Stein's Fish & Chips, located in the heart of Padstow, is a must-visit for seafood lovers. Renowned chef Rick Stein has brought his culinary expertise to this humble dish, ensuring that the fish is fried in beef dripping and accompanied by freshly-cut chips. The menu features a variety of fresh fish and shellfish, including cod, haddock, hake, bream, and lemon sole sourced from local waters.
The haddock and chips were delicious – pure white fish and not greasy at all. The chips were also very nice. I tried my friend’s cod, which was good too. The friendly staff and clean, modern decor made for a pleasant dining experience.
Dean L — Google review
We enjoyed our visit to Stein’s Fish & Chips, the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. My husband had the Catch of the day and chips which ended up being a cod-like fish - it was very nice and fresh. I had the special - soft shell crab chilli burger and it was very tasty, but a bit scary to look at! (I expected a patty not a whole crab!). The reason for 4/5 stars was it felt more like very good pub fish and chips and not the sea-side slightly greasy fish and chips I was hoping for, but might be personal preference. The unlimited chips was great although my husband and I shared his chips and didn’t want seconds.

Disappointing ! So, this was a treat from my wife and son for my birthday. I fish a lot, both here and abroad, and I cook my catch regularly, so I know what I'm talking about. I'm a big fan of Rick's cookery programmes and books, and cook his recipes at home. So things were set for an enjoyable experience. I was quite underwhelmed ! We had the sampler menu for 2 people. The fish were supposedly hake, lemon sole, pouting and whiting. The only one with any sort of flavour was what they identified as whiting (I think they may have been muddled up as it tasted more like sole). The 3 other fish were very very bland, with any flavour they did have being totally masked by the huge amount of batter. To make matters worse, the batter held onto the oil / beef dripping so much that everything was incredibly greasy. There was barely any fish when compared to the amount of batter. Price - if it had been the best fish and chips of my life I could accept the high price tag . . . . . . but it wasn't. I've had better fresh fish with huge flavour and larger portions at half the price back home in Kent. For somewhere that has good local ingredients from a company that is supposedly renowned for fish cookery, it was very poor. It needs the boss (Rick) to drop in unannounced and do some quality control. And ask himself if he's happy putting his name to the product. I know I wouldn't be ! Save your money, walk round to the harbour and get fish and chips there. Twice the quality and quantity at half the price.

We enjoyed our visit to Stein's fish and chip restaurant in Padstow this evening. We were celebrating my wife's birthday. We chose the 4 fish sharing platter and it was excellent. The fish was very nicely cooked, and the dish was a good size for two people. We were both warm after quite a lot of walking throughout the day so we both chose a coke zero with ice and lemon to drink with our meal. We've eaten here a few times in the past and this was probably our favourite visit. The restaurant itself was not too busy with most tables with either 2s or 3s. Our waitress was welcoming and polite and looked after us throughout our meal. Well done all.

We started our week in Padstow with a trip to Rick Stein’s Fish & Chips. It did not disappoint! We really enjoyed the cod and chips, and had a side of scampi with halloumi. It will always be on our list when in Padstow. Excellent food every time!
Richard W — Google review
Just had wonderful Fish and Chips at Stein’s. We had small Cod and Chips and the Forgotten Fish and Chips, which was Pouting…both were excellent. The beef dripping (which is all too rare nowadays) gives the dish lovely flavour and there are great wines too!
Martin C — Google review
Battered cod and chips, fried in beef dripping, matched with tangy tartare sauce, mushy peas, salt and malt vinegar made for one of the best meals of my life. Fabulous service and wonderful ambience make Rick’s well worth a visit when in Cornwall.

I’m Scottish and have eaten fish and chips 🍟 all my life. This was the BEST THING I have ever eaten! First class 👏🏼 Sssh. There are picnic tables hidden around the back of the takeaway store.

Located in Padstow, the National Lobster Hatchery is a conservation center that offers tours of its nursery and educational activities. Visitors also have the opportunity to adopt a hatchling. The hatchery plays a crucial role in preserving Cornwall's coastal heritage and supporting local communities through its lobster stock enhancement program. By visiting the hatchery, guests can learn about the importance of protecting lobster populations and contribute to this essential conservation work.
informative and enjoyable, loved seeing the babies. staff were very friendly and had loads of information to share with us about the mums with eggs. they have a cute little gift shop with magnets, toys etc etc. fair price. £8 for an adult and return all year, we are not from the area but visit a couple times a year so to be able to come next time for free is a winner!
Lauren P — Google review
If you're visiting on holiday the £24 family access is quite a lot for what's there. We were done in about 45 min including letting the kids colour and do the word searches etc upstairs. However you can visit as much as you like for 12m so it does offer good value in that respect. My kids enjoyed the activity area and watching the boats so you could return to kill an hour or so fairly often if you were local. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable and spent ages answering questions, plus the view from the first floor across the estuary is beautiful. You can see a lot of thought has been put into making it more of an attraction. If you can find a place with leaflets for days out, you'll likely find a voucher which definitely makes it better value for money.
Hayley T — Google review
We visited for the first time this half term. It’s rather small but really informative and educational and the volunteers are so passionate and we learnt a lot we didn’t know about lobsters 🦞, definitely recommend as it’s a little gem of a place to learn all about them! We will definitely visit again on our next trip to Cornwall, easily accessible from the parking directly opposite and then we went into padstow for ice cream after
Elizabeth R — Google review
Loved it, very informative, a little shorter than anticipated but not sure how it could be extended. Nice to see what they do, how they help lobsters and a history of how they've done it. I'd recommend it. Not too expensive. (Gutted the gift shop didn't have any pens- I like to collect pens from everywhere I visit)
Craig G — Google review
A surprisingly interesting place. A small but perfectly formed experience. We took the grandchildren and unexpectedly stayed for over two hours. It was fascinating to learn about lobsters and the important work of the Hatchery. Friendly and helpful staff. Great to see the lobsters, especially the baby ones. Informative film too.
Charlotte H — Google review
The hatchery is located in Padstow by the harbourside. It relys totally on funding from visitors to the centre and so I would encourage anyone to go and visit and support this brilliant project. The centre is small but there are lots of tanks with sea creatures to view, lots of very interrelated information about lobsters that I never knew about and upstairs you can watch a very clever film about lobsters and the young ones have an area where they can get active with colouring etc. I visited as part of my Lobster release course with Scuba Ry Divers and I will definitely return. Well worth a visit to support a worthy cause
Julie M — Google review
It's a nice place to look around but in my opinion it's a little pricey. Fair enough once you pay the first time you can go back for free for a year but I don't think that there is enough there for a return journey. It's a good place to bring the kids and they can learn all about lobsters and even see baby ones.

Extremely interesting, fun and informative. So good that I had to go twice! Great for kids and adults alike, friendly staff and a little shop too.

Rick Stein, a renowned chef, opened his flagship restaurant in Padstow in 1975. Overlooking the Camel estuary, the stylish waterside venue offers modern fish and seafood menus. The restaurant boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and a zinc-topped seafood bar, serving top-quality fresh seafood simply cooked. Additionally, Rick Stein's establishment is known for its international reputation for serving the freshest fish and shellfish.
I was not disappointed after waiting a long time to eat here. Living in Australia means I dont get to Cornwall often. Beautiful setting and nice atmosphere friendly, professional staff and wonderful food. Not a huge menu, but delicious and beautifully presented. Lots of tables and not too close, busy but not full on the night i was there. Their take on a Pina Colada was both surprising and delicious.

Nice location for a restaurant. Enjoyed my meal. Wonderful staff. Couldn't be friendlier or more eager to help us. The menu didn't wow me...nothing on it that I hadn't had elsewhere BUT what I did choose was cooked beautifully. The dishes took their time coming out which is always a good sign. All being freshly prepared. I would happily return .

