Shopping mall
Shopping
Bluewater Shopping Centre is a popular destination in Greenhithe, offering a wide range of department stores, fashion shops, lakeside dining options, and a cinema. The area surrounding the shopping center provides various accommodation choices and is close to attractions like Swanscombe Heritage Park and Queen Elizabeth II Bridge. Dartford has historical significance with landmarks such as Holy Trinity Church and eighteenth-century buildings on the high street.
Bluewater is a great place to shop, huge shopping center! There's a good variety of places to eat. Free parking is a big bonus too. Really nice to go for a walk by the small lake after a dinner/lunch if the weather is nice ☺️ highly recommended!
Berna G — Google review
Some of the stores closed at 8pm when online closing times are 9pm so disappointing, a lot of empty retail units, and the centre lacks visual inspiration inside lots of the features have been removed, so it's all very bland, was also very hot, if you park at John Lewis when they close you have to find alternative way out Also fire exit doors are locked a huge safety concern I have visited many times over 25 years and find it's changed but not for the better on the positive side plenty free parking, shops and food outlets, toilets worth a visit
Lucy W — Google review
Great place for shopping, plenty of fashion shops, eateries and entertainment, Cinema, kids climbing, Ballerz, etc. easy parking and loads of disabled spots close the entrances on each floor of the multistories.
Digital V — Google review
Me and my family really enjoy day trip to Bluewater Shopping Centre it’s beautiful and find great things many stores and food halls I really recommend to visit there your day will be amazing.☺️
Nadia F — Google review
Bluewater is good place to shop, eat or just walk around. It has all the shops you would expect of a shopping centre and has plenty of parking. So if you’re looking for a less busy version of Westfield Stratford jump on the A2 or get one of the many buses that come here.
Mehmet — Google review
One of the best shopping centres around! Bluewater is always a great day out — it’s clean, modern, and has an amazing variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options all in one place. The layout is easy to navigate, and there’s plenty of parking available. The staff throughout the centre are always polite and helpful, and it’s clear the place is well looked after. Whether you’re shopping, grabbing a meal, or just having a wander, Bluewater has something for everyone. Love coming here every time!
Dale U — Google review
First visit ever to Bluewater Shopping Centre. Had a great day out, thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambience was lovely. A bit like Lakeside but much posher, not stuck up though! Noticed a distinct difference of friendliness and helpfulness from staff in shops. Loved the outside spaces too, nice views to enjoy a relaxing lunch and coffee. Impressed that my favourite chocolate has it's very own shop there, Lindt, lots of varieties I haven't come across anywhere else. Bit early but made me start my Christmas shopping! Definitely going again at Christmastime to see how the centre decorates for the festive period. I'm optimistic, sure it won't disappoint from what was experienced from my first ever visit there. Highly recommend Bluewater for a nice day out. Oh, and easy to find with stress free parking too.
Barbara W — Google review
I always find something relevant for what I’m looking for here, but if you come close to Christmas be conscious it gets incredibly busy and parking can be a nightmare. When you go outside of the Christmas period parking is better but it can still get busy at peak times. The centre however is always clean and tidy and public transport links are good. If you don't mind busy shopping centres then this will be right up your street you will most definitely heal yourself if you need retail therapy!!

Chain retailer selling home, garden & leisure products, including furniture & kitchen equipment.
I generally like this store. Good selection of all household products plus the blingey bits for your house..... But service is terrible only two tills working. And o so slow. And when there is no bar code and they put a call out for someone to come it takes ages. And all the time the queue just gets longer. Pehaps it would be better especially when it's busy to open all the tills to keep customers Moveing...
Keith D — Google review
Visited this store and noticed it was very messy and the price tags on products were not placed correctly and staff very laid back. The shop needs a good turn around and cleanup which would improve the customer shopping experience.

Good quality items. some items are expensive and you can find better or the same one in B&m store at cheaper price. Good collection of mirrors and home decor. I would suggest to check Ikea, Home bargain and B&M before buying from Range.

Love the range and this is no exception, nice big store packed with everything you might want, bonus that it is surrounded by other good stores. Big carpark. Easy to maneuver also has an upstairs and there's a lift a bonus if you have bad knees like me

IKEA Lakeside is a sprawling haven for home enthusiasts, offering an extensive range of ready-to-assemble furniture, textiles, lighting, and decor. This Scandinavian giant has mastered the art of affordability without compromising on style. Shoppers flock here not just for the impressive SEKTION kitchen cabinets but also to explore countless other products that cater to diverse tastes. The store's layout is designed for convenience with ample parking—including electric charging stations—and easy access for everyone.
Great store and easily able to spend whole afternoon here. Also have kids face painting for Easter. Lots of showrooms with inspiration how to decorate own house. Amazing options for home and kitchen storage. Not as much plant options. Not much queue at self checkout but some queues at customer service

You can’t go wrong with IKEA! Also really great to just arrive there and have a ridiculously cheap breakfast before you walk around. I think it’s an absolutely wonderful idea and I hope they keep doing it for a long time. The place wasn’t too busy, even though it was a Sunday, and the checkouts were fast. It’s always an easy place to get around, and you always seem to find exactly what you want to fill in those little spots in the house.

IKEA is amazing invention. 90% of my furniture are from here, great quality, things last. Few days ago I also tried their kids Creche. 60 min free child care for 3-10 years olds ! It’s amazing. You get a buzzer thing to notify once your time is finishing. Had a lovely catchup with my friend while kids were playing
Edita L — Google review
Bring your deck chair when ordering food at ikea your in for the long haul !! The queues are mental and your most likely not waiting for less then 30-40 minutes of which I waited This was my first time going to Ikea but also trying the food , the shopping experience was great and easy to navigate . But the food left a lot to be desired ! Was looking forward to the infamous meatballs but they was a bit meh if you ask me and pretty much a hype job With the cheap tasting meatballs , although I did like the sort of cheap synthetic gravy they top it with ! I did buy some of the frozen meatballs to see if I could sort of jazz it up at home . The star of the food show was that berry crumble cheesecake !! My god that was soooo good !!!!! I should of just had the pudding So overall you get a sort of okay value for money , but the quality of food doesn’t really reflect value . The other disappointing area is the selection of drinks from the drinks machine Many of which I’d never tried so I tried all of them and nearly all of them didn’t taste great , you can tell there watered down so much it was pretty much water , I think the only the one that tasted remotely any good was the lingonberry Gimme some cheap coke or lemonade any day of the week then that rubbish ! Drinks selection needs to be drastically improved For more food content follow me on socials @bigchefeats

The Good. Visited today with my 6 year old child to purchase new bedding. Started in the Café food wasnice and well priced. The lady at the checkout kindly pointed out the glass i had only enabled Blackcurrant, which was fine. Entered the store and asked for some directions and advice at the bed section. The lady gave me all the info needed and was well mannered. In the textile/bedding and young chap gave me the exact detail of the duvet pillow and covers i needed, which helped immensely. These stores aren't overly staffed, which helps to ensure competitive prices for us consumers but great help nonetheless. The Bad When convenient my way to collect the mattresses from the self serve area I decided it would be best to upgrade from the foam mattress to the sprung version as the additional cost of £90 offered great value once again. Found the foam version and assumed the sprung version would be in close proximity, which wasn't the case. Asked 3 members of staff for some assistance, and none of them could help. I was short on time and purchased the 2 foam versions begrudgingly. The Damn Right Ugly We were in desperate need of a toilet. A kind lady led us to a shortcut, and we hurriedly headed towards the WC in this checkout. WC, there was a significant change in the quality of staff customer service. My 6 year old was physically stopped from heading to the toilet as he had £65 of goods in a yellow basket. I explained to security to keep the basket, and we would collect it when finish the child was a little distressed, but nothing major. We still needed to collect the mattresses. Went back, retrieved the trolley from him, said thank you, asked if he knew roughly where Isle 65 was, and he pointed to the general vicinity. During this conversation, a female employee rudely interrupted, muttered something about Loomis, and turned around. I politely advised her that the way she spoke to him and interrupted was a tad rude. She completely agreed yet failed to offer empathy or apology. By the time I returned to the self-serve checkout, the staff were obviously monitoring me as a result of some sort of internal communication. They made that obviously clear. I looked different from every other shopper in that area and clearly fitted their ethnic profile of a shoplifter (I don't think I do) they just constantly glared at me. The 3 yellow baskets i now had crossed an imaginary unmarked geographical line (very odd). A young lady who had just joined the carry-on had good interpersonal skills and was very helpful (not sure if security had sent her too). Now surrounded and being glared at by security, I got a little flustered at breaking these unexplained imaginary lines, i thought it best to return these baskets before all hell broke loose went to grab the one behind be and the middle aged lady sitting at the checkout physically yanked it away from me. The child was looking round bemused during the whole debacle. Finally, I was given a shopping trolley by the pleasant lady who knew there was no need for this treatment and left having forgotten to pay and being politely reminded by her that I needed to do so which I did. Im not a shoplifter, and IKEA, your use of this profiling is offensive and disgraceful. To top it off, I was asked if I was a friend or family member - I almost choked. Close your stores and go strictly online as the walk-in customer experience is no longer a priority of value to you.

Big ikea shop, has everything and anything that ikea has to offer. The restaurant is great and the store is open until 10pm sometimes. I have been there a few times and it does get extremely busy on the weekends so the best time to go is during the week in the evening and you’ll find it’s very quiet

Good selection of all items for your home. Went for bedroom furniture and the choice shown in room set ups are very helpful. Chose our bedroom furniture and the young lady who helped with the ordering was so helpful and it was completed in minutes. The coffee shop was very impersonal but l just wont use that part again. Will use the shop again

Grays Beach Riverside Park in Thurrock, Essex, is a popular destination overlooking the River Thames. The park offers a variety of activities for all ages, including a large sandy play area with equipment suitable for different abilities, a play ship, zip line, and climbing structures. Visitors can also enjoy an urban beach just a short drive away, featuring a sandpit, skate ramp, splash park, ball court, walking trails, and picnic areas.
Great place for the kids!! Large sand pit with many apparatuses for children to busy themselves. Nice patch of greenery surrounds the pit and pavement that borders the pit where many children were rollerskating! A small park with swings and slides are also within the area. You can also grab something to eat from The Lightship Cafe, or simply grab an ice cream 🍦 Was a sunny day and my daughter really enjoyed it on her own.

