Amazing Experience at Red Square, Moscow!
Visiting Red Square was truly an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere is full of history, culture, and beauty. Standing in the heart of Moscow, surrounded by the stunning Saint Basil’s Cathedral, the Kremlin walls, and the State Historical Museum, felt like stepping into a living postcard.
The architecture is breathtaking, especially at sunset when the lights make the whole square glow beautifully. Everything is so clean, organized, and well-maintained. Street performers, local cafes, and friendly people add to the lively vibe.
It’s not just a tourist spot — it’s the soul of Russia, where the past and present meet. I would highly recommend everyone to visit Red Square at least once in their lifetime!

This square is one of the grandest in the world. I came here a few times and I am always really impressed by the grandeur and the architecture.

The Moscow Kremlin, also known as The Kremlin, is a massive fortified complex located in the heart of Moscow. Originally built as the tsar's residence, it now serves as the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation. This historic site houses ancient churches used for royal ceremonies and various museums showcasing Russian state regalia and art. Visiting requires careful planning due to ticket logistics and entry requirements, but exploring over five centuries of history within its walls makes it all worthwhile.
A must visit place in Moscow having rich history and architectural value. It was great from outside as well but we took an inside tour as well. Inside there very many beautiful churches even dating back to 13th century. The churches have beautiful hand painted art on its walls and roof.

Highly recommend the tour of the inside of the Kremlin, where you can visit cathedrals dating back to the 13th century. Great place to be anytime during the day, but especially at night! (I would also advise making a stop at the eternal flame, which honors the loss of soldiers' lives in WWII).

A place full of history, the churches, and gardens are well worth the visit. Its impressive how this place is so well maintained. You can see the cannons left behind by Napoleon. You can also see iconic buildings from Russia's history although the tourist can really only see them from the outside, yet its still very worthwhile.

It is the most popular place in Moscow. The beautiful square with towers. All of my life in Moscow I visited this place 7-8 times. I think that this square is the best for tourists due to its history.
Fantastic experience. We took the opportunity to take a cruise excursion into Moscow on high speed train. We had the most wonderful tour guide who had a great head of knowledge. It was a long day but so worth the money for the trip. Loved every minute of it. Would recommend the trip.
Amazing, a must see place. Have a tour that takes in the Cathedrals and the Treasury museum, spectacular. Finish it off by visiting Red Square in the evening, with everything lit up.

Nestled conveniently near the iconic Red Square, Okhotny Ryad is a vibrant underground shopping haven that beckons both locals and tourists alike. This expansive mall boasts over 160 stores featuring popular brands in fashion, footwear, jewelry, cosmetics, and more—all at wallet-friendly prices.
Very interesting mall underground located between four seasons and dr zivago or the Carlton. You enter it from the subway . 3 floors underground . The last floor has a full food court area , we had Chinese and sushi . Was sooooooo good

Nice mall. You can find good stuff in here. They have huge uniclo store and food court. Its only problem is that it is not very well maintained- considering the fact it’s in the heart of the red square, you would expect it to look more than an 80’s shopping mall.
This mall is near metro and red square, there is a lot of merchant and also has many variant of food examples for asian cuisine you can find it at foodcourt and also in this mall you should pay 50 rub for toilet . And also has beautiful fontain, inside and outside even in the roof
Okhotny Ryad Shopping Center is located at Manezhnaya Square. This is a underground shopping centre near major sightseeing such as Red Square and Kremlin. Opening hours are 10am to 10pm daily.
Here you will find basic eateries, coffee shops and several levels of mostly midrange retail shops that might make for a fair shopping experience. What we liked best was the area with the statue fountain and the high glass dome ceiling. Here you can look upward and see the glass window of the World Clock fountain.
Make a stop here if you need a break from the cold in the winter or if you fancy something light and inexpensive to eat in between area sightseeing. Otherwise, you might want to save your shopping time and money for more interesting streets and shopping areas in the city.
It's an interesting mall situated in the practically enter to the red square. It's underground, and have -3 floors. As all in Russia it doesn't look so modern. There are a lot of Western magazines. For tourists it's a good option breakfast, or dinner, there are burguerking, McDonald's and etc, (some of the restaurants are in the -3 floor at the final). Also there are coffees, as there are only magazines there hence there are nothing to do for tourists. Is also connected to the subway station.
It's ok. Makes me feel claustrophobic. Really crowded. Toilets are nowhere to be seen. Some shops are quite good though. Right near the Red Square.

A beautiful shopping mall walking distance to the Red Square. It has all kind of shops and some eating options as well. There are multiple ice cream selling points in the mall. I had ice cream at the shopping mall; ice cream was good. The overall ambiance of the place is modern and up to date.

