Located in Padstow, the National Lobster Hatchery is a conservation center that offers tours of its nursery and educational activities. Visitors also have the opportunity to adopt a hatchling. The hatchery plays a crucial role in preserving Cornwall's coastal heritage and supporting local communities through its lobster stock enhancement program. By visiting the hatchery, guests can learn about the importance of protecting lobster populations and contribute to this essential conservation work.
informative and enjoyable, loved seeing the babies. staff were very friendly and had loads of information to share with us about the mums with eggs. they have a cute little gift shop with magnets, toys etc etc. fair price. £8 for an adult and return all year, we are not from the area but visit a couple times a year so to be able to come next time for free is a winner!
Lauren P — Google review
If you're visiting on holiday the £24 family access is quite a lot for what's there. We were done in about 45 min including letting the kids colour and do the word searches etc upstairs. However you can visit as much as you like for 12m so it does offer good value in that respect. My kids enjoyed the activity area and watching the boats so you could return to kill an hour or so fairly often if you were local. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable and spent ages answering questions, plus the view from the first floor across the estuary is beautiful. You can see a lot of thought has been put into making it more of an attraction. If you can find a place with leaflets for days out, you'll likely find a voucher which definitely makes it better value for money.
Hayley T — Google review
We visited for the first time this half term. It’s rather small but really informative and educational and the volunteers are so passionate and we learnt a lot we didn’t know about lobsters 🦞, definitely recommend as it’s a little gem of a place to learn all about them! We will definitely visit again on our next trip to Cornwall, easily accessible from the parking directly opposite and then we went into padstow for ice cream after
Elizabeth R — Google review
Loved it, very informative, a little shorter than anticipated but not sure how it could be extended. Nice to see what they do, how they help lobsters and a history of how they've done it. I'd recommend it. Not too expensive. (Gutted the gift shop didn't have any pens- I like to collect pens from everywhere I visit)
Craig G — Google review
A surprisingly interesting place. A small but perfectly formed experience. We took the grandchildren and unexpectedly stayed for over two hours. It was fascinating to learn about lobsters and the important work of the Hatchery. Friendly and helpful staff. Great to see the lobsters, especially the baby ones. Informative film too.
Charlotte H — Google review
The hatchery is located in Padstow by the harbourside. It relys totally on funding from visitors to the centre and so I would encourage anyone to go and visit and support this brilliant project. The centre is small but there are lots of tanks with sea creatures to view, lots of very interrelated information about lobsters that I never knew about and upstairs you can watch a very clever film about lobsters and the young ones have an area where they can get active with colouring etc. I visited as part of my Lobster release course with Scuba Ry Divers and I will definitely return. Well worth a visit to support a worthy cause
Julie M — Google review
It's a nice place to look around but in my opinion it's a little pricey. Fair enough once you pay the first time you can go back for free for a year but I don't think that there is enough there for a return journey. It's a good place to bring the kids and they can learn all about lobsters and even see baby ones.
Maria W — Google review
Extremely interesting, fun and informative. So good that I had to go twice! Great for kids and adults alike, friendly staff and a little shop too.

Prideaux Place is a stunning 16th-century manor located in the picturesque hamlet of Prideaux. The house, built by Sir Nicholas Prideaux, showcases exquisite Elizabethan plasterwork and an extensive collection of fine art. Surrounded by lush grounds and a deer park, the manor offers guided tours that allow visitors to admire its period furnishings, crenellated ramparts, and panoramic views of Bodmin Moor.
Really enjoyed this visit, being escorted around by one of the family was a big bonus. What a charming , witty and knowledgeable lady. The only downside was the time of year we visited as the deer park with it's estuary views was closed due to the deer breeding.

Interesting place to visit. Lovely guided tour of the house. Beautiful gardens. And a lovely deer herd that you can help feed. (Dependant on the time when the keeper is feeding them)
Karen E — Google review
Great place to visit. The family has lived there since 1592. So much history and still a family home. We had a tour and fortunately for us there we were the only 2 people on it at that time, noon. The guide Hazel was fantastic and extremely informative, friendly, and funny. We were so lucky to have a personal tour. The cafe was lovely and the food was good and tasty. Staff were helpful and friendly. The fallow deer they have were being fed at the time and my good lady got the chance to hand feed one of them. Definitely recommend visiting.
Ian B — Google review
A lovely historic house and garden with a deer park. A family home with character going back centuries. The house tour is informative and the meals are well worth trying. I recommend people take time to visit.
Alan W — Google review
The garden here is a lovely unpretentious and restful place to walk, with well chosen planting, as well as delightfully leafy woodland, with old trees, plenty of birdsong, and - in mid June - the lovely woodland smell of wild garlic. The paths are fairly easy for less able visitors, with plenty of places to stop and sit in shade or sun. Welcome peace and relief for those who don't wish to spend all of every day at the wonderful local beaches.
Karen S — Google review
We did a house tour and it was fabulous. Carol our guide made it really interesting, and each of the rooms we saw was a ‘wow’ in a different way. Beautiful house with loads of history.
Louise R — Google review
I was staying in Padstow and Prideaux Place was literally a ten minute walk away. It was a guided tour by a lovely member of the family who gave us a very interesting and informative tour around some of the main rooms. The history was fascinating and the hour went very quickly. The gardens, outbuildings and grounds are free for you to wander around at your own leisure. I did so after a delicious lunch sitting on the terrace in front of the house in glorious sunshine. To summarise I considered it well worth the entry fee and one not to be missed if staying in the Padstow area.

Absolutely stunning house. History is etched into every wall and room. Thoroughly eenjoyed the tour by knowledgeble staff. Beautiful surroundings and gardens and of course the amazing deer park. Well worth a visit.

Padstow Harbour is a charming coastal destination that offers a delightful blend of maritime history, culinary delights, and scenic beauty. The harbor is bustling with both working fishing boats and pleasure craft, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along the cobbled streets, admiring the colorful boats and soaking in the timeless charm of the area.
Had to visit on our current holiday to Cornwall. Been a few years since last visit. Came in the late afternoon, so late lunch so found a pastie shop bought a few bits and the family had a small picnic along the harbour wall. Scenery was amazing fantastic sunny day . Even got a little pub stop done before heading off .can't wait to come back and try new shops and eateries.

Lovely setting, quaint hidden gem. Nice views and great smells of restaurant food on the street. Nice walk around the town and good place to relax. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants close to the harbour, good place to hire a boat for some sightseeing

I visited at the good old Mayday event “obby Oss” is the horse you can see in some of the photos. Celebrating the start of summer a long tradition where you have the “reds” the old & the “blues” new age dancing around the streets celebrating the start of summer.

