Zoo
Zoomarine Algarve in Portugal is a marine park that offers an array of attractions for the whole family. Visitors can enjoy seal and dolphin shows, explore an aquarium, and relax on a sandy beach with slides and a wave pool. The park is renowned for its diverse collection of marine animals, including dolphins, sea lions, and birds of prey. One of the highlights is the opportunity to interact with dolphins through the Dolphin Emotions experience, where guests can swim with these incredible creatures.
You cannot imagine better education, fun or water park than this! I really admire the people that organize it ❤️❤️ We spend 2 full days with our 7 year old daughter and it passed by like a second! We visited all the shows and they are all so funny, educational and nice to watch! Our favorite and most funny one are the Pirates one 💕 There are a lot of options where to eat, we choose “all you can eat one”. There is decent food choice and a lot of fresh salad and fruits. Can really recommend it! We tried also all fun attractions and really liked them all! Bonus are butterfly house and the oceanic house ❣️ Overall experience really 10!
Vanja P — Google review
Zoomarine was absolutely amazing, it is one of the best theme parks i have ever been to. It was so clean and organized. I love the option to bring in our own food, I only wish there were more vegan options in keeping with the educational theme of protecting our oceans, being more mindful of species diversity and being champions for conservation. The shows and exhibits were wonderful and educational. The rides were so much fun and since we went after the summer rush, it was perfect in terms of the weather, ability to get onto rides multiple times with little to no wait times. Our four year old had her first introduction to both roller coasters and water slides and it was perfect for that as well. She will have to be 6 before we can swim with the dolphins and we will definitely go back for that experience. I have worked at Disneyworld, Orlando and I didn't think another park could touch that experience but Zoomarine has in many ways and I am moved by their mission, vision and executing both. It is also just a stunningly landscaped park.
Roshini S — Google review
We had an awesome day here today, great family fun. The day was absolutely packed. We were off season (October), when part of the park is closed; and still didn’t get close to seeing everything. It’s a really good mix of animal shows, animals and rides. If you’re from the UK I really can’t think of anything quite like it. If you’re on a longer holiday, and staying closer than we are I can see the benefit of the two day ticket, that would be great value. I must recommend the animal shows, especially the dolphins they were amazing! I didn’t get to them all but they were my favourite part. Day passed in a flash, I totally recommend.
Chris B — Google review
The most freeing, fun and entertaining theme park I've ever been too. The staff and show hosts make sure you have a smile on your face, the animals are diverse and ADORABLE!! The mix of wet and dry rides is perfect, the mini beach is perfect to relax in between rides as well
Kim E — Google review
Had a fantastic day out at ZooMarine! The staff were extremely helpful, and everyone goes out of their way to make the experience enjoyable. We loved the shows – you could easily spend half a day watching them. Around 20–25% of the time is perfect for exploring the aquariums and rides. There’s also a lovely swimming pool with a wave pool and other water activities, which made for a great balance of fun. Just after finishing at ZooMarine, there are plenty of lovely restaurants nearby where we enjoyed a nice meal. A brilliant day out – highly recommended!
Moaz S — Google review
This has to be handsdown one of the best complexes I have ever been to especially for kids. The stuff and the shows are amazing along with the rides and other bits to do for the kids. I would definitely recommend to anyone on holiday in Portugal and I will definitely be coming back.
DHM L — Google review
Great place for kids and adults alike. The dolphin show was amazing and really good that it was included. Just check that all the attractions are open at the time of year you go. We went end of October and half the water slides were closed. That means the only water slides my 3yr old niece could go on was the splash pad one!
Hannah M — Google review
Highly recommended for family with small children. There are amazing shows, fun rides, and small aquarium - all included in the ticket. Rides are quite basic, so big kids might not be entertained much, but our 8, 5, and 3 years old enjoyed a lot. Our favorite was pirate show - so funny. Too funny to hold crying. Dolphin show was amazing too. We will love to come back next year, especially Halloween time!😊🎃👻

With over 100 stores, visitors can find everything from clothing to electrical appliances. Very Nice shopping center with plenty of food options. Lots of free parking available. All major brands are available and also tax free shopping is available for uk citizens which is very good. UK citizens can save 23% by doing vat claim at airport. It’s cleanly maintained. Food is good. Overall a nice shopping center.

