Ferry service
Fred Olsen La Gomera is a popular choice for travelers during the Carnival festivities in the Canaries. The island hosts vibrant celebrations around Playa Santiago and Alajero, with locals dressing up according to each year's chosen theme. The ferry service from Los Christianos, Tenerife to La Gomera - Valle Gran Rey via San Sabastian offers excellent ORO class service with relaxed settings and good food.
Lovely trimaran shuttling passengers and vehicles between La Gomera and Tenerife. Comfortable on board with very clean and decent facilities on board. The cafe’s are very reasonably priced and offer a good selection of drinks and snacks. The crew are amazing and very friendly and helpful, even to non Spanish speakers. Ferry companies crossing the English Channel and Solent could learn a lot from these guys.

El Duke Beach is one of the hidden gems on the south coast! With its pristine shores and crystal-clear waters, it's definitely one of the best beaches around. If you're looking for a relaxing spot to soak up the sun and enjoy the ocean, El Duke Beach is a must-visit destination.
Miha S — Google review
Really enjoyable ride from Los Christianos to La Gomera, all the staff were friendly, boarding and departing were efficient. Sailed on time. Even had the added bonus of seeing dolphins during the trip! Seats are very comfortable and lots of room!

The service was good, very simple check-in process, everything on time, no delays.
Dorota Ż — Google review
Great service and on time, on this occasion its was from Los Christianos, Tenerife, to La Gomera - Valle Gran Rey via San Sabastian. On the big crossing we went ORO class, well worth it for the staff, relaxed setting and nice food/drink. On little „Benchi“ the views were great and a much more relaxed service than the bus, obviously a bit more expensive but you will get to see Santiago too which is a nice little village. Both terminals were clean and had good facilities if you needed to wait. Buses are timed to meet ferries for onward trips. Looking forward to the next opportunity to go Fred.
Martin S — Google review
Pet-friendly areas, good service, reliable schedule.
Jona M — Google review
Overall positive experience. Just follow the signs on the road. Cars are waiting in lines, quick ID and ticket check. The only concern is related to chaotic car parking on the ferry: car are left disorganised and I wouldn’t be surprised if it my ended up with scratches during bad weather or non-experienced driver. Comfortable seats, good bar, overall great experience

Playa de la Cueva is a secluded gem located beyond the city's main beach, offering a serene atmosphere with its black sands and pebbles gently lapped by the Atlantic Ocean. Accessible through a tunnel near the port, this charming small beach features a delightful promenade perfect for leisurely walks in the sunshine. A very Beautiful Beach..with not much crowd....short distance from the port and it has a beautiful view of Mount Teide, which is a volcano on Tenerife ....visited La Gomera in November 2019...hope to visit once again..once the COVID phase has passed

(Translated by Google) Playa de la Cueva is a little gem... volcanic. If you're dreaming of Maldives-style white sand, quickly change archipelagos: here, it's black pebbles and blazing sun, for a foot massage courtesy of Mother Nature herself. As for the atmosphere? Ultra-relaxed. Three people on the beach, and it's already a Saturday crowd. Getting there? Easy: no need to go through a tunnel to reach the pebbles (it leads directly to the mound with the Olympic flame), just lay down your towel a few steps from the center of San Sebastián, and voilà! By the way, special mention goes to this Olympic flame monument placed there as a surprise in Kinder. It's no longer burning, but admit it, it allows you to shine in society: "Did you know that in '68 the torch passed through here?" Are you looking for comfort? It's more of a "back to basics" than a "seaside luxury" style: hide-and-seek parking, unpredictable showers, and pebbles as the only seating. But the water is clear, the view of Mount Teide is breathtaking when the weather is right, and the peace and quiet... Olympian! In short: 3 stars because the beach has its authentic charm, its historical touch, a certain taste for simplicity, and you leave with your feet even more invigorated than when you arrived. For postcard-style beach relaxation, come back later. Here, we embrace the local philosophy: minimalist, but true.