Nice litte harbour, I must say that it was smaller than I expected, look like good for family with kids as I could see kids were very happy catching crabs around the Habour. We had fish and chips and it was nice

Specialty Museums
Padstow Museum, established in 1971 by a group of passionate locals, offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of Padstow and its port. The museum houses an array of artifacts and documents that shed light on the area's rich maritime history and its reliance on tin mining. Run by dedicated volunteers, this small yet charming museum is conveniently located near the harbor and provides an enriching experience for visitors interested in delving into Padstow's past.
Superb museum not big but crammed with fascinating local history including information about the Cist graves on Harlyn Bay Thanks to ALL who volunteer
Chris T — Google review
Information outside said that the museum would be open 10 to 4 on Good Friday so we went to the Lobster Hatchery and then came back at one o'clock to find it was closing. No external information about early closing had been displayed to my recollection. I appreciate the it is run by volunteers but that doesn't mean it can be amateurish.

Friendly staff and nice little place. It’s a very small museum about the size of 2 small rooms, good history, and won’t take long to visit. Very close to the car park and worth a visit.

Wow what a lovely find whilst wondering around behind Mr Stein’s deli. A charming place full of local history, well laid out and some great audio visuals to watch. Staff were charming and informative. 😊

Very friendly volunteers at the desk. Who were happy to part with their own knowledge. It was great seeing Padstow history in pictures, videos and artifacts. My 10y old loved it

Culinary school
Rick Stein, a renowned chef, opened his flagship restaurant in Padstow in 1975. Overlooking the Camel estuary, the stylish waterside venue offers modern fish and seafood menus. The restaurant boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and a zinc-topped seafood bar, serving top-quality fresh seafood simply cooked. Additionally, Rick Stein's establishment is known for its international reputation for serving the freshest fish and shellfish.
I was not disappointed after waiting a long time to eat here. Living in Australia means I dont get to Cornwall often. Beautiful setting and nice atmosphere friendly, professional staff and wonderful food. Not a huge menu, but delicious and beautifully presented. Lots of tables and not too close, busy but not full on the night i was there. Their take on a Pina Colada was both surprising and delicious.
Karen E — Google review
Nice location for a restaurant. Enjoyed my meal. Wonderful staff. Couldn't be friendlier or more eager to help us. The menu didn't wow me...nothing on it that I hadn't had elsewhere BUT what I did choose was cooked beautifully. The dishes took their time coming out which is always a good sign. All being freshly prepared. I would happily return .
Jane M — Google review
This had been a bucket list location and I was not let down. We stayed two nights eating in the restaurant and met all my expectations and more.Well worth the expense. Service was exceptional and glad to see the service charge was all given to the staff. It is a fish restaurant and the quality of the food was fantastic.Loved every minute of my stay. Stayed in estuary view room which allowed us to have a free parking space as free parking is limited. The breakfast in the morning was the best breakfast i have ever had at any hotel stay

Wow, what an experience that was totally enhanced by the charming Alex who coached a very novice sea food eater. Having never tried oysters, muscles, or crevettes, Alex walked me and my partner through the entire process of enjoying these wonderful, locally caught seafood. My personal thanks go to Alex for making my first taste of these delicacies a memorable one for all the right reasons.
Chris H — Google review
Rick - your chefs are fantastic and we were grateful to being chefs for the day. Well we all are everyday, but the cooking school was fantastic and enhancing. Thank you. Tonight we've enjoyed fish and shell fish soup back in Carbis Bay with a French boule, so we've been truly been spoilt.
Alastair S — Google review
We absolutely loved our takeaway fried fish, but considering how expensive everything was, we were overall a little underwhelmed. The whelks didn't taste fresh (dried edges and incredibly chewy), and the chips were very soggy and bland. We're glad we went for the experience, but wouldn't hurry back.
Carla M — Google review
Visited Rick Stein's in Padstow for the first time over the summer. The lobster thermidor was an absolute standout - rich, creamy, and decadent. Though it sounds like a cliché, you can definitely taste the difference in quality with the produce being locally caught. The tempura soft shell crabs to start were a delight too - perfectly crispy and goes very well with the soy dipping sauce. My only criticism would be the price, a little expensive for what you get, but with excellent service and ambience, Rick Stein's is a great place for a special meal in Padstow.
Joseph C — Google review
Had a great day cooking along with such brilliant experienced chefs. We picked up really interesting and helpful tips. Loved the food we made and we’ll definitely be remaking the recipes at home! Really enjoyed it, thanks again for a great day Nick and Aaron. Such a memorable experience.

Prawn on the Lawn is a unique fine dining spot located above Carbis Bay beach, offering ingenious plates made with ingredients sourced from local growers, farmers, and fishermen in Cornwall. The glass-walled dining room adorned with dried flowers provides a picturesque setting for enjoying dishes like hogget with Jersey Royals and Cornish brill with mussels. The restaurant's commitment to zero food waste is evident in its use of every part of animals and vegetables.
One of the best seafood dinners I’ve had! And that’s after years in Southeast Alaska. The small plates were perfect for sharing amongst us three: The sole, mackerel, and monkfish were PERFECT. The chefs really understood the textural and flavor balances of the Asian, Italian and local ingredients. The staff were great: attentive and gracious. Well done!

We had the most amazing food at POTL. Made completely by the wonderful team who were complete professionals and made the atmosphere wonderful. We were on our honeymoon and the team went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time. The food was very special, some of the best fish we've ever had. A big thank you!
Elizabeth B — Google review
What a gorgeous fish restaurant! Small inside so booking required. We had a fantastic food experience! The tuna was a Taste experience as were all the dishes. Well cooked food with delicious flavours. Was my favourite place to dine whilst on holiday, definitely recommend.
Sarah B — Google review
Every time we visit Cornwall, we make sure to book a table at this restaurant – it’s an absolute must for us. All the staff, including Rob, are exceptionally well trained and just naturally deliver fantastic customer service every single time. I honestly can’t think of anything that would make the experience better – it’s consistently excellent. The lemon sole last night was absolutely fantastic, and finishing off with four oysters for dessert was perfect. Thanks again, guys – keep up the great work, and we’ll see you soon!

Faultless experience yesterday. Very busy, but great atmosphere and excellent staff. Really nice to see many of the staff have been there for years. It’s dog friendly and the owners all keep their dogs out of the way and quiet. Best place in Padstow for sure.

Great little place, attentive service and great concept of small plates, gives you a chance to try lots of sea food.my partner is veggie and what the chef came up with was amazing with local fresh veg of the day. Loved it. Cocktails are ace too as was pairi G of wine with dishes. Book now!

