Hiking Trails
The Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO-listed landscape featuring small towns perched between mountains and the sea. A popular activity is the Classic Amalfi Coast walking tour, an 11-day journey along the Footpath of the Gods, offering unrivaled Italian coastal hiking. The self-guided walk allows exploration at a personalized pace through idyllic villages like Praiano, Positano, Sorrento, Amalfi, and Maestra dei Villaggi.
Breathtaking and unforgettable! The Amalfi Coast is truly one of the most stunning places you’ll ever see—the views are absolutely postcard-perfect at every turn. Towering cliffs, sparkling turquoise waters, and picturesque villages make this destination something straight out of a dream. I highly recommend visiting by coach if possible. The roads are incredibly narrow, winding, and steep, and while experienced drivers might manage, it’s not for the faint-hearted! If you do decide to drive, go for a small car—a big vehicle would be a real challenge on those roads. Beaches are beautiful but often require a walk down the cliffs, and some do charge for entry. It’s worth it for the experience, though! The restaurants along the coast are wonderful—laid-back, welcoming, and happy to let you enjoy your meal without rushing you, which is refreshing in such a popular tourist spot. Parking is expensive—around €10 per hour—so if you’re driving, plan to make the most of your time there. Honestly, words don’t do it justice—I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. A place you’ll never forget!

Very cool views from a boat tour. The road is very busy and filled with traffic for 4 months of the year - it was still busy in late September. Ferries are probably the better option to see everything the coast has to offer.
Brendan C — Google review
Beautiful town. We went end Sept beginning of Oct and we found it busy - I'm not sure I'd like it at the height of the season! Narrow streets with lots of lovely restaurants and gift shops. Restaurants offer similar choices of food and drink and cost is relative to quality, the average for us was about 45€ each which was 1 main meal and a drink each. Be prepared for lots of hills and stairs! Taxis are expensive but buses and ferries are a cheaper way to travel. The buses are a hair-raising ride but the scenery and views are spectacular. Tickets for the bus are bought either on the bus, some hotels & shops or the terminal. Ferry tickets can be bought online or at the port usually about 10€ but you may be charged extra for luggage. The ferry and bus timetables are pretty spot on but beware of popular times - the bus won't stop if it's full and your next bus could be up to an hour wait. The buses can cost between 1.50€ to 2.50€ depending on time of day. All stops are request stops, other than the terminal. The weather can affect the running of the ferries so always best to have a back up plan. We did a tour bus to Pompei & Herculaneum which was about 2 hours travelling but that was also picking up other people on the way.

We were looking forward to see Amalfi coast. The view from the top was spectacular. The boat was a nice experience. The town was underwhelming. Not much things to see except for church and small gift shop (approx. 10 min) It's mainly beach and view, if you want seeing the market, go to Sorrento. Highly recommend.
Mika A — Google review
We visited Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. After a white-knuckle drive along a cliff-hugging road, we were rewarded with the most spectacular scenery. Words cannot convey the absolute beauty of the Amafi Coast. So here are some pictures. Better to see it in real life!
Dan T — Google review
Arrive by sea and you can see how beautiful the coastline is. But to say its busy is an understatement. The mainstreet is wall to wall people. Narrow at times, it still has a need for cars bikes and electric carts to go up and down it. Once you manage to get further up the widens and you see the real Amalfi. Move away from this street and things become better. Still busy, but not uncontrollably. Views are fantastically pretty. Recommend turning right first off the boat and walking up the hill. Longish walk but very worth it. Do the main Street once you have taken in this view. You'll accept the masses after that. Only views from the sea included, as that would spoil it
TEE-GEE-EYE — Google review
The most beautiful drive I've ever taken with breathtaking views around every turn! The roads are narrow with tons of cars truck, motorcycles and pedestrians so if you're not an aggressive driver, this is not for you! Parking is almost impossible but if you can score a parking spot, walking around Amalfi is a delight!
Michael F — Google review
The area is quite busy and the terrain is a little hard to walk as its up a hill but it's a beautiful area. There are lots of shopping spots, lots of places to get souvenirs. My husband is still talking about how amazing the gelato was and I ate a lemon sorbet in a giant lemon and it was excellent. Highly recommend this place to see once in your lifetime

Amalfi Harbor Marina Coppola is located just a short walk from the beach in Amalfi Town. The marina offers stunning views of the sea and lush vegetation, making it a popular spot on the Amalfi Coast. Visitors can admire beautiful powered boats and sailboats, as well as fishing boats bringing in fresh catches for local restaurants. Guided by skilled mariner Giulio, the marina stands out for its tight entrance maneuvering and bustling yet energetic ambiance.
There is no place like Amalfi. It's my new favorite go-to place. There are a number of restaurants along the Harbor, all with fantastic views. And great food, and you can walk along the pier after dinner.

Exceptional Service at the Port of Amalfi – A True Maritime Masterclass If you’re sailing along the Amalfi Coast and looking for a safe, reliable, and highly professional port experience, look no further than Amalfi Port – and more specifically, the outstanding services of Giulio Coppola. From the moment we approached, Giulio was already in action. He came out directly to meet our boat, expertly guiding us into position with an impressive level of precision that you rarely find nowadays. The manoeuvre was flawless — like watching a seasoned maestro at work. He didn’t just assist; he took control with calm, confident authority and made a potentially tricky mooring look effortless. This kind of hands-on, on-the-water service is increasingly rare. Giulio’s approach isn’t just helpful — it’s absolutely first-class. He clearly knows every current, wind shift and centimetre of that port like the back of his hand. It’s no exaggeration to say this is someone who’s spent a lifetime mastering the sea. Beyond his technical skill, Giulio is also courteous, responsive, and fully focused on making sure your experience in Amalfi begins with the kind of welcome you’d expect from a top-tier marina. It’s the kind of service that makes a difference — especially when arriving in a tight, often busy port. To sum it up: ✅ Incredible docking precision ✅ Hands-on assistance right from your arrival ✅ True professionalism and local expertise ✅ One of the best mooring experiences we’ve ever had Highly recommended for anyone arriving by sea in Amalfi. Thank you, Giulio – you set the standard.

This place is amazing. Definetely worth vising. Some of the most amazing views. Parking is pretty expensive, but it's worth it. You can also rent a boat for 3 hours for a hefty price

Main city of Amalfi coast, The Amalfi. Vibrant little town on mountain, surrounded with the Mediterranean sea. Beautiful, scenic place. You can reach here by road and by boat. Mountainous roads so obviously very tight, driving requires special skills of course. During high seasons traffic jam is so very common all day long so it could take a long to very long time some times. Ferry service would be much faster but then you won't be able to enjoy other small beautiful towns along the way from Sorrento to here, like Positano. We were here during start of the tourist season, 1st week of April even then the town was very crowded, lots of people. Can't even imagine what would be the scene during peak of the season in July - August.

Great place for a day trip. View, atmosphere, history, shopping, boat rides and food. Must visit place in Southern Italy. Affordable parking at Marina and everything in walkable distance.

The most beautiful well cared for marina. The powered boats and sailboats are beautiful. Rigging stands tall on 35ft masts and the vessels are super clean and well maintained. Fishing boats still being used to bring in the daily catch and charters for tourists seeking a fresh fish catch. The Tyrrhenian Sea holds some of the widest varieties of seafood over ever seen. Supplying privately and to restaurants throughout the Amalfi Coast.