Although it’s definitely not a real beach and it needs a bit of TLC, the riverside park was good for a nice walk. It’s dog-friendly and I could see the small kids were having fun on the rides and in the sand. Nature does a good job of making it pleasant and there are some great views overlooking the water.

Very nice playground for our 2 and half year old son to play around in. Plenty of rides to go on and a fun atmosphere . Our son loved the ducks and geese and he enjoyed feeding them . There were also people racing toy boats on the lake which was nice to observe We will definitely head back soon.

Never been before, popped down outside of paid parking hours (after 6pm) to have a look and see if it was worth a daytime visit. Lovely walk along the river path, and the play area looks lots of fun for the kids. Will be back.
Sarah R — Google review
Better than we expected for a short day out with the kids. Plenty bouncy fun, splash zone, and large sandy play area all within the park. And a cafe which serves plenty and those hot sugar ring donuts 😋. Recommend 👍 enjoy and relax
Harjit C — Google review
Amazing place, you better buy parking for at least 3 hrs. There is so much to explore here. Advised to take a few sets of change of cloths and shoe which is easy to remove as sand will go everywhere, better remove it. About the park, there is a toddler area which is fenced so the little ones can’t just run off. It has a small slide and little things to enjoy. In the giant sandpit there is thinks to do for all ages and there is wheelchair accessible play area too. Outside of the sandpit there are swings, and also wheelchair accessible play stuff. There is plenty green area to do your own games too. There is entertainment this time of the year, small train, big train, water play, mini golf - these you have to pay for around £2 or a bit more. There is a cafe and toilets.

American restaurant
TGI Fridays at Lakeside Retail Park is a casual American restaurant with a lively atmosphere, offering an extensive menu of American dishes along with beer and cocktails. The area also features other dining options like Tim Hortons and McDonald's, as well as local pubs for those who enjoy a pint. Additionally, there are healthcare facilities nearby to cater to any medical needs. This popular chain provides a consistent dining experience with its signature dishes and vibrant ambiance.
Service from Roy and Sophie at our celebratory was honestly amazing, they couldn’t have done any more for us all. 100% recommend this TGI!
Sam S — Google review
I have been coming to this location for years now ever since I was a kid, and I am ashamed to say how the mighty have fallen. What happened with the great atmospheric TGI’s of yesteryear? Going back either 10 or 15 years ago and you could never get to the bar, Now, if anything you can run round it with a clear path. I feel that the food is quite expensive for what you get these days, saying that, it is edible at least. I’ve given the food five stars because I don’t believe that is the problem. They are never normally busy now, which is sad to see but you’d think that the service would be even better as a result, but it is not, if anything is the opposite and we used to be served better when they was three deep in the restaurant alone. Barely any staff working. Except for my pal Roy, who me and my family have got to know over the years and a few others who were great but not as fast as usual What I’m trying to say is, I feel that this is a chain which is sadly no more and should just hang up their belt while they can and accept a great long legacy they’ve created rather than running it into something out of desperation that it can’t be anymore. I for one feel, that only way to inject life into this Iconic building (which I love itself) would be, if it was no longer associated with the TGI’s brand. Keep the American theme by all means, but it would need to be an independent diner. Then, just one of a kind location might actually get some custom through the door. Thank you
Bobby B — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been coming to this TGI Fridays at Lakeside Retail Park for around 20 years now, and I’ve always had a soft spot for it. TGI’s has been a longtime favourite of mine, and this location in particular has always delivered when it comes to the food. The classics still hit the same — the Jack Daniel’s ribs, sesame chicken strips, fajitas, and boneless wings are just as tasty as ever. The chocolate fudge fixation and the s’mores sundae are always a must and never disappoint. When it comes to the food itself, they’ve stayed true to what made TGI’s so popular in the first place. That said, the overall experience just isn’t what it used to be. The place is starting to feel a bit tired and worn out. Tables were a little sticky, and the whole space could do with a deep clean and a refresh. It also seemed quite understaffed — service wasn’t bad, but it felt stretched and lacking the upbeat energy TGI’s is known for. Still love TGI Fridays as a brand, and I’d hate to see this location fade away, but it definitely needs some attention and investment — especially with another TGI’s just across the road at Lakeside Quay. Food is still great, but service, cleanliness, and atmosphere are just ok now. Prices are also creeping up, which makes the drop in overall experience more noticeable. Really hope this spot gets the love it deserves — it’s been a go-to for so many years.

Lovely restaurant, very understanding of my partner's gluten intolerance and had options. Lovely food and always a warm welcome from staff. It can get a bit busy fridays and Saturdays though so bear that in mind. Was some kids running riot climbing everything but no fault of the restaurant.

We had an amazing experience at TGI Fridays Lakeside thanks to Roy, the manager. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. When we had trouble signing up for the kids’ meal promotion, Roy went above and beyond to make sure the children still received their free meals without any stress. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine care made a big difference in our visit. The service throughout was excellent, and Roy made sure we were well taken care of at every step. Thank you, Roy, for making our meal so special — we will definitely be coming back!

Indian restaurant
Nestled in Grays, Thurrock, Shampaan is a vibrant and contemporary curry house that has been delighting diners since 1975. Originally known as the Night Palace, it holds the distinction of being the first Indian restaurant in Thurrock. With its bright artwork adorning white walls, Shampaan offers a delightful blend of classic and modern Indian and Bangladeshi dishes. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, enhanced by friendly staff who ensure every visit feels special.
Can't believe I've never given a review for Shampaan! A+! Me and the wife have been going here for 6 years now and when people visit we always take them here to show them the best Indian food around! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, atmosphere is warm and cosy, along with Indian music and lights around the ceiling. Anyway.... The food! We just can fault it. I always try a different starter and always enjoy it. On Sunday they do a great deal, £14.95 which includes a starter, main, side and rice from 13:00-16:00hrs. Chef specials and seafood included but at an additional cost. We always have to ask for takeaway boxes and we just can't finish the meals but don't wanna waste them. Provided with hot towels from packets at the end and offered a complimentary small spirit at the end - always like the touch when it's offered. There's a s dessert menu that we try to squeeze in but really isn't possible every time. There's a decent sized car park round the back but also free street parking if you can find it. This is our favourite Indian restaurant and even when we move we'll definitely keep coming back!

We had a wonderful experience at Shampaan Restaurant in West Thurrock. The food was absolutely succulent and plentiful – the mixed grill in particular was a real standout! Wimpy is a casual dining establishment with a vast selection of burgers, mixed grills, and other comforting dishes. While it has become known for its relaxed atmosphere, Wimpy in Grays falls short as they do not offer delivery to the nearby town of Stanford-le-Hope. Nonetheless, customers rave about the exceptional customer service and delicious food that this long-standing chain provides. The restaurant is highly recommended for those seeking quality meals and attentive staff.

The staff in Grays Wimpy have always been really lovely over the years and the food hasn't dropped in standard either. Cheeseburger and chips was beautiful. Can never beat a good old Wimpy!

Wimpy is my new go to place. These sausage egg muffins were a game changer.

This place is honestly the most best to grub and enjoy, I got the bacon and cheese burger and it was delicious, the tender, the juicyness was just way out of this world, this is highly recommended and definitely a good area to eat and enjoy

Unexpectedly good place to eat with great food and friendly staff. Food surprised me with great taste and presentation. I also did not expect such a variety to choose from. Best chicken burger I ever ate in my life. Wide choice of desserts and shakes.

Very poor customer service at Grays Shopping Centre. I wanted to feed my 7 week old baby and one of the waitresses offered me seat then gave menu. I didn’t order anything as only wanted to feed and then think about ordering something if I feel like. Another waitress came to me and told me that this area is only for customers. I’ll never go there again.

Lakeside Shopping Centre is a massive indoor shopping destination featuring a wide array of high-street shops, a food court, lakeside restaurants, and a cinema. It's conveniently located for exploring the North Kent coast and the attractions of London. The center offers over 300 stores and is easily accessible from Junctions 30 and 31 off the M25. Visitors can also enjoy activities like mini port electric boat hire and dining at the lakeside restaurants.
Great day out with the family at Lakeside shopping center. When you arrive they is plenty space to park your car. They is signage everywhere to tell you where to go to not getting lost because is a quiet large area. You will find all brands of shops, restaurants, cafe etcs.. we booked severals entertainment for the kids to get them busy during the day. Also they is a fair just outside the building and more to offer. The place in and out very clean. Very safe by seeing a lot of security around. We had a fantastic day, I would highly recommend for a day with the kids or just with the Mrs...

Lakeside Shopping Centre is a beautiful place to shop, dine, and unwind. With a great mix of high-street and designer stores, there’s something for every style and budget. The scenic lakeside view adds a calm and charming touch, making your shopping experience even more enjoyable. A perfect spot for a relaxed day out!

Lakeside Shopping Centre is a truly impressive retail destination that stands out for its sheer size and immaculate upkeep. As soon as you step inside, you're struck by the sense of space and the bright, welcoming atmosphere. It's a shopping centre that you could easily spend an entire day exploring, with a vast array of stores to cater to every taste and need. From high-street fashion favourites to department stores, electronics retailers, and specialist boutiques, the variety of shops is outstanding. The layout is logical and easy to navigate, with clear signage guiding you from one area to the next. Even with the large crowds it attracts, the wide walkways ensure that the centre never feels overly cramped or chaotic. What truly sets Lakeside apart, however, is its exceptional cleanliness. The floors are spotless, the restrooms are well-maintained and hygienic, and there is no litter to be seen. It's clear that a dedicated team works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the centre in pristine condition. This attention to detail significantly enhances the shopping experience, making it a pleasant and comfortable environment to browse and relax in. Beyond the shopping, the food court and numerous restaurants offer a great selection of dining options, all of which are held to the same high standards of cleanliness. Lakeside isn't just a place to shop; it's a well-managed, expansive, and incredibly clean environment that makes a day out feel special. It's a credit to the management and staff and a must-visit for anyone looking for a comprehensive and enjoyable shopping trip.