Incredible food, service… everything. Highly recommend anyone to go and try potl, they are also dog friendly which makes it so much better. The seared tuna was our favourite, just incredible.
Hamish M — Google review
Came here for a late lunch as a change from Stein and there were a lot of people here mid afternoon. It’s more of a tapas like place. There was a decent choice of quite expensive dishes. We chose one of the cheapest white wines which was still £37 a bottle then 3 dishes plus some broccoli. It took quite a bit of time for any food to appear and then came out at various times, some much longer than others. The quality and taste of the food was excellent, but there wasn’t much of it. The service was good and it had a nice ambience and feel to the place. Overall good but also expensive at >£90 for two for 4 small dishes and wine.

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with Padstow Sealife Safaris, where experienced local skippers lead a variety of boat tours along the rugged North Cornwall coastline. From a two-hour safari covering 25 miles of coastline to a one-hour seal-watching trip, and even bespoke charter trips, there's something for everyone. Keep an eye out for porpoises and dolphins as you explore the stunning Camel Estuary.
Would definitely recommend the 2 hour wildlife tour. They provide all the kit, including waterproofs and the team were so knowledgeable and great at finding and pointing out all the wildlife. We were lucky enough to see dolphins, jellyfish, seals and puffins. Amazing value for money!
Jennie W — Google review
Wow, such a scenic view, enjoyed the sight of dolphins…I am glad I went there. A choice I can’t regret. It is safe, the sits are quite safe and the boat is so powerful and there is where to grab if you want to feel safer. they gave outfits to put on to protect from the splash of saltwater. The guide is knowledgeable and she was there to answer any questions. I highly recommend
Isabelle M — Google review
Well what can I say! Utterly magical! I was somewhat nervous about how fast or bouncy the journey would be at sea, but I need not have worried, it was brilliant and exciting and the guides forewarned you when they were about to pick up speed. Always attentively checking that everyone felt OK, I really felt safe with them. Holly I think our guide was called, was so warm and informative, a lovely mix that she got just right. We saw a lone seal, jelly fish, Cormorants, Gannets and the stars of the show Dolphins. 2 hours of excitement, stunning coastline views, sea views and sealife. Highly recommend. 👌
Michelle M — Google review
Loved the experience, though we didn’t get to see any Sealife it was still enjoyable especially if your someone who enjoys the water and the wind in your face. The guide gave us in depth knowledge of seals and history of the areas we stopped at.
Hawra M — Google review
5⭐️ The trip was exhilarating as we sped out to sea! On our 2-hour trip, we saw a couple of seals basking on 'The Mouls', and then about four miles off the coast, north of Port Isaac, we were thrilled to spot a small pod of dolphins, including one with its young calf. If you've ever looked at one of these holiday experiences and thought it might not be worth the cost, I urge you to reconsider. This was an absolutely excellent trip, even in September!
Mike B — Google review
Despite a choppy overcast day. We saw a seal, baby short nosed dolphins and best of all, Puffins. The skipper was brilliant as was our guide, who's name I didn't get, but had orange hair. Was brilliantly informative. It was a wonderful morning.

Bakery
Takeout Restaurant
When in Padstow, Cornwall, a visit to The Chough Bakery is a must for anyone craving traditional Cornish pasties. This family-run bakery has been serving up award-winning pasties for 40 years, with flavors like cheese and leek, steak and blue cheese, and lamb and mint. Their secret ingredient of clotted cream gives their pasties an extra touch of Cornish authenticity.
Great position on the quayside. Very busy at peak season but you get served very quickly by the polite staff. Good choice of pasties, very tasty. One of the best in Cornwall. Very good seasoning and the meat is nice and moist. Found the pastry a little dry, non the less, still great pasties.
Paul L — Google review
The scones used to be large and distinct. We got some every year. Where have they gone? Very small now taste like Tesco's at twice the price. The pasties no longer lead the field so we shop elsewhere
John C — Google review
Pasties were once lovely from here so I was excited to be in Padstow. What a disappointment. 4 pasties, over £22 and served COLD! Who wants a cold pasty! When asked, they did warm them up but they were very dry and not enjoyable at all. So disappointing and we will never be back.
Joanne P — Google review
Have been a regular visitor to the Chough Bakery over the years and was excited to drop by again on a recent visit to Padstow. This time, I have to say I was really disappointed by their service. I asked about gluten free options on their cakes and their staff couldn’t confirm what allergens their cakes had. What was worse was the general disinterested attitude of the staff. Not good - especially as there is a sign above the counter requesting that you ask any questions about dietary allergies and intolerances. In the end I left without making a purchase.
Jonathan L — Google review
Great location and really friendly service. They even slipped my brother a new pastie after he lost his to a thieving seagull! Unfortunately the pasties were given to us cold, although they did heat them up when we asked. I imagine they’d be delicious when served fresh!
Francesca B — Google review
Disappointing pasties and teacakes. Both were bland in flavour and the pastry on the pasties was dry. Considering that Cornish pasties are a local specialty a bakery should be able to produce ones of good quality.
G R — Google review
Generic catering style pasty not the same as they were here in the past. And also £4.95 for a medium steak.

St George’s Cove is a hidden gem located just a short walk from Padstow, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling town. The beach features golden sands and calm waters, making it perfect for swimming and paddling, especially for families with young children. While there are no amenities on the beach, visitors can take a leisurely stroll to Padstow waterfront where they can find an array of dining options and charming shops.
Beautiful bay. But remote, no facilities. You need to be reasonably able to get down onto it, too. Either deep steps or a scramble over lower rocks depending on your entrance down off of the coast path. 2 mile round trip from Padstow. Steep gradients at times. Rough under foot at times, too.

It’s nice. Not easy to get down to for the less abled. Also strong tidal currents and warnings about the sand so not ideal if you are letting children roam or lack confidence in the outdoors. The beach is on a river so not a classic the only real waves are from boats. Good for a dip or walk and great views all around this area.

beautiful! the views across the estuary and out to sea are stunning, and although there are patches of very soft sand, we found it relatively easy going under foot. not ideal on a windy day!

The Cornish coastline is beautiful. We are blessed to have such stunning beaches here in England. Very clean. Plenty of bins around and about. Lovely.

Beautiful beautiful area, definitely worth a visit for a walk with your dogs or even alone for a stroll. I would highly reccomend visiting this place on a trip to Padstow with friends and family, probably just in good weather tho!!

A great cove to while away the afternoon sun, a short walk from Padstow. Up past the war memorial and along a bit. When the tide is out can walk for miles and when the tide is in you're restricted to the cove itself. Lovely sand and is protected from all winds bar northerly.

