Brasserie
French restaurant
Brasserie L'Excelsior is a refined dining establishment located in a century-old art nouveau building. The restaurant offers a unique ambiance, distinct from other dining venues, and is housed in the former Hotel d'Angleterre, which has withstood wars and urban developments. Designed by architects Lucien Weissenburger and Alexandre Mienville, the brasserie features lavish interiors characterized by Art Nouveau curves and motifs.
Ideally located with well maintained distinguished decor. The staff are nice and polite. Typical continental breakfast with fresh bread, pressed orange juice and hot drink. We tried that large plate with a variety of cheeses before going home. This was our preferred breakfast place for the duration of our stay.
G. S — Google review
Had dinner at Brasserie L'Excelsior in Nancy, and the Art Nouveau interior is absolutely stunning. The ornate ceilings, stained glass, and the central tree installation create a unique and memorable atmosphere. I ordered the Choucroute Strasbourgeoise as my main dish. It was not bad at all, featuring a generous portion of sauerkraut and assorted meats. However, it didn't particularly stand out in terms of flavor or presentation. For dessert, I had the Tout Nancy, a local specialty parfait with bergamot and mirabelle. It was pleasant and light, offering a nice regional touch to end the meal. The service was totally fine, with staff being attentive and courteous throughout the evening.
Stefano P — Google review
I almost never make reviews so this one is for the skeptical readers—There’s so much mixed comments about this place that I can’t even begin. I decided to visit and thank God I did—we had a wonderful time. Yes, the food indeed took some time but nothing absurd or unusual. Dishes were delicious. We had oysters, the duck and the steak. Everything great. Desserts, ugh. 🤤 The profiteroles + crepe were so, so good. The place itself is beautiful and we had a lovely waitress who made us feel welcome.
Lais O — Google review
Nestled in the heart of the city, it is a stunning tribute to the Art Deco style of the 1910s, seamlessly blending elegance with a nostalgic charm with intricate geometric patterns, rich colors, and stylish furnishings that evoke an era of sophistication. The menu features a selection of classic French dishes Soupe à l'Oignon and Steak Tartare. The food is acceptable but not as impressive as its deco.
Taa S — Google review
We had a late breakfast with pastries, coffee and hot chocolate stopping off on the self guided Art Nouveau walking tour. Server was patient with our basic understanding of French.
Pauline M — Google review
It’s like time slipping into the Art Nouveau era. Perfect place for a date but a little noisy. Going there early was a good idea o avoid the massive crowd. Food was nice. Choucroute was lovely. The cabbage was perfect, a little on the soft side though.
Eiko N — Google review
Highly recommend, definitely worth making a reservation. Food is not too fancy, traditional and fairly priced. Ambiance is amazing, staff is great.
Roan K — Google review
I was about to order two dishes when the waiter stopped me, he was right. I was full after having the Lorraine quiche and the crème brûlée. The brûlée was five times larger than ones I eat in Japan and had a great bergamot scent. I think you can access to delicious dishes at a reasonable price. I went in around 6pm without a reservation, but if you can, I recommend making a reservation in advance. Even if you don't speak French, you can feel at ease.

We have been a customer to Monsieur Fuji Sushi for 2 years. We discovered this sushi shop in 2021 and we always used the delivery service and it was outstanding ,not waiting too long, good communication and a polite deliveryman . They always keeps their standard by maintaining their food and service quality. This is the best sushi shop in Nancy for me. Good rice + fresh ingredient+ so tasty. I have never been disappointed as every orders that i have made always have the best quality. Also, our favorite set is Kaiten Murai, we always order this set home for 2 people. We will continue being their customers. Very recommended to try. C’est trop bon🥰
KJ C — Google review
Really good sushi, made by Japanese people. You can also buy some Japanese beers. The place is a bit tiny but you can go with a group or just 2 people. The service was quick and good. A bit expensive, but good price for what you get.

Fabulous California rolls. So delicious and fresh ingredients, I was really impressed. Will definitely come back ⭐️
Victoria G — Google review
Fantastic, high quality sushis. Well worth the price. They also have some vegetarian options available (veggie gyoza) but their best are definitely the custom fish-based maki.
Thomas H — Google review
We came in after the closed for lunch. I didn’t realize at first and then apologized but they served us anyway! It was so kind of them, the definitely did not have too. My daughter and I really enjoyed our sushi! Highly recommend visiting if you love sushi and are in Nancy.
Amanda G — Google review
They refrigerate sushi here (saw them take out sushi that's from basic menu and then they will prepare the 'fresh sushi' if its more pricier speciality sushi that they haven't prepped beforehand to be refrigerated. Either that or they make sushi for lunch and any leftover that's not sold goes in the fridge and stay there in open air for good 6 hours mixed with other open air dishes in the fridge. You would have better tasting sushi by buying at E.Leclerc than here. And it's 8 euro in E.leclerc so. After I complained, they said they will 'talk to the chef.' Chef should already know that's a bad sushi ethic because basic thing about good sushi is you never leave sushi in the fridge after being made. I would have given a pass if I got a sushi from like all you can eat for 15 dollars -wok restaurants or something where it's not only sushi but all you can eat buffet but nope, not here because you literally have Sushi in your business name.

