Pfeiffer Wines offers an immersive winemaking experience where visitors can learn the art of muscat blending in a centuries-old barrel room. Guests can indulge in premium muscats and create their own personalized blend based on their preferences, while also learning how to use a wine thief to siphon muscat straight from the barrel.
We wandered into Pfeiffer on the early side of a wintery Sunday morning not expecting anything unusual. It was quiet but the fire was warming. We sat down for the 10-wine tasting and the grazing platter. And then, wow! Good wine after good wine and then excellent wine and then the fortified wines. This winery's wines were all to my taste and liking; all rich with character and depth. The lovely Kath and Ann guided us through the tasting explaining each wine and its origin with the passion and personal touch that comes from a family-owned business. Even during the sudden midday rush, we received all the attention we needed. So if you're up for a fantastic and personal experience with good wines all round, make your way to Pfeiffer. If you plan to get there around lunch, I'd recommend making a booking. We look forward to seeing the winery again soon.

What a sour little winery this is! - If you're not a local, don't bother. I was ignored upon arriving, then made to feel like I was interrupting a very important chat. All I wanted was to purchase a bottle of the Gamay for Mother's Day. Plenty of friendlier alternatives in the area. Avoid Pfeiffer is my advice.

Stopped by to try a couple of wines, ended up leaving with a number of rare fortifieds, some reds, some sparkling and fond thoughts of a great experience with Nicola and Toni. They were generous enough to let us try the rares. Great work on making us feel welcome. The location is beautiful, quite rustic and some interesting history. We really enjoyed our afternoon.

Had a wonderful time and tasting experience. The staff were very informative and friendly. The vineyard had an amazing variety of wines with award winning trophies. 🏆 Buying 3 bottles ended up in our wine tasting being free!! Looking forward to visiting in the future. Highly recommend 🍷

Excellent!!!!! Pfeiffers went over and beyond for our hens day! Pfeiffers called me the day before hand as we had a bridge booking, and the temp was mid 30s. The staff setup and the bridge and another area under the trees for back up! The umbrellas were all set up, and even though they don’t have a kitchen. The staff continued to impress. They walked eskies with water and ice down the steps and continued to come down and check on all of us! Great job Pfeiffers x

We booked in for the “up to ten” tasting experience and what an experience it was. Cathy was fabulous, personable, good humoured and knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to have Jen Pfeiffer drop past to say hi and to share some of the vineyard’s history to pass on her incredible wine knowledge. The tasting room is quite rustic with heaps of history and ambience. This is a definite destination spot when visiting the region.

Great location and vibe. Toni and Janice are so caring and helpful. They listen to customers really carefully and recommend different tastes they think we would like. My partner and I really enjoyed the time we had with those lovely women. It was also so informative about wine making and Pfeiffer family. Thanks to those people who made our day joyful.

I popped in a few weeks ago and had such a wonderful experience! A lovely lady called Toni, went through all the wines with me, during a tasting. It was fantastic! She has so much wine knowledge and passion for her work- we had lots of laughs and I learnt so much about wine in such a short time. She made me feel so welcomed. I'll definitely be back again soon and bringing all my friends!

Cofield Wines is a long-standing family-owned winery deeply rooted in the Rutherglen winemaking community. With a history dating back to 1909, the third-generation Damien continues the family's legacy by crafting premium wines sourced from various renowned regions including Rutherglen, King Valley, Alpine Valley, and Beechworth. The winery specializes in Method Traditionelle sparkling wines and offers an extensive range of regional white wines, reds, sweet, and fortified wines.
Cofield Wines are a must do in Rutherglen. There's an awesome restaurant, a lawn littered with chairs to relax with a book and glass. On the day we visited there was even a jumping castle. The wine tasting area offers samples without cost. Quartz restaurant is a standout for quality food with attentive service. The pumpkin salad was our hero meal in this region. Located directly on the Rutherglen Wine Bicycle Trail.

Wonderful friendly staff, beautiful location, great wines and dog-friendly! My pup got much love from staff and the residents winery doggos whilst I enjoyed the extensive tasting list. Excellent quality and good value for money wines. Next time I would like to try the restaurant on site as well.

Had a group booking here for 36 people, but due to illness, some were unable to attend. However, it wasn't a drama for the people there. Staff were fantastic, the food was delicious, the meals were HUGE and the coffee was really nice. Highly recommended. European Caravans in Oz....Rod Carter

We booked for lunch out on the deck of the Quartz Cafe at the winery but decided to do some wine tastings first at their cellar door. Friendly and helpful lady went through the tastings which by the way was free. Great wines. Lunch was super delicious and service was fantastic. Some great metalwork sculptures on display as well and these were amazing. A great day out and highly recommended. Well done Cofield.

Had a lunch at Quartz during the week. They had a midweek special 2 courses and a glass of wine . Food was delicious, my husband had a corn and cheese arancini and an eye fillet for main which was cooked medium rare. I also had the eye fillet served with kilpler potatoes and some kale and roasted tomatoes. We will be back again . Great service and the fire was welcoming on a cold day.

We went to Cofield Wines for a tasting and lunch. Damien - owner at the cellar door was a great host for the wine tasting. We went to the restaurant for lunch and because it was Wednesday they had a special. Lamb rump with seasonal vegetables $30 it was sensational, my partner had slow cooked lamb shanks in a red wine jus. The best meal we have had in our 12 day trip. Beautiful wines and meal. Thank you 🙏

Absolutely delightful lunch in a warm, cozy contemporary, dining space with an incredibly attentive waiter. My husband , 9 year old son and l loved the generous portions presented beautifully. As northeast locals, our only regret is not going to Cofield cafe sooner. It will definately be a favourite place to dine in the future.

We dropped in for an early tasting soon after opening on a Saturday. As someone who doesn't love a crowd, being the only couple there and having time to chat with the owner was a real treat. Thank you for a wonderful experience, hopefully we have time to stop back in for a meal next time!

All Saints Estate, established in 1864 at Wahgunyah, is a historic Murray River winery with a new cellar door and two upcoming restaurants. The estate features a crenellated folly surrounded by formal English gardens and offers an extensive selection of wines, including the renowned museum-class muscat made from 100-year-old liqueur.
Had amazing time here. The grounds are stunning. The tour of the cellars and wine tasting were excellent. Lunch at Kin restaurant was as a highlight

Lovely Winnery. Classic buildings and a super restaurant. We stopped by for a Pizza Lunch in the ordinary restaurant, which was great, nice environment and tasty food at a fair price. But there is a premium full service restaurant as well for special occasions. 😎👍👍👍👍

All Saints Estate is a classic winery experience with a modern twist. Cellar door Tastings are $15 per person, or you can enjoy a whole glass in the restaurant for roughly the same. There's an enticing menu inspired by local produce. Picnicing is encouraged in the formal gardens. There's an enticing line up of entertainment if you want to make a weekend of it. A destination worth seeking out.
Donna M — Google review
I had a terrible experience here. There are so many other wineries in the area that could be recommended before All Saints. I popped in to purchase a Mother's Day bottle. I purchased a single, mid-range bottle from the cellar door. The disdain and indifference my purchase was shown left a very sour taste. I stood there, awkwardly waiting to pay, for an eternity, while the server chatted with a customer about maybe joining the wine club. Every other winery I attended in Rutherglen and surrounds was a warm and endearing experience.