The history of GUM in Moscow began in the 19th century, when the Upper Trading Rows were located on the site of the current building. The first shops appeared here in the 17th century, but they were wooden, then a stone building appeared, but in about 70 years it also became outdated.
In 1889-1893, the old rows were demolished, and in their place a new passage was built with imitation of forms of ancient Russian architecture and folk art, but at the same time modern materials and technologies were used. . The building received elements of Art Nouveau and a unique glass roof, which became one of its calling cards.
At the end of the 19th century, it became fashionable to use elements reminiscent of towers, boyar chambers and church architecture of the 17th century: keeled arches, hipped roofs, patterned platbands, pipe columns, figured pediments, kokoshniks and striped masonry. However, unlike real Old Russian architecture, where the decor was an organic part of the structure, in the 19th and 20th centuries these elements were often imposed on modern buildings as decorative ones.
Striking examples are the Historical Museum in Moscow and, of course, GUM, where these details are combined with huge glass arches and metal ceilings from the era of the Industrial Revolution.
The shopping arcade quickly turned into a center of luxury - hundreds of shops, salons and restaurants operated here. After the revolution of 1917, trade was closed, and the building was used for warehouses and even for housing for officials.
In 1921, by decree of Lenin, the State Department Store, or GUM, was opened here. In the 1930s, trade was temporarily stopped, and ministries were placed there.
In 1953, the store reopened and became a symbol of Soviet trade - scarce goods, a grocery store and a cafe appeared here. In the 1990s, GUM was privatized and gradually turned into a premium shopping center with boutiques of world brands.
Today, GUM is not only a store, but also a cultural space, and in the cafeteria No. 57 you can try dishes from the Soviet era, although in my personal opinion, they don’t really know how to cook them here.
The building has become a super symbol of Moscow, combining history, trade and modernity. Its glass roofs, archaic-retro facades and three levels of passages make it a unique architectural monument.

Gorky Park is a large park located in the centre of Moscow, Russia. The park features a number of attractions such as the zoo, an amusement park and a theater. The park is also home to several sculptures and monuments, including one to founder Mikhail Lomonosov. Sparrow Hills, another popular attraction in the park, offers stunning views of the city skyline and the Moscow River.

Beautiful green park and a viewing point with great views of the Luzhniki stadium and Moscow City. The MGU (Moscow State University) main building is an enormously curious monument of the Soviet gigantomania. Very impressive, full of interesting stories and urban legends. Lucky students!
We took the opportunity to walk to the top rather than use a bus or taxi. It was spectacular. The path easy to walk, lots of shaded benches to sit and enjoy the lush forest and birdsong.
Sparrow Hills is an amazing point in moscow. You can just go there to walk close to one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. The view at the end of the hills is amazing and very wide. I've visited it while it was snowing and the experience was cold but amazing 😍

The variety of food is great. The prices are fair and the taste is even better. I had to go back before I left Moscow because it became my go-to place while sightseeing. I highly recommend it, but take your time and don't take too much because you'll end up with a lot of food like I did the first time!! I was there for Lunch. Eat a little and need go to the restroom. Waiting, as the room is permanently occupiete from Person who are not eating there ( terrible). I think Mu-Mu is a good and safe chain to eat in Russia.
Food was tasty, drinks were food. Nothinh too fancy but alright.
Prices aren't always clear (some are per 100g) so pay attention when ordering.
I think it is slightly overpriced for what you get but would still recommend it as there is a wide choice and it's easy to get something that looks familiar without reading Russian.

It's a self service a-la-carte joint, wherein you take a tray and choose your options as you move along the counter. Once you've settled the payment according to the items you've chosen, choose a place to sit and savour the Russian delicacies.
A full (giant) meal (in the picture) including the large mixed berry juice costed me RUB740.
The food was amazing, the staff were very patient and polite (understood that I'm a foreigner and needed a little extra time to decide!!!) And the ambience was like a rustic wine cellar, which for me created a very warm atmosphere

I should try this franchise restaurant. I enjoyed food, especially the chicken soup with noodle. It warms my body, after 6 hours of tour in crelim.

I must say this is my one of the favorite places in Moscow actually most Favorites. I am anytime ready for the food here. Over the years, its been more than 5 years since I am visiting this Chain of Restaurants in Moscow.
Its Canteen theme buffet arranged restaurant with staff attending and you can select dishes and pay for every dish you take. They serve Beef and Pork and Chicken. I usually eat Chicken dishes. They have all varieties of Russian local dishes along with some Soviet Dishes. Borscht is one of the Ukranian dish which is a Famous Soviet staple dish.
Earlier MuMu used to give a toffee complimentary. A sugary toffee was tasting like jaggery and one can tell with its taste its one of the oldest style toffee.
I visited these Restaurants almost after two years and I could not find this iconic Toffee and also the Kvas (Russian Local drink made of Bread, non alcoholic). Hope to Visit one more time.

Interacting with friendly locals added to the charm, and we found ourselves surrounded by beautiful people, both inside and out. Stolovaya 57 truly offers a glimpse into Russian life while providing delicious food, making it a must-visit destination for tourists seeking an authentic experience in Moscow.