This place is something amazing. Enter by boat or on a cliff side road built by the Romans with exhilarating twists and turns. See all the houses built into the sides of the mountains. Prestine water, tropical trees. This place is luxury with fine dining, accommodation and views.

Cathedral of St Andrew Apostle

Churches & Cathedrals
The Cathedral of St. Andrew Apostle, also known as the Cathedral of Amalfi, is a historic church located in the town of Amalfi in Campania, Italy. Originally built in the 10th century and later expanded into a grand Roman church with multiple porches and halls, it has undergone several renovations over the centuries. The entrance features a bronze gate from Constantinople and golden mosaics depicting Moorish life.
The Cathedral of St. Andrew the Apostle is strikingly beautiful and sits right at the center of Amalfi’s main piazza. You’ll enter by climbing a dramatic grand staircase, which makes the whole experience feel even more impressive. Inside, the cathedral features stunning marble throughout and intricately detailed painted mural ceilings. The crypt, which holds the relics of St. Andrew, is a peaceful space still used for prayer, adding to the spiritual depth of the visit. Just off the main cathedral is the Cloister of Paradise, a quiet and beautiful courtyard surrounded by elegant columns and arches. There’s also a small museum on-site with religious artifacts, including a display case said to hold a thorn from the crown of Jesus during the crucifixion. Whether you're visiting for the history, architecture, or spiritual connection, the cathedral leaves a lasting impression.
Casey P — Google review
St. Andrew’s Cathedral stands as the magnificent centerpiece of Amalfi’s main square, serving as the town’s spiritual heart. The cathedral’s stunning architecture and sacred atmosphere create an unforgettable experience, particularly the rare opportunity to venerate a relic of St. Andrew, Christ’s first disciple. The adjoining museum and ancient crypt are equally impressive, offering rich historical insights. The staff welcomes visitors with genuine warmth and helpfulness. For English-speaking visitors: the cathedral offers Sunday evening Mass in English at 6 PM during summer months. While intimate in size, this service provides a meaningful opportunity for international visitors to fully participate in worship after attending Italian-language services elsewhere. St. Andrew’s Cathedral exemplifies Christian hospitality, graciously accommodating both pilgrims and tourists with a spirit that truly reflects its sacred mission.

Visiting the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Amalfi was one of the most impressive experiences of my trip. The church is truly breathtaking, both inside and out. The grand staircase leading up to the entrance, the beautifully detailed façade, and the striking blend of architectural styles make it a masterpiece that immediately captures your attention. Inside, the atmosphere is equally captivating—peaceful, spiritual, and filled with artistic details that reflect centuries of history. Every corner seems to tell a story, and the craftsmanship is nothing short of extraordinary. I would recommend this place without hesitation to anyone visiting Amalfi. It is not only a landmark but also an unforgettable cultural and spiritual experience that should not be missed.
Alexandru M — Google review
Must see cathedral with incredible history and architecture spanning 4 different styles, Romanesque, Arab-Norman, Baroque, and Gothic. The church has been rebuilt and added to so many times, making it a really unique piece of history and a snapshot of the culture of the time of construction. Of note obviously is the supposed remains of Saint Andrew who is said to be interred in a crypt from the 1200’s. Not to be outdone by any of the other strange and amazing claims by European Catholic Churches, it is said that manna forms on the sarcophagus and collected from the saints bones, so that’s something. All weirdness aside, the artwork, craftsmanship, and ornate structures inside and out are so worth the price of admission.
Guineviere C — Google review
The Cathedral of St Andrew in Amalfi is a beautiful medieval church incorporating various architectural styles and dominating the central piazza of Amalfi. When we visited there was a service taking place so we contented ourdelves with the beautiful facade and the historic area around the cathedral. Parking in Amalfi was surprisingly easy since the town has a huge underground car park hollowed out of a hill which certainly saves trying to find street parking.
Bernard S — Google review
The Cathedral of St Andrew in Amalfi is worth every sweaty step up those stairs, think of it as your cardio session before the spiritual experience. The place is stunning, grand enough to make you forget your aching calves. Inside, it’s peaceful, beautiful, and full of history. Outside, it’s pure Italian drama, bells ringing, tourists posing, and pigeons doing whatever pigeons do best. A perfect mix of holiness and chaos. Highly recommend, but maybe skip leg day before visiting.
Joe ( — Google review
The Cattedrale di Sant’Andrea in Amalfi is one of the town’s most beautiful landmarks and absolutely worth a visit. The exterior is stunning, with its impressive staircase and striking façade that immediately catches your eye as you arrive in the main square. Inside, the church is just as remarkable, with ornate details and a peaceful yet solemn atmosphere. It’s also an important religious site as it houses the relics of Saint Andrew. There is usually a lot of people, so expect crowds, especially during the day, but it is still an unmissable stop if you are in Amalfi.
Rob — Google review
The Cathedral of St Andrew Apostle is one of the most beautiful landmarks I’ve visited. Its striking black-and-white striped façade and grand staircase create an unforgettable first impression. Climbing the steps gives you a sense of anticipation, and when you finally stand in front of the entrance, the intricate details of the architecture truly stand out. Inside, the cathedral is just as impressive. The combination of rich mosaics, marble columns, and golden details creates an atmosphere of both grandeur and peace. Light streaming through the windows adds to the beauty, highlighting the craftsmanship in every corner. I visited on a weekday and only waited about 10 minutes to enter, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable. The location in the heart of Amalfi adds to the charm, as you can explore the surrounding streets and enjoy a coffee or gelato after your visit. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a breathtaking spot to appreciate, this cathedral is a must-see. It’s a place where you can slow down, take in the beauty, and feel connected to centuries of tradition and faith.

Pasticceria Pansa in Amalfi is a historic pastry shop and cafe that has been delighting visitors since 1830. This family-owned establishment, founded by Andrea Pansa, boasts five generations of proud leadership and was recognized as a historic landmark in 2001. The interior still retains its 19th-century decor and has welcomed storied clientele over the years.
An absolute gem in the heart of Amalfi! The pastries are exceptional – especially the lemon delights and sfogliatella, full of authentic flavor and beautifully presented. The historic atmosphere and location right next to the Duomo make it even more special. Service was friendly and efficient, even though it was busy. Yes, it’s a little pricey, but worth every cent for the quality and experience. A must-visit if you’re in Amalfi

A nice place in the center of Amalfi! The pastries are very good, especially the lemon ones. The old-town atmosphere and being next to the Duomo make it special. The staff were friendly and fast, even when busy. It is a bit expensive, for two people it was about €30, but the food and experience are worth it. A must-visit in Amalfi.
Aiden Z — Google review
We absolutely loved the sfogliatella and delizia al limone here! The shop offers two options: one price for takeout and another if you sit outside for table service. When we visited, there was a live music show on the cathedral steps, so we grabbed our desserts to go and enjoyed them there. Both pastries were incredibly delicious, creamy, soft, and full of authentic Amalfi flavor. Now that we’re back in the United States, we find ourselves craving them all the time!
Akshat B — Google review
The place is quite busy, however the staff was very kind and friendly. The service is quick. They had many types of pastries and nice coffee, all ranged between 5-10€. We tried their tiramisu and croissant with some sort of bavarian cream. Both were very tasty. There aren't many places to sit, but the place is located right in the centre of Amalfi, in very close proximity to the bus station and the port.
Mariya V — Google review
Perhaps the best seat (and certainly the hardest to acquire) in Piazza Duomo....so worth it! Almost too many choices of the most scrumptious sweet & savory pastries, not to mention coffees, teas, beers, wines and cocktails. If no outside tables available, go inside - order/pay then take your treasures out to the square to enjoy the Fontana di Sant’Andrea, the Cathedral of St Andrew and the beauty and diversity of your fellow tourists and locals in a storybook setting!!!

