Disappointing! You'd expect the "Mall of Cyprus" to be a significant destination point! It's name a long gives the impression the biggest mall in cyprus! But it is far from that! Limassol mall is miles better!

Gr8 mall - been renovated and expanded not too long ago. Lots of brand name shops and eateries (inc. Macdonalds, Pizza Hut and TGI Fridays!). Good atmosphere. Plenty of covered and uncovered parking. Large Ikea right beside it. All air-conditioned.

Acropolis Park in Nicosia is a fantastic green escape! It's beautifully maintained, with lush trees and peaceful pathways perfect for a walk, run, or just relaxing. The park has great playgrounds for kids and plenty of open space for everyone to enjoy. It's a wonderful, serene spot that offers a refreshing break from city life. Highly recommended for a quiet moment or family fun!

Nice average park in the middle of Strovolos opposite marks and spencers store. With playgrounds and a basketball court and a nice restaurant

Nothing much to be done here. The place needs to be taken care of much more especially the green areas. There is a play area for kids with swings, slides and a merry go round. Some events that include inflatables take place here which are interesting for small kids. Dogs are allowed.

The square, on its own, is very unique and futuristic, but personally, I feel like it is very out of place in Nicosia, like it doesn't really fit in with the city's general architecture and spirit. My main fault, though, is that it is so open and bare. In the scorching heat of the Cypriot Sun, you have a large city square with few to no trees. Honestly, I feel like any sort of flora would've been welcome to alleviate some of the brutal heat.

Needs a bit of a clean and is slightly run down but I loved it I loved to have experienced zaha hadids architecture in Nicosia so close to home !!

It is the second time we come to visit Nicosia by public transport (intercity bus) from Larnaca. The head of the line in Nicosia is the Eleftheria market. The area was set up quite futuristically, ornaments, fountains with lights, Christmas lights. Public toilets are also available but in a rather poor condition. In the Eleftheria market area, you have the impression that you are teleported to another geographical area, rather Asia. An explanation would be the abundance of "tourists" who haunt near the border with the Turkish side of the island.

A lovely redevelopment with lots of people enjoying themselves. All ages have access. The park is surprisingly longer than it looks.

Highly recommended! And best of all, it's free to enter! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The exhibitions are rich and diverse, with detailed explanations that cover Nicosia’s history from ancient times to the modern era. There are plenty of interactive elements and short videos throughout the museum. My personal favorite was the audiobook storytelling section, which brought the stories to life in a really engaging way. There are also lots of life-sized dolls dressed in historical costumes, surrounded by carefully recreated environments and historical objects; it honestly felt like stepping back in time. A wonderful place to learn, explore, and feel immersed in Cyprus’s history.

This museum is really exceptional! They did an excellent job, showcasing the development of the city from early ages on. You should plan enough time to properly explore the place which stretches over several floors. Even I haven’t seen the Cyprus museum yet, I think both should be visited for a full understanding. Best thing, the museum is free of charge.

We were completely struck by this museum. Starting from the first floor and going upwards, we could trace the history of the city, influenced by so many cultures through the centuries. The exhibits made a great impact on us, realizing that Lefkosia/Nicosia was shaped by so many important historical figures and events. From ancient times, this settlement has had multinational character, still to this day. The temporary exhibit on the 2nd floor about the Green Line and the current divide inside the city was quite imactful. Totally worth a visit! The entrance is free and it is open on Sundays as well.

Probably the best museum in Cyprus. Modern, interactive, housed in an architectural gem, has something for everyone whether you are a seasoned archaeologist or just a curious tourist.

Delicious food! We tried two meze sets - one vegetarian and one with meat. The hummus, eggplant, and vegetables were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend coming here and trying it. I’ve never had such delicious cinnamon tea before! If I ever come back to Nicosia, I will gladly visit you again 🥹

What an amazing experience dining under the beautiful strung lights in the old walled city of Nicosia. It was our first meal after a long day of flying from NYC, so we went with Rami’s suggestion to get the Fanous Meze and shared a carafe of Cypriot white wine. The Meze was fresh, tasty, and enough food for breakfast the next day. We chatted with the owner while he was enjoying the evening with some hookah and learned his story as we played with “Tiger”. It felt very homey and cozy, the perfect introduction to our vacation in Cyprus.

We came here because after searching for a good restaurant in the area, we noticed this place was highly recommended. Well, we were not disappointed! EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious. Unique flavors, tender meats, fresh ingredients, and soft warm bread. We were STUFFED! Highly, HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.

It’s the most chill and colorful cafe in old town. Always filled with people enjoying their coffee or beer and having fun. I visit almost every couple of days because of the Christmas vibes, the coffee is good and not expensive

Good breakfast at this place, however the waiting time was very long, we spent too much time waiting for the food. I really liked the atmosphere, it was quite comfortable and cozy in the inner space.

I’ve been to this café more than four times in the past two weeks, and the atmosphere is always amazing. The staff are super friendly, and the manager is really kind as well. We even organized a birthday party for a friend with over 20 people, and everything went perfectly. This time, I had a Piña Colada and my friend ordered a Sex on the Beach – both were great! I’m leaving some photos too. I really recommend this place. Thank you so much!