Such a beautiful sandy beach with lovely views across the Camel river, it's a nice walk from Padstow harbor. The beach says no dogs allowed but we saw lots there

Boat tour agency
The Jubilee Queen is a renowned boat tour agency in Padstow, offering visitors an opportunity to observe fascinating marine creatures up close. With over 40 years of experience, this iconic white, red, and blue sightseeing boat navigates the Camel Estuary and Cornish coastline. On their guided tours, guests can learn about local history while keeping a lookout for gray and common seals, basking sharks, and bottlenose dolphins.
Lovely trip out.. Although it was choppy, the weather wasn't bad, and our 4 year old daughter absolutely loved it! If you suffer from sea sickness, I'd be mindful that this might not be the trip for you. We were lucky enough to see some seals 🦭 🙏🏻 and the captains talk was very informative! We had to exit the boat at the lower beach due to the tide being low on our return, so I would also be mindful of that if you have mobility issues or pushchair, etc. All in all, I would recommend 👌🏻
Katie M — Google review
We did a boat trip on the Jubilee Queen yesterday and it really exceeded our expectations! It really was excellent value for money! We booked the trip as it was my mums 60th birthday and we were so pleased we did, because it really was the perfect experience! The staff were very friendly and the captain was very knowledgeable of the Cornish coast. What really made the trip extra special was seeing the dolphins, a huge whale, and the puffins! The whole trip was 2 hours long (Cornish time) not sure if we had longer time as it was the last trip of the day, or if was just because we were lucky enough to see the dolphins which took the extra time! Either way, it was spectacular and we couldn’t have been more grateful. Would definitely recommend this trip we were a family ranged from 3 - 60 years of age, and the trip was enjoyable for all, thank you!

A nice 2ish hour sea trip from Padstow around the coast, nice clean boat with inside and out seating plus plenty of safe areas to enjoy the sights. There is a bar and food available. The crew were very helpful and there was a very informative talk provided pointing out the history and interesing points

Although rough we enjoyed the trip out of the river camel and views along the north coast. Helpful and friendly when booking and a great crew onboard. Looking forward to booking again. Hopefully seas won't be as rough next time 🤞

Amazing tour today, thoroughly enjoyed it. Family of four with little pouch. This was a last minute plan, we went to the sales lady just 5 mins before the boat was due to leave. The kind lady got the skipper to wait for us which was much appreciated. 1.5 hours, amazing views, very knowledgeable skipper giving us lots of information about the local area. We were lucky enough to see some seals which was amazing! Very reasonably priced. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again or recommend to family and friends. Thank you! 🤩

Fish and chips takeaway
Stein's Fish & Chips, located in the heart of Padstow, is a must-visit for seafood lovers. Renowned chef Rick Stein has brought his culinary expertise to this humble dish, ensuring that the fish is fried in beef dripping and accompanied by freshly-cut chips. The menu features a variety of fresh fish and shellfish, including cod, haddock, hake, bream, and lemon sole sourced from local waters.
The haddock and chips were delicious – pure white fish and not greasy at all. The chips were also very nice. I tried my friend’s cod, which was good too. The friendly staff and clean, modern decor made for a pleasant dining experience.
Dean L — Google review
We enjoyed our visit to Stein’s Fish & Chips, the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. My husband had the Catch of the day and chips which ended up being a cod-like fish - it was very nice and fresh. I had the special - soft shell crab chilli burger and it was very tasty, but a bit scary to look at! (I expected a patty not a whole crab!). The reason for 4/5 stars was it felt more like very good pub fish and chips and not the sea-side slightly greasy fish and chips I was hoping for, but might be personal preference. The unlimited chips was great although my husband and I shared his chips and didn’t want seconds.
Elysia S — Google review
Disappointing ! So, this was a treat from my wife and son for my birthday. I fish a lot, both here and abroad, and I cook my catch regularly, so I know what I'm talking about. I'm a big fan of Rick's cookery programmes and books, and cook his recipes at home. So things were set for an enjoyable experience. I was quite underwhelmed ! We had the sampler menu for 2 people. The fish were supposedly hake, lemon sole, pouting and whiting. The only one with any sort of flavour was what they identified as whiting (I think they may have been muddled up as it tasted more like sole). The 3 other fish were very very bland, with any flavour they did have being totally masked by the huge amount of batter. To make matters worse, the batter held onto the oil / beef dripping so much that everything was incredibly greasy. There was barely any fish when compared to the amount of batter. Price - if it had been the best fish and chips of my life I could accept the high price tag . . . . . . but it wasn't. I've had better fresh fish with huge flavour and larger portions at half the price back home in Kent. For somewhere that has good local ingredients from a company that is supposedly renowned for fish cookery, it was very poor. It needs the boss (Rick) to drop in unannounced and do some quality control. And ask himself if he's happy putting his name to the product. I know I wouldn't be ! Save your money, walk round to the harbour and get fish and chips there. Twice the quality and quantity at half the price.

We started our week in Padstow with a trip to Rick Stein’s Fish & Chips. It did not disappoint! We really enjoyed the cod and chips, and had a side of scampi with halloumi. It will always be on our list when in Padstow. Excellent food every time!
Richard W — Google review
Battered cod and chips, fried in beef dripping, matched with tangy tartare sauce, mushy peas, salt and malt vinegar made for one of the best meals of my life. Fabulous service and wonderful ambience make Rick’s well worth a visit when in Cornwall.
Gary B — Google review
I’m Scottish and have eaten fish and chips 🍟 all my life. This was the BEST THING I have ever eaten! First class 👏🏼 Sssh. There are picnic tables hidden around the back of the takeaway store.
Ross M — Google review
We've always come for fish and chips as our treat when we visit Padstow several times a year, but today was indeed the last time. The fish was absolutely appalling, thin, over cooked and beyond dry, the batter was burnt and rock hard. £42 for two portions of cod and chips which went into the bin. Sorry Rick but your fish chef is shockingly bad. After a lovely day in Padstow, it was let down by the poor quality of fish and its cooking.
MalGib P — Google review
Upon arriving at Rick Stein's in Newquay, I was greeted by a beautiful location right beside a stunning beach. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed that day, so I quickly made my way to Rick Stein's in Padstow instead. Although the setting there wasn’t quite as scenic, it did offer ample Pay and Display parking near the harbour. The shop was impeccably clean and tidy, and the staff were pleasant and polite. While the food was certainly on the pricey side, which I expected, it was well-presented with high-quality ingredients, as I also expected from an establishment owned by such a celebrated chef. The cod and chips came in a fairly average portion size; a few extra chips would have been welcome. The cod itself was fresh and thick, and the beef dripping batter added a noticeable depth of flavour to what was otherwise slightly bland cod. I found the chipati to be well overpriced for what it offered. The fish burger, on the other hand, was delicious, served in a fresh brioche bun with a crisp salad. The mushy peas and tartare sauce were both very tasty. In summary, although the food was high quality and well presented, I felt it didn’t entirely justify the premium price. However, I’d gladly return anytime for the delicious, super-crunchy, non-greasy scraps! Run by a passionate New Zealand native with a family history of cafes in Padstow, this cozy spot offers scrumptious breakfasts and light lunches alongside delectable sweet treats.
We stopped here for breakfast before going on one of the Sea Safari’s and so glad we tried this place! The food was amazing, I had the Harbourside Start which was the perfect size and my partner had the Full Cornish. Everything was cooked perfectly and so tasty. I also couldn’t resist a slice of the chocolate layer cake because it looked amazing and tasted even better! The service was fabulous, everyone was really friendly, it was super quick but not rushed, and there were plenty of staff but all there for a reason and it didn’t feel like too much. We’ll gladly come here again next time we’re in Padstow!

