Wildlife and safari park
Outdoor Activities
Zoo
Knowsley Safari is a wildlife park located near Liverpool, England. Visitors can view roaming animals from the safety of their cars or tour buses, and also explore a walk-around zoo and enjoy fair rides. The park has been open for over 40 years and is home to over 700 animals including lions, sea lions, rhinoceros, giraffes, zebras, meerkats, birds of prey and many more. One of its newest additions is the Amur Tiger.
We had a great day at Knowsley. Actually got to see the animals much better than when we went to Chester zoo. I took my two grandaghters who are aged 21 months and 2 and a half and they loved it. We went to the sea lions show in the walk around part and that was great plus very informative. Rides are not overly priced. Highly recommend 👌

Very Enjoyable day out with the family. Drive through the safari takes about an hour although you can stop if you wish, you can also go round multiple times. There's a nice nature trail to do on foot. The falcon show and sea lion show are both really enjoyable. There are also a number of rides available aimed at smaller children.
Chris S — Google review
Fantastic day. The place is full of majestic live stock. Elegantly going about their safe life's. If only humanity could take a leaf out of their own lives. Being around animals for a day, the park was great. Worth every penny spent.
Sandra S — Google review
Great afternoon out at the safari park. We braved to baboons (our car got off lightly but we did see quite a bit of damage to other cars so beware). The sea lion show is well worth a watch. If you get chance go through the drive through safari at different times as we did see some animals we didn't see the first time round.
Lexie R — Google review
I was a little hesitant at first after reading a few reviews from people disappointed with the amount of animals they saw and after a depressing visit to Chester Zoo, but I took the risk.. Wow, it was fabulous! Visiting mid-week the park was quiet an we saw very few cars on the safari drive, which was perfect. Just us and miles of empty road and we were able to pull over and just watch and wait allowing many of the animals to come closer. The far reaching vistas and sunny weather made it almost feel like we were in the savanna! Of course the baboons were the highlight and it was mostly the youngsters swamping the car, probably about a dozen on or having off it at one point, but we didnt expect to see hundreds of them along the road. Mention must go to the ostriches who attempted to break into the car, the pride of lions and the huge number of magnificent Rhino. A joy after seeing the 2 very forlorn looking ones in Chester. So much nicer to see the animals with large areas to roam than the enclosures, cages and tanks in a zoo! We saw a bit of the foot trail but didnt allow enough time. We did get to see the sea lions, giraffes, meekats and a glimpse of the tigers. So want to return soon to see the tiger cubs and take the long nature trail. A quick look in the shop and it was reasonably priced with plenty of fluffy takeaways for the kids. Left feeling very satisfied and that it was very good value at around £18 per person. Allow at least 5 hours to see most of what's on offer.
Mike F — Google review
Overall we had a good time. Kids had fun when baboon ripped a piece of rubber from my front windscreen. Had to wash my car on the drive home from all the monkey prints all over it 🤣 Park needs some TLC, looks tired. Food at the Oasis was not great. Packed lunch next time. I felt sorry for the “birds of pray” like eagles as they had very little space in their cages to fly, they seemed quite restless.
Marts S — Google review
A great day out. We chose to go on the baboon bus, so we could experience the animals together & still go through the monkeys & lions. It was very good & the driver gave us lots of information about the animals. You can still drive round yourself after using the bus. The sea lion show was excellent & very entertaining, the sea lions have great characters. The birds of prey show was fantastic too, loved seeing how the birds interacted with their trainers and us the viewers, a great experience, especially the friendly vulture. The funeral fair rides were great & for £12 for a wristband for one child to go on everything with the adult free, was a good bargain. The walking safari was good, seeing the meerkats, giraffes & tigers. We stayed from 10am to 5.30pm & the day was very enjoyable. Would recommend to everyone & a good price for everyone.
Helen D — Google review
Knowsley Safari is an absolutely brilliant day out for the whole family! The experience is excellent-it's amazing to drive through and see plenty of animals right up close in their open, natural habitats. Getting to see the rhinos, lions, and deer from just a short distance away is truly unforgettable. Our children loved it a lot; it was the highlight of their trip! Between the drive-through and the walking safari attractions (like the sea lion show), there's more than enough to fill a whole day. Highly recommend for a thrilling and memorable animal experience

