berries and butterscotch sauce was a delight.

Incredible food, amazing atmosphere, and top-notch service - one of the best Indian places in Australia. Royal Indian Restobar in Dubbo is a hidden gem that delivers an unforgettable dining experience. The fusion of authentic Indian flavors creates a unique and welcoming ambiance. The food is absolutely outstanding—each dish is packed with rich, aromatic spices and cooked to perfection. The butter chicken was creamy and flavorful, the naan was fresh and fluffy, and the tandoori dishes were cooked just right. Their vegetarian options are just as impressive! The service was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Whether you’re after a casual meal or a special night out, this place is a must-visit in Dubbo. Highly recommend!

Easily the best butter chicken and naan I’ve ever had and I have tried a lot of different places. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I was only in Dubbo for 2 nights, so glad I tried this place the first night. Was so impressed went back again the second night and tried the mango chicken. Will definitely visit again to try the rest of the menu! Thanks guys (from the bike guy :) )

Fantastic night. Attentive staff but not pushy. Asked how much time we wanted between courses instead of rushing us. The food was delicious and authentic. Lovely atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend

I’ve had many exceptional Indian meals over the years; places like The Clove and Zaafran come to mind. Royal India Restobar is on par with these restaurants. We went on a Tuesday evening and it was packed. Fabulously authentic food accompanied by excellent service. Dubbo continues to surprise with the emergence of some brilliant local restaurants. Congratulations to the owners of Royal India Restobar - you have created a wonderful dining experience.

We had a wonderful dinner for four at Royal India Restobar on Saturday night and were so impressed by the whole experience. The restaurant itself is stunningly over the top — lavish velvet seating, grand chandeliers, and rich colours make you feel like you’ve stepped onto a Bollywood movie set, right in the heart of outback Australia. We chose the Maharaja Khanna banquet and it did not disappoint. There was an incredible variety of authentic dishes — starting with beautifully spiced entrees like Chicken Tikka, Seekh Kebabs, and Onion Bhaji. The mains were just as impressive with Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, Vegetable Korma, and Palak Paneer, accompanied by fluffy rice, fresh tandoor cooked cheese and garlic naan, and cooling raita. Every dish was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. There was so much food — plenty to satisfy even the hungriest appetite — and the quality was consistently excellent across the entire banquet. Staff are very attentive and friendly. A truly memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
Wes — Google review
I can confidently say this was some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a very long time. The naan breads were exceptional—soft, fluffy, and incredibly tasty, almost like cotton buds. The kebabs were next-level, melting in the mouth—something I haven't experienced in years, especially compared to other Indian restaurants I’ve tried across Australia. The chicken tikka masala was spot on—full of flavour with a rich, creamy texture. It had everything you'd expect from a well-made curry. The service was also excellent. The staff were attentive, checking in multiple times to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. It’s rare to find that level of attentiveness these days. I spent $80, but honestly, it was worth every dollar. I was very hungry and looking for a proper feast—and this meal delivered. I left full and genuinely happy. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Sam S — Google review
The chandelier is definitely the showstopper! Lol but on a more serious note, the food was bursting with authentic Indian flavours, and the butter chicken was hands down the star of the night. Truly one of the best I’ve had ❤️ service was excellent. The staffs were warm and attentive regularly checking in on us which made our whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming

Consistently excellent value. We regularly attend the dine in and enjoy a variety of Thai style meals. Staff make you feel welcome and meals are always well presented and wholesome. Unfortunately the photos do not do justice to the quality of food.

We had dinner here on our last night in Dubbo. We ordered crying tiger and Thai Fish cake for Entree. For mains we had combination Pad Thai, Rose Gai (Fish fillet). For dessert we had deep fried icecream and fresh mango with coconut sticky rice. The entree were delicious. I really enjoyed the crying tiger. The fish cake was juicy and fragrant. Couldn't go wrong there. The mains was slightly average. I initially ordered Rose Gai with chicken, but we got Fish fillet instead. We didn't return it as I was already hungry. It turned out delicious! Combination Pad Thai was average. I think it was a bit on the wet side rather that the dry side. The bean sprouts and spring onion was cooked in, so was no longer crisp, also not enough nuts. I enjoyed the mango sticky rice, but my partner did not really enjoy his fried icecream.