Lake Moodemere Estate is a sustainable winery located on the shores of Lake Moodemere, an offshoot of the Murray River. Run by Michael and Belinda Chambers, whose family has been involved in winemaking for seven generations, the estate prides itself on minimal handling and low intervention approach to winemaking. The Lakeside Restaurant & Wine Bar offers a taste of their produce with picturesque views of the natural surroundings.
Visiting the Rutherglen wine region with friends we were recommended to visit Lake Moodemere estate for lunch with a view - and was so grateful for the recommendation. Upon arrival we were offered a complimentary wine tasting by the owner which was so delicious that half of us immediately signed up for a membership. We then were seated outside with a view of the lake and a light refreshing breeze whilst we dined on delicious estate lamb (not to be missed) , curly beer battered fries and salad whilst sipping on a delicious, full bodied rose. Very reasonable prices, friendly service and our favourite meal of our stay! 100% recommend.

We went for wine tasting. Lovely location, wines are okay...but very poor hospitality. The owner was not too keen to explain much to us. His explanation of wines and the region to the people on table next to us were elaborate, whereas for us it was a sentence or two....typical. The french girl who took over half way through was sweet, lot more elaborate and friendly.

The estate is in a tranquil environment which is relaxing, and the staff were commendable. The pasta was absolutely delicious and so was the lemon tart dessert. The lady who bought out my dessert had even put a candle in it, as she had found out it was my birthday. It was a very nice surprise and made the day even more special. Thank you!

we had our wedding here on the 13 sep 2025. what an amazing place and the service was perfect. the food was divine and the wines were exquisite. highly recommended, and the service the owners provided was way and beyond what i expected. the actual winery is beautiful next to the lake and with its beautiful trees and old estate home was truly beyond belief. thank you so much. everything was perfect and we highly recommend everyone to have a wedding or private party here. thank you for everything

We had a wine tasting and lunch. I cannot recommend the wines enough, there was not one I didn’t like and that’s a first for any winery I have visited. Sheree took us through the list and was so knowledgeable about the product, family and area. It was so interesting. The sustainable practices also added to their story and may also explain one of the many points of difference with Moodemere wines. We followed up with an equally impressive lunch, the chef is to be commended. We were blown away by the slow cooked lamb (which is from the property), curly fries which were like clouds, breads ,dips and truly unbelievable spring rolls. We finished with a glass of wine overlooking the lake area. I don’t often leave reviews but our visit was so exceptional I couldn’t resist !

Campbells Wines, with over 146 years of experience in Rutherglen, is a family-owned winery that prides itself on passion and producing modern, characteristic wines. The fifth-generation winemaker, Bill Chambers, embodies the rich history of the region and the dedication to continuing the family's winemaking traditions. The hands-on approach and unwavering commitment to quality are evident in their range of wines.
I had the pleasure of spending a relaxing afternoon at the Sunset Drinks event held at Campbells Wines, accompanied by some of my family members. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, we were treated to a truly memorable experience. We started off by savoring a glass of Campbells' exquisite wine, each sip a testament to the craftsmanship and dedication that goes into their winemaking process. The ambiance was further elevated by the mouth-watering meal prepared by the exceptionally talented Chef Nick Gardener from Sticks Catering, who also happens to be the assistant winemaker at Campbells Wines. @chefnickgardner. The culinary delight included succulent chicken cooked in sage butter, perfectly paired with pearl couscous that added a delightful texture. The dish also featured charred corn, heirloom tomatoes bursting with flavor, and a smooth corn cream, all topped with the crispy, savory goodness of chorizo crumbs. To add a refreshing twist, the plate was finished with a pickled fennel and saffron salad, bringing together a harmonious blend of flavors that danced on the palate. As we indulged in this culinary masterpiece, our senses were further enchanted by a gifted local musician Patrick Russell whose repertoire included a selection of timeless classics. Patrick provided the perfect soundtrack to our evening creating a fun and relaxing atmosphere as the sun set, casting a golden glow over the vineyard.

Excellent wines, excellent staff and service and wonderful grounds. We stumbled across this winery and decided to visit based on the great reviews. Safe to say it didn’t disappoint and we will definitely be back. The cheese boards also looked amazing!!!

Visited Cambells Wines and had an unforgettable experience. The main highlight, of course, was their outstanding wine — an incredible selection, especially the reds, full of richness and character. We also enjoyed a beautifully prepared cheese and meat platter, rich in variety and flavor. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with warm and professional service. A truly special place for wine lovers!

One word: disappointing. The tasting rooms are stark and uninviting. The restaurant is tired and dated. Fake plants decorating the area make it look l tacky. Terrible music choice - something must be done about it. Tiles cracked and garden beds not maintained. Food was average. Fish was undercooked. Redeeming features: The cheese board in the wine tasting room was great, as were the wine tasting staff. Oysters were delicious and great value.

De Bortoli Rutherglen Estate is a renowned establishment in the Rutherglen Wine Region, with its Tuileries restaurant and cellar door offering an exceptional experience. The restaurant, located in the historic Jolimont Cellars, provides a superb dining atmosphere with a fairy-lit courtyard and fountain. Guests can also enjoy comfortable accommodation overlooking picturesque vineyards. The wine tasting experience is highly praised for its informative and entertaining staff who are not pushy to buy.
Had a dinner in a rainy night in their wine bar. The waiter was very kind! Food wise: the quality and the quantity were good. The soft crab was very tasty, the cheese platter was delicious (loved the crackers!), the dessert with the fairy floss a funny experience. The location is well designed too.

4.5 ⭐️ The service was impeccable from the wine cellar to the well trained restaurant staff. Ambience is cosy and you could easily nestle in for a chunk of time with a great glass of red. All of the food was great, although the steak could be seasoned slightly better. The wines alone are well priced and worth the 5 stars.

Lovely dinner out in Rutherglen. Interesting and tasty dishes, everything we tried was consistently great! I think it’s a high 4 star since nothing felt like a standout or was particularly memorable. I would neither rush to come back nor rave about it. Definitely a great place to dine out though.

We visited the cellar door in Rutherglen today, we are very glad that we did. We had an amazing tasting with Paul, he was informative and entertaining. We worked in Cellar doors in the Margaret River region so it was lovely to compare and talk wine with Paul. We tried some amazing wines and of course had to buy. We’ve done a lot of tastings over the years and this has been one of our favourites. Thanks Paul, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with you. Would also like to say, the venue is amazing. Great accommodation in Rutherglen. Ample space within the apartment that was well appointed. Bernie at the cellar door was fantastic and took the time to really showcase all the wines on offer. Wonderful location with a short stroll up the main street, great tennis court and a brilliant mini bar stocked with great De Bortoli wines at the cellar door prices - win!