Outdoor Activities
Playa San Sebastián is a public beach located just a short walk from the city center. It features distinctive volcanic sand and offers a tranquil and uncrowded atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. The family-friendly beach is known for its calm, soothing waters, making it perfect for unwinding and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The shore slopes gently towards the sea, providing easy access to the water.
This beach is a rare one in La Gomera when it comes to waves - meaning it has almost none, and it is how I like it. Because the ocean gets pretty strong and for kids this might be an issue.. It has black sand, some portions with rocks and pebles. Close free parking, free umbrellas and plenty of space to relax in the sun.
Stephan B — Google review
Sandy beach near town with free parking, showers and some shade from palm trees and fixed umbrellas. Protected from large waves. Only bad thing is the diesel exhausts from ferries and not a lot of charm. Lots of locals on the beach.
Xavier L — Google review
Good... small beach ⛱️.... black beach....
Aiju A — Google review
Nice black sandy beach with free umbrellas. The harbour protects it from the waves. There are changing rooms, showers (even though they were closed due to drought) and free umbrellas. The beach is equipped for handicapped persons with very helpful lifeguards. Snorkeling is nice with lots of fishes and even rays.
Eugenio F — Google review
I like the fav that there were no sunbeds or commercial stuff. There were some umbrellas, and that was great. It’s a very chill beach during weekdays. Maybe it gets crowded on weekends.

Torre del Conde is a 15th-century stone tower located in a picturesque setting with stunning ocean views. It stands as a significant example of military architecture on the Canary Islands, representing the capital's power during the 1400s. The tower is nestled within a lush subtropical park, offering a striking contrast with its white and brown facade against the surrounding greenery. Inside, visitors can explore a small museum showcasing old photos and maps of the city, providing insight into its rich history.
A quick stop for a quick look is enough. You cannot go inside. The construction was completed in the late medieval era. It is a military fortification of Gothic style, square plan and prismatic shape. It is 15 m high, about 40 m in diameter, and the walls are 2 m thick. It has the privilege of being the only Gothic tower in the Canary Islands. It is a fortress that served as a military defense against the aborigines of La Gomera and at the same time highlighted the lordly power of the conquerors In the middle of the park.

The Church of the Assumption, located in San Sebastian de La Gomera, holds great historical and religious significance. It was a place of prayer for Columbus and his crew before their journey to the New World. Although the original chapel was destroyed by fire, the current 18th-century church stands as a blend of Mudejar, Gothic, and Baroque styles.
Church of the assumption San Sebastián de La Gomera, capital of La Gomera was erected in XV century C.E. A long history dedicated to the island. Built in Gothic and Rococo style mixed with Mudéjar style. The largest Catholic church on La Gomera. The church was the target of a pirate attack in 1619. The owners of the charming café, Resturante el Tropico, are not only adorable but also highly efficient and pleasant. The coffee at this establishment is unparalleled in taste, and the crepes are simply astounding. Despite being relatively new to the scene, it's unfortunate that they have been burdened with negative reviews left by previous owners. However, their unwavering dedication to providing the freshest and most delectable food is evident through their tireless efforts.

Terrible experience for our family of four. We still felt hungry after leaving and were verbally abused by the Italian chef. There are unreasonable reviews and factual ones, this one will be the latter. When we arrived, it took 15min for the waitress to notice us (even though there were only 2 other tables occupied). The waitress was kind, but clearly very inexperienced. There was a big language barrier, so we decided to keep it simple and just order a bottle of wine, 2 tuna steaks, gamba’s and risotto. The gamba’s and risotto arrived quite quickly and the waitress told us the rest would come soon. However, the chef came outside for a smoke, shouting ‘5 minutes brake!’. We were flabbergasted. The risotto wasn’t risotto at all but a tiny plate of overcooked rice with some Parmesan. The gamba’s were dry but the taste was ok. 15 minutes later, it turned out something went wrong, because the waitress asked us if we would like to order desert, not noticing that half of us didn’t have dinner yet. After another 10 minutes the tuna arrived. It was a sad, cold, overcooked piece of fish tasting like the dirty grill it came from. The vegetables and potatoes we ordered with it were nowhere to be seen. We decided to take our loss and get the hell out, but the bill added up to €65,- (we’ve had great meals on La Gomera for much much less). We decided €50 was enough. Instead of apologizing for the bad service, the chef started shouting at us in Italian. We were sorry for the guests still waiting for their meals.
Karin D — Google review
Don't go there - tried 3 dishes (hummus, salmon salad, mushrooms), all of them were an abomination. Even the chef himself seemed to be sad about the food he sent out.

