Theme park
Water & Amusement Parks
Amusement park
Universal Studios Hollywood is a sprawling amusement park in Los Angeles, known as The Entertainment Capital of L.A. It offers a unique cinema-themed experience with rides, restaurants, shops, and shows. Visitors can explore movie sets and enjoy attractions like Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, King Kong 360 3-D Studio Tour, Transformers: The Ride-3D, The Simpsons Ride, Revenge of the Mummy, and Jurassic Park - The Ride.
What’s not to love about Universal Studios Hollywood? My kiddos prefer coming here and compared to Disneyland, for me, the cost is a game changer. We’ve had the annual pass for the past couple of years and it works for my fam of four. There are rides and attractions for all ages, an array of restaurants, snack carts, a few Star Buck locations as well. Their Universal Studios app is extremely useful. It provides additional information on all rides and attractions, wait times, stores, theme park hours, theme park map, etc..if you want to stay a few steps ahead on your day, I highly recommend using. The best time to go are weekdays, absolutely fewer people vs. the weekends. It’s also nice during the holiday season when the Christmas decor goes up. I recommend purchasing theme park tickets online, you’ll save money in comparison to buying in person. (Parking is an additional charge.) Great place to visit, Have fun! Me and my family always do.

So much fun. We're usually a Disney family but have wanted to visit Universal for a while and finally got our chance. It was actually quite a welcome change from the crowds of Disneyland. It would get very busy of an afternoon, mainly because we visited on Halloween horror nights and the crowds would arrive for that, but we managed to ride everything and were able to time it so we had less than half an hour waits for everything. We will definitely return to Universal again.
Bec M — Google review
We went on a Sunday in late October. There were minimal lines to get on the rides and the weather was nice and cool. Got to ride all of the rides, enjoy the studio tour, have lunch, a few snacks, and enjoy our time together. We definitely will be back. Keep in mind that the park closes early during the Hollywood Horror Night season & that is a separate entrance fee.
Twila K — Google review
We went for my daughter's 17th birthday. She got a pin at guest services and got 1 complimentary express ride free for her birthday. That was something special they do and it made her happy. That day, the line for rides were very short, so waiting time was great. We ate at a Harry Potter restaurant and the food was delicious. The Butterbeer you must try. There's unique souvenirs to buy in each land. The employees were very nice and courteous. The rides were awesome, especially The Mummy. I wish there were souvenirs for The Mimmy, but we saw none and that was disappointing. Overall, it was a great experience. In the photos, it's Hogwarts Castle, 2nd is a cauldron cake (it's magnificent and should be tried!) and 3rd is from Jurassic Park live shows.
Rachelle P — Google review
This was during Halloween Haunted Nights - and it was an absolute blast! Parking was easy, general is $35 and not even that much of a walk, food inside the park is better quality and price than SeaWorld, and all of the attractions were tops 20m wait? Loved it - went exclusively for the Fallout event and was blown away, from merch to the attraction itself. Will be going back to experience the whole park!
Zachary A — Google review
Amazing place for a full day of fun! The rides, shows, and movie sets are exciting and entertaining for all ages. The staff is friendly, the park is clean, and every visit feels like a new adventure. Highly recommend for families and tourists!

I lived in California all my life ( but transplanted to Kansas)and always was a rollercoaster buff. Now that I'm older I was given a chance to check out Universal and I must say I really did enjoy my time here, a must see!! Wished I would have visited sooner! But honestly can't wait to comeback to ride the FAST 2 FURIOUS in 2026!! See ya soon!

Get the VIP experience! Make sure you have Michael R. as your guide. The day began with coffee, fruit and danishes in the special VIP room while awaiting our time slot. Michael picked us up and we had the most spectacular tour. I was blown away by Michael knowledge. He truly loves his job and it was just spectacular to go see all these places where movies were filmed and to hear the history of all these different places. Then we got to do rides bypassing all of the lines. That was fun. Michael even held all of our stuff for us. The poor guy covered in purses and backpacks. The private lunch was spectacular.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame, established in 1960, is a renowned sidewalk area along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles. It features over 2,500 stars bearing the names of celebrities from various entertainment fields. The stars are adorned with symbols representing their area of expertise. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, people-watching, and indulge in treats like ice cream at Ghirardelli while exploring nearby attractions such as the TCL Chinese Theater and the Wax Museum.
Hollywood Walk of Fame is a must see and I've had an excellent experience there. The stars of all the famous celebrities, films, actresses, actors, singers and more. It was crowded but I still had a really great experience. I would highly recommend going to this attraction.
Xavier A — Google review
Definitely needs to be cleaned. One of the areas that we stopped by was smelling like pee. The stars also looked like they were being maintained. It seems like the stars around the Chinese theater is well taken care of but the rest are ignored. Over it was trying to find the classic ones.
Meenal V — Google review
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an iconic and unforgettable experience that beautifully captures the magic and legacy of the entertainment world. Strolling along Hollywood Boulevard, you’re surrounded by history — each star represents the achievements of legendary artists, actors, musicians, and filmmakers who have shaped global culture. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of life, with street performers, shops, and cafes adding to the excitement. It’s amazing to spot your favorite celebrities’ stars and take memorable photos along the way. The area is well-maintained and easy to explore, especially near the TCL Chinese Theatre and Dolby Theatre. Whether you’re a movie lover, a first-time visitor, or simply curious about Hollywood’s history, the Walk of Fame offers a fun, inspiring, and truly iconic experience. It’s a must-see attraction that celebrates the timeless spirit and creativity of the entertainment capital of the world.
LOUIE Y — Google review
It was fun to see and recognize the stars of the famous and legendary celebs but once is enough. Its dotted along the way with popular and famous buildings and stores but it also has its fair share of pop ups and tons and tons or souvenir shops that just bogs you down with its cookie cutter sameness. Its worth it if you have an hour or 2 to kill.
Eltea — Google review
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is definitely something worth seeing at least once! It’s fun spotting all the different stars and realizing how many famous names you recognize. There’s always a lot of energy, street performers, and interesting people watching, which makes it a unique experience. Parking can be a little tricky, especially on busy days or weekends, but if you’re patient you can usually find a spot in one of the nearby lots or side streets. I’d also recommend looking up the exact address of any specific celebrity’s star you want to see before you go — the Walk stretches for quite a few blocks, and this makes it much easier to find what you’re looking for. Overall, it’s a fun piece of Hollywood history and a great stop if you’re visiting LA!
Brian D — Google review
Have been several times but just recently went for the first time in 17 years. Still as entertaining as ever. Especially people watching. Went to Hard Rock Cafe and had a couple martini’s, loved the ambiance
Jennifer L — Google review
We went there with my boyfriend and really enjoyed our walk. You can check all the stores and can find some cool stuff there. We bought keychains that have our names 🩷
Sophia K — Google review
There are many shops on both side of the street but is very crowded even during the weekday. The sidewalks had many Street vendors. You can buy various kinds of goods and souvenir items from the street vendors or from the shop. There are stars people's name on it on the sidewalk. Although I don't know all of them, but some of them are well known actors. And there are some people who is selling to have your name printed on the star, which I think it's interesting because the name on the store was pre-printeds on it and it is not designed for people to make a sale so I didn't even bother asking. There are also many restaurants and cafes along the streets so you don't have to worry about being hungry or thirsty when you're walking the Hollywood famous sidewalk. The good thing is there's no camper on the street and the straightest relatively clean with a lot of tourists and many beautiful building structures that you can take a photo off.

Nestled within 605 acres, Franklin Canyon Park is a nature lover's paradise and a treasure trove of Hollywood history. The park offers over five miles of picturesque hiking trails that wind through its stunning landscape, including a serene duck pond and a 3-acre lake inhabited by Koi, turtles, and geese.
Went here on a Saturday in April. Saw a video on ig posted by the tannr guy and had to check it out. We didn’t know where to park but we parked on the side at the baseline. It was pretty steep and I would recommend boots with traction. We slipped a few times. There were signs that said leased dog friendly.
Gwen D — Google review
Really enjoyed that terrain. Unfortunately, the visitor center has been closed with funding shortages, but the grounds are marvelous. The water is lovely and there are ducks and turtles and Koi in the pond as well as wonderful old growth trees.

Laura T — Google review
This review is not a reflection on Franklin Canyon Park, which is a beauty and 5 star treasure but a bad rating on the ever disappointing LADWP of keeping the North Gate closed for almost 2 years now. While there was severe erosion damage on Lake Drive south of Franklin Cyn Lake, this issue is different. The erosion damage that LADWP and the Park Management claims is responsible for the continued closure of the North Gate is ridiculous and could be repaired much faster if there would be a desire to do so. Some might suspect that this is more politically motivated to find a reason to keep the park locked for through traffic. A similar example is the closure of Griffith Park Drive between Travel Town and the composting facility towards Wilson/ Harding Golf Course for "bicycle safety reasons". I'm not a conspiracy theorist but it's undeniable that LA City is on a roll on making people's access to parks more and more difficult whenever a chance presents itself. So let's see and wait if the Franklin Cyn North Gate ever opens again or the permanent closure is announced at one convenient point. At this point there's no effort visible on repairing the minor damage in this one location, a few sand bags and traffic cones is LADWP's best effort in 2 years, really?
Olaf S — Google review
This park is a traffic ticket trap! Cameras and video recording everywhere. Avoid at all costs. You will get a letter to pay or be sent to collections. Not worth the hassle. Other awesome parks in SoCal to visit without the invasion of privacy. Tinted windows, crack in windshield, roll through stop sign, double park, dog poops without clean up, any of these minor violations, you will see a ticket. Cameras follow you. Good luck!
Mary D — Google review
Reasonably nice. Great to see the lake and the turtles. Good for a family walk. Many trails to choose from but advise. If you have small kids avoid the Blinderman trail. It is very steep going up and coming down. Stick to the other trails which are not too steep. Nice views all-round from different locations if you can go up the trails Parking is free. NICE!