This had been a bucket list location and I was not let down. We stayed two nights eating in the restaurant and met all my expectations and more.Well worth the expense. Service was exceptional and glad to see the service charge was all given to the staff. It is a fish restaurant and the quality of the food was fantastic.Loved every minute of my stay. Stayed in estuary view room which allowed us to have a free parking space as free parking is limited. The breakfast in the morning was the best breakfast i have ever had at any hotel stay

Wow, what an experience that was totally enhanced by the charming Alex who coached a very novice sea food eater. Having never tried oysters, muscles, or crevettes, Alex walked me and my partner through the entire process of enjoying these wonderful, locally caught seafood. My personal thanks go to Alex for making my first taste of these delicacies a memorable one for all the right reasons.

Rick - your chefs are fantastic and we were grateful to being chefs for the day. Well we all are everyday, but the cooking school was fantastic and enhancing. Thank you. Tonight we've enjoyed fish and shell fish soup back in Carbis Bay with a French boule, so we've been truly been spoilt.
Alastair S — Google review
We absolutely loved our takeaway fried fish, but considering how expensive everything was, we were overall a little underwhelmed. The whelks didn't taste fresh (dried edges and incredibly chewy), and the chips were very soggy and bland. We're glad we went for the experience, but wouldn't hurry back.
Carla M — Google review
Visited Rick Stein's in Padstow for the first time over the summer. The lobster thermidor was an absolute standout - rich, creamy, and decadent. Though it sounds like a cliché, you can definitely taste the difference in quality with the produce being locally caught. The tempura soft shell crabs to start were a delight too - perfectly crispy and goes very well with the soy dipping sauce. My only criticism would be the price, a little expensive for what you get, but with excellent service and ambience, Rick Stein's is a great place for a special meal in Padstow.

Had to visit on our current holiday to Cornwall. Been a few years since last visit. Came in the late afternoon, so late lunch so found a pastie shop bought a few bits and the family had a small picnic along the harbour wall. Scenery was amazing fantastic sunny day . Even got a little pub stop done before heading off .can't wait to come back and try new shops and eateries.

We stopped here for breakfast before going on one of the Sea Safari’s and so glad we tried this place! The food was amazing, I had the Harbourside Start which was the perfect size and my partner had the Full Cornish. Everything was cooked perfectly and so tasty. I also couldn’t resist a slice of the chocolate layer cake because it looked amazing and tasted even better! The service was fabulous, everyone was really friendly, it was super quick but not rushed, and there were plenty of staff but all there for a reason and it didn’t feel like too much. We’ll gladly come here again next time we’re in Padstow!
Ellie G — Google review
Have to say, the coffee here is some of the best I've had. We had some gorgeous food here and ther service was friendly and quick. Our only let down was that the cake we had after wasn't quite cooked in the middle so we had to leave some of it. We would still recommend it and we would return.
Richard O — Google review
The best cafe in Cornwall! Fabulous service, incredible cakes, great coffee. They even have a takeaway hatch if you're in a hurry as there is usually a wait for a table. The wait, however, is worth it! The photos are from previous years, so any prices will be out of date.

Came with a family of 4 for breakfast on a weekend, lovely cosy place with great food and coffee. This place is clearly the go-to in the village for breakfast/brunch and given the size of the place you should definitely come early for a table. Service was spectacular too and I believe 3 different ladies there checked in on us, all very attentive.

Was really busy and absolutely deserved to be so. Our pasties and cakes were amazing, my toffee popcorn cheesecake a particular treat and the colleagues were really lovely. If there's a queue then wait, it's totally worth it!!
Doug D — Google review
Only real negative is the cafe has only a small seating area. You can put your name on a queue but peak summer this could be a long wait. We were lucky and only had to wait 20mins. Food, service, etc all fantastic.

Padstow Fish & Chips is a casual eatery where you can enjoy classic fish and chips, as well as other delicious options like burgers, sausages, and savory pies. The restaurant serves food quickly without any unnecessary fuss. They offer traditional British fare in a counter service style. Their menu includes freshly cooked fish fillets served with crispy fries made from potatoes, along with tasty accompaniments such as tangy tartar sauce or rich tomato ketchup.
Lovely place to eat right on the harbour with ,gorgeous views.Very busy during the day but later is a quiet time so much better to enjoy your food.
Anne A — Google review
Like dozens of other reviewers who have left their opinions and experiences- Absolutely disgusting, this is what we found underneath our awful fish, even more disgusting food. We visit Cornwall a lot, and these are by far the worst fish and chips we have ever had. Had we opened our package before we got back to our rental cottage I would have taken them back and demanded our money back, they went straight in the bin. I work with Trading Standards and environmental health teams, and I will be making an official complaint about this fish and chips shop. What a complete rip off, they are conning people out of their hard earned money. We will never go here again.
Sarah — Google review
Honestly don’t know what all these poor reviews are talking about, we had a lovely sit down meal overlooking the harbour. Delicious food, beautiful cod and although the chips looked pale, they were actually perfectly crisp and fluffy. Maybe we got lucky but all of us enjoyed our meal.
Callum P — Google review
We had 2 portions of chips to takeaway. They were fairly expensive at £4.50 a portion. Only about a third we’re edible. The rest were tiny pieces most without any potato in them! Both my husband and myself threw more away than we ate. Worst chips we have probably ever had and eat regularly in many different places
Misty — Google review
Two adult fish and chips, a kids fish and chips and sausage and chips was £58 in the restaurant. The chips were fine but the fish was terrible, a really thin piece of cod which had very thick batter which was still raw, made for a very poor tasting and oily, a very disappointing experience. The view of the harbour is nice though. A shame and a waste of money.
John L — Google review
Padstow is such a great city, don’t waste your money at this restaurant!!! The fish and chips are simply bad, but the burgers are an absolute disaster! Lukewarm, dry, and tasting like leftovers from yesterday. Especially the veggie burger is a complete mess – there are so many good alternatives out there, but this patty is by far the worst I’ve ever had. The cherry on top is that you even have to PAY extra for CHEESE on your burger?!?! They desperately need better patties, better buns, and overall a serious upgrade when it comes to the food, especially considering the high prices. The only positive thing: the staff was quite friendly
Jörn N — Google review
Chips are okay. Batter on my haddock as hard, over cooked and flat. Not airy and light. Cod was dripping in oil, made it inedible. Very over priced for the poor quality.
Luke M — Google review
Not just a chip shop. We went in for breakfast overlooking the harbour and had the full Cornish breakfast with a cuppa. It was cooked to perfection. The staff were helpful and friendly, the whole place was clean and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

We came here on a family trip five years ago and our second visit did not disappoint! Customer service exceptional along with the food. We were also impressed with the vegetarian/vegan menu for my husband. He ordered from the vegetarian menu and we also ordered from the à la carte and set lunch menu. The latter is excellent value for three courses and a glass of white wine at £40. I ordered from here the heritage tomato salad with burrata, salmon with warm tartare sauce and blackberry pavlova. Would definitely come here again and recommend to anyone in the area. Thank you for another lovely meal and visit!

The food here is rich, yet delicious. The best dishes we had were the wild sea bass and the mackerel. I’ve never had mackerel or even seen it on a menu but it is my new favorite dish. My husband, who is an extremely picky eater even loved it. We also got the risotto, which everyone said was their favorite but I thought it was too heavy. I do feel like they could go without some of the butter because the food was fresh enough on its own and didn’t need that masking it. My husband and I dined here on a Monday night so maybe they had their staff in training working but we found it to be very slow. I also didn’t like how our server really didn’t have any idea about anything on the menu, including any allergy information. She did come back and tell me that almost anything could be made gluten free which is a huge plus but I was just surprised she didn’t know that ahead of time. Oh and they have gluten free bread which was really nice too! If you have some time and would like a nice meal then I would recommend going but like I said, expect to stay a while.

Great food and restaurant, we had the 4 course taster and it was delicious. The treacle tart was very sweet though . Only criticism was the high 12.5% service charge that was almost as much as half the main! Else would of left a tip so decided to take it off. Think you should have a choice.

Ignore any average reviews … this is the real deal. We enjoyed the 50 year 4 course menu and every selection was fresh and perfect. The service was outstanding thanks to our waiter Daniel. We are hoteliers of 40 years, trust me this is wonderful, and highly recommended.