First visit since 2020. Sad that the two major department stores at either end were no longer there, but i was still pleasantly surprised by the range of decent large stores and independent shops within. I was even more impressed, if not out of my depth in Zara! No more are there staff at the tills/checkouts. Now you put your items in a weighing area, and it lists the items, then pay the total of the items within!! New one on me, and luckily, I had someone with me who knew what to do 😂

Chafford Gorges Nature Park

4.4
(1419)
Nature preserve
Chafford Gorges Nature Park is a breathtaking 200-acre nature reserve that offers a delightful escape into the great outdoors. Nestled alongside Warren Gorge, this park features diverse habitats including woodlands, meadows, grasslands, and serene ponds. The Nature Discovery Centre serves as a perfect starting point with its café boasting panoramic views of the estuary and facilities like a gift shop and accessible bird hide overlooking SSSI mudflats.
Beautiful green space in the middle of a residential area. Lots of wildlife and a peaceful place to enjoy nature. In the summer be aware that it gets very crowded with geese and swans which can feel intimidating. Beautiful views of the ponds. Can get very wet in the winter and parts end up flooded and inaccessible.

🌿 4-Star Review – Chafford Gorges Nature Park 🌿 Chafford Gorges Nature Park is a beautiful and serene haven right on our doorstep. Once an industrial chalk quarry, it has been wonderfully reclaimed by nature, transforming into a thriving sanctuary teeming with wildlife. Whether you’re out for a peaceful walk, a refreshing run, or a lazy afternoon picnic, the park offers a perfect escape from urban life. The gorges are rich with biodiversity — from elegant dragonflies resting on nettles to flocks of geese, ducks, and other water birds gracing the lakes and marshy edges. Every visit brings a new sighting, and it’s especially lovely for birdwatchers and families with young nature lovers. The attached photos barely scratch the surface of how vibrant and alive this space is. It’s such a treat to have this kind of natural retreat in our local area. The walking trails offer stunning views across the gorges, with winding paths, open water, and pockets of woodland all blending together beautifully. That said, it’s a shame that the council has let some parts fall into neglect. The once-welcoming visitor centre shop and café have sadly closed, and the picnic areas are now in poor condition and could really use some attention. These touches used to make the park feel more inviting and supported. Still, the core of Chafford Gorges remains a gem — a testament to how industrial landscapes can be reborn into spaces full of life. With a little more care and community support, it could easily be a 5-star destination. 🦢🦆🌿

This is a very peaceful place to go most of the time. I've visited a couple of times when the swans and ducks were very noisy, have no idea why this was. I use go jogging 3 times a week and the views are quite stunning. Whether you want to walk around the reserve, go jogging or just sit and watch the swans and ducks it's still the best place to go regardless of the weather. There are picnic places and enough car parking spaces, the only drawback is the cafe closed about a couple of years ago and has not reopened.
Barbara B — Google review
Tucked away in Thurrock, Chafford Gorges is a hidden gem for anyone looking to reconnect with nature without venturing too far from urban life. This woodland and lakeside haven offers a peaceful escape with stunning natural scenery that feels worlds away. The walking trails are well-maintained and suitable for all levels, winding through lush woodlands and alongside serene lakes that reflect the sky like glass. One of the true highlights is watching the ducks swim lazily across the water – a calming sight that adds to the tranquil atmosphere. You might also catch glimpses of swans or other birdlife if you’re lucky. The cliffs and exposed chalk faces offer dramatic views that contrast beautifully with the stillness of the lakes. Whether you’re walking alone, with a dog, or bringing children for an outdoor adventure, there’s plenty to enjoy here. Benches are thoughtfully placed so you can pause and take in the views, especially at sunrise or sunset when the lighting over the water is especially magical. Chafford Gorge is not just a walk, it’s an experience – one that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and immerse yourself in nature’s beauty. Highly recommended for nature lovers, casual walkers, or anyone in need of a quiet place to reflect.

I used to love walking around the fishing lake, but unfortunately it is closed off now. This is for the safety of the anglers who had been targeted by idiots who have now spoiled it for everyone. It's such a shame but I understand why they had to do it. The rest of the nature park is nice, but the fishing lake is the real gem in my opinion.

CLOSED! So sad. It's such a lovely place.
Trevor H — Google review
Lovely walk, the visitor centre was closed when I visited. Steep hill down to the nature park as a pre warning, however once down there it’s flat grounding. Peaceful, lake area, there are little flies by the pond in the warm weather. Ducks and geese around which is lovely to see the wildlife and great for kids to see and feed. Dog friendly Free to visit
Nicole B — Google review
I walked here from the bus station at Lakeside which took about half an hour. There is a quicker route but I wanted to go to the high lookout on the other side. I also took the path that goes down to the centre from beside the closed visitor centre. The are picnic tables at the bottom with a number of paths to walk around.

The indoor playground Flip Out Adventure Park / Trampoline Park offers an entertaining and enjoyable experience for kids. While it may be a bit expensive, the overall quality of the facility is good. However, there are some concerns regarding the mandatory charge for socks that are not always available in suitable sizes. It is suggested that they either ensure sufficient quantities of all sock sizes or give customers the option to use their own socks.
My friends and I came to Flip Out for the first time, the price for the trampolining socks were £3.50, the prices at the cafe inside was from £3-10. Overall, we had a great time! The staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming! There were so many options from trampolines, to ball pits and much more!

Came for a childrens birthday party, really good service, you get your own room on the top floor, food options were ok, but drink menu was good. My kids love a Slush drink which had unlimited refills. The play area is mostly suited for kids 5+ age, but there is a small space in the corner for toddlers. Saturday can get incredibly busy so best come early in the day.

Such a great place to go with children 🌟 my son is 5 yo and he was so impressed by this place. He enjoyed jumping and climbing and going through the soft play area challenges. I am now thinking to buy a membership as we plan to visit regularly.

We had a great visit at Flip Out Lakeside! The arena is pretty big with a variety of sections. My brother mostly enjoyed the street football, ninja wipeout, and stunt zone. As there are so many different attractions we were spoilt for choice! This Flip Out caters to a variety of age groups from toddlers to teenagers, and even adults would have a good time here! What made this trip even more special was the member of staff Chris, who was so friendly, helpful, and very attentive. I was so impressed with his interactions with the kids. Safety is paramount in these spaces, and so I really appreciated how he communicated with the kids to keep themselves and others safe. I also observed Chris' interaction with a child who had additional needs; he was so patient and guided the other children to also be patient with the little boy. I was really blown away because I could see that Chris is young, but his maturity and professionalism was so impressive and heartwarming. Having staff members like Chris makes makes a huge difference to the overall experience in these spaces...it certainly did for us! Thank you Flip Out Lakeside!

I had the pleasure of visiting Flip Out Lakeside for the first time for a birthday party, and I can’t speak highly enough of the experience, thanks to Chantai. Her hospitality, warmth, and incredible attention to detail made the day so special. Chantai’s professionalism, energy, and genuine care truly made a lasting impression. It was an absolute pleasure being looked after by her — she made the whole experience even more memorable. Thank you, Chantai, for making our day so fantastic!

We visited flip out and the two girls at the front desk were so kind and helpful. Milena helped us with issues with our waivers and took such time explaining it all! Belhus Woods Country Park

Country park
Belhus Woods Country Park is a serene natural retreat spread across 300 acres of woodlands, meadows, and lakes. The park features outdoor percussion instruments, climbing frames, swings, and sand pits in its play area. Visitors can also borrow story bags from the Visitors Centre containing books and activity sheets. The park offers picturesque landscapes for outdoor activities like walking, riding, or wildlife spotting. Additionally, it boasts ancient woodlands and conservation areas to explore.
This is a nice country park. It has many routes you can take for a walk- ranging from woodland to meadow walks. The park also has a lot of beautiful picnic spots.
Kirill K — Google review
Country park in Essex about a 10-12 minutes drive from Lakeside shopping Centre and the M25/Dartford crossing. The area is quite large and has numerous lakes, woods, meadowland and Wetland with plenty of paths plus marked trails to follow. The lakes are home to numerous water fowl and the woods have lots of small "Tweety" birds. You could walk for miles,it's quite busy near the car park but as you head out it gets fairly quiet. Sadly the noise from the M25 can be heard all over the area, some parts more than others. The paths are mainly natural but quite wide, I would imagine they would get muddy after prolonged rain. Near to the car park is a cafe serving drinks and light refreshments plus the toilets are situated in this area too! You will find benches here, some under cover. There is a map of the area by the cafe, I would recommend getting a picture of it on your phone. About a five minute walk from the car park you will find a huge kids play area with all kinds of apparatus for them to play on. Dogs are welcome and away from the geese and ducks etc can be off leads. Car park charges: I do think that the parking charges are too expensive. It was over £5 to park for 4 hours, most country parks charge £2-£3 to park all day.
W H — Google review
This was my first time coming to Belhus Woods Country Park, and I was so impressed! I originally went looking for somewhere peaceful to walk my dogs, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. It’s a beautiful park where families gather to enjoy quality time together, and nature lovers can take in the calming and peaceful surroundings. The families are so friendly, which really adds to the welcoming atmosphere. My dogs even made new dog friends and had a great time interacting with other dogs it was very nice to watch. The whole park has a really nice, positive vibe that makes you feel relaxed. There’s also a lovely café where you can grab a snack for yourself and even treats for your pups. They’ve thoughtfully provided outdoor drinking bowls for dogs, which I really appreciated. Just a minute’s walk from the café, there’s a beautiful large outdoor play set for kids even big teens which makes it perfect for families. Nearby, there are clean and well-maintained public toilets as well as picnic benches, making it easy to spend a few hours here comfortably. The park itself is very clean and well looked after. The lakes are absolutely stunning, with swans and birds that are a delight to see a real treat if you’re into photography or simply love nature. Parking is reasonably priced I paid £5.30 for 4 hours, which I think is a good deal considering how much the park has to offer. I would definitely recommend Belhus Woods Country Park if you’re looking for a lovely day out, whether it’s with family, friends, or your dogs. It’s the perfect mix of nature, relaxation, and friendly community vibes.

