The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is a tourist attraction that offers scenic rides and a museum of railroad machinery. The railroad was built in the late 1990s to honor and share personal memories of how railroads shaped the nation. The tracks run through the San Juan National Forest, offering spectacular views to passengers on board. The locomotive used in this route is from the 1880s and has not been changed.
Great trip. First 1/2 of trip has the most dramatic views of the right side with 400' drops over the river. September tree colors were great. Seeing it ìn March there was snow and that was our favorite trip. Only got to go 1/2 waybecause of snow but it was the best and less expensive. Silverton is a fun little town.

Great way to visit Silverton and see gorgeous mountain scenery along the way. I took the "gondola car" (both directions) and it suited me nicely. The outward-facing bench seat means _every_ seat is a window seat (vs. in the enclosed cars, where not everyone gets to be by a window). Downsides of being out of the enclosed cars: weather (hot, cold, or otherwise) and exhaust fumes. If you can handle those things then you might as well get the full experience. But you still have access to concessions and to the restroom like everyone else. It is a long ride, with a few hours in Silverton, so if you ride the train both ways be prepared for a full day. For a family with smaller children, the train up and bus back might be a better option just to shorten the duration. Photographers: you don't have much time to compose and shoot, so you kind of have to anticipate things coming up. Ask a conductor, they're really helpful and knowledgable at where your best shots might happen. Your wide angle lens maybe has a better chance; you can miss by a little and fix it later with a crop.

This was a great experience, the views were incredible. I highly recommend the Night Sky car it has a glass roof that allows you to see the grandeur of the mountains as you go through the narrow passes. It also has complementary beverages and a snack, adult beverages are available. There's also a First Class attendant to serve you and provide information about the ride. Sean was our attendant and was great.

Hi, everyone! Whenever you come to Durango please Do visit this historical museum. The entrance is free and there is also a souvenir shop in the entrance. I highly recommend this place. You will have a memorable time, I assure that. Until then take care and God bless.

Durango is a beautiful town with lots of shops and eatery. The area around the train station is really nice. The hotels are a little pricey but you're on vacation so enjoy. The train ride to Silverton is breath taking. Worth every penny. I would do it again. The quaint town of Silverton embedded in the valley of the surrounding mountains is a must see. Yes I would definitely visit again.
Darlene M — Google review
WOW what an awesome experience! Gorgeous views, excellent service, a trip back to the 19th century! Since there are plenty of rail to Silverton pics, the attached are from the yard tour - superbly professional guide, a master of the topic! If you're a steam propulsion buff...this tour is for you!
Johnny W — Google review
The scenery! The smells. Fresh air. Beautiful creatures. Waterfalls. Pack a lunch. The train food is limited and expensive. Good for a cup of coffee (and the train coffee is good) or a bag of crisps. Lovely people work on the train. Hope I can return.
Julie T — Google review
One of a kind experience. We sat in an open air gondola. Which I highly recommend. Most people recommend one side over the other but in the open air car you can move around pretty easy so it does not really matter. The seats are padded very nicely and they sell blankets on the concession cart if you get too cold.

Restaurant
Lone Spur Cafe is an American restaurant in Durango, Colorado that is known for its Western theme and cowboy-themed decor. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch as well as Friday and Saturday night special dinners of Prime Rib.
Menu pics are from Feb. 24, 2023. What a great first impression of Durango. The decor is southwestern (as is fitting.) Everything was clean, well-lit, and welcoming. The radio plays older country and ignores today's pop-country tragedy. The most contemporary thing I heard was 90's Garth Brooks. The music is audible but does not force you to yell to be heard. The service was excellent. Our drinks stayed filled and we were checked on but she was not overbearing at all. The pricing is very fair, almost nostalgic. Two people had two full meals with coffee and it came out to about $32. The owner (who also waits tables) was politely conversational but not annoying. The food was the best part. We got a Sirloin with eggs and potatoes and it was cooked perfectly rare and did not need any kind of sauce or other assistance. Everything was hot and tasted fresh. It was obviously not sitting under a heat lamp. I'm stuffed and happy. There is a food coma in my future, all thanks to The Lone Spur Cafe. Try 'em out.