I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. As Chinese customers, we immediately felt discriminated against by the way the waiter treated us. I wasn’t feeling well that day, so while my friends were leaving, I decided to stay a little longer and simply ordered a hot tea. The waiter noticed this and, without explanation, insisted that I change my seat with another guest. Both I and the other guest were comfortable where we were, and he clearly didn’t want to move either. Despite this, the waiter pressured us to switch tables, speaking to him in a way that left us no choice. The entire arrangement was extremely uncomfortable. Instead of treating us with basic respect as paying customers, the staff made us feel unwelcome and even pushed us to leave. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and left a very negative impression of the restaurant. The waiter is the person here in pic 2. She is super ra🌝ci .st

The Paper Museum, also known as Museo della Carta, is a charming museum located in Amalfi that offers a fascinating journey into the history and production of paper. Housed in a historic stone mill, the museum showcases original instruments dating back to the 13th century and provides insight into the city's industrial past linked to paper and foils production. Visitors can explore exhibits featuring printing presses, wooden mallets, manuscripts from the Middle Ages, and even witness demonstrations of ancient machines.
The Amalfi Medieval Paper Museum offers a great guided walk-through of the region’s rich papermaking history. You’ll learn about how handmade paper was produced using cotton and water-powered machinery, some of which still operates today. The museum’s paper has even been said to be used by the Vatican and the Pope, adding to its historical charm. One of the highlights is getting to try your hand at making a sheet of paper yourself, an authentic and hands-on experience.

An unplanned visit turned into a fascinating tour and demonstration the centuries old paper making process. The huge old machines are still running and they turn them on (water powered) it's incredible! The gift shop is great and had perfect reasonable traditional paper souvenirs and the staff were attentive, knowledgeable and kind.

Extraordinary experience right off the hustle of Amalfi main tourist streets. Just walk another 5 minutes away from the last shops and you'll find this hidden gem. The guide took us on the historical tour of paper manufacturing in Amalfi region with life demonstration of some of the old machinery and hands on experience. The ticket is 7 euro per person and time to spend is about an hour, depending on the tour schedule. Recommend having a guided tour for a better experience.

Worth the walking up the hill to visit this museum. You learn a lot in a little amount of time and you can make your own paper with them! The gift shop also has great gifts for those that love to write whether it’s a journal or post cards!

A charming step back in time! An excellent little trip into history, when paper was made from unwanted clothing! This lovely, interactive museum offers a brief but fascinating look into the origins of papermaking. For a reasonable fee, you’ll travel back through the centuries and discover several working papermaking machines from different eras — all powered by good old H2O. The guided tour is just the right length — not too short, not too long — and you even get to make your own sheet of paper à l’ancienne! Perfect for taking some stunning photos in picturesque Amalfi, Italy. Don’t miss the gift shop, filled with beautiful, high-quality products you can treat yourself with — or bring home for someone special. Highly recommended! Big thanks to our amazing guide, and best wishes to the whole team.

This is a little gem of a shop you must visit if you are in Amalfi! They will give you a tour of the paper making process of old in their very old shop. Was very interesting, quick tour. They are tucked away up high on the main street, but worth the walk up away from the crowds.

A truly authentic experience in Amalfi – thanks to Elisabetta! Today we had a tour of the Paper Museum with Elisabetta as our guide, and it was truly special. Although the tour is short, it’s full of history, interesting facts, and interactive moments. Elisabetta was fantastic: clear, friendly and engaging. She’s a dynamic guide who showed us how the old machines worked and even let us try making paper ourselves- such a unique and hands-on experience! Villa Cimbrone Gardens, located in Ravello, is a former farmhouse transformed into a luxurious palace and now a popular attraction. The gardens surrounding the villa are well-known for their rich landscaping and stunning views over cliffs and the Gulf of Salerno. The Terrace of the Infinite offers breathtaking panoramas of the coast and nearby villages. I loved visiting Villa Cimbrone Gardens. The weather was also bright and sunny and it really made everything look fresh and romantic. It’s a beautiful garden with breathtaking views of the Amalfi coast. Entrance is priced at 10€, which is definitely expensive, but still worth it in my eyes. There’s lots to see around the garden, and definitely make sure you also check out Villa Rufolo, which also has great views of the coast at the slightly cheaper price of 8€. Do be advised that it can get very sunny and hot midday.

To get here, we had to park our car quite far away and walk for 15–20 minutes, which left us drenched in sweat. The entrance fee of €10 felt overpriced to me, especially since they also charged €7 for our 5-year-old child, even though the place isn't really aimed at children. Other than that, it’s a beautiful garden with a great view. However, the sunlight angle wasn’t ideal for taking photos.

This is a lovely restaurant with a view tucked away on the quieter part of the Amalfi Port which is very peaceful and picturesque. Very well priced pizza and house wine which we really enjoyed. We booked a table but you could have walked in, and the service was great. Would recommend this lovely place!

The food at Lo Smeraldino is absolutely amazing. The seafood is so fresh, and you really shouldn’t order anything else. We were seated at a gorgeous outside table right on the water and the views of Amalfi were insane. If you love seafood, we recommend the Amalfi appetizer which is a delicious mix of fresh raw and cooked seafood. I am leaving 4 stars because the service was not up to the standards that we’ve experienced in the rest of Italy, and the pasta lacked flavour. Still though, highly recommend if you are in Amalfi and want to get a bit further away from the crowds for a delicious meal

Couldn't ask for a better view. Oven roasted pizza was awesome! Not the most attentive wait staff but they did their job. Would return! Had to add the coke because it looks so refreshing! Lol

We really enjoyed the meals. They were perfect!!! I ordered napolitan; it was the best pizza I have ever had! My hubby ordered scialatielli with seafood, it was beyond delicious! 😍 We really loved this place

Food was just okay and prices were too high for the quality. The staff weren’t very attentive, we had to call them several times for small things. The location right by the sea is great though—it really saves the experience.

This is my second time having lunch at this restaurant. The taste never disappoints. This restaurant also offers variety of seafood selection as well as seafood pastas. As a Muslim myself, definitely a no problem.

for food: 8/10 the best mussels i’ve ever had. In fact I came back 2 times for them. the clam pasta - perfection. clams were so fresh and tasty. We also ordered fried shrimp - calamar plate and grilled fish plate. definitely not bad but not as good as pasta and mussels. so %100 you should try the mussels. recommend ✨

Ristorante Il Chiostro is a charming restaurant located in a quiet corner of Amalfi, just up the stairs and to the left of the church. Whether you choose to dine inside their small, cozy space or outside along the alley, you're in for a treat. The menu offers delightful options such as Scialatielli with Cetarese and Taglionini with Shrimp, both highly recommended by previous visitors.
We had lunch here twice during our stay. The portion sizes are generous, we just had appetizers one day and they were enough. The food was fresh and tasty. It’s just off the main squares with tables in an alley which gave a welcome respite from the heat and sun.. staff were welcoming and friendly.

