Impressive,monumental cathedral in every sense of the word. With highly detailed, intricate sculptures piling on every inch of the building, it is a stunning, beautiful structure all around. There is a large tent set up in the front currently, perhaps for a reception or important event, it obstruct part of the front view. Walk around and to the back, the design continues to impress. There are cafe shops, restaurants and fast food takeout, pastries, souvenir shops nearby. The uniquely frrncg architecture, medieval looking town is so quaint and pretty to visit. Wear comfortable shoes as the town is walkable and all cobblestoned, it can be hard on the feet after a while. There are several other great attractions earby such as the large clock, Jeanne D'Arc church...all are must-see monuments. I didn't go inside the cathedral (not religious) just love European flares, history and art.

The church is beautiful and impressive! You can spend a good time admiring all the details on it. During the evening (10:30pm) they had a light show - it was SO BEAUTIFUL. It had history and beauty in the show and it was captivating. It’s for free, you just need to get around the church and enjoy the free experience. Highly recommend.

Huge impressive cathedral. Tribute to Jeanne d'Arc. Unfortunately, some parts have been distroyed in WW2, and renovated using concrete, and glass windows, instead of vitrages.

I'm always amazing at how wonderful these ancient cathedrals are. The building of them is outstanding with none of our modern equipment. Stunning.

Glorious cathedral both inside and out and the 10:30 light show was worth the wait. There are so many intricate designs and figures throughout the building that you could spend hours just checking them out.

Well worth the time if you’re visiting. Excellent presentations of ancient events. The translation devices worked well. Two tips make sure volume is up and don’t put the receiver in your pocket. It seems to have a small aerial which you can see but the unit struggles if this is obscured. Much more knowledgeable after the tour.

A really impressive modern exhibition about Joan of Arc’s life, full of projections, 3D visualizations, and a strong immersive vibe. The beginning feels like a historical movie you actually get to step inside. Later parts are more traditional, with documents and classic displays. Still, the whole experience holds together well — even those who skipped history class will walk away understanding why Joan remains such a legendary figure.

Very interesting museum leading you through a retrial of Joan. Very immersive exhibits where you are lead through multiple rooms each with projections. Also set in the bishop's palace so included access to some rooms at the end with great views of the city.

I would have given 5 stars for this attraction about the life and death of Joan of Arc but as it’s a video exhibition in French you need to wear a headset. Whilst this doesn’t bother me you really have to have it loud to drown out the French audio on the video. Some great rooms and views of Rouen though, don’t be afraid to try doors to get into the chapel (see picture).

Rather than a museum, it is a linear, immersive tour presented in multiple stages by means of a light/projection show while traversing up and around through the palace’s rooms and towers. The entire experience has high production value and very comprehensively explains the history of Jeanne D’Arc from beginning to end. I did not know about the place in advance so I was pleasantly surprised at the presentation. Highly recommended for those who want to learn in a more dynamic fashion.

We luckily arrived right before a session was starting so didn’t have to wait before beginning. The concept is a multimedia presentation that takes place over several rooms that a large tour group moves through. Every session is the same, presented over loud speakers with projected visuals that were quite cool. If you want a translated audio, it is included in the price of your ticket. The headphones don’t actually sit in your ears and sometimes it was quite hard to tune out the French (especially if you mostly understand that too) to hear the translation. It was a bit of a sensory overload. In at least one quarter of the rooms there is not enough seating for the whole group, so if you have accessibility needs be sure to speak up to get a seat. It is largely wheelchair accessible although the main group takes lots of winding stairs. The story is told through actor portrayals of Joan’s contemporaries and is quite engaging. We did learn a lot, but still had some unanswered questions at the end (why was she called Joan of Arc?). Overall I think this is worth a visit if you want a different museum experience, you have kids, or you know very little about Joan of Arc. I would have been happier to pay slightly less for the experience.

This was a cemetery in the Middle Ages but little is to be seen of that except the decoration on the walls of the court and a mummified cat in a glass window. It has then become a school and now it seems to be a meeting spot for art activities. There are boards explaining the history of the place. Unluckily the restaurant was closed as we visited.

Incredible cool museum, the works of art are beautiful and the choice of the color of the walls is so spot on! So much to see. Most incredible part is that there is no entrance fee!!

It is a place for whom want to deep dive into history, art, culture in old France. I loved the ceramics, history of ceramics, also there is Cafe Hamlet. But expect so many people.

Unmissable if in the area. Well kept courtyard (a cemetery in the Middle Ages) and sculptural columns. Now converted into an art space with a crafts shop.