Have to say, the coffee here is some of the best I've had. We had some gorgeous food here and ther service was friendly and quick. Our only let down was that the cake we had after wasn't quite cooked in the middle so we had to leave some of it. We would still recommend it and we would return.

The best cafe in Cornwall! Fabulous service, incredible cakes, great coffee. They even have a takeaway hatch if you're in a hurry as there is usually a wait for a table. The wait, however, is worth it! The photos are from previous years, so any prices will be out of date.

Came with a family of 4 for breakfast on a weekend, lovely cosy place with great food and coffee. This place is clearly the go-to in the village for breakfast/brunch and given the size of the place you should definitely come early for a table. Service was spectacular too and I believe 3 different ladies there checked in on us, all very attentive.

Only real negative is the cafe has only a small seating area. You can put your name on a queue but peak summer this could be a long wait. We were lucky and only had to wait 20mins. Food, service, etc all fantastic.

BinTwo is a top choice in Padstow, offering stunning views of the estuary. The wine selection includes local options from Trevibban Mill and there's also a variety of cocktails available. The outdoor covered seating area can accommodate up to 24 people, making it perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a bite to eat. In addition to their impressive wine selection, they offer specialty coffee and a range of bar snacks including fresh Padstow Crab rolls.
Stopped here for a coffee and cake as the usual places were very busy (a hot day and plenty of visitors indulging in fish and chips). Very reasonable prices and great friendly staff. We sat outside in the little cubicles and had a break from walking round.

Just off the main Harbour away from all the main hustle and bustle is this little gem of a place. I wish I could describe it in one worrd but it's more than just one thing it sells bottles of wine, sparkling wine and champagne. It also has a small seating area inside and outside to the front where you can have a glass or two of what you fancy. They also serve platers of food to go with the drink of your choice. The service is great and the owner not only has a fantastic choice of wine champagne and beers he has lots of knowledge of all he sells to. We had a couple of glasses of champagne with a plater of cheese and it was that good and that relaxing we had a bottle of champagne and spent the afternoon there just watching the world go by. I would not go back to Padstow if it did not include a vist here. Totally recommend it.

Visitors can enjoy brewery tours and even participate in the Brewday Experience to learn about brewing firsthand.
We had a paddle each - a great way to taste the different ales and ciders. Accompanied by a cheese platter. There was live music on and the staff were smiley and welcoming. Great atmosphere.

We booked for a large group of us for a tutored beer tasting and lunch. It was very enjoyable indeed. John gave a very informative and interesting talk about the beers, and coped very well with the fact that half the group were French, so there was a lot of translating going on, making it a tad chaotic for him. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. Everyone commented on what a lovely time we'd had. Thank you all so much.
Boocock S — Google review
Sadly I was unable to order beers directly from the brewery due to the ridiculous delivery charges. It seems there is a blanket rate for 'Scotland ' which cost more than the beer I intended to buy! I found the same beers elsewhere at a far better rate
Sian B — Google review
Really pleasant spot for some lovely ale and good light bites. Seems to have better opening hours for food than a lot of the pubs in Padstow too. We had a crab platter (lovely crab - and a generous amount) and a charcuterie platter and some delicious May Day summer ale. Lovely staff with great table service in a spacious, nicely decorated room. Very dog friendly too. We always make a point of coming here - usually just for a drink but we were hungry this time.

I visited Padstow August 2024. The local Padstow Brewing Company ales and ciders are really impressive. The owner/brew master met us for the tour, we were fortunate and sampled lots of brews. Recently tried their online shop, but selection was limited . The customer service is great. I chose to wait and delay my order when there are new brews available. It is a bit more expensive than other brewers but this is a good independent brewery. I live a long way from Cornwall and only visit once a year so its nice. It's going to be nice to have a pint of Padstow at home.

Padstow Cycle Hire Ltd is a bike rental service located in the harbor car park in Padstow, offering bikes and buggies for exploring the Camel Trail. The trail spans 18 miles from Padstow through Wadebridge and Bodmin on a historic rail track, with spectacular views of the estuary, moorlands, and woodland. Customers can rent electric bikes as well as traditional ones.
Great time and highly recommend. The trial itself it’s beautiful and flat. Perfect for all ages and abilities. Range of bikes available and staff were friendly sorting us out. We had a 10 month old and he loved sitting in the trailer. We had to pack it out with some jumpers and towels to stop him moving about too much but then all was safe. Covers for rain and also mesh to protect them for grit/sun. Trailer attached to a normal bike. Puncture kits and a lock provided. Our chain broke on the track. We phoned up and the staff came out to replace the bike without any problems. Fortunately we broke down where they could reach us as there are not that many places a car/van can reach. We went on a normal weekday and didn’t book and there were plenty of bikes available. I can imagine you may need to book in the summer months. Toilets and cafes on route to stop at.

This bicycle hire shop is situated at the beginning of the Camel trail cycle path at the Padstow end. Very friendly and helpful staff in the shop. We hired a Tandem bike and two junior mountain bikes. Cycle pump, puncture repair kit and a lock were offered for us take on the ride. Bikes were a in good condition. Pannier bags were also included on the tandem bike. Parking area available in front of the shop. Toilet facilities available at the train station which is a minute walk from the shop.

