Parc de la Pépinière, also known as La Pep by locals, is a lush 21-hectare park nestled in the heart of Nancy's historic center. Originally a royal nursery established by Stanislas, it was transformed into a public park in 1835 while preserving its original layout. The park features wooded areas, a stunning rose garden, and a grid of alleys flanked by flowerbeds and statues including one by Auguste Rodin.
A beautiful and peaceful park in the heart of Nancy, with lots of shadow and green light. Perfect for walking, relaxing, or enjoying a picnic. There’s also delicious food available, a lovely rose garden, and a small animal park – great for all ages and a true highlight of the city!

Located in the centre of Nancy next to Place Stanislas, the Pépinière park is a wonderful green place for families and couples. It has a rose garden, a mini zoo where peacocks freely wander around, a great playground, sports field, merry-go-round and children's rides. It also has a small cafe and ice cream stand. There are many floral displays, also wooden architecture exhibitions and beautiful paths with ancient and exotic trees for a stroll. Magnificent and calming place.!

A good place to relax. Extensive trails on 21 acres. There are several gardens including a rose garden. Several rides for children and a band shell for entertainment. Snacks are available at several stands.
Huge park and great ambiance. Situated just beside city centre and good for sports, gatherings etc. We have been to this park few times during our visit to Nancy and enjoyed a lot
I don't think I've seen such a beautiful park during my stay in France. It's clean and well-maintained. It's also possible to have a drink or eat in the park. I recommend it !

Place de la Carrière is a picturesque square with a rich history dating back to the 16th century. It is flanked by historical buildings such as the Palais du Gouverneur and Fermee par l'Arc Here. The square has been a venue for various events, from medieval tournaments to modern-day competitions like the 24 Heures de Stan' and literary events like Le Livre sur la Place.

On 17 July, 2024, my wife and I came here. Coming from Hong Kong, we were very impressed to see the landscape architecture. Having waited for passers-by to walk or cycle past, we captured our sights.
This is a beautiful square located next to Place Stanislas. It consists of numerous World Heritage structures.
The Arc Here, Merchants Exchange, Government Palace, the Beauvau-Craon Hotel, the Here Pavilion and others constructed from the 1500s.
There is a semicircular colonnade decorated with the busts of Olympian gods.
In the center there is an esplanade lined with lime trees and with fountains at each corner. There were races and tournaments along this road.
This is an amazing area. You can now stop for a meal at Louis XV or a drink at LE 15 at the Government Palace.
Very animated in Christmas with christmas shops and cafés and a huge ferris wheel with a view on practically the whole city. A lot of events take place in it too throughout the year like the pride, music festivals, Nancy's book festival and others.

Beautiful square between the Arc Here and the Governant Palace. You always pass by here when walking the historic routes of Nancy.
A very nice place but I am surprised that it is World Heritage listed by UNESCO.
Christmas Market still open after 12/24!! The scale is pretty small,only around fives stalls. Contains some entertainment facilities suitable mainly for kids.

Nestled on the border of Belgium and Luxembourg, in the Meurthe-et-Moselle region known for its famous city Nancy and the UNESCO-listed Place Stanislas, La Maison dans le Parc offers a diverse landscape from Sion Hill to Lorraine Regional Natural Park and the shores of Lake Pierre Percee. The area boasts attractions like the impressive basilica in Saint-Nicolas-de-Port and Vauban's star-shaped fortress in Longwy.
A terrific, leisurely, refined midday meal, especially welcome on May 1, a major holiday in France. It was unseasonably warm, so lunch was on the terrace, no heating necessary, overlooking a very pleasant little park. If it appeals at all, order the pea fantasia or whatever it’s called: 30 preparations of green, snap, and chick peas in one entree, gorgeously presented. Main courses and desserts were almost as good. Traditional French with subtle, unobtrusive Asian accents. Expensive, but the place has a Michelin star for good reasons.

Their foods, service and atmosphere were nice. I'm not the biggest fun for french cuisine but their products reminded me Japan often and I really love it. A little bit salty for me, but i prefer light taste tho. Thank you!!

