Hostel
Godzillas is a vibrant hostel in Moscow that offers colorful dorms and private rooms, along with free Wi-Fi, shared kitchens, and a lounge. It's known for its social atmosphere and is popular among solo travelers looking to connect with others. As the first independent hostel in Moscow, Godzillas has garnered attention from publications like The New York Times and Newsweek. Guests appreciate its English-speaking staff, proximity to the city center, cleanliness, and affordability.
We stayed in a twin room and then one of the mixed dorms here at the start of our Trans Siberian trip to Beijing. It was a decent little hostel. Nice clean showers, plenty of toilets, a kitchen and clean bedding. It was also nice and warm which is useful in Moscow! Also had a good little common area with TV and tonnes of films to watch. Would recommend.
Gorg D — Google review
I stayed here as part of the Vodka Train trip through Russia. The facilities are perfect and the hostel is clean & well looked after. In winter the steps can be a bit dangerous with all the ice/water so just be careful. The staff were really friendly and spoke English. Its a short walk to the Kremlin and to the local metro stations.
Richard H — Google review
A lovely little place to stay, centrally located and within easy reach of the airport. The kitchen was fully equipped but the shower cubicles were made out of flimsy plastic which felt like they were about to fall apart everytime you shut the door. On the plus side guests are welcome to help themselves to FREE unlimited tea and coffee but I would strongly advise against using their shuttle/taxi service to and from the airport as they charge triple the price as uber or yandex. The staff were very helpful and went out their way to help us 😊.
Sheikh A — Google review
4/5 stars. I compare this with Western Hostels, however compared with other Eastern Europe and Russian Hostels I have stayed in it is a clear 5 Star. The staff were excellent, kind, providing a free tour and traditional Russian food. If your Russian isn't too good, you should stay here.
George R — Google review
Not sure why some people say that this is he best hostel. The WiFi is good and the staff speaks English really well but like the walls and ceiling looks grime in some places. Only one toilet and shower on each floor and to get the shower you need to walk through the kitchen. During the World Cup this place cost me around 10 500 rubels for three nights...so expensive for a hostel.
Adam L — Google review
Godzilla Hostel in Moscow is one of the best hostel I have stayed in through my travels. The staff were friendly, especially the receptionist Julianna, and the different facilities of the hostel were in great condition. And the hostel had a great location. I would definitely recommend it!
Simon P — Google review
Godzilla's has been my ' home from home' in Moscow for over 10 years...and numerous visits. It set, and still maintains, high standards. Clean, well organized and with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great location, too !

Hostel
Vinegret Hostel is a budget-friendly accommodation located in the heart of Moscow, just 2.1 km from GUM and a short walk from Red Square. The hostel offers simple dorms and private rooms, featuring modern amenities such as individual safe boxes and privacy curtains for each bed. While the lively atmosphere of Arbat street can be noisy in the evenings, the hostel's central location provides easy access to nearby shops and markets.
I booked another hostel the night before and had terrible experience there and then I booked Vinegret hostel. It's in the most popular street of Moscow and the hostel itself is in great condition! Safebox, kitchen, showers all in very good condition and clean super friendly and helpful staff! I'd definitely stay here if I happen to visit Moscow on low budget again.
Jasur H — Google review
Place is nice and clean but the staff is not very friendly. Don't expect to be able to use the common area if you arrive before check in or after check out. I arrived at 7am in the morning to drop my bags and just relax for a few seconds before going out to explore. The staff told me I have to leave within 5 minutes of my arrival. Not very nice especially since shops only start opening around 8am.
Nicolene T — Google review
[PO POLSKU PONIŻEJ] Overall it's a very good hostel with but with a few downsides. It's a clean and modern hostel with good prices but it's not for everyone since Arbat street is very loud in the evenings so it can be difficult to rest peacefully in your bed without some kind of earplugs. Of course that is the price for such an amazing location in the very heart of Moscow. Each bed has its curtains so there's plenty of privacy and each guest has own safe for valuables. The biggest downside is that there was literally no wifi signal in my room so whenever I needed to use the internet I had to go to the kitchen which was a little annoying. Their storage room is very small so they won't let you leave your bags after check out for free which is understandable but still it's a considerable con.
Gracjan W — Google review
The best hostel I went to and the cheapest. We were 4 girls together so they arranged a room for all of us to be at our ease. The breakfast was fine. The rooms and toilets were clean and on point
Fairouz B — Google review
I was in Moscow a year ago (Jul 2017) and stayed this hostel after New year (Jan 2018)for 5 days ;) very good located and convenient .it closer to KFC ,burger king and shopping ,exchange, tours, restaurant, night life I love to see ,weather cool! Coffee shop nearby was super cool, coffee+cake 99 rubble amazing ! Good for tourists
Nicky C — Google review
The best hostel you'll find at this price and location (Arbat street), better than a 5 stars hotel. Everything you need is nearby: minimarket, shops and good vibe. Clean rooms, comfortable mattresses including bed linen and a blanket, you can buy a towel and toiletries, low prices, clean showers with hot water. No alcohol is permitted therefore the hostel have a pleasant and quiet atmosphere. A guest area with a large TV and new sofas, a kitchen with microwave and refrigerator, kettle and kitchenware, no cooking. Coffee machines, cold drinks and snacks. Many spacious seating areas. There is a woman who cleans the hostel the best on a daily basis. In conclusion I recommend the best hostel I have been to. Receptionists Yekaterina and Katya are amazing!! Will help you with whatever you need (Julia less). Don't trust Google map for find it, its 60 meters left, between 2 shops "585" and "pandora".
Kruvi S — Google review
Very neat and clean hostel. I got my own cabin which could be closed off with a curtain. Our previous hostel did something wrong with the foreigner registration forms so other hostels did not accept us. For vinegret this was no problem and they fixed it for us.
Teun L — Google review
Brilliant hostel, very hygeinic. Staff speak good English (good for tourists) common area has a vending machine if you need food, drink etc .. they also sell towels, padlocks and all sorts at a fair price, this is good for travelers or just for people who forget things. I highly recommend staying here