We are travellers and came through Dubbo 3 years ago when we first tasted the food here. Well, we are back and stayed at the same caravan park, just so we could get the same thai food. The meals would have to be the best in Australia. Well done to all of you and thankyou for amazing Thai cuisine.

Whether you're in the mood for classic flavors or something unique, Domino's Pizza Dubbo has you covered with their delicious offerings that are perfect for any occasion!
Hopeless pizza . No chicken and no Peri peri sauce . Pizza not even cut. What kind of quality check you guys do . Very very disappointed. Not very good taste . Never recommend or try in future.
Sohan L — Google review
Absolutely disappointed with my recent order from Domino’s. I placed an order for delivery, and not only did it never arrive, but I had to go to the store myself to pick it up. No heads-up, no apology — just a cold pizza waiting for me at the counter , it was stone cold and definitely not worth what I paid for. If I wanted to go out and get my own food, I wouldn’t have ordered delivery in the first place. Really expected better service and basic communication. Not ordering from this location again.

Yesterday we ordered pizza from this guys one was chicken and one was veggie pizza as one of our mate don’t consume meat. But this guys messed up and put beef, pepperoni and chicken in veggie pizza. On calling them they said we are happy to give free pizza but thats not the solution that how these guys can mess up this big by putting every kind of meat product on veggie pizza honestly very bad.

Delivery was 1 hour late called the store and they stated they were busy and delivery would only be 25 minute wait , order arrived and was missing items called the store and got told they would send out the missing items straight away waited another 40 minutes and it still hasn’t arrived , called the store again to be told oh sorry will be sent out now then hung up. Absolutely terrible service , will not be ordering here again , if you want you food to be cold and missing half your order go ahead and waste your money. Staff are rude and obviously can’t do their job.

We ordered a deal tonight 15/4/25 from Dominos Erskine st, & they quoted $39 delivered 3 Large Pizzas & Garlic Bread & a bottle of soft drink. The driver arrive & tried to charge $46. Rang to speak at the shop & would not honour the deal. Now it’s not the money of $7 it was on their computer & they still would not honour it, so we sent it back. Cheers John & Kim
Kim D — Google review
I’ve been getting pizza from this dominoes for quite some time and in these past few months the pizzas I’ve picked up have not been good quality at all. This is not the first or second time I’ve received pizza with 3 or more slices out of each box that has no cheese or meat on them.
Alamata S — Google review
We ordered pizza from them three times, every time it is below expectations. Looks like the staff do not read instructions when we order it online. Last time I asked (same pizza)one pizza with no changes and another with barbecue sauce, no peri peri & no jalapeños. They did exactly opposite. This time again they put peri peri when I asked no peri peri. Base sauce is too much or very little, peri peri swirl is too much, base was dry. I understand that they are very busy but at least give your customer what they ordered.
Saranjeet K — Google review
First time I've ordered from this store. They seem too busy and overwhelmed since the store at the mall closed. Ordered 5 pizzas, 3 were OK. 2 were terrible. Thin and crispy should of been called crushed and soggy. Under cooked, poorly cut and thrown into box without any care at all.

Dubbo Regional Airport

Regional airport
Airport
Dubbo Regional Airport, situated just 8 km from the heart of Dubbo in New South Wales, serves as a vital gateway to this charming city and its surrounding attractions. As the largest regional airport in Central West NSW, it offers travelers a more relaxed experience compared to larger airports. The terminal is straightforward and user-friendly, making drop-offs and check-ins a breeze. While security checks can be thorough—especially for those with carry-on items—the staff remains courteous throughout the process.
The definition of a perfect little regional airport! Friendly staff, clean facilities, even the security staff were great to chat to! Located onsite is also a cafe which sells last minute souvenirs if needed! Charge bars are also located throughout the departures area so charging the phone is a breeze! This airport definitely makes coming and going from Dubbo a breeze!

