Shopping mall
Shopping
The Centro Commerciale Porte dello Jonio could potentially deserve a perfect rating. The revamp they have done to Auchan is exceptionally impressive and definitely worth visiting. Additionally, their prices are superior to those of their competitors. The mall offers a wide range of shops that cater to all needs and desires, ensuring there is something for everyone. The staff members are friendly and helpful, creating a pleasant shopping experience. Furthermore, the mall houses a large Conad supermarket which provides affordable options.
Very cool mall. Well layout and not very crowded. Has all you need.

Perfect place to wait for Flixbus. A lot of greenery, open gym and walk with the view to the water. Brilliant!

Like everything in this city, the park lacks maintenance, looks (and feels) completely abandoned and there is a complete disregard for the rules. Many parts of the park have been closed to the public for a long time. People here have no common sense or understanding of the value of a beautiful park like this one.

The Concattedrale Gran Madre di Dio is situated in the contemporary section of Taranto, commonly referred to as Borgo Nuovo. The uniqueness of the structure becomes evident even from its exterior, where one can observe a modern design made of steel and concrete that resembles the shape formed by a sail on water.
Taranto is a very interesting city to visit. When you are there you must stop and visit the cathedral of Gran Madre di Dio designed by famous Italian Architect and Designer Giò Ponti.

Giardini Virgilio is a lovely outdoor space that offers a great setting for various activities. It's an ideal spot for families with children, providing ample opportunities for kids to have fun. While it lacks certain amenities like fountains and toilets, it still serves as a nice place to relax and enjoy some coffee at reasonable prices. The historical market located in the heart of Taranto offers a wide assortment of fresh produce, including seafood, vegetables, fruits, and groceries. This vibrant marketplace is a must-visit destination to immerse oneself in the city's rich culture while exploring and purchasing rare treasures sourced from the Ionian Sea.
Amazing matket! Fresh fruit, vegetable, fish, cheese, ham, bread… for a great price.

Medium-sized and authentic. Not a market for Instagram tourists but a market where good fresh produce from plantations or the sea wanders over the counter. Here you can find regional vegetables or mussels that are rarely found elsewhere. Friendly, loud atmosphere. A small section at the side is reserved for clothes and everyday goods. More of interest only to the neighbourhood

Historical market in the center of the city of Taranto. You can find a notable variety of not only fresh fish and seafoods, but also vegetables, fruits and groceries. It is a great place to visit: there you can feel and live the culture of the city, admire and buy rare and precious treasures coming from the Ionian sea. I recommend to buy fresh seafoods, that are traditionally eaten raw, like different types of clam and mussels (cozze pelose, noci o tartufi, fasolari, "spuénze", "javatúne", cozze nere, and much more!)

The Franky Experience by Santa Caterina in Taranto, located near the Co-Cathedral, was a delightful surprise. The staff was polite and friendly, providing quick and precise service. The food was of impeccable taste and quantity, with an emphasis on quality enhanced by the freshness of the products. (Translated by Google) On the recommendation of many friends, I finally decided to try this restaurant... and I can say that my expectations were far exceeded! The restaurant is meticulously designed and very comfortable, with excellent air conditioning (which isn't a given: many places still suffer from the heat). We started with a mixed appetizer menu that won us over from the first bite: each course was a small marvel, but a special mention goes to the tempura shrimp, simply delicious and a must-try. The first courses lived up to the appetizers: from the meat dishes to the seafood risotto, cooked to perfection and prepared with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. For the second course, the fried calamari was incredibly light, dry, and flavorful, one of the best I've ever had. And then... the desserts. In traditional restaurants, they're often the weak point, with bland and frozen options, but here they're all artisanal and uniquely delicious. Of those I've tasted, the "Torta Franky" with ricotta and chocolate chips deserves a special place: I don't think I've ever tasted anything so good. All this was accompanied by impeccable service, attentive to every detail and always smiling. Right now, Franky Experience (or "Santa Caterina" to the locals) is my favorite restaurant in Taranto: a wide selection of dishes (they also make pizza, which unfortunately we didn't have the chance to try), excellent quality, and an atmosphere that can accommodate even the largest of tables. An experience I highly recommend. E poi… i dolci.
Mattia F — Google review
(Translated by Google) A flawless seafood experience! The seafood risotto was just the right amount of creamy, with a perfect balance of saltiness and seafood aroma—you could taste every ingredient, from the shrimp to the squid, all so fresh. The mixed fried fish was crispy, dry, and light, truly well-made: the shrimp and squid were golden brown without being greasy. The service was kind and attentive, and the wine was served at the perfect temperature. A well-kept restaurant, with generous, high-quality dishes. A lunch that reconciles seafood cuisine done right.