29/7/25 A new exhibition featuring Lockhart River artist Patrick Butcher Jnr and Anmatyerre artist Kudditji Kngwarreye is showing under the title of "Colour Fields". The cellar door offers tastings in a relaxed environment with tables and seating provided. The tasting experience is enhanced through a collaboration with Aboriginal Exhibitions Gallery with paintings hung at the cellar door area and a large gallery to the rear. The gallery is part of the North East Art Trail which includes The Plough Inn at Tarrawingee and Must Love Dogs in Rutherglen. 29/12/22 Went with a group for a tasting of some whites. The Prosecco and the White were standouts with the latter having won multiple awards. The cellar door staff were attentive and provided helpful information on the wines. A Turbo Brown exhibition has replaced the Lockhart River works over the past week and two pieces have already sold. The works are striking and the animal and bird subject cannot help but make you smile. Purchased a case of six 2020 Shelly's Block for $48 which is a real bargain. A good selection of bin ends is still available. The gallery holds a large selection of works from Trevor "Turbo" Brown, a Victorian artist with works held by many public Australian galleries. His whimsical subjects are guaranteed to raise a smile. 12/3/23 Tastes of Rutherglen weekend where we attended the wine masterclass with our host David. Superb range of wines offered with their Renaissance range and sparkling Shiraz Durifs the standouts.

Very clean and well-furnished rooms - everything you'd need for a short stay provided. Big rooms with comfortable beds and good advice about the local area from the front desk. Great for if you're just stopping by briefly or for a longer stay in Rutherglen, and suitable for families or individuals.

I stayed at Motel Woongarra July 24th, 2025. I found the room to be very clean, comfortable bed and there was virtually no traffic noise. as a result I had a relaxing sleep ready for the big day of work ahead. An added nice touch was that the owner called me on the way to Rutherglen to confirm when I would be arriving and to my delight, found the room to be nice and warm, as the heater had been put on. Thank you and I look forward to staying at the motel again on my next business trip to Rutherglen. Stephen G Melbourne.

Good country motel, clean, quiet, comfortable. Excellent location for a Rutherglen stay, with easy walking to a number of wineries and the charming little Lake King nearby for nature walks.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable, we couldn’t have been happier. Very welcoming were Steve and Jo and you could see that on arrival how fresh and clean the property was, even down to the kerb outside the rooms, all freshly painted. The rooms had all been refreshed recently, the buildings recently rendered and painted , bedding all new and very comfortable and comfortable couch. Short walk to town and hotels, cafes and restaurants. Cannot rate this motel more highly

Pizza restaurant
Nestled on the picturesque grounds of All Saints Estate, Bonnie is a delightful lakeside pizzeria that perfectly embodies a relaxed family dining experience. This charming eatery, named in honor of the winery's Scottish roots, offers an inviting atmosphere with its country chic decor and artisanal wood-fired pizzas. Guests rave about the delectable Stella pizza topped with prawns, confit garlic, and chili oil—an absolute must-try!
The pizzas were fantastic, the pizza bases were on point and toppings, delicious. The wife and I enjoyed the coffee and the kids are accommodated with a kid friendly selection of drinks. Worth coming here even if you are not a wine drinker. The grounds are well maintained creating a welcoming atmosphere, with a rich history and the staff were fantastic and happy to explain the history and the processes in producing fortified wines and mascots. Definitely will be back, see you again soon.

We had a delicious meal seated outdoors in the shade. Our pizzas were fantastic and so was the almond & lemon curd tart! The scenery and grounds were beautiful. Highly recommend for a relaxing lunch.
Sarah R — Google review
Popped in for lunch today with the kids, food and drink were lovely! Pizzas had creative blends of flavors and were just lovely! Only comment from me would be including a couple of child friendly options and another dairy free option (perhaps a dairy free cheese). Not being picky, just have a child with allergies and there was only one menu item he could have. We were lucky enough to score a bottle of brut here when it wasn’t available at the All Saints Cellar Door. Worthwhile checking out for lunch if your at All Saints.

Nice pizza in a gorgeous setting. Also enjoyed the spritz.

We had the steak and a caesar salad. It was sensational food. Great view over the water, great service and the music was awesome. I considered this to be reasonably priced considering it is in a winery, on that we matched the meal with a great bottle of red from the estate.

Great view of the vineyards, and little pond with ducks, and a lovely sunny day to sit outside. We had some snacks, none of the mains or pizza this time, but we'll definitely be returning for it.

Restaurant
The Pavilion Restaurant at Buller Wines offers an impressive lunch experience that is skillfully curated by the Chef/Owner. The three-course degustation menu strikes the perfect balance, providing just the right amount of food to leave patrons feeling refreshed and satisfied. Each dish is flavorful without being overwhelming, allowing guests to savor every bite and discover new flavors along the way. The appetizer serves as a delightful reminder of hunger, while the wagyu main course showcases its centrality gracefully.
Amazing lunch! Thanks chef Drew for your fabulous food. Everything was delicious. We loved the steaks, they were melt in the mouth and perfectly cooked. The sides were really yum too. Nice glass of wine to accompany our meal and nice atmosphere. Thanks to Jess and Indi for taking care of us too. We will be back again and again.

Lunch is one of those meals that is very hard for a chef to plan well. Too much and the guest is uncomfortable, too little and the guest wonders why they have spent the money. The Chef/Owner at Ripe has got it right. We had the 3 course degustation for lunch and it was perfect, just the right amount of food to leave you feeling refreshed, your taste buds tittlated and even having learned a little along the way. The entree was tasty yet just enough to remind you that you were hungry, the wagyu wasn't overwhelming and heavy, which it could have been as the centrepoint of the meal and the desert was light, sweet yet tart and reminded you that the whole thing was worth the trip. Next time I think I will try and give it a go for dinner.

Don’t waste your time and MONEY! It was appalling. They had an answer for everything: Wait time: not able to get staff Menu items not available: Food delivery didn’t arrive. Vegetarian options: Only 1 option, remove prawns from Pasta dish. We booked over a week before attending. They should have notified us before we arrived that they only had enough food and staff for the other group that was in the restaurant that day!!! By the way there were only around 30 people in the restaurant altogether and 10 of them were us!!! There are many other beautiful restaurants in the area. Over priced rubbish. We are local to the area and will never go back!!!

We had a wonderful late lunch here today - we were very kindly allowed to attend the restaurant quite late. The food was delicious and M had a great glass of red. The service was excellent and presentation lovely. We are from Adelaide but pass through Rutherglen regularly - though this is our first visit to Jones Winery. Thank you Arthur and team Patricia & Mike

We had a fabulous experience at Jones’ Winery. The staff at the cellar door were knowledgeable and took us through an extensive wine tasting. Wines are reasonably priced. The food at the restaurant was fantastic. High quality produce and full of flavour. The highlights were the lamb, the caramel pumpkin cheesecake and the lavender pudding. We were given complimentary bread, butter and chocolates at the end, and we thought it was great value.

Had lunch at Jones Winery a couple of weeks ago and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service was lovely and there was a good vibe with the staff where they were just happy. The food is delicious and well presented. I felt the portion sizes were fair and I left feeling satisfied. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner who is friendly and welcoming. The winery is also dog friendly and that's a win in my books. I will be returning to Jones Winery when I visit the region again.

Rutherglen Big Wine Bottle is a unique landmark that wine enthusiasts and curious travelers should not miss. This water tower, resembling a wine bottle with a mesh top added in 1969, stands as a testament to the town's rich wine industry. Situated on a hill, it offers stunning views of the town and valley below. The structure was initially built as a water supply backup before becoming an iconic tourist attraction.
A great bit of history for the Rutherglen township. Congrats to the creative Festival committee. What a great idea. I recommend a visit. It's free.