We stopped here a couple of years ago, pre pandemic (sadly many things have changed during the intervening period), and decided to stop in on this visit to Nancy. On arrival, we learnt the ownership had changed having previously honed their skills in England - yes, I mean it! We opted for the 3 course menu with wine pairing and were not disappointed. The menu was balanced and seasonal. The preparation and presentation inspirational. The service was informed and delightful. The view of the park from the terrace on a lovely summer's evening was a bonus.
What a delightful evening. Highly recommended and look forward to coming again on our next stop though Nancy.
Such a great dinner from the service to the food. Everything was well orchestred in a charming atmosphere. What I appreciated the most was the staff! Young, polite and elegant. They made us feel comfortable. A huge thanks to them.
Excellent cuisine and a very pleasant service in a beautiful environment. Especially beautiful in the evening hours when the lighting is switched on. Excellent wines! All in all very inexpensive for quality.

Beautiful restaurant and good service but the food simply doesn’t live up to expectations. From the first bite of oily, rubbery, deep fried (long before service) noodle canapé to the last bite of several days old madeleine. At any restaurant, most of the dishes sent would not be acceptable, let alone at a Michelin star establishment. I could go on but I don’t want to ramble. I cannot recommend this place.

There is a great special exhibit on the history of graffiti. There are also works by Yayoi Kusama which are also amazing. There are paintings by Perugin, Rubens, Caravaggio, Emile Friant and many others.
Simply an outstanding museum located right on the Place Stanislas. Not to be missed.
Really impressive museum with a lot of amazing pieces and an incredible vase collection. Was a lot of fun to visit.
Prices were (as of July 2023) Free for students or till age 26.
From 27 it costs 10 euros a person.
While the artworks themselves are exceptional and the architectural interior is impressive (plus there are many comfortable seats!), I found the exhibition flow a bit confusing. The sequence felt somewhat disjointed without a clearly suggested route to follow.
Variety is the spice of life and so is this museum. For every style of art there is a painting or object in this museum. The art ranges from the European middle ages through to the modern era, with an Asian art section and a Jewish art section.
What I found exciting is the layout of the floors. It isn't just square rooms with art on the walls... It has nooks and crannies that entice you to explore the whole building. This gives the visitor some unexpected suprises in discovering new, unexpected spaces and art.
In the basement is an ancient wall that was found through archaeological digs, with a huge Daum, art nouveau glass and art deco glass vases up through until modern times. It was a pleasure for the eyes as the collection is colorful and quite extensive.
Throughout the building there are some English translations about, art but it is limited. I would suggest using a Google Lens with translation feature if you aren't fluent in reading French. There is also a museum app that is used for an audiotour, but i didn't use it.
Highly recommended if visiting Nancy.
An eclectic museum with paintings from grandmasters as well as French and other artists. Also decorative glasswork from Daum. And some contemporary exhibitions. Well worth visiting.

The museum entry was free due to the heat wave conditions but it is good value at €10.

The restaurant is really busy and you better reserve before going specially if you want to sit indoors
We were 8 7 of us took the Stanislas menu and one took the other menu
And she was not as lucky as us she ordered quiche loraine which was not good and the chicken was very ordinary
The rest of us really enjoyed the full course
Fillet was top shrimps were humongous and the octopus was very tender
The waiters were very busy to serve everyone but still smiling and hospitable