Mexican restaurant
Guisados is a casual taco spot that has expanded across the city, with its West Hollywood branch being particularly renowned for its delicious tacos. The menu features a variety of stews and braises served on handmade tortillas, and there's also a sampler platter available for those who want to try multiple options. In addition to serving tasty Mexican cuisine, Guisados also showcases local artists at each location, reflecting the importance of art in L.A.'s culture.
Stopped here on vacation. The menu had a large selection of tacos and other items. I asked the server if there was something he could recommend or what was their top selling tacos he replied “there’s a lot”. Unfortunately that didn’t help me decide what to order. I decided to try the sampler. It came with 6 delicious filling mini tacos. The restaurant was next to many restaurants/ bars. The tables outside is great for people watching.
Michelle K — Google review
The food definitely smells good, but I would not recommend ordering it to go. My tacos were very soggy with puddles of liquid in the center. Note- they were soggy as soon as I opened them in the car. By the time I got home they looked like photos attached. I suggest ordering toppings on the side. Also they don’t carry straws. Pros- The staff are very kind. They also prepared the food wearing gloves. Which surprisingly isn’t so common anymore.
Whitney L — Google review
Guisados in West Hollywood has tasty tacos with great flavor, but the overall experience was just okay. The place was super loud, hard to have a conversation, and it wasn’t as clean as I expected. The tables were sticky, and the floor looked like it needed a good sweep. The staff was decent, and the food came out fairly quickly, but the atmosphere took away from the meal. If you’re just grabbing food to go, it might be worth it, but for dining in, I expected a bit more.
Russo G — Google review
Classic Taco spot around LA and this is the West Hollywood location. I always end up getting the smaller when I’m not super hungry, but need a little something that will make me full and not too stuffed. This location is busy late at night after the bars and during the day not too bad. Service is pretty fast and they get food out quickly. There are a few tables indoors and an outdoor area. Overall, a good reliable spot to get some tacos!
Sky T — Google review
Their tortillas are absolutely smashing! The have a extra spicy 10/10 taco that is *PERFECT* -- I thought it would be totally unbalanced, but it was fabulous

Very underwhelming. Chile Ellen taco was lukewarm warm, and steak Bistek flavor was not good. Just some stewed meat….

Restaurant
Wally's Beverly Hills is a sophisticated restaurant and wine bar that offers a unique dining experience in the heart of 90210. The establishment features a gourmet wine and cheese bar, as well as a retail shop where patrons can purchase bottles, accoutrements, artisanal chocolates, and specialty meats.
Awesome dining experience here and it helps to know someone here to get a good seating. Amazing choice of wine and drinks and the cocktails too. The place has a life of its own. Good luck trying to get a seat here on weekends if you haven't provisioned for it earlier. Take sometime just walking around and looking at the wine and drinks collection at one end and the cheese collection on the other. Good and quick service! Valet is a better option than street parking which has a 1 hour restriction unless you park in the garage nearby
George K — Google review
This place was so good! We ordered a truffle appetizer, truffle fries, truffle pizza and they were off-the-charts. The Ugo Spritz was also really good! The only thing we did not love is the dessert.
MJ — Google review
Wally's is quickly becoming one of the top restaurants in Beverly Hills. I used to go to Il Pastaio, but their service has become quite rude, and the quality just isn’t the same anymore. I'm not sure who the chef at Wally's is, but the food is so good it’s almost emotional ,like a true Ratatouille moment. The service can sometimes be chaotic, but today we were served by Tanner, a young guy who absolutely nailed it. It was unbelievable because they usually mess up our order, but Tanner was spot on and didn’t interrupt us while we were enjoying our meal. A true gem among waiters.
Veronika P — Google review
Love Wallys world of wine,,, and beer, and meat, and cheese! Ha, they have it all here in an upscale eclectic setting. This is where to see the beautiful people and be seen. Our Som was great and our server (Daniele) was attentive! Find the wine you like, note the price, and $50, and your server will keep your glass full. It’s a great time! VictorB

Wally’s in Beverly Hills is a great spot! Perfect place to meet new people, and the décor is beautiful. It can get a little crowded sometimes, but the energy is fun and lively. Overall, it’s a really good place to hang out and enjoy yourself."

First time at Wally's last night and had the best time. Bartenders were so friendly and helpful with ordering from menu. I got the avocado salad that was seriously one of the best salads I've ever had. So colorful and fresh. We then shared the spicy pepperoni pizza that was also fresh and had the perfect kick to it. This is definitely my favorite restaurant right now. Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu. This restaurant deserves ten stars!
Nina A — Google review
This is THEE moment in Beverly Hills. Whether you are looking to see or be seen, snack on a charcuterie board, or actually imbibe on any bottle from their unparalleled wine selection, Wally’s has got you!
Brian R — Google review
This is a wine lovers heaven. The largest wine selection I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. The menu is perfectly designed to be complimented with your favorite wine. They also have a very large bar area, which include a vast selection of other great alcoholic beverages. This restaurant offers a cheese section, uniquely selected for purchase along with other products. The food is so tasteful and has beautiful presentation. My only complaint is the stools not being comfortable. This casual ambiance is a perfect place for lunch or dinner. You definitely must put Wally’s on your list next time you visit Beverly Hills.

The Getty is a renowned, expansive museum that showcases American and European art, as well as architectural marvels and meticulously maintained gardens. It's one of the must-visit spots in Los Angeles, a city known for its diverse attractions ranging from beaches to mountains. The J. Paul Getty Museum aims to spark curiosity and appreciation for visual arts by collecting, preserving, displaying, and interpreting historically significant artworks.
Pretty amazing place. Driven by here many times on work trips out here and wanted to go. Finally made it happen. The place is massive - quite a bit bigger than I tthought it would be. Parking was easy and plentiful. Short tram ride from parking to the complex, and you are rocking and rolling. Very popular place. Went at around noon on a Thursday late September, and there were plenty of people. Imagine weekends, summer, and holidays quite crowded. I thought the museums were solid enough and the architecture was impressive, but the star of the show for me were the grounds. Amazing trees and flowers abounded. And the view of LA would have been impressive if it hadnt been so smoggy and a bit rainy. Really remarkable place, especially if you like naked paintings and sculptures (those Greeks and Romans and Europeans were free-swinging and uninhibited - might need to shuffle the kids along at various spots). Went to Getty Villa as well and liked that even more.
Jimmer W — Google review
It is one of the most important art museums in the world, located in Los Angeles. Built with modern, light-colored stones, it is surrounded by gardens, water features and terraces. The museum houses European paintings, sculptures, manuscripts, photographs and decorative arts. Works by masters such as Van Gogh, Titian, Monet and Rubens are among the highlights. The photography collection is also one of the most extensive archives in the United States. Admission is free; parking costs $25, $15 after 3 p.m and $10 after 6 p.m.
Ozitheexplorer — Google review
The Getty Center is one of the greatest art collections ever assembled, and one of Los Angeles’s true cultural treasures. Perched high above the city in the Brentwood Hills, the Getty offers an extraordinary combination of art, architecture, and landscape design. The Richard Meier campus is a thoughtful collection of buildings connected by terraces, gardens and open courtyards where visitors are invited to flow through each of the collections through a series of footbridges and walkways. Arrival of the Getty is via light tram that slowly snakes up the hill, gradually expanding the views of Los Angeles and the surrounding hills, helping prepare visitors for the spectacular panoramic views that await them at the top. Inside, the Getty’s galleries house an exceptional range of European paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, and photography — from masterpieces by Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and Monet to intricate medieval manuscripts and 18th-century furnishings. Pieces are thoughtfully curated and the skylight system makes these cavernous rooms feel airy and light. Beyond the main campus Central Garden designed by Robert Irwin, offers a serene landscape of winding paths, reflection pools and a vibrant mix of flora and fauna. First time visitors should budget approximately 2-3 hours to tour all of the museum's offerings. Admission is free although guests are encouraged to book in advance. Whether you’re a dedicated art lover, a design enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful escape with breathtaking views, the Getty Center offers one of the most enriching and inspiring experiences in the city.

