Church
The Basilica of St. Anthony is a magnificent Catholic church with Byzantine-style domes and notable artworks, including relics of St. Anthony. Constructed in Gothic style shortly after the saint's death in 1232, it attracts pilgrims from around the world who come to pay homage to the revered friar. The interior is a labyrinth of chapels and corridors housing masterpieces such as Donatello's reliefs on the high altar and expressive sculptural narratives of St.
We took a day trip to Padova from Ferrara. We decided to take it easy just wander round the town looking at the architecture eating and drinking etc! The one place we did actually visit was the Basilica of St Anthony and it was stunning. It's hard to describe in words the majesty of the church. It is one of the most stunning churches I have visited. Was rather amused at them charging for the toilet! Definitely worth a visit.

No tickets required, but dress appropriately! If you have too much skin showing, they will provide covering to wear for 1 Euro. I was very impressed by that, so no one would be turned away! You can wear shorts and short sleeve shirts for comfort in the heat...just not too short. This magnificent place is a must-see!
Stephen M — Google review
The Basilica of St. Anthony is truly my place of strength. Every time I come here, I feel a powerful energy that surrounds and uplifts me. The atmosphere is so unique and deeply spiritual that it’s impossible to leave without feeling renewed and inspired. A must-visit for anyone who wants to experience something beyond the ordinary.
Tatiana — Google review
The exterior is a melange of architectural styles, fairly plain brickwork but with Byzantine minarets and domes reminiscent of the Hagia Sophia of Istanbul. Internally it is pure Gothic with wonderful sculptures and artwork. The scale is vast and the ceilings almost disappear into the distance, many covered by netting to catch falling debris. This is a site of pilgrimage for followers of Saint Anthony and there was a line to enter the chapels containing his relics. The lighting is very dim so the architecture is not shown to best advantage but nevertheless the effect is inspiring.
Herm D — Google review
It was a great blessing and goosebumping experience to have a dharhsan at St. Antony's basilica at Padova. One could feel the positive divine vibration the moment enters into the Basilica. Indeed, we spent more time in the Basilica in prayer and meditation. St. Antony of Padova is the patron saint for lost objects. St. Antony of Padova is widely celebrated saint in South India. We had a opportunity to pray at his cemetery, tonsee his unperished tounge and jaw. His incorruptible relic is housed in this basilica.
Dr R — Google review
Due to our ancestral devotion to St. Anthony, my wife and I made a point to visit Padua, and the cathedral here is truly mesmerizing. Having visited Lisbon as well, we were particularly struck by the abundance of St. Anthony’s relics housed in this beautiful church. You will find St Anthony's pillow stone, uncorrupted tongue of St Anthony, Jaw bone with teeth, vocal apparatus, skin from head, cassock, St Anthony's finger, hair. Plus relics of other saints and items from cross on which Jesus died
John C — Google review
One of the most magnificent basilicas you will ever see. Its fame rests not only on its architectural beauty but also on the spiritual aura that resides within the basilica. It houses the mortal remains of St Antony of Padua. It also has the relics of more than a dozen other saints including St Pope John Paul II. Catholics from all over the world flock to the Basilica throughout the year. One thing that catches our eyes is the altar that has all the relics.
Dr G — Google review
It’s truly a blessing to visit this marvelous church and meet St. Anthony in prayers. Touching the tomb of St Anthony and attending the daily mass were the highlights of our visit in Padua.

Really generous variety of attractions, for fair prices, and with the coupons from the camp even better. Most attractions have prices in range 3-5€ per person / ride, some have age restrictions, but even with the kids around 7 years there is a lot of fun.

Bibione Spiaggia is a renowned Italian seaside town that offers an idyllic summer getaway with its expansive eight-kilometer golden sandy beach, abundant hotels, charming local cafes, and bustling vendors. The destination boasts rich historical and artistic heritage, providing travelers with a chance to explore monuments, buildings, and natural treasures. Visitors can also enjoy the town's resplendent thermal baths and scenic cycle paths that make car-free exploration possible.
The beach and water are clean, the water is the perfect temperature, I found many shells and it's very beautiful. You are not allowed to smoke or bring pets on the beach, which I think is ok, because it is always clean. You have designated smoking areas and restaurants nearby.