Went there for dinner with friends who were hosting us for the weekend. The location is very nice and the hotel has a nice decor. The antipasti and primeri were nice but then it took them an hour to bring the fish, which was clearly rushed as they didn't descale the fish, I was still picking them out of my teeth later that evening. So while the dinner started well it went downhill fast.

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Castello Aragonese, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Colonne del Tempio Dorico (VI sec. a.C.). All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Fortress
Located on the island of Borgo Antico, at the entrance to the bay surrounding Taranto, Castello Aragonese is one of Italy's oldest and most grandiose sights. Built between 1487 and 1492 by Ferdinand II of Aragon, it replaced an earlier Norman structure. The castle offers guided tours by the Italian Navy and features two cafes and a bookshop.
The entrance is free, it is at fixed times, it is a navy museum and the tour is guided by a navy guide. I recommend that you make a reservation so that you don't have emotions, we didn't know and we didn't, but we were still allowed access, I think it's related to the number of visitors at that time. The guide's explanations are interesting and complete, in Italian anyway, but you can still take pictures of the castle, the interior models, the surroundings and enjoy the sunset if you are at the right time.
Adriana H — Google review
The castle are still a functional and working marine barracs, so you have to take the free tour. Otherwise no entry. It didn't work with our schedule

Astonishing scenes of old and new. The Ponte Girevole (swing bridge ) opens for ships and connects too seas. Castello has free tours but in Italian only
Karine K — Google review
Entry is only by the free guided tour at set times during the day and evening. It is still an Italian Navy facility therefore the restrictions. It is still is worth viewing from the outside. We couldn’t wait 2 hours for the next tour so we had to skip it. Definitely would do it next time.
Simon R — Google review
A very nice visit at the castle. A navy official provides a guided tour for free (in Italian) every hour. The tour gives information over the history of Taranto and the castle. I found it very informative and entertaining. I would recommend doing it if you are visiting Taranto. Also I was amazed that by the sunset, they displayed the Italian flag with lights on one of the sides of the Costello while playing some anthem (I wish I knew what was it), I loved that moment.
Babysooz — Google review
A beautiful castle belongs to the Italian navy, but an unpleasant surprise awaited us, you must have booked a tour guide, that's the only way you can enter...!!! It doesn't even matter so it's worth a visit. Highly recommended.

The sculpture, which is about seven meters high and stands on a pedestal, depicts two sailors in the act of greeting the boats that are about to cross the waterway linking the Great Sea with the Baltic Small, lifting up the Typical cap with his right hand. The work seamlessly with the old railings of the course on which two seas are subject to a five-pointed star emblem of the Navy and the Savoy, and expresses the indissoluble link between the city and the many soldiers who still work there.

