Oh my g0d, what a wonderful place. Firstly, just as a shop, secondly, as a distillery where you can learn details how the local specials are made, and lastly… you will not believe how welcoming the staff are (especially Ivanka? Or similar name which I couldn’t remember). They will ghost you like an old friend giving you all the best they have! I’ll be back.

Top place! And also top gin! We were welcomed with some liquor to taste and then we visited the distillery! Friendly but professional stuff. We also had a local gin and a light liquor and a free plate of cheese and ham was on the table in less than a second! Bravo!

Amazing experience, must visit place if you are in Croatia. This place is an epitome of hospitality. I was travelling with my family from Croatia to Germany and discovered this distillery by chance. We thought of buying some local liquor and decided to stop over. As soon as we entered there was no one selling anything or pushing us to buy, we felt like we were guest in someone’s home. We tried chocolates, Jams, we were served tasty cocktails for tasting. Ivana also gave us a tour of the distillery, my kids really enjoyed the experience. I was at the distillery in mid of June. Little late to write my review but I promised the host that I am gonna definitely write a review for this spot. I bought orange cello, local chocolates, olive oil, jam, biska and gin. Everything we bought has great quality and taste. I would defiantly visit again when I am in Croatia next time.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth and friendliness by the staff and it instantly set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable visit. Everyone we met was passionate, knowledgeable, and eager to share the story behind their incredible products. We had an amazing time exploring the distillery, learning about the process, and of course, tasting! The highlight was definitely Teranino and istrian Gin, it’s truly one of a kind. Unique in flavor, beautifully crafted. We couldn’t leave without taking a bottle (or two!) home. This visit was so much more than we expected. Completely worth it! If you’re in the area, don’t miss the chance to stop by. It’s a gem!

We visited Aura destilleri and we left with loads of excellent memories. Great place, remarkable experience and excellent display of many various products. Warmth, knowledge and friendliness of all staff, but particularly from Ivana and Fernanda. We will definitely visit Aura again.

Walking into Destilerija Aura in Buzet feels like stepping into a secret world of tradition, flavor, and style. The interior is stunning - exposed stone walls, vintage details like the old cash register, glowing shelves of bottles, and even their iconic Vespa tucked inside. It’s not just a shop, it’s an experience ❤️. We were welcomed with complimentary tastings of food and drinks 😍. Platters of Istrian cheese, prosciutto, olives, and fresh bread were paired with their unique liqueurs and gins. The staff were beyond kind, taking the time to explain every flavor, and since they had time, they even gave us a private tour. Seeing the barrels, herbs, and distilling area up close added so much authenticity. The products are outstanding - the premium Pelinkovac is rich and herbal, while the famous Teranino is sweet, smooth, and unforgettable. Their Karbun gin also stood out as something special. ✨ Tip: Don’t rush. Take your time to taste, ask questions, and enjoy the atmosphere. You’ll probably end up bringing home more bottles than you planned. We’ll definitely be back!

Best experience! Ferdinanda was an extremely lovely host, who showed us the distillery and walked us trough the tasting with plenty of expertise and ease! 10/10 recommendation!!!

Wonderful service from the owner. Food was very good and the greens seemed fresh and local. We had both the red and white local wines. We both preferred the white. The red was good, but heavier and Cab like. Overall an excellent experience. Recommended. The owner spoke Croatian, Italian and English.

Great atmosphere and the owner was incredibly welcoming. The food and drinks were amazing and well priced! The terrace we sat on had a great view over the valley as well. We would definitely come again.

Home made pasta with truffles and asparagus served with lovely family feeling. Everything is made home from the scratch and fresh. We enjoyed our our slow food experience which was topped with cake covered with truffles and dried fruits. Absolutely recommended and the view is fantastic. Thank you from Slovenia :) Since this is a old town center, navigating around with a huge car or a van can be a adventure. But you can park before entering the old town.

The place is on top of the hill, has a beautiful view. We stopped in Buzet because our son was getting ill and needed a place to have some soup. The manager said they have a vegetable soup so I agreed to sit down . Sadly as much as the bean is vegetable , a bean soup usually is not called like that as it is too heavy with corn and smoked meat. And it was extremely expensive , 13€ we paid for the soup, which was our fault we didnt checked beforehand , but we would have never thought we pay more than 6-7€ for a soup. Parking is not possible only before enters in the center there is a parking lot then need to walk up. However, the manager was very friendly , place is good , view great.

Fantastic find in Buzet. The host was incredibly friendly, gracious and kind. He was patient with our party of 6 and got us seated right away. The food was amazing; I especially enjoyed the beefsteak with fresh black truffles that my friend ordered. But all of the pastas were delicious. Beautiful view of Buzet as well. 13/10 loved it

Wow! what a fantastic meal & service! Seasonal gnocchi with wild asparagus and wild asparagus & truffle were an absolute culinary highlight of our trip around Croatia!

We stopped just to try some coffe and dessert and it was delicious, the cake and vanilla ice cream were sweet. Panna cotta was amazig. The consistency was more foamy - totally different than I had before, so it was a really nice experience. The place is beautiful and the view, just amazing and very pleasing 😊

Found this nice little place for lunch after leaving the charming town of Buzet! Not sure what to get for four people, so the waiter suggested a mixed grill. It was fantastic! Biggest problem was the number of people who came in overwhelmed the wait staff. They tried hard to serve everyone, but food took 45 minutes. But it was excellent, with high-quality meat and veggies, including some sauces and bread! We had two beers each, so this was a reasonable price for lunch.

I love the simplicity of local cuisine and that’s the case - excellent in taste, nourishing and simple. Traditional Croatian kitchen with a great service - a place to stop and enjoy. (We had Pleskavici, Pizza Margarita, Sopskij salad and tartufo)

Food was average and reasonably priced. Service was fast. Our experience here was ruined due to the fact that they don’t accept credit card although their listing here mentions credit card/NFC. Waitress said their system is broken past 2 weeks but no “Cash Only” sign outside. Forced to pay 14% conversion at the ATM right outside…

We stopped for lunch on the way to Piran. I ordered great grilled meat, served with fries. The pork chop was very juicy and full of flavor. My wife ordered grilled calamari, which was also soft and melted in the mouth. I heartily recommend this place!

Very very bad! I waited over 10 minutes to be served and the very very short haired waitress who saw us seated didn't even come. We waited, we saw her fall a tray with full bottles and glasses and still nothing for us... After that, she sat down at a table to drink her drink... Annoyed, we left. It's the only bad thing in a beautiful village. And they do a lot of noise at 1am with client drunks. Bar not at all touristy. To flee !

Caffè Bar Melody offers a good range of locally produced craft beers, wines and liquors at reasonable prices. The atmosphere and views from the terrace outside are beautiful and the service is warm and friendly. If you are staying at the Hotel Vela Vrata next door, this is the ideal place to relax and enjoy a few drinks to round off your evening perfectly. Thank you. 🙂

Amazing little cafe / bar with a great selection of beer. Really good prices and friendly staff. Fresh selection of lemonades are a great way to cool down.

Really good coffee (not kidding!), local craft beer on tap and local spiritz mixed into refreshing long drinks. Recommended!

Great drink options, fantastic views and quality attentive service. What more could you ask for? Great way to end our days after exploring Istria while staying at the hotel next door.