The price is a bit expensive and the taste is average. A lot of local people eat in here, everything in No.57 like the worker’s canteen in USSR. If you are a tourist, is a place worth for you to visit and have a lunch. However, be careful you need to wait in a long queue! And although here in the centre of Moscow and Russia, the staff of the No.57 can not speak English, they just speak Russian.

Oh yea I realize the price is also a bit touristy. Which is normal. But the experience to have this kind of buffet, and try all the Russian local dishes, and drinks, is the only thing you need after a visit to the Kremlin
The place is so clean and luxurious. They speak English too little but you can find all the English name (and price) on each tag. So just take everything that attracts you and pay at the end of the line. I can say almost everything taste good!!

Yeah, food is decent, wouldn't really suprize you much, what you are really here for is for the experience, to experience the soviet dinning halls and capture the whole atmosphere, the whole key of the place it's located "GUM" is that no matter how much time goes, it never gets old or outdated, always remains it's own significance. I cannot describe how happy I am to have discovered this place!! Who would have thought that in a fancy mall with lots of couture brands you can find a modest and so worth place like this to eat?! I'm fascinated; decent prices, good options and literally fabulous food! Super tasty Russian food, the place is also kept clean all the time. I was eating there every day, it's too affordable and too good!
This is an old soviet style self-service canteen in the most luxurious shopping mall of Moscow. Just this contrast alone makes it worth a visit. Grab your tray and serve yourself some of 20+ Russian specialties and pay at the counter. The food is very cheap therefore don't expect highest quality but everything tastes good. We had borsch, beef with mushroom cutlet, salmon & caviar with cream cheese and boiled egg. My favorite was the eggplant with cream cheese and garlic. Would definitely come back for a snack next time.

Roof top bar with probably THE BEST view over Red Square and Moscow Center. Stunning views, we were speechless for some time when we reached there. Really friendly service, nice cocktails. Nice music and atmosphere. Place is not cheap, but totally worth it!!!
Amazing lounge/bar/restaurant. We had a reservation for after our visit to the Bolshoi to see the Nutcracker. The cocktails are fantastic and the service professional. The menu is expensive compared to ‘normal’ restaurants, but this it the Ritz so expect it to be something a bit special. Our fillet mignon was absolutely perfect. The view from the roof is amazing too. Although it was 11pm in January and -3 with snow flurries that didn’t stop my wife and I from taking in the view despite this and being in a dress and tuxedo. Highly recommend.
Great cocktail "Moscow Sling", food also look good. What went wrong then? Yes, the soup was delicious but the pasta was overcooked and that's the beginning of the story. (However, the prawn was cooked to perfection)
I was changing my mind so I didn’t get any dessert from here. So I decided to find some other place to go for dessert instead. I went to pay and l just let the waiter know politely that the pasta was overcooked. I like it al dente and therefore I didn’t eat it. There was 2-3 staff there and they were laughing at me and looked at me while asked me very racist “Where are you came from? Are you the Philippines” I said sorry I am not and walked away very disappointing for the Ritz-Carlton Moscow and how they’ve trained their staff.
It’s a fantastic place with wonderful view. The food and drinks are fine as well. The bartenders are conversable and tell me a lot of story about the vodka and many great suggestions to the city. I definitely will stay in Ritz again. :)

Unfortunately, here I can highlight only view on the Kremlin from the terrace and cocktails. Food is poor - not tasty and expensive. Some positions from the menu were absent. So, if you don’t want to regret for a dinner, you should go there only for cocktails.
Staff is average - look like not suitable for this place, nobody smiles.

Amazing place! One full day might not be enough to enjoy all of it. This is a great example how something done during USSR can be maintained, repurposed and improved in a great park and tourist attraction. All the buildings of the different countries are fantastic and feature mini-museums and even small shops with each country's unique products.
A great place to visit with a lot of pavilions for different countries that were part of the USSR and also for different domains such as Space, Nuclear energy, Transportations and so on.
I came early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful architecture of these pavilions and from about 10:30~11:00 I visited some of the many museums, since they open quite "late"
If You want to fully enjoy that huge place and a few museums, consider staying the whole day !
The grandeur of the façade was understandably beyond the norm. The temporary exhibition was interesting to see; however, it disrupted the overall theme and differed from what I had expected to be on display. Nevertheless, it was still a worthwhile place to visit.

It is a place to see what Soviet union is proud of. It is also a nice park to walk around for hours with beautiful fountains, live concerts and street food. Do not miss the local hot fruit tea, it is amazing. I’m going today to a theater in the House of culture, Hall 82 in the exhibition center.