The restaurant boasts intricate decor and an inviting ambiance. Visitors rave about the original and perfectly balanced flavor combinations of the dishes, which are beautifully presented. While the service may not be swift, it is friendly and adds to the relaxed pace of the island.
Must visit when you are visiting La Gomera!!! Located in the heart of San Sebastian, a perfect place for having your (late) lunch. We loved it so much that we paid a visit for 2 times and the meals were simply delicious, made out of fresh ingredients. The venue is opened only 13:00 to 18:00, so plan your day accordingly. People tend to make reservations a lot here as well. We will also return here if we found ourselves travelling to La Gomera in future.

We had our best meal in La Gomera in this cute colorful bistro, great service, amazing food & wine! The style of food is European cuisine with asian twists, using fresh and local ingredients. Highly recommended! Probably better to book in advance as it is a busy restaurant.

Fabiana is the kindest hostess and an excellent cook. Her personality, combined with her delicious cooking and relaxing restaurant vibe added up to the perfect meal. Chinese restaurant
Thai restaurant
Looking for a departure from papas arrugadas, one stumbled upon Restaurante chino La Fortuna which surprisingly offered acceptable Asian cuisine. The menu included chicken red curry, stir-fried veggies, and plain rice. It was a pleasant revelation, although not on par with authentic Thai fare. This family-owned establishment appeared to strive diligently to satisfy their customers, making it worth recommending.
Being a vegetarian in Spain and its colonies is not easy. The food here was so good that we came here twice during our short stay .
Prashanth M — Google review
Horrible, cheap quality food. The soup lacks the flavour or what so ever. A few cheap quality frozen shrimps are in the soup but they have no taste of shrimp. Satay sauce have no peanut flavour and taste like they put starch to make it thick to cut the cost of proper ingredients. One of the worst restaurants ever.
Nihongo — Google review
Food was plentiful but bland, no flavour or spice, if it wasnt for the waitress giving us seasoning and spice the food would have been tasteless and tiresome, (need to get an asian cook). The waitress service and attention was excellent, 5*, but as hard as she worked it couldn't make the food any better.
Trevor M — Google review
La comida es muy mala. The food was disgusting. The chicken was white and a strange taste. After, I was sick for the rest of the day.
Jesus C — Google review
I needed a change from papas arrugadas...... and surprise, surprise!..... La Fortuna came through with semi decent Asian food. I ordered the chicken red curry, stir fry vegetables and plain rice. A nice surprise, it was good. Not anything as good as my real Thai food, but I'd recommend the place. I think its a family run place and they work hard to please.
Don G — Google review
The food is tasty and inexpensive. That's about it when it comes to positives; on the down side the interior is barely passable, with toilets quality/cleaness dropping below that level. We waited 45 mins for meal that was coming as recommended, and that while there were only few other customers to serve. The waitress did not seem involved in what she was doing whatsoever, disclosing no signs of politeness or hospitality. After how she treated us I was genuinely surprised when on the way out we heard a 'bye bye'.

I ordered a Pad Thai (3.20 eur on the menu) and I got served the classic Chinese Wok Noodles. When I was presented with the check, the Pad Thai was 4.95 eur. I asked why this was and the waiter answered it was because it had vegetables with it. I understand all Pad Thais come with veggies anyway but when I asked why this wasn't mentioned in the menu, the girl replied "because all the locals already know". I'm not gonna even comment on the quality of the food but definitelty expect surprises in your bill.

Tapas bar
Junonia Restaurante is a well-established establishment in San Sebastian, known for its delicious homemade cuisine and warm, attentive staff. The restaurant is located within the courtyard of an 18th century house, although unfortunately it has undergone renovations that were not well-received. Despite this setback, the food at Junonia Restaurante is top-notch, with a variety of typical dishes and even off-menu options like a delightful salad with fresh vegetables.
A beautiful courtyard tapas bar & restaurant. Very friendly staff. The food was traditional Canarian and very good and reasonably priced, and the frosted beer glasses were a fantastic touch on a hot day.

Food was old and badly warmed up. Croquettes too hot outside and cold inside. No menu! You have to ask the price for every single tapa, portion. Weiter was clueless, could not explain dishes even in Spanish.