Belhus Woods Country Park is a nice place to visit if you enjoy nature and outdoor walks. It has a mix of woodlands, lakes, and open spaces, making it good for walking, picnicking, and spotting wildlife. The paths are well-maintained, and there’s a play area for children. It can get busy on weekends, but it’s generally a peaceful spot for some fresh air and relaxation. Really clean place :)

Belhus Woods Country Park is a peaceful and beautifully maintained spot, perfect for families, couples, dog walkers, and nature lovers alike. The playground area is clean and safe, great for kids of all ages, and there’s plenty of open space to run around. There are picnic areas with benches and tables, making it a great place to spend the afternoon. The toilets are clean and conveniently located. Nestled in the heart of a bustling shopping center, Cafe Giardino Lakeside offers a delightful escape with its informal Italian-style ambiance. This charming cafe serves up an array of breakfast options, panini, salads, soups, and pasta dishes that are sure to satisfy any craving. Guests rave about the friendly staff who create a welcoming atmosphere—perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal away from the crowds. The spacious seating area allows for relaxation while indulging in quality food that stands out from typical mall fare.
Had a chicken escalope which was lovely and a good size for what I paid. The coffee was standard, nothing terrible. The staff were friendly too. I would go back if I wanted lunch again while shopping.

Really tasty food and friendly staff but very overpriced. You have to really be tactical about buying your food otherwise you'll be paying a load extra unknowingly. Recommend but only if you want a coffee, panini or know ahead of time what to buy.

Very rude lady at the counter called “Marta”. She overcharged me £4 and instead of refunding, they rudely told me to go and sit down in front of customers. They have a real issue with serving customers here and there is no excuse for being rude especially if you have overcharged someone. Totally ruined me and wife’s lunch. Also the “Marta” couldn’t count £5 worth of change and had to get help to realise it was £5 to give me my note back.

Whilst this has a prominent location and looking promising, our experience today was very mediocre. The Chicken Escalope Pannini was disapointing, there was no seasoning, the escalope was not crispy as expected, and whilst this was meant to have bacon, none could be tasted - overall overpriced for what it was at almost £10 with no sides. The coffee was also a disapointment, the taste was a little bitter, and the flat whites were oversized so the ratio of coffee to milk was not right. The service was pleasant, and staff are quick, but what we had today overall did not impress, so we would unlikely return, sorry.

This place is hardly busy! That’s the best thing, away from the busy food court and shoppers, it’s located in middle of shopping centre with lots of seating. Quality of food great and if you fancy something different from the usual shopping centre food shops, give them a try… Also they do a breakfast deal with a hot drink for £7.95

With an extensive menu featuring gluten-free options, there's something for everyone to enjoy, including favorites like Fiorentina pizza and fusilli carbonara.
We were met with a friendly greeting from Ausra who seated us right away. Our server Julia gave us a few minute to look over the menu before we ordered. Our starters came so fast we were surprised. Will definitely be back soon as love the space and location to lakeside

We had such a lovely time today at Prezzo! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming — a big shoutout to Julianna, who was absolutely brilliant throughout our visit. She made us feel so looked after and added a really personal touch to the experience. The kids’ bunny pizza was a huge hit — not only adorable but tasty too! It was the perfect size for little ones, and they loved the fun presentation. It’s such a creative touch that made the meal extra special for them. And let’s talk about the Cream Egg Calzone — wow! What a showstopper of a dessert. Gooey, rich, indulgent, and everything you could want in a sweet treat. It was honestly one of the best desserts we’ve had in a long time. Thank you again to Julianna and the whole team for making our visit so memorable. We’ll definitely be back soon!

We visited Prezzo in lakeside. We was impressed by Lavinia, she was so friendly, kind and happy. It made our visit really comfortable and enjoyable. She is honestly so lovely, and I enjoyed having her as our waitress. This is the best prezzo service I have received so far. She gave us amazing recommendations for the food, and drinks and her service was brilliant.

Went for the set menu via a voucher. Choices were limited but couldn't fault the quality of the dishes. Chicken and mushroom rigatoni was tasty and plentiful. Tiramisu was amazing. Partner had carbonara followed by hot chocolate fudge cake both of which she said were the best she'd had in a very long time. Only negative was the initial staff member who was very abrupt and didn't get the experience off to a good start but the rest of the team were very helpful and attentive.
Jamie H — Google review
I was really disappointed with my visit to Prezzo Lakeside. Charging almost £5 for a canned drink is absolutely ridiculous. On top of that, the chips tasted like they had been reheated rather than freshly cooked and left a strong burnt oil taste in the mouth. The pizza—which was supposed to be a meat feast—barely had any meat on it. The burger was another letdown. Instead of nicely arranged lettuce, we got just a single cube, like it was a leftover scrap from chopping. It looked completely unappetizing. To top it off, after ordering drinks, we realized we didn’t actually need the bottled water. Since it hadn’t been opened—just like the canned drinks, which weren’t even poured into glasses—I politely asked if it could be taken back to avoid waste. The waitress said she’d have to check with the manager, and the response was that if the bottle was on the table, we could take it home, but otherwise, it had to stay. At that point, I just told her to leave it and ended up drinking it. Overall, the meal tasted more like something from a corner chicken shop than a proper restaurant. The only positives were that the place was clean, and the staff were welcoming and polite. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make up for the poor quality of the food. Definitely won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

The restaurant also features an impressive drink selection, including creative cocktails and a well-curated wine list.
I popped in for breakfast at Harvester and was really impressed. The food was hot, fresh, and just what you need to start the day, but what made it extra special was the service. Our server, Tarryn, was absolutely excellent – friendly, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. She really made the whole experience feel welcoming. It’s not often you get service that stands out this much at breakfast, but Taryn set the bar high. I’ll definitely be back!

Lovely service from friendly staff. Meals were lovely with a range of prices from £15 upwards. The salad bar has a good variety and dressing that is free to eat with meals or whilst your meal is being prepared, along with bread rolls.

My deep disappointment following our visit to Harvester Grays on 2nd September, which was meant to be a celebratory lunch for our 20th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. We had pre-booked and were promptly seated, but the service quickly deteriorated. My husband ordered a well-done Mixed Grill, which arrived burnt. Our complaint to the manager, Harvey, initially downplayed our concerns without inspecting the food. He offered to deduct the cost of drinks but did not rectify the incorrect or poorly prepared order. Only after further prompting and refusal of the deduction of drinks did Harvey view the burnt meal and offer a replacement. However, by then, the attitude displayed had eroded our trust in the kitchen’s care and attention, the entire service. To compound matters, our final bill was incorrectly charged at £45 instead of the expected £36. Harvey claimed he wasn’t aware of our set menu order, despite our assumption that all orders are entered into the system. This was not just a meal, it was a moment we flew in from Ghana to celebrate. The lack of empathy, professionalism, and accountability turned what should have been a cherished memory into a regrettable experience.

I'm a big fan of Harvester in general, and this was my first time visiting this particular location. My group and I only ordered salads, so our interaction with the staff was minimal. However, I felt it was important to share our experience. Unfortunately, the service from our waitress, Karen, was quite disappointing. Throughout our visit, she seemed visibly unfriendly, often giving us unpleasant looks and never once checking in to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. When we eventually asked another waiter for the bill, Karen brought it over but barely acknowledged us or made eye contact. Additionally, we noticed that our plates were not clean when they arrived. No one addressed this or offered an apology, which added to the overall impression of inattentive service. Add food poising to the mix too 😭😭 Also I understand everyone can have off days, but the overall attitude made us feel unwelcome, which was surprising given our previous positive experiences with Harvester. I hope this feedback can be taken constructively, as I’d love to continue visiting Harvester locations and receiving the warm, friendly service I'm used to.

Absolutely dire, long wait between starter and main course, no table clearing in-between courses, when main arrived melted butter spilt all down my wife's top. Salmon over cooked, fries like they had been dehydrated rather than cooked. Would not recommend, probably explains why car park is empty. Manager wandering about in red baseball cap shorts, tshirt and trainers.....all of which looked like they had not seen a washing machine in years.

I have been to this harvester many of times before over the years and tonight I was slightly disappointed. I had a reservation booked but had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. The dining room was half empty! There was a lady that said I’ll be with you in a second and she seemed to be rushing around, another male staff on the bar who also said I’ll be with you. All other staff were just staring at us; this wasn’t very good to wait this long. Despite this we were sat down and were immediately asked if we wanted drinks and asked for two refillables… 10-15 minutes later we received those. However, after we all received drinks our server (didn’t catch her name) but she was lovely and attended to us promptly. Our orders were made and given to us within 45 minutes and for a table of 5 we wasn’t fussed about this. The food was great. The new steak rice bowl is what I had and I recommend it 100%! We finished 20 minutes later and then had our empty plates in-front of us for 45 minutes and our server was no where to be found. But our server did explain that on Tuesdays it can get busy as it’s chicken Tuesdays so she was rushing around. Our server was kind to remind us of the harvester app to which I had and managed to get a discount on a main meal which I was very grateful for. Overall the food was worth the hassle and I feel terrible for the servers who are rushing around which dampens the atmosphere and might leave some customers lost and impatient. I do recommend, with patience and a bit of waiting like a lemon.

Harvester is one of the best breakfast restaurant to go to but this one in Grays is just different. What a day to start with burnt bacon! Someones seems to be in a rush to do this breaky. And no bananas today! Ended up getting the pancake with burnt bacon again. You can never get too much of burnt bacon today! Hahahah

Where to start. They couldn't get an order right even if you paid them. The women that takes the order is down right rude, disrespectful and doesnt know where her bread is buttered. Food is average, service terrible, that women should not be in a customer facing role, she has zero people skills and should re consider her career if she can't recognise that the customer is the person keeping her in a job Please avoid at all cost. Not worth the time or money

If I could give 0 stars l would. Food is incredibly salty. The customer service is also poor. If you want your blood pressure to go up, please go ahead and buy. If you want to stay healthy avoid this shop at all costs .