The Getty Museum is truly one of Los Angeles’ treasures. The architecture and views alone are worth the visit — you can see the city, the ocean, and the mountains all from one spot. The gardens are beautifully designed and make for a peaceful walk. Inside, the art collection is incredible, ranging from European masterpieces to rotating exhibitions that are always thoughtfully curated. What I really love is that admission is free (just pay for parking), which makes it accessible for everyone. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, and everything feels very well organized. Whether you’re an art lover, a history buff, or just looking for a relaxing day in LA, the Getty is a must-visit.

We are a family of 4 traveling with a special needs adult son. This museum is free minus the cost of covered secure parking. Well worth the cost. Our adult son has limited mobility and if you are pushing a wheelchair it’s a workout. On sunny warm days umbrellas are provided while they last -plan accordingly. There is so much to see and appreciate. I walked away with new & surprising perspectives. The garden is especially impressive. You feel a little overwhelmed by the vigilance of the security but they are doing a good job. Plan for hours to stay. I hope you enjoy this impressive marvel! For younger eyes: as you may expect there is plenty of nudity in art - so a talk with kids beforehand may be helpful.

I have many long time favorites to visit in LA. But this place has now bar far hands down moved into the #1 spot to visit for all my art fans. There is a reason it is #1 in the world. They have made it an unbelievable experience from the time you get there to the time you leave. Amazing views into downtown Amazing views into West Hollywood. Reasonable on all fronts. Go early and make it a day trip. Reservations are highly advised. Google the Getty and it should be easy to find. Good walking shoes a must...

What an amazing visit! The architecture and stone masonry were absolutely breathtaking. The exhibition was so informative—I may never make it to Greece or Italy, but being surrounded by all the incredible artwork and sculptures truly made me feel like I was there. The gardens were stunning and added such a peaceful touch to the experience. A beautiful place that brings history to life!
Christina L — Google review
I recently had the chance to visit the Getty in Los Angeles, and it was such an incredible experience. The museum itself is breathtaking, not only because of the world-class art collections but also because of the architecture and the atmosphere. Walking through the galleries, I was amazed by how beautifully everything was displayed, and I felt like I was being transported through different times and cultures. The outdoor spaces were just as impressive—the gardens and the panoramic views of Los Angeles made the visit even more special. It felt peaceful and inspiring at the same time, and I left with a sense of calm and appreciation for art, history, and nature all together. Visiting the Getty was truly unforgettable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to LA.

Westfield Century City

Shopping mall

Westfield Century City, originally established in 1964, underwent a $1-billion redesign in 2017 to create an essential Westside escape with an authentic Southern California vibe. The revitalized mall showcases over 200 luxury, contemporary, and international designer brands across its 1.3 million square feet of space.
If there are top malls in LA worth going to, The Grove and Century City Mall are 2 top choices. The Beverly Center not too far away is weirdly quite desolate despite the good location. The Grove will likely be busier, but I don’t like that The Grove charges for parking and no validation either. Century City mall tends to be my go to these days. They give you a 1 hour free parking which is awesome, but anything more than 1 hour be ready to pay a lot 😂 I like the cool outdoor space - great for sunny days, but I have to admit, it sucks during rainy days as rain with tile floors makes walking a bit more dangerous as it becomes slippery. The coolest attraction? The swing couches! I’ve spent hours on one of those with my dog and it is so cool! Did I mention they are dog friendly?? Your dog will meet so many other dogs there!

One of the best malls I’ve ever been to — every visit here is an absolute pleasure. I truly enjoy spending time at this place, whether it’s for shopping, relaxing, or just walking around. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, and I always find something new and exciting. What makes it even more special is the food court — I absolutely love it! With a wide variety of delicious options and a lively ambiance, it’s the perfect spot to take a break and enjoy a great meal. This mall has become one of my favorite destinations, and I always look forward to coming back.

My favorite mall in West LA! Very dog-friendly and has a wide variety of boutique and household brands. Love shopping and hanging out with friends here. Parking can be tricky, but if you can find parking and finish shopping within an hour, you are good. But if you can’t, try validating at Gelsons with a 10-dollar purchase for a free 3-he stay! But overall recommend it for a visit during the weekend. Has plenty of activities to do every time.

Such a great spot! Super clean, modern, and really pleasant to walk around. There’s a nice mix of stores for all tastes, and the overall vibe is relaxed and welcoming. The outdoor areas are beautifully set up, and there are plenty of great dining options too. A perfect little escape in the middle of the city!

The Westfield Century City Mall is by far my favorite mall in Los Angeles and, in my opinion, the most beautiful and elegant one in the city. It’s fun to visit year-round, with stunning themed decorations for every season. What I love most is the variety—this mall truly has it all. You’ll find everything from everyday stores to high-end luxury brands, plus an amazing food court alongside top-tier restaurants. Whether I’m just strolling around, grabbing a bite, or shopping, it always feels like the perfect outing. It’s also a wonderful spot to spend time with friends and family. I’d recommend this Westfield 100 times over—there’s simply no other mall in LA like it!

I've visited many malls around the world, but this one truly stands out. Westfield Century City offers a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor mall experiences—all in one place. It’s secure, peaceful, and full of life. You'll find a wide range of internationally famous brand outlets, great food chains, fun activities for kids, and much more. For families visiting LA, this should definitely be your first choice.

Great place to people watch and shop. There are plenty of great restaurants to go to if you’re not into shopping and the parking is adequate if not great. It just depends on if it’s busy or not,. They have all the different brands that you would want the only place that even comes close to rivaling it is south Coast Plaza.

Taiwanese restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Din Tai Fung is a renowned Taiwanese restaurant chain that has made a name for itself with its handmade soup dumplings and Chinese cuisine. Originating as a cooking oil shop, it transitioned into the restaurant industry in 1972 and has since become an internationally recognized brand with locations worldwide. While famous for its traditional pork soup dumplings, Din Tai Fung also specializes in noodles and various dumpling varieties.
Din Tai Fung is always a must whenever we’re in the area — it’s one of those places we keep coming back to because the food is consistently satisfying. When it’s just the two of us, we have our go-to order and somehow manage to finish everything every time! On our most recent visit, we discovered a surprisingly delicious combo: mixing the spicy wontons with the sesame noodles. The balance of heat, nuttiness, and savory flavor made it such a perfect bite — we’ll definitely be ordering that duo again. The only downside to this location is the wait time, which can get pretty long, especially during peak hours. But once you’re seated, the service is efficient and the food comes out fairly quickly. If you’re willing to wait, the food is always worth it. It’s a solid spot for comforting, flavorful Taiwanese classics.
Crystal — Google review
Din Tai Fung is a wonderful combination of food, vibes, and service if you want a comfort food meal with a modern restaurant style. The dumplings are juicy and have thin skin, and that goes for both the pork, fish, and the chili oil vegan ones! I love that they have a vegan option. Even if the other entree or appetizer portions are kind of small, the quality of the handmade dumplings makes up for it. This location also has views of the ocean if you sit outside. We tried the mango shaved snow since it was a hot day, and the shaved snow was pretty icy but the mangoes are definitely not in season right now 🤣 dessert baos were a treat; best one was black sesame (not too sweet!) fantastic food and overall meal!

Din Tai Fung is simply the best! The food is always spot-on — from the awesome chicken dumplings and famous soup dumplings to the refreshing cucumber salad, crispy string beans, tender broccoli, and that perfect fried rice. Everything tastes fresh and full of flavor. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is warm, and every visit feels like a treat. Definitely one of my favorite spots!

The food here is so good, the service was excellent. I loved the green beans so so much, I loved the cucumbers as well. I liked the spicy wontons. The rest just tasted normal to me, but those were definitely my favourite and something you have to try. I loved how everything looked inside. It was so beautiful. Every corner looked so well crafted.

We were really hungry today and felt the food was taking a bit long, so we asked a few times. The restaurant was quite busy, which I totally understand. To my surprise, the manager personally came over to apologize and even comped part of our meal. It was such a kind gesture, especially since it wasn’t really their fault. I really appreciate their thoughtfulness and great service. This isn’t my first time dining at Din Tai Fung Century city, and it definitely won’t be my last. Thank you for always treating your guests with care!

Din Tai Fung in Santa Monica Place is one of those rare restaurants that manages to be both a machine of precision and a warm, satisfying experience. Sitting on the top level of the mall with views toward the ocean, it feels elevated in every sense. The famous xiao long bao live up to their reputation—each delicate dumpling perfectly folded, filled with Kurobuta pork and hot, rich broth that bursts with flavor. The crab and pork version is another standout. The cucumber salad with garlic and chili oil is the perfect cool start, and the string beans with garlic might be one of the best vegetable dishes in Los Angeles, full of wok char and crunch. Cocktails are more thoughtful than you’d expect from a global chain. The Yuzu Margarita is balanced and bright, the Pear Lychee Martini is light and floral, and the Old Fashioned made with Taiwanese whisky and oolong syrup is a clever nod to their roots. Service is smooth and efficient, and you can actually watch the dumpling masters folding behind glass. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it. Din Tai Fung is a well-oiled, world-class operation that still feels human, and this Santa Monica location gets every detail right. Five stars.