Nestled in the heart of Nancy, Kensington Coffee is a delightful spot that invites you to unwind with a cup of coffee or indulge in their fantastic bubble tea. The ambiance is incredibly cozy, making it an ideal place for both relaxation and productivity, especially with its reliable Wi-Fi. Guests rave about the rich mocha and mocha frappe topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and peanuts—truly a treat worth savoring! Plus, they offer dairy-free options alongside delicious hot chocolates.
One of our go to coffee shops in Nancy that has wi-fi. It’s a great place to work or relax.
Lena F — Google review
Probably the worst hot chocolate ive ever had, it was just warm milk with the least amount of chocolate powdered possible….if that’s what they’re going to sell for chocolat chaud, they should remove it from the menu tbh, i wish i had been recommended not to get it
Daniela V — Google review
Both the mocha and the mocha frappe were exceptional. They were rich in both chocolate and coffee, and covered in an absolute tower of whipped cream with both chocolate sauce and peanuts. They were worth the 4.90€ for a large.

Cheese shop
Le Bouche à Oreille, located in Nancy, France, is a popular spot known for its exceptional cheese-themed cuisine. The menu offers a variety of generous and hearty dishes such as the famous oeuf cocotte, tartiflette, fondues, veal escalope, minced steak or entrecote with various sauces and accompaniments. The ambiance is delightful and the portion sizes are quite generous.
Excellent from start to finish! The staff is lovely, attentive and make great recommendations for your palate profile and beyond. I enjoyed the duck breast with the cream and mushroom sauce on the side and paired that with a local Pinot noir. The food did not disappoint. When I return to Nancy, I’ll be passing through here again.
Melanie M — Google review
We recently visited this restaurant, and it was just okay. The atmosphere was nice, but the fondue didn’t impress—it lacked depth in flavor. The sausage platter was large but the meat quality was mediocre. The wine also didn’t pair well and was a bit flat. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but it didn’t stand out. There are definitely better options for a fondue night.
Mara — Google review
A cozy family style restaurant with some great food and one of the most hospitable staff. We really enjoyed our dinner here and felt taken care of! We went with a group of 7 people and managed to be right on time before the place was full. So we recommend making a reservation if you want to be sure. The waiter spoke great English and was very helpful! Thank you!
Yana K — Google review
Their cheese platers are so huge that even two people can't finish a plater. Taste-wise they are very delicious. Kids do not have enough space to move around here so i wouldn't recommend it for young kids.

Food 5/5 Accessibility 3/5 Ambiance 5/5 Cost 5/5 Service 5/5 Do you love French cheese? If yes this is the place in Nancy you shouldn’t miss! You can chose from a wide variety of meal with cheese as basic ingredient and it is delicious! The decoration is nice and the service really good. Only down point is the accessibility with wheelchair
Clémence B — Google review
Special place with quite interesting atmosphere and decorations. Meals are also special. Portions are big, the plates with different things as well as fondue are very attractive. Menu is very big, i personally don’t appreciate that. Service is fine too. One of the waitresses speaks English and was very very nice to everyone. Prices are fine. Ratings are below (1 - worse, 5 - the best): The overall food is normal - 3/5. Service is good - 4/5. Atmosphere is nice - 3+/5. Prices of food and drinks are fine - 4/5. Overall - good experience.
Gegham R — Google review
We only spent one night in Nancy and we were pleased with this restaurant which provided a good selection of typical Lorraine food. I can't really speak to the authenticity and I would say that overall the restaurant seemed geared more to visitors than locals. Definitely a great place for kids given the entertaining presentation of dishes and the cute decor.
Tony F — Google review
This is a great restaurant and we will definitely return. We have order a Tartiflette which was absolutely great. However, when we ordered the super Entrecote which was the most expensive dish in the restaurant, it was no way super, rather very basic...the quality of meat was very poor. I had so much expectation but the quality of the meat, which was not at all soft rather sinewy and chewy, made the experience very disappointing. Again, we will come back to try the Tartiflette and Fondu, which we feel are great. So do visit and eat and drink in this wonderful restaurant.