Dissatisfied food was meant to be delivered at 7 get it at 7.45 cold! So ends up in the bin. Ring the restaurant only to get the lady answer then start talking with someone else then hang up! Then try ringing back to the phone being left to ring. Really poor customer service

Waited nearly 2 hours for a delivery..called after 1 hrs and 15 min they said it was on the way another 30 minutes went by and called again. Rang tonight and was put on hold for 16 mins without them saying nothing, I could hear all the conversations in the back ground very unprofessional and then she hung the phone up. I rang back and said I was on hold for 16 mins she said yeh yeh spoke in Chinese and hung up on me. I wasn't rude and she was rude and unprofessional. I would never use these again

Walked in ordered pork balls, chips, and curry sauce. Rude woman barked £10:50 at me! Asked if they took card payment only to be shouted at "NO, CASH ONLY." Then, I had to wait 20 minutes for it. Chips were dire, cold, and hard . Obviously frozen and had been sitting around for ages, not the big chunky in-house, prepared chips you'd expect from a Chinese. Pork balls were cold and soggy and tasteless. Curry sauce was bland. Never going there again 🙄

Happy garden? There’s nothing happy about this place. The customer service is shocking, the lady is so rude not just to us but everyone in the shop I don’t know why customers put up with it and give them any custom. She don’t understand their own menu and she hides in the back when there are customers waiting. It is a shame because the food is actually quite nice but no - Never again.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and attentive they really went out of their way to make the day special. The venue itself is fantastic spacious, vibrant, and full of energy. There was plenty of room to welcome all of my daughter’s little friends, and they had such a great time. Belhus Woods Country Park Visitor Centre is a versatile destination suitable for visitors of all ages. Additionally, it provides amenities like clean restrooms, a cafe offering refreshments, and wheelchair-friendly facilities including mobility scooter rentals. Visitors can enjoy feeding ducks at the pond and witnessing the blooming bluebells in May.
Lovely park! We love going for a walk or bike ride there, also there is a little lake where you can see lots of ducks and some swans. Kids love wildlife. The playground in the park is great. The kids can have a great fun there. Definitely worth a visit ☺

Lovely place to walk, great for little people, plenty for them to do around the walks. Large playarea also available, take away cafe selling hot & cold drinks, snacks and ice creams. My husband and I spent a very pleasant afternoon here.

You've simply got to try the hot chocolate! Value for money, great taste and soooo tasty. Friendly service, quick, and polite at all times. The country park itself is well maintained and if you go there enough, purchase the annual parking pass. It's just gone up to .£3 an hour , so with the annual pass at about £89- once you've completed 30 visits you'll be quids in.

Great for walking and bird watching. Only problem is some people let there dogs chase the the Canadian gesse and greylag geese around the lake especially not good at this time of year when there's lots of gosling's around.
Nick L — Google review
We had a party for my grandaughter. The grounds were lovely. We were able to feed the geese and ducks and their cute fluffy babies. The parking was plenty but a little expensive. They also have mobility scooters available.
Michele M — Google review
This park is great for all ages. On a rainy day it is perfect for muddy puddling, however I would suggest a full wetsuit for the kids. There are small brooklets to jump over or pass through a log, it is so much fun to wander around in all weather. I have seen many pushing buggies too, but the bigger the wheel is the better for you to push. In the end of the journey there is a lake with birds of different kind and the playground. If the weather allows, take some sand toys too. There is a parking on site, which is a bit expensive but I think that the maintenance of this whole establishment takes up a lot of work, so it is worth to pay. There is a shop where you can buy food and hot drink if you forgot something, and also toilet available, both are at the entrance.

RSPB Rainham Marshes is a former marshland firing range turned into a bird-rich nature reserve. It features accessible boardwalks and a modern visitor centre, making it an ideal destination for wildlife enthusiasts. Visitors can spot various bird species, including ducks, birds of prey, and wading birds, as well as water voles and rare dragonflies. The site also offers a play area for kids and a wildlife garden to explore.
A pleasant walk among reeds and birds. The sound of nature together with the trill of the birds makes you feel part of nature. The staff at the visitor center were very helpful and friendly. A good plan for a quiet Sunday morning.

A pleasant 2.4 mile walk around the reserve. The path has been tarmacked so no mud. Saw a variety of water birds but nothing rare. There is a visitor centre but the cafe in it has been closed which was disappointing. Plenty of parking.
Mike T — Google review
The entry is free for visitors with no car, the nature reserve plot size is 2.4 square miles, the cafe is seasonal so it might be open / closed, amongst seeing wetland wildlife we also saw an infant deer and a large family of cows, at the big building called the Educational Centre there were telescopes, there was a boardwalk that covers the route to the first viewing point called Purfleet Hide.
Star C — Google review
A wonderful reserve! It is free to enter. Volunteers are friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are clean and convenient. The cafe has been closed since February, but there's a lovely tea and coffee bar for a small donation. The reserve has clear signs and lots of cool birds. A real oasis near London.

A tranquil nature reserve. Free entry, low cost parking. A great outing for all ages. Lots of wildlife to spot several historical artifacts along the way.

Located just a short distance from the lively streets of London, Rainham Marshes near the A13 serves as a sanctuary for diverse wildlife, including birds, water voles, and dragonflies. The sounds of nature, such as the cheerful chirping of birds, create a delightful atmosphere as you observe various species. Rainham Marshes offers ideal conditions for its inhabitants, and walking through the tall grass transports you into a serene wilderness, providing an exhilarating experience. My children had a fantastic time there, and the tranquil surroundings added to the overall enjoyment, granting a sense of peace. You can also admire the riverside and watch the gentle flow of water. I highly recommend visiting this place if you need a break from the stresses of life; it’s a wonderful escape. Additionally, it serves as an educational experience for children, allowing them to learn about wildlife. Entrance is free, although parking now costs £1 per hour, which I still find quite reasonable as the fees contribute to the maintenance of Rainham Marshes. There is a café on-site for food purchases, but I prefer to bring my own, as café prices can be high. I have visited Rainham Marshes numerous times, and each visit has been rewarding. It remains one of my favorite spots to unwind from my hectic lifestyle.

This expansive venue features a thrilling 900-meter track filled with twists and turns, perfect for those looking to unleash their inner racer. Families can enjoy dedicated race sessions, while kids can zoom around on the junior circuit in electric karts designed just for them. The facility also boasts a viewing gallery, conference rooms, and a diner to refuel after all that excitement.
What an incredible experience! We had an absolutely fantastic day at this amazing venue. The atmosphere was electric as we enjoyed a thrilling and competitive race with a large group of friends. The entire experience, from start to finish, took about an hour, making it the perfect activity for an exciting day out. The safety marshals were excellent, ensuring everything ran smoothly while keeping the race fun and competitive. Highly recommend for an unforgettable time!

Friendly staff, facilities are good, track has a very exciting layout, but the karts have a very big difference, performance wise. One heat you can do a 43.5 and the heat after you struggle to get a 45.9 in a different kart. That has nothing to do with skill. It has been like this for years and that's ashame. Use to come here very often, but 55 pound a session and then fingers crossed to receive a good kart, it's not correct.

First time karting at the tracks with my boys aged 10 and 14yrs. They both loved the experience and can't wait to go back. The track is really good, great for mastering karting. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

My son and his friends had a great time at the karting track. When I booked the party the lady was really helpful and gave me all the options. I’m glad we chose the party so the boys had the track to themselves. This was reassuring to the parents and some of the kids felt better about the experience too. The staff helped the boys with their suits and helmets etc. The racing was fun and we used the picnic benches to have good and drink after. The boys (10years) had never done it before and thoroughly enjoyed it. All of them wanted to go back and do it again.

Best karting in Essex. Really quick karts, great track with a few long straights. They need a cafe / bar though, not sure why they don’t unlike many other sites. Seemed pretty expensive (£67.50 each inc booking fee etc). Worth it though.

Coalhouse Fort Park, located in East Tilbury, is a historic coastal defense site dating back to the 1860s. The fort, now run by volunteers and open to the public, offers stunning views of the Thames River and provides a picturesque setting for walks and picnics. The park features a cafe called the Engine Room, free parking, and information boards detailing the fort's history.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem Full of History and Beauty Coalhouse Fort is truly one of my special places. Every visit feels like stepping back in time — the fort is absolutely beautiful, steeped in rich history, and surrounded by peaceful parkland and riverside views. Built in the 1860s to defend the Thames from potential invasion, Coalhouse Fort stands as a proud reminder of our military past, and you can feel that powerful history everywhere you walk. The fort and the surrounding park are immaculately kept, offering a perfect blend of history, nature, and tranquility. Whether you’re exploring the old fortifications, walking by the water, or just enjoying the open green spaces, there’s a real sense of connection to the past here that’s hard to find elsewhere. I really hope the council continues to invest in this incredible site — it deserves to be preserved for future generations to enjoy and learn from. It’s a place that holds so many memories for me, and I know it could mean just as much to others. Coalhouse Fort is a true treasure, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

This is a really good place for a dog walk. It’s not too busy, good views, established walk ways and an excellent cafe where amongst other things, you can get a good cappuccino. Plenty of free parking too.

A lovely place to visit for free, have a very pleasent walk along the Thames and visit the history (have to go on specifc days to actually go into the Fort itself). Lovely coffee shop, free car parking, great for taking the dog for a walk and seeing the wildlife. A lovely few hours relaxing with some nice coffee. We were very impressed by the Engine Room Café at Coalhouse Fort. We'd walked there from Tilbury Town Station, quite a long way already, and were on our way further along the Thames Path. It was a drizzly grey October day. The staff at the café were friendly and cheerful, let us eat our own sandwiches and provided first-rate coffees and teas in real mugs. They are extremely dog-friendly, too. Really exceptional. The food looked good, but we did not sample it, so I can't comment.

Great place to visit for exploring the old Fort and surrounding buildings including the radar station. Also if you dont know, there are some hidden gun placements and other buildings just up and beyond the church. Look at Google maps and you will be able to make them out. We'll worth checking out if that is your type of thing. Bit overgrown in summer time but worth the effort getting in to see.