Nice outdoor setting, tucked away from the main busy thoroughfare and in a little alleyway, so you don't have lots of people walking past all the time. Although you will get the occasional local coming through. I ordered the octopus starter which was delicious. For my main course, I ordered the lasagna, which was unfortunately disappointing. The lasagna had a lot of liquid in it, and A LOT of cheese. Some people might enjoy that, but it personally wasn't for me. The layers of pasta and meat in the lasagna completely disappeared, and it sort of turned into this thick cheesy consistency. Every single mouthful I took felt like it was filled with stretchy cheese, and it made it hard to get my fork or knife through it to scoop up anything else in the lasagna dish. I'm sure their other dishes may have been better, but unfortunately the lasagna was a miss for me.

I’m so glad I found this hidden gem right next to the church! Not crowded, shaded & insane homemade pasta! I asked for the chefs special & was not disappointed 🤤 I also appreciated the bread/olive oil/balsamic & excellent service! Highly recommend to anyone just getting off a boat or staying in this area!

Visiting from LA, came here because of good reviews and ordered some drinks, the octopus and bruschetta appetizers, scallops, and the scampi linguine. Everything was delicious and the service & location were great, not very crowded. Would recommend 👌👌

We happened upon this lovely, out of the way place and were so glad we did. We sat outside in the breeze of the shaded walkway away from all the crowds below. The food was outstanding and presented well.

I ate here twice- do not get cuppo on the street, get fried mixed seafood from here. Incomparable quality to the cuppo. My favorite was the anchovy pasta. I would be dreaming about the dish in my sleep.

Restaurant
Sant'Andrea, also known as St. Andrew's Cathedral, is a historic landmark with origins dating back to the 10th century. Its exterior is often likened to a humbug sweet due to its distinctive black and white striped archways and intricate mosaic work. The cathedral has undergone several reconstructions over the years, with its current appearance reflecting an Arabic-Norman style from the 19th century.
The best seafood pasta I had and I had plenty of them :) We luckily got a table for two, because it was the last one and a queue of waiting people formed. The food was incredibly delicious and the view on the terrace at the piazza duomo is really lovely. Apart if that all dishes we ate were on point and worth it to try. Fully recommended from my side :)

We went to have dinner to this warm place, we had spaghetti bolognaise, also pizza Sant’Andrea and we found the food quite tasty and yummy. The service was great, food was served very fast and the staff were friendly and kind to everyone. I highly recommend this place if you want to try good food with affordable prices and great service. Thank you, we will be back soon❤️.

Gluten free pasta and pizza safe for celiacs. Fast service, kind staff, good prices and great food (with gluten free bread as “coperto”). I highly recommend!
Natalia — Google review
My boyfriend and I came here to eat and wanted to share one pizza. We didn’t want drinks or anything else; just a pizza. After placing the pizza order the waiter asked what else and we said nothing and he said that wasn’t possible and we had to order something else. We went back forth on this. Keep in my you’re already paying the “coperto” cover charge of 3€ per person. So for one pizza we are paying an extra 6€ to sit there and eat it and that still wasn’t good enough. This is a ridiculous “rule” they decided to make up. The waiters attitude was also very rude and he ripped the ticket up as he walked away. They’d rather have no business than sell a pizza. Keep in mind this is was at the end of the season, with maybe 3 other tables occupied. There are better places with much better service. Don’t waste your time or money.

Marina Grande is a renowned beachfront restaurant in Amalfi, offering traditional seafood dishes and a lounge bar with terrace seating. The area is the historic heart of the Amalfi Coast, attracting many visitors due to its central location and beautiful setting. During summer, Marina Grande beach becomes vibrant with colorful umbrellas and lively scenes. The pebbly beach offers stunning turquoise waters turning into deep blue hues.
Great location and views! Great service! And the restaurant is very clean! The staff is very friendly! The place is a bit pricey but worth the price, since everything was pomade to perfection! 95% of all the pasta dishes are with seafood, and they all taste delicious! I would recommend!

Loved all experience. I took chefs tasting menu and it lasted for 2 hours. Everything was great besides that server’s look when I tipped 10 euro. The total bill was 155$. If you expect for a guest to tip more, you just have to add it to the guest’s notice in menu or somewhere. Since in Italy all tips are not expected and are optional. How I suppose to know how much I had to tip? In the USA there is a certain percentage that a guest has to tip, because server’s salary there is 2-2.50$/hour, so it’s not like here and I’m sure not like at Michelin star restaurant pay. Good luck

What is a Michelin Guide restaurant? Is it a lifestyle? A sticker on the door? Or just an imaginary rating standard? If it’s the latter, do we automatically start with 3–4 out of 5 points, or, on the contrary, do we judge with extra attention to detail? Let’s try to be rational, fair, and most importantly, sometimes rely on our own feelings. To begin with—yes, I recommend this restaurant. There were three of us. Normally, you need a reservation here, but even though we didn’t have one, and even though we arrived almost at closing time, they still kindly found us a table. Every dish was delicious. Yes, yes, I know—a Michelin Guide restaurant that knows how to cook pasta. Shocking, right? You may ask—why come here? After all, you can get tasty pasta at a nearby place for two or even three times cheaper. So what’s the difference? Here, every dish is a carefully designed creation. A painted composition. Every ingredient and spice complements the dish and creates a swirl of flavors, turning into something new. Something unique. Food: 5/5 The restaurant sits right by the sea, with fresh flowers on each table and a warm, subtle glow of light that allows the sunset to take center stage. Atmosphere: 5/5 The service was flawless—elegant table settings, prompt serving, genuinely attentive staff, and above all, a feeling of effortless comfort. They even let us carefully choose from all the teas available. Overall service: 5/5 Of course, you can find elements of this elsewhere, but rarely brought to such perfection. If you still don’t understand what a Michelin Guide restaurant really is—come here and see for yourself. P.S. We came straight after swimming at the beach, so I left the cushion on my seat wet. Sorry for not mentioning it at the time!

Our group of 4 walked into Marina Grande around 2030, without a reservation expecting to get turned away. But they gladly sat us right away. The service was excellent and the decor/plating was beautiful. We all got the tasting menu and it was reasonably priced for the amount of plates we got. Food was presented beautifully, and tasted just as good. Our wait staff was prompt, caring, and spoke about each dish, and why they loved it. Gave hints on what to look for in the flavors, and recommended wine pairings. Great start to our trip along the Amalfi coast!

Phenomenal, by the Marina. Found this place on Michelin website. The food was outstanding from the lobster pasta, the calamari was also very good, the octopus, and down to the dessert. Plus, the location is also close to the centre where all the life in Amalfi is. This place is highly recommended. There’s also a good wine list to pair.

Marina Grande is an absolute gem in Naples! We dined here twice during our trip, and it was nothing short of spectacular each time. Our cooking experience chef highly recommended it as the place to eat, and we couldn’t agree more. Last night, we opted for a simple yet divine meal: the Tortello with beef shin and black truffles, paired perfectly with a crisp Ferrari Brut sparkling wine. Every bite was a delight, bursting with flavor and showcasing the finest ingredients. The service was equally impressive—attentive, warm, and professional, making us feel right at home. Marina Grande is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience in Naples. We’ll be back!