Pizza delivery
Takeout Restaurant
Pizza Takeout
Domino's Pizza in Liverpool - Prescot is a popular delivery and carryout chain known for its wide variety of pizzas and other dishes. Located conveniently in the car park behind Dominos in Prescot, it offers free parking with a maximum 3-hour stay. Customers have reported positive experiences with their orders, praising the correctness, hotness, and quality of the food. The staff is commended for their punctual deliveries and helpful resolution of any rare issues that may arise.
Could be a fluke but we ordered from here last night and the entire order was correct, piping hot and the best dominos we’ve ever had. We got the 50% off discount and it arrived quickly , driver was dressed correctly, polite, and both custom pizza orders were correct. Hope it’s as good next time
J G — Google review
Ordered for delivery frequently and 6 times out of 10 they get the order right. Not exactly hard to get the order right, since majority of the time it's almost identical. Usually it's been no problem but the last two orders have been poor. Never knew dominoes was a DIY when they get the order wrong and just deliver the sauces instead of actually prepping the correct dish and this last time instead of just taking the order back and re-delivering the right one, they just said to take a refund... Nice.
King N — Google review
I ordered two 9' pizzas ( peperoni & american hot) for home delivery came too £20 ( with delivery charge) delivery time was good under half an hour but I was VERY disappointed with my choice - Firstly the thinest pizza ever and the box & pizza was SO greasy and very salty ! It was basically a peperoni with a few slices of onion & spicy peppers thrown on top. It didn't look appetizing and the only reason I ate it was due to an injury I couldn't get out of the house or cook anything & it was the only food I had the whole day.... This was my first and last time I will use dominoes prescot again - I could have got a lovely fresh 12' pizza from tesco's for £5.00 and popped it in my oven - a lesson learned 😠
Mark D — Google review
Ordered a few items today online. What a waiste of money. Pizza was wafer thin with no taste. Topping rejused in quantity. Fries unexplainable poor. Half cooked. Used to be one of the best places in prescot but now the worst. Why change what works is beyond me. Well over priced. If we order cheep then we would expect cheep but it still Is the dearest place to order from. Never again. Lost a customer hear.
Hazel H — Google review
Don't like the delivery charges so hardly ever use them unless passing in the car. Delivery drivers have been spotted parking in blue badge spaces in the car park at the rear of the premises. 😠

First time ordered - and last time surely!!! Absolutely rubbish and rude staff Ordered pizza to be collected at 6.30 . went there at 6.25 At 6 40 asked about pizza to a guy with glasses He didn't bother to look or come back to me and inform me what casuing the delay , casually chatting around with colleagues and never looked at me again No customer service at all...staff chatting and laughing among themselves and no intentions to serve a customer standing there for 15 mins!!
Ali S — Google review
When it first opened it was great, but the last few orders have been extremely disappointing, there is so little topping on them it's crazy for the price! They scrimp on everything. The oven around the corner is so much better, better pizza and service and cheaper.
Sam G — Google review
Pizza cold and not sliced. Called customer care and was told it would take up to 5 days to investigate. One month later, still no callback from customer service or store. Better pizza from UNO”s

Performing arts theater
Shakespeare North Playhouse is a renowned theatre and early education center located in Liverpool. Founded in 2004, it aims to bring the arts to the heart of Shakespeare's world. The venue offers a wide range of activities for children and families, including drama workshops and drop-in playtime. Visitors praise the exceptional performances and professional actors, making it a must-visit destination for theater enthusiasts.
Came here with my daughter for the first time, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the performance of Alice in Wonderland, especially the young girl who played the White Rabbit. We both thought she was brilliant with her different accents! Drinks and snacks are very reasonably priced, and I loved the seating area.
Roma T — Google review
First visit but most definitely not the last - already have another show lined up and expect to be a regular from now on. We came to see 'Terminal 2', which was a wonderful piece in the intimate space of The Studio. Terrific to be so 'up close' to the performers and witness such a beautifully performed play. By turns hilarious, thought-provoking, and profoundly moving. I'm not ashamed to say I had 'something in my eye' several times. However unlikely it may be, if you get a chance to see this ANYWHERE, just GO! As for the Playhouse itself, it's a beautiful space: modern, exceptionally clean, comfortable lounge area with adjoining gift shop and bar/coffee/bistro. Great service from really friendly staff/helpers. Haven't seen the main Cockpit yet - that awaits with our next visit, but it looks stunning. To have this place on our doorstep is a gift. I can only chastise myself for not visiting sooner!