Sokolniki Park, named after the royal falconry that once took place in its dense forest, was established by Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. Over the years, it has been transformed with updated lawns, landscaped ponds, picnic areas, a summer cinema and theater, a rose garden, sports grounds, and bicycle paths. The park features 8 alleys forming 9 sectors with trees of the same breed in each sector.
The place is magically beautiful and huge, if you are looking for a long walk and want to clear your mind, you must visit it, unfortunately i didn't discover it until the very last days of my trip. If you want a quiet place, avoid going on the weekend. it has different activities like play area, roses park...

There’s huge variety of local and international cuisine from Vietnamese and Turkish to Italian and Indian.
I simply love the park. Walking my dog there every morning. Lot of things to see and do with many playgrounds for young children, a health trail with workout facilities and a food market at the end/entrance of the park.
I have a deja-vu feeling that I was already prompted to share my opinion of Sokolniki park. Oh well, I can write like like Tolstoy, quantity wise at least ) The park is very old, I looked up old maps and general shape and main roads, cutting through it, were formed around the time of Peter the Great. Recently it was modernised with hip summer benches and nice walkways. Rosarium is a great garden within a garden. Chekhov used to party and drink here with his friends. Now I am sure that I was mentioning it before. Shall I write new park impressions every week now?) Google maps prompts me!

This is a very peaceful park in Moscow. I saw many people enjoying ski and skate in the park road. That experience was and is really shocked to me. Also Russian singer sings in the park and many people are excited.

A very good shopping mall in Moscow. Very big and have many different stores it’s near to metro just around 5 minutes walk from voykovskaya metro station. I visited this mall because there’s a store of quicksilver and billabong and I like clothes of these brands and it has many other stores like Nike, Adidas originals and all. It has some restaurants at top floor and some coffee shops also. It’s a good mall for shopping.

Metropolis is a very interesting shopping mall, it is the host for most of the top brands. The mall has a good location is very accessible. The parking spots can be found at any time. It was a good shopping experience as i could find a lot of discounts and promotions as well.

I was a bit upset about our table, upon reservation I asked for a good table, but eventually we got a very small for 3 ppl table, right in the aisle. At the same moment there were many couples at much bigger tables.

Overall good experience. Decent italian and European cuisine. White fish fillet on a bed of tomatoes wad fresh and nice, but the choice of the vegetables to go with the fish seemed a bit too much. The tomatoes were to intense to go together with the fish. Pasta with tuna was too heavy and tuna overcooked. Great selection of appetizers. Good service, however the chef could not customise pasta with mushrooms for us. Special r to the strawberry merengue, this dessert been in the menu for the last 5 or more years, but still is one of my favourite.

One of my favorites in Moscow. First the entrance is so grand and you feel you might be entering a palace. The park is so huge that’s it’s hard to cover all of it. There are walking areas, cycling areas, small stores for food, a fountain and we were fortunate to see a small musical show of it (see video), playing areas and more. One can totally spend a full day here.
Central Park is not close to what this amazing green park has to offer - most importantly SAFE and full of nature. Amazing highly recommended to visit when in Moscow
I recently visited this park along the Moscow River in Russia, and it proved to be a delightful experience. While the park was undergoing renovations, limiting my exploration within, the stroll along the Moscow River more than made up for it. The serene ambiance and scenic views provided a soothing escape. I can only imagine how wonderful it will be once the renovations are complete. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the picturesque river walk!

It is a really big park with lots of gardens, activities, food stalls, concert areas, long lines of benches by the canal, jogging tracks, various plants trees and flowers and many more in store
I was walking with my friend towards the sunset in spring and summer season and loving each and every step. Out of awareness, I walked from one Metro Station to the other, and the next one!!
Well I wish it has more portable toilets but I think this park is a MUST visit for everyone

What a nice leisurely park. It is massive in size and clean. What makes it safer is it attracts a lot of tourists and localities. You may see military events happening there on special occasions. The park is popular among localities and tourists. You can spot bars and cafes. Floral beautification is incredible. You can find playing courts, lakes and enjoy boating there. The end of the Gorky park touches banks the Moskva river. The place is ideal for capturing some stunning views of Moscow city. I took a taxi from Christ the Saviour church to Gorky Park. It is a highly recommended place to visit.
Great place to spend a day. Lots of sport activities and charming places to rest. Full of history from Imperial and Soviet Era. Radisson river cruises are the great addition to excursion. 1000 rubles (about $15) will get get 2 and half hours of amazing river trip.