Great little regional airport. Friendly staff, clean toilets, nice little cafe. Plenty of seats. Easy parking close to terminal. Tarmac walk is fully exposed, so dress for outside weather. Security staff were a little over zealous/unsure: allow time for minor queue delays. Good coffee.
Don E — Google review
Dubbo Regional Airport is a quaint little gem nestled in Regional New South Wales. As a small airport, it offers a refreshing change of pace compared to larger, bustling terminals. The simplicity of the airport is part of its charm, and it’s an ideal gateway for exploring the region. While it may not have the extensive amenities of larger airports, you’ll find a small cafe where you can grab a coffee or a quick bite. The basic facilities, though limited, serve their purpose efficiently. What Dubbo Regional Airport lacks in size and extravagance, it makes up for with its friendly atmosphere and the convenience of easy access to the picturesque surroundings of Regional NSW.
Rinku A — Google review
Great regional airport and they have the full security setup. This means a longer check-in but the advantage is bags and flights get seamless transfers for domestic Qantas customers. They also put your bags through for international flights with a Qantas flight number. This saves alot of time too. On top of that, Rex and Qantas fly from here. The Cafe is good, good coffee but the food is not great.

Farmers Markets
Dubbo Farmers' Markets take place on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month at Macquarie Lions Park. With over 60 regular stallholders, visitors can find a wide variety of fresh produce, meats, olive oils, preserves, and more. The market offers a village atmosphere and is known for its selection of local goods including fruits, vegetables, herbs, baked goods, and marinades. Visitors can also enjoy a fresh coffee while browsing the stalls.
These markets are great for finding delicious local produce. They have everything from pet treats to fresh eggs, jams, cheeses, wines and fruit and veggies. A great place to meet friends for breakfast on the weekend

Picked up some more plants for the garden. Prices were half what I would expect to pay at a nursery.
Rhys M — Google review
Interesting fresh local produce. A variety of stallholders. Largest cauliflowers seen in a long while for less than the price of the baby caulis in the supermarkets. Never before have I bought eggs with a hectares per hen ratio rather than the other way around. Delicious German style pretzels and pastries. So much more. Well worth the time on a chilly winter morn.
Daniel O — Google review
Quite a good market in a nicely grassed park with shady areas and plenty of space to amble. A good selection of stalls and friendly vendors. Of particular interest a very well stocked plant stall with a wide variety of seedlings and advanced plants. Go visit!
Gary J — Google review
Great to fill in a Sunday morning but these are not market prices. This is the most expensive growers market I've ever been to. Unfortunately this is the reason people buy at woolies instead. Its gone from a great way for local farmers to sell fresh produce directly to the public and turned into another yuppie wannabe trendy market. The atmosphere is great and is very family and dog friendly but as a market its lost sight of what its there for. Why is there a boutique wine stall at a farmers growers market?
BOBSHELL — Google review
A wide variety of local producers, and pretty reasonable prices. If it were on every weekend, I probably wouldn't need to go to the grocery store. Many of the stalls are also starting to take card payments as well which makes me spend even more of my money there.

Veldt Restaurant in Dubbo has been praised for its exceptional service and delectable food. The menu, crafted by Chef Brad Myers, offers a wide variety of options to suit every palate. The restaurant's ambiance, designed by Natalie Myers, provides the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. Despite its popularity and high demand, the attentive table service ensures that guests feel well taken care of throughout their visit.
Took my wife and son to Veldt for my birthday dinner- we had the slow roasted lamb shoulder for two and it was absolutely superb- easily the best Western style meal I've ever had in Dubbo. My wife also had desert and couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. The service was top notch too- our waitress was lovely- so all in all a wonderful experience and highly recommend. We will be back!

My partner and I throughly enjoyed our dining experience at Veldt. From the online booking until the end of the evening. We were surprised we gained a booking as quickly as we did. As we were only in Dubbo a couple of days, we didn't expect you get a booking. We did! From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted by warm, friendly staff. The meals were incredibly delicious and wonderfully tasty. We had not planned on dessert because we were so full from dinner but as they were so highly recommended, we decided to try to squish some in. The only regret was eating too much. The deserts were a gastronomic delight! We were also incredibly impressed that we were never once felt rushed. The atmosphere was warm, cosy and romantic. A wonderful experience at Veldt and we will not only be back next time we're in Dubbo, but we've highly recommended to our family and friends.

Dinner wirh friends, recommended as from interstate. Nice ambience, very good service and food. Quite relaxed, not rushed through courses as some restaurants do. Chose 2 seafood entrees as a small eater. Both very nice, well presented and nicely cooked. Tempted into a chocolate sphere for dessert - very decadent and the highlight of the meal for me. Parking at the door. Everyone in group of 6 enjoyed their meal.