We really enjoyed Rutherglen, food was good, wine at Deboteli winery was delicious. Very nice place to visit for the day.

The Big Wine Bottle is one of the many "big" tourist attractions across Australia. It is a water tower, which became a backup supply once the new reservoir was constructed in 1945. The mesh top section was erected in December 1969 for the Rutherglen Wine Festival and from a distance gives the effect of a large wine bottle.
Daniel T — Google review
You cannot miss the Big Wine Bottle when visiting Rutherglen. Perched onto of the hill overlooking the town and valley below, it used to be a water tower. Now a unique tourist attraction. How cool to be The town in Australia that has a Big Wine Bottle. Go Rutherglen!

Huge wine Bottle in Rutherglen. One of the many hidden tourist secrets you need to find in small towns.. This one sticks out so go find it and read up about its history of why its there.. Great view of Mount Buffalo, falls creek and Victorias highest peak Mount Bogong. Chambers Rosewood Winery & Vineyards is a charming, family-owned establishment with a rich history dating back to 1858. The winery has been in the Chambers family for over six generations, and today it is run by Stephen Chambers, who took over operations in 2001. Visitors can expect a warm welcome and personalized service at the cellar door, where they can sample an array of wines made on-site.
My wife and I drove up from Melbourne yesterday on our way to Yarrawonga to celebrate my birthday. I love this winery and had the pleasure to to a wine tasting privately. We ended up taking two boxes home. Moscato Muscatel Boutique cordial A wonderful experience and so happy we stopped.

Had an awesome time at this winery! The staff were super friendly and really knew their stuff—they made the whole experience fun and informative. The atmosphere was really welcoming and laid-back, perfect for just relaxing and enjoying some great wine (also the tasting is only $5 which is a steal). Their Muscat was incredible—easily the best I’ve ever tasted. If you’re into wine or just want a friendly atmosphere this is a must visit!

I had likley one of the best experiences at Chambers Winery! I booked for an early tasting as they opened. I love older, more rustic looking wineries, and this is just thst with all of the wines made on-site. It was a slow day, and the lovely staff took me for a tour of everything from the fruit picking to the maturation chambers! All while sampling some of the best muscat, and wines around. Could not have had a more lovely time. If you are in the area go visit them!

A brilliant place to visit, and pleasant walk away from the centre of Rutherglen. Helpful staff, and a rustic, warm and welcoming winery to visit. The winery is described as "young and fun," offering different takes on traditional wines with genuine craft knowledge. Loved our visit here, there wasn’t a single wine we didn’t like and we also sampled the Muscat gin for something a little different. Staff were personable and knowledgeable. Nestled in the heart of Rutherglen, Silver Key Cafe is a delightful spot that promises a memorable dining experience. This charming cafe has garnered attention for its diverse menu, featuring scrumptious gluten-free options and standout dishes like their homemade potato cakes, which have been hailed as the best around. The veggie burger is another highlight; it's not your typical patty but rather a delicious potato cake topped with avocado, pineapple, and beetroot—truly a unique twist!
Love to swing by this place whenever we are passing through Rutherglen. The veggie burger is fantastic - it’s basically a potato cake with the lot (inc avo, pineapple and beetroot) 😋 Why more places don’t do their veggie burgers like this is a mystery to me. Beats a veggie patty any day!

Such a shame to bring home a slop of soggy fish and chips, combination of old chips freshly cooked chips. what a waste of $40. Don’t waste your money!
Ema P — Google review
Very disappointed with my experience at Silver Key. We waited over an hour for our takeaway order, only to find it was missing a lamb burger and three cocktails. When I went back to sort it out, the staff were unprofessional — one of them even slapped the refund money down on the counter instead of handing it to me. Totally unacceptable behaviour and not how you treat customers. Won’t be returning.

One of very few places in Rutherglen to get food later in the day. Once inside, it’s more of a fish and chip shop but the burgers are definitely more of a burger bar style! They had the potential to be 4 star worthy but the patties were tough and over cooked. The toppings were super generous and really cheesy which we loved. Potato cakes were lovely! Would definitely return to give them a second go at the burger.

The guy there was awesome and made a really good breakfast for us. We was taking other orders and cooking at the same time. What a legend. Eggs Benedict and Breakfast Sandwich was very tasty.

I have been to this place twice now. The first time unfortunately cafe options were out of hours but I still found a way to spend my money. How you ask? Well this place is wall to wall memorabilia. Talk about a nostalgia trip for me a walk down memory lane. But thats not all if you like the footy, car, food or anything like these there is stuff for you as well. Sinage, Illuminated signs, neon, figurines. You name it they got it. So I had to make a second trip and this time had an afternoon cuppa and scones with jam and cream. Wow was it good but the jam yumm. Not had jam so good for a long time. This trip gave me the opportunity to really absorb what was there. Not only did I take a trip down memory lane but it gave me time to see what having a quick glance wont let you see. This is one place you cant go past, good for brekky, light lunch and morning and afternoon cuppa's and oh yeah make sure you have a cake. See ya soon.

Can't recommend the Pickers Cafe & Collectibles enough! Upon arrival they bought out a highchair for our toddler & even some games to keep him busy. Their babycinos are SUPER frothy. Chai Latte was honestly perfect. Gf waffle option (although i forgot to ask for them to be gf - whoops ) are absolutely amazing. Perfect. The vege frittata went down so easy. There is gluten free options & the kids menu has a good variety. And to top it off the service was so friendly! There is also a water bowl outside for furry family members. We will be back for sure!

Wineries & Vineyards
Stanton & Killeen Wines, a historic winery with seven generations of experience and 143 years of tradition, is nestled in the fertile lands of Rutherglen. The vineyards boast 90-year-old Shiraz vines that produce outstanding fruit for their exclusive and unique wines. After a brief closure in the 1930s, the vineyard was revived in 1968 by Norman Killeen, who married into the Stanton family.
This was the BEST tasting I have had at a winery, so warm and friendly yet passionate thank you Stuart. It was so refreshing to see someone else hold a small-batch high quality mindset and beautifully articulate that in a rustic and cozy manner. From the moment we entered, it did not feel commercial - more like a family of passionate wine-makers eager to share their project with you. This was the only wine tasting where I did not feel rushed, if anything we felt like we overstayed the session after a good 40 minutes of discussion and also a mini tour of the barrels and back area which Stuart kindly shared with us as it was a quieter day. The wines were delicious and I would highly recommend their full bodied reds , but of course the main reason I decided to choose this winery - THE PORT. We purchased an exquisite $120 port which was one of their premium ones however even the base port was delicious. Well worth the money, and I can't wait to have fond memories every time I sip on the port with my husband and family who came up to Rutherglen with us. Wineries should actively seek out people like Stuart - they are rare. In a fast and high volume transactional world, it is a golden moment to meet someone who cherishes prime quality process and outcomes such as the wines at SK. I can't recommend this more, and will be doing a lot of shout outs at my cooking school when we discuss wine pairings and recommendations for Victoria. I went to that IGA you recommended to get that special local Lamb and it was DELICIOUS - good recommendation and a nice NYE celebration. Thank you Stuart! Warm regards, Tanya from Heavenly Morsel

We had a fantastic hens day party hosted by Stanton & Killeen. Sarah and Sam were so helpful in organising the day and ensuring everything was in place when we arrived. Zalan and the other staff were wonderful on the day, greeting us with a delicious on theme cocktail, having everything ready for our paint and sip, yummy platters and providing a fun tour of the cellar. There were multiple beautiful spaces for us to use, a shady outdoor area, cellar door, barrel room and the speakeasy. Wines were delicious and generous. Great value for money too! Thank you so much for having us and providing a wonderful experience. I highly recommend S&K for events and to visit for their cellar door experience.