The seafood was fresh and delicious. We had the "Share by Two" seafood platter, which came with a generous portion. They also offered a special four-course menu to celebrate their 50th anniversary — excellent value and a great way to sample a variety of dishes, all of which were beautifully prepared and tasted great. The only downside was the slightly long wait between courses and a few minor mistakes on our order during the meal. Aside from that, everything else was perfect.
Chuu0417 — Google review
We celebrated my 60th birthday with the 50 celebration menu this evening. Just perfect! The food of course was delicious, with extra courses added as complementaries, but what really made it special was the staff- our own waiter was so lovely, attentive of course, and warm & funny, & other staff who served us were equally relaxed & very welcoming. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, the service excellent. A wonderful evening!
Julie V — Google review
an absolutely exquisite dining experience, the freshness of the seafood served here is unparalleled and worth the price. the staff are lovely, welcoming, attentive, and exceptionally skilled at filleting the fish besides your table which was extraordinary to watch. the octopus starter is the softest, freshest, most creamy octopus i’ve ever tasted. i recommend the ‘fruits de mer’ which is a selection of fresh shellfish served on ice - it was absolutely delicious. pair it with rick steins white wine recommendation! the decor in the place is pleasant with a selection of interesting artwork. we will definitely be coming back!

Paul Ainsworth at No.6 What an amazing dining experience from the team at Paul Ainsworth at No.6, starting with cocktails and nibbles at the beautiful CiCi Bar. The dinner was simply outstanding — how this isn’t ⭐️⭐️ is anyone’s guess. It’s pure world-class. We chose the tasting menu, which on this visit was very fish and shellfish-led — we were in heaven! There’s now also the option of a two- or three-course à la carte menu if you prefer. Every dish was flawless, from the soup and scones right through to the desserts — my photos don’t even do it justice. Service was attentive without being stuffy; the team were friendly, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about what they do. I’ve been lucky enough to dine at No.6 three or four times now, and it just keeps getting better. This was simply an unforgettable experience.

We had the most incredible evening at Paul Ainsworth at No.6 in Padstow. The food was outstanding—creative, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Every course was a highlight. A huge thank you to the team for the thoughtful birthday touches, which made the celebration feel extra special. The sommelier’s wine knowledge was exceptional, with perfect pairings that enhanced every dish. Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring from start to finish. A memorable experience in every way—we can’t wait to return.

We went for experience one (on the menu), and what an experience it was! We went for Anniversary, and I must say it did not disappoint. Everything was perfect - the attention to detail, the service and most importantly the delicious food. Thanks for an amazing experience in itself, dining with you! Hard to see how we top this next year 😅.

Paul Ainsworth’s flagship restaurant, No. 6, is a truly exceptional dining experience. From the moment you walk in you are cared for. The staff are professional with the right touch or casual so it doesn’t feel stuffy. The food is some of the best I’ve had. The dishes are unique, thought out, beautiful, and bloody delicious. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. One of the few truly exceptional meals I’ve ever had.
Kevin D — Google review
This was an excellent meal and I feel it is one of the best one-star restaurants in the country - a few of the courses felt like they would be at home in a top two-star restaurant! The opening course with the pea soup and cheddar scone is fabulous and they serve the best butter I have ever tasted to go alongside it. The turbot dish is also particularly good and the pastry section is something else - the Valhrona chocolate dessert is one of the best I have had. The wine and hospitality was very good as well; Oli and Loren looked after me and they did an amazing job and their enthusiasm was palpable. I highly recommend eating here.
Fred K — Google review
A fantastic meal in a restaurant that 100% deserves its Michelin star. From the amuse bouche to the petit four, everything was a wonder of depth of flavour and texture. Elliot who served us a number of dishes was the epitome of professionalism and friendliness. Highly recommended for a special meal.

A Fantastic pub . The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Jane / Bo and Sam were very attentive. Definitely be coming again. Very dog friendly as well

We were after crab sandwiches. Saw a sign outside saying that they sold them. Popped in and had delicious crab sandwiches,a fish burger and a hamburger. Also got lager, cider and soft drinks. Would definitely go again.

Nice pub, very friendly staff. Comfy and cozy seating. Good range of proper beers, we had St Austell's Blue Ribbon beer which is apparently unique to the pub, and very nice too. Very dog friendly. We didn't have anything to eat but the pub looks well run, so would expect the food to be decent as well. We'd definitely visit again when back in Padstow.

Just had lunch at the Harbour Inn, food is the best pub food we've had in Padstow by far. Bold statement, but the home cooked (by Beau) Steak and Ale pie is best I've ever tasted. Fresh local mussels were also very good. Shout outs to Jane and Wendy in kitchen, welcoming bar staff. We're in north cornwall regularly and this will be our go to pub when we're in Padstow. Bakery
Takeout Restaurant
When in Padstow, Cornwall, a visit to The Chough Bakery is a must for anyone craving traditional Cornish pasties. This family-run bakery has been serving up award-winning pasties for 40 years, with flavors like cheese and leek, steak and blue cheese, and lamb and mint. Their secret ingredient of clotted cream gives their pasties an extra touch of Cornish authenticity.
Great position on the quayside. Very busy at peak season but you get served very quickly by the polite staff. Good choice of pasties, very tasty. One of the best in Cornwall. Very good seasoning and the meat is nice and moist. Found the pastry a little dry, non the less, still great pasties.
Paul L — Google review
The scones used to be large and distinct. We got some every year. Where have they gone? Very small now taste like Tesco's at twice the price. The pasties no longer lead the field so we shop elsewhere
John C — Google review
Pasties were once lovely from here so I was excited to be in Padstow. What a disappointment. 4 pasties, over £22 and served COLD! Who wants a cold pasty! When asked, they did warm them up but they were very dry and not enjoyable at all. So disappointing and we will never be back.
Joanne P — Google review
Have been a regular visitor to the Chough Bakery over the years and was excited to drop by again on a recent visit to Padstow. This time, I have to say I was really disappointed by their service. I asked about gluten free options on their cakes and their staff couldn’t confirm what allergens their cakes had. What was worse was the general disinterested attitude of the staff. Not good - especially as there is a sign above the counter requesting that you ask any questions about dietary allergies and intolerances. In the end I left without making a purchase.
Jonathan L — Google review
Disappointing pasties and teacakes. Both were bland in flavour and the pastry on the pasties was dry. Considering that Cornish pasties are a local specialty a bakery should be able to produce ones of good quality.
G R — Google review
Always go here when visiting Cornwall, great pasties, scones and take away cups of tea. Lovely staff who are always pleasant even when busy x

Generic catering style pasty not the same as they were here in the past. And also £4.95 for a medium steak.

“What happened to the big, round Bakewell tart you’ve always baked and served? It’s now just tiny oblong slices. At least Rick Stein’s Bakery round the corner still makes a proper full tart.”

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with Padstow Sealife Safaris, where experienced local skippers lead a variety of boat tours along the rugged North Cornwall coastline. From a two-hour safari covering 25 miles of coastline to a one-hour seal-watching trip, and even bespoke charter trips, there's something for everyone. Keep an eye out for porpoises and dolphins as you explore the stunning Camel Estuary.
Would definitely recommend the 2 hour wildlife tour. They provide all the kit, including waterproofs and the team were so knowledgeable and great at finding and pointing out all the wildlife. We were lucky enough to see dolphins, jellyfish, seals and puffins. Amazing value for money!

