Hiking Trails
The Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO-listed landscape featuring small towns perched between mountains and the sea. A popular activity is the Classic Amalfi Coast walking tour, an 11-day journey along the Footpath of the Gods, offering unrivaled Italian coastal hiking. The self-guided walk allows exploration at a personalized pace through idyllic villages like Praiano, Positano, Sorrento, Amalfi, and Maestra dei Villaggi.
Breathtaking and unforgettable! The Amalfi Coast is truly one of the most stunning places you’ll ever see—the views are absolutely postcard-perfect at every turn. Towering cliffs, sparkling turquoise waters, and picturesque villages make this destination something straight out of a dream. I highly recommend visiting by coach if possible. The roads are incredibly narrow, winding, and steep, and while experienced drivers might manage, it’s not for the faint-hearted! If you do decide to drive, go for a small car—a big vehicle would be a real challenge on those roads. Beaches are beautiful but often require a walk down the cliffs, and some do charge for entry. It’s worth it for the experience, though! The restaurants along the coast are wonderful—laid-back, welcoming, and happy to let you enjoy your meal without rushing you, which is refreshing in such a popular tourist spot. Parking is expensive—around €10 per hour—so if you’re driving, plan to make the most of your time there. Honestly, words don’t do it justice—I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. A place you’ll never forget!

Very cool views from a boat tour. The road is very busy and filled with traffic for 4 months of the year - it was still busy in late September. Ferries are probably the better option to see everything the coast has to offer.

Beautiful town. We went end Sept beginning of Oct and we found it busy - I'm not sure I'd like it at the height of the season! Narrow streets with lots of lovely restaurants and gift shops. Restaurants offer similar choices of food and drink and cost is relative to quality, the average for us was about 45€ each which was 1 main meal and a drink each. Be prepared for lots of hills and stairs! Taxis are expensive but buses and ferries are a cheaper way to travel. The buses are a hair-raising ride but the scenery and views are spectacular. Tickets for the bus are bought either on the bus, some hotels & shops or the terminal. Ferry tickets can be bought online or at the port usually about 10€ but you may be charged extra for luggage. The ferry and bus timetables are pretty spot on but beware of popular times - the bus won't stop if it's full and your next bus could be up to an hour wait. The buses can cost between 1.50€ to 2.50€ depending on time of day. All stops are request stops, other than the terminal. The weather can affect the running of the ferries so always best to have a back up plan. We did a tour bus to Pompei & Herculaneum which was about 2 hours travelling but that was also picking up other people on the way.

We visited Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. After a white-knuckle drive along a cliff-hugging road, we were rewarded with the most spectacular scenery. Words cannot convey the absolute beauty of the Amafi Coast. So here are some pictures. Better to see it in real life!
Dan T — Google review
Arrive by sea and you can see how beautiful the coastline is. But to say its busy is an understatement. The mainstreet is wall to wall people. Narrow at times, it still has a need for cars bikes and electric carts to go up and down it. Once you manage to get further up the widens and you see the real Amalfi. Move away from this street and things become better. Still busy, but not uncontrollably. Views are fantastically pretty. Recommend turning right first off the boat and walking up the hill. Longish walk but very worth it. Do the main Street once you have taken in this view. You'll accept the masses after that. Only views from the sea included, as that would spoil it

Had the chance to visit during the last week of October but there were still many tourists of which we were 2. We tried to visit by boat from Salerno but the weather was bad and the boats cancelled. We thus took the road which was amazing but not for the faint hearted and parking is scarce so only drive if you have to. The part btween Salerno and Positano was amazing and we loved in particular the smaller Atrani and more local Vietri sul Mare.
Julie J — Google review
Driving down the coast In a bus was a little nerve-wracking but the scenery is beautiful. I highly recommend taking the ferry from Salerno to Capri. The views are breath taking.
James B — Google review
The most beautiful drive I've ever taken with breathtaking views around every turn! The roads are narrow with tons of cars truck, motorcycles and pedestrians so if you're not an aggressive driver, this is not for you! Parking is almost impossible but if you can score a parking spot, walking around Amalfi is a delight!

Valle delle Ferriere

National park
Valle delle Ferriere is a deep valley on the Amalfi coast, offering a unique break from the beaches. The trail starts in Pontone and ends in Amalfi, passing by ruins of medieval foundries and water mills that once powered the town's paper-making industry. This nature reserve provides a quiet escape from the bustling world, with two different routes available for hikers to explore.
We did the tour mid March, starting from Pontone. There is parking along the street which is cheap in the off-season from December till March. In the summer it's probably hard to get a spot here. The hard parts of this route is the track from Amalfi to Pontone (1000 steps) and from Amalfi to the nature reserve (probably the nicer walk alongside the stream). We skipped those and went from Pontone straight to the nature reserve (45 minutes to the sign at the ruins, then 30 minutes to the reserve). Unfortunately the reserve was closed. Maybe it's only open at the weekend in the off-season. If you follow the stream to the fence you can see the small waterfall anyway. We really enjoyed the tour. It was quiet and peaceful and the nature was beautiful.

A must visit!!! 45 minutes hike away from Amalfi, the place is a time forgotten, intact, simply beautiful, and breathtaking. Tingly recommended.
Alexander L — Google review
We started the Valle delle Ferriere hike right after arriving in Amalfi and it was such a great way to kick things off. If you’re looking to get away from the busy town and enjoy some peace, nature, and amazing views, we totally recommend it. At one point we reached the Natura 2000 reserve, where there’s a small €5 entrance fee per person. After seeing some beautiful views, we continued toward Pontone and eventually made our way back to Amalfi. The hike was a bit tiring in places, but honestly, the scenery made it 100% worth it. A beautiful trail and a great adventure overall!
Izabela G — Google review
A paradise in this valley - very comfortable stay. The climb is worth it, plus the steps help you digest all the yummy food the area has to offer. Breakfast was such a treat, the attention to detail was incredible. Gino was so helpful and kind. It’s a calm place very close to the busy city center, it’s peaceful.
Miriam N — Google review
Very beautiful walk. We started from Pontone and walked to Scala. The waterfalls were not too spectacular (you have to pay at some point to continue to the other waterfall which we didn't do) but the views were! Mostly the second part, close to Scala. We got lost at some point, probably around where the land slide must have been two years ago, but eventually we arrived back on the road. Some parts are very narrow close to the cliffs, so always careful!

Amalfi Secret Eden Tucked behind the bustling streets of Amalfi lies a sanctuary that feels worlds away, Valle delle Ferriere. This lush, misty valley is a haven for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and anyone craving a quieter, more contemplative escape from the coast. The trail begins just above Amalfi and winds gently through lemon groves, ancient aqueducts, and moss-covered ruins. As you ascend, the air cools and the soundscape shifts birdsong, trickling streams, and the occasional rustle of leaves replace the hum of scooters and chatter below. The path is well-marked and moderately easy, making it suitable for most walkers. What makes this valley truly special is its layered history. Once the heart of Amalfi's ironworks and paper mills, the remnants of these industries now sit quietly among ferns and waterfalls, slowly reclaimed by nature. The restricted reserve area, accessible for a small fee, reveals rare botanical species and a microclimate so unique it shelters plants found nowhere else in Europe. Whether you're drawn by the ecological richness, the historical intrigue, or simply the serenity, Valle delle Ferriere delivers a kind of magic that's hard to find along the more tourist-trodden paths. It's not just a hike it's a gentle immersion into a quieter rhythm of the Amalfi Coast.