Chafford Hundred Brewers Fayre is a delightful family-friendly pub and restaurant that offers a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying classic dishes alongside international favorites. One standout recommendation from the Head Chef is the Smothered Chicken, which features streaky bacon, cheddar cheese, and BBQ sauce—it's no wonder this dish has become a favorite among diners. For those with a sweet tooth, desserts like Caramel Apple Betty and Triple Chocolate Brownie are must-tries.
I stayed at the Premier Inn with my family and close friends. After a few drinks at Lakeside we headed back to the hotel but decided to have a last drink in the Brewers. Jack served us and got to say, what a wonderful young man. His Mum should be proud of him as should his employers. He helped us try and order food on an app as the restaurant was closed, brought our drinks outside and even gave us a large jug if water with ice to take back to the room with us. Total legend! Next I'd like to praise Enkel, on a previous visit we had breakfast and nothing was too much trouble - we asked to move tables and this was done with no questions asked, food was brought out hot and enjoyable. This visit was just as good, Breakfast was buffet style this time but was replenished quickly and areas kept clean. Keep up the good work, we will definitely be back again!

Have visited twice in last few months and have had the pleasure of having a wonderful young man by the name of Jack tending to us, this young man is always smiling, nothing is too much trouble, an absolute credit to the establishment. Well done Jack you should be proud of yourself and thank you so much for the amazing service you provide. If anyone from Brewers Fayre Head Office sees this please recognise this young man's dedication and professionalism.

Food was great. Good selection and very tasty. I was disappointed by the amount of mac n cheese on my mac n cheese burger. I did like the refillable soft drinks. And this was recommended by a staff member. Staff were friendly. But could have done more. No check back to make sure meal was okay, and they forgot about my puddings, which I had to chase and then no apology when it arrived.

215 booking - Young barman got kids dinner wrong, chips instead of mash, couldn't wait as toddler hungry. Lemonade was like soda so got it exchanged, man that led us to table was bit rude. Staff too slow in clearing empty tables. Girl came to clear our plates, no communication, ie: has everyone finished, felt like they wanted rid of us, the only lovely lady was the one doing the carving of meat, really friendly. Shame with this experience as new customers

Nestled in the heart of Purfleet, The Fleet bar and restaurant has been a cherished gathering spot since 1909. This inviting venue is designed for relaxation and enjoyment, offering an extensive selection of draft and bottled beers alongside fine wines to complement your meal. Whether you're stopping by for a casual drink or celebrating a special occasion, The Fleet provides an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and vibrant.
This place has proven to be absolutely amazing for a birthday party. The kids absolutely loved it! It is not only massive in size (and can take a 10x12ft bouncy castle) but also cozy, warm with food and drink on the budget! The owner was most helpful in planning and facilitating the party - we really appreciate it. The food and drinks were amazing so we will be back more often!

What a find. Visited on 9/3/25 as we were in the area. Both had the roast dinners, me beef and my friend had lamb. Everything about the food was high quality and for the price, amazing value. Both the beef and the lamb were tender and tasty, great selection of lovely roast potatoes, yorkshire pud and several different vegetables, all done perfectly. Sauces and extra gravy supplied were also excellent. Desert was a cheesecake (shared) with plenty of cream which was also excellent. Menu costs, including drinks of one pint of nice IPA and one white wine spritzer came to £40, amazing value for a great lunch. Decor fairly plain but very clean and friendly waitress service, what's not to like? Highly recommended

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, Ming Long Chinese Restaurant & Takeaway is a hidden gem that you won't want to miss! After finding another spot closed, I stumbled upon this charming eatery and was pleasantly surprised. The food here is nothing short of spectacular—served hot and fresh with an array of flavors that truly tantalize the taste buds.
If you go in person to the restaurant you get a warm welcome and a very friendly service. I went in with my daughter and they offered her lollies and fortune cookies. They showed her the restaurant with all it's authentic decor. The food was very delicious and for the price it was well worth it. Big portions too. I would highly recommend this place for both eat in or takeaway.

Absolutely awful - We visited here on Mother's Day as a table of 6 at 5pm. When we arrived the restaurant it was a mess and there was no food in the buffet dishes. We waited 20 minutes to order drinks and ordered a bottle of red wine - they didn't have that one so we ordered a different one and surprise surprise they didn't have that one either and only had the house red which we didn't want so we went and bought our own from the shop over the road. The food was not replaced and when our elderly mother asked a member of staff about what was happening they became abusive and started shouting at her when she hadn't raised her voice. This then turned into a row with our two young children getting upset and we left! Avoid this place - it is just awful. Ming Long - Please do not reply with whatever rubbish you want to spout. We are not interested. You are rude and certainly shouldn't shout at a little old lady and tell her you don't like her!!

Ordered for a delivery. When turned up there was a dish missing. So called to say that a dish was missing. Was told over the phone that we hadn’t even asked for this. My daughter heard me order and said to the guy on the phone that she had heard her father ask for the dish. He said he was the owner. He then turned up on the doorstep 10 mins later with the missing dish and was more or less squaring up to my 20 year old daughter. Arguing with her. Must say my daughter never complains or argues. So certainly did not instigate this or was rude. Been ordering from here for a while now. And there was a missing dish last month. But just put it down to a one off. But to be confronted like this, by the owner, by his own admission, disgusting service. Food wasn’t up to standard either. Most went in the bin, I always try and support our local businesses. This one however, will not be given another chance. My advice, to customers, avoid. My advice to the owner, get some training in customer service. Thank you all for reading

Ended up here as my usual Chinese was closed. I am SO glad I came here!!! The food was absolutely amazing, hot, fresh and really tasty! Find the recent reviews hard to believe; My only complaint is that the BBQ sauce was too salty.. but the food itself was absolutely beautiful. We had chow mein, egg fried rice, salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips, crispy chilli beef & mini vegetable spring rolls. Absolutely gorgeous this will be my new regular Chinese!

Extremely Unsafe – Beware of Food Poisoning Risk I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others after what happened. My friends and I ordered the king prawn fried rice from ming long restaurant and within hours, several of us became violently ill with food poisoning symptoms. This was the only shared meal we had that day, and the timing and severity of the symptoms point clearly to the food we received from this establishment. This was not just an off night — it was dangerous. We are currently in the process of reporting the incident to environmental health authorities. I strongly urge others to exercise extreme caution when considering this restaurant. Food safety is non-negotiable, and what we experienced could have had far more serious consequences.

Ordered a scheduled delivery for half past 6 for it to turn up half an hour later at 4:45 when I was not in and a family member had to pay, rang the shop to be told I’ll call the driver and call you back which they never down so had to order more food when home as it was obviously cold and horrible , me and my family have been regular customers for a few years now.

I have been using munchies for the last 2 years and for the most part they have been great. Unfortunately in the last few occasions the food quality has been lower and worst of all I found hair in my food twice. The first time I gave it the benefit of the doubt but this time I found three hairs in the food. Absolutely disgusting and very off putting. I will not be using munchies anymore so I’m sorry to say you have lost a regular customer through lack of clean practices and quality control !

So the food arrived or so we had thought, completely wrong order and it had been sent somewhere else to another house hold. With the current pandemic going on the food should not only have been binned but it should have been recook due to contamination and on basic hygiene itself. When my order finally got here I was missing a 13" pizza.. even after getting a wrong order.. still a whole pizza missing.. how can you miss a pizza box.. the main part of the order. Finally had to have the driver come back a third time to bring my BBQ MEAT PIZZA.. bbq.. there wasnt any sauce on there what so ever, like none.. the meat was bland cold a frost bitten it just tasted stale and off. The burger tasted burnt and like it had been covered in bbq and it was suppose to have ketchup up init. Burger was also covered in red onion and lettuce of which we didnt ask for.. bottom of the burger had one tiny slither of normal lettuce. This has to be the worst service from any take away ive ever had. Even in this pandemic I would not recommend at all waste of an hour and half wait time and the £20 it cost.. dont waste your money I wouldn't even feed this to my dog.

Tilbury Fort, located across the river from Gravesend, was initially built by Henry VIII in the 16th century to safeguard London's seaward approach. The fort was strategically designed to withstand artillery bombardment and played a significant role in history when Queen Elizabeth I delivered her rallying speech against the Spanish Armada in 1588.
A great place to visit, try and pick a day with good weather as there’s a lot of open ground to cover and not much fun in the rain. The site covers history from 1550 to 1950 so hopefully something for most people.

Tilbury fort is an English heritage property , at the edge of tilbury port. It is a fascinating place, lots to see and great views down the Thames. It gives a great insight in what must life must have been like in the fort. There is a very small cafe on site. And a car park is near the entrance (though its quite small)
Kevin M — Google review
Went here as a morning out. A few artillery pieces on view, some very rusty. A small exhibition about the place. Downside was bad for people with motobility issues, I understand it's a historical place, but you have to have facilities for elderly or disabled people. Nice place for a walk if you can.
John B — Google review
An enjoyable couple of hours spent here at the Fort whilst enroute down to Rochester. There is parking right outside the fort no need to park on the carpark outside The Worlds End Pub, pull onto the car park and drive over the cattle grid, this will lead you to the entrance. This is an English Heritage site with a small shop and toilet facilities on site. This was the filming set for the BBC series with Taboo.

Great place to spend a couple of hours exploring. Plenty of parking available, polite staff provide a warm welcome. The tunnels are amazing, such a clever solution to avoid a spark, seems obvious once you know but genuinely genius! Really interesting history to the place.
Nicholas C — Google review
Tilbury Fort was not busy on this weekday, which meant my group had the place to ourselves. It’s a reasonable half day’s exploration into a bit of war history on a pleasant Autumn day. The staff are helpful and there’s a little shop. You can get into an officer’s house to see how they lived in war time.
Rosamund M — Google review
Nice and peaceful visit to this English heritage site , there ia an entrance fee £6:80 for adults and £4:50 for kids but there is a discount for families , you also need to check what days they are open , very few visitors when I was there( none in fact ) mind you it was a rainy week day , so probably explains it , military and sort of domestic history , plenty to see and explore , they have a tiny café where you can get a drink . The great thing is they sell beer , mead and wine in the gift shop 😀. Getting there if you do not have a car is easy , get c2c train to Tilbury town and get the bus which runs every half hour to Tilbury ferry port and the Fort is just a short walk from there .
Ivor W — Google review
A Fascinating Slice of History – Great for a Day Out! Tilbury Fort is a hidden treasure that’s steeped in history and well worth a visit. Managed by English Heritage, it offers a compelling look into England’s coastal defenses, dating back to the time of Henry VIII and playing a significant role through to World War II. Informative displays and impressive architecture bring the past to life, especially its connection to the Spanish Armada. The grounds are ideal for a picnic, and the riverside location provides some stunning photo opportunities. Just down the river, you’ll also find Coalhouse Fort, another historic defense site—making it easy to turn your visit into a full day of exploring Thames-side military history. It loses a star only because a few areas could use more interactive features or restoration, but overall, it’s a great outing for history enthusiasts, families, and anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful spot rich in heritage.