Love it here and everything about it. Been twice and have had a brilliant time. Great experience of seeing actors so close up, in the round. Good food and drink, well priced and staff are so friendly and helpful

I went to see Blake, Butler and Grant playing a gig and was really impressed with the theatre, the auditorium and quality of the sound. Staff were lovely, bar wasn't extortionate and I had a great night there.
Dave W — Google review
Recently saw The Tempest here.. an amazing show with friendly staff too. Fairly cheap tickets for such a good show right at the front, about £30 each. Can’t recommend this enough! One small note: the seating can be quite snug so just keep that in mind, my partner is 6’5” and was slightly uncomfortable but for most should be fine
Cameron V — Google review
Well, well worth a visit, you will see Prescot and Lord Derby in a new context. It's a magnificent design achievement to fit so much into the building and garden. The coffee was great and the team, many of whom were volunteering, were lovely. There is a very eclectic programme of events; Something for everyone 😀 well recommended 👍

The bench seat is not the most comfortable but amazing atmosphere and very well run. If you are on the back row where the seat is very high they have little fold up steps you can borrow that make it more comfortable.
Sharon E — Google review
A gem of a venue , and the most wonderful staff - from the resonably priced restaurant to everyone involved in the auditorium. It so deserves to be supported: as do the artists at every performance. I wish I lived nearer and could become a regular but I will definitely come back. Thank you for a memorable night.

Prescot Shopping Centre

Shopping mall
Prescot Shopping Centre has been neglected and is in poor condition, prompting calls for the council to intervene. Suggestions include rethinking its use beyond retail, such as incorporating community, leisure, entertainment, and family offerings. Despite this, the High Street boasts charming pubs, bistros, and restaurants where visitors can also run errands or enjoy a pleasant summer evening outdoors. The area hosts events for children and educational activities related to Shakespeare.
Some really random stuff on but really good afternoon out

Weird and empty but the toilets are free to use and there is a free car park. There did seem to be a post office and charity shop but all the other units were vacant.

Great place to shop. Plenty of parking in retail park
Pauline J — Google review
I've only been here once to visit a shop I found online. It's a busy place, but there are a lot of shops closed in the actual shopping centre. I suppose it's the same everywhere these days. The people I spoke too were very friendly and helpful. I think I would visit again.
Kevin P — Google review
Some decent bars on the street with outdoor seating..
Neil R — Google review
This place needs help to bring it back to how it used to be. There used to be a lot of shops here, but now it's a shadow of its former self. Now there are a few good shops including a post office, home bargains, card factory.
Lou — Google review
Less attractive, business's turning away customers and shutting early, anti social behaviour, limited policing, dirty rubbish in streets that only concerned locals seem to pick up and discard, area becoming a negative place

The Oven Pizzeria and Bar

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Prescot, The Oven Pizzeria and Bar is a delightful gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Known for its exceptional oven-fired pizzas, this family-run establishment offers a warm atmosphere complemented by vibrant murals that enhance its charm. Diners rave about the quality toppings and generous portions, with standout items like crispy fries and delectable garlic dough balls. For dessert, the Nutella dough balls are a must-try!
Nice little home baked pizzeria, with a 'proper' pizza oven too. Seems family run, really nice atmosphere with great service. Food and drink is very reasonable. A good variety of vegetarian options and a family friendly menu also, great for families with young children. We tried one of the specials that they where happy to 'convert' to a veggie version for us... It was goats cheese pizza with rocket and Parma ham, and they swapped out the ham for cherry tomatoes. Delicious. The other pizza was off the everyday menu that looked interesting, called summertime, pine nuts, figs and honey, but without a tomato base. Nice but a little too sweet... We should have guessed that though from the ingredients! :) We also got a side of chips (nice but a little greasy) and we tried some killer olives with chilli... If you love spicy heat, you have to try the olives! Overall a great little find, ace for families at very fair prices for great freshly made, home baked produce.

Don't bother with the big chain pizzas just support your local businesses and go here. Been twice now and made to feel really welcome. Great pizzas and reasonable prices.

What a great restaurant The Oven is. I visited with my boys and during the week, it was busy so a good sign. The staff running the place were fantastic, I had the linguine with king prawns and the fresh flavours were some of the best. My boys each had a pizza made in their wood fired pizza oven and they looked really authentic. Would I go back? Yes, probably going tomorrow. Recommended!

Ordered a takeaway for collection. Food was ready on time. Now to the food… Incredible, had the chicken tenders to start which were amazing would recommend. I had the Calabrese pizza and partner had Mexico. Both were spectacular, portions of toppings were just right. Can tell thats its quality ingredients used. Will be dining in soon! Highly recommend to everyone

Excellent oven fired pizzas. Really tasty. Went for the family deal which is really good value. Good quality toppings on the pizzas, fries were some of the best I've had recently and the garlic dough balls were really nice. Dinner was topped off with the Nutella dough balls which were gorgeous. The place itself has some personality with some murals on the walls that add to the ambiance. Certainly another excellent addition to the Prescot restaurant scene and one is recommended traveling to.