Looks and seems very nice but be aware that there is smoking inside! Quite an off-putting contrast to the cute decor and colourful, comfortable setting. They might regard it as ‘outside’ but it is inside. Staff are wonderful. There is complimentary water which is a great welcoming gesture. The food is cheap while the drinks are not particularly. It’s likely to be the cosiest and quaintest cafe on the whole street.

This is a really cute place to hang out, the coffee (Americano) is good, but quite expensive compared to other items on the menu. I also had a slice of tiramisu which was huge and delicious 😋 The free water is a nice idea. One thing that let this place down was the service. It wasn't awful, and I'm not sure if the waitress was struggling with English, but she seemed like she was bothered by being there.

I was walking down the street and heard from a woman sitting in this cafe “this is the best cheesecake I’ve had in a while” so I decided to try it no matter what. The lemon cheesecake was heaven, not too sweet, not too fat, just perfect. Going together with lemonade 👌🏻❤️ However there were lack of staff, despite it was Sunday evening, they had only 2 waiters that just didn’t pay attention to customers at all.

We had a very disappointing experience at Patio Cocktail Bar. Our group of 14 girls spent around €400, and when we politely asked for just 5 shots on the house, the so-called “manager” rudely replied: “Why should we give you anything? You only did the minimum consumption.” This is completely unprofessional and shows a lack of respect towards paying customers. The platters were overpriced and not worth the money. The atmosphere was extremely uncomfortable with the heat — only two air coolers at the entrance and three fans for the entire place, which made it unbearable. Hospitality is about creating a good experience, not making guests feel unwelcome or like they are a burden. With such a poor overall bad management, this was definitely the last time we visited this venue. There are plenty of other bars in Nicosia that actually appreciate their customers — unfortunately, Patio is not one of them!!!

Everything was fine, the thing we did not like very much was the minimum charge per person of 25 euro. However, you are allowed to eat and drink anything you want from the menu so this is fine. The atmosphere was a bit too relaxed than what we expected. Overall, it was very nice and the staff very kind.

Wonderful event with the guest percussionist Albert Boyadjian and DJ from Lebanon!!! We danced all night, the music and the atmosphere were just fantastic, really can't wait for the next one!!!!! The food was delicious, despite the fact that they didn't had lot of options for vegetarians/vegans. The menu was a little bit strange, gurme style but with normal size portions! At the end I eat very tasty salmon with rice. The drinks/cocktails also were nice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I was invited to this tiny, mainly take away / delivery, restaurant but I really enjoyed it. My satisfaction was twofold: as we entered the shop, the owner asked us to deactivate our mobile phones ("how can you enjoy your meal if you talk on your cell phone all the time?"). It's really amazing that a restaurant owner has the guts to ask customers to do that! Then came the food, most of which was excellent. I can't say that we had the best sushi in the world (after all, nowadays most sushi chefs serve us extravagant and outrageously extreme dishes) but in any case it was worth it. Our spicy tuna was most probably frozen. No music here and no particular interior design. The service was very good and the prices reasonable. Overall, I would say a really good value for money Japanese place at the heart of the capital.

I could not recommend this place enough! I heard from friends about it and they said I had to try; Well they were absolutely right! Every single sushi tasted amazing, I can’t say there was a single thing I am not happy about or that It could improve! In addition, they had provided us with more than enough ginger, wasabi, and soya sauce which many places simply don’t! Will be ordering again, and we recommend you should too!

We had a bad experience visiting the mall from the city center with e-scooters. The journey towards the mall went nicely via the paramiko linear park. From the bicycle statue we turned towards the mall, and problems started at the highway E903, which we had to cross. It is not really a place for pedestrians, bikes or escooters. There are the bus stops, one on each side of the road, next to which you can find a nearly hidden underpass for crossing the E903 road. Then we continued towards the mall, but made the mistake to drive on the small road that has relatively busy traffic from and to the mall. We then opted to drive the pavement that luckily went all the way to the mall. This e-scooters on the pavement vs. road is a wider issue in Nicosia/Cyprus. If you go on the roads, the car drivers will shout you to go on the pavement. If you go on the pavement, to my understanding, you can be fined by the police. When we arrived to the mall, I was approaching the bike/moped racks maybe 5-7 km/h when the mall security "attacked" me in Greek saying something about the dromo, apparently saying that you cannot drive the scooter outside the road. This felt little mad because I was just driving slowly towards the bike racks, which are next to the front door, and I did not approach people walking in and out the mall from close distance. In addition, you could see the delivery drivers with their mopeds driving to these racks constantly in and out. This incidence with overly policing security added to my general frustration on the state of Nicosia e-scooter and bike commuting situation, but perhaps they do geniunly have issues with the scooters in the mall judged by the amount of teenagers doing crazy stuff in the mall. Overall, it is a nice mall but it would greatly benefit from better bike and pedestrian infrastructure leading from the city to the mall. As is it now, the Mall of Cyprus or the Enkomi Mall is easier to reach with bikes/e-scooters/etc. from the city center. Not far from the mall, there is a small park with kids toys and benches but I believe it has been unused for years based on the amount of plants growing on the walking paths. Not to be overly pessimistic, I thank the Nicosia mall for having the bike racks in the first place although they are too few considering the size of the mall.