Youth hostel
Guten Duck Moscow is a vibrant hostel with an industrial-style design, offering chic dorms, a guest kitchen, and a TV lounge. It is conveniently located within a 5-minute walk from Polkovodtsev Park and just a short drive from the famous Red Square. The hostel provides Wi-Fi throughout the property and private parking.
Strawberry duck were compact and clean. It’s a first class hostel renovated from a historic monument. One of the best hostels in Moscow. Clean, nice design, convenience, quality of service, enough space, usable kitchen, cool coworking space, friendly staff, safe, and perfect location. They offered free essential amenities: charging, lockable storage, shared bathrooms, towels. If you need slipper, you can buy it in front desk. I suggest you to bring / bought a rubber slipper from outside for bath. The hostel has professional washing and drying machines, 100 rubles for washing or drying. Staffs were nice and friendly. Fluent in English and are willing to help. One of the female staff, give me a hostel tour once I arrived. You can even keep your luggage for free after you check-out! The service is attentive - they will call a taxi for you if you need. And pay it in front desk. It's one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. I stayed here for a weeks in September 2019 and during these days I experienced comfort and safety. I stayed on female dorm in 3rd floor. They fulfilled my earlier request for lower bed. Each bunk has a socket, a lamp, a curtain and another cabinet with a number in which a large backpack can easily fit. Very clean, spacious, simple and pleasantly quiet room. Although crowded, the place is not noisy at all. The walls do not pass anything from the street or from the corridor. Lucky enough to have a nice and pleasant roommates from other cities and countries - one of them has been living there for a very long time. None of them is rude or loud. They respect each other in terms of privacy. Glad I got a new friends. The toilet and shower are regularly cleaned. Fyi, showers do not have doors which is common in Russia. But they do have plastic curtain in each showers. On my stay, toilet & showers in 3rd floor were under renovation. So I have to go down on 2nd floor for toilet and showers. It’s always queuing but it’s okay. Just have to know the perfect time to use it. It is ideally located - on a quiet street, situated very close to the center which is full of awesome places, supermarket, beautiful park, shops to grab some food and a vibrant neighborhood. The metro station is only a 5 minute walk. In terms of location it's perfect! You can take a walk to Chistye Prudy to sit in the park. I love this hostel and will certainly recommend. Great value for money. Would gladly to stay in this hostel next time, when passing through Moscow.
Mutia U — Google review
I stayed there for 4 nights. If you’re looking for a budget place, this is the best option. The main reason I booked this place is because they didn’t ask for prepayment as I couldn’t use my bank card from abroad so I paid in cash when I arrived. The location is great, only 20-25 min walk to Red Square. There are many supermarkets and restaurants around within few min walk. The rooms are clean. The kitchen area and bathrooms are clean. The cleaning ladies cleaning everywhere everyday. The staff are nice and try to help. The only problem I had was weak internet. The connection was very poor in my room. Everything else was fine.
Faranak G — Google review
They say there is private bathroom but there is not even sink in room. Bathroom shared with 3 cabins for 10-15 rooms. Private bathroom. For additional 100 rubles for 45 minutes. Kitchen is stinky and not clean. Only tea and hot water. Coffee is additional 100 rubl. Reception doesn't speak English and is not helpful, very rude. Only helpful person was Kazak Boy who has a big tattoo all over his hand. Thank to him for being so nice and helpful. All the corridors and the kitchen smell like bad food.
Leyla A — Google review
Very modern and clean with excellent facilities and helpful staff. However there are a few key issues that made the stay stressful. The main issue is the size. The kitchen was too small and always a bit hectic. The sinks always had dirty dishes left in them even though the staff made their best efforts to keep them clean, I assume due to people not having enough time to cleanup. There were insufficient showers. This is made more frustrating by the fact that there are many pay only private showers. One night I couldn't have a shower because they were all in use. The toilets were quite far away from our room. I can see this place has a lot of care and attention put into it but I feel it is a little to large for it's facilities. If the number of free showers could be increased and an extra kitchen added then it would be 5/5. If you are visiting here when it is quiet or you are not using the kitchen often then you will have an excellent time.
John G — Google review
Great hostel. Neat and nice interior. Clerks are all friendly and carrying out their job rapidly. Shower room also good, clean and has strong water pressure. Changing towel once per 5 days is only one sad thing.
CHEOL C — Google review
Three stars is a generous rating for a barely passable hostel. Those bathrooms that work are insufficient for the number of people, others have permanent 'out of order' sign. For a large floor of about 20 rooms, there are only 3 showers per gender, which means they are always busy and always unclean. Reception staff exhibit famous russian 'warmth', so you soon learn not to ask any questions because you'll be told to 'wait'. Internet is patchy, a problem that staff unable to solve. Kitchen is a dark dungeon that doesn't allow enough space to cook or to store food. Many guests make it their permanent home and spread all over the room, acting like they own the place and being inconsiderate to others, which makes for restless nights and tense encounters. I quite literally sought out ways to avoid coming back and most certainly wouldn't book again. Three stars are for location only.
Alex V — Google review
Very friendly, helpful staff. Great location with lots of great eateries. 15 minutes walk to Red Square. Nice and tidy and clean, but no natural light in the common areas, so a cave-like atmosphere.
Marion D — Google review
Very clean and well maintained. More like a hotel than a hostel, lots of Russians living there semi-permanently. I suggest getting room close to toilet if your prone to getting up in the night, its quite the hike from some of the rooms

Hostel
Napoleon Hostel Moscow is a vibrant and welcoming place that captures the essence of communal living in the heart of Russia's capital. With its bright dormitories, cozy TV lounge, lively bar, and serene garden, it offers a perfect blend of relaxation and social interaction. Guests can indulge in amenities like a sauna, spa therapy, and even karaoke for some fun-filled evenings.
If you're looking for a great Moscow experience then this is the place to stay. The staff are beautiful and fantastic (especially the manager Richard who always seems ready to have a good time) and the location is perfect. Moscow is a wild and dirty city and if you're ready for that then I recommend this place 100%. If you want a boring and quiet trip to Moscow then find a hotel, but if you want to meet fun people with a mixture of locals and travellers then Napoleon is perfect.
Kingsley D — Google review
One of the worst hostels I’ve ever stayed at. When we first checked in the hostel, it seemed ok. The owner seemed to be nice and friendly. However 2 days later it turned out to be the complete opposite. We woke up with all bites from bedbugs. We looked under the mattress and around the bed and it was full of bedbugs. Our whole body was very itchy. We complained and the owner didn’t seem to care much about it. We left after this, we tried to get our money back but he didn’t even refund us. If you read other reviews you’ll see that so many people have written about this. It’s a real issue and I hope they fix it so that people actually can have a good stay. I would absolutely not recommend this place.
NATALIA L — Google review
The holidays here were really nice. The rooms are cleaned everyday, which I did not expect for the really low price. There are free WLAN, towels, tea and coffee. In the shared fridge there is always enough space for your food. But what made my stay here were the people here, the guests as well as the personal. You meet people from everywhere around the globe and most of them are really nice. I loved to share some stories and beer with them. The personal is really motivated and speaks English perfectly. The only drawback was that there are only two showers, sometimes you have to wait a few minutes until you can get in. I would definitly come back if I was to visit Moscow again.
Martin K — Google review
The place of the hostel is great, just 10 minutes away from red square. The staff was friendly and there was always a person who answered questions. (even if their English wasn't the best) But I also have to critisize some points. At first the public area and the rooms weren't that clean. One shower was out of order. So we had to wait quite long in the morning. Furthermore we were in a room where some Russian guys stayed with us, who seemed to live there. They were horribly smelling and they didn't take care when someone was sleeping or wanted to sleep. On the last morning one of them arrived at 8 o'clock in the hostel, completely drunk and slept on the floor of our room. I would recommend the hostel to people who are looking for a central and cheap place in Moscow. But be prepared to meet some "special persons".
Emanuel F — Google review
If you value your sleep, you'll stay away from this hostel. Parties through the night. There are people living here semi-permanently with clothing and personal effects stored in the corridors. Staff were very unhelpful. There are better hostels a stones throw away if you don't want to party with 20 year old all night. It is very central though so it's got one good thing going for it.
Jan R — Google review
Friendly staff, good location in city-center and very socialable. Much guests from every direction. The kitchen isn't too big and it could have more showers/toilets for this size, but at last i will choose this hostel cause it's atmosphere again.
Michael N — Google review
I arrived there with a friend at 2 am and the receptionist gave us a plastic bag with the things we needed to make up the bags. We tried to be polite not turning on the lights, insted we turned the phone's lights on. Two guests got extremelly unhappy and one of them tried to push my friend. We went to the reception saying that we would like to cancel the booking but they said it was not possible cause they had already got the payment. We asked for a private room and slept scaried. On the second day we spent the hole day resting and, at night, we went out. When we arrived, after unlocking the door we found another guest we didn't know hidden inside the room's toilet. We called the receptionist, took pictures of the guy and checked his pockets. Inocentley we thought that it was fine just taking the guy out of the room, and our belongings were there. But, when we woke up the next day, we saw that the locked bag that had our money was damaged and our hole money wasn't there anymore. Furthermore, the speaker we had moved out of the bed before sleeping had disappeared as well. We feel like the guy that got into our room had the keys and stolen us when we were sleeping. After telling the daylight receptionist and seeing that he wasn't happy to help us we called the police. We lost 1000 dollars and lived in a very difficult situation for more 5 days travelling because our family could not send us money. Basically, we were stolen inside a private room by a guest that had free access to the room! By far the worst experience I've had after travelling around more than 20 countries and sleeping in dozens of hostels.

The location is very good. The staff spoke English and were friendly. The Yandex taxi driver had a hard time finding the hostel due to GPS issues, and I also had a hard time finding the hostel location on Yandex maps at first. The hostel is good overall. They provide free cereal and milk from 07:00 to 12:00, and it is in a very reasonable location within walking distance of Red Square. I don't think it is suitable for long-term stays. They never provided new bed covers, blankets, or towels during the few days I was in Moscow. In addition, shampoo, toothbrush, and toothpaste were not provided separately, so I had to use my own, and the shower room only had cold water and there were no fixtures, so there were some shortcomings in the facilities. Around 4 am, there are many people singing outside, and there is a club nearby, so it is noisy, but it was never so loud that it disturbed my sleep. It is better not to expect Wi-Fi.