I was surprise that i could chilled there and slept for about 2h on the "liegenstuhl with sonnenschrim" without getting charged for the place.. It was so relaxing with the sound of the wave, summer Breeze & giggles from the kids who were playing there n having fun.it has beach sevice guys to control everything there or if u need help. The beach is nice, clean, and even have closet room and shower. But the toilet was dirty and one of the cleaning service was so rude.

Soooo beautiful and long beach with nice sand, warm water. Price 24 euros for an umbrella and 3 chairs, in July 2025.
Alexandra B — Google review
Water quality is good anway its not for snorchling, due to sand visibility in water is low. Beach is clean and fully equipped with important facilities like bar, toilet, place for rest, showers. Like that is forbiden to smoke on beach, anyway you have option to smoke in dedicated places. Issue for me was that this beach is duting season very overcrowded with milions of people, anway in water is enough placem acces to wate is very good for kids, slowly invreasing depth of water. Safety included from beach staff.Lot of guys is selling stuf on beach and yes is warmy here during the season 🙂
Andrej M — Google review
Great location, quite large, family friendly, beautiful sea. Lots of restaurants in town, fantastic italian ice cream.

Dirty shallow water. You always have to walk a Long distance to reach any point you need. Africans trying to sell some goods of unknown quality.. I have seen much prettier places to spend holidays. Sorry

Really well-organized beach. I like the system where resort guests have a reserved chair and umbrella for the entire stay. Good Job!!
Givara B — Google review
I just passing Bibione and want to get fast swim, well the water is dirty because of sand that is obvious, so no snorchling. The prices for sun beds are crazy 😀. I guess is good place for family with the Kids.

The Bibione Thermae is a contemporary spa complex that boasts both indoor and outdoor thermal pools, along with a sprawling lawn that offers breathtaking views of the sea. Situated amidst lush pine forests, this tranquil sanctuary in Bibione promises serenity and rejuvenation. The Bibione Spa presents an extensive array of amenities and services, including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, whirlpools, saunas, steam baths, as well as wellness and relaxation areas.
Don't skip the rituals! The wellness area is very good and adds to the thermal water pool. The ticket is for the full day, better arriving in the morning to avoid the crowds. You will pay extra for swimming cup, towels, food, slippers, so bring your own. There is a cold pool outside in the garden, suncream is also a must have.
Marina Z — Google review
The bath and its services are a joke. They don't provide you with towel or sheet for sauna, you have to buy ugly bathing cap and shoes, that are compulsory to wear, almost nobody can speak english and even the signs there are usually in italian only, sometimes in german. The equipment of SPA is very poor, there is insufficient amout of showers, no ice pool or buckets with water. The WORST part is, there is mandatory bathing suit to enter finish sauna, so people sweat on their own dirty towels, then use it after shower and then they put that beneath them when using the relaxing sofas. Also people enter in the same bathing suit the whirpool without chance to properly was it. Extremely UNHYGIENIC. Last part is, that they have empty parking place in front of the spa, but if you park there, you will get over 30 EUR parkin ticket. The only GOOG thing is, that they have ice room with temperature of 16 centigrade, which is at least for me unusual and fine experience after the sauna. Overall, I can say that it was one of the WORST SPA experiences i have ever encountered, overpriced, trying to squeeze you out for extra money, didn't provide you with basic stuff. It was not worth the visit. Pool for swimming and the thermals part was good though, can't complain about that - if you go swimming/into pool then it might be good idea, but consider amount of people, we were there outside of season and it felt a bit crowded.
Tachometr — Google review
I had a very pleasant experience previously and had another great experience this autumn. Prices are reasonable (3 hours for 14€, whole day for 30€ for adults). Facilities are very good and clean, including showers and toilets. The spa section is a bit on the low side. I love the fact that there’s the outside pool, however the power of the different jets is quite low at exception of one. I guess it needs to usable by all ages so it cannot be too powerful otherwise it would rip someone’s bones off! Overall I would come back again. Pictures below show the outside pool.
Lorenzo — Google review
Excellent place with swimming pools and a wellness center with many features. Very clean and organized. We enjoyed staying there all day long
Carlo S — Google review
Unfriendly personal, you have to wear bathing cap and slippers. Less bathing tubs. Our hotel said we get a 10% discount, but the recipient didn’t want to give it to us. Spa was completely booked out. Wouldn’t recommend. Just go to the beach and safe the money!
Thomas — Google review
If you need to relax, this is the place to go! The pools have a variety of jets to target different muscles. Nearby is also the beach and resort town where you can get some pretty good food. I highly recommend going for a day of resetting.
Emily W — Google review
Great Thermae, very modern, spacy and enough place to relax. Indoor and outdoor relaxation possibles, lovely warm pool with several massage tools and waterfalls. Also for Kids.
Andreas B — Google review
The water was warm inside and outside even in the winter. We could have stayed all day. The restaurant on the second floor wasn't to our taste though. I would advise eating prior to getting there, and just eating their croissant and coffee.