Thameside Theatre is a key attraction in Thurrock, offering a variety of shows and performances for the community. Despite facing financial challenges, it continues to be an important cultural hub. Visitors can easily find the venue with ample parking nearby. The theater provides comfortable seating and good views of the stage, although it can get warm inside. With its intimate atmosphere and dedicated staff, it's a great place to enjoy amateur productions or other events.
Just got back from a lovely evening of the pantomime. Words can’t describe how funny the cast were tonight. Had me and my wife in floods of laughter. The Dame was fantastic and his side kick muddles. Really well kept when they went off script. Definitely a 10/10 a watch to go and see. Only a hand full of shows to go this year. The singing in the show was fantastic. I will definitely be booking for Christmas 2025. The theatre is on the 3rd floor so if you are not great on your feet there is a lift which will take you to the top floor.

As a SEN carer, I have never had such a negative experience. Today, we visited Thameside Theatre in Grays for their Christmas Pantomime. Mum phoned the day before to book the tickets and spoke to a lovely lady who booked the tickets over the phone, it was explained that he would want to sit on the floor as he feels grounded this way, she said she will explain to staff and was very supportive and accommodating to this. Even told us where to sit and booked those specific seats for us. As his first experience I was so unsure with how he would react as he’d never been to one before. We went in, all very happy, the staff greeted us nicely and it was all good and we were ready to go. We had the back seats so we had a bit more space for him to be able to regulate himself with sitting on the floor with his ribbon. The staff gave the okay for this and were really happy with him being able to do this. Surprisingly, he was so engaged in the pantomime - laughing and really smiling. He was doing so amazing, sitting there quietly and every now and then playing with his ribbon. From the moment we sat down, the lady in front of us was watching him. She kept turning round and glaring at him when he was playing with his ribbon. She had her arm round her child every time he would move or even laugh and made sure her child didn’t turn round at all. About 30 minutes into the show, a staff member came over to me and said he needed to move back as it wasn’t fair on everyone else. I questioned what exactly wasn’t fair, as he was sitting so nicely on the floor (which was okay with staff) watching the show. We had a complaint from the lady in front of us that apparently he was hitting a chair in front, which was completely untrue. How can he hit the back of the chair when he’s sitting so nicely next to it? This was where I put my foot down and had enough, so we left. Unfortunately for us, they completely ruined his first experience at the Pantomime for us. We will not be recommending at all, as the staff handled the situation absolutely unfairly. And ruined this experience for him. Photo for reference this is exactly what he was doing at the very back of the theatre by the back doors causing no harm to anyone.

Small compact theatre in need of a refurbishments. Ideal for the local drama club and suitable place for the comedy club that starred comedian seen on Live at the Apoĺlo on television. For the £25 fee good value. Ample parking to the rear and side.
Richard A — Google review
Mixed review, I have seen 2 performances here and they have both been fantastic, due to the size of the venue it has a really lovely atmosphere. The down side is, I needed to raise a complaint about a member of staff because of their discriminatory behaviour towards my disabled son. It left quite a bitter feeling to be honest, the response I had from the venue didnt really make me feel like any changes were going to be made or that the behaviour had been addressed.

I enjoy going to the Thameside Theatre for the museum and look at what could be showing. The receptionists level of product/theatre knowledge needs to be improved and level of politeness as well.

The Upside Down House - Lakeside amusement park offers a memorable and enjoyable experience for families. It provides a unique opportunity for creativity and great photo-taking moments. Notably, the friendly lady at the ticket counter adds to the positive atmosphere by offering tips on capturing good pictures and even taking some herself. Her kindness exemplifies the exceptional customer service found at this establishment, making it highly recommended for those in the area.
Amazing customer service for the staff, they came into the house and offered to get a picture of us all together. You make it your own experience but would definitely recommend it to anyone. A lot of photo opportunities and it was so easy to do.

The Upside Down House at Lakeside is a quirky and fun-filled attraction that offers a totally unique experience. The moment you step inside, everything is flipped on its head—literally! It's a mind-bending experience where furniture hangs from the ceiling, and everyday scenes are turned upside down. It’s perfect for creative photos and makes for some hilarious and unexpected moments. The house is well-maintained, and the staff are friendly, adding to the overall fun atmosphere. Whether you’re visiting with family, friends, or just looking for a different way to spend the day. It’s a short but memorable experience, ideal for both adults and kids alike. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Lakeside area!

Langdon Hills Country Park spans 461 acres of former plotland gardens, meadows, woodland, and lakes. The park offers stunning scenery from its ridge, with views of the Thames Estuary and London's eastern outskirts. It is a haven for nature enthusiasts, boasting an abundance of wildlife including turtle doves, woodcocks, nightingales, and over 30 butterfly species.
This place is beautiful. There is free parking. However, all the toilets were shut, and with 3 little ones, it meant we had to leave earlier than planned as they needed the loo. We drove to another car park but the toilets were shut too. Which was disappointing. The paths are not wheelchair friendly as there are stairs and narrow pathways through the bushes and forest. We managed a short walk but turned back as it was exhausting with a pram. There are beautiful views from the top of the stairs, but unfortunately, people had picnics and left their rubbish behind, and there were flies everywhere, so we couldn't fully enjoy the spot. Would have loved to have sat down and enjoyed the space. There are a few picnic tables near the car park. All shaded under the tree, makes a nice spot on a hot day.

I’ve travelled all over the world and I think this is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I walk for miles and miles with my dog here. So many routes you can do. I don’t think people realise how beautiful Basildon can be. 🤣 Check it out if you like woodland, nature and stunning landscapes. Great views towards the Thames.

Beautiful area for walking and some lovely views. There are paths around the green and trails through the ancient wood. Big open spaces for families and friends to enjoy. Also great muddy puddles:) New photos added. Does anyone know if this area is protected by a body of such...ie #essexwildlifetrust I hope people continue to protect this country side.

Lovely country park with beautiful deciduous woodlands and large meadows to come for a long stretch with family, friends or your furry friends. There are lots of benches to sit, relax and enjoy the views of the lands below. There are good views of the Thames estuary and only five minutes to the centre of Basildon. The main attraction for us was of course the Vange well No.5. Vange well No.5 or commonly known as Mr Edwin Cash's well is situated on the Langdon Hills ridge at the edge of Martinhole Wood, off One Tree Hill, just inside the parish of Fobbing. This area is part of the Langdon Hills Country Park. It took us about 10 min walk to get there. Mr Edwin Cash, a retired publican of the Angel Pub, Islington, ran the Vange Mineral Water Co., from 1919 to 1924. Edwin Cash, former licensee of the ‘Angel’ in Islington. His company Vange Water Co. Ltd. bottled the water which had been tested and shown to have a high mineral content. The business unfortunately has stopped due to believed possibility of spring water could be affected by the West Ham TB Hospital. Since that time, sadly, it has been left to fall into decay and the woods have now engulfed it. Even though it is now a ruin, it is easy to imagine it in its heyday when it resembled a small, domed, classical temple. There are also two cars parks, open from 8am to dusk and they are free of charge, toilets facilities with disabled access, picnic area, horse and cycle rides and of course viewpoints. Walks are mostly well signposted. Definitely recommend it!

Perfect park, different carparks and different access routes, today went to the park behind the Miller and Carter steakhouse, just like the other side there is a toilet block and car park, lots of dog walkers and due to the time of year and weather boots and warm clothes recommended Update as you can see from the latest photos which are from One tree hill after the snow, its very muddy and wellies are essential and even with those it's pretty difficult to walk safely over some of the entrances and exits to wooded areas and fields, my advice is stick to the paths at the bottom that run parallel to the fields

Essex Wildlife Trust Thameside Nature Discovery Park, located on the Thames Estuary, offers a variety of attractions for families and nature enthusiasts. The park features playgrounds for both younger and older children, with boat-themed structures and an assault course. Visitors can also explore nature hides to observe birds, walking trails, and a visitor center with a viewing deck. Additionally, the park provides opportunities for birdwatching, ship watching along the Thames, and historical exploration.
Lovely round wooden building with a cute gift shop with lots of eco things and dog toys. The cafe look great but the food is disappointing, I had a very dry baked potato served on a tiny plate with no salad and my partner had some very go hum cheese on toast. A real missed opportunity as the cafe has wonderful views of the huge cranes of the container port and lots of incredible birds.

Great location on the banks of the Thames, free parking and good cafe and shop but for children brilliant park area with swings and various play apparatus the best zip wire ever according to my grandchildren Various length paths provide excellent walks with a number of bird hydes.

This place it is pure bliss!!! Amazing place to go for a walk alone ( although it is nature, u feel safe ) or with your dog , chill for a coffee and unwind from the busy life. It is a bliss!!! I could have not enjoy the time spent there more 🤩🤩🤩 There's a parking, playground for children, a coffee shop, clean toilets inside and a souvenir shop. The view it is amazing. Especially from the roof top which you can access it via the coffee shop. Apparently after 5pm the place it is closed. So not sure if you can access the grounds as there is a gate at the start of path that leads to the coffee shop.

A lovely countryside park next to the Thames, lovely gentle walks ands a small park for young children. I wish they would improve the initial access road into the park, it is absolutely dreadful, potholes everywhere, not ideal for low profile tyres so take note. Apart from this minor problem the rest is wonderful.