We all had something different. Nothing was amazing but it was all good. One of the teens ordered the wagon wheel pancake, be prepared for a BIG pancake. Almost bigger than his plate. Two in our group had country fried steak with biscuits and gravy as their side, they both said it was decent. The hash for the hash and eggs was your basic canned hash. Well made classic breakfast.
Melissa D — Google review
Fun Wild West atmosphere in a down town restaurant. Food was good, not great but good. We also didn’t order the local favorites and we should have for a proper review. What we ordered was pretty basic and underwhelming. Coffee was rough but did the trick! We loved the hot chocolate.
Ashley W — Google review
The cafe was very homey, much like being in a log cabin. The place was very clean which they also had a 5 star rating for being very clean! The food was fantastic and extremely flavorful. The only upsetting thing was how long waiting was, after we had order it took quite a while to get the food to us. Our waitress may have been having a bad day but she went from super nice and friendly to snappy and grumpy. Otherwise, the place was great!
Rebecca M — Google review
The food here is amazing. This place was recommended to us from a friend, so we decided to try it and the food here is excellent! Prices were also very reasonable and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They have a lot to choose from for food. I had the steak and eggs and the steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. We also ordered the waffles w/sausage and scrambled egg and I have to say it was very good. The waffle was especially good, it was light and didn't weight my stomach down but definately satisfied it. The restaurant is located downtown and visible if you are driving. Parking gets a little tricky only because it's in the heart of downtown district but well worth the walk if needed. Stop on by and give this place a try! If you read my review please hit the like button. Thank you and enjoy!

My family and I came to Durango on vacation with some close friends. We found this place by accident. I'm glad we did, the food was great. Our waiter was awesome. We plan to come back before we leave.

Great breakfast diner style food! Highly recommend. Great service and lots of space to relax. I enjoy the "other" local diner usually when I visit but now that I've tried Lone Spur I'll definitely add them to my rotation!

Pretty great food. My server Mike was fantastic, literally running to take care of people. I believe I got the cowboy scramble (?), super duper good. A bit pricey but I’m learning that Colorado likes to do that. Biscuit and gravy was 😫 so good!!

Restaurant
The Diamond Belle Saloon, situated in Durango, Colorado within the Strater Hotel, offers a warm and inviting Old West-style setting where patrons can enjoy American cuisine and classic cocktails. This renowned establishment is famous for its ragtime piano bar and hosts top-notch ragtime entertainers. The saloon's ambiance is enhanced by costumed dance hall girls and bartenders who transport visitors back to the turn of the century.
Highlight of my trip. The bartenders were nice enough to grab me a beer even though they were relieved at 10 rather than 11 for Mother’s Day. I’ve always wanted to check this place out and they went above and beyond to teach me the history of the Strater.

“The work is the curse of the drinking classes.” On the corner of Main Avenue and W 7th, it has high ceilings, live music, dressed up female severs. My Beretta Pinot is yummy, so is the veggie quesadilla.
Irene E — Google review
Fun and mostly enjoyable atmosphere offering an old west themed interior, combined with a piano player extraordinaire! Lonesome Dove meets Durango. The restaurant, well located in old town Durango, was nearly at full capacity, however a table in close proximity to the piano, was found within a short few minutes. This very skilled piano player aka the piano man, was the heart and soul of our evening. He was knowledgeable and accomplished, playing a wide variety of favorites, spanning several decades, while also accepting requests. For dinner, the hotel-themed burger w/ fries and a local craft beer was ordered, while my wife ordered the Cobb salad with a glass of Chardonnay. Decent meals w/ decent pricing. The only criticism involves our often forgetful waitress. Three times she had to be reminded of our simple request for a straw for our glasses of water. Most restaurants where we have dined instruct the waitstaff to carry straws with them, but apparently not here! Strangely inefficient! Even worse however was completely forgetting the strawberry ice cream we’d ordered for dessert. Reason, this particular blonde-haired waitress apparently does not consider the importance of taking the time needed to write down the order. This management failure is always a major warning sign to me. Come on ownership - instruct your wait staff to write or key the orders table-side and not to rely on an inefficient memory! Seems intuitive and yet a very basic fundamental when operating a restaurant. Order accuracy + food quality = happy customer. Kitchen confidential, I wondered how the renowned chef and food critic Anthony Bourdain might have opined. We were majorly disappointed by our waitress’ inattentiveness to our order, Will we return? Yes!
John B — Google review
We really enjoyed our meal. The meatloaf filled half the plate! It was delicious. The atmosphere was charming, the service was excellent and extremely friendly. I know it seems silly but they made the best homemade ranch dressing, I now will never use bottled ranch again. Check them out for a great meal and some fun.

I’ve always loved visiting the Diamond Belle Saloon — the atmosphere is wonderful, the food is always great, but most importantly, it’s the people like Erik Rios who truly make the experience special. He’s not only an excellent bartender but also someone who brings warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality to every guest he serves. It was very disappointing to hear that he’s no longer there — the place simply isn’t the same without him. I truly hope management considers bringing Erik back, as his presence made such a positive difference and kept so many of us coming back time and again.
Silvia R — Google review
Old West vibe. The restaurant is connected to the old hotel and the staff is dressed like saloon girls and gentlemen. The menu is pretty limited. We had the pot pie and meatloaf. It was fresh and you could tell. Like they cooked it just for us even we got there. The place is a little small and we meter parked but for free. The Strater motel looks like it would be a fun place to stay.

I love to make a pit stop here when walking historic downtown Durango. They have good customer service and the girls are dressed like in the old Wild West.