Bikes are of excellent quality and very well maintained. Exceptional service delivered promptly and efficiently. Highly recommend going on the camel trail and stopping at the well known tea room for a spot of lunch.
Hamish M — Google review
We reserved two adult bikes online. We collected our bikes around 11am and set off to enjoy the trail. Unfortunately we didn't make it out of the car park because we discovered one of the bikes had a rear puncture and the other rear tyre was in need of a good pumping up. Given we had paid £48 we found this disappointing. The bikes clearly hadn't been checked before being allocated. However, despite this initial disappointment, once we got going we really enjoyed the trail and the bikes performed well.
Alison W — Google review
Easy booking and collection which is great. Bikes were a bit tired and below par, especially one of my kids’ ones. I gave some feedback on return about the performance of the brakes on my bike, but it wasn’t really taken seriously and I was told ‘the bike is new and still bedding in’ - it most certainly wasn’t new! Better quality bikes and an all round nicer experience from Camel Trail Cycle Hire in Wadebridge who I’ve used a couple of times in the past.
M G — Google review
Cycles were in good condition and performed well. Would have been a five star review except for their staff who did not want to be there and were perfunctory at best - not a single smile - no thank you - when we returned the bikes, the one guy didn't even grunt one word to us. . felt very much like customers were an imposition to them. If you can find someplace else to rent bikes that would appreciate your business or at least pretend. . do it.

Tarquin's Gin School & Shop in Padstow offers a unique experience for gin enthusiasts. Visitors can participate in a gin-making class where they learn about the process and get to create their own personalized bottle of gin to take home. The knowledgeable and friendly staff guide participants through the experience, providing an enjoyable and informative session. With a wide range of ingredients available, attendees can craft their own unique blend before naming and waxing the bottle as a special touch.
“Zesty Heat” and “A bit of Bali on the Cornish Coast” My wife has done many Gin Schools and I’d done one before too. This was her third here and my first. It was a 241 seasonal offer and too good a deal to refuse. As ever the wonderfull staff are friendly and knowledgable, you get a double G&T at the start and one at then end each plus if you “over distilled” you can have a bonus G&T of the gin you made. It’s a full on “chemical brewing and distilling process” and you dedign your own gin around base notes that are always there, you then get to name it, label it and seal it with wax. I can highly recommend this experience and it’s great for couples as you then get two unique gins which can be saved and recreated for you from your “saved” recipe. Take a look at the pics and do have a go yourselves. So a few weeks later and the “Zesty Heat” has matured beautifully and this is the first test…a truly delicious “Gin Bloody Mary”

Really great afternoon at the Gin School. Detailed explanation of the process, the history behind the company. Guided through the process enough that your Gin is personal to you but didn’t go too off piste with conflicting flavours. Would highly recommend and we as locals will definitely be going back, maybe to do a Xmas gin. Big Thanks to Matt, he was brilliant.

We had a lovely Saturday morning making gin at Tarquin’s Padstow shop. Fran led our masterclass and she was superb. It was a very calm, informative and fun led course. Loads of botanicals to use and Fran’s suggestions on matches to create something akin to your favourite gins were super helpful. A couple of double gins to enjoy along the way was also very well received. It may have helped that there was only 6 of us but I’d definitely give this masterclass a go. Also the shop has loads of tastings of their various products and some great offers so have a look around.

We love the experience that much this is our 3rd visit to distill our own. Each time the experience is fantastic and Wendy is down to earth and a great host. When you have a theme ie taste of what you would like to make advice is given throughout. You even get to drink the lovely Tarquins gin while there and they are not shy! We have waited a week now and opened our gins to taste and both are great again 😀. 1 was influenced by the Mediterranean and the other Indian tea and warm spices. Thank you Wendy for another great experience

We had so much fun at the gin school! Everything was really well instructed and interactive. Fran was very knowledgeable and helpful with creating flavours we wanted to go for. We had the most amazing time at Tarquin's gin school in Padstow. It was very interesting to learn the gin making process and about all the different botanicals and how they influence the flavour of the gin. Making our own gin was great fun and we had a good laugh with others in the group. Our instructor for the day was Fran and she was absolutely brilliant, very knowledgeable and experienced and instantly put everyone at ease so we enjoyed the experience. We will be back next year for another session. Highly recommend, Tarquin's, if you read this you should make the gin school available every day of the week.

They found a replacement even though it was after 7pm and housekeeping had gone home, and we were very grateful. Dinner and breakfast were both very well prepared. This is about 15 minutes walking uphill from the Southwest Coast Path, but if you're doing that walk, it's worth the effort to come here!

Fantastic Campervan Stay – Perfect for Families We stayed in our campervan for 4 nights at the end of September and had a brilliant time. From the moment we arrived, the reception team were warm and welcoming, and all the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. The site was immaculate - clean, well-maintained, and clearly cared for. Before our friends arrived the next day, a little buggy even came around to check everything was spotless and ready, which we thought was a lovely touch. We ate twice in the onsite bar and seating area, which had a really cosy and relaxing atmosphere. We tried the meat feast night and pizza night - both were delicious! Not forgetting very dog friendly too. The outdoor space was fantastic for children, with oversized Connect 4, trampolines, a great play area, and even onsite animals, including alpacas, which were a hit with the kids! Location-wise, it was ideal, just a 15 minute walk to Porthcothan beach, and with a bus stop right outside the entrance that takes you to Newquay or Padstow. All in all, an amazing mini break, made even better by glorious weather. We’ll definitely be back!

We love this place and this is our third year camping here. The site is lovely and location is brilliant. The food there is great, and the atmosphere, especially when live music is on, is perfect. The kids love the park and the animals and all the staff are super nice and helpful. There’s a little shop for essentials, chest freezers for storing food and a nice dog walking area. We will be back for our fourth stay next year. The only thing this year, is that we noticed a big drop in the cleanliness of the toilets and showers. It’s a really busy site and they are simply not cleaned enough or well enough. We found the showers in the mornings were still full of the same mud, sand, hair, that was all there the previous evening. This isn’t something we’ve ever experienced here on previous visits. Just feeding this back in hope it can be rectified, as when camping, the toilets and showers are so important. I would also say, the site is notably busier with day guests, and it felt really busy at times, with huge bar queues. This can also create some dodgy parking and a lot of cars out front, it’s not ideal, so worth being aware of that when you have younger children.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve just had the most amazing roast dinner at MacDonald’s Farm near Porthcothan — their very first ever roast sitting, and they absolutely nailed it! The setting couldn’t be more perfect — a brilliant location just a short walk from the beach, with a roaring fire, cosy atmosphere and lovely relaxed vibe. The presentation and food were spot on, and the staff were so polite, friendly and attentive throughout. I had the 28-day aged Cornish Topside of Beef and my daughter had the free-range chicken supreme infused with Cornish sea salt — both cooked to perfection. The sharing platters were beautifully served with crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, seasonal veg, cauliflower cheese, and maple-glazed carrots and parsnips — everything was full of flavour and clearly made with care. It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday — a beach walk followed by full bellies and happy hearts. Can’t wait to go back!