My mother and I found this little Gem by chance as we fancied trying somewhere different. What we got was a deliciously authentic pizza, garlic bread and salad. Nestled on Eccleston Street, Pinion is the latest gem from the creative culinary mind of Gary Usher and marks the fifth addition to his Elite Bistro Group. This charming restaurant came to life thanks to an impressive crowdfunding campaign that raised a staggering £50,000 in just 59 minutes! With the Shakespeare North Playhouse Theatre nearby, it’s an ideal spot for a delightful pre-theatre meal.
Great place to visit as a breakfast venue - served up to 11:45 before the Bistro menu kicks in. The smashed avocado on a bagel and a pot of tea was spot on for a mid morning snack. Friendly, efficient staff on hand to assist and generally chat to. Note the irregular opening times earlier in the week.

Our first visit ( sat eve) and the restaurant was busy at 7.45 and probably full before we left, lots of praise for the waiter very professional, pleasant and overworked me thinks, we were seated close too the window and was feeling a chill for a while until some heating came on. the menu isn't huge but my partner and I ordered prawn cocktail starters , the beef cutlet and peri peri chicken for mains and my partner had a very small desert ( a type of cheesecake) after our starter arrived there was quite a wait for the main's to arrive but it was a busy evening.... I've given 3 stars for my chicken dish as it was basically a seasoning shake/ rub on the skin and none of the flavoring had reached the chicken below ( which was perfectly cooked ) the fries were tasty but I was basically eating just 'chicken & chips' My partners beef was tender ( but small as was the prawn cocktails ) and she enjoyed it alongside the rustic wedges ( but no vegatable's with either dish) I had a small bottle of lager and 2 glasses of rose wine for the lady and the bill includes an unexpected 8% service charge which didn't impress me to be honest so our bill was £92.50, I'm sure many people would be fine with that but I found it a tad over the top for the food we had.....
Mark D — Google review
Very disappointed, was really looking forward to going here, but for a Friday night there was no atmosphere in there at all, OK 6pm is farely early but still only 4 tables filled. The food tasted lovely, presentation was amazing, but there was too much for such rich food. In my opinion this place would do alot better and attract more custom if they reduced the portions and in turn reduce the high prices, as for the area it is really high and I think unfortunately they are out pricing themselves. Its not town its Prescot. Also unfortunately because of this you are not faced with a good view from the window, I would put a display of some kind to cover the horrible view. Regardless of this, the staff where faultless, in fact they where brilliant.
Jez W — Google review
Friends took me here for my birthday and we all enjoyed immensely. Ideal sized portions and one of the few times I've bothered with a full three courses in a restaurant. Had the plaice as my main which was fantastic, friends had braised beef which was so delicious and rich. Honey roasted carrots were delightful. Only two minor quibbles was it was a little too hot inside and service was a little bit slow (though really friendly) but still five star since it is new and they're finding their feet. Will certainly return. Have now returned for Sunday lunch, sublime. I had pork chop which was cooked to perfection, they had beef which was perfectly pink. And at £20 for two courses on Sunday they really can't be beat. Oh and the pigs head croquettes are to die for!

Ho's Restaurant is a delightful spot that truly shines when it comes to hosting special occasions. Recently, I had the pleasure of booking a private dining room for my mum's 60th birthday celebration, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. The separate dining area comfortably accommodates up to 50 guests, making it ideal for intimate gatherings. We were granted access early in the day to set up decorations like balloons and banners, and everything was beautifully arranged upon our arrival.
Absolutely excellent food and service... big family event that went very well indeed.. thank you..

I booked this venue for my mum’s 60th birthday meal, and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a separate dining room that can be closed off and comfortably fits up to 50 people, perfect for a private celebration. I was given access to the room from 4pm to set up with balloons and banners, and everything had already been laid out beautifully. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout. I dealt primarily with Michael, who was fantastic - always responsive, flexible with our needs, and really made the planning process easy. I can’t thank him enough for the outstanding service we received. The food was delicious, arrived quickly, and was served hot. There’s plenty of choice on the menu, with something for everyone, and a great selection of drinks too. The entire team were lovely, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We honestly couldn’t fault the night. After the meal, the private room was available for karaoke, which was such a fun way to end the evening with friends and family. Highly recommended! Thank you for a wonderful and memorable night.