Fired Up Pizzeria is a cozy urban eatery known for its wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas and sandwiches. Recently relocated next door to make way for its new neighbor, Mountain Taco, the restaurant now offers a seasonal rooftop patio with stunning views of Main Avenue. The handcrafted pizzas are made with specialty imported ingredients and cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven, ensuring delicious flavors.
This is the best pizza I ever had in my life and I am a senior citizen. Service was great - waitress was friendly and patient since they had so many yummy options and once decided, food was delivered quickly. I would frequent this place regularly if I didn't live a couple thousand miles away as I am traveling cross country.

Great spot for pizza downtown. Appetizers (stuffed mushrooms) were delicious and appropriately portioned. Pizza had charring typical of wood fired pizza. Kids loved their pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Would recommend for dine in, not carry out. This style of pizza deserves to be eaten fresh.

This place is a must stop in Durango, it's right in the middle of shopping in their downtown area. Emma was our server and she was so sweet and attentive! The pizza is hand tossed in the window and made fresh!

Fabulous.. we got the artichoke and other veggies.. the crust was great.. the 10 in was plenty big enough for three, with leftovers.. had small salad with citrus dressing. The salad was fresh and we loved the citrus dressing. Yum.

Hi everyone! We were visiting Durango so we thought of trying this place and ended up buying a pizza. Please Do try if you guys visit this place. Thanks and God bless us all...

I've been in a couple times now - it's alright. Not a bad spot overall, and they've got some Colorado beers on tap which is nice. Not a huge variety but some good options. The pizzas look a little better than they are. Like they're not bad, but just feels like there's something a little lacking with overall flavor. Can't put my finger on if it's the dough or sauce or what. It can take a surprising amount of time to get your order, considering how fast these are to cook. Wouldn't go out of my way for it, but worth a shout if you're in the area and in the mood.

His staff were awesome as well. We will be back again!!!

Kina was our guide on 6-17-25 afternoon trip. She was great, gave clear instructions and was fun and knowledgeable. The Animas River water was cold but most of us had wet suits which you can rent for $10 and nobody complained. It's a short 10 minute bus ride to the put in and from the take out. There was one class 3 rapid that was exciting. Im 69 and my husband 70. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and highly recommend if you're in Durango.

My family and I went white water rafting for the first time this past Monday with Mountain Waters Rafting, and we had an absolutely incredible time! From the moment we checked in, the customer service was outstanding. The staff was super friendly and efficient in getting us set up with helmets and water shoes, making sure everyone was comfortable and ready to go. Our family ended up split into two rafts—one with Hannah and the other with Shea—and both guides were amazing! They were fun, knowledgeable, and kept the energy high throughout the whole trip. We laughed a lot, felt totally safe, and genuinely had a blast. This was such a memorable experience for all of us, and we’re already looking forward to coming back for another adventure. Highly recommend Mountain Waters Rafting to anyone looking for a fun and exciting outdoor activity!

The Office Spiritorium, located within the historic Strater Hotel on Main Avenue, is a Victorian-style bar that offers an inviting and elegant atmosphere for locals and visitors to enjoy. It's a popular spot for happy hour and live entertainment, with an indulgent menu featuring cocktails like the Embezzlement, made with coffee and Bailey's. Alongside The Diamond Belle Saloon and The Mahogany Grill, this restaurant serves exquisite international cuisine in beautiful turn-of-the-century surroundings.
Ryan, my son, and I wanted to hear some good music and sample the local fare. We hit a home run tonight. Sean O’Brien was strumming his guitar and showcasing his arrangements of some of my favorites. Also got to meet his partner, Steve, who was in the audience. Steve & Sean perform together in the band, Horseshirt. Gotta be careful with that second “r”. Now for the food & service. Ryan had the Lamb Meatballs. He raved about the cream sauce & wished he had a slice of bread to sop up every last drop. He shared 2 of the meatballs and they were delicious. If a classically trained chef raves about something, it has to be special. A wedge salad is one of my favorites. This one met my expectations. It was refreshing, flavorful & satisfying. Both the bartender, who is from Columbia, and the server were attentive, friendly, informative and interesting to visit with.

Great cocktail bar and restaurant in the historic Strater Hotel in Downtown Durango. We went on a Saturday night and they had a guitar player playing great music. Our group ordered several cocktails and entrees - a vegetable pasta, stuffed acorn squash, Chile rilleno, and Mahi mahi, and everything was super tasty. The wait staff was super friendly and accommodating too. Highly recommended

I spotted this Spiritorium the first time we drove downtown and I was intrigued. I was destined to go here during our 9-day stay and I am so happy we made it. *smiles* I love, love, love the intimate atmosphere. During our visit, the guitarist was looping Johnny Cash and I was in heaven. the fireplace was next to us, we had a great window seat and our server was a gem of a delight. I ordered a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and I was impressed. Buzzed and impressed. I wish we would have nibbled on an appetizer since the reviews favor the food just as much as the cocktails.