An outstanding place for authentic Taiwanese cuisine! Every dish is flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The service is impressively quick and attentive, which makes the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The only challenge is the long wait for a table ~especially during peak hours ~but once you’re seated, it’s absolutely worth it. A must-visit for anyone who loves great Taiwanese food! 🥟✨🇹🇼

I recently celebrated my birthday at Din Tai Fung, and our server Greg made the entire experience unforgettable. From the moment we were seated, Greg went above and beyond to make sure my friends and I had a great time. He recommended an incredible bottle of sake (seriously the best bottle I’ve ever had!), and it was so yummy. But what really stood out was how thoughtful and attentive he was, especially when it came to my friend with a food allergy. Greg made sure everything was safe and enjoyable for her, which meant the world to us. His energy, passion, and care made us feel so welcome. Truly, Greg killed it and I’m so grateful for how he elevated our night. If you’re lucky enough to be seated in his section, you’re in for a treat. Thanks again, Greg, you deserve all the recognition! The food was of course, incredible as always.

Fine dining restaurant
The Belvedere is a luxurious Mediterranean restaurant located in the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. Known for its stunning patio seating and Sunday brunch, it offers a perfect setting for al fresco dining with beautiful landscaping, a French limestone fountain, and an outdoor fireplace. After undergoing remodeling, the restaurant now showcases a blend of Californian and Mediterranean cuisine by chef David Codney.
The Belvedere at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills provided an outstanding brunch! We loved the various meals - including the lemon ricotta pancakes, beet salad, and Cobb salad with a side of smoked salmon. Each bite was delicious and the service was excellent. Thank you to the Belvedere for being a venue for our a few friends to meet and dine.
Louise S — Google review
I used to be a loyal customer of Belvedere for many years. While celebrating my best friend’s birthday, I pulled a long black hair out of my Caesar salad. I have short, ear-length hair, so it was clearly not mine. I asked to speak with the manager, and it took 10-15 minutes for him to finally approach our table. When he did, he didn’t offer an apology and instead gave me a blank stare, almost as if he couldn’t care less. While they did refund my meal, I felt more like I was inconveniencing them rather than being sincerely apologized to for the health and safety issue. I never expected to find a hair in my food at such a supposedly prestigious place, but even more disappointing was the way I was treated afterward. I chose not to create a scene as it was my friend’s birthday, but I was truly appalled by the entire experience. I will not be returning.

A friend and I had a fantastic breakfast at The Belvedere European Brasserie inside The Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. The dining room is spacious, elegant, and filled with beautiful artwork and gorgeous flower arrangements, creating a refined yet welcoming atmosphere. There’s also a lovely option to dine al fresco. The menu was fabulous! We shared the Egg White Frittata with roasted vegetables, arugula, and chicken sausage—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also enjoyed a generous stack of lemon-zest pancakes that were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. A cheesy cracker served with the meal was an unexpected treat—crispy, savory, and bursting with flavor. The coffee was fresh and satisfying. Our servers, Monika and Narcisco, were warm, professional, and attentive, which made our experience even more enjoyable. The Belvedere is a wonderful spot for a relaxing, upscale breakfast in a gorgeous setting and they have a great menu for their lunch and dinner, as well. We will be back. Highly recommended!

Came here twice for dinner during my two week visit to Southern California. My boyfriend and I loved it so much that we just had to come again for my birthday. The food was excellent and the salad was the best I’ve ever had in my life freshly picked from their garden above. The waitstaff was so kind and top notch. We could not have asked for a better fine dining experience. The next time I visit SoCal I plan on coming again! I give everything 5 stars.

Thrilled to see permanent plant based (vegan) menu options at The Belvedere. Had a lovely lunch with incredible service. The white gazpacho was delicious - never had that before! - and the other dishes were also good. Was informed that the menu for plant based items changes seasonally, so will definitely return. It is a little pricey but personally thought it was worth it. Ps. The Living Room, also located within The Peninsula, can offer a full vegan Afternoon Tea if you inform them in advance. Love this!

Spectacular, highly recommend. Upscale, classy restaurant with delicious food. Went for the Dine LA menu and will be returning for the full menu with guests. Dine LA menu had various options in each course that was great for my first time. Restaurant is located in the Pennisula Hotel and has indoor and outdoor seating. Atmosphere was well light with comfy dining room chairs and booths. The food was amazing, and it was a good selection of all food groups, even a kids' menu. The entrees were awesome, but the dessert was a highlight, and it felt like edible art. Considering how classy the place was, i was surprised to learn the restaurant and hotel are dog friendly, I was told there is a dog menu! Buon Appetito, Piatto Pulito 😋

Udon noodle restaurant
Marugame Udon is a popular cafeteria-style Japanese udon spot with locations in Downtown, Sawtelle, and Glendale. The fresh noodles are made to order and served in a choice of broth, with regular portions starting at $5.95. The menu also features affordable fried tempura bites. Customers enjoy the Nikutama Udon with sweet beef and toppings like egg, tempura flakes, and green onion.
First time here and I really loved it! It’s an easy, slightly self serve, high quality food. The shrimp tempura was sweet, fresh and crunchy. Size was very nice. The sweet potato and egg tempura was scrumptious. The udon, fresh and flavorful. Nice surprise ending when I chose to get the iced matcha, it was incredible. Definitely will be coming back.

My first time trying a customizable udon spot and it’s quite fun! I had a hard time choosing the soup base but ended up picking the tan tan. The soup was so red I was worried it’d be extremely spicy but thankfully it wasn’t. Udon was solid quite happy with my meal.

This place is great for noodles/udon lovers. 😅 you can tell is high quality products. I ordered Curry Nikutama Udon , it was sooo good! My only regret it’s a chose the small one. I will definitely do the big one next time. It was delicious! Curry was perfect seasoned! Udon was perfectly cooked. They also have a tempura self service And everything was so fresh and crunchy. I got the zucchini and shrimp. 🤤 Price is good for everything you can have and most important, the quality of the ingredients! Everything tastes really good. We waited in line for about 20 min but it’s worth it! I want to come back to try different udons and more tempuras. Kitchen is open and it’s nice to watch how they work. Very fast and organized. Loved it!

Yum! Choose your Udon base beef, pork etc. Noodles made with only flour water and salt. No chemicals! Choose your own tempura on the side like a cafeteria. So there is always a line, but it moves quickly. Anime art on the wall, happy people slurping udon! Fun to have a casual meal will friends, alone or with family. We had beef udon & Creamy pork. Side tempura zucchini and sweet potatoes, potatoe croquette, sausage.

I love Marugame Udon! The soup is always flavorful and delicious, also the dumplings, crispy fried shrimp, and sweet potatoes. The service is consistently attentive and friendly, and the space is clean with a nice ambiance. It’s one of my favorite spots to visit whenever I’m in Sawtelle!

It looks amazing and I rate this bowl ( the #1) a 7/10 not bad but it’s not something I’d get regularly. I’ll be going back to try something different very soon. The atmosphere is nice and busy. Kinda feels like you’re in a Japan and I like that.
Eddie C — Google review
Perfect for noodles/udon lovers! Great selection of tempura and everything seasoned perfectly. I came with my friend who recommended the large curry udon bowl, so I trusted his opinion and got it with tempura tamago, pumpkin, and potato croquette. I asked for their chili paste on the side and it was a perfect addition to the curry sauce. Just enough spice and flavor that added more umami and heat, but doesn’t overpower the original curry flavor. The noodles taste fresh as they make it in house. Great chew, softness, and fullness of the noodles. Perfect to slurp up as the curry sauce gets carried up into your mouth. They have self-serve water station with napkins and condiments. You get a tray to carry to your seat and then, take the tray back to a counter to dispose your trash. Atmosphere was amazing. Really busy, but quick service. There are plenty of seats indoors and some outdoors, but can get filled up quickly. My friend said he’s tried all their bowls and the curry was his favorite. I highly recommend this place if you’re in Japan Town/Sawtelle. I’m definitely coming back more times to try their other bowls!
Bill V — Google review
The Baseline: For an Udon restaurant, the noodles must be fresh, cooked with consistency in softness attributed to thicker noodles, broth must be tasty with a light umami flavor, accompaniment additions must match with the style of an udon Japanese cafe/restaurant, and the plating (bowling) must have good presentation. Food: The Kake Udon had a very nice fish based broth that complimented the udon noodles that had a good consistency. The times I had to “slurp” the noodles had a great taste as the broth adhered to the noodle. All add ins are presented at the time of order and the noodles are quick prepared in front of you as the order is made. All tempura items are presented Japanese cafeteria style and you select each of them with tongs by the items (be clean and respectful when selecting items please). Once you pay for your food there is a service bar with sauces and spicy add ins along with a water station. Service: Great service with fresh prepared udon. Staff was friendly and helpful. Self service areas are intuitive and the flow works for the restaurant. Ambiance: This restaurant fits in with the Japantown Sawtelle vibe. The Japanese cafeteria style is fun and inviting. Relatively clean bathrooms and the seating area was well serviced.