We had such a fantastic stay at this family-oriented campsite! The facilities are excellent clean, well-maintained, and perfect for both adults and children. The pitches are spacious and well laid out, making it really comfortable and easy to settle in. One of the real highlights is the on-site café/restaurant. The food was delicious, and we loved the welcoming atmosphere. On certain dates, they even host live music which was such a treat and added a really fun element to our evenings. The play area for the children is amazing and having access to see all the animals as well was lovely. Overall, it’s the perfect spot for a family getaway. Great facilities, great food, and a wonderful environment—we’ll definitely be back!

Lovely place, first stayed in July for two weeks. Perfect place near the coast. Lovely food and added bonus of animals! Facilities are well maintained and plentiful. Staff who I have interacted with have all been friendly and a real credit to the business. Enjoyed it so much decided to go back for an overnight stop on a road trip on the way back home to Yorkshire.

We stayed one night in a Guest Room and wished we had booked for longer. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well appointed, with a wonderfully fluffy and warm duvet. The staff were fantastic – friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent and beautifully prepared. The animals, especially the chickens and alpacas, added so much charm and made the stay even more memorable. It’s about a 15-minute uphill walk from the Southwest Coast Path, but absolutely worth it for such a lovely experience.

Trevone Bay, located near Padstow, is a picturesque beach known for its Blue Flag Award in 2018. It's a popular spot for surfers with nearby water sports facilities and offers secluded alcoves along the coast. The beach features a large blowhole on top of the cliff and has seasonal dog bans. Visitors can enjoy the sandy inlet and explore the surrounding trails with stunning coastal views. Additionally, there are amenities such as a bar, restaurant, and shops nearby.
There are stunning views from the cliff tops surrounding the beautiful bay of Trevone. There is a lovely cafe close to the beach which serves delicious food and drinks which is pretty good priced. There are toilets beside the cafe which you have to pay to enter which is still cash only payment.
Julie D — Google review
Really nice little sandy beach with good facilities suitable for family with young children. There is also a tidal pool nearby. For those who prefer to hike, there is a path on both sides of the beach with amazing views. Look out for the Trevone Round Hole. There is a shop, cafe, bar, public toilet and two parking areas. You can pay for parking either with the ticket machine or via app.
Karl T — Google review
Lovely beach, shops, cafes and restaurants available. Accessible beach with a small slope. Benches to sit on if you don’t want to go on the beach. Good parking if you get there early enough.
Jodie D — Google review
Lovely beach for families, the little stream provides a perfect place for little ones to safely dip their toes in the water and the sand is soft and clean. The beach slopes gently so even the shallows are fairly safe. It's worth taking a walk up to Trevone Round Hole which takes about 30 minutes to go up, walk around the hole and get back to the beach. The views from the cliffs up there are stunning. The parking sign states that your ticket must be visible face up on the dash, but your timings are clocked by camera coming in and leaving so don't be tempted to over stay and go by the time you enter, not the time you get your ticket. The road down to the beach is very narrow so take it slowly as you will encounter oncoming traffic and pedestrians.
Hayley T — Google review
We only visited for last nights sunset so can't really give any detailed feedback on Trevone Bay. The road into Trevone was very tight and caution is advised with oncoming traffic. The car park was up on the hill over looking the beach and cost us around £4 for the hour and half we were there which is a little pricey but on par with other car parks around Cornwall. The beach is only small and was very busy with many there to watch the sunset and take a late night dip. The sunset didn't disappoint and was absolutely beautiful, my 2 children (5 & 11) had never watched a sunset before and will no doubt remember the experience the rest of their lives . Plenty of photo opportunities and will live long in the memory.

THE bay to visit in Cornwall! Amazing bay, lovely shop, cafe and bar. Staff are so kind and helpful. Life guards on duty on normal times of the season. Just a magical place....
Anna R — Google review
Lovely little bay. On a big tide it leaves little to no beach likewise on a lower tide lots of sand is exposed. Can get rough, has waves, etc., so be cautious whilst swimming especially with kids. Either side of the bay is a rocky cliff face with some reef. There is a bar/restaurant near the car park which is expensive but that's expected, given the location.

Water & Amusement Parks
Retallack Water Sports offers a variety of water activities, including slides, trampolines, climbing domes, obstacle courses, a hamster wheel, and a swing. The staff is friendly and professional with warm showers available. While the facilities are nice and well-maintained, it's recommended to avoid busy times for a better experience. Additionally, no swimming expertise is required but some upper body strength would be beneficial for certain activities.
Been swimming there every day now for a few weeks, the monthly fee is reasonable, and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Elle has been so helpful, I took my 2 year old granddaughter there today, and Elle provided us with a few floating toys, and made my granddaughters first swimming session a successful trip! Going back tomorrow.

Tickets for this can either be purchased online or at the cafe attached. Pre-booking is highly recommended. They have a tow line which will pull you along in rings like we did, or I assume they do "wakeboarding" as there are ramps there as well. There is a decent size inflatable assault course there as well. Life vests and helmets provided, small charge for wetsuits if I remember correctly. Cafe, does tea, coffee, soft drinks, ice creams. But pricey, but as expected for where it is. Small car park nearby.
ROB B — Google review
Great inflatable setup, enjoyed going over all the obstacles. There were however two massive negatives to the experience. The men’s changing rooms were closed & the staff stated the ladies changing rooms should be used as a unisex changing room even though they were open plan with no cubicles. The other negative is the website gives no indication for how busy the slots are, we unfortunately ended up in a very overcrowded session because of this…
Sutty's — Google review
Groups of fully grown adults, mixed with groups with young children, should not be sharing the inflatable aqua park in the same session, totally unsafe. It was like throwing your kids onto the pitch during an adult rugby match. We were a group of five adults with five children aged between 6 and 11 for a birthday party. 2 of the lifeguards were speaking so loudly amongst themselves during the safety brief that the quietly spoken instructor could not be heard. During the session there was a small group of younger adults who had no regard for anyone else using the water park. Charging around and launching themselves over the top of quite terrified 6 year olds trying to balance and stay upright themselves. The lifeguards were a little unfortunate on this day as this group were particularly unaware of themselves and were frankly, a sandwich short of a picnic. The issue I have is by the time the lifeguards noticed and did something about it, this group had already shoved me in while assisting my kids around the course and then repeated the action. The lifeguards had to watch them like hawks from then on and it just made it a poor experience, with significant risk of injury. I explained this the following day and a refund was agreed, however this took 5 weeks to action, multiple emails and calls had to be made to follow up to get the refund. If the changing rooms had some privacy for males and females alike and if a family session was available for U12s for example, this would improve the offering. Adult groups need to be separate to young children or controlled in a far stricter way.
Shaun K — Google review
Lovely people but if you want to buy a bag of haribos your need to sell your life savings.
George L — Google review
Great place to try water sports, we did paddleboarding, but each activity has to be paid for separately which can work out a bit pricey. That said, they provided wet suits at no extra charge and the instructors were helpful.
Derek S — Google review
The water activities are really fun! A mixture of slides, a trampoline, climbing domes and frames, obstacles courses, a hamster wheel and a swing make up the majority of the inflatables on the water. Really worth the experience! The staff are also friendly and professional, with adequate parking nearby. No swimming expertise required, although some upper body strength would be good for body hoisting.