Horrible costumer service i wished she’d been more respectful I don’t want to go back to that store.

Perbacco Cucina Italiana saved me and my family after an afternoon/evening run on the D&SNG Highline Route. The train ride started out very hot and miserable and my two year wanted nothing but to be off that train. Once we got some speed up, he settled and slept. Mom and older brother were not much happier. After arriving back in Durango at 8:10 pm, we had a 2 hour druve ahead of us to Telluride/Mountain Village. I told my wife that we only had a few options for dinner since everything at Mountsin Village would be closed by the time we arrived. We could pick up McDonald’s or other fast food and head out or sit down to dinner in Durango before it got too late. After stepping out of the train station, there was Perbacco like an oasis in the desert. It was unassuming from the outside and we stepped cautiously in. Stepping to the hostess stand we were told it would likely be a 25-minute wait. Then in from heaven drops, Kim, the owner and she miraculously finds the perfect table for my worn out family. Teegan, another angel from heaven got us quickly filled with water and a tray of focaccia bread for the two year old to start with. We were advised that our waiter was Mauro, authentically Italian from head to toe. He took our drink orders and we went ahead with the starters and main courses not to waste time and fill our hungry bellies. The salads were so fresh and delicious and the mains did not disappoint. My fillet al fungi was expertly cooked and very tender. Everyone enjoyed the food and the experience very much. Our tough afternoon turned into an evening delight. We got a beautiful dessert to go and left with big smiles all around. NB We were also introduced to Massimo, the chef, the other owner, husband of Kim and brother of Mauro. This fine restaurant is authentically Italian. If you are in Durango, don’t miss it. If you are departing from the Durango and Silverton train, make a reservation for 15 minutes after your return time. You will NOT be disappointed. Grazie mille Kim, Massimo, Mauro and Teegan.

The Parmigiana di Melanzane was flavorful and decent—though I personally prefer the eggplant a bit crispier. The penne with marinara sauce was nicely done. The white sauce pasta, however, had a sharpness that was a bit overpowering for our taste. One small letdown: they were out of crème brûlée, and I wish that had been mentioned before ordering. Overall, the ambiance was nice, and the experience was good as well.

Perbacco was one of the best meals we had while in Durango for a wedding. The space inside was large and well decorated with Italian flare. There was a bar area and outdoor seating as well. The service we received throughout was phenomenal with great suggestions. The food we received ranged from good to outstanding, with my lemon chicken being a particular standout. Drink options were also well varied and tasty.

UPDATE: after a dining mishap a few nights ago, Perbacco went above and beyond to have us back in for dinner and it was simply outstanding in every way!! Could not have asked for a better evening or better food. When in Durango - this needs to be your # 1 go to for dining! We will be back:) Thank you to everyone in this fine eating establishment. You truly are the BEST!

The service and atmosphere were both nice—no complaints there. However, we felt the food didn’t quite match the price point. I had the ribeye with potatoes and broccoli, which was around $60, and unfortunately, the steak was a bit underseasoned for my taste. My wife tried the pasta, but it wasn’t as tender as expected, and she didn’t enjoy it. We know reviews can be hit or miss, but this visit ended up being a miss for us. Hopefully others have a better experience!

The best dining experience in Durango! I live in Durango, and my mom was visiting from out of town and wanted to take my boyfriend and I somewhere nice to eat. This restaurant was beyond that! The food was incredible! From start to finish every dish was delicious- starting with free bread that I could've had as my full meal (it was that good), going on to savory meatballs, then pasta dishes with delicious mushrooms and truffles sauces, and ending with decadent creme brulee and cheesecake. We also had the pleasure of meeting Max, the owner, who was so welcoming and incredibly kind. He gave us some free after dinner cordials on our way out which made me feel like I was back in Italy! Located right next to the train, the location was a fun tucked in spot that's in downtown without being in the middle of all the buzz. Being right next to the train was super cool as well, as it felt like a bit of a step back in time. An incredible time all around! I'll be back and I definitely recommend this spot for locals and tourists alike!

Fine dining restaurant
Seasons of Durango is a modern American restaurant located in a warm, brick-walled bistro. The eatery emphasizes local sourcing and offers a variety of dining options, from casual spots like Steamworks Brewing Company to upscale places like Ken & Sue and Ore House. Additionally, the 11th Street Station provides a collective eatery experience with live music.
Such a cozy spot that's homey yet elevated! The staff are all so sweet and make you feel taken care of. Valen was so attentive and fun to have as our server. Absolutely devoured every item. We especially loved the Dover sole, Chilean sea bass, bone in filet mignon, and the wines we had were all crisp to perfection. All of the meats were juicy and well seasoned. Also loved the taco specials, so much flavor. The appetizers are all perfect crafted. Fave dessert were the lime and berry tarts, fruit was clearly carefully picked ;)

Wonderful experience dining at Seasons. Atmosphere was amazing, service was top notch (shoutout Valen for being a darling), and food was unbelievably delicious. My favorites were the calamari (so crispy and tender you HAVE to try) and the Chilean sea bass. Vegetables were so well seasoned and the dessert was to die for. A perfect dining experience; I can’t wait to come back!