Just because some other teens were messing around, we got kicked out early even though adults were let inside, and it was cold. Even though we didn't do anything . Unneceptable for security guards to not be able to tell apart trouble makers and nice people.

Have visited the Mall and Ikea which is next to the Mall many times . It is very nice complex of shops , with ample parking and most it under the building away from the heat of the sun. If you like to dine , there many shops at the Food court . Recommend that you visit it as well as the large Ikea department store adjacent to the Mall. l do not have any photos or videos.

A private collection that became public. A great gift from A. Leventis for the future generations. A very educative collection consists of European, Greek , Cypriot and some Asian artefacts. Few époques, a few pièces of art of each shown in three storey modern building give us a great example of how fine arts developed through the time until nowadays. Some famous names as El Greco, Renoir or Canaletto are on the walls. Fashionable souvenir shop and a cosy Zest cafe at the entrance.

I was amazed by the diversity of this collection, from rococo to pointillism , from tiny sketches to painted walls. Over all the gallery created a special atmosphere and it has a remarkable collection. It worth over 5 stars.

The oldest and largest archaeological museum in Cyprus houses artifacts discovered allover the island from idfferent periods of time. The Cyprus Museum was founded in 1882 during the British occupation of the island following a petition by the Cypriot people, delivered by a delegation headed by the religious leaders of both Christian and Muslim populations. Beautiful building and very interesting artefacts to be found here.

great museum to get to know about the ancient history of cyprus. I was actually caught off-guard by the abundance of the artifacts presented here from all around the island. free entrance and free cold water with entrance were also nice little touches. Has a chill little cafe in it's beautiful backyard. The architecture of the museum building itself is also beautiful.

The Archaeological Museum presents the rich history of Cyprus in a compelling way. The Museum has free entry and you need about an hour to explore it. Many important artifacts are on display, and it's fascinating to recognize their historical significance. The exhibition rooms are thoughtfully divided into categories: jewelry, statues, burial ceremonies, etc, which makes it easier to explore different aspects of the past. However, a bit more signage would help visitors better connect the dots and follow the historical timeline. The architecture of the building is equally impressive. I’m truly looking forward to visiting the new Archaeological Museum and taking the time to view the artifacts as they deserve to be seen: with respect and admiration.

Instead of going to the check point straight away after getting off at Solomon Square, I visited the FREE Cyprus Museum first. During the 6-7 minutes' walk, I also came across the city wall. The high quality of the exhibits in the museum really surprised me. The jewelleries could still be in fashion nowadays. The terracotta army were so well preserved. Actually, all the other terracotta objects really interested me. Overall, the history of Cyprus has been well documented.

Surprisingly closing hours were 6 PM and they started denying the entries around 5.30 onwards and wrapping up their bags. I requested but they mentioned, we have to close all the rooms and all so can't allow you now. I mentioned about timings but they softly denied the entry. Located very close to bus station and other main attractions. No charges, free of cost entry in the Museum.

We visited to the Museum on Friday. It is a private collection of a person. It was Museum's 25th anniversary. The owner has a collection of 450 bikes but displayed only 150. He keeps rotating the display. Some bikes are gifted to him but mostly he purchased them and refurbished them to the original look. A must visit place for bike enthusiast. It is a walking distance from the Cyprus musem.

The museum guide is truly knowledgeable about the history of the manufacturers and the models and about owning and using a bike in Cyprus. I came out enriched with useful information regarding suitable roads and routes for bike trips in the island, motorway regulations and the Cypriot second-hand market. And of course, lots interesting factoids and curiosities. I like it when a museum is run by people who can offer an expert opinion on the subject matter and will openly discuss it with you. I was also warmly welcomed!

A very precious collection of motorcycles introduced by a really passionate guide, who is a multiple Dakar rider, a fighterplane pilot with all the stories of the bikes exhibited there. Real experience.

We googled what to see in Nicosia. As I’m interested in cars and bikes thought I’d take a look. I couldn’t believe what a great place this is. The guy there knew so much about bikes and all the history about them. Well worth a visit

If you’re a motorcycle fan than it’s a must.. Some nice old motorcycles and a few Newish (80’s) 5 euros entry, so very reasonable in my opinion.

The majority of the dishes tasted well although the chicken was a bit too chewy and dry. The service was fast and the live music contributed to having a fun night. However, they let in peddlers who attempted to sell meaningless trinkets and roses, which was unacceptable, unprofessional, and dangerous!

Busy place on the weekends. Mezze is average however meat dishes are excellent and tasty. 4€ Extra per person for music even if you leave before the music starts. Overall go for the meat!

Traditional restaurant with excellent service, astonishingly tasteful food and well deserved reputation of exceptional quality and quantity of delightful experience. The location is not far away from the city center but far enough from the crowded touristic area. Things to consider - the garden salad, the traditional pork, the lamb chops and the galumi cheese. We got for free two rounds of free difestives, home made ice cream and nuts AFTER we finished our meals so be ready to use your secondary stomach :-)

A good tavern with an informal casual enviroment. Food is ok. Meze dishes are very limited for the price paid. A greater selection of the meze dishes in association with the enviroment then this place would be outstanding.