Contrary to city's classic (and run down) environment, this is a very modern sculpture. It represents mariners waiving with joy for the passing vessels. History Museums
The National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, also known as Marta, is a treasure trove that chronicles the rich history of Taranto through an impressive collection of artifacts. Established in 1887, it stands as Apulia's first territorial museum and has evolved significantly over the years. Visitors can explore items ranging from Paleolithic carvings to vessels from the early Middle Ages.
Magnificent museum with a wealth of findings from local excavations (particularly from the Greek necropolis of Taras) as well as a very informative exposition about the early mycenian and greek settlements in the area, the Roman annexation of Taras, reaching up to the medieval era. The findings are presented in two floors. One should follow the map provided by the friendly employees at the entrance to see the exposition in chronological order. The absolute highlights here are the extensive and very well-preserved pottery collection, the tomb of the pentathlon athlete, as well as the intricate handcrafted jewelry that has been unearthed. Other interesting findings include some Roman era mosaics and written laws, as well as large coin hoards from various eras. Additionally, the museum currently holds a temporary exhibition about Penelope and the Odyssey in a broader historical and art context. About the museum itself, it is wheelchair accessible and the ticket for one adult costs 10 Euros (in my opinion, well worth the price). Descriptions are available in Italian and English, and there is the option of an audio tour. There are clean bathrooms on every floor. For a complete visit of all exhibits, estimate 2-3 hours in total. All in all, a must-see in Taranto for history and archeology enthusiasts as well as for anyone seeking to understand the many-layered history of this ancient city! Grazie mille!

This museum and Museo Sigismondo Castromediano in Lecce will give you excellent overview of the history of this region. It is impressive what artefacts they have from Ancient Greek and Roman times. The collection comes mostly from necropolis. Definitively worth a visit, we were in November and we were the only people here while visiting the museum … If you buy ticket for MUDI you will get discount for this museum and vice versa. Kudos to friendly stuff.
Dorota K — Google review
What a gem! Such a beautiful collection. The highlights for us included the collection of Medusa faces and the incredible array of jewelry. A couple of lovely temporary exhibitions rounded it out. Worth the visit and a good audio guide as well.
Kim L — Google review
This is one of the most surprising and jaw dropping museums I have ever visited. I would very rarely suggest driving hours out of your way for a museum but if you are a fan of Greco-Romano culture this gas artefacts that are just outstanding. The audio guide gives you a pretty good background but I could have spent hours and hours here - instead we only spent 2.5 hours in this museum as it was just so overwhelming. The athletes section is amazing, especially if you have an interest in pan-Atheneum games.
Avril J — Google review
Pretty good for the history before BC, but minimal history after that! I really enjoyed the videos and want more of them to give 5 stars. I went on a Sunday and it wasn’t crowded. But don’t use the elevator/lifts is you have a fear of small, packed , and hot stuffy spaces.
Patrick C — Google review
We spent a couple of hours here and it was worth every penny - a really epic display of history with so many items and so much detail! The huge mosaics were a highlight. Even though it wasn't applicable to us we also appreciated the accessibility with several sensory exhibits for people without vision, and ramps and lifts.
Wen T — Google review
Incredible museum in Taranto - boot of Italy, that traces it's history from 800 BC through the Grecco Roman Period. Wonderfully displayed artifacts which guide you through it's long history. Unfortunately, it is really the only site worth visiting. A pretty old city, but nothing remarkable. But if you find yourself in Taranto, it's well worth your time!

Al Gatto Rosso is a renowned seafood eatery in Taranto, known for its hot seafood salad and variations of traditional Puglian dishes like spaghetti with Taranto clams. The restaurant has been run by the same family since the 1960s. It's an upscale restaurant that offers a wide selection of Puglian wines to pair with seasonal seafood dishes.
Classy and comfortingly welcoming, excellent quality in the kitchen and amiable service. The povera pasta dishes are sumptuous and there's a wine list as deep as the nearby harbour. Nearly missed out to a large office booking, even in a sweltering midday midweek so it seems advisable to book ahead.