I would have given it more than 5 stars if possible. I was supposed to stay there for only one night but ended up staying there for 8 days! The hostel is amazing. It is centrally located in Moscow, very clean and the staff is super super kind and helpful, I remember the names of Anastasia and Sabina and they are really helpful. The common area is very beautifully maintained with some good books that you can read. The kitchen is really big and they offer you a lot of free stuff as well that you can cook or eat. Location - 5 stars Staff - 5 stars Cleanliness- 5 stars (Restrooms are clean but can be improved just a little bit) Price - 5 stars (Comparing it to other hostels in Moscow of that quality)

Clean and nice beds. The name must be ironic because the staff seems to do anything they can to make the place miserable. Such a shame since it could have been a really great hostel in the perfect location. Edit after response: My review is first and foremost for other possible guests. I think you will see (also by the response here) that the good mood is more or less just in the name. Two specific points to the management: - smile - encourage guest interaction, don’t make rules to stop it. - say hello when people enters and goodbye when someone is leaving.

Safari Hostel is a lively and relaxed hostel located in the Tverskoy district of Moscow, approximately a 25-minute walk from GUM. The hostel offers bright dorms and private rooms with access to a common kitchen and a music space. While it doesn't have its own bar, guests are allowed to bring their own drinks. The atmosphere is energetic, making it one of the top party hostels in Moscow.
A really nice place to stay, with a 24 hours reception, a kitchen and fridges so you can keep your food and new friendly staff. The best place to stay during the Confederations cup. We have a Latin staff who can help you

Not the ideal hostel - office decor and no vibe. But it does have a good location. Smelly bathrooms, no curtains on the top bunks, really loud doors and locks so everything everyone does is loud, and a 300r surcharge if you bring your own alcohol. This means nobody drinks which is a mixed bag, I suppose. Too warm, no a/c and ineffective fans. Half the staff is really nice and the other half is really rude. There was construction going on while I was there that made being there from 9am-7pm unbearable. They do pick up the phone and speak English- a big pro: not everyone does. People definitely poached from my food basket in the fridge, but whatever maybe they needed that food more than me. I met someone who had their bag stolen from here a few days before I arrived. 10/10 would pay more to stay at a hotel next time seeing as how the main reason I had wanted to stay at a hostel was to meet fellow travelers and the scene here isn’t really conducive to that anyway.

Nice and lovely owners and a nice location to stay. The breakfast is a little bit basic. Some of the residence like to party, but after 22.00 it is mostly quite. The price is equal to the quality you get. If you need more luxury then take an other hostel/hotel.

BED BUGS. Absolute nightmare. DO NOT STAY HERE. (When we asked the staff whether they had had bed bugs before, they were not surprised, and they said they were never able to get rid of them.) Aside from the infestation, it was dirty, and the staff were not helpful.

Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast, snacks, and engaging walking tours. The hostel is highly regarded for its welcoming atmosphere and is particularly popular among solo travelers seeking a friendly environment to explore the Russian capital.
I stayed there in 2019 December. I have been running hostel business since 2005. Let me say that they are one if the best hosts i have met. Nice view from vindows and clean place. Breakfast is so interesting and delicious which you share with other people staying there. It all made my stay perfect. I hope to comeback again soon.

An apartment converted into a hostel and run by a lovely matron. It's perfect for a homely stay and is always a big party. It might get cramped at times, but that's by design as it feels like you're living with a big extended family. If that wasn't enough to sell you on the hostel, it's in the centre of the city and almost everything is close by. Pro-tip: Book early to avoid rush prices and say hello to the owner who's easy to spot as the most enigmatic and cheerful lady in the hostel at any point of time.

Great hostel. Very warm atmosphere and all of the staff are extremely helpful. I highly recommend this hostel and will return. The location is incredible and very easy to access all of the metro stations. Great nightlife not far as well.

Vagabond hostel one of the best hostel in my life. You will feel like your own house with great people . There will be always someone who can help you and have dinner together. Location of hostel is great. Super clean and helpful people . You can get extra information about city center, museums and unknown places.

Pretty good hostel, but it's quite hard to find since it's located on the 6th floor of an apartment complex and you have to search for the entrance. It is mainly a solo travellers place, since we were with a group of 8, it wasn't the best option for us. If you are looking for a peaceful place as a solo traveler, this is a great hostel for you.

ABSOLUTELY STELLAR! I cannot praise this place enough. Room was clean, all staff were welcoming, helpful, and polite. The owner is on site most every day and involved with guest and activities. Breakfast every morning, welcoming commons area, awesome shower for a hostel, and great advice on places to go. Location is right in the middle of everything. Met travellers from all over the world and most everyone was very friendly. I will always stay here when I visit.

Favorite place to stay in Moscow! The place give you so many great vibes! It's all about people who work and stay there, each of them is absolutely amazing. The hostel itself becomes one of the attractions of the city once you know about its existence. As for the general level of comfort - everything's clean and neat, beds are VERY comfortable, even though they might not give such an impression at first glance, breakfasts are tasty and creative (once again thanks to amazing staff), view from the windows and balconies is stunning. There're also small concerts on Friday nights (some friendly local small bands come to play live acoustic music) and yoga classes on some of the weekdays.

The location is also highlighted as convenient for exploring Moscow's attractions.
Very nice and quiet place! There are different opportunities to stay, so they have even room for women, some people stay there for a while. I was just a few days, but the best experians i ever head! At list there very nice people from different countries, always possible to find a good company.)) Other way - the best administrator ever!)) Really interesting people, attentive to your needs and helpful in any questions! We spend a lot of time just to share the stories!)) Family atmosphere))) At list there very clean (espacial for the bathroom and kitchen - which is very important for me), possible to left stuff in safe and do not worried about the time back (i like to walk a lot, so Moscow in the night-lights is amazing!). There is also playstation, but i don`t like it too much (prefer more books and movies, which is also possible to find there). So thank you guys, for the time in this house! Best wishes to you and hostel!)) My recomendation to all!

(Translated by Google) Worst hostel I've ever stayed in. The only plus: location. All attractions are within walking distance, but it’s better to be further from the center in comfort than in dirt and ruin next to the Kremlin. Before check-in, we left our suitcase in the “luggage room”. A room with the door wide open, where there is some kind of junk, street shoes and suitcases of the guests. Come in, take what you like and leave. Nobody is watching this. Upon arrival, we were given dirty rubber slippers (apparently the previous residents had forgotten), and also someone else's towels, small, old, either for the face or for the body. During their stay, no one ever changed them, because “we have 1 towel for 1 resident.” There is no cleanliness, there is hair, dust and dirt everywhere in the bathroom, an unpleasant smell. The hostel itself is shabby and falling apart. My husband and I rented a room for two for two nights. The room is a 2 by 2 box, where the entire space is occupied by a bed (mattress on a wooden stand), there is no closet, there are only hooks, dusty shelves with decor and a glass table. It is important that under the bed there is an impromptu “warehouse” for suitcases of other guests :) At 12 o’clock at night strangers are banging on our door with the words “I need to pick up my suitcase,” although no one warned us that this would happen, about this We didn't know the "warehouse". We were shocked. In response to questions, the administrator said, “Well, there was no free space in the storage room and people were checking in late, so I had to put it in with you.” There are no words. In addition to the tiny dirty room outside the window, there is a 24-hour construction site that makes it difficult to sleep. There was also a bar right below our room. It was impossible to exist with the window open (although it was very hot in the room): the sounds of construction, drunken screams, music, and the aromas of fumes and cigarettes made it impossible to sleep at all. The contingent living there, as well as the service staff, are very strange. It is clear that the employees live in this place (therefore, it is doubly incomprehensible how one can live in such filth and ruin). The administrator is dressed in home clothes and doesn’t care about anything at all, watching a TV series behind the counter. Payment for our room was made by transfer to Sberbank to some girl. I doubt that this organization even has a license. I don't understand the good reviews for the hostel. Just fall for them. It feels like they are screwed up, or people write reviews after 1 night in the hostel, not paying attention to anything. If you want to ruin your trip with accommodation where you will be disgusted to wash in the shower, sleep on the bed and worry about the fate of your things when you are not in your room, I recommend this hostel.