I took tuna with sweet potatoe (batata) as recomended by the stuff. Usually I don't like seafood but I decided to give it a try. It sursprised me a lot. It really tastes like it looks on my pic 😇. Now I start to think, maybe I just never in my life earlier have had a good prepared seafood, perhaps that's the reason I've been avoiding it 🤔. It that's the case, imagine how much I have missed on in my life 🤭

The coffee ist not so good but one of the best we tried so far. They have a really nice garden which creates a beautiful atmosphere. It would have given 3 stars but have to remove one, because they keep 4 birds in a really tiny cage, I think this is cruel.

I trusted on the reviews here... At first a guy asked me "what I want??" I told him a menu would be nice, then he mumbled something in Spanish, and left.. after a while a woman came with the menu card, so I've ordered a Goulash, which was only deep fried meat with french fries, with a great amount of oil on my plate...then I've waited at least 15 min to have the check till I get to the bar to pay myself, and I was the only guest at the time. At least the beer was cold...

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Mirador de Tajaqué, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Galería de Arte Luna. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Observation deck
Mirador de Tajaqué offers a splendid vantage point on the picturesque island of La Gomera. From here, one can marvel at breathtaking panoramas both to the north and south. Facing northward, the Parque Nacional de Garajonay unfolds before your eyes, while in the south lies Barranco de Benchijigua, where once stood an ancient village named Benchijigua. At an elevation of 1968.
Fantastic view. On a good day, with the pure air that the island has you can see an amazing canyon covered in virgin forest of La Gomera, up to the ocean shore. The other way, you can see Tenerife and even the snow covered peak of El Teide. Spectacular.

This is another fantastic viewpoint on the island of La Gomera. You will see a stunning view of the north and to the south. Facing the north Parque Nacional de Garajonay. Facing the south Barranco de Benchijigua where was located one of the oldest villages on La Gomera island, a village called Benchijigua (altitude 1968,50 feet a.s.l). The chapel Ermita San Sebastian, founded in 1450 by Hernan Peraza el Viejo, is the first Christian place of worship on the island. It is a small and modest structure with a short bell tower, showcasing some elements of gothic style that are rarely seen in the Canary Islands. Notably, Christopher Columbus and his crew sought solace here before embarking on their journey to discover the New World.

Ermita San Sebastian was officially baptised on Tuesday, January 20th, 1450 C.E. It was officially the first place of Christian worship religion on the island. Founded by the territorial lord of the Canary Islands Hernán Peraza el Viejo. I was inside the Chapel In January 2017. It is a modest chapel with a not tall belfry. We were here for a new years eve diner. Looked promising and cosy. We had to wait about 20 minutes before someone even attended us. After we placed our order we had to wait for approximately 2 hours before our starter even arrived. We cancelled the main course because it took so long. Our starter wasn't terrible but melon with ham is hard to mess up, especially after 2 hrs. So save yourself the time and don't waste a nice evening going here.

I enjoyed a hot chocolate, freshly squeezed orange juice (highly recommended!), and a durum roll at Café Bar Cacao. The food was delicious, especially the yogurt sauce inside the roll. The friendly staff served everything quickly in this relaxed establishment. While the view may not be as impressive as other places in town, the local atmosphere and excellent service make up for it. In Sweden, these 7 creations would easily cost around 13 units of currency, comparable to gourmet pizzerias.

Ever had that feeling you missed something amazing? I visited the “artisan” Cafe Bar Cacao. The first alarm bell that should have rang was the reply “No” to the question “do you have non-dairy milk?”I think to qualify for artisanal status, you have to offer soy milk at the very least. The place was cool looking. The staff did speak wonderful English. The cortado was €1 too. The coffee just wasn’t bursting with flavour. Hey ho, Le Croissant, as of typing, holds the current accolade for best tasting coffee on the trip.

I drank a hot chocolate, an orange juice (freshly pressed, super recommended!) and ate a durum roll. Everything very tasty! The durum roll was inside of aluminium foil and cut in half which makes the risk to eat some of the foil higher if u are not super careful. The women working there were friendly and quick with serving. Also the yogurt sauce inside the durum is super delicious!