An amazing place, open footpaths that are used and suitable for walkers, dog walkers (on leads), runners and cyclists. As you can see from the photos the views are great and the nature information are useful and interesting for kids and adults. The main building has a viewing platform on the roof and a cafe, with shop. There is a viewing hide with benches that I imagine would be popular with bird watchers. We are lucky to have this and I really hope people enjoy it for years to come, please use the cafe and they accept donations

We stumbled across this place whilst out exploring one Sunday and it's a real find. It had a good cafe, friendly staff, well stocked shop, and fantastic views. The nature reserve was peaceful, and we will definitely be going back.
Sophie H — Google review
Wonderful play area for kids having an amazing zip line that the kids loved. Nice cafe and gifts shop with amazing views from the rooftop. Free to visit, can donate if you want to help conserve nature. There are walks around the place and an area for bird watching too.

This really is a hidden gem I'm Essex! Stunning views of the Thames and a beautifully kept wildlife reserve. The centre offers gifts and hot drinks and snacks. It has incredible views from the roof platform. There is plenty of parking and great walks, from short to long, all on well made paths. Finally, the outdoor play area caters for all ages of children. Great for a family day out.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Turkish Best Kebab. This gem is known for its consistently amazing food that keeps customers coming back for more. The friendly staff are always eager to assist you in selecting the perfect meal, ensuring your dining experience is enjoyable from start to finish. One of the standout features here is their cooking method; they use real charcoal, which imparts an authentic grilled flavor to their meats that you simply can't replicate with electric or gas grills.
Very friendly staff, happy to talk and help to choose right meal for you. They cook it on real charcoal instead of electric/gas ones and that's what gives to the meat real grilled taste. I have tried just burger so far - the real half pounder and I really enjoyed it. If you you are very hungry you can add chips. They have the thin ones and trust me you will not finish small portion by yourself. So to make it short - you should definitely try them when you walk past and your stomach is crying :)

Food was okay but got charged for collection more than for delivery on their own website. When asked why I’m being charged more the response was * Next time order online* disappointing customer service.

AVOID Absolutely disgusting service, got a chicken and lamb kebab This is what I paid £14.50 for and my husband got a kebab!! Complained about the lack of food, for them to hang up on me, If you want good quality food I seriously advice you to go elsewhere.
Debra P — Google review
It is the worst ever kebab...It is not actually kebab what I received, it's a disgrace for the Turkish kitchen, I received meat and rice instead of Large shish kebab, I received a small special chicken shish kebab with one piece of meat instead of a medium one They didn't even bother to put the 3rd one, chicken donner kebab, and had to call in and wait for another 30 mins, to get the whole order. The chips were cold, I ordered 2 cheese and chips, which only had a bit of cheese on top, and were cold chips by the time they arrived, while the delivery was just less than 1.5 miles away You can see in photos.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than German Doner Kebab (GDK). I recently ventured to try their vegan option, and even as a non-vegan, I was pleasantly surprised by its delicious flavor and generous portion size. The hot sauce packs quite a punch, adding an exciting kick to the meal. While the fries could have been more plentiful and the prices seemed slightly elevated—perhaps due to location—the overall experience was worth it.
Great food and excellent service! Everything tasted amazing and was served fresh. Special thanks to Iraj for her warm and attentive service — she really made the experience even better. Highly recommend!
Rehman W — Google review
Raw chicken inside all meat meals. Plain fries instead of cheese fries. An order for over £20 went to the bin. I remember that a few years ago the food was amazing despite the small portions. This should be audited and closed by the FSA
Michał Ż — Google review
I am very disappointed with the food and service we received during our visit today. My wife and I ordered two Doner rice bowls, but unfortunately, the food was not up to standard. The rice and meat were both cold — the rice was hard, and the meat was dry and difficult to eat. The salad was also not fresh, which was very concerning. What added to the disappointment was the service. The staff at the counter did not seem attentive, and overall hygiene and presentation were below expectations. This was surprising and disheartening because I remember when this place used to be clean, welcoming, and served delicious, fresh food. Sadly, it seems the quality has declined over time instead of improving. I have been a loyal customer for years, always hoping the standards would return to what they once were, but after today’s experience, I don’t think I will be coming back. With so many other halal food options available, it’s hard to justify paying high prices for food and service of such low quality. I truly wish I could give half a star for this experience, as even one star feels generous.

Before writing this review I had spoken to the manager on a phone call the day of incident… I placed an order online last week, when my food arrived the bread was burnt and the food just had an ash taste given how burnt the bread was, the fries was spicy fries not the cheesy fries I had ordered, I spoke to the manager the same day after receiving my order and throwing the majority in the bin because it was inedible. He advised that I could get a replacement meal if I ordered again next time online and to call prior to doing so. I called yesterday a number of times and I have called today a number of times and no one is now answering the phone at all! He fobbed me off with lies, even stated the bread batch he got was faulty and had been replaced but yet surely the person serving could see the bread was burnt and still sent it off to me for delivery and what I’m most furious about is the fact the manager did not keep to his word, I was questioning this “call before you order next time and we will send a replacement out” bs on the phone the day of the order and I was right too because nobody is ever going to answer the phone now. That’s why he was so confident in offering that to me on the phone. I’m fuming at the lack of care and lack of service and to top it all off the straight up blatant LIE about sorting it out! Iv never been this angry at a food establishment ever! More so about being played off with a bs excuse and lie about “call next time” I knew I should haven’t accepted that bs but I gave them the benefit and I should never have! Avoid this place at all cost if manager can’t be a decent human being you have to wonder what else goes on behind the scenes.

We were served by Milon today - we received excellent service from a very chirpy and friendly approachable gentleman. He took our order and even suggested some various options that could be nice, To which we obliged and immensely delighted with our order - star guy! Amazing establishment with great options - Will certainly be visiting again.

Food is always delicious and top notch. Doner meat is fresh and juicy. Always come here with family. Staff is very welcoming and friendly they guide very well according to cravings.
Tejasri D — Google review
Very disappointed with the food quality and taste. Ordered the doner rice, and spicy sauce in a box. The food was very bland and there was no sauce on the salad or rice ,it was quite dry. The Doner and sauce quantity was not enough to mix with rice and salad, to bring out any taste. I ended up reaching out to the person on till, where they kindly offered and gave 2 pots of spicy sauces. unfortunately, the food was still bland and I bought some spicy fries from taco bell to push the food in. Overall not a great experience and would AVOID this place in future.

We came in for a meal today and we really enjoyed it. Sue was the lovely lady who served us, we enjoyed having a laugh and chat but overall Sue made sure we had everything we needed and checked that everything was good. We will be coming back.

Our starters "chicken goujons" were served up on the plate as per picture, they were very much bird's-eye dippers with a dip! One of the mains (fish) was served with COLD peas, which were handed to the waitress, she then took the entire plate away and returned a few minutes later with "warm peas" The steak flat bread was a joke All in all a very big disappointment , I wouldn't advise anyone to bother with this place

Children running and screaming everywhere one ran straight into my leg full pelt the parents did nothing other than laugh, my mum has a walking stick so lucky that did not happen to her. Breakfast was served with egg shell in, the waitress swapped it over but waited 12 mins by that time my family had finished eating there was more egg shell in this lot of eggs to and now I’ve done something bad to my tooth which I’m going to have to get dental treatment for. Shambles of a place went to go over to the manager to explain what had happened but found her bitching about other staff rather than working, do not reccomend. Bacon too underdone, everything else no flavour. What a way to spend a 65th birthday complete and utter shambles AVOID

We attended here for a Saturday afternoon lunch. It wasn't too busy when we arrived as there were plenty of empty seats. We were served quite promptly after being sat down and the starters didn't take very long to come out at all. I asked for no jalapeños on my nachos due to the spice, it came out with no jalapeños but instead they put chopped red chillis on them which are obviously even more spicy. So I had to remove those which was tedious but other than that they were nice. The mains were just ok for the most part. I ordered the surf and turf combo as seen in the photos (steak with the prawns on top). Mine was meant to come with skin on fries but it ended up having chunky chips (which I prefer much less the fries). I ordered my steak medium rare but it was cooked over medium. Hardly any pink in the middle at all. So overall not great. Once the mains had come the service dropped off quite a bit. It did get busier so I understand it will get harder for the serving staff but it took a long time for our plates to get cleared and to receive the menus again to order dessert. Even after the desserts, it took quite a while to obtain the bill to pay and leave. It cost us £145 for 4 adults and 2 kids. Everyone had starters and mains. Only a couple had desserts and there were 3 glasses of wine ordered too. Value for money wasn't terrible but I'd recommend visiting midweek and taking advantage of their lunch time/evening menu meal deals.

We booked a table for 9 people and waited an hour and half for drinks to come out. After an eternity the food finally arrived and 2 of our meals were cold so we complained and they were swiftly replaced but again they came to the table cold which is an absolute joke. Jody our waitress couldn't apologise more and was rushed off of her feet and couldn't keep up with the amount of people dining at the restaurant so it goes to show that this company are too tight to employ more staff and that the management do not care about their customers. If you want to be treated with courtesy, respect and decency go and spend your money at harvester
Tootex — Google review
Disappointing option from the menu. Ordered the Sirloin steak salad with Chimichurri, but what arrived was more like a steak with a garnish of rocket. The potatoes were undercooked and crunchy and the steak, although pretty decently cooked was 20% grissel! Wouldn't order again, although credit to the servers for knocking off the price of my drink...

We had a lovely meal at the Beefeater Haywain and were really impressed with the service. Our waitress, Sue, was fantastic – friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right throughout our visit. She was welcoming and helpful, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was also very good, but it was Sue’s excellent service that really stood out. Thank you for looking after us so well! Danni was also an absolute gem. Would recommended 10/10.

Modern Indian restaurant
Monty's Curry Centre is a delightful gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. On my first visit, I was welcomed by friendly staff and enjoyed a peaceful atmosphere, as I was the only customer on a Monday night. The menu boasts an array of vegetarian options alongside standout dishes like Lamb Korai and butter chicken, which come highly recommended. The mix grill is also a must-try!
Amazing service. Every staff was so lovely and they had some lovely recommendations. Would really suggest everyone to try their Lamb Korai and their butter chicken!!! The mix grill was just the best thing to top off the dinner.