Located in the heart of Los Angeles, La Brea Tar Pits and Museum is a unique site that offers a glimpse into the Ice Age. The tar pits, filled with black slush called asphalt, have preserved the remains of ancient creatures such as mammoths and Saber-tooth cats. The adjacent museum, Page Museum, displays an impressive collection of fossils including the Huge Colombian Mammoth exhibition and a wall of dire wolf skulls found in the tar pits.
I had always been fascinated by this museum since I was a kid. Loved dinosaurs, love science. Finally got to visit on a trip to the LA area and it is such a cool place. Lots of interested things to see. Beautiful grounds and fantastic displays.
Travis — Google review
A great place to visit for all ages. I recommend taking one of the guided tours as we learned so much more than if we had not. It’s hard to believe the asphalt is still seeping up all over the park. The fossil collection is spectacular. You can also see an excavation site as well as the scientists preserving the fossils.
MJ L — Google review
I found the museum very informative. The decent was a gentleman, he provided us with facts we wouldn't have known without him. The displays were amazing. I was very intrigued that different areas were sprouting up tar and so they put neon green cones by them. The different pits are still be excavated and new animal remains are still being found. We had teens with us and they seemed to be interested in the displays too.
Kaylene D — Google review
Been wanting to visit here for years. The museum was very interesting and not over crowded like i thought it would be. We did not get to observe the excavation as it was later in the day and it had closed.maybe go there first? I found it very unfortunat that the LACMA was clearly being built over areas where there was more to be excavated as they found fossles while building the facility. LACMA is built all around and nearly 10 feet away from the active excavations and tar pits. Otherwise very cool to see. Would recomend.

This museum is like the little sister of the natural history museum, focusing on the fossils found in the tar pits of the area. The space is pretty small and just one loop so you can finish seeing everything in less than 2 hours. They have some pretty neat fossils dating back to the ice age, and lots of interesting information. The entire surrounding area is nice to walk around and check out too.

I had been here a lot times in different seasons but honestly as a local I had never seen this rock kinda structure and alien-like futuristic spot. This is telling me that you never see the whole page when you did not experience everywhere in every corner. So don’t always go far to find sth new! Start from where you are to find what you have missed. I really really enjoyed that afternoon in the gorgeous LA sunlight combining with the most beautiful and natural color (green and blue) in every scene. No fake! No ugly filter, no human commercial. No social and no purpose. It was just pure nature and wilderness. It is the best thing for me and it is free. I am just so sick of fake people and their intention behind. All they want is attention to fulfill their vanity. That is so stupid. Nature is powerful, effortless, and mysterious. Life and its vitality is everywhere if we pay attention to that healthy energy. It is sooooo magical. Isn’t it? I guess that’s why I’d like to share some of honest moments on google maps. It is not commercial or get paid or get sth in return. Just pure my feelings at the moment where I had been and you might be there before too.

Visited to see something uniquely Southern Californian. Wasn't sure what to expect. Had a great time with my wife and kids. You can see the tar pits (actually asphalt, as the displays explain) for free by just walking around the park. There's a good museum too with fossils on display and a lab where fossils from the tar pits are cleaned. Outside you can see a lot where a crew is excavating into the tar. Not too stinky, if that's a concern. 😉
John M — Google review
We had a great first visit to the target pits. Signs were a little confusing and took us a little to find the entrance, but we did it. They had lots of informational displays in addition to replicas to visualize how the tar pits worked. Inside the museum was a display to be able to see the scientists work on recently pulled fossils. We saw part of a mammoth skeleton. So cool! At many of the inside displays were workers with various bones/skeletons. My kids asked each one questions on the animals. The workers were a wealth of knowledge!

Steak house

Bar & grill
Lawry's The Prime Rib is a classic fine-dining establishment known for its tableside carving and formal setting. While not exclusively a steakhouse, it embodies the essence of a bygone era with its legendary prime rib carved tableside in grand silver carts and servers dressed in 50s-inspired uniforms. The menu offers modern additions like vegan mushroom steak and shrimp-and-jalapeno fritters alongside classic choices.
Lawry’s, a restaurant that has been serving prime rib since 1938, has a reason for its longevity. The prime rib was absolutely delicious. To complement the main course, we opted for the Idaho potato puree, which was fluffy and bursting with flavor. The creamed corn and gravy added a touch of sweetness and richness to the dish. As a seafood option, I chose the North Atlantic lobster tail, which was cooked to perfection. It was neither chewy nor hard but soft and succulent. The key lime pie, which was added to the menu after a few years of hiatus, was also a delightful addition. Even the espresso, served in a heated cup with a thick crema, was a perfect end to our meal. Our server was friendly and attentive, making our dining experience truly enjoyable. Overall, we had a great night and highly recommend Lawry’s for a memorable dining experience.

We went to Lawry’s to celebrate our belated anniversary. Thankfully, we had a reservation, so the wait to be seated wasn’t long. We were greeted by an older waitress who was professional and efficient—her service was smooth and without issue. However, we couldn’t help but notice how much has changed since the pandemic. One of the most surprising things was the downgrade in the staff uniforms. They used to wear distinctive, elegant attire, but now the uniforms appear very plain and unappealing. As usual, we ordered the Lawry’s Prime Rib dinner (Lawry Cut) and requested our usual sides: the half & half (cream corn and spinach) and baked potato with all the toppings. Unfortunately, our waitress informed us that both the half & half and baked potato options are no longer offered. So, I opted for the cream corn and my husband chose the spinach so we could share. The mashed potatoes, which replaced the baked potato, were disappointing, and the prime rib itself didn’t taste the same—we couldn’t tell if it was the meat quality or the seasoning that had changed. The spinach also had an odd flavor. Thankfully, the spinning salad, cream corn, and Yorkshire still tasted as good as we remembered. Since it was our anniversary, we expected the usual complimentary champagne and dessert, but this time we only received champagne. While the champagne wasn’t charged, we were surprised to see a charge for dessert, indicating Lawry’s may have stopped offering complimentary sweets for special occasions. Sadly, this location is no longer what it used to be. We don’t plan to return for future celebrations. A few weeks later, my parents celebrated their anniversary and, after hearing about our experience, decided to go to the Las Vegas Lawry’s instead. They had a much better experience—with excellent service, the classic side options still available, and complimentary champagne and dessert included.

My wife and I been wanting to visit this restaurant for a long time, we were in the area one day and decided to dine there. The servers are very friendly they were nice enough to keep us informed about the score because the Dodgers played that day. The food was excellent but we expected more from such fine restaurant. We were one of the first ones when the restaurant opened that day, when we left, the restaurant was packed, which gives you an idea of how people are eager to be there to taste the food that made that restaurant famous.

I came here for a solo dinner tonight for my birthday. Servers were very nice, but my busser Sergio was amazing! Best prime rive I’ve ever had, hands down. They brought me a little birthday cake in the house! Will absolutely be coming back, next time with friends! Thank you for a great experience!

My bf took me here for my birthday. The food was exceptional and loved the presentation. We had a bottle of the pessimist wine and we both ordered the prime rib dinner with creamed spinach and corn as it came with two sides as well as mashed potatoes and a house salad. The meat was so tender and flavorful. We also got the fried onions which were delicious and way more than expected. The servers were attentive and made sure we had an amazing meal. Definitely be back.

First, this review is based on comparing Lawry's with House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. The service at Lawry's was excellent - we had two waiters that were friendly and attentive, which made the dinner very enjoyable. The food was good but House or Prime Rib has them beat in almost every category. At the end of the day the Prime Rib is simply not as good, and I attribute it to focus - while Lawry's has more options (seafood, appetizers, entrees), all HOPR serves is Prime Rib, and the focus on this is easily seen in the meat. I would certainly come back to Lawry's but it's a solid B- compared to House of Prime Rib being a A+.

What can I say, it's Lawry's. The food was delicious and the drinks were amazing. Enjoyed being able to order an espresso martini before our table was ready. If you haven't been there, it's a must. You won't be disappointed. Great place for a girls night out, celebration, holidays, etc.
Diana B — Google review
Lawry’s The Prime Rib really harkens back to a different time. A time where going out to diner was an experience and food was memorable. I think they do a great job of maintaining this almost all the way around. Tableside service is almost mandatory here and they appear to take great care with their service levels. Prices are oddly reasonable for what you get and while it’s a little old fashioned it hits all the points to make that endearing instead of cheesy.

Dim sum restaurant
Capital Seafood Beverly Hills is a spacious and inviting restaurant that specializes in traditional Chinese cuisine, particularly known for its delectable meat and seafood dishes alongside an impressive selection of dim sum. This location stands out as a premier destination for dim sum lovers, often regarded as the best spot west of Downtown LA. The ambiance reflects the upscale Beverly Hills vibe, with luxury cars lining the streets and professionals enjoying their lunch breaks over delightful treats like shrimp har gow and steamed BBQ pork buns.
That $16 fillet mignon beef on lunch special is incredibly good! It is soooooo tender snd has a bit of sweetness to it. Tried the pork chops today for lunch. It has packed with garlic and nicely plated. Shrimp with scrambled though not photogenic was quite decent
Kendrick K — Google review
Capital Seafood did not disappoint! The dim sum was delicious, the service was attentive, and the ambiance was great. Be sure to make reservations. The round tables with the lazy Susan are perfect for large groups! I’ll definitely be back!
Mayi B — Google review
This is a good place. I personally prefer their branch in Monterrey Park because they use traditional Dim Sum carts and offer more affordable prices. That said, it’s definitely a good option for enjoying authentic Dim Sum in the area if you’re craving it. Be sure to check out their menu to see if their offerings appeal to you!