Family staff, good beer to choose from, including Alhambra, especially very good food, Serrano ham, sliced , cheese snails, a delicacy. You can see the origin of the current owner, good service and a good place to have something cool or eat. Lighthouses
El Faro is a picturesque location featuring an old lighthouse building alongside a newer, architecturally unremarkable lighthouse. Despite the aging appearance and some litter in the area, the breathtaking views of Tenerife and Teide from this spot make it a popular choice for locals to take leisurely walks. The site offers an ideal vantage point for disconnecting and enjoying the company of friendly people.
Great sunset spot ⛵️🍷

There's not much here to see. The lighthouse is easy to get to and has a decent view out across the sea to Tenerife and El Teide. You can get better views elsewhere though and the area around the lighthouse isn't especially nice or clean.

A pleasant trip if you’re in San Sebastian. The surroundings are rather messy, and the area isn’t particularly beautiful. The lighthouse itself is very nice and has something captivating about it.

City Hall
The Ayuntamiento de San Sebastián de La Gomera is a captivating site that embodies the rich history and cultural heritage of the island. While visiting, you can truly sense the stories woven into its walls, creating an atmospheric experience even on cooler, windier days. The vibrant Carnival celebrations in La Gomera add to this charm, particularly around Playa Santiago and Alajero.
It was a bit cold, wet and windy but you can literally feel the history and heritage coming out of the walls. Very atmospheric

The Archaeological Museum of La Gomera, housed in the mid-18th-century Casa de los Echeverria, offers a fascinating glimpse into the island's rich history. The museum showcases the daily lives, social structures, and religious practices of the Guanches, providing insight into both their ancient civilization and present-day culture. Visitors can explore multiple floors featuring well-presented panels, videos, exhibits, and reproductions with informative texts in Spanish and English.
This is an interesting little museum about the history and culture of La Gomera. Not very big so you can see everything in 30-45 minutes. Worth a visit if you are in San Sebastian

Excellent little museum. Well told story of the original inhabitants of the islands, too often forgotten in favor of brutal conquerors. Well made exhibition, good English texts too. Definitely glad we stopped by!

Small (a bit more than an hour) but very good museum. Really well done panels, video, exhibits and reproductions with good spanish and english texts. Covers a lot of the environment, people and culture incl. the strange whistling of the indigenous people of La Gomera. Obviously the work of very accomplished scientists, photographers, modellers etc. - but highly accessible for everyone. As a nice nerdy supplement you can get copies of their scientic articles by email. Only wish is more info on what was written/decoded of the libyco-berber inscriptions.

Mirador del Parador is a must-visit spot in San Sebastian, offering stunning views of the two beaches and the entire urban center. The atmosphere at Bar Zumería Cuba Libre is delightful, with a pleasant ambiance and continuous music playing. The staff, particularly the ladies who serve customers, are charming and provide quick service. The food served is of good quality and reasonably priced. It's a great spot to relax and observe people while enjoying soft drinks or alcoholic beverages such as caipirinhas. The bar exudes warmth and friendliness, offering excellent customer service.
Visited this bar regularly on our holiday. Didn’t eat but had drinks there. Obviously a place that locals appreciate and with very reasonable prices. Staff are amazing and very welcoming. We bought a book on La Gomera history and customs. When one of the staff saw it she informed us that the author visited regularly. She took the book and returned it to us a few days later, signed and personalised by the author.

