El Bolson in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in El Bolson, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
El Bolsón is known for its scenic Andean setting, surrounded by forests, rivers, and snowcapped peaks that make it popular for hiking and outdoor activities. The town has a long-running artisan market where visitors find local crafts, regional foods, and microbrewed beers. Nearby attractions include Cerro Piltriquitrón, with its viewpoints and carved “Bosque Tallado,” and lakes and valleys suited to day trips. Its relaxed atmosphere and focus on nature and small-scale agriculture give it a distinct, laid-back feel compared with larger Patagonian hubs.
With favorites like La Anónima, Awka Cervecería, and Plaza Pagano, Feria artesanal El Bolsón, Río Negro, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Los Lúpulos and Tomaticán so you can get the best taste of El Bolson while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Very beautiful art all around. From knife making , to the traditional bombillas , sweets , empanadas , painting, jewelry and so many things. Enjoy 😁😎🤗

Nice plaza and beautiful grass and sculptures. I like the fact you can sit on the grass and enjoy the mountain views. It would be great if they added benches. However they have seats with no back support if you desire.

Whether you prefer to dine indoors or outdoors, this place offers a wide variety of craft beers including blonds, reds, stouts, IPAs, honey, and raspberry beers on tap. The menu features classic Argentine dishes such as milanesa al caballo along with mainly fast food options.
Great place to have some beers! We tried the honey, raspberry and black beers, all were pretty good! Service was excellent, lovely outdoor seating.
Jieying Y — Google review
Top spot! Tasty food, friendly service, and great vibes. Their craft beer is excellent, brewed with their own hops!
Alejandro F — Google review
We visited El Patio Cervecero on a very slow off season week, so it wasn’t to lively or packed. Still they offer a very good menu, some local dishes, good beers and friendly staff. I’d imagine that in the summer season the place rocks and the outside patio looked amazing! I went for a fruity beer, not bad, maybe too acidic, goulash (very good!) and no dessert even though they do have a few options available. I think this place, and the small plaza where it is located, is a great spot to visit and grab something to eat and drink. Don’t miss!
Paulo P — Google review
Beer, service and atmosphere was excellent. Nice place to sit in the shade and enjoy the day
Robert Q — Google review
Food n beer soso but great atmosphere.
April L — Google review
Go for the atmosphere, charcuterie boards, or to try a bunch of beers. Food all pricey and the wine was bad, did not finish it. But thats what you get for ordering wine at a brewery in El Bolson.
Jimmy P — Google review
The best honey beer I've had in Argentina! Happy hour pints were $3,600, great value for money, and a lovely view of the mountains!

Nice place to share some craft beers with friends. FYI: Avoid the Raspberry Beer: taste like cocktail instead of proper beer...

Jauja is a popular late-night spot in El Bolson, Patagonia, offering artisanal ice creams with creative flavors and a variety of desserts and cafe dishes. The establishment has gained fame for its tempting ice cream flavors such as Andean chocolate with walnuts, dulce de leche with brownies, and calafate berries with sheep's milk.
They sell the best ice cream i’ve ever had.. Also the workers are very nice and helpful
Pi N — Google review
Can’t speak for the ice creams but we ate in the restaurant last night. Staff were very friendly and fast but the bolognese pasta was extremely bland and flavourless. Salad was nice though, and prices are very reasonable. They also took my allergy seriously which was appreciated! Edit - we tried the ice cream too. It was fine. Not anywhere as good as we’ve had elsewhere, so 3* seems fair.
Sam C — Google review
Nice spot, with nice outdoor seating and inside. However prices to be re-checked: two orange juices, one espresso, one yogurt pot (pretty good) and one minuscule empanada for 22,000. Not even in the centre of Rome
Dario T — Google review
Got an average iced latte from here. Order an extra shot as it only comes with 1. That said, good place to sit and use wifi if you are passing through or need to hangout. Cool side garden area that is outside.

Nice ice cream. Many choice of taste. Best in town.
April L — Google review
The aroma of the coffee filled the place when we came in, the service was a bit slow because of the high number of clients. The coffee foam was not integral, but the coffee was good, and a glass of soda was served beside him.

La Anonima is a budget-friendly grocery store in Patagonia that offers mostly edible products. Compared to other supermarkets, it is significantly better. It provides a wide range of groceries at affordable prices, making it the go-to choice for purchasing all your food items. However, during the peak season, availability might be limited. Similar to other chains, long queues are common at La Anonima.
Decent store with most of what we were looking for. Like most places we've been in Argentina they didn't have boneless chicken for sale. No peanut butter either.