(Translated by Google) It was the most disgusting night of my life! Please, do not be fooled by the photos on the website and the tempting name “boutique hotel”. In real life, this is a shack with incredibly rickety beds, mold in the showers, stale sheets and a complete lack of any comfort. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a squat! It’s as if people came and inhabited abandoned apartments. The windows overlook the courtyard, where there are a bunch of bars and people scream until the morning without stopping! I had a significant incident when, near one of these bars, a firecracker exploded in a guy’s hand and a team of rescuers searched for his fingers right under our windows. I didn’t sleep all night, but dreamed of resting before a difficult work trip. A disgusting place where you have to push suitcases across flimsy wooden floors, because... There is also a large construction site nearby! I won't step there again!

(Translated by Google) I booked the hostel very early because I was going to the Moscow marathon. I arrived and there was a wild construction site outside the window 24/7. Instead of a room with a double bed, they offered a room with a bunk bed. They didn't have clean bed linen for the room I booked. The lobby stank of cigarettes. I looked at the room just in case. It was a total horror and there are no other words. Because there was construction going on there, the administrator offered us another hostel and allegedly booked a room for us there. When we got there, and navigators don't work in Moscow, it turned out that there were no rooms and couldn't be. Because of the large number of participants in the Moscow marathon, everything and everywhere was occupied. Many thanks to the employee of the hostel where they sent us. He spent an hour looking for places, called, found out and found us a room. But my condition was on the verge of despair. I don't recommend the Pasternak hostel to anyone.

Located in Moscow, Hostel Netizen offers a trendy industrial-chic setting with both dorms and private rooms. The hostel features a spacious lounge area with a 24/7 cafe/bar, making it an ideal spot for digital nomads seeking ample workspace and reliable wifi. The atmosphere is open and welcoming yet calm and quiet. While the dorms are clean but somewhat small, some have their own shower and toilet facilities. Private rooms with one or two double beds are also available.
Dorms are clean but a little bit small, some of dorms have Shower and Toilet themselves. Also there is some private rooms available with 1 or 2 double beds. you can buy Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks in the first floor(Lunch not Recomended), also there is a fridge (it was totally full by other guests) and Microwave and Hot Water available 24H/7 but there is no Gas Cooker, so it's not easy to cook there. but there is a really cool local Food Court and bazar nearby (Rogozhskiy st.) and you can ask receptions for it. The most important thing about this Hostel is location. it's Kinda close to Red Square (10min by car, 1:15 by foot) and there is Rimskaya Metro station a few meters far from the hostel) Totally, i loved the atmosphere and now, i'm planning for my next travel to moscow to this Hostel. Welcome to the Comedy Show Disguised as a Hotel! If you’re tired of boring vacations filled with kindness, professionalism, and basic human respect, then this hotel is exactly what you need. Forget about customer service — here you’ll get sarcasm, eye-rolls, and a free demonstration of how to ignore guests with Olympic-level skill. The star performer? A short-haired blonde staff member who should honestly change careers to theater, because her ability to deliver arrogance mixed with racism deserves a standing ovation. As an Asian guest, I got the full “special treatment”: sneers, dismissive gestures, and the kind of service you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. Need help with something? Perfect! They’ll refuse, ignore you completely, or make up hotel rules on the spot. It’s like improvisational comedy — except you’re the punchline. If humiliation and frustration are your idea of a good time, book a room here immediately. But if you value respect, competence, or even the tiniest shred of hospitality… do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else. One star — only because zero stars isn’t an option.

Stylish and well designed hostel with a great common area including a small sushi bar, working stations, game stations and a book & DVD corner. Rooms are clean and tidy. Shower rooms are kept nicely and you can do a self serviced laundry in the basement. Located next to a bank and some cafes, 3 min walk to metro. Highly recommended!
YK M — Google review
Over my 3-month stay I counted 3 disadvantages: * the rooms are super tiny and you get almost no private space (basically, just your bed, there are no even chairs or tables in the rooms) * the laundry is usually very busy and you have to wait to use it * there are no Velobike stations nearby. Other than that, this place is superb. Pros: room service (rooms get cleaned and bed sheets get changed regularly), super friendly staff, coworking area (with a publicly accessible computer), showers with shampoo dispensers, stable internet connection, location. Also, there are breakfasts where you pay 250₽ and eat as much as you want, and more conventional lunches/dinners in the lobby. On a scale from 1 to 5, this place is definitely at 5. On a scale from 1 to 10 it would probably be a 9.

- There were troubles with check-in (I had to change card key 2 times) - Elevator was on maintenance and nobody cared to stick a message about it. I stood and waited for elevator 5-10 min and other clients did so. - but main problem is air. There was no ventilation, and climate control is not working during winter. It's much fresher inside your hostel in summer and now we had to use a bucket to keep the door open for fresh air. I picked your hostel in june because in other hostels its smelly and stuffy, but yours is fresh so you can sleep well.

Very nice hostel, spent my graduation trip in Moscow and this was the place! Staff is very friendly and speaks enough english to communicate. A supermarket is nearby and it's right next to a central metro station. Hostel itself has nice equipment, showers and toilets are in the hallway and sometimes in the rooms too. Very clean as well! The walls appear to be pretty thick, we didn't hear other people but were quiet loud ourselves. Magazines and games are in the lobby and so is a space for laptops and work. Definitely recommend!

Makarov Hostel offers minimalist dorms and private rooms with river views and a shared kitchen. The hostel provides basic traveler needs at an affordable price, including comfortable beds with curtains for privacy, personal light, and electricity outlets. However, there are limited toilets on each floor, and the showers in the basement may be inconvenient for some guests. The location is convenient for exploring the city sights but lacks nearby restaurants.
After reading the reviews of this hostel I had pretty low expectations. But it was so cheap and in such a good location, so I went anyway. It turned out to be a fantastic decision because the hostel has everything a basic traveler needs. Cheap, A good kitchen, helpful service and being close to the city sights. The beds were comfy and the curtains helped for a good night sleep. They need more toilets... but apart from that absolutely excellent value for money.

I should say that the bathrooms are really dirty. Don't wait for hospitality etc. they are just money grabbers. Also, don't book online

This hostel is just for stealing money. We paid the reservation in full through the app. When we went to them, they asked for a lot of papers because we were foreigners, they literally need more documents than airports. When we contacted the university that was keeping the required papers, they told us that there is no need for all these documents, and that they only do that to expel you. Indeed, they took us out and did not return the reservation money to us. Despite this, the girl was kind of nice, but the man with narrow eyes in the reception center is racist and rude, damned after all. Once we went to another hostel and they didn't ask for anything but a passport

Cheap and comfortable enough if you travel with a group of kids. The location is great, it takes only 7 min to the Kremlin. The staff is friendly and polite. The laundry service is Ok. The kitchen has necessary appliances and some old utensils, but not enough for all the diners. Showers are always clogged.

In the bedroom you have your own electricity outlet, personal light and curtain for privacy. Is a bit difficult to climb if you are in the upper bed. Internet is pretty good. Location very good. I would recommend.

Room 13. The stairs on the bunkbeds were very uncomfortable to climb on, there is a big wall seperating the top bed making it hard to climb into. 2 of the 3 showers were not functional (there was a huge tear in the hose). There is mold growing on the ceiling in the men's showers. The ventilation shaft is full of dust (looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years). The rooms apart from the beds were fine and the staff was nice so 2 stars

The common bathroom only have shower curtain that could easily be removed, no lock door between each room. Other parts of the hostel are okay. Room Okay. Kichen have 2 micro wave 2 refrigerator, some cooking tools.

The hostel is good, staff was polite and (some of them) very helpful. The beds are comfortable and location is good, 5-7 min walk from the Red Square, the lack os restaurants around is a bit disappointing. The place seems clean. The one problem is the showers, they were VERY SMALL :(

Roof Hostel is a laid-back accommodation located in the Basmanny district, just 2.3 km from the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. The hostel offers basic rooms with shared kitchens and a lounge area. While there may be a language barrier, the friendly receptionists are helpful, and Google Translate can assist with communication. The hostel provides clean rooms and excellent common areas, making it suitable for short stays of 1-2 nights.
The receptionists are very friendly even though there is a slight language barrier but Google Translate helps easily. The only slight issue was that during our stay (first week of August) it was super hot and the fan in our room was not working properly but we understand that it was an exceptionally hot period for Moscow. The hostel location is great, rooms are clean and common area is excellent!
Avantika S — Google review
This is the worst experience I've ever had in my life. I regret my choice. Don't make this mistake. The receptionist is very rude, the rooms are boring and dirty. The bathroom smells very bad. Horrible!