This is an amazing location with a very cool history. There is a little restaurant inside (which we didn't go to so I can't review it) but we mostly just walked around, enjoying the calm as well as the very interesting historical carved decorations.

An interesting history and surprising modern uses. Well worth a visit especially to the upstairs galleries and exhibition of clay pottery making.

This is a magnificent clock right by Notre Dame of Rouen. The clock is cool but don't miss the rest of the houses that depict how tax collection policies form the basis of these small base houses with large upper structures. All of these incentives allowed for funky developments in this town. A very interesting place to experience this part of Normandy.

I passed through Square Verdrel on my way to the Musée des Beaux-Arts, and it’s a wonderful park. It’s calm, peaceful, and conveniently located near the main attractions.

This was a great spot to watch the Tour de France. It's in the vicinity of museums and not far from the station but isn't otherwise of much interest.

Google Maps did not lead us astray - this was a great find, but first we DID have to find it! It is accessed through a courtyard via a passageway and not visible from the street, so pay attention to the number 186. We got there at around 11:30AM on a Sunday, and it was fairly empty, but quickly filled up with locals, always a good sign. My wife and I each had the “Le Burger de queue de bœf”, which is not a burger as you would think of it, but shredded oxtail meat presented much like a pulled pork sandwich, on an artisanal brioche bun with greens, tomato, cheese and onion. And served with wedges of roasted potato. It was fabulous but messy, as the sauce tends to drip, so hold it over your plate. We paired this with a draft beer that was the perfect match.

We wanted to try this place on the last day in Rouen. The food was decent, the service was good. The atmosphere was ok, our table wasn’t the best kind of in the middle with a lot of action around. Overall, a good place to try but it was a bit overpriced.

I've been here twice now, it's the perfect weekend lunch with friends or family spot! Prices are a little more than elsewhere, but the location makes it well worth it. The staff also speak English for the most part, we were in a mixed language group this past weekend, and they handled it like pros. Food: Everything was delicious, of course. The first time, I had the Tandoori Burger. This past time, I opted for the Beef Tartar that was dressed in a Thai style. Exquisite. Perfect after a hot day of walking around the city! As a local, there are many good restaurants, but this is the place I bring visitors. Good mix of local ingredients and cool vibes!

Unacceptable conduct from the staff. I am unsure whether it is a policy of the establishment to accommodate customers based on personal preference. I waited in line to be served, while a large family ahead of us was attended to without issue (they were speaking French). However, when I spoke in English — as my French is not at a good level — I was informed that the restaurant was fully booked for today. I find this behavior borderline discriminatory. I truly cannot understand the hype surrounding a place that neither shows respect to its customers nor upholds the level of prestige that its name suggests.

Charming spot in Rouen! The terrace is absolutely lovely and peaceful — perfect on a sunny day. The tea selection is excellent. I tried tea dames and the chocolate peanut cake, and my friend had the Jeanne tea and the framboise cake. They were so delicious. Highly recommend for a cozy afternoon treat near the cathedral!

It is a very enchanting environment. The room is beautifully decorated and there’s something charming everywhere. The display is full of cakes and make you wish all of them. I decided to eat inside and were easily accommodated by the nice staff. We had cakes and tried their hot chocolate. I loved the dark hot chocolate made with water. It was creamy and intense, not too sweet and somehow very light. It was delicious - and I preferred it over the traditional hot chocolate. We also had cakes (lemon with strawberry and pistachio with apricots). They were very good, but I was not amazed. Overall, the experience is really good and I think it’s worthy the visit.

Dame Cake Salon de Thé is one of those spots that seems to show up on every "must-visit" list in Rouen, so naturally, I had to check it out. From the moment you arrive, it’s hard not to be impressed by the beautiful window display filled with tempting pastries. It definitely sets high expectations. We visited around 11 a.m. and were lucky to be seated right away without waiting in line. We already knew what we wanted: the famous Tarte Tatin, served with mascarpone cream, and a crumble with pears and chocolate. Unfortunately, neither dessert lived up to the hype. The tarte tatin had a soggy base and the chocolate in the crumble didn't mix well with the pears, and I honestly couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about—or why people are willing to queue so long to eat here. I rated it 2 stars instead of 3 because of the big disappointment. With so many great places to enjoy desserts in Rouen, I believe there are much better options out there. This one didn’t live up to its reputation for me.

Delightful restaurant with excellent, attentive service. We booked here last minute and were so pleased with our choice. Instead of having a bottle of wine we chose some glasses from the suggested pairings. The petit Chablis was a favorite. The chocolate dessert was sublime!