Wow, such a scenic view, enjoyed the sight of dolphins…I am glad I went there. A choice I can’t regret. It is safe, the sits are quite safe and the boat is so powerful and there is where to grab if you want to feel safer. they gave outfits to put on to protect from the splash of saltwater. The guide is knowledgeable and she was there to answer any questions. I highly recommend
Isabelle M — Google review
Well what can I say! Utterly magical! I was somewhat nervous about how fast or bouncy the journey would be at sea, but I need not have worried, it was brilliant and exciting and the guides forewarned you when they were about to pick up speed. Always attentively checking that everyone felt OK, I really felt safe with them. Holly I think our guide was called, was so warm and informative, a lovely mix that she got just right. We saw a lone seal, jelly fish, Cormorants, Gannets and the stars of the show Dolphins. 2 hours of excitement, stunning coastline views, sea views and sealife. Highly recommend. 👌
Michelle M — Google review
Loved the experience, though we didn’t get to see any Sealife it was still enjoyable especially if your someone who enjoys the water and the wind in your face. The guide gave us in depth knowledge of seals and history of the areas we stopped at.
Hawra M — Google review
5⭐️ The trip was exhilarating as we sped out to sea! On our 2-hour trip, we saw a couple of seals basking on 'The Mouls', and then about four miles off the coast, north of Port Isaac, we were thrilled to spot a small pod of dolphins, including one with its young calf. If you've ever looked at one of these holiday experiences and thought it might not be worth the cost, I urge you to reconsider. This was an absolutely excellent trip, even in September!

Despite a choppy overcast day. We saw a seal, baby short nosed dolphins and best of all, Puffins. The skipper was brilliant as was our guide, who's name I didn't get, but had orange hair. Was brilliantly informative. It was a wonderful morning.

Really enjoyed this visit, being escorted around by one of the family was a big bonus. What a charming , witty and knowledgeable lady. The only downside was the time of year we visited as the deer park with it's estuary views was closed due to the deer breeding.

Great place to visit. The family has lived there since 1592. So much history and still a family home. We had a tour and fortunately for us there we were the only 2 people on it at that time, noon. The guide Hazel was fantastic and extremely informative, friendly, and funny. We were so lucky to have a personal tour. The cafe was lovely and the food was good and tasty. Staff were helpful and friendly. The fallow deer they have were being fed at the time and my good lady got the chance to hand feed one of them. Definitely recommend visiting.

Lovely house and gardens. Not the biggest to look around, but if you're in the Padstow area and have half a day to spare, it's well worth a visit. The tour around the house is very good. Our guide (Carol in think?) was very informative and explained all about the various rooms, paintings and other artifacts. The walk around the garden is pleasant and not to challenging.
James M — Google review
The garden here is a lovely unpretentious and restful place to walk, with well chosen planting, as well as delightfully leafy woodland, with old trees, plenty of birdsong, and - in mid June - the lovely woodland smell of wild garlic. The paths are fairly easy for less able visitors, with plenty of places to stop and sit in shade or sun. Welcome peace and relief for those who don't wish to spend all of every day at the wonderful local beaches.

We did a house tour and it was fabulous. Carol our guide made it really interesting, and each of the rooms we saw was a ‘wow’ in a different way. Beautiful house with loads of history.

I was staying in Padstow and Prideaux Place was literally a ten minute walk away. It was a guided tour by a lovely member of the family who gave us a very interesting and informative tour around some of the main rooms. The history was fascinating and the hour went very quickly. The gardens, outbuildings and grounds are free for you to wander around at your own leisure. I did so after a delicious lunch sitting on the terrace in front of the house in glorious sunshine. To summarise I considered it well worth the entry fee and one not to be missed if staying in the Padstow area.

Bar
Pucelli's Restaurant is a warm and inviting Italian eatery located above Padstow Harbour, offering stunning views of the sailing and fishing boats. The restaurant has been serving authentic Italian dishes since 1983, including traditional pastas, meat, seafood plates, pizza, and fish dishes. With a focus on local produce, the menu features a variety of options for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Guests can enjoy generous portions of delicious food while taking in the picturesque harbor scenery.
Lovely Food, great service from all members of staff at the restaurant. The only thing that let it down was not the restaurant itself but the rude customers shouting about the service and the food, it was obvious they had been out previously and had a bit to drink which ruined the night for not only ourselves but the other families in there as well. Staff handled the situation well when one of the persons from this table tried to get up and start on the people who had made a comment about their behaviour in the restaurant. From our own table though the food was brilliant, staff were excellent and will be back again when we visit padstow again.

Love this place. Great food and menu choice, reasonable prices and good views of Padstow harbour. You can’t book so prepare to queue if busy, it’s worth the wait. Staff are excellent and food is always great.
Jason R — Google review
This place is rated 3 stars because of the long wait time (45 minutes) and the apparent disappointment from the pizza. Now you probably thinking “he’s crazy, this place sounds really disappointing,” However the pasta dish I had was one of my favourite dishes I had all holiday. It was delicious and had some long Italian name I can’t remember but I do know it was the only pasta dish with three chillies. Someone else also enjoyed a creamy gnocchi. 2 members of my family had a pizza and they were disappointed. Apparently the dough was not nice and the toppings felt like they had been frozen for an age. It overlooked the Padstow bay. I wouldn’t recommend for large parties during the height of the busy summer as you could be waiting a long time for a table. I’m also not sure if you could book. The wait was made better by the fact you could sit and order drinks in a wait area. There’s also a specials board so look out for that. I enjoyed but others were disappointed with the quality.
R. G — Google review
Great place to dine, one my favourites every time I visit here. Staff and service extremely pleasant and very helpful. It’s a busy location/ spot and they take walk-ins only. Drinks and menu - great choice and the chef has never failed to deliver an amazing dish with lovely presentation. Highly recommended to try this restaurant out. Ample seating, noise level is good as one can have a table conversation without hassle.

We booked a table with a view of Padstow harbour, which was lovely. The fritto misto fish started was well cooked but small for the price. There was very seabass, as though they had trimmed the edges off the fillet. Caramelized onion garlic bread was lovely. In terms of mains, the pucelli pizza was tasty but slightly oily. The mussels were delicious and a good portion size. The pulled pork macaroni was not to my taste but other members really liked it. The portion size was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The speed of service was good and overall a pleasant experience. The waiter did get distracted chatting with the table behind us so we had to wait a while for the table to be cleared

Phone and booked a table at the last minute during our short break in Padstow. We were very pleased with the location overlooking the harbour, relaxed atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff. The menu had lots to offer for us and the prices were modest compared to a lot of pubs and restaurants in Padstow that have let the overall success of Padstow go to their heads and charging silly money even for burgers etc. As I said the staff were friendly and good fun especially the young couple from Manchester. Would certainly recommend and visit again the next time we are in Padstow.

Western restaurant
Greens of Padstow is a stylish waterfront outpost in the foodie capital of Cornwall, offering classic cafe dishes and drinks with a unique twist - an 18-hole mini-golf course in its garden. The restaurant overlooks the harbor and boasts panoramic views of the Camel Estuary, making it a perfect spot for breakfast, dinner, or an alfresco meal on the outside terrace.
Great place, we stopped here with a baby & toddler. The views are stunning and the food & service is great, the crazy golf kept my 4 year daughter entertained while my wife fed the baby. Offers shorter clubs for little ones.
Richard H — Google review
Nice restaurant for lunch, nice views so good on a warm day sitting outside. Dogs are not allowed inside, you have to wait for tables, so it's a bit of a strange experience. The food was good but on the pricey side. I had the stake sandwich, and the quality just misses the price tag bracket for me. The golf is good for an after lunch experience.
Tim O — Google review
Great place with amazing views of Padstow. As others have said it is dog friendly which meant our pre- dinner drinks were ruined by inconsiderate owners allowing their dog to bark and cry the whole time we were there. Obviously not the restaurants fault, but still a shame they couldn’t do anything about it.
Jamie A — Google review
Was so disappointed with the ice cream. The portion was ridiculously small and it cost £9 for one miniscule one scoop and an equally tiny two scoop which was £6!! I went back and questioned the price of the scoop and it was confirmed - £6. Seems crazy. To have a picture of a lovely big ice cream advertising them outside then serve scoops approx half the size of a dessert spoon is crazy. I feel as though I have been ripped off which is a horrible feeling.