Such a well cooked pork chop. Excellent service, the chef came out and asked us exactly what we wanted to eat and boy did it deliver.

While the staff was friendly, the food was a huge letdown. I started with the chicken buttermilk, which was fine but lacked sauce. My main dish, the pork Milanese (€20), was a complete disappointment—bland, overcooked, and with the breading peeling off. The texture was off, and the salad tasted like it hadn’t been washed properly. I told two different waiters I didn’t enjoy my meal, and neither responded or acknowledged my feedback. I wasn’t expecting a discount, just basic customer care. I left feeling unsatisfied and had to find another place to eat. Definitely not worth it.

Highly recommended! The food was amazing and the service was very fast. The only issue was with the outside seating area, which didn’t have any fans or cooling, making it uncomfortable to sit outside in the hot Cyprus weather. Aside from that, everything was excellent, and the prices were reasonable.

We made a reservation for two at Thursday night .we were lucky to find a table since it was almost full for that day . The staff was really friendly and professional . We ordered some beef tartar with truffle mayo as a starter!! Burrata talliatels and tartufo pizza ! All 3was tasty and very well served !! Thank you for everything..

The food was good, i got the spaghetti carbonara and the bacon ob top of it was a little burned for my taste. Service was exceptional. We sat outside and it wad a little bit hot but it was bearable. But generally recommend. Lastly the wine was great.

The place looks really beatiful, it has a lot of natural shade, feels great, not hot at all. There was live music, the food was delicious. I gave 4 stars for service because we waited a lot for a guy to come so we can pay. Great little restaurant.

I had a lunch here with couple of friends. Restaurant is easy to find, as it is located in the busy street that leads to Turkish part of Nicosia. We were welcomed by the manager who was really outgoing person. Staff was friendly and service super fast. We got our meals in about 10-15 minutes.

Best place in Nicosia for lunch! Nice garden, with such friendly people working there! They made a big bowl of Yoghurt with nuts and honey especially for me! For free!!!! And it was delicious! My boyfriend also had a great meal. Will definitely go back there!

Musaka tasted great, so did the grilled vegetables and grilled chicken. Live music made the atmosphere even better. Finally we were treated free dessert.

Such a lovely friendly place, we were greeted by the owner himself. We were walking down Ledra Street and wondering where to go have lunch as we were craving traditional Cypriot food and I have to say that it exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing, fresh and delicious. They also cater for vegetarians. We started with a Greek village salad and courgettes balls that came piping hot, then moved on to a mixed souvlaki dish that was scrumptious and came with fries, tzatziki and bread. Our waitress Tatia was very friendly and efficient. We were also given complimentary panna cotta for dessert and a shot of mastic liquor 😋.. We sat in the beautiful back garden which is a bonus and there was a also a singer on the Sunday who serenaded everyone with beautiful soft songs. We can't recommend this lovely restaurant enough and will definitely be back soon! Thank you Anamma!

We had a business launch at a weekday with 2 more colleagues. It was a very exciting experience as the staff the taste and the service were all excellent. The atmosphere is amazing, there is a bar , a seating area and a small outside area where you can have a coffee drink or food. The staff is professional and very friendly and supportive with the menu. The plates were very well prepared and cooked, the tastes combined the traditional cuisine with the fine dining experience. The prices are in the high side however can say that is value for money. For sure I will visit again when I will be in the area.

I used to visit this place every week, it was one of my favorite restaurants, if not my favorite. Lately my experience has not been as good as it used to be. The food is below average, the portions are so small. My food was served cold. This place has a unique aesthetic and an excellent location but something needs to be done with the food because it is going from bad to worse.

I was in this restaurant for the first time in 2019 and I want to tell you that for me it is still considered the best restaurant for food in Nicosia because there is always delicious food, excellent service and never any complaints, I love this place!

We have been here for a brunch, lovely place, quite fancy I would say. It is very quiet and relaxing, the service is very attentive! Menu includes quite a variety of items, mainly breakfast one with quite a few pages of desserts. We had an home lette with mushrooms and ham which was lovely, the feta and spinach pie was good too! My daughter choose the strawberry and chocolate pancake but ended up eating the chocolate namelaka. For me the only thing I would change is to add a crunchy layer on the namelaka, maybe a crunchy feuillantine at the bottom stick to the sponge and put something a bit more liquid in the middle, to make it maybe a bit less heavy, but flavour was good overall! Prices are reasonable too considering the place

This is a sophisticated gem in the heart of the capital! We came for late evening desserts, fresh lemonade and a glass of wine. Very elegant atmosphere with impeccable service and the desserts can be called gourmet masterpieces! The best homemade apple pie with scrumptious vanilla bean ice cream, delicate chocolate Melody dessert, fresh strawberry lemonade and a surprisingly tasty local Cypriot Sauvignon Blanc ended our first evening in Lefcosia on a high note! The staff - super professional, polite and catering to all our desires! We will definitely come back for a full dinner experience! 10 out of 10 for fine dining! Reservations are a must, especially on weekends - this is a very popular spot.