Great place- fabulous location, quick and friendly service. Simon our waiter was wonderful and a masterclass in up selling! He recommended great dishes and drinks and was very knowledgeable. Very relaxed atmosphere and whilst not exactly low cost it was value for money.
Proper brasserie vibe, with lots of customers, fast and very professional service, and reasonably priced food (if you consider the flashy location right on Place Stanislas). Definitely worth a detour for a lunchtime outing. The fish and steak mains and pavlova dessert all went down very well.
Nice location, you can sit inside an elegant place inside the beautiful Stanislas square. A good dessert, but definitely not a good service. Customer’s attention doesn’t belong to this Café. The staff is not polite and they just fill the place to make money. The tea service is also not in line with the name and the elegance that is supposed to belong to such Café similar to other historical Café in Europe. Definitely a place I will not go back the next times I will be again in Nancy.
The management of this restaurant is not very client friendly. We were directed to a table on the terrace next to the restaurant and then suddenly taken by a different manager to a table on the terrace in the square. He said it was due to the need for a table for seven people but that was a lie. Subsequently there the table we were at was filled with three people. The manager then told us it was due to the need to manage the waitstaff. This manager was very unfriendly and had no ability to care for the client.
The food was relatively good but the experience was not at all good due to the unfriendly nature of the management. The waiter did his best but I would not recommend going to this restaurant given their lack of consideration for the client.
Grand Cafe FoyOur dinner was very good one plate fish and one plate chicken. The atmosphere would have been enjoyable except I think the waiter was having a bad day. The window pinkish colored chairs and table, the seats were uncomfortable, very low to sit in. We asked to move , the restaurant was empty at the time and the waiter rudely moved us to the next table . After a while another couple was seated at the same window table and asked to move. Again he was rude , grabbed one of the chairs and literally tossed it to the side , grabbed a regular chair and she used that. Her husband sat uncomfortable during dinner. All of it seemed unnecessary. We all have bad days, yet customer service is important. We did not return for another meal
Came here without prior reservation. The staff was very welcoming and courteous. They gave us a table at the window on the floor with a wonderful view over the public square.
The food was delicious, and the desserts mouth-watering.
All in all, I recommend this café.
Despite it is very touristic place it is worse visit. Steak Rossini is delicious. Also try their croissants in the morning - one of the best ever

First time at LE TÉM restaurant and I must say it was worth it. The establishment offers three reasonably priced menus, all of which provide high-quality food. The portions are generous, ensuring that you will leave feeling satisfied.
Fist time in this restaurant and what can i say, it was worth it. They have 3 menus, all affordable compared to the quality of the food. The portions are big so no worries, you will definitely be full afterwards. And the most amazing thing is... a dessert buffet with a variety of desserts (crème brûlée, tiramisu, mousse au chocolat, profiteroles, financiers, brownies and fruit salads) i mean heaven on earth 😍 and they all tasted amazing. The service is great and the ambiance is cozy, family friendly and first date friendly.

It was an unexpected delight. The portions are smaller but tastefully presented and each mouthful delicious. The champagne and wine we had were excellent choices to have. My absolute favourite was the dessert buffet. The only thing that could be optimised, the iron chairs make a dreadful noise when moved on the cobblestone pavement outside. A cushion on the outside chair would also make the world of difference. The crockery lovely but also terrible scraping noise as it wasn’t glazed. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Had lunch on a Sunday and everything was delicious! From the atmosphere, over the fast and nice service, to - last but least - the food. Main dish could have been a bit less fat, but the dessert buffet was great again.
First, the positive aspects of our visit: the food was good but not amazing. The negative aspects sadly overweighed our experience due to terrible service. Also I mentioned that I have a gluten allergy (celiac) and they did not listen at all. The water tasted of chlorine and the wine was warm. Have I mentioned the long waiting hours? Everyone coming after us received their food earlier. Quel domage!

Classy and cosy place. Good atmosphere not too calm nor too noisy. Tables are well organised and the food is great. The dessert were amazing. The main course was not my favorite but it was ok. The service was very efficient at the beginning and was slow at the end we waited for 40min between the dessert and coffee that we decided to skip for the the bill. I recommend this place if you have time to enjoy nice food. The salmon gravlax was delicious.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Centre Commercial Saint Sébastien, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Restaurant Pidélice. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Big mall with everything you’re looking for lots of shopping, restaurants, cafes, playgrounds for kids, big supermarket, and sweets/chocolate shops… has alot of entrances and little bit crowded, it’s on the centre and near trains station, nice worker and helpful on every single shop, the mall has great brands, some of them big shops and other small. the mall good for family visits especially for kids to enjoy playgrounds.
Clean but I don't like it. My favourite shops are not in there, and toilets are not free

Like many commercial centers it lacks of places to sit down for a while. It would even be beneficial for the business since one could stay longer being able to test without having to pay for it at a cafe
Worst commercial centre ever. First time in my life I paid for parking and toilet (where even napkins were missing) in a shopping mall. People come here to spend a money and they add extra for these basic services.