A cozy and welcoming spot! The beer is excellent, with happy hours available. The staff is friendly and speaks English. The food menu offers a wide variety of dishes to choose from.
Hương T — Google review
We were greeted by a very warm and welcoming bartender, which immediately set a great tone for our visit. The place has a cozy atmosphere and offers a wide variety of in-house craft beers. Based on our preferences, the bartender kindly recommended a few options and even brought us six labeled shot glasses with different beers to sample before making our choice. We ended up ordering a pizza and the salmon—both dishes were absolutely amazing. The prices are fair considering the quality of the food and the overall experience. It’s the kind of spot you’ll want to come back to.

Los Lúpulos is a popular spot known for its delicious pizza and Argentinean cuisine. Visitors rave about the great view of the plaza, good service, and fresh juices. The Faina, made with garbanzo beans, is highly recommended, especially the one with Provolone. The empanadas are also a hit and come in various flavors like sweet corn and spinach.
Nice place to get pizza, great view of the plaza, good service, delicious fresh juices. I ordered the Faina, it is made with garbanzo beans and I tried the one with onion and the one with Provolone. Both were good, but the Provolone was by far my favorite. (Frankly I'm thinking of buying a few more pieces to take with me for the next long hike, lol!)

Positive: - pizza was great. Reasonably priced - waiter was quite friendly as well To improve: - it was eastern holidays and the restaurante full of families with kids having a great family time and all of the sudden they cut off the music and put a football match on the speakers, completely ruining the moment for everybody. You could tell how many people started staring at the game and even some were chanting (kinda awkward).

Quaint little place, great parrillada. Friendly waitress. Love the red wine we order. Wheelchair accessible. Love the painting on the wall. Very clean..Meats cooked just right. The French fries were one of the best I've had !. Would definitely recommend if you come to El Bolson Argentina.

The service is nice and kind, and the food is delicious, as well as served really fast. You should try the milanesa with french fries and fried eggs. They are well cooked and taste delicious. Also, they offer pasta with the right amound of sauce, which makes you feel like you are tasting a classic homemade dish. The bad side of this place is the lack of ventilation: you could expect to take the smell of the kitchen with you and in your clothes all day long.

(Translated by Google) What a good place! Everything is spectacular, from the table service, the interior and exterior setting, the drinks, the presentation of the dishes... Then there is the food, which is at a higher level. We sat inside at some little tables where you had to sit on the floor as in Japanese culture, but after a while we decided to move to the garden to be more comfortable. For starters we ordered a special ceviche, it was so delicious it didn't even last 2 minutes on the table. We ordered three dishes to share: Pad thai: Good size portion, just right seasoning, we didn't have such high expectations but we were surprised, it was the dish we liked the most. Tonkotsu Ramen: The pork stood out the most in flavor, although the broth was also delicious. The noodles were a little thicker than we are used to, they lacked a little cooking for our taste. Sushi table of 24: Of the 4 varieties of pieces, the one we liked the most was the smoked trout. The delicious passion fruit gin. The delay of the dishes was normal. We spent 138 thousand pesos for 3 people, the prices are a little higher than the average but they are justified by the quality of the service. PS: They do not accept credit cards.

We had our favourite dinner in Argentina at La Gorda last night. We shared the vacío al horno de barro, which was mind-blowing to say the least. Paired with a delicious Malbec, and followed up with a decadent chocolate ice cream desert ensured we left full, fat and very happy. All of this cost us $810 pesos (around US $40) - great value really for a meal of this caliber. Go on, spoil yourself - your future self will thank you for it after.

The restaurant is tucked away a little bit off of the main street, but it gets really busy and has people waiting for tables until as late as 23:00 / 23:30. The dishes are excellent!! There was an off-menu lamb dish I had that was exquisite!! Not as pricey as I expected, but not cheap either; either way it's really worth it!

Amazing Dinner, slightly stressed but amazing friendly service staff. We arrived late and did not have any reservation. It was during the week but still booked out. We needed to wait approximately 25 min and received a free drink for the waiting time. Waitress were very friendly. Bife de chorizo was extraordinarily good, sorrentinos de verdura was super. Best food we had in Patagonia!

The staff were very friendly! Food was just ok in my opinion. They were out of fish when I visited which limited my options considerably as I don't eat meat. Vegetarian pasta was OK. Overall the service/hospitality definitely outperformed the food - although even that was very slow as there were only 2 waitresses and a lot of people to serve.