Kramskoy, Vasnetsov, Serov, Repin, Savitsky—to name only a few—are represented in the Tretyakov Gallery, which offers an overwhelming feast for the eyes of art lovers. The museum displays countless masterpieces I had only read about: The Unknown Woman (often called the Russian Mona Lisa), Morning in a Pine Forest (Alenka chocolate wrappers), Ivan the Terrible and His Son Ivan, and a striking portrait of Pushkin, among others. After just 40 minutes, my mind was flooded with a surge of impressions and information. With 62 rooms to explore, this is clearly not a one-day museum. The entrance fee of 700 rubles is a bargain.
Very disappointing experience at the Tretyakov Gallery
I visited the Tretyakov Gallery on September 25 and had a very disappointing experience. The website, the online tickets, and even the entrance signs all clearly stated that the museum would close at 9 PM. However, at 7:30 PM everyone was suddenly told to leave because of a private event — something that had never been announced anywhere.
No one, not even the security staff, seemed to know about this early closure. The situation was handled poorly, and some staff were rude and unhelpful. It was also surprising that no one at the information desk spoke English in such a major international museum.
Because of this, I had to completely change my travel plans and return the next day, buying new tickets and audioguides. Unfortunately, one of the main reasons for my visit — the famous Girl with Peaches — was not on display that day.
Although I later received a refund for the first day’s tickets, the gallery’s response ignored the other issues I raised and fell far below my expectations.
Art museums can sometimes feel overwhelming, filled with endless hallways and masterpieces you're not sure how to appreciate. But the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow was different. Stepping inside felt like stepping into a warm embrace of Russian art history. Maybe it was the way the chronological layout unfolded Russia's artistic journey, or perhaps the sheer passion for Russian culture that resonated from every canvas.
One of the things that surprised me most was the sheer diversity of styles on display. From the deeply religious icon paintings of the early days to the bold strokes of the avant-garde, the Tretyakov Gallery showcased the evolution of Russian art in a way I hadn't seen before.
But it wasn't just about the artistic movements. Certain paintings jumped out at me, leaving a lasting impression. The Appearance of Christ by Alexander Ivanov was the one of the iconic piece of the museum.
The Tretyakov Gallery wasn't just a museum; it felt like a conversation with the soul of Russia. It allowed me to understand the country's history, culture, and emotions through the eyes of its greatest artists.

A very big gallery with great artwork (if you're a fan of it). You need at least a couple of hours to see all of it. The ticket is 500 rubbles for adults. But I'd recommend the Shimov gallery. Much more impressive.

I have visited mung churches and Cathedrals in many cities in Russia but i feel by far the church with the most spectacular interior is Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The paintings inside are mind blowing. It's absolutely beautiful. The architecture is magnificent. This is one of the Must-visit cathedrals if you are ever in Russia.

This is a beautiful place for a long walk which takes you through the gardens with the Kremlin wall on one side and bridges and statues along the way. We did this a couple of times as a nice way to enter the Kremlin.

While literally all their menus are appealing, I strongly recommend trying the pizza alla bergamasca. This one has a FANTASTIC taste: the prosciutto, the marvelous and most important gorgonzola cheese (Italian blue cheese), and the crispy dough combine and offer an exquisite gastronomical experience!!
Their burrata is also the best in Moscow thanks to the sweet and fresh cherry tomatoes soaked in olive oil.
As for the dessert, please go get that millefeuille. It is so flavorful, refreshing, and marvelous!!!
Good place with a nice and intimate atmosphere. As about meals, the pinza that we shared as a starter was delicious (Trentina). Then we enjoyed a delicious steak, perfectly cooked, from a high quality meat, and a very tasty risotto. Portions are quite small so you may want to order sides. For deserts, the tiramisu and the cheesecake were delicious. A bad point though: we wanted another desert with our coffee at 22:55 and the waitress said that it was not possible because the kitchen had already closed. A good point is that the chef was walking around in the restaurant.

First time there I ordered only pinza and desert, all was very delicious. The second time I tried the following:
Roman style veal escalope with prosciutto and sage - was a bit disappointed with this dish. Meat was too dry, portion was tiny for the price.
Pinza with speck and truffles - tried it during my first visit and ordered again. Awesome, especially if you like truffles!

Lime and cucumber lemonade - was too sweet to my taste. Did not taste lime that much.
For parents: the place has a chair for babies
Very nice staff which is always ready to help you. They all speak English very well. The ingredients all seem of good quality and very fresh. I wonder how they got them around the sanctions. The burata is almost like in Italy and the pizza is delicious.
Pinza is a meal similar to pizza, but the tortilla is consisted of barley, oats and millet. The rest of the dish is very similar to standard pizzas.
I may say the taste is quite good and the pinza-base is crunchier than a pizza.
The restaurant is very busy, so you have to do a reservation first, no matter the time of the day.
Amazing Pepperoni pinza and the Nutella Pinza is also highly recommended. We were in Moscow for 5 days and we loved this place so much, we ate there 3 times. Would definitely eat there again whenever i am visiting Moscow.

Nestled in a nondescript block of old flats, Kvartira 44 is a charming restaurant that exudes an old-world ambiance. Super cozy place! Good food and live music too! Not sure if that's so every day, but we've been enjoying some quality piano pop song renditions. Unexpected, but welcome. The pianist was playing chess while playing too! What a guy! Also, the cat wants hugs.
Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely visit again.