Wow - this is an amazing place to visit. Entering the building feels like travelling back in time - with the old Cypriot culture and traditional architecture. The stone courtyard, lined with little shops and artisan workshops, is terrific. It’s a good spot to enjoy a coffee or traditional sweet, while surrounded by centuries-old arches and stone walls. Büyük Han is a must-visit.

Built in 1572 by the Ottomans, supposedly to celebrate the successful taking over of the islands from the Venetians, the Buyuk Han (the Great Inn in Turkish) is now a large bazaar on the Turkish Cypriot side of Nicosia / Lefkosia, with a small mosque in its centre. It has that singular oriental vibe imbued within it, so visiting it is a truly specific experience highly recommended to anyone visiting the northern part of the divided city. Some very interesting items are on display that can be bought here for very affordable prices. Although, if you're supposed to cross the border over back to the southern side, I'm not sure whether there would be any issues with the border patrol. Still, a site very much worth visiting.

Büyük Han is one of the most impressive historical landmarks in the heart of Nicosia. Built in 1572 during the Ottoman period, it is beautifully preserved and offers a real sense of history. The courtyard is wide and atmospheric, surrounded by stone arches and traditional architecture. Inside, there are small artisan shops, souvenir stores, and cozy cafés. Sitting in the courtyard with a coffee is a very relaxing experience. The entrance is free, and the location is very central, just a short walk from Ledra Street and the main attractions of the old town. It can get busy on weekends, so coming earlier in the day is a good idea. Overall, it’s both a cultural and relaxing spot — definitely a must-visit for anyone coming to North Cyprus.

An unexpected surprise! The han is superbly renovated with small artisanal shops all over. We loved its vibe and the fact that you can get a coffee inside as well (even though those umbrellas look awful)

Selimiye Mosque is a former Christian cathedral- Cathedral of Saint Sophia - converted into a mosque. It' s interesting how this is, at the same time, he main mosque on the island of Cyprus - it can hold 2500 worhipers but also the largest and oldest surviving Gothic church on the island. But to be honest, it is really beautiful!

Beautiful and sad. The sadness is from seeing what was one of the most beautiful cathedrals of the middle ages totally gutted of anything Christian. It must have been so beautiful. I can only imagine the ornate interior before forcibly being converted to a mosque under Ottoman occupation and colonization.

A nice view point from which to glean a general outlook of the city and its history. Well-placed plaques and interactive touchscreen tablets facilitate endeavours at comprehending the complex history of this divided city. Although some information needs to be slightly updated in light of the developing city skyline, most of the crucial information is accurate and relevant. If it's your first time visiting the city, I would think that this would be a good starting point from which to begin exploring.

A little tricky to find but worth the effort as it provides a good vantage point from which to obtain a general view across the city and the surrounding area. There are various plaques and interactive touchscreen tablets showing the complex history of this divided city. Perhaps a little out of date but the most of the information is still accurate and relevant. A good starting point from which to begin exploring.

This is the tallest building in Nicosia, definitely worth stopping by to get oriented with the divided capital. It is located in an office-looking building; just take the elevator to the top floor. Watch the film (available in different languages) to learn a bit more about the Cyprian history. Nice selections of souvenirs too.

It's a must visit spot, as it gives you an amazing view of the occupied city centre as well as a historical overview, with time lines and old photographs. It's a shame that the video available to watch at the tower is very bad quality, especially keeping in mind today's technology. Shiakolas group could do better on this one.

If you want to see a 360° view of Nicosia, you should visit this tower. Entrance is on the side of the h&m store. With the elevator you can go to the 11th floor. After paying €2,50 per person on top you get a nice view of Nicosia. Above in the tower there is information about the city, a video which tells the history of the city and some beverages which you can buy. There is airconditioning at the top! The place is tiny.

Disappointing experience — not worth the entry fee. Entrance costs €2.50, but most of the interactive screens weren’t working, the windows were dirty (which is surprising for a viewing point), and the view itself wasn’t particularly special. The building was also very hot — likely due to poor or no air conditioning. Worst of all, the restrooms were extremely dirty. Overall, this place should be free or cost no more than €1

The clock tower offers a nice 360° view of downtown Nicosia. Great spot to see the city from above.

Following the turkish invasion of Cyprus, the mosque gained significance as one of the most important sites of Muslim worship in the non-Muslim section of the island and the city. The site of the mosque was originally occupied by the Augustinian Church of Saint Mary, which dated back to the 14th century, but it was destroyed. After the Turkish conquest of Cyprus, Lala Mustafa Pasha, the Ottoman commander, ordered a mosque to be built on the site of the former church,[2] based on a popular belief that Umar, second caliph of Islam, was buried at this site in 7th century. According to turkish cypriot folklore, the Ömeriye Mosque is the first mosque where turks prayed on the island following its conquest in 1571

This is familiar with the name big mosque in old town Nicosia. We had a wonderful month of Ramadan (Arabic month) in march 2025. For first couple of days as an international student, the provided Iftars were relaxing and ease of coping up with days. Nice moments were then.