I attended a banquet here. I was very satisfied with the food. Very flavorful. It was family-style serving. There were 8 of us at our table. We were all full, yet there were still plenty of leftovers that we packed. 😁 Service was quite slow. We all had to request a water refill repeatedly. The AC wasn't cold enough. There's paid parking right next to the site. Flat rate of $5 on weekends. I'll surely go back and I recommend the place.
Nellie B — Google review
We always come here to celebrate Chinese new year. Great atmosphere for a family setting. The seafood was really fresh and one king crab can be cooked 3 ways - steamed, stir fry with sauce, fried rice. The Pen Choi was something we tried for the first time. It was delicious and had over 10 ingredients. It’s a very good combination and feeds the whole table. It’s a full-house and very busy during holidays. But service quality was not lowered because of the traffic. The servers are all so happy and cheerful. They bring you the joy and festive vibes!
Nora Z — Google review
Came here to have an early dinner with a friend. They were setting up for a Wedding reception. Such a Beautiful place. Would recommend anytime, also very family friendly. Best Crispy Tofu in 90210. String Bean game stong as well, flavorful cooked properly, and not overly salted. Will be back for more. Service and Food is excellent. Does get busy in the evenings. If you having a longer dinner date, i recommend going a little earlier. Parking Lot: open till 11pm, restaurant gives validation for 2hrs during weekdays. Only $5.50 on weekends, I think $2.50 for an hour.
Tekoah F — Google review
Food was delicious and fresh. This restaurant is where you order off from the Dim Sum menu instead of where the ladies push the carts around. Driving in from Palm Springs with high expectations, Capital Seafood did not disappoint. We ordered $280 worth of food for the 4 of us but that's because we really don't have Dim Sum in the Desert. There were a few items that we ordered 2, 3, and 4 times. I definitely enjoyed the chickens' feet as that reminds me of my grandma.
Calvin Y — Google review
This place ok. It was a Friday night and it was kind of empty which I was kind of surprised. There wasn’t a hostess that night I guess which I found weird, but the food was relatively good. We got the creamy shrimp and walnuts, hot and sour soup, the bbq fried pork and the dim sum sampler. The shrimp was amazing and so was the dim sum but wasn’t really a fan of the soup or the pork. The pork was is small fried pieces but it had bones in it. Which I dont know if that is the traditional way, but it was pretty hard to eat. Overall not a bad experience but I don’t think I’ll be going again.

Sushi restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Matsuhisa is a renowned Japanese restaurant founded by chef Nobu Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills. Since its establishment in 1987, it has been celebrated for its fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavors. The restaurant offers an array of exquisite seafood and tasting menus in a refined setting. Despite being one of the original upscale sushi destinations in the city, Matsuhisa continues to attract patrons with its exceptional dishes such as black cod, Kobe beef, and rock shrimp tempura.
Amazing experience. All of the dishes were top tier and great service.
Chris P — Google review
I do NOT understand why people pay easily north of $500 per person for such a low quality food and services. This place definitely lost an edge in ever single way compered to before the Pandemic era. It used to be a fun place to hang out, but now it is a total disaster. Servers keep telling us the dishes that we ate last time were special menus, so they cannot make it anymore. Well, it only been two weeks since last time I visited Matsuhisa for a business meeting, and I confirmed that they have all the ingredients to make that special menu after I asked a Sushi chef at the bar instead of the servers. The servers are somehow not confident enough. The servers are not attentive enough that we always need to ask for a beverage refill throughout the dinner. Do not fooled by the Fancy Japanese Sake carafe, the cold sake portion is ridiculously small and the price is insane when you think about a $ per oz. My client from Japan and my team had had much better quality of sake in the United States. They also use the smallest Asahi beer glass for Asahi draft beer, which costs around $10. We were making fun of it that none of us have never seen this size of skinny glass even in Japan. The quality of the fish were good, but it is not exquisite. Whatever they use are commonly used at many other sushi restaurants in LA. It is not like they have their special way of importing the highest quality of fish only for themselves from Japan. I had to write this because I feel disappointed, almost betrayed sort of feeling after being a loyal customer for such a long time. This place is used to be so good, but no longer a fun place or serving an excellent food.

Our concierge recommended this place as the "original Nobu". Everything we had was spectacular and picked by our waiter. The look and feel of the restaurant could use an update.

Amazing service paired with beautifully presented and delicious Japanese food. It was expensive, but every bite was absolutely worth it. This is a great place to stop by when you feel like treating yourself to some exceptional sushi.

Deeeeee-licious🤤! Took my friend out to an appreciation dinner and he said, "it was the BEST sushi I've EVER HAD" so looks like I showed the right amount of gratitude. Everything was soooo fresh! Service was friendly, helpful and advised us during our entire experience. The Yuzu Margaritas were suspiciously addicting...so good we stayed just a little past close. Matsuhisa won't let you down and best believe you will not leave with a frown ☹️.
Jeremy E — Google review
Matsuhisa is so overrated. After hearing so much about this restaurant I finally decided to take my girlfriend here for Valentines Day. It was such a disappointment and I would never come back here again. I spent 400 dollars here for a party of 2. We ordered appetizers, sushi, dessert and sake as well. The food was incredibly overpriced and the quality of some of the dishes were questionable. The Scallop Kushiyaki was very dry even when it was drenched in teriyaki sauce. Initially I wanted to order the White Fish Tempura but the server suggested that I order the Tempura with their special sauce. Upon receiving the bill, I saw that adding the special sauce with red onions and jalapenos was an additional $20. The White Fish Tempura was already $14, so I ended up paying $34 for that dish. Not even for some special fish, Just plain fried white fish. The only thing I liked from this restaurant were the Golden Eye Snapper and the Akamutsu Sushi. I honestly can't recommend anything else. The ambiance of the restaurant is outdated and depressing. I felt a little crammed and there was nothing in the entire restaurant that I found unique or impressive. We sat inside, but I couldn't imagine sitting outside. Service was mediocre and the tip is automatically entered in your bill. Surely $70 is far too much for the service we received. Valet Parking is mandatory. Go somewhere else?

New American restaurant
Videre Rooftop Restaurant & Bar, located in the Kimpton Hotel Wilshire, offers a delightful experience with its coastal California cuisine and craft cocktails against the backdrop of stunning city views. The sleek and modern terrace setting, complete with private cabanas, provides an ideal spot to enjoy shared plates like Seared Prawns and Manila Clams or veg-friendly options such as Artichoke Hearts and Truffle Parmesan Fries.
This was an excellent restaurant on top of the Kimpton Wilshire. It had a beautiful view, with a pool and lounge chairs. The food was delicious. And the service was outstanding, could not be beat. We recommend just about anything on the brunch menu, especially the French toast.

Amazing views of LA, very aesthetic ambiance including a pool you could dip your feet in and several seating areas on the roof. Valet parking is cheap ($12) and easy. Food was good quality but very small portions
Rich R — Google review
Honestly this place has one of the best views in LA, so no matter what you’re eating or drinking the vibes are great. The service was actually great, drinks were really good, food was OK, definitely worth the visit!

First time and won't be the last. Valet is $12. You get a key to go to the Restaurant. There were only 2 people making drinks, serving and cleaning up. But they were incredible at their job. Drinks, service, atmosphere, interaction was perfect. Drinks were unique and food was awesome. Cauliflower popcorn tastes like chicken and prawns with almond hummus was tasty. The atmosphere and service was so memorable. From the valet, front desk hotel workers, to the bartender and waitress. They were all welcoming and professional. This is a great place to come by and relax for a few hours and unwind.

I was really excited to visit this place. The ambiance was lovely and it has nice views. The cocktails were uniquely named and the menus are fun to look at. The actual drinks were a little bit watered down for my liking, but I can see how people who prefer sweet drinks might enjoy them more! The small plates were good. The yellow tomato and saffron pasta and corn salad were not good. Happy to have had so many veggie options though. Ratings%: Veggie skewers 100% Potatoes 80% Corn salad 30% Pasta 50% Espresso martini 70% Quest cocktail 70%

Stayed at this hotel and food/service on rooftop were great. We had a nice salad and the tacos were killer good, as were truffle fries. Later I ordered room service and huge disappointment when $36 got me a small bowl of hummus with three small shrimp and a paper cup of tea (which I found out after was free in the hotel floor lounge).
Sophie H — Google review
The rooftop bar has an unbeatable view—absolutely stunning, especially at night. The cocktails were well-crafted and definitely a highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, the service didn’t live up to the setting. Despite the bar being far from busy, it took some effort to get the waitress’s attention. The food was overpriced and underwhelming. The “smash burger” wasn’t a smash burger at all, and the overall food service was noticeably slow. Come for the views and cocktails, but maybe grab dinner elsewhere first.
Antoinette M — Google review
I finally made it to Videre and wow—it did not disappoint. From the moment we stepped onto the rooftop at the Hotel Wilshire, the vibe was immaculate. It’s modern, stylish, and the views of the city are unreal, especially around sunset. We ordered a few small plates to share and every single dish was on point—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The cocktails were definitely a highlight. You can tell they put real thought into the mixology. I had one with a spicy twist that was probably one of the best drinks I’ve had in LA.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is a renowned 20-acre campus in Miracle Mile, established in 1965. It houses an extensive collection of over 152,000 artworks and features diverse exhibitions. One of its most famous attractions is the Urban Light installation by Chris Burden, consisting of 202 cast-iron street lamps that have become an iconic symbol of the city.
I love visiting the lights at night and seeing the sphere all lit up in the different colors. This is A definite must see location. Add this spot to your list of stops when coming to California. You have the Lacma on one side of the road then the Berlin wall monument on the other with the car museum as well. I'm excited for the new addition to the museum and also the metro station to open up soon. I hope you have the same amount of fun as we did and still do.