Saint Sebastien shopping centre in Nancy is one impressive Commercial Palazzo. It's inside Saint Sebastien Square with Église Saint Sebastien in the main frame. This is one unbelievable collections of shops, from fashion to games, gifts, health and beauty, recreation to grocery shopping. It's right in the centre of this glorious historic old city of Nancy. Great burger with REAL ad tasty meat cooked to the point, good french cheese on top (from umsterilised milk which you don't get often, it really adds to the taste), the fries are perfect. Also, the concept is kinda cool (the facebook-like-machine, the thursday rock-paper-scissors-free-coffee-game) and helped along with super nice and humorous staff.

Ideally located with well maintained distinguished decor. The staff are nice and polite. Typical continental breakfast with fresh bread, pressed orange juice and hot drink. We tried that large plate with a variety of cheeses before going home. This was our preferred breakfast place for the duration of our stay.

Had dinner at Brasserie L'Excelsior in Nancy, and the Art Nouveau interior is absolutely stunning. The ornate ceilings, stained glass, and the central tree installation create a unique and memorable atmosphere.
I ordered the Choucroute Strasbourgeoise as my main dish. It was not bad at all, featuring a generous portion of sauerkraut and assorted meats. However, it didn't particularly stand out in terms of flavor or presentation.
For dessert, I had the Tout Nancy, a local specialty parfait with bergamot and mirabelle. It was pleasant and light, offering a nice regional touch to end the meal.
The service was totally fine, with staff being attentive and courteous throughout the evening.

I decided to visit and thank God I did—we had a wonderful time. Yes, the food indeed took some time but nothing absurd or unusual. Dishes were delicious. We had oysters, the duck and the steak. Everything great. Desserts, ugh. 🤤 The profiteroles + crepe were so, so good. The place itself is beautiful and we had a lovely waitress who made us feel welcome.

The menu features a selection of classic French dishes Soupe à l'Oignon and Steak Tartare. The food is acceptable but not as impressive as its deco.
We had a late breakfast with pastries, coffee and hot chocolate stopping off on the self guided Art Nouveau walking tour.

It’s like time slipping into the Art Nouveau era. Perfect place for a date but a little noisy. Going there early was a good idea o avoid the massive crowd. Food was nice. Choucroute was lovely. The cabbage was perfect, a little on the soft side though.
Highly recommend, definitely worth making a reservation. Food is not too fancy, traditional and fairly priced. Ambiance is amazing, staff is great.
I was about to order two dishes when the waiter stopped me, he was right. I was full after having the Lorraine quiche and the crème brûlée. The brûlée was five times larger than ones I eat in Japan and had a great bergamot scent.
I think you can access to delicious dishes at a reasonable price. I went in around 6pm without a reservation, but if you can, I recommend making a reservation in advance.
Even if you don't speak French, you can feel at ease.

Me and my friends were looking for a place in Nancy to eat on a budget and were not disappointed by Restaurant Pidice. Our entire meal was €36 and it was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was receptive to us not speaking French and was helpful. The owner even came up to our table and asked us where we were from, and thanking us for our service. We will definitely be back again.

So delicious, this place is amazing. I found it when i first time planned the trip to Nancy and i had to visit this place. I am a huge fan of Pide. I tried so many different pides in different places and this is one of the best. It was freshly made from scratch , with fresh and delicious ingredients mixed together. Vegeterian, fish and meat versions are avaliable.

This is a delightful little restaurant. It is owned by a young couple who are kind and passionate about fresh ingredients. My husband and I came for breakfast and were very pleased. Admission to the park is free, entry to the greenhouse is 6.10€ for an adult at the time of writing this review. I didn’t visit the greenhouse, it was in the middle of a heatwave in summer so we just chilled on the benches.