İmpressive monument. It was one of the biggest three monasteries during Lousingnan Era. It was converted to a Mosque by Ottomans

Jummuah Khutbah started at 1.30pm and the Prayer started around 1.55pm. Large prayer area and a very basic and tired looking masjid. The Imaam had a very soothing Qiraat. I did not use the wudu facilities so I can not comment on that.

Not in great shape this historical mosque appears to be heading towards a demolition. In front is a big and empty parking lot which is dirty. It's a shake the city doesn't fix it.

Great mosque, The cons: - The sermon is in Arabic only, since Cyprus has a diverse ethnicity in Nicosia, it would be better if it was in English Edit: the sheikh did an explanation in English at the end, I raise by one star my review. - Sometimes the microphone bugs and the sound system is saturating at every recitation or Athan, changing them would be great. The pros: - The mosque is beautiful and well maintained - The imam is nice and his sermon are good teachings - The ablution is working

This impressive mosque was once a Christian church, as can be seen from the architecture. It is open to the public, in fact I had a wander in and was warmly welcomed.

Fanastic place. I had a full scrubdown, wash and massage and it was simply brilliant. Sumi is excellent, the place is ancient and peaceful and I highly recomend it to anyone who visits Nicosia.

Was a really nice experience, they had some good treatments ans the facility was really good Before the treatment is a 30min Hamam session where you're given a bowl and you scrub yourself in a heated room (~40oC) Tbh they could have done with a lot more instruction here as we weren't sure what to do But apart from that the treatments are good, would recommend the head, neck and shoulder massage and my girlfriend had a facial in the hot room which she enjoyed. They also provide you with some nice ginger tea, water and some cake and nuts/raisins

This place is really beautiful, serene and amazing! In the middle of the busy city you just enter this dome of serenity and peace. The Hamam treatment (excellent Balinese massage therapist) was so wonderful and the staff is really friendly and helpful. If you’re stressed and just need some time out, this is definitely the place to be 🙏🏻 Thank you so much for making this into a wonderful experience!

Amazing experience! Beautiful historical building, very relaxing in the hamam and the complimentary lokum, nuts and the homemade ginger tea is just perfect after the hamam.

We were really looking forward to visiting here. We pre-booked a couples appointment for the 35 minute do it yourself bath. We were greeted with tea and water when we entered (but did not have time to drink as we seemed to be rushed), shown our private cabin, then directed to the bath. We thoroughly enjoyed this part and spent probably 30 minutes inside bathing. When we were done we used the showers and toilet and then went back to our cabin to relax a little with more tea and water. The reception said we could stay for up to 2 hours. As we were getting ready to leave, a worker came up to our cabin and in a rude way told us to be quiet as she was giving a massage (the cabin area is big room with other cabins). We weren't even loud. In any case we had to make some noise as we were getting dressed. It left a sour taste and memory of the place.

A few days ago I visited this quaint little church of St. John in Nicosia. A little unassuming from the outside, but beautifully decorated from the inside. But be aware of the custodian, a chainsmoking man dressed in all black. He stormed in after we had been inside for a few minutes and started shouting at us for taking pictures. Which we had not. He would hear none of it. His anger focused on my 11-year-old son. The custodian shouted at him that taking pictures was forbidden, which we knew, we had read the signs. But he had seen him do it and demanded his phone. My son answered politely, in his best English (not his mother tongue), "I did not take any pictures, sir". The man became even more angry. All the visitors needed to show their phones and also the voluntary contribution to the church was now demanded of everyone by him at high tone. I calmly showed him my son's phone, opened the camera and showed him the last picture taken. It was an outdoor picture, nothing to do with his church. But no apology came however on his own false accusation. We needed to pay! After this statement, he started a loud conversation on his phone while walking back and forth through the little church, ignoring us. All in all a very strange experience. Very impolite and even in a church as well of all places. So please do visit the church, it is beautiful, but beware of the Man in Black!

An absolute gem in the heart of Nicosia! St. John’s Church is truly breathtaking — small from the outside but incredibly beautiful once you step in. The frescoes and icons are stunning, full of detail and history, and the atmosphere inside is peaceful and inspiring. The staff were welcoming and happy to share insights about the church’s past, which made the visit even more special. A must-see if you are in Nicosia!

This gothic Cathedral with its vibrant frescoes is certainly one of Lefkosia’s must-sees. Archibishop's Palace looks beautiful under night lights.

Terrible experience. I visited this information center with a group of friends to ask about the town, museums, and other attractions. The woman at the desk, who didn’t speak English, was incredibly rude and unhelpful. She handed us a map and immediately pointed to the door, clearly wanting us to leave. It seemed like she was more interested in scrolling through her social media than assisting visitors. This happened on Wednesday, May 21st, around 11:30 AM.

Beautiful gate. Inside, it operates as a tourist information desk. The lady was helpful, answered my question about museums and gave me a tourist mini map of the town showing me also the attractions points!