Valle delle Ferriere is a nature reserve. It is a beautiful quiet place to get away from this loud world. This trail is not easy. You have to take 11km or more (it depending on the route) You can take at least two different route from Amalfi and Pontone. The trail is natural, it starts in the residential area at the end of the city then goes uphill in the forest. There is a point where the mountain collapsed. Don't panic, just climb through it, after that the trail is good again. If you run out of water, there is a tap by the road near the water that comes with drinkable water. You can visit along the way the ruins of an iron factory and a paper factory, not to mention the small and large waterfalls along the way. At the and of the trail is the great waterfall, 20m high. You have to pay 5EUR fee to watch it but I think it is worth it. I recommend to bring some sandwiches and some drink and wear a proper hiking boots.

This is a stunningly beautiful, not too difficult walk ending in a magical, otherworldly feeling waterfall. We did this walk in late October when it was not too hot and almost no one else around. I would NOT do this in the summer because of the heat.

The Chiostro del Paradiso, also known as the Cloister of Paradise, is a 13th-century Moorish-style cloister located near St. Andrew's Cathedral in Amalfi. This architectural gem boasts 120 columns and houses religious artifacts and the tombs of prominent Italians from the Campania region. The cloister features lush greenery with bushes and palm trees, creating a serene atmosphere for visitors to explore.
Cathedral of St. Andrew, Cloister of Paradise, Crypt, and Diocesan Museum all in one place and with one ticket. It wouldn't take you longer than 1hr to explore

The highlight of the entire cathedral visit. Beautiful chapels with frescos, the perfect white-arch architecture and the green interior amount to the closter being the nicest thing of the entire cathedral tour.

This place looks great on photos but the exhibition is very small. It’s a good way to spend maybe 15-30 minutes depending on how many photos you want to take. I thought it was worth the price.

In the heart of Amalfi, a hidden gem of tranquil beauty emerges—the Chiostro del Paradiso, a cloister that transcends mere architectural marvel to become a sanctuary of the soul. As we enter this sacred oasis, let us explore its intricate details, where the technical and the poetic converge in a harmonious dance. Design and Layout: The Chiostro del Paradiso is a cloister of graceful proportion, an architectural symphony of symmetry and serenity. It follows the classic form of a quadrilateral, with a central courtyard graced by a lush garden. Cloister walkways, supported by slender columns, envelop the garden like loving arms, offering both shelter and an open embrace to visitors. Columns and Capitals: The cloister's columns are carved from the same local limestone that characterizes Amalfi's architecture. Each column rises with a slender grace, their capitals adorned with intricate foliage and geometric patterns, akin to a choir of voices singing in stone. These capitals, like botanical manuscripts, whisper secrets of the natural world. Archways and Vaults: As one walks through the cloister, the archways form a rhythmic procession, guiding the eye and the soul. Above, the vaulted ceilings, adorned with delicate frescoes, are a celestial canvas that tells stories of saints and miracles. The arches and vaults create a sense of harmony and balance, inviting contemplation and reflection. Garden and Flora: The central garden is a verdant paradise, a microcosm of the natural world's splendor. Here, citrus trees, fragrant with blossoms, offer shade and a gentle fragrance that lingers in the air. Roses, like the blush of youth, climb trellises, and vibrant bougainvillea spills over the walls, creating a palette of colors that mirror the Mediterranean. Fountain and Waterscape: At the heart of the garden, a serene fountain glistens with crystal-clear waters. Its soothing murmur is a backdrop to quiet contemplation, a symphony of liquid notes that dances in the air. The play of sunlight on the water's surface creates a shimmering mosaic of reflections. Statuary and Sculpture: Amidst the greenery, sculpted saints and biblical figures stand sentinel. Their faces bear expressions of serenity and grace, their forms a testament to the skill of the craftsmen. These statues seem to come alive in the dappled light, as if they, too, partake in the cloister's timeless reverie. The Chiostro del Paradiso is more than an architectural wonder; it is a sanctuary of the senses, where the technical and the poetic converge to create a place of serenity and spiritual awakening. It is a testament to the enduring power of design, nature, and the human spirit to create spaces that transcend the ordinary and touch the divine. In its tranquil embrace, we find not just a cloister, but a glimpse of paradise itself—a testament to the harmonious coexistence of art, architecture, and the natural world.

Who knew St. Andrew, the first disciple of Jesus, is supposedly buried here? The cloister is outstanding and the original church with its bronze doors cast in Constantinople and dedicated to St. Andrew makes you feel you are in the 10th c.

The Cathedral of St. Andrew Apostle, also known as the Cathedral of Amalfi, is a historic church located in the town of Amalfi in Campania, Italy. Originally built in the 10th century and later expanded into a grand Roman church with multiple porches and halls, it has undergone several renovations over the centuries. The entrance features a bronze gate from Constantinople and golden mosaics depicting Moorish life.
The Cathedral of St. Andrew the Apostle is strikingly beautiful and sits right at the center of Amalfi’s main piazza. You’ll enter by climbing a dramatic grand staircase, which makes the whole experience feel even more impressive. Inside, the cathedral features stunning marble throughout and intricately detailed painted mural ceilings. The crypt, which holds the relics of St. Andrew, is a peaceful space still used for prayer, adding to the spiritual depth of the visit. Just off the main cathedral is the Cloister of Paradise, a quiet and beautiful courtyard surrounded by elegant columns and arches. There’s also a small museum on-site with religious artifacts, including a display case said to hold a thorn from the crown of Jesus during the crucifixion. Whether you're visiting for the history, architecture, or spiritual connection, the cathedral leaves a lasting impression.

St. Andrew’s Cathedral stands as the magnificent centerpiece of Amalfi’s main square, serving as the town’s spiritual heart. The cathedral’s stunning architecture and sacred atmosphere create an unforgettable experience, particularly the rare opportunity to venerate a relic of St. Andrew, Christ’s first disciple. The adjoining museum and ancient crypt are equally impressive, offering rich historical insights. The staff welcomes visitors with genuine warmth and helpfulness. For English-speaking visitors: the cathedral offers Sunday evening Mass in English at 6 PM during summer months. While intimate in size, this service provides a meaningful opportunity for international visitors to fully participate in worship after attending Italian-language services elsewhere. St. Andrew’s Cathedral exemplifies Christian hospitality, graciously accommodating both pilgrims and tourists with a spirit that truly reflects its sacred mission.