Superb. We didn't get around it all so will definitely have to come back!! lots of good places to eat too. Play area outside for the kids. Very clean. Openplan inside and outside areas. Lots of comfy areas to sit too. Recommended to visit
David F — Google review
Always enjoying visits here. Great food hall and lots of shops and services inc. post service ( register letters & parcel) keys duplicate, shoe repair.
Rafal K — Google review
A very big shopping center with everything you need. A lot of security guards patrolling too. The only con is that it's so big I got lost looking for a specific shop. Maybe some kind of display with a map would be useful.
Mariska K — Google review
Quite a nice shopping centre, typical popular shopping chains though, not much you wouldn't see in every other mainstream shipping centre across the world. The layout can be a bit confusing, however there is a good number of stores, and the centre is kept in good condition and is clean/without litter. Nice for shopping trips, and there is an excellent cafeteria. - not to mention there is a nice park outside for those with children.
Cameron C — Google review
Brilliant shopping centre so many great shops, food court is massive and tried a few places that were all lovely. A lot of the shops have plenty of sales and good prices. Spent a good few hours there and there’s plenty of places for coffee and refreshments. Small arcade on site as well which was fun something for everyone.
Adam N — Google review
Fantastic shopping centre with many different shops from designer to high street stores. Good food options for when you need some fuel to continue with the shopping spree!! The stores are good sized and offer a vast selection of choices. The shopping centre is also very nice in terms of design and there is a pond with fish in it to keep the little ones entertained.
Sayem F — Google review
Huge shopping centre ( in Guia,) we walked here from the Cliff Richard vineyard wine tour next door ( Adega Do Cantor) . downstairs a massive Continente ( like Tesco) shop with vegan food, options, Heura, hummus, vegan burger , fridge and frozen sections, bread, veg, wine , beer, and even clothes too. Then, upstairs in the huge Food court delicious vegan soup( spinach soup ) and beer and wine. Only ten euro for two lunch for two people . Delicious and cheap thank you. Nice perfume shops and I got vegan gummies ( jellies) and vegan salted caramel chocolate in Hussel. Staff so nice . I noticed shopping centres in Portugal are extremely clean and tidy which is very different to back home, thanks, Love from Ireland.

Beach
Praia da Galé (Leste) is a 5km long, less crowded beach located 9km west of Albufeira. It's a hidden treasure with golden sandy shores, surrounded by dunes and nature trails. The beach offers beautiful scenery with rock formations and a stylish oceanfront restaurant. It's great for families as the presence of rocks makes it safe for children to play in the water.
Great place for sunsets, cocktails in nearby restaurant. Beach beautiful and clean. Highly recommend
Sue L — Google review
Such a lovely beach to spend time with the family! Praia da Galé has this calm, relaxing vibe that makes you want to stay all day. The kids had so much fun collecting seashells, and we loved exploring the rocks along the shore — some of the views are just fascinating, especially when the tide is low. There’s also a nice little café right by the beach where you can grab a drink or a snack, and the parking is super convenient — just a short walk to the sand. Perfect spot for a chill beach day!
Lilia S — Google review
Lovely beach with beautiful rock formations! Enjoyed the walk. It has restaurants around just never went to any. The hotel I was at was super close to the beach. Great location.

Great spot for watching the sunset as it's facing west. Can spot a lot of surfers. Few restaurants around the area, although a little pricy . If you move towards the road a little bit, you can find a few surf schools and other cheaper restaurants

Praia dos Salgados is a stunning stretch of white-sand beach located at the western end of Albufeira. It is known for its tranquility, spaciousness, and natural beauty. The beach offers opportunities for long walks along the sea, with the option to continue on to other nearby beaches. Families and visitors to the golf resort frequent this area, where sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent.
Great beach, not too busy, has loads of folk walking along the shoreline. Fab sand, not too coarse like some. Fab waves! Felt a bit string for the current though, I wouldn't go too deep. Great for a relaxing afternoon. Very clean.

Gorgeous vast beach ! Really nice bar/restaurant on the beach. If visiting in the summer a table must be booked as it gets so busy it's impossible to get a place. Seafood fantastic and their coconut pudding it's a treat.