Fabulous place!!! Visited whilst on holiday passing through, the lady behind the dest was very friendly and helpful, gave us a map and a guide to where to go and what to see. The greenhouse are a small charge but if you are a student or teacher you get in free! The rest of the gardens are free to look around, cute little gift shop aswell, only downside is the didn't have any stickers for my collection of places visited! But overall a fabulous place and would definitely recommend!!
A must-visit in Nancy. We didn’t go at the greatest time for the outdoor section. I’d imagine it’s a lot more colorful at other times of the year. It was still stunning though. A very impressively large facility with a ton of variety. Be prepared for walking, sometimes up steeper hills. Plenty of places to stop and take in the views. The greenhouses were the highlight for us. Definitely worth paying the few euros to take a look. Lots of cool, exotic plants to learn about.
Great place to visit with children. Enormous garden on a hill slope to explore, even an old chapel. Marvelous greenhouse with a small exhibition to explore when raining. Picknick is nowadays allowed.
This botanical garden is a great place to visit during Summer. I went to visit this when we visited Nancy. Entry fee is reasonable. Garden is well maintained. At least 2 hours is needed to cover all the designated areas of the botanical garden. The plants were well explained. I liked the place.

Some of the descriptions are inside rooms that we can't walk into so it's hard to read. The staff was very publicly complaining about their jobs. I see it as having strong potential but needing a more professional management.
Nancy was an important city in the art nouveau movement in the late nineteenth century. The museum contains extensive glass, ceramic and furniture work by Emile Galle, a leader of this new art in Nancy.
There are also works by Jacques Gruber and others.
This is an amazing museum. Highly recommended.
Free for students when card is presented and, due to interventions in the house, the normal price is 5€. I really recommend for Art Nouveau lovers, it’s a well kept house fully furnished. It’s not a huge space so your visit might be quick. The garden is really beautiful in spring.

This museum is a home dedicated to Art Nouveau and was the home of collector Eugene Corbin. It’s beautifully presented with very helpful staff. They have an amazing collection of works and it’s very inspiring.
There was an on going work during our visit.
This is not a wheelchair accessible museum.
However, I think it is best to switch the entrance and exit points because all that inspiration has no outlet, just the streets. The visitors should go in that small side door, go through the collection and get inspired then come out to the garden (hopefully a cafe and a shop for souvenirs). I was disappointed there weren’t any souvenirs to buy. It would’ve been nice to have a fridge magnet, tote, tea towel a replica or an art nouveau inspired jewellery to bring back. Maybe a book or two as well.
This and Villa Majorelle are within 10minutes walk, so I recommend visiting the Musee de L’ecole de Nancy in the morning then Villa Majorelle in the afternoon. You can buy combined ticket for both places for 9€

My husband and I just had the most wonderful evening at Terroirs and it’s definitely our new favourite restaurant in the city. Laeticia was extremely warm and welcoming and recommended some excellent wines by the glass. The food was perfection and one of the best hand cut steak tartares I’ve ever had dressed simply with good olive oil and Thai herbs. Don’t hesitate to book this gorgeous wine bar! Stopped there for lunch as it’s near Villa Majorelle. A real homey feel in this neighbourhood restaurant. We were very well looked after and the Boeuf Bourguignon and tartare were very tasty. Good selection of wines by the glass.
Probably the best wine bar in Nancy. Amazing food from local producers and a wide range of wine, including natural wine. The owner is also really kind and generous. It’s a shame not to pay this place a visit while in town!

Delicious! Fantastic! Super! If you want to experience something really fascinating, something amazing, improve your taste - just come to this place once and you will love it so much that it will be your favorite place! Perfect, Perfect, Perfect - everything. Taste of dishes are changing colors around you. Decorations of dishes are very nice. Nothing were medium, everything were top! Service was very nice, our waitress was so cute and charming and friendly that I forgot that I am in France, where service is not the best. I am usually not giving such a high recommendation for restaurants, but this one is an exception. Prices are VERY cheap. Lunch menu for 25EUR - 3 courses, compliments from kitchen as well as such an exceptional experience is not cheap, it is almost free of charge. Imagine that I drove one week after my first visit 300km just to visit this restaurant second time… no comments.
Recommendation: book table as early as possible, it is so good that it is always full.

We had a beautiful family lunch on a Saturday. The menu is gives plenty of options and each plate is beautifully crafted and simply delicious. The service is warm and attentive. Just the right amount of attention when needed. Mr and my family had a great time… most importantly… the food is just delicious, delicate and flavorful.
Excellent small restaurant. Quiet, discreet atmosphere. Kind, polite staff. Outstanding cuisine. Be sure to try the local Toul gris (rose) wine. Only seven tables so reservations are a good idea.