Visiting the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Amalfi was one of the most impressive experiences of my trip. The church is truly breathtaking, both inside and out. The grand staircase leading up to the entrance, the beautifully detailed façade, and the striking blend of architectural styles make it a masterpiece that immediately captures your attention. Inside, the atmosphere is equally captivating—peaceful, spiritual, and filled with artistic details that reflect centuries of history. Every corner seems to tell a story, and the craftsmanship is nothing short of extraordinary. I would recommend this place without hesitation to anyone visiting Amalfi. It is not only a landmark but also an unforgettable cultural and spiritual experience that should not be missed.
Alexandru M — Google review
Must see cathedral with incredible history and architecture spanning 4 different styles, Romanesque, Arab-Norman, Baroque, and Gothic. The church has been rebuilt and added to so many times, making it a really unique piece of history and a snapshot of the culture of the time of construction. Of note obviously is the supposed remains of Saint Andrew who is said to be interred in a crypt from the 1200’s. Not to be outdone by any of the other strange and amazing claims by European Catholic Churches, it is said that manna forms on the sarcophagus and collected from the saints bones, so that’s something. All weirdness aside, the artwork, craftsmanship, and ornate structures inside and out are so worth the price of admission.
Guineviere C — Google review
The Cathedral of St Andrew in Amalfi is a beautiful medieval church incorporating various architectural styles and dominating the central piazza of Amalfi. When we visited there was a service taking place so we contented ourdelves with the beautiful facade and the historic area around the cathedral. Parking in Amalfi was surprisingly easy since the town has a huge underground car park hollowed out of a hill which certainly saves trying to find street parking.

The Cathedral of St Andrew in Amalfi is worth every sweaty step up those stairs, think of it as your cardio session before the spiritual experience. The place is stunning, grand enough to make you forget your aching calves. Inside, it’s peaceful, beautiful, and full of history. Outside, it’s pure Italian drama, bells ringing, tourists posing, and pigeons doing whatever pigeons do best. A perfect mix of holiness and chaos. Highly recommend, but maybe skip leg day before visiting.

The Cattedrale di Sant’Andrea in Amalfi is one of the town’s most beautiful landmarks and absolutely worth a visit. The exterior is stunning, with its impressive staircase and striking façade that immediately catches your eye as you arrive in the main square. Inside, the church is just as remarkable, with ornate details and a peaceful yet solemn atmosphere. It’s also an important religious site as it houses the relics of Saint Andrew. There is usually a lot of people, so expect crowds, especially during the day, but it is still an unmissable stop if you are in Amalfi.

The Cathedral of St Andrew Apostle is one of the most beautiful landmarks I’ve visited. Its striking black-and-white striped façade and grand staircase create an unforgettable first impression. Climbing the steps gives you a sense of anticipation, and when you finally stand in front of the entrance, the intricate details of the architecture truly stand out. Inside, the cathedral is just as impressive. The combination of rich mosaics, marble columns, and golden details creates an atmosphere of both grandeur and peace. Light streaming through the windows adds to the beauty, highlighting the craftsmanship in every corner. I visited on a weekday and only waited about 10 minutes to enter, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable. The location in the heart of Amalfi adds to the charm, as you can explore the surrounding streets and enjoy a coffee or gelato after your visit. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a breathtaking spot to appreciate, this cathedral is a must-see. It’s a place where you can slow down, take in the beauty, and feel connected to centuries of tradition and faith.

Cantine Marisa Cuomo is an iconic winery located in the stunning Amalfi Coast of Campania. The Fiorduva wine, a standout from their collection, offers a delightful blend of broom, orange blossom, passion fruit, and candied apricot with hints of Mediterranean scrub and cedar.
Definitely the best view from a vineyard we've ever been to, and an interesting history as well. The tour of the winery was well done and our guide was great. As expected, our lunch and tasting that followed was also very nice. The views from the restaurant were a wonderful compliment to the meal, and each wine in our tasting was explained nicely. I wish we would have had a red in our tasting but that's not a big negative to the overall quality and presentation we received. Furore is a little bit of a pain to get to as you either need to pay quite a premium for the taxis in the region (compared to other areas) or wait for a bus and hope that they're on-time. But would highly recommend you take the time to visit as it's worth the trip
Connor B — Google review
To book a tour they strictly demand a signed document and creditcard information first, which we disliked. The cheapest tour costs 85€ excl service charge and can be upgraded up to 130€. At 17:00 we first had a tour around the vineyard, cellar and production area, which was very interesting. Then we had to wait 1.5 hours for the tasting in the restaurant across the road. The view from the terrace was beautiful but we had to pay for any extra drinks in the mean time. The waiter was friendly but strange, explicitly giving every table “special treatment”. The food accompanying the wine tasting was basic with ingredients consisting of mostly bread and tomatoes. The wine tasting included their 2023 white, red and rose wine. This was a shame because for the price of 85€ we expected to at least taste some of their better wines. The wines tasted average to us. Compared to similar wine houses. To top it all off there was no possibility to purchase wine after tasting because the shop had closed (21:00 already we were served the last wine). The only option would be to purchase some wines before tasting, which the staff did not mention.
Jonah P — Google review
The winery has incredible views and interesting way of harvesting the grapes. We paid €165pp for tour, cooking class, and lunch/wine tasting. We only learned to roll pasta, and they did the rest. The lunch was less than average and they do not offer the “better” wines in the tasting. For those of us who visit wineries in the world, we want to try the “better” wines so we can purchase a case and ship back home. We are not going to buy wine we haven’t tasted, especially when there were eight people at the tasting and they could have easily opened one bottle to try. We have been to other wineries in Italy who offer the “better” wines (at an even higher price point) proudly. Disappointing, considering we paid a driver to take us 1.5 hours each way from Sorrento.
Christelle F — Google review
Amazing views, even better wine, and exceptional guest service. Only thing I wish was better was the food. The food was not all that and I was hungry. Other than that, the winery itself is amazing and the wine is great, even bought a bottle for the road.

Very cool experience to come and learn about this winery. Best of all, the tour is free! The restaurant next door is where you can buy each glass. I didn’t go with their tasting tour as it allowed me more flexibility. We went to the restaurant to get some glasses to try and then came back to buy some bottles. Well worth it and very unique! Need a reservation though (for the free winery tour). Our group was the only one on the tour so felt very exclusive.
Jacob H — Google review
The wine tour was quite nice and the tour guide was kind. At the tasting at the restaurant across the street, the waiters were extremely friendly and the view was great with a very nice terrace (but no different than other views along the clear). The wine was very good. The food was quite poor, especially for the price. Nearly 100 euros per head, very small portions, and not very tasty. Only a minimal discount for non-drinkers, so given the price I'd say it wasn't worth it.

My family and I really enjoyed the winery tour and learning about the unique harvesting methods necessary on the amalfi coast. I should also mention that we came with a 2 and a 6 year old and our tour guide was extremely accommodating with the kids and this made learning about the winery fun for everyone. The subsequent dinner was fantastic also and the views spectacular - highly recommend for a very unique winery experience.

Pasticceria Pansa in Amalfi is a historic pastry shop and cafe that has been delighting visitors since 1830. This family-owned establishment, founded by Andrea Pansa, boasts five generations of proud leadership and was recognized as a historic landmark in 2001. The interior still retains its 19th-century decor and has welcomed storied clientele over the years.
An absolute gem in the heart of Amalfi! The pastries are exceptional – especially the lemon delights and sfogliatella, full of authentic flavor and beautifully presented. The historic atmosphere and location right next to the Duomo make it even more special. Service was friendly and efficient, even though it was busy. Yes, it’s a little pricey, but worth every cent for the quality and experience. A must-visit if you’re in Amalfi

Pansa Amalfi Café is a lovely spot with truly delicious pastries and ice creams — some of the best we tried in Amalfi. The quality and presentation of the sweets definitely make it worth a visit. The only downside was the drinks. Paying €8 for a simple cup of tea or coffee didn’t feel justified, though for the pastries it might be worth it. Still, it’s a beautiful café with great flavors and a must-try for the desserts.