Looking for a more finer dining experience we chose this restaurant this evening.. very popular....wish we booked much further ahead.. not able to get in until after 8pm on Saturday evening. But worth the wait. Very helpful and well weighted table service through out the evening. Meals well presented and very delicious. Happy to dine here again when next in Dubbo. See photos of mains mushroom and leek pie ad well as char grilled duck.

Good food well presented and good service. Prices were fantastic seeing a crappy steak at the Milestone around the corner was $36. Two of us have entrees and main and wine for $150. Good service. Only thing is the decor is a little"hotel restaurant" but it's only cosmetic and the food makes up for it.

Staff excellent. We ordered chef's recommendation of slow cooked lamb shoulder for 2 people. It was delicious and fresh vegetables well cooked. Only criticism was that potato mash too highly seasoned. Dessert of creme brulee beautiful. Excellent value for money.

Veldt Restaurant was a really good surprise in Dubbo. By the moment you get into the place you are sure that you gonna have an amazing experience. Friendly staff and delicious food. My partner and I had the 3 course meal and it worths every cent. Sublime!
Felipe L — Google review
1hr 45min wait for food. The serving of gnocchi was tiny, but they happily charged $30 for it. The blonde waitress seemed upset that she had to work, slamming doors and plates down. Felt very unwelcoming, what a horrible way for us to spend our engagement dinner. EDIT: since I cannot reply to the owners comment, the docket ("I assume") does not contain the time it took to get us seated, which was 30min. Thanks so much for the reply, usually owners struggle to face the feedback given.

Had a great time at the Dubbo tenpin bowling! 🎳 The staff were helpful and very polite The price was a little pricey for a family but besides that it was worth it! Had a blast! 😸

Worst experience. Booked a lane in advance as we live a hour away. On the phone I was advised that food and drinks were not allowed brought in to their venue. So we didn’t we arrive there for our booking. I enquire about what food that have for sale since we were told we cannot bring food in. The man tells me all they have for sale is a can of soft drink or a packet of chips I tell him what I was told when I booked and he told me he would have told me to bring food with as they don’t sell hot food the cafe is no longer 🙄. We then were over charged for an extra adult. When it was only me my husband and son playing and came to just under 100 for 2 adults 1 child for 2 games. Was corrected after I said something.. our booking was for 7pm at 7:45pm they announce over the speaker that they will be closing in 15 minutes. I go up to ask for a refund for our second game as the website states they close at 8:30 not 8 otherwise we wouldn’t have booked for 7. The lady looks at the man and says we closed at 8:30 last night and she’s saying the website says 8:30 why are we closing at 8 tonight he looks at his watch and he says I guess 8:30 is fine. We were not the only ones there most of the lanes were taken! Wasn’t worth the 1 hour drive there or back for the hassle.

Takeout Restaurant
Zenab Kebabs is renowned for its remarkable kebabs and exceptional service. The dedicated employees at this establishment possess a remarkable ability to recall customer preferences, while also crafting delectable kebabs that are both vast in size and brimming with an array of flavorful toppings. Despite its unassuming appearance, Zenab Kebabs consistently impresses patrons with their savory offerings. In conclusion, the combination of great food and attentive service make Zenab Kebabs a highly recommended dining destination.
At NSW Central West Muslims Association Dubbo, we often order catering from Zenab Kebabs and Pizza, and their food never disappoints. The beef and chicken burgers, along with their hot and spicy pizza, are always the top choice for our community events. Their customer service, timely delivery, and excellent event management make them a reliable partner for community gatherings, official functions, and special occasions. Highly recommended for quality catering and outstanding service. Great people. Great service. Well done Team Hasan at Zenab Kebabs and Pizza!

Travelling through the town. I stopped by to see a halal friendly option. Initially there seemed to be a slight uncertainty but it was cleared. They said it was halal and they don’t have non halal options so supports the claim of being halal suitable. The food was decent . Really nice roll. They needed some more drink options. Cola was the only option. Overall the food was good. Would recommend to try this place.