Decent food, bad service. The waiter seemed to believe my wife should order the same dish as I did, and sort of insisted on it. There were ppl coming and going in the restaurant, who are neither customers nor staff. It seemed strange.
Desmond S — Google review
We actually had a quick lunch at Al Gatto Rosso on a saturday. We didn2t have a reservation but they had availability. It wasn't spectacular but we really enjoyed the dishes we had. Based on our experience with the service and the fodo we had, we would totally come back and recommend.
Cem Y — Google review
The food was delicious, well presented, and gluten-free options were available. It is some of the best fish I have eaten in my life. However, there was only one waiter, and when more tables arrived, the service did become slow. Apart from that it was a good dining experience.
Loraine W — Google review
Absolutely amazing place. Known particularly for its seafood, Gatto Rosso actually stands out in every respect, from the incredibly welcoming, kind, and competent staff to the classy decor and, of course, the top-notch cuisine. As an Italian, I can safely say that Gatto Rosso represents the best of our hospitality. Don't miss it if in Taranto!

The quality of the "crudi" that means raw fish such as Oyster , shrimp and sea bass is astonishing . Wearing can be long but worth it. Anything you eat is prepared with care and dedication. Price middle high range 35 to high. 4 star just for the messy service

Fascinating hidden ruins of an ancient Greek temple in the heart of Taranto. Only a few columns and foundations remain, but the site tells a powerful story of the city’s ancient past. Worth a stop for history lovers.
Manea A — Google review
The column itself is fine but the area is very sad and very run down. It is really nothing like the pictures. The buildings are falling down yet people are living there with blown out windows and rusty supports. It felt dangerous to walk around the rectangular harbor/historic district. There's trash and graffiti and vagabonds everywhere. I hope Taranto can use Italy's visitor tax to make improvements for its citizens and to preserve the history of this long-lived city.

What an amazing find. We were searching for mussels Taranto style and found Gerry e Nicola. The food is fantastic. We started with the antipasti do mare. Omg what a feast. Octopus, mussels. Chicory times to and anchovies, mackerel with red onion, prawn salad. All beautiful. Then we of course had the mussels.tasty delicious. The service was attentive without being intrusive. A must in Taranto.

I had the pleasure to dine here and get served by Francesco who provided excellent service and guided me to the local specialties and treats. The raw (similar to sushi) sea bass was excellent as well as the by Francesco recommended muscles. I think this a must when visiting Taranto and wanting a genuine experience!

Truly amazing restaurant! The service, food, atmosphere - everything was above and beyond. We ended up going this restaurant twice during our short visit in Taranto. We saw people picking up fresh fish they want to eat and it was cooked freshly and your server bring it to the table, show how they clean the fish in front of you and serve the fillet. This was awesome experience. We tried many dishes, everything was on top-notch. The dessert lemon sorbet - it was perfect to clean up your mouth. Highly recommend this restaurant and don’t forget to make a reservation before you go.

Todd — Google review
What an experience! I said to myself I have to share it with others. First, four of us came in after some research for seafood while driving, in a beach attire, with no reservation, for lunch. And we got seated ( I apologized for shorts and flip flops ). We ordered seafood crudo and octopus from appetizers and for some strange reason they took away the menus. We got the menus back - after realizing the appetizers were not in some ridiculous amount - but it was the strangest thing. Now all the food we ordered was sublimely delicious and beautifully plated. It is probably a culture thing like constantly spilling wine when pouring glasses and throwing plates as if they are made of plastic, or combining two orders of the same seafood pasta dish into one big one and separating onto two plates one of which being the original big bowl - just a bit strange. Great food and a culture adventure! Highly recommend.

(Translated by Google) As a potential theatergoer from out of town, I visited the Teatro Orfeo website to purchase tickets online. This feature was unavailable on November 4th; therefore, I attempted to contact them by phone, but the connection was cut off. My WhatsApp message was met with a terse reply that the ticketing campaign had already begun, but I received no explanation on how to purchase tickets online. I'll try again in a few days, in case I can't resolve the issue on my own, otherwise we'll be doing without each other. Last month, I was told at the box office that non-subscriber ticket sales would begin on October 1st. Then, when I called, they told me the sales had been moved to the 10th (Friday). I went to the box office when it opened and...surprise! They told me the sales had been moved to Monday. They added that this had been announced on the theater's website. The MUDI - Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art in Taranto, inaugurated in 2011, is housed in the beautifully restored former archiepiscopal seminary. The museum showcases various works of art including paintings and sculptures on precious stones. Visitors can also enjoy a breathtaking view from what is described as the most beautiful window in the world inside a museum.