Nestled in the heart of Place Stanislas, Bar-Brasserie Jean Lamour is a delightful spot to unwind at any time of day. Whether you're savoring breakfast with a stunning view or enjoying an evening cocktail, this venue offers a vibrant atmosphere that enhances your dining experience. The restaurant is known for its generous portions and excellent food quality, making it ideal for groups looking to indulge. While some dishes may vary in flavor, the overall ambiance and friendly staff create a welcoming environment.
I had the prix fixe breakfast menu several times which was a double espresso, glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, half of a baguette with butter and jam and a croissant. It was served on a silver tray with fancy doily. Service was fast and friendly. The view from my table couldn’t be better of the huge square that is considered one of the best, if not the best, in France. Highly recommend this cafe in a ten star setting!
Mike Z — Google review
Baba au rhum was nice but service as incredibly slow, took around an hour just to be served a coffee and cake. They returned to the table 3 times without the cake before finally bringing the food
Giorgio M — Google review
Beautiful square with nice atmosphere to enjoy a drink or meal, but very rude staff. Do not recommend and would take my business elsewhere next time.
Kyle T — Google review
The place was beautiful with all the sun, the coffee was good and had a very fair price. Nice service too.
Sarah — Google review
I had a glass of Bordeaux and the cheese board…WOW! Great service too
Justin S — Google review
If you’re into very bad coffee, awkward stares instead of service, and being chased through a public square after paying, then this is your spot! I waited ages to order, only for the waitress to awkwardly shout from across the room. The cappuccino was awful, and when I paid another staff member directly (since no waitress was around), the waitress later chased me into the square accusing me of not paying !!!!!!!!! loudly and publicly while everyone in the square staring at me. No apology. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Avoid this place if you're visiting Place Stanislas.
Pirayeh G — Google review
The service was really slow and was the worst cappuccino I’ve ever had in my life. The prices were ridiculous for what they offered. The only thing that was really worthy was the view, which has nothing to do with the restaurant. Not worthy 🙃
Jonida P — Google review
the food it was not very tasty or delicious I ordered fish and rice the meal was cold and the price was not equivalent to the food… for the drinks was expensive like one coffee latte and mineral water cost 10 € ! I will understand it’s because the location and good service friendly staff thanks

Excellent restaurant. Creative cuisine, founded in classical principles of ingredient quality and flavor and texture balance, but elevated with impressive artistry and masterful technique. So impressed with the food and the services. Very recommended !!! As the restaurant is not that far from place Stanislas , you can have a little visit during the night time after dinner

Classy and cosy place. Good atmosphere not too calm nor too noisy. Tables are well organised and the food is great. The dessert were amazing. The main course was not my favorite but it was ok. The service was very efficient at the beginning and was slow at the end we waited for 40min between the dessert and coffee that we decided to skip for the the bill. I recommend this place if you have time to enjoy nice food. The salmon gravlax was delicious.

Conveniently located in the middel of the center. Kind staff and quick serving. Good price quality ratio with pretty large portions. Good location, nice decoration and nice service but the worst caesar salad I’ve ever had, reheated bread, few lettuce, stinky pieces of fried chicken. Not worth price at all. I ordered latté and got something else but the cake was nice.

What a fantastic way to end a trip. This two person show works like clockwork and is like a friend it cooking for you. Hummus with warm mushrooms was lovely, and the salmon plate had a nice diversity of flavors and veggies. Menus changes routinely, but it seems that based on the other reviews, it doesn’t matter - it’s all good.

Nice place. Full of patrons when we ate there on a Sunday lunchtime. Great service and good prices. The food was not exceptional though, simple I don’t mind but it tasted rather bland.
Hedwige W — Google review
This is a delightful little restaurant. It is owned by a young couple who are kind and passionate about fresh ingredients. My husband and I came for breakfast and were very pleased. The homemade apricot jam was delicious, the coffee tasty and the fresh squeezed orange juice flavorful. They have a limited menu, which means that everything is homemade. Our breakfast was less than 15 euros for two people, so it was a bargain! My only criticism is that the homemade granola was slightly over toasted. I recommend this place!

A very cozy place, popular but not over crowded. The stuff is super friendly. The food was amazing, simple and light, full of delight and flavor. The owner and the chef speaks perfect English and she moves in the kitchen so smoothly it is a pleasure to watch through the window. The fact that she is the only one that is cooking amazed me and this adds a home cooked food vibe to the restaurant which is even nicer.

Delicious breakfast!! Their scrambled eggs are amazing, the perfect amount of salt and pepper! I usually need ketchup with my eggs but not this one since it is perfect. Good coffee and pastries too. Baby stroller friendly

Tea house
Aux Merveilleux de Fred is a cozy and welcoming café known for its good coffee, tasty pastries, and friendly staff. The tea room offers a relaxing atmosphere and excellent service. Visitors recommend trying the special light meringue cake coated with chocolate chips called "le magnifique" or the French Brioshe. It can get quite busy, so arriving early is advisable to secure seating.
It was cozy, welcoming atmosphere with good coffee and bakeries. I was also very impressed by a staff(our server). Although it was quite busy Saturday afternoon yesterday, she was very attentive and kind to everybody and speaks perfect English so it was so easy to communicate with too. Would like to visit again :)

The coffee was great, but the Merveilleux quality was average.

wow. what a place! The meringues are sublime. The decor is old school elegant and the staff friendly. We watched the team at work while we ate and drank a coffee. So wonderful to see that some places really have homemade items. It’s a must to visit this marvellous place in Nancy!