Punta Tagliamento Lighthouse in Bibione is a picturesque white lighthouse with a concrete tower and an active light, built in 1913. It stands at the mouth of the Tagliamento river, offering stunning views and a glimpse into Bibione's maritime heritage. A walk or cycle during sunrise or sunset provides a serene experience to appreciate the natural beauty of the area.
The lighthouse is a great place for a short family trip. It’s a good destination for a bike ride (about 20 minutes from the city center). Entry is free of charge. The interior of the lighthouse is air-conditioned.

We walked and constantly had to avoid bicycles and scooters en route. When we arrived was quite underwhelming. Very basic facilities (coffee machine and vending machines) along with a small toilet block.

Nestled between Bibione and Lignano, Parco Zoo Punta Verde is a delightful escape for families and animal enthusiasts alike. Spanning an impressive 100,000 square meters, this zoo showcases over 200 species from around the globe in thoughtfully designed habitats that reflect their natural environments. Visitors can wander through themed areas like Africa and Australia while enjoying the lush botanical collections that highlight local flora.
This zoo impressed me so, so much. There are a wide variety of animals to see with information posted about each one. The animals are well taken care of. I loved being able to feed the goats for €0.50. They have animal stamps posted up throughout the zoo as well. The gift shop was cute and I loved the bags they had for sale. Overall, this was an incredible experience and I can’t wait to come back.
Kaeli W — Google review
This zoo is a great place to spend the day and offers a wide variety of animals to see, including capybaras, giraffes, tigers, pumas, and lions. The enclosures are nicely designed, and it’s clear that the animals are well cared for. The layout is easy to follow, so walking around is simple and enjoyable. One of the nice touches is the small bar where you can grab a cold drink or a snack like a sandwich perfect if you need a break. You can also bring your own food and enjoy it at one of the picnic tables, which is really convenient. Overall, it’s a fun and relaxing place to visit, whether you're going with friends, family, or just looking to enjoy a few hours surrounded by animals and nature. Highly recommended if you're looking for a well-kept zoo with a good atmosphere.
J M — Google review
Very clean, beautiful zoo. We were in the park for 5 hours. The only downside is no free water fountains (or at least not that we're aware), we paid 80 cent for a liter at a refill station. Other than that animals were out and about and we saw 90% of them very clearly, even the famous snow leopard.
Iva J — Google review
Small but nice zoo with quite many spieces on small territory. Some animals were hidden. Clean toilets, many opportunities to have a rest a many places for children. Nice time to spend when weather doesnt allow visiting the beach.
Ivan S — Google review
Well organised park, easy to get around, clean. It's accessible also for strollers and for people in wheelchair. It was thought through. Lots of trees that offer shade and 2 pretty big playgrounds for kids. Animals are well taken care of. The bathrooms are all clean, changing table for babies is also available. The parking is free 100m from the entrance. We enjoyed our day,it was during the week so we were almost alone. The only negative thing is the entrance fee. I believe it really is too expensive. We will come back because it's a great experience and well spent day..
Kristina S — Google review
One of the nicest Zoo I ever visited. Animals looked well taken care of and whole Zoo seems well maintained. There are also 2 nice playgrounds for kids. Would recommend for all families.