We give 5 starts for the excellent employees and peacefulness of the place. Thank you Mrs Ciara. If you are interested in Christian museums and Saint Cataldo, this is definitely interesting. Pay attention to the biggest topaz in the world and unique paining with mussels taint. If you buy ticket here you get discount to MARTA Museum and vice versa.

(Translated by Google) Worth visiting. The structure, renovated and well cared for, houses the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art. The museum is divided into several floors but when we entered only the first one could be visited (which is why the ticket was reduced to €3). The highlight is certainly the enormous topaz considered the largest in the world. The work weighs 1.5 kg and is almost 20 cm high, it was initially quarried in Brazil and it took 10 years to make it! Also important and always on the first floor is the small golden cross of San Cataldo which was found on the body of the saint in the 11th century. The guy at the entrance was also very kind! You can also buy some magnets and there are interesting books for sale! Museum that must be discovered! (Original) Da visitare.

(Translated by Google) The museum itself is beautiful - 6 euros is a lot, but it's worth it. The treatment and organization are lacking. I wasn't offered the combined ticket, which I would have definitely bought for 12, including 4 sites, instead of paying 1 for 6 euros. As a museum-savvy tourist, as long as Taranto and Puglia are this disorganized, you'll never attract the tourists these places deserve. There were only 2 of us in the museum on 3 floors. Many cracks and poor maintenance.

(Translated by Google) Interesting, with some remarkable pieces, such as the Cross of San Cataldo; the world's largest ruby (originally 4 kg, now 2 kg), exquisitely engraved; numerous precious sacred art objects in coral, ivory, and gemstones; the extremely rare byssus thread; numerous beautiful ancient garments, spun and painted; and much more. There are also lovely views of the harbor from the windows. The welcome was friendly, but a guide would certainly be helpful to better understand the significance of the individual items on display, as I was fortunate enough to have, since I was the only visitor at the time (or they should print out some folders highlighting certain pieces and details). It's worth it, even though €6 isn't cheap, but they explained to me that the ticket includes the €2 discount I would have received for the Archaeology Museum, which indeed was the case.

The Museo Ipogeo Spartano di Taranto is a historic underground chamber located on the waterfront, offering guided tours and rich historical information. I travelled from England to visit this museum. Sadly, my flight got delayed, and my train was also delayed. It meant I got there 2 hours late and missed the entry time. It's only open for a short time once a week. I understand why, but it was very frustrating. One day, one day.

Basile, an Italian restaurant known for its authentic cuisine, offers a generous selection of appetizers. While they do have some frozen fish dishes, these are clearly indicated on the menu. The staff at Basile is incredibly friendly and accommodating, even providing an English menu for convenience. During lunchtime, patrons can enjoy their delicious pizzas. One dessert that shouldn't be missed is the gelato cup with amaretto biscuit, cherry jam, and red wine.
Had the best meal in Puglia here. Cozze and especially the spaghetti ricci were the best we've ever had. We were scrambling to find a restaurant that wasn't booked solid on this Sunday. Apparently it's a big family lunch day for locals because everything was booked solid. It was booked here as well, and as we walked away in despair, the manager suddenly calls us back and says he'll put out another table on the sidewalk for us.OMG we were soooo grateful, especially because this turned out to be the best meal in Puglia. Basile Luzzi will always remain in our hearts for its amazing food and incredible kindness. Thank you Basile Luzzi!