A lot of stairs, lift only can be used with special key, so whenever you arrive you will have to do so by stairs. Key can be "rented" by leaving a deposit of 500 rubles which will be returned when you give back the key. Water runs out of the showers quickly. Nice kitchen / living room with TV. Very clean hostel. Perfect location Rooms without curtains, so bring a mask if you are sensitive to light.

Bad service but good location: Me and my friend stayed there last week. When we arrived, our beds were not ready and when we came back was still the same so we had to sleep with no sheets. It is too hot also in every room, they have bad ventilation. The woman in the night shift does not speak English and she was busy when other guests who were also complaining I believe. In the ground floor of the building, there is a dance club named Propaganda, so you won't rest well with all this sound outside. The only positive is the location, near to Red Square and Bolshoi Theater (15 min walking). Good look going there!
Google M — Google review
Good for short stay of 1~2 nights. Shared washrooms and separate for male and female. Also separate dormitory rooms for male and female. Kitchen is well equipped with all the necessary stuffs. For first time checkin you have to walk to 3rd floor. The elevator can only be accessed with a "special key" which you can get during checkin by depositing 500 rubles which is refundable.

There are some people of UZBEK 🇺🇿 nationality who live there permanently and are dedicated to stealing from customers, the cleaner is from Uzbekistan and is the one who collaborates and informs when she enters the rooms to clean ... Be very careful to stay here and have a bad experience

Nice place for the money they ask, especially the "de luxe" room with own bathroom. Noisy in the night though, walls are not soundproof and there are 2 nightclubs in the same building.

Hostel Boxtel offers a low-key accommodation experience with capsule-style beds, shared kitchen, and a lounge equipped with a TV and an Xbox. The hostel occupies an area of 180 sqm and features 7 private rooms. Guests appreciate the cleanliness and order maintained by the friendly and helpful staff. Amenities such as towels, dishes, slippers, refrigerator, shower, hair dryer are provided for a comfortable stay. Additionally, guests can purchase breakfast items at the reception.
Excellent hostel! Was there for 4 days. The owners and guests keep order and cleanliness. Very friendly and helpful staff - overall great service. The hotel provides everything you need for a comfortable staying: towels, dishes, slippers, refrigerator, shower, hair dryer and the list goes on. In general, even if you only have a passport with you, a comfortable stay will be provided. You can even buy coffee or tea with something sweet for breakfast right at the reception. The capsules themselves are clean and quite spacious, in good condition. There is ventilation inside, so it was neither hot nor cold even with the door closed. With great pleasure I will stay there again if possible. Thanks again to the staff for great service! Highly recommend this place!

It's nice. It's a bit loud because of other people, you can hear them walking around. But the price and location are perfect. It's also very clean. I stayed for 3 days and if you like sightseeing and be close to the center this is a very good place for you. The staff can speak English and they are very helpful. Even arranged a document for me which was very important.

Really nice hostel! Actually nicest one we stayed in Moscow! Although a little over priced. The capsules are very well maintained, ac in every capsule which really make it great! And extremely clean- which half the hostels in Moscow don’t care about. It was a little crowded for the amount of space but it was the worldcup when I stayed there.

Very clean. Only one dilemma that I had was y run the AC and water based room heating simultaneously. The downside very difficult to find. Needs better pinning on Google maps and directions. Also very little common space.

Hostel Ester House is a laid-back accommodation offering unpretentious dorms and private rooms. Each guest has their own designated space, ensuring a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The spacious lounge provides a cozy setting for reading or socializing. Despite the lack of a stove in the kitchen, it doesn't feel like a typical dormitory. Conveniently located near Prospect Mira, the hostel is within close proximity to public transportation options such as the metro and tram stations.
It’s a very good hostel near prospect Mira. Metro is just 500m away from the hostel and near tram station is just 200m away. Nearest metro station is prospect Mira. It’s some of the best places in Moscow because everything is nearby. The hostel staff is very nice and helpful. Hostel is very neat and clean. Washroom is clean most of the time and kitchen is also. There are so many washrooms so mostly you don’t have to wait. It’s a very good place to stay.
Shashank P — Google review
Overall this accommodation is good, and I say accommodation because this is not a hostel. A hostel is a place for travelers, not local workers and people on business trips. While the facilities are good, I find the lack of awareness of the people staying here as a deterrent to staying longer than a night. Sleeping areas are for sleeping, not taking phone calls, not doing things that one should do in a bathroom, not to mention the snoring and general Godzilla-destroys-Tokyo manner in which the inhabitants seem to move about the premises. No one seems to have a clue about how to conduct themselves in a shared sleeping space. It’s also 99% Russians here so if you are an int’l traveler you will not encounter any social atmosphere whatsoever. Forgive the salty attitude as it’s my second day running being woken up far too early by snoring Russian Godzilla door-slammers.

Artemy — Google review
(Translated by Google) I stayed with you a year and a half ago and was delighted. This time the negatives started to appear even before check-in. Firstly, your administrators do not respond either on Ostrovka or VK. Secondly, no one called to confirm the reservation. I called the hostel myself, having seen a review in which they wrote that they had come to check in, but there was no reservation, the person had to look for another place to spend the night. A sleepy administrator guy answered my call without introducing himself or saying the place I was calling, simply “Hello.” And when I said that I was actually worried about whether my place was reserved, and no one was answering me anywhere, an answer appeared on Ostrovok (2 weeks later, Karl). At the payment stage they wanted to charge me more than what was indicated in the booking application. The kitchen is wonderful, the showers are a bit dirty - the plumbing and shelves in the showers are stained and clearly not a day old. Two showers in the common area do not work, the shower in one of the women's showers does not work either, in fact, half of them are functioning. The room is stuffy. The shelf next to the bed was dirty, something had clearly been spilled and was not wiped off later. Well, the cherry on the cake, after which I will definitely not return to you, and which the administration should pay attention to if you care about your brainchild. I checked in early and went to bed on the way. I wake up around 13:00 from the loud conversations of the maids (swearing on the mat). They apparently thought that there was no one in the room, because I was sleeping behind the curtain, they couldn’t see me. I’m not quoting, but I’m trying to convey an excerpt of the conversation as closely as possible: “And you say - change, change,” one maid says to the other while she is remaking one of the beds, “Look, I slept normally. Don’t create extra work for me.” I can’t draw any conclusions from this conversation, except that this bed was left unmade, and some girl “slept normally” on someone’s dirty linen and didn’t notice anything. When I informed the administrator (the same guy) about this, he listened to me with a grin and replied: “good.” What's good?

Axel Hostel is a vibrant and centrally located accommodation in the heart of Moscow, just a short walk from the Red Square. The staff is known for being super friendly and helpful, especially with foreigners. The hostel offers clean facilities and includes breakfast. Nearby, there's an open-air theatre where locals gather in the evenings, as well as beautifully decorated bars and cafes along the lively street. It's also conveniently close to the metro and parks, making it a highly recommended option for travelers visiting Moscow.

Stay away! The hostel emailed me a day before my arrival date to ask if I was coming and i immediately replied yes. When I arrived they said they had already given my reserved bed away and I ended up sleeping at a bus station even though I showed them the reservation and email. They told me I had to reserve by phone - I’ve stayed in Moscow many times before and email always worked! When they finally got a bed for me the next day, they also refused to register my visa even though they legally need to! Do not ruin your trip by staying here!

We stayed there for three days in November and it was great. The staff is super friendly, they're speaking English and they help us with many small things that are a bit strange or confusing to us as foreigners. They're working really hard to keep the hostel clean and it totally shows. Hostel is located near the center, metro and the nearby parks are really nice, especially in the night! Would highly recommend it!

Clean linen and squeaky toilet, we had a great time staying for 3 nights at the Axel. The hostel is located in one of the most vibrant streets (better than Arbat Street I'd say) at the very heart of Moscow. One can walk to the Red Square in under 15 mins (that's how centrally located the place is!). Breakfast is included and Lev is resourceful. There's an open-air theatre nearby where locals bond in the evening. The street is lined by beautifully decorated bars and cafes.