Market
Mercato di Lignano Sabbiadoro is a traditional Italian market that offers a typical summer market experience. The market is well-organized with clean facilities and a variety of stalls selling clothing, jewelry, ceramics, and more. Visitors can enjoy delicious piadina and Aperol Spritz prepared in food trucks. One stall offers beautiful paintings while others sell cheese, olives, and leather goods.
The local market in Lignano is an excellent shopping opportunity. There is simply everything available: souvenirs, pottery, clothing, leather goods such as belts, purses, ..., fashion jewellery, but also fruit, vegetable, bread, cheese. There are household items to be bought as well as there are stands with tables to have a snack. I am glad because we have purchased most of our souvenirs by now. Happy shopping to everyone!

Spiaggia di Pluto is a dog-friendly beach that offers a great experience for both dogs and their owners. The beach features a separate area for unleashed pets, complete with dedicated beach umbrellas equipped with sunbeds, sunchairs, and even a sunbed for the dog along with a water bowl. There's also an option to have a fenced area within the beach where dogs can be unleashed for an additional fee. Additionally, there's an agility area for dogs to enjoy.
I am here to share our week-long Pluto beach experience. Since we didn't have a sunbed voucher from an agency, therefore the price was quite high for us, but with an umbrella voucher it could have been much more affordable. Anyway, the beach itself is how a dog beach should be. It was always full, but it was always spottless clean, not once did we see dog waste, they clean the place regularly and the staff always checks if everything is ok. It was great to see the danish dog, the pitbull and the chihuahua all getting along with each other or playing together in the agility corner. We did not see any aggression or "fights", the owners kept the rules (!), also the staff made sure people understand and keep the rules, which I find very important with so many dogs and children being on the same field. All the people were very nice. Those who knew that their dog is less friendly, paid for the places with fence, which I really appreciated. They understood that their dog was not compatible with other dogs and paid the higher price for the place with fence. The other day we received a doggie bag from an Italian dog food brand, there were 2 packs of kibbles, other doggy supplies, a keychain, raincoat poncho, vitamins, etc. in it. You can get a doggy ice cream for 2,50 Euro (lactose and sugarfree with kibble toppings), our Chihuahua loved it, there is a mobile phone charger station and also a scale to measure the weight of your dog, if you want. You can't sleep or relax, because there are always a few dogs barking, but apart from that, it's a great beach: clean, friendly and customer-oriented. Keep up the good work, Pluto.

There is a reservation system, so if you did not book in advance, most probably you will not get a ticket. This is really annoying, especially when you see that at least 30% of the umbrellas are empty, but you cannot enter because the place is "fully booked" There is another, free, dog beach approx. 200 meters further and a smaller normal beach in between. Now imagine your wet dog at a sandy beach. At the free dog beach, there is no shower at all. At the normal beach, there is a shower, but you are not allowed to use it to shower your dog. You could shower your dog at the paid dog beach, but you cannot enter because you have no ticket. This place, and I mean the Bibione beach in general, is anything but dog-friendly. Otherwise it is a really nice and well-organized beach. A pleasant place to stay if you can enter. Improvement proposal: Do not make your customers feel let down. Stop the reservation-in-advance thing and let the people enter if you have free seats and umbrellas. The pictures show what the "fully booked" beach looks like from the outside.

Beach was much cleaner than expected. Staff was helpful, giving us what was needed, showing us where to fill the water bowl, and providing a lounger just for my dog. Bathrooms were a hole in the ground squat - difficult to manage with a disability.

A wonderful place to spend a day with your furry friend! The space is well maintained, super clean and well organized. Every family has a more than reasonable area to enjoy, with sun shade umbrella, bed and chair for humans and even a very comfortable ned for your Pluto! Bawl, leash and plenty of fresh water! Really amazing! And super friendly staff!!!!

Best dog beach ever. Clear rules that are enforced by staff to make everyone's stay much better and very relaxed. Service is very good and all the gadgets help to let your dog enjoy the beach.

I really like this beach. They have showers for dogs, changing rooms, and toilets. I would recommend visiting this place.

Great place for dogs and people! The beach is separated with the fence. Dedicated beach-umbrellas for each couple or family including 1 sunbed, 1 sunchair, 1 sunbed for dog, 1 dog leash and 1 bowl for water for your dog. Each dog must be leashed to sun-umbrella when leisuring. You Can Also get a separated/fenced Place within the beach where your dog could be unleashed All the tíme. That option is od course for a surcharge. The beach includes Also agility Area for dogs. Staff is great, always smiling and helpfull, Also actively watching if people and their dogs Stick to beach-rules to keep the place Safe and clean. Highly recommended!