We absolutely loved the sfogliatella and delizia al limone here! The shop offers two options: one price for takeout and another if you sit outside for table service. When we visited, there was a live music show on the cathedral steps, so we grabbed our desserts to go and enjoyed them there. Both pastries were incredibly delicious, creamy, soft, and full of authentic Amalfi flavor. Now that we’re back in the United States, we find ourselves craving them all the time!

The place is quite busy, however the staff was very kind and friendly. The service is quick. They had many types of pastries and nice coffee, all ranged between 5-10€. We tried their tiramisu and croissant with some sort of bavarian cream. Both were very tasty. There aren't many places to sit, but the place is located right in the centre of Amalfi, in very close proximity to the bus station and the port.

Perhaps the best seat (and certainly the hardest to acquire) in Piazza Duomo....so worth it! Almost too many choices of the most scrumptious sweet & savory pastries, not to mention coffees, teas, beers, wines and cocktails. If no outside tables available, go inside - order/pay then take your treasures out to the square to enjoy the Fontana di Sant’Andrea, the Cathedral of St Andrew and the beauty and diversity of your fellow tourists and locals in a storybook setting!!!

I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. As Chinese customers, we immediately felt discriminated against by the way the waiter treated us. I wasn’t feeling well that day, so while my friends were leaving, I decided to stay a little longer and simply ordered a hot tea. The waiter noticed this and, without explanation, insisted that I change my seat with another guest. Both I and the other guest were comfortable where we were, and he clearly didn’t want to move either. Despite this, the waiter pressured us to switch tables, speaking to him in a way that left us no choice. The entire arrangement was extremely uncomfortable. Instead of treating us with basic respect as paying customers, the staff made us feel unwelcome and even pushed us to leave. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and left a very negative impression of the restaurant. The waiter is the person here in pic 2. She is super ra🌝ci .st

Everything was exceptional. The Delizia al Limone & Hazelnut Croissant were particularly outstanding. A must-stop for the best Amalfi Coast pastries.

Yeah its the posh one but they are well placed, polite and do have a wide selection of very nice cakes! The lemon delight being their signature one apparently. We had a lovely yummy 30 minute people watching session here! We actually had asked for iced coffee but got cappucino - surprised they even made that being the afternoon and all.

Baccofurore Albergo Dipinto e Hostaria dal 1930 is a charming hotel located in Furore, known as the painted village due to its vibrant murals. The hotel offers bright rooms with balconies and sea views, and a restaurant with terrace dining. The Ferraioli family has modernized the nine rooms above the restaurant, each adorned with unique murals by local artists.
I had a lovely dinner here tonight with a good friend of mine. We were warmly welcomed into the spacious and elegant dining room. Seated near the windows which offer an excellent view of the coast. The food was absolutely delicious, and the chocolate cake with caramel was one of my favorite desserts I’ve had in Italy in my 2 month stay. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful, and very attentive. The prices were also very reasonable, as a college student I found getting 3 courses for two people was under 100 euros. I found this restaurant on the Michelin guide and hope it gets a well earned star at some point it it’s nearly 100 years of service. Definitely worth the excursion to get to Furore!

A Truly Wonderful Dining Experience I had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant, and I can honestly say it exceeded all my expectations. The food was absolutely outstanding, every dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients.

A beautiful little gem on the Amalfi coast! Stunning views, beautiful modern, clean and comfortable rooms, an incredible restaurant on site, and the best part was the friendly and welcoming staff. We absolutely loved our stay, and can't wait to go back again.

This hotel exceeding expectations, the service is by far one of the best I’ve ever experienced. All staff are friendly, organized and helpful. The rooms are clean, beautiful and have a great view. The restaurant has great food and even better service. Location: it is right outside the bus stop that takes 30 minutes to amalfi, which is really convenient.

Unfortunately, we did not get the rooms we originally booked. After our first room was damaged, we were moved to a premium room for two nights (we are thankful for that), but then shifted to much worse rooms for three nights that were uncomfortable and not worth the price which is unacceptavle. The reception and restaurant are 400 meters uphill, which is inconvenient and they could have mentioned about it somewhere at the time of booking. WiFi was unreliable and there was no continuous hot water for showers. This was supposed to be a special babymoon trip, but the poor service and inconvenience were very disappointing. Have been to better places than Hotel Bacco for the price we paid. Suggest to avoid!

We were really looking forward to our Cantine Marisa Cuomo winery tour and tasting menu. Sorry to say we were really disappointed by both the food quality and the wines offered. Only redemption were the service which was attentive, and the view of the coast which was amazing. I'm surprised by the 5 stars given and also the Michelin guide recommendation. I had better food and wine in other restaurants in Amalfi coast. We really wanted to like the experience but it just didn't make the cut. Thank you for your good service though.

Ate dinner here with my wife a few days ago and it was hands down our best experience in Italy. Was part of our wine tour and tasting with Marisa Cuomo winery across the street, and the food, view, and staff were all amazing. Antonio went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and answer all questions food, wine, and Italy related. Will be recommending this to anyone I know visiting the Amalfi Coast.

Sensi Restaurant is a charming Italian eatery perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. The menu boasts delectable options like Moules and Polpette Al Forno. Nestled in an eighteenth-century noble palace, the restaurant's modern and elegant style complements the classicism of the building. Guests can enjoy a beautiful panoramic terrace overlooking the sea, creating an intimate yet lively atmosphere.
I've visited quite a few michelin restaurants now and this is up there with the best. Went for the 8 course menu and they also give you amuse bouches and a pre dessert and also an after dessert on top of the main tasting menu. Staff are caring and printed off a menu for keep sake and took a photo for my memories. Felt like I was taken on a journey and would reccomend to anyone.

Exceptional food, service, and overall experience! The dishes were both delicious and unique.. loved the 6 sensi tasting menu with wine pairing. I sometimes find fine dining restaurants a bit rigid and formal, but that wasn’t the case here. Pasquale and his team are wonderfully warm and friendly, creating a welcoming yet special atmosphere. Perfect for a memorable occasion ~ I’ll definitely be back!

Worthy of its Michelin star for sure. What an experience from start to finish we had, with each dish complimenting the wine pairing perfectly. Staff is extremely attentive and friendly and knowledgeable about everything in the restaurant. The dream experience tasting menu was world class!

Came here for our honeymoon on vacation and had to book this place. My wife and I are vegan so we ate from the natural pre fixed menu which is free of salt, sugar, flour, and dairy. Every dish was absolutely delicious. The service was phenomenal. Each dish was so flavorful. They were so nice and it was overall a 10/10 experience. I definitely recommend going here on your trip. Thank you so much for such an incredible dinner!!!!

What a magical evening. The views are phenomenal with the lighted trees and over looking the water. The staff is incredibly polite and accommodating. We visited Sensi in late October. It’s right next to the Amalfi Cathedral. The town is packed with tourists and the restaurant, looking over the beach, is oasis. We loved the brut Millesimato Franciacorta to go with the tuna tartare and Lemon sea bass.