We went to another birthday dinner and ordered the chef’s tasting menu. The food was interesting — by the third course I was already full, and after that we just tasted the dishes, which maybe upset the staff 😁 but we simply couldn’t eat more. I can’t say I experienced any “wow” flavors, but it was still interesting to visit a place that so many celebrities have been to. The staff seemed a bit dismissive — kind of like in a luxury boutique. Maybe it’s part of the image. Overall, solid 4 out of 5.
Shukran H — Google review
The prices don’t match the quality of the food. A supposed to be Michelin restaurant where the prices are certainly up to the Michelin standard, but i don’t understand how did they get the star for the food. Although the food was fresh & of high quality there was no unique taste, texture nor creativity. It was not bad food, but an average food that doesn’t not match its price and especially not the Michelin standard. On top of that one of the Servers asked us for tips, which ket us think they do the nice service for the tips and not the experience, then we said that the food wasn’t as expected so we didn’t feel like leaving tips for it, yet nobody came to ask why weren’t we satisfied. Something that a Michelin restaurant should do. UPDATE: Dear Marina Grande Team, thanks for your reply. As i said nobody asked us how is the food, and my review is not a 1 star review, but an honest 3 star review to what my experience was, you can change a dish but you can’t change the way you cook, so for my experience this was not up to the value. We were 2 individuals and therefore 2 separate reviews, we do not share 1 account but each of us felt to give an honest review of what should people like us expect. I still rate the Service with 4 stars and asking for tips did not affect the review that much, it was just the cherry on the cake, but i gave 4 stars for the Service because nobody asked how is the food, which in a Michelin restaurant is expected in 1-2 minutes after the food is served or after the first few bites.

Day 2

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Villa Rufolo, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Taverna degli Apostoli. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Villa Rufolo is a 13th-century villa with Moorish influences, renowned for its stunning cascading gardens and terraces that offer breathtaking views of the sea. Over the years, it has become a significant tourist attraction, especially after hosting the first editions of Wagner's Concerts in its gardens. The Villa's international reputation grew further when it was acquired by the Provincial Tourist Board of Salerno and opened to the public.
This town has become know as the city of music. My wife and I went to Villa Rufolo and it was so beautiful. The flowers looked like something that came out of a movie. The exhibits were all nice and historical. If you are ever in Ravello you must check out Villa Rufolo.

The gardens are amazing, and the views especially overlooking the Mediterranean. The actual ruffolo palace left much to be desired; there was an art exhibit up that left me confused. But I would highly recommend visiting while in Ravello. Take the bus up (don’t walk).

One of the most beauiful places ive been to. Up above the Amalfi Coast with outstanding views this small town has it all. The gardens are spectacular and we were lucky enough to have room to move having visited off season in March. The skies cleared and the only word for it is Wow. In my opinion it leaves the coast for dead, a lot quieter and a lot to see and do. Cafes are great and our hotel Lolanda was amazing. I cant stress how important it is to take a little time and go off the beaten track up to this place. Visit all the gardens at the top and you wont be disappointed.

Must visit, but try earlier than in the evening, as the sun goes away from 4 pm in October. Sunsets are amazing though. And in October there are not so many flowers and colors like in summer pictures, but still nice. The house is unfortunately empty, and there’s not much to do.

Villa Rufolo was such a hidden gem here in Ravello. Really enjoyed the small room showing the videos and giving some history of the place which helped color a beautiful picture of music, history, and brilliant views. I highly recommend making a stop here if you are visiting Ravello. My best advice, take a scooter to the top of this hill instead of this bulky busses, you’ll be happy you did!

Main garden closed should be told when buying ticket, misleading. Gardeners walking around with cigarettes in the month just yapping. Supposed to be a peaceful place but just felt weird there. End of the season is coming so I understand but should have mentioned the main garden they use in all the pictures is closed and covered by a concert layout… not worth €7 entree for that… but beautiful views that are normal in Ravello.

Villa Cimbrone is an elegant hilltop lodging located in a medieval manor offering luxurious rooms, fine dining, and a pool. The hotel features nineteen suites set in large gardens, each uniquely decorated with stunning coastal views, fireplaces, marble floors, and frescoed ceilings. Guests can enjoy exquisite meals prepared by a Michelin star chef at the onsite restaurant and relax by the swimming pool in the central courtyard.
This is one of my favourite hotels in the world. Sitting on top of a mountain, with stunning views of both the sea and other mountains for miles on end. Pictures don't do it justice, it has to be seen with your own eyes to be truly appreciated. Just be prepared for a short 10 minute hike with stairs to reach the hotel, since there are no direct roads accessible, but your luggage will be taken care of by the hotel porters. The walk to the hotel is a refreshing experience itself, giving you a taste of the Ravello mountain life! The staff were all polite and professional, catering to our every need. We went for our wedding anniversary, and the staff accommodated us at every moment, even opening up their helipad for our pickup during departure. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful escape far away from noise and people!

I was hoping to visit la Rondinaia in Ravello but, as this is not possible, visited Villa Cimbrone instead. Yes, the entry fee of 10euros per person was rather stiff and yes the lady at the ticket counter made being rude a matter of principal, her calling. We are but vulgar tourists to be tolerated if we are lucky. That being said, everybody else was thoroughly charming and wonderful. The gardens are stunningly beautiful and manicured beyond belief. It is a huge pleasure to wander through and the views are breath-taking. Just like the rest of the Amalfi coast, just more so. We came across the villa restaurant (not the Michelin star one) by chance and had the most wonderful meal of our stay in Italy! The food was amazing, the service impeccable and the view I have already written about. My wife and I can't wait to go back!

Going to the city Amalfi brings you close to Ravello. When you bring a car, make the trip to Ravello. Parking is a small disaster. Stroll thought the village centre which has a nice sqaure and walk in about 10 minutes to Villa Cimbrone. Youo nly need to visit the garden. There is a beautiful view over de Amalfi coast on a terrace called Terrazza dell'Infinito. In the garden is a small bar with the famous balcony. Enjoy.

Villa Cimbrone has a fascinating history that blends old-world charm with modern appeal. Its first records date back to the 11th century, during Ravello’s golden era, when it was owned by noble families such as the Acconciajoco and later the Fusco. However, over time, the villa fell into disrepair and became a ruin. In 1904, Ernest William Beckett, later known as Lord Grimthorpe, discovered the property. A wealthy and eccentric Englishman, he fell in love with Villa Cimbrone and decided to restore it. Collaborating with local builder Nicola Mansi, he rebuilt the villa in a mix of Moorish, Venetian, and Gothic styles, incorporating elements from across Italy. This restoration led to the beautiful, almost dreamlike villa we see today. During Beckett's ownership, Villa Cimbrone became a retreat for many notable writers, artists, and thinkers, including Virginia Woolf, E.M. Forster, Winston Churchill, and Greta Garbo. Today, the Vuilleumier family owns the villa. They have preserved its historic beauty and transformed it into a charming hotel, renowned for its stunning Terrace of Infinity and serene gardens. Although we did not stay at the hotel and cannot comment on its services, the gardens are open to visitors who wish to explore the beautiful scenery. We enjoyed a leisurely hour-long walk around the property, which also features a café for all visitors.
Afshin A — Google review
Simply an unparalleled, life-affirming experience! The Terrace of Infinity offers the best sea + nature view I have ever witnessed anywhere in the world. It is truly an experience that words fail to capture. The entire villa grounds and park are stunning and perfectly maintained, making the whole visit an absolute must-do! and as a bonus, its a starting point for the most scenic down-hikes to Atrani (lots of stairs though)

Absolutely unbelievable!! One of the most excellent places on the planet!! The story behind the establishment of this villa is unbearably romantic and that energy permeates the entire estate. There are places to eat at both ends of the gardens, which is great because we really did work up an appetite while strolling the gardens. We spent around 5 hours wandering through the gardens and many rooms, crypts and galleries. Really well worth the visit!!