Decent food but very pricey. Service was absent and when present, very slow. was stood at the front waiting for 5 mins as the waiter finished his convo with the staff.
Edwin L — Google review
Service was poor, we had to go and ask for drinks, turned up with kids and had to ask for the kids menu, waitress was a bit off when I asked for a pint and was told it was cans only, but suggested I get the bigger can which was fair enough, chunky chips were frozen chips, not the slab chips I’d been told to expect. On the plus side, chicken was nice, as was the sauce and veg. The 2 cans of beer were also tasty. Take plenty of money as well, prices are steep. £8.50 medium glass of wine, £6.50 can of beer, chicken supreme £28.95, rump steak £32.50, frozen chips £5.50

We played crazy golf here, a nice simple course with amazing views of Padstow

My friend took me out for lunch and crazy golf here for my birthday and we had the loveliest time! We both had the crab roll and shared some chips. We both said how delicious all the food was and such large portions! It is a bit pricey but as a treat it’s all perfect and we will definitely return! Thank you

It has a beautiful private dining room that seats up to 14 people where the à la carte menu can be ordered from. For more details visit rickstein.com. If you're in the mood for 1940s interiors and tasty cocktails, Ruby's Bar is the place for you!
Nice dog friendly cocktail bar, good selection of cocktails, nice atmosphere, a good selection of scotch and a few Japanese whiskey's. Table service was excellent, very attentive and helpful staff. We found it by accident as some stairs from St Petroc bistro took us to Ruby's Bar.

Rubys is a quaint drinking place in Padstow. Cocktails mainly. They are pretty good but certainly not on the challenging side for staff. There is a non discretionary charge of 12.5% added to your bill that one is not informed about. However this is not my issue with Ruby's. 3 of us went there Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th to finish of the evening with a few cocktails. On the Sunday when handed the bill at the end of the evening, I noticed the bill was excessive. They had added to our bill the previous round of drinks that had already been paid for. Pointed it out to the barman who put it down to a mistake. I accepted this response. The following morning at breakfast, talking about the events of the previous day, I relayed my experience at Ruby's the night before. My Daughter said she had paid for the last round of drinks on the Saturday evening and they done exactly the same to her. They had added on previous rounds of drink that had already been paid for. I then brought this to the attention of who i was told was the manager on monday evening and was told it would be looked into. I then get a call from the person who overcharged me saying he was the manager and it was all a misunderstanding. A mistake. No one with any integrity has contacted myself from Rubys or #ricksteins, even though i left messages. A cynical person may think there is a type of scam going on in Ruby's. Once is a mistake, twice is a choice. Most people i seen paying their bills did not check the invoice. Just swiped or tapped their cards or phones. Its an easy way to over charge or scam unsuspecting customers. Should you choose to visit Ruby's, the cocktails are decent but be aware of whatbyou are being charged for and check your bill.

Served by Sam with A1 class. This is a small bar that delivers with a local feel and laughs, friendly banter and the satisfaction of a proper night out. This is what it feels like to be a true local in a bar when you’re not a local. Loved it

Thankfully the gorgeous cocktails were worth the wait because we did have to wait. The ladies for their cocktails and the gentleman for their pints. Cocktails I expect to wait for because they are made fresh to order with many ingredients and components but not the men's pints.

Well done Sam, perfect customer service, creating a space of comfort and relaxing ambiance. We are big fans of RS and his influence on Padstow, and people like Sam running Ruby’s single handedly make all the difference

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Trevone Bay. Not quite as popular as National Lobster Hatchery, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 6 hours.

Beaches
Trevone Bay, located near Padstow, is a picturesque beach known for its Blue Flag Award in 2018. It's a popular spot for surfers with nearby water sports facilities and offers secluded alcoves along the coast. The beach features a large blowhole on top of the cliff and has seasonal dog bans. Visitors can enjoy the sandy inlet and explore the surrounding trails with stunning coastal views. Additionally, there are amenities such as a bar, restaurant, and shops nearby.
There are stunning views from the cliff tops surrounding the beautiful bay of Trevone. There is a lovely cafe close to the beach which serves delicious food and drinks which is pretty good priced. There are toilets beside the cafe which you have to pay to enter which is still cash only payment.
Julie D — Google review
Really nice little sandy beach with good facilities suitable for family with young children. There is also a tidal pool nearby. For those who prefer to hike, there is a path on both sides of the beach with amazing views. Look out for the Trevone Round Hole. There is a shop, cafe, bar, public toilet and two parking areas. You can pay for parking either with the ticket machine or via app.
Karl T — Google review
Lovely beach, shops, cafes and restaurants available. Accessible beach with a small slope. Benches to sit on if you don’t want to go on the beach. Good parking if you get there early enough.
Jodie D — Google review
Lovely beach for families, the little stream provides a perfect place for little ones to safely dip their toes in the water and the sand is soft and clean. The beach slopes gently so even the shallows are fairly safe. It's worth taking a walk up to Trevone Round Hole which takes about 30 minutes to go up, walk around the hole and get back to the beach. The views from the cliffs up there are stunning. The parking sign states that your ticket must be visible face up on the dash, but your timings are clocked by camera coming in and leaving so don't be tempted to over stay and go by the time you enter, not the time you get your ticket. The road down to the beach is very narrow so take it slowly as you will encounter oncoming traffic and pedestrians.
Hayley T — Google review
We only visited for last nights sunset so can't really give any detailed feedback on Trevone Bay. The road into Trevone was very tight and caution is advised with oncoming traffic. The car park was up on the hill over looking the beach and cost us around £4 for the hour and half we were there which is a little pricey but on par with other car parks around Cornwall. The beach is only small and was very busy with many there to watch the sunset and take a late night dip. The sunset didn't disappoint and was absolutely beautiful, my 2 children (5 & 11) had never watched a sunset before and will no doubt remember the experience the rest of their lives . Plenty of photo opportunities and will live long in the memory.

Roads tight take it steady reward at bottom is amazing beautiful clean beach amazing place 1000s of photo opportunities from the sea itself to rock formations and absolutely picture perfect place

THE bay to visit in Cornwall! Amazing bay, lovely shop, cafe and bar. Staff are so kind and helpful. Life guards on duty on normal times of the season. Just a magical place....
Anna R — Google review
Lovely little bay. On a big tide it leaves little to no beach likewise on a lower tide lots of sand is exposed. Can get rough, has waves, etc., so be cautious whilst swimming especially with kids. Either side of the bay is a rocky cliff face with some reef. There is a bar/restaurant near the car park which is expensive but that's expected, given the location.

My husband and I stayed at Padstow Holiday Village for a short break, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The site was spotlessly clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, with lovely views all around. The reception staff were so warm and welcoming when we arrived, which made us feel instantly relaxed and at home. Everything about our stay was enjoyable from start to finish a truly perfect getaway. Thank you to the team for making our stay so wonderful ,we’ll definitely be returning!

Nice well maintained site nice helpful staff. We was unlucky enough to have noisy neighbours but apart from that we are enjoying our stay, last week, we stayed at the sister site near fowey had the same Lodge but this Lodge was £300 more for reasons unknown, but yes highly recommend the site.

We loved the park and the lodge. We would definitely return. The lodge was comfortable and had great amenities. We had a minor issue that was solved straight away.

Enjoyed my stay at Padstow Holiday Village and regularly have mini breaks there during the year. However no Doggie Welcome pack as advertised and was a bit disappointed with the holiday home (76).It looked nothing like the photos or description, how 8 persons can sleep here is hard to fathom.I generally book a 2 bed Lodge which seem to be much larger and furnished to a higher standard. To describe the accommodation as Luxury is going a bit far. Anyway the staff as always were lovely and we had a great break. Will return in the spring but book a lodge.
Sean E — Google review
It was our 1st holiday to Cornwall, and the park didn't disappoint. Everything was wonderful, from the lovely welcome from reception staff, to walking into the immaculately clean lodge. You couldn't tell it was dog friendly, it had a lovely fresh smell. It was so comfortable. The extra special touches were great too, the welcome box for the dogs and fresh milk and apple juice in the fridge. Plus tea, coffee and sugar. All we had to do was unpack. It certainly won't be our last visit. We have stayed in many lodges, but this one was the best so far.
Anna D — Google review
We booked a pet friendly lodge. Our dog had his very own treat box of goodies on arrival and the whole village is dog friendly with treat stations, agility course and poo bags incase you run out. The lodge was outstanding and included everything we needed for self catering in the kitchen, we cooked a roast dinner, English breakfast and enjoyed cafetière coffees using all of the equipment provided. We shopped for our food in a local farm shop. The site is close to many small businesses so you can shop local. The site itself had everything we needed and we enjoyed day trips to Padstow and many surrounded beaches and coastal walks. Thank you for the best holiday!