Restaurant
Bistro
Au Grand Sérieux is a discreet yet highly regarded dining spot in Nancy, known for its traditional and authentic brasserie-style cuisine with a refined touch. The restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience with well-presented dishes, generous portions, and a diverse range of flavors. The friendly and professional staff adds to the overall pleasant dining atmosphere. While it may get noisy due to its bar-like ambiance, the place is definitely worth visiting for those seeking an authentic taste of local cuisine in Nancy.
A great discovery while wandering in Nancy! The restaurant has nothing pretentious, yet quite traditional and authentic and decorated with taste. What a surprise when the dishes we ordered arrived: great presentation, generous quantity and a beautiful palette of tastes! Nice pairings and the meat were well cooked. On top of that, a friendly and professional staff and a very fair pricing made our lunch a great culinary experience! Will definitely come back.
Hélène B — Google review
I paid more than 20 Euros and still left hungry. Portions were too small(fish and the angus meat) and waiting time was 30 min when there were just 3 tables. I'd look for alternatives.
Kadir A — Google review
We had a really lovely evening at this restaurant. The food was consistently very good. We started with white asparagus and asparagus foam – light and nicely balanced. The filet of beef was the absolute highlight: tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. Dessert was a real surprise – sautéed cherries with melted cheese – unusual, but it worked really well and tasted great. The chef was very friendly and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Nancy.

Cafe
Les Artistes Café, located at 36 rue Stanislas, is a popular spot among students and offers a happy hour every evening from 6 pm to 9 pm with all beers included. The café has a warm atmosphere and ski-chalet themed décor. Customers appreciate the friendly service and reasonable prices during happy hour. The café also offers hot chocolate and cocktails, but some find them slightly expensive.
an incredible atmosphere with a stunning decoration ! i enjoyed the hot chocolate that is just divine and it wasn’t very expensive for a whole afternoon at the cafe

A cafe-pub with an amazing atmosphere, good and friendly staff... However, I ordered hot chocolate, which was not even hot... the taste was mid, probably they just put nesquik in water. It is a good place to hang out, probably try something another time. But that hot chocolate... a total mess

Hey there - pretty redicolous cocktails - not even tasting any alcohol in it. For 9€ that’s a bad choice. Don’t go here - it’s a trap. Cheers to you
B W — Google review
It has a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere, but the waiters take orders very slowly and bring them late too. The air ventilation isn’t good either, and I get sick every time I go there. But since it’s one of the best cafés in Nancy, I still keep going.
Niloufar D — Google review
A really nice place to have some drinks in a casual environment. Service was very friendly and prices are very reasonable (during happy hour: 0,5L draft beer for 2,80€). Definitely a recommendation!

I rly like the atmosphere here. That's also the reason why i always go there. But the drinks, food, not so recommended

Sitting there for an hour without anybody showing up to take the orders. Same for other Guests. And on top of it, a waitress took a sip of a drink she was serving afterwards. Really awesome location, but horrible staff.

This was one of the best cafés I've ever visited. If you're not speak French, you can also order the delicious muffin or donut and the drink of your choice in English. The preparation of the drinks is done with love, and that's not just a slogan! Be sure to visit this Café if you are ever in Nancy!

Coffee here is indeed very good, but the selection of baked goods—muffins, donuts, and cookies—leaves much to be desired. They taste more like packaged items than freshly baked treats.

Went around 14:00 on Thursday and ordered a large Coffee Tella. Loved it! Perfect for someone who craves chocolate but also enjoys a hint of coffee (Nutella taste is dominant). Also, shoutout to the blonde guy with a beard, super friendly and gave off such good vibes. Honestly, he made my day just by being so cheerful. Please give that man a raise!

(Translated by Google) After buying a piece of cheese for €19.59 and kindly and humorously stating that cheese is still expensive, I received a response from a young person on a work-study program who has been there since September. Here's what this young man replied: But, madam, understand that milk is expensive... in short, a real moral lesson. I'm 65 years old, I know the cost of living. I spoke with a touch of humor. He spoke with arrogance. And as he left (the icing on the cake), he said to his colleagues: "We feel like we're in the miserables." This comment is completely inappropriate and rude. I've been buying from your butcher and dairy shop for 15 years. This is the first time such a lack of politeness has been felt. Generally, your employees are very kind and helpful.