This place is kind of hidden, but definitely worth a visit. Feels like you're in the living room of a friend's house. I had falafel and loved it! Nice variety of drinks too.
It's a great place to go! There's live music (piano), the menu is simple but the food tasty and not too expensive (4,000r) for 4 people. The staff is really friendly and the decoration just great.

Really nice place in the quieter area of Moscow. Veranda seating available and there was a guy playing piano all evening long, really lovely tunes that set the atmosphere just right. Blues, mulled wine and tasty fresh food made it an enjoyable break from festive siteseeing on a cold December evening. This is a really really good restaurant, the place is modern and beautifully decorated, kitchen is open and service is excellent and fast. The food we ordered surpassed our expectations. Also, the portions were quite big, some customers will appreciate that. I recommend the pizza and the burrata, plates I ordered. The menu is adequately priced.

Nice park with traditional Moscow views to Kremlin and river. The main thing witch brings people there to make a picture is the triangle Bridge 🌉 which goes till the river and goes back. And the huge open roof made with glass.
The park is a nice location from red square around 200 meters and the right site history place with many old churches and king palaces. The bridge are interesting, you can see nice view of the Moscow river, Kremlin, Huge Stalin Building and more...

Located in a classical building, The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow is a treasure trove of art and history. Established in 1912 and later named after renowned poet Alexander Pushkin, the museum boasts an extensive collection spanning from ancient to modern times. Visitors can explore artifacts from Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome as well as European paintings ranging from the 7th to 18th century.
Great collection in one place, well technically two buildings next door to each other. Great sculpture collection...and they all clearly say they're plaster casts, so the museum isn't trying to trick anyone. Make sure you get a ticket for both buildings, the European artist collection in the gallery next to the main building is one if the best I've seen. Oh and dont forget to get a ticket for any travelling exhibits, there was a Picasso one when u visited, I couldn't believe my luck. Also dont miss out on the Cathedral of Christ the saviour, directly across the road.

To visit the museum you have to buy tickets in advance on the museum's website. There are available time slots with steps of 15 min between them.
The main building contents a large collection of copies of the famous sculptures by their epochs.
There in museum it is allowed to make the pictures and to sketch with a charcoal on a paper sized no more than A4.
If you choose not crowded day, it is a calm place to explore and sketch the items.
Painting exposition in the main building is quite boring. There are no any special art examples. Nice Egypt and Mesopotamia halls. Beautiful sculpture hall. Sometimes there can be good temporary exhibitions, like Bill Viola in the first half of 2021.
It was a nice to go here even though I got rejected with my EU Vaccination certificate at the first time. They don’t accept European vaccines. Please bring a PCR test with you to enjoy this museum. It’s a great place to go to when visiting Moscow during pandemic.
This museum is rich in art and the architecture of the building. It's not gigantic, but you will get to travel through ancient greece and 15th - 16th century art. Many of which are reproductions (statues) molden on the originals. If you forget about the facy they are reproductions and you spend some time looking at the art and the yeats when they were actually made, you will be pleasantly surprised to find out that the srill date multiple centuries ago and deserve just as much respect.
Got the chance to view original study drawings that inspired bigger pieces and it's very inspiring. Seeing the process and the approach of these masters of art when they were in search of perfection is truly worth your time.
I enjoyed analyzing these different drawings, the strokes and the details which came to eventually create some of the world renowed pieces we came to all know.
The museum is quite compact and takes 2-3 hours to see. But not be tricked by its modest size, the collection is really gorgeous, especially Schukin exhibition. I was so amazed how the man managed to collect so many masterpieces in his lifetime
In my opinion the place is must to visit in Moscow
The London School Exhibit was amazing. I have no words to describe the level of excitement of seeing the work of Lucius Freud and Francis Bacon. The museum in general has a interesting selection of works from bizantine art, Italian and Germanic Renaissance. It also has a display of egipcian and Greek artifacts. What is special about this museum is that some of the rooms have thematic decors related to the exhibit.

Time has to be invested for a good visit of this museum, since it holds a lot of art pieces that deserve such time. Sculptures, ceramics, and paintings make up the main part of the exhibition.
A great fine arts museum, since Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and Rome art to Botticelli’s paintings. Some masterpieces: Rembrandt, Veronese, Botticelli, Rubens, Degas, Matisse, Miró, and many others are found here.
Imagine seeing Impressionists one-on-one: almost private setting without selfie-making tourist crowds. In modern times you have to go to Moscow to experience that. Beautiful collection, well laid out, well explained (great curator work). Russian Impressionists were a revelation. Very enjoyable visit.