Padstow Farm Shop

Farm shop
Padstow Farm Shop is a delightful deli that takes pride in offering locally sourced products, ensuring a minimal carbon footprint. Their own Tregirls Farm produce, along with an array of locally sourced meat, Cornish cheeses, ale and ciders are available. Visitors can also indulge in freshly made takeaway food such as sandwiches, sausage rolls, salads and cakes. Customers rave about the exceptional quality of the produce, including fresh vegetables and fruits brought in from the fields each morning.
We visited this small farm shop on our Cornwall road trip, and oh my goodness, why doesn't anyone talk about this place? Everything inside looks so good, and the people in the shop and deli are very kind and friendly. We have only just had a chance to try the bread and jam. So good. The best jam we have ever eaten. Can't believe we almost missed the deli shop. We have tried from there the steak pasty, apple sauce roll, and carrot cake! And oh my! I can't decide what was better! Just loved it all! Sausage roll amazing, tastes like no other. Pasty, the best in Cornwall...and we have tried lots on our Cornwall road trip. 🤭😅 And next the carrot cake...never ate something so tasty and full of flavor! Almost went there again for another food! 😆😱 Must visit if you are around! We are still talking about it weeks later. Such amazing food!!! #travelwithtentbox

We went to the shop today for the first time. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, also so nice to our Jack Russell dog Sam. The produce we bought was amazing. We’re leaving for home on Wednesday but will definitely visit next time we are in Cornwall 👍

Fantastic local produce, lovely deli, selection of wine and beer. Fresh meat and veg. Local cheese. Very nice staff. Did i say the pasty was amazing. Well it is. Stunning. Move over all the 'award winning' ones you pay a fortune for, these are the ones to beat.

Very freindly staff. Pasty was the best I've had, nice lunch plenty of local produce, our 20 month old enjoyed his picnic outside. Would recommend for lunch away from. The crowds of Padstow

Lovely selection of local produce. 'Padstow porkers' sausages were tasty but we were disappointed with the pork steaks but for us they were quite fatty and lacked flavour and shrunk a lot when cooked. Enjoyed some local Marmalade whilst away.
Karen E — Google review
Best shopping experience in Padstow! Super friendly, jovial and helpful staff, stunning produce, mostly from the farm and local, and I might go as far to say the best pasties I’ve ever eaten, perfectly seasoned and packed full, delicious, and, coming from a family with a tradition of pasty making that is high praise indeed! “Come on!” Pete.

Martin, The butcher was very accommodating. The lamb and beef we bought were of superb quality and the pasties from the deli, just amazing. A farm shop that is still, a farm-shop, and not a "farm themed" shop.

Prawn on the Lawn is a unique fine dining spot located above Carbis Bay beach, offering ingenious plates made with ingredients sourced from local growers, farmers, and fishermen in Cornwall. The glass-walled dining room adorned with dried flowers provides a picturesque setting for enjoying dishes like hogget with Jersey Royals and Cornish brill with mussels. The restaurant's commitment to zero food waste is evident in its use of every part of animals and vegetables.
Well worth a visit!! We selected 5/6 dishes. The highlight was the Mackerel, closely followed by the Tuna. Although to be fair we didn’t have a bad dish out of all the ones we tried. Will definitely be back and also going to visit the one in Islington. Nice hand-wash in the toilet too.

One of the best seafood dinners I’ve had! And that’s after years in Southeast Alaska. The small plates were perfect for sharing amongst us three: The sole, mackerel, and monkfish were PERFECT. The chefs really understood the textural and flavor balances of the Asian, Italian and local ingredients. The staff were great: attentive and gracious. Well done!

We had the most amazing food at POTL. Made completely by the wonderful team who were complete professionals and made the atmosphere wonderful. We were on our honeymoon and the team went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time. The food was very special, some of the best fish we've ever had. A big thank you!
Elizabeth B — Google review
Came here for a late lunch as a change from Stein and there were a lot of people here mid afternoon. It’s more of a tapas like place. There was a decent choice of quite expensive dishes. We chose one of the cheapest white wines which was still £37 a bottle then 3 dishes plus some broccoli. It took quite a bit of time for any food to appear and then came out at various times, some much longer than others. The quality and taste of the food was excellent, but there wasn’t much of it. The service was good and it had a nice ambience and feel to the place. Overall good but also expensive at >£90 for two for 4 small dishes and wine.
Mark D — Google review
Every time we visit Cornwall, we make sure to book a table at this restaurant – it’s an absolute must for us. All the staff, including Rob, are exceptionally well trained and just naturally deliver fantastic customer service every single time. I honestly can’t think of anything that would make the experience better – it’s consistently excellent. The lemon sole last night was absolutely fantastic, and finishing off with four oysters for dessert was perfect. Thanks again, guys – keep up the great work, and we’ll see you soon!

Faultless experience yesterday. Very busy, but great atmosphere and excellent staff. Really nice to see many of the staff have been there for years. It’s dog friendly and the owners all keep their dogs out of the way and quiet. Best place in Padstow for sure.

Campground
Dennis Cove Campsite is a top choice for families looking for an affordable camping experience in Padstow. Situated right on the Camel Trail, it offers stunning views of the Camel Estuary and easy access to beautiful beaches just a short walk away. The campsite is well-maintained with spacious pitches and clean facilities including showers and toilets. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always ready to assist, making the stay even more enjoyable.
Me, my wife and our friends stayed here for one night whilst on a trip around Cornwall. The location was perfect for us to explore Padstow, with it only being a 10 minute walk from the site. Check in was really easy and staff very friendly. Facilities were some of the best we've seen with toilets/showers being very clean and easy to access. Lovely little trailer selling fresh coffee and breakfast in the morning. Will definitely be returning!
James M — Google review
Great campsite! Good-sized pitch, friendly staff, and only a 10-minute walk into Padstow with lovely sea views. Facilities were clean and well-maintained. The showers operated with a simple press-button system, providing 5 minutes of hot water — easy to use and always warm.
Bradley S — Google review
My partner and I recently spent four nights camping at Dennis Cove campsite and we were very impressed with everything. Really friendly check in and the site was easy to navigate. Our pitch was a great size and nice and flat. We had an electric hook up pitch which gave lovely views towards the bay. We were very impressed with the thought and effort put into these pitches. They have been levelled out in a way that means they all give nice views towards the bay. The site facilities were excellent and plentiful! Toilet block was modern, spacious and VERY clean. Showers seemed a tiny bit more dated, but still perfectly spacious, clean and the water was immediately hot with great pressure. We didn't have to wait or queue to use the loos or showers once during our stay! There were visiting food/drinks vans on evenings too which made for a couple of easy, and yummy, dinners! Thank you for a lovely stay. We will definitely be back should we find ourselves heading for Padstow again.