Valle delle Ferriere

4.7
(653)
National park
Valle delle Ferriere is a deep valley on the Amalfi coast, offering a unique break from the beaches. The trail starts in Pontone and ends in Amalfi, passing by ruins of medieval foundries and water mills that once powered the town's paper-making industry. This nature reserve provides a quiet escape from the bustling world, with two different routes available for hikers to explore.
We did the tour mid March, starting from Pontone. There is parking along the street which is cheap in the off-season from December till March. In the summer it's probably hard to get a spot here. The hard parts of this route is the track from Amalfi to Pontone (1000 steps) and from Amalfi to the nature reserve (probably the nicer walk alongside the stream). We skipped those and went from Pontone straight to the nature reserve (45 minutes to the sign at the ruins, then 30 minutes to the reserve). Unfortunately the reserve was closed. Maybe it's only open at the weekend in the off-season. If you follow the stream to the fence you can see the small waterfall anyway. We really enjoyed the tour. It was quiet and peaceful and the nature was beautiful.

A must visit!!! 45 minutes hike away from Amalfi, the place is a time forgotten, intact, simply beautiful, and breathtaking. Tingly recommended.
Alexander L — Google review
We started the Valle delle Ferriere hike right after arriving in Amalfi and it was such a great way to kick things off. If you’re looking to get away from the busy town and enjoy some peace, nature, and amazing views, we totally recommend it. At one point we reached the Natura 2000 reserve, where there’s a small €5 entrance fee per person. After seeing some beautiful views, we continued toward Pontone and eventually made our way back to Amalfi. The hike was a bit tiring in places, but honestly, the scenery made it 100% worth it. A beautiful trail and a great adventure overall!

A paradise in this valley - very comfortable stay. The climb is worth it, plus the steps help you digest all the yummy food the area has to offer. Breakfast was such a treat, the attention to detail was incredible. Gino was so helpful and kind. It’s a calm place very close to the busy city center, it’s peaceful.

Very beautiful walk. We started from Pontone and walked to Scala. The waterfalls were not too spectacular (you have to pay at some point to continue to the other waterfall which we didn't do) but the views were! Mostly the second part, close to Scala. We got lost at some point, probably around where the land slide must have been two years ago, but eventually we arrived back on the road. Some parts are very narrow close to the cliffs, so always careful!
Louise L — Google review
Amalfi Secret Eden Tucked behind the bustling streets of Amalfi lies a sanctuary that feels worlds away, Valle delle Ferriere. This lush, misty valley is a haven for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and anyone craving a quieter, more contemplative escape from the coast. The trail begins just above Amalfi and winds gently through lemon groves, ancient aqueducts, and moss-covered ruins. As you ascend, the air cools and the soundscape shifts birdsong, trickling streams, and the occasional rustle of leaves replace the hum of scooters and chatter below. The path is well-marked and moderately easy, making it suitable for most walkers. What makes this valley truly special is its layered history. Once the heart of Amalfi's ironworks and paper mills, the remnants of these industries now sit quietly among ferns and waterfalls, slowly reclaimed by nature. The restricted reserve area, accessible for a small fee, reveals rare botanical species and a microclimate so unique it shelters plants found nowhere else in Europe. Whether you're drawn by the ecological richness, the historical intrigue, or simply the serenity, Valle delle Ferriere delivers a kind of magic that's hard to find along the more tourist-trodden paths. It's not just a hike it's a gentle immersion into a quieter rhythm of the Amalfi Coast.

Valle delle Ferriere is a nature reserve. It is a beautiful quiet place to get away from this loud world. This trail is not easy. You have to take 11km or more (it depending on the route) You can take at least two different route from Amalfi and Pontone. The trail is natural, it starts in the residential area at the end of the city then goes uphill in the forest. There is a point where the mountain collapsed. Don't panic, just climb through it, after that the trail is good again. If you run out of water, there is a tap by the road near the water that comes with drinkable water. You can visit along the way the ruins of an iron factory and a paper factory, not to mention the small and large waterfalls along the way. At the and of the trail is the great waterfall, 20m high. You have to pay 5EUR fee to watch it but I think it is worth it. I recommend to bring some sandwiches and some drink and wear a proper hiking boots.

This is a stunningly beautiful, not too difficult walk ending in a magical, otherworldly feeling waterfall. We did this walk in late October when it was not too hot and almost no one else around. I would NOT do this in the summer because of the heat.

Torre dello Ziro, also known as the Ziro Tower, is a historic watchtower dating back to the 15th century. Originally built as a fortress to defend against pirate invasions along the Amalfi Coast, it now stands as a popular tourist attraction offering stunning panoramic views of the coastline. Perched on Mount Aureo, this ancient stone structure provides an ideal vantage point for admiring the beauty of the Gulf of Salerno and witnessing breathtaking sunsets during clear summer evenings.
So about google maps - yes, don't follow it. I'm putting a screenshot of komoot, a hiking app, leading to a great view up there, from which you can follow the signs and get to Torre. Once you're out of the city and on the stairs - follow the white-red markings and the road. It's an easy hike, but tiresome for there are a LOT of stairs. Still need to be in a good condition. As for the torre itself, I can't recommend going up. I did, yes, but stepped very carefully. I don't think this door is supposed to be open. The place needs some tightening, it seems it will collapse any second. The views are great even without going up the tower. I also recommend Belvedere, the view is even better, as it's higher. Visited in March, very pleasant. Not sure if google will keep them chronological in order though, but I hope you'll get some idea. Happy exploring!

As already mentioned by other's, do not follow Google maps for directions as it will take you to a completely different site. Love to go to the Torre dello Ziro, I grew up in the area and tend to walk up to it at every visit to Amalfi. I walk from Amalfi side, up to Pontone, with an obligatory stop to the little town square bar for an espresso, just a tradition, than off to the Torre, I like to go to the ruderi first, than swing by the belvedere with an amazing panoramic view of the Amalfi coast and the Torre from high above it, and finally continue to the Torre. Again the views are amazing, you can enter the Torre and go to the top where there is a small platform to view Amalfi in full glory. On the way back, I descended via Atrani to add even more beauty to the walk. Be prepared to loads of steps, but well worth the awesome views.

The highlight of my Amalfi trip Great views on the way up to the point. Tough climb up because of the never ending stairs but it’s fairly easy on the way down. My calves are still burning! Screenshot the map I used from another commenter, Google Maps is wrong.
Matthew H — Google review
The view was very enjoyable, though google maps took us the wrong way initially, the path has signs once you get to a certain point, it has many stairs so be prepared for a good workout. Use a trail finding app to find way.
Corey G — Google review
I really enjoyed this walk up to the medieval tower that stands over Amalfi and can be seen above the monastery from the harbour. I saw the warnings about following Google maps and opted to use trail router to find the way up. The trail started on the right hand side of the road a short way after you go under the bridge if you follow the main road up through Amalfi from the harbour area. A path opposite a statue of a monk near enough. There are a lot of stairs but the walk was very enjoyable and going early on the morning we had the tower all to ourselves. Great views over Ravello, Amalfi and Atrani. Doing all the stairs on the way down gave me very stiff calves the next day but was totally worth it!
Max B — Google review
Absolutely magnificent, but don't follow Google maps, you need to do a 2h hike to get there (we just asked the locals for the way)
Cyril D — Google review
Did not have a problem finding this with the MAPS.ME app (on play store). The path is clearly (and accurately) marked in this app. We started from the back of Amalfi, walking towards Pontone. Takes under 1hr to get up to the Torre. The view is great! Make the time to go to the belvedere as well. You can sit on the edge and see both Amalfi and Atrani and the Mediterranean in front of you.
Yi — Google review
Only posting this to say - DON’T FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS. Never made it, got winded through the neighboring town and up a dead end before I had to get back to Amalfi for my ferry. That being said, it was a scenic- albeit misguided trip. 🙃