Nestled in cliff-top gardens, Parador de La Gomera is a tranquil hotel offering stunning ocean views and an outdoor pool. Located near the beach and within walking distance of local attractions, this upscale Colonial hotel provides recreational amenities such as a sauna and complimentary wireless internet access. Guests can savor regional cuisine at the on-site restaurant with garden views or enjoy room service.
Stunning location, friendly and helpful service. Great cold water pool with sea views. Quiet and relaxing. All the staff were great and welcoming - reception, bar, restaurant and housekeeping. We had a problem with our car and reception contacted a very helpful local garage to sort it out for us. We have stayed in many different Paradores hotels and this was our best overall experience.
Roz M — Google review
Incredible place. Beautiful building. And absolutely warm, professional and generous staff. Can't ask for more. Everyone went beyond: the reception, the cleaners, the waiters. They made the 10 days that we stayed there a glorious time. I hope we can go back. The restaurant was also great. Creative and tasty takes on local cuisine and really good wines. The specials of the day are often worthy. (highlights include the stuffed courgettes, the octopus or the grouper 'cake') Ideally the pool could be open for a bit longer but considering how empty for most of the time I spent there, can see it is something difficult to justify. (The only thing I would change was the other guests tbh. A few rude guests with a level of impatience that was not only unjustified but quite unpleasant to staff and other holiday makers alike.) Thank you
Diogo F — Google review
We stayed one night here for my girlfriends birthday. Orlando’s sweet welcome at the reception really made a difference, we felt so well taken care of. The hotel has a nice vibe, the garden is beautiful, there are plenty of spots to relax and enjoy the view and surroundings.
Linus R — Google review
The hotel is extremely beautiful and the rooms are even so. But it is located on the hill so without a car you would be a bit lost, having to walk up and down the steep streets for every meal or stroll around the city. The pool opens at 11 am to which I consider rather late. The pool is not heated, so depending on the weather quite cold. Especially be careful about whats included in your stay, they told us at the check in but then charged for the very things they told us would be included. No apology for the mix up, nothing.
Teneriffa A — Google review
The reason I gave 4 stars for service is, the reception is amazing but the breakfast staff not very attentive. Besides that this hotel is amazing, quiet, clean , location is top.
Ayser K — Google review
Timeless class and refinement. This stately home has been sympathetically turned into a hotel that embodies the classic hospitality of past time while embracing modernity. The hotel is labyrinthine with period architecture and fittings everywhere. Our room was classy and very comfortable without any unnecessary opulence. Beds are fantastically comfortable. All the quadrangles and liminal spaces are as beautifully curated as the rooms. The gardens are truly beautiful without being intimidating, and invite guests to wander and explore. The views from every corner of the grounds are magnificent. Dinner is served in a fine hall, and shows what very creative chefs can produce using the fresh produce of La Gomera. Not cheap, but this impeccable and creative food should not be. All the staff are smiley and helpful. Downsides ? Very few: no gym. Wi-fi is a bit hit and miss. That's about it. A bastion of peace and class in a crazy world.
Snake D — Google review

Pizza restaurant
Pizzería La Botellita is a charming pizzeria located in the City of Columbus. Despite the lackluster historical attractions in the area, this restaurant stands out for its delicious pizzas and tasty queso with mojo. The service is prompt and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Visitors appreciate the generous portions and the option to dine on a quiet terrace.
We eat vegan and had Papas Arrugadas with Mojo Rojo y Verde and a salad. It was very fresh and tasty. Very friendly waiter. The drinks and food came very quickly. We will come back!
Soy S — Google review
A mixed review of visiting this pizzeria- the pizza was very good - great size, very thin and crispy base and good flavours, around €9 each so ok value. The side salad was very disappointing -lettuce and a couple of tomatoes sprinkled with olives- no dressing and at €6 definitely wasn't worth the price. The beers were good, water was very expensive at almost €2 per bottle ( only small bottles available so costly If there's a few of you). The service was below average and at times we had to wait for service as the staff were sitting in amongst customers eating their own dinner which was quite bizarre.

If this is what they call “the most tasteful pizza on La Gomera,” I’d rather skip pizza. The dough was hard and stone-like. The service was okay but nothing special, as previously mentioned. However, I liked the atmosphere of the place, and the location was great.
Sirle R — Google review
When I came here it was full. It seems like most of the people were locals. Woman who took my order was very nice and helpful. I've ordered a take out and was informed that it'd be ready after 20 mins. I went for a stroll, came back after 20 mins and it was fresh and ready. I wouldn't say that the pizza was terrible, but I'd say it was very average. Especially the dough, felt more like a bread than a pizza if you know what I mean. As I wrote in beginning, it seems to be very popular with locals, so it just might not be my taste.

The charming petite church, perched on a promontory, gives the impression of being in a remote location. The coastal route leading to it can be navigated by car with caution for scattered stones and rocks. The trail skirting the rocky edge poses challenges for walkers, requiring utmost balance and agility as climbing may be necessary at times. There is limited parking available while promoting ample social distancing.
Very nice track from the parking to the church.