I’ve just been there to watch Marco Spada ballet. Everything was fine, I could easily buy a ticket on spot a day before the show and the woman could speak English very well so it was convenient. The theater itself is very unique and beautiful, the show was very good. Staff were friendly and tried to help me which I appreciate. The only problem I had and that’s why I’m not giving it a 5 star was the uncomfortable chair. For a 3 hour show and for about 10000 RUB money I paid for the ticket, I expect to sit on a comfortable chair, the back was solid wood and it was really irritating. I hope they do something about these chairs.
Visited more than 200 times but I prefer new stage next to historical stage. Very easy to enjoy the ballet more! You can buy ticket one or two months in advance online woth Russian credit cards since 2022.
They rent binoculars for the performance, but I recommend bringing your own if you can. Tickets are on the pricier side for Russia, you're partly paying for the prestige of the theater. In other cities, you can often see great ballet for much less.
Did not get the opportunity to watch theatre here but just saw the theatre and that itself was surreal. The theatre is simply magnificent - a truly majestic masterpiece and a must see when in Moscow.
Infront of these theatre has a lovely park to see and visit, sadly it was summer season when i visited and no events available to see.
I only gave it two starts because the play was absolutely phenomenal. Art deserved to be appreciated. However, I was cheated on the amount I have paid when I have received a ticket that states an amount of 20k rubel (which I have paid 29k rubel). When I have asked for a partial refund since this is not the deserved amount, they simply decided to blame the service fee (almost 155%). Beats me, can’t do anything since I’m only a tourist right?

A masterpiece of opulence and history, but also a test of patience. The Bolshoi Theatre is breathtaking—ornate interiors, world-class performances, and that undeniable grandeur of Russian ballet and opera. But be prepared: the ticketing process can be a maze, staff aren’t exactly overflowing with warmth, and if you’re in the cheaper seats, expect some “creative” sightlines. Still, once the curtain rises, all is forgiven. An absolute must-visit, even if just to say you’ve been.

Lovely restaurant in the top floor of a famous shopping store. The staff was polite and accommodating. The pelmeni was delicious. The honey cake was delicious but made in a different way. There was a bit more cream. It was lovely and light. The music was a bit loud for me. Other than that, I enjoyed my lunch. Absolutely recommended.

This is a nice place on the highest level of TSUM department store. The menu is rather big, you can try good-quality food in every section (appetizers, main dishes and desserts). They also offer breakfasts in the morning: eggs options, porridges, pastry, dishes made with milk and other food. Really tasty food, portions are big.

One of my favourite restaurant in Moscow. The most welcoming stuff have professional behaviour. Form the atmosphere vibe the restaurant have beautiful vibe I love it. And the food as a foodie person I love it so much specially the egg Benedict they have unique one.
The staff were so rude. And almost all of them were either talking to each other or using their phones. We had to wait for 15 mins for someone to come to take our order even though the restaurant was almost empty of customers.The only polite staff member was the guy taking our jackets he was so nice to us. Service: it’s alright, some staff are very friendly and had one occasion where the waiter was quite arrogant. But after all you are the waiter if you’re waiting for a waiter;) BUT!!! If you have any dietary restrictions/allergies/etc the restaurant is very willing to accommodate (even the most picky eaters!!)
Nice upscale diner. Don't let the outside fool you (when I went, the exterior at the elevator was just blank white walls; looked like construction). The interior decor of the restaurant is very nice.
We only went for coffee. The Raf Vanilla (a Russian coffee like a creamy cappuccino) is fantastic.
We told them we didn't have much time because we were going to the theatre. They made the drinks and brought our bill promptly. Much appreciated!

Absolutely love this place! A family favorite. The food is super affordable and AMAZING. Truly tasty. The waiters are friendly, though don’t speak English - lucky enough for my family that we all speak Russian. Service is quick and they recommend lovely dishes too. Drinks are also 10/10, if you can, try the kompot.
We ate soup (Solyanka and Chicken noodle) and two kinds of pelmeni. Everything was top quality and very delicious. In comparison with other "more touristy" places this one is really much better (saying that as a person who cooks the same dishes at home). Georgian wine was exquisite as well.

I stayed in this wonderful hotel for 6 days. Starting from its location, rooms, breakfast menu, and all related services; everything was excellent.
Above all, the hotel management remained very helpful in booking and purchasing our train tickets and hotel bookings at St. Petersburg.
Hotel staff is polite, responsive, and indeed very helpful. They even accommodated us for storing our luggage for 5 days at no extra cost.
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel, for which I am grateful to hotel management. A wonderful experience indeed. Keep up the great work.

Rooms are so old but they keep it clean. Also, the view from the river-sided rooms is amazing. However, be careful of the adapter they will charge you if you use it even if you return it to them. The service is abysmal, they need courses on friendliness and hospitality especially the reception. And the smell when you go inside the hotel’s hallway is awful. It always smells like onion.