Taverna degli Apostoli is a family-run restaurant that offers delicious seafood cuisine in a great location at Piazza del Duomo in Amalfi, Italy. The extensive and interesting menu ranges from 15 to 40 euros, with choices for both lunch and dinner. The waitstaff are attentive and the restaurant has outdoor seating as well as seating inside.
Super cute resturant at the top of the square with great quality bites. Some can be on priced side but very good quality. Really loved the fish here as well as had the lemon pasta but the star was the fish. Overall really good food and great service- recommend
Michele G — Google review
Wow! We started with the octopus appetizer — incredibly tender, unlike any we’ve had before — paired with a light, delicate olive oil. For our main, we had the catch of the day: baked sea bream. The staff presented the whole fish, then expertly deboned it for us. The flavors were outstanding — the capers added a perfect touch, giving it the richness of fried fish without the heaviness of skin, while the parsley refreshed the palate beautifully. To top it all off, our waiter was absolutely wonderful, offering spot-on recommendations, and the rest of the staff were just as warm and welcoming. This cozy restaurant tucked beneath the church made us love Amalfi even more.
Lou C — Google review
We had lunch here out first day in Amalfi and it was so good that we ended up having dinner here the next three nights. The lemon pasta is delicious, and the gnocchi are just unbelievably amazing! For antipasti we had the prosciutto with burrata, the octopus and the calamaretti was out of this world. The steak was so delicious, and even the potatoes with bacon, man oh man, the bacon! For dessert we ordered the Tiramisu and the Delizia di Limon, which were real good, specially the lemon one. The service was outstanding every single time we were there. Absolutely recommend this place! If you come to Amalfi, you have to try Taverna degli Apostoli!

Excellent food and service! We came for dinner here twice during our stay in Amalfi and the servers are so kind, caring, and friendly! They gave us incredible recommendations and the food was so delicious!! We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Amalfi!

Stunning restaurant. Right at the base of the duomo, with beautiful seating over looking the steps and the square at the bottom. Plenty of seating inside too. The wait staff were very welcoming and friendly. Excellent rage of local wine. What really sings however is the food. A small but excellent menu, With starters, pasta and main. The price is more in the expensive side, starts around €20-25 and mains €35-40, the food really is excellent and with large portions still offers excellent value for money. I have the octapus slow Cooked confit style in olive oil and woody herbs, one I'd the best things ive ever eaten. Followed by the sea good pasta. Full of seafood and more pasta then I could eat. Would highly recommend for a wonderful meal in a beautiful setting

Situated right next to Duomo with a view of the crowd in the piazza in front of Duomo was perfect. The staff was super hospitable n friendly, accommodating us 10 mins before opening. One of the guy actually kept the next table’s big luggage in there They were so attentive n warm, making sure patiently we understood their menu before ordering. Their slowed cooked octopus was unforgettable. Super soft n not chewy at all. Their lemon pesto spaghetti is really good with a refreshing taste.

Cute little spot in the tourist area of Amalfi. Very friendly waiter and good quality steak. Waiting time was a bit long but since we ordered steak it’s normal. Prices are high though, which is expected in such an area.
R S — Google review
The spaghetti with lemon was amazing, so was the fish. The mozerella of caprese was delicious. We enjoyed it really much, and the service is amazing with the kindest servers we have seen here. No waiting, everything comes fast out of the kitchen. Of course, the price range is a bit high compared to the other restaurants, but it was worth it for such a dinner.

Italian restaurant
Il Flauto di Pan is an exceptional restaurant located within the stunning Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, offering a high-end dining experience perfect for special occasions. The Michelin-starred establishment showcases Mediterranean cuisine using organically grown produce and innovative flavors with spicy Eastern aromas. The restaurant has its own botanical garden, providing most of the ingredients for its dishes. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views over the Amalfi Coast from the vast terrace with outdoor seating.
Had a really great lunch here. So beautiful. The reviews were not great but we had the mushroom pasta and seafood risotto with vegetable salad. Everything was so perfect. They exceeded expectations. And the view was so enjoyable.
D. C — Google review
I am leaving a five-star review because that is the experience we had! In fairness, we were only there for lunch. But the food was exceptional. The atmosphere is heavenly. And the service left nothing wanting. The risotto in a lemon sauce was a particular standout! Wish we had gone back for dinner! So little time; so little time!
Barbara L — Google review
My wife and I came here on night two of our honeymoon and were eagerly awaiting our experience. We have thankfully been able to indulge on multiple occasions at other Michelin star restaurants back in the US, and highlighted this as a moment to look forward to. The view, atmosphere, and staff’s attentiveness and hospitality were top notch, but unfortunately the food fell short. Turning a blind eye to cost, we ventured into the 7-course tasting menu. 3/7 of the courses were simply not good, with dishes that palled in comparison to counterparts on our trip that shined at “lower quality” restaurants prior. I would not recommend spending the time/experience here, as the Michelin rating seemed undeserved, and made us question the accolade. Italy has so much quality food to offer. Explore outside of this option.
Vincent L — Google review
It was a very enjoyable experience, I don’t understand why everyone is whining in the comments but I would like to come here again for sure. Salvatore was very nice person and he always kept us in track in the dinner. Also the lady on the front desk was kind enough to help us out with the transportation problems that we were having. I would recommend if you’re visiting Amalfi soon…
Nur Ç — Google review
For starters, the service is very good, as to be expected from fine dining. The wait staff is on top of everything for the most part and really does take the time to explain each dish. The atmosphere is outstanding. My only complaint is that they do seat everyone on top of you. Considering the restaurant was pretty much empty, it would have been nice to spread out more. There is a phenomenal wine list as well. Plenty of options from each region to choose from. Finally, the biggest disappointment was the food. We went for the full tasting menu which included 7 courses. The started was very good. It was a local Amberjack , done carpaccio style. Great flavor and very complex. Courses 2-4 were either too salty or lacked any distinct flavor profile. The sphagettone was very salty and took away from the herbs and flavors that should have been showcased. The main two dishes (5-6) were pretty good however the lamb was slightly tough. Again there was slightly too much salt. The dessert was a highlight including the basil sorbetto. Overall the experience is pretty amazing. I would recommend to anyone that appreciates fine dining to try it out. When it comes to taste and flavor, you maybe be better at a local trattoria or osteria.