Day 4

Off the beaten path
For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Piazza Castello Fountain. Not quite as popular as Bibione Thermae, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Fountains
Piazza Castello Fountain is an intricate circular fountain situated in front of the iconic Sforzesco Castle, which serves as a famous meeting point for locals and tourists alike. Even if you have limited time in Milan, it's worth stopping by to admire this beautiful fountain with its unique design. Additionally, visitors can explore the nearby Sempione park where they can enjoy a leisurely stroll while observing ducks, turtles and other birds.
Nice fountain at the entrance to the Castle. Came here early in the morning on a cloudy rainy day and it was really a nice experience. Hardly any crowd was there and the area was looking very nice and pretty. Lovely entrance and garden set up as you walk into the castle entry zone.
Sujay S — Google review
Absolutely loved this spot! The fountain adds a magical touch to the entrance of Castello Sforzesco. It's a great place to rest, take photos, or just enjoy the sound of the water and the energy of the square. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in Milan.
Salim A — Google review
The fountain in Piazza Castello is truly impressive! Grand in scale and beautifully designed. It offers a refreshing pause right in the square, just before entering the majestic Sforza Castle.
Eleni I — Google review
Piazza Castello Fountain – The Heartbeat of Historic Milan Located in front of the majestic Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco), the fountain at Piazza Castello is a beautiful and refreshing landmark. Often called Milan’s “wedding cake” fountain, it offers a perfect photo backdrop with the castle behind and wide tree-lined avenues surrounding it. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxing—ideal for a break while exploring Milan's historic center. Whether you're strolling through Parco Sempione or heading toward the Duomo, this spot is a must-see for first-time visitors. Great for photos, people-watching, or just enjoying a peaceful pause in the city.

Beautiful! Open space, lovely to walk around or sit on one of the many benches.
Audrey V — Google review
The fountain looks beautiful and impressive in the middle of the city. Built in 1936 for Mussolini's visit and nicknamed the 'wedding cake' by locals, it was restored and brought back to life in 2000 after decades in storage. Its setting in front of the historic Sforza Castle makes it a must-see landmark.
Yasser A — Google review
Nice stylish fontaine at the main entrance of Duke Sforca's castle. You can stop there to think about the mighty and beauty of the past generations, especially the people who admired art. You can read there about the role of Leonardo da Vinci in planning the castle.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Church of Saint Peter Martyr, originally built in 1348 and dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, was rebuilt in 1511 after being destroyed by fire. It now houses stunning artworks by renowned artists such as Bellini, Tintoretto, and Veronese. The church's Gothic and Venetian architectural styles make it a standout on Murano Island.
Church of St Peter is found along the canal not far from the pier. The paintings in the 14th century parish of Murano were by Giovanni Bellini, Paolo Veronese, Giovanni Agostino and other artists of the time. Best time to visit Murano is in May till August for the sun basked beauty of the island, its buildings, little shops and canals. Photography during these times is a treat and you’ll get your luscious shots around the island. Best of all the entrance to the church is free. You can drop an offering at the door as your love offering that goes to the maintenance of the church.
C.G. — Google review
This is one of only two remaining parish churches on the island of Murano. It combines elements of Early Gothic architecture with Renaissance and Baroque features. Originally built in 1348 alongside a Dominican monastery, the church was consecrated in 1417. After being destroyed in a major fire in 1474, it was rebuilt and completed in 1511. The church was closed under Napoleonic rule in 1806, but reopened as a parish church in 1813.
Seokjin H — Google review
The church is nice. Went to the museum inside too. Bellini’s baby Jesus and Mary paintings are fabulous. Frescos of the last supper was beautiful. Also to see the the ceiling of the church which was made as an upside down ship. Amazing!

(Translated by Google) We bought fresh pastries for breakfast on the beach. We thought the rolls were okay. But when we unwrapped the focaccia, half the tomatoes had mold growing on them. The dough itself was okay, but nothing more. The kids wanted a Minion cookie. It looked funny. It tasted chewy, and even our kids left it alone. It's a shame that such a small shop doesn't even care about the freshness of the pastries. (Original) Haben für das Frühstück am Strand frisches Gebäck gekauft. Dachten wir. Semmeln ok.