I had dinner at sensi as a solo traveller and all I can say is outstanding. The staff made me feel extremely welcome and comfortable and kept me entertained without being invasive. I ordered the 6 course tasting menu that came with a complementary welcome starter and enjoyed every single dish. The dining balcony overlooks the amalfi main road and coast which makes the atmosphere unique and charming. Overall had a great experience and would definitely recommend a visit. Thank you to Pasquale for his warm welcome and attentive service.

Located in Amalfi, Da Gemma is an upscale restaurant offering a delightful dining experience with its expansive terrace overlooking the bustling street below. The menu features grilled meats, octopus, and pasta dishes from the Salerno region. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh, high-quality ingredients and offers gluten-free options prepared with great care by the chef.
I’m not sure what the other reviewers weee complaining about because we had a great meal and fabulous service. We came in for lunch! Our server was courteous and even tried to speak a bit of Thai to us! Food is great, it’s certainly not cheap but worth every penny! Had the raw seafood dish and some pasta with some prosecco (pictured pasta was split into two portions, you actually get a lot)

Beautiful restaurant and dishes, though not every one was exceptional. The grilled octopus with potato strips in a cream sauce was exceptional. The mozzarella prepared 3 ways was also quite good. The tuna carpaccio was beautiful but zero flavor. The service was desultory. Overall, a nice experience in a very touristy spot.

What can I say? These guys went out of their way to accommodate our large group of 14, a really last minute surprise to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. I don't remember all the dishes we had but all of it was fresh and delicious. No complaints at all. Truly a memorable meal and one of our top meals on the Amalfi coastline. And the service was super friendly and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend Da Gemma.

Amazing meal here one of our best in the area. I had the Genovese and the steak - both were amazing. Staff was super attentive and very nice. Everyone enjoyed their meal - highly recommend 5/5!

My mother and I loved Da Gemma! I would recommend making a reservation online. We made ours for 7PM/19:00, when they open, and showed up a few minutes early, which led to us being seated at one of the best tables with a view of the main Amalfi street below the terrace. The ambiance was wonderful, our servers were friendly and recommended us good wine— and they let us box up the dessert when we were too full to finish the 6-course “Gemma” seafood prix fixe. This is the best meal we had in Italy so far— expensive but well worth the cost. Every dish was amazing. We had the following: - Raw seafood plate (our favorite was the grouper) -Octopus dish with creamy mashed potatoes -Fresh squid ink pasta with tomatoes and octopus in a delicious light buttery sauce -Pasta stuffed with burrata and black truffle in a creamy red sauce -Slice of the catch of the day with potatoes (not pictured, sorry) -Tiramisu (not pictured, but this came with both a pre-dessert and a post dessert: limoncello and other small bites)

Day 2

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Fiordo di Furore, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Il Borgo degli Dei. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Fiordo di Furore

Fiordo di Furore is a stunning narrow cove with steep cliffs on either side and an iconic arched bridge. Accessible via the SS163 road, it's recommended to take the SITA bus to the stop of the same name due to limited parking. The town is renowned for its 30-meter high suspension bridge, which hosts a stage of the World Championship of Diving from Great Heights every summer.
What a beautiful and hidden place to enjoy the sea. Its difficult to find a parking spot, so a lot of persons are parking on the street, but the risk of getting a bill is not unimportant if you do this. The easiest way to get there is a bus, which is directly stopping on the entry or a moped. The beach is a stony one and not special at all, but the water and the view is nice. In Case of getting a sunbed you have to pay 15 euros in cash ;)
Musti M — Google review
We took the stairs for Furore - what an intense hike of about a thousand steps. Would recommend getting transport back up as the journey back was a killer. Such a beautiful spot with a great opportunity to swim and enjoy the scenery. There are spots to dive in if that is your thing. Otherwise enjoy the beautiful views.
Megan M — Google review
Fantastic. I recommend going in the afternoon. There are fewer crowds and you can see the colors of the sunset. Although you can't see the sun because it sets behind the mountain, the atmosphere is more peaceful than in the morning, when it's crowded.
Antonella G — Google review
Beautiful, but very busy. Had a really lovely swim, and enjoyed an Aperol Spritz in the little cafe/bar there, which was most welcome! Quite a pull back up the hill to the village of Furore, and took twice as long as Google maps suggested, but then we're probably slower than younger, fitter walkers!
Julia D — Google review
A fantastic place that is worth seeing! Boat tours include this place in their itineraries, but I would say that it is much more impressive to see and experience it from the other side. Just keep in mind that public transport here is very crowded, and it is advisable to book a seat on one of the small buses in advance if you are not traveling by car. If you are traveling by car, keep in mind that there is practically no parking here. The road is very narrow, as it is everywhere on the Amalfi coast. But the view is worth the effort.
M. ( — Google review
A very chill beach we're you can book an umbrella and chairs or just set the on the beach for free if you want. There is general street parking for 4€ per hour and another private parking for 5€ per hour but at least your car won't be scratched. They are 3 restaurants there. The beach is panels not sand but still not to uncomfortable to set. Vote is amazing and the water is awesome.

Marina di Praia is a charming and laid-back fishing hamlet located just east of Positano. This picturesque destination features a cluster of cottages, a small strip of sand, colorful boats, and a couple of restaurants. Visitors can rent a boat with or without a skipper to explore the coastline or simply relax among the whitewashed houses in the nearby village of Praiano. The area offers stunning views of the Saracen watchtower and crystal-clear waters for swimming.
We both enjoyed this cute little bay more than anything during our self-driven Amalfi Coast day trip. Bus tours don't seem to stop here, so it is mostly people who drive themselves, and therefore it is not overcrowded at all. It is truly magical, and you can even rent your own boat here. Would be nice to try next time!

Such a nice beach nestled in a rock area. Lot of restaurants nearby, you also can rent the sun-beds at 50 euros a day which is very convenient. There is a parking lot as well which is a very nice to have in the area otherwise there is also a shuttle service that get you there
Yousra M — Google review
Marina di Praia is absolutely magical. I loved that there are two sections to enjoy. The main beach is a pebble beach (definitely bring water shoes, I needed them), and the water is calm, stunning, and so comfortable. You’re nestled between two towering cliffs, and it feels like you’re in a secret, special place. The second section is just along the path by the boat tours, you can drop your things by the path and dive straight into the sea. Surrounded by boats, it honestly feels like you’re living in a movie. This spot has such a unique magic to it, I’ll never forget it.
Mike P — Google review
Great spot, quite and not too touristic. The trattoria next to the beach is great

Definitely check out this beach if you’re trying to enjoy the water on the amalfi coast. There’s a free and paid section. The free side has the sun in the morning, so this would be better as an afternoon/ late morning spot. The market nearby is pricey, so highly recommended bringing your own lunch & drinks.

Very beautiful beach situated in the cliffs, the best beach in the area. Also has nice restaurants, restrooms and bed rental available. Beds were around 70euro but have a spot for laying a towel down, but you'll need to get there early-ish to grab a spot.

With competitive rates, polite and pleasant skippers, and a range of inclusions such as Prosecco, fruits, water, cold drinks, towels, and snorkeling gear, it's a highly recommended choice for a full-day tour. Customers have praised the smooth rides on 26 ft.
This was easily one of the best experiences my family and I had on our trip to Italy. Saverio was a fantastic captain and brought us to the most beautiful places on the Amalfi Coast. For anyone visiting this area I highly recommend this experience!! I hope to be back again someday!