Pros: The gate was built in 1567 by Venetians, as a part of the new city walls. It was restored by the Ottomans in 1821, and a lookout was added to the gate for a probable Greek revolt. Now, the gate is used as a tourism information office by the Nicosia Turkish Municipality. One of the historical landmarks in Nicosia. The area surrounding the gate has many restaurants, services and hotels. Overall rating is 08/10. Cons: There's nothing can complain about it.

As one of three gates in the Venetian city walls, it’s not as exciting as I expected but a must-see when visiting Lefkoşa nonetheless (the park next to it is a nice rest spot and dolmuş/minivan stop for Girne/Kyrenia is nearby).

Terrible the lady at the desk doesn’t help at all visited a few days ago the only thing she was interested in doing was her phone she also had a rude attitude gave us the map and went back to scrolling ignoring all our questions she doesn’t speak English which I didn’t believe but said nothing but i think she just said that so she could go back to scrolling

In fact is a real restaurant, not just a cafe. We had lunch here, they serve mostly traditional Turkish dishes. It was OK, though I can't say I'm a fan of this kind of food. Good service, it's possible to pay by card.

When surrounded by so much history of the Μεγάλο Χάνι, Sedirhan Cafe was an amazing place to grab breakfast. Though it was borderline hot temperatures, the restaurant is covered with also fans circulating the air to help keep you cool; so cool, even the cats were happy to lie around and watch us eat! 😺 As for the food, it was the best breakfast I'd had in north Cyprus, typical of Turkish Cypriot cuisine with extremely fresh produce used; I loved the olives and fresh lemonade. The eggs had great texture and flavour in our omelette, with halloumi and feta cheeses having so much texture and flavour; with the freshly baked breads helping to fill us up. If you want to start your day the right way, have food from here!

The service was amazing, the waiters are so genuinely nice and friendly. Food was 10/10 - so so delicious. The place has no toilet of their own, but you can use the building's paid toilet (50cents). We paid in euros, so the conversion rate was very high.

Tasty and traditional food in a very unique place. We really enjoyed the flat bread with fillings (sorry, I'm not exactly sure what the name of the food is). We ordered half with spinach and half with grounded beef (which was similar to Russian chebureki). The hummus came with a very nicely baked bread.

Nice very lovely atmosphere fairly reasonable prices I really recommend the pirohu and nor börek delicious and amazing traditional food which tastes just as good every year I come here couldn’t recommend enough !!

Very good place to get large beer and Turkic’s coffee and snacks. They accept euro or Turks Lyra, cheaper that Greek side of Cyprus. Place is renovated and have many craft shops on both floors, need passport to cross it

We visited this place because we heard really good comments for meat meze. Actually it was just okay. In my opinion their meze has less meat than it should be compared to other places and too many carbs, spinach rice, beef orzo, pourgouri, potatoes two different ways and ravioles! About the meat quality and cooking yes, but not enough like 3 pieces of pork souvlaki and chicken for each, shieftalia, sausage, and cypriot beef liver for meat. I was waiting all night for meat because i didn't want to fill up with all the other and it wasn't enough! That's my honest opinion, if you eat from all the dishes yes is too much if not and you are waiting for meat then no!

I had a nice experience at Zanettos Taverna. The manager is very kind and generous, which immediately sets a warm atmosphere. The meze was diverse and plentiful, including dishes like Sheftalia, souvlaki, fried potatoes, zucchini, rivoli, salad, and bulgur,and rice along with several tasty starters. The food was delicious, especially the chicken and sheftalia, which stood out as my favorites. At the end, they even served dessert, which was a lovely touch. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy authentic Cypriot cuisine. I definitely recommend trying this place if you’re in the area!

We wanted to taste traditional food. We found this place, it's a mezze taverns. Not a classic tavern but the atmosphere was great. They proposed us to take mezze menu (to be honest, i don't think they have another option of service... hahaha). The food is good and arrived in very big quantities!! 22 different mezze! The meat arrived at the end...so wait for it. We took a Rose wine, beers, soda ext... and paid 38€ each. Not the best food in town but definitely worth the experience and your money. Excellent service.

Zanettos is a Cypriot traditional taverna, located in Old Nicosia in a traditional house of the last century. Nice ambient. The menu is reach and offers tasty dishes of Cypriot traditional cuisine. Be ready for big portions. Being the group of seven, our choice fell on meat "meze", which comprises of more then a dozen different plates, served in a "one-after-the-other" way. The staff is fast and efficient; maybe, so fast that our table became filled up with the plates in almost no time. Literally, every square inch of the table. When no more space on the table, the plates start to be built in "floors" (on the top of the glasses, etc.). Maybe, if served slower, we were possible to assist and free some space on the table, emptying some plates. However, I must agree that fast serving is way better than slow, typically met, when the main plates usually remain intact because starter plates are served in a delayed manner, so the guests, having long pauses in serving, satisfy their hunger with salads, pitta bread... Zanettos is highly recommended place for enjoying the Cypriot local dishes based on meat.

It was the best choice for dinner with family or friends. First of all, the staff are very friendly and the very first impression are welcoming. The food was really amazing and we received a lot of dishes for the house's (up to 20 I think). The price was decent.