Nancy Museum-Aquarium is a renowned art deco museum that not only serves as a public aquarium but also as a hub for research and education on aquariology. It houses 80 aquariums, some of which are nearly 15,000 liters in capacity, hosting over 500 aquatic species from both saltwater and freshwater environments. The museum's history dates back to the 18th century when it was initially established as the Royal College of Medicine by Stanislas.

A must to do with children, I visited the aquarium with my 4 year old daughter. Adults are €6 and children are free.
We started on the 1st floor and the natural history museum. It was very clean and tidy and had a good selection of taxidermy animals. Also, dinosaur skeletons hanging from the ceiling.
There is a temporary exhibition on the lifecycle of death, complex subject, but my daughter did view the exhibits.
Moving downstairs to the acquarium, there is a good mixture of specimens of fish, aquatic fauna, and flora. Nice wooden steps so children can see into each of the tanks. We spent about an hour here. There is a nice garden at the back of the museum with seating. They have a break from 12-2 p.m

Nancy Cathedral, a Baroque masterpiece dating back to the 1700s, is a sight to behold in the charming city of Nancy. King Sigebert III was laid to rest here and became a pilgrimage for both religious and secular populus. It's absolutely stunning inside especially the domes on the transept and the main Apse. The Great organ gallery is a classified French historic monument. Originally built by Nicolas Dupont and one of his largest and most spectacular. One of the marvels of this cathedral worth exploring. A slow and meticulous exploring of this beautiful cathedral is required to really appreciate the magnitude and splendour of this very Baroque place of worship. Suitable for all ages and backgrounds and it's wheelchair friendly.

Note the hours of entry as the cathedral is open to visitors only at certain times. This is a very pretty cathedral and has a lot of light to be able to see the interior. Unfortunately right now (summer 2023) the cathedral is undergoing renovation so you have various aspects of a renovation blocking some parts of the structure. I’d say it’s still worth the visit if you are in Nancy at the right time.

It is a national monument and the seat of the Bishop of Nancy and Toul. Sculptors and structure are very detailed. Location is excellent as it is in the center, right in front of several restaurants.

Every time I come to Nancy I have to bring the original Macarons with me. It’s an establishment with history behind it and the quality offered is still well kept. The Macarons have a sweet taste of almonds, they are crispy outside and chewy inside. They are sold in boxes of 12 for 11€ and last long. The staff was nice and quick.

A small shop with lots of traditional and local specialties - sweets, drinks, chocolates. It is relatively pricey, but the products are good. The customer service was not very good though. The shop assistant did not respect my request to NOT pack little liquor bottles in individual plastic bags (as it creates unnecessary trash), insisting “it’s to protect the bottles”.

Gorgeous building and atmosphere, high quality productions of fantastic operas, many of which are not part of the never-changing canon of operas you've heard a hundred times. So there'll be always something new to discover! The musicians are usually top notch (that's coming from a professional classical musician), and the tickets range from expensive to so inexpensive, they might as well be free.

The food was something between good and very good. BUT it took the restaurant 45 minutes to cook and 15 minutes before to take our order. Not only that but wirh 15€ it is way too expensive. To follow, we had the beef medallion with mushrooms and potatoes which was amazing, meat was cooked to order and potatoes/mushrooms were the perfect addition. The fish filet was also great and the side was a nice compliment. The item that stuck out was the pistachio desert melody which had a cake version, roasted Carmel version, ice cream version, and cream (all pistachio flavored). All together, a great place to have dinner. Service was also top notch for our visit.

One of the most amazing meals i have recently had, and i’ve been to the food heavens of Italy and Greece lately! We tried starters of gravad lax and fried chicken, followed by a main meal of fish, and a tartalette with meringue (sorry for spelling in French). To reach the Musee de l'Ecole de Nancy, it is recommended to take a bus unless one enjoys a 30-minute walk. Adjacent to the park, towards the southwest of the train station, lies the Art Nouveau Museum.