My family and I had wonderful boat trip on the coast yesterday! Our Skipper, Manuel, was incredible… A true professional - kind, humble, helpful, and skilled! My older parents were with me and my mom has some trouble getting around, and Manuel went the extra steps to take care of her with patience and grace! The boat was in perfect condition and Manual was always offering us refreshments when we needed them. The fresh fruit was a delicious treat! This was a true life-changing experience for my family and we are so grateful!

We had an unforgettable experience with Saverio and his company, Fjord Charters! He picked us up directly from Amalfi town, and from the moment we stepped on board, everything was smooth, relaxing, and beautifully organized. Saverio was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, offering great commentary as we cruised along the coast. He took us to all the right spots, including a wonderful visit to Positano, with plenty of time to explore and soak in the views. The scenery throughout the journey was absolutely breathtaking. To top it all off, there was flowing prosecco and fresh fruit on board — a perfect touch of luxury. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip. If you're visiting the Amalfi Coast, this is a must-do experience. Highly recommend!

Heard about this charter from our AirBnB host. Saverio was very accomodating of our group of 9 and very last minute booking (<24hrs!). Not only did he quickly respond, he was amazing at answering our requests involving an infant seat, dietary requirements and itinerary all for a very reasonable price. Our skipper Andreas was also very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job taking us around the Amalfi coast and for swimming spots. Seriously could not recommend this charter more!

It was by far the highlight of our fantastic vacation! Saverio expertly guided us to stunning destinations while sharing fascinating insights and rich history about the coast. He was not just a skilled captain but also an outstanding host, making us feel welcome and valued throughout the journey. The snacks and drinks that Saverio provided were delightful. The boat was impeccably clean and meticulously maintained, which added to the overall enjoyment of the tour. This experience far surpassed our expectations! I wholeheartedly recommend Fjord Charter and Captain Saverio to anyone looking for the absolute best boat tour on the Amalfi Coast.

Most AMAZING day with Fjord Charter on the Amalfi coast! Super super accommodating to my family age ranges from 8 to 80! We went out a couple days and it ended just an hour after we left bc weather took a turn for the worst. I was very worried I was going to loose my money, but they graciously rescheduled for a better day. Savario was super sweet and knowledgeable about the coastline. My daughter collected sea glass on a private beach and we left on the boat and he kindly dropped off at our villa! Who does that?! Swam, ate, drank (a lot lol) and took in the beauty. Highly recommend this company to make memories on the almafi coast

My family and my sister-in-law’s family went on a boat tour today with Fjord Charter Amalfi Coast and I cannot say enough good things about our experience! From the time we were met Saverio at the boat, to the time we got off the boat at the end of the day, we did not stop laughing, dancing, singing, Swimming and drinking! I was told by a few people in our family that it was one of their top days ever! Saverio is very knowledgeable and explained each area of the Amalfi coast as we arrived to it and told us little details about different castles and houses and beaches and made the tour educational as well as unbelievably fun! Saverio was very kind and thoughtful! My family and I will definitely book another boat tour with him when we come back to the Amalfi Coast!!!

Il Borgo degli Dei is a picturesque cluster of old fishermen's houses perched on the dramatic cliffs of Furore, Italy. The fiord, a high gorge cutting inland from the sea, has been transformed into an appealing tourist spot by local authorities and environmental groups. While the restaurant may be a bit remote, it is worth the walk for its accommodating service and high-quality food.
We had a fantastic dining experience at this charming restaurant. The service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious, all set in a nice and quiet neighborhood. We ordered two antipasti, two pasta dishes, and a bottle of wine, all for just 60 euros. Every bite was incredibly tasty. To top it off, our server graciously gave us a couple of limoncello shots for the walk home. Highly recommend this place.

Great experience, we ordered three pastas and some fried calamari and shrimp and the steak all amazing quality. Big portions for the pastas. Felt like a gourmet dinner and we essentially had the place to ourselves. While it is a little out of the way I think it’s worth it. The view was also great and the dishes were also fairly priced with the pastas costing around 10 euros each.

Best food we had in Italy! After hiking the famous “Path of the Gods” we were looking for a great place to eat and this one caught our attention. When I say everything was delicious, everything was delicious. We had the parmesan aubergine (best I ever had), the Italian beef cooked to perfection, the baked potatoes and a plate of pasta with courgettes and fresh basil. We also had a bottle of red wine and desert, all of it for 77 euros. In other restaurants and coffee shops we ate for 50-80 euros and it wasn’t nearly as good and much smaller portions. Strongly recommend!!

Zero. They don’t even have a wine menu, just below the coca cola you have a few names of wineries and a global one like Chardonnay. So so basic. Food was below average. Service was…: - a lady in orange tights was absent, completely useless - the boy however was professional Do not recommend. For the owner : when Italian clients return half pizza untouched, something is bad.

Today was the second time we went to this restaurant. We were very pleased the first time, so we wanted to go a second time. Today's experience was extremely bad. Although we ordered the same pasta as the first time, a completely different pasta with a different sauce arrived. We mentioned this and they said the chef was different today. We ordered meat and parmigiana with the pasta at 18:50. It arrived after 1 hour and 20 minutes. It was so tasteless that we left half of it. No questions were asked about how your meal was or whether you were satisfied. Although we moved slowly as we left, no one said "goodbye" or "good evening". It had nothing to do with the first time. Unfortunately, I do not recommend it.

We went here because the reviews on Google are very positive. It is out of the way but on arriving did not get the vibe. We sat down and ordered our food. Me and my wife ordered different things off the menu. The food was tasty but my meat had gristle and my wife's clams were tiny. The meal felt very underwhelming. After our meals our plates were cleared and we waited half an hour before some came over to see if we wanted deserts. We both ordered the cheesecake( different flavours). They were not nice at all. We only ate a couple of mouthfuls. I would not recommend.

Bar Mare Donna Clelia is a historical restaurant located on the Marina di Praia beach, offering an epic view of the beach surrounded by cliffs. It's popular among locals and offers a variety of seafood dishes such as mussels, pasta with fish, and outstanding pizza. The restaurant is known for its incredible service and accommodating staff who go above and beyond to cater to guests' needs, including allergies.
We stopped here for an unplanned lunch when we disembarked at the marina on the way back from Positano. It was absolutely delightful! Such a pretty view overlooking the beach. The food and limoncello spritz was delicious and the service so friendly. At the end they gave us complimentary fruit salad, limoncello and meloncello! All unexpected but very lovely. It was so nice to spend some time here. Highly recommend.

We had a great night, dinner and drinks! The food was amazingly tasty, the negroni was spectacular! You might see many restaurants side by side, we tried them all, but this one was BY FAR the best one.

We had dinner there on 18th September. A Thursday evening where the food and service were both of amazing quality. Authentic food from a true local that built the perfect cove of hotel / bar / restaurant offerings thst make so many people feel like they belong. There is more than food and drink on offer here, there is a mans heart and soul all on display. Giovanni does it well. You wikl not be disappointed.