Once I arrived by walking 20 minutes (not seven as they told me by phone) with my luggage, they made a crazy documents check, took my passport made pictures of it and sent the pictures to someone and then told me that they could not let me stay cause I didn't comply they requirements, which they didn't explain to me at all!!! Even when I had all in order, a valid visa, passport and registration. I suppose this place is just for local people who is looking for jobs or some kind of long stay place but definitely not for tourist who are visiting Russia or for people who will like to stay for one night and then continue travelling, which was my case. They staff were awful rude and disrespectful. Avoid places like this. Update* they wrote a reply to my review saying that my documents were not in order which is complete false. I did have all they required, and in fact I asked about the reason why they didn't let me stay and they didn't explain why, but the worse thing is that they didn't even try or care to be friendly, they were plain rude! So, like I wrote before, it's a place for local workers, not for tourist and travellers.

(Translated by Google) So I’m wondering - who writes rave reviews, who are you, people? If this is wow for you, then where have you stayed the night before? This is an ordinary bug! He owns 810 rubles. not worth it for a bed!!! The shower is behind a curtain, are you normal?! The towel is only small, there are no duvet covers, the bed linen itself is from Soviet times. There is nothing left of the pillows, and I’m also silent about the blanket. There are no lockers for personal belongings; there is a crammed closet in the common room, without a lock. The smell of food in the hostel is worse than in a factory canteen. At the same time, the kitchen is open from 7 to 23, i.e. If, for example, you leave before 7 am, you won’t even be able to pour boiling water. And the food will need to be taken out of the refrigerator in the evening and stored on the bed. It's good that the toilets are not open according to schedule. The beds are wooden, they creak, people sleep on top, and between you there are only wooden logs and you can see the top mattress. The walls near the bed are painted, but all are shabby. There are no teaspoons, everything is greasy and sticky, I could barely wash my mug. I stayed there for the night because I already wanted to relax and not far from the metro. In general, I don’t advise anyone to stay here, it’s better to pay extra and look for something more decent.

The rooms themselves are quite cozy, clean, without any unpleasant odors, damp spots, etc. Moderate temperature. There are dark curtains. The shower is great. There was only one thing I didn't like: The mattresses in the bed, although seemingly orthopedic, are too soft and flexible, and you can often feel the springs with your whole body. Overall I found the hostel to be excellent value in the heart of Moscow, it is convenient that there is a 24 hour supermarket in front of the building. Couple of minor things, the dryer doesn't work at the time of writing, you have to take your shoes off for cleanliness which is good but a chair would be nice for putting on/taking off, I earplugged up but I think the doorbell rings a lot of the night. I enjoyed my stay and I really enjoyed the artwork around the place, good character.

+ This is actually a good place, i love the living room the most. - experienced not so comfortable moment whenever inside bathroom or toilet, you'll hear someone checking at door, even if you wake up early than other, or in the afternoon when you thought the other guess are already went working.

(Translated by Google) Great hostel! The beds wobble and squeak, but with soul. One of the sockets was constantly sparking, some of the lockers no longer locked (there were no keys), and not all of them had shelves near the beds. 2 showers (one I never learned to close) and 2 toilets. Good breakfasts, friendly hostess, all sorts of nice little things, pleasant atmosphere, ideal location, a little strange guests, but I liked it.

(Translated by Google) You won't find anything better! The staff was spot on, all friendly and polite, they helped me with a personal request, suggested where it was best to go, and after checking out they allowed me to stay and leave my things until the evening! I travel often, but it’s rare that it’s this good! Breakfast is amazing! A small buffet, an omelette with turkey, prepared by the woman separately for each person, sponge cake, snacks, toast. All the dishes are there, there is a cooler-mineralizer.

Davydov Hostel is a relaxed 2-star accommodation located in the Arbat district, just 1.1 km from Pushkin Literary Museum. The hostel offers unfussy dorms and private rooms with amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, parking, and a cafe. Situated on Old Arbat street, it's conveniently close to the subway and within walking distance of the red square and the Kremlin. The hostel features a lounge, balcony, full kitchen, and multiple showers and bathrooms.
Nice hostel with comfortable beds. They provide a small basic breakfast for 100 rubels but there are plenty of restaurants nearby aswell. Good location, but not so easy to find (No outside sign or anything, it's between two restaurants). The balcony offers a beautiful view above Arbat Street.

The hostel is located on Old Arbat street about a kilometer and a half away from the red square and the Kremlin. It's very close to the subway, about two blocks, and the hostel itself has good service and is pretty decent. Amenities include a lounge, a balcony, a full kitchen, and several showers and bathrooms. Breakfast can be purchased, but is served at a nearby restaurant. The rooms themselves are nice and they have double (or single), for those who want privacy. Wi-Fi included. Robert, the manager, is a very nice guy and speaks fluent english.

(Translated by Google) The hostel is in an apartment, very modern, the showers are clean, the complaint about the format - the residents and the admins - is a whorehouse. It’s not so much a complaint about the excessive noise as about disorder; the guests are girls of the “glamorous pussies” category. Emphatically highlighting themselves and their exclusivity, seemingly friendly. in fact - complete discord. And the guys sticking to these “glamorous pussies.” This is not a hostel for ordinary / decent / business people, this is a club hangout where a normal person would feel a little out of place. Again, this is a hostel in an apartment. And such is the atmosphere there. Plus the high price tag - 850 rubles per stay. I don’t recommend it if you don’t want to feel like a black sheep. Lived in the spring of 2015 and at the end of the summer of 2016.

PAY ATTENTION, IT'S A SCAM!!!!!! We've booked a room there for the 30th of December 2017,saying that when we would arrive around 22h and asking if they could send us a taxi, to bring us from the airport to the hostel (service which is supposed they do, cause it's written in their website), they replied by email, after 2 weeks, that it was ok. First, taxi never came, than, when we arrived at the hostel, a very shady place, the reception was closed and around us there were just rude people, not just because they were drunk. They rejected us! Later we were lucky that we found other very kind Russian people who helped us to find a place, but I don't want someonelse give them money anymore for a service that they don't do. So, pay attention!

Hostel's location is good, closed to Metro and not far from Kremlin and other POIs. Staffs is great but room is not clean enought especially it's only 2 bathroom for 30 travellers, so you should get up in the early morning to avoid long queue. Kitchen room is around the lobby where a small area. However, the hostel price per night is very cheap.

A good place to sleep and to warm up in the cold weather. Very were located 5 minutes from the Kremlin. However, I stayed 2 nights there but I would not recommend for a longer stay, the common areas are small and are not very good for resting after a day of visit.

Unfortunately the Landkarte Hostel is the first Hostel I can Not recommend. First of all, the Hostel hasn't an Information on the Door. So finding the Hostel is a gambling. Some People are looking for the Hostel for hours. The rooms are clean and the Bed is Ok. But what you can expect is a friendly Service. Very unfriendly and Not helpfull. What me realy annois is, that they are so unprofessional, that the bill was wrong. So please Check in you stay in Landmark Hostel.

(Translated by Google) Used the hostel for the first time. I thought they would take everything away and rob it, but nothing like that :) It is located in the building of the Ministry of Cultural Development (or something like that). In order to open the door you need to click on a specific intercom number. I liked it. Pleasant staff who speak English and free tea. The only downside is that this is the city center (although this is even a plus), where sometimes renovation work is carried out, which interferes with sleep, but of course the Golden Apple guests will have more trouble (and that’s 5,000 rubles per room).

Standing in the heart of Moscow, surrounded by the stunning Saint Basil’s Cathedral, the Kremlin walls, and the State Historical Museum, felt like stepping into a living postcard. The architecture is breathtaking, especially at sunset when the lights make the whole square glow beautifully. Everything is so clean, organized, and well-maintained. Street performers, local cafes, and friendly people add to the lively vibe. It’s not just a tourist spot — it’s the soul of Russia, where the past and present meet. I would highly recommend everyone to visit Red Square at least once in their lifetime!

The square is very well maintained, and despite the number of visitors, everything felt organized and peaceful. It’s a must-see spot in Moscow, both during the day and at night when everything is beautifully lit. I really enjoyed my time there and would love to visit again. Highly recommended!