(Translated by Google) Small, fine chapel, it's worth it. You should be able to maneuver well on the descent - you can't get through the curves in one go. Drive very carefully and carefully otherwise it will be dangerous. If you like, you can even snorkel there beautifully 🤩 if the weather is right (Original) Kleines feines Chapel es lohnt sich . Man sollte zur Abfahrt gut rangieren können man kommt nicht in einem Zug durch die Kurven . Sehr vorsichtig und bedacht fahren sonst wird es gefährlich. (Translated by Google) Beautiful little church on a headland, it looks like it's in the middle of nowhere. The coastal road there is reasonably passable by car, but you still have to watch out for stones and rocks. The hiking trail along the edge of the rock is difficult to walk and is only suitable for those who are absolutely sure-footed; we had to climb several times! (Original) Wunderschöne kleine Kirche auf einer Landzunge, sie macht den Anschein als stände sie um Nirgendwo. The Estatua de Cristóbal Colón is a significant monument marking the spot where Christopher Columbus made a stop on his voyage to America in 1492. It's located in San Sebastian, known as the Columbian due to Columbus's visits. The statue is easily missed as it's not on a pedestal, but it's worth seeing while waiting for the ferry.

(Translated by Google) Columbus first arrived on the island in 1492 (3 ships). Here the expedition replenished its supplies of drinking water and food. According to legend, an affair occurred between Columbus and the governor of the island, Beatrice (at that time a widow). According to another legend, when Columbus arrived in America, all the water except from the island of La Gomera spoiled, and America was christened with the water of the island. On this occasion, there is an inscription in the governor’s mansion: “Esta agua se había bautizado América” - “America was baptized with this water.” The island is very green and beautiful. Worth a visit.

Nestled in the heart of La Gomera, Breñusca Restaurante is a charming spot that celebrates traditional Canarian cuisine with an authentic touch. The menu features delightful homemade dishes like Almogrote and Mojos, which are highly praised by visitors. The friendly owner, hailing from Gomera herself, adds a personal flair to each meal, ensuring every dish is crafted with care.
Fabulous small restaurant, with friendly service and a good menu selection. I had a half chicken which was broiled perfectly, and my bride had her favorite Spanish dish- paella. Both had good flavor, and were seasoned to perfection. Next time we're back on La Gomera, this is another must-revisit.

Delicious, honest, traditional Canarian food. The recommend their homemade Almogrote and Mojos and they were the best we have ever tried. The lady in the kitchen who is from Gomera, served our fish order and we had a chance to chat to her about the personal touch she gives to her dishes. You will enjoy anything you order here

The food was excellent, but they continued making me responsable for making a mess in the toilet, which i could have done it once, but i took the necessary steps to not happen again. Anyway, they continue to blame me on and on... I didn't accept the responsability twice and, in. any case, i even told the staff that i will clean the toilet after I used it. Could not have been someone else to blame ? Why always me ? It couldn't be a problem of the toilet ? They forced me to quit going back to a good restaurant where i can't use the toilet. They lost a good and long-term client. Hope they've learned the lesson. <<The client is always right>>, they taughted when i was in the university at Miami, USA . Customer service is very important to have customer's loyalty + word of mouth. Bye, bye, & good luck in the future. Hope you've learned the lesson.

Cafetería Don Tapeo is a delightful spot in San Sebastián de La Gomera, perfect for those seeking a quick yet satisfying meal. With an extensive menu featuring Venezuelan favorites like arepas and cachapas, there's something for everyone. The generous portions ensure you won't leave hungry, especially with the delicious carne fiesta and flavorful sauces that accompany your dishes. The friendly service adds to the welcoming atmosphere, whether you're dining inside or enjoying the terrace.
Actually Arepas aren't my first choice to eat, but this ones are really really good and highly recommended. They 're thinner than the ones I've had before and therefore super crunchy and not that heavy. Try Carne Mechado con Queso and the Huevo con Tomate y Cebolla. Delicious!

The passion fruit juice is unsweetened and therefore lacks some flavor but it is super delicious. When I was there, we were served by a man who was alone in the entire restaurant... so I can't give 5 stars to that aspect (note, the service was good, but the man had a lot of work alone) (Original) Pedimos cachapa y está bastante buena. You come here when you want to eat with local people and taste typical local food. This restaurant is simply and absolutely great for eating the best local food at or on La Gomera. What they serve is fresh (meat or fish) and otherwise they do not serve it. During our stay for 15 nights at or on La Gomera we came here tree times. Absolutely a recommendation.

In my opinion, this is the best restaurant on the island. Friendly staff, and the food, well.. outstanding! The best "bistec de cerdo" and a very tasty "atun a la plancha" I had the pleasure to eat in quite some time. Portions are well above average, big some might say..