The course in the pictures in completely different to what it is. Beach cafe was closed although it states open. No clear signs of where to go or parking. No happy with it as its very mis leading. Small course and false advertising

Stepper Point is a picturesque headland on the North Cornwall coast, offering stunning views of the bay and the iconic Doom Bar. The area features a coastal watch station that is open to the public. Visitors can embark on a 2.5-mile circular walk from Padstow, passing through charming villages and exploring arches, collapsed caves, and islands along the Cornish coastline.
A gorgeous headland which is part of the South West Coast Trail. The headland above Stepper Point is topped by a 40 ft (12 m) stone tower built in 1830 as a 'day mark' to serve as a navigation beacon for seafarers during daylight, it is visible from over 30 miles offshore and still referred to as the ‘Daymark’

A lovely beach to visit, with a stunning sunset view. The waves are really fun!! Definitely on top of the list to visit for surfing. In addition, the beach was not crowded which really gives you indefinite time to appreciate its beauty and so captive of a long gaze! Availability of lifeguard until 6ish.

Lovely beach which opens up as the tide goes out . Life guards through the summer until 6pm . There is a good shop by the beach . Also a decent car park ( run by the council ) with fair prices ( cards accepted ) . Also toilets at the Car park which are regularly cleaned but you need 20p to enter . The beach at the top doesn’t get covered by the tide . Surf is very good and water clean . No jelly fish in June unlike ,for some reason , other near by beaches .

Trevose Head Lighthouse, built in 1847 by Trinity House, stands on a picturesque headland owned by the National Trust in Cornwall. The area is popular for its stunning views and is a favorite spot for walkers and bird watchers. The lighthouse provides guidance to ships navigating the Bristol Channel amidst granite cliffs that can be obscured by sea mists. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking sunsets and may even spot seals while exploring the area.
Very dramatic panoramic sea views from here. Well worth a visit. Quite a drive from the main road to the car park down very narrow roads but worth the effort. Great sunset spot too. Don't forget nearby is the historic Rock of ages.

Located on the north Cornish coast, the striking tower is 89 feet (27 m) tall and has a fascinating history dating back to the year 1844, eventually becoming a listed building in 1988. Surrounded by fantastic coastal hiking paths and breathtaking views. Parking for a fee.

It's one of my favourite places on the North Coast of Cornwall. What ever the weather it doesn't disappoint. Great views of the lighthouse & the rough sea and coast beyond. Plenty of parking at the National Trust carpark free for members. Just go & sit to take in the breathtaking views. Recommended

Beautiful area. Pretty expensive parking, but I would say it's well worth it. Not overly busy, pretty remote meaning very peaceful. No cafes or restaurants nearby so people are not flocking in. Take a picnic, blanket and enjoy lovely views or go for a lovely walk alongside the cliffs.

“Bright, tall, and impossible to ignore — basically the influencer of the coastline. Trevose Head Lighthouse has been photobombing the ocean views here since 1847, and honestly, it hasn’t aged a bit. Fantastic service, we popped in here in the summer whilst on holiday & we brought the baby elephant from the Edge sculpture range, we loved it that much that we had to pop in again & brought the Robin from same range for a birthday present. Staff are so friendly & helpful, Roger has been fantastic in posting the items over to us. For Christmas I brought the Fox for my partner, I message Roger that I need it for a certain day to keep it as a surprise & the packaging not to have anything on it to give it away, he did all that for me. I always visit this gallery when in Padstow. Whilst there's always something new to look at, the art always reminds me of Cornwall. I also discovered Paul Bennett here, whose art is entrancing. My wife and I visited the gallery a couple of years ago. The items in the gallery were of fine quality and affordable. The owner made time to tell us about the people who had contributed to the gallery and she made you feel welcome and not like you had got to buy something and or get out. If you get a chance take a look.

What the eponymous Mr Stein does for food in this seaside retreat for epicurians the Padstow Gallery does for those seekers of more visual and tactile pleasures . It is a difficult act, balancing a show of art that breaks new ground and excites as well as pays the rent, but I think this Gallery does just that with this new show. There is a joy here and a celebration of both the Cornish landscape and mindscape. I would be surprised if you end your visit without wanting to take at least one image or one piece of Bridget Johnson's sky bound ceramics away with you.

Driftwood Gallery, situated on Padstow's harbourside, is a family-run establishment showcasing an impressive collection of artwork by renowned artists like Henderson Cisz, Philip Gray, and Rebecca Lardner. The gallery offers a diverse range of contemporary bronzes, glass pieces, jewelry, and traditional artwork. Visitors can explore the exquisite collection before indulging in a delightful dining experience at one of Padstow's acclaimed restaurants.
Whilst on holiday in Cornwall, I visited Padstow, and came across this wonderful fine art gallery, buying my first bronze sculpture of a grey seal from here. Over the course of many memorable and enjoyable visits to Driftwood Gallery, between November 2017 and September 2020, I have built up a truly magnificent collection of artwork, consisting mainly of bronze sculptures and a few paintings. This was all under the auspices of the then gallery manager Laura Jefferson. The gallery exhibits a wide variety of fine artwork, by leading contemporary artists, comprised mostly of paintings, bronze sculptures and glass formed pieces. With regards to the staff, Laura was always welcoming and very happy to help with everything, having lots of enthusiasm about the artwork, giving good and logical advice throughout. As an art consultant, extremely knowledgable, owing to her background in fine art, and being a talented animal / wildlife artist. Laura always did a really excellent job as gallery manager, and it’s a shame that she has left Driftwood. Undoubtedly she will be greatly missed by all. I always received superb customer service, nothing was ever any trouble to do at all, so I would highly recommend visiting this gallery, especially if you have an interest in fine art.