It is a very big place and the church is very beautiful. I am very impressed to have visited Russia. 👍🏻
Wanta C — Google review
It was 10 years ago. I was like any working-class repeating the same boring days as usual. Then the bloody church just kept occupying my mind. I decided to go there on Christmas in 2014. I really loved my decision. Russia is a must-visit country. The economy was bad in 2014, but that is good for tourist. I had few days meeting my Turkish lover in Santa Petersburg. I almost lost in the morning when I was looking for our rented apartment. Just a glance, he showed again in my vision again with a naughty smile that seems like laughing “Silly, I am hiding here .” I had great time. Russia is so beautiful at night, people like singing, and dancing. Beautiful women were wearing stockings in winter. Red Square, Moscow: A Timeless Icon Red Square in Moscow is one of the most iconic and historically significant landmarks in the world. It serves as the beating heart of Russia, steeped in a rich tapestry of political, cultural, and architectural history. Whether you’re a history buff, a lover of grand architecture, or just a curious traveler, Red Square offers an unforgettable experience. Architecture and Landmarks The square is surrounded by some of the most stunning structures in Russia: • St. Basil’s Cathedral: With its vibrant, candy-colored domes, the cathedral is a masterpiece of Russian architecture. Its whimsical design and historical significance make it the star attraction. • The Kremlin: Serving as the seat of Russian power, this fortified complex looms majestically over the square. The red-brick walls and intricate towers are a sight to behold. • Lenin’s Mausoleum: This somber yet fascinating structure houses the embalmed body of Vladimir Lenin, drawing visitors intrigued by its historical relevance. • GUM Department Store: Contrasting the austere Soviet history, this luxurious shopping arcade is a paradise for high-end retail therapy and culinary delights. Atmosphere The square is as awe-inspiring at dawn as it is illuminated at night. Its vastness, combined with the surrounding architectural grandeur, evokes a sense of both wonder and reflection. Whether bustling with tourists or hosting grand celebrations like Victory Day, Red Square never feels short of life. Cultural and Historical Significance Red Square is not just a place to see; it’s a place to feel. From its role in Tsarist ceremonies to Soviet parades and modern-day events, it has witnessed the evolution of Russia.
Aitana B — Google review
The Red Square is located in the heart of Moscow. It is one of the most important historical and cultural sites in Russia. Built in the 15th century. This square is one of the grandest in the world. I came here a few times and I am always really impressed by the grandeur and the architecture. You can see St. Basil's Cathedral with its fabulous domes, Lenin's Mausoleum, and the Kremlin, the seat of the Russian government. I love this place it is beautiful!

Uilliams is a trendy cafe in Moscow that offers a modern twist on classic breakfast dishes, making it a perfect spot for those who love to capture their meals for social media. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, the flagship breakfast is definitely worth indulging in. Guests can savor options like sesame bagels with creamy hummus or succulent smoked salmon served with yogurt and berries. The menu also features perfectly poached eggs atop spinach and Hollandaise sauce.
This cozy cafe was a great find. The coffee was smooth and rich, just the way I like it. I tried the omelette with truffles, and it was delicious—full of great flavor. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing morning. The service was excellent, friendly, and quick. A perfect spot for a tasty breakfast and good coffee.

It's a nice place for the ambiance, but the food is very mid range and the wine is really not great. If you take a glass of Pinot Griego, you will be very dissappointed. But the spend a nice relaxing evening, it will be great. Slightly over priced compared to other restaurants. But you end up paying for the location just because it's honeslty beautiful looking.

In Moscow, there's a top-notch restaurant that offers an exceptional dining experience. The staff is warm and inviting, and the wine selection is impressive. The menu features delectable dishes like beef tartare, squid, duck, and lamb that are flawlessly prepared. The desserts are particularly delightful. Additionally, there's a gastropub with friendly staff serving great food and delicious cider. Despite being affordable, the quality of the food remains uncompromised.
Tasty and well cooked food. Cheap, but it does not affect the quality of the dish. Desserts are a special delight! Friendly atmosphere.

I read reviews online, good and bad. I decided to try this place. I was communicating with the management for 2 hours . They invited me to come there and promised to accommodate me. When i eventually arrived, i was told there was no chance of seating or eating there. This is unacceptable. I am a chef in London and this would not happen there. We manage our restaurants properly. I have no idea what the food is like in Moments, but i warn people..... if you want to go here, prepare to be disappointed and treated with disrespect . Just because this place is popular, it has given the management and staff no reason to care for potential customers. I would not try this place again after this bad experience. There are hundreds more, better managed places to eat in Moscow. I recommend you try these before wasting your valuable time on Moments

Art Moscow is a contemporary hotel that has recently undergone renovations, showcasing modern rooms and a stylish lobby. Guests can enjoy a delightful breakfast buffet each morning, complete with excellent coffee and the option for delicious omelets. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for travelers seeking comfort without breaking the bank. While it’s conveniently located near a metro station and shopping center, be prepared for busy mornings as tourist crowds can sometimes overwhelm the breakfast area.
My wife cheated on me here as well and I'm only just realising that's where I got the std from and now I'm even more mad about who she cheated on me with. I can't believe she didn't test for one and just carelessly gave me another. In general the place was very lovely though. Great service!
Cowdragom — Google review
The hotel lobby is spacious. Breakfast is very good. It has many traditional Russian dishes as well as international. Rooms however are small and room service is very bad. We complained about our room but the only action the hotel took was to send us some fruits. The hotel is far from the city and tourist attractions. And the surrounding area is not walkable. Most of the time they don’t have many of the dishes in the menu at night.
Hamdah S — Google review
+ Amazing hotel! Not expensive! Really clean! Comfortable! Warm in the winter! Not too far away from metro station, and there is a shopping centre nearby. The food is amazing and it doesn't cost much. Staff is really polite and helpful. Easy access. I highly recommend it if you wish to have amazing quality for acceptable prices! - the shower sometimes leaks, so you'll need to clean the water after using it. And the sound isolation is not so good, so you'll hear other people next to your room and they will hear you. But this is not a big issue since many other hotels have the same situation, and for me it never represents a big problem. All in all, I highly recommend this place! And I will definitely visit it again!

Hotel was very good. I got a studio room with a kitchen and it was very convenient. Staff were very nice and helpful. Prices are reasonable. Location midway to city centre and there is metropolis mall few minutes by walk near to hotel. Next to it also metro station. The breakfast was fairly good. They provide in-room coffee, tea and water refilled daily.

A bad hotel. I do not advise anyone to deal with them. They have a fraudulent style and bad employees. They do not have a style. The receptionist hangs up while you are talking. A failed hotel. I do not advise anyone.

It is strange. Something made me feel uneasy. First room is not ready(no linens, no amenities). Second room is not ready too.The speaker on the ceiling always sound noises. The lamp shades are tiltied. The toilet paper is few in stock. The sewing set was opend. The road from metro station is so dark and long. And, they charged twice to my credit card. I not reccomend this hotel. Don't judge by appearance, stars and prices.

The best place in Moscow. Amazing star-worthy food by an excellent chef, beautiful interior with a huge library, excellent drinks selection and the best example of world-class music. Some of the best parties you will ever experience. Very cool crowd too.

Community could end up with a 5 stars but after waiting 40 minutes for our first drink and being told to move to a table we would have to share with 3 beautiful young ladies when our plan was just to enjoy ourselves with our daughter, and despite the fact that we booked a separate table, I was getting really annoyed. And to finally see that our table remained unoccupied for the all evening . Sorry.this is rather discrimination or bad service. I would suggest that they pay more attention to their clients.

Good food, nice list of snacks, dim-sums etc. to share in a company. Great coctails! Try something with lavender and dried pomegranate seeeds! Very Nice place, we spend around 12 days in Moscow in 4 different places including hostels, and this one was one of the best. The facilities are design and build for a hostel, the beds are each one in a separate "furniture" with curtain, light and plugs. the shared bathrooms are plenty and clean, nice space for the kitchen and social area.

He hostel's staff are very friendly and helpful, the prices are great, and the location is superb. Positives: - friendly and helpful staff, - competent English - great location - cheap prices. - free coffee / tea /towels / tooth brush /soap Negatives: - one kitchen for over 40 people - rooms close to kitchen (expect lots of noise) - toilets and showers tiny ( I literally had to stand outside of the toilet whilst peeing) - cleaners start cleaning during breakfast so the whole place stinks of chlorine bleach while you have your food) - no common room to chill out - kitchen supplies very basic
Frank G — Google review
Very cool hostel in a really nice part of Moscow. Super close to everything you need/want. The staff were all very professional and despite what I've read all spoke competent English. Music being played in the bathrooms and corridors was very cool- also the random movie posters were fun to look at. Only four stars as our room was a bit of a funny shape being on the top floor.