Great wines . We arrived on Sunday the 26 of October and Jess served us, excellent customer service. Knowledge of wine was excellent. Was run off her feet but still made us feel welcome. Thank you Geoff

Fantastic experience today. Came in for a tasting and the staff member was absolutely amazing. Really friendly, great for a chat and knowledgeable about the wines. Passionate about the brand and a fantastic ambassador. The wines were delicious. We weren't pressured to buy anything (but did happily). Wines and fortifieds were delicious and unique. Each flavour was distinct and tasting notes on point. Overall, very impressed with the visit and will be recommending to friends and family to visit.

Had an absolutely fabulous wine tasting with Jess who had a great sense of humour and knowledge of the wines. Took us through the whole tasting with such fun and a good laugh. Definitely visit here!

We came in for a tasting that was ran by Ellen and Jess yesterday. They were extremely knowledgeable and made the whole experience enjoyable! This was our favourite tasting experience in Rutherglen. Thank you for having us! We will be back 😊

Absolutely fantastic winery with so many different varieties that I've never tried but am eager to include in my wine rack going forward. Beautiful location with a positive and delightful atmosphere. Perfect spot to spend a couple hours with friends or family. Was extra pleased to meet the *infamous* Josie the Jack Russell from the latest Quinta Quarterly whilst there. *Special shoutout to Steve who made the tasting superb with his engaging, fun and informative style. Can't wait to come back!

Amazing time at the Stanton and Killeen Muscat Blending Experience. Natasha took us on a very informative tour of the wine making facilities - so much history! Then we did the muscat blending with winemaker Adrian carefully explaining each step of the process. It gave us a genuine experience of how the wines come together. Best of all, we got to take away our own specialized bottle of muscat refined to our exact taste :)

The best winery around Rutherglen. Flavours are bold. Wines have body. Their Durif is a step above everyone else’s.
Louis N — Google review
What a gem! We were recommended this winery for their durif so were really looking forward to tasting last weekend. We opened the door to a hum of busy-ness. Staff greeted us immediately even while handing bubble wands to visiting children. We had a really enjoyable tasting, loving the warmth the staff showed to everyone. We loved the 2019 Durif, and went home with a box, and will join as members too. Thoroughly recommend
Ingrid H — Google review
I first visited Warrabilla winery about 20 years ago with the Austin Healey club of Victoria when we stayed in Rutherglen. Their Durif is the best Durif I have ever tasted. We filled up our Healeys with their wonderful wines. Sadly my husband died 14 years ago and I stopped being a member of their wine club. I joined again over a year ago . I run a small wine club and recently I took a bottle of Smithy’s blend and it won the wine of the night and today with the delivery of my annual wines I received 2 dozen Smithy’s blend as well that I ordered for wine club members. I highly recommend visiting Warrabilla when you are in the area. Cheers Jill

Wine club member here - aside from this being the best winery in Victoria, their customer service is amazing! Had some courier issues with an order, spoke to Amy and she resolved things immediately. She turned a frustrating issue into an outstanding outcome. Love your work.

Best big red wine maker in the world. Arrived late but looked after very well by the friendly helpful staff. Couldn't ask for more. If you like your wines big, with tastings across multiple vintages, this is the must goto winery of Rutherglen for old style wines with huge dollops of fruit and tannins. Wines that will keep improving for years and years!

Buller Wines

Winery
Buller Wines, a well-established Victorian winery, has a rich history dating back to the early 1920s when Reginald Buller first cultivated the now 22-hectare Buller Wines Estate Vineyard. Today, owned by three local North East Victorian families, the winery continues to produce distinctive wines from its low-yielding fruit. In addition to their renowned wines, Buller Wines has expanded into gin and whisky production at Three Chain Road.
We spent 4 nights at the Buller accom and I can't imagine a better location. As far as the accom they were great, really modern layout, nice linen etc... There's a couple of places they could improve but nothing critical and they took on our feedback really well. The winery itself is so accommodating, and fun. You don't feel pressured to have to buy anything, you can just taste and enjoy their space. Yet their product is so good we organized an entire shipment back to our home in Melbourne. Anyway, great people, great place, fair prices.
Aldo M — Google review
We visited the Buller Wines Vineyard Accommodation and was pleasantly surprised by the thought and detail they put into these cottages. The bed was so comfy, shower pressure was super and the coffee was on point. We found peace, quite and views for days. Will surely be back very soon! Oh sid I mention their Prosecco - dreamy!

We turned up at 10am for a spontaneous wine and gin tasting. Our host was so passionate about his work and had very extensive knowledge of the winery and surrounds. What an amazing experience, I absolutely love listening to people talk about the things they love. The gin was amazing, especially the dry gin. The grand topaque stole the show though, it was incredible
Shannyn ( — Google review
So much more than just wine there's something for every alcoholic at Buller Wines! We arrived near the end of the day and the owners were incredibly personable and patient with complimentary tastings. Lots of range in price points. They also offer grazing platters to enjoy on the rear lawn. Buller Winery is a short bike ride from Rutherglen, just 500 metres off the Wine Trail.
Donna M — Google review
What a great place! The wines and fortified were amazing, varied and plentiful. We didn't taste a single gin or whisky, but I understand they're just as wonderful as the delicious, well-priced wines and fortified. If you like a good drop and friendly and knowledgeable staff - make sure to stop at Buller!
Julie V — Google review
This afternoon we visited Buller Wines and had the very best experience at the cellar door than we have ever had in over 40 years of wine tastings. Peter was the best host ever. His wine making knowledge that he shared with us was exceptional. He was extremely friendly and accomodating. We tasted a great array of red and white wines and fortified wines. They were all awesome. We will definitely be returning to Bulller on our next visit to Rutherglen. Overall brilliant experience that is highly recommended. Thank you very much Peter.

Called in for a cheeky gin tasting, my husband had the wine. Enjoyed with a gluten-free cheese plater, in their spacious gardens. We Recommend Buller wines, they do have a restaurant but we didn't go to that.
Sal M — Google review
We had such an amazing experience, it’s very kid friendly, which made the visit so enjoyable for the whole family. The two lovely ladies who looked after us were warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. I highly recommend Buller Wines for a relaxing and memorable wine experience!

Very welcoming and great concept of "make your own cheese platter." The Smoked Trout Dip was devine! Such great service and wine tasting. We had a lovely bottle of James & Co Durif and a Rose' in the open, funky dog friendly back area .. we loved it! This is such a gem in Rutherglen...