Donna Clelia Sea Bar and Restaurant is an absolute gem on the Amalfi Coast, delicately nestled between the dramatic rocks just off the coast of Italy, perfectly positioned between Positano and the charming village of Furore, and only a short distance from Amalfi. The location is breathtaking-imagine arriving by boat or strolling down to a secluded cove where the sea sparkles and the cliffs rise majestically around you. It’s the kind of place that feels like a hidden paradise, away from the crowds but full of authentic Italian charm. What truly sets Donna Clelia apart is the exceptional hospitality. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with the warmest, friendliest service imaginable. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and their genuine kindness is unforgettable. Snacks and treats seem to arrive at your table non-stop, each one more delicious than the last, and the flow of food and good cheer never ends. It’s clear that the team here loves what they do, and their passion for sharing the best of local cuisine and hospitality shines through in every interaction. The menu is a celebration of the sea and the region, featuring incredibly fresh seafood, homemade pastas, and classic dishes prepared with care and creativity. Every bite is a reminder of the rich culinary traditions of the Amalfi Coast. Whether you’re enjoying a leisurely lunch with your feet in the sand or a romantic dinner as the sun sets, Donna Clelia offers an experience that is both relaxed and unforgettable. I can’t recommend this place enough-if you’re anywhere near Amalfi, make sure to visit. You’ll leave with a full heart, a happy stomach, and memories to last a lifetime!

They make you feel like you are part of the family. Owners talk to everyone and welcome you. Staff is amazing and polite. The food and drinks are delicious. We came for only dessert one day and then came back the next day for dinner.

Decided to have lunch here. I disagree with people who claimed to be charged service fees. Our bill was correctly charged. Prices are high here. That is a given for this area. Everything is super expensive at this beach. I posted pictures of the menu, as the existing ones were out of date and priced wrong.

This is the pick of the surprisingly plentiful options in this tiny location (about five restaurants here). I am a little reluctant to tell the world about Marina di Praia, and Bar Mare (Donna Clelia) and risk spoiling it - but I’ll let you in on a secret…this is the jewel of the Amalfi Coast - all the benefits without the crowds. From the first time we came to this restaurant (over 10 years ago) Salvatore made us feel like family. Crayfish his friend caught, beans and chillies from his father’s garden. His family and his staff eat in the restaurant (I’d actually like a job here !!!). The staff are wonderful and friendly. The food is original - a lot of dishes are Donna Clelia’s original recipes, including the amazing bread. The menu is not extensive, just good dishes made well. Love this place, love this restaurant and the people. Will be back every time we visit Italy. Ciao Salvatore, family and staff.

Went today in a large group of 11. The owner sat us and told us about the history of the restaurant. Most of the dishes are his late mother’s recipes. His father was a sweet old man sitting on the balcony above the restaurant - he came down to give out cookies to the young children eating at the restaurant. Instead of ordering, the owner sent out large, family style dishes - his favorite mother’s recipes. Everything was outstanding. Fried seafood platter was perfectly fried and well seasoned. Zucchini spaghetti was delicious with smoked mozzarella. And my favorite was the rigatoni with fresh caught squid (he showed us the picture of the squid caught that day). Definitely give Donna Clielo a try we are so happy we did! Very affordable prices. And let the owner curate your meal if he offers too! Especially if you are a large group!

Relish Lounge Bar & Ristorante is a gem on the Almafi coast, offering high-quality food at reasonable prices. The restaurant prides itself on serving homemade dishes made with natural ingredients, some of which are even grown in-house. The cozy and authentic Italian atmosphere makes diners feel right at home, while the friendly staff adds to the welcoming ambiance. Guests can enjoy delicious meals such as meat and cheese platters, flavorful pasta dishes, and perfectly grilled seafood.
Wonderful restaurant!! My husband and I had a really nice dinner here. They fit us in at the last minute, and our server was extremely polite and kind. We got the meat and cheese platter for an appetizer, the sausage and mushroom pasta, and the grilled mixed seafood (squid, swordfish, prawns). Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Also the house white wine from Ravello was one of the best we've had on our trip. Highly recommend, would definitely go again.

Had dinner here 3 times. Very good food. Decent price for this region. Very nice and friendly people. The menu changes at 2 days. Open to cook your preference especially if you announce in advance when making the reservation. Tuesday they are closed for dinner.

Open till 2 doesn't mean they serve lunch unfortunately 🫣 so can't rate their food. Had a nice frappe to tide me over Dinner starts from 7 but we already had other plans unfortunately. Casual atmosphere Lovely view

Really lovely staff and a beautiful view but sadly we found the food a bit too simple. My cheese sauce ravioli was just a few pieces of ravioli with little to no sauce (it was also quite bitty). My husband and a friend had chicken Francesca but it was incredibly plain. Just a piece of chicken in lots of butter and a bit of lemon with some lettuce. A bit disappointing for €20+. Not even a tomato in the salad! Lovely staff but I think I’d only go there for drinks next time.

What a great find. We stayed in Furore for five days and found this little gem on the last night. On arrival the owner asked what we wanted even if not on the menu (if we can make it we will) So I asked for a lemon pasta and they made the most amazing cheese and lemon ravioli in a lemon sauce. All 4 of us raved on how it was the best pasta we had in the Furore area, then came the Karaoke then the best desert we had on our stay. Too top it all they drove is home as it started raining heavily….. Highly Recommend.

Wonderful staff. The food was great and reasonably priced. Would recommend to anyone passing through Furore. They have a nice dog that walks around and says hello to the guests. Depending on the season, it would be good to make a reservation.

From the moment we stepped through the door, this restaurant felt like a warm embrace from Italy itself. The atmosphere was charming and authentic, with soft lighting, rustic décor, and the comforting aroma of fresh herbs drifting from the kitchen. Every detail was perfect — from the attentive, genuinely kind service to the beautifully presented dishes. Each course was a masterpiece: pasta cooked to perfection, rich sauces layered with flavor, and seafood so fresh i know it was caught that morning. The wine pairing elevated every bite, and the desserts — especially the lava mouse cake — were pure bliss. It’s rare to find a place where every element of the dining experience is flawless, but this restaurant delivers just that. A true gem that deserves every bit of praise. We left full, happy, and already planning our return. The room was very clean and service was to impeccable. I want to thank the Villamena Family for their hospitality ❤️ Grazie dal profondo del mio cuore e ci vediamo presto. Amina Vargas ❤️❤️❤️

Hotel La Locanda del Fiordo in Furore offers casual rooms and suites, some with stunning sea views. The property features a cliff-side sundeck and a bar for guests to enjoy. It is known for its boutique rooms overlooking the sea near the beach of Furore, making it one of the best luxury hotels on the Amalfi Coast. Guests have praised the accommodations, lovely staff, convenient location, and nice restaurant as great value.
Lovely Family owned little hotel winding down the cliff, unique rooms with cliff rock peeping through in every room Owner Luigi and his staff did everything they possibly could to make us feel at home. All the staff were lovely. Views and location are amazing.

Great small hotel on the cliff with great view of the sea and positano. Most room have balcony. You can access the water going down the stIrs but it deep water. Good thing it offers private parking for reasonable price. Food is generally expensive along amalfi coast. Restaurant in the hotel is good. I had dinners daily when was staying there.

Fantastic view on the Amalfi Coast. Hotel staff is incredibly friendly and very helpful. Rooms have great views, but are generally small, especially the bathrooms. Overall fantastic experience. Highly recommended.