Cchiù mange e cchiù iesse pacce is a charming restaurant tucked away in the narrow streets of the historical center, offering a delightful dining experience. The Frittura di Paranza, a dish of fried fish, was described as perfectly cooked with a crispy and fresh texture. The pasta with fish tomato sauce, Cavatelli al sugo di pesce, was also highly recommended.

A real orgy of food in Taranto - I recommend choosing the tasting menu: oysters, cockles, mussels - crudo, octopus salad, anchovies, fried cheese balls, grilled tiger prawns, seafood in a hairstyle, stuffed mussels, stuffed St. Jacob, gnocchi with panchetta with nuts, risotto with seafood. Finally, lemon sorbet. And all this for EUR 35 (without wine).

Asked for a menu, never arrived. Waiter almost insisted I had a seafood pasta dish which was very good but a menu would have helped. I have very little Italian, when it is written down I can cope. He had zero English. Card machine failed, a regular occurrence from the reaction of the staff.
Derek J — Google review
Delicious food in a small back alley. The staff doesn't really speak English so you either take out your best Italian or you simply choose something from the menu. My mussels which I had has a starter were extremely fresh and the pasta was great, too.
Claudio — Google review
I went there with a group of friend for holiday. We’ve lived in so many Countries around the world but this is absolutely the worse restaurant I ever ate. We waited for the food for much more than 1 hour. When we were about to order the waiter asked to choose just between two types of food because the chef didn’t want to cook anymore (?!). During the waiting time we’ve ordered something to drink, and we had to ask for it literally 10 times (😂)! Over this, they didn’t even have any option for allergy/vegetarian/vegan etc. So in the end (until I have an allergy) they apparently could just serve me a plain pasta with tomato... After this ridiculous lunch, we went to pay and “casually” the bancomat didn’t worked so, after trying and insisting with the card, we all had to pay with cash (who lives in Italy know what it means). And for last, in the bill they put a 6€ “supplemento” for my “out from menu” pasta. So in the end the experience was very bad, I won’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. When I go to eat in a restaurant I expect: 1 the staff to be polite and kind with the clients; 2 that I can choose between the food on the menu; 3 until in 2020 there are so many diets and topology of allergy, I expect there is at least one opinion for everyone, so I don’t have to annoy asking the ingredients of everything and in the end just to eat a plain pasta; 4 I expect I can pay with the card because taxes are not just for north of Italy, but also for south of Italy.
Chiara S — Google review
After a nice trip to the Aragonese castle, we went to this little restaurant hidden in the narrow streets of the historical center. The place was empty for lunch, so the preparation was fast. We took "frittura di paranza" (fried fish) and "cavatelli al sugo di pesce" (pasta with fish tomato sauce) with a bottle of white wine. The Frittura di Paranza was perfectly cooked with good oil, very crispy and fresh! All was good !

La Paranza is a charming trattoria that offers a delightful dining experience overlooking the port. Guests can savor delectable dishes such as mussels, seafood pasta, grilled fish, octopus salad, lobster paccheri, and seafood spaghetti.
Fantastic locale, friendly, cheerful and heartfelt service! Our server was fantastic, went through the menu explaining each dish and helped pick the perfect dinner for us. The local fish carpaccio was so fresh and unlike anything I've had yet. The antipasti sampler was a delicious variety of flavours, and the daily chef's special of red shrimp stuffed tortellini was out of this world. The flavors were so clean and distinct, balanced and well thought out. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area, local or tourist!

Apparently not a place you should visit as a non-italian speaking tourist. After waiting for quite a while we were presented the menu, the waiter that took our order couldn't even bring himself to smile and seemed rather annoyed. We asked if one of the starters (for 20€) was enough to share for two people, he said it was. It ended up beeing maybe 8 small pieces of raw fish with a tasteless tomatosauce. After the starter arrived, we waited and waited. Tables around us, even those that arrived after us (and all full with locals, i suppose) were served their primi, their secondi while we just sat there, getting more and more impatient. After beeing there for 1,5 hrs and only beeing served one plate of antipasti in that time we asked how long it would still take. Just minutes later our order came, giving us the feeling we were completely forgotten and only just now remembered. When the food arrived, the plates were basically thrown at the table without a single word or even an excuse. The food was good, but nothing special especially for the price they ask, it didn't make up the overall experience. My partner has been here months ago with a group of locals and the experience then was very different - that's why he wanted to come back in the first place but sadly it was a huge disappointment. We won't come again.