You can’t go wrong having a cellar door/bar in Rutherglen’s main st. Very relaxing place for a pre-dinner drink. The James’s are both very lovely and easy to chat with.
Claire T — Google review
I must leave a review for anyone keen on wine, particulary red wine. I stumbled across James & Co in Rutherglen, approximately 2 years ago. Not wanting to walk out empty handed, I purchased a bottle of Sangiovese Cabernet. Staying in Beechworth, I tried the bottle the next night for dinner ……. Amazing!!!! The following day I returned to purchase a dozen bottles for when I arrived back in Melbourne. Needless to say, I’m on the mailing list, and receive a couple of purchases a year. Do yourself a favour and drop in to grab a couple of bottles, you will be back. Cheers 🍷

Had such a fabulous day touring with Woody for our recent ‘’Back to Hometown’’ tour. We visited 5 boutique wineries, a detour coffee stop and a visit to the cattle yards on request!! A memorable fun day spent with friends. Looking forward to booking another tour, maybe a mystery one, or country thrift, or all things big 🤔

What an absolute fabulous day we spent with Woody and his Kombi! Each winery had a delicious selection of wines, whiskey and gin. The day itself would not have been if it weren't for Woody! Thank you so much for making our day so incredible! And putting up with our singing! Highly recommend this experience! 😁🍷🍺🍸

Over the seniors week 4 of us took a trip to Albury. We hired Woody from Little Kombi Company On Wednesday 9th October to take us all on a winery tour. We were picked up and from the beginning Woody was so personable and happy. There were 3 drinkers and 1 non drinker. Communication was brilliant with fast replies from the gegco. We did a 7 hr relaxed tour and we all had fun, great lunch at De Bortoli and fabulous choices of wineries and distilleries which suited our tastes. Can not recommend Woody and his brilliant concept more highly. If in Albury/Wodonga, just do it. You will not regret it.

My friends and I recently had the absolute pleasure of going on a winery tour in Beechworth with the wonderful Woody! The tour itself was incredibly well-organized, and Woody was passionate about the destinations we visited and made sure we all felt comfortable and had smiles on our faces all day. He went above and beyond in ensuring we had the best day and we couldn’t be more grateful! The van was not only super clean and comfortable but also beautifully decorated and had a speaker, chilled water and lolly snakes inside too 🥰Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just looking for a relaxing, wine-filled day, Woody nails it!🍷🌈🫶

Had the best time with Woody for our winery tour. He was booked out but organised with the other group to juggle both of us and the other group kindly agreed to it. We had a great day, Woody organised the itinerary and was prompt and such a guide for the day. Nothing was too much trouble and even offered to do a stop at the iga for dessert on the way home. The kombi was awesome, so well looked after including water bottles and tunes. Not to mention a personal photographer for us. Highly recommend will definitely be booking again if we head back down there! Thanks Woody!

Morris Wines, an iconic winery in Rutherglen with over 150 years of history, is known for its tradition of combining old-fashioned methods with modern techniques. The vineyard is one of the oldest in the region and offers a unique experience with its extensive tastings of reds and fortified wines. Visitors are greeted by friendly staff and can enjoy a warm and welcoming environment while learning about the winemaking process.
The new cellar door must be seen to be believed (don’t miss the bathrooms 😄) It is truly a work of art and the decor and use of local timbers is just stunning. Michelle? took me through a flight of great whisky’s and it was great to see that Morris has become the latest Whisky Club clubhouses with all the great benefits that club members derive 🥰🥰. This cellar door is a must if you are visiting Rutherglen.

This is a most impressive and modern cellar door. With tasting options for wine, whiskey, gin and beer, plus food options as well, something for everyone. I went for their wine and dessert wines, and these were purchased, but did not expect the high quality in their whisky and gin range, that also made the box of joy I took to the car. An enjoyable, and educational, experience.
Mark E — Google review
Had a great experience here yesterday. The staff were knowledgeable about both the wines and whisky and were happy to help. The venue itself is stunning as well and despite the cool weather was perfect inside. Highly recommend the whisky and wine flights.
Jarrod C — Google review
Very impressive building and surrounds. Great amenities. Very stylish. But such a disappointing wine tasting experience. No charm. No chat from the serving staff - just paid wine tasting on a tray and charge not deducted from purchase of wine - disgraceful. Wines were beautiful, though. Experience was not.

A beautiful winery with a really nice space to sit and relax. I photographed a wedding celebration here so would be the perfect spot for a small event. Staff were really lovely

Exceptional service, great wines, beautiful scenery! We arrived around 330pm on a Wednesday afternoon, we didn’t make an appointment and still got a warm welcome. We were offered to taste wines for free and had the greatest chat with the staff member (I forgot to ask for his name!!). We didn’t have to buy anything even though we tasted 6-7 drinks but trust me, you will want to take a bottle home! So we did buy 4 of them on the spot. :) we got some great tips about campsites in the area and now ended up in a beautiful spot (for free!) at the riverfront thanks to the recommendation we got. great experience and warmly recommended!

Bill Chambers, a notable figure in the region's winemaking history, often reflects on the family-oriented spirit that permeates this establishment.
Fantastic lunch here on a beautiful Saturday. There guys have got a very interesting menu, very gourmet style food here, and I loved how they have wine paring suggestions with each item on the menu. We decided to sit in the courtyard dining area outside, loved the eclectic feel to this place. We began by ordering coffees, and they were perfectly made to our liking. After coffee, we ordered the fresh house made bread with Dukkah and olive oil as an appetiser, and for mains I had the chilli dusted baked Sardines, and the missus had the potato gnocchi. Wow! The food here is just next level, and they are very fast service too. The owner lady was very engaging to her customers, friendly and very professional hostess. Prices are pretty good here, considering the quality and calaber of the food and the overall dining experience. 6 stars if I could give it.

We contacted Pickled Sister Friday afternoon to enquire about options for a bikeride picnic for the following day. The staff were so helpful and accommodating, especially with dietary requirements. We had the most delightful 3 courses packed with all the required cutlery, crockery, etc. The food was so awesome. We rode to various wineries who all were great in allowing us to use their tables to eat and also to select the perfect accompanying wine. Can't recommend this service enough.

What a gem. Planned a pub meal at the Vic in the main drag of Rutherglen tonight but fully booked Took myself 4 doors down to Thousand Pound, geez I’m glad I did ! Just myself, had 4 of the starter dishes (tuna, pork, beef, chicken) - cracking flavours ! Open Thurs - Sat nights Terrific staff too - strong recommend, will go again !

Lovely quiet night in Rutherglen, which was prime ground for a lovely drink and exceptional food. Staff were welcoming and friendly and the beef skewer was a brilliant combination of Asian fusion flavours. Next time I’ll be back for a full feast.

We had a lovely night .. food was tasty ..staff were friendly .. company was good .. we had MBS7 sreak with mash, rainbow trout with kiffler potatoes and then we had muscat affogato for desert. All was top notch. Do yourself a flavour and check it out.

Our recent dinner at One Thousand Pound wine bar epitomised how skilfully crafted food, served in a relaxed yet attentive atmosphere, can be utter joy. To the kitchen, bravo. Front of house, also, bravo. Accolades to the menu writers, we would have liked to sample everything. We noted the focus on local wines too. Special mention of the Murray Cod salad, yum. Both the food and wine demand your attention, congratulations to the team.