Stunning beach with beautiful coves and soft sand- you can walk for miles and miles and can cut off when tide is in as there is a lovely walkway to continue the walk . Very well set up and only seen this in Jersey from all my travels - beach walkers dream

Wonderful beach - unspoilt, quiet and bursting with wildlife. We went twice, one time during a storm which was humbling - the waves were incredible and once on a hot sunny day where the breakers were invigorating, the sand was red hot and it seemed like we were the only people there.
Mac S — Google review
Nice sandy beach. Wide and long bay, perfect to relax without a lot of people around you, and for long walks by the shore. On the left there's Galé beach and Armação beach to the right side. The access to the beach and car Parking it's in Salgados Resort.

Even though it was raining the first time we went there, me and my boyfriend decided to go back for a second time and we had a really good day walking around and got our wish to see the white flamingos in their natural environment. Worth the visit and is also not far from the beach.
Tímea P — Google review
One of the nicest and cleanest beaches that you ever go to, with the softest white sands and powerful, the beach has a long stretch and is good for exercising and long swims in the shallows. Note it is connected to a nudist beach but more importantly it is connected to a bird reserve with a flamingos as a main attraction. On the beach there is a restaurant which sells hug sea caught fish and sell them grilled and cooked by the kg I highly recommend them and Miguel the manager is ever so funny. Further up thr beach is praia Sao Rafafel which to me has so fantastic photo opportunitties.

Pedras Amarelas is a fantastic beach restaurant located near Gale, just outside Albufeira. It offers a variety of Portuguese and international dishes, with a special focus on seafood. The ambiance is stunning, situated right on the beach, and the decor creates a soothing atmosphere. Visitors have praised the friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as the delicious food at reasonable prices. Guests highly recommend dishes such as baked cod and monkfish & prawn kebab.
An amazing place at the Algarve . We are sitting on the beach and have a very nice dinner. Prices are reasonable and the food is really good. You do have a great sundowner included in the dinner. The view on the Atlantic Ocean itself deserves the highest ratings. Wine card is broad and at the end u can take a drink on the rooftop bar. All very easy!

Fabio's Roadstop is a must-visit place with a great selection of food and amazing cocktails. The owner, Fabio, and his staff provide excellent service. The nachos with cheese are fresh and delicious, while the burgers like the bacon cheese jalapeno and chicken burger are flavorful and perfectly cooked. Even the kids' burger is impressive. The starters, hot dogs, and burgers are all delicious, making it a gem of a place for even fussy eaters.
Incredible food and a very nice waiter who speaks fluent English. It was surprising. The hamburgers are incredible. Chocolate milkshake was also very good
MrRyan — Google review
Food was fantastic… we had burgers and the fish and chips. “House salad” is a coleslaw, which was not true to American style exactly, but delicious. Porn star martini was great. Chocolate and strawberry Milkshakes were perfect. Service was of the most attentive we have had in Portugal.
Lucia A — Google review
Stopped by Fabio Roadstop and had a pretty good experience overall. The ribs were quite good, burger was close to being great but could use a bit more flavor. The fish was a little too oily for our taste. That said, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the visit very pleasant. Worth a stop if you’re in the area!
Ionut T — Google review
The food was very good especially the burgers. Good ambiance, and service. When it was time to pay a verbal bill we paid then saw an addition of guacamole which we had not ordered. Also considering the town and location very expensive.