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow in March 2025, and I wanted to share my sincere appreciation for a truly exceptional experience.
The hotel is in a prime location with stunning views over Red Square, and the room size was very generous and comfortable. But what truly made my stay memorable was the outstanding service from every team member I encountered—from the doormen and front desk team, to the restaurant staff, housekeeping, and bar team. Every interaction was warm, professional, and thoughtful.
A special moment I’ll never forget: on the day of my departure, I was headed to Saint Petersburg by train when I realized I had left my briefcase in the lobby. I immediately called the hotel, and the team had already secured it for me. When I returned, everything was perfectly intact. Their honesty and care meant so much.
I would especially like to thank Helen Gobonova for assisting me with the lost item, and give a very special thank you to Maria Gridneva, whose kindness and support stood out throughout my entire stay. The location is fabulous, you can see the Kremlin and Vasili Blazenjev church from most of the rooms. By the way, they are a little bit small. Servicse was good, Breakfast not with a great variety but excellent quality and service was fast and very polite and helpful. The prices are high, but what you usuually bay for a hotel is 3 things : location, location, location. It is an excellent choice if you really want to stay at the heart of Moscow, especially during New Years Eve (Novi God) and other special occasions.It is worth the cost.

Located in Moscow, the Moscow Zoo is a conservation and educational institute that houses over 8,000 animals from around the world. Initially established as a small park with only 286 mammal species in the mid-19th century, it has since grown into one of Europe's most visited zoos and Russia's top zoo destination. The diverse collection includes gorillas, polar bears, elephants, white whales, pandas, Siberian tigers, and giraffes among others.
Amazing well-planned out zoo. A great variety of animals, there were playgrounds for the children, and numerous food stalls. There’s a map of the zoo at the entrance displaying the Old and New Territories of the zoo. If you want to see everything, plan 2.5-3hrs without rushing.

A wonderful zoo. It is simply huge. Plan what you want to see right away, because it is not possible to see everything in one day. I strongly recommend coming as early as possible, because closer to the middle of the day a huge crowd of visitors appears in the park and it becomes really difficult. In general, the park is simply wonderful, large. There are many animals, they are well-groomed and cool. The enclosures are spacious and comfortable for animals. One of the best places to visit in Moscow.

We recently visited the Moscow Zoo, and while it was a pleasant experience, it felt quite basic, similar to the Old Zoo Park in Dubai. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Timing Matters: It's better to visit on a weekday. We went on a weekend, and it was extremely busy and crowded. We had to wait in line for tickets and at the entrance for 45 minutes. The crowd inside made it difficult for the kids to see many animals.
- Language Barrier: The staff do not speak English, so it's helpful to have a translation app ready.

My visit was on the weekdays at I had to wait for 30 minutes just to get the tickets and another 20 minutes to enter the zoo. It was crowded, and for a tourist like me, there were no English signs, only Russian signs. They will not consider 3 years old child or below for a ticket. So we bought 3 tickets which cost around 2700 ruble. Not expensive. I wish if it was a little bit organised.

We visited Moscow (from Germany) early April and stayed at the Radisson Slavanskaya Hotel. This shopping center was nearby and became our "2nd home" for 10 days. Whether it was for changing money, going shopping, going out to eat or for a drink - you find everything here. This place is clean, modern, an eye catcher!

There are restrooms all over the place, as well as a large play area for kids. Once you pass the main museum there are many scenic paths to walk on to reach other areas of the park. In springtime there are lots of colorful flowers and the trees are big and green.
Come here with the whole family for the whole day. There are lots of food spots serving many classic Russian foods. Coffee shops and ice cream spots are also here.

The Russian memorial park is a unique place. There is a beautiful museum inside which is a MUST SEE. Don't forget to get inside the main hall with the great statue as once in a few minutes it becomes a magnificent theatre presenting you a very impressive show about the 2ww. Also I recommend buying the 400 rural ticket and not the 300. As it gives you enter the authentic planes and arms area.
Impressive park with several war monuments as well as a beautiful tower and a surrounding building housing a museum. The museum was relatively cheap and worth the visit with many related items and reconstruction of pivotal scenes of the war. It's pretty close to a metro station and other interesting sites as well... there's a nice view overlooking the city too!
If you're interested in WWII, then this is a must-see. Great exhibitions, not all items have English texts, but a seriously impressive museum dedicated mostly to the Soviet participation but also detailing parts of the Allies' efforts.
It was pretty amazing to see such a remarkable site dedicated to the struggle, suffering and tremendous victory of Soviet People and allies!!! Although we have learned a lot about it and my country has suffered a great in the WW II one tend to forget some hard facts! Hopefully never again!!! Museum has two parts, museum building which leads you through the most important battles which are depicted with marveles diorems, from Stalingrad to Berlin. Exhibits from civilian life to soliders equipment, allies and enemies, life before and after the war. Second part is museum in open consistent of war mashinery on ground, sea and air, Soviet, allies and enemy. It is pretty huge so if going with children would recommend two days for the outdoor part is perfect as a playground. For sure something worth visiting regardless of political views! Most of descriptions are on English as well, but could be bit better and this is my only remark!