Truely wonderful experience! The service was exemplary from start to finish and at the same quality as my meal - a true joy! I got the Venison Pho - my favourite food is Pho and I’ve been to Vietnam a few times, so finding a new favourite bowl was surprising and joyful. Do yourself a favour and heat a TP Negroni while you’re at it Thanks Thousand Pound!

We had a great night at Thousand Pound when we arrived to Rutherglen. The starters we had were amazing - duck wings!!! The artichoke risotto was surprising good with a lot of artichoke but the steak was a bit blue compared to the medium rare that we ordered. Our host, Tiernan, was amazing and gave us great recommendations to go with our meals. But all the staff were great. Would recommend!!

Dropped in early evening for a chill out before going to my intended camp site on the Murray River. I was alone for most of my visit but a group turned up and I had a conversation at the bar. I enjoyed the wine & beer! The decor is good too. Very friendly & smiling staff to be had here!

Whenever I visit Rutherglen, this restaurant is always top of my list for places to eat as well as a great selection of wine. Always enjoy the tapas style starters and the hanger steak is cooked perfectly.

Gooramadda Olives is a picturesque olive farm that offers an impressive selection of table olives and olive oil varietals. Located in a charming timber outbuilding surrounded by three olive groves, the farm provides tastings of their fleshy green king kalamata, rose-scented koroneiki from Greece, soft-textured Spanish manzanillo, and fruity French verdale olives.
A MUST place to visit in Rutherglen! What a wonderful experience we had with Rob, he is so knowledgable, friendly and welcoming. We walked away with so much knowledge about olives, olive oil and dressings. If you are an olive aficionado or just want to give it a try, this is the place for you. Highly recommended!

A must when visiting Rutherglen and surrounds. We have been visiting for 5-6 years and this place consistently delivers the BEST olives and the BEST olive oil. Our house favourites are the Gooramadda style olives and the Hardy’s mammoth oil. Their products are in a league of their own and visiting is a must to have a chat and learn about oil and olives. It’s no surprise their produce wins awards year after year. Thanks so much!

We had such a terrific tasting experience with Rob at Gooramadda Olives on Sunday. We've made many trips to Rutherglen without visiting this gem of place - now it will be a regular. The olives we tried were the best I've had, and Rob was very generous with his knowledge. Recommend this to anyone who loves a good olive.

What a gem! We had a lovely time with Rob, generous with tastings and also with his hospitality. Entertaining, informative and very very good quality products. Ill be putting in regular orders for my friends who live locally, to bring with them when they visit us in SA. Thoroughly recommend.

An impromptu visit to this seemingly small boutique olive grove, was full of surprises.Awards galore, not only for the amazing varieties of olives and pickled olives , but also for various other in shop goods.Rob taught us how to savour olives , and eat them like connoisseurs, and matched them with wines and cheese. No pressure sales, just a thoroughly enjoyable visit. Thanks Rob👏🏻👏🏻

Wedding venue
During the Tastes of Rutherglen wine festival in 2023, a group of individuals discovered Olive Hills Estate and were immediately captivated by its picturesque and relaxed atmosphere. They were amazed by the delectable wines and the secret family recipe for their pizza base. The staff, who seemed more like an extended family, were welcoming, passionate, and attentive to their needs. Additionally, two charming dogs added to the charm of the place.
I was lucky enough to photograph Sally and Narelle’s wedding here last March and let me tell you, what a venue! Olive Hills Estate is stunning with its iconic fig tree and high tower, its charmingly rustic barn and its beautiful outdoor canapé/reception area, especially at sunset. Olive hills hosts picturesque views in every direction and provides an abundance of gorgeous locations to take photographs and capture some great memories. The staff are brilliant and the hosts take it to the next level as well, and the wine definitely doesn’t miss either. This was my second time there and I can’t wait to hopefully be back for my third one day soon. What a place to get married and throw one big celebration!

Beautiful Winery with some great wines. We just got back from the "Tastes of Rutherglen" weekend. Some of the better wines we tasted were from this winery. I particularly enjoyed the rose. The entertainment (music) was playing when we arrived and was very good and much appreciated. The setting here was very nice too. We're looking forward to when we're next in the region.

Visited this beautiful Winery on the King's birthday weekend. Wow. The best wines on the whole trip came from here. Outstanding service and very friendly owners and staff. Found my new favourite winery in the region with the best wines. Will definitely be back there soon. Thanks for a great time, Ross and Kay.

Bakery
Rutherglen Bakery is a cozy breakfast spot with a limited but special breakfast menu. The raisin toast, although thickly cut, can be a bit cold, and the coffee might be on the weaker side. However, the pleasant courtyard and free wifi with a whimsical password make for a charming atmosphere. They also offer great smoothies. Additionally, they are known for their hot, soft, and fresh bread available at a special price when buying three loaves.
Great breakfast food, simple but delicious - no smashed avocado here! Outdoor eating area and scrummy bakery items

This cafe has a special breakfast menu posted - there are only a few breakfast places in town. My raisin toast was thickly cut, but a bit cold, and the coffee a bit weak, but we sat in a pleasant courtyard, and wifi was free, and even had a whimsical password. They are set up to make really good smoothies, that's what I'd order next time.

The Salad rolls that my wife ordered were really nice..... BUT!. At 1:30pm. Today. The girl making them missed half the order..... she wasn't listening. The third Roll was never made. So the was to be recipient of that salad roll quickly bought a sausage roll so as not to keep waiting longer. We were now out of time. Maybe get your girls to listen and get the whole order... writing things down never killed any one ? We had already walked out of a bakery across the road because the service there was shockingly slow. Maybe your takings might even go up? Thank you

Overcharged on order, limited cake selection. Needs to get staple likes ie. Apple turnovers, lamingtons. Reconsider your prices, you are not a restaurant.

Best Chinese meal I have had in years. Good service, clean kitchen, fresh and absolutely delicious food. Good value. Will certainly go back. Worth the drive. Left really satisfied. 5 out of 5

We really enjoyed this small town Chinese for lunch. For the $18 lunch special - a meat and fried rice - was excellent value for a quality Chinese dish. It was super yum! The service was very good - the time to serve was very quick. Fir good pub Chinese this was great. Recommend.

Still waiting for our food after 45 minutes!! Tables around us who came much later were served before us! When I asked where our order was they apologised and said it’s coming ! Still waiting!!! After another 15 minutes part of the order arrived! We were told ‘very sorry about the wait the chef messed up’ not good enough! Still waiting! Part order arrived and my vegetarian Singapore noodles arrived after a further 10 minutes part. Very disappointed- the noodles were gluggy and overcooked and wet! Not at all like Singapore noodles are meant to be. Overall a poor experience. Spent $57.50 on 2 pieces of spring rolls, small steamed rice, vegetarian Singapore noodles and a pork dish. Spent $22 on draft beer waiting for dinner. My grandson was falling asleep by the time dinner arrived.

Entry off the side street. Usual country chinese restaurant, with lots of different nationalities working in the same place. Lunch pack was plentiful, filling & reasonably priced @ $20 for dine in. Service was fast & friendly. Sweet & sour pork was delicious and well worth the money. I thought the fried rice was a little bland. Would eat here again if in the mood for chinese.