Nice installations. You’ll love it if you loeve modern art. Free for LA county residences after 3pm. Labels are informative. Easier to get in book earlier online. However there’s the lights and the floating rock to see outside. They also do scheduled free tours. Parking ticket was $23 flat rate.

Nice art here! It's free for BoA credit card holder on the first weekend of every month, otherwise, the general admission fee is around $28, the parking flat is $23. The collections were amazing, I enjoy the Picasso art works, Buddha are collections and modern art! You can spend almost half day here, super fun. If you just passby, don't miss the outdoor public art, "Urban Light" and "Levitated Mass", they are perfect spot for photos~

If you’re a fan of modern and contemporary art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is something you can’t miss. The Urban Light installation is one of one of the most recognizable landmarks in Los Angeles which is located at the front of the museum. Inside the museum the galleries are captivating and wide ranging. It’s not the most extensive collection of art, but we did take a few hours to get through everything.
Tim L — Google review
It’s been a minute since I’ve been to LACMA, and even with continuous improvements and renovations, the museum still feels new, open, accessible, and most of all, soooo inspiring and interesting! New (and older) exhibits still feel fresh mostly due to the expansive feeling of each gallery, always giving the art (and guests!) some space to breathe and enjoy the atmosphere and experience. Out of town visitors and locals alike will enjoy the day at LACMA!
Michael K — Google review
There’s a Central America exhibit, Buddhist art exhibit, and plenty of modern art. There’re work being done in the second level and some on the first. The Japanese panel building is also under renovation. The movie museum is closed on the free Tuesday for county folks. Parking is 23 so not bad for a free day visit. The tar pits is also under construction. Saw two buildings now during summer so not bad if you come in a group. Don’t think I’d pay 28/person for what’s on offer, especially with so many exhibits closed. Finally good to see some visual virtual pieces which is already very common in Asia.

Situated at the eastern end of the renowned "Miracle Mile" in Los Angeles, the Petersen Automotive Museum has been a prominent attraction since 1994. Boasting a diverse collection of over 300 vehicles, including restored antiques, race cars, and famous movie vehicles like one of the Batmobiles, this museum offers an immersive experience for car enthusiasts. With five galleries showcasing rotating exhibitions and automotive memorabilia, visitors can explore the rich history of automobiles.
Peterson was on my bucket list of museums to check out. Stopped in during the lowrider exhibit. The level of detail of these cars is off the chart. Bought tickets for the vault. Was cool to see the round door rolls and all the other rare and interesting cars they have. Definitely one of the best museums in the country. We ate at the restaurant during our visit. Upscale trendy food but was good, and good service. Aside from the low riders the had couple other floors with exhibits.

Peterson Automotive Museum is one of the best museums I’ve ever been to and an absolute dream place for any car and car culture lover. Several floors of curated cars including the history of the American automotive industry, the future of driverless cars, famous cars seen on TV and in the movies. The layout of the exhibitions is well planned and spacious. Lots of info and photo reference for each car and there are even tours run by the museum. The racing history section is really cool and there is also a sim for visitors to try - be sure to book for this as it gets busy. Do not pass on The Vault, located in the basement and housing hundreds and hundreds of cars from every era. Including a room dedicated to F1 cars. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly, be sure to ask them all the question as what they know is truly impressive and they are all car enthusiasts. Excellent museum and so glad I visited.

Excellent selection of stunning cars. The variety was fantastic. Went here on a Sunday with my son. It was very easy to park and enter the museum. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a place for kids to do some crafts, build Lego cars and sit in a couple cars. The Vault was a must see. Absolutely loved the selection, especially the Formula 1 cars for my son. We were able to get really close to the cars and it wasn't too crowded. We had a great time here and I would highly recommend visiting.

The Peterson Automotive Museum is one of the most definitive car collections every assembled. Whether you are a lifelong enthusiast or casual visitor, the Peterson is a must -see. Located along Wilshire Boulevard's Museum Row, the Peterson is features a red facade wrapped in sweeping stainless steel ribbons. Inside the museum houses more than 300 iconic cars across three floor ranging from early automotive icons to cutting edge supercars, concept vehicles and movie props. Each portion of the gallery tells a distinct story and highlights the evolution of racing, engineering and design. The experience is thoughtfully curated, balancing historical insight with modern flair. Interactive exhibits and immersive displays make the museum accessible for all ages, while serious enthusiasts can explore “The Vault,” a guided underground collection showcasing some of the rarest and most historically significant cars in the world. Highlights include presidential/state vehicles, cars from the roaring 20s, F1, restored classics, and ultra rare variants. Note that The Vault is an additional fee on top of the regular museum admission, but well worth it for the automotive enthusiast. The Peterson delivers an all ages experience that is both educational and unforgettable!

I have no idea why after all these years living in SoCal that it took me so long to pay a visit to Petersen Automotive Museum. Went on a Friday and arrived around 11:30 a.m., and while it was busy, it wasn't overwhelmingly so. Ample parking on site, though it does cost, however, it is a pretty short walk to get inside. If you taking the time to tour this museum, I highly recommend paying the little extra to tour "The Vault" in addition to the main museum. It's located on the lower level and it houses such an amazing collection of cars spanning the years, which car enthusiasts and the like will appreciate. Honestly, one could easily spend hours down there in awe of these vehicles! The main museum is also really interesting as well. There are three separate levels within the main area and each has it's own unique theme. Along the way you will see a wide variety of automobiles as well as famous cars you might recognize from the movies. Even if you're not a gear-head you will enjoy your time here!
Chris W — Google review
The Petersen Automotive Museum is absolutely incredible! Even if you’re not into cars, like my family, you’ll still have a great time. I’m a car enthusiast, and my family agreed to join me for the visit. None of us were disappointed! The museum offers something for everyone, from educational exhibits about tires to stunning vehicles on display. It’s well worth a visit, showcasing everything from vintage cars to exotic, one-of-a-kind models.

This place is definitely my favorite car museum in the world. I had the pleasure of having Jeff as one of my guides. He is absolutely amazing. The knowledge that that man contains about the vehicles that are in that facility are unmatched. He completely made my day with the stories he knew in the history of the vehicles. Do yourself a favor if you’re gonna come out to this museum, do not skip out on the vault you will regret it. Going to this place for me was like going down memory lane and bringing back all the best memories of my childhood if you love vehicles you’re in the right place.

Plenty of covered parking. Parking is an addition cost. The building is amazing and the grounds are well kept. Lots of helpful staffers about. There is a restaurant and bar on site. I enjoyed free parking on $75+ purchase in the gift shop. Now for the cars.... I can't tell you how rare and how varied the collection is. The additional Vault fees are a good value. I was there midweek and the crowd was minimal. Motorcycles are included with ancient bikes to current hot rod race bikes shown All in all a very good museum experience. Enjoy!

It is a very beautiful and comfortable street. Although we didn't buy any one boutique, it is really pleasing to appreciate the decoration of the store. There is a Hilton Hotel at the bottom of the road. It is also very beautiful and has a European feel.

Our fave first stop when visiting Rodeo Drive area. Posh yet friendly vibes. Valet Parking is free for the first 2 hours. Very scenic photo spots aplenty.
Lily D — Google review
Rodeo Drive is a renowned shopping district in Beverly Hills, California, synonymous with luxury and high-end fashion. Lined with upscale boutiques and designer stores, it attracts affluent shoppers from around the world. The palm-lined street is a symbol of opulence and glamour in the heart of Los Angeles.
John S — Google review
The top of the line experience continues, as visitors and shoppers from Rodeo Drive may go up this small street of big money! Via Rodeo, as it is called, is a pedestrian street built over a parking garage. The north side at Rodeo Drive and Dayton Way, is a gradual incline thru a short block of grandness, with classic architecture, top quality shops, galleries and restaurants! The opposite end has steps to and from Wilshire Blvd. Directly across Wilshire Blvd are views of the luxurious Beverly Wilshire Hotel! There’s beautiful holiday decorations and photo-spots here as well, including the large christmas tree! Here, just as Rodeo Drive, Garage parking is off Dayton Way, under Via Rodeo. Public restrooms are available to pedestrians, as is from Rodeo Drive at the top of Via Rodeo, accessible off Dayton Way or Wilshire Blvd. Elevators to the top and bottom floors have access to restrooms.