We enjoyed 3 different meals during our stay! I recommend the Chilean sea bass and Caesar salad!! If you drink the Hugo Spritz is lovely with the bass. The best dessert ever is the budino!😋Ask for Roxie; she is outstanding!

Visited July 5, 2025 (second visit) We wrapped up our vacation with a return visit to Seasons of Durango...because when a place leaves that good of an impression, you go back. The ambiance and vibe were just as lovely the second time around, and the team was every bit as warm and welcoming. Now, let’s be real...every restaurant has a night where a few hiccups happen. But what really matters is how they handle it. And Roxie? Absolute rock star. She was our hostess last week and our waitress tonight, and wow… talk about someone who gets hospitality. She handled everything with grace, humor, and professionalism. Her goal was clearly to make sure we left smiling, and we absolutely did. Dinner highlights? My girlfriend’s husband had the Ahi Tuna special—his often go-to—and declared it spectacular. My husband and I had the filet mignon, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and just what we were craving. But the surprise winner? That spinach salad. If you love spinach—or even if you think you don’t—get the salad. It’s loaded with crispy bacon (like, a lot), hard-boiled eggs, mushrooms, creamy avocado, and a bold grain mustard vinaigrette. Every bite was a flavor bomb. And yep, we splurged on dessert and no regrets. The Salted Caramel Budino was a dreamy combo of creamy pudding, rich caramel sauce, and crunchy cookie crumbles. Salty, sweet, soft, crunchy… total dessert magic. Thank you, Roxie, for turning a slightly off night into a really memorable one. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town! Visited on June 26, 2025 Our first night in Durango, and our first night of vacation, and what a way to kick things off! We booked a table for Seasons of Durango several weeks ahead of our trip and after a long day of traveling, we were a little tired, a little hungry, and completely ready for something special. And Seasons delivered. Every. Single. Thing. Let’s start with Roxy, the hostess with the mostest! Roxy is so fashionable, warm, and a total pro. She had us smiling and chatting before we even sat down. Thank you Roxy for making us smile and kicking off our vacation in style! And then there’s Alec behind the bar! Alec is truly a mixologist, or maybe he's a magician, whatever you want to call him, he is a winner! The guys ordered Oaxaca Old Fashioneds and were practically speechless. Made with Mi Campo Reposado Tequila, Mezcal, bitters, agave nectar, and orange… they were bold, smooth, and smoky in all the right ways. The only note? They both would have loved a muddled dark cherry, but even without it, they ordered a second round without hesitation. That says everything. and I mean everything since these guys are so picky when it comes to Oaxacas! So a huge thank you to Alec who totally made their entire night! You rock! And yes, no judging please sir, if we happen to stop back back on our way back home from vacation as we travel through Durango! it's been 7 days and the guys are still talking about your drinks! The girls went for the lemon drop martinis, and wow, yes please and thank you! The lemon drops were perfectly chilled and had that just-right tartness with a sweet little kiss at the end. Winner! For food, the guys went big with the 14 oz bone-in filet. Tender, juicy, and seasoned like someone in the kitchen really cares. They tried all the sauces...chimichurri, jalapeño butter, fresh horseradish, and béarnais...and honestly, it was like a flavor masterclass. They couldn’t decide which was best because each bite was better than the last. Happy first night of vacation! The girls took a different path and said hello, Chilean sea bass with beurre blanc! The pop of lemon creaminess in every bite was truly spectacular! Angelique K., our phenomenal waitress, made the recommendation and nailed it. Funny, knowledgeable, and fast on her feet, she totally matched our energy and made the whole evening even more fun. Start to finish, this place impressed. We’ll absolutely be back next time we’re in Durango and you better believe we’re booking ahead. Thank you Seasons of Durango! Home run!

I walked in towards the end of the night. I was welcomed all the same. Food was delicious, and the Justin's house-made cinnamon cocktail is an awesome improvement that more than challenges the original.

Went there last night for our anniversary. The server was very nice and attentive. We had drinks and they were delicious. I got the NY Strip steak and it was cooked perfectly but just didn't seem to have any seasonings on it. Nice piece of meat, cooked to perfection but no flavor. Ordered the truffle fries and got plain fries. We also ordered the half chicken which was incredibly dry. Very over cooked and the skin was really crispy and almost burnt. The vegetables that came with it were good. Bill was $257 with a 20% gratuity. It still was a nice night and might give it another try when we come back to town in December.