Most of the staff speaks good English and can help you with everything

The property boasts a quiet location with easy access to nearby attractions, featuring fully equipped kitchens, comfortable beds with convenient sockets and lamps. Guests can enjoy affordable rates for accommodation in clean rooms and lobby areas.
(Translated by Google) I read a lot of reviews and was very worried: the hostel has already been paid for, the money cannot be returned, and the reviews are terrible (from a little lack of windows, bedbugs, cockroaches, terrible smell, stuffiness, disgusting treatment from the administration) EVERYTHING THAT WAS JUST LISTED IS AN ABSOLUTE LIE! The most beautiful woman administrator, spacious room with a clean beautiful bed and a large window. The shower and toilet area is always clean, it smells of bleach, I wouldn’t be afraid to wash my child there. Kitchen, dining area, cozy decor. We have only positive memories, we will definitely stay here next time!

Convenient and cheap price for sleeping. The bed is skeleton under matrix and the springs are felt into your body. Room, rest room and loby are all clean. Room pay is nicely low and good.

The location is good and also it's budget accommodation almost close the Moscow central circle. The trams stop is just a few meters away from the hostel. There is some language barriers regarding English language here but the friendly staff with mixture of some body language are very helpful.

(Translated by Google) Terrible. You will be greeted by the rude administrator Tatyana (overweight with glasses). This administrator refused to provide new bed linen and towels, although they had not been changed for 2 weeks, so if you want to sleep on a dirty bed, then this is the hostel for you. The toilets and showers look terrible and there is often no hot water. They populate all sorts of foreigners. I heard from other guests that things are constantly stolen in this hostel (Original) Ужасно.
Alags — Google review
(Translated by Google) We lived in room 16, a separate room on the 3rd floor. There was nothing to breathe, the smell of dampness was everywhere. Everything was shabby, the ceiling was all in stains. It was raining, water was running down the wall. The common areas were also not clean, not tidy. It was unpleasant to be there. The administrator was unfriendly. In addition, someone stole a couple of items from a bag of groceries that was in the common refrigerator.
Google review
(Translated by Google) Quite a stylish and atmospheric hostel on 3 floors. Cool bed with a stole, mirror, wardrobe, TV. There is a kitchen on the floor. Cons - bad mattress (you literally sleep on springs). Dirty floor (although it is constantly washed). The solution to the problem is to provide slippers at the entrance. Because shoe covers do not save. Toilet and shower in one visit are 1 m * 1 m, where it is also dirty (remember the shoe covers from which everything leaks). There is almost no hot water in the shower. Changing accounts for one night is possible and pleasant. But living while traveling is difficult for neat people.
Google review
(Translated by Google) The rooms are very small, and they are so stuffy that it is even impossible to sleep. The shower only works on one floor out of three and there is no particular desire to go there. There are no declared amenities. There is absolutely no sound insulation, you can hear everything that happens in other rooms and the corridor, and therefore the noise does not change almost around the clock. There is no air conditioning, the ventilation is terrible, and most rooms also have no windows.

(Translated by Google) Everything here is excellent for a hostel. The rooms are dark and quiet. The beds are soft. There's a little airiness, but you can sleep. The hostel has internet, and it works well. There's space to work, take a shower, and you can do laundry for 150 rubles. The location is good. The crowd is a bit odd, but this is Moscow, after all. Check-in was quick. They explained everything and showed us around. The service is up to par for a metropolitan level. This is a good hostel. Anyone who's traveled around Asia will understand right away. A bed in an 8-bed dorm starts at 300 rubles per day. Cheaper than Mumbai. I recommend it to everyone. Good luck!

Sputnik is a trendy youth hostel located in Moscow, offering industrial-chic dorms and private rooms with a modern yet rustic design. It's one of the few boutique options in the city, appealing to flashpackers who appreciate minimalist style. The hostel provides a shared kitchen, free Wi-Fi, and a good common room for socializing or relaxing. Situated near Red Square, it offers easy access to various attractions.
Had a great stay here, Andrew and the team were very welcoming, friendly and fun to hang out with - we all enjoyed ourselves. The room was good and we were able to get a spare duvet when needed etc. Good common room with a nice space to sit and read, cook and chill out. Right near Red Square too, so could travel around easily. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Russia. Also, their English was very good which made life a lot easier.

Really nice hostel and well located in the center of Moscow (10 minutes walk away from the Red Square and the Kremlin). The neighborhood is full of bars and restaurants. It could be a bit noisy at night, because of the street, but you can find earplug at the reception. The whole place is clean, the people helpful. All the comfort you can need. A perfect place to stay and have a great Moscow experience. Highly recommended.

I think this is the most well designed hostel I have had the pleasure to stay in. It is beautiful very minimum and Scandinavian in style and also super functional. It's in a great area lots of restaurants bars and luxury stores. I have stayed in more than 100 hostels and this is in the top 3. Great job from the team there. This is not a party hostel it's a communal living space. If you want to meet like minded interesting people stay here.

very well located. The room for three people was a bit small and did not , have aircon, which is costing the hostel a star, other than that the beds in the dormitory are great and the "flat" itself is superb. No areas to smoke so you'll need to walk down to smoke outside. the hostel in on the third floor.

Excellent location and team. The only setback is the bed that I found a bit small (I'm 1.80m) and hard to climb with the handles up high.

As the first independent hostel in the city, it has garnered attention from various media outlets. Nestled within a residential building, the hostel offers a homely atmosphere and is praised for its cleanliness, cozy beds, ample power outlets, and friendly staff.
Nice homely hostel in a great location. It's within a residential building so there are no signboards outside - just follow the directions on their website and you'll get there. I liked the cleanliness, comfy bed, numerous power plugs, and staff - Asya was so friendly! Some people may find it useful to know that 1) the hostel is on the 3rd floor, there is no elevator 2) there's only 1 shower and 1 toilet

---THE BEST HOSTEL IN MOSCOW---- I was a student in Med Uni in Russia and i visited Moscow for many times but this is the 1st time i stayed in Ivan Hostel. I was attracted by the white and clean room photos when i was choosing a hostel to stay in Moscow. Ivan hostel: 1. Clean in every single corners without disappointing you even in the kitchen and toilet 2. warm enough in the winter with -16C 3. VERY CAPABLE, FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL staffs (they are fluent in Eng speaking, able to find the cheapest taxi to airport, helpful in giving clear and detailed direction and guide in city traveling, help to carry your heavy luggage up to hostel in the midnight with a smiling face!) 4. freely access well-equipped kitchen (microwave, tea and sugar, kettle, fridge, cutlery, frying pan, ventilator etc) 5. spacey bathroom with strong water power shower and bathtub 6. cosy dorm with clean bedsheet and pillow, comfortable and good quality mattress, lockers, jacket hangers. 7. Easily to be found for the first visitor 8. Located beside the Police station, always see policemen patrolling around the area 9. 5 mins walk to metro station and supermarket 10. High speed free Wifi internet access (fluent in video skype and streaming video!) I am not hired by Ivan hostel for advertising, hahaha...just to clear your doubts! I received a very nice treatment from every aspects of Ivan hostel, that's why i am proudly to present it to all the travelers to Moscow that this will be your first choice in choosing a hostel to stay in Moscow without regrets!

(Translated by Google) All the best to everyone. I’ve been living in a so-called apartment for three years now, renting a bed. Everything was very good. Polite administrators. The hostel owners created a good environment too. In my opinion, they are trying to ensure that everything physical functions. But about half a year ago, a new administrator (Lyudmila Georgievna) appeared and began to communicate with me in a biased way, to find fault with me for no reason, to nag me. And on these New Year holidays, since other administrators were sent home, a rude, arrogant administrator came. To contact the owners of the hostel (Presnya) about this. The owners speak to me in a raised tone, refusing to understand the problem that has arisen. Dear future guests (as the hostel owners call their guests). Now in quotation marks, guests in my opinion. The way this administrator treats the guests not as guests, but as teenagers in a labor correctional colony. If you are satisfied with this attitude towards yourself, even if only temporarily. You can come and stay in an apartment (Presnya) and rent a bed. With friendly wishes, a guest of the apartment (Presnya).