Restaurant
Ramires is a renowned Portuguese chicken restaurant located in Guia, near Albufeira, known for its deliciously seasoned and charcoal-grilled chicken with hot pepper sauce. Established by Jose Carlos Ramires in 1964 as a small cafe, the restaurant has expanded over the years to occupy three floors due to its popularity.
Probably the best chicken we had during our visit to the Algarve. We were lucky to get served as we arrived after 2:30 and they close at 3:00. Food came out quickly and was hot. Huge portions. Service was so so…. Which is on par for Portugal.
Christine P — Google review
Best chicken in the Algarve. Been twice in three days. Arrived both times around 8 and provided with a lovely table. It may be out of town but well worth the drive out. Had a mix of the normal and spicy chicken accompanied by a mixed salad and fries. The house red was smooth and dry. The waiters are pleasant and pragmatic; the focus is the fabulous chicken.
Ian T — Google review
We were in the neighborhood, so of course we had to try Ramires, the restaurant known as the founder of the Piri Piri chicken tradition. The chicken was well prepared and full of flavor. While it’s not exactly the style of Piri Piri chicken I usually prefer, I’m glad we got to try this iconic spot!
Jurian R — Google review
Came here for the food, and it was worth it! Ramirez specialises in chicken Piri piri and maybe the reason they have a small menu. Everything we ordered was very tasty. Chicken piri Piri was amazing and we reordered it. Highly recommended
Amish R — Google review
I went there with the anticipation of eating some really great chicken. It was a bit of disappointment. The chicken was juicy and nice, but the flavors were a bit lacking. There was enough oil/grease remaining on the place. The atmosphere of the place was very touristy. I would not go there again.
Sri S — Google review
The chicken is quite small, expected a bigger one. To my taste it is clearly over grilled, not to mention it’s too salty. Because it’s overgrilled and the chicken is small, there’s almost no meat to enjoy. I’ve had so much nicer piri piri chicken in Lisbon so it can’t be even compared to this one. The service and atmosphere are great.
AK A — Google review
A beautiful and traditional Portuguese Peri-Peri chicken restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious and full of flavor. The staff were amazing friendly, welcoming, and made the experience even better. Highly recommended!
Abdulmohsen B — Google review
We had dinner here tonight (family of 4 with a 4 & 8 year old). It was our tastiest meal all holiday! The chicken was super tasty (we went for spicy Ofcourse). The tomato and onion salad went perfectly with the chicken and the fries / chips so tasty. Our son had an omelette which was really tasty too! We got some rice which accompanied the meal perfectly. The glass of Porto and some home made cookies at end of meal free was a lovely surprise - thank you! And their coffee was the best we’ve had too! The restaurant is traditional and the staff very polite. We are going back for sure. All in all top place for Piri Piri and super value for money!

Praia do Castelo is a charming beach located near the village resort of Sesmarias. Despite its name, there are no castles nearby today. The beach is known for its clear waters, golden sands, and rocky surroundings. In the 16th century, a watchtower protected the coast in this area, giving rise to the beach's name. During summer, lifeguards ensure safety for swimmers and snorkelers who are drawn to the crystal-clear waters.
Wonderful small beach with a nice restaurant and also a massage on the beach. Kanu and other watersports available. Not crowded and a very clean and tidy place. Nice and clean water with 19 degrees in the late summer.
Pat H — Google review
A small but charming beach that’s not overcrowded, which we really appreciated. Access is fairly easy if you’re fit – there are a few stairs and a slight incline, so it might be a bit tricky for elderly visitors who aren’t steady on their feet. But for younger people or anyone in good shape, it’s no problem at all. There’s also a small beach bar/restaurant where you can grab drinks, ice cream, or even have lunch, which is a nice bonus. We had a really lovely day here. The only downside is that the rock formations surrounding the beach create a sort of natural tunnel, which blocks a lot of the breeze. On very hot days, the heat can build up and feel a bit intense. Overall, a great spot for a relaxed beach day.
Catarina — Google review
Beautiful beach with golden sand, nice cliff views, clear water (when not windy) and a bit less people than other beaches nearby. Beach is clean and people are respectful. We did not use the beach umbrellas, as we had our own and there is decent space for this purpose. Good access with a car too.
Michael M — Google review
A very beautifull beach with nice waves to swim in and there are free parasols to use and it was nog that crowded so you had enough space

What a delightful little beach. Not as hectic as some of the big ones (a good thing). The sand is a little course, but the views are wonderful, the water has good well marked swimming, and the little restaurant does great seafood, and pretty marvellous cocktails.

Situated near Praia da Gale and Albufeira, it's an excellent base for exploring the region.
Stunning views and a beautiful cliff top walk make this an amazing place to visit. The walk can be uneven in places and you will need to be reasonably fit to take it on. The beach itself is lovely and Sandy. This is a great area of coastline and extremely scenic with lots of rocks, arches and caves. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Villa Mimao and visited Praia de Manuel Lourenço every day of our stay. Lovely sand and great rock formations as well. As some other reviews have suggested the beach can be plagued with seaweed, but this was being cleared on the evening we left. Good fishing to be had from the rocks throughout our stay. Praia de Manuel Lourenço also benefits from a beach bar. 4 stars because of the seaweed issues.