Port right in the middle of the city. We pass through this port to see other attractions in taranto. There is a bridge in this port which connects the city to other parts. We get to see lot of yachts lined up which we can rent it and go for a private ride. Ferry to San Pietro island is also in this port.

(Translated by Google) The historic center of Taranto is located on a small island reachable via the swing bridge (called Ponte San Francesco di Paola, one of the symbols of the city) and the old stone bridge (or Porta Napoli). Walking through the narrow and winding alleys of the ancient village is truly fascinating... unfortunately some historic buildings are in a state of ruin and abandonment... There would be a lot to do to re-evaluate a beautiful city that was the capital of Magna Graecia. The wonderful cathedral of San Cataldo and the Doric columns. I was surprised to see so many young people and others riding their scooters without helmets.

Jonian Dolphin Conservation is a renowned marine research team that operates in the waters around Puglia, focusing on observing and safeguarding the dolphins of the Ionian Sea. Participants can join the crew aboard the 12-meter-long Lady-Hawke catamaran to engage in marine research activities using advanced monitoring equipment. This includes photographing dolphin fins, recording their sounds, and collecting oceanic environmental data.
My sister who works as a marine biologist has been recommending me to take part in this small journey for the past two years. It was incredible to discover how many beautiful creatures we can find in their amazing habitat, and the work that the guys are doing is essential in order to study the dolphins, to preserve their territory and to guarantee them a safe future. I was born in Taranto and I rarely come back to visit, but after this experience I understood that my land has a lot more to offer than I could imagine. I hope to come back to visit soon. A massive thanks to Monica and Alessandro, I really appreciated the way you treated all guests, and I'm also thankful for having seen you keeping the sea clean from potential dangers like plastic and fishing nets.

This was an absolutely fantastic experience. Initially I was worried about spending 5 hours on a boat but the time flew so quickly that we didn't even realize it. We were lucky to see dolphins, turtles, and many other species on the surface, this is not always possible though and does not depend on the crew... The members of the association were so helpful and polite, they revealed so many details of their work and were careful to answer each of our questions. I was amazed at how respectful they are in regards to the sea life. Make sure to book your trip in advance and get ready to see unforgettable sequences of marine life!

An amazing experience. It is magnificent to see the beauty, power and elegance of those wonderful creatures. It is unbelievable how close they came to our observation deck and seeing them in their natural environment and behaviour made us simply speechless. The local guides on board are very skilled biologists and they really know what they are talking about. An appropriate English translation was offered, which makes it a wonderful half-day trip also for non-italian speakers like us. We would join this trip for sure the next time we visit Puglia. A big thanks to the entire staff.

This excursion was definitely a highlight of our trip to Italy. It was well organized and highly informative. Being able to observe these dolfins in their natural habitat was like nothing I had ever experienced. The well being of these animals is of paramount importance to the staff and crew. When we would come upon a family of dolfins they would shut off the catamaran's engine and ask us to speak quietly so as to not agitate the animals. It was an amazing opportunity and one that I would highly recommend.
Cybèle D — Google review
A day that we will always remember and changed our perspective forever. We spent the day with the association on their boat with our 3 daughters (the youngest is 4), and it was amazing. We could see more dolphins that we could dream of (stripped and buttlenose dolphins), playing and jumping in front of our boat. The association members are passionate and do everything to transmit their love for cetaces' and explain how to protect them. The dolphins were never attracted by food or tracked down. If they seem shy, we just stopped following them but the stripped ones were amazingly curious. Even though everyone else spoke English, Juli was kind enough to translate everything for us, which made the tour as educational as it was impressive. Just remember that you need to bring your lunch (drinks are provided for) and sunscreen. No need for swimming equipment since it is no allowed to swim with the dolphins.
Virginie G — Google review
We went on the 20/7 and saw 2 large groups of dolphins (more than 50 in total). It was an amazing and beautiful experience to see them in their natural habitat. The crew is passionate and dedicated to nature preservation and they share their passion with all passengers. A wonderful way to increase awareness on how to help dolphins at individual level. Thank you for you work!