Very good food, but service was very poor for us. We entered, sat, and after 10 minutes, our order was taken. After 30 minutes, we’d yet to be given even water. Even the diners at the table next to us noted that we were ignored, and made a comment about the failure to serve us, saying it was “a pity” as they ate their appetizers and their main course. Finally was able to pin down our waiter (I had to get up and stand in front of him at the bar until he noticed me), who had clearly forgotten about us. He did not apologize. So, the service was horrendous, but we suspect for some reason aberrational to our table, because everyone else seemed to be getting attention. I went there for a business dinner. The place is very well located. Good food and great drinks. The service is excellent. Everything there is awesome but the Oak smoked steak is a must. I loved the experience there!

We tried côte du porc which is very tender with very good taste. Potatoes seasoned with jambons are very yummy as well. Only a pity that the portion is a bit small for a man. Without many veggies, we ordered another plat de vegans …which is a bit greasy and too cooked. It the resto adds another piece of meat even at a bit higher price, it will be perfect!

Good place for a shopping. Christmas décorations were really good. Need to take à bus from centre of Rouen to reach here. It's located next to the Rouen river. They has many offers during festival time. If you are in Rouen, don't forget to visit here.

So that's a mall. It definitely looks like US malls - at least the ones I'm used to - albeit much smaller. Also, most of the stores are clothes stores. I know, that sounds a bit ridiculous as a comment but well, it did shock me. Movie theater's great though, although quite pricey.

This is a niche mall skewed towards fashion. The restaurants are less generic than in most malls, for example there's a crêperie. Parking is free for first 3h. Try not to go over since the next minute will cost you €1.80, but after that it's about €1.50 an hour. Leave time to get out of the parking, there can be queues.

A must see in Rouen, Yadegar Aziz and his team has done an amazing work visualizing the city Rouen in an breathtaking artwork. It give the visitor the feeling it is reliving Rouen from centuries ago

I recommend purchasing the combo ticket for the Panaroma XXL and the more interactive Historial Jeanne D'Arc museum for €15. This giant silo houses an incredibly detailed panorama painting of what Rouen would have looked liked in 1431.

The Titanic display at the Panorama was simply marvellous. We spent ages in there. Highly recommended.

May 2025, This is billed as an immersive experience, so I expected to be drawn into some sort of scenario or interactive experience, which makes you feel part of the viking era. The first room had 4 monitors with videos to start the journey. After that, you move from room to room and sit at a bench lift a listening earpiece, and another video plays. This is the same for the whole visit. The only intesting part was the small screen to one side that offered some explanations about vikings. My partner reads a lot about vikings and the culture. Sadly, this place really does not provide a worthwhile experience. To provide a context th vikings centre in York is an all together better and more worthwhile experience.

It was very good but the audio was all in French with English subtitles and my son, while an excellent reader, struggled to keep up with the pace. My daughter who is 4 did not really understand what was going on!! However, they both enjoyed the interactive parts of the tour and we found it to be a fun, informative experience overall.

Very interesting and entertaining, perfect for children and families. The boutique is equally great with local craft work and Norman beer and calvados.

We enjoyed this interactive exhibition. It is well made and gives good amount of historical information about Normandy history and its connections to Vikings. Kids will also find it interesting.

Au Bureau can vary with respect to service and food quality. Recently we were treated like the server was put out. One time a server said there isn't tartar sauce for fish n chips but then finds it magically. Kind of pricey for standard food

I visited this beautiful area , the river with the boats were beautiful at night , the atmosphere on the promanad was brilliant , but I was very disappointed when I entered this bar / restaurant , I only wanted a coffee and my friend wanted an Irish Coffee , I'm Irish and I was shocked to see what they were serving as an Irish coffee!! and the price of it was way over the top , we had waited over half hour for our coffees and what they served was far from an Irish coffee , we complained and the waiter took it back and poured more whiskey into it which made the cream sink like a stone , very disappointed.

Was there in a party of 4. Service was awful. After waving at disinterested staff for 5 minutes to get their attention, I resorted to having to stand up and call out if anyone could offer us any assistance. That did get a response but not really an ideal approach. The food was lukewarm at best. The frites were cold to lukewarm. The steak was inedible and had to be sent back. We were set to have desserts but we decided that this place had had enough of our hard earned cash and didn’t deserve any more. I can’t believe that a restaurant that holds out so much promise in the way that it is presented is so poorly run that it forgets that their customers - all of them - deserve a decent quality of service for the high prices that they charge. A planned meal there for a large group has been cancelled and we’ll go elsewhere.