This is our favorite restaurant in Durango. Our server Roxy really made our daughter’s birthday a special occasion! The steak was amazing and cooked perfect and my husband’s bone in pork chop was phenomenal! Definitely have to try the chocolate budino! Amazing

I had an absolutely fantastic first experience at the restaurant that truly left a lasting impression. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. Our waitress, Shelby, went above and beyond—her attentiveness to both my wife and me was flawless, and she Maintained a warm, friendly attitude throughout our visit. The food was simply outstanding. As a Cajun chef myself, I couldn’t resist trying their chicken and sausage jambalaya soup, and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly seasoned, with a vibrant mix of spices, hearty sausage, and fresh vegetables that truly highlighted the dish’s bold flavors. cheeseburger with fries, nachos, and both a non-alcoholic beverage and a craft beer, all of which met my expectations. Overall, I highly recommend this establishment to visitors in Durango. It is worth experiencing, especially given its multiple television screens suitable for watching sporting events. I rate this restaurant a perfect 10 out of 10.

This an enjoyable venue with great food. We were offered the option of sitting out back in an open air deck with a roof. Or inside. Jason, or server was quick to take our order and returned regularly to address our needs and top-off our drinks. I had the Cajun Cavatappi Pasta, and my friend had their wings. They were the biggest tastiest smoked wings either of us had eaten. The pasta was amazing. You're crazy if you don't try this place! YUMMY👍👏

Outstanding meal. Every single item we ordered was delicious. The waitress recommended anything steak or carne asada. She was spot on. You know the food is going to be amazing when the salsa doesn’t taste canned and is spicy and the chips are freshly warm. My favorite part was how they aren’t stingy with adding a lot in their plates! And lastly that dessert was AMAZING. Definitely stop by here for some good Mexican food.

So delicious! I had the Cajun Cure with overeasy eggs. The flavors were incredible – mildly spicy – especially the green chili. Could definitely have gone for more potatoes. I was tempted to order another round! Coffee fill-ups were initially pretty sparse, but picked up over time. Not cheap, but probably on par with other downtown Durango restaurants.

Old old diner...only a few tables but mostly stools at a bar down the length of the place. Be prepared to wait for your food, however when it comes it is hot and fresh. Spouse had "the sirloin cure" with both country and green chili gravy. Sirloin tips served over a pile of hashbrowns with 2 eggs on top and covered with the gravy (your choice of gravy or both]. I had the bacon, egg, cheese on a toasted English muffin was tasty. Improvements would be fountain Coke products, and a revamping of the whole place to make it roomier and more efficient for servers and guests when they get busy.

Super cute inside, aesthetic built in its character and charm, AMAZING service and we LOVED seeing breakfast cooked right in front of everyone! Five stars all the way for El Moro - great food, great atmosphere, great service. Highlight of visiting El More is the charcuterie - so many meat and cheese choices it's hard to choose. So I didn't. Although it’s a tavern, the food is surprisingly good. Pictures in reviews for this restaurant is rather outdated, but the quality seems to live up to its ratings. We ordered El Moro Burger (4.5/5) and Duck Confit (5/5) for brunch. Note that the Duck Confit here is different from the usual French one people knows, but the meat is cooked to perfection paired with an amazing sauce.

Awesome place. The staff was nice and friendly. I went about 45 minutes before closing. I was able to order, eat my meal and have dessert all before close. The burger was thick and juicy. It hit the spot. Also the French fries we thin and crispy, they were really done well. The desert was pictured in another review and I had to try it. This place I will have to visit again when I return to the area.

We split the El Moro Burger and fries and we asked for the burger to be cooked medium. The burger was a little undercooked. The burger was seasoned nicely. The fries were done well ahead of the burger and they were barely lukewarm. We received excellent service from the two young gals working the tables in the bar area. We walked 4 blocks from our hotel to the restaurant. I didn’t see their own parking lot. Note: 1. They automatically add a 20% tip to the bill. We almost always tip 20% for descent service. The servers missed out on a higher tip because I was taken back by their policy. 2. I ordered a Sprite and got a refill. I was not told there is no free refills and I did not see this on the menu. I was charge $8 for two Sprites. This added to me not leaving a larger tip. The servers lose out because of questionable policies. 3. I evaluated the food, service and atmosphere on their own merits and these issues did not impact the rating I gave.

Will not return: they bait-and-switch, and dirty wine glasses. … continue our wine bar hopping. I liked their exposed brick wall, so put this one on hit list. Their Happy hour is 5-6 but oyster runs out by 5:30. Friday, it was empty when we arrived. A short man with eye glasses in the front asked if we’ve a reservation. We didn’t. We were seated immediately. I like curved forks. Their reds are good but the Riedel glasses could use some polish, especially the rim - I've seen many bars use towel to polish their glasses. The tuna poke is wonderful - love the celery.