This is our third time here , first time since after Covid. The first times we came here there was a live band playing and the atmosphere was extremely busy and everything seemed to jive perfectly and even had a washroom attendant. Seemed like everything was on point, we always had a meal infront of us and there was always new butter/oils with different bread between meals even complimentary wine pours. This time around while the food was extremely good and as good as the first times we were here, seemed much more limited, there was only bread served to us at the start, which is perfectly okay but often left waiting for food or engagement. We were there at 8pm on a Sunday and it was pretty quiet with only a DJ which was a new and different perspective , a lot less staff and no bathroom attendant. The staff didn’t seem to work as well together as they used to, we often saw them rush each other or it was extremely evident when something wasn’t right, we shouldn’t be hearing the gossip or having to feel the stress from behind the scenes. Perhaps we came on an off day but since we have come here after the Michelin star, things seem abit different quality wise in the experience, they did forget our last dessert but my wife was full therefore couldn’t eat another meal so we didn’t bother. They also were cleaning up the side tables and everything while we were finishing up which made us feel more rushed to get out the door but the food was good once again don’t get me wrong and the staff was nice. Not to put anything down but simply an observation, will have to come by again to truly see
Matt — Google review
Marco, you made my dinner perfect, the staff was very helpful, the food was well explained from start to finish so I couldn't wait to eat it, the food was delicious. Thank you so much Marco, I'm amazed by your morning life chasing the sunrise. Cheers
Louis D — Google review
Our experience at this restaurant was overshadowed by what felt like an unfair practice. We chose the tasting menu, which cost around €370 in total. When it came to selecting the wine, we trusted the staff’s recommendation, expecting something balanced and in line with the meal. However, the suggested bottle ended up costing €400 — more expensive than the entire food itself. At a restaurant of this level, there should be full transparency, especially when staff are making recommendations. Guests should always be made aware of the price range before such an expensive bottle is served. This left us with the impression of abuse and a lack of care towards the customer. The food was fine, but the way the wine was handled completely ruined the experience.

Da Maria is a classic Italian restaurant and pizzeria located on the main street of Amalfi. The rustic dining room with vaulted ceilings offers a charming atmosphere to enjoy traditional local seafood dishes and excellent pizza. Chef Salvatore Milano's expert hands bring an original twist to Amalfi cuisine, with must-try dishes like fish soup and genovese sauce.
We sat outside and it was perfect. We got there a little early because if you come anytime after 630, you'll be waiting in line to get a table. It books up fast. We ordered chicken and ravioli and they were great. We also got the pizza. I didn't like the tiramisu because it had a thick layer of thick cream on top rather than soaked in coffee in the dough. Overall 5/5

A very high-quality restaurant, fresh and high-quality ingredients, very nice and kind waiters. The portions are large and satisfying, the steak with cherry tomatoes and Parmesan is incredibly delicious, the grilled fish is also highly recommended! Clean and tidy restrooms. The only complaint is that it was hot inside and they didn't turn on the air conditioners. The coolers they did have were set to 26 degrees, which is not enough in the summer heat. Other than that, it's highly recommended ✨

It’s really delicious in the town! We wueyed for few min then we got a seat! Very crowded, It’s spacious inside. They served the food really fast after we ordered. I like spaghetti with shrimp, pizza and fried seafood! We were very satisfied with the meals 👍🏻

Recommended by my host, this is a very Italian trattoria. Seafood was fresh especially the mussels. Their focaccia started was so good that I finished up n didn’t even take a photo.. we ordered the Tramonti pizza which is just as tasty as their pasta. A little pricey but you’re in Almalfi.. 🤪 Tried their limoncello, it really gave me the kick! Hahaha. They were so sweet that they gave us a shot of lemon slush at the end of the meal. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

If you’re ever in Amalfi, Da Maria is like going back in time to a traditional Italian Trattoria. The place has a real buzz and ambiance and was extremely busy on a Wednesday evening! We waited about 10 minutes for a table for two and we were shown to our table but who I think appeared to be the owner. We ordered the Prosciutto Crudo with Melon for starter and for mains we had the Chicken in lemon sauce and potatoes and the Fettuccine with Bolognaise sauce, we also shared the Tiramisu dessert. The food here was simply superb, and priced very reasonably. The service from the staff is top tier, they’re used to being busy with a lot of clientele from different cultures /backgrounds! If you’re in Amalfi, make sure you reserve a table at Di Maria!

A fabulous place to eat in Amalfi. Amazing staff works well together to be sure you have all you need! Food is fresh. Great selection. We had pizza and side of grilled vegetables. Enjoy! Get there at 6:30 when they open if you are hungry. Always a line. ( For a good reason!)😃

I spent nine days in southern Italy and I have to say the best pizza I had was the one from this location in Amalfi. Absolutely delicious, not dripping fat, and you can taste pure fresh ingredients and it was super tasty. I gave four stars because they were skimpy on the air conditioner. It was really hot. They should have better air conditioning in the location. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place if you’re in for an authentic purely tasty Italian-style pizza, especially if you are in the Amalfi area.

Huge Recommendation!!!! The best pasta and the best service I’ve ever had. The staff is friendly and every dish is in decent size. We took: Green salad with orange, lemon, blue cheese and caramelized balsamic sauce. Shrimp & calamari ravioli Paste with porcini mushrooms. Peach cheese cake dessert (a must)

Italian home cooking at its finest! We've visited a total of 5 times over our last 2 trips to Ravello and can't wait to return again. Some of our favorite dishes are Lasagna, lemon pasta, mushroom pasta, and meatballs. The desserts are also amazing. Thank you so much Nicola for your hospitality and incredible food!

Outstanding! We’re already planning our return. The bruschetta and pasta dishes were absolutely delicious, the wines were fantastic, and our waiter’s service was exceptional. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Reiltin H — Google review
A real hidden gem in Ravello serving simple, authentic Italian food. We started with the bruschetta topped with burrata, confit tomatoes and pistachio pesto – absolutely superb. The pastas of the day all sounded tempting, but we chose the creamy lemon pasta and the creamy zucchini pasta, both of which were outstanding. Fresh flavours, generous portions and a relaxed atmosphere made this a memorable meal.

The food here is simply perfect. Instead of Marina Grande in Amalfi, this place deserves the Michelin plaque in the future. We didn’t even plan on having dessert, but since everything was flawless, we couldn’t resist – and we’re glad we didn’t. This is Italian cuisine at its absolute best.

Would give more stars if I could. Just a few minutes walk from the main square, you can find this gem run by a welcoming local. The food is outstanding and probably the best in Ravello. It is quite a bit more expensive than other Italian establishments, but worth it.

Had a fantastic meal here on our last night in ravello! The restaurants in town close early (around 9:30pm) and luckily we got a table here! Delish menu options and awesome vibe! The bruschetta was great- a bit different than most places which was a nice change! And the meatballs were so flavourful! We got to speak to the chef/owner afterwards and he’s such a kind interesting man! A must see in ravello!

Shabu Amalfi is a Japanese fusion restaurant with delicious sushi and creative roll combinations. The food is fresh and affordable, making it an excellent choice for diners in Amalfi. The restaurant is just a short walk away from the busy central square and bustling port area.
personnel is top of the kindness scale. chef came out to personally hand a complimentary Nigiri. it is a fusion sushi place but on the traditional side their fish is up to high standards. so for pure sushi lovers go for the nigiri, they still give it a personal touch but it s all well done. reasonable prices for a very good place.

I was craving something other than Italian food and boy did this place hit the spot. I had the mixed sashimi and the tuna tartare roll. The sashimi was especially phenomenal. The service here was excellent as well, my server was very attentive and fast. It was not very busy at the time I went so I was easily able to get a table outside the restaurant. A little bit quieter and tucked away from the Amalfi tourists too. Eat here if you can!!

Ate sushi here since it was so close to the the place where we were staying. And I’m so glad we did! BEST sushi my boyfriend and I ever had! And we’re from Miami I thought we had good sushi there. Nothing compared to Shabu. We had the Angy roll and the crunchy salmon, along with shrimp rice and it was all AMAZING. The service was also so great, the two girls that work there spoke English well and were the nicest girls ever! So happy we are at this place.