A little confused getting there first time, but this Chinese restaurant could be moved to Wangaratta and not be out of place. Or anywhere else. My Food was served on a hot metal plate and was delicious..I will go there again soon. The cooks are genuine masters at their trade and I ducked in to say thank you all..velly nice with flied lice LOL. My Chinese friends thought so too

Horrible service!! I called to place an order, the woman on the phone was very passive aggressive and rude! An older Australian woman I didn’t get her name. When I arrived to pick up my order, 3 vegetarian fried rice I noticed there was meat. I asked is this vegetarian? Which obviously it wasn’t. The rude lady butted in and glared at me and said I didn’t ask for that and that she took my order. I said I 100% asked for vegetarian which she aggressively pulled each one out whilst shaking and said well you’re going to have to wait then. I had to then wait another 15 minutes for my correct order. I have worked in customer service and know that you can have a bad day but that was no reason for her to be so aggressive towards me! Definitely needs and attitude adjustment!!

Beautiful quality chicken, no fat - wrapped in bacon and stuffed with herb pesto and a cheese. It was topped with a delicious marinade/ sauce🩷🩷. We had a lovely dinner there tonight after the Victoria Hotel would not serve their full menu to dog owners in their beer garden. What a lucky find though with Grace: lovely staff, great food and excellent local wines. We loved all of it. Highly recommended.♥️

We went there on Tuesday night, billed as their Neighbourhood Night. Only one main and one dessert. Service was very good and meal was also very good. Atmosphere was convivial. Only negative was the exorbitant wine price. One bottle was $60 more than the retail price from the Winery. That's almost 3 times the retail price. I understand the need to make a profit but cannot condone this magnitude of mark up.

Had a fantastic time here for a small family celebration. Staff were super friendly and attentive with good banter. Good was delicious too and of course the wine! We also got a few cocktails which were also yummy. Items in the picture include the gnocchi, flathead fillets, croquettes, potato cakes and the ham and cheese puff.

Awesome experience! We sat at the bar and had a phenomenal dinner. Erica, one of the owners, personally served us some incredible wine and food and also gave us some recommendations. Went for the neighbourhood dinner, and it didn't disappoint. Will be returning for another feed and to try the cocktails!

We had an amazing meal at Grace Bar Rutherglen! The house-made sourdough was the perfect start, followed by the prosciutto and cheddar croquettes – absolutely delicious. The standout was the eye fillet steak – melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Beautiful food, great atmosphere, and top-notch service. Highly recommend if you're in Rutherglen!

Excellent food, outstanding service. Thank you for being so accommodating for us with our boisterous (but hopefully polite) young kids. Will be back for a date night without the kids for sure.

What a find. We lucked upon this wonderful restaurant in the main street of Rutherglen. Wonderful service and food (especially the desserts) as well as wine selection. Lovely ambience.

My 2nd visit and it was fabulous again. Service friendly and professional. Food outstanding. The steak tartare served on a potato scallop was to die for. Great wines. Highly recommend

Bar
The Victoria Hotel Rutherglen is a historic 19th-century establishment with cozy accommodations. It features relaxed rooms and offers amenities such as a pub, beer garden, and playground. Upon arrival, guests are warmly greeted and directed to the comforting wood fire to escape the cold. The service provided is exceptional, and the food served is outstanding.
Had the pleasure of visiting Rutherglen over the weekend and came across a gem in the Victoria Hotel. This establishment has been beautifully restored to an incredibly high standard. The accommodation is luxurious, the bar is well stocked with a focus on local producers. The meals were exceptional, we loved the steak, trout rillette and pillow bread (plus a special mention for the hot chips that were seasoned perfectly). Wait staff were very attentive and the hosts Matt and Kate were extremely helpful. We highly recommend a visit.

We dined here last weekend. The place is amazing and has been so tastefully renovated. We will definitely visit again although I do have to say we were disappointed with our meals. The entree oysters was great, then there was quite a large gap before our main meals arrived. The scotch fillet was tough and chewy and cooked medium not medium rare as requested. The pork was okay but both meals were on the cooler side not hot. The most interesting thing was the service was amazing and very very attentive until our main meals arrived and then they lost interest in us quickly, -nobody asked how our meals were or how things went which was a bit of a red flag considering the delay for our mains to come out. Although our experience was disappointing, which is contrary to a lot of the reviews, we would love to return and visit there again.

We had lunch booked for 8. On arrival the welcome was good but once seated at table the lady serving rushed us into ordering a drink without being able to relax for a few moments and look at drink list. Then so shortly after tried to get our order. When we said we were not ready as only had been seated for a few minutes, it was then quite a bit of time before she came back to the table. One drink was so long in coming. The main meal was so disappointing as it is expensive. The lamb for two was not of the quantity it should be for 2 and then two side plates were given to use for the 2 people. These were cold. The pork chop was not done sufficiently. The other lamb was apparently not very tasty. The only good meal out of 8 was the steak!!! The music was poor on the day just a loud, unpleasant sound - you can do much better than this. I am afraid we are locals and cannot recommend The Victoria at present. I hope it improves.

We chose to spend my significant birthday at The Vic with a good friends. It was everything we could have hoped for and more. The hotel accommodation was absolutely gorgeous and extra touches in our room such as chocolates and a free drink card just added to the welcoming aspect. We were able to use the library together before dinner, which really created a fabulous atmosphere. Having drinks outside on the balcony was just a perfect way to start the evening. We had dinner in the private dining room “Gollings”, and the food was spectacular. So plentiful and delicious. My friends are all still raving about it. Beth was a wonderful hostess making sure that our drinking requirements were constantly filled! I cannot recommend The Victoria Hotel highly enough. I want to relive every single moment. Here’s cheers to the next significant birthday. Thank you for giving me the best birthday ever.

Wow described our experience, we stayed in the beautiful, freshly renovated room, upon arrival we sat in the courtyard and savoured locally produced Rose of French style, then had a magnificent meal in the main dining area accompanied by a fantastic Pinot noir (also local produced), all the staff were amazing. I must say the Victoria hotel is a must visit and we will definitely be back. Rutherglen is a pretty town and deserves more than one night as there is heaps to see a do, can’t wait to come back.

I was in for lunch on Saturday for my sister-in-laws birthday (party of six). Wow the hotel looks amazing, staff and food also excellent. The young man who served us was friendly and professional. We all had a great experience and can't wait to come back. Loved the menu and option to share dishes around the table.

Our dining experience was simply superb. The Victoria Hotel restaurant is an oasis of fine dining in rural Victoria and set amongst some of Australia's finest vineyards. Our meals (eye fillet, Tuna) were delicious and wonderfully presented. Service was 1st class...we wish that there was a similar "pub" experience in Brisbane. Well done to all the staff.

My partner and I dined at the hotel. The service was wonderful without being over powering. Thoughtful suggestions and insights from Beth - the staff member who looked after on the evening. The food was great. Try the pillow bread as a starter - my partner who is of Italian heritage said it reminded her of own mother's dish of the same kind. We finished the evening with a sampling of 4 local Muscats - another great suggestion from Beth. Highly recommend