Amazing Cypriot tavern! No menus—just asked vegan/vegetarian and got a stunning 27-plate mezze feast. Food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic—halloumi, dips, grilled veggies galore. Service prompt and friendly, atmosphere lively with bouzouki vibes. Highly recommend! Come hungry!

An interesting experience of Cypriot meze with a little bit of everything: salads, fresh french fries, zucchini fries, pork and chicken meat, two types of sausages, halloumi cheese, bulgur, a type of rice with spinach, olives and a good dessert. A little bit too much for two people in my opinion. I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of their green garden terrace during our dinner time, surrounded with jasmine and trees. The food is good and fresh, and I couldn't help but notice that the terrace got crowded immediately after 7 pm, and more than half of the customers seemed to be locals, spending quality time with family on a Sunday evening, enjoying this location and the meze meals.

The food is absolutely delicious – the pasta is a true masterpiece: rich, full of flavor, and cooked to al dente perfection. I also loved the pizza – fresh ingredients, great crust, and full of taste. The portions are generous, and you .can really feel the warm hospitality in every dish. I highly recommend this place on of my favourites in Nicosia

This place has been open for decades but their food quality and service remain consistently at high standard. And the quantity you get for those prices is a rarity in that area of Lefkosia. Very high value for what you pay.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Italian restaurant, and it was an absolute delight! We were greeted with warm hospitality and impeccable service. The extensive menu offered a wide array of options, and I opted for one of their tantalizing white sauce pasta dishes. It was a tough choice with so many enticing options available, including both red and white sauces, as well as the opportunity to customize the type of pasta. The dish I chose exceeded all expectations—it was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. And let's not forget about their pizzas; just glancing at them made my mouth water! Although the prices were slightly higher by 1-2 euros compared to other places, the exceptional quality of the food and service made every cent worth it. I left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied and eager to return for another delightful culinary experience. Highly recommended to anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine served with a smile!

The staff is kind and nice, the quantity of food is high but the taste isn’t that iexciting (Or maybe I had a wrong choice of food)! the place is tiny and open (so it’s cold by winter) but anyway the smell of food from outside will invite you inside. Nice to try once…

Very busy place! You might need to wait for 10-15 mins to get the table. But once you get a seat, the service is quick. Affordable Italian food, I had a seafood pasta and the portion is way too much 😵 wasn’t able to finish it. If you are looking for some easy option to eat, this is the place!

Solid Italian spot for comforting classics. Pasta is consistently tasty, pizza hits the mark, and the lasagna is hands-down the star of the menu—possibly the best in town.

So many disappointing things.. Firstly the restaurant is one floor above ground without an elevator so it's not children/stroller friendly or anyone with a wheelchair. Secondly the heating was so much that it felt hard to breathe and an overall suffocating atmosphere. Thirdly the staff and especially our waiter was so moody, rude, dismissive and forgetful that we stood waiting for our table for 10 minutes, waited for the menus another 10 minutes and we had to ask for our drinks three times. Not to mention that the menu was very confusingly written. The only good thing about this restaurant was the food and even that was not the best. I ordered a sea food pasta and even though the fish was delicious the pasta was stuck together.. The reason I put 5 starts to the food is also because they brought complimentary Cypriot sweets that were absolutely delicious! So disappointing I will sure not come here again.

The first time we came to Paragadi Fish Restaurant was to finally have found a place that served Lobster in Cyprus. Our meal was delicious. My lobster was served as I specifically asked, “separately from my pasta dish”. My wife’s calamari & octopus were perfectly cooked & tasty to her desire. Service was slow, but I didn’t mind the wait because it was busy. The next time we returned and ordered the exact meals. It was not busy, service was fast and both our meals were very disappointing. My lobster was cooked, then mixed up into my pasta, I specifically told the 2 waiters to separate them. So my dish was soggy, mushy and hard to enjoy the lobster, I couldn’t use the melted butter in the cup to pour over it. I asked the waiter where’s my lobster shell, then he brought it to me empty. My wife takes the shell home to make a delicious lobster bisque soup. My wife said to to me that her calamari & octopus were tough like plastic, as if not properly cooked. The waiter asked if I wanted a new lobster dish, but I said No, I’d already spent 89€ for it and didn’t want to cost them more money, it was the principle to tell the Chef how I asked the food to be prepared. The meal this time was not worth 147€.

One of the best fish taverns in town. 15 years ago or today consistency: same amazing quality, variety of mezze, excellent service. highly recommended.

Well well well, There is a limited places where you can have fish and seafood in Nicosia. This place is great. Had a selection of fresh fish at the entrance, which is always reassuring. Menu was straight to the point, with the usual suspects of octopus, calamari and all the rest. It also had selection of seafood pasta, for those who like this. I have been surprised to find red snapper ceviche on the menu. It was simply delicious 👌🏻do not be afraid to try it there. Calamari were the usual fried calamari I have also managed to order white tarama off the menu. Thank you. Crab was good, had a selection of honey mustard / sweet chilly / soy souses on the side , which I personally find too overpowering for much a gentle taste. Ohhh and and we were offered a chocolate fondant from the house , as it was our first time. Much enjoyed sitting outside admiring simple but yet very tasteful design , what could be called mykanos style 👍🏼 Lovely