Nice Beach but rocks in the way

Beautiful but the sea has a lot of seaweed

Fantastic rocky beach. The sand is not very soft and the rocks won't allow you to swim, but you can explore the rocks and all the spaces they form between them... Great views from the cliffs.

Lovely beach with sea creatures that are not usually discovered in any other beach I've seen!

The beach was alright but the views were fantastic.

Beach
Praia do Evaristo is a charming blue-flag beach with golden sands and seasonal lifeguards. It's a tiny cove near the village of Gale, known for its clear waters and secluded atmosphere, making it popular among Portugal's elite.
Our favorite beach in the Algarve. Coastline is stunning and a great place to explore the rich formations. Always find interesting shells and rocks, even some urchins! Check the tide, always better when low IMO.
Jim L — Google review
Quite cool little beach, it has rocks and a bit of sand for those that are not just about lying on the sand to catch sun. It also has a little beach bar that serves food and drinks, showers and paid sun loungers. Probably worth mentioning that it’s better with higher tides, with low tide the little rocky pools are empty. Beware parking is not huge! All in all worth a visit.

After the fire destroyed the old restaurant a new pop up canteen has been opened as a temporary measure. The owner said they are waiting for permission to rebuild and expect to be back to normal in 2027. The beach has plenty of sunbeds, 25 euros a day for two. The food is ok but not like before because of the lack of a charcoal grill. Bar, toilets and showers all excellent. Lovey sheltered beach, great for windy days when there’s a red flag, you can stand by the rocks and get showered by the waves crashing down on them.

Lovelly beach but has changed alot in 15 years which is a shame. Can get busy but the bar that use to be situated on this beach is no longer there which is also a huge shame. Still worth a visit

This place is just stunning. Easy access from main road to a quite beach with a beautiful restranant looking over the beach.

Served me raw chicken and didn’t refund me when I took a bite and showed them. Bad service at the beds even after waving them down and trying to get their attention for 45min. How sad, this was a favorite place of mine but it went downhill.

Beautiful scenery. Peaceful walk through national park to beach. Very clean beach and water.
Michelle D — Google review
Beautiful beach with nice sunbeds and WiFi. There is a little bar for some snacks/lunch and drinks and also a restaurant with fresh fish (Evaristo). Have to be careful with the rocks and waves, otherwise would have been 5 stars. There are lifeguards present though.

Located just a short walk from the pristine blue flag beach of São Lourenço and the popular Gale beach, this restaurant offers an inviting dining experience. Guests rave about the friendly and attentive staff who create a warm, family-like ambiance.
Had dinner here tonight, sat outside, the views and the sound of the sea was just fantastic. Staff were friendly, helpful and just really lovely. Food was delicious, generous portions loved both the sea bass and the sole. Garlic prawns…yum! Only on the first week of our holiday, will be dining here again!

Went here with the wife after reading so many good reviews. The restaurant is overlooking the beach and sea. Looks lovely as the light fades later in the evening. The waitresses were extremely friendly and helpful. Cocktails were really nice. We had a Couvert to start, followed by 2 fillet steaks. My wife had a salad with hers. I had rice and fries. The steaks were cooked to perfection. We had cheesecake and an Almond pie for our desserts. Again both really nice. We had a really nice evening here. The food was delicious and the setting perfect. You pay slightly more than other restaurants, but it IS worth it. Definitely going back before we finish our holiday. 10/10

10/10! The BEST garlic shrimps. Delicious steak. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, great with our 2 year old. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and time here

Amazing location, welcoming staff and we enjoyed the best fish with the sunset as a backdrop. The fillet steak was also delicious. We walked in without a reservation and were welcomed and shown to a table but it did get very busy so reserve to avoid disappointment.

Quiet and relaxing. One of the best steaks I have had.

Favorite place in Albufeira. Very friendly and experienced staff. Excellent food. We dined there twice during a 4-night trip and picked it as the spot to celebrate a family member’s birthday. They setup up an excellent table for us on the outside terrace and arranged a chocolate cake that felt homemade (most likely it was) and was delicious. We couldn’t have asked for better service. Basically family atmosphere away from home.