We were really impressed with Dennis Cove campsite. The location is beautiful. We have a campervan but no levelling blocks, so were kindly given a pitch in the top field that was flat. It was superb, the view is stunning, and the sunrise at 5am was a spectacle. Very impressed with all communication from the owners who were extremely helpful in answering all my questions. Would highly recommend. Easy walk into Padstow, and bike rides on the Camel trail

This campsite is amazing! Made even more so by Jo & Warren who gave 5 star customer service and were so kind and caring! I was a few days into a massive walk and they took time to chat to me and help me with everything! The facilities are absolutely spotless, great location being just a short walk into Padstow. It’s peaceful and the views from the top field over the water are breathtaking. Thank you Jo & Warren, I hope our paths cross again one day! Jo x
Nessielass — Google review
We had a really great stay – the site facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the overall experience was fantastic. The only thing I’d recommend is adding some facilities a bit closer to the pitches at the top of the hill, where most of the scenic ones are located. It’s quite a walk to the main facilities unless you specifically request a pitch nearer to them, which usually means sacrificing the view. Even a small toilet block or a couple of portaloos at the top would make a big difference. That said, we’d definitely return – and look forward to seeing if any changes are made in the future!
Chris W — Google review
Dennis Cove is a perfect campsite. The grounds are well kept and the facilities are excellent. Harry and his team are welcoming and can’t do enough for you. The location is great - a short stroll along the camel trail into Padstow and the view over the estuary is amazing. We had a problem with our campervan leisure battery and Harry was out of bed at 1am trying to find us a tent and then straight over the next morning to help sort the problem. Thanks so much for everything and for a great trip. We’ll definitely be back!
Pianoman1982 — Google review
One of the best Cornwall campsites for tents and caravans. £42 for one night two people in a tent. The facilities are ace and there’s two sites to choose from, one near the reception and toilets etc and the second right next to the coast but a five minute walk to toilets etc. Everything’s been thought of regards to the pitches, a block is provided for barbecues and the sites clearly marked out. The price is what kept me back for a five star, I didn’t sleep great due to the neighbour’s but the site was otherwise quiet and family friendly. I had a great time and would love to return, staff and facility’s are exceptional so don’t be put off.

Visited with a friend on 04/03 and had a great experience (as always!). It was my friends’ first visit, so we both opted for the wine tasting flights. These are so well priced and a real luxury experience! We enjoyed picking out our wines and getting to try a range of different ones. We also ended up trying two 1/3 of some draught options we had not tried before, which were both brilliant. The gentlemen who served us (unfortunately didn’t catch his name!) was amazing. He was so attentive, and had a great sense of humour which was lovely. We also had a cheese board between us, which was full of lovely cheeses, bread and crackers, again at a great price. We ended up staying for nearly 3 hours as it has such a lovely atmosphere, and we will definitely both be back again. This place is a real gem in Padstow, with both great drinking and eating options, lovely staff, and of course a good few options for purchasing!

What an amazing place. We called in for drinks before dinner and it was brilliant. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and the beer was amazing, all in beautiful surroundings. If you’re in Padstow you must visit.

Excellent lunch here today. The crab platter was absolutely awesome, packed with crab and the takeaway crab sandwich was bursting with crab filling, no scrimping! A great lunch in a lovely setting. The service was superb too, along with the cleanliness. The beers & ciders a real treat. Very highly recommended

Had a wonderful evening here with delicious beers and fabulous food. Our server, Lizzie, was really welcoming and was a great help in ensuring that we chose beers that we would like for our flight. Between us we chose 6 different beers so we could taste as much as possible. They were all great, I settled on Pocket Rocket to have as a pint afterwards. There are no meals to order per se, this is very much a sharing platter place which works well with the beers. Saying that, we both ordered a platter each and eat the lot 😆 I had the Ploughman’s which was delicious my partner had the cheese platter. We could not fault the ambience, service, quality of beer and food. We will definitely return.

Loved this place! What an absolute treat. Spent most evenings in here with a wine-flight and cheeseboard! The wine selection was superb and the wine-flights allows you to savour across the board. The cheese - local suppliers and so tasty. Just the perfect space; light, airy and tastefully decorated. A nice change away from the dark and small packed bars/pubs that most of Padstow has to offer. Relaxed atmosphere and a great grazing menu. Highly recommend and the staff were always so friendly and they have a lovely gift shop of their products available in the bar too.

Craftworks Secret Garden in Cornwall is a must-visit spot with an excellent atmosphere and delicious food. The outdoor dining experience, complete with a teepee for shelter, adds to the charm. Visitors rave about the incredible flavors of dishes like pulled pork and Korean chicken burger. The friendly staff and dog-friendly environment make it a top choice for both locals and tourists alike.
Just had a couple of drinks before it got busy. The sun was still strong, lovely setting, great friendly service and Fleetwood Mac in the background. People are starting to arrive. Lovely venue.

Incredible food! Fantastic service and a really lovely chilled atmosphere! I highly recommend this place, even if you're not in the holiday park. 10/10 thank you so much!😊

Loved this place! Friendly service, food came very quickly, great portion, tasted fresh and was delicious! We had the pork salad and dirty fries. Really cool vibe with the yurts and lights too. Definitely keen to come back

We live nearby and have been meaning to try The Secret Garden. It's my husbands birthday and we wanted outdoorsy and close to home. The bonus for me, a Louisiana girl raised on the border of Texas, was the Tex-Mex offerings on the menu. I went with the carnitas tacos. Oh my... they were so perfect! The best I've had in the U.K.! Seriously, I could taste every flavour explosion. Perfection...chefs kiss. The fries are fantastic. Our daughter had the hot dog and fries and the birthday boy had the , what he described as gorgeous, Korean Chicken burger and sweet potato wedges. The rose was lovely and crisp, my daughter loved her vanilla and oreo shake and of course you can't go wrong with a Cornish Rattler. It was a summer Monday evening. It wasn't crowded but enough patrons and their lovely doggos to make it comfy and gave out a great ambience. The music was the right volume. The staff were on point. Courteous, service with a smile and checked on us enough and not too much. We will definitely be back as I am now on a mission to try the burritos and other tacos. Well done to The Secret Garden...keep up the good work and brilliant food offerings.

The best meal out we’ve had in a long time!! The food was so tasty and we didn’t wait long at all for it to arrive. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and stunning cocktails. Highly recommend and we’ll be back 😍

**Craftworks Kitchen in Padstow** is a hidden gem that delivers a knockout dining experience across the board. Nestled in the scenic Padstow Holiday Village, this alfresco haven blends laid-back charm with culinary flair. The atmosphere has a festival feel — think fairy lights, tipis, and converted shipping containers that house a buzzing bar and kitchen. Absolutely stellar food. Their gourmet burgers are juicy and packed with flavour, while the fish tacos are so good they might just convert lifelong burger fans. Burritos, loaded fries, and vegan options round out a menu that’s bold, fresh, and satisfying. Every dish feels crafted with care, and the cocktails are just as impressive — perfect for sipping as the sun sets. Service is warm and attentive, with staff who genuinely care about your experience. Even on busy nights, they manage to keep things flowing with a smile. And for all this quality, the prices are refreshingly reasonable — making Craftworks a standout for value in Padstow’s dining scene. Five stars across the board: food, atmosphere, service, and value. Whether you're camping nearby or just passing through, this is one spot you’ll want to revisit.

We had just 3 nights stay on site and the last night decided to eat at Craftworks. So glad we did as, not only is it super convenient, but the food, music, and general ambience is great. The staff were really friendly. We had vegan burgers, dirty fries and house coleslaw. All very tasty and reasonably priced for the area. Will definitely eat here again when we're next in the area. Can absolutely recommend.

Prawn on the Farm

Restaurant
Prawn on the Farm is a popular dining spot that opened in 2015 and is known for its excellent shellfish platters featuring Cornish lobster and crab. The menu constantly changes based on fresh produce deliveries, ensuring extremely fresh and flavorful ingredients in every dish. The staff are described as young, enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgeable.
We had such a nice meal here on the farm. The tent was done up beautifully with a stunning view of the hills. The food were fresh and nicely cooked. We opted for the tapas-style small dishes to share. The scallops were one of the best I've had - I love their perfect tenderness and the Thai basil seasoning. Prawn on the lawn was very refreshing - a fantastic dish to start the meal with. The monkfish bites were tasty but I'd prefer a grilled version of this meaty fish. It's unfortunate that we didn't come with more people to share the 1kg monkfish (for the table). Their fish for the table was fixed portions, depending on the size of the fish they get on the day. The waiter recommended their fried crushed potatoes which you cannot go without trying. It was the crunchiest and well seasoned potatoes I've ever had - a must-try dish. I also love their grilled grey Mullet with hispi cabbage. The skin was crispy and meat tender. Definitely try their locally sourced beer/ale or cider. They're refreshing and go well with the food. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and informative. They provided good recommendations and were very helpful with our orders. The dining atmosphere was simply amazing. Tables were nicely spaced out and clean, with hand sanitizers on each table - very good Covid secure settings. Another plus point is their extremely clean portable toilets. I've never been to a cabin toilet more well maintained and comfortable than these. Overall, the whole dining experience was impeccable. We couldn't have asked for a better restaurant to dine at. We'll definitely come back next time we're in Padstow!