I had a fabulous stay at La Locanda for 4 nights in late May. Luigi was incredibly kind, offering to stay up late so that I could check in after my trains got delayed/cancelled during the rail worker strike. I am a young woman who was traveling solo, and I felt like the staff did an outstanding job making me feel safe and welcome. Stunning views, but do be mindful that the rooms are built into the side of the cliff and thus may be a long hike up and down stairs. I do not consider myself athletic at all, and had to take some deep breaths, but managed just fine. Large beds are 2 smaller mattresses pushed together, which seems to be standard for the region, but was unfamiliar to me. Great shower. No clothing iron/steamer. The food was fabulous, which is great as there aren’t really any other places to eat nearby without transportation, and they have great resources for anything you want to do. 10/10 would (and plan to) absolutely come back.

Luigi and his staff are all outstanding. They make you feel like part of the family. This was our second visit and we will be back again. It you want a wonderful stay on the Amalfi Coast, stay here. Easy access to bus routes and all the cities along the coast and the food is amazing

Every time I visit my parents on the Amalfi Coast, La Locanda del Fiordo is our go-to spot for lunch. We went on Tuesday and once again it was perfect. This is hands down one of the most authentic local restaurants you’ll find on the Amalfi Coast - every visit feels like coming home. We started with alici fritte and sauté di cozze - so fresh and full of flavor. For mains, we had paccheri alla pescatora, which were absolutely delicious, and then we finished with desserts. The pistachio dessert is my favorite, and honestly, it might be my favorite food ever! Everything we had was made with care and tasted incredible. The service really makes the place special. Luigi, our waiter, was attentive, friendly, and just genuinely lovely. And the owner-chef Luigi is such a humble, talented, big-hearted person - he clearly puts so much love into his food and his guests’ experience. The views are breathtaking, the kind that stop you in your track, and the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. Great food, amazing service, and that view… it’s hard to beat. Coming here every year feels like coming home. Thank you, Luigi and team, for another unforgettable meal!
Cat — Google review
This was our first time to the Amalfi coast, and I could not imagine having spent it at a better place. It is no surprise that the "locanda" loosely refers to refers to "a small, often family-run establishment that provides food and lodging," which is exactly the type of vibe you get from this place. From the moment we checked in, the owner, Luigi, was welcoming and considerate. Salvatore met us in the parking lot as pulled up and took our bags striaght inside and down to the room before we could We had just spent the better part of a day on planes, trains, and taxis to get here and he made the check-in process super simple – with a Proseco welcome! The views from the road are absolutley stunning and they only get better as you walk down to the guest rooms, which have amazing oceanfront views. You can even take the stairs all the way down to the bottom of the cliff and jump straight into the ocean! By the second day, it became clear that everyone working here loves what they do and treats every guest like family. Erica, Luigi the owner and the other Luigi, along with all the cooks and cleaning staff are always happy and accomodating. The food was out of this world and the breakfast buffet was a welcome treat for the kids every morning with made-to-order omelletes, capuccino, fresh fruit, pastries, and juices. It doesn't hurt that the air conditioning was on point since we visited during one of the hottest weeks of the year. Every day someone comes to clean the room and make the beds, leaving bottles of fresh flat and sparkling water. Everyone was always quick with advice on how to get to some of the local areas of interest and as an added convenience they even sell bus tickets at the front desk so all you have to do is walk a few hundred feet down the road and head to Amalfi or Positano. We would absolutely return here on our next trip to see all the towns we did not have to time visit. The only word of caution I would offer (which applies to just about every hotel and venue on the coast) is that there are a lot of stairs. We are all in good shape so it was actually a welcome experience to get our workout in and burn off the delicious food (the grilled octupus and mixed fish platters were outrageous) calories. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would!

Agriturismo Sant'Alfonso is a charming informal hotel located in a 17th-century farmhouse. It offers simple yet comfortable rooms, a terrace with stunning views, and complimentary breakfast. Nestled in the mountain town of Furore overlooking the Amalfi Coast, this magical oasis delights the senses with vibrant Mediterranean colors and scents. The property features vegetable gardens, vineyards, lemon groves, and flower gardens that add to its charm.
I originally gave a less favorable review, and I truly apologize to the owners. The experience really was perfect from beginning to end. The impeccable views, the beautiful decorations, the generous and welcoming staff, the comfortable, spacious rooms. It was all wonderful. And I haven't even talked about the restaurant. The hotel restaurant had the best food I have eaten in a long time. I make no exaggerations; the restaurant alone is reason enough to come for a visit, and I do not give that praise lightly. To seek a better hotel than this would be a fool's errand, as perfection already lives at Agriturismo Sant'Alfonso. P.S.: buy your necessities at one of the many mini-markets along the way up, as the hotel is at the top of a mountain and going to the shops once you arrive is a little difficult

I have to add some more to my review...5 stars doesn't do it justice. After travelling here through the small hectic roads of the coast, this oasis tucked away on the side of the mountain is a God send. I can see why the monks decided to stay here. The peace and quiet is a welcome relief. Nikola and Michele and their staff have created a positively luxurious place to stay...and treat every guest with the most welcoming spirit. It is as if we were long lost family come home. The food that they served was THE most delicious fare we had. They spoiled us every night with the excellent dinners and every morning with the plentiful breakfasts. We wanted for nothing!! The wine they served...made on the property...was delicious and enhanced every meal perfectly. (The generous pours were also appreciated. 😉) Our room was cosy and spacious enough to do morning exercises, without disturbing my partner. The view from the window was spectacular. We would highly recommend booking a stay here.

Had my wedding here and it was honestly such an amazing and beautiful day. The view is fantastic and the staff is great and took care of everything. The only downside is the many many stairs down to the venue but they do have a luggage cart so you dont need to take your luggage with you.

This place is a true gem. It has the comfort of being at home, the beauty of being in the Amalfi Coast country side, and the convenience of large hot showers and delicious food made on the property. The owners took extra steps to make sure everyone had an amazing experience.
Camille G — Google review
Just the most magical place to stay, super clean and comfortable, this family owned farm stay is a wonderful hideaway without being too remote from the action. We were there as a small group tour and all loved every minute of our stay. We used the farmhouse as a base for hiking and other activities on the coast and they accommodated our group with different meal times and a packed lunch for our bigger hike. They make their own wines and you can try these with dinner, as well as full bar service. Food was delicious and they accommodated my gluten free needs well. If you have booked to stay they will bring your big luggage down / up by goods lift, but there are 120 steps down / up for people. The setting is gorgeous, the views amazing and it was so quiet at night. Perfect base for the Path of the Gods. Miss it already!

Words cannot describe the beauty of this Agriturismo or the hospitality we received from the staff and owners here. Meals can be included and I would strongly recommend you opt in for those. Incredible farm to table meals. It is an experience that should not be overlooked. However, you need to know that this is very remote and not easily accessible to towns or attractions and will require private transfers, car, vespa or public transportation. I would stay here again but just for a few days as part of a larger Amalfi itinerary. Grazie!

Our stay at Agriturismo Sant'Alfonso was absolutely unforgettable! The views were the best I’ve ever experienced — truly breathtaking and worth every one of the 120 steps to the reception. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and equipped with excellent amenities. From start to finish, everything was perfect. A true gem on the Amalfi Coast!