My wife had a kebab and gave it a 9/10... But I'm here to talk about the hot chippies.... I consider myself a bit of a hot chip connoisseur, and these hot chips, 10/10. Hot and crispy, coated with herbed salt etc... Go and get some. Good job boys

Just had one of the most delicious pizzas I’ve ever tasted! 🍕 If you’re ever in Dubbo, try this Halal pizza spot absolutely worth it. Flavour, freshness, and quality were all on point. Highly recommended!

Good staff, fresh made food cant compare with Sydney but at least you get reasonable items. Snack pack and pizza both were good 👍 A guy from Karachi Pakistan and Sardar ji from India both hard working guys 🤝 It gets quite busy often ✅

Delicious pizza and great service! The crust was perfect, and the toppings were super fresh. Friendly staff and a clean, cozy spot. Definitely one of the best local pizza places — I’ll be back for sure!

Sorry guys, The good reviews got me here, but this was the worse kebab I’ve had by far.. Beef Kebab with extra meat.. The bakalava was nice though.. It won’t let me upload a photo, but my finger is thicker than the kebab..

Very disappointing experience. My order delivery was delayed by more than 30 minutes everytime and there was absolutely no professionalism in handling the situation. The service was extremely slow, and there was no proper communication or apology for the delay. If you value your time and expect even basic customer service, I would not recommend ordering from this restaurant.

Comfort Inn Blue Lagoon is a relaxed accommodation option that encompasses a dining establishment and a lounge area. It also features an inviting jacuzzi along with an open-air pool filled with saltwater. The rates are affordable, making it an attractive choice for budget-conscious travelers. Conveniently situated in close proximity to the town center, it offers easy access to various fast-food outlets within walking distance.
Very, very pleased with the services provided at Comfort Inn Blue Lagoon, one of the few places I found that allow pets to stay in their spacious kennels. Room suite was of high standard and after leaving personal belongings behind, I was promptly contacted and they were couriered to my new address. Would happily revisit, thanks a lot.

After arriving on Sunday evening following a long drive from Brisbane, the first disappointment of our 2 night stay was when we were told the restaurant was "closed until Tuesday morning, but you could just walk or drive somewhere". The carpet in our "executive queen room" was filthy, (looked like it had never been cleaned, & our friends room was the same). The shower leaked across the bathroom floor, which obviously made it slippery and dangerous, so we had to put towels down. Hot water took ages to come through, so the choice was either to waste water, or have cold showers! The bathroom floor was dirty, especially on either side of the door. The AC didn't work properly, which made for 2 uncomfortable nights sleep. It was nice that the ancient wall fitted hairdryer worked, although the fact that the safety test tag stated it is 17 months PAST it's retest date pretty much sums up the level of importance they give to property maintenance. Room 113. Same problems as so many other guests who have reviewed the same property. Zero contact from the motel (booked via 3 party) prior to, during, or after our stay. We'll stay elsewhere in future

Upon making the booking we had someone who barely spoke English to take the reservation then a week later received a phone call asking us as to why we hadn’t checked in. They had booked us in one week prior to when our stay was supposed to be. Receptionist on arrival was barely able to acknowledge us. No room to swing a cat, let alone accomodate a family of 4. Nowhere to sit to eat meals, as the chairs provided did not fit underneath the table. Ended up consuming meals on our beds. No clock in the room & there were stains all over the furniture. Bathroom was dirty and the shower recess had the sealant propped up against the inside shower wall, of course water then everywhere. Barely any parking. So if you want to venture out after checking in, think twice. You’ll have to park on the street upon your return. After reading the reviews before me, I’m surprised that they haven’t been reported just on the disgusting conditions of the rooms alone. NEVER STAYING AGAIN
Kristi B — Google review
I pulled up with 5 kids and a caravan. The gentleman at reception was super helpful & friendly. I asked for a family room (1x queen and 2x single) & he quoted me $169. I ended up paying $160 after joining the rewards program associated with comfort inn and Qantas rewards points. I was able to get a ground floor room so that I could get the kids into the room safely & quicky. I was also lent a USB charging head so I could charge my phone. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean and fresh.

Wow great new menu. Some great no meat options. Was so excited to see a chef that can cook interesting creations other than steak and chicken . What a fantastic find. Just found this place as i was staying at the hotel next door. What a winning chef for Dubbo.