Californian restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Beverly Hills, 208 Rodeo is a must-visit for anyone seeking an upscale dining experience. This elegant restaurant offers a delightful blend of bistro fare and California cuisine, making it perfect for both romantic dinners and stylish lunches with friends. With its chic interior and inviting patio that overlooks the iconic Rodeo Drive, diners can enjoy their meals while soaking in the glamorous atmosphere.
Very nice gentleman helped me and my fiancee out on our anniversary dinner. A great selection of food on the menu from seafood lobsters to ribeye steaks; both were excellently prepared. The flavor and the presentation were above and beyond. Small yet elegant restaurant. Great drink options. They provided heaters when it was chilly outside. Our server even gave us a personalized dessert for our anniversary which was very neat and much appreciated. There is valet nearby & underneath Rodeo Drive. I recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to enjoy an elegant dinner experience that matches the atmosphere of Rodeo Drive! I will return in the future 👍

208 Rodeo is a charming restaurant that perfectly blends a premium location with a welcoming atmosphere. The food is delicious, with a variety of well-prepared dishes that cater to different tastes. The ambiance is lively yet refined, making it an excellent spot for a meal. Prices are reasonable, especially considering its prime location in the heart of Beverly Hills. Overall, it’s a lovely place for a memorable dining experience.

I've eaten here a couple of times over the years and would return. Solid tasty lunch. Good service and lovely atmosphere. The dessert, while it looked amazing, was the weakest dish. The table bread was absolutely delicious! The lamb appetizer was very tasty too. You can't beat the view when it comes to patio dining in Beverly Hills.
Elizabeth D — Google review
The food at 208 Rodeo was good, but nothing particularly memorable or extraordinary. The flavors were decent, and everything was prepared well—but for the price point, I expected a bit more creativity or uniqueness. The setting is nice, but overall it felt like you’re paying more for the location than the actual dining experience. It’s not a bad spot, just unreasonably overpriced for what you get.
Frank L — Google review
I can't believe they served this burnt burger to my 2 year old! The ambiance was fine but this food is inedible. She didn't try it in the restaurant so we took it to go. She was picking around the burger and only eating the bun. I saw how burnt it was and couldn't believe they served that to her. I was charged $35 for this burger and fries for a child.

Food was ok, our server was very accommodative to our requests. We ordered steak, pasta, some appetizers and drinks.

We had such a wonderful experience at 208 Rodeo Restaurant. From the moment I arrived, the restaurant team & Stacey made us feel welcome and taken care of — the kind of hospitality you expect on Rodeo Drive, and they absolutely delivered. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely professional. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, perfect for a Beverly Hills dinner. Food was delicious, beautifully presented, and arrived promptly. Overall, an excellent meal topped off by truly standout service. Highly recommend — We will definitely be returning!

The location brought back good memories for me, so I was really looking forward to eating here — but I deeply regret it. The food was terrible: low quality, no taste, and definitely not worth the price. It’s such a shame because the place had personal meaning, but the experience was a big disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Seafood restaurant
Avra Beverly Hills is a sprawling Greek restaurant that exudes the ambiance of an open-air villa, featuring stone-washed walls and imported limestone. The 11,000-square-foot space offers a Mediterranean-Greek menu with a focus on fresh seafood, much of which is flown in daily from Southern Europe. Guests can handpick their preferred catch from the ice-chilled market-seafood display and have it charcoal-grilled with olive oil, lemon, and sea salt.
A timeless favorite We’ve been coming to Avra Beverly Hills for years, and it remains one of our all-time favorite spots as a family. The atmosphere is always light, relaxed, and effortlessly elegant — it truly feels like a little escape to the Mediterranean in the heart of Beverly Hills. The Greek cuisine is consistently excellent — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. From the seafood to the sides, everything is done with care and authenticity. The staff is warm and attentive, and the outdoor seating adds a breezy charm that makes every meal feel special. This is more than just a restaurant for us — it’s part of our story. A place where we’ve shared countless meaningful moments. 💙

Avra is a beautiful restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills. Romantic dinner date spot, but also good for a bougie dinner with friends. The food is really good. We had no complaints. The lobster pasta was my favorite. Our waiter was really nice and informative as well. Would definitely recommend checking it out!
Nate C — Google review
Los Angeles has so many great restaurants, and Avra in Beverly Hills is one of my new top three favorites! The menu is Greek, with a few influences from California, and there are a few “Mediterranean” dishes if you’re nervous about Greek food. It’s pretty large for a Beverly Hills restaurant, but you should still make dinner reservations. Very cool indoor/outdoor patio setting. I loved everything we ordered, and my wife said the butter cake is the best she has ever had.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating at Avra Beverly Hills. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was attentive and warm. The whole atmosphere felt festive and elegant — exactly what you expect from a place like this. There was one unpleasant moment at the beginning: despite booking in advance and specifying where we’d like to sit, we were first offered a table in the far corner of the dining room because we had our daughter with us. After I refused, we were seated near the waiters’ station, which also wasn’t ideal. Only on the third attempt did we finally get a proper table. It was clear the issue was related to the child, but she is not a 6-month-old baby who could disturb the vibe. That said, the food and the level of service made me forget about this incident and fully enjoy the evening. In the end, we left with warm impressions and gratitude for a special night.

Great customer service. 1st time here. Never had a Greek salad before today and let me tell you there's made me a believer!!! Presentation was on point. Flavors the aromas the whole mood. And this was just LUNCH.. I can see why so many celebrities eat here.
Jumbo B — Google review
Definitely one of the better restaurants in the area. Every item we had was excellent. The flavor profiles of each dish was clearly carefully considered and cooked just right. Really well presented and reasonable portions. The starters are easy to share with 4 and maybe even more. A great place to celebrate with friends. I definitely will come again. Reservations are a must, try to book ahead, even for lunch.

Yakiniku restaurant
Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ is a delightful dining experience that brings the essence of Japan's grilling culture to life. This restaurant specializes in an array of grilled meats and vegetables, with standout dishes like the prime kalbi short rib, known for its melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, and the aged harami skirt steak that’s perfect for grilling. Gyu-Kaku offers one of Beverly Hills' most budget-friendly Happy Hours, where you can savor various meat cuts at around $7 or even less!
It was a great experience! Although we didn't make a reservation (we should have), we had to wait for a table for 2 for about 30 minutes. Luckily they do have tiny bar where we can sit and wait because there's a chance someone cancelling their reservations. We got seated and Timmy was our waiter and he was awesome! He was attentive and friendly. He helped gave us suggestions on how to cook certain things, he made sure we were taken care of. All the meat that came out were amazing! The garlic fried rice was phenomenal that we had to order 2 times! All in all, wonderful experience. They have parking space available although limited, unsure if it's comped or not because we walked.

Love this place. Our servers Ryan and Abbey were amazing and took such good care of us. Came on for the $32.50 ayce lunch special and they have happy hour toll 6pm all day. So much fun and love coming here. Will be back again soon. Always a good choice.

The lunch deal is really good, especially for the number of options you get. Food is pretty good as well. Loved the toro beef.
Sara L — Google review
The harami, garlic noodles, kimchi and dumplings were a standout! The toro has great unique flavor, deeply savory and a little sweet, but quite chewy when cooked. The grills were sticky upon first use which made cooking more difficult. Staff was kind and helpful. Would recommend!
Lillian R — Google review
Everything is so good! And such a friendly group of people from Jonathan the General Manager to Gio our server. There is so much to choose for, but luckily we had a guided tour from our friend, and let me tell you, everything we had was so good! First of all, you can't skip the garlic noodle and the Bibimbap. They're must haves! For the meat entries, we had kalbi short rib harami skirt steak, bistro hanger steak, umakara yaki beef, and yaki-shabu beef. It almost doesn't matter which piece we ate, but EVERYTHING tasted so good! And don't skimp on the ponzu and sweet soy sauce , either! This is a restaurant that you want to skip lunch for so you can come in with a healthy appetite. Even the Nigori Sakewas delicious. Lastly, the mochi is such a satisfying treat as a palate cleanser. We left completely satisfied all around. Thanks Gio, Jonathan, and the rest of Gyu-Kaku!
Joe G — Google review
This BBQ place offers tasty grilled dishes and a fun dining experience. The quality is great, but prices can be a bit high, likely due to the prime location. Still, it’s a nice spot for Japanese BBQ lovers seeking flavorful options.
Carlo C — Google review
Always happy to come here. The value is still the best. A McDonalds meal costs just as much as their wonderful lunch menu. It can't be beat. The Japanese BBQ is fantastic no matter the meat you pick. Solid happy hour deals too!
Ronnie K — Google review
Delicious foods and an interesting concept, a bold move to let us cook our food. Make sure you can cook it well with the time, especially if you ordered a chicken. Nice music and I loved the cosy architecture!. The all you can eat price is interesting... (around 35$ for adult, 25$ for child under 12) but the regular grill options range from 10$-20$.