Orion our waiter was awesome and James the manager was nice. Our food was fabulous. Love the scallops, pork belly, and my ceaser salad with glass potato and we ordered the anchovies because I like the dark anchovies. I really can’t remember the history of this building, but the brick was fabulous. You can even see the outlines of where the old window used to be. They had a great deck upstair, plenty of seats with some Misters. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Loved the food. Fresh herbs, flowers, local meat and cheese all expertly prepared. Our waiter was on-it! He carried our special diet preference forward throughout the meal without needing to be asked as we ordered additional items. Roof top seating is a delight!

Unbelievably delicious and great service by Orion. A lovely gentleman, who put a cheese platter together for my husband. Everything was delicious: highly recommend pork belly & scallop salad. Beet salad and duck !

For the price, overall average experience. Feels like it’s trying to be upscale but just missing the mark. Italian wine (Nero?) 3/5. Caesar salad, 2/5, really they should just drop it from the menu. Lobster burger 4/5, tiny bit of lobster but given it probably comes from 1000+ miles away, not bad. Price overall for quality 3/5. I think they could get 4+/5 if they’d just tidy up their menu selections.

Went for a birthday. Great food, service and location. Loved sitting outside (upstairs)

There were 3 of us celebrating a special occasion so we picked Eolus based on the reviews. The atmosphere was a fit - subdued lighting, soft background and comfortable spacing between tables. Service was very attentive - fast and checked in frequently. I gave 2 stars because they lack the training for working in a $125+/person restaurant. In a place like Eolus I expect the servers to be able to watch us, know when we need something and then approach the table. Being interrupted mid-conversation multiple times to see if we are," doing okay", is expected at Red Robin but not in an upscale place like this. To be clear, I am not faulting the servers because they were doing an excellent job based on the training they'd been given. I just think management needs to spend a little more time in some high-end restaurants around the country and then come back to train the staff. Or better yet, take the staff on a field trip to try 4 star restaurants in Las Vegas or New York!! I'm sure they'd love it 🙂 The food was uneven. The duck was a hit but my black cod, although cooked perfectly, was a bland disappointment. I don't remember the third dinner...and that speaks for itself. In short, this place has potential and I am willing to go back and try it again a year from now.

First visit! Greatly enjoyed the service, atmosphere & FOOD!!! Started with Mo-Mo steamed dumplings- the chicken was well-seasoned and the momo sauce tasted great with them. The Lunch Special had a good variety of flavors to try. Everything tasted fresh with the perfect amount of spice. Combo Lunch (Non-vegetarian) Chicken Curry | Vegetable Curry | Saag | Cucumber Salad | Rice | Naan | Gulab Jamun Mo-Mo Popular in Tibet & Nepal, ten tender steamed chicken dumplings served with our signature momo sauce. Plan to visit again! Namaste!

This was my favourite restaurant that I ate at in durango. Food was great and portions were good. Very enjoyable! Staff was also very nice

We came here on a recommendation from a tour guide. When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly quiet with not much dine-in activity, though we did notice a steady stream of takeout orders being picked up. We ordered the Chicken Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan. It took over 50 minutes for our food to arrive. Our waiter was kind and patient, explaining that the kitchen was very busy with takeout orders, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite make up for the long wait. The Chicken Tikka Masala was quite bland—echoing some of the earlier reviews I’d read, to which the owner had promised improvements. The chicken itself was overcooked breast meat. The Chicken Saag, on the other hand, was flavorful and easily the highlight of the meal. The “Garlic Naan” we ordered turned out to be plain naan that wasn’t very fresh, with slightly stale edges. Perhaps we just caught them on an off night. The warm, cozy decor and friendly service were definite positives, and the restaurant seems popular with locals. I’d consider giving it another chance, but this visit left me underwhelmed.

We wanted something authentic and got it. We stayed with the Samosas and wished there were more. An informative discussion about the menu options with our server helped us narrow it down to the Yak and Salmon. It was our first exposure to yak and, while a little dry, found it wonderfully earthy, similar to lamb (my favorite) and packed with unique flavors. We washed it all down with a bottle of wine and tipped like we are rich. Thank you for a great dinner!

Himalayan kitchen is our FAVORITE restaurant in all of Durango! My daughter is 4 and is obsessed with their tofu. They make it a kids size portion for her as well which is perfect. Staff is very friendly and kind and the service is just excellent. Prices are great, food is amazing.

Food and ambience were great. Hearty portions after a long day! We sat outside and had a view of the mountains and the restaurant is located on Main Street so you can enjoy a stroll before or after. The servers were so kind and patient. We got a Nepalese dhal bhaat (a mini buffet including a dessert), a noodle dish and chicken tikka masala. The noodle dish and the bhaat was a little spicy which we loved and the tikka masala was not spicy. We also got a mixed grill which was a good size portion and a mojito which was delicious. Prices were not too bad either.