Don’t be fooled by first impressions. The outside looks like just another small cathedral. Walking in it all seems rather plain. You must go further, the ceiling and stone floor near the altar are interesting. You must go to the right side and to the big chapel. That is where the amazement is. A stunning ceiling painting, statues and wall decorations. Don’t miss the crypt either. It is only open to 12:45 in the morning and then in the evening. It is closed in the afternoon, so you need to plan your visit there. It is free to enter.

Very average food, maybe even below average. Tasteless seafood. A lot of fried seafood starters that just take away the taste of the seafood. Even tho they have a fridge with fresh seafood, seems like they have trouble with understanding how seafood is supposed to be served. Ordering is a struggle, only one person taking the orders on a full lunch. Would definitely try to find something else around the area. House wine was good, the rest was just disappointing. Clams are super small with no taste. The sauce from the clams is inexistent. The prices are decent, but for the quality of food served is expensive.

Seeing the nice looking fresh fish counter just inside the restaurant and a look at recent Google reviews it sounded good, and it was. The seafood antipasti arrived super quick and was really nice, the mussels were the best I've ever have. My second dish of fried fish was also the best I've had, so soft and delicate, gorgeous.

I went to this Italian restaurant, supposedly specialized in seafood, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The food was average at best and the service was terrible – there is no care for the customer, staff don’t listen or take the time to explain. The seafood, although fresh (seen in the fridge), was poorly cooked, tasteless, and lacked any technique. The wine itself wasn’t bad, but it was served in a chipped mug, which once again shows the lack of attention to detail. Hygiene also leaves much to be desired and is far from the standards of a good restaurant. Overall, a very bad experience. Definitely not recommended – avoid this place.

Very good fresh seafood. Good choice of both seafood and fish. One can come and choose the products from the ... kind of fridge and the aquarium. There is an English menu. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The food is great! The raw seafood is gorgeous. The fish was every good too. The wine is tasty and cheap. The 🍰 (with ricotta cream) was great. We are on vocation in Italy and go to different places and cities every day. Still I'll do my best to come back to this restaurant before we go back home.

4 of us ate here at short notice. Very helpful staff bearing in mind that 2 of the party have food issues. Nothing was too much trouble and the seafood was first class. Highly recommended

I’m so happy we randomly found this place! All the fish was super fresh and delicious, highly recommend risotto, takes a little while to prepare but it worth it

Lovely food and nice atmosphere. The antipasto was absolutely delicious with very generous portions. As a main I had the grilled mixed fish which was outstanding! We will definitely come back when in Taranto!

Disappointed with the lack of taste, nothing was horrible but nothing was exciting. Maybe we had been spoiled traveling through Albania the week before.

Best place ever. Food: incredible; service: top quality. I would eat here every day, this is the real traditional food from Taranto/Puglia

Excellent sea food restaurant with friendly staff. As tourists from a landlocked country we enjoyed watching fresh seafood delivered to the restaurant straight from the wharf.

Worst experience we had in Italy. We were a little late due to a delayed tour but still unacceptable. Pasta was passable but underseasoned, everything I ordered was out, again fair enough as we were late, but I went with the waiters suggestion. Family's food arrived, I waited a good 20 minutes and when I enquired where my food was I was told they were out of it. That was the pinnacle of the awful service but just generally awful. They turned off the a/c while we were in. Avoid like the plague, in fact the plague would be preferable.