Good location but a bit far to walk into town. Good value for a short stay, friendly staff. Clean and reasonably spacious rooms but decor could use an update. Bed was kind of weird - sunk down in middle, but got used to it.
Juliette D — Google review
Have stayed for 2 nights. Great place to stay to have a quick sleep before exploring Dubbo and surrounding towns. Pool wasn't the cleanest but no biggie, still swimmable. We have asked for a bottom floor room and they were happy to provide it. No noise from neighbours besides kiddies running around on top floor in the morning, but who goes there to sleep in anyway? The place is next to a main road but no noise coming from the road (Dubbo doesn't seem to be a busy place anyway). Aircon worked well (although it did turn off during the night, but we were too lazy to figure out why). Bathrooms are clean, towels are good. Beds were changed every day and teas/coffess were added more as we used them.
Sabine M — Google review
Nice friendly reception. Very poorly maintained rooms. Carpet had strange lumps, tiles in bathroom cracked, windows cracked, blinds wouldn't close properly (had to put it back together to make it close), just the backing plate of the smoke detector was on the ceiling, bad position for toilet roll. Nice security - proximity cards, small safe in wardrobe (didn't need to use), some foxtel channels, comfortable bed.

Cafe
Alchemy on Victoria is a delightful haven for food lovers in Dubbo, having embraced new ownership since 2016. This charming café and Thai restaurant prides itself on offering fresh, healthy options that cater to various dietary preferences, including paleo, gluten-free, and sugar-free choices. The serene outdoor setting is adorned with lush plants and soothing water features, creating a tranquil atmosphere perfect for enjoying a meal. Brunch enthusiasts will find themselves enchanted by the garden ambiance filled with art pieces and cozy blankets.
We dined here this morning excited to see it re opened with new owners. The staff were very friendly and helpful! There was a great variety of options on their menu including gluten free options. The services was very quick and the food and coffee was delicious! We hope to see in the future them use the wood fire pizza oven as well! We will certainly come here again as it is such a great spot and has a great atmosphere.

We went out of town and looked for Thai food but we're disappointed. The outdoor atmosphere is pretty, a lot of plants around; the staffs are nice; good presentation of the entrée. However, the quality of the food just so so. Not as expected, especially the main course. The curry and soup were watery, mild flavour, the mushrooms still raw and the proportion was small if compared to the price. We ordered sticky rice, it was tiny and wrapped with plastic so we asked to change for steam rice... I've been to Thailand and know what should Thai food taste like. I don't recommend if you're looking for amazing Thai food. But if you want to have a chat with your friends with snacks, it can be an option.

Ordered a tom yum soup with coconut milk with chicken, a stir fried chicken, soft shell crab and red curry duck. Soup was yummy, soft shell crab so yummy too, the curry was yum but the duck was off, not fresh. Interior is comfortable, service is nice too.

A serene, tranquil place for a quiet meal, and yet just off busy Victoria Street! This place has it all; water features, lush gardens, and most importantly, delicious food from quality ingredients and produce! If you love good food and exemplary service, Alchemy is the place to be!

This generously spaced cafe features a terrific courtyard and a garden nursery. The portions were decent and there was a wood fired pizza oven as well. The coffee was above average and there were heaps of wait staff as well. The only diown) downside is the number of flies buzzing around but I guess that's Dubbo for you, and our order was mistakenly taken. Otherwise it's a fine café and a recommended visit!
Dan A — Google review
The food is delicious, family friendly prices and a wonderful atmosphere. Yes the seating is mostly outside, but there is plenty of outdoor heating to keep it cosy. The staff are warm and friendly. While pizza is their staple check out the chef's specials for a taste sensation.

Super great experience to having dinner there with friends, wonderful atmosphere and service as well! It’s the best Thai food here in Dubbo! Gotta try their Thai milk tea, although a bit too sweet for me the the flavor is exactly right from local for sure!! Definitely will go there again

Perfect place to have brunch in a garden surrounded by art pieces with Warm soft blanket. Lovely place. Highly recommend. Honey comb grommet hot chocolate is super awesome! Rose option is so nice too, Can really taste the rose. Breakfast Panini is fantastic! The sauce! Ahh~ with spice. We bought a small jar of sauce from the kitchen. Best meal of the trip. Want more of this! Pancakes is really sweet with jam and maple syrup. There's cinnamon too, personally doesn't like it.