Wow ! I can’t remember the last time , if ever, I left a 5 star review but this place thoroughly deserves it . The staff are young , enthusiastic and very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely outstanding , we had a few sharing platters and a main meal and it’s possibly the best food I have ever tasted . The menu was constantly changing as we dined when fresh produce was delivered . The ingredients for every dish were extremely fresh and packed full of flavour . Book a table if you can get in YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. 🤤

A delightful experience. The setting is beautiful, as is the food. Service was a little slow, but it was actually probably better that way as we had more time to enjoy the relaxing environment. If you've got plenty of time to relax, eat and drink, then this place is perfect.

Been looking forward to eating here for a while and was offered a Saturday afternoon bar table following their decision to close Sundays...which was a nice touch. Thank you. Tapas-style seafood although you can order fish for your table; lobster, bass, monkfish blah blah. Oh do try the tempura courgette flowers & crab (one per person), hake (also one per person), crushed spiced potatoes & cavolo nero to share; all absolutely delicious. Not so keen on the sardines or Thai scallops (more chilli pls). Finished with mini-pavlova & a chocolate tart which was a delight. Waiting staff were all excellent. Portaloos were a necessary low; I would happily have gone in a field seeing as we're on a farm. They were clean though. Soak up the vibe; het up campers & caravaners from The Midlands, Vejas, cagoules & macs, posh creatives, bald men wearing Vans. £100 lunch for 2 with a couple of Thunderclouds + 12% service charge.

One of my favourite and best dining experiences not only in Cornwall but quite easily the UK. The staff really made the dining experience 5*, really attentive, friendly and know the menu really well. The food is some of the best seafood I've had - we will be back to try everything on the menu!! Thank you to the staff for a really great experience and meal :)

Would have given 10 stars.. Came for a lunch today, had never been before just heard good things, and wow did it live up to the name! The setting was just beatuful and serene, really chilled vibe inside the marquee looking out onto the farm. We ordered the whole lobster, two portions of the sourdough and seaweed butter as it was so bloody tasty, scallops, prawn on the lawn, crushed potatoes (omg the crispyness) and some padron peppers. Every single thing just tasted delicious, we were licking our lips and savouring the flavours long after we left. Service was polite and friendly, didn't have to wait long for food. Just nothing I could moan about which is rare, easily our nicest meal whilst staying in Cornwall. All the above plus 2 drinks came to just over a £100 which we thought was very reasonable. Highly recommended.

The food was delicious, though much smaller portions than you would expect. Table service was good, though we were told our table was needed for 7.30 for next diners, we had booked a table also? Did feel under pressure to eat up and finish. As a person with mobility issues, I use a walking rollator, the toilets were up the steps in outside portacabins. There were no handrails and the drive to them was over large loose rock and gravel. Not at all suitable for disabled people. On the whole, would I go again? Probably not. Food good but very expensive, worked out about £50 a head..... (2 main small plates, 1 very small side dish , a small desert and a couple of drinks.) Facilities for disabled/ mobility issues people, non existent really.

These guys are amazing, we came here in august and loved it and wanted to come back. The are such lovely people and really great food. They also look after the little ones. Although there is a lot going on so take some toys for them to ply with at the table. Enjoy the food....

Rick Stein's Café is a contemporary seafood cafe located in Padstow, just minutes away from the Camel Estuary and harbor. The cafe not only offers incredible food but also provides elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi and a posh cooked breakfast. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, making it a wonderful base for exploring Padstow and the surrounding areas, suitable for the whole family including pets.
Booked a table yesterday for lunch today. We both chose the 3 courses for £34. My wife had the cauliflower, fish and chips and rice pudding. I had the chicken salad, hake curry and cheesecake. All 6 dishes were superb; extremely tasty and well presented. I have to say extremely good value as well as the portion sizes are decent. Service was excellent. Just a shame about the brat child behind us but you can’t have everything. Would definitely come back.

Nice food but for the price I was expecting something amazing especially when it’s owned by famous chef Rick Stein. I had the fish curry and it was good but nothing special. I came here 2 years ago, I had the same curry and remember it as the best fish curry I’ve ever had. I know food will taste different depending on the chef and produce, I just hope it’s not a slip in standard. The sticky toffee pudding was good, would recommend. The steak was apparently something to die for, Nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked to the persons request. They were very good with allergies, explaining to us how they could change dishes to suit our dietary needs. Make sure to check the ‘chefs favorites’ board to see specials. Nice but slightly disappointing when it’s shown to be something fabulous.

Booked an early sitting, so just three other tables occupied on arrival. Ordered drinks, one was incorrect, but no matter, it was acceptable. Starters were good, but one of the mains was completely wrong, so returned it. Waited an age for the dessert and had to ask twice for the bill, which didn’t arrive so had to go to the reception to request it a third time. We didn’t complain about the service initially, as we accept that mistakes happen. However, the bill included a 12.5% automatic service charge. At this point, we requested this be removed. We do not understand why they believe this is acceptable practice. We subsequently received a “satisfaction survey” via email. I answered this honestly, to include all of the above detail. To-date, I have received no acknowledgment or any other feedback. Considering this is a high-profile franchise, the attention to ensure customer satisfaction is extremely disappointing, especially as this could (snd should) have been a really good dining experience.

Rick Stein’s Café is a must when visiting Padstow! Everything was perfect, from the service to the food. Came out piping hot and was so flavourful. Our party shared the prawns, scallops and the cauliflower bites, I had the miso salmon for main and the cheesecake for desert. Couldn’t fault a thing at all. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and the restaurant its self is super clean and beautifully decorated.

Didn't stay here just visited the courtyard area for lunch. Lovely little spot for lunch, however if you're a veggie ask for the coleslaw without fish sauce and the veggie bao buns without fish sauce too as its in both. Courtyard was cute and allowed dogs, staff were amazing. Had an OK time for lunch but I think the other harbour side restaurants would be a better choice. The non-veggie food looked great!

Amazing Gluten Free fish supper here yesterday. No queue, friendly and informative service and quick. The massive fish had such a light bubbly batter and chips were perfectly fluffy on inside and a light crisp outside, even had GF vinegar. Made a coeliac girl very happy 😆

Booked Cafe for one night 27th Sept (The Courtyard) room very tastefully decorated, spacious room, excellent facilties, lovely handwritten card welcoming us to the Cafe a nice personal touch. Whilst preparing to attend Seafood restaurant I lost my wedding ring down the bath waste, spoke to staff who directly contacted maintenance whilst directing my wife and I to go for our meal, whilst sat in restaurant manager handed over my ring which was recovered from bath waste after having to remove full bath panel....naturally very relieved and couldn't thank staff enough for their help (Peter). Food and service in Seafood restaurant excellent recommend Indonesia curry. Cafe itself closes food service earlier therefore when we returned the premise for the night it was very quiet, extremely comfortable bed excellent night's sleep...thank all staff for a lovely memorable evening and stay

We went for the £34 set menu and the first two courses were ok I then ordered the special, warm chocolate brownie but the brownie was stone cold. I asked for it to be warm but it came back hot, I didn’t complain for a second time but felt the chef had clearly taken the original complaint badly, which is not at all professional!! When I received the bill it was more than expected…it seemed that although it said all puddings were included in the £34 deal the special warm brownie wasn’t but the young man who served us did not point this out even though I was torn between the posset and the brownie. All in all the meal at the St Tudy inn the night before was better with no issues. We’d read Rick Stein complaining about people not using his restaurants in the paper the day before but Mr Stein you must give good service and serve what you offer., look after customers.