Order at the counter. Casual atmosphere. We enjoyed sitting outside on their covered patio. The Green Chile Jack burger has great flavor with just enjoy spice. Prefer grass-fed beef so that is a plus here. Crispy sweet potato fries dipped in green chile ranch were great as well.

🍔 🍺 Grassburger in downtown Durango offers yummy burgers in a fast casual dining setting. We had the bacon cheddar and the green chili jack burger, both great. 🐶 🐾 They are super dog friendly including both indoor and out. Recommend the patio on a beautiful afternoon. Cheers!

Grassburger Downtown Durango Colorado Absolutely amazing experience at Grassburger in Durango! The food was fresh, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients you can actually taste. Their grass-fed beef burgers are on another level – juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. The sweet potato fries were crisp and delicious, and the gluten-free options made it easy for everyone in our group to find something they loved. The service was fast and friendly, and the staff genuinely seemed to care about the customer experience. The atmosphere was clean, casual, and perfect for a quick bite or relaxed meal. We’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in town. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great burger with sustainable, wholesome ingredients!

This place has BOMB burgers!! Loved them so much. The fries are OK! The sauce was bomb though so it made them better. They only have local soda. Wasn’t the biggest fan but still it was cool. Dog friendly!

Came here for a quick burger fix. Didn’t expect the burgers to be as good as they were. Had the mushroom Swiss and my buddy had the green chile. We were super hungry so the extra patty for 3 bucks was definitely worth it. Shoestring fries were crisp and tasty.
Jim H — Google review
This burger was next level! Juicy, perfectly cooked, and absolutely packed with flavor — but the real MVP? Those fire-roasted green chilis. They added just the right amount of heat and smoky depth that made each bite unforgettable. The melted cheese tied it all together beautifully under that soft, golden bun. The fries were hot, crispy, and seasoned to perfection — ideal for dunking into that creamy dipping sauce on the side. Paired with a cold drink and a laid-back vibe, this meal hit every mark. If you’re a fan of bold flavors and love a little green chili kick, do not sleep on this burger. 🔥🍔🍟🌶️

The hatch green chili burger is awesome. Kids burger was great, the meat is fresh and perfectly cooked. After a weekend of Aramark burgers at Mesa Verde, this was the massive upgrade I needed. The fries were mid, but the burger was so good, I can’t go down from 5 stars.

The Red Snapper is a well-established restaurant in Durango, known for its seafood, steak, and pasta dishes. It has been voted as the top dining spot in the area for over 27 years. The restaurant offers a friendly and casual atmosphere with award-winning service. Guests can enjoy a variety of options including fresh seafood, steaks, prime rib, pastas, nightly specials, an extensive wine list, kids menus and homemade desserts.
This place has some of the best food and drinks. They also have great staff. We decided to give this place a try, it was a bit off of main street downtown. We were greeted and tended to pretty quickly. We decided to have a couple drinks. We ordered the lemon drop martini and it was so good we had a couple others. I also decided to try the painkiller and that was very good also. For dinner we got the tequila shrimp and the prime rib. Both were outstanding! Definately a reason to go back. For desert we had the creme brulee and it was also amazing. In a nut shell everything we tried was amazing and the service made it that much better. Will be coming back and I recommend giving this restaurant a try.

Great service, solid beer selection and the food was delicious. We had the dinner special of the day, which happened to be prime rib, and flat iron steak and crab cake. Would definitely recommend.

This place has great food and amazing service! The bartender shook my hand to introduce himself and took care of everything from there. The shrimp and grits were amazing and are plates had no crumbs to spare. Great atmosphere.

Food a little too rich for my wife and me. Not impressed with the limited salad bar.

Quality, fresh food in a relaxed and warm setting. We were served by Buzz, who was a pleasure throughout and very professional. We were given the specials on arrival and despite our initial worries, didn't feel out-of-place in winter sports attire (after a long day of snowboarding). Food was excellent, and pretty reasonably priced, as was the wine. The general feel of the place is very relaxed, and the tropical aquariums are a nice touch. Recommended!
Drew S — Google review
I was really hoping I'd have good thing's to say about my experience here, but it just wasn't that amazing. Ordered the Prime Rib, dry, very dry and over cooked. Salad Bar was okay, blue cheese dressing really needs more flavor for being so loaded with large blue cheese chunks, I figured it was going to taste awesome, that was not the case. Service was ok, very attentive! My mixed drink was the best part of the meal 🍹
Jennifer S — Google review
To be fair, I will write the positive first. The atmosphere is very pleasant and I would have thought to have received a better quality of food than we did. From our entry into the restaurant to our exit the wait staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. Shane, was our server and apologized profusely for what is to follow. My wife ordered the lobster tail which came out over done and my steak was bland to say the least. In all the places like this one I have visited throughout the States, I have never believed I would need steak sauce to be able to enjoy the steak That is the reason for my 3 Star rating