I grew up in Nancy and this is the park of my childhood, so I'm a little bit biased about it. Nonetheless, it is a great park, with beautiful trees. It is a very pleasant place at all times of the year, perfect in summer to gather with friends on the grass and chill, perfect for a running session, and ideal for kids with many trees to climb on and a little game area.

I walked through this lovely park after visiting Musée de l'École de Nancy art nouveau museum in the Blandan district of Nancy. Close by here is the Nancy Thermal swimming pool complex (under renovations until 2022) and accessible via Rue Pasteur, avenue Boffrand, avenue du Maréchal Juin (the judicial area). Fascinating history that goes back to the 1600 when it was first settled by Jesuits and named it in dedication to the Virgin Mary. This park is second in size to the Pépinière park and it's frequented by the locals as there's a kids playground, tracks for joggers and walkers, basketball court, cycling tracks and a boules pitch. What fascinating here is the Alsatian house transplanted in the park from Zutzendorf, a village in Alsace, in its entirety. This half-timber house was part of the International Exhibition of Eastern France in 1909 and is used for exhibition room and is named the Green Space House. Suitable for all ages, even in winter when I visited. A beautiful urban green space.
The May flower show is great: local products, rare species, a vast choice. We go there each year. Nice park for short strolls.

That said, I left feeling underwhelmed. Only three rooms are accessible, and while they are lovely, they offer a limited sense of the house as a whole. I would have loved to learn more about the daily life of the Majorelle family, the full layout of the villa, and what lies behind the many closed doors—even a small plaque or visual hint would make a big difference. I also wish there had been more information about the architect and access to architectural plans or sketches to better understand the building’s original design. The little brochure notes that there will be more rooms in view after the final part of restoration planned for 2021-2022. Well, writing this review in 2025, I can attest to that not happening.
The exhibition texts mention the family’s photo album several times, but unfortunately, one can only see a couple of photos. Knowing that the house was used as advertisement for Majorelle’s firm, I would love to see the commercial photographs, articles and catalogue entrees as well.
Overall, it’s a beautiful site with great potential—but I left wishing for a deeper, more immersive experience.
We enjoyed our joint visit to this villa & the nearby School of Nancy museum. It's a bit cheaper to get the joint ticket. Down load the guided app as this gives lots more information.

This is a review of a guided tour. It was instructive and logically designed, as we spent time talking about the consistency of design in each room, how the family used the rooms, and how the layout changed (e.g., the Moroccan influences after the bombing). The tour was very accommodating and I recommend it. I wouldn't have gotten as much information via a self-guided tour. The extra 3 euros for a tour are cheap. The caveat is that you must book tours in advance and there is at most one per day, as the guide doubles as guide with the nearby museum. Note that restoration work is ongoing so you can visit the first floor and only the master bedroom in the second floor at present. Very tiny gift shop, so consider buying at the museum instead or in complement.

A tranquil and peaceful urban green space in Nancy at the Saint Pierre district not far from the Regional Hospital, Saint Peter's Church and university of Lorraine. It's quite small but really beautiful even in winter when I visited. There's mature trees, manicured flower beds, greenhouse, kids outdoor playgrounds and a public lavatory that is wheelchair accessible. Great place for everyone even dogs are allowed inside the park. There are benches and tables to sit and relax and have a moment of peace. There's a bus stop right at the entrance gate. Perfect spot for all weather situations.

Nestled within a former palace, the Musée Lorrain is a treasure trove of Lorraine's rich art and history, showcasing an impressive collection that spans from prehistory to the 20th century. As you wander through its halls, you'll encounter captivating exhibits that chronicle the region's evolution, including stunning paintings and intricate tapestries from the 16th and 17th centuries.
This is also known as the Palace of the Dukes of Lorraine which is now the Museum of Lorraine. When I visited it was closed for major renovation until 2023! The only other part of this museum opens is the Church of the Cordeliers which is a tombs church, the burial site for the Lorraine family. It has collections of art history with an archeological collection in one of the buildings in the back of the courtyard. Pity that it was closed but the outside façades gave a glimpse of the stupendously magnificent architecture that was once the Dukes Palace of Lorraine.