The most beautiful, serene, heavenly paradise. The food was impeccable - every single bite, the service perfection, the decor and rooms beautiful and comfortable - cannot recommend enough.

We had dinner here and it was amazing. We had our 5 yr old with us who was being moody and they were so kind to him it put him in the best mood. They allowed him to eat in the ac on the sofas so he had space to color which allowed us to eat in peace. Which was perfect bc the food was soooo good. I’d definitely recommend this dining experience. Just don’t wear flip flops. There is a dress code.

Came here to try the restaurant so only experienced the food and the surrounding areas, but we were blown away. Location and ambiance was beautiful, staff were friendly and extremely helpful, food was out of this world, and the beach was extremely fun and comfortable. We loved our stay and can’t wait to return, would 100% book here in the future
Gary K — Google review
We ate at the restaurant with our toddlers - 2 year old and 5 year old. They were served a delicious custom made pasta from the kitchen, while my wife and I enjoyed the tasting menu. Everything was perfectly plated, portioned and flavoured. We loved it! The service was attentive and done with a smile - smiles go a long way for a nice meal. The view was gorgeous and we caught golden hour over the ocean. Highly recommend!

Food was simply great: superb ingredients and excellent craft. Very interesting wine list as well. They even had entertainment for our kids. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed the lunch tasting menu at the Michelin restaurant and were seated on the terrace, which overlooks the impeccable gardens and the gorgeous beach below. Everything was incredible -- the food, the service, the view, the whole experience was really special. Definitely recommend if you are in Albufeira and looking for a refined dining experience.

Ate at Sea off the beach which was fantastic. Service in the main hotel Bar, however, was condescending, snarky and unhelpful. Too bad because the property and views were stunning.
Russell A — Google review
We dined here for our honeymoon and booked the tasting menu. The service was impeccable and we had the most beautiful views over the cliffs. The attention to detail with each course was second to none, there were also a number of surprise dishes which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for a memorable meal.

Portuguese restaurant
Restaurante O Marinheiro is a charming and unassuming restaurant that has earned the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand award. Located in Albufeira, it offers a combination of traditional Portuguese recipes and international dishes with a modern twist. The ambiance exudes class, set in a stunning villa-style property near the beach.
Great food. We ordered prawns as a starter and tuna and octopus for the main course. Everything was delicious. We liked the deserts (brownie and pineapple) a bit less. Really good service, nice atmosphere, chic interior. A bit pricey but definitely worth it.

This restaurant is absolutely worth a visit. It was our second night in Albufeira when my husband and I came in for a visit. The food is delicious, the wine list is also very good (prices range from affordable good wines to very posh and expensive ones). The starters, mains and desserts were all so lovely. The service is also warm and attentive! I would certainly recommend.

I really recommend this place. So thoughtful they had a birthday balloon for my sister whose birthday we were celebrating there. Staff were lovely and the atmosphere is wonderful. One of the best risottos I’ve had. Perfectly combined with the cod in crispy batter! Delicious. My starter was perfectly crispy with the sweet and savoury mix.

Exciting place to be. Just around the corner of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, we found this great place. It is not an insider anymore, as Michelin has spotted it years ago. The service is great and the food is even greater. We had different dishes, surrounded by the wine card , which supports the wine competence of this beautiful country. We are sitting in the middle of the European California, with all the easygoing we know from the television. The only difference is, that this is real, as the people are grounded and real. Hence this is the place to be!🙏🙏🙏

A fantastic local restaurant with excellent service. The owners greeted us warmly & sat us. He took the time to explain the menu & go over some wine suggestions. The quality of the service and food was great. The ambience inside was charming. Highly recommend!

Truly outstanding. Our go to Restaurant in the Algarve. The food is exceptional. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, also so warm and welcoming to everyone. The sangria is without doubt the best I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a truly memorable experience while visiting the Algarve.

My wife and I wanted to enjoy a really nice peaceful evening together and I found this restaurant on Google. I could not have been luckier because the staff and service was first class, the atmosphere and ambience was perfect and the food was absolutely amazing, we could not have come away happier, thank you.
